- 1:20conversation and get into the show with me.
- 1:24I am your host kefi or ghost cult kefi.
- 1:27I don't know why I'm still going by a nickname for my childhood,
- 1:29but here we are and glad to be back.
- 1:33Another week in the books. Almost Friday, Happy Thursday.
- 1:37Got a few people already watching.
- 1:38Our World Peace is here. What's up?
- 1:40The lyrics is here. Great band.
- 1:41Check them out on their socials and check out their music.
- 1:44Whatever you are streaming stuff, we're here to do the
- 1:47show. That's what's going on.
- 1:48I'm going to speed run the show. I've got some travel after the
- 1:51show so I got some stuff to do and get out of Dodge for the day
- 1:55or two. But anyway, if you're hanging
- 1:58out, glad you are here. As always, this is your show as
- 2:03much as it's mine. But I do have to say that entry
- 2:07and and membership has its privileges right?
- 2:09Like MasterCard. So if you want to join the
- 2:12conversation, feel free to give us a tip.
- 2:15We're using Stream Yard to stream all over the web.
- 2:17TikTok is not yet set up for Stream Yard, but if you want to
- 2:21come hang, please do. Hey, Pegs is here, got the
- 2:25Volbeat show. All right, my boy.
- 2:27That's awesome, dude. I'm excited about new Volbeat
- 2:30music, by the way. I haven't really talked yet
- 2:32about that, but any who, not our regulars, staffers or
- 2:37everydayers. But if you're new here and you
- 2:39want to drop us a tip, we greatly appreciate it.
- 2:41I'm going to drop the tip menu here in the comments section and
- 2:47not just how you know what you're paying for, but how to
- 2:49pay us. So I'll drop that in and then
- 2:52I'll get on with the show. You know, we every dime we make
- 2:58here at Ghost Cult, we make a little bit of money and we put
- 3:01it right back into the brand. And that's what I'm happy to do.
- 3:03Well, honestly and truly. So yeah, let's see anybody else
- 3:08is out here hanging out with us today.
- 3:12This, this picture of me there. There's going to be some fun
- 3:14here today. We're going to have a little
- 3:16more fun than usual. Check this out.
- 3:18So here's the thumbnail for today and my co-owner Omar
- 3:23Cordy, you've seen him interview people here on our YouTube and
- 3:26pop up and things we've we were kicking around thumbnail ideas
- 3:31'cause we're constantly refining what we do.
- 3:33I don't know if you'd be crazy about me sharing this, but I'm
- 3:36going to share this conversation.
- 3:37So we were talking about how to do better thumbnails and this is
- 3:41kind of hilarious. So he asked the AI to analyze
- 3:44our thumbnails to see if we're doing a good enough job and
- 3:47getting, you know, all the click clips we should get and all the
- 3:50clicks. Hey, Boba Freak is here.
- 3:52I don't know if you're a Boba Fett freak or Boba Tea freak
- 3:55with that screen name. If you got a fun screen name,
- 3:57I'm going to shout it out because that's what I like to
- 3:59do. But so this picture of me, this
- 4:01technically this thumbnail picture of me is called Cutie
- 4:04Pie Kefi. We're I'm doing that and I think
- 4:07it was inspired by Omar, who has a similar photo from a while
- 4:10back. But this is what AI thinks I
- 4:14look like. Let's discuss this for a second.
- 4:17I kind of look like tank the tech.
- 4:18If you know the famous YouTube tank the tech and twitch
- 4:21streamer, he's a pretty good looking guy.
- 4:24So I'll take this as a compliment.
- 4:26Kind of strange of of what AI thinks we look like here.
- 4:30But anyway, this is where this is the what they said to do and
- 4:34we did a little something similar with our typical
- 4:36branding and stuff. So enjoy the live stream and
- 4:40cutie pie tea fee. I'm sorry again for y'all on
- 4:43TikTok because you don't get the full experience, but if you want
- 4:46to come over to YouTube or Instagram, feel free to check us
- 4:49out there. Anyhow, it's time for the and by
- 4:52the way, this is just a fun photo of me.
- 4:53I don't really do a lot of Facebook anymore, but this has
- 4:56been one of my profile pictures for a long time.
- 4:57It's me and Ice T right before the pandemic happened in March
- 5:02of 2020 and was a listening party for body count, carnivore,
- 5:05body counts, icy and body count on tour this spring and summer.
- 5:11And for whatever reason, this picture is suddenly like got a
- 5:14little virality around it where people are like, dude, is that
- 5:17you and iced tea. It is me and iced tea.
- 5:21I'm also wearing my cat flag shirt, which is the Black Flag
- 5:24bars, but just the four white cats instead of four bars.
- 5:27I don't know where that shirt is.
- 5:28I got to go find it. But anyway, cheers everybody for
- 5:31the almost weekend. I'm going to have me a liquid
- 5:32death. I've been hoarding these liquid
- 5:34deaths because they're not going to make these anymore and it's
- 5:36all boy or this flavor separate lime.
- 5:39So cheers. I like to stay refreshed.
- 5:43Thanks to everybody who's watching.
- 5:44Matt Ward has joined King snake. Jake is back.
- 5:48Nate Jones is here. Luke Davis good that Bobo freak
- 5:51sending all the hearts. King Snake, it's great to see
- 5:54you. You've been you've been here
- 5:55before and I really appreciate you, pal.
- 5:58Any who, just some fun with photography.
- 6:01Now on to the show. It's time for the announcements
- 6:03as always at the top of the show.
- 6:05And just again, here's the tip menu one more time.
- 6:08You can tip us for some general support for $3.
- 6:11Buy us a coffee on Kofi for six. Be a real one for $25.
- 6:18I took all the time about our real ones.
- 6:20Charlotte is here. What up?
- 6:23We will rate your song live. I think I need to update that
- 6:26price and make it a little bit more.
- 6:27No one has taken me up on it. We don't charge for reviews.
- 6:30It goes called. We have reviewed about 1300
- 6:32records the last 2 1/2 years. But if you want me to rate your
- 6:35song live on the show, I will do that for a fee.
- 6:38And then of course, I'm a music business expert and a social
- 6:41media marketing expert. So if you need some help with
- 6:43your career or your music business endeavors, hit me up
- 6:46for a consulting call $75.00 for an hour.
- 6:49OK, I've I've heard the complaints.
- 6:52I'm not on screen enough. Hey, back to me.
- 6:56Hey, I'm back. I've recycled this shirt back
- 6:59into the shirt rotation. Mortuus of Bay Area death metal
- 7:02band I'm a big fan of. I also found this camo hat, this
- 7:05obituary camo hat. I don't wear a lot of camo
- 7:08except shorts, but sometimes a hat will do.
- 7:12Phil's fun TikTok is here. Michael Allen is here.
- 7:15I know of Michael Allen. I wonder if that's the Michael
- 7:16Allen I know Could be. But anywho, yeah, so that's the
- 7:21tip menu. There's our cash app.
- 7:22Feel free to hook it up. We appreciate any help you can
- 7:26give. We just got to 1,300,000 views
- 7:30on YouTube. Thanks to everybody.
- 7:33Honestly, it's a lot of hard work.
- 7:35We have like 3 or 4 or five viral videos in 13 years as a
- 7:39brand in about 8 years being on, you know, YouTube hardcore in
- 7:43about the last five or six years, really doing a lot of
- 7:46videos and video interviews. And some of this is from Shorts.
- 7:49But just I'm just so grateful to do what I do.
- 7:53I'm really glad to talk to bands all the time.
- 7:56Not just me, but our whole staff is starting to chime in on
- 7:58interviews. King Snake said something.
- 8:00Thanks, pal, Appreciate it. I see how I see how it works.
- 8:04I see how it works on the on the tick of the talk here.
- 8:08Cinta Pablo is here. I hope Chicago is here.
- 8:13David Wright is here. I wonder if that's David Wright,
- 8:15the third baseman of the Mets. I doubt it highly.
- 8:18Maybe any who. Thirteen, 1.3 million views on
- 8:21on YouTube. It's nothing to sneeze out.
- 8:24I'm really grateful. Moving on, just a little bit of
- 8:27sad personal news. I kind of sat on this for a
- 8:29little while. My dear friend Rebecca's dog,
- 8:32Simple. You've seen a lot of photos of
- 8:33me on social media with this dog and a few other dogs.
- 8:36Simple passed away a while back and I waited until she started
- 8:40to make public posts about it because you know, her immediate
- 8:42friends knew but maybe not the greater world knew that this dog
- 8:46meant a lot to me and I really love this dog a whole lot.
- 8:49Look at his face look at him. He was wonderful.
- 8:52Just kind of had some health battles the last couple years
- 8:55but he was I had pet sat for him and came to visit him and then
- 8:59like a week later he passed away.
- 9:00It was super sad, but yeah, super, super sad.
- 9:05But anyhow, rest in power. Too simple.
- 9:07He was a great pupper and he's in the great Over the Rainbow in
- 9:10the great pupper Heaven in the sky, if such a thing exists.
- 9:13Michael says. My band just released a track
- 9:15with Pete from 100 Demons. 100 Demons rules.
- 9:18One of the scariest shows of my life was 100 Demons show at
- 9:22Upstairs at the Worcester Palladium in Worcester, MA,
- 9:26where I used to live nearby and people were literally broken
- 9:30bones and picking teeth off the floor.
- 9:32I was terrified. Great band, though, live also
- 9:37also, you know, this is a tough one.
- 9:40You know, like, again, our heroes are leaving us.
- 9:42I'm not sure why. You know, I try not to focus
- 9:46only on the bad news of the music world that I try to bring
- 9:49out the good news. But man, this this is a real a
- 9:54real head scratcher, man. I don't know if you guys
- 9:57remember the band Beowulf from the Bay Area or not the Bay
- 10:02Area, sorry, from Venice Beach. They were kind of a
- 10:04contemporary, an early contemporary of Suicidal
- 10:07Tendencies and excel real crossover thrash skate punk
- 10:11band. And, you know, their long time
- 10:16guitarist passed away and a bunch of people popped up and
- 10:21talked about this guy, Christiano de Wolbers in
- 10:25particular, and a bunch of people talked about this and
- 10:30yeah, man. Oh, not Clint and not Mike.
- 10:38Who's who's the guy, man? Like this is a bummer 'cause he
- 10:43was really like a long time dude in the band and I'm blanking.
- 10:48This has been a very busy ass day.
- 10:51Christian was in that band actually briefly like a new
- 10:53version of that band. We'll, you know, they had like a
- 10:58lot of people pass away over the over the years.
- 11:00So I wanted to just kind of make sure that I had it right.
- 11:03But yeah, man, Dale Henderson, that's it.
- 11:06He was the lead vocalist and guitarist and he passed and just
- 11:09not that old a guy. So again, like a lot of guys,
- 11:13like especially guys, everybody out there, they them's men,
- 11:16women, take care of yourselves. Especially men, though, we don't
- 11:19really take care of good care of ourselves.
- 11:22And we're, we're, we're going to lose people, man.
- 11:24We lost enough rock soldiers, so try to hang in there and go to
- 11:29the doctor and get checked out and if something feels wrong,
- 11:32you know, take care of yourself. Andrew Spaulding and Bart
- 11:35Goldberg are watching on Facebook.
- 11:37Appreciate you Andrew, you're my homie.
- 11:39It's great to see you. A couple months ago exactly
- 11:42actually hope to see you again soon.
- 11:45Tom J426 is also here. Who's on hanging out?
- 11:49Hey, Piercing Medal is here. Stephanie Montoya is here,
- 11:52Hopkins Law, a lot of everydayers, Piercing medal NYC.
- 11:56Check out his stuff on all socials, including Instagram if
- 11:59you're there. And he's not just a personal
- 12:01friend of mine, but he's a great peer who does what I do a little
- 12:04bit and we do things a little differently too.
- 12:06Steph, how I hope you're well and hanging in there.
- 12:08Hopkins Law, welcome back. Ethan is also here on TikTok,
- 12:12Welcome back. It's funny how you remember
- 12:14people. It's really funny how you
- 12:16remember who's who and what's what.
- 12:18And if you're following on Twitch, feel free to follow us.
- 12:21We'll follow you back. And then again, we're just
- 12:23trying to raise awareness for our friend Lisa Mann.
- 12:25She's got a long recovery ahead after a terrible leg injury and
- 12:29surgery. She's a working musician, A
- 12:31celebrated Blues and heavy metal artist.
- 12:33Please check out White Crown Lisa Mann with two NS on all
- 12:39socials and streaming platforms, White Crown and Splintered
- 12:42Throne that is not supposed to rhyme intentionally, but it just
- 12:45happens to be. She's the singer of both
- 12:47projects and a good friend. Hey, King Snake jumped over
- 12:50here. What up?
- 12:51What up, What up? Great, great to see you back
- 12:53here. And then once again, we're just
- 12:57because sometimes you just have to have fun and have fun with
- 12:59things. Stubborn Massholes is here dude.
- 13:01I know many stubborn Massholes or stubborn assholes, but any
- 13:05who and any who, here's our friend Django with Necro Butcher
- 13:12of Mayhem. Django and Necro Butcher were on
- 13:15their way to kill Euronymus. They should have been on their
- 13:17way to kill Vargas. Fuck that guy.
- 13:19But we're trying to get Django sainthood from the sisters or
- 13:22perpetual indulgence in San Francisco, because why not?
- 13:25It's fun. Django's a friend of mine.
- 13:27We love the dogs and the cats here and so you can go to
- 13:30Change.org. You don't have to give money,
- 13:31but you can sign up for the petition.
- 13:34I think the link is still in our description.
- 13:37Guiltless band is here. We just had an interview with
- 13:39Y'all. Great to see you here.
- 13:40Great new album from Guiltless. I'm a fan and just a reminder,
- 13:44we talked about some fun stuff at the top of the show.
- 13:46Personally for me, my band Angst has been working on new
- 13:52material. I'm finally singing again in a
- 13:54band for the first time in a long time.
- 13:56We've got some stuff in the works.
- 13:57We've been doing some very cool covers, some very well known and
- 14:01some not so well known, so we'll see if you guys get to hear some
- 14:03of that soon. Repping the fine Shammy Records
- 14:07label, Angst 642, which was the first version of Angst, has a
- 14:12single out Judge and the Jury. You can stream that everywhere
- 14:15now. Whip Worm has a new record
- 14:16coming out soon. We'll be talking more about that
- 14:19Angry Noise punk rock band from Michigan.
- 14:21Stubborn assholes. Killer welcome welcome.
- 14:24We love a lot of punk rock and Angry Punkin Noise is my jam.
- 14:28Feel free to. I don't know if you guys know
- 14:30this. So every band interview we do,
- 14:32we give a shout out to an underground band, usually an
- 14:35underground band, a not as well known band, a brand, a record
- 14:39label, a store, something about rock and metal.
- 14:43So if you follow us on YouTube and then send us a screen cap,
- 14:48we will give you a mention in a future interview and we do
- 14:51interviews all the time. We're about to get to them now.
- 14:55Steph, I'm sorry to hear you're not OK.
- 14:57You know, the D Ms. are always open and I consider you a
- 14:59friend. I am cool in the gang.
- 15:02But you know, stay in touch and if you need some support, we're
- 15:05here for you. DM us and I hope you're enjoying
- 15:10your records that you won in the contest we had.
- 15:12I know Nick was telling me that that got out to you.
- 15:14So I'm very happy about that. So yeah, that's my band if you
- 15:18want to follow my personal band Angst Music SF.
- 15:21Yes, it's there are money bands named Angst, but we are Angst
- 15:23music SF for San Francisco. Anywho, it's time for some
- 15:28features. That wasn't too bad 15 minutes
- 15:29before and now the features. Let's rapid fire through this.
- 15:35We had a gang of new interviews this week here on the channel.
- 15:39But Jester, before I get into the features and interviews, we
- 15:41are giving away tickets to Punk Rock Bowling in Las Vegas next
- 15:47weekend. So you have a few more days to
- 15:49get in on this. Go to our Instagram post, tag a
- 15:51friend, share the post for more entries like as opposed to a
- 15:55reel, but find our pin post like that post, tag a friend.
- 15:59That's all you got to do. If you want to follow us, that
- 16:01helps. But we are picking winners at
- 16:04random, preferably if you live in Las Vegas or near Las Vegas
- 16:07or striking distance to Las Vegas.
- 16:10It looks like a great lineup. We were super stoked to partner
- 16:12up with Punk Rock Bowl and we've covered it a few times.
- 16:15We are we are covering it again. I'm super stoked.
- 16:20Wayne Edwards, who's a Stringer for Ghost Cult and has his own
- 16:23blog and stuff is going out there one more time to to do the
- 16:26whole weekend and I'm really excited about this.
- 16:28So definitely check it out. Enter the contest and win.
- 16:32We'll have more giveaways and stuff in the future.
- 16:34I'm really pumped. So that's the thing.
- 16:37Now for the interviews. Here we go all the features.
- 16:41Rivers of Niles new record is coming out at the end of the
- 16:44month. But we ran my interview with
- 16:46Brodie Utley, who I've interviewed before I've met.
- 16:48I've interviewed the band a few times, including former vocalist
- 16:51Jake Dick Diffenbaugh. But I'm really excited about
- 16:54this new Rivers of Niles self-titled album, their first
- 16:57self-titled album. It is another sort of quasi
- 17:00concept record coming out on Metal blades on on May 30th and
- 17:04you can check on my interview there.
- 17:08King Snake Jakes has got a chance to see A Pawn A Burning
- 17:10Body in King 81-O this past week or Notch Enemy this Saturday and
- 17:14Obituary Monday. Nice, nice, nice.
- 17:19You know a pawn a burning body. I I like them when they first
- 17:23came out and I was never really into them once.
- 17:26They kind of pulled some bullshit back in the day if you
- 17:29remember the Mayhem fest days. But solid band.
- 17:31I just don't care for, you know, it's the same thing.
- 17:34Like Ghost Bath has got a new album out and they're one of the
- 17:36coolest black metal bands I've probably heard in the last 10
- 17:39years. And like they pulled a publicity
- 17:41stunt right when they came out and it just pissed me off.
- 17:44But I'm, they're a good band. Like I don't want to hold it
- 17:46against them forever. I guess maybe I'll give a pawn a
- 17:48Burning body another chance. I don't know.
- 17:51King 81-O is fresh though. I like them a lot.
- 17:53And of course we love Gore and Arch Enemy here.
- 17:56Also past interviewees of Ghost Cult Mag.
- 18:00Also in the interview list this week.
- 18:02Misfire. Just wrapping up their tour with
- 18:04Exodus this week. Incredible crossover thrash band
- 18:07with a new record out on Monarch Heavy King stole the night.
- 18:11I'm not surprised. They are phenomenal.
- 18:13They are phenomenal band. That guy could really just be a
- 18:15rapper. He's that good, honestly.
- 18:17Wally Lozano is here. Hey Wally, what's up?
- 18:20And then today we ran my interview with Mayors of the
- 18:22Race. I have followed this band for 15
- 18:25years. One of the best sludge and doom
- 18:27bands. Not very prolific, but they have
- 18:28had two records out in the last three years.
- 18:31Killer duo of just oppressive sludge metal and doom.
- 18:36And they are going on tour with Conan across North America,
- 18:40Super killer tour. I really need to see this.
- 18:42I've interviewed Therese Lance a few times.
- 18:45Just an innovative, creative genius.
- 18:47And I cannot brag enough about this record coming out tomorrow.
- 18:50It's a banger. I don't think it's listed here
- 18:53in the deck, but just we also ran.
- 18:56You know, I go to shows and I don't want to be one of these
- 18:58people, you know, holding my fucking dumb phone up the whole
- 19:01time like this like an asshole and you're behind me and you
- 19:04can't see. And I have trouble seeing over
- 19:06tall people. But I will film a song or two
- 19:09for social media and occasionally I will post that
- 19:12video if I like the song enough or I feel like we can do it
- 19:15justice. And so occasionally I will film
- 19:18a whole song of a band and then put my phone back down.
- 19:20So I filmed, we went to the kick off show of the Machine Head
- 19:23tour at the hometown show in Oakland with In Flames, Lacuna
- 19:28Coil and On Earth, and I took some footage of those bands.
- 19:31I've got a cool In Flames video to put up eventually.
- 19:34So we ran a Machine Head video. If you love Machine Head, check
- 19:37out them playing one of their killer songs on that record from
- 19:41their not their most recent record, but that's brand new,
- 19:44but their last record, Choke on the Ashes of very 8.
- 19:47Tell us what you think of the video.
- 19:49It's a little shaky, but you know, I did my best.
- 19:52That's also on our channel this week.
- 19:53So a lot of content flying around on YouTube.
- 19:55Check it out. Also, we have a podcast.
- 19:57The show will be a podcast. All these interviews are
- 20:00podcasts as well as some exclusive podcast content.
- 20:03Definitely wherever you check out your pods, check ours out.
- 20:06I appreciate you. And because I don't have enough
- 20:08to do, I am the Co host of the Glacially musical podcast.
- 20:11Beer, metal, swearing, vinyl, nerdism, sometimes NHL hockey,
- 20:16pop culture references, Kevin Smith movies.
- 20:18Who knows what we'll talk about? The host is Nick Cameron, I'm
- 20:21one of the Co hosts. The other Co host is Don de
- 20:23Lamont. Dillinger Compound has arrived.
- 20:26What up Dillinger? I'm going on a more on the
- 20:28regular tip time today. So you just tuned in near the
- 20:32beginning of the show. Great to see you pal.
- 20:35I got some real ones here, Stephanie and piercing metal,
- 20:39NYC and King Snake, Jake and Dillinger Compound.
- 20:41I'm so happy. But yeah, this week for a
- 20:43special Chaser episode of the podcast, we unboxed the vinyl
- 20:48deep dive, the movie and the live album.
- 20:51The brand new live album by Pink Floyd.
- 20:52Maybe really their first true live album ever with the classic
- 20:56lineup Live at Pompeii. You can watch this on On Demand
- 20:59and streaming. It was briefly in the movies.
- 21:01I'm a little pissed about it 'cause I missed it.
- 21:03It was only in IMAX for a couple of days.
- 21:05Not like the Zeppelin movie that's been playing and playing
- 21:07and playing, but check us out. I love Pink Floyd is my favorite
- 21:10band ever and it's awesome to just deep dive and talk about
- 21:13all the things. And I'm going to watch and
- 21:15rewatch this documentary. I rented it for 30 days from
- 21:19Amazon. So for 5 bucks, nothing,
- 21:21nothing. Rich Davis is here.
- 21:23What's up? What's up Rich?
- 21:25Also now it's time for the news rundown.
- 21:29And you know what we do when we do the news rundown?
- 21:31First I take a sip of my drink and then we talk about metal
- 21:37festivals and there's a lot of them to talk about this week.
- 21:39So I'm going to embig in the screen and take me away for a
- 21:42minute and then we'll we'll get there.
- 21:46So yeah, remember going to festivals, how it feels coming
- 21:49in, how it feels going out. We are in the thick of festival
- 21:51season this weekend. Ghost Cult is covering Milwaukee
- 21:56Metal Fest. There's a pre party right now.
- 21:58Tonight, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, we are down in Milwaukee
- 22:02covering down Black Label Society, gore, Devon towns and
- 22:07arch enemies. Scour exodus, 3 inches of blood,
- 22:10sacred right, destruction, harm's way, speed, suicide,
- 22:14silence, Enslaved, Paradise Lost, worm, rot, fugitive.
- 22:18This is bananas. My homies in demolition hammer
- 22:21from my hometown in the Bronx, NY.
- 22:23What up? And I mean, this is so good.
- 22:27I got to get to this. Maybe next year, I'm not sure.
- 22:30This and or Milwaukee Metal Fest, Milwaukee Metal Fest or
- 22:33Maryland Death Fest, which we'll talk about in a minute.
- 22:35I got to get to these. I got to get to these.
- 22:39Also this weekend, Welcome to Rock film from Danny Wimmer
- 22:42Presents, Shinedown, Green Day, Lincoln Park, Corn, Rob Zombie,
- 22:46Good Charlotte, Pierce The Veil, Bad Omens, Knock Loose, Mastodon
- 22:50and St. Clown Posse, Testament, Body
- 22:52Count, Kill Switch Day Seeker, Dillinger Escape Plan,
- 22:56Underoath, Whitechapel, Power Trip and so many more.
- 23:02So many more cool bands. So definitely a lot of a lot of
- 23:06hot hot heat going on in Rockville.
- 23:08Let me let me kill ghostcultmag.com banners.
- 23:13Please visit Ghost Cult Mag for all your metal and rock news.
- 23:17We are the not shitty metal sucks.
- 23:19We are the not sucky blabbermouth.
- 23:21Let's just bust up these comments.
- 23:25Nice work. Thank you everybody for joining.
- 23:28I love when Dillinger has arrived.
- 23:30Hope Dillinger is on the stage as we speak at Rockville.
- 23:33Amazing. I'm sure the videos will be
- 23:35everywhere from both fans and semi professionals.
- 23:38Go check it out. Also this weekend a lot of
- 23:41changes going on with the inaugural Boardwalk Rock
- 23:44Festival. Originally Mötley Crüe was the
- 23:45Co headliner, they dropped out, then Allison Chase took their
- 23:48place. You know, they dropped out and
- 23:50now Rob Zombie has come in to save the day.
- 23:53Saturday, Def Leppard, Rob Zombie, Hailstorm, Bush
- 23:56Chevelle, Flyleaf, Mammoth, WVH, The Struts, Extreme puddle of
- 24:00Mudda da da da da Everclear for some reason trapped Kat Von D
- 24:05for some reason. Royal Lynn, who's really awesome
- 24:08in his debut album, is coming out soon.
- 24:09Graham is here. What up Graham?
- 24:11And then on Sunday, Nickelback, Shinedown, Three days, Grace,
- 24:16Alice Cooper, Brett Michaels, solo Candlebox, Night Ranger
- 24:19Motor Van Oh, y'all know I love me some Night Ranger crossfade,
- 24:24Dorothy Blackstone, Cherry lit Fuel, Saliva and Tim Montana.
- 24:29Yeah, Trouble is out there doing their thing.
- 24:30I believe that our homie Carl Agel, formerly of Corrosion and
- 24:35Conformity, I believe is singing for trouble on this kind of like
- 24:39farewell tribute tour. Hey, Jamie Roberts is here.
- 24:42Maybe that's the Jamie Roberts. Yes.
- 24:44Oh, hey, Jamie, how you doing? I am currently talking about the
- 24:47Boardwalk Rock Fest in Ocean City, MD, a brand new inaugural
- 24:52fest. And originally Mötley Crüe was
- 24:55headlining with Def Leppard and Nickelback in Shinedown.
- 24:58And then they got replaced by Alice In Chains, who have now
- 25:01been replaced by Rob Zombie. Hey, Jamie, great to see you and
- 25:05I hope you're well. It's it's great to reconnect
- 25:07with you over e-mail and here on socials.
- 25:11Yeah, man, I, you know, I'm very excited for trouble.
- 25:13I'm a big Stoner metal fan and a Stoner doom metal fan.
- 25:16So, you know, rest in peace to Eric Wagner.
- 25:20He's one of the best vocalist to ever do it.
- 25:22Like there's so many people in Stoner rock and Stoner doom that
- 25:25are very derivative of the classic great bands.
- 25:28But Eric, he sound he could sound like Ozzy, but he also
- 25:31kind of had his own thing and I love that about them.
- 25:35So I hope they continue to make new music or maybe they bring
- 25:38back the skull and things like that.
- 25:39So that would be super cool. Thanks everybody that's
- 25:42watching. Also this weekend I wish I was
- 25:44here crew world festival on Saturday in Pasadena, CA.
- 25:49I believe it the Rose bowl grounds new order, Nick cave in
- 25:53the bad seeds, the go go's who have Jane weedling back.
- 25:56Who's my favorite Devo OMD death cult which is the cult in their
- 26:01pre sort of post punk band death cult garbage who are headlining
- 26:07everywhere all over the world this year.
- 26:09Madness till Tuesday. Amy Mann rolls she wants
- 26:12revenge. Allison Weyet of Yaz.
- 26:14Chelsea Wolf who I absolutely love.
- 26:17Stereo NC. She passed away.
- 26:19Buzzcock Buzzcocks. Clan of Xymox, Kite Midge, Year
- 26:24of Ultravox, and so many more. That is such a cool festival.
- 26:29Perhaps one year I will get it. Oh, is it Corey Clark?
- 26:32He also sang for Trouble. That's right, Corey's
- 26:34incredible. Corey Clark can do kind of
- 26:36anything. I love me some Warrior Soul.
- 26:38Corey is very underrated, one of the best to ever do it.
- 26:42I was a big Warrior Soul fan and I think Corey has been giving
- 26:45some interviews where he was like, I don't know if Rage
- 26:47Against the Machine heard me before Raging as a Machine, but
- 26:50kind of Warrior Soul had kind of a rappy thing too, where they
- 26:53were very political and did rap. Very interesting.
- 26:56This this kind of broke my head. This week, Trent Reznor and
- 27:02Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails announced their debut festival.
- 27:06They've been hinting for like a year they were going to do some
- 27:08kind of multimedia festival slash art installation events.
- 27:16Nice, nice work. You're in the Wasteland Ward.
- 27:22So, so Future Ruins is this festival.
- 27:24It's going to take place November 8th at the Equestrian
- 27:27Fairgrounds, the equestrian center of Los Angeles.
- 27:30I am not familiar with this. If anybody's in LA person and
- 27:32you know about this area, please let me know.
- 27:35But this is, you know, a lot of festivals say we're
- 27:39groundbreaking, we're unique, we're one-of-a-kind.
- 27:41This is all those things. So I did a live stream on this
- 27:44last night. When this show is over, feel
- 27:46free to go watch that live stream.
- 27:48I was a little choppy at the beginning personally, but
- 27:50because I was tired and then I kind of picked it up.
- 27:52I'm on a bunch of new meds and it's really making me very
- 27:54sleepy at odd times. But I'm hoping to get regulated
- 27:57soon. But this is basically composers,
- 28:01film composers, television composers.
- 28:03Some of the best to ever do it, including Claudia Simonetti's
- 28:07Goblin, John Carpenter, Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein, who you
- 28:10definitely know from Stranger Things and other things.
- 28:13Terence Blanchard, the Questlove doing all of like the Curtis
- 28:17Mayfield Superfly score and and and songs.
- 28:20Unbelievable. So, you know, we don't know
- 28:22quite what it is. We don't know quite what Trent
- 28:25and Atticus are gonna do. They could do a Nine Inch Nails
- 28:27set. 9 Inch Nails is right on tour right up until this
- 28:30weekend, just about all over the world starting in June.
- 28:35And I know that Trent said, you know, he doesn't want to tour as
- 28:37much anymore. His kids are getting older.
- 28:38He's got five kids, you know, but I'm so thrilled that he's
- 28:42bringing this. This thing looks amazing.
- 28:44Even if we don't get to go or cover it, I would.
- 28:46I'm just hope this it becomes a regular thing.
- 28:49I I definitely see it had could have potential.
- 28:53And here's the little thumbnail in case you go back to YouTube
- 28:55and you're looking for the actual video.
- 28:56This is the thumbnail I made with a great Photo by my friend
- 28:59Meg loyal photography. This was shot at Aftershock.
- 29:02I'm going to say 2017 or 2018. Marilyn, Jeff Fest is right
- 29:07around the corner. Here are the daily lineups, in
- 29:11case you're curious. We'll continue to pump this up
- 29:13and bust this up. Nicholson Jack is here.
- 29:14What up, bro? Good to see you.
- 29:17Great work on your podcast and interviews.
- 29:20Lately I've been following that. Very nice, very nice.
- 29:23So Yep, this was a surprise to me, the CBGB festival.
- 29:26Now I, I, you know, there's actually, I meant to mention
- 29:28there's a CB GB exhibit this weekend at the Alley Art
- 29:32Exhibition space in Chicago where they have a lot of
- 29:35memorabilia from Hilly Crystal's personal collection.
- 29:38I don't know if people know I'm from New York City.
- 29:41I played CBGBS many times with my bands.
- 29:43I attended CBGBS countless times from the mid to late 80s all the
- 29:48way through the closing till I relocated out of town.
- 29:52Kind of synonymously. This is a great lineup.
- 29:54Biggie Pop Jack White, Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter,
- 29:57The Damned, Destroy Boys, Crow Mags, Angel Dust, Gorilla
- 30:02Biscuits. My favorite hardcore band.
- 30:03Never, Johnny Mar from The Smiths, Lambrini Girls, Linda
- 30:07Linda's Luna chicks, Oh Luna Chicks are one of my first
- 30:10shows. Marky Ramone scowl, Melvins soul
- 30:15glow, Murphy's law, teen mortgage and many more.
- 30:18A little surprised that Agnostic Front is not on this, but I
- 30:20believe it's the same weekend as Riot Fest and Riot Fest has like
- 30:25an Agnostic Front exclusive album place.
- 30:27Or maybe there was some rule that they couldn't go play
- 30:31another place that was similar, like another set at a similar
- 30:35festival that weekend. There are kind of interesting
- 30:37rules about festivals and festival band line UPS.
- 30:39Derek says he's played there years ago.
- 30:41Killer Derek, I'm so proud of you and I'm proud of me too.
- 30:45That stage was paper thin and I was like so much chubbier than I
- 30:48am now and just hair and chub and base.
- 30:51And I used to jump around a lot on stage.
- 30:53Kind of like A7 dust or a hate breed.
- 30:55And I don't know how it can go through the floor.
- 30:56But anyway, RPM Fest is unveiled the majority of their lineup.
- 31:02This is sick. We have supported as a sponsor
- 31:04of RPM Fest. We covered RPM Fest a lot, heavy
- 31:07music and camping in western Massachusetts just about Labor
- 31:11Day weekend. Conan Ghoul and Horrendous are
- 31:14the top 3 bands. Royal Thunder coming back, been
- 31:17a little concerned about them. Midnight Stark killed duel coma.
- 31:22Mierda mean mistreater, Sum Nuri I mean coma Whole who we've
- 31:30interviewed here recently. Borracho Mayors at the race
- 31:32again, so hideous. Great band, so so many killer
- 31:36bands. A burst is on here from Mass
- 31:38also so definitely check this out.
- 31:42This is a great experience. I've heard nothing but good
- 31:44things. One of these years I might make
- 31:46it out to this as well. Just it may not be for everybody
- 31:50watching this show, but Portola right here in our backyard of
- 31:53San Francisco. I always like to shout out this
- 31:54festival. Dance music, party atmosphere
- 31:57safe. I don't know that it's family
- 31:59friendly, but LCD sound system, Christina Aguilera, Chemical
- 32:03Brothers DJ set in the warehouse.
- 32:06I mean, Caribou, Magdalena Bay, Domdala, Moby, the prodigy,
- 32:12underworld Boy Harsher, who I absolutely love, but I really
- 32:15don't want to go to a festival to see Boy Harsher.
- 32:18But what a what a from the blood orange.
- 32:20So kind of a sick lineup, honestly.
- 32:22Also, all these festivals are happening either this weekend or
- 32:25this particular third weekend in September.
- 32:27It is bananas. It is bananas.
- 32:30Yeah, Pat, great to see you, bro.
- 32:32I'm I'm so happy to see you here.
- 32:33I hope you're doing great. Ryanfest has announced their
- 32:35daily lineups. You can check out the post that
- 32:37goes cult right now, headline by Blink 182, Weezer and Green Day.
- 32:42A lot of album playthroughs like I already mentioned, Agnostic
- 32:44Front, Weird Al, Yankevik, Alkaline Trio, Knocked Loose,
- 32:47The Pogues. I guess we're the backup singer
- 32:49or new singer. All time low, The Beach Boys,
- 32:53somehow, Jack White, Dropkick Murphys, The Front Bottoms,
- 32:57idols, Jawbreaker, one of my favorites, Bad Religion, The
- 33:02Academy Is go, Cobra Starship. Lot of killer bands.
- 33:05Hanson for some reason. Interesting microwave.
- 33:09Hopefully they get to play this time.
- 33:10They got rained out last time they were supposed to play.
- 33:12Incarceration Fest is coming up. I believe we're going to be
- 33:17covering this. Not loose unfortunately.
- 33:19Falling In Reverse. Unless you like them, I think
- 33:21they suck. Beartooth, Slipknot, Marilyn
- 33:23Manson, slaughter to prevail, 3 days, grace, death punch, Lamb
- 33:27of God, many other killer bands. I think a few more still to be
- 33:30named. Dillinger Compound says they'll
- 33:36prepare the ground coming up in two weeks.
- 33:37That is the new North American Rd. burn.
- 33:40That's another one. I haven't been to Toronto in
- 33:42many years and I probably should check that out, right?
- 33:46Also, again, I mentioned this last week, it does appear that
- 33:49the next Maryland Dune Fest is the final edition ever of
- 33:52Maryland Dune Fest and I am really sad about this headline.
- 33:56Speaking of trouble headline by the skull, which is basically
- 33:58trouble with other people and psychotic reaction and witch pit
- 34:05and ages and and hollow leg and red beard wall Friends of Ghost
- 34:09cult for so long and compression and High Noon Kahuna, one of the
- 34:14best name bands ever if and their music is cool too.
- 34:17So yeah, please, if you're somehow able to go to the
- 34:19Maryland Doom Fest, please get out and support.
- 34:22Also also just a reminder one more time Bloodstock open air
- 34:25that Ghost Cult covers every single year is quickly selling
- 34:29out and they have a right now in a push to get these last weekend
- 34:32passes and tickets gone, they are doing 20% off from their
- 34:36principal sponsor EMP Merch in the UK, Trivia Machine Head,
- 34:40Gojira, Emperor Ministry, Mastodon, Lacuna Coil, Fear
- 34:44Factory, Lord of the Lost Orange Goblin in one of their final
- 34:47shows me and that man, cataclysm Flotsam and jetsam, Static X
- 34:51obituary Nail bomb in an exclusive and three inches of
- 34:56blood and many many more, many, many more.
- 35:01Also, this just got announced today Night shift merch.
- 35:03You know night shift merch is a killer company.
- 35:06We have some of their stuff. They announced their party
- 35:09weekend volume 4 and this is a pretty sick.
- 35:13I love seeing the red cord on here.
- 35:14You know that a guy Kowansik from the red cord is on tour
- 35:17right now with Black Dahlia murder dying fetus with the old
- 35:23school logo right there. Incantation all out wore fuming
- 35:26mouth and many more seem seem to be getting some some massages.
- 35:34Some massages. All right, I got you pegs.
- 35:41I got you. I saw that message.
- 35:42If you're still watching. I just saw the text.
- 35:45You know, it's tough, man. I got all these screens going.
- 35:47It's amazing. This we're we're zipping through
- 35:49the show this week 'cause I got to get out of Dodge soon.
- 35:52Just a reminder. We'll talk more about it as we
- 35:54get closer. The hated and loved Tennessee
- 35:57medal devastation festival in eastern Tennessee.
- 36:01Or maybe yeah, it's taking place later this year in October.
- 36:04They just announced one of our favorite bands, Frail, sort of
- 36:08this gothic doom, witchy ambient band that I'm really a huge fan
- 36:13of. I've interviewed a few times
- 36:15here on the channel, on YouTube and they are going to now be one
- 36:18of the headliners. So stay tuned for more from
- 36:20that. This photo is a great photo of
- 36:22their band from from an ex ghost cultist, Ragin Rosie.
- 36:26She's terrific. She's moved on, moved on to
- 36:28other opportunities. Thanks again for still being
- 36:30here, Derek. I appreciate you.
- 36:33Thanks so much. All right, all right, all right,
- 36:35Nickel sack Jack, your work is top notch.
- 36:37I love this. I would love to see this and you
- 36:39on MTV live. Me too.
- 36:40Oh, metal thrashing mad, which is help created by metal Maria,
- 36:45another favorite publicist on. Thanks so much, man.
- 36:47You know, I never I always felt like I had a face for radio.
- 36:51Rick is here with exclamation points.
- 36:53I I had a broadcast journalism background before I went back to
- 36:57school for business and digital marketing.
- 36:59And, you know, I, I could be a very good host.
- 37:02I I, I can't reveal everything, but if MTV ever came, there was
- 37:06ever a channel that brought back like a headbenders ball type of
- 37:09show, I wouldn't mind putting my hat in the ring to host it.
- 37:12But of course, my heart is here it goes cult.
- 37:14But thank you, Ben. You're the best.
- 37:17All right, that was all the festival news for this week,
- 37:19Dillinger. Next week I'll talk about
- 37:21prepare the ground and a few other things as we get closer in
- 37:24to the summer season, the drama of the week.
- 37:28Oh, I didn't see this coming. Trivium and Bullet for My
- 37:32Valentine have been on this tour called the Poison Ascendancy
- 37:35Tour. The Poison and the Ascendancy
- 37:37220 year old classic metal core and thrash records and the bands
- 37:42had been buds and toured off and on or been on festivals together
- 37:45for years and years. This tour was years in the
- 37:48making. It has not gone well from a
- 37:50personality standpoint. Apparently the bands are not
- 37:53getting along and this tour was supposed to go to South America
- 37:57and Australia and Asia and Japan and it is not going to now.
- 38:01I think Trivium is going to continue to tour a little bit.
- 38:04Bullet is going to go back home to the UK and work on their next
- 38:08record and Trivium is trying to reconnoiter the tour.
- 38:11I know there was some rumors that maybe Machine Head would
- 38:13jump on a tour of South America with Trivium.
- 38:18You hate to see it. You hate to see there was like
- 38:21privately there was a lot of drama talking on Reddit and
- 38:24stuff like that. Publicly the bands were very
- 38:26professional, but there was a period of time where Paul Greg
- 38:30Aletto and Trivium kind of called out bullet on their
- 38:34Instagram and then took the post down.
- 38:36But you know, the Internet has the receipts everybody.
- 38:38So like really think before you speak.
- 38:41The music business is small. It really is small.
- 38:45That's why I you know, I love what I do and I feel lucky to do
- 38:48what I do, but it's also like you got to think first.
- 38:51But anyhow, they are not going to continue to tour together and
- 38:55we'll see what happens. Cooper municipal waste hate
- 38:58breed Metallica word word word Sonic temple.
- 39:01Yeah, I heard it was amazing on a live tendencies.
- 39:06One nice one. I get you, bro.
- 39:08Hey, something stupid with Dom. That's awesome.
- 39:10I we are big Danny Wimmer Festival fans and we'll be
- 39:14covering a few in this year. So here's the story.
- 39:16I wasn't going to talk about it until the band gave some more
- 39:19information. So this story Kelly is also
- 39:21here. Hey Kelly.
- 39:23So this story came up that there's a band called Lord
- 39:26Buffalo, not to be confused with King Buffalo or other bands with
- 39:29Buffalo in their name. They canceled their tour and the
- 39:32story the band gave initially was that their drummer was
- 39:35pulled off of the plane in Dallas right before they were
- 39:38supposed to fly over to England and Europe to tour.
- 39:41And it's originally, as the story was reported, it was like
- 39:48Border Patrol and police that took the drummer off the plane.
- 39:52And it seemed like it was motivated by citizenship and
- 39:57maybe racial profiling. It turns out that that drummer
- 40:00had warrants out for his arrest in Dallas, and that's why he was
- 40:04taking off the flight. That is actually a common thing
- 40:07if you have warrants out and you.
- 40:09Scan in for a flight in an airport.
- 40:11You might get pinged in a database.
- 40:13As a person of interest, the ban asked for privacy.
- 40:17I don't have all the rest of the details.
- 40:20I shared this story. I was appalled when I first saw
- 40:22the story because the story, as the band reported it, seemed
- 40:25like an injustice of sorts. So I am sorry if I played any
- 40:30role in perpetuating this story. It went everywhere and there are
- 40:33bigger websites than us that got many more hits and clicks off of
- 40:37the story. Sometimes if you're the first
- 40:39person with the story, you don't actually reap any benefits.
- 40:42Rico Ray is here or Rico Ray. But anyway, I think it's Rico
- 40:46Ray. But yeah, you know, best of luck
- 40:50to them. I'm sorry their tour got
- 40:51cancelled. And you know, the band seemed
- 40:55also caught unaware. So very sad.
- 40:58And I hope they, you know, I hope it gets straightened out.
- 41:03And then we were talking about this, you know, so Alice In
- 41:07Chains not only cancelled their festival appearances, which
- 41:12people are really devastated about, they were going on this
- 41:14tour with Chain St. Chain Street is the teenage
- 41:19band. Somebody's like, I lied.
- 41:21I did not lie. I did not have all the facts.
- 41:23There's a difference. I don't lie and ridiculous.
- 41:31Anyway, I love my friends and Mike, there's a shout out for
- 41:34you if you hang in there and watch the show later.
- 41:37But also I did the Mad Dog Russo opening.
- 41:40I don't know anyone else who would get that except you and
- 41:43other New Yorkers. But anyway, so Allison Chains
- 41:46not only canceled their shows, their festival shows because of
- 41:49Sean Kenny's illness and eventual cancellation of the
- 41:52whole tour. This impacted chain St.
- 41:55These were some national huge those for them, Mohegan Sun
- 41:59Arena, Nashville at the Pinnacle and the Dothan Civic Center in
- 42:03Alabama for Chain St. the teenage post grunge Hard Rock
- 42:07band. So be on the lookout for them.
- 42:08I feel really bad about them. We'll talk a little bit more
- 42:11about Alice In Chains in a minute.
- 42:14In that one second actually. So here's a picture here by my
- 42:18co-owner and partner, Omar Cordy.
- 42:20This is William Duvall obviously with Sean Kinney behind him a
- 42:23few years back. And Sean made a statement today.
- 42:26He doesn't really like social media.
- 42:27He's not on social media, but he wanted to let everybody.
- 42:30He's more sad and sorry to have to cancel than anybody.
- 42:34He understands that fans were disappointed and angry and he is
- 42:40sorry they're not going to be able to make up these shows.
- 42:43Hopefully Alice In Chains comes back in a year with a new album.
- 42:46I know Jerry Cantrell has more touring planned and other than
- 42:49the Black Sabbath farewell show with Ozzy, I don't know that
- 42:52Alice In Chains members are going to do anything else this
- 42:55year publicly. But anyway, best of luck to
- 42:58Sean. I hope it's nothing major.
- 43:00Something stupid with Dom says. I keep seeing ads for Chains St.
- 43:03That's right, you will be. They're they're a good band.
- 43:05I checked them out. Metallica continues to tour
- 43:08behind the M72 tour. You know, there's all kinds of
- 43:11Metallica activations and things, so stay tuned for more
- 43:15Metallica stuff. I think they're touring through
- 43:17the end of the year. I don't know if they're going to
- 43:19add any more shows. We heard recently they added
- 43:22obviously Dubai for the Grand Prix and Bahrain, Australia, New
- 43:28Zealand. Not sure what else they are
- 43:30doing, but here's the list if you're looking at them.
- 43:33Kirk Hammett is continuing to do his book tour, which you can see
- 43:38they will be. His next stop is 5/24 in
- 43:43Columbus. System of a Down kicked off some
- 43:49of their South American touring. And if you go on to their social
- 43:53media, there's a tremendous drone footage of the crowd that,
- 43:58like, really gives you the scope of how big they are elsewhere in
- 44:02the world. But very excited for the
- 44:04upcoming System of the Down Stadium shows.
- 44:07You know, we just hope they can keep it together.
- 44:09I don't think we're ever going to get a whole new album from
- 44:11them, but if they kept touring, that would be amazing.
- 44:14Emperor has kicked off their North American headline tour.
- 44:18Just a handful of shows across the country.
- 44:21I will be going on Saturday to see this three more shows
- 44:25tomorrow night in LA, Saturday in San Francisco, and Sunday in
- 44:30Anaheim at House of Blues and Emperor.
- 44:33Wolves in the throne room and Agalock I believe is the tour
- 44:38for the West Coast and maybe Wayfarer.
- 44:40Also super cool featuring all of in the night side.
- 44:45Eclipse basically my favorite black metal record of all time.
- 44:48Or one A1B with Olvers first one.
- 44:53Nothing's married. You're mad about the band.
- 44:55George Fisher is currently OK and Metallica we're at.
- 45:00Oh, interesting. I mean, you know, no worries Dom
- 45:06any who you got a few more weekends to catch ACDC Don't
- 45:11know if they're going to add more shows, but I hope they do
- 45:13Tampa this weekend. Nashville during the week,
- 45:16Chicago and Cleveland the weekend after.
- 45:19I really hope they come back this way, but it seems like this
- 45:22is all they're going to do for now.
- 45:24Also also, we got brand new tour dates in Australia and New
- 45:29Zealand for Brent Bjork, Trio Boy, Brent Bjork, Nick Oliveri
- 45:35and John Garcia all on tour at the same time.
- 45:37Can we not get Caius to reunite? Come on, Josh Sammoth was dating
- 45:43a girl living in your area yet no emperor shows ever.
- 45:45Damn it, how is that possible? And they probably had a place to
- 45:52crash. Holy shit Life of agony.
- 45:56I've been waiting for this. Not coming to the West Coast,
- 45:58but Life of Agony has announced the 30 Years of Ugly tour.
- 46:02I also still expect Life of Agony and Biohazard to tour
- 46:05together at some point, both on new music released.
- 46:10You can see Cannibal Corpse the louder than life, yes, I hope
- 46:12you get to. But yeah, Life of Agony, I know
- 46:16God forbid is playing a couple of those East Coast shows.
- 46:20We might show up at one of those.
- 46:21But yeah, Ugly kind of the underrated Life of Agony album,
- 46:27their second full length and it's kind of awesome.
- 46:30They have God forbid on some of these shows.
- 46:33And then I know in Europe they're going to have Ugly Kid
- 46:35Joe open for them on the Ugly tour.
- 46:38And and obviously Whitfield Crane used to sing for Life of
- 46:41Agony. So that could be very
- 46:42interesting if they do some of that things.
- 46:44Where is Ghost Cult located? Well, that's a good question.
- 46:47Everywhere is the answer. We started out in Europe as a
- 46:51Zine to cover Rd. Burn and Desert Fest and things
- 46:54like that. I am originally from New York
- 46:56City, I live in San Francisco, my co-owner and partner still
- 46:59lives in New York City and we have people around the globe.
- 47:02Just this week we covered shows in Philadelphia, Manchester,
- 47:06England. I'm going to be in San Francisco
- 47:07Saturday. We're covering Milwaukee Meadow
- 47:09Fest this weekend. We are global, independent, non
- 47:14corporate. Wish we had some corporate
- 47:16sponsorship, but other than that, keeping the flame alive, I
- 47:21appreciate you. Full Man Shoes got a tour coming
- 47:25up. This is the poster from my
- 47:26hometown here for now. Not my hometown, but where I
- 47:29reside, San Francisco. I probably go to this show at
- 47:31Great American Music Hall. Full Man Shoe, The Return of
- 47:34Tomorrow, which is their amazing album from last year.
- 47:38You know, we have a guy, a couple of people that cover
- 47:40Indiana, Chicago and Milwaukee, so it's like two or three people
- 47:44that cover those areas. We always cover Riot Fest.
- 47:46We have covered metal shows and festivals in Indiana at the
- 47:50Black Circle. I think it's the Indianapolis
- 47:52Metal Club, right? That's the place we go to
- 47:54sometimes. Jesus Lizard.
- 47:57I saw this tour the other day. It was amazing.
- 48:00Just last week it was really sick.
- 48:02They're going to release a live album from this.
- 48:03They're heading over to Europe after this weekend or this
- 48:07weekend actually to Paris on Sunday, so or Saturday.
- 48:10Pretty cool, but RAC is their new album out now.
- 48:12They also put out a Record Store Day EP you should check out and
- 48:16they were amazing. Here's your tour, Dom.
- 48:19Cannibal Corpse, Municipal Waste in Folchi, right?
- 48:22Yeah, that tour has been announced.
- 48:24I'm super pumped about it. We will probably cover it.
- 48:27As you know, the Ghost Skeletor continues and people are still
- 48:30unhappy about checking their phones.
- 48:33Europe is wrapping up in the next week and then on to
- 48:37America. America, Devin Townsend's final
- 48:42tour for now is wrapping up next week.
- 48:45Power Nerd with Tesseract as their special guest.
- 48:48Omar, my co-owner, caught that show in New York just as a fan
- 48:52and it the setlist looked amazing.
- 48:55I saw it. Just a spoiler, a minor spoiler
- 48:57I saw. I peeked at the setlist.
- 48:59I'm not really coming here. They're doing LA and I'm not
- 49:03going to be able to get to it. So I'm bummed.
- 49:05But hopefully when Devin comes back, we'll get to him also.
- 49:09Also, An Evening with Testament is still on tour right now,
- 49:12performing the classic Practice What You Preach.
- 49:15I have this record on vinyl and I love this record so much.
- 49:19And they're also doing some festivals.
- 49:21Sasanta continues to tour with Primus, Puscifer and A Perfect
- 49:24Circle and awesome Dom, I'm glad you're getting to go see that.
- 49:27That's amazing. Casiero is here.
- 49:31I hope I said that correctly. But yeah, we'll be covering
- 49:34Sasanta. Also coming up soon, Baroness,
- 49:38Red and Blue tour. We got a review coming next week
- 49:40from that tour, playing all of red and Blue.
- 49:44Baroness, one of the best to ever do it live.
- 49:46I love this band. Casket Robbery kicked off their
- 49:50new headline tour, brief headline tour for the summer.
- 49:54And last night they played in Wisconsin, followed by the
- 50:00Ladies of Metal Fest in Wyoming, Denver this weekend on Sunday
- 50:06and Nebraska on Monday. When I saw Testament they did
- 50:10just play practice, but they also played some other stuff.
- 50:12Yeah, they play like their, I think when it's their headline
- 50:15show, they are doing mostly practice what You Preach and
- 50:18some hits. And then I think in a festival
- 50:20setting they only have like 30 or 35 minutes.
- 50:23Big Testament fan. I've been rocking Testament all
- 50:25week. Honestly.
- 50:26Like on a Big Testament kick, decapitated Krypton, C war
- 50:30bringer incarnation continue to ride through Europe.
- 50:33You can check our website for review of that tour.
- 50:38Once again, we're at the halfway point of the show.
- 50:39We're more than halfway. Just a reminder if you want to
- 50:42throw us a tip. I am really appreciate it.
- 50:45It helps all the money goes back into the company.
- 50:48Another sip of the liquid death. My homie asked about turnstile.
- 50:54I think we covered turnstile a lot the last couple of weeks
- 50:58under the bridge in Brooklyn. yo-yo, I is that the same spot
- 51:03they used to have like Primus and Faith No More on the
- 51:07waterfront. There's that all apartments now.
- 51:08Mike, do tell. I, I went back to New York a
- 51:12year and a half ago and I, I didn't spend that much.
- 51:15I didn't really go to Brooklyn much.
- 51:17It was mostly in the boogie down.
- 51:18I did go to Saint Vitus before they closed.
- 51:20That was a bummer. Just a reminder, in case you're
- 51:23looking at ghostcultman.com and you see ads, that's our partners
- 51:26at Lamb Goat and the Lamb Goat Media Network.
- 51:28If you have a band brand, something to do with metal or
- 51:31you want to market to metalpeoplecheckoutthelambgoatmedianetwork@lgmedia.com
- 51:37members of the Lamb Go Media. In addition, obviously Lamb Goat
- 51:40and Ghost Co R Metal Insider, New Metal Agenda and Anthony
- 51:44Fantano of the needle drop. We will talk about the needle
- 51:48drop in just a second. I have a new story about that
- 51:50guy who I like by the way. And also if you're watching
- 51:53this, unfortunately everywhere but TikTok, you're watching this
- 51:56via stream yard. Stream Yard is what I used to do
- 51:58all my live streams. It's super cool and functional.
- 52:01I can see who's watching and commenting.
- 52:04I can bring in most of the comments and I'm super stoked.
- 52:08Thanks again. Piercing Metal, Andrew Spalding,
- 52:10Bart Goldberg and all the people watching everywhere.
- 52:13Dillinger Compound, King Snake, Jake, Stephanie Montoya, all my
- 52:17peeps, Nickel Sack Jack. And if you sign up with our link
- 52:22in the description, you get $10 off your subscription and we get
- 52:26$10 off our next bill. So it's super helpful and we
- 52:29thank you for your support. Moving on with the show, Rapid
- 52:32Fire a pal. We're also on Twitch.
- 52:35We got a newsletter, we're on threads, we're on Blue Sky,
- 52:37we're on Discord. I post things to Reddit.
- 52:40If you like these things, follow us there.
- 52:42If you don't like these things, that's cool too.
- 52:44You can watch this show once a week and get your news that way.
- 52:48PP is the only influence of the matters.
- 52:50Dillinger Compound, I love you. I just love you.
- 52:56I absolutely love you. Big Tyron is here.
- 52:58What's up? Big Tyron, good to see you.
- 53:02All right, Metallica's load box set is coming out.
- 53:05You've heard me talk about this already.
- 53:07They dropped a video this week of Kurt Hammett unboxing the
- 53:10whole box set with a very ominous knife stuck in a table.
- 53:14Do you ask that table before you penetrated it, Kurt?
- 53:17I don't know, but the load box set is massive.
- 53:23It's like 300 bucks. I'm not super interested in it.
- 53:25The one of those box sets that I wanted were the early 80s ones.
- 53:29Not too in to load and reload and certainly not Saint Anger as
- 53:34much. Eventually I'm sure we will get
- 53:36box sets for all these Metallica releases.
- 53:40Be nice if they repressed and reprinted some of the Master of
- 53:43Puppets ones. They are going for a lot of
- 53:44money on the secondary market. I cannot afford them.
- 53:49This is super cool. One More Satellite is a band
- 53:51that features British singer Pete Shoulder and Stone Top of
- 53:56Pilots is Dean Dileo and they dropped the new single and they
- 53:59have a new album coming and the fan base of of the fan base of
- 54:05Stone Temple Piles was pissed. This is not Stone Temple Piles
- 54:07music because it sounds like STP, like Dean's guitar style is
- 54:11in there and his like very 70s Zeppelin and Deep Purple
- 54:14influences and stuff. And Pete's a very good singer.
- 54:17He's not Jeff Gutt or Weiland or Chester, but he's a very good
- 54:21singer. So it's a super different
- 54:22flavor. I'm kind of excited about this.
- 54:24I, I know Dean doesn't do a lot of press.
- 54:27He doesn't like the media or social media, but I would really
- 54:30love to talk to him and Pete about this.
- 54:32They're on the bucket list. Was it James?
- 54:35Because he is the table. That is correct.
- 54:37He is the table. Yeah, definitely.
- 54:39You know, drop comments with the bands you like and you want to
- 54:42hear more about or hear me check out.
- 54:44You know, once I stop streaming on TikTok, they're kind of gone
- 54:47and I can't look at the stream replay.
- 54:49So the best place to do this is either DM us, jump on YouTube in
- 54:53the comments, or, you know, Instagram because I could at
- 54:57least rewatch it with the comments.
- 54:59But YouTube the comments are saved, you know, but I
- 55:03appreciate you, Dom You're awesome.
- 55:04You really are. Cattle Decapitation dropped a
- 55:08documentary this week that was really cool.
- 55:10I saw a few minutes of it. I got to sit down and kind of
- 55:13deep dive. This looks like red Rocks in
- 55:14Colorado, but really super cool. Cattle Decap touring all of
- 55:18Europe and America this year. Super, super cool.
- 55:21Big fan. This is like the news right
- 55:24before we went live and I was really shocked by this.
- 55:27This is I love when my screen with my notes doesn't cooperate.
- 55:38I Prevail has parted ways with Co founding singer Brett
- 55:43Burkhiser and I was really surprised about this.
- 55:46They decided to go Brian Burkhiser and decided to part
- 55:49ways to our I Prevail family. Today we have shared that we are
- 55:54mutually parting ways with Brian.
- 55:55This is a difficult decision but we believe it is the right one
- 55:58and we are grateful for the 10 epic years we shared together.
- 56:01We wish Brian nothing but success and happiness in his
- 56:04future endeavors. Moving forward, Eric will
- 56:06continue the powerhouse front man you know and love.
- 56:09He will be backed up live by Dylan who you've seen in this
- 56:12role many times over the years and we performed without Brian.
- 56:14Rest assured, we will continue to live our high energy shows
- 56:17and we made the pillar of our band.
- 56:20So, I mean, you know, yeah. Dusk Waller.
- 56:23I know who that band is, by the way.
- 56:25Yeah, of course. You know, it's interesting.
- 56:28It's really interesting. Oh, the American way.
- 56:30Sacred, right, 35. Dude, I love sacred right so
- 56:32much. Yeah.
- 56:33I'm going to make a post about that later on.
- 56:36Orbit Culture. Huge, awesome band.
- 56:38They got a new single out. They announced a new album.
- 56:40There's a lot of new music coming.
- 56:42Guys, this is the time of the year for the new music.
- 56:44So surprising news from my Prevail Nickel sack.
- 56:50Hey, Nickel sacks on YouTube now that Cattle Decap duck is well
- 56:53worth the two hour watch. Terracite is their latest great
- 56:56album. Yeah, they're so awesome.
- 56:57We have a great interview with with them on our YouTube if you
- 57:01want to check it out. Vince Smith music is here.
- 57:04What's up, Vince? One more for the road.
- 57:07This is Fugitive, which features members of Creeping Death and
- 57:13Power Trip and a bunch of other Fort West Fort Worth bands.
- 57:17They have signed the Blue Great Music that is the record label
- 57:20that has Code Orange and Gasket and a few other bands and they
- 57:24dropped the new single and a little bit of.
- 57:27I don't do a lot of rumors, but I know that Power Trip is
- 57:30talking to record labels and they might actually sign with a
- 57:33new label soon. What was my favorite and 1st
- 57:36concert? You know I was asked this last
- 57:38night on a stream. Also dumb, I think my favorite
- 57:40concert ever is the first time I saw Tool and my that's not
- 57:46that's my favorite. Woodstock 94 would be a close #2
- 57:51there are so many. And then I think my first
- 57:56concert ever, it's hard to judge because my mom took me to a lot
- 57:59of jazz concerts when I was a little, little kid.
- 58:02So I saw like Miles Davis and stuff and Dizzy Gillespie when I
- 58:06and, and Mel Tormé and, you know, Tony Bennett when I was
- 58:10really, really little. First rock, major rock concert I
- 58:15ever saw was Russian Kansas at Madison Square Garden when I was
- 58:1913 on the I'm going to say Presto tour or Roll the Bones.
- 58:25Which one came first? I don't remember right now
- 58:27because I'm old and then I probably saw like some jazz
- 58:31bands or some jazz singers 1st and then I went to a bunch of
- 58:34punk shows and metal. Yep.
- 58:35Power trip on headbands boat. Awesome.
- 58:37I'm hoping to go on that also at some point.
- 58:41In Human condition. That's the band with Jeremy
- 58:43Kling. He has a who is not in Slipknot.
- 58:47One of my favorite things that'll last few years.
- 58:48They dropped the new single. This is the cover of their new
- 58:50artwork for their new album. Super pumped for that.
- 58:55This is Pig pen led by Maddie Matheson.
- 58:57You might know him from the TV show The Bear.
- 58:59He's also a celebrity chef. His hardcore punk band.
- 59:03I checked out the first song and video and it's super fun.
- 59:08We will be calling. Hey, he is here.
- 59:10We'll be covering Louder Than Life as well.
- 59:12Thanks so much for being here. I appreciate everybody on TikTok
- 59:15for commenting and giving arts and gifts and whatever.
- 59:19That's cool. Killswitch Engage has another
- 59:21top ten album with their album This Consequence is out now on
- 59:25Metal Blade. Big Killswitch fan.
- 59:26You know they're doing the run of dates right now with Shadows
- 59:28Fall. More festivals and dates to come
- 59:31from Killswitch Engage. We are almost done with the show
- 59:37people. Helmet dropped a live video in
- 59:40the studio at KEXP that is a radio station that covers both
- 59:45Seattle and San Francisco, where I live.
- 59:48I'm a huge Helmet fan. Everybody knows that.
- 59:50Saw Jeremy manning the drums with Venom Ink a few years ago.
- 59:54Great guy, great guy. He has In Human Condition, which
- 59:57he screams for. So imagine the guy drumming for
- 59:59that band. And he also has a pop punk band
- 1:00:05called 4 FORE like 4G. But I'm a big Helmet fan.
- 1:00:12People know that. I would hope that my band will
- 1:00:14sound a little bit like Helmet when we finally start putting
- 1:00:16out music. Helmet and Prong and Metallica
- 1:00:19and Slayer and things that I love.
- 1:00:20Suicidal. So yeah, man, this is a pretty
- 1:00:24great thing. Helmet is on tour all year long,
- 1:00:26celebrating a the anniversary of Betty, the Betty album, which I
- 1:00:32think is their most popular record.
- 1:00:33Probably. TikTok is trying to get rid of
- 1:00:39me. I'm back, this is Yelawolf and
- 1:00:44the country artist J Michael Phillips.
- 1:00:46They have a new single out right now.
- 1:00:48Yelawolf. New album coming soon.
- 1:00:49Big festival guy. I've never seen Yelawolf solo
- 1:00:52show but really fun in in festival setting for a quick hit
- 1:00:58kind of rap. Little punk, little metal core.
- 1:01:00Super cool guy. I got the pre sale tickets for
- 1:01:03Hamburger's Boat. So you get the photo op of Lamb.
- 1:01:05That's sick. I've met and interviewed a
- 1:01:07couple of members of Lamb of God First show with Sebastian Bach.
- 1:01:12I love Sebastian Bach and Lita Ford and you saw Pantar's fifth
- 1:01:16show. Oh that's cool man.
- 1:01:17That's cool, cool, cool, cool. Here's Born Of Osiris, They
- 1:01:21dropped the new video in a single and they have a new album
- 1:01:23coming out on Sumerian Records. A lot of rumors going around
- 1:01:26that Lee McKinney picture here on the right hand side of the
- 1:01:29photo, the ginger that he is probably quitting Born Of Osiris
- 1:01:32to join Tim Lambisis new band and or a new version of As I Lay
- 1:01:37Dying. I don't know, I don't know all
- 1:01:40the details yet, but that was the hot rumor this week that
- 1:01:42maybe Lee has quit Born Of Osiris.
- 1:01:44It would be a blow if he leaves. Here's Pupil Slicer.
- 1:01:49They've got a new single out and they're playing some European
- 1:01:51festivals and touring. Killer math core band.
- 1:01:54If you like Dillinger, you would love this band, Dillinger
- 1:01:57Compound. I'm sure you know who they are.
- 1:01:59Here's the homies and inside featuring the son of Max
- 1:02:02Cavallera, Richie Cavallera. I'm I love this band and I love
- 1:02:07Richie. He's one of the best dudes out
- 1:02:08there and they have a new single and a new album coming out in
- 1:02:14August on Raining Phoenix Music label.
- 1:02:17Yes, Tim is that guy. Yes, he is.
- 1:02:19We've talked a lot about it. We've interviewed him actually,
- 1:02:22you know, tough, tough, tough, tough, tough times.
- 1:02:26What are you going to do? Just a reminder, you know, we
- 1:02:28did a whole thing last week at the end of the show on some of
- 1:02:30my fun colors and Super 7 toys in my collection.
- 1:02:34Terrifiers getting a Funko finally.
- 1:02:36So I know people are a huge fan of the Terrifier franchise.
- 1:02:40Super cool likeness here. If you still collect these
- 1:02:43things, which of the Cavallera brother kids are they?
- 1:02:46Oh, Insight. Is Richie the oldest?
- 1:02:49I know that Max is kind of in a band now with like all of his
- 1:02:53different bands with all of his sons except Richie.
- 1:02:55But Richie has Insight And if you love Lamb of God, Insight
- 1:02:58sounds a lot like Lamb of God to me.
- 1:03:01Richie is great. Opinions on the Killer's
- 1:03:03Confession personnel leaving mid tour?
- 1:03:06That is a bad one. We talked about it a while back.
- 1:03:08Jake, I think you missed the show.
- 1:03:11You know, the reality is that touring is going to be harder
- 1:03:13and harder. You're going to get more bands
- 1:03:15canceling tours, announcing stuff and then canceling.
- 1:03:19It's really tough. And then of course, not just the
- 1:03:22tariffs and just the fees of getting work visas for US bands
- 1:03:26to go to Europe and European bands to come here.
- 1:03:29The next few years are going to be really, really tough.
- 1:03:33We haven't talked about it recently.
- 1:03:35We talked about it about a month ago where Prague Power that used
- 1:03:38to help bands come over to the US by paying their visa bills,
- 1:03:42can't afford to anymore. So they've asked their fans that
- 1:03:44have already bought tickets to the festival to donate more
- 1:03:47money so the bands can make it a really bad situation.
- 1:03:49It's not their fault, but it's really tough.
- 1:03:53I think we interviewed Waylon from the Killer's confession.
- 1:03:58He's great and a professional guy.
- 1:03:59I think just the realities of touring, people are not
- 1:04:02realistic about how hard it is, about how tough it is to do the
- 1:04:06van. I'm getting old and when my band
- 1:04:09finally starts playing gigs, I am not going to get in a van at
- 1:04:1353 years old almost and tour around the country.
- 1:04:16It will not happen. I doubt it highly.
- 1:04:19Maybe a road trip and a hotel, minimally.
- 1:04:22I don't think I could hold up. You know, I'm just being real,
- 1:04:25just being real. Razor Sakai is here.
- 1:04:28What's up? Razor Sakai?
- 1:04:29Is that the Takai Sakai Fantano? Here we go.
- 1:04:33So Oh my God, Sleep Token, one of the most talked about bands
- 1:04:37out there, drop their new album. Even in Arcadia.
- 1:04:42I like the record. Is it their best record?
- 1:04:44No. Is it a bad record?
- 1:04:45I don't think so. I think Pitchfork Consequences
- 1:04:49Sound Fantano, they're all like, I think he gave it a like to and
- 1:04:53listen like he's in our ad network and I've always
- 1:04:55respected Fantano and he's been working a lot with a friend of
- 1:04:58mine, Ebony Butler, Ebony Butler Medal and coffee on TikTok and
- 1:05:03Instagram and stuff. We used to be right, a writer
- 1:05:04for Ghost Cult and a radio DJ in Philly.
- 1:05:07She's a bad ass. You know, I think it, you know,
- 1:05:12I think some of this stuff is for clicks a light too.
- 1:05:16Like it's not a terrible record. It's just not a great record.
- 1:05:19You know, it's not their best. So I think a lot of people make
- 1:05:23up your own mind about what you like.
- 1:05:26I'm saying that as a person that has a website that reviews a lot
- 1:05:28of albums, but definitely also read reviews and then listen to
- 1:05:32it yourself. When I saw Exodus, they brought
- 1:05:35out the singer of Havoc. Oh yeah, sure.
- 1:05:37I've interviewed David from Havoc.
- 1:05:38He's awesome. War is my shepherd.
- 1:05:40Great song. So yeah, you know, I don't know.
- 1:05:43Do you still read reviews? Everybody watching right now,
- 1:05:45drop a comment and tell me, do you still read reviews of albums
- 1:05:48before you listen or after you listen?
- 1:05:50Like to help make up your mind? I don't know, we are still
- 1:05:53heavily reviewing albums every year.
- 1:05:56We'll at least do 500 this year if not more.
- 1:06:00Just a reminder, the new and improved Reborn and Remastered
- 1:06:05update of Slayer 66 2/3 is out now by R pal DX Ferris.
- 1:06:10I love this dude. I want to interview him for at
- 1:06:12least both my podcasts. I have an earlier version of
- 1:06:15this book. I'm going to get the new version
- 1:06:17of this book. I love Slayer.
- 1:06:19Slayer. Yeah, I got you, man.
- 1:06:23I got you. Answers of Aries, which features
- 1:06:27former members of Iced Earth, has been announcing some shows
- 1:06:30and now they've announced a brand new album.
- 1:06:32Still remains to be seen if Tim Barlow, who is the
- 1:06:35brother-in-law of John Shaffer, will go back to Iced Earth.
- 1:06:38That's the rumor. I love this little meme.
- 1:06:41This has been going around. Why CD still matter?
- 1:06:44Streaming is easy, but is it worth it?
- 1:06:45I love this. You could say the same thing for
- 1:06:47vinyl. I do love, you know, it's kind
- 1:06:51of funny, like, go listen to one physical record a week that's
- 1:06:54not on Spotify and not on YouTube or not on all these
- 1:06:58things. You know, just a thought.
- 1:06:59Just a thought, everybody. That means we're almost done
- 1:07:04with the show, everybody. I appreciate everybody for
- 1:07:06watching. Time to talk about new music
- 1:07:09Friday. Here are the new albums coming
- 1:07:11out this week you need to pick up.
- 1:07:14We try to make it as comprehensive as possible and do
- 1:07:18our best. So I'm gonna read this off the
- 1:07:20screen and then you'll see my face again.
- 1:07:22Sorry, I've been off the screen for quite a while.
- 1:07:25Album's coming out this week. We're gonna do band, album,
- 1:07:28label and style and genre. OK so that'll help you after
- 1:07:34taste hungry for life self released gothic dune

- 1:09:51album self released. I talked earlier in the show
- 1:09:54about Mares of Thrace. If you love Stoner doom and
- 1:09:57sludge. Mares of Thrace, which comes
- 1:10:01from Greek mythology. The Loss, which is an album
- 1:10:04based on the five stages of grief.
- 1:10:06Unbelievable. One of the best records this
- 1:10:09year so far. That's on Artifact Records.
- 1:10:12No Raza. The hardcore band.
- 1:10:13Tyrona on Noble Demon Records for some Colombian hardcore
- 1:10:17death metal novelist. Coda on the Accor label for some
- 1:10:21alt metal. Envage self-titled self released

- 1:11:43to talk about the forthcoming Dead Guy Records.
- 1:11:45I am trying to interview that guy.
- 1:11:47I love that guy. I'm so pumped for this dead guy
- 1:11:51reunion. You have no idea.
- 1:11:52Hey I'm back after like almost an hour off screen.
- 1:11:55Hey everybody listen Rileya celestial manufacturers, a black
- 1:12:03metal friend of mine and his TikTok lives are so fun.
- 1:12:05I will look that up. I will look that up.
- 1:12:08I'm going to make a note. I love any anything usually
- 1:12:11Lovecraftian. So that is all the new music
- 1:12:14Friday, which leaves the last part of the show, the mailbag.
- 1:12:17And so you know, again, we talked about fun codes a little
- 1:12:20earlier last week in the mailbag.
- 1:12:22I talked about my fun codes and toys.
- 1:12:23I want to talk a little bit more about comic books.
- 1:12:27Record Store Day and Comic Book Day kind of are are having some
- 1:12:31weird parallels for me where I think they're starting to kind
- 1:12:34of diminish in people's hearts, which is OK because it's a
- 1:12:38consumerist world and these are tough times economically for
- 1:12:41people. Listen, if you're watching this
- 1:12:42show you love nobody's just like I like metal ones.
- 1:12:45Nobody is like I'm casual rock fan.
- 1:12:48You love rock, you love metal with all your heart and soul,
- 1:12:51every fiber of your being. So just to keep it real, real,
- 1:12:55real, I went, I missed comic book day the day of, but I went
- 1:13:01to my comic book shop and I, I bought some stuff and I checked
- 1:13:04in with them and I bought some jeans and I bought a book and I
- 1:13:07bought some boards and some bags.
- 1:13:08And I said, how'd you guys do for comic book day?
- 1:13:11And he was like kind of bad. And I'm worried about like the
- 1:13:14future of this thing. And I was like, that sucks.
- 1:13:15I'm so sorry to hear that. So they had a table still with a
- 1:13:21lot of leftover free books. Go to your local comic shop,
- 1:13:24find a new title to get into. It's not everything needs to be
- 1:13:27Marvel or DC. Man, there's so many wonderful
- 1:13:30innovative independent creators and Zine makers ghost called
- 1:13:34starters a digital Zine. Like I still care about the
- 1:13:37printed material. We obviously look man, I got AI
- 1:13:39got a fun coat of me made for me by friends of mine.
- 1:13:42Look at this look at the resemblance.
- 1:13:43It's me. He's even got a beer can and a
- 1:13:45microphone. It's totally me.
- 1:13:47There's a baseball hat here somewhere, like a trucker hat.
- 1:13:50I think it's like fell over. But yeah, I think I have it
- 1:13:54here. So like, look at this man.
- 1:13:56Like, you know, we love these things.
- 1:13:57Look at this guy, man. It's me.
- 1:13:58It's like, it's me. It's literally me.
- 1:14:01But anyway, I wanted to share some books with you guys.
- 1:14:05So I've been talking about books.
- 1:14:06I've been talking about the The Ghost comic book a lot lately.
- 1:14:09So I have issue 2. It is sold out almost
- 1:14:12everywhere. I got one off of eBay.
- 1:14:13I had to fight a little kid for it.
- 1:14:15Here's issue 2 of Sister Imperida.
- 1:14:17Issue 3 is out this week. It's going to sell out.
- 1:14:20Definitely make sure you get it. Let's just take a quick flip
- 1:14:23through the book. I'll oh this is my copy to read.
- 1:14:27I might take this with me on my trip out of town, but I don't
- 1:14:29like to transport my books out. Record store day in southern
- 1:14:34Indiana. That's great.
- 1:14:35That's awesome, Dom. I'm really like super stoked to
- 1:14:38hear that, Dom. I feel like we would be friends
- 1:14:42if we lived near each other. So here's the beautiful.
- 1:14:43This is dark Horse comics, great comic book imprint that covers
- 1:14:49up an ad for another title, Ripper Land.
- 1:14:52Hopefully you can see that. And let's just, you know, oh,
- 1:14:55it's got the new comic book smell, you know, beautifully
- 1:14:59made book. I think Tobias Forge
- 1:15:02collaborated on this story, which is pretty cool.
- 1:15:05I know they killed off Sister Imperator if you're following
- 1:15:08the ghost sort of story narratives on YouTube, but this
- 1:15:11is beautiful. Man, I'm so excited.
- 1:15:13I read issue 1 and then I bagged it right up and I'm not going to
- 1:15:16open it again. I'm hoping I can land.
- 1:15:19I think I I pre-ordered issue 3 and 4 from a comic shop that I
- 1:15:24like just to make sure that I got it right.
- 1:15:26And I want to make sure I don't get tape on my book.
- 1:15:29Is that what's up? And then I just want to talk
- 1:15:32about some titles that I got shipped to me and also a bunch I
- 1:15:35picked up for no spoilers, Michael, no spoilers.
- 1:15:39And so here's just a few things that I got for comic book store
- 1:15:42today. And I think there's some child
- 1:15:44titles that I'm going to donate to kids in my building.
- 1:15:46I'm just going to leave a pile for them.
- 1:15:48Jimmy Olsen's Super Cyclopedia. This is a Superman book.
- 1:15:53Amazing Spider Man Ultimate Universe.
- 1:15:55This is really cool. These are all free.
- 1:15:57The the mighty 9 origins also from dark horse comics.
- 1:16:03Marvel voices featuring the all new iron heart hearing mixed
- 1:16:07things about the iron heart series that looks like storm in
- 1:16:09the background. Speed Racer from Mad cave.
- 1:16:14That's cool. Fantastic Four number one, this
- 1:16:18is a marvel. This might be this is this is a
- 1:16:21previews book. I think of all the marvel
- 1:16:23previews coming out rest of the year.
- 1:16:25Maybe Godzilla the new heroes. Big fan of the recent Godzilla
- 1:16:30movies. New the Empire movie I didn't
- 1:16:32love that much. Energon universe from image
- 1:16:37comics. Another brand.
- 1:16:38I love Hulk teach this is a kids book for Hulk that's fun.
- 1:16:43Here's a more kids books. Superman's good guy gang.
- 1:16:47Iron Man's awesome friends. Another Kitty free comic book
- 1:16:50day title. The Phantom.
- 1:16:51I was dying to get this. I love the Phantom yo.
- 1:16:55Affleck you was the bomb in Phantom yo.
- 1:16:59That's not the same thing. That's Billy Zane the phantom as
- 1:17:01opposed to Ben Affleck in Phantoms Within Us.
- 1:17:03Young Jedi Adventures, another kids book and Kareem Abdul
- 1:17:06Jabbar Champion, a graphic novel memoir sorts of his life story.
- 1:17:12But you know, not a Lakers fan but love Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
- 1:17:16Dark Horse did the Evil Dead comics.
- 1:17:17They did. They did and that is all she
- 1:17:21wrote. There's the Ghost comic again
- 1:17:24from last week, and that is our show again with the cutie Pie me
- 1:17:27in a very reasonable hour and 18 minutes.
- 1:17:30Once again, you could spend an hour of your time anywhere on
- 1:17:33the web. All our competitors do something
- 1:17:36similar. They don't always do what I do,
- 1:17:38but thanks for being here. If you're new here, keep it
- 1:17:43real, like and subscribe. Help us out, drop us some money.
- 1:17:48We put it right back into the company.
- 1:17:50We got a whole week of bang. Their stuff coming up next week.
- 1:17:52Interviews, reviews, concert coverage, festival coverage,
- 1:17:57coming in hot from all over the world.
- 1:17:59Thanks for keeping it here with me.
- 1:18:00I'm Kefiya Ghost cultman.com, as I do every week at this juncture
- 1:18:05of the show. It's a tough time in the world.
- 1:18:08So please take care of yourselves, take care of each
- 1:18:10other and stay as metal as humanly possible.
- 1:18:13And I'm going to dance a jig on the way out because that's what
- 1:18:15I like to do. Y'all have a great weekend and
- 1:18:17be safe. Thanks King Snake, thanks
- 1:18:19everybody for being here. All the real ones.
- 1:18:21Let's rock peace.
