Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: We are live in Auburn, Alabama. It is LSU at
- 0:04Speaker 1: Auburn this Saturday, just down the road from us right
- 0:07Speaker 1: here in Jordan-Hare Stadium at Auburn. He's Lance Taylor. I'm
- 0:11Speaker 1: Brian Brown. Continuing his Irish vacation, the boys in the
- 0:15Speaker 1: back room all in today. Tyler, Scott, Brooks all back
- 0:18Speaker 1: there in Birmingham taking care of us as we are
- 0:21Speaker 1: down in Auburn. We've got a packed show for you
- 0:23Speaker 1: today as we'll talk about all the football games. We
- 0:25Speaker 1: are at Bunkers, which if you've never been to Auburn,
- 0:28Speaker 1: Bunkers is on West Glen, literally blocks from Jordan here.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Like you can see Jordan here from here. So it's
- 0:33Speaker 1: a great game day location. We're going to be here
- 0:35Speaker 1: until one o'clock. Just hanging out, talking some football here
- 0:38Speaker 1: at Bunkers. Yeah, I talked about this when we were
- 0:40Speaker 1: in town. I guess it was in June for the
- 0:42Speaker 1: friendly between Argentina. Who did Argentina play? Iceland.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Iceland.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Thank you, Tyler. It was there. I couldn't remember. Tyler doesn't.
- 0:52Speaker 3: But I remember talking about, like, I remember the bars
- 0:55Speaker 3: I was going to as a college kid.
- 0:57Speaker 1: They weren't like Bunkers. Bunkers was not on the list
- 1:00Speaker 1: at Jacksonville State, I can promise you.
- 1:01Speaker 3: No, like, Bunkers has got, like, nice light fixtures. Like,
- 1:05Speaker 3: everything in here, the furniture is nice. There's great TVs.
- 1:08Speaker 1: All over the place. Would you call that a chandelier?
- 1:10Speaker 1: It is not a chandelier. Okay. Yeah. Well, I'm from
- 1:13Speaker 1: Calhoun County. That's a chandelier to me. Okay, okay.
- 1:15Speaker 3: It's not a chandelier, but it is a very interesting
- 1:18Speaker 3: light fixture, and they've got them throughout this place. But
- 1:20Speaker 3: this is one of those bunkers, kitchen, and social clubs, like,
- 1:24Speaker 3: I don't think I'd go to the game. I know
- 1:25Speaker 3: a lot of people love going to the game.
- 1:27Speaker 1: You can almost throw a football to the stadium.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Yeah, so definitely at halftime, I'd be out and coming
- 1:32Speaker 3: over here. It's just a great spot. They said they
- 1:34Speaker 3: had their biggest Thursday night since they've been open last night.
- 1:37Speaker 1: That's what they told us. So, I mean, does that
- 1:39Speaker 1: show you there's a little excitement down here because of
- 1:41Speaker 1: the Georgia win?
- 1:42Speaker 3: Well, yeah, I think there's a lot of excitement. Talking
- 1:45Speaker 3: to one of the owners earlier this morning, he said,
- 1:47Speaker 3: you know, The great thing is three-night minimums, all the
- 1:50Speaker 3: hotels down here. So LSU fans and Auburn fans that
- 1:53Speaker 3: came in town, they were here last night. They'll be
- 1:56Speaker 3: here this morning. And you know how this works on
- 1:58Speaker 3: a college game day. Like there's only so many things
- 2:00Speaker 3: you can do. You can get up and go get
- 2:02Speaker 3: your coffee, get you a workout. You can shop for
- 2:06Speaker 3: a little bit, but they're all going to gravitate to
- 2:08Speaker 3: a bar. And they're all going to be drinking and
- 2:10Speaker 3: talking about the game tomorrow and college football on another
- 2:13Speaker 3: big weekend.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Especially coming off last weekend.
- 2:16Speaker 3: But yes, there is a massive buzz in this town
- 2:18Speaker 3: coming off that Georgia win because it went from, are
- 2:21Speaker 3: we even going to get bowl eligible this year to, hey,
- 2:24Speaker 3: wait a minute.
- 2:25Speaker 1: Yeah, damn, if we can beat Georgia.
- 2:26Speaker 3: On the road and now we're sitting there only with
- 2:28Speaker 3: two losses, why can't we believe? And if you, again,
- 2:32Speaker 3: Alex Golish, Definitely watch the Saban documentary based on, hey, look,
- 2:37Speaker 3: for a three-and-a-half-hour slug fight, there was no way we
- 2:40Speaker 3: could beat this team. But I told them, you focus
- 2:43Speaker 3: six to eight seconds per play. This is how we
- 2:46Speaker 3: can get it done. If they can take that mentality,
- 2:48Speaker 3: recapture it against LSU coming in here for this lazy.
- 2:51Speaker 1: 11 o'clock game, which... We've talked about it before.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Most 11 o'clock atmospheres, it takes them a while to
- 2:57Speaker 3: wake up. I don't think it will take Jordan Hare
- 2:59Speaker 3: any time to wake up. It'll be as juiced as
- 3:01Speaker 3: you can be at 11 o'clock. Whatever your 11 o'clock
- 3:04Speaker 3: limitation is versus 2.30 or prime time, that's the only
- 3:08Speaker 3: thing that will limit this crowd. And I mean, I
- 3:11Speaker 3: still think it'll be a good enough atmosphere that that's
- 3:13Speaker 3: not going to be an issue. This is not going
- 3:15Speaker 3: to be, yeah, crowd was kind of flat.
- 3:16Speaker 1: We were flat.
- 3:17Speaker 3: I think if you rolled into it, you tell me
- 3:18Speaker 3: if I'm wrong, you would think it's a 230 kick.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Probably.
- 3:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Yeah. You know, it's not a nighttime kick because the
- 3:23Speaker 1: sun's up. Right. Because the sun's up. Yes.
- 3:25Speaker 3: But I do think the atmosphere is going to be
- 3:27Speaker 3: a lot better. I do think it benefits LSU that
- 3:29Speaker 3: it is an 11 o'clock game because if this game
- 3:32Speaker 3: was at night, I think the point spread would reflect that.
- 3:36Speaker 3: I mean, right now, LSU, the last I saw, seven
- 3:38Speaker 3: and a half.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Yeah. You know, I think this thing might be six. Okay.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:43Speaker 1: All right. Well, we've got a lot to get to,
- 3:45Speaker 1: and we'll talk about this game. We'll talk about all
- 3:47Speaker 1: the games in the SEC throughout the next four hours.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Todd Furman with us in a little less than an hour,
- 3:52Speaker 1: and you know he'll talk about all the games as well.
- 3:54Speaker 1: But what we normally do is start the day with
- 3:58Speaker 1: what we saw last night, and I've got two options
- 4:00Speaker 1: for you.
- 4:00Speaker 4: Yep.
- 4:01Speaker 1: One would be the NFL game we saw last night,
- 4:04Speaker 1: and the other would be what they told me was
- 4:07Speaker 1: an exhibition basketball game last night that almost turned into
- 4:10Speaker 1: a prize fight. Which one would you like to start with?
- 4:13Speaker 1: I don't care.
- 4:14Speaker 3: I mean, we can start with Alabama-Auburn if you want,
- 4:17Speaker 3: and then we can work our way to the NFL.
- 4:19Speaker 1: And look, it's an exhibition basketball game, so what actually
- 4:22Speaker 1: went on in the game is somewhat irrelevant. People listening
- 4:25Speaker 1: in Richmond right now or Tulsa, they probably don't care, but...
- 4:30Speaker 1: It did get, you know, I don't think we've seen this.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Like I watch, and I shouldn't say a lot.
- 4:37Speaker 3: I'll see it. I'll have it on the background. NBA
- 4:39Speaker 3: preseason action. You never see any of this. But last night,
- 4:42Speaker 3: what we saw downtown Birmingham was pretty crazy.
- 4:45Speaker 1: It's crazy. So for those that don't know, those that
- 4:48Speaker 1: are out of the Birmingham market or you've just not
- 4:50Speaker 1: paid attention. the SEC made an emphasis to their schools,
- 4:56Speaker 1: or at least made a suggestion to their schools, like,
- 4:58Speaker 1: if you're going to play preseason games, if you're going
- 5:00Speaker 1: to play exhibition games, why not help one another out
- 5:03Speaker 1: and play some in-conference games? So you've seen Alabama actually
- 5:05Speaker 1: do that twice. They played Ole Miss at Ballin' and Bowel,
- 5:08Speaker 1: and then Alabama and Auburn got together and agreed to
- 5:11Speaker 1: do a neutral site game in Birmingham. There was an
- 5:14Speaker 1: NIL component from the ticket sales and things like that,
- 5:17Speaker 1: so it was beneficial to both schools to do this
- 5:19Speaker 1: on their part. And again, if you're out of market,
- 5:21Speaker 1: the demand for this ticket was crazy. Was it really?
- 5:23Speaker 1: In a rarity, I was not asked for any, so
- 5:27Speaker 1: I just.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I was I was asked for quite a few.
- 5:29Speaker 3: And yeah, the demand seemed like it was there. Now,
- 5:32Speaker 3: you know, the crowd, I guess you really couldn't tell
- 5:35Speaker 3: on 90s YouTube channel.
- 5:37Speaker 1: It's hard to see like the upper level. Yeah, it's
- 5:39Speaker 1: kind of dark up there. So it's hard to see
- 5:41Speaker 1: if it's packed. But, you know, the lower bowl had
- 5:43Speaker 1: a really good crowd there. Yeah. And it was a
- 5:45Speaker 1: lively crowd from what I could tell on the on
- 5:47Speaker 1: the broadcast there with Carl Ravitch and. Damian Fishback and
- 5:51Speaker 1: Richard Hendricks.
- 5:52Speaker 3: You know and it's always it shows you the the
- 5:55Speaker 3: passion for sports in our market right because I mean
- 5:58Speaker 3: this is the middle of college football with now both
- 6:01Speaker 3: Auburn and Alabama being in the mix I know it
- 6:03Speaker 3: sounds crazy for possible spots in the college football playoff
- 6:07Speaker 3: and now you've got an exhibition game between the two
- 6:10Speaker 3: and you've got this buzz and and what happens four
- 6:12Speaker 3: and a half minutes into the game and how the
- 6:14Speaker 3: game plays out I mean yeah It's pretty crazy for
- 6:17Speaker 3: an exhibition game.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yeah, so you had a little bit of a scuffle
- 6:20Speaker 1: early where both coaches came off the bench and then
- 6:23Speaker 1: Nate Oates and Steven Pearl... Go face to face a
- 6:26Speaker 1: little bit. Yes. There were some words exchanged between the two.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Dowd and Bristow lock up a loose ball on the ground. Right.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Then you got Trippi going back and forth. I think
- 6:35Speaker 3: Kevin Overton was saying some things. I think Oates told Overton,
- 6:38Speaker 3: get back to your bench. There was another word in there,
- 6:41Speaker 3: I believe.
- 6:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Stephen shows up and, you know, I mean, you got
- 6:45Speaker 3: to get the back of your player.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Right.
- 6:47Speaker 3: They start chirping a little bit, and you knew at
- 6:49Speaker 3: that moment, hey, look, this feels like more than an
- 6:54Speaker 3: exhibition game.
- 6:55Speaker 1: I have not watched a lot of exhibition basketball. I
- 6:57Speaker 1: don't remember many scuffles. But then after the game, and
- 7:00Speaker 1: it was a tight game, two-point Alabama win, came down
- 7:03Speaker 1: to basically free throws at the end, and Auburn had
- 7:07Speaker 1: ball in hand, but Alabama defended it well, so they
- 7:09Speaker 1: couldn't even advance it off the court. You're going to
- 7:11Speaker 1: handshake lines, and another scuffle breaks out, and where this
- 7:15Speaker 1: one almost got out of hand... was George Kimball, the
- 7:19Speaker 1: Auburn player, from behind bodies Amari Allen, who's in the discussion. Now,
- 7:25Speaker 1: the coaches have already stepped in, and they're playing peacemaker here.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Amari Allen, the initial situation, was not going to lead
- 7:32Speaker 1: to anything. Nate Oates was early on it. Stephen Pearl
- 7:35Speaker 1: was on his way. They were going to make sure
- 7:36Speaker 1: that didn't happen. But Kimball comes in from behind and
- 7:39Speaker 1: absolutely bodies Amari Allen. Well, I'll tell you, if this
- 7:41Speaker 1: would have been NBA, if this would.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Have been regular season, it's going to be really interesting
- 7:46Speaker 3: because I don't know, like, what kind of power does
- 7:51Speaker 3: the SEC have for an exhibition game like this? Because
- 7:54Speaker 3: if you see the video and you see George Kimball III,
- 7:57Speaker 3: I mean, it's malicious. I don't know what was said
- 8:00Speaker 3: between Amari Allen and George Kimball before this.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Right.
- 8:04Speaker 3: But for Kimball to come after him, this is something
- 8:06Speaker 3: that I think would lead to a suspension.
- 8:09Speaker 1: I mean, it's not technically a league game. I don't
- 8:12Speaker 1: know how you do this in exhibition basketball because it's
- 8:14Speaker 1: not a league game. I mean, there's two league teams playing.
- 8:17Speaker 1: There's got to be a way to police it.
- 8:18Speaker 3: As soon as I say that, let's say that You know,
- 8:21Speaker 3: Auburn is playing Marathon Ole if we want to go
- 8:23Speaker 3: back to an old school.
- 8:25Speaker 1: What were some of the athletes in action? Athletes in action.
- 8:27Speaker 1: You know, those were like Christian organizations. I don't think
- 8:29Speaker 1: they were going to fight. Yeah, probably not. Although some
- 8:30Speaker 1: of the bigger fights I've seen in softball were in
- 8:32Speaker 1: church league.
- 8:33Speaker 3: But, you know, if he actually bodies one of those guys,
- 8:36Speaker 3: this is probably a non-story. But because it was SEC
- 8:39Speaker 3: on SEC, I just wonder if this goes anywhere.
- 8:43Speaker 1: No idea. I don't even know what you'd do if
- 8:45Speaker 1: you're the Southeastern Conference. And Steven may take care of
- 8:48Speaker 1: it himself. I don't know. And it may not work.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I was going to say it may not warrant a penalty,
- 8:52Speaker 1: but if this were a regular season Alabama-Auburn game, I
- 8:57Speaker 1: do think something might happen there.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Something would happen there for sure. The FTC would have
- 9:01Speaker 3: to step in. And I think this is one of
- 9:03Speaker 3: those that I don't care where you're listening to us
- 9:07Speaker 3: right now. it would be on SportsCenter and all highlights everywhere.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely.
- 9:11Speaker 3: I mean, four guys were, you know, four players got
- 9:14Speaker 3: technicals early on in the game, and then you saw
- 9:17Speaker 3: that after the game, and then the game played out incredibly.
- 9:19Speaker 4: Yeah, it was.
- 9:20Speaker 1: People in the chat that are there saying it was
- 9:23Speaker 1: a great atmosphere, that it was probably 80% full. I mean,
- 9:28Speaker 1: for an exhibition game, that's pretty remarkable. That place holds
- 9:30Speaker 1: like 15,000. That's a big arena. That's a big arena
- 9:33Speaker 1: to go 80% for a preseason game is pretty crazy.
- 9:36Speaker 1: So everybody was saying it was a really cool atmosphere. So,
- 9:39Speaker 1: you know, maybe we'll see it again. I don't know. Early, early,
- 9:42Speaker 1: early in the chat, I was going to read Landmine Believer,
- 9:44Speaker 1: who said he wants this to be an annual event.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I don't know. Here's what he says. Coach Landmine, the
- 9:50Speaker 1: feud was awesome. Got to be a yearly thing. Game
- 9:52Speaker 1: was intense. Crowds were loud for both sides. Pretty close
- 9:55Speaker 1: to 50 50 was just awesome.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Well steven pearl says after the game that felt like
- 10:00Speaker 3: a sweet 16 yeah kind of atmosphere it kind of
- 10:03Speaker 3: came across that way on the broadcast and the way
- 10:05Speaker 3: it played out and he was like and this is
- 10:07Speaker 3: middle of october which is really insane when you think
- 10:09Speaker 3: about that i don't know if the chippiness helps or
- 10:12Speaker 3: hurts bringing back.
- 10:13Speaker 1: The future year two i don't know Yeah. I mean,
- 10:15Speaker 1: if I'm a fan and it excites me, I think
- 10:17Speaker 1: it's easier for a night idiot to sell tickets.
- 10:19Speaker 3: If you get a player suspended, you're probably like, eh,
- 10:21Speaker 3: maybe we don't do this. Yeah, so it'll be interesting
- 10:23Speaker 3: to see how that plays out. We were on the
- 10:25Speaker 3: call for Florida State Auburn and balling at Bowel just
- 10:29Speaker 3: eight days ago, a week out from the feud, and
- 10:32Speaker 3: Tahad Pettiford really, really struggled shooting the basketball, really, really
- 10:35Speaker 3: struggled shooting the basketball again.
- 10:36Speaker 1: And fouled out. And fouled out, yeah, with a couple
- 10:38Speaker 1: of minutes to go.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Kevin Overton was really, really good, led all scorers with 26,
- 10:42Speaker 3: but You know, you just wonder, and again, it's two
- 10:46Speaker 3: preseason games, but we've seen Pettiford really struggle as far
- 10:50Speaker 3: as he's an electric player, but sometimes a lot of
- 10:53Speaker 3: shots and not a lot to get out of that.
- 10:56Speaker 1: That's exhibition basketball, which you know it's going to take
- 10:59Speaker 1: a lot for us to discuss exhibition basketball, but that
- 11:02Speaker 1: was a lot last night. Those two teams obviously will
- 11:04Speaker 1: play twice in the regular season. Based on that game
- 11:07Speaker 1: right there, I imagine they'll be hotly contested. That should
- 11:09Speaker 1: be an interesting series this year.
- 11:11Speaker 3: Well, and, you know, the seven-footers for Auburn, I think
- 11:13Speaker 3: we were more interested in that last week against Florida
- 11:16Speaker 3: State in bowling and bowel than anything. And I didn't
- 11:19Speaker 3: think Aboye or Narcisse played that well. They looked out
- 11:22Speaker 3: of shape. But 15 and 16 combined last night. So,
- 11:25Speaker 3: you know, they were effective. So, you know. We talked
- 11:28Speaker 3: about this on the broadcast. Once the conditioning comes in
- 11:31Speaker 3: and they get their feet under them and they get
- 11:32Speaker 3: a little more acclimated to SEC play, these guys can
- 11:35Speaker 3: be major factors.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Yeah, so it'll be interesting as basketball starting is just
- 11:39Speaker 1: around the corner. Obviously, a lot of excitement here in
- 11:41Speaker 1: Auburn for football, and we'll talk a lot about that.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Before we get to the NFL, I'll remind you of
- 11:45Speaker 1: the show today and always on Sports Day presented by
- 11:48Speaker 1: Hard Rock Bet. Hardrock.bet backslash clay. Hardrock.bet backslash clay.com. The
- 11:55Speaker 1: Bears covered last night, right, at Hard Rock Not Bad?
- 11:59Speaker 1: So you had that happening last night. It went over
- 12:01Speaker 1: the total, which we had at lanceslock.com. That late field
- 12:04Speaker 1: goal didn't push it over, did it? So the 58-yarder
- 12:07Speaker 1: by Santos actually put it over by a half. Okay. Yeah,
- 12:11Speaker 1: but without that. And the Patriots kicked there. Yeah, I
- 12:13Speaker 1: don't know what you get from the Patriots. They don't
- 12:15Speaker 1: kick one there. I don't think they try to score
- 12:16Speaker 1: a touchdown. at that point. Yeah, they would score. Yeah, absolutely.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Because at that point, it's 27 to 21. But you
- 12:22Speaker 3: think about the field position they would have had. I mean,
- 12:24Speaker 3: Ben Johnson, that was kind of a ballsy call.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Caleb Williams takes the late sack there, which you cannot do.
- 12:29Speaker 1: I mean, what was he doing? Throw it away. Yeah,
- 12:32Speaker 1: got to throw it away.
- 12:32Speaker 3: And look, he has played so well coming back from
- 12:34Speaker 3: the hamstring injury over 300 yards in Atlanta. in the
- 12:37Speaker 3: win over 300 yards last night, in the win over
- 12:40Speaker 3: the Patriots. But that was almost a devastating sack that
- 12:44Speaker 3: he takes because if Santos misses that, you help me
- 12:47Speaker 3: do the math, it's a 58-yarder he misses.
- 12:50Speaker 1: So the ball's on the 48, right? Yeah, the 48.
- 12:53Speaker 1: So you've got a short field to go down and
- 12:56Speaker 1: win the game. You get it where? Actually, where the
- 12:59Speaker 1: spot is. Where the spot is. It could be the 48, yeah.
- 13:02Speaker 3: So at that point, you've got a short field, and
- 13:04Speaker 3: then Drake Mays got an opportunity to get it. Outside of,
- 13:07Speaker 3: you know, and Drake May really harped on this after
- 13:10Speaker 3: the game. He had the early turnover in the red zone. Well,
- 13:13Speaker 3: I didn't say it was early. It was late in
- 13:14Speaker 3: the second half. But that was his one mistake. But,
- 13:19Speaker 3: you know, I thought Caleb Williams played exceptionally well. Now
- 13:22Speaker 3: the Bears are sitting at five and two. The Patriots
- 13:24Speaker 3: snap a three-game winning streak. But that was a really
- 13:27Speaker 3: good Thursday night game.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Yeah, it absolutely was. Hard Rock Bet, you may know
- 13:30Speaker 1: that they are the Hard Rock Bet sports app. You've
- 13:34Speaker 1: heard of Hard Rock, but the Hard Rock Bet sports
- 13:36Speaker 1: app is what you need to hear about as well.
- 13:38Speaker 1: Florida's only legal sports book and therefore the most trustworthy
- 13:41Speaker 1: option in the market. Hard Rock Bet, also available in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan,
- 13:47Speaker 1: New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee, or Virginia. You can play right now. Listen,
- 13:52Speaker 1: it's Friday. They got happy hour. That means from four
- 13:54Speaker 1: to six, log in during happy hour to get your
- 13:56Speaker 1: no sweat bonus bet. Also, when you sign up, go
- 13:59Speaker 1: to hardrock.bet backslash clay, hardrock.bet backslash clay and get up
- 14:04Speaker 1: to $ 500. When you play $ 50, $ 500 in those no
- 14:09Speaker 1: sweat bonus bets. I use them right there in Tennessee.
- 14:11Speaker 1: It's fun to use right there at hardrock.bet backslash clay,
- 14:15Speaker 1: hardrock.bet backslash clay. I still maintain the Bears win that division.
- 14:20Speaker 1: I am not a Minnesota believer, as you have learned,
- 14:23Speaker 1: though Herm, Coach Herm, when he was on with us yesterday,
- 14:25Speaker 1: gave it a remarkable stat defensively. That's how they're winning games, Minnesota.
- 14:29Speaker 1: I still think the Bears find a way to win
- 14:31Speaker 1: that division.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Caleb Williams is definitely a difference maker, and you saw
- 14:35Speaker 3: him in the divisional round last year, and that incredible
- 14:38Speaker 3: fourth down play against the Rams, where really Ben Johnson
- 14:41Speaker 3: should have gone for two, and they probably could have
- 14:43Speaker 3: walked that thing off, and they're on to the NFC
- 14:45Speaker 3: Championship game, but He is definitely a difference maker, and
- 14:49Speaker 3: now Colston Loveland is starting to play. You've got a
- 14:51Speaker 3: weapon in Luther Burden III, obviously DeAndre Swift. I mean,
- 14:55Speaker 3: Ben Johnson is one of the best offensive play callers
- 14:58Speaker 3: in all of football, and I think the Bears are
- 15:00Speaker 3: a really dangerous team. But I can make arguments for
- 15:03Speaker 3: all four teams in the NFC North. I think it
- 15:05Speaker 3: is the best division from top to bottom.
- 15:08Speaker 1: If you power-rated the NFC North right now, you would go– Well,
- 15:12Speaker 1: I think you've got the worst defense in football in
- 15:14Speaker 1: the Detroit Lions, but you've got the best defense in
- 15:16Speaker 1: football in the Minnesota Vikings. Boy, you could combine Detroit
- 15:19Speaker 1: and Minnesota and win the Super Bowl, wouldn't you? Yeah,
- 15:21Speaker 1: for sure.
- 15:23Speaker 3: You know, Green Bay's not whole yet. I mean, Mike
- 15:25Speaker 3: is going to come back. Josh Jacobs is coming back.
- 15:28Speaker 3: When you get those two weapons, those are major difference
- 15:31Speaker 3: makers on both sides of the ball. And I give
- 15:33Speaker 3: Jordan Love a lot of credit, the way he has
- 15:35Speaker 3: played to keep Green Bay in this.
- 15:37Speaker 1: So I think they're a player still. You know.
- 15:41Speaker 3: If I had to guess on who was going to
- 15:43Speaker 3: win this division, I love Detroit's offense. Statistically, the worst
- 15:48Speaker 3: defense in the NFL is not going to win this division.
- 15:51Speaker 3: I'm like you on Minnesota. I'm a little more bullish
- 15:54Speaker 3: because I love Kevin O'Connell and his ability to really
- 15:59Speaker 3: have quarterbacks develop during the season under him. I would
- 16:03Speaker 3: go Bears or Packers. I just saw what the Bears did. Um,
- 16:08Speaker 3: and Packers, how that played out a couple of weeks ago. Um,
- 16:12Speaker 3: I would lean bears right now.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Okay.
- 16:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I lean bears. I don't feel good about it. You
- 16:16Speaker 1: seem like you feel good about it. Yeah. As good
- 16:19Speaker 1: as you can in that division. I mean, I wouldn't
- 16:21Speaker 1: go to hard rock, got bad and put my life
- 16:23Speaker 1: on it by any stretch of the imagination. Probably wouldn't
- 16:25Speaker 1: even play it. That's such an, uh, uh, unpredictable division.
- 16:29Speaker 1: I'm just saying I think the Bears will end up
- 16:31Speaker 1: winning it. If I had to pick one, I'd pick
- 16:32Speaker 1: the Bears.
- 16:33Speaker 3: I just know the Packers limped around, and it was
- 16:35Speaker 3: like they were whining, we don't have Micah, and they
- 16:38Speaker 3: had lost seven or eight straight without Micah. And when
- 16:40Speaker 3: Micah comes back, I mean, the difference maker, he's going
- 16:42Speaker 3: to be on the defense. I mean, and again, I
- 16:47Speaker 3: think it will come down to Green Bay or Chicago,
- 16:50Speaker 3: but I slightly lean Chicago because it's Caleb Williams.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Yeah, well, it was a fun game last night. Another
- 16:55Speaker 1: week of the NFL, we'll talk some about that. with
- 16:57Speaker 1: Furman and the college football games tonight in college football.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Do any of these interest you? By the way, real quick,
- 17:05Speaker 1: James Madison no longer upset. App State pulled that upset
- 17:08Speaker 1: last night. Or undefeated, excuse me. App State pulled that
- 17:10Speaker 1: upset last night. We had the Mountaineers plus the 11
- 17:12Speaker 1: and a half. They win the game outright.
- 17:14Speaker 3: James London walks it off with that 40-yard field goal
- 17:16Speaker 3: in overtime after JMU missed a 47-yarder off the upright.
- 17:20Speaker 1: That was a hell of a game.
- 17:21Speaker 3: JMU gets up early, 14-3, trying to quiet down that
- 17:25Speaker 3: crowd in Boone. And, you know, Appalachian State's able to
- 17:29Speaker 3: grind and grind and grind, and they get that late
- 17:31Speaker 3: pick with six minutes left. They take it down to
- 17:33Speaker 3: the 14. They get the touchdown. They take their first
- 17:35Speaker 3: lead of the game. They end up holding on. Now
- 17:38Speaker 3: only five undefeateds remain. We went through the exercise yesterday
- 17:41Speaker 3: ranking the five undefeateds.
- 17:42Speaker 1: That's right. You left JMU out, I guess, for a reason.
- 17:45Speaker 1: I only went power four, yeah. Because you knew they
- 17:47Speaker 1: were going to lose last night. I had foresight.
- 17:49Speaker 3: But, yeah, that was a fun game, and now we
- 17:51Speaker 3: are down to five undefeated teams.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:54Speaker 3: I think we said this after Indiana went 16-0 last year.
- 17:57Speaker 3: I don't think you will ever see that in today's
- 17:59Speaker 3: college football again. You might get a group of five
- 18:04Speaker 3: teams go undefeated.
- 18:05Speaker 1: But then they're going to lose. But they're going to
- 18:07Speaker 1: lose in the playoffs right away. That's the thing. Like,
- 18:09Speaker 1: in the regular season... I could see Notre Dame going
- 18:12Speaker 1: undefeated in the regular season. They control so much of
- 18:14Speaker 1: their schedule. Well, and Miami's got one game.
- 18:17Speaker 3: We talk about, you know, kind of the trap game
- 18:19Speaker 3: next week in Chapel Hill. But I mean, if you're
- 18:21Speaker 3: really looking at this in two weeks, the game in
- 18:24Speaker 3: South Bend is that game. And if they win that,
- 18:26Speaker 3: they're going to go undefeated in the regular season. But
- 18:28Speaker 3: you're just not going to see a lot of that.
- 18:30Speaker 3: So of the five undefeateds left, Miami's got a shot. OK,
- 18:34Speaker 3: I guess I guess the winner of. I mean, Texas
- 18:37Speaker 3: Tech is still away from Utah BYU. So the winner
- 18:41Speaker 3: of Utah BYU matching up with Texas Tech, those could
- 18:45Speaker 3: be undefeated to the end of the year.
- 18:46Speaker 1: There is no way UCLA can close that. I agree
- 18:48Speaker 1: with you 100% on that one. And then that's it. Yeah.
- 18:51Speaker 3: I mean, can you imagine that right now 60% of
- 18:54Speaker 3: our undefeateds going into the latter part of October are
- 18:58Speaker 3: all from the Big 12, one of the conferences that
- 19:00Speaker 3: we disrespected the most. I mean, again, they got three
- 19:03Speaker 3: top 10 teams. I didn't think– I thought they would
- 19:05Speaker 3: struggle to have one top 10 team. I thought it
- 19:07Speaker 3: would only be Texas Tech. And a lot of this
- 19:10Speaker 3: is scheduled.
- 19:10Speaker 6: It is.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Texas Tech. It's going to work its way out. They
- 19:12Speaker 3: did beat Houston, but that was in the Big 12.
- 19:14Speaker 3: You look at Utah, they have beaten no one of substance.
- 19:17Speaker 1: And BYU did get the quality win last week against
- 19:20Speaker 1: Notre Dame. So tonight you've got Duke, Virginia, which in
- 19:24Speaker 1: the preseason, you kind of looked at that and you thought, hey,
- 19:26Speaker 1: that's going to be a sneaky good Friday night game.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Maybe a good game. It doesn't quite have on it
- 19:31Speaker 1: what we thought it might because we thought Virginia would
- 19:33Speaker 1: be bad. Yeah, I mean, a 4-2 Duke team taking
- 19:35Speaker 1: on a 4-3 Cavalier team.
- 19:37Speaker 3: And Pribula has played really well at the quarterback position.
- 19:40Speaker 3: You know, 13 touchdowns, only the one interception. They just,
- 19:45Speaker 3: when we saw them early on against NC State, they
- 19:47Speaker 3: looked so dominant up front. They've got so many 22-
- 19:52Speaker 3: and 23-year-olds. On the offensive and defensive lines, they look dominant.
- 19:56Speaker 3: And then against Florida State, they were completely lost. So
- 19:58Speaker 3: I don't know where I am on Virginia. This is
- 20:00Speaker 3: the third meeting between these two in the last 12 months.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Virginia won going away in Durham last year. And then
- 20:07Speaker 3: the ACC championship goes to overtime. Duke wins that, which
- 20:10Speaker 3: throws everything out of whack, makes Mario Cristobal a top
- 20:13Speaker 3: 10 coach.
- 20:14Speaker 1: Yeah, right.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Because without that, Tony Elliott and Virginia go to the
- 20:17Speaker 3: college football playoffs. So the third time, very familiar. These
- 20:20Speaker 3: two teams are with each other. And uh should be
- 20:23Speaker 3: a good game virginia two and a half point favorite
- 20:25Speaker 3: total of 46 and a half at hard rock bet.
- 20:27Speaker 1: Oh nice you got army and tulsa as well that
- 20:30Speaker 1: virginia duke virginia game by the way six o'clock espn
- 20:32Speaker 1: six central army tulsa tonight air force wyoming nc state
- 20:36Speaker 1: stanford i don't know if any of those games jump
- 20:38Speaker 1: out at you no no still kind of going through
- 20:40Speaker 1: those to see what we're going to put up tonight
- 20:42Speaker 1: me neither army tulsa is espn to air force wyoming
- 20:46Speaker 1: on the cw.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Do you think we'll have snow At the Wyoming game. Wow,
- 20:51Speaker 3: I guess we are in that time of year, right? Yeah,
- 20:52Speaker 3: I mean, it's worth putting on just to check that out.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Yeah. Both of those can handle it, though. Air Force
- 20:57Speaker 1: gets plenty of snow. Wyoming gets plenty of snow. You
- 20:59Speaker 1: would normally say, ooh, that might be a little altitude game. Nope,
- 21:02Speaker 1: not with Air Force in it. They're fine. And then
- 21:04Speaker 1: NC State at Stanford. Boy, that is the worst team
- 21:07Speaker 1: in the ACC. Probably Stanford is the worst team in
- 21:09Speaker 1: the ACC.
- 21:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I would say they are. They're only a six-and-a-half-point
- 21:12Speaker 3: dog here. So this does become kind of an interesting
- 21:15Speaker 3: game for Dave Dern at three-and-three because– I've always thought
- 21:18Speaker 3: that he's done a good job there. I think it's
- 21:20Speaker 3: a difficult job in the ACC, but I think it's
- 21:26Speaker 3: gotten a little stale maybe for a lot of people,
- 21:28Speaker 3: and there was such hope with C.J.
- 21:30Speaker 1: Bailey coming back this year that this would be a
- 21:32Speaker 1: special year.
- 21:33Speaker 3: They had that schedule that just kind of laid out
- 21:35Speaker 3: for them, but only a 6.5-point favorite heading to the
- 21:38Speaker 3: farm to take on Stanford, a total of 55.5, and
- 21:40Speaker 3: Michael Ford for Stanford coming off a career-best 231 total
- 21:43Speaker 3: scrimmage yards. And a 34-7 win over Elon. This could
- 21:49Speaker 3: be a tricky upset. NC State going all the way
- 21:53Speaker 3: across the country. Nobody's giving Stanford any shot here. This
- 21:57Speaker 3: thing's under that key number of seven.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Yeah. So watch out for this one. Look out on
- 22:03Speaker 1: that one. If you're just looking for a competitive game tonight. 930.
- 22:06Speaker 1: I think in the ACC, you've got the doubleheader right there.
- 22:10Speaker 3: I think you've got it, you know, to start in
- 22:11Speaker 3: Charlottesville and then to end to keep you up late
- 22:14Speaker 3: on this Friday night before we go into week eight
- 22:17Speaker 3: of the college football slate on a Saturday.
- 22:19Speaker 1: I think those could be really, really good games. All right.
- 22:21Speaker 1: We've got a lot of Saturday games to talk about, though,
- 22:23Speaker 1: and then we're going to some NFL Sunday as well.
- 22:26Speaker 1: It is the next round. We're live on Sporting State.
- 22:28Speaker 1: We're at Bunkers in Auburn, West Glen. The doors will

- 24:39Speaker 1: It is fun being in a college football town. Now,
- 24:41Speaker 1: we got into Auburn early. Tyler, I am interested. Tyler
- 24:46Speaker 1: grew up in Birmingham, and so did Scott, so for
- 24:50Speaker 1: both of you. And you would have to drive to
- 24:53Speaker 1: Auburn occasionally. Did you ever make the drive, Tyler or Scott,
- 24:56Speaker 1: early in the morning?
- 24:59Speaker 5: Sometimes, yeah. I'm sure I did at some point, yeah.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Did your corneas burn the way mine did for the
- 25:07Speaker 1: last half hour of the drive? You're driving straight into
- 25:10Speaker 1: the rising sun.
- 25:10Speaker 4: That's a rough stretch. It's just a bunch of hills
- 25:15Speaker 4: and just empty land. And you're driving straight into the sun,
- 25:18Speaker 4: like you said.
- 25:20Speaker 1: That's right.
- 25:20Speaker 3: Driving east has always been, that is one thing I've
- 25:23Speaker 3: noticed because we've done this drive a few times.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Now, on the drive down, I slept the whole way.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Lance did not burn his corneas. So you guys, I
- 25:31Speaker 1: want you to know Lance is saved. Um, literally we met, um,
- 25:36Speaker 1: very close to my neighborhood out on two 80 and
- 25:39Speaker 1: from my neighborhood, it's probably a buck 40 to get
- 25:42Speaker 1: to bunkers here. And Lance gets in the car and said, Hey,
- 25:47Speaker 1: I brought a pillow. And I was like, okay, well,
- 25:49Speaker 1: I guess I'll see you in Auburn.
- 25:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:51Speaker 5: Translation.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Good night. That's right. Translation is you're on your own
- 25:55Speaker 1: on this drive.
- 25:55Speaker 8: He's just resting for the drive back, Brownie.
- 25:59Speaker 9: Right.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Well, full disclosure, I allowed that I'd never do this, really.
- 26:04Speaker 3: I let Bullet and Chili sleep in the bed last night. And,
- 26:08Speaker 3: I mean, they get up on my ass, and I
- 26:10Speaker 3: just couldn't sleep. So I finally had to kick them
- 26:12Speaker 3: out at.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Like, 3.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Well, I had my alarm set for 4.30 because I
- 26:15Speaker 3: usually get a morning workout. So I was going to
- 26:16Speaker 3: try to get the morning workout in before I came
- 26:19Speaker 3: to meet you at 6 a.m., And because they kept
- 26:21Speaker 3: me up all night, I couldn't get the morning work.
- 26:23Speaker 1: I completely threw off my entire morning. So just exhausted.
- 26:27Speaker 1: And I appreciate you letting me sleep. No, it's not
- 26:29Speaker 1: a problem. And, I mean, we were on 280. Lance,
- 26:32Speaker 1: I think, made one comment about what I was listening
- 26:34Speaker 1: to on SiriusXM. And then the next thing Lance said
- 26:39Speaker 1: was 15 minutes from Auburn when he said, how far
- 26:41Speaker 1: we got? We're 15 minutes out, my man. You did it.
- 26:46Speaker 1: You slept all the way.
- 26:47Speaker 3: You know, I don't know about you guys. It's hard
- 26:48Speaker 3: for me to relax, like, sleeping. I can't sleep on
- 26:51Speaker 3: a plane. I really can't sleep in a car.
- 26:54Speaker 1: I don't know why.
- 26:54Speaker 3: I just can't really relax in those situations.
- 26:57Speaker 1: You seem to do fine.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Yeah, for me to get that kind of sound sleep,
- 27:00Speaker 3: I was impressed with myself.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, you did quite well. Now, I also, as
- 27:05Speaker 1: not to wake you up, bypassed on breakfast. I was
- 27:08Speaker 1: going to stop at Eatery on the way and get something.
- 27:11Speaker 5: I thought you didn't like breakfast anyway.
- 27:13Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 27:13Speaker 1: I don't like breakfast, Scott, but I've got to eat something. Scott,
- 27:16Speaker 1: if it was his favorite meal, he would have sacrificed
- 27:18Speaker 1: my sleep.
- 27:18Speaker 9: 100%.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Lance would have been awake. But I do appreciate that.
- 27:22Speaker 3: That's really nice because if you would have pulled in,
- 27:24Speaker 3: I mean, you can just sense all those movements.
- 27:26Speaker 1: That's right. You would have awakened. Yeah, I would have.
- 27:28Speaker 1: And I probably would have gotten something to eat and
- 27:30Speaker 1: never gone back to sleep. That's right. I want you
- 27:32Speaker 1: to know. I didn't bring that up to tell you
- 27:34Speaker 1: I sacrificed for you, but I did sacrifice for you.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Okay.
- 27:36Speaker 3: Well, look, I sacrificed for the listeners last week when
- 27:38Speaker 3: I did the Around the World, the 32.
- 27:40Speaker 1: That is true. What are we up to today in bunkers?
- 27:44Speaker 1: On my Diet Cokes?
- 27:46Speaker 4: No.
- 27:46Speaker 1: I don't know. Is there a challenge coming today? Hey,
- 27:48Speaker 1: do you think they'll regret this, guys? They were like,
- 27:52Speaker 1: before they opened, they were like, hey, Brown, let me
- 27:54Speaker 1: show you where the Diet Coke gun is. And is
- 27:58Speaker 1: this number three for me, you think? Probably.
- 28:01Speaker 3: But are they going to regret that more or when
- 28:03Speaker 3: one of the owners told me, hey, look, this sidebar here,
- 28:06Speaker 3: anything you want, just go back there. And I was like,
- 28:08Speaker 3: so I can just grab Bud Light whenever I want.
- 28:10Speaker 3: And he was like, you can make drinks, whatever.
- 28:11Speaker 1: That's right.
- 28:12Speaker 3: So I went back there looking for a bottle of water, guys.
- 28:14Speaker 3: They don't have water here, but they've already got the
- 28:17Speaker 3: Jell-O shots like trays and trays made. And I'm like, damn,
- 28:20Speaker 3: how is there like not a market for water?
- 28:22Speaker 5: What is this, Rocco's? It's got to be on the
- 28:24Speaker 5: mountain though, right? It's got to be like the way
- 28:27Speaker 5: the bartender.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it's almost gone. You got the gun. But, you know,
- 28:30Speaker 1: there's a lot of music for Diet Coke. You know,
- 28:32Speaker 1: there's a lot of people.
- 28:33Speaker 3: And especially when you've got, you know, the somewhat healthy
- 28:36Speaker 3: ladies that are jogging each and every morning and they
- 28:38Speaker 3: come into the bar and they want to. go you
- 28:40Speaker 3: know maybe a a seltzer and then get a water
- 28:43Speaker 3: well they normally want the the purified water that's.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Yeah yeah yeah i've got plenty of that coke if
- 28:49Speaker 1: you need that i can tell.
- 28:50Speaker 3: You right where you get that i mean i i
- 28:52Speaker 3: just used your gun to put a little water in
- 28:54Speaker 3: my water okay.
- 28:54Speaker 6: Good ryan i was amazed last year uh the road
- 28:57Speaker 6: show that i went to before the wisconsin game at
- 29:00Speaker 6: galatz and um I think you went through five or
- 29:04Speaker 6: six Diet Cokes in the three hours.
- 29:07Speaker 5: I guess a little bit longer than that with setup,
- 29:09Speaker 5: but I was amazed.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Believable. I've got an addiction. I don't deny it. I'm addicted.
- 29:15Speaker 1: I think you guys know I can drink some Bud Light.
- 29:17Speaker 1: I can drink some Stella.
- 29:19Speaker 3: I think if I tried to go Bud Light slash
- 29:21Speaker 3: Stella with your Diet Cokes today, I would be sleeping
- 29:24Speaker 3: on the way home.
- 29:24Speaker 1: I would drop you at the hospital on the way
- 29:26Speaker 1: home probably. No, I go heavy on the Diet Cokes.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Do not deny that. Never have. and there have been
- 29:31Speaker 1: all these studies about how bad it is for you,
- 29:33Speaker 1: I only say two things to that. Number one, you've
- 29:37Speaker 1: got to die somehow, right? So I may as well
- 29:39Speaker 1: die having... had what I would like to drink.
- 29:41Speaker 5: What does your wife think about that comment?
- 29:45Speaker 1: She's got an insurance policy. She's got an insurance policy, Brooke.
- 29:48Speaker 1: So if I go from diet coke, she's casting. That's right.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Diet coke and marker consumption, right? Yeah.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:56Speaker 3: I mean, these are things that you can kind of
- 29:58Speaker 3: get away with in a marriage. Like, OK, like you're
- 30:01Speaker 3: killing yourself. You shouldn't do this. But I have added
- 30:04Speaker 3: to the policy.
- 30:05Speaker 1: That's right. I mean, it's my family's taken care of
- 30:08Speaker 1: the minute I kick it. So they're there. You know,
- 30:10Speaker 1: I hope they're sad. I don't want to. I want
- 30:11Speaker 1: to say I hope they're sad. I hope they're fine.
- 30:13Speaker 1: They'll be taken care of. And I recommend anybody do that.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Take care of your family. Make sure they're good. Get
- 30:19Speaker 1: in front of that. Yeah, it's a small monthly expense
- 30:21Speaker 1: for your family being taken care of. That's PSA. Second
- 30:24Speaker 1: part of that is if you look at those studies
- 30:26Speaker 1: on how many Diet Cokes you have to drink for
- 30:29Speaker 1: that stuff to affect you, I don't hit that number. Now,
- 30:32Speaker 1: I've tried, but I don't hit that number. I think
- 30:34Speaker 1: it's like 20 cans a day you would have to drink.
- 30:39Speaker 1: In your heyday, I don't think you drink as much
- 30:42Speaker 1: Diet Coke as you used to. It's close. I mean,
- 30:45Speaker 1: is it a six pack a day? If you can't.
- 30:49Speaker 5: All right.
- 30:49Speaker 1: So let me start my day for you.
- 30:51Speaker 3: Because I'm just wondering, you know, if I go to
- 30:53Speaker 3: the if I go get my annual checkup and I'm
- 30:55Speaker 3: getting my physical and they make you fill out these
- 30:57Speaker 3: little forms and it's like, you know, drink or smoke
- 31:00Speaker 3: or drugs, whatever.
- 31:01Speaker 1: And, you know, I check no on the drugs. I
- 31:04Speaker 1: don't know if edibles count now. I have no idea.
- 31:07Speaker 3: And I check on the smoking and then the alcohol.
- 31:10Speaker 3: And then they're like, how many drinks per week do
- 31:13Speaker 3: you have? And then I start adding it up. And
- 31:15Speaker 3: then when you write it out, you're like, oh, son
- 31:16Speaker 3: of a bitch, that sounds bad. Like if they did
- 31:18Speaker 3: that for Diet Cokes, do you think that they would
- 31:22Speaker 3: guilt you as much as they would guilt somebody that
- 31:24Speaker 3: has X amount per week of alcoholic beverages?
- 31:29Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 31:30Speaker 5: Maybe.
- 31:30Speaker 1: Hang on. Furman's texting me. I got to see if
- 31:32Speaker 1: we got to change to the schedule.
- 31:34Speaker 3: Uh yeah again if you're out driving down right now
- 31:37Speaker 3: come join us at bunkers kitchen social club we've got
- 31:40Speaker 3: bud light specials uh they are going to be setting
- 31:42Speaker 3: up on the patio so it's 9 35 ish right
- 31:44Speaker 3: now 10 o'clock they are going to have bartenders set
- 31:48Speaker 3: up on the patio uh the weather is going to
- 31:51Speaker 3: be beautiful today it was like really cold this morning.
- 31:54Speaker 1: It was but it's going to be perfect today in
- 31:55Speaker 1: the 70s so uh So my apologies for that. I
- 31:58Speaker 1: had to answer a question for Furman real quick. What
- 31:59Speaker 1: was your question? I gave you a- No, my question was,
- 32:02Speaker 1: you know, if you're- It's like I'm back in college.
- 32:03Speaker 1: If I'm getting a physical, they always ask how many
- 32:06Speaker 1: alcoholic beverages per week. And when you write that down,
- 32:09Speaker 1: sometimes you're like, damn, that seems like a lot. And
- 32:11Speaker 1: you kind of maybe pull it back a little bit.
- 32:13Speaker 1: If you went full disclosure on your Diet Cokes, if
- 32:15Speaker 1: that was one of the questions, do you think your
- 32:17Speaker 1: primary would be like, Ryan, you've got to pull back
- 32:20Speaker 1: on this. Yeah, all right. So I'll ask the back room, too.
- 32:23Speaker 1: Everybody can get involved. Is this too much?
- 32:25Speaker 4: So the Mayo Clinic says that drinking two or more
- 32:29Speaker 4: diet beverages a day is linked to a higher risk
- 32:32Speaker 4: of stroke, heart attack, and cardiovascular complications. That 17 to
- 32:37Speaker 4: 20 number was a safety limit for aspartame, specifically. Okay.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Well, I've never had any of those first three things
- 32:44Speaker 1: you mentioned, so I think I'm good. And I've been
- 32:45Speaker 1: drinking Diet Coke a long time, Tyler. Yeah, but I
- 32:47Speaker 1: think it leads to those three things. I mean, I've
- 32:49Speaker 1: had it a long time. If I was going to
- 32:51Speaker 1: have a stroke from Diet Coke, I think it would
- 32:52Speaker 1: have happened. Is this the smoker in his 50s?
- 32:55Speaker 8: You should probably knock on that stage behind you.
- 32:57Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a wild thing to say on this podcast.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Knock on wood. It really is. We can't afford it.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Dunaway over on his... I'm going to die at least
- 33:10Speaker 1: two weeks from now when Jim's back. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 33:13Speaker 1: We also have a corporate insurance policy on me, though, right?
- 33:17Speaker 3: We do have a policy on you and Dunaway. I
- 33:20Speaker 3: think you guys are going to be in a better
- 33:21Speaker 3: spot if I go down. Hey, all right, so tell
- 33:25Speaker 3: me if this is– I'm not pulling for that. Tell
- 33:27Speaker 3: me if this is too much. So I wake up
- 33:29Speaker 3: in the morning. Oh, yeah, do this, and then I'm
- 33:32Speaker 3: going to tell you about Dunaway because I did get
- 33:33Speaker 3: an update.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Okay.
- 33:34Speaker 1: I wake up in the morning. First thing I do
- 33:36Speaker 1: is pee. Okay. That's normal. Well, that's amazing. That's pretty
- 33:41Speaker 1: much what everybody does. Yeah, but it's amazing you make
- 33:43Speaker 1: it throughout the night. You know what? Most of the
- 33:45Speaker 1: time I do. I rarely do I have to get
- 33:47Speaker 1: up and go at night. Yeah, I don't. And then
- 33:50Speaker 1: literally as soon as I pee and wash my hands
- 33:52Speaker 1: and splash some water on my face, I beeline it
- 33:56Speaker 1: to the basement fridge. We don't keep Diet Cokes upstairs.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Beeline it to the basement fridge and get my first
- 34:02Speaker 1: Diet Coke of the day. Cold can that's been marinated.
- 34:06Speaker 1: And there is a difference, by the way. There is
- 34:07Speaker 1: a difference in a can that you've just put in
- 34:10Speaker 1: the fridge and a can that's been in there for
- 34:11Speaker 1: a week or more. You can taste the difference. You
- 34:13Speaker 1: can taste the difference 100%. Do you think that you
- 34:16Speaker 1: have an addiction? Yes. I think I'm about to tell
- 34:19Speaker 1: you I do. Okay. So, yeah, straight to the fridge,
- 34:22Speaker 1: get a cold can. Depending on how early I wake up,
- 34:25Speaker 1: I'll have two of those. Then on the way to
- 34:29Speaker 1: take my daughter to school, either we will go through
- 34:31Speaker 1: a local fast food restaurant. And get a Diet Coke,
- 34:35Speaker 1: and I get the large fountain Diet Coke there. You've
- 34:38Speaker 1: got a problem. Lance, I'm not even at work yet. Oh,
- 34:40Speaker 1: I know. What time is this?
- 34:42Speaker 5: Not even 8 o'clock yet?
- 34:44Speaker 1: Well, I've had two cans before 6. One or two
- 34:48Speaker 1: before 6.
- 34:49Speaker 5: That's quite a pace.
- 34:51Speaker 1: And if I don't have to take my daughter to school,
- 34:53Speaker 1: there's a place that I like to stop that's got
- 34:55Speaker 1: the best fountain Diet Coke and crushed ice. That's where
- 34:59Speaker 1: I stopped this morning before I met you because I
- 35:00Speaker 1: always had to get gassed. How are your teeth not
- 35:03Speaker 1: messed up? They're not. I brush my teeth.
- 35:06Speaker 4: I mean, these are the words of an addict. If
- 35:09Speaker 4: I don't have to take my daughter to school, I've
- 35:11Speaker 4: got this special spot. It's got the best.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I just remember, you know, Dr.
- 35:19Speaker 3: Davis, my dentist back in the day, talking about like
- 35:22Speaker 3: she could tell people that drink like, you know, 15
- 35:25Speaker 3: to 20 sodas a day because she's like their teeth
- 35:27Speaker 3: are destroyed.
- 35:28Speaker 1: I'll probably brush my teeth three to four times a day. Okay. So, yeah,
- 35:34Speaker 1: so then, so I get the fountain. This is where, Tyler,
- 35:38Speaker 1: you're going to think this is crazy. So if I
- 35:39Speaker 1: take my daughter to school, we normally stop at Chick-fil-A
- 35:41Speaker 1: and get breakfast at the drive-thru, and I get a
- 35:44Speaker 1: large there. And by the time I take her to
- 35:46Speaker 1: school and she goes in, I've finished that. So I
- 35:48Speaker 1: stop at a convenience store along the way and refill that.
- 35:51Speaker 1: So that's two large fountain Diet Cokes after I've had
- 35:54Speaker 1: one at the house.
- 35:55Speaker 6: I want to know what your monthly expenditure is on
- 35:57Speaker 6: Diet Cokes.
- 35:59Speaker 1: It's substantial. And then when you get in, you raid
- 36:03Speaker 1: the cooler here. I only have one, if you'll notice.
- 36:07Speaker 1: I only have one. I'm judicious about it.
- 36:09Speaker 3: I do notice that he does only have one during
- 36:11Speaker 3: the four hours. I do try to drink water in
- 36:14Speaker 3: the first half of the show. And when we flip
- 36:16Speaker 3: over to the second half of the next round, I
- 36:19Speaker 3: take a Diet Coke.
- 36:20Speaker 1: That's when I drink my Diet Coke for the day
- 36:22Speaker 1: at 11 o'clock. And then when I get to the
- 36:24Speaker 1: golf course, which is most days, I walk in. And
- 36:30Speaker 1: if it is any of the staff that has been
- 36:32Speaker 1: behind the bar for any amount of time, they immediately
- 36:35Speaker 1: start fixing me one. Which, when my wife sold that,
- 36:39Speaker 1: the first time she went to Inverness with me, and
- 36:41Speaker 1: it was Amanda. She goes, oh, hey, Ryan. Takes a cup,
- 36:45Speaker 1: scoops ice in it, and starts pouring Diet Coke. And
- 36:47Speaker 1: Jennifer goes, is that your Diet Coke? I said, yeah.
- 36:50Speaker 1: She goes, you didn't say a word to her. I said,
- 36:52Speaker 1: I know. They know me here. Yeah, it is. It
- 36:55Speaker 1: is norm, yes. That's exactly what it is.
- 36:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:57Speaker 1: So that's it. By the time I get home, I
- 37:00Speaker 1: generally don't drink it at the house at night. I
- 37:02Speaker 1: drink Arnold Palmer there. How can you? FTF lemonade. But
- 37:08Speaker 1: the other thing about me is caffeine does not keep
- 37:10Speaker 1: me awake. Well, at least you're a functioning addict, right?
- 37:15Speaker 1: I am. I mean, do you think it impacts me
- 37:19Speaker 1: negatively in any way whatsoever? Not yet. Not yet. And
- 37:22Speaker 1: you've been with me a long time. Yep. Now, I
- 37:25Speaker 1: wonder if you were to drop it cold turkey, what
- 37:27Speaker 1: it would do to you.
- 37:29Speaker 4: Yeah, Daniel in the chat says next year's bracket challenge
- 37:32Speaker 4: should be you giving up Diet Coke for a month.
- 37:35Speaker 1: There's no way y'all could police that, and I think
- 37:37Speaker 1: we're done with bracket challenges.
- 37:39Speaker 5: We would need some help policing it.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:42Speaker 10: From Jennifer.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:44Speaker 3: I like to get after it a little bit, but
- 37:45Speaker 3: you know, I, at least once a year I do
- 37:47Speaker 3: these sabbaticals. You know, I did two years ago, I
- 37:49Speaker 3: did 41 days, not a sip. Um, last year I
- 37:52Speaker 3: did 30 days, not a sip. So I can do
- 37:55Speaker 3: it with alcohol. You could definitely do it with Diet Coke,
- 37:57Speaker 3: couldn't you?
- 37:58Speaker 1: Um, I could, I don't know if the caffeine withdrawal
- 38:02Speaker 1: would give me a headache. It would.
- 38:04Speaker 5: It does for the first couple of days.
- 38:07Speaker 4: I went, uh, I went caffeine free at the beginning
- 38:09Speaker 4: of the year and I went like.
- 38:10Speaker 8: Two or three months without it. Um, First couple days
- 38:14Speaker 8: is rough, and then after that, you feel so much better.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Are you back, Tyler?
- 38:20Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, back on the caffeine.
- 38:21Speaker 1: See, that's what happens.
- 38:22Speaker 3: It's so much better, but you know what? Yeah, that's
- 38:25Speaker 3: what an addict does. Pulled me back in.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Yeah, you taste it one time, and you're right back in.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Well, I mean, look, basically, we broadcast from our crack
- 38:32Speaker 3: house for you because you've got a full, like, convenience
- 38:35Speaker 3: store display right behind you.
- 38:38Speaker 8: The guys from Coca-Cola are your dealers.
- 38:41Speaker 1: They really are. They show up like, hey, Brown, Brown,
- 38:45Speaker 1: you can come over here.
- 38:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, can you imagine if Charlie Sheen did
- 38:48Speaker 3: his podcast from a whorehouse?
- 38:49Speaker 1: Yeah. You wouldn't have podcast. So that's kind of the
- 38:54Speaker 1: equivalent of me doing this show sitting right in front
- 38:57Speaker 1: of a coach. You're the closest body to him. Literally, though,
- 39:02Speaker 1: how bad do you think it would be if they
- 39:06Speaker 1: only put Diet Coke in that machine? I mean, really,
- 39:09Speaker 1: I think I would have an issue. Well, I mean,
- 39:12Speaker 1: there's always Diet Coke, so I don't know if that
- 39:14Speaker 1: would be different. No, no, no, but if the whole
- 39:14Speaker 1: machine was just Diet Coke, I'm like, we need to
- 39:16Speaker 1: drink some more Diet Coke.
- 39:17Speaker 8: Yeah, right now he's rationing them, Lance.
- 39:20Speaker 1: I am, because if I drank what I wanted to drink,
- 39:22Speaker 1: we would run out of Diet Coke, and I don't
- 39:23Speaker 1: want to do that. Bo drinks them. Jim drinks them.
- 39:26Speaker 1: I don't know if any of the backroom guys drink them.
- 39:28Speaker 5: My wife likes an occasional Diet Coke. I'll take one
- 39:30Speaker 5: home to her.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Yeah, so see, Brooks will take one home to his wife. Hey,
- 39:34Speaker 1: you saw my wife at the grocery store yesterday, she said, Brooks.
- 39:37Speaker 5: I did see her at Publix yesterday with my daughter.
- 39:39Speaker 1: How about that? Yeah, she said your daughter's beautiful. Um, random, but, uh, no, no, no.
- 39:44Speaker 1: So if it was full of diet Coke, I would
- 39:46Speaker 1: feel like I'm, I try to limit the diet Coke.
- 39:49Speaker 1: I drink at the, at the studio because I don't
- 39:51Speaker 1: want to steal from Bo and Jim and Brooke's wife.
- 39:53Speaker 1: I mean, I'm trying to be a good, yeah.
- 39:56Speaker 5: Really taking one for the team there.
- 39:59Speaker 1: I am a guy. So I'm a giver. I'm a giver.
- 40:01Speaker 1: I'm taking one for the team. All right. Well, What's
- 40:04Speaker 1: your Jim story? Lance said he had something. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 40:06Speaker 1: I'm talking about Jim in Ireland. Okay, so he sent me.
- 40:09Speaker 3: He said, I just finished the IRA tour.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Irish gangs are hell on wheels. Boy, they are.
- 40:14Speaker 3: Whitey sent money from Atlantic City to support his side.
- 40:19Speaker 3: And so I was just saying, yeah, that was a
- 40:20Speaker 3: big deal back in the. And I just said, how
- 40:22Speaker 3: was the flight? He said, no problem, smooth. I haven't
- 40:24Speaker 3: been asleep yet.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what he said. He was going to push
- 40:27Speaker 1: all the way through, right? Yeah, so, boy, I bet
- 40:29Speaker 1: he's giddy. Yeah, I would imagine. Yeah, when Jim is
- 40:32Speaker 1: low on sleep, he turns into Punchy Jim, which is
- 40:37Speaker 1: normally really good for the show. I don't know how
- 40:39Speaker 1: it is to travel with him, though. But he does
- 40:41Speaker 1: have better– God, I hate to say it that way.
- 40:43Speaker 1: His shows are good when he's Punchy Jim. I think
- 40:45Speaker 1: even he would admit that.
- 40:46Speaker 5: Or Tequila Jim.
- 40:48Speaker 1: Or Tequila Jim. I've seen that, too. It's an interesting
- 40:51Speaker 1: show as well, Scott. All right, Todd Furman is coming
- 40:54Speaker 1: up in about 15 minutes. We're going to get to
- 40:55Speaker 1: some of these games when we come back. We're live
- 40:57Speaker 1: at Bunkers in Auburn. West Glen is where you find Bunkers.
- 41:00Speaker 1: If you want to swing by, the doors will open soon.
- 41:02Speaker 1: We'll have some drink specials here that will serve a
- 41:04Speaker 1: great lunch or just blocks from Jordan-Hare Stadium, where LSU
- 41:08Speaker 1: will take on the Auburn Tigers tomorrow in SEC play
- 41:11Speaker 1: at 11 a.m. It is the next round of Sports
- 41:15Speaker 1: State presented by Hard Rock Bet.
- 41:17Speaker 10: This year, the biggest sportsbook party's getting even bigger.
- 41:21Speaker 1: Hey, there's J-Boy.
- 41:22Speaker 10: Whether you just getting here or you been here, you're
- 41:24Speaker 10: not leaving here empty-handed.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Hey, J. Jimmy Johnson. Kevin, they know me?
- 41:31Speaker 9: Of course.
- 41:31Speaker 10: In this party, everybody's somebody. This season, Hard Rock Bet
- 41:35Speaker 10: has something for everyone.
- 41:37Speaker 7: Plus, new customers bet $ 5 and get up to $ 500
- 41:39Speaker 7: in no-sweat bets.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Hey, that's Fat Joe. Forget him. That's J-Boy.
- 41:43Speaker 10: Hey, J-Boy.
- 41:44Speaker 1: My name's J-Boy. I got that. I got that. All right,
- 41:49Speaker 1: we are back on the next round presented by Hard
- 41:52Speaker 1: Rock Bet on Sporting State. We're about to talk some games,
- 41:54Speaker 1: and Furman is going to join us in about 15
- 41:55Speaker 1: minutes to talk even more games. A reminder, Crockett Coffee.

- 42:52Speaker 1: good coffee. It's made in America, and it's doing some
- 42:54Speaker 1: good as well. CrockettCoffee.com. That's Crockett, C-R-O-C-K-E-T-T-Coffee.com. All right, let's
- 43:03Speaker 1: talk about some of these games. I want to start
- 43:05Speaker 1: in the early window with Pitt, Miami, 11 o'clock ESPN.
- 43:09Speaker 1: We live in a world of college football where a
- 43:11Speaker 1: 20-point underdog winning outright really no longer just blows our
- 43:16Speaker 1: socks off. I mean, even Auburn winning at Georgia, you're like, man,
- 43:19Speaker 1: I did not see that coming. But you even then say, yeah,
- 43:22Speaker 1: but it's happened a lot of weeks. It is not
- 43:24Speaker 1: a one-week deal where a 20-point underdog wins outright. That's
- 43:28Speaker 1: what we find with Pitt is being somewhere around a
- 43:31Speaker 1: 20-point underdog. Do you think there is any shot Pitt
- 43:35Speaker 1: has a chance to win this game early? Probably a
- 43:38Speaker 1: sleepy hard rock. Stadium crowd in Miami.
- 43:41Speaker 3: Well, they gave up Miami in that overtime win. The
- 43:44Speaker 3: most points they've given up this year, the most yards
- 43:47Speaker 3: they've given up this year, and the most yards per play,
- 43:50Speaker 3: almost seven yards per play for.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Ashton Daniels in that Florida State offense.
- 43:53Speaker 3: If Mason Heichel was starting this game for Pat Narduzzi
- 43:57Speaker 3: and Pitt, I would think that they've got a fighting chance.
- 43:59Speaker 3: But because he's not, and I don't think they've named
- 44:01Speaker 3: a starting quarterback.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Like, they can't find that guy behind him.
- 44:06Speaker 3: And, yeah, that's been a big problem for Pitt who had,
- 44:08Speaker 3: you know, an expectation of maybe being one of these
- 44:10Speaker 3: dark horses. It was preseason. I think I had them
- 44:13Speaker 3: at 24, 25. I thought it was going to be
- 44:15Speaker 3: a better than advertised Pitt team. But you lose your
- 44:17Speaker 3: starting quarterback. These things happen. I just think Miami too
- 44:20Speaker 3: much offense.
- 44:21Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 44:23Speaker 1: And we say this, I don't have the numbers to
- 44:24Speaker 1: back it up, but I do feel like it is
- 44:26Speaker 1: true that Pat Narduzzi seems to find a win in
- 44:29Speaker 1: situations maybe not as big as this, but he seems
- 44:34Speaker 1: like he'll pull an upset every now and then, Pat
- 44:35Speaker 1: Narduzzi does. Now, I don't have the numbers in front
- 44:37Speaker 1: of me to say, oh, he's, you know, as a
- 44:39Speaker 1: 14-point underdog, this is his record.
- 44:42Speaker 3: But you know how this normally works. We had complete
- 44:44Speaker 3: carnage last week.
- 44:45Speaker 1: That's right.
- 44:46Speaker 3: So this weekend, it seems like it's going to be
- 44:49Speaker 3: a very vanilla by-the-book weekend. Of course, we may be
- 44:52Speaker 3: We never get any more of those moving forward in
- 44:54Speaker 3: the world of college football that we live today. But
- 44:58Speaker 3: I think it's setting up for Halloween weekend or that
- 45:00Speaker 3: big weekend.
- 45:01Speaker 1: Of the 7th. Things could get interesting for Indiana if
- 45:05Speaker 1: they fall at Michigan. That's the Fox big noon kick.
- 45:08Speaker 1: Gus Klatt, the All-American girl on that game. Indiana obviously
- 45:12Speaker 1: took a loss against Ohio State last week if they
- 45:15Speaker 1: lose back-to-back, which they haven't done since Signetti was there, obviously.
- 45:19Speaker 1: But if they lose back-to-back, now they've got two losses
- 45:21Speaker 1: against And the college football playoff becomes an issue for them, potentially.
- 45:26Speaker 1: Any shot, Michigan wins this game.
- 45:28Speaker 3: The problem is you're going against the best scoring defense
- 45:31Speaker 3: in the Big Ten in Indiana. And Michigan's got the
- 45:34Speaker 3: 17th worst scoring offense in the Big Ten. 105th nationally
- 45:38Speaker 3: in scoring offense. 22 points per game. Going against a
- 45:42Speaker 3: defense that gives up absolutely nothing. Indiana attacks a quarterback.
- 45:45Speaker 3: 24 sacks on the year. And Tommy Carr. getting that
- 45:48Speaker 3: first start, I do think it's going to ultimately be
- 45:51Speaker 3: an upgrade. And I think internally, Michigan is excited. And
- 45:54Speaker 3: those guys in that locker room are excited for Carr
- 45:56Speaker 3: to go out there and lead them. This would be
- 45:59Speaker 3: amazing because I know it doesn't look like it. Michigan's
- 46:02Speaker 3: only got two losses. This is kind of like an
- 46:04Speaker 3: Auburn situation. Like if Michigan was to upset Indiana tomorrow
- 46:09Speaker 3: as a seven and a half point underdog, Then all
- 46:11Speaker 3: of a sudden, hey, we did it with a new quarterback.
- 46:13Speaker 3: We saw how the offense looked last week once we
- 46:16Speaker 3: brought Carr in.
- 46:17Speaker 1: Now we've got a little momentum here. How does this
- 46:20Speaker 1: thing play out?
- 46:20Speaker 3: Because games like Indiana and Ohio State seemed unwinnable a
- 46:24Speaker 3: couple of weeks ago. And now if you're able to
- 46:27Speaker 3: beat Indiana at home, Indiana coming off that physical game
- 46:30Speaker 3: against the Buckeyes, Ohio State is not even close to
- 46:33Speaker 3: being healthy.
- 46:34Speaker 1: We once looked at their schedule for Michigan and said,
- 46:38Speaker 1: Kyle Whittingham, good coach. I don't know about Underwood. Schedule
- 46:41Speaker 1: too tough anyway. You've got to play Oklahoma at home. Well,
- 46:44Speaker 1: that was a win. You've got to play Penn State
- 46:46Speaker 1: at home. Penn State has not been what we thought
- 46:48Speaker 1: they were going to be. They win that game 21-18.
- 46:51Speaker 1: You've got to play Indiana at home. All of a sudden,
- 46:54Speaker 1: it doesn't look as daunting as it once did. Still
- 46:56Speaker 1: not an easy win. You've got to go to Oregon. Well,
- 46:59Speaker 1: Oregon is a shell of what we thought they were
- 47:00Speaker 1: going to be. You've got to go to Ohio State. Well,
- 47:03Speaker 1: Ohio State's going to be on a backup quarterback. Oddly,
- 47:06Speaker 1: the one game we never brought up in the offseason
- 47:09Speaker 1: that they still have to play, right between Oregon and
- 47:12Speaker 1: Ohio State, is hosting UCLA. Now, that is November 21st.
- 47:18Speaker 1: I'm going to guess, they don't have time on that
- 47:20Speaker 1: game yet. It'll be a day game because Big Ten
- 47:23Speaker 1: does not like to play night games in November. Old,
- 47:27Speaker 1: cold game for UCLA. That screams Michigan right there.
- 47:30Speaker 3: Well, and you just wonder at that point with Diefenbach
- 47:32Speaker 3: and backup quarterback situation for Bob Chessie.
- 47:35Speaker 1: Has the bubble burst. Yeah, they've already taken on a
- 47:37Speaker 1: loss or two at that point.
- 47:38Speaker 3: But I will say this UCLA team is more equipped
- 47:41Speaker 3: for cold weather than any I've seen in the history
- 47:44Speaker 3: since I've been watching college football as far as.
- 47:46Speaker 1: A UCLA team. It's a style of play. It's a
- 47:48Speaker 1: style of play, man.
- 47:49Speaker 3: They're so physical defensively and same offensively.
- 47:53Speaker 1: They want to run it down your throat. So they
- 47:55Speaker 1: are built like an old school Big Ten team. Yeah.
- 47:59Speaker 1: But that schedule still just looks like too much for
- 48:01Speaker 1: a two loss team, doesn't it? It does. Yes. I mean,
- 48:04Speaker 1: when you've got to beat, they still have to beat
- 48:06Speaker 1: Indiana on the road at Oregon, UCLA at home and
- 48:08Speaker 1: at Ohio State. I just I don't know that you
- 48:10Speaker 1: can win much like Auburn.
- 48:11Speaker 3: You know, I think, you know, the expectations for both
- 48:14Speaker 3: Michigan and Auburn with first year coaches a little bit different.
- 48:18Speaker 3: I think there were Michigan fans that believe with Cal
- 48:20Speaker 3: Whittingham and that track record, maybe they could come in
- 48:22Speaker 3: and Maybe Underwood was really going to develop from year
- 48:25Speaker 3: one to year two, and maybe they could have a
- 48:27Speaker 3: special year. I think for Auburn, the expectation was a
- 48:30Speaker 3: little bit different, but I think both of those teams,
- 48:33Speaker 3: with two losses, I'm not buying into either one of
- 48:37Speaker 3: those teams being a realistic playoff contender.
- 48:40Speaker 1: But you're right. If you beat Indiana, you've at least
- 48:42Speaker 1: got to start including Michigan in the conversation until they
- 48:45Speaker 1: play their way out of the conversation.
- 48:46Speaker 3: Look, I think Cignetti is the best coach in today's
- 48:49Speaker 3: college football, but I've always said, Good coaches win, great
- 48:52Speaker 3: coaches cover. You know what their number is against the
- 48:54Speaker 3: spread this year? They're 6-1 straight up. I'm going to
- 48:58Speaker 3: guess against the spread they're 6-1?
- 49:01Speaker 1: They're 1-6. Ooh.
- 49:04Speaker 3: Yeah, so, you know, they've inflated the Indiana number a
- 49:06Speaker 3: little bit, and Indiana hasn't been able to get home
- 49:08Speaker 3: and get to the window, but it's an 11 o'clock game.
- 49:12Speaker 1: I'm not touching it. Very difficult game. The real team
- 49:15Speaker 1: we'd never talk about enough. And they've got to buy. No,
- 49:18Speaker 1: they're at Minnesota as Iowa. I was still a one
- 49:21Speaker 1: loss team. Their only loss is that game at home
- 49:23Speaker 1: against Ohio State. When Ohio State was whole, their remaining
- 49:26Speaker 1: schedule is not daunting at all. Not at all. And
- 49:29Speaker 1: it's Alabama like in the SEC.
- 49:31Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 49:32Speaker 1: They are at Minnesota Saturday, which is, you know, look,
- 49:35Speaker 1: I mean, what's the point spread in that game? Probably.
- 49:37Speaker 1: You drew Bucky for our upset alert. What did I do?
- 49:41Speaker 1: Seven and a half is what I did. Seven and
- 49:43Speaker 1: a half?
- 49:43Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 49:44Speaker 1: Which seems kind of like a big number.
- 49:46Speaker 3: Like, you know, if this thing was adjusted two or
- 49:49Speaker 3: three weeks ago, Iowa would be a two and a
- 49:51Speaker 3: half point favorite.
- 49:52Speaker 1: Right. So it seems like it's a little inflated. Like,
- 49:55Speaker 1: you know, I think this kind of. I don't know.
- 49:58Speaker 1: I lean Minnesota, but the number seems a little too large. Yeah,
- 50:01Speaker 1: and for them, homecoming with Wisconsin, the battle for the
- 50:04Speaker 1: Heartland game. Yeah, that's a coin flip game. Okay. At Northwestern?
- 50:10Speaker 1: Another coin flip game. Purdue? Not a coin flip. No,
- 50:13Speaker 1: they'll beat Purdue. At Iowa City? Yeah. At Illinois? I mean,
- 50:18Speaker 1: they should win that game, but on the road. And
- 50:21Speaker 1: then host Nebraska. Yeah, and they should win that game.
- 50:25Speaker 1: I mean, Iowa has got a path to this thing. Yeah,
- 50:27Speaker 1: that's actually an easier schedule in the Big Ten than
- 50:29Speaker 1: Alabama's got.
- 50:31Speaker 3: I don't know how Iowa loses more than one game.
- 50:33Speaker 3: I mean, more than one more game, which puts them
- 50:35Speaker 3: at two losses. Look, and this would be a great
- 50:38Speaker 3: situation for Kirk Ferentz. Maybe he gets to retire the
- 50:42Speaker 3: longest-tenured coach currently in the FBS. He gets to go
- 50:46Speaker 3: out with his first-ever college football playoff appearance.
- 50:48Speaker 1: I'll tell you, another two-loss team that is probably not
- 50:51Speaker 1: going to get it.
- 50:51Speaker 3: By the way, if they hosted it, let's say that
- 50:53Speaker 3: they got home with one or two losses and got
- 50:56Speaker 3: to host that 8-9.
- 50:57Speaker 1: Iowa? Yeah, Iowa City that late in the year with
- 51:00Speaker 1: that defense. Boy, that would be a tough ask for
- 51:03Speaker 1: somebody to roll in there. Yeah, terrible weather game in
- 51:05Speaker 1: all likelihood, playing in snow and sleet and cold. Another
- 51:09Speaker 1: two-loss team, and they've lost two games by six total
- 51:12Speaker 1: points in the Big Ten. That probably everyone has slammed
- 51:16Speaker 1: the door shut on right now, and they're on a
- 51:18Speaker 1: bye this week. But when you look at the remainder
- 51:20Speaker 1: of their schedule, if they can pop an upset, they'll
- 51:23Speaker 1: have a game to go to the playoffs, and that
- 51:25Speaker 1: is Nebraska. Nebraska hosts Washington coming out of the bye.
- 51:29Speaker 1: Washington's a mess. Nebraska will be favored in that game.
- 51:32Speaker 5: Yep.
- 51:33Speaker 1: They're at Illinois. Illinois has been kind of a mess.
- 51:35Speaker 1: Nebraska may not be favored, but it wouldn't surprise you
- 51:38Speaker 1: if they win that game. They're at Rutgers. Rutgers is
- 51:41Speaker 1: a complete mess. Then it gets real. They host Ohio State.
- 51:45Speaker 1: But it's a game in Lincoln against Ohio State, who, again,
- 51:49Speaker 1: is playing a backup quarterback. I mean, if if they
- 51:52Speaker 1: can figure out a way to win these next four,
- 51:54Speaker 1: they go to Iowa and probably the winner of that
- 51:57Speaker 1: game is in the college football playoff. It's hard to.
- 51:59Speaker 3: Believe, but I mean, you go back to Nebraska where
- 52:01Speaker 3: they were up 17-6 in the fourth quarter, hosting Indiana.
- 52:04Speaker 1: If you hold on there. And then, damn, last week.
- 52:08Speaker 1: I know. They lead all the way to the very
- 52:09Speaker 1: end at Oregon. Yeah. So they've had their opportunities.
- 52:12Speaker 3: And I know Matt Rule probably hasn't slept in the
- 52:14Speaker 3: last couple of weeks because you just get one of those.
- 52:17Speaker 3: You're in a really, really good spot because I do
- 52:20Speaker 3: think at that point an incomplete Ohio State still probably
- 52:24Speaker 3: beats them. But if you can lead by double digits
- 52:27Speaker 3: in the fourth quarter over Indiana, why can't you do
- 52:30Speaker 3: it against Ohio State?
- 52:31Speaker 1: With a backup quarterback.
- 52:32Speaker 3: But even with a loss there, if you would have
- 52:34Speaker 3: won one of those other games, then it does come
- 52:36Speaker 3: down to that.
- 52:37Speaker 1: They could have closed the deal against Oregon or against Indiana.
- 52:40Speaker 1: It really doesn't matter.
- 52:41Speaker 3: Again, Nebraska, I would put them in the same category
- 52:43Speaker 3: as Auburn or Michigan. I don't think there's a chance.
- 52:45Speaker 1: You've got to talk about them until they play themselves out,
- 52:47Speaker 1: and they'll probably play themselves out. But they've got two
- 52:51Speaker 1: losses by a total of six points. That's tough luck there.
- 52:54Speaker 1: against one or two quality opponents in Indiana and Oregon.
- 52:57Speaker 1: All right, we've got a lot more games we're going
- 52:59Speaker 1: to get to, and Todd Furman is going to join
- 53:01Speaker 1: us to talk about those. Hardrock.bet is where you go.
- 53:05Speaker 1: Hardrock.bet backslash clay. When you use backslash clay, you play $ 50.
- 53:09Speaker 1: You can get up to $ 500. And the No Sweat Bets,
- 53:13Speaker 1: I use those up in Tennessee. It's great to do.
- 53:15Speaker 1: You can do that right there at hardrock.bet backslash clay
- 53:19Speaker 1: where available. And we're legal, hardrock.bet backslash clay. We'll get
- 53:24Speaker 1: all the point spreads and talk all the other games
- 53:26Speaker 1: with Todd Furman. He joins us next. It is the
- 53:28Speaker 1: next round of Torn State presented by Hard Rock Bet.
- 53:34Speaker 1: You're sitting in my seat. Hey, Jimmy, we gave you
- 53:37Speaker 1: a seat to my new buddy. What's your name?
- 53:39Speaker 9: Bill.
- 53:39Speaker 1: My new buddy, Bill. Bill, he'll bet $ 5 soon. And
- 53:42Speaker 1: won $ 3, 300 on Hard Rock Bet. It's Bill's seat now, Jimmy.
- 53:48Speaker 1: Maybe I'll... I'll come back later. If you do, bring
- 53:52Speaker 1: a water, Jim. And a hot dog. A little hot dog? Yeah,
- 53:55Speaker 1: I'll take the hot dog. Bill wants hot dog. Hot
- 53:58Speaker 1: dog for Bill. Millions of winners and counting. Don't forget
- 54:01Speaker 1: the relish. All right, we continue on the next round.
- 54:06Speaker 1: We're live in Auburn at Bunkers. Hard Rock Bet brings
- 54:10Speaker 1: you the show here on Sporting State. Hard Rock Bet. Hardrock.bet.com. Hardrock.bet.com.
- 54:16Speaker 1: Backslash Clay. I don't know if they're doing the counter
- 54:18Speaker 1: back in Birmingham. This is number three. If you're doing
- 54:21Speaker 1: the counter, it's number three. Can you top the Around
- 54:24Speaker 1: the World last week? How many did you have? 30-something?
- 54:27Speaker 1: I think in pure volume, I will pass it. In
- 54:32Speaker 1: pure number, absolutely not. I cannot drink 30 of these.
- 54:35Speaker 1: I believe that will be bad for my health. That
- 54:39Speaker 1: would be a little dangerous. We redline you at that point.
- 54:42Speaker 1: That point at the board podcast is part of sporting state. Now,
- 54:46Speaker 1: Todd Furman is also part of sports state and he
- 54:49Speaker 1: joins us every single Friday on the show at this time.
- 54:53Speaker 1: Talk about all the upcoming games out in Vegas.
- 54:55Speaker 9: Furman.
- 54:56Speaker 1: What is up, my friend? How are you?
- 54:58Speaker 8: Uh, sorry about that. Uh, got a little delay back here.
- 55:02Speaker 8: I will let you know when he's up.
- 55:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 55:04Speaker 1: Just fire me a text. That was a heck of
- 55:05Speaker 1: a heck of an intro for Furman. Yeah, really? Well,
- 55:08Speaker 1: I don't know if you can stick that one again. Yeah.
- 55:11Speaker 1: Good luck with it. I mean, I'll do my best.
- 55:14Speaker 1: While we wait on Furman, can you tell me about
- 55:15Speaker 1: Clay Travis Law? I can, yeah. I sure can.
- 55:18Speaker 3: Accidents do not wait for a good time. One bad moment,
- 55:21Speaker 3: a wreck, a fall, a doctor who wasn't paying attention. Suddenly,
- 55:24Speaker 3: you are fighting an insurance company that does this every
- 55:27Speaker 3: single day. That's why Clay started Clay Travis Law. Built
- 55:29Speaker 3: a firm around one idea. People deserve someone willing to
- 55:32Speaker 3: pay attention, ask those hard questions, and push back when
- 55:35Speaker 3: things don't add up. Experienced trial attorneys who bring the
- 55:38Speaker 3: fight to corporations and insurers are based in Nashville, trusted
- 55:41Speaker 3: across the country. Here's what they're going to promise.
- 55:43Speaker 1: Honesty. They're not going to sugarcoat your case. You're going
- 55:45Speaker 1: to hear what it's actually worth. Not what you want
- 55:47Speaker 1: to hear. Case evaluation is free. No charge, no pressure,
- 55:52Speaker 1: no hassle. Just tell them your story.
- 55:54Speaker 3: Go to claytravislaw.com or call 877-222-4444.
- 55:59Speaker 1: That's claytravislaw.com. No case too big or too small. While
- 56:03Speaker 1: we wait on Furman, Texas Tech, Cincinnati. Do you see
- 56:08Speaker 1: any path to upset with Cincinnati causing a little bit
- 56:10Speaker 1: of early chaos at home? Yeah, I don't think so.
- 56:12Speaker 1: 11 o'clock game.
- 56:13Speaker 3: Again, you know, Texas Tech coming off the 53 points.
- 56:16Speaker 3: Will Hammond didn't play well, but they were able to
- 56:18Speaker 3: run the football down Arizona State's throat. We backed Arizona
- 56:21Speaker 3: a couple of weeks ago. That late night game against Cincinnati.
- 56:24Speaker 3: Cincinnati was completely awful in that game. Yeah, I think
- 56:29Speaker 3: a little too much Texas Tech. Again, coming off a
- 56:33Speaker 3: six sack performance against the Sun Devils. Yeah, I don't
- 56:37Speaker 3: think Cincinnati's got anything for them.
- 56:39Speaker 1: All right, Furman is with us now. Bet the Board podcast,
- 56:42Speaker 1: part of Sporting State, as is Todd Furman. He joins
- 56:44Speaker 1: us from Vegas at this time each week. Furman, what
- 56:47Speaker 1: is up, my man? How are you?
- 56:49Speaker 9: I'm doing well this morning, gentlemen. But before we get
- 56:51Speaker 9: into the games themselves, do you have a full list
- 56:53Speaker 9: of who Dunaway has picked so I can avoid being
- 56:56Speaker 9: on any of the same sides and save the trouble
- 56:59Speaker 9: and heartache for the loyal listeners out there with the
- 57:01Speaker 9: next round live?
- 57:02Speaker 1: Well, let me say this, Furman.
- 57:03Speaker 3: I was on with our friends V-CEN the other night,
- 57:06Speaker 3: and I gave them a Jimmy Landmine story because, you know,
- 57:09Speaker 3: I think it was Matt Yeomans. He was like, man,
- 57:12Speaker 3: I just, you know, Ole Miss just seems like a
- 57:14Speaker 3: really good play. And I think he's a contrarian like
- 57:16Speaker 3: we are. And I said, I just got to tell you,
- 57:19Speaker 3: between Clay Travis being all over Ole Miss and Jim
- 57:22Speaker 3: Dunaway being all over Ole Miss, I don't know how
- 57:25Speaker 3: Texas is going to do this and cover this number,
- 57:27Speaker 3: but they're going to cover the number. So just to
- 57:30Speaker 3: answer your question, though, he's all over Ole Miss. He's
- 57:32Speaker 3: all over Tennessee, of course, getting points against South Carolina.
- 57:36Speaker 3: And he's all over LSU laying points against Auburn. I
- 57:38Speaker 3: think that's his pick three. Oh, is that his pick three?
- 57:40Speaker 1: I think so. Oh, Forrester's actually got it. If you
- 57:44Speaker 1: want Forrester, he's got Dunaway's pick three. Scott, can you
- 57:48Speaker 1: share it with us and Todd?
- 57:49Speaker 4: Well, Lance just spit them out.
- 57:54Speaker 1: Ole Miss plus three and a half. Tennessee plus two
- 57:58Speaker 1: and a half.
- 57:58Speaker 5: And LSU minus seven and a half.
- 58:01Speaker 1: Yeah, I stored it in my brain. Okay, my apologies.
- 58:05Speaker 1: I didn't know he had even made it that apparent.
- 58:08Speaker 9: The only game that I actually would agree with Dunaway
- 58:10Speaker 9: there is LSU. I think it's a spot that Auburn's
- 58:12Speaker 9: going to have to try and run it back, and
- 58:14Speaker 9: we know how improbable their win was last week, upsetting
- 58:18Speaker 9: Georgia as nearly a three-toucher and underdog. By Bill Connolly's standards,
- 58:21Speaker 9: it was the unlikeliest winner that we have seen in
- 58:24Speaker 9: a college football game. So far this season with more
- 58:26Speaker 9: than 300 data points, but I'm not running away points
- 58:28Speaker 9: with LSU on the road. Haven't seen enough consistency there. However,
- 58:32Speaker 9: the other two games you guys mentioned, there are no
- 58:34Speaker 9: doubt plenty of people that think they found free money
- 58:37Speaker 9: looking to back Tennessee in the wake of their dominant
- 58:39Speaker 9: performance against Alabama last week. This is a ball team.
- 58:43Speaker 9: No playing for the eighth straight week. against a rested
- 58:46Speaker 9: South Carolina team. And we've kind of seen the blueprint
- 58:49Speaker 9: that Tennessee has to deploy. It's been a good one.
- 58:51Speaker 9: Run the football with Deshaun Bishop, tell George McIntyre not
- 58:54Speaker 9: to screw things up and lean into their defense to
- 58:56Speaker 9: get stopped. I think South Carolina showed that they're capable
- 59:00Speaker 9: of stopping the run, much like they did in their
- 59:02Speaker 9: win against Florida, where they won that game outright as
- 59:04Speaker 9: a double-digit dog. So I have no problem if you're
- 59:06Speaker 9: looking for a cheaper money line price tag, right around
- 59:09Speaker 9: minus $ 1.
- 59:09Speaker 1: 30.
- 59:09Speaker 9: On South Carolina, would feel a little bit more comfortable there.
- 59:13Speaker 9: than even laying the two and a half. And to
- 59:15Speaker 9: your point LT on that Ole Miss Texas game, I mean,
- 59:18Speaker 9: we have seen this tale a thousand times in this business.
- 59:21Speaker 9: Everyone wants to eulogize a college football program because their
- 59:24Speaker 9: season is dead and buried. Here comes the flavor of
- 59:27Speaker 9: the week in Ole Miss that people were skeptical of
- 59:29Speaker 9: last week. And keep in mind, Ole Miss closes just
- 59:32Speaker 9: a three and a half point favorite against Missouri last week.
- 59:35Speaker 9: That game was bet by professional bettors, albeit incorrectly, from
- 59:39Speaker 9: six down to three and a half. It is no
- 59:41Speaker 9: doubt looking to make a case for Texas. To your point,
- 59:43Speaker 9: I'm not sure how they get it done without their
- 59:45Speaker 9: most dynamic defensive player either. But you feel desperation here,
- 59:49Speaker 9: season hanging in the balance. This is the ultimate buy
- 59:51Speaker 9: low spot in college football with Texas this weekend, minus
- 59:54Speaker 9: a three.
- 59:55Speaker 3: Okay, I've got to go back to last weekend because
- 59:57Speaker 3: Brown and I watched all these games and this carnage
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: up in the mountains as we did a little broadcast
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: getting ready for Alabama-Tennessee. Sounds like a Marshall Tucker song.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: Well, Brown had it. Carnage in the mountains. Brown had it.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: That would be a good title. A good title. Brown
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: had downloaded the Hard Rock Bet app, and so he
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: was so antsy. He's like, Georgia cannot lose this game.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: And you and I were texting, and he texted you, Furman,
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: and I'm like, the way they have set this halftime number, like,
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: Auburn is winning this game outright.
- 1:00:24Speaker 9: Right.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: Auburn ends up winning the game. The same with Tennessee, Alabama.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: I saved him from that. I'm like, do not jump
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: on Alabama here. Tennessee is going to win this game.
- 1:00:32Speaker 3: With all that said, and with all this carnage, how
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: did these sportsbooks, I would assume they mopped during the day.
- 1:00:38Speaker 3: I know nighttime, that night window was probably a little rough,
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: but overall, how was it?
- 1:00:45Speaker 9: When you look at any of those marquee games, especially
- 1:00:47Speaker 9: when you have the big favorites going down, it's going
- 1:00:49Speaker 9: to be a boon for the sportsbook. The two biggest decisions,
- 1:00:52Speaker 9: at least that I were told, was Tennessee winning the
- 1:00:54Speaker 9: game outright against Alabama. Georgia was a huge public play,
- 1:00:59Speaker 9: but at the same time, not as nearly as much
- 1:01:01Speaker 9: volume given the you know, nature of the number and
- 1:01:03Speaker 9: how big that price was. And then the other big
- 1:01:06Speaker 9: one at night, you had a lot of people that
- 1:01:07Speaker 9: were tying Notre Dame into Moneyline parlays as well to
- 1:01:10Speaker 9: be able to get things done. So when you have
- 1:01:12Speaker 9: that level of chaos, it is typically a boon for
- 1:01:15Speaker 9: the sports book. And the same thing applies to the NFL.
- 1:01:17Speaker 9: And typically on a Sunday, all they're looking for is
- 1:01:20Speaker 9: one of those big underdogs, not just to cover, but
- 1:01:22Speaker 9: to win a game outright.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: All right, Todd Furman with us, part of Sporting State,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: Bet the Board podcast, at Todd Furman on social media.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: One of those three touchdown dogs that would shock the
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: college football world would be Pitt if they can get
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: this one home. We talked about it earlier. We don't
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: like their quarterback situation, obviously, but is there a path
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: for Pitt that you could see?
- 1:01:44Speaker 9: Very difficult for me to try and find a way,
- 1:01:47Speaker 9: only because the way Pitt has been able to find
- 1:01:50Speaker 9: some success defensively is stopping the run, but they are
- 1:01:52Speaker 9: extremely vulnerable over the top. Now, Pitt may be getting
- 1:01:55Speaker 9: a fortuitous bounce here from Mother Nature. When you look
- 1:01:58Speaker 9: at the forecast for South Florida for tomorrow's game, we
- 1:02:01Speaker 9: could have some pretty strong winds. If that's into the mix, look,
- 1:02:04Speaker 9: weather becomes the great equalizer. But on the other side
- 1:02:07Speaker 9: of things for Pitt and the revolving door, a quarterback,
- 1:02:09Speaker 9: the biggest vulnerability I've seen from Miami early on in
- 1:02:12Speaker 9: the season, Wake Forest was able to exploit a little bit,
- 1:02:14Speaker 9: Florida State to a lesser extent, even in a tighter
- 1:02:16Speaker 9: football game, is a defensive backfield that I think has
- 1:02:19Speaker 9: dealt with a ton of injuries. And even getting those
- 1:02:21Speaker 9: players back, there just hasn't been that level of continuity.
- 1:02:24Speaker 9: I don't think Pitt is the kind of team that
- 1:02:25Speaker 9: can do that. And I really believe Miami got a
- 1:02:28Speaker 9: wake-up call last week. So I don't think Pitt keeps
- 1:02:30Speaker 9: this game particularly close. And if anything, guys, I'd be
- 1:02:33Speaker 9: closer to laying a three-touchdown tariff on Miami than I
- 1:02:36Speaker 9: would be backing Pitt.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: Well, I know you dive into weather a lot.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: And look, BYU coming off that emotional win where we
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: should have seen one play from the two-yard line. We
- 1:02:45Speaker 3: would have seen what happens right there with Notre Dame.
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: But now BYU goes across the country to Orlando to
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: the bounce house.
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: To take on a UCF team that has won eight
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: of their last ten at home.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: The weather, supposed to be 30-mile-an-hour winds, some rain there.
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: BYU 6-0 against the number, but it's under that key
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: number of seven.
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: It's 6-1⁄2 right here. Do you smell this upset with UCF?
- 1:03:11Speaker 9: I mean, Hard Rock Bat, one of the lowest prices
- 1:03:13Speaker 9: in market. You mentioned 6.5, kind of their prevailing tag there.
- 1:03:16Speaker 9: There are plenty of 7s if people want to make
- 1:03:18Speaker 9: a case for the dog. Here's the interesting dynamic in
- 1:03:21Speaker 9: this particular game, guys. There are a lot of national
- 1:03:23Speaker 9: sportsbooks that will set what they call look-ahead numbers a
- 1:03:26Speaker 9: week in advance for people that want to try and
- 1:03:28Speaker 9: get ahead of it. This number, before BYU pulled off
- 1:03:31Speaker 9: the outright upset as a double-digit dog against Notre Dame,
- 1:03:33Speaker 9: the Cougars were a 9.5-point favorite. They win that game,
- 1:03:36Speaker 9: and here we are looking at a number that's a
- 1:03:38Speaker 9: full field goal lighter. This is one of the spots, though,
- 1:03:41Speaker 9: that you look to circle before the season right alongside
- 1:03:43Speaker 9: Ole Miss, Florida, figuring that regardless of result, that BYU
- 1:03:47Speaker 9: is not going to be able to run it back
- 1:03:48Speaker 9: with the same level of energy and emotion in this
- 1:03:51Speaker 9: particular spot that we saw last week. UCF comes in well-rested.
- 1:03:55Speaker 9: I believe it'll be Keyon Jenkins under center. And the
- 1:03:58Speaker 9: one thing about UCF is they're not exactly explosive when
- 1:04:01Speaker 9: it comes to moving the football. They're a lot more dynamic.
- 1:04:03Speaker 9: They can shorten the game significantly. I can't quite get
- 1:04:06Speaker 9: there because my numbers don't suggest that there's a whole
- 1:04:08Speaker 9: lot of value, even with the spot factored in for UCF.
- 1:04:11Speaker 9: But I do think if they're the side, BYU's offense
- 1:04:13Speaker 9: struggles a little bit. They're flat. I'd be looking at
- 1:04:16Speaker 9: their team total under 25 and a half, kind of
- 1:04:19Speaker 9: a way to reverse engineer it, that if BYU to
- 1:04:21Speaker 9: win this game, say 23 to 10 or in that range,
- 1:04:25Speaker 9: that you're still able to cash a ticket and you're
- 1:04:27Speaker 9: not trusting Central Florida's offense to do a whole hell
- 1:04:29Speaker 9: of a lot.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: Can you find a way for Michigan? with a quarterback change,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: to give Indiana back-to-back losses, something they have not done
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: in two years?
- 1:04:38Speaker 9: The biggest question is how Indiana gets themselves up off
- 1:04:41Speaker 9: the deck. I mean, they look pretty shell-shocked after the
- 1:04:43Speaker 9: 19-15 loss last weekend to Ohio State. And losing is
- 1:04:47Speaker 9: one thing, but losing the way the Hoosiers did, knowing
- 1:04:50Speaker 9: that Nick Marsh had what should have been a relatively
- 1:04:52Speaker 9: straightforward touchdown, arguably Josh Hoover's best thrown ball the entire day.
- 1:04:57Speaker 9: It's a team that hadn't lost in 20-plus games. So
- 1:04:59Speaker 9: I'm not going to say their bubble has burst by
- 1:05:01Speaker 9: any stretch of the imagination, but now you get a
- 1:05:04Speaker 9: tenacious Michigan defense that's going to hit you in the
- 1:05:06Speaker 9: mouth if you're not ready to go right from the
- 1:05:07Speaker 9: opening kickoff. But on the other side, I have no
- 1:05:10Speaker 9: idea what I'm going to get with Indiana having essentially
- 1:05:12Speaker 9: a full week to prepare for Tommy Carr. And while
- 1:05:15Speaker 9: we didn't see the entire playbook on full display in
- 1:05:17Speaker 9: the second half against Penn State, I'm always a little
- 1:05:19Speaker 9: bit skeptical, but as this number has moved through seven
- 1:05:22Speaker 9: out to seven and a half, I'd be looking at
- 1:05:23Speaker 9: the underdog. And I also think this game could start
- 1:05:26Speaker 9: relatively slow. First half under makes a world of sense
- 1:05:29Speaker 9: sitting at 20 and a half.
- 1:05:31Speaker 3: We're kind of off the radar game now, just based
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: on the fact that this Oklahoma offense is awful and
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: material just gives games away with what is still a really,
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: really good defense. But I think the number tells you
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: everything about Camario Taylor, not playing in this game, Oklahoma
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: road favorite here. with the 15th scoring defense in the SEC.
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: I've made the mistake of backing Oklahoma too much. I
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: did have them in the Red River. They're 2-4 against
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: the number. They're a short favorite on the road in Starkville.
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: Is there any play that you see here, any angle
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: on this game?
- 1:06:02Speaker 9: Oh, I had a bit of Oklahoma last week and
- 1:06:04Speaker 9: vowed to myself that I'm not laying points again with
- 1:06:06Speaker 9: that team as long as John Mateer is their starting quarterback.
- 1:06:08Speaker 9: Thought it was a good buy-low opportunity, a chance for
- 1:06:11Speaker 9: them to parlay some of that momentum after the improbable
- 1:06:13Speaker 9: Red River win and fade Kentucky. Alas, that wasn't the
- 1:06:16Speaker 9: case because they couldn't even win the game outright. It's
- 1:06:19Speaker 9: nearly a touchdown fever. This number has been very interesting
- 1:06:22Speaker 9: to watch throughout the course of the week. As I
- 1:06:24Speaker 9: pull up the line history right now at Hard Rock Bet,
- 1:06:26Speaker 9: we saw Oklahoma open as a 2.5-point favorite. At one
- 1:06:30Speaker 9: point yesterday, OU got all the way out to a
- 1:06:33Speaker 9: 5.5-point favorite, and that's when you start to see some
- 1:06:35Speaker 9: money come in on Mississippi State. To your point, LT,
- 1:06:38Speaker 9: I'm going to continue to work under the assumption that
- 1:06:40Speaker 9: we don't get Fluff Boss while we don't get Kamario Taylor,
- 1:06:42Speaker 9: regardless of what the availability report suggests. but there's a
- 1:06:46Speaker 9: little bit of a different sentiment out there apparently with
- 1:06:48Speaker 9: people thinking that Oklahoma just shouldn't be that big of
- 1:06:50Speaker 9: a favorite, even if it is Parker Puckett under center.
- 1:06:53Speaker 9: If those players are out with a total that has
- 1:06:55Speaker 9: leaked up to 47, I'm really not sure where the
- 1:06:58Speaker 9: offense comes from. I don't trust OU even against Miss
- 1:07:01Speaker 9: State's defense. And on the other side, I think a
- 1:07:04Speaker 9: backup quarterback will really have some problems here. So I
- 1:07:06Speaker 9: like the game under the total a bit at 47,
- 1:07:08Speaker 9: but no doubt Kamario Taylor's availability will go a long
- 1:07:11Speaker 9: way dictating where this number moves today and ultimately where
- 1:07:14Speaker 9: it closes tomorrow.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: Alabama is playing host to Texas A & M. They
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: are around a two-touchdown favorite in that game at home,
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: but this is an Alabama team that doesn't look like
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: what they did coming into the Georgia game. The difference
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: between Alabama and Starkville, Mississippi to where we find them
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: now is pretty staggering. It feels like Texas A &
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: M could be a solution to that, though, Furman. They're
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: not the same defense they've been, and they have got
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: a quarterback problem.
- 1:07:41Speaker 9: It's pretty interesting when you look at this Alabama team,
- 1:07:44Speaker 9: and I don't want to create year-over-year parallels because I
- 1:07:46Speaker 9: believe that Ty Simpson was playing with major limitations last
- 1:07:50Speaker 9: year when we started to see water meet its level
- 1:07:52Speaker 9: for Alabama. But this season quickly taking on a little
- 1:07:55Speaker 9: bit of that same tenor. Alabama starts the season white hot.
- 1:07:58Speaker 9: The win against Kentucky has aged like fine wine, dominating
- 1:08:01Speaker 9: that second half, given what we've seen from the Wildcats.
- 1:08:04Speaker 9: But over the last two weeks, it almost feels like Alabama,
- 1:08:06Speaker 9: amongst all teams in the SEC, desperate to get to
- 1:08:09Speaker 9: their bye week. And asking him to go out there
- 1:08:11Speaker 9: and win this game by margin, not quite sure I
- 1:08:14Speaker 9: feel comfortable doing that. We saw Alabama open as a
- 1:08:17Speaker 9: 15.5 point favorite. There hasn't been much in the way
- 1:08:19Speaker 9: of resistance as we move down to 13.5. To your point, Brownie,
- 1:08:23Speaker 9: I don't love anything I've seen from Texas A & M.
- 1:08:25Speaker 9: I have very little confidence in Marcel Reed. But this
- 1:08:28Speaker 9: is more a bet against Alabama winning and doing so
- 1:08:31Speaker 9: comfortably for a team that I think just needs to
- 1:08:33Speaker 9: get to the bye, heal up and get healthy. I
- 1:08:36Speaker 9: worry that they come out a little bit flat again here.
- 1:08:38Speaker 9: And at 14 or better, if the number does get
- 1:08:40Speaker 9: back there, I think it's A & M or pass.
- 1:08:42Speaker 9: Although I'd love to see Alabama get home comfortably and
- 1:08:45Speaker 9: set up a massive showdown in two weeks against LSU.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: We have got a great late night matchup in the
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: Big 12.
- 1:08:51Speaker 3: Houston quietly playing as well as anyone with Connor Wegman.
- 1:08:54Speaker 3: They haven't been great against the number three and four
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: against the number. Now they go take on a Utah
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: team that is obviously undefeated, but they have yet to
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: beat a team with a winning record. The schedule has
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: been awful. They were lucky to survive Colorado last week.
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: This number seems a little large, though, Furman, like the
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: way these two teams are playing. And I know Rice-Eccles
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: is a very difficult venue, but I would have thought
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: more four, four and a half in that range. And
- 1:09:18Speaker 3: this thing is extended out to a touchdown. What do
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: you think about the late night game, Houston and Salt
- 1:09:23Speaker 3: Lake City?
- 1:09:25Speaker 9: You mentioned Utah not playing anybody. And I typically, with
- 1:09:28Speaker 9: these unbalanced conferences, will look at conference strength to schedule
- 1:09:31Speaker 9: to try and level the playing field a bit. Utah
- 1:09:34Speaker 9: has played the worst schedule of Big 12 opponents thus
- 1:09:36Speaker 9: far in the entire conference. So there are no doubt
- 1:09:39Speaker 9: some reservations and questions that will have to be answered.
- 1:09:42Speaker 9: Even with a home field advantage, it's probably one of
- 1:09:44Speaker 9: the more underrated that you're going to find in college football.
- 1:09:47Speaker 9: But wins at home against Arkansas, Utah State, and Kansas
- 1:09:50Speaker 9: road wins against Iowa State and Colorado don't exactly have
- 1:09:53Speaker 9: me brimming with confidence. When you compare that to a
- 1:09:55Speaker 9: Houston team who's actually had a step up in class,
- 1:09:58Speaker 9: going on the road to Lubbock, lost that game at
- 1:10:00Speaker 9: the very end against Texas Tech, the win early in
- 1:10:03Speaker 9: the year against Oregon State has looked that much better.
- 1:10:05Speaker 9: And even last week, while they didn't cover against Oklahoma State,
- 1:10:08Speaker 9: needed to find a little bit more in the tank
- 1:10:10Speaker 9: offensively to get that thing across the finish line as
- 1:10:12Speaker 9: a three-point favorite. I look at this game here, and
- 1:10:15Speaker 9: as the number moves towards seven, Houston becomes more and
- 1:10:17Speaker 9: more intriguing. The one thing I will say is Houston
- 1:10:20Speaker 9: defensively has left a lot to be desired, even as
- 1:10:22Speaker 9: good as Connor Wegman has been on the offensive side.
- 1:10:25Speaker 9: I really believe we're in store for a track meet.
- 1:10:27Speaker 9: And one of the more exciting games here, I think
- 1:10:29Speaker 9: Utah is going to scheme things up and try and
- 1:10:32Speaker 9: be able to create a couple of big plays. Meanwhile,
- 1:10:34Speaker 9: Houston should hit some explosives in their own right. I
- 1:10:36Speaker 9: like this game over the total at 56 and a half.
- 1:10:39Speaker 3: Ferber, let's take it to the NFL. First game on Sunday,
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: another international game in Paris with the Steelers and the Saints.
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: Steelers are a short favorite here. It's actually up from
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: one and a half to three. How do you factor
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: in riots outside of the stadium when you're handicapping a game?
- 1:10:56Speaker 9: You know, this is typically a domain that I let
- 1:10:58Speaker 9: Clay Travis go into around Sporting State. I only handicap
- 1:11:01Speaker 9: what's on the field here. In terms of overall distractions,
- 1:11:05Speaker 9: I am a little bit surprised that the league still
- 1:11:07Speaker 9: is going to have this game go on as scheduled.
- 1:11:10Speaker 9: When you look at New Orleans, though, I mean, this
- 1:11:12Speaker 9: is a team that I think scoreline, especially last week
- 1:11:14Speaker 9: against the New York Giants, was rather flattering. I mean,
- 1:11:17Speaker 9: they did nothing in the first half, were able to
- 1:11:19Speaker 9: cash in a... converted fumble off of the kickoff late
- 1:11:23Speaker 9: in the half and then parlayed that into part of
- 1:11:26Speaker 9: a 34-0 run. Meanwhile, for the Steelers, I mean, they
- 1:11:29Speaker 9: had one of their biggest comebacks since 2002, erasing that
- 1:11:33Speaker 9: 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter against a backup quarterback
- 1:11:35Speaker 9: in Jalen Daniels. This game for me, I feel should
- 1:11:38Speaker 9: be priced at three. And I think it's part of
- 1:11:40Speaker 9: the reason that you're seeing folks getting ahead of it,
- 1:11:42Speaker 9: looking to lay the two and a half with the Steelers.
- 1:11:45Speaker 9: They're looking to take the three and a half with
- 1:11:46Speaker 9: the Saints would make a slight case for going over
- 1:11:49Speaker 9: the total. But where I did invest in this game, guys,
- 1:11:51Speaker 9: is going under Aaron Rodgers passing yardage at two thirty
- 1:11:54Speaker 9: six and a half. I think you're going to see
- 1:11:56Speaker 9: the Steelers commit to the ground game and get a
- 1:11:57Speaker 9: steady dose of Rico Dowdle and Jalen Warren against his
- 1:12:00Speaker 9: poorest Saints defense.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: I would recommend nobody watch the Dolphins play the Jets.
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: It'll be a terrible game. But I don't know if
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: our audience, because they don't watch the Dolphins like I do,
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: are aware of this stat that the Dolphins are not
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: led at any point this season. That's an amazing stat, Furman. Amazing.
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: It really is. They have not led at any point
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: this season. And what week are we going into in
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: the NFL? Week seven. Week seven, Furman. They have had
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: one bye week. Can you remember the longest you've seen
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: a team go without leading a game in an NFL season?
- 1:12:33Speaker 9: This is getting right up there, but at the same time,
- 1:12:35Speaker 9: the saving grace is that you look at the schedule
- 1:12:38Speaker 9: that the Miami Dolphins have played, and it hasn't exactly
- 1:12:41Speaker 9: had much in the way of soft spots for them.
- 1:12:43Speaker 9: So this could be the perfect cure-all. We have seen
- 1:12:46Speaker 9: some money come in on the underdog here, and I'm
- 1:12:49Speaker 9: actually in agreement. I don't think the Jets should be
- 1:12:50Speaker 9: more than a field goal favorite against anyone. So if
- 1:12:53Speaker 9: the only way I was looking to bet this game
- 1:12:55Speaker 9: would be Miami plus the points, I'm not sure I'm
- 1:12:57Speaker 9: going to step out on a limb and look to
- 1:12:59Speaker 9: bet them on the money line. But I really believe
- 1:13:01Speaker 9: you're going to get the Dolphins' most competitive effort. And
- 1:13:03Speaker 9: the one thing we've seen from Miami, despite being one
- 1:13:05Speaker 9: of the least talented rosters in the league, they've gone
- 1:13:08Speaker 9: out there and fought for 60 minutes each and every week.
- 1:13:11Speaker 9: And that's more than I can say about a lot
- 1:13:13Speaker 9: of teams. And I actually think the Dolphins should be
- 1:13:15Speaker 9: more optimistic about their future than what the Tennessee Titans
- 1:13:17Speaker 9: fans have to watch each and every Sunday throughout the fall.
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: I try to tell, and Furman's got to go here
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: in a couple of minutes. I try to tell people
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: that Furman, that they play hard and they've gotten better.
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: It's still a bad product, but they've gotten better. So exactly.
- 1:13:30Speaker 9: And that's, and that's kind of what you want to see.
- 1:13:31Speaker 9: I mean, we know that the roster doesn't have much
- 1:13:33Speaker 9: in the way of firepower. They lost their most dynamic
- 1:13:36Speaker 9: offensive playmaker and Devin a chain early in the year,
- 1:13:38Speaker 9: but they're at least going out there and they're pushing things.
- 1:13:41Speaker 9: I mean, even against the Cincinnati Bengals where they were
- 1:13:43Speaker 9: clearly outmatched, it's not like they mailed it in, in
- 1:13:45Speaker 9: the fourth quarter and at least made things competitive with
- 1:13:48Speaker 9: a chance to recover an onside kick and maybe pull
- 1:13:50Speaker 9: off a scare. They're going to jump up and bite someone.
- 1:13:52Speaker 9: I'm not sure how often it's going to happen, but
- 1:13:54Speaker 9: this team will not go winless in my estimation.
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: Okay, Furman, I know you've only got a couple of minutes,
- 1:13:59Speaker 3: so two quick ones if you can get them in.
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: First one, the Houston-Texas rough start, but now 10.5 over
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: New York who will start, J.J.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: McCarthy. I don't play a lot of team totals. This
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: seems like a good spot to play that New York
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: Giants under team totals.
- 1:14:14Speaker 9: I would agree with you there. I think Houston's defense
- 1:14:16Speaker 9: has been much maligned. This is the game that, in
- 1:14:18Speaker 9: my opinion, if they're going to get healthy, they should
- 1:14:20Speaker 9: have an opportunity to be able to do so. But
- 1:14:23Speaker 9: on the other side, I have no qualms about betting
- 1:14:24Speaker 9: Houston's offense to go out there and thrive. I think C.J. Stroud,
- 1:14:28Speaker 9: when you look at what he's doing, that's a story
- 1:14:30Speaker 9: that's kind of been, you know, flown under the radar,
- 1:14:33Speaker 9: I guess, for lack of a better term, while Josh
- 1:14:35Speaker 9: Allen and Brock Purdy put a video game numbers. I
- 1:14:36Speaker 9: think C.J. Stroud is a dark horse MVP candidate. That's
- 1:14:40Speaker 9: how well he's playing, especially with Nico Collins out there
- 1:14:42Speaker 9: on the field.
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: OK, and finally, Furman, I was supposed to fly out
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: after this show coming to your backyard to watch my
- 1:14:47Speaker 3: Rams take on the Raiders. My plans have completely fallen apart.
- 1:14:50Speaker 3: So have the Rams. This could be an absolute disaster.
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: They open at seven and a half. It's down to
- 1:14:55Speaker 3: three and a half. They continue to be banged up.
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: Puka is now questionable. No Devante Adams. This is a mess.
- 1:15:01Speaker 3: I assume we back the Raiders plus three and a
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: half here.
- 1:15:04Speaker 9: Hard for me to get behind the Raiders here, only
- 1:15:06Speaker 9: because it's the worst of the number, LT. I mean,
- 1:15:08Speaker 9: you had a chance, like you mentioned, even when the
- 1:15:10Speaker 9: reopen on Monday, you could have grabbed six. I know
- 1:15:12Speaker 9: the Rams are a different handicap now. If Puka can't go,
- 1:15:15Speaker 9: we know Devontae Adams won't be out there. No Kobe Turner,
- 1:15:17Speaker 9: no Puna Ford. The list goes on and on. Much maligned,
- 1:15:20Speaker 9: but maybe the wounded animal here in the Rams finds
- 1:15:23Speaker 9: a way to get right against this Raiders defense. I
- 1:15:26Speaker 9: look for Blake Corm's receiving number. I think that's set
- 1:15:29Speaker 9: at six and a half. I think he's going to
- 1:15:30Speaker 9: have an opportunity. opportunity to go out there stretch his
- 1:15:32Speaker 9: legs a bit would lean towards the underdog here uh
- 1:15:35Speaker 9: but again don't want to take the worst the number
- 1:15:37Speaker 9: in the nfl six down to three and a half
- 1:15:38Speaker 9: is a pretty big move and we know chasing those
- 1:15:41Speaker 9: prices oftentimes doesn't end well all.
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: Right he is todd firman at todd firman on social
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: media is where you find him bet the board podcast

- 1:16:01Speaker 1: We are live in Auburn at Bunkers, and it is
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: X-Round on Sporting State presented by Hard Rock Bat. We've
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: got a lot more games to get to and our headlines.
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: Upset of the week is that we both did a headline. Tyler,
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: do you have them, or are we ready to go
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: on headlines if we're doing the next segment?
- 1:16:16Speaker 8: I do have both headlines.
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: I just need to send Lance's to Scott's real quick
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: because I just finished it up.
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 1:16:24Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: It looks great. Oh, does it? He's already sent me
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: the proof. I saw it, yeah. Okay, so you've seen it.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: All right. So we've got two headlines, perhaps no misspelled
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: words in these two headlines. We'll see about that when
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: we return. It is the next round on the road.
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: We are in Auburn, Sporting State, presented by Hard Rock Bet. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: This is Coach's chair.
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: What?
- 1:16:46Speaker 5: We protect Coach's chair the way Hard Rock Bet does.
- 1:16:49Speaker 5: Protects Coach's account.
- 1:16:50Speaker 7: Hard Rock Bet keeps Coach's info safe. Hard Rock Bet
- 1:16:53Speaker 7: keeps Coach's money safe. And we keep Coach safe.
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: Hey, fellas. Coach. Coach. How about that protection? Can I
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: grab a wing? Coach's wings. Guess I'll sit on the ground.
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: That's where Coach puts his feet. Safe and secure betting
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: from the very first tap. Great to meet you, Coach.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: It was Coach's pleasure. All right, we continue from Auburn.
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: Bunkers on West Glen and Auburn, just a couple blocks
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: from Jordan-Hare Stadium, where LSU and Auburn do battle at
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: 11 o'clock Saturday morning. It is the next round on
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: Sporting State, presented by Hard Rock Bet. Our friends are
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: starting to show up here. We're going to feel this
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: going on. They're rolling the ice out, so the beer's
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: on the ice right now. I mean, they're ready to serve.
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: I just talked to a couple of the servers, and
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: they're like, hey, bring it. Bring it. All right, so
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: if you're anywhere close to bunkers, let's go. Coming here.
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: I'm going to get.
- 1:17:43Speaker 3: Their food last time. It's very good. Oh, look, everything
- 1:17:46Speaker 3: here is top shelf. I'm going to wait to the
- 1:17:48Speaker 3: transition hour at 11 o'clock.
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: OK. And then I will probably get behind my first one.
- 1:17:53Speaker 1: We'll pop a cold one at that point.
- 1:17:55Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: Why not? Yeah. Get that some some nice warm food.
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: Jordan here. Stadium just next door here will be packed
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: Saturday morning. We'll talk a lot more about that game.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: You're going to hear coming up in the next half
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: of the next round. From some of the Alabama and
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: Auburn coaches, DJ Durkin, Alex Golish on the Auburn side.
- 1:18:12Speaker 1: We'll hear from Ryan Grubb talking about Alabama's offense. So
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: we'll do all of that in the next half of
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: the show as we focus in a little bit more
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: on Alabama-Texas A & M and that Auburn-LSU game. I'll
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: ask this part of Alabama-Texas A & M. The question
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: I ask Furman, Alabama has struggled a little bit offensively
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: and defensively. It's not been the same team. I can't
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: believe I'm saying this based on where they were supposed
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: to be this year, but it feels like Texas A &
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: M kind of helps you there, right? They're not dynamic
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: on either side of the ball. Yeah, they're really not.
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: But the thing that I want to see here, can
- 1:18:46Speaker 3: Alabama come back out and establish the run? because what
- 1:18:50Speaker 3: we saw against Georgia it was kind of understandable because
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: Georgia's defense is so good and look Tennessee's defense is
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: really good too but Alabama couldn't couldn't move Tennessee up
- 1:18:59Speaker 3: front at all right and so you know if I'm
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: an Alabama fan I'm very interested to see because Alabama
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: look physical on that side of the.
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: Can they get it back going? Because if they want.
- 1:19:10Speaker 3: To make a run here and they want to be
- 1:19:12Speaker 3: able to go on the road and beat LSU and
- 1:19:14Speaker 3: Baton Rouge and maybe make some kind of a run
- 1:19:16Speaker 3: once we get to the postseason, they've got to be
- 1:19:19Speaker 3: able to get back to running the football.
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: Yeah, back is against the wall for the Crimson Tide,
- 1:19:22Speaker 1: and that's the thing you've got to remember. We've talked
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: about Oklahoma, Mississippi State. That point spread is indicative of
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: the fact that Mississippi State's going to be without their
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: big playmaker, Camario Taylor, again. Boy, it's not as bad
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: as it has been in Oregon. I mean, Dante Moore,
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: it feels like he hasn't even played this season. Camario
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: Taylor at least still played against Alabama, but they've been out,
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: I think, Is it the same amount of time they've
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: been out? It just seems like it's more for Dante Moore.
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: More time for Dante Moore.
- 1:19:54Speaker 3: I'm trying to go back because everything revolved around this
- 1:19:57Speaker 3: fall wedding I was at.
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: And it all runs together. Yeah, it really does.
- 1:20:01Speaker 3: So that was Tennessee, Texas. That was obviously Oregon, USC, Alabama. No,
- 1:20:06Speaker 3: Alabama played South Carolina that night. Yeah, that was the
- 1:20:09Speaker 3: week after.
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: The week after. Okay, so Dante Moore got hurt the
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: same night Alabama played South Carolina. And then Taylor's last game.
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: was the next week, Alabama-Mississippi State. I think Taylor is
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: a bigger factor than Dante Moore. I would agree. Oregon
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: has still won games without Dante Moore. Well, you go
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: back to Oregon, too.
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: Look, they really struggled against Boise State, albeit a really
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: good Group 6 team. And then, you know, Dante Moore
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: loses on the road to Oklahoma State.
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: So, like, with Dante, he still has looked a little off.
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: He doesn't look as good as he looked last year.
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: I think a lot of this is the Will Stein effect.
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: On the other side, Kamario Taylor wasn't healthy against Alabama.
- 1:20:43Speaker 3: Not even close to being healthy. So, look, Alabama was
- 1:20:46Speaker 3: still going to win that game with a healthy Camario Taylor.
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: I think it would have looked different though. Camario Taylor,
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: when he's a hundred percent, I mean, they could win
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: every game out there. But it's been fluff Bothwell too.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: That's been the problem is it's been your quarterback and
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: your best running back. And boy, for Jeff Levy, man,
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: that is just a tough break for him. That guy
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: had the best team he's had at state. He had
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: a legitimate shot to get to seven or eight wins
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: and really take a step forward as a head coach.
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: And Now you've had to coach the middle part of
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: your season without your starting quarterback and your starting running back.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: I hate it for Levy.
- 1:21:16Speaker 3: You could make an argument on all three levels. They
- 1:21:20Speaker 3: had at times the top quarterback with Kamario Taylor, the
- 1:21:24Speaker 3: top running back with Fluff, and then the top receiver
- 1:21:27Speaker 3: with Anthony Evans. They had, and the problem for Jeff
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: Levy and Mississippi State in today's landscape is they're just
- 1:21:34Speaker 3: not going to have, I mean, a lot of these teams,
- 1:21:36Speaker 3: even the You know, the Ohio States, the Alabamas, the
- 1:21:38Speaker 3: Georgias don't have the depth they used to. But when
- 1:21:40Speaker 3: Mississippi State loses key players like that, they.
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: Have no shot. But even with those key players out,
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: how confident are you in Oklahoma on the road? I'm not.
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: I'm not at all. Yeah, I'm like right there with Furman.
- 1:21:49Speaker 3: You and I watched Oklahoma-Kentucky with a bunch of Kentucky
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: fans last week. random-ass karaoke bar in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. That's
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: quite a story, and it is true. And I backed
- 1:21:59Speaker 3: John Mateer laying.
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: I mean, it looks ridiculous that I laid a touchdown
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: against Kentucky with Mateer, running it over three times. That
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: was at home. Yeah, and they're trying to pull me
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: back in. They are trying to pull me back in
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: on Oklahoma this week. Berman swore them off. It's taken
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: you a while to come around, but you have sworn
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: them off? I don't know.
- 1:22:18Speaker 3: I mean, there's a possibility that I still– I don't
- 1:22:20Speaker 3: know how Mississippi State is going to generate any offense.
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: You go back to LSU. Oklahoma.
- 1:22:24Speaker 3: LSU's got a really good defense. I still think Oklahoma's
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: a little bit better than LSU's defense. LSU, shut them out.
- 1:22:29Speaker 3: You don't see shutouts in college football. And with Puckett
- 1:22:33Speaker 3: and no Bothwell, I don't know how they score points
- 1:22:36Speaker 3: against Oklahoma. Unless Mateer hands them 14, which he might.
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: All right. Headlines coming up in a second are Monday
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: headlines from Lance and I. But first, XXXY Clothing. Jennifer Say.
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: She was a national champion gymnast, Levi's brand president. and
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: walked away from a corporate job rather than say something
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: she simply did not believe in. She walked away and
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: started XXXY Athletics instead. The mission, in their words, empower
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: female athletes to take a stand for fair competition. And
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: that is what they have done there. It's real athletic apparel,
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: not just a slogan on a shirt. It's performance tops, tanks,
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: sports bras, leggings, shorts, training sets, men's and women's clothing.
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: They've got hoodies, they've got hats, they've got graphic tees,
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: and it's clothing worn by athletes who've actually put something
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: on the line. New customers get 20% off your first

- 1:23:25Speaker 1: That is xx-xyathletics.com. xx-xyathletics.com. All right, Tyler, who do you
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: want to go with first? Who are we seeing the
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: headline from first?
- 1:23:40Speaker 8: Well, Scott's got them, so I'm going to let him choose.
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: All right, Scott, back in Birmingham. Who are we seeing first, Scott?
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: Who do you want to go first?
- 1:23:49Speaker 5: Let's go Lance.
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: All right, Lance Taylor, your headlines, Lance. Let me pull
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: where Tyler had sent me the copy. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Damn,
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: I can't find it now. Where are you? There it is. Okay.
- 1:24:02Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: So we are going to Orlando, Florida. Could be some
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: bad weather. It's official. Cougars hate bounce houses. Another unbeaten
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: goes down as UCF upsets BYU. What do we have here?
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: We've got Bear Bachmeier. We've got Kalani Sataki. Busy front page.
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: And Stifler's mom. Yeah, Jennifer Coolidge. That's right. Who said
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: she loves to date younger guys. Yeah, I saw that.
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: By the way. I saw that recently. By the way,
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: she's pretty much close to having to make that choice
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: because there aren't many older than her, right? How old
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: is she? Oh. I mean, how old is Jennifer Coolidge?
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: Coolidge has got to be early 60s, mid-60s. Yeah, I mean,
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: you're getting the field is getting smaller and smaller.
- 1:24:45Speaker 6: 65.
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: 55? 65. Oh, 65. I was about to say, yeah,
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: he would be a hard-ass 55. Yeah, that's 55 right there. Okay,
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: the side headlines. Give them to us, Tyler. All righty.
- 1:24:58Speaker 4: So A & M loses the game and their coach
- 1:25:01Speaker 4: at halftime. Mike Elko said, it was already over and
- 1:25:05Speaker 4: I could smell the ribs. And in the picture, you
- 1:25:07Speaker 4: see him floating off like a cartoon.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: Just walks out.
- 1:25:11Speaker 8: The smell of baby back ribs wafting into his nose.
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: It was already over and I could smell the ribs.
- 1:25:19Speaker 4: And then over in entertainment, Pac McAfee announcing a new
- 1:25:23Speaker 4: song release with Nick Saban and his longtime producer, Rick Rubin, a.k.a.
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: The Wizard. Oh, how about that? Yeah. The old kickoff riot.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: And the debut single is rumored to be Football Beats
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: Hit Different. I love Saban in his tracksuit.
- 1:25:45Speaker 6: The track suit looks like it would sound like one
- 1:25:47Speaker 6: of those British rap groups from the late 90s.
- 1:25:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I was trying to go more Beastie Boys inspired
- 1:25:55Speaker 4: with this.
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: It's got some Beastie Boys flair to it. That doesn't
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: look like Saban. AI did not do a good job.
- 1:26:03Speaker 3: I think the statue on campus might be better than
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: the AI Saban.
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: Do you see the AIs?
- 1:26:08Speaker 4: Yeah, I had to redo the image I sent you
- 1:26:11Speaker 4: because I saw how it distorted his face at the bottom.
- 1:26:13Speaker 8: But it improved a little bit.
- 1:26:15Speaker 5: He looks very Italian. He does.
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. I think the chain and the tracksuit help
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: with that. So that's what I got. Very good. Very
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: well done. There's a TikTok trend where you can put
- 1:26:28Speaker 1: people singing together. I don't know what it's called. Have
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: you seen it?
- 1:26:32Speaker 3: It was really funny early and now it's just gone.
- 1:26:36Speaker 3: It was kind of like the Straight Outta Compton when
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: the movie came out and you saw the poster and
- 1:26:40Speaker 3: you're like, oh, damn, that's funny. And then, you know,
- 1:26:43Speaker 3: seven days later after you've seen.
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: A thousand of them. Yeah, that's every TikTok trend. But
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: one of the first ones I saw was Bear Bryant
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: and Nick Saban singing together, and it was kind of funny.
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: The first one I saw.
- 1:26:57Speaker 5: The Hotel Lobby song by Migos. Is that what you're
- 1:26:59Speaker 5: talking about? With the orange backdrop.
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: Maybe with the mic hanging down. The first one I
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: saw was Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad,
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: and I thought it was real. I got baited like Tyler.
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: I was like, I can see Aaron Paul and Bryan
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: Cranston doing this. Yeah, I mean, Tyler, your Steeler's Hype video,
- 1:27:17Speaker 1: that's still one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
- 1:27:20Speaker 1: Door front window gets blown out. Got bodies being blown
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: out of the street.
- 1:27:24Speaker 8: I thought an intern was just getting a little wild.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: All right, let's go to my headline. My headline is
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: going to come from the South Carolina-Tennessee game. And one
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: of my favorite newspapers up there in South Carolina is
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: the Game Cocker. The Game Cocker. And our main story,
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: upset Tennessee head coach kidnapped South Carolina mascot. Oh, no.
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: Don't know what happened, but he kidnapped the South Carolina mascot.
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: He looks happy. He does look happy. The old saying,
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: fat and happy. Fat and happy. Well, I tell you what,
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: there are no shortage of Mike Elko and Josh Eipel
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: food jokes as we have shown at this time. How
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: many sides does Eipel have? You want all the sides.
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: When you get a full bucket of chicken, how many?
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: Did he just got the family meal, right? Well, I mean,
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: that may be South Carolina's mascot. I have no idea.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: He's got a biscuit. It looks like some mac and cheese.
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: We've got some green beans and some coleslaw. I mean, look,
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: I could tear that apart. I don't know how much
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: of it I could eat.
- 1:28:19Speaker 5: That is a massive basket of chicken.
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: It's a lot of chicken. That's a big mascot, guys.
- 1:28:26Speaker 1: You've got to cook the whole thing. Okay, so let's
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: put it on the table.
- 1:28:29Speaker 3: If Elko and Hypal went head-to-head in the eating contest,
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: who would you guys take? I think proportionally, Hypo is
- 1:28:36Speaker 3: like he's got the fatness all over from the ears
- 1:28:39Speaker 3: to the nose, everywhere.
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: Elko just wears it all in his stomach. I think
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: I'm going Elko. I'm going Elko.
- 1:28:46Speaker 6: I think Elko just looks like a for lack of
- 1:28:50Speaker 6: a better term, he just looks like a fat guy.
- 1:28:53Speaker 6: Heupel just looks like a guy who has kind of
- 1:28:55Speaker 6: let himself go over the years. Mike Elko just kind
- 1:28:59Speaker 6: of looks like that's who he is.
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: You're right. Heupel looks like a guy that if he
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: decided to, he could drop 40 and look normal.
- 1:29:05Speaker 3: He looks like the guy you go to your 10-year
- 1:29:07Speaker 3: high school reunion.
- 1:29:08Speaker 1: And you're like, damn, Josh, you blew up, my friend.
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: After that Heisman deal. All right, page two. American tourist
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: upsets Irish locals after telling them all their landmarks are underwhelming.
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: That's a bad story. You just kiss the rock? That's
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: all you do?
- 1:29:26Speaker 3: Do you think we've already gotten the kite? Wait, you
- 1:29:29Speaker 3: salted this food? Wait, this is the Guinness that I
- 1:29:35Speaker 3: heard about?
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: Thought it'd be greener. Not much of a castle. Yeah,
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: thought it'd be greener here.
- 1:29:40Speaker 6: Are we anticipating him talking about how he got sick
- 1:29:43Speaker 6: of the cuisine over there after 10 days?
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: 1,000%. 100%. Yeah. I am fully anticipating that.
- 1:29:50Speaker 3: He will try to condition himself to come back positive
- 1:29:53Speaker 3: and talk like, oh, this was the trip of the lifetime.
- 1:29:56Speaker 1: He's not going to be able to help himself.
- 1:29:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: I mean, he'll. You know, they don't pressure wash the
- 1:30:01Speaker 1: castles over there. The golf courses. I've played a lot
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: better golf courses in Birmingham. That'll be the line.
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:30:08Speaker 1: You know those golf courses? I've played a lot better
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: golf courses in Birmingham.
- 1:30:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: Page three, authorities reveal the Paris protests are actually a
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: result of Troy Aikman not having a new contract. That's
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: why they're rioting. And Paris Tyler, you couldn't figure it
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: out the other day. It's because they're pissed for Troy, too.
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: They're going to riot until Troy gets his contract.
- 1:30:24Speaker 4: Silly me thought it was about student protests. Chat said
- 1:30:27Speaker 4: it was wrong, and now you did the research.
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: That's right. I did the research. It's all about Troy. Oh,
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: I didn't. The Game Cocker did. Page three on the
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: Game Cocker. It's all about Troy Aikman's contract. That's our
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: headlines for the games coming up all over the weekend.
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: And I guess a Troy Aikman contract update. I do
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: agree that Josh Heupel is going to eat himself into
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: a food coma after this loss. You think they're losing?
- 1:30:51Speaker 3: Well, I mean, you remember when he lost to South
- 1:30:53Speaker 3: Carolina in a pivotal game that would have gotten them
- 1:30:55Speaker 3: into a college football playoff. I think it's more of
- 1:30:57Speaker 3: the same. I think McIntyre is going to struggle. I
- 1:30:59Speaker 3: think it's multiple turnovers. I will have this in my
- 1:31:01Speaker 3: pick three today. I love me some South Carolina tomorrow.
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: Love them. Love them. Not an 11 o'clock game, by
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: the way. Yeah. I will be all over it.
- 1:31:11Speaker 3: It's already on the card. It's still at two and
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: a half. It is still at two and a half
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: right now. The one thing that scares me is that
- 1:31:17Speaker 3: Tennessee's defense. I mean, it is, I mean, maybe we
- 1:31:20Speaker 3: haven't talked enough about the Tennessee defense.
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: It's been spectacular. I mean, they absolutely worked Alabama, uh,
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: on Saturday. Yeah. Jim Knowles was so far ahead of
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: Ryan grub in that game. It was not even fair. Um,
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: So you feel that strongly about it? I do. How
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: high would the point spread have to go before you're like, okay,
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: that's a little too much. It's a two and a half.
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: I mean, I wouldn't want it to approach four, four
- 1:31:43Speaker 3: and a half. I mean, look, I think it's going
- 1:31:45Speaker 3: to be a really good game, but I just– I mean,
- 1:31:47Speaker 3: where that number is, where I think it should be, and,
- 1:31:50Speaker 3: you know, emotionally Tennessee coming off that, I just don't
- 1:31:52Speaker 3: have any expectation. Now, Deshaun Bishop, if he goes 150 plus.
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 1:31:57Speaker 3: But, I mean, if you're Shane Beamer, there is one
- 1:31:59Speaker 3: job you've got. That is to limit what Deshaun Bishop does.
- 1:32:03Speaker 3: Put the game in McIntyre's hand.
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: This is going to be like McIntyre started at Arkansas.
- 1:32:09Speaker 1: that fan base is completely beat down. There's just no
- 1:32:12Speaker 1: excitement at that place. This will be the toughest spot
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: he's been in yet. Now, playing an Alabama defense was
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: a tough spot. I don't mean that. I just mean
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: as far as the crowd noise. He was at home playing.
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: This will be a hostile environment. As used as that
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: crowd was, you could hear the decibel. It was like
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: Between acts of a concert when Tennessee had the ball.
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: And then it was a metal concert when Alabama had
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: the ball. That's right. So he's been in the comfort
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: of playing at Arkansas or playing at home. He's about
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: to have to go to South Carolina. That is a
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: loud statement. I don't know if you've been to a
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: game there. I've been to one game there. It's a
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: vicious fan base. And I would assume at least they
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: owe this to Shane Beamer. He did have his team
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: prepared in the swamp. That's right. They have not given up.
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: So this really passionate fan base that has really gotten
- 1:32:57Speaker 3: nothing out of being passionate fans.
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: For decades and decades and decades. No, they have shown
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: up game after game after game and cheered loud for nothing.
- 1:33:03Speaker 3: But you paid a lot of money for your cock-booses.
- 1:33:06Speaker 3: There's an A in there, cock-a-boos.
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: Cock-a-boos. a kayak boost would be a little bit different.
- 1:33:12Speaker 1: I don't know how much those cost. Yeah, but you
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: paid a lot of money for that.
- 1:33:14Speaker 3: So, hey, show up, October weather, enjoy this, and I
- 1:33:18Speaker 3: think you're going to get a South Carolina victory out
- 1:33:20Speaker 3: of it.
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: Hey, by the way, they've got a chance here to
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: maybe turn this season around a little bit. They had
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: the three straight losses there at 3-3. If they can
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: win this game at Oklahoma next week, not off the
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: table for them, right?
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: Host A & M. A & M' s kind of a
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: mess right now. At Arkansas, very winnable game. I mean,
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: they got a chance to go on a little five-game
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: win streak. Now they They have to host Georgia at
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: the end of that five-game run. But they're already dead
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: and buried. Yeah. No, no, I'm not saying get in
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: the playoffs. I'm saying for the future of Shane Beamer. Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: If Shane Beamer wants to save his job, you think
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: he might have done it in the swamp? I think
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: he's already done it because I think South Carolina's hands
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: are tied.
- 1:33:54Speaker 3: Yeah, because they're broke. We talked about it. Yeah, they
- 1:33:56Speaker 3: are a broke program. When you're a broke program in
- 1:33:58Speaker 3: the SEC, that is a big problem.
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: Bad place to be.
- 1:34:00Speaker 3: Yeah, it's almost like a trust fund baby who's already
- 1:34:03Speaker 3: blown his load and spent everything.
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: That's right, yeah. Yeah, they are a broke program. If
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: you haven't followed that story, they've got some financial concerns
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: coming up.
- 1:34:12Speaker 3: I was told, and I don't know what the expectation
- 1:34:16Speaker 3: of South Carolina is. Again, everything is warped now because
- 1:34:19Speaker 3: of Kirk Cignetti and because of Bob Chesney and people
- 1:34:22Speaker 3: being able to turn these things around so quickly.
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I was told by a South Carolina guy. This
- 1:34:27Speaker 1: was secondhand. I'll go ahead and tell you, secondhand. But
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: one of their power boosters had told him point blank,
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: and this guy would not make this up, because he's
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: a South Carolina guy, one of their power boosters had
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: told him point blank that going into last season, not
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: this season, they did not even have enough money raised
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: to meet their NIL commitments. They had made certain levels
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: of NIL commitments and didn't have the money to pay
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: for those. Now, they must have figured it out. Well,
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: you have to at that point. Now, I say that.
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: We had that situation early on. Who was the Florida quarterback?
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: They went to Arizona State and went everywhere. Oh, my gosh.
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: Exotic name. Exotic. Rashada? Yeah, Jaden Rashada. Jaden Rashada. Thank you, Scott.
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: That's kind of an exotic name. That's kind of, I guess.
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: Jaden Rashada is exotic, like a snake. Yeah, I mean,
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: he did not get what he was promised and moved on.
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: We had UNLV quarterback that ended up mapping out. Terrible
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: idea by him. I'll never remember his name because he
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: didn't amount to anything after that. But obviously, South Carolina
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: figured it out because they kept Dylan Stewart. They kept
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: Nick Harbour. They kept Lenore as seller. So obviously they
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: figured their situation out. But I just say that to
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: highlight kind of the financial situation they were in at
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: that time. You don't have enough money to buy a
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: coach out. You are stuck with him.
- 1:35:41Speaker 3: I think it's going to be interesting because South Carolina
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: does have the best rush offense in the SEC going
- 1:35:45Speaker 3: against that Jim Knowles defense. You know, can they go 125,
- 1:35:48Speaker 3: 150 yards on the ground if they can do that?
- 1:35:53Speaker 3: I think they could win this game by seven plus.
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: All right, we are continuing from Bunkers. Bunkers is an
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: amazing venue just blocks from Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn on

- 1:38:06Speaker 1: up to $ 500 in no-sweat bets. When you go to
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: hardrock.bet backslash clay, how big of a game is this
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: Saturday for Arch Manning? His coach after the loss to
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: Florida wouldn't immediately answer if he was still the starting quarterback.
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: But then he comes back out Monday and says, no,
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: he's still our starting quarterback. But the fact that he
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: didn't just immediately, and I'm not criticizing Sargent. for this.
- 1:38:30Speaker 1: I think Sark probably should have considered this. But KJ
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: Lacey gets more snaps. His coach didn't immediately back him
- 1:38:36Speaker 1: up in the postgame. At some point, he's got to
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: turn this around. Well, I mean, you think about Sark.
- 1:38:41Speaker 1: Sark's job is in jeopardy right now. Yes. Sark's got
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: to turn it around. Yeah, Arch is going to be fine,
- 1:38:45Speaker 1: I mean, at least in the immediate future.
- 1:38:48Speaker 3: Whether it works out at Texas or not, he'll be
- 1:38:49Speaker 3: able to transfer out, and he'll still probably make millions
- 1:38:52Speaker 3: of dollars.
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: I can't believe we're having that conversation. Yeah, somebody would
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: take a chance on Arch to do that. But Sark
- 1:38:59Speaker 1: is the one that's under the gun, so he's got
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: to figure out a way to jumpstart this offense that
- 1:39:03Speaker 1: still has so– much skill, talent. I am blown away
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: that Texas is in this spot. Ole Miss, like how
- 1:39:10Speaker 1: much can this defense continue to hold up?
- 1:39:12Speaker 3: I think they did a great job against Missouri, holding
- 1:39:15Speaker 3: Missouri to three points. Jamal Roberts, 39 yards on 20 carries.
- 1:39:20Speaker 3: If they can carry that defense over into Austin with
- 1:39:22Speaker 3: a struggling Texas team, you know, with Trinidad Chambliss, they
- 1:39:25Speaker 3: should be fine. Another concern for Texas is Colin Simmons.
- 1:39:29Speaker 3: I mean, one of the best at getting after the quarterback.
- 1:39:31Speaker 3: He's going to be a top 10 pick in the
- 1:39:33Speaker 3: May NFL draft. You know, 10.5 of those 19 sacks, 55%
- 1:39:37Speaker 3: of the sack production for Texas is going to be
- 1:39:39Speaker 3: out for Will Mustamp and the Longhorns this weekend. That
- 1:39:42Speaker 3: is a problem for Texas. But again, if Texas was
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: to lose this game, I still think they've got one
- 1:39:49Speaker 3: more loss in them. I don't know how you feel
- 1:39:51Speaker 3: about that because of the win against Ohio State. I
- 1:39:54Speaker 3: think they can go 9-3 and still get in. But
- 1:39:56Speaker 3: if you're to lose this game, three consecutive losses, I
- 1:39:59Speaker 3: still think you find another one on the backside. So
- 1:40:00Speaker 3: I think they really, really... have to win this game
- 1:40:03Speaker 3: if they want to get to the college football playoff. Tyler,
- 1:40:05Speaker 3: can we do cut 10? Steve Sarkeesian. Now, Scott tells
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: me this is, Scott, you use the word edgy here.
- 1:40:12Speaker 3: Is this, do you mean by that that we've just
- 1:40:14Speaker 3: got a perturbed Steve Sarkeesian is what we're about to
- 1:40:17Speaker 3: listen to?
- 1:40:18Speaker 4: No, that's how Sark describes Arch's demeanor right now.
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: Oh, okay. Okay, gotcha now. I see what you're saying.
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: I was looking at your description. I thought you were
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: telling me Steve Sarkeesian is going to be edgy in this.
- 1:40:32Speaker 1: I'm still interested, don't worry, but I was just going
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: to sell it differently. All right, this is Steve Sarkeesian
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: talking about his quarterback, Arch Manning. How has he been
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: in practice as a leader?
- 1:40:44Speaker 7: Because these guys know that he's the most talked about
- 1:40:47Speaker 7: player in America right now.
- 1:40:49Speaker 2: I would use the word edgy, and I like it.
- 1:40:52Speaker 2: He's edgy right now. And, you know, I think that
- 1:40:56Speaker 2: somebody texted me today That we lost the Aw Shucks kid,
- 1:41:01Speaker 2: you know, and we've created something else. I don't know
- 1:41:05Speaker 2: if we lost him. We created this, you know, we did.
- 1:41:08Speaker 2: All of us, y'all included me, the whole thing, right?
- 1:41:12Speaker 2: Everybody on ESPN, we've created this. And so we'll see
- 1:41:16Speaker 2: what comes out of it. But he's edgy right now.
- 1:41:18Speaker 2: And honestly, I appreciate that about him. At some point,
- 1:41:21Speaker 2: he's got to fight back. And the best way for
- 1:41:23Speaker 2: him to fight back is going out and playing really
- 1:41:25Speaker 2: good football with his teammates and enjoy playing football with
- 1:41:27Speaker 2: his teammates. And so, you know, I'm looking forward to
- 1:41:31Speaker 2: watching him compete Saturday night.
- 1:41:35Speaker 1: What did we do? How did we change Arch Manning?
- 1:41:39Speaker 1: I didn't know I was going to get blamed for
- 1:41:40Speaker 1: something at that sale.
- 1:41:41Speaker 7: Of course.
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: I mean, you know, the media is always going to
- 1:41:43Speaker 1: get blamed for, you know, hyping this guy up too much.
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: You know, wasn't it Sark a couple of weeks ago
- 1:41:49Speaker 1: that said, well, if he had a different name, we'd
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: be really hyping him up. Yeah, I mean, and we
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: disagreed with that. Like, if he had a different name,
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: we'd be benching him. Yeah, I mean, let's go through
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: some former Texas quarterbacks like Jevin Sneed.
- 1:42:02Speaker 3: I mean, who were some of the very, very average quarterbacks? Because,
- 1:42:06Speaker 3: you know, this is not Colt McCoy. This is not
- 1:42:08Speaker 3: Vince Young. I mean, I thought Quinn Ewers was a
- 1:42:12Speaker 3: better quarterback. Quinn Ewers got run off for Arch Manning.
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: He did. Went to the NFL too early. Got drafted
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: in the seventh round by the Dolphins. Now, I think
- 1:42:20Speaker 1: he's out of the league. He's out of Miami. I
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: don't know where else he'd be. Yeah, I think Sark
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: might have killed his career.
- 1:42:24Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: I mean. legitimately telling him to get out.
- 1:42:27Speaker 3: And then he makes the decision to go to the
- 1:42:29Speaker 3: NFL before the NIL money had gotten to where.
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: It actually is. He could have, he made the decision
- 1:42:35Speaker 1: to go to the NFL, but there would have been
- 1:42:36Speaker 1: a lot of takers for Quinn Ewers.
- 1:42:38Speaker 3: I'm just saying like right now, like Quinn Ewers, there's
- 1:42:41Speaker 3: a lot of teams that would love to have Quinn
- 1:42:43Speaker 3: Ewers as their quarterback.
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: It's so weird. I just stumbled across this on Twitter
- 1:42:48Speaker 1: as we were talking about Arch and Steve Sarkeesian. There's
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: an article today in the Statesman that is in Austin.
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: I think they call it the Austin American Statesman is
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: the name of the newspaper. And it's in their business section,
- 1:43:03Speaker 1: but it's talking about how Texas football is embracing artificial intelligence,
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: the robot. I want you to listen to this passage
- 1:43:11Speaker 1: shared by Danny Davis, who is a writer for the Statesman.
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: So this is actually shared. I don't know that he
- 1:43:16Speaker 1: wrote the article, but it's shared by one of the
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: writers of the newspaper. Okay, so he's sharing it. So
- 1:43:20Speaker 1: this is not something I'm being duped. because it sounds
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: like I'm being duped. Here's the quote, or not the quote,
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: but here's the passage from the article. In the fourth
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: quarter of last week's game against Florida at Royal Memorial Stadium,
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: the Longhorns put the new initiative to use. Down 20
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: to 17, facing a fourth and two, Texas needed a spark.
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: So Coach Steve Sarkeesian and his staff turned to their
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: new artificial intelligence data analytics platform, BevoLab. While the Longhorns
- 1:43:52Speaker 1: ultimately failed to convert after quarterback Arch Manning lost three
- 1:43:56Speaker 1: yards on the play, Del Conte, that is the athletic director, said,
- 1:44:01Speaker 1: I'm sorry, it updated. Del Conte said the moment was
- 1:44:04Speaker 1: a pivotal embrace of the new technology. I mean, you
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: don't let this come out. It's wild to me.
- 1:44:10Speaker 3: Yeah. Like, OK, the offensive genius Sark's going to lead
- 1:44:13Speaker 3: on the computer now.
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: It's fourth and two. What did the computer have to
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: tell you?
- 1:44:18Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: Like, don't you have, like, one of these fourth and
- 1:44:20Speaker 1: two plays? Yeah. That's two-point conversion play.
- 1:44:24Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:44:24Speaker 3: We've always talked about this fast, you know, sheet that
- 1:44:28Speaker 3: Sark's got. And, you know, he's one of the most
- 1:44:30Speaker 3: creative play callers out there. And you've got to go
- 1:44:32Speaker 3: to the robot.
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, look. And how does this become public knowledge?
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: I mean, it's in the Austin American Statesman. And it
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: looks like there was an interview with Dale Conte, the
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: athletic director. Now, I didn't see, I haven't read the
- 1:44:44Speaker 1: whole article. I just read the part that the newspaper
- 1:44:46Speaker 1: writer there at the Statesman is sharing. But we know
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: I'm sad Del Conte said this.
- 1:44:50Speaker 3: Because of the robot, we know how many people in
- 1:44:53Speaker 3: mainstream America have been laid off.
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:44:55Speaker 3: I mean, the robot probably would coach Texas for a
- 1:44:57Speaker 3: lot cheaper. You think you could have them in the playoffs?
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: I mean, they wouldn't be worse than two losses right
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: now with the robot. Yeah. Of course, the robot, obviously,
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: he's got a robot you got to get with this
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: play calling, man. I mean, yeah. I don't know what
- 1:45:09Speaker 1: the robot was doing there on fourth and two, but
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: the play did not work. I'd like to know what, like,
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: was Sark using, was it just all-encompassing? Like, Sark was
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: looking at, do I go for it here? If I
- 1:45:20Speaker 1: go for it, do I run or pass? If I run,
- 1:45:23Speaker 1: is the play, you know, which run play is the
- 1:45:25Speaker 1: most effective if I pass? Which I'd like to know
- 1:45:28Speaker 1: just how all-encompassing it is. Like, what are you looking
- 1:45:31Speaker 1: for there? Is it just a go or no go?
- 1:45:32Speaker 1: Or is it go plus information, no go plus information?
- 1:45:35Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? Yeah.
- 1:45:36Speaker 3: I guess it is a little more complicated than we
- 1:45:38Speaker 3: just kind of throw it out there. But, like, you've
- 1:45:41Speaker 3: got an offensive staff that you work all week and
- 1:45:44Speaker 3: all summer with. And, like, I would think you would
- 1:45:46Speaker 3: lean more on that. I know AI is very efficient
- 1:45:51Speaker 3: in some arenas.
- 1:45:52Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, listen, we're all using it. You use it.
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: I use it. I really don't. I need to start
- 1:45:58Speaker 1: using it. You don't. Use it when you don't realize
- 1:46:00Speaker 1: you're using it. Yeah, you're right. You're using products that
- 1:46:03Speaker 1: use it. So we're all beneficiaries of it. It just
- 1:46:06Speaker 1: sounds weird in the heat of a game that a
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: coach is going to something called Bevo Lab, which is
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: their analytics program, you know? It just sounds weird when
- 1:46:14Speaker 1: you say that. That's fourth and two. Let's go to
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: Bevo Lab and see what happens. Have you ever noticed
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: on ESPN when they go to their go or no-go analytics,
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: does it ever say not to go for it?
- 1:46:23Speaker 4: No.
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: No.
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: I've never once seen ESPN's like, oh, they don't need
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: to go for it.
- 1:46:28Speaker 3: I don't know if the robot's feeding the analytics. The
- 1:46:30Speaker 3: robot's very aggressive.
- 1:46:31Speaker 1: I think it's ESPN like, we want to create as
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: much excitement as we can and go for it. Everything
- 1:46:35Speaker 1: says go for it. It's like the late Mike Leach
- 1:46:38Speaker 1: is telling them. Yeah, no, just go for it. Just
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: go for it. Yeah, you're right. I've never seen no go.
- 1:46:42Speaker 1: I mean, maybe it says punt sometimes or field goal,
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: but it always seems like it's telling me to go
- 1:46:47Speaker 1: when the ESPN goes to the analytics. Username. It's a
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: long title here. Username says that shouldn't be allowed in
- 1:46:56Speaker 1: college football. Yeah, I mean, analytics are already there, though.
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: I'm not saying they had a computer on the sidelines
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: or an iPad on the sidelines spitting it out. No,
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: it's part of it.
- 1:47:06Speaker 3: You know, I saw a commercial earlier this year and
- 1:47:08Speaker 3: I forgot which organization in the NFL. And you might
- 1:47:13Speaker 3: remember Seattle Seahawks. And they talk about their A.I. analyst
- 1:47:16Speaker 3: that's on staff and how A.I. was a big part
- 1:47:19Speaker 3: of their season last year. You know, I don't know
- 1:47:21Speaker 3: to what degree I find it hard to believe that,
- 1:47:24Speaker 3: you know, at that point, you've got Clint Kubiak that
- 1:47:27Speaker 3: is leaning on the robot for a fourth and two
- 1:47:29Speaker 3: with Kenneth Walker in the backfield.
- 1:47:31Speaker 1: Yeah. Smuff says Sark is a very good O.C. when
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: he has superior talent. A very okay to good head coach. Well,
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: that's it. Yeah. And I've always said that about Sartre. Always.
- 1:47:41Speaker 1: I mean, he has superior talent in Tuscaloosa, and that's
- 1:47:44Speaker 1: why he got the Texas job. Everybody called him. They
- 1:47:48Speaker 1: talked about him for a full year the way they
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: talked about Buster Faulkner. When's the last time you heard
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: that name, by the way? Buster Faulkner for the first
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: couple weeks of the football season. Remember, Buster Faulkner was
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: the inventor of offense in the first month of football.
- 1:47:59Speaker 1: And then it fell apart on him.
- 1:48:00Speaker 3: But Sark has always been a really, really, really good
- 1:48:04Speaker 3: elite offensive coordinator. But when you have to delegate and
- 1:48:07Speaker 3: you've got the responsibilities of everything else that goes with
- 1:48:10Speaker 3: running a program, it just doesn't hit.
- 1:48:13Speaker 1: Yeah. Username says, I thought y'all said they consulted AI.
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: That's the way the article put it. I'm just saying
- 1:48:19Speaker 1: they don't necessarily have like an iPad and they're punching
- 1:48:21Speaker 1: it in. Maybe they do. I don't know. I think
- 1:48:23Speaker 1: that's illegal. Actually, they've got the tablets on the sidelines,
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: but I think you're limited to what you could do
- 1:48:28Speaker 1: with those. I mean, Troy says, I've never thought about it,
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: but I guess you could build an AI program, analyze
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: it the last five years of coach tendencies and develop
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: a game plan off of it. I mean, I guess
- 1:48:39Speaker 1: you could. Yeah, it does a lot of stuff. Yeah.
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: 0 for 1 for Texas.
- 1:48:43Speaker 5: That's true.
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: Texas needs to adjust theirs a little bit. I'm sure
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: Sark would take it. It wasn't the bad play call.
- 1:48:49Speaker 1: It just wasn't the execution. Play call was right. I
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: got that part right. All right. That's going to wrap
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: up the sport and state version of the next round.
- 1:48:57Speaker 1: We've got two more hours live from Bunkers and Auburn here.
- 1:49:00Speaker 1: It is on West Glend. And you can come by
- 1:49:03Speaker 1: and join us. They're going to open the doors here
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: and start serving some lunch as we're close to the
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: lunch hour, some cold beverages, and you can hang out
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: and talk football with college football fans from Baton Rouge, Louisiana,
- 1:49:15Speaker 1: from Auburn, from places all over, and have some fun
- 1:49:18Speaker 1: this afternoon. As always, we tell you on hardrock.bet backslash clay,
- 1:49:24Speaker 1: go play that $ 5 to get the $ 500 and no
