- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Hey friend welcome back to Bible track decos.
- 0:02[SPEAKER_01]: I'm Mike McCurrier host.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for tuning in to the radio broadcast once again.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_01]: We are in song one.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_01]: Would you grab your bottles and go there?
- 0:11[SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna read it here in just a moment.
- 0:14[SPEAKER_01]: All this week and last week.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_01]: We've been delving into soul.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_01]: One, and I've actually been sharing a message of group of messages about three messages that I preached at my home church not long ago.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: When I pray it's a blessing to you.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_01]: So I want to get to that in just a moment.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_01]: But I want to ask this question is the Bible.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: The most important book ever written.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_01]: Well, look at what Psalm one has to say, and we're going to really look at verse two in just a moment here, but Psalm one, verse one, bless it is the man that walk it not in the counsel of the ungodly.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_01]: Nor stand it in the way of sinners, nor sit it in the seat of the scornful, but his delight is in the law of the Lord.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: And in his law, death he meditate day and night.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_01]: We'll come back to that just a moment.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: Let's read the rest of it verse three.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that bring forth his fruit in his season.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_01]: His leaf also shall not weather.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_01]: And whatsoever he do it shall prosper.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: the ungodly or not so, but are like a chef which the wind drive at the way, therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment or sinners in a congregation of the righteous, for the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish."
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: Now, this is going to be what you're going to hear in just a moment.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: Here is going to be kind of the end of the sinking message that I spoke on in this Psalm series.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: But we're going to discuss and dissect that thought is the Bible, the most important book ever written verse two of Psalm one, but his delight, the happy man's delight is in the law of the Lord.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: And in his law, God's law, death he meditate day and night.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_01]: You mull over that while you listen.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: I sound a little bit like I got a frog in my throat when what you're going to hear in just a moment here.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_01]: My voice was struggling just a little bit.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_01]: So bear with me.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: But listen to this message.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: I preach not long ago.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_01]: I pray it's a blessing to you.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_01]: His leaf also shall not wither.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: You think about it.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_01]: If you give a tree enough time, it will crack concrete.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: But we want the roadblock move now, don't we?
- 2:36[SPEAKER_01]: The durability comes when you delight, when you meditate when you desire.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: Next, the Bible says, and whatsoever he do with shall prosper.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: This is not speaking about necessarily worldly riches.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_01]: You think of Ezra, he didn't seek blessings.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_01]: He sought the book and the blessings followed.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_01]: As I mentioned, the preference of the leader, the prosperity from the Lord all came about because of his proficiency and preparation with the law of God.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: Psalm one, twenty-eight verse one, would you turn there with me for just a moment?
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: Hold your place and Psalm one will come back there for just a moment.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: Psalm one, twenty-eight verse number one, the Bible says this.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: Psalm one twenty eight one blessed here's that word again is I told you that word blessed is or blessed are in various ways it appears about seventy times in Scripture here's another one of them Blessed is every one that fear the Lord that walketh in his ways
- 3:44[SPEAKER_01]: If you're looking for that discipline, you're looking for that delight.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_01]: If you find those things, then there will be divine prosperity.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: Go back to Psalm one.
- 3:54[SPEAKER_01]: Bless is everyone that fear the Lord.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_01]: But then, look at verse number four.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: We're not going to spend a lot of time here, but just by way of conclusion, Psalm one, verse four, the ungodly are not so.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_01]: I mentioned maybe on Sunday night that this passage is a studying contrasts.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: You have the man who'll say no to these ungodly, to the sinners, to the scornful.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_01]: But his delight is in the law of Lord.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_01]: But then in verse four, all these amazing things.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: Blessed is the man that walk of not in the counsel of the young God.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_01]: Let's a smart thing, or stand it in the way of sinners, or sit in the seat of the scornful.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: But his delight is in the law of the Lord.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_01]: in his law to the meditate day and night.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: He should be like a tree planted by the rivers of water.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_01]: That's a beautiful scene, isn't it?
- 4:52[SPEAKER_01]: His leaf also shall not weather and whatsoever he do with shall cross the amazing promises.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_01]: The ungodly are not so.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_01]: All those great things that were just promised, the ungodly don't get them.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: for that way is the question.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_01]: If you walk with young godly and you stand with sinners and you sit with the scornful and you don't delight with the law of the Lord, it sure seems like verse four applies to you.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: The young godly are not so.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_01]: Her to man ask, is the Bible?
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a true question.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: Is the Bible the most important book ever written?
- 5:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_01]: When are you gonna start reading it like it is?
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'll tell you that question.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_01]: There's no fingers pointing out at you.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_01]: They're all pointing at me right now.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_01]: When am I going to start reading it like it is?
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, no.
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I do.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_01]: I study it.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: No, no.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: When are you going to start reading it like it is the most important book in history?
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: I can tell you with full transparency and it won't shock you to find out that I don't know that I read it that way.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_01]: The more is my shame.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_01]: So if we were to ask tonight,
- 6:29[SPEAKER_01]: Where are you in your Bible reading today?
- 6:34[SPEAKER_01]: Where are you this week?
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't purposely left myself about ten minutes short, but we can take the dime to ask everybody.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not going to do that.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: But how much does the hair on the back of your neck stand up thinking, oh, he just might?
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm gonna have to lie in God's house because I haven't touched that book since Sunday night.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_01]: And it was a while back before that that I touched it again.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: We get on to our kids when they can't find their bibles to come to King's kids with.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: But at least they've touched theirs more than we do ours sometimes.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: I hope that's not the case.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: Because if it's the most important book ever written, we should read it like it is.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: But his delight is in the law of the Lord and in his law to the meditate day and night.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_01]: Do you want these promises?
- 7:30[SPEAKER_01]: And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: His leaf also shall not wither.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: And whatsoever he do with shall prosper.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: The ungodly are not so but are like the chaff.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_01]: Chaff doesn't have roots.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_01]: Chaff doesn't have fruit.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: Chaff, but like the chaff, which the wind drive the way.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_01]: therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment or sinners in the congregation the righteous.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_01]: Why for the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous?
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: The question for me tonight is, do I delight in his law?
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: What a sad thing you would be if
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: visually figuratively, it was not me.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: We are his bridegroom, are we not?
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: No different figuratively speaking, then Ms.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: Laura will be the bride here in a few weeks.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: What a sad thing it would be if I, as his a bridegroom, sorry, we are the bride, we are his bride.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: What a sad thing would be if he is standing to receive his bride and I shy away from him.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't bold well for your future eternal relationship in heaven.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: Thank God we're perfected there because I'm certainly I'm not here.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_01]: But I wonder where it should delight tonight.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: I believe it bears mentioning one last time, I have funny enough.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_01]: Just how Lord does it, I do my best to separate my devotional time from my preparation time.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: And for the tide, as you will know, those times so often they blend together more than they should.
- 9:20[SPEAKER_01]: We prepare our preachers, we prepare, we prepare, we prepare.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_01]: And we don't leave time for God to speak to us, where we try to fill our vessels, speak to something else.
- 9:28[SPEAKER_01]: And this morning, I was doing my best to not prepare.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: And the Lord just happened, that I was in the second Samuel XIII, that was where I was at.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_01]: Speaking about a man named Amnon, who had a friend, and Jonathan Amnon,
- 9:48[SPEAKER_01]: walked with the ungodly didn't he?
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: He stood with sinners sat down with a scornful, junked out, was not a man to be tripled with.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: He recommended some evil, essential things, an amn on a ruined and lost his life as a result.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: And that's first for the ungodly or not so.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_01]: I realized today, it used to be, and team camp, we have to preach against your friends, and we still do.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: We say, you gotta be careful of your friends, because they'll tear you away.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_01]: The problem is, today, when I've been talking about your physical friends anymore, it's harder, you have to tear yourself away from this.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: But until you do, I can tell you, with assurance, you will never be able to delight in the law of the Lord until you get rid of the fake sugar.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_01]: You know what it is after you've eight healthy for a week or two or three, I know it's been very rare for me, okay?
- 10:45[SPEAKER_01]: But you know what it's like when you eat a strawberry for the first time after your cravings have adjusted a little bit and how sweet that thing is, how good it is instead of just the fake stuff.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: Friend, the fruit of this word is incredible, but we drown ourselves with the fake stuff.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_01]: Happy man can say no.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_01]: learns to say no.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: It's a lifelong practice.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_01]: The happy man trains his cravings.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: His delight isn't a law of a Lord.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: Every had bound, every had close.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_01]: Friend, as we kind of said way, to the last part of the chapter here, Psalm one, we're gonna look, the remainder of the week.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_01]: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, at verses four, five and six of Psalm one.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_01]: But I'm gonna ask you, as we get into the last couple of installments, would you really focus your mental energies?
- 11:45[SPEAKER_01]: What a sad thing would be is if we, if you were with me all this time and then you kind of faded off of there, I realize it's been of seven.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: This is the seventh or seventh broadcast on Psalm one.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_01]: We only have eight, nine and ten left.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_01]: I pray it's going to be a blessing to you.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trusting that it will be so tune in if you would.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_01]: As always, if you'd ever like to reach out, I honestly, I'd love your opinion on this longer series.
