- 0:07issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:10hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:14royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:16These recordings took place live from Adam's clinic in London's
- 0:19world famous Harley Street. This podcast features powerful
- 0:23hypnosis, so do not listen while driving or operating machinery.
- 0:27This recording is not suitable for those with epilepsy or
- 0:30severe mental health issues, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:34enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:40Hi. It's Adam here.
- 0:41And in today's episode of The Hypnotist, you can be listening
- 0:44to a hypnosis session specifically about cocaine
- 0:49addiction. And I've done a few of these
- 0:51recently. I think a lot of people realize
- 0:55just how destructive this drug is, how financially, emotionally
- 1:00and physically costly this particular drug is.
- 1:04A recent one that I did related more to someone that just wanted
- 1:08to lose the desire for it. They weren't a heavy user.
- 1:11This one you're about to listen to is for someone that was using
- 1:15it daily and it was really not through pleasure and recreation,
- 1:21it was really as a coping strategy.
- 1:25To deal with. Things like loneliness and
- 1:27overwhelming emotions. So it was a form of self
- 1:31medication, but because of their quantity of use had led to quite
- 1:36a high level of dependency. So what you can hear in this
- 1:40particular hypnosis session is an element of strategic elements
- 1:47of how they're going to taper off an expectation that it might
- 1:52be difficult because the body, when it's used to a certain
- 1:55thing, can have withdraw rules and cravings when it doesn't.
- 1:59So you can hear a metaphor of this tunnel with a light at the
- 2:03end of the tunnel and that the goal isn't that this is easy,
- 2:08that it is manageable, that they that every day their body is
- 2:13adapting to a future where they're not dependent on it.
- 2:16So there's lots of behavioral strategies and managing of
- 2:21expectations, but having a very clear version of the future that
- 2:26they want. And what I like in this one is
- 2:28that there's a nice element of future pacing but introducing
- 2:33resource states they get. To meet.
- 2:37Basically their twin sister that had exactly the same life that
- 2:40they had, that was using the same amount that they had from
- 2:44their future that is now free of cocaine.
- 2:47So what it does is it gives them an element of encouragement,
- 2:50support, because a lack of connection was one of their key
- 2:54motives for using and the sense that this is a winnable, albeit
- 2:59difficult challenge. So there's a bit going on here.
- 3:02I would say this is going to be more relevant if you are a heavy
- 3:07user of a substance. This relates to cocaine, but I
- 3:11would say that the structural element of this would still
- 3:14apply if you are a heavy user of something else so that you get
- 3:19to. Connect.
- 3:21With the future version of you that is no longer trapped or
- 3:25dependent on whatever your substance seems to be.
- 3:29If it's a you're a very infrequent, infrequent user of
- 3:33something and you just want to lose the desire for that, Maybe
- 3:37check out my earlier episode where it's about reducing
- 3:42desire. This is more about.
- 3:44Becoming a non. User.
- 3:46There's a bit more going. On here SO.
- 3:48Find a quiet, comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
- 3:51Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep breath in and as you
- 4:40breathe in, just imagine breathing in a feeling of calm
- 4:48relaxation. And as you exhale, just allow
- 4:57any feelings of worries, stresses, any tension to feel
- 5:06like it's leaving your body in that outward breath.
- 5:14Breathing in, relaxation and exhaling tension.
- 5:20And just notice your eyelids feeling heavier and heavier,
- 5:25more relaxed. So as you breathe in and breathe
- 5:29out, you feel that you're drifting to a place, a place of
- 5:36calm, confidence, and relaxation.
- 5:44Let your breath become smooth, steady, calm, even, effortless.
- 5:53Each inhale brings in a feeling of resourcefulness, and each
- 5:59exhale feels that you're just left letting go of any heavy
- 6:06emotions from your past, just allowing it to leave your body
- 6:13in that outward breath. And I wonder if you can use the
- 6:19power of your imagination to imagine a warm, gentle light
- 6:26surrounding you like a blanket of light, soft and soothing.
- 6:35Allow this light to feel warm, peaceful, and protective.
- 6:41But allow it to help every muscle to soften, release, and
- 6:49relax. And as you relax, I want you.
- 6:58To think. Of a long tunnel, and at the end
- 7:04of that tunnel there is a light, and standing in the light at the
- 7:10end of that tunnel is your future self, the person you will
- 7:17become. I want you to see a person that
- 7:22is already free from the hold of cocaine.
- 7:29I want you to imagine there is a version of you that exists
- 7:33living a life of fulfillment, connection and joy.
- 7:39A version of you that gets their dopamine from accomplishing and
- 7:47achieving. I want you to know, not believe,
- 7:52but know that future version of you does exist and is waiting
- 7:59for you. This person is someone who feels
- 8:05whole, complete, alive, without needing substances.
- 8:14Their life, their experience, that's their addiction.
- 8:24I want you to hold on to that vision.
- 8:28This is the person you are becoming and you will get to
- 8:36that person one step at a time. But before we gravitate towards
- 8:47that person, I want you to imagine what it would feel like
- 8:53to stand at the top of a staircase, believing that each
- 9:00step down the staircase will enable you to feel deeper and
- 9:08more relaxed, almost like it's a staircase going down into your
- 9:15subconscious mind. So imagine this staircase,
- 9:22perhaps made of wood or marble, or maybe carpet.
- 9:30But as you. Step down that first step of the
- 9:34staircase, feel a wave of peace and calm resonating through your
- 9:43body, and with each subsequent step you will move closer to
- 9:52that part of your subconscious mind where lasting change
- 9:58happens naturally. I'll countdown from 12:50, each
- 10:08number enabling you to go further down the staircase. 10
- 10:15stepping down deeper and deeper. Nine.
- 10:22Feeling safe, feeling peaceful 8.
- 10:29As you relax, particularly the muscles in your face, your mind
- 10:35opens to new possibilities. Seven more and more relaxed arms
- 10:45and legs feeling limp, loose and heavy.
- 10:49That's it. Six, feeling lighter, perhaps
- 10:56almost like a floaty sensation. And five, you are going deeper
- 11:02now, deeper to a place where transformation takes place.
- 11:13Four, even more relaxed. You're further than halfway down
- 11:20that staircase. You're feeling more confident 3
- 11:27sinking deeper still now 2 almost there, and one getting to
- 11:34the bottom of that staircase, feeling completely relaxed and
- 11:40ready to make the change. And now that you're deeply
- 11:49relaxed, I want you to imagine something powerful.
- 11:56I want you to imagine someone that looks exactly like you, but
- 12:02isn't you. Almost like you have a twin
- 12:08sister that has lived your entire experience.
- 12:15Everything you have experienced, they have experienced.
- 12:20Every moment of happiness, sadness, joy and trauma they
- 12:26have experienced, They are you, but not you.
- 12:33They've experienced everything you've gone through.
- 12:36Someone who has walked the same path, felt the same struggles.
- 12:42Someone that understands your journey completely.
- 12:49I want you to feel that she has been where you are and she is on
- 12:57a journey to overcome it. I want you to get a sense that
- 13:04what if this version of you was almost a future version of you
- 13:11that has already overcome it. Your imagination can play with
- 13:18time. You've had dreams about being in
- 13:22your past. You've had thoughts about
- 13:26drifting into a future. And what if your twin sister has
- 13:33learnt to let go of the hold cocaine had on her and now she
- 13:39is free? What if your twin sister knows
- 13:45exactly what it takes to be free, and you know that if she
- 13:53can do it, so can you? What if she is here to help you,
- 14:03to guide you, to support you, and to offer you everything that
- 14:10she's learned? She is you in your future and is
- 14:17able to help you escape from the same prison she was trapped in.
- 14:26I need to imagine her standing by your side showing you the way
- 14:32forward. Maybe she tells you the first
- 14:38few days will be difficult, that the body may react with
- 14:43withdrawals, but she has made it through and so will you.
- 14:52She's been there, and now she wants to help you prepare for
- 14:57that challenging few days ahead. I want you to imagine the two of
- 15:05you side by side, walking through this process together.
- 15:12You are not alone in this. You have the wisdom and strength
- 15:18of your twin sister guiding you every step of the way and
- 15:27together you will map out your strategy step by step.
- 15:38I want you to get a sense that if you know the first two or
- 15:40three days will be challenging, think of what you can do
- 15:48together to mitigate that. Challenge.
- 15:55That for the first few days when the body's cravings may be the
- 15:59most intense, together you have a clear plan.
- 16:06And maybe that involves drinking plenty of water.
- 16:11Maybe it's sipping herbal teas or nourishing your body with
- 16:17healthy juices that you've already made in advance.
- 16:24I want you to get a sense that you will take care of yourself.
- 16:29And maybe you imagine that part of this first few days is taking
- 16:35hot showers to relax you or cold showers to invigorate you.
- 16:41I want you to get a sense that whenever you need it, you can
- 16:46nap or sleep, rest and recharge. I want you to get a sense that
- 16:59if cravings arise, you will have a strategy.
- 17:05I want you to get a sense that you've got a Plan A, a Plan
- 17:10BACAD and an E. And going back to cocaine isn't
- 17:17even on that long list, not even AZ all the way down the list.
- 17:24There's so many things you can do before that thought ever
- 17:29enters your mind. Maybe you focus on reading
- 17:35something that stimulates your mind.
- 17:42Maybe you distract yourself with healthy or enriching activities.
- 17:49You have an irrefutable belief that cravings are temporary,
- 17:54just like a wave that comes and goes.
- 17:59If a cockroach was in your kitchen, you wouldn't feed it to
- 18:02make it go away. You would stamp on the cockroach
- 18:07or starve the cockroach. Cravings are cockroaches and you
- 18:13will deprive them of what they're craving and they will
- 18:17become less and less frequent. Your twin sister reminds you
- 18:24that this journey is manageable and you will take it one step at
- 18:31a time, one day at a time, knowing that every day you are
- 18:37closer to freedom. Get a sense that as those first
- 18:45few days go by, the body is already adapting.
- 18:53Just after two or three days, there is no cocaine in your
- 18:55blood, in your saliva. At this point it isn't a
- 19:04physiological addiction, it's a psychological addiction and you
- 19:09will give yourself permission to be gentle with yourself and this
- 19:16will help this process. Be kind.
- 19:23You will allow yourself space to rest and heal knowing that your
- 19:30body and mind will recalibrate. Your body wants to adapt, and
- 19:42now I want you to understand something very important.
- 19:47Cocaine was never the answer. It was never the thing that
- 19:54would truly fill that void. And for a long time, it may have
- 20:01seemed to fill a void. A space that felt empty.
- 20:10But the truth is that void can never be filled by a substance,
- 20:16otherwise it would have been filled if the void remains.
- 20:23This was never the solution to that void.
- 20:30What if the real way to fill that space, that void, is by
- 20:36releasing the emotional baggage, any pain, any traumas, any
- 20:42intrusive thoughts that have kept you stuck in the past?
- 20:48I want you to get a sense then using a drug to numb a pain.
- 20:56It's just treating a symptom temporarily.
- 21:00When you let go of the pain, the need to numb the pain also goes
- 21:07away. Your twin sister knows this.
- 21:16She has released those past burdens, and now she stands
- 21:22before you as a shining example of how letting go of the past
- 21:29opens the door to a brighter, more fulfilling future.
- 21:39I want you to get a sense that your pain, the past, any
- 21:46regrets, any shame, any any sadness, is like a heavy rock
- 21:54that you're still attached to. I want you to get a sense it's
- 21:59time to let go of that past. It was never meant to hold you
- 22:05back. It was meant to make you wiser.
- 22:11And if it feels like now is the time to let go of all of that
- 22:15pain and baggage from the past, let me know by nodding your
- 22:19head. So let go of that pain.
- 22:25Walk away from that heavy rock that's been holding you back.
- 22:30And when you do feel a sense that that void seems to be
- 22:36missing, I want you to get a sense then.
- 22:44Freedom comes from allowing the past to make you wiser and more
- 22:51resilient, not to make you sad and ashamed and in pain.
- 23:00To take all of the wisdom, all of the resilience, knowing that
- 23:06you're already making so much progress towards that future
- 23:12version of you standing there in the light.
- 23:17And notice how you begin to feel lighter, freer, and more
- 23:24connected to the world around you.
- 23:28You will feel the joy of caring for yourself because you are
- 23:34worth it. It is your nature to be caring,
- 23:40but now you have a duty of care for yourself.
- 23:47You can't pour from an empty cup.
- 23:52It is not selfish to give yourself the care you need.
- 23:59From this moment on, you will recognize the power of caring
- 24:04for yourself, the importance of prioritizing your own
- 24:11well-being. You will begin to see that all
- 24:17the time, energy, and emotion you've put into caring and
- 24:21helping others can now be redirected to care for yourself.
- 24:30You need to feel that you're a few weeks into the future and
- 24:35have made so much progress. Your twin sister is proud of you
- 24:40for taking these crucial steps, and she's here to remind you
- 24:47that you are strong enough to take and make this journey.
- 24:56Things don't have to be easy to be doable.
- 24:59Your life is evidence of this. Feel that the more challenging
- 25:05the journey, the prouder the accomplishment.
- 25:10The becoming your future self will be your proudest
- 25:16accomplishment. Your twin sister has done it as
- 25:24you already know that your twin sister is just you.
- 25:28And a few months from now and now it's your turn.
- 25:33You are not alone. Every step forward is a step
- 25:37towards that life of freedom, fulfilment and connection.
- 25:43It's time for you to claim it. That heavy rock holding you back
- 25:49is no longer there, so now you can make that progress towards
- 25:56the person you deserve to be. Happy, fulfilled, confident.
- 26:04And as you begin to prepare for the weeks ahead, you can rest in
- 26:11the knowledge that you are supported.
- 26:15Each day you will take small, manageable steps towards this
- 26:20freedom. And when cravings come, you will
- 26:25have the tools to manage them, knowing that your journey is
- 26:31manageable, achievable, and each day you stay committed to your
- 26:37path, you will feel stronger, more confident and more capable
- 26:45of achieving the freedom you deserve.
- 26:51The first few days will be the hardest, but that's also
- 26:59evidence that everything else will get easier and easier.
- 27:07Pain is temporary. And what if it's the price of
- 27:14freedom? You can manage this.
- 27:21I want you to get a sense of what the next few days will be
- 27:24like. Imagine yourself doing what is
- 27:27necessary to make this progress. And when you feel you have that
- 27:33clarity of what comes next, those steps in the right
- 27:38direction, let me know by nodding your head and feel that
- 27:45you are unlocking all of the resources required to make these
- 27:50steps manageable. You're doing this for you and
- 27:56you're doing this for all the people, dead or alive, that want
- 28:04you to be happy and what you're capable of.
- 28:13And if you feel that you're making a promise to yourself and
- 28:16to them, then feel that you've already taken that first step or
- 28:23first few steps. This isn't about starting
- 28:27something. It's about continuing on the
- 28:31foundations and progress you've already made.
- 28:35It's time to come back to the here and now, so take a deep
- 28:40breath in through your nose and out through your nose.
- 28:47Wiggle your fingers and wiggle your toes.
- 28:48Connect with the here and the now as I now count from 1:00 to
- 28:5310:00 to awaken you. Starting to count 123 waking up
- 29:01456 more alert. 7-8. Open your eyes.
