Latest / Mom Street USA / 121. Perfect Star Wars Day
Transcript
- 0:05Welcome everybody to Mom St. USA.
- 0:07My name is Jackie AKA Wishes Mama and on today's episode of
- 0:11Mom St. we are returning back to what I feel like is a Mom St.
- 0:16community favorite topic and that is Star Wars.
- 0:19So today we are talking about the perfect Star Wars day and we
- 0:24are going to talk about both Disney World and Disneyland.
- 0:28You will find that they are fairly similar, but we will
- 0:31we'll talk about maybe some of the similarities and differences
- 0:35in what you can find on both coasts.
- 0:37And I will also give you kind of like what I would do if I were
- 0:41going to plan to spend an entire day doing only Star Wars things.
- 0:45So that little mini itinerary, so to speak, is coming up soon.
- 0:50But let's go ahead and jump in because we are calling All Star
- 0:53Wars fans because this episode is for you.
- 0:56Again, I thought it would be helpful to talk about this
- 1:00because I know that it is a favorite topic of a lot of our
- 1:02community members here at Mom St.
- 1:05And I also thought it would be helpful to compile a single
- 1:09episode where you can find all of the Star Wars stuff from the
- 1:13parks in one place. We are going to do this with a
- 1:16couple other topics coming up on future episodes.
- 1:20So I know I've got it in the plans to talk about the perfect
- 1:23Princess day and also perhaps the perfect Mickey Mouse themed
- 1:26day. But if there are others you want
- 1:29to hear, please let me know either in the comments or, you
- 1:31know, reach out to me 'cause I would love to do some kind of
- 1:35character or IP focuses going forward.
- 1:38These episodes are super fun. So we are going to hit the
- 1:41Disney World and Disneyland Star Wars aspects in this episode.
- 1:45So no matter if you're looking east or West, we have got you
- 1:48covered for sure. Now, a brief disclaimer before
- 1:51we jump into all of the really good Star Wars information
- 1:55today. And that is this is just our
- 1:57best suggestions and everything that I could recall from my
- 2:02brain and look up for all of the things Star Wars.
- 2:05You can adjust your plan. You can alter this plan based on
- 2:08what your travel party needs. But also there are limited time
- 2:12things that pop up that probably are not going to be mentioned in
- 2:16this episode very much because it's not the norm, right?
- 2:19So we're looking here at what is currently the norm for the Star
- 2:23Wars areas on both coasts. So with that, we are going to be
- 2:27starting at Walt Disney World and like I mentioned, we'll jump
- 2:31to Disneyland here in a little bit and I've kind of got this
- 2:34broken down into some categories for you guys.
- 2:37So we're going to talk attractions, we're going to talk
- 2:39shows and entertainment characters, we're going to talk
- 2:42food shopping and then just like other fun things that kind of
- 2:46don't fall into any of those categories as well.
- 2:49So kind of covering all of that for each coast is the plan.
- 2:53So we're going to start at Disney World with the
- 2:56attractions because I feel like that's the first thing that
- 2:58comes to everybody's mind when they're thinking about what Star
- 3:01Wars things they want to plan to do.
- 3:03So at Disney World, currently there are three Star Wars themed
- 3:09attractions and they can all be found over at Hollywood Studios.
- 3:12Now, the majority of what we are going to talk about today for
- 3:15Star Wars at Disney World is at Hollywood Studios.
- 3:19So keep that in mind if you're thinking about like what parks
- 3:23you want to visit or how much time you want to spend in
- 3:26certain parks, like if, if Star Wars is your thing, you're going
- 3:29to want a full day, at least in Hollywood studios to kind of get
- 3:35some experiences in with this. I'm so those three attractions
- 3:39are Star Tours, Rise of the Resistance and Smugglers run.
- 3:43So a brief note about those. We've talked about these in
- 3:46several different various episodes on Mom Street, but just
- 3:50some notes about the fact that Star Tours is kind of the OG
- 3:55Star Wars ride, right? It has existed the the longest
- 3:58of those three. Now, the thing that's a little
- 4:03tricky, and we find this at both coasts, is Star Tours does not
- 4:09exist in the same realm and mindset as Rise of the
- 4:14Resistance and Smugglers Run. Star Tours is meant to feel more
- 4:20like a movie set that you're walking into.
- 4:23So it's not meant to feel like you are truly immersed in the
- 4:27story, although it does feel like that as you're writing that
- 4:30attraction. But as you approach Star Tours,
- 4:33you will see that there are big adats or ATATS depending on
- 4:38which camp you're in for that pronunciation outside.
- 4:43You know, you're going to see some some different movie props
- 4:48and you know, things like that that feel like they belong in
- 4:51the movies, but it's not truly meant to feel like you are
- 4:54immersed inside of the story, which is why it is not found
- 4:59inside of Galaxies Edge. It is found outside of that area
- 5:04of the park. That's purposeful.
- 5:06That's why they didn't move it when they created Galaxies Edge,
- 5:10right? Because it's meant to be more of
- 5:13a movie set. That's why it's so close to Back
- 5:16Lot Express. That's why it existed previously
- 5:19close to the streets of America and the Back Lot Tour.
- 5:23All those things that used to exist at Hollywood studios made
- 5:27more sense for Star Tours when that all existed.
- 5:31Well, now that a lot of that has been changed and transformed and
- 5:35and all of that and we now have Galaxy's Edge, I understand the
- 5:41confusion, but I just wanted to kind of give you that little
- 5:44Nuggets to help you kind of understand because Rise of the
- 5:48Resistance and Smugglers Run, both are inside of Galaxy's Edge
- 5:52on the planet of Batu. And they are meant to feel like
- 5:56you are inside of the movies. All of the people that are there
- 6:02are portraying characters, all of the cast members that you
- 6:08come across on those attractions are citizens of Batu, right?
- 6:13So there's, there's a little bit of, you know, the, the, the
- 6:19character in the acting that goes into it when it comes to
- 6:21things that are on planet in galaxy's Edge, which is most of
- 6:25what we're going to be talking about here.
- 6:29So just a a brief note about that and I may refer to that a
- 6:33little bit later 'cause we're going to talk about characters
- 6:34here shortly and, and some things to kind of differentiate
- 6:39between those. So just keep that in mind.
- 6:42So those are your three attractions.
- 6:43Star Tours, Rise of the Resistance, Smugglers run Star
- 6:46Tours is a simulator ride where you sit down and it's like
- 6:49you're flying with C3PO and R2D2 to various different Star Wars
- 6:55related locations. Rise of the Resistance is an
- 6:59incredible attraction that deeply immerses you into Ray's
- 7:05storyline with the Resistance and you know, Resistance camp
- 7:09and Kylo Ren and trying to escape and those types of
- 7:12things. Again, I don't want to do too
- 7:13many spoilers if you're like first time Star Wars fan
- 7:17visiting this, like don't want to do that.
- 7:19So that one's a little bit different and it's got several
- 7:22kind of pre shows that work you through the storyline.
- 7:25And then Smugglers Run is similar in some ways to Star
- 7:29Tours in that it is like a motion simulator, but it is a
- 7:32six person ride vehicle where you each have a job.
- 7:35So you've got 2 pilots that are in charge of controlling and
- 7:39flying the ship. You've got 2 Gunners and you've
- 7:42got 2 engineers that are in charge of like fixing things as
- 7:45you go through your adventure there.
- 7:46So all fabulous, fabulous attractions and all really,
- 7:52really fun to to to plan for if you we're a Star Wars fan.
- 7:58So let's move on to talk about shows.
- 8:00Now, sadly, there were some other shows that previously used
- 8:05to exist that were Star Wars themed.
- 8:07We used to have the Jedi training Academy that was over
- 8:10near Star Tours. You know, there used to be Star
- 8:13Wars weekends that they would do and things like that.
- 8:15Currently, as we are recording this podcast in March of 2026,
- 8:21none of that currently exists, but the closest thing to a show
- 8:26that you get actually features Kylo Ren and some of the
- 8:30stormtroopers, and that is the First Order search for the
- 8:33Resistance. And that show takes place
- 8:36various times throughout the day.
- 8:38And it takes place by the ship that I believe and don't come
- 8:41for me, Star Wars people, I'm doing my best is called the Thai
- 8:44Echelon. And it is the one that can be
- 8:46found closest to the milk. And if you are locating that
- 8:51area on your trip to Batu and that is a show that features
- 8:56Kylo Ren. He comes out of the ship and
- 9:00interacts with the crowd and talks about, you know, searching
- 9:03for the resistance in that. So that is a super fun little
- 9:06show that you can experience. It's a little more interactive.
- 9:10They're walking around in the in the crowds and kind of
- 9:15interacting with with guests that are there visiting.
- 9:17So that is super fun. If you are a Kylo Ren fan, that
- 9:21is something that or you're really interested in seeing that
- 9:24definitely put that on your list for sure.
- 9:26A couple other things that you can see Star Wars related at
- 9:30Hollywood studios. And again, all this we've been
- 9:32talking about so far as Hollywood studios.
- 9:34I will make sure you know, if it's not, let's talk about
- 9:37character. So circling back a little bit to
- 9:40the characters that we talked or the the way that we talked about
- 9:44Star Tours versus the other rides being off planet versus on
- 9:48planet, the characters follow a similar a similar structure in
- 9:55that currently where we're at again, March of 2026, there is
- 10:01only one Star Wars character that meets outside of Galaxy's
- 10:06Edge. So because of that, that
- 10:11character interaction is structured completely
- 10:14differently from the other character interactions on
- 10:17planet. So Darth Vader currently is the
- 10:21only character that meets outside of Galaxy's Edge.
- 10:27He was over at Star Wars Launch Bay that has been closed for
- 10:30refurb and will not be opening in the same way that we knew it.
- 10:34It's going to be a completely new experience over there.
- 10:37So Darth Vader has been relocated over to like the side
- 10:41queue area of Star Tours. So if you are already going to
- 10:45Star Tours, you can kind of piggyback that character, meet
- 10:49with that. And this is a true like standard
- 10:53structured character meet. You wait in line, there's
- 10:55somebody, there's a character handler there.
- 10:58You get to take a picture and have an interaction, all that
- 11:01kind of thing. So this is a true character meet
- 11:05with Darth Vader. He is the only one that has that
- 11:09true character meet feel. The other characters, and I'm
- 11:13about to list them all for you and tell you where you can find
- 11:16them, are all characters that exist on planet.
- 11:21So they are not standard character meet and greets.
- 11:25They are not. I wait in line, I go up, I take
- 11:28a photo, I get a signature, I move on.
- 11:31None of these are that way. These are character interactions
- 11:36that you can happen upon. You can take photos, but it's
- 11:40not like I'm going to stop and take a picture with everybody
- 11:43situation. So keep that in mind.
- 11:45These characters can all be found various times throughout
- 11:49the day. And again, always refer to your
- 11:51app, check your times, make sure you know kind of where they're
- 11:54going to be and when they're going to be so you don't miss
- 11:55them. But we talked about the
- 11:58stormtroopers. The stormtroopers also, after
- 12:01the show tend to roam for a while outside of the Thai
- 12:05Echelon ship. So that corridor that leads from
- 12:09the milk stand past Ogas, which we'll talk about all of this
- 12:14briefly, and kind of towards the Millennium Falcon, that area is
- 12:18where you're going to be most likely to run into a
- 12:20Stormtrooper and they will interact with you.
- 12:23They are fabulous to interact with.
- 12:25They do a great job, but again, not a standard character meet
- 12:30and greet. Kylo Ren, same thing, you know,
- 12:33at the at the TIE echelon near the milk stand, he does come
- 12:36down into the crowd a little bit.
- 12:38He is not as free roaming as frequently as the stormtroopers.
- 12:43So if you want to see Kylo Ren, you do need to kind of make it
- 12:46to that First Order search for the Resistance show because
- 12:49that's going to be your best bet in being able to see him.
- 12:53Chewbacca. So he is a character that did
- 12:55used to meet over with Darth Vader in the Star Wars launch
- 12:59Bay Area. Again, that area has been closed
- 13:01for a complete refurb. So he is now only found on
- 13:06planet and you typically find him near the Millennium Falcon.
- 13:11So underneath where that ship is in Galaxy's Edge, there's like a
- 13:16little fence line kind of that kind of keeps it all contained.
- 13:21So you will find him wandering in there occasionally.
- 13:24He's also over on the other side of Galaxy's Edge near the Droid
- 13:30depot where those ships are as well.
- 13:33He'll be wandering through there occasionally and sometimes you
- 13:36do find him wandering through the, you know, the pathways as
- 13:41he's moving from place to place. So lots of different places that
- 13:44you may find Chewbacca if that's somebody that you want.
- 13:47And the same thing goes with Ray.
- 13:49Ray is often found over by the Millennium Falcon.
- 13:52She can be found over by the other ships on the other side
- 13:55near the Droid depot. She can be found wandering
- 13:58through the pathways. So it's it's more of a
- 14:01happenstance when you find those two characters.
- 14:04They're not as set as far as like where and when they're
- 14:08going to appear as like the Stormtroopers and Kylo Ren are.
- 14:12So keep that in mind. You may have to do a little bit
- 14:15of hunting to find them and have that interaction that you're
- 14:19looking for with them. A couple other characters, VI
- 14:23Murati, which is a character that was created for Galaxy's
- 14:28Edge and BA2. We talked about her briefly back
- 14:31with our episode with Stevie that we talked about like how to
- 14:34read Star Wars. She is a super fun character.
- 14:37So look her up if you haven't heard about her, but she is a
- 14:41character that was created for the parks and she same way you
- 14:44can just kind of happen upon her as she is doing her missions
- 14:50across BA2. Keep an eye out for her
- 14:52definitely. And then the final character
- 14:55that I want to talk about is the Mandalorian and Krogu.
- 14:59This is by far the most popular character meet and greet, quote
- 15:03UN quote meet and greet because it's not again, the standard
- 15:05meet and greet in Galaxy's Edge. It's the newest one.
- 15:10It tends to be very chaotic if you are planning to meet the
- 15:15Mandalorian and Grogu. So definitely be patient.
- 15:20Definitely get to the time early if you can because even though
- 15:25these characters are not standard meet and greets, they
- 15:27do have times in the app. So check your My Disney
- 15:30Experience app and see what time it is that he is planning to
- 15:33come out. So that way you know when to
- 15:37kind of position yourself accordingly.
- 15:41So where he meets is at the end of the Black Spire market.
- 15:47So there's a big marketplace that connects from the one end
- 15:52of Batu through Ronto Roasters and kind of towards the Docking
- 15:56Bay 7 in the Millennium Falcon area.
- 15:59That end towards Rise of the Resistance is going to be the
- 16:03end that you are going to find The Mandalorian.
- 16:06And again, you want to get there early, you want to be prepared
- 16:11to be patient because there is no line.
- 16:13He will interact and approach people.
- 16:16Please give him space. That is one of the really hard
- 16:20things about this particular character interaction is that it
- 16:23tends to be very, very busy and people tend to get very, very
- 16:27close because they're excited and they want to meet him and
- 16:30they want to get their chance to interact and take a, a selfie or
- 16:33a photo or whatever they are looking for.
- 16:37Just be aware of the personal space and, and the personal
- 16:41bubbles, right? And wait your turn.
- 16:43That's all. That's that's all I'm going to
- 16:45say for that, but just be aware of that.
- 16:47But you can find him again near the end of Black Spire market
- 16:50kind of towards the rise of the resistance side for that.
- 16:54And that kind of wraps up our character list.
- 16:57Like I said, those are the standard characters that you
- 17:00find daily wandering through or if you're Darth Vader meeting
- 17:06outside of the attraction over there.
- 17:09There have been events where like speciality events where
- 17:12we've seen, excuse me, there have been other specialty events
- 17:17where we've seen other characters that have popped up,
- 17:19but generally speaking, those are the characters that you're
- 17:21going to find all at Hollywood Studios for your perfect Star
- 17:25Wars day. Next thing we're going to talk
- 17:28about is food options. So the first restaurant that you
- 17:32can look into whenever you are visiting Galaxy's Edge at
- 17:36Hollywood Studios is Docking Bay 7.
- 17:38This is the biggest, most popular quick service restaurant
- 17:42that can be found inside of Galaxy's Edge.
- 17:45They have a pretty wide menu, but be warned that some of the
- 17:49names on the menu are a little bit different than maybe like
- 17:53your standard options. So they have things like a
- 17:57chicken tippy up there that is super popular, which is kind of
- 18:00just like it's it's chicken, right?
- 18:02So just read those descriptions, kind of get an idea of what type
- 18:05of food it is that they serve. They serve Ronto wraps also here
- 18:10after 3:00 PM. We'll talk about the other
- 18:11location. You can get them before 3:00 PM
- 18:15here in just a moment. They have some more exploratory
- 18:18flavors, but they also have a lot of really standard options
- 18:21here as well. And the nice thing about this is
- 18:23that you can mobile order, and I do highly suggest you mobile
- 18:26order here. They have a good amount of
- 18:29seating, but seating can be tricky depending on the time of
- 18:32year, the time of day, how busy it is, all of those types of
- 18:35things. For that, the next location
- 18:38we're going to talk about is Katsaka's Kettle.
- 18:41This is a stand that is like a snack stand that is found inside
- 18:45of the marketplace and it's got primarily popcorn.
- 18:50At the Disney World location, you'll find a Disneyland that is
- 18:53actually not the case, which I thought was really interesting.
- 18:56So mostly popcorn options here. They've got a blue buttered
- 18:59greens and then they have an Outpost popcorn mix, which is
- 19:02like a sweet and spicy mix. And this is where the infamous
- 19:07cold brew black calf drink can be found.
- 19:11So this went viral, Oh gosh, I don't know, three years ago or
- 19:14so at Disneyland and then it came over to Disney World
- 19:18shortly after that. But it is Joffrey's coffee
- 19:20topped with like a sweet cream cheese foam and Cocoa Puffs.
- 19:25So it is the Super popular option over at Katsakas.
- 19:30I do recommend you mobile order because you can that will save
- 19:34you some time because that line can get long inside of that that
- 19:37marketplace because it's a very convenient location.
- 19:40If you're walking through and shopping at the little little
- 19:42stores and kiosks that are in there.
- 19:44You get to the end and you go, oh, popcorn, that sounds good,
- 19:47right? So I do highly suggest you
- 19:49mobile order and just a note, if you are someone that likes to
- 19:53partake or indulge, you can get your cold brew black calf
- 19:57spiked, which I didn't realize. So if that's your option.
- 20:01Or if that's what you like to do, you can do that there.
- 20:04And again, like I did mention, they do have mobile order
- 20:06available. The next little kiosk that we're
- 20:09going to talk about, I actually already mentioned when we were
- 20:11talking about the Thai Echelon ship and that show with Kylo Ren
- 20:16and the Stormtroopers. And that is the milk stand.
- 20:18Now don't let this confuse you or concern you.
- 20:24They are not truly serving milk as you would think.
- 20:29So they have two different colors of milk, but it is all
- 20:34coconut and rice milk based. So it is not true dairy filled
- 20:40milk. On a hot day in the Florida sun,
- 20:43it is actually very refreshing. So here they do have a blue milk
- 20:46that is coconut and rice milk with fruity characteristics.
- 20:50And then they have a green milk, which is the coconut and rice
- 20:53milk with citrus and tropical. So it's a little bit more, you
- 20:57definitely can taste the citrus in the green milk.
- 21:00I really like the blue milk. I don't like citrus as much as I
- 21:04do kind of the more fruity based.
- 21:06So I really like the blue milk there.
- 21:09They also have these Kessel Run rations, which is a pretzel
- 21:13croissant sprinkled with a smoked sea salt and serve with a
- 21:16caramel chocolate sauce. Now the food at the milk stand
- 21:20does tend to kind of rotate in and out.
- 21:22It's not always consistent. So definitely look up the menu
- 21:25if you are wanting to try that to make sure it's still there.
- 21:28The other thing that they offer there is this Tempo Swirl
- 21:32Crunchies cereal drink and it is blue milk with Raspberry Jelly.
- 21:38Kind of like you know what Starbucks when they when they
- 21:41like put the syrup on the sides of the cup for you, they do that
- 21:46with Raspberry Jelly with this drink and then they top it with
- 21:51with nerds, which is so interesting.
- 21:53So that is something to consider if that's what you want from the
- 21:58milk stand. And they do also do mobile
- 22:02order. So that is again something else
- 22:05to consider when you are looking at what you want to get.
- 22:12The milk stand is typically pretty quick because they don't
- 22:16have as many offerings and they they can get through the orders
- 22:23fairly quick. So it's not as crucial here that
- 22:29you mobile order, if that makes sense.
- 22:31Keep that in mind. Do what you will with that.
- 22:33I sometimes mobile order there, sometimes don't.
- 22:36It just really depends on the day with that one at two more
- 22:39locations that we've got to talk about this next one.
- 22:42I again, I think I've mentioned both of these actually already
- 22:45in this episode. It's hard not to when you're
- 22:48talking about 1 area of the park.
- 22:50But let's talk about Olga's Cantina.
- 22:52So Olga's Cantina is a fully immersed Star Wars bar with
- 22:56themed drinks and a few appetizers.
- 23:00This is a very popular location inside of Galaxy's Edge.
- 23:05You do need a reservation, so make sure that you do that
- 23:08because despite it not being like a full table service, they
- 23:11do require reservations. They do also have some same day
- 23:14walk up options and if they have enough staffing, they also have
- 23:19like A to go option where you can stand and wait and just the
- 23:23cast member will let you in to just go to the bar order, get
- 23:26your drinks and then walk out. So ask the cast member outside
- 23:30if you don't want to like spend time going in, but you want to
- 23:33try something from in there and see if they have like the walk
- 23:36up or the to go options available for that day.
- 23:39Because they did when we were there at the end of May last
- 23:42year. And I had never even known that
- 23:44that was an option before. So something good to keep in
- 23:48mind if you are going to be potentially visiting Galaxy's
- 23:52Edge and you want to try something from Oga's, but maybe
- 23:54you don't want to spend an hour inside there, right?
- 23:59So that is a super, super popular, really, really fun
- 24:02option in there. And despite it being a a bar,
- 24:05really, truly, it is very family friendly inside.
- 24:09The only thing I will say is that the majority of the spaces
- 24:14inside of Ogas don't have seats. So it's a lot of tabletop, like
- 24:21high top tables or a lot of the walls.
- 24:25They have like little like alcoves in a lot of the walls in
- 24:29there. And a lot of them just have like
- 24:31a like a bar top that you can put stuff on, but they don't
- 24:34have like stools. So keep that in mind because
- 24:39like I didn't take my kids in until this last time we were
- 24:42when we went and they were, let's see, 6:00 and 8:00 when we
- 24:46went inside. And even then, I think my, you
- 24:50know, my, my kiddos were like, OK, we're tired.
- 24:53We don't stand here anymore. You know, they had fun.
- 24:55They like to dance to the music. My daughter got questioned by a
- 25:00stormtrooper that walked into Olga's, which was super fun.
- 25:03So it was a great experience. And they do have non alcohol, a
- 25:07ton of non alcoholic drinks in there as well.
- 25:10So it is definitely a a kid friendly space, but I wouldn't
- 25:15necessarily take little little kids in there because of those
- 25:20couple things. So decide accordingly.
- 25:23Maybe the walk up option is great.
- 25:25Maybe you do some dividing out if you've got kiddos, and maybe
- 25:28the kiddos run into a Toy Story land to ride aliens swirling
- 25:32saucers while you go to Olga's, you know?
- 25:34So decide what works best for your group, but just keep those
- 25:38things in mind about Olga's Cantina.
- 25:41The last food location inside of Galaxy's Edge is Ronto Roasters.
- 25:46This is a quick service, more of like a stand because it's not,
- 25:50there's not a ton of seating. There's a little bit of seating
- 25:52nearby, but it's not like a full quick service restaurant in the
- 25:56morning. They have things like the Ronto
- 25:59morning wrap, which is like eggs and sausage inside of that, like
- 26:03like a pita bread, and they've like overnight oats and some
- 26:06other options there as well. And then once it flips to
- 26:09lunchtime, they have the traditional Ronto wrap.
- 26:12They have chiral pork rinds, they have a zucchini wrap, you
- 26:17know, so lots of different options.
- 26:18They're not as big of a menu as docking by 7 is going to have,
- 26:22but definitely a really great option if you're looking for
- 26:25that. Now, Ronto Roasters at Hollywood
- 26:27Studios does close fairly early. Usually around 3:00 PM is when
- 26:33that location will close. So if you want to eat at Ronto
- 26:38Roasters, I would plan to do it for breakfast or lunch so you
- 26:41don't miss out on trying any of the food that you might want to
- 26:44try inside of there. And they do mobile order as
- 26:48well. That line can ebb and flow.
- 26:50So I, I just pretty much always suggest mobile ordering just
- 26:53because it's going to save you the time when it comes to, you
- 26:58know, you're busy Disney Day. So I would mobile order there.
- 27:01Not a huge deal if you don't or if you want to, you know, look
- 27:04more at the menu and see kind of what they've got before you
- 27:07decide. That's also definitely something
- 27:09that you can do. So like I said, all of those
- 27:14locations all exists inside of Galaxy's Edge.
- 27:17So tons of food options inside that area, lots of places to
- 27:21grab a snack or a quick drink if you choose to inside of that
- 27:27area of the park. The next thing we're going to
- 27:29talk about is shopping. So inside of Batu, you can find
- 27:34this marketplace, they call it the Black Spire Marketplace, and
- 27:37it is kind of centrally located inside of the Galaxy's Edge and
- 27:42inside of the marketplace, it's kind of a partially covered area
- 27:46where you've got these little tiny shops on either side as you
- 27:49walk through. So in there you can find things
- 27:52like the creature stall, the Toydarian toy maker, Black Spire
- 27:57Outfitters, so lots of themed stuff.
- 28:00Again, all of this is to be like you are living inside of their
- 28:07universe. You're not going to find inside
- 28:11of Batu things that say Star Wars on them because to them,
- 28:18that movie franchise doesn't exist.
- 28:20They are just living their lives as Batuidians on their planet.
- 28:25So you will find outfits, but they're not going to be like
- 28:29Star Wars merch, if that makes sense in this particular
- 28:32location. So keep that in mind and I'll
- 28:35talk about where you can find actual Star Wars merch here in
- 28:40just a moment. So those different things are
- 28:43inside of the marketplace. If you're looking for those also
- 28:47in the realm kind of out the one, and as you're going towards
- 28:52the Millennium Falcon, you can find Doc Ondar's Den of
- 28:57Antiquities and that is where you will find the lightsabers.
- 29:01So we're going to talk a little bit more about lightsabers and
- 29:04building your own lightsabers actually just here in a moment.
- 29:08But that is where you will find like certain character
- 29:11lightsabers or certain kind of pre made lightsabers are inside
- 29:18of that shop. A couple other shops that you
- 29:21can find that are actually not on planet.
- 29:24So these next two that I'm going to mention are ones that you
- 29:27will find that do have Star Wars merchandise.
- 29:30The first is tattooing Traders and this is the merchandise
- 29:33location that you walk through when you exit Star Tours.
- 29:38So we already talked about the Star Tours is not on planet,
- 29:42right? It's outside of the realm of
- 29:45that. So you will find Star Wars
- 29:48spirit jerseys and lounge flies. You'll find the more plastic
- 29:53lightsabers there, pins and all of those types of merch that
- 30:00you're used to seeing it in Disney shops.
- 30:02You're going to find that at Tattooing Traders.
- 30:04So if you're in the park and you want that type of stuff,
- 30:07Tattooing Traders is your location.
- 30:09You're going to go to the other location that you can find Star
- 30:13Wars merchandise is at Disney Springs.
- 30:16So this is the one of the locations that is not at
- 30:21Hollywood Studios. Remember I told you the majority
- 30:23what we're talking about is at Hollywood Studios.
- 30:24This is not this is at Disney Springs, which Disney Springs is
- 30:28the shopping center location at Disney on property and that is
- 30:32the Galactic Outpost. The best way that I can tell you
- 30:37is that it is in the West side of Disney Springs.
- 30:41It is actually next door to the Marvel store.
- 30:45But again, that doesn't really truly help.
- 30:47Depending on what you know and what you're familiar with, it is
- 30:54kind of near the movie theater. So you kind of can go down past
- 31:02and around the corner from the movie theater.
- 31:05And it is also near the like Planet Hollywood and near the
- 31:13Starbucks over on that side. So if that kind of gives you
- 31:16some some different points to look for when you're trying to
- 31:20find that location. But again, they're going to have
- 31:23similar things to like what tattooing traders had.
- 31:27They may have a few things from the Batuan Marketplace stores,
- 31:34but mostly it's going to be that traditional Star Wars merch.
- 31:37So those are your locations if you're looking for kind of more
- 31:41standard merchandise with the Star Wars logo or the name or
- 31:46characters on it, things like that.
- 31:48You can find them at either tattooing traders inside of
- 31:50Hollywood Studios or at the Galactic Outpost at Disney
- 31:53Springs. So that brings us to my kind of
- 31:57other fun category when it comes to doing our perfect Star Wars
- 32:03Day. Because believe it or not,
- 32:05that's only about half of the information when it comes to
- 32:08Star Wars things at the park. So let's talk about what else we
- 32:12can do if we are trying to plan that perfect Star Wars day.
- 32:16So a couple things that you can do inside of a Galaxy's Edge
- 32:20that we haven't talked about yet.
- 32:22The first one is Savvy's workshop, which is where you can
- 32:26custom build your own lightsaber.
- 32:28So we talked a little bit about lightsabers earlier.
- 32:32Doc Ondars is where you find the ones that are pre made or that
- 32:35are characters or those types of things.
- 32:39Tattooing traders, you can find the more plastic kid versions of
- 32:43lightsabers, but Savvy's is where you will do your custom
- 32:48built lightsaber. So reservations are required for
- 32:51Savvy's and can be made 60 days ahead of time.
- 32:55The lightsabers currently, again, prices can change, but
- 32:59they currently go for two 7499 per lightsaber.
- 33:04So definitely an investment, definitely not a toy.
- 33:10So keep that in mind if you've got a Star Wars kiddo.
- 33:13These are very expensive lightsabers.
- 33:18So just just putting that out there and no discounts apply,
- 33:23unfortunately. So annual pass discounts, CBC
- 33:25discounts, any of that. They don't take those.
- 33:27It does include a carrying case. This is recommended.
- 33:30The experience is recommended for ages 5 and up.
- 33:33You can have two people per reservation.
- 33:35One will do the building and the other is just like there with
- 33:39them to watch Hangouts, have the experience with them and one of
- 33:44those two that are on there must be at least 14 years of age.
- 33:48So if you've got 2 kiddos that you want to send to do it, one
- 33:52of them has to be at least 14. And it's recommended that the
- 33:55youngest is five if you are wanting to send your little in
- 33:59to do that experience. It is a 31 inch blade if that
- 34:03matters to any of you who are Star Wars lightsaber people.
- 34:07And you choose your hilt theme based on the options that they
- 34:12have. So it varies in what they have
- 34:14in stock, but they have like 5 or 6 different options as far as
- 34:18like themes on the hilt style that you can choose from.
- 34:22And you select that when you go to your actual reservation.
- 34:26So that's not something that you pick ahead of time.
- 34:28You will do it like when you check into your reservation.
- 34:31This is a really, really fun, really immersive, super cool
- 34:35experience to have. I definitely agree with the five
- 34:39and up because you want to make sure that your littles are
- 34:44careful and can listen to what they're supposed to be doing
- 34:47because it kind of they kind of walk you through the process of
- 34:49how to build it and you know, putting the kyber crystals in
- 34:53and all that kind of stuff. So you definitely want to have
- 34:55them be able to follow those directions and kind of
- 34:57understand what it is they're doing.
- 35:00But a super, really, really cool experience to have.
- 35:04Another really fun experience is the Droid Depot.
- 35:06So this is where you do custom built droids.
- 35:09So they have custom built lightsabers and also custom
- 35:11built droids. You can again buy standard
- 35:15droids inside of some of the shops.
- 35:17I think Doc Ondar's actually, it's a shop that has the
- 35:20standard droids inside of it, but this is where you go if you
- 35:24want to customize your own. Again, reservations are required
- 35:29for this experience and can be made 60 days out.
- 35:32They do have limited same day reservations available.
- 35:36You're going to want to check your My Disney Experience app
- 35:39for that and then or check the website to see what's available
- 35:43for that. A couple different options that
- 35:46you have at the Disney World version of this because you can
- 35:50do this in Disneyland, but they actually have other options out
- 35:52there. So we'll talk about that here
- 35:53briefly or here shortly. I should say you can do either
- 35:58ABB series, think BB8, or you can do an R series, so think
- 36:03R2D2, right? So those are the two different
- 36:05Droid options that they have. You will choose your pieces kind
- 36:08of as they pass by you on a conveyor belt.
- 36:11It's a really, really cool setup that they have for this
- 36:14experience and the droids are currently 1/29/99 plus tax and
- 36:19again, no discount supply. They do include a carrying box
- 36:24with your reservation. You can also purchase like
- 36:27specialty backpacks and other things that you can use to carry
- 36:32your Droid. So, but at the very minimum,
- 36:34you're going to have at least a box to put it in to be able to
- 36:36carry it with you. This is recommended for ages 3
- 36:39and up. And I would, I would agree with
- 36:41that. And same thing, you can have two
- 36:44people on your reservation time, one that actually does the
- 36:47building and the other one that kind of is just there with them.
- 36:49And at least one of the two of those must to be at 14 years or
- 36:53older. And also keep in mind with the
- 36:56droids, they have recently rolled out more of these.
- 36:59But there are kind of various personality affiliation chips
- 37:03and other accessories that you can buy for an additional
- 37:05charge. So the 1/29/99 is just like your
- 37:08standard flat rate for starting. But if you want to do any
- 37:11specialty personality chips or things like that, those are an
- 37:15additional cost for that. So those are the two expensive
- 37:21options of more fun things that you can do in the when you are
- 37:26visiting to make your your day, your very perfect Star Wars day.
- 37:31The next two things that I'm going to talk about actually
- 37:33have to do with the Disney Play app.
- 37:36So a couple different things that you can do on there while
- 37:40you are inside of Galaxy's Edge and both of these are so much
- 37:44fun. The first one is the Star Wars
- 37:47Data Pad mode. So this is on the Disney Play
- 37:51app. So you're going to want to
- 37:52download that app. It is separate from my Disney
- 37:54experience, but you're going to want to download that app before
- 37:57your trip and have it kind of logged in and ready to go.
- 38:00And you will activate it will like prompt you to activate the
- 38:04Star Wars data pad like set of skills and adventures on your
- 38:11app. So once you do that, you're
- 38:13going to find many different tools on the phone that will let
- 38:18you explore the planet. You can choose to translate a
- 38:23variety of languages from across the Galaxy, including Arabesh
- 38:27signs throughout the Black Spire outpost.
- 38:29So anytime you see stuff written on signs or on buildings and
- 38:33it's written in Star Wars language, Arabesh, it will help
- 38:37you translate that. You can scan objects around the
- 38:41spaceports to discover different precious cargo and kind of go on
- 38:44adventures that way. You can also tune and decrypt
- 38:48communications sent by the planet's many residents.
- 38:51So they kind of have different things that you can interact
- 38:54with with that. And then you can also use the
- 38:57Star Wars data pad to kind of hack into and interact with
- 39:02several different devices, control panels, androids that
- 39:05are out and around for Galaxy's Edge.
- 39:09So that is a super fun way if you've got a kiddo that is able
- 39:13to kind of handle manipulating an app, which you know, most of
- 39:16our littles can by the time they would be interested in doing
- 39:19something like that. That is a super fun way to kind
- 39:23of interact with the the location in the area around
- 39:26them. Certain games on that play
- 39:28Disney app will also interact with things in the queue and the
- 39:33areas around rise of the resistance and smugglers run.
- 39:36So if you are looking for more things to do while you're
- 39:39waiting in line, that app may be a benefit for you to have.
- 39:43The other really fun thing that it does is bounty hunting.
- 39:47So over on the side of the the the planet that is kind of near
- 39:53the Droid depot, there is a screen kind of located across
- 39:58from the end of the marketplace and down and down from the Droid
- 40:02depot area where you can use a magic band plus and you can go
- 40:08bounty hunting. So you kind of join the bounty
- 40:12hunters in your typical Star Wars area, and you literally
- 40:15play a giant game of hot and cold across.
- 40:20All of Galaxy's Edge and you're looking for different bounties
- 40:23and your magic band will light up red as you get further away,
- 40:28light up green as you get closer, and then it will turn
- 40:30purple when you have found your bounty.
- 40:33And with your play app you can scan and actually see who it was
- 40:36that you were looking for. So that is a really fun game,
- 40:41super fun to play. I I suggest doing that one when
- 40:44it starts to get a little bit darker because it's easier to
- 40:46see the like LE DS on your magic band when it's a little bit
- 40:50darker outside. So I would highly suggest not
- 40:54doing that like mid afternoon when the sun is really bright
- 40:57and it's really hard to see. But super, super fun thing that
- 41:00you can do with your play or Disney play app and your magic
- 41:04band is that bounty hunting. And my kids loved it.
- 41:07They thought it was so much fun. They love getting to run around
- 41:11and try to to find all the things they're supposed to be
- 41:13looking for. So super cool with that.
- 41:16One last thing that I want to talk about before I give you my
- 41:19little suggested itinerary for your perfect Star Wars day at
- 41:23Disney World. And then we'll jump to
- 41:24Disneyland is a couple different photo things that you can think
- 41:28about when you are visiting Batu.
- 41:31The first we've talked about before, which is the Capture
- 41:34Your Moment session. So these are those 20 minute
- 41:36private photo sessions that you can book for up to 8 guests that
- 41:40cost $99.00 for the 20 minutes. And they actually have specific
- 41:46ones for Galaxy's Edge. So they have one location that
- 41:49you can do in front of the Millennium Falcon and then they
- 41:51have another one that you can do in front of the 1st Order
- 41:54shuttle in some of the ships there as well.
- 41:57You can also choose to do it by the Black Spire Outpost.
- 42:01So different options kind of in that marketplace and near some
- 42:06of the ancient ruin spaces across all of Batu as well.
- 42:10So again, it is $99.00 for up to 8 people that can be included.
- 42:14Reservations are required for that and they can be made 60
- 42:17days out. Now with those capture your
- 42:21moment sessions, same day reservations are sometimes
- 42:24available, but you have to do at least two hours ahead of time.
- 42:28So like if it's 10 AM, you can't book an 11 AM time because they
- 42:33just won't. They can't accommodate that.
- 42:35It would have to be like noon or later.
- 42:36So just keep that in mind as you're looking for any same day
- 42:39availability. If you decide last minute that
- 42:42you want to book that, the other thing that you can keep an eye
- 42:45out for in the evening time, primarily around the Millennium
- 42:51Falcon area and kind of between the Millennium Falcon and the
- 42:54Thai echelon, where we've talked about that corridor before,
- 42:57where like the Stormtroopers are and stuff, and that is the
- 43:00lightsaber photos. These are so, so, so fun.
- 43:06So most evenings starting around sunset, these, this is an
- 43:09offering that you will find and it's at specific photo pass cast
- 43:13members. Not every photo pass cast member
- 43:15is going to be doing it. You will be able to tell which
- 43:18cast member it is because they will have lightsabers that you
- 43:21can borrow for these photo OPS. Now you are also welcome to use
- 43:27your own absolutely for sure, but they have different ones
- 43:30that you can borrow different colors and things and they've
- 43:33got a couple different locations that they do these photos.
- 43:36So by the Millennium Falcon is 1, there's a doorway kind of
- 43:41diagonally across from the entrance to Ogas Cantina where
- 43:44they do a lot of them to like really cool poses in that like
- 43:47it's just like a nonchalant doorway, but it looks really,
- 43:50really cool and photos so you can get photos there.
- 43:53But that is a really, really fun thing to do at the end of your
- 43:57Star Wars day. And you don't have to worry
- 44:01about whether or not you have your own lightsaber because
- 44:02they're going to have one that you can borrow.
- 44:04So super, super fun thing to do. And that is kind of different
- 44:10and unique and maybe people don't know about.
- 44:13So that is kind of the end of my list of things for Hollywood
- 44:19studios. Now with that list, let's talk
- 44:23about just briefly, and this is going to be pretty quick and
- 44:27simple as I go through this. I'm not going to get into too
- 44:29much detail, but let's talk about my suggested itinerary for
- 44:36if you want to do All Star Wars all day and do as many of these
- 44:45things that I mentioned as possible on your Star Wars day.
- 44:50So here's my suggestion for you, for Hollywood Studios, Again,
- 44:54this is going to be Hollywood Studios.
- 44:56I know we talked about there's one location at Disney Springs.
- 44:59We're not going to Disney Springs.
- 45:00So we're trying to get as much in as we possibly can, right?
- 45:03So my suggestion for Hollywood Studios for your perfect Star
- 45:07Wars day is to rope drop smugglers run.
- 45:09You can check on Rise of the Resistance.
- 45:11It doesn't like to open in the morning.
- 45:14If it does open, go there first. If it's not opened then hit
- 45:18smugglers run. You could always book a single
- 45:21pass lightning lane for Rise of the resistance if that's within
- 45:24your budget or something that you choose to budget for.
- 45:27So that's what I would do first is head there, try to get
- 45:30smugglers run and rise of the Resistance done as soon as you
- 45:33possibly can because those lines get long.
- 45:37I would grab something to eat for breakfast at Ronto Roasters.
- 45:40They have some really great breakfast options there and it's
- 45:42pretty quick and easy. And then I would do maybe a late
- 45:46morning reservation for either building a Droid or a
- 45:49lightsaber. Again, if that's within your
- 45:51budget and something that you would like to do.
- 45:54That would be when I would choose to do that.
- 45:56You could do then grabbing some lunch at Ronto Roasters again,
- 46:01because remember that menu switches over halfway through
- 46:04the day. So you could grab the afternoon
- 46:07Ronto wrap and then you could do either A to go drink from Olga's
- 46:11or grab an Olga's reservation for right after lunch to go in,
- 46:15get out of the heat, enjoy some drinks and some atmosphere.
- 46:18Have a good time there. After that I would suggest in
- 46:21the afternoon doing some of those data pad explorations on
- 46:25that play Disney app and looking maybe doing some character
- 46:29hunting and seeing what characters you can find.
- 46:31Shopping at the marketplace is a fun way to get out of the direct
- 46:36sun. It's not completely covered in
- 46:38in AC, but you definitely get out of the sun in there and that
- 46:43is a great time to do. To look at the wait for Star
- 46:45Tours. Star Tours is a very high
- 46:47capacity ride and it typically doesn't have too long of a wait.
- 46:50I wouldn't wait longer than 10 or 15 for Star Tours.
- 46:53So if it's like 35, you hit it at a bad time, come back in an
- 46:56hour and check it again with that that that'll take up most
- 47:00of your afternoon time is kind of just exploring and running
- 47:05around and having fun with all of that dinner at docking Bay 7
- 47:09Mobile order ahead of time so that way you don't get stuck in
- 47:12the dinner rush would be my suggestion.
- 47:15And then after that last chances to do anything that you may be
- 47:18missed. Evening photos, lightsaber
- 47:21photos and I like to visit the milk stand at night because I
- 47:24think it's a nice little kind of sweet treat to end your evening
- 47:30time inside of Galaxies edge. So that would be my brief
- 47:34overview of suggestions as far as what I would say to do on
- 47:39your perfect Star Wars day. Obviously you can pick and
- 47:43choose and manipulate that as you need to for your particular
- 47:49interests. If you are someone that really
- 47:50likes the rides and you want to spend more time, you know, going
- 47:55on the rides over and over and over again, or you want to focus
- 47:58on characters or shopping, you know, lots of different things
- 48:02that you can do in that as well. You know, it's kind of
- 48:04surprising how much they fit into one area of Hollywood
- 48:10Studios, right? It's pretty impressive all of
- 48:12the food and shopping and experience options that they
- 48:15have inside of there. So that is kind of our Hollywood
- 48:18Studios Disney World options for your perfect Star Wars Day.
- 48:24Now let's jump coasts and talk about Disneyland.
- 48:28It's been a minute since we've talked to Disneyland on Mom
- 48:31Street, but that's definitely something that I'm wanting to
- 48:33get back to. So let's talk about Disneyland.
- 48:37So the Disneyland version and the Walt Disney World version of
- 48:41Batu experiences are very similar in the way they are
- 48:44geographically set up. So I'm not going to go into a
- 48:47ton of details about the things that are the same as what we
- 48:51just talked about, but I will highlight differences and still
- 48:54give you the rundown of what you can find in different locations.
- 48:57All of that being said, Disneyland is getting a lot of
- 49:04new updates to their Galaxy's Edge coming very, very soon.
- 49:10So their timeline of who and what exists on planet is going
- 49:18to shift very, very soon. So beginning April 29th of 2026,
- 49:23which is, you know, a little less than two months away from
- 49:26when we're recording this, Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland Park
- 49:29will expand its timeline to include more of the Star Wars
- 49:34eras. Planet Leia Organa will be on
- 49:37planet Han Solo and Luke Skywalker, joining the other
- 49:40beloved characters that are already roaming the Outer Rim
- 49:43outpost. So they're going to be added to
- 49:48what is already existing there. Ray and the Resistance will
- 49:52continue their fight against the 1st Order in the Resistance
- 49:55camp. So they're keeping Ray and all
- 49:59of those and adding to which is super exciting.
- 50:03The other thing that they're adding, which is probably not a
- 50:05big deal to many of you, but is a big deal to me because I'm a
- 50:08total music nerd, is that they are going to bring in the
- 50:12musical selections from John Williams, who is the composer of
- 50:16all of the Star Wars film scores.
- 50:17And it's going to be played throughout the land.
- 50:19That music is going to be incredible to experience as you
- 50:24are walking through Batu. I am so excited for this
- 50:28experience to be over in Disneyland.
- 50:30I cannot wait to go in a few years and and kind of experience
- 50:34all of that. So that is super, super cool to
- 50:38hear about. So keep all of those things in
- 50:41mind. I am going to mention what is
- 50:43currently here and talk about kind of what they currently have
- 50:48to offer at Disneyland for their for their offerings for your
- 50:52perfect Star Wars day. Again, I'm not going to go into
- 50:55detail about the ones that I already talked about, so keep
- 50:58that in mind. Couple different things that
- 51:01they have here as far as attractions go.
- 51:03They do have Star Tours. Their Star Tours is in
- 51:06Tomorrowland. So think about, I should also
- 51:10mention we talked about Hollywood Studios for Disney
- 51:13World BA2 and Galaxy's Edge is in Disneyland.
- 51:17So Disneyland remember has two parks, Disneyland and Disney's
- 51:20California Adventure. Star Wars is at Disneyland kind
- 51:23of in the back area of the park. So but their Star Tours is in
- 51:27Tomorrowland. So don't get confused about that
- 51:30location. Again, same thing goes.
- 51:32It's not meant to be an immersive experience.
- 51:34It's not meant to feel like you're on planet.
- 51:36It's meant to be more like a look into the films.
- 51:40Rise of the Resistance exists on planet for them.
- 51:43Smugglers Run. Now this, and I didn't mention
- 51:47this before, but this is also the case for Disney World that
- 51:51in May 20 of 2026, May 22nd, 2026, they are going to have new
- 51:56missions coming to Smugglers Run.
- 51:58So that is a change that's going to happen on both coasts.
- 52:01So look up more information about that if that's something
- 52:04that you are interested in getting to be able to experience
- 52:08whenever you go to visit to and ride Smugglers Run.
- 52:11The other thing that they have over at Disneyland is that Star
- 52:15Wars Launch Bay. So we talked about how the one
- 52:17at Hollywood Studios has closed for refurb and is not going to
- 52:20exist any longer in the way that it did previously.
- 52:24Well, Disneyland still has Star Wars Launch Bay and it is again
- 52:28over in Tomorrowland and that is where you will find the the
- 52:33character meet and greet over there.
- 52:36That is like your standard traditional one.
- 52:38Now for them it is the IT is a Disney Visa card member Star
- 52:43Wars photo op over there. So that is one of those
- 52:46speciality ones for the Disney Visa card holders.
- 52:50The other thing that I do just want to mention in attractions
- 52:52before I jump to shows next is they do occasionally seasonally
- 52:59during special events, things like that have what they call
- 53:03Hyperspace Mountain, which is Space Mountain set to Star Wars
- 53:06music. So that is something that is
- 53:09offered fairly frequently in a rotation over at Disneyland.
- 53:13So if that is something that you are interested in, definitely
- 53:16look up if and see if there's any information available about
- 53:19when that may be returning. It is not currently at
- 53:23Disneyland, but it is something that frequently is in rotation.
- 53:27It comes back quite often over in Disneyland for that offering.
- 53:32So shows over in Disneyland, they have a new projection show
- 53:37that they just started. It's not currently running.
- 53:39But again, it's one of those seasonal things.
- 53:42We're not sure exactly when it may or may not come back.
- 53:45I would imagine in April when these new characters come to
- 53:53Galaxy's Edge that this will return.
- 53:55And that is the the projection show on the Spires of Batu that
- 53:59is called Shadows of Memory, a Skywalker saga.
- 54:03So it is a Star Wars themed projection show that happens on
- 54:08the Spires. Those are like big pointy
- 54:10things. You know of Batu over in
- 54:13Disneyland. No specific word on when or if
- 54:17this is coming back, but I would heavily think that April, May of
- 54:24this year, it will probably come back around.
- 54:28Just my guess. There's no truth to that.
- 54:33Just my, my guessing when it comes to that show.
- 54:37But I know that those who got to experience it when it was around
- 54:40that have said very, very good things about that.
- 54:44So let's talk about characters now similar characters to what
- 54:49we heard before. They've got Darth Vader in Star
- 54:52Wars launch Bay so that is that off planet meet and greet.
- 54:57They've got stormtroopers and Kylo Ren that are roaming near
- 55:00the Thai echelon by the milk stand.
- 55:02They've got Ray by the Millennium Falcon.
- 55:05They've got the Mandalorian and Grogu at the end of their
- 55:08marketplace. They also though characters that
- 55:12we don't have at I say we like it's my park, just the park I'm
- 55:16used to that Hollywood Studios does not have.
- 55:19They have Boba Fett that appears regularly at that same end of
- 55:23the marketplace where The Mandalorian is.
- 55:25And they also have Ahsoka Tano that comes out there as well.
- 55:28So those three kind of rotate through sets on that end of
- 55:33their marketplace. So Ahsoka, Boba Fett and the
- 55:36Mandalorian and Grogu can all be seen and that little courtyard
- 55:41type area over there. Now let's talk about some of
- 55:44these updates that I hinted at earlier because I've got more
- 55:48details about who is actually coming and where they're going
- 55:52to be and what they're going to be doing, right.
- 55:53So updates that are coming is and this is literally from the
- 55:59Disneyland website so apologies for the formal wording I guess I
- 56:04don't know but Darth Vader search for Luke Skywalker will
- 56:07bring him to Batu. The Sith Lord will be joined by
- 56:10Imperial Stormtroopers as they seek the elusive Jedi.
- 56:14They may find hints of the force around the outpost, so they will
- 56:19be joining everyone inside of BA2.
- 56:24I don't know what that means for the Disney Visa card holder spot
- 56:28at Disneyland. We'll have to see what they
- 56:30choose to do with that going forward when this happens,
- 56:32because these updates are coming in April.
- 56:37The other or the next update? Leia and Han Solo will be
- 56:40reunited with Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca among the rocky
- 56:44Spires. So Leia, Han, Luke, and Chewie
- 56:47will all be available to see and interact with again.
- 56:51None of these are going to be standard character meet and
- 56:53greets. They're all taking place inside
- 56:55Galaxy's Edge. Luke Skywalker will roam the
- 56:59outpost, seeking knowledge of the Force and artifacts related
- 57:02to lightsaber building, kyber crystals, and more.
- 57:04Leia Organa may be spotted near the Millennium Falcon, where
- 57:08she'll recruit travellers and locals to help keep Luke safe.
- 57:11Han Solo will also linger around his prized ship, tempted by the
- 57:15local cantina. You will be able to still
- 57:18encounter Ahsoka and The Mandalorian and Grogu near the
- 57:22marketplace. The forested area on the
- 57:26outskirts of Blackspire Outpost will continue to represent a
- 57:29time inspired by the age of the Resistance, and you will find
- 57:33Ray around this resistance camp. So Ray is going to shift away
- 57:37from the Millennium Falcon and be more in the kind of outskirts
- 57:41as they are describing it here from the website.
- 57:44And the last thing is the beloved Starship mechanic and
- 57:48fighter pilot assistant R2D2 will also continue to roll
- 57:53through the land. All of those offerings are going
- 57:57to be what you will find starting at the end of April out
- 58:00in Disneyland. So some really fun characters
- 58:03that you can find out there that are completely different than
- 58:06what you're going to find at Disney World.
- 58:07So you know, maybe you're may the fourth plans and you and
- 58:13Disneyland this year instead of Disney World to experience some
- 58:16of that. So you never know, right.
- 58:19So those are kind of your characters for and what is
- 58:23currently happening and what is coming for food.
- 58:28They have all of the same offerings that we already heard
- 58:32about. South Docking Bay 7 is a quick
- 58:34service restaurant there. Do keep in mind that
- 58:37Disneyland's menus do sometimes differ even if the locations are
- 58:42exactly the same, right? So Docking Bay 7 at Disneyland,
- 58:46typically speaking, Disneyland restaurants get more flavorful
- 58:50and more frequently rotating food than Disney World does.
- 58:54They have a lot more locals that they cater to.
- 58:57So they have to keep things, you know, rotating and keep things
- 59:01more, a little bit more interesting for them out there.
- 59:03But they do mobile order at their Docking Bay 7.
- 59:07They have Katsakas. This is a snack stand.
- 59:10But this snack stand is very different from the with their
- 59:15offerings than the one we talked about at Hollywood studios.
- 59:18So at Hollywood studios, we said they had the the two different.
- 59:21They had the buttered grains, the outpost mix for popcorn and
- 59:25then that black calf cold brew. Well, this location's menu has a
- 59:29black calf slushy currently. They also have a black Spire
- 59:34waffle with a dipping sauce, a Lysede popped grains and Crate
- 59:38Nutter popped grains. So different menu for cut
- 59:41sockets over there. So keep that in mind.
- 59:44You're not going to find the same offerings there as you did
- 59:46at Hollywood Studios and they do not do mobile order there.
- 59:49So another thing that is just a little bit different for that
- 59:53location, for the milk stand, they actually have a different
- 59:57milk offering. They do have the blue and green
- 59:59milk, but they now have that is fairly new over at Disneyland, a
- 1:00:03pink milk, which is a plant based rice milk blend with sweet
- 1:00:09and fruit characteristics. So they have blue and green.
- 1:00:12They also have pink over there, which I think that is so much
- 1:00:15fun. They do mobile order at their
- 1:00:18snack stand as well. For their Oga's Cantina it is
- 1:00:24exactly the same as far as being a Star Wars themed bar.
- 1:00:27But as I'm recording this there Oga's is currently closed for
- 1:00:31refurb and not a ton of information has been put out
- 1:00:35about what all is happening during this refurb.
- 1:00:41Other than the fact that they Disney has has made it known and
- 1:00:45hinted at the fact that the infamous Cantina band is
- 1:00:48supposed to be heard in Oga's this year coming with the new
- 1:00:52timeline. So the speculation is it may
- 1:00:54have something to do with that. Before it went under refurb it
- 1:00:58did go up to walk up or it did change to walk up availability
- 1:01:02only. So no reservations were
- 1:01:04available. Not sure if that will stay or if
- 1:01:06it'll go back to a reservation system when it reopens, which
- 1:01:10again, we don't have a date for that, but we do believe that
- 1:01:14that partially has to do with them making some changes and,
- 1:01:17and adjustments for that new updated extended timeline that
- 1:01:21we're getting over in Batu W, if you will.
- 1:01:26And then Ronto Roasters is the same quick service restaurant.
- 1:01:30They do mobile order, but do keep in mind that the the menu
- 1:01:34is similar, but they actually stay open later than the Walt
- 1:01:36Disney World version. So I talked about the Disney
- 1:01:39World. Ronto Roasters tends to close
- 1:01:41around 3:00 PM. The Ronto Roasters at Disneyland
- 1:01:45is usually open until 7:00 or 8:00 PM.
- 1:01:48So a little bit more time to get your Ronto wrap over at Ronto
- 1:01:52Roasters if you choose to. Which also means that Docking
- 1:01:55Bay 7 doesn't get a Ronto wrap over at Disneyland.
- 1:01:58You can only get those at Ronto Roasters because they have those
- 1:02:01extended hours there shopping pretty much identical.
- 1:02:07You've got the Batu in Marketplace with the Toy Darien
- 1:02:09toy toy maker that's like a tongue twister, the creature
- 1:02:12stall, the Black Spire Outfitters.
- 1:02:14You've got Doc Andar's Den of Antiquities with the
- 1:02:16lightsabers. They're off or out of park
- 1:02:21option for shopping. Can they do have one in Downtown
- 1:02:25Disney? And that is the Star Wars
- 1:02:27Trading Post. So if you remember the setup of
- 1:02:30Disneyland, Downtown Disney is really kind of attached by
- 1:02:34sidewalks to the parks. So you can hop right out of
- 1:02:38Disneyland or maybe on your way out back to your car, you can
- 1:02:41stop in that Star Wars Trading Post.
- 1:02:43That is going to be your stop for Star Wars branded merch.
- 1:02:48And now let's get to our little other fun category and that is
- 1:02:54the the stuff we haven't talked about yet, which is Sabi's
- 1:02:59Workshop and the Droid Depot. So we'll talk about Sabi's first
- 1:03:02since that was the first one we talked about with our Disney
- 1:03:04World options. These are again the custom built
- 1:03:08lightsabers. Reservations are required and
- 1:03:10can be made 60 days out. So same thing there.
- 1:03:13The interesting thing, and Kate and I kind of started to notice
- 1:03:17this a while ago on Mom St. like within the first year or so when
- 1:03:21we were comparing things from Disney World to Disneyland.
- 1:03:25Their lightsabers are two 4999 plus tax with no discount, so
- 1:03:33$30 cheaper at Disneyland than it is at Disney World, which is,
- 1:03:38you know, we could speculate why I'm not going to go there other
- 1:03:42than just that's interesting, right?
- 1:03:44They do have a carrying case that is included and again
- 1:03:47recommended for five and up with one of the two people attending
- 1:03:50needing to be 14 and older. Again, a 31 inch blade and you
- 1:03:55can choose your hilt theme based on availability.
- 1:03:57And they do seem to be the same lists that they're working off
- 1:04:02of. Again, subject to availability
- 1:04:04on both coasts for that. And then the last thing for
- 1:04:08Disneyland that I want to mention is the Droid Depot
- 1:04:11information for your custom built droids.
- 1:04:14Again, same thing as Disney World at Hollywood Studios.
- 1:04:19Some reservations are required and can't be made 60 days out.
- 1:04:21Limited same day reservations are available.
- 1:04:25Now here is where there are some differences.
- 1:04:28They're minor, but still some differences.
- 1:04:31You can do ABB series Droid, you can do an R series Droid, then
- 1:04:34they also have the C series Droid.
- 1:04:38So that is totally different than what you can find over at
- 1:04:40Disney World. If you are wondering what is AC
- 1:04:44series Droid, think Chopper. And that should give you an idea
- 1:04:49of kind of the the body shape and makeup of those C series
- 1:04:53droids. So that is a new thing for
- 1:04:55Disneyland that we do not have at Disney World.
- 1:04:58Again, you choose your pieces as they pass by on the conveyor
- 1:05:01belt. And here's the other difference
- 1:05:06we talked about Disney World, the prices and at Disney World
- 1:05:11your price for the Droid building was 1/29/99 at
- 1:05:16Disneyland is 1/19/99, so $10 cheaper.
- 1:05:23Again, I don't know, right? And SO1911999 plus tax.
- 1:05:32And then they also for the droids let you use a Magic Key
- 1:05:38or DVC discount. So if you are someone that is
- 1:05:41DVC and you're typically going to Disney World, you go to
- 1:05:44Disneyland. Something to keep in mind
- 1:05:47because not only is it $10 cheaper over there, but then you
- 1:05:49also have a discount you can use.
- 1:05:51Just say it. So again, little bit different
- 1:05:54with that a carrying box is included.
- 1:05:57You can also again, purchase backpacks and other things like
- 1:06:00that to be able to do to carry your Droid around.
- 1:06:04And again, various personality affiliation chips and other
- 1:06:07accessories are available for an additional charge there as well.
- 1:06:13So we made it to the end of our list of our perfect Star Wars
- 1:06:17day options. Now, I'm not going to give you
- 1:06:20my suggestion for the Disneyland itinerary because number 1, I
- 1:06:25feel like it would be almost the exact same and #2 I'm just not
- 1:06:28as familiar with Disneyland's to know for certain what their
- 1:06:31rides do all the time. But I imagine what I have said
- 1:06:37for Disney World would also apply fairly closely to
- 1:06:40Disneyland with that itinerary kind of rundown for your perfect
- 1:06:45Star Wars day. I hope that all this information
- 1:06:48for all of my Star Wars lovers out there has been super helpful
- 1:06:52and informative and maybe giving you some insight on why things
- 1:06:55are the way they are and maybe what you can do to plan your
- 1:06:58itinerary accordingly. When you are going to have your
- 1:07:02perfect Star Wars Day at Disney, whether Disney World or
- 1:07:05Disneyland coming up soon here on Mom St.
- 1:07:09USA, Like I mentioned, we are going to be doing some of these
- 1:07:12other perfect day scenario. We're going to talk about
- 1:07:14princesses. We're going to talk about
- 1:07:15Mickey. If there are other characters
- 1:07:17that you'd like to hear about, please reach out to me.
- 1:07:20Means I would love to help kind of pull and gather all of the

- 1:07:27you want to see. So you can always reach me with
- 1:07:30that or any other information. Mom St. usa@gmail.com or at Mom

- 1:07:38account. I'm so feel free to comment over
- 1:07:41there. I'll probably throw up a post
- 1:07:42over there asking for what other characters you guys might want
- 1:07:45to hear about and we'll just kind of sprinkle those little
- 1:07:48perfect Today episodes in here for the coming months of Mom St.
- 1:07:52episodes. Coming up next week, we have a
- 1:07:56special treat. We are going to be visited by my
- 1:08:00very, very good friend Kirk over at Walrus Carp.
- 1:08:04We're going to be talking about some of the other parks around
- 1:08:08the Orlando area, so maybe mentioning some things about
- 1:08:13SeaWorld, Legoland, Busch Gardens, some of those other
- 1:08:16options for things to do outside of Disney and Universal if
