- 0:01Speaker 1: Hello there and welcome to empower your soul.
- 0:03Speaker 1: I am so excited about today's podcast episode today because I have actually been thinking about this for a few years now in the mediumship space and I I personally apologize in advance because I am probably going to screw up some of these terms today and I just ask for your forgiveness in advance, because I'm going to talk about what does mediumship look like when it's not in our social boxes?
- 0:31Speaker 1: And when I say that, I have been really thinking about how it was closeted before, right, but how do LGBTQA individuals look in the mediumship world, right?
- 0:47Speaker 1: How do transgender people look in the spiritual world, right?
- 0:55Speaker 1: Like, what does that look like in a mediumship reading?
- 0:58Speaker 1: How about individuals with, like, mental disorders or nonverbal people?
- 1:03Speaker 1: What do those look like in the mediumship world?
- 1:04Speaker 1: Because I don't think anyone talks about this and I just I love this so much, I love this topic so much.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Don't mind me, I'm just writing a note for a second, because everything that is taught if you could see my face, it's over on YouTube.
- 1:23Speaker 1: I'm just like dragging my hands down my face because it is such a complex topic, because we are reading dead people and a lot of checklist.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Mediumship comes from the spiritualist church and it comes from putting people in boxes very easily to distinguish boxes that make it much easier to read, that make it much easier to read.
- 1:48Speaker 1: And this is why I struggle or mediums in general struggle a lot with with non traditional relationships, non traditional readings.
- 1:53Speaker 1: And like, this is going to be such an interesting episode for me to record Because since day one I have been thinking about what a transgendered spirits look like.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Well, like, how do they come through?
- 2:04Speaker 1: How do they present?
- 2:05Speaker 1: How do nonverbal kids that pass very young present?
- 2:09Speaker 1: Like, how do babies come in?
- 2:11Speaker 1: Right?
- 2:11Speaker 1: So it's just to me it's so interesting because a lot of what we're taught and a lot of what people end up pulling through for spirits tends to be the more traditional souls.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Right, and to the point where, like, if scroll through TikTok or if you go on any lives, like, you're gonna see everybody pulls through.
- 2:28Speaker 1: I'm going to say, quote unquote traditional souls.
- 2:30Speaker 1: They're going to pull through men that identify as men, women that identify as women, people who are married to significant others of the opposite sex, right, like so.
- 2:39Speaker 1: And again, this is the bias of a lot of mediums, because it's so hard to talk to dead people already, never mind pull in unique, dead people who don't fit our normal box.
- 2:54Speaker 1: That mediumship goes in, that society goes in, and I say this all without judgment.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Again, I have 100% love for every single soul that crosses my path, even the assholes.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I love them, but I will still call them assholes.
- 3:07Speaker 1: But what does it look like when you get a transgendered person?
- 3:10Speaker 1: And I have thought about this over and over and over again, like I could probably go back in my early notebooks from the beginning of mediumship and been like what is this?
- 3:20Speaker 1: Because this is where this is where my jam is.
- 3:22Speaker 1: I want to expand, like.
- 3:24Speaker 1: I feel like I'm in a web and I just want to like, expand this web out so that more and more people can connect to souls.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Right, because right now, even though this is certainly not the first time in history we've had transgendered individuals, it's going to be, it's, you know, the first time in history where it's, I'm going to say, publicized or starting to get more socially acceptable, right the same with LGBTQ right, like, or the rest of the rest of the, the rest of the letters in there, because they've always existed, right, but, but it hasn't been as socially acceptable.
- 4:04Speaker 1: So I think what's so interesting is how these souls would come through.
- 4:10Speaker 1: I'm going to just like I'm going to put some assumptions in place.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I think that how most of these souls would come through before would be how they identified so, and I'll talk about that in a second.
- 4:19Speaker 1: But I think what's interesting now is that these spirits are kind of coming out of the spiritual closet too, right, they're coming out of the closet on the other side too and they're making a lot of these things I'm going to say are trying to help me see the transparency and kind of who they were as souls, and I don't know if this is respectful.
- 4:36Speaker 1: I don't know if this is disrespectful.
- 4:38Speaker 1: To be honest, it's all entirely new to me.
- 4:39Speaker 1: So, but I love, I love exploring this unique space.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I and I'm like I'm literally calling forth the spirits for future readings.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Can you give me the different ones, as long as they're obviously what my client needs, because in my practice sessions spirit spirits qualifying in my head can you bring forward the different ones in spirit in my practice session so that I can see and experience how these unique souls come in?
- 5:05Speaker 1: So let's go, let's start with pets and babies really quick, just to give you a baseline because it's all energy.
- 5:13Speaker 1: So even souls, I'm going to say that are not born so they died in utero one way or another.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Again, no judgment, for me they come through just like every other soul.
- 5:27Speaker 1: So, like how somebody passes or at what age somebody passes, it really doesn't matter.
- 5:31Speaker 1: The only thing that's different is the evidence, information that I'll pull through.
- 5:35Speaker 1: So if I have a baby that comes through that was not born yet, I can talk about how the pregnancy was, I can talk about what the nursery might might have looked like if they set one of those up right, so like so they.
- 5:47Speaker 1: I'm kind of limited in evidence on what the spirit will bring through, but the spirit still communicates the same exact way as every other spirit that comes through.
- 5:54Speaker 1: And it's the same with pets.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Again, pets come through through all the Claire's, just like all the spirits come through with all the Claire's, so that so they'll show me things.
- 6:03Speaker 1: They'll taste, smell, hear, feel.
- 6:06Speaker 1: You know, I'll just, I'll get a lot of the information, but the evidence will be specific to pets, it'll be specific to the dog, it'll be specific to the bird, the cat, right, this is what they like to eat.
- 6:16Speaker 1: This is their personality.
- 6:17Speaker 1: They really hated this person.
- 6:19Speaker 1: This is how they died this.
- 6:21Speaker 1: They had arthritis they had.
- 6:23Speaker 1: They couldn't see, they couldn't hear right, they had.
- 6:25Speaker 1: So they'll still give me evidence, but again it's going to be just different evidence based on the type of soul that's coming through.
- 6:33Speaker 1: So again, souls, don't, it doesn't matter, souls are souls and they're still going to communicate to me the same way.
- 6:39Speaker 1: The only thing that varies is the evidence.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And I don't know why I want to start there, but but I have spirits having me start there.
- 6:44Speaker 1: So when we talk about, I'm going to say first I want to talk about maybe severely mentally, um, I I'm hesitating because I don't want to use the word disabled, because I don't think it's the right word but people who maybe are nonverbal or maybe who are Down syndrome or some other mental illness.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Again, no judgment.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Again it's going to be the wrong words.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I'm so sorry, everybody, I got to look up the right words to use this.
- 7:11Speaker 1: But these souls will come through, the same exact way.
- 7:14Speaker 1: They will come through, talking to me, they will give me life experiences, they will talk about their passings, they will talk about their deaths, they will talk about things that were important to them, right, what were they infatuated with.
- 7:27Speaker 1: What did they enjoy?
- 7:27Speaker 1: What was life like for them?
- 7:30Speaker 1: They'll talk about their room, they'll talk about their mom, they'll talk about their relationships with people.
- 7:34Speaker 1: So I think a lot of people are very, a lot of times.
- 7:40Speaker 1: What's so interesting is when these souls step forward.
- 7:42Speaker 1: I can't tell at all that they had any sort of disability in this lifetime.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Not at all, because they come through like every other soul, every other spirit, and they will give evidence, like everything else.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Like I'll say you know, this man was in his mid thirties, um, he died very suddenly.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I can see that he was in a wheelchair and I'll go through the evidence, just like this.
- 8:03Speaker 1: And and they'll, they'll be like the person who I'm reading for my client will inevitably have this look on their face, like how are they communicating with you?
- 8:12Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh no, no, they're fine.
- 8:13Speaker 1: On the other face, like, how are they communicating with you?
- 8:15Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh no, no, they're fine.
- 8:15Speaker 1: On the other, what do you mean?
- 8:16Speaker 1: What do you mean?
- 8:17Speaker 1: How do they?
- 8:17Speaker 1: So?
- 8:17Speaker 1: I never actually know that these souls had any sort of disability in this lifetime, because they don't present that information to me.
- 8:23Speaker 1: They show me their physical issue, their physical things, but a lot of them don't talk about their disability and I and that's making me go, hmm, I wonder why.
- 8:31Speaker 1: And to them it's not important.
- 8:35Speaker 1: To them is what I'm hearing my team say is because it's not important.
- 8:38Speaker 1: That might be a very important piece of evidence, but that's not the us.
- 8:43Speaker 1: As external people looking at these souls, I think that would be the first thing that we'd pull through, right, like oh, this person was nonverbal and that might come up a little bit in the reading.
- 8:55Speaker 1: They might show me the way, that little bit of spirit of mediumship inside.
- 8:59Speaker 1: A lot of times, when people won't talk, they'll show me, you know, hocus pocus, how he's got.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Like the zippered mouth.
- 9:04Speaker 1: The zombie there has that zippered mouth.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Like that's what they show me is that zippered mouth.
- 9:10Speaker 1: So it means to me it's like they didn't talk or they didn't talk a lot.
- 9:12Speaker 1: So I might casually mention that, but for me that's one piece of evidence out of a lot of evidence that I'll pull through.
- 9:19Speaker 1: So I might be like, hey, they didn't talk much, and the mom might be like, yeah, and then I'll move on to everything else.
- 9:25Speaker 1: But then they'll give me this look like how are they talking to you Like, how are they doing that?
- 9:32Speaker 1: Because they can't comprehend.
- 9:34Speaker 1: So I guess, even though there might be these physical disabilities or mental disabilities here in the physical world, none of that exists in the spirit world.
- 9:43Speaker 1: So I can't tell the difference.
- 9:44Speaker 1: I can't tell the difference.
- 9:45Speaker 1: So I think that was one of the most interesting ways and I think I started one of my early one of my, one of my very early readings I'm trying to like quantify it and I would say it's within the first year of me starting mediumship.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I pulled through several spirits that were kind of like this, that had that either were nonverbal, were cerebral palsy, palsy, etc.
- 10:14Speaker 1: I'm just gonna say etc because I can't think of all of the correct terms or afflictions God I'm a horrible person that they had, but I couldn't tell the difference.
- 10:25Speaker 1: So, and to be honest, I don't get a lot of clients that I'm aware of that have these disabilities, but I think they've been immensely healing for the clients who have come through and did those readings, which I think is really cool.
- 10:38Speaker 1: I think it's great for them to really receive closure.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Oh, one really stands out and I can't remember who it was.
- 10:43Speaker 1: One really stands out because I read some younger male for this woman, and when I told her he's fine on the other side, she was like I knew it, I knew it, I knew it, I knew he was fine, I knew he was fine.
- 11:01Speaker 1: And it was so immensely validating for her to know that he was fine on the other side and that that was a physical limitation here in the spirit, in the physical world.
- 11:14Speaker 1: But when he moved into the spirit world he didn't take that with him, so it was immensely healing.
- 11:17Speaker 1: So, in case you're wondering how differently abled that's the word I want to use differently abled people come through in readings.
- 11:25Speaker 1: They come through just like every other spirit, and often I cannot tell as the medium that they are differently abled, and I'm going to challenge them to start showing me that now.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Can you show me when you're differently abled so I can call that out um, pretty cool, huh, isn't that really cool?
- 11:41Speaker 1: And so as we move forward, though, into, I'm gonna say, more of the transgender, lgbtqa, qia, all all those words, all those letters, these have been the funniest fucking readings I've ever had, and when I listen to myself and the evidence I pull through from these readings, I die laughing.
- 12:03Speaker 1: So I want you to know that they have fun with this.
- 12:06Speaker 1: I think all the spirits do have fun with this, but in terms of this topic, they crack me up, me up.
- 12:14Speaker 1: So the first one I ever did and I think I posted this video somewhere at some point, but at the end of a demonstration I did locally the last spirit I pulled through.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I actually pulled through three together in one, so it was a threefer.
- 12:33Speaker 1: It was a grandmother, an aunt and a brother, and when I pulled all three of these through, I ended up reading the personality of all three of these and I read this whole thing with all three of these spirits for this one woman and it was an amazing reading.
- 12:47Speaker 1: She was dying, laughing the whole time, and I'm like it's really.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I'm like I'm like these I mean it's definitely three clowns coming together and having a really fun time with this, because they were all such very different personalities and they were bouncing the personalities off each other the way that spirits do, in a way that's like really fun and entertaining, but at the same time, this aunt comes through and she's extravagant and like she's fun, she's, she's larger than life.
- 13:12Speaker 1: I'm describing her and I'm like she's really stubborn and I'm going through and she's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:17Speaker 1: And then she gets to the end Everyone leaves, she works at the store, everyone leaves, and she's like that's actually my uncle that turned into my aunt.
- 13:28Speaker 1: And I just died laughing Because, again, I didn't know how these, how transgendered individuals, would come through.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I had no idea.
- 13:41Speaker 1: And what and here's the line, here's the story they come through as their, as, what they identify as.
- 13:46Speaker 1: So this aunt came through as an aunt, with all of this amazing freaking evidence, personality, everything.
- 13:53Speaker 1: And it was amazing because I had no idea, I just saw this as an aunt and she's like nope, that was, that was my uncle slash aunt who transitioned later in life.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Right, so it's like, oh, that's like in my mind, I'm like that's so cool, that's so cool, this is the weird version of me that you all know.
- 14:14Speaker 1: Now I'm like, oh, it's so rad, that's so rad.
- 14:17Speaker 1: So that was one really fun story.
- 14:20Speaker 1: So they'll come through.
- 14:21Speaker 1: So transgendered individuals will come through as what you know how they associate, which makes sense, duh, right, like just me wanting to know everything and question everything.
- 14:30Speaker 1: But makes sense that they would come through as what they identify as.
- 14:33Speaker 1: And then, more recently, oh, yeah, so more recently.
- 14:37Speaker 1: Hi, my dear.
- 14:38Speaker 1: She's popping in my head right now as I'm talking about her.
- 14:40Speaker 1: She's this was at the most recent demonstration I did at a crystal mine.
- 14:44Speaker 1: I pulled through this mom and I'm laughing about this.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I'm like in my head right now.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I'm laughing about this story because it is so fucking funny to me.
- 14:55Speaker 1: I'm laughing.
- 14:57Speaker 1: So I pulled through this mom.
- 14:58Speaker 1: I talk about how she's like this badass, she's this nurse, she's a teacher, she's.
- 15:03Speaker 1: She's like she'll tell doctors when they're wrong.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Like the personality of this woman.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I just I immediately love and identify with her because she's just like no bullshit, does not back down, does what she thinks is right and we'll go toe to toe with the doctors and a lot of the other nurses were very jealous of her because she went toe to toe to the doctors and she was right every single time and the doctors knew it.
- 15:25Speaker 1: So she gained this extremely incredible reputation.
- 15:30Speaker 1: And when I'm talking about this, she's making me, she's almost showing me like bar scenes where she's like taking a ring and throwing it away.
- 15:38Speaker 1: Like this is what it looks like in my head Like she's just like she's this bad, she doesn't like men, men can't even come up to her in bars is what it feels like to me.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Like, like no men can.
- 15:47Speaker 1: And I believe I said several times no men could hold her down, no men could tie her down, like no men could keep her.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Does that make sense to you?
- 15:55Speaker 1: And the daughter is laughing.
- 15:57Speaker 1: She's like oh yeah, I can take it.
- 15:59Speaker 1: And I probably said this three times in the reading and she kept making me bring it back up again, over and over and over again, and at the very end I found out not only was the daughter in the audience, who this reading was for, but also her spouse.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Her wife was also in the audience.
- 16:17Speaker 1: So she was, she's a lesbian, this woman that I pulled through in spirit.
- 16:21Speaker 1: But she must have made me say no man can hold her down.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Three times in this reading, three separate times in this reading.
- 16:28Speaker 1: And when I look back at it I just fucking laugh because I'm like, of course, she said everything but the word lesbian, everything but.
- 16:36Speaker 1: But it was the funniest fucking like.
- 16:39Speaker 1: It was amazing.
- 16:41Speaker 1: It was just my dumb ass self not putting two and two together, but she gave me all the evidence I needed to say like lesbian, right.
- 16:47Speaker 1: And she talked about rainbows and I'm like, of course, like, why couldn't this?
- 16:51Speaker 1: So this is again my bias, where I don't I don't necessarily ask the sexuality, sexual preferences of the spirits that are coming through, right, like I don't know this.
- 17:01Speaker 1: But she tried real hard to get that message through and I really, really appreciated it.
- 17:07Speaker 1: So yeah, so that's very interestingly how a lot of these souls will come through, like I have no idea.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I have no idea but it doesn't really matter anyway.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Let's be honest, it really doesn't matter because I'm just trying to make soul to soul connections and regardless of the relationship, the preferences, it doesn't matter.
- 17:29Speaker 1: But I always just like I like to play.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I'm a weird person with social norms and pushing outside social norms, like Jennifer Finney Boylan, if you know her, she's a transgender individual who came to my college business school and did a presentation there and like, don't come to a business school if you're no offense, not your best audience.
- 17:55Speaker 1: I mean wonderful to get the message out.
- 17:57Speaker 1: I'm so glad my humanities teacher told me about it so that I could go and listen to her, because she was fabulous and I read her book and it was amazing.
- 18:04Speaker 1: But it was just tough crowd, small crowd at the time because this was early 2000s.
- 18:14Speaker 1: So I've always loved and supported, I'm going to say people of all walks in life, but it's just really cool to be able to pull them through in spirit as well and continue to celebrate their uniqueness.
- 18:25Speaker 1: On the other side, I love this work.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Isn't this work so fucking cool?
- 18:31Speaker 1: Isn't it so fucking cool?
- 18:32Speaker 1: Like it's the?
- 18:33Speaker 1: It's the coolest shit.
- 18:34Speaker 1: And again, it shouldn't matter, but I love being able to bring through whatever memories I can to let people know that their loved ones are still with them in spirit.
- 18:42Speaker 1: So, yeah, so that's my story today.
- 18:46Speaker 1: I will continue to ask spirit to deliver amazing, unique souls to me and help me get better and better at identifying the evidence that makes them unique.
- 18:58Speaker 1: I'm going to say it that way, but know that, okay, so an empowerment.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I was like I know I was gonna say something else, which is why I'm stalling a little bit and going in a circle.
- 19:08Speaker 1: So the thing that I want you to walk away with, as people listening to this, is that number one mediums don't get all the information.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I don't get that.
- 19:16Speaker 1: This woman's a lesbian.
- 19:17Speaker 1: I get everything but, but my brain has to put two and two together, right, and sometimes my brain can't do that.
- 19:23Speaker 1: I'm not thinking about lesbians.
- 19:25Speaker 1: I'm thinking about what's the personality of this person I'm coming through?
- 19:28Speaker 1: Am I getting the evidence right?
- 19:29Speaker 1: Am I getting the messages right?
- 19:31Speaker 1: So, like I'm like, if you're looking for that one thing, they can give me everything else, and I still can't connect the dots because it's my brain getting in the way.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Okay, so number two know that your loved ones are going to come through, no matter what.
- 19:43Speaker 1: Again, so trust the information you receive, even if it's not what you expect, but I guess I guess.
- 19:48Speaker 1: Number three I want to make sure you walk away with is you need to know that mediums it's so hard, right, and this is the perfect evidence of the bias that mediums have, because I don't know when somebody is differently abled, I don't know when someone is LGBTQA, right, I have no idea and I'm not going to pull through specific spirits for that, but, but what you need to do is still request those individuals.
- 20:19Speaker 1: You don't need to give the story about the background of this person, but this is why it's so important, for if you're going to a medium and you want to hear from a specific person, you need to like name the person or you need to like give the relationship of the person, so that the medium knows who, who you're trying to connect to.
- 20:37Speaker 1: And I'm working really, really hard to pull through who you want to pull through without having to name them, and I'm trying really hard on that.
- 20:45Speaker 1: It's it's a skill that is very tough to do, I'm going to say because who the medium tends to pull forward are the souls that are most aligned with their vibrations, who are the souls that they're most familiar with.
- 20:59Speaker 1: Like I can tell you I have two pain in the ass grandmothers and very loud matriarchy, family on all sides.
- 21:09Speaker 1: So you bet your ass I'm really good at pulling loud, asshole women through who are spunky as hell, like I.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Those are my jam.
- 21:18Speaker 1: I can do those all day, every day, and get everything right, because I'm so familiar with that energy, those vibrations, those, those individuals, those souls.
- 21:25Speaker 1: I'm like I can pull out all the detail about them, no problem, but I I am less good at pulling out evidence of quiet men, for example, right, like you know what I mean.
- 21:37Speaker 1: So this is why it's so important to ask for the people that you want to hear from, because it might not be the person that's easiest for the medium to pull through.
- 21:46Speaker 1: And when I say that I'm going to like put an asterisk around it, because if you're asking for someone that's going to say a little bit outside of the mediums normal typical box, let them pull in who's easiest first, because that gets the vibration and the energy going and that improves the connection overall for the for the session with the medium.
- 22:06Speaker 1: So let them bring through somebody first and then ask them to bring in, I'm going to say, the little someone that might be a little more difficult for them to pull through, because then they're already in that really good vibration, that really good energy with spirit.
- 22:19Speaker 1: So it's a lot easier to bring them in at that point.
- 22:21Speaker 1: I hope that makes sense.
- 22:23Speaker 1: That's not true with every medium but, um, in my experience I've seen mediums have to work that way.
- 22:29Speaker 1: So and I know you're not all coming to me all the time and that's totally cool, I get it, but you should be Sorry, I had to say it, I had to say it.
- 22:39Speaker 1: So it's always good to make sure you're asking for the people that you want to hear from, just because the mediums are biased, whether they want to be or not, and that's just the reality of this gig.
- 22:47Speaker 1: But I hope you enjoyed that today.
