- Lucas: Velkommen tilbage to Learn Danish with Fexingo, episode 181. Luna: Hey Lucas, I’m ready to learn something new. What’s today’s topic? Lucas: Today we’re going to the doctor. Well, not literally – we’re learning body parts in Danish. Luna: Oh, that’s useful. I had to describe where it hurts once, and I just pointed. Lucas: Exactly, and after today you can say it. Let’s start with the head: mit hoved. Luna: Mit hoved. Lucas: Great. Mit hoved means 'my head.' Try again. Luna: Mit hoved. Lucas: Perfect. Next, arm: min arm. Luna: Min arm. Lucas: Yes. Notice it's 'min' for common gender words like arm. For neuter words like hoved, it's 'mit.' So, leg is mit ben. Luna: Mit ben. Lucas: Good. And stomach: min mave. Luna: Min mave. Lucas: Excellent. Now let’s put them in a sentence: Jeg har ondt i mit hoved. That means 'I have a headache' or literally 'I have pain in my head.' Luna: Jeg har ondt i mit hoved. Lucas: Sounds good. Now try: Jeg har ondt i min arm. Luna: Jeg har ondt i min arm. Lucas: You’ve got it. And: Jeg har ondt i mit ben. Luna: Jeg har ondt i mit ben. Lucas: And finally: Jeg har ondt i min mave. Luna: Jeg har ondt i min mave. That’s good for when you eat too much cake. Lucas: Oh, definitely. Let’s imagine you’re at the doctor. The doctor asks: Hvad er der galt? What’s wrong? You can say: Jeg har ondt i mit hoved. Luna: Jeg har ondt i mit hoved. Lucas: Perfect. And the doctor might say: Okay, lad mig se. Let me see. Now you try with arm. Luna: Jeg har ondt i min arm. Lucas: Exactly. Let’s do a quick review. What’s 'my head'? Luna: Mit hoved. Lucas: My arm? Luna: Min arm. Lucas: My leg? Luna: Mit ben. Lucas: My stomach? Luna: Min mave. Lucas: Great. Now, before we wrap up, I want to mention something. You know, Fexingo keeps these episodes ad-free, and that’s something we’re proud of. If you find these lessons helpful, you can support that choice at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. It’s a small way to keep the show going. Luna: Yeah, I think that’s awesome. This show has really helped my Danish, so I’m happy to support. But let’s practice once more – how do I say I have a headache? Lucas: Jeg har ondt i mit hoved. Luna: Jeg har ondt i mit hoved. And if I hurt my arm? Lucas: Jeg har ondt i min arm. Luna: Jeg har ondt i min arm. Okay, I think I’ve got it. Lucas: You did great. Remember to practice these phrases. Vi ses næste gang. Luna: Vi ses, Lucas!
