- 1:35Speaker 2: then Francis and I are going to be in San
- 1:38Speaker 2: Francisco at Cobbs Comedy Club April twenty eighth and twenty ninth.

- 2:20Speaker 5: Good? Yeah? Good? You deserve one guys, you can see me.
- 2:25Speaker 5: I'm on tour right now, the hero We need tour
- 2:27Speaker 5: Francissels dot com. Come into a city near you, all
- 2:31Speaker 5: over everywhere. Yeah, that's right. Yeah. We had a nice
- 2:34Speaker 5: little time.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Yeah. We went to Long Island, those Long.
- 2:37Speaker 5: Beach, Long Beach, Long Island. By the way you're going
- 2:40Speaker 5: to You're going to Poughkeepsie.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:44Speaker 5: So there the river up there, which is the Hudson.
- 2:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:49Speaker 5: What's interesting about that part of the world is that
- 2:52Speaker 5: the Hudson River actually flows in both directions. Okay, the
- 2:56Speaker 5: current changes. That's that's very unusual for river. That is
- 3:00Speaker 5: very unusual. So you can make some jokes about going
- 3:04Speaker 5: both ways. All right, that's something I did when I was.
- 3:07Speaker 2: There, giving you.
- 3:08Speaker 5: I'm giving you a piece of local, local bit that
- 3:12Speaker 5: you can start off with where they'll be like, well,
- 3:14Speaker 5: you called our river bisexual right off the right, off
- 3:19Speaker 5: the jump.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Yeah, they probably get that a lot.
- 3:21Speaker 5: I wonder if they do. Oh no, I pro people
- 3:25Speaker 5: saying that they live in a piece of shit city.
- 3:29Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, I actually kind of don't mind. Poughkeepsie.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Now it's close too, which I'm happy about.
- 3:34Speaker 5: It's relatively close. They've got some good schools. I think
- 3:37Speaker 5: Marist is up there, yeah, and maybe some others. So
- 3:41Speaker 5: there's a big college scene. Yeah, you'll get some kids out. Yeah.
- 3:45Speaker 2: I'm doing one show in Albany and then two and Poughkeepsie. Nice. Nice.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Would I have rather had it the other way around?
- 3:52Speaker 5: Maybe more shows in Albany, yeah, and fewer shows and Pepsie.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:56Speaker 5: I think you will like Poughkeepsie more than you'll like Albany.
- 4:00Speaker 5: If I had to guess, I have no idea. I
- 4:01Speaker 5: just know allbody's selling better then I see. I see
- 4:04Speaker 5: what you're saying. That's interesting. I think the Poughkeepsie Room
- 4:07Speaker 5: is smaller. No, it's much bigger. What oh no, the no,
- 4:11Speaker 5: the Pokepsie Room is smaller. Yeah, well yeah that I
- 4:13Speaker 5: was up Yeah, but they was like three point fifty. Yeah,
- 4:16Speaker 5: it's in the mall. The big The Poughkeepsie Room is
- 4:21Speaker 5: in a bar, and they have good food and stuff
- 4:24Speaker 5: and it's a lively place that people come to hang out.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Hell yeah, yeah, it'll be fun.
- 4:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:28Speaker 2: I'm excited to go back on the road. I haven't
- 4:30Speaker 2: been on the road since Boston.
- 4:32Speaker 5: So how are you going to get up there?
- 4:33Speaker 2: Train? Probably? Nice? Yeah, if I had a car I
- 4:36Speaker 2: would drive, Uh, I don't could rent one. But then
- 4:39Speaker 2: the thing is, when you rent those cars, you got
- 4:41Speaker 2: to just like no where to bring them.
- 4:43Speaker 5: Do driver's license.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Yeah, but like you can't. I can't because you're going
- 4:49Speaker 2: somewhere that like like when I did it, When I
- 4:51Speaker 2: rented a car to go to Rochester, it wasn't somewhere
- 4:55Speaker 2: I could bring a car, and like, it's not like
- 4:56Speaker 2: when you get it from like Hurts or something like that,
- 4:58Speaker 2: you can bring it and drop it off. So I
- 5:00Speaker 2: just had to have it in Rochester the whole time,
- 5:02Speaker 2: and then I got charged every day even though it
- 5:03Speaker 2: was just sitting in a parking lot because I had
- 5:06Speaker 2: to drive it back.
- 5:08Speaker 5: I don't understand, like.
- 5:10Speaker 2: When you rent a car with like Hurts, if I
- 5:13Speaker 2: was going to like Albany, there's probably a Hurtz there. Oh,
- 5:16Speaker 2: you could leave it, you can drop it off and
- 5:17Speaker 2: then they only charge you for one day and then
- 5:19Speaker 2: you could rent another car to come home.
- 5:22Speaker 5: Why would you rent two cars.
- 5:24Speaker 2: So that you don't get charged for the days that
- 5:26Speaker 2: you're there when you're not using the car.
- 5:28Speaker 5: I see what you're saying. You only need the car
- 5:31Speaker 5: to get up there.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Yeah, back yeah.
- 5:33Speaker 5: So if you don't want to have a car, if
- 5:35Speaker 5: you don't want to have a car while you're up
- 5:36Speaker 5: there to go do rin things, drive down.
- 5:38Speaker 2: I'm not going to do anything.
- 5:40Speaker 5: You don't want to go get coffee?
- 5:41Speaker 2: No, maybe it did. I would just he Uber eats it,
- 5:43Speaker 2: or get from the hotel a bagel. No, I don't
- 5:47Speaker 2: eat until I go to the comedy club, and then
- 5:48Speaker 2: I eat something and then I go diarrhea for forty
- 5:50Speaker 2: five minutes wait on stage.
- 5:53Speaker 5: You don't eat anything until you go to the club
- 5:56Speaker 5: for the whole day.
- 5:57Speaker 2: But I'm not doing that. I'm not going to do
- 6:00Speaker 2: this weekend. This weekend, I'm like knocking. I think I'm
- 6:01Speaker 2: just gonna try and not drink.
- 6:04Speaker 5: Let me ask you something, what is it that you
- 6:07Speaker 5: What what got you into this mindset of just treating
- 6:11Speaker 5: yourself so poorly.
- 6:12Speaker 2: It's not a my it's not like a I don't
- 6:13Speaker 2: want to do that. It's just it happens. Why I
- 6:16Speaker 2: have bad habits.
- 6:17Speaker 5: Do you think that you glamorize No, not all. Not
- 6:23Speaker 5: being a kempt person.
- 6:25Speaker 2: No, because I was a very well held I was
- 6:26Speaker 2: a very super healthy person for a while, and then
- 6:29Speaker 2: I stopped working out, and then everything just came crumbling
- 6:31Speaker 2: down because I like, I used to go to the
- 6:34Speaker 2: gym every day and I would eat like only like
- 6:36Speaker 2: chicken and broccoli. I think it's just I go so
- 6:38Speaker 2: hard when I go to the gym that becomes like
- 6:41Speaker 2: my entire thing is like I'm oh, I'm a workout
- 6:43Speaker 2: dude now and I eat so I like weigh all
- 6:45Speaker 2: my food and shit, like I had like food scales
- 6:48Speaker 2: going what like tracking my calories? Why? Because I was
- 6:51Speaker 2: trying to get super ripped and I did. Did you
- 6:54Speaker 2: for a couple of months? Do you have any shirtless picks? No,
- 6:57Speaker 2: don't worry about it.
- 6:58Speaker 5: I would. I am not worried. I'm in treating. They're
- 7:00Speaker 5: not like I don't feel like going through that. You
- 7:03Speaker 5: have some though, No, not on this phone. Do you
- 7:05Speaker 5: have any pics of your best bod.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Could find them.
- 7:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I'd like to see this. I'd like to see
- 7:12Speaker 5: be fun to see how far are you falling?
- 7:15Speaker 2: I was? I got so I went so when I
- 7:17Speaker 2: first started working out, it was like, uh, it was
- 7:22Speaker 2: senior year of high school and I didn't know anything
- 7:25Speaker 2: about like nutrition, So I decided to just eat chicken
- 7:29Speaker 2: and broccoli for every meal. Little did I know that
- 7:32Speaker 2: I was actually in a super big calorie deficit. So
- 7:38Speaker 2: I didn't get big. I just got super skinny.
- 7:41Speaker 5: Oh and you weren't eating enough.
- 7:42Speaker 2: I wasn't eating enough at all, So I was like
- 7:45Speaker 2: I lost all. I was like, I was like ten
- 7:47Speaker 2: percent body fat, which is like pretty low, that's good.
- 7:51Speaker 2: And I had like abs and and but I was
- 7:58Speaker 2: skinny as fuck, like too skinny. And you're trying to
- 8:02Speaker 2: get shallow skinny.
- 8:03Speaker 5: You were trying to get muscular.
- 8:05Speaker 2: And then I then I learned about all of it.
- 8:07Speaker 2: And then what do you know?
- 8:08Speaker 5: Now?
- 8:09Speaker 2: I know, like I know like what like I need
- 8:11Speaker 2: like macros wise?
- 8:13Speaker 5: What's that?
- 8:14Speaker 2: What do you mean?
- 8:14Speaker 5: What do you need macros wise?
- 8:16Speaker 2: Like I know what. I know how to like calculate it,
- 8:18Speaker 2: Like I know I know how many carbs I need,
- 8:19Speaker 2: how much protein I need, how much fat I need?
- 8:21Speaker 5: Do you know that off the top of your head?
- 8:23Speaker 2: No, But it's easy as fuck to find out.
- 8:25Speaker 5: Well, then it sounds like you don't know it.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Did you just open up BMI calculator like macro calculator.
- 8:31Speaker 5: You've got an app.
- 8:32Speaker 2: No, you look look it up. You just look up
- 8:34Speaker 2: macro calculator and then you type in your weight and
- 8:36Speaker 2: your height and then what you want, what your goal is,
- 8:38Speaker 2: and then it tells you everything that you need to eat.
- 8:40Speaker 5: That's pretty cool.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Yeah, and uh so then I and I then when
- 8:44Speaker 2: I got back into I mean, I never stopped working out,
- 8:47Speaker 2: but then I was like, all right, I'm gonna bulk.
- 8:50Speaker 2: And I didn't really get as into it because I
- 8:51Speaker 2: was at college, so I wasn't like tracking my calories.
- 8:55Speaker 2: I was kind of just like, all right, I know
- 8:56Speaker 2: I need more protein, I know I need more carbs,
- 8:58Speaker 2: just kind of like rough doing a rough scale of it.
- 9:00Speaker 2: And then, uh and then I got bigger. But then
- 9:03Speaker 2: when I really got like when I put on a
- 9:05Speaker 2: lot of mass muscle was probably like last year or
- 9:10Speaker 2: two years ago, I guess now. And then I got
- 9:13Speaker 2: like strong. I was deadlifting like two twenty five nice
- 9:17Speaker 2: and I could bench one eight five for one rep sick.
- 9:20Speaker 2: And and that was when I was strong as fuck
- 9:25Speaker 2: for me. And then I got COVID and then I
- 9:28Speaker 2: have probably been to the gym ten times since then,
- 9:31Speaker 2: and that was over a year ago.
- 9:34Speaker 5: Damn. Yeah, we got to get you back, man.
- 9:36Speaker 2: And then I started doing stand up and then it's
- 9:38Speaker 2: like I can only I'm like I have hard times
- 9:40Speaker 2: focusing on more than one thing at once. So like
- 9:43Speaker 2: at that time, it was like working out was like
- 9:45Speaker 2: like work was like in the back burner. Could work
- 9:48Speaker 2: out was planned? Was the first thing?
- 9:51Speaker 5: Could we not reframe the way that you look at
- 9:54Speaker 5: all of this and say that you working out and
- 9:57Speaker 5: eating well is gonna help you with your work with
- 10:00Speaker 5: stand up?
- 10:00Speaker 2: No, I think it would because I'd feel better and
- 10:02Speaker 2: I'd be more energy.
- 10:03Speaker 5: I think you'd have more energy.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:04Speaker 5: I look at you, and I look I think I'm
- 10:06Speaker 5: worried about you.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, No. The problem is it's just like like
- 10:10Speaker 2: my showing yourself. Yeah, my sleep schedules fucked. I I
- 10:14Speaker 2: don't eat that bad. I don't eat super unhealthy. I
- 10:17Speaker 2: usually try and eat like relatively healthy. It's more just
- 10:20Speaker 2: like and I actually have cut back on drinking a
- 10:23Speaker 2: good bit. I really only drink on the weekends now,
- 10:26Speaker 2: and even then it's like sometimes I don't even drink
- 10:28Speaker 2: on the weekends. And I also do stand up sober
- 10:32Speaker 2: pretty much all the time.
- 10:33Speaker 5: That's good. I'm glad you got rid of that rind
- 10:36Speaker 5: through that.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Well, I also realized I just sucked at stand up
- 10:38Speaker 2: when I was drunk. Yeah, because I would like, I
- 10:40Speaker 2: would be like on stage like, damn, I'm fucking killing
- 10:43Speaker 2: And then i'd watch the tapes and there'd be like
- 10:45Speaker 2: forty second pauses in between words, and I'd be like, dude,
- 10:48Speaker 2: I look fucking so dumb right now.
- 10:50Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 10:51Speaker 2: So yeah, But the plan is when I move, I'm
- 10:56Speaker 2: gonna start cooking for myself again.
- 10:58Speaker 5: What are you moving?
- 11:00Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna move at the end of March.
- 11:02Speaker 5: Nice. Yeah, where are you gonna move to? Are you
- 11:04Speaker 5: gonna live alone?
- 11:05Speaker 2: Yeah? Wow? Yeah?
- 11:06Speaker 5: Sweet Yeah, you're gonna get sweet pad. Probably not how much?
- 11:10Speaker 5: How much are you will what's your budget?
- 11:12Speaker 2: I'd probably cap out at like right now, I pay
- 11:17Speaker 2: eighteen hundred, probably more like two thousand with like all
- 11:20Speaker 2: the Wi Fi and shit, and then I'd probably be okay,
- 11:29Speaker 2: like three thousand, I'd be fine with. I don't think.
- 11:32Speaker 2: I don't think i'd want to do four. I think
- 11:35Speaker 2: I think I could. I don't want to, though.
- 11:37Speaker 5: Yeah, but you'll see a place. You'll see a place
- 11:40Speaker 5: that's four and it's gonna be a lot better than
- 11:43Speaker 5: the place that's three and a half.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know. I just don't want I don't
- 11:47Speaker 2: like spending money. Yeah, but here's the thing. You haven't
- 11:49Speaker 2: paid rent since I wrote out my rent check today.
- 11:52Speaker 2: My landlord just doesn't ask for rent, kind of like
- 11:55Speaker 2: a we're like on like a trust, We're on a
- 11:57Speaker 2: trust system, and I haven't. I was doing the math
- 12:02Speaker 2: today and I was like, I was like, oh shit,
- 12:04Speaker 2: I'm gonna I should bring my because I have nothing
- 12:06Speaker 2: to do today after this. So I was like, maybe
- 12:08Speaker 2: I'll go bring my rent to my landlord, and then
- 12:10Speaker 2: I decided I'm not to because it's so he it's
- 12:12Speaker 2: a very shitty system. Like any other place that I've lived,
- 12:15Speaker 2: it's been like there's a portal or venmo Zell anything.
- 12:19Speaker 2: This is you got to bring in a handwritten check
- 12:23Speaker 2: to the land You have to bring it to his apartment.
- 12:25Speaker 2: I've done that before, and he lives all the way
- 12:27Speaker 2: up by Central Park, which it's not that it's not
- 12:30Speaker 2: that that's far, but it's that his apartment is a
- 12:33Speaker 2: like a fifteen minute walk off the train, which I'm like, Eh.
- 12:38Speaker 5: Why don't you mail it to him. I'm going to
- 12:40Speaker 5: do I'm gonna do that today ahead of time.
- 12:43Speaker 2: But I have to pay I'm paying five months of
- 12:47Speaker 2: rent today.
- 12:48Speaker 5: Are you sure this guy is still why?
- 12:51Speaker 2: I don't know, dude, Yo, there's no just the la.
- 12:57Speaker 2: But the thing is, every time I've paid rent, it's
- 12:59Speaker 2: been like that. I've probably paid rent three times in
- 13:03Speaker 2: the last year and a half and it's been like
- 13:06Speaker 2: four month payments. Man, So I haven't paid rent since November.
- 13:11Speaker 5: Is your roommate paying rent?
- 13:13Speaker 2: I have no idea, do we haven't. It got to
- 13:16Speaker 2: a point where he was like on our ass for
- 13:18Speaker 2: a bit, being like, I'm gonna have to start charging
- 13:19Speaker 2: you guys late fees. And that was when I brought
- 13:21Speaker 2: in like a shit ton of months and I paid
- 13:24Speaker 2: like months ahead too, because I was like, I know,
- 13:25Speaker 2: I'm so bad at this and I just want to
- 13:27Speaker 2: get it over with. And uh I legitimately that was
- 13:31Speaker 2: in November. Haven't heard a word from him since. But also,
- 13:33Speaker 2: we have this big mice problem and he's like refusing
- 13:35Speaker 2: to do anything about it. So part of me wonders
- 13:37Speaker 2: if he's like being like leanient about that because he
- 13:40Speaker 2: knows that he's fucking us and that like, no, what
- 13:42Speaker 2: people are people are moving out of the apartment. Oh,
- 13:45Speaker 2: lots of people like just like abandoning it because they're like,
- 13:48Speaker 2: this is fucking insane.
- 13:49Speaker 5: How many mice there are?
- 13:50Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 13:50Speaker 5: How many are there?
- 13:51Speaker 2: I mean we were in our apartment on the middle
- 13:54Speaker 2: of the middle of the day. One just ran right there.
- 13:57Speaker 5: When you were over there, you saw mice. Yeah, every time.
- 14:00Speaker 2: M hm he hit mooke, Yeah, hit mouke in.
- 14:03Speaker 5: The but you see a bunch of them.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Yeah, and do the apartment's not dirty, the apartment is.
- 14:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:09Speaker 2: And we've had We've told him like a hundred times,
- 14:11Speaker 2: we've had like the exter he sends over the exterminator,
- 14:14Speaker 2: it's just a supers, just some dude. He comes over
- 14:17Speaker 2: and like moves a bunch of shit around and then
- 14:19Speaker 2: it's like, well, there's dust behind the stove. Why do
- 14:21Speaker 2: you think you have mice? And then that's it. And
- 14:24Speaker 2: then we're like, yeah, dude, that he left ten minutes ago,
- 14:27Speaker 2: we just saw three mice run through the kitchen. And
- 14:29Speaker 2: he's like, all right, we're gonna send someone over again tomorrow.
- 14:33Speaker 2: And they come and they just don't do anything. And
- 14:34Speaker 2: then it's like, so, now since that's happened, he has
- 14:37Speaker 2: been very He went radio silent. So I think he
- 14:39Speaker 2: knows that he's fucking us because we asked to move out.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I was like, hey, dude, the mice problem is out
- 14:45Speaker 2: of control. We pretty much can't well no, I was like,
- 14:48Speaker 2: I was like, dude, we can't go We can't go
- 14:50Speaker 2: in our living room. It's your whole building. Yeah, but
- 14:53Speaker 2: it's like so like we're like, I don't leave my
- 14:55Speaker 2: room because my room I have like a draft guards.
- 14:59Speaker 2: The mice can't get in. It's like sealed off completely.
- 15:02Speaker 5: Do you walk into your bedroom like like as though
- 15:05Speaker 5: you're not letting a cat out?
- 15:08Speaker 2: But I never I never go to the bathroom anything
- 15:11Speaker 2: and leave my door open. And if I do, if
- 15:13Speaker 2: I if, I'm like I'll be like taking a piss
- 15:16Speaker 2: and I'll be like, fuck, did I close my door?
- 15:17Speaker 2: And I'll cut the piss off and go back and
- 15:19Speaker 2: close the door and then go back to the bathroom
- 15:21Speaker 2: because dude, I've woken up in the middle of the
- 15:23Speaker 2: night to mice my in my room. Oh and that's
- 15:26Speaker 2: not a feeling that I've ever I ever want to
- 15:28Speaker 2: experience again. So like, do we don't have like we
- 15:31Speaker 2: we moved where our trashes, like we don't have a room.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Our apartment is clean as fuck, and we still have
- 15:39Speaker 2: so much mice.
- 15:41Speaker 5: Shoot, you know what, why don't you get a cat?
- 15:45Speaker 2: I don't want to get a cat, dude. We're all
- 15:46Speaker 2: moving away from each other. Yeah, we're not living together anymore.
- 15:51Speaker 2: A snake, Yeah, that would be way worse. But I'd
- 15:56Speaker 2: rather have mice. I'd rather have mice than have a
- 15:58Speaker 2: snake slithering or the apartment. But yeah, it sucks. But
- 16:06Speaker 2: uh so, I think I'm just gonna get out of
- 16:07Speaker 2: there at the end of this month.
- 16:09Speaker 5: Break your lease.
- 16:10Speaker 2: No, I mean our lease is up in May first.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Oh you just I think I'm gonna bail a month early.
- 16:15Speaker 5: Just pay it. Yeah, that's not a fun situation.
- 16:20Speaker 2: I mean, we've been we just fucked up. Like we've
- 16:22Speaker 2: been there. We're gonna be there for sixteen months, uh huh,
- 16:26Speaker 2: which we should have just signed a year. But it
- 16:28Speaker 2: was like we were like, holy shit, we're in West Village,
- 16:32Speaker 2: Like this is because we were in Hell's Kitchen before,
- 16:34Speaker 2: so we're like this is fucking nuts, Like let's stay
- 16:36Speaker 2: here for as long as we can. Yeah, And it
- 16:38Speaker 2: wasn't even bad, like it was pretty like, I mean,
- 16:40Speaker 2: I still love the area. It's just like it didn't
- 16:43Speaker 2: get bad like the mice problem wasn't even until like
- 16:45Speaker 2: probably September November. Yeah, it took over and then it
- 16:50Speaker 2: went away, and then they went away for a while,
- 16:52Speaker 2: and then they came back harder than ever they fully invaded.
- 16:57Speaker 2: But it's like, so I, So I sent the landlord
- 16:58Speaker 2: an email and I was like, hey, dude, uh, we
- 17:01Speaker 2: can't use almost all of our apartment because unless you
- 17:04Speaker 2: want mice running around your feet blah blah blah. I
- 17:07Speaker 2: was like, okay, is there any chance we could break
- 17:09Speaker 2: the lease and get out of here early? And he
- 17:11Speaker 2: was like unfortunately no. I was like, what do you
- 17:14Speaker 2: mean unfortunately, No, you make the rule. Don't try and
- 17:17Speaker 2: act like you're upset about it too. It's like you
- 17:19Speaker 2: could easily just be like yeah, sure, yeah, it's not
- 17:22Speaker 2: like like he owns the he owns the building.
- 17:24Speaker 5: Mm hmmm. I think he means unfortunately for you.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Yeah, he should have said that, m hm. And then
- 17:30Speaker 2: he uh. And then Owen my roommate who you know?
- 17:35Speaker 2: He uh. He sent him an email and was like.
- 17:39Speaker 2: This was after the extreminator came again, and he was like, dude,
- 17:42Speaker 2: this is insane, Like the mice problems out of control.
- 17:45Speaker 2: He's like, you guys need to do something about this,
- 17:47Speaker 2: Like it's like not okay. And then he called him
- 17:49Speaker 2: and he was like, my mother's in the hospital, like
- 17:52Speaker 2: the landlord and he was like, dude, that doesn't have
- 17:55Speaker 2: anything to do with the fucking mice. The mice in
- 17:57Speaker 2: our apartment.
- 17:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Also, yeah, you're he's not in the hospital. He's like ninety,
- 18:01Speaker 2: but your mom has been dead for eighty years. Like seriously,
- 18:07Speaker 2: it's like it's like an old like West Village dude.
- 18:10Speaker 2: You know, it's like your mom is not alive.
- 18:13Speaker 5: It's so funny. I'm thinking now I've lived I'm thirty three.
- 18:18Speaker 5: I've lived in New York since I was twenty two,
- 18:20Speaker 5: and in those eleven years, I think I've lived in
- 18:23Speaker 5: eight different apartments, So it's pretty good a lot of
- 18:26Speaker 5: times i've.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Lived in This is my third apartment. I've only been
- 18:28Speaker 2: here for I guess that's on track to be the same.
- 18:30Speaker 5: Yeah, and I've had I've had a lot of interesting experiences.
- 18:37Speaker 5: I've had some really bad experiences. The worst experience I
- 18:40Speaker 5: had I was in my old apartment when I lived
- 18:43Speaker 5: in Chelsea. Yeah, and it was on the it was
- 18:47Speaker 5: a garden apartment. So it was on the like the
- 18:50Speaker 5: ground floor, and the bedroom was you know, there was
- 18:54Speaker 5: a glass door out into this little garden area and
- 18:58Speaker 5: there was no insulation. Yeah, and the heating didn't work
- 19:03Speaker 5: really that well. And so in the winter when it
- 19:07Speaker 5: got cold, I mean, my room would be I'd be
- 19:09Speaker 5: sleeping and it would be fifty two degrees.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fucking insane.
- 19:12Speaker 5: Fifty two you could see your breath.
- 19:14Speaker 2: That's fucking nuts.
- 19:15Speaker 5: And I mean there was there was no amount of blankets. Yeah.
- 19:19Speaker 5: You know, it's sort of like when you go try
- 19:21Speaker 5: to summ at Everest and you just accept that when
- 19:25Speaker 5: you're sleeping in Camp three, Yeah, you're gonna be cold.
- 19:29Speaker 5: It's not gonna you know, you're you're not gonna be
- 19:31Speaker 5: warm sleeping. But it was New York City, Chelsea. That's
- 19:35Speaker 5: an expensive neighbor yeah, nepaal Yeah, So I brought it
- 19:45Speaker 5: up so many times. They would buy me a twenty
- 19:48Speaker 5: dollars space heater and send that. That didn't really help
- 19:51Speaker 5: that much.
- 19:53Speaker 2: Those are dangerous to right, sure, Yeah, just explode.
- 19:56Speaker 5: They also, Yeah, and people leave them on and they
- 20:00Speaker 5: down you know, tenement housing, I think, and uh, finally,
- 20:06Speaker 5: you know, we one night I had to go sleep
- 20:08Speaker 5: in a hotel because it was so cold, you did.
- 20:12Speaker 2: I did that when the mice first came.
- 20:14Speaker 5: That's kind of a treat though. It was awesome when
- 20:16Speaker 5: you go sleep in a hotel live in your own home.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I've actually do that twice.
- 20:21Speaker 5: It kind of makes me feel like divorce would be okay. Yeah.
- 20:23Speaker 2: I had to do that when I was living in
- 20:26Speaker 2: East Village and both my roommates were out of town
- 20:30Speaker 2: and I came back from Massachusetts and I forgot my keys,
- 20:32Speaker 2: left them at home and I called my landlord and
- 20:35Speaker 2: I was like, hey, man, I can't get into my apartment.
- 20:36Speaker 2: It was like noon, and he's like, sorry, man, I
- 20:38Speaker 2: got a dentist appointment today.
- 20:40Speaker 5: Wow.
- 20:40Speaker 2: I was like, all right, well, what about the fucking
- 20:42Speaker 2: ten hours when you don't have a dentist appointment? Yeah,
- 20:45Speaker 2: let me into my house.
- 20:46Speaker 5: That's crazy.
- 20:46Speaker 2: So I had to get a hotel.
- 20:48Speaker 5: Where did you go? Remember what hotel it was?
- 20:51Speaker 2: You do, It's like a nice ass hotel, but it
- 20:53Speaker 2: was like in the height of COVID. It was actually
- 20:55Speaker 2: I remember being like super eerie because there was I
- 20:58Speaker 2: was the only person there, and I remember walking down
- 21:00Speaker 2: this long asshole and it's just complete silence.
- 21:03Speaker 5: Spooky.
- 21:04Speaker 2: Yeah, but it was nice.
- 21:06Speaker 5: Man. You never stay in hotels in New York City,
- 21:09Speaker 5: but when you do, it's kind of a treat. It's
- 21:14Speaker 5: they're not that bad. Some are okay, some are not
- 21:16Speaker 5: so bad.
- 21:17Speaker 2: They're definitely not like other places when you go to hotels,
- 21:20Speaker 2: they're much different.
- 21:21Speaker 5: One time I was dating a girl for a long
- 21:24Speaker 5: long time and we lived together, and it's just her wife. No, no, no,
- 21:32Speaker 5: But it's funny to say. One time I was dating
- 21:36Speaker 5: a girl for a really long long time and we
- 21:38Speaker 5: lived together once upon a time in my life, the
- 21:42Speaker 5: most significant relationship other than the one I'm currently in,
- 21:45Speaker 5: which is a marriage. Anyway, we broke up and she
- 21:50Speaker 5: was you know, she like laughed, but had hadn't moved
- 21:55Speaker 5: out completely, and so we had a bunch of you know,
- 21:58Speaker 5: pictures and stuff up of us, and she I think
- 22:02Speaker 5: she was going she was moving to another state, and
- 22:07Speaker 5: so there it was all still in there. And I
- 22:10Speaker 5: was single then. And then I had a girl that
- 22:13Speaker 5: I met who I wanted to hang out with, but
- 22:16Speaker 5: I couldn't bring her over to my home because.
- 22:20Speaker 2: There's pictures everywhere.
- 22:21Speaker 5: It just looked like a Shrine his girlfriend, and so
- 22:25Speaker 5: I got us a hotel room and she was like, what,
- 22:29Speaker 5: that's weird. You know, it's tough to explain to a
- 22:33Speaker 5: girl you've met at a bar or whatever where you're
- 22:35Speaker 5: like yeah, she's like where do you live? And you're like,
- 22:38Speaker 5: I live in Brooklyn. Yeah, and she's like cool. And
- 22:41Speaker 5: then hours later she's like, you want to get out
- 22:43Speaker 5: of here? And you're like, hold on, let me check
- 22:44Speaker 5: hotels tonight.
- 22:46Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's.
- 22:48Speaker 5: She's like, she's like, what do you mean why can't
- 22:50Speaker 5: we go the fifteen minutes home to your apartment? And
- 22:55Speaker 5: you're like, ah, this is a mice problem. Yeah.
- 22:58Speaker 2: Yeah, that's not a bad idea either.
- 23:00Speaker 5: Trust me, you don't want to go Yeah yeah, that's uh,
- 23:05Speaker 5: that was a fun night. But then yeah then you, uh,
- 23:08Speaker 5: hotels are fun.
- 23:10Speaker 6: I'm not going back to college to be your friend.
- 23:12Speaker 6: I'm going so I can get Uber one for students.
- 23:15Speaker 6: It saves you on Uber and Uber eats. I'm there
- 23:17Speaker 6: for zero dollar delivery fee on cheeseburgers, up to ten
- 23:20Speaker 6: percent off smoothies, and six percent Uber credits back on rides.
- 23:24Speaker 6: Just to be clear, I'm there for savings, not whatever
- 23:27Speaker 6: you think college is for.
- 23:29Speaker 2: Get Uber one for students a membership to save on
- 23:32Speaker 2: Uber and Uber eats. What deals this good?
- 23:34Speaker 3: Everyone wants to be a student joined for just four
- 23:36Speaker 3: ninety nine a month.
- 23:37Speaker 5: Savings may very eligibility and member terms apply.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Yeah, they're not bad, except I don't know. I'm kind
- 23:42Speaker 2: of ober hotels right now.
- 23:43Speaker 5: When you're on the road and you're in a hotel,
- 23:46Speaker 5: do you just destroy the hotel room?
- 23:49Speaker 2: Dude? I I it goes from it's actually like I'm like,
- 23:54Speaker 2: I wouldn't say like I can keep my room clean,
- 23:57Speaker 2: Like I have to keep my room clean right because
- 23:59Speaker 2: it's so small because there's mice, so I can't let
- 24:03Speaker 2: it get dirty. But dude, the pace that I'm able
- 24:08Speaker 2: to make the room just like a bomb went off
- 24:11Speaker 2: in there is like I feel like someone might want
- 24:15Speaker 2: to do like studies at Like within within five minutes,
- 24:21Speaker 2: there's like underwear across the room and I don't even
- 24:25Speaker 2: know how it got there. All bets are off.
- 24:28Speaker 5: You're just using full towels to wipe off your stomach
- 24:33Speaker 5: and then you're looking at that on the floor and
- 24:35Speaker 5: you're like, oh, which one's clean? I need to shower again?
- 24:40Speaker 2: Like I when I The worst is when I'm checking
- 24:42Speaker 2: out and i gotta like walk all around my room
- 24:45Speaker 2: and I'm like finding like shirts like tucked away in
- 24:49Speaker 2: like corners, and I'm like, I don't even know what
- 24:51Speaker 2: this is doing over here. It's like you go in
- 24:54Speaker 2: and you just start throwing things all over.
- 24:56Speaker 5: The ye it's actually so you had a tempered Yeah,
- 25:01Speaker 5: it's like the more space they give me like the worse.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Yeah, Like, have you ever been like I got like
- 25:07Speaker 2: an I got like upgraded. When we went to Plano,
- 25:12Speaker 2: the dude was like a fan.
- 25:13Speaker 5: Oh that's sick. Yeah, it was really cool at the hotel. Yeah,
- 25:18Speaker 5: that's cool, and I'm going there. I'm going there soon,
- 25:21Speaker 5: So I hope that that happens.
- 25:22Speaker 2: I bett you will be And I think he's like
- 25:24Speaker 2: a big barstool fan.
- 25:25Speaker 5: Hey, if you're listening to this, Yeah, dude at the
- 25:29Speaker 5: plane Out hotel, I'm coming in April. I hope that
- 25:33Speaker 5: you give me an upgrade.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Planet is not bad?
- 25:37Speaker 5: Is it not bad? Bad? Okay, it's a.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Fun little area. Oh, there's actually a pool hall or
- 25:43Speaker 2: pool bar literally next to the club right across the street.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Turned into a very black bar at night. Oh. I
- 25:51Speaker 2: think we were the only white people there. I've been
- 25:53Speaker 2: there a couple of games.
- 25:54Speaker 5: In I like the sound of that.
- 25:57Speaker 2: It's actually a fun ass night.
- 25:59Speaker 5: I like those nights. Yeah, where you just say, oh
- 26:03Speaker 5: my gosh, I'm the only white guy.
- 26:04Speaker 2: Yeah, it was fun.
- 26:05Speaker 5: That's fun.
- 26:07Speaker 2: But yeah, it's a nice bar right across the street.
- 26:10Speaker 2: We would play pool there for hours before the show.
- 26:12Speaker 5: You and Mooke? Yeah, how's Mooke at pool?
- 26:15Speaker 2: He's not bad?
- 26:16Speaker 5: Are you guys? Pretty level?
- 26:18Speaker 2: No, I'm way better than him. You are way better.
- 26:21Speaker 5: Let's say you guys played ten games, what would the
- 26:23Speaker 5: score be.
- 26:24Speaker 2: It'd probably be like nine to one.
- 26:26Speaker 5: Oh that bad.
- 26:27Speaker 2: Yeah. If I'm like, if I'm trying and I'm on,
- 26:30Speaker 2: then yes. If I'm like kind of like I don't
- 26:34Speaker 2: feel like doing this, I don't want to do this
- 26:35Speaker 2: show tonight, then it's more like even I see or
- 26:39Speaker 2: if I have a little bit of a tummy ache,
- 26:41Speaker 2: My goal this weekend is to just not get a
- 26:43Speaker 2: stomach ache. And I think that's going to require me
- 26:48Speaker 2: having like three beers Max.
- 26:51Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, because.
- 26:52Speaker 2: I just can't, like it's becoming so unsustainable and so miserable,
- 26:56Speaker 2: like waking up on the road over look into your right,
- 27:03Speaker 2: A big ass whopper box next to you.
- 27:06Speaker 5: Oh, you're eating.
- 27:09Speaker 2: A big Gulf Diet coke?
- 27:10Speaker 5: Are you really? You're eating whoppers?
- 27:13Speaker 2: Like yes and no. I'm usually pretty good about it,
- 27:15Speaker 2: but then there'll be one night where we just break
- 27:18Speaker 2: and I just buy. I think I buy out burger
- 27:20Speaker 2: cane for the night.
- 27:21Speaker 5: Do you remember? Do you remember when we went to
- 27:23Speaker 5: Saint Louis. Yeah, and the only thing that we would
- 27:26Speaker 5: have at night was the stuff from the vending machine.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I still have the.
- 27:31Speaker 5: Video of you selecting your things.
- 27:32Speaker 2: I don't I don't know if I've ever seen it.
- 27:34Speaker 5: It's fun.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Yeah, I just remember. I think I went back to
- 27:37Speaker 2: the vending machine. Yeah, like when we went, I went
- 27:40Speaker 2: back to my went to my room, and then I
- 27:41Speaker 2: went back to the vending machine.
- 27:42Speaker 5: Why did you do that?
- 27:43Speaker 2: I wanted more? Oh I wasn't satisfied.
- 27:45Speaker 5: But you were buying trail mix and stuff, right. I
- 27:48Speaker 5: probably bought the trail mix for you as a as
- 27:50Speaker 5: a little show, did you?
- 27:51Speaker 2: And I went back and I got.
- 27:52Speaker 5: The you don't have to worry about me.
- 27:55Speaker 2: The Swedish fish and the doritos.
- 27:57Speaker 5: No, I didn't.
- 27:59Speaker 2: I wasn't going to trail mix. What do you want, Francis, Yeah,
- 28:05Speaker 2: a bottle of.
- 28:09Speaker 5: Do they have any of those queen walks, any of
- 28:12Speaker 5: those alternative crisp things? Oh? Man, I uh that's good man. Well,
- 28:20Speaker 5: you know, it's been fun. I like going on the
- 28:21Speaker 5: road with you, and you and I have bonded over
- 28:23Speaker 5: pool ourselves. Yeah, you're the only person with whom I
- 28:27Speaker 5: played Pool.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I've I've cut back on that as well a
- 28:30Speaker 2: little bit. But I'm pumped to uh go back on
- 28:33Speaker 2: the road to play some pool, pumped to go to Cobbs.
- 28:36Speaker 2: It's gonna be fun as fun.
- 28:37Speaker 5: Hell. Yeah, what do you think our lifetime record is
- 28:39Speaker 5: in Pool versus me?
- 28:43Speaker 2: I mean just from Saint Louis alone, we played for
- 28:46Speaker 2: like nine hours.
- 28:47Speaker 5: Yeah, we played a lot of hours of full in
- 28:49Speaker 5: Saint Louis.
- 28:51Speaker 2: But that's also because there was just there's literally nothing
- 28:53Speaker 2: else to do. That bar was crazy too, Yeah, it was.
- 28:58Speaker 2: We pulled up to this like that didn't even look
- 29:01Speaker 2: like it was open. It was like under construction, and
- 29:04Speaker 2: we walked in and there's just like a couple like
- 29:06Speaker 2: ladies sitting there just getting shit faced. Yeah, and it's
- 29:10Speaker 2: like it had to have been one PM at Best. Yeah. Yeah,
- 29:15Speaker 2: and they're like, we've seen Davia Tel before. Yeah, is
- 29:18Speaker 2: Dave with you?
- 29:19Speaker 5: Guys? Is that who it was?
- 29:21Speaker 2: They say? They all everywhere you go, everyone's like, oh,
- 29:23Speaker 2: we've seen David Tel before. Okay, but they did say
- 29:26Speaker 2: David Tel.
- 29:26Speaker 5: Yeah. They were all so excited that we were there.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Yeah, you know who I get a lot? Is I
- 29:31Speaker 2: get David Tel? And then I get do I get
- 29:33Speaker 2: Michael Rapaport.
- 29:35Speaker 5: All the time people say they've gone to see him.
- 29:37Speaker 2: They all see they've gone to see him. And then
- 29:38Speaker 2: all the staff at every club like, oh Michael Rappaport
- 29:41Speaker 2: was just here. He's such a sweetheart.
- 29:43Speaker 5: Oh wow, angel nice.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Yeah, all every club I go to.
- 29:47Speaker 5: That's interesting. Yeah, everybody at Barstool has had a very
- 29:50Speaker 5: different experience.
- 29:51Speaker 2: I know, and I don't know anything about him. I
- 29:53Speaker 2: just know that Dave fired him.
- 29:55Speaker 5: Yep.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Well he and I got common Oh yeah, did you
- 30:01Speaker 2: guys did you ever were you here when he was here?
- 30:03Speaker 5: Yes?
- 30:03Speaker 2: I was, Did you guys ever talk?
- 30:05Speaker 5: He told me to come fight him?
- 30:07Speaker 2: Oh nice?
- 30:09Speaker 5: On Twitter? He said meet me here, We're going to fight.
- 30:14Speaker 5: And I didn't go because my life didn't. I wasn't upset.
- 30:19Speaker 2: What was he trying to fight for?
- 30:21Speaker 1: Uh?
- 30:21Speaker 5: Well, I think for some reason he was mad at Donnie,
- 30:28Speaker 5: and I think Donnie had said something, and then he
- 30:31Speaker 5: got mad at Donnie and was telling Donnie some negative things.
- 30:36Speaker 5: And then I told I came in and I said,
- 30:39Speaker 5: Donnie works at the company with us, he's our coworker.
- 30:42Speaker 5: And then he said, why don't you come fight me?
- 30:46Speaker 5: Something like that. He's very defensive and.
- 30:49Speaker 2: People love to threaten physical altercation when it's like no
- 30:52Speaker 2: one wants Why would you want that?
- 30:55Speaker 5: I think that it's easy to do on the internet.
- 30:58Speaker 5: And then if you actually they were to do that
- 31:01Speaker 5: in the streets, people are much more Oh whoa, I
- 31:06Speaker 5: didn't mean anything by that. Yeah.
- 31:08Speaker 2: I don't want to have to go to work to
- 31:09Speaker 2: want to explain why I have a fucking busted eye. Right, Yeah,
- 31:13Speaker 2: I wouldn't want to get in a fight.
- 31:15Speaker 5: What have you ever hurt yourself?
- 31:17Speaker 2: Have they ever hurt myself?
- 31:18Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 31:18Speaker 2: We ever gotten really hurt? I broke my arm?
- 31:20Speaker 5: How'd that happen?
- 31:21Speaker 2: Almost got decapitated? What? Yeah?
- 31:24Speaker 5: Start with the arm hold.
- 31:25Speaker 2: It's actually a stretch.
- 31:26Speaker 5: I want to hear that though, But how'd you break
- 31:29Speaker 5: your arm?
- 31:30Speaker 2: I was in fifth grade. It was my second day.
- 31:33Speaker 2: I went to private school for one year because my
- 31:35Speaker 2: parents thought I had something wrong with me, and I
- 31:41Speaker 2: I just didn't want to do my homework. And I
- 31:43Speaker 2: was also like nine. Yeah, it was my first day
- 31:47Speaker 2: at school or second day at school. And I had
- 31:51Speaker 2: a lunch box that had a long strap, and I
- 31:55Speaker 2: was running trying to catch up to this kid who
- 31:58Speaker 2: was in the same next class as that. I didn't
- 32:00Speaker 2: know where it was, and I tripped over my lunch
- 32:03Speaker 2: box and I flew through the air and I landed
- 32:06Speaker 2: on my arm and it broke. I squee squealed around
- 32:11Speaker 2: on the floor until the nurse came.
- 32:13Speaker 5: Was it where in here here or here? Uh here
- 32:17Speaker 5: down here? Yeah, so you're radius.
- 32:21Speaker 2: I don't know what it's called, but it broke big time.
- 32:24Speaker 5: Golly. Was it through the skin compound fracture?
- 32:28Speaker 2: No, but it was What is that called it when
- 32:32Speaker 2: it goes through the skin compound compound? What is it
- 32:34Speaker 2: when it breaks in two places?
- 32:37Speaker 5: I'm not sure.
- 32:38Speaker 2: I don't know. It broke in multiple places and then
- 32:40Speaker 2: and then they had to rebreak it put it back
- 32:42Speaker 2: in place.
- 32:44Speaker 5: Do you have lasting pain or issues as a result of.
- 32:47Speaker 2: That no, not at all. I mean I I remember
- 32:50Speaker 2: I didn't cry. For starters, pretty squealed, which is a
- 32:55Speaker 2: lot worse, but I didn't cry. And then they reb
- 33:00Speaker 2: ok it. I didn't cry either. I do remember the
- 33:02Speaker 2: most painful part of the entire thing was they were
- 33:04Speaker 2: injecting me with like a numbing thing and they had
- 33:07Speaker 2: to put it in the bone. Oh, and I was
- 33:11Speaker 2: getting an X ray and I could see the needle
- 33:14Speaker 2: getting closer and closer to the bone. It was like
- 33:16Speaker 2: a live X ray. And when it hit the bone,
- 33:20Speaker 2: I remember that that was probably the most pain I've
- 33:22Speaker 2: ever been in. Yeah. Still didn't cry though, probably because
- 33:27Speaker 2: I was probably on a shit ton of drugs. Yeah,
- 33:30Speaker 2: And then I remember they were like, Okay, it's not
- 33:32Speaker 2: gonna hurt now for another couple hours. So they were like,
- 33:35Speaker 2: but make sure you keep it in the slang and
- 33:36Speaker 2: you don't like throw it around. And I was like
- 33:40Speaker 2: I remember walking out of the walking out of the hospital,
- 33:42Speaker 2: just like fucking car McGregor walking out of there being like, yeah,
- 33:46Speaker 2: this wasn't hurt at all, Like what the fuck are
- 33:48Speaker 2: they talking about? And then like I think, I think
- 33:50Speaker 2: I cried when I got home. I remember when I
- 33:54Speaker 2: got home. It hurts so fucking much. I remember I
- 33:58Speaker 2: was trying to play video games and I couldn't cause it
- 33:59Speaker 2: hurt too much.
- 34:00Speaker 5: They were did they have they didn't have you in
- 34:02Speaker 5: a cast?
- 34:03Speaker 2: No, I was in a cast.
- 34:05Speaker 5: Oh yeah, oh in a sling. Yeah, I see. Okay,
- 34:10Speaker 5: you got to almost got decapitated.
- 34:12Speaker 2: So this was actually the same year probably, or it
- 34:15Speaker 2: might have been a year after, and I was that
- 34:19Speaker 2: was along. That was a stretch. I think almost getting decapitated.
- 34:23Speaker 2: You would have to have gotten to classifize that. I
- 34:25Speaker 2: think like half of it would have been open. But
- 34:29Speaker 2: I was biking, and uh there was this like path
- 34:34Speaker 2: that would lead to the parking lot of our high
- 34:36Speaker 2: school through the woods, and there would always be traffic.
- 34:40Speaker 2: So the high schoolers they would go through that path
- 34:42Speaker 2: with their cars. They wouldn't have to wait in the line.
- 34:44Speaker 2: And it became like a big thing in the town.
- 34:46Speaker 2: Put up these like metal wires, oh to walk it
- 34:49Speaker 2: off so that cars couldn't get through there. Yeah, And
- 34:52Speaker 2: I was biking down the street super fast and I
- 34:55Speaker 2: didn't see the wire and just fucking clotheslined from like
- 34:59Speaker 2: a thin metal wire. Oh, and I literally took me
- 35:02Speaker 2: off my bike and like I had like a dash
- 35:06Speaker 2: like all along my neck. And I remember I went,
- 35:10Speaker 2: I was sleeping over at this kid's house that night,
- 35:12Speaker 2: like hanging out, and I remember I my mom came
- 35:17Speaker 2: to pick me up and like her his I don't know,
- 35:20Speaker 2: he had a little bit of an odd family. Oh,
- 35:23Speaker 2: and I remember they had drugs and everything.
- 35:26Speaker 5: Oh, and that's not really odd so much it is criminal.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but I remember my mom came and pick
- 35:32Speaker 2: me up the next morning.
- 35:33Speaker 5: Why was she letting you sleep over there?
- 35:36Speaker 2: I don't think she knew. Oh, I don't think I knew.
- 35:39Speaker 5: How did you know at that age that they all
- 35:40Speaker 5: had drugs?
- 35:42Speaker 2: I don't think I did.
- 35:43Speaker 5: But then, how do you know?
- 35:44Speaker 2: I remember my mom told me I was not to
- 35:46Speaker 2: go over there anymore, and I was like, why.
- 35:47Speaker 5: Not, And she said she'd seen the drugs. No, but
- 35:50Speaker 5: I grew up with the kid after that and he said,
- 35:53Speaker 5: my family has drugs.
- 35:55Speaker 4: No.
- 35:55Speaker 2: I just know, I just knew his family. I wasn't
- 35:58Speaker 2: like good friends with him after that, but I just like,
- 36:01Speaker 2: it's you know.
- 36:02Speaker 5: They were a family of drugs.
- 36:04Speaker 2: They all were doing drugs.
- 36:06Speaker 5: They were doing them.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Yeah, they weren't like selling drugs.
- 36:08Speaker 5: Oh, I thought it was like a family business. No, no, no, Um,
- 36:14Speaker 5: that's crazy that they were all minding drugs together.
- 36:17Speaker 2: I don't, I don't know. The drugs part is not
- 36:19Speaker 2: the biggest detail of the story.
- 36:20Speaker 5: I got excited about that. You, by the way, you
- 36:23Speaker 5: don't get to tell me what I can like, Like.
- 36:26Speaker 2: The most relevant part of the story was that my
- 36:28Speaker 2: mom didn't want me to hang out with some kid
- 36:29Speaker 2: when I was like ten.
- 36:30Speaker 5: Am I wrong in thinking that, like you'd be sleeping
- 36:33Speaker 5: over at a drug den?
- 36:35Speaker 2: It was in a drug den. It was like the
- 36:37Speaker 2: most normal sleepover of all time. The bad part was
- 36:40Speaker 2: that when I when my mom came to pick me
- 36:42Speaker 2: up the next morning, I walked out of the house
- 36:43Speaker 2: and there was fucking like a three centimeter gash going through.
- 36:47Speaker 5: My entire neck. And like the dude's dad never or
- 36:51Speaker 5: parents never even told my mom because they were high. Yeah,
- 36:53Speaker 5: and she just picks me up like that and I
- 36:55Speaker 5: had like a fucking like like a fucking scab like
- 36:59Speaker 5: slice over my entire neck. Was like, what the fuck
- 37:03Speaker 5: does that? How she did she find out then about
- 37:06Speaker 5: the drugs?
- 37:07Speaker 2: No, I don't know how she found out about the drugs.
- 37:09Speaker 5: I could ask her, do you think when the kid's
- 37:12Speaker 5: dad came out to hand you?
- 37:14Speaker 6: Oh?
- 37:14Speaker 2: Actually I do remember, yes, when my mom came and
- 37:19Speaker 2: pick me up at like ten am and the kid's
- 37:23Speaker 2: dad had like his breath like reeked of booze or something.
- 37:26Speaker 5: Oh, but then she might have only thought that they
- 37:28Speaker 5: were a big drinking family, not drugs.
- 37:30Speaker 2: There was something with drugs. I don't know. He had
- 37:33Speaker 2: like older siblings who were like getting arrested and stuff.
- 37:38Speaker 5: For trafficking drugs from the house.
- 37:41Speaker 2: No, no, for like possession of drugs, just possessing. They
- 37:45Speaker 2: weren't drug dealers. Why did you like they probably were
- 37:48Speaker 2: drug dealers?
- 37:49Speaker 5: Why'd you like this?
- 37:49Speaker 2: Kid?
- 37:50Speaker 7: Golf season is in full swing and getting out there
- 37:53Speaker 7: to work on your game is bound to make any
- 37:55Speaker 7: day even better. And if you're looking to improve your drive,
- 37:59Speaker 7: Chevy equin Evy is the smartest choice you can make.
- 38:03Speaker 7: Bold athletic styling, a commanding presence, award winning tech, an
- 38:07Speaker 7: impressive range, all with an affordable MSRP. Chevy Equinox ev
- 38:12Speaker 7: will put a smile on your face no matter how
- 38:14Speaker 7: your scorecard shakes out.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Dude, I was in fourth grade. He was in like
- 38:19Speaker 2: two he was in my class. He just didn't really
- 38:21Speaker 2: have to be paired up with people at that age. Yeah,
- 38:23Speaker 2: you didn't, couldn't discern No, mmm, And I think I
- 38:27Speaker 2: remember liking him because we would go over to his
- 38:29Speaker 2: house and there would be no.
- 38:30Speaker 5: Rules because their parents were shit out.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Yeah, you'd go over and you'd just fucking go on
- 38:38Speaker 2: the roof of the house and like shoot bb guns
- 38:41Speaker 2: and stuff.
- 38:41Speaker 5: Yeah. I knew. I knew those like fire works off,
- 38:43Speaker 5: I knew those kinds of kids. That was crazy, those
- 38:47Speaker 5: kids when because it's a well to do kid, you
- 38:50Speaker 5: always thought, oh my god, what, I'm so fun not
- 38:53Speaker 5: to have rules. Yeah, But then at the same time
- 38:55Speaker 5: you had that crisis of conscience where you said, ooh,
- 38:59Speaker 5: I maybe what my parents said all along was meant
- 39:02Speaker 5: to protect me. Yeah. And therefore the fact that we're
- 39:05Speaker 5: now mixing five different types of lighter fluid in this
- 39:09Speaker 5: trash can we found, we don't know what's going to happen.
- 39:14Speaker 5: I'm going to stand farther back than the other kids,
- 39:19Speaker 5: and then maybe this will be the last time I
- 39:21Speaker 5: hang out with them.
- 39:22Speaker 2: No, I don't think I was. I think I remember
- 39:24Speaker 2: being really mad that I was not to hang out
- 39:26Speaker 2: with that kid anymore. But then we got older and
- 39:29Speaker 2: we weren't friends anymore.
- 39:31Speaker 5: What's up? What's he up to now? No idea, I
- 39:33Speaker 5: haven't haven Did he fall, did he fall apart? He
- 39:36Speaker 5: dropped out of high school? Yeah, we haven't talked, but.
- 39:38Speaker 2: I remember like we were like still really good friends,
- 39:42Speaker 2: like school friends. We had like a bunch of classes together.
- 39:45Speaker 5: When everybody got to an age where drinking and doing
- 39:48Speaker 5: drugs was cool, did that kid kind of hit a
- 39:52Speaker 5: cool zone because everyone?
- 39:54Speaker 2: No, I think he was already in pretty deep at
- 39:57Speaker 2: that point. Oh that it like wasn't cool. Oh he
- 40:01Speaker 2: There were kids like that too, though, that like when
- 40:03Speaker 2: everyone started drinking and then they'd just go, they'd really
- 40:07Speaker 2: dive in and they'd be like drinking in school and shit,
- 40:10Speaker 2: and you'd.
- 40:10Speaker 5: Be like, oh, maybe don't do that. You knew kids
- 40:13Speaker 5: that would drink before school? Yeah, did you?
- 40:16Speaker 4: No?
- 40:17Speaker 5: Never, No, No, I never ever did anything like that.
- 40:20Speaker 5: I would have been way too scared.
- 40:22Speaker 2: I'm trying to think if I did ever, like senior
- 40:24Speaker 2: year before like a half day or something, But I
- 40:25Speaker 2: don't think I did.
- 40:26Speaker 5: I wasn't so bored of school that I needed to
- 40:28Speaker 5: be fucked up. For it.
- 40:30Speaker 2: School was hard. I think I remember we were like
- 40:33Speaker 2: gonna do that once for like during like like one
- 40:37Speaker 2: of our last days of school. We were gonna get
- 40:39Speaker 2: like fucked up before school. And then I think we
- 40:41Speaker 2: were like, no, that we have to get to school
- 40:44Speaker 2: by seven am. That's fucking terrible.
- 40:47Speaker 5: Yeah, there were kids. I mean, I just I can't think,
- 40:51Speaker 5: like think now knowing what you know about drinking, right, Yeah, but.
- 40:55Speaker 2: It's also different than because you don't there's no there's
- 40:57Speaker 2: literally no negative effects of drinking when you're that young.
- 41:01Speaker 5: Okay, but this is my point, like there's nothing. Imagine
- 41:04Speaker 5: if someone said to you, hey, dude, how's your Saturday looking,
- 41:08Speaker 5: and you said it's pretty free, and I said, great,
- 41:11Speaker 5: I have a really fun idea for us. Let's go
- 41:13Speaker 5: get fucked up and then sit in a geometry class together.
- 41:18Speaker 5: You would say that sounds like the worst place for
- 41:21Speaker 5: us to go to be fucked up. Wow.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Wow, But I kind of disagree at the same time, No.
- 41:26Speaker 5: You wouldn't want to learn about congruent triangles.
- 41:31Speaker 2: But I think also like when you're that young and
- 41:33Speaker 2: you're like doing something like illegal like that, I think
- 41:36Speaker 2: it's like it's kind of like the excitement of like, oh,
- 41:38Speaker 2: I hope I don't get caught. Like I remember we
- 41:41Speaker 2: went on a school trip. When I went on a
- 41:42Speaker 2: school trip and I was with all my best friends.
- 41:45Speaker 2: We had free time. We went and we got fucked up.
- 41:48Speaker 5: Where was it?
- 41:49Speaker 2: You're up?
- 41:50Speaker 5: You went on one of those trips. You were one
- 41:52Speaker 5: of those kids. I got to go on the Europe trip.
- 41:54Speaker 4: Uh?
- 41:54Speaker 2: I went senior year.
- 41:55Speaker 5: I never got to go on one of those. Yeah,
- 41:57Speaker 5: never got asked. I was supposed to go.
- 42:00Speaker 2: I got. I wiggled my way in. My two best
- 42:03Speaker 2: friends were going, and they were going for it's like
- 42:06Speaker 2: all like optional. But then I found out that like
- 42:09Speaker 2: our our group, like our whole like our girlfriend group
- 42:14Speaker 2: was going too, and I was like, oh shit, this
- 42:16Speaker 2: is going to be a blast. So I wiggled my
- 42:17Speaker 2: way through and I like emailed the profet. I didn't
- 42:19Speaker 2: even have the teacher. It wasn't even my teacher. And
- 42:21Speaker 2: I was like, hey, can I come on this? And
- 42:23Speaker 2: they were like yeah, sure, And I went and I
- 42:26Speaker 2: remember we would That was like the most fun I've
- 42:29Speaker 2: ever had in my life, like getting fucked up and
- 42:31Speaker 2: like being in Europe with the whole class on.
- 42:33Speaker 5: Like a tour and you didn't have chaperones.
- 42:36Speaker 2: No, we did, but they'd be like, you have an
- 42:37Speaker 2: hour of free time, and everyone would go like see
- 42:39Speaker 2: the sites, and we'd go to like Papa Gino's or
- 42:40Speaker 2: Papa John's and fucking Papa Juan's. Yeah. Yeah, No, they
- 42:44Speaker 2: had like they had like dominoes and shit in like Paris,
- 42:47Speaker 2: and we would go there and we'd just get like
- 42:49Speaker 2: we'd drink as much beer as we possibly could in
- 42:51Speaker 2: like thirty minutes, and then we'd like buy gum and
- 42:54Speaker 2: then we'd go back.
- 42:55Speaker 5: And they wouldn't smell your breath or look at your
- 42:57Speaker 5: bloodshot eyes or anything like that.
- 42:59Speaker 2: No, towards the end, I think they had to have known,
- 43:02Speaker 2: because I remember I did. Uh. We got like really
- 43:07Speaker 2: really fucked up the last night, and we had like
- 43:10Speaker 2: a big bus th're on, like a tour bus. Sure,
- 43:13Speaker 2: and I think I sang little uzi Vert through like
- 43:17Speaker 2: the PA system on the tour bus while we were
- 43:20Speaker 2: driving home.
- 43:22Speaker 5: The fact that Lil uzi Vert was I think when
- 43:27Speaker 5: you were in high school, Yeah, we had a kid, Bruce.
- 43:32Speaker 5: I can't remember what his last name was, yeah, but
- 43:35Speaker 5: his name was Bruce. He went on one of those trips. Yeah,
- 43:37Speaker 5: everybody loved Bruce. Yeah, and he got fucked up on
- 43:40Speaker 5: that trip. They get in trouble and I don't think
- 43:42Speaker 5: they do the trips anymore. They smell his breath and
- 43:45Speaker 5: then he got caught, and it was a big deal
- 43:47Speaker 5: when they all came back that Bruce got suspended.
- 43:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, we uh. I remember me and my buddies
- 43:53Speaker 2: tried to sneak out of the hotel one night, which
- 43:56Speaker 2: this was actually probably a good thing that we got
- 43:58Speaker 2: caught because we were like sixteen. Yeah for seventeen you
- 44:02Speaker 2: needed to be corrected the fact it probably wouldn't have
- 44:05Speaker 2: been a good thing if we were wandering the streets
- 44:07Speaker 2: of Florence at like three in the morning by ourselves,
- 44:11Speaker 2: three American boys, and we we broke out, and then
- 44:19Speaker 2: the teacher from her hotel room yelled down to us
- 44:24Speaker 2: and was like get back inside right now, oh shure, Like, oh,
- 44:27Speaker 2: we were just going for a walk. Yeah, And I
- 44:30Speaker 2: think we got in a lot of trouble for that.
- 44:32Speaker 5: Damn.
- 44:33Speaker 2: Yeah, that was super fun. That was the only time
- 44:34Speaker 2: I've ever been to Europe really.
- 44:36Speaker 5: Yeah. So you have a passport, I do, that's good. Uh,
- 44:42Speaker 5: would you ever go back to her. Do you have
- 44:43Speaker 5: any Oh, I would love to go back. Do you
- 44:45Speaker 5: like to travel, yeah, cool.
- 44:48Speaker 2: I like to go to like like like I like
- 44:51Speaker 2: going out West, Yeah, America, I know that, and I
- 44:54Speaker 2: like going to uh and also I would I would
- 44:58Speaker 2: love to go back to Italy really. Yeah. What do
- 45:01Speaker 2: you like about Italy the architecture?
- 45:03Speaker 5: Oh yeah really? Yeah?
- 45:05Speaker 2: Also I love Peroni. Uh huh it's good they got
- 45:08Speaker 2: Peronis on draft out there they do. Yeah.
- 45:11Speaker 5: Yeah, Wow, that's cool that you like architecture.
- 45:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I just like, I'm not like, I'm
- 45:16Speaker 2: not like fascinated by it, but it just looks cool.
- 45:18Speaker 5: Are you walking around with your head pointed up?
- 45:20Speaker 2: Yeah? I'd go back to Florence too. Florence is just
- 45:23Speaker 2: a little more low key. Oh really, Florence is pretty small.
- 45:27Speaker 5: Yes, I've been there a couple of times, to Rome,
- 45:31Speaker 5: not Rome. You have Rone is your co host? I do?
- 45:36Speaker 2: Yes?
- 45:37Speaker 5: Uh in Rome, you've been to Rome.
- 45:40Speaker 2: I went to Rome. So over that trip it was
- 45:42Speaker 2: like a week, and I went to Paris, which was Paris,
- 45:52Speaker 2: and then we were there for a couple of days,
- 45:55Speaker 2: and then we took a train overnight train to florin
- 46:00Speaker 2: cool and then from there, we went to Rome and
- 46:03Speaker 2: we went.
- 46:03Speaker 5: Home, roamed home.
- 46:05Speaker 2: But Paris, I remember just being like, this just feels
- 46:08Speaker 2: like New York. Yeah, kind of does. Yeah, there's a
- 46:11Speaker 2: busy city.
- 46:12Speaker 5: It is.
- 46:13Speaker 2: I remember shot gunning beers in the louver at. We
- 46:17Speaker 2: bought beers at the McDonald's and we just went over
- 46:20Speaker 2: to a corner of like the mall area or the
- 46:23Speaker 2: food court area, and we shot gun beers there and
- 46:26Speaker 2: then we went in. We saw Lisa.
- 46:30Speaker 5: That's kind of fun. Did you watch the Murdog documentary?
- 46:34Speaker 2: I did not know.
- 46:34Speaker 5: I think you'd like it.
- 46:35Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm gonna watch it.
- 46:36Speaker 5: You kind of remind me of some of them.
- 46:38Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what I started watching with Succession.
- 46:40Speaker 5: You haven't seen that.
- 46:41Speaker 2: No, it's fucking good.
- 46:42Speaker 5: It's one of the better shows that's come out good.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, I always saw clips of it and I
- 46:47Speaker 2: was like, this show looks gay as fuck. Oh damn
- 46:50Speaker 2: it all like the quick zooms and like the I
- 46:52Speaker 2: don't know if that show out of context, I could
- 46:54Speaker 2: see people not liking uh huh, But well I didn't
- 46:58Speaker 2: like it. But then I watch you. I mean, like,
- 47:00Speaker 2: the first episode is fucking amazing.
- 47:01Speaker 5: It's awesome.
- 47:02Speaker 2: Like, right off the bag, you're like, this show's awesome. Yeah.
- 47:05Speaker 5: Yeah, so you say it looks gay as fuck? Yeah,
- 47:08Speaker 5: So what what is that okay for you to say?
- 47:13Speaker 5: Is that okay?
- 47:14Speaker 6: Now?
- 47:15Speaker 5: I don't know. I think are you gonna cut that now?
- 47:18Speaker 5: Oh well, now we might is it?
- 47:24Speaker 2: You're confronting me on it?
- 47:25Speaker 5: Is it back?
- 47:26Speaker 2: I say it all the time.
- 47:27Speaker 5: I don't have to say gay bashardly.
- 47:30Speaker 2: I'm not saying it bashedly. I think I'm just saying
- 47:34Speaker 2: it's gay as fuck.
- 47:35Speaker 5: Yeah, that's bad.
- 47:36Speaker 2: Don't call me out, don't call me out on my words.
- 47:38Speaker 5: I'm gonna highlight this. I'm going to stay on it.
- 47:41Speaker 5: I like to fixate on the things that you want
- 47:43Speaker 5: to move on from. Well, I'm not that kid whose
- 47:46Speaker 5: family did drugs.
- 47:48Speaker 2: Oh well, no, I see you were saying, you were
- 47:50Speaker 2: talking about what is Bruce? That was his name?
- 47:52Speaker 5: Yeah, Bruce, Bruce.
- 47:53Speaker 2: When was that time you saw Bruce?
- 47:55Speaker 5: Not a long It's been a long time. Okay.
- 47:56Speaker 2: I saw this kid probably like three years ago. There's
- 47:59Speaker 2: a chance he might listen to.
- 48:01Speaker 5: This shit, but he's you know, he's in jail. He
- 48:04Speaker 5: needs this from me.
- 48:05Speaker 2: He's probably like in jail and he's like the one
- 48:07Speaker 2: free hour of free time I get a week. I
- 48:09Speaker 2: like to watch Son of a Boy Day podcast.
- 48:11Speaker 5: I know, I watched my old friend on the big screen,
- 48:13Speaker 5: I bet you, And now I'm like shit talking his
- 48:15Speaker 5: family on a podcast. I'll tell you what. I bet
- 48:18Speaker 5: you he's had this thought. Man, I used to be
- 48:20Speaker 5: best friends with little Sasquatch. Now he used to come
- 48:24Speaker 5: over to our house and nobody watched us. We would
- 48:28Speaker 5: hang out on the roof, and then time, you know,
- 48:33Speaker 5: as so often happens, we went our separate ways. And
- 48:36Speaker 5: now he's this big shot guy at Barstool Sports, which
- 48:40Speaker 5: I love because I'm in prison, and I wonder if
- 48:44Speaker 5: he even knows who I am anymore. So for him
- 48:46Speaker 5: to hear you saying that you remember those times fondly
- 48:51Speaker 5: and that you felt a little bit bad about the
- 48:52Speaker 5: fact that his family was so mired in crime.
- 48:56Speaker 2: Or though like his mom was really normal.
- 49:01Speaker 5: Do you know that for sure?
- 49:02Speaker 2: Yes?
- 49:04Speaker 5: How so? No, But it sounded like to me you
- 49:06Speaker 5: didn't really have a great handle on how much crime
- 49:08Speaker 5: they were involved in. This was in the first This.
- 49:11Speaker 2: Was like in fourth grade, and then like we still
- 49:14Speaker 2: knew each other for the next ten years.
- 49:16Speaker 5: I know, And you said things just got worse from
- 49:18Speaker 5: that point or.
- 49:19Speaker 2: It's getting way too specific.
- 49:21Speaker 5: No, No, I mean.
- 49:22Speaker 2: Now it's like now it's like everyone from my town
- 49:24Speaker 2: knows who I'm talking about. Yeah, every single part. I
- 49:26Speaker 2: think we all need to help these kids. Yeah, we're fine,
- 49:30Speaker 2: they're probably doing great. No, it sounds like they're in
- 49:33Speaker 2: worse shape than every might be. The V is this
- 49:37Speaker 2: what you did on Mean Girls? No fucking shop this
- 49:41Speaker 2: whole episode. Fucking destroy this whole episode, Tyler, just throughout
- 49:47Speaker 2: the whole episode. We can move on from the troubled kids.
- 49:53Speaker 5: We can move on. Good people are you? But you
- 49:56Speaker 5: said you haven't kept up with them.
- 49:58Speaker 2: I haven't kept up with a lot of people. I've
- 50:00Speaker 2: the only two people. I only talked to three people
- 50:01Speaker 2: from my home.
- 50:02Speaker 5: But it sounded like you chose to not maintain a friend.
- 50:05Speaker 2: Maybe like it was maybe like probably like eight Max,
- 50:10Speaker 2: because we were never we were never like out of
- 50:12Speaker 2: school friends after fourth grade? Why we just weren't you
- 50:15Speaker 2: just do you when you're when you're that young, you
- 50:17Speaker 2: switch your friend group a lot? Really, And then I
- 50:19Speaker 2: met my good friends probably in ninth grade?
- 50:22Speaker 5: Did he not fit with them?
- 50:24Speaker 2: We were they never crossed paths.
- 50:26Speaker 5: Were you at a different school, No, how big was
- 50:31Speaker 5: your school like a thousand people? Oh, it's a big school,
- 50:35Speaker 5: So it's two hundred and fifty kids per class. So
- 50:37Speaker 5: there's there's a relatively decent chance that you probably wouldn't
- 50:40Speaker 5: have seen him that often in the halls. Were you
- 50:41Speaker 5: in more accelerated classes than he was? No, you were both.
- 50:46Speaker 5: Did you have classes with him?
- 50:47Speaker 2: Yeah, until like senior years and you.
- 50:49Speaker 5: Chose not to really acknowledge him or No.
- 50:51Speaker 2: We like sat next to each other and talked like
- 50:53Speaker 2: every day. So I told you do. I told you
- 50:55Speaker 2: that we were friends, well that till we graduated.
- 50:58Speaker 5: Well then, but you said you grew apart and that
- 51:00Speaker 5: you had your different friends.
- 51:01Speaker 2: Now, dude, because you have school friends and then you
- 51:03Speaker 2: have out of school friends. You have kids that you
- 51:05Speaker 2: sit next to and you become friends with them and
- 51:07Speaker 2: you talk to them every day. But you're not like, hey,
- 51:09Speaker 2: let's go out after this.
- 51:11Speaker 5: But don't you think maybe he wanted that.
- 51:13Speaker 2: He had friends?
- 51:14Speaker 5: How do you know?
- 51:15Speaker 2: Because I would see him doing stuff out of school,
- 51:19Speaker 2: like on his Instagram stories and stuff. He'd be posting
- 51:22Speaker 2: videos with friends.
- 51:23Speaker 5: Which of them on the roof.
- 51:25Speaker 2: Yeah, they really were on the roof that. Yeah, so
- 51:28Speaker 2: that's what I'm saying, you abandoned it. No, I did
- 51:31Speaker 2: not you. We were friends. We were friends probably in
- 51:35Speaker 2: fourth grade, and then we probably didn't become friends again
- 51:39Speaker 2: until junior year of high school.
- 51:41Speaker 5: Oh you found each other again.
- 51:43Speaker 2: No, we just started having classes together again, and I
- 51:45Speaker 2: was like, what's up.
- 51:47Speaker 5: Ah, that's actually kind of a nice story.
- 51:48Speaker 2: No, it's really every single person in the world has
- 51:51Speaker 2: that exact same thing.
- 51:53Speaker 5: No, that's not true. A lot of people.
- 51:55Speaker 2: You met your friend, and you met your best friend
- 51:57Speaker 2: in fucking preschool, and then you guys became state friends.
- 52:00Speaker 5: Ever, well, no, I can't say that, but I can
- 52:03Speaker 5: say that a lot of people don't sort of actively
- 52:06Speaker 5: choose to distance themselves from a friend early on in life.
- 52:10Speaker 5: Go years and years.
- 52:11Speaker 2: It wasn't. My my parents made me.
- 52:14Speaker 5: Yeah. Either way, however, it is he knew that you
- 52:18Speaker 5: were shunning him.
- 52:19Speaker 2: No, no, no, you don't just go from sleep when
- 52:22Speaker 2: you're young. When you're that young, it's just like you're
- 52:25Speaker 2: all of a sudden, Oh, this kid's coming to sleep over.
- 52:27Speaker 2: I'd barely even know him, but my parents said that
- 52:29Speaker 2: he's coming to sleep.
- 52:30Speaker 5: That's you're down playing.
- 52:31Speaker 2: No is am I right, you wouldn't have asked your
- 52:33Speaker 2: parents young. When you're that young, all of a sudden,
- 52:35Speaker 2: your mom's like, oh bah blah, sleeping over tonight, and
- 52:37Speaker 2: you're like, all right, but.
- 52:38Speaker 5: Hang on that second. It's not like, no, wait a minute,
- 52:41Speaker 5: wait a second, I don't know that I buy that
- 52:43Speaker 5: much porn. You definitely told your parents Mom, dad, I
- 52:47Speaker 5: want to go to what's this? You don't have to
- 52:48Speaker 5: say his name, definitely not saying you would say. You
- 52:51Speaker 5: would say, I want to go. Let's call him, Let's
- 52:53Speaker 5: call him Davy. Yeah, I'm going to go to Davy's house. Uh,
- 52:57Speaker 5: can you talk to his parents to coordinate the exchange,
- 53:01Speaker 5: you know, make sure that you drop me off and
- 53:02Speaker 5: I pick me up whatever, all of that. What's their address?
- 53:05Speaker 5: You had to do all that back then, because you're
- 53:08Speaker 5: not taking yourself there, you're not biking there. I presume
- 53:10Speaker 5: you said you got packed.
- 53:11Speaker 2: I think we lived pretty close to each other.
- 53:14Speaker 5: But you said you got picked up. Yeah, so your
- 53:17Speaker 5: mom had to coordinate a pickup time from the sleepover.
- 53:21Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess so.
- 53:22Speaker 5: I'm assuming she probably spoke to his parents on the phone. Yeah, right,
- 53:26Speaker 5: which means that the whole thing was organized, which means
- 53:29Speaker 5: that the friendship was chosen. It was it ran deeper
- 53:32Speaker 5: than you were allowing.
- 53:33Speaker 8: That's the sound of extremely processed dog food, which is
- 53:37Speaker 8: the norm at most pet food companies. But at the
- 53:40Speaker 8: Farmer's Dog we do things differently. We gently cook our
- 53:44Speaker 8: food without ultra processing. It's developed by our team aboard

- 53:59Speaker 8: first box, available only at the Farmer's Dog dot com.
- 54:04Speaker 2: I almost said better help at the end. It would
- 54:07Speaker 2: have been funny. I don't think it did.
- 54:09Speaker 5: I know it did. And then you guys you got picked.
- 54:13Speaker 2: Up, probably got picked up, and then my mom was
- 54:14Speaker 2: probably like, hey, Bubba, I was coming to sleep over tonight,
- 54:16Speaker 2: and I was like, okay, I don't really like him
- 54:18Speaker 2: that much, but that's fine.
- 54:19Speaker 5: No, No, that's not what happened.
- 54:20Speaker 2: No, that's what Your.
- 54:21Speaker 5: Mom picked you up and saw you had a scar
- 54:23Speaker 5: on your neck from running into the wire, and that
- 54:25Speaker 5: you'd gone to her the guy's house, and he hadn't
- 54:28Speaker 5: treated you. His parents hadn't treated you the way that
- 54:30Speaker 5: she wanted.
- 54:31Speaker 2: He did spray some shit on my neck and then
- 54:32Speaker 2: gave me a bandage.
- 54:33Speaker 5: Yeah, probably the wrong shit. She probably knew it was
- 54:36Speaker 5: the wrong shit, at which point she said, I don't
- 54:39Speaker 5: want you hanging out with him anymore, and you said fine, okay,
- 54:42Speaker 5: and that's what ended the friendship. And it wasn't until
- 54:45Speaker 5: junior year of high school where you finally said, you
- 54:48Speaker 5: know what, I have a sense of autonomy.
- 54:51Speaker 2: And maybe even he was, like, we sat next to
- 54:53Speaker 2: each other in class, let's see next week, But.
- 54:54Speaker 5: You wouldn't have been open to see. You wouldn't okay, fine,
- 54:58Speaker 5: but you still wouldn't have opened up that avenue of
- 55:00Speaker 5: communication unless you had been willing at that point to say,
- 55:04Speaker 5: I stand on my own two feet. I'm an older man. Now,
- 55:07Speaker 5: I'm a young man. I can make decisions for myself.
- 55:09Speaker 5: I don't even really remember why my mom said I
- 55:11Speaker 5: shouldn't hang out with this kid anymore. Davy want to
- 55:15Speaker 5: hang out.
- 55:15Speaker 2: I definitely knew why at that point.
- 55:18Speaker 5: It's like, obviously I knew, why did he he knew
- 55:22Speaker 5: he wasn't stupid.
- 55:23Speaker 2: I don't think he knew that I wasn't allowed to
- 55:25Speaker 2: hang out with him, so.
- 55:27Speaker 5: Then he probably took it really personally.
- 55:30Speaker 2: Dude, you don't take things personally when you're that young.
- 55:33Speaker 5: You're just like I think you take it more personally.
- 55:35Speaker 5: No way, he's your best friend. You guys are like, really,
- 55:39Speaker 5: you're really good friends, dude.
- 55:40Speaker 2: We hung That was the first time I had ever
- 55:42Speaker 2: slept over all.
- 55:43Speaker 5: Right, what one sleepover and done over? Yeah, let me
- 55:45Speaker 5: tell you something. If I had a buddy come over
- 55:48Speaker 5: and sleep at my house, if I went to the
- 55:50Speaker 5: trouble of telling my mom, mom, can you talk to
- 55:53Speaker 5: so and So's moms TC half in Reffer, Right, I
- 55:55Speaker 5: love TC half in Reffer. I looked up to this kid,
- 55:58Speaker 5: but he was a little bit rough around the edges.
- 56:00Speaker 5: Knew it was a risk, and I said, mom, can
- 56:01Speaker 5: you talk to TC half in Refer's mom? And he
- 56:03Speaker 5: would shoot.
- 56:04Speaker 2: They did.
- 56:05Speaker 5: They talked, and TC came over and spent the night
- 56:07Speaker 5: with me, And that was the last sleepover he was
- 56:09Speaker 5: ever willing to do. I would be offended.
- 56:12Speaker 2: I would be more infinitive if he was someone that
- 56:13Speaker 2: I was. That we had like ten sleepovers and then
- 56:15Speaker 2: all of a sudden it was just never again.
- 56:17Speaker 5: No, man, I think one being done is not that
- 56:19Speaker 5: you'd feel judged. You would feel like, what's wrong with
- 56:21Speaker 5: my house? What's wrong with me?
- 56:23Speaker 2: He lived in a nice ass house.
- 56:24Speaker 5: You didn't You said it was a drug den.
- 56:27Speaker 2: No, it was a nice drug den.
- 56:28Speaker 5: I'm picturing something out of like a euphoria.
- 56:30Speaker 2: No, dude, he lived in like a nice ass house.
- 56:32Speaker 2: He lived in one of the nice parts of our town.
- 56:34Speaker 5: Yeah, so even more to the point that you probably
- 56:36Speaker 5: would have wanted to Yea.
- 56:38Speaker 2: I think about all the drug dealers lived in the
- 56:40Speaker 2: nice part of town, okay, because they were all just
- 56:42Speaker 2: like their parents would do drugs. Yeah, because they're like
- 56:44Speaker 2: rich as fuck and they're like, let's just smoke weed.
- 56:47Speaker 2: So heavy knew I was all smoke weed too.
- 56:51Speaker 5: Davy never knew why you didn't want to hang out
- 56:53Speaker 5: with him again. But you, uh, and you didn't tell.
- 56:57Speaker 2: I don't know, maybe I did tell him.
- 56:58Speaker 5: All right, Well, rack your memory for one second. When
- 57:01Speaker 5: you guys, when you mended fences as juniors in high school,
- 57:07Speaker 5: was there a moment of like, hey, man, water under
- 57:11Speaker 5: the bridge, not in a while, not even a little bit.
- 57:14Speaker 5: Whatever happened all those years.
- 57:16Speaker 2: Ago, whatever happened ten years.
- 57:18Speaker 5: I thought I showed you a good time.
- 57:20Speaker 2: Probably didn't even remember.
- 57:22Speaker 5: He definitely remembered me getting decapitated, though, that was hard
- 57:25Speaker 5: I forget. I think he remembered so just right off
- 57:29Speaker 5: the bat, though. Then you guys were right back in
- 57:31Speaker 5: your old groove. Dude. We were back general.
- 57:34Speaker 2: We were back in a groove of being like this
- 57:36Speaker 2: teacher fucking sucks. I hate this class too. Yeah, right,
- 57:41Speaker 2: that was the furthest groove we got into. And then
- 57:43Speaker 2: he dropped out halfway through that year. For real. I
- 57:50Speaker 2: told you we dropped out of high school.
- 57:51Speaker 5: I didn't know was that year. Yeah, dude, I thought
- 57:54Speaker 5: you had a little more time.
- 57:55Speaker 2: Oh, he dropped out like junior year.
- 57:59Speaker 5: You're just telling me all of a sudden, one day
- 58:01Speaker 5: you sat down in your assigned seat and he never
- 58:04Speaker 5: showed up.
- 58:06Speaker 2: Yeah, and then he never showed up again.
- 58:07Speaker 5: Did he tell you he was planning to drop out?
- 58:11Speaker 8: No?
- 58:11Speaker 2: He I remember we had a group project and I
- 58:14Speaker 2: wasn't in his group because it was like two and
- 58:17Speaker 2: two and he had the whole group project on his computer.
- 58:21Speaker 2: And then the day it was due, he just never
- 58:23Speaker 2: came back, and the other kid.
- 58:24Speaker 5: Got fucked I mean, that's pretty irresponsible for them to
- 58:28Speaker 5: let him put it on his computer. Now, anyone who
- 58:31Speaker 5: was going to drop out, knowing his family history. I mean,
- 58:37Speaker 5: that laptop was definitely paid for.
- 58:39Speaker 2: It from the school. The school would give us a laptop,
- 58:45Speaker 2: and then you got to give it back.
- 58:46Speaker 5: Yeah, and I bet you he didn't give it back
- 58:49Speaker 5: and traded it for fucking needles.
- 58:50Speaker 2: I don't think I gave mine back either, to be honest,
- 58:53Speaker 2: Actually I know I didn't because I had it up
- 58:55Speaker 2: until I got hired at Barstool and they sent me
- 58:56Speaker 2: a new one.
- 58:57Speaker 5: Well that's nice to know. That's where the mass Cho
- 59:00Speaker 5: taxpayers dollars are going.
- 59:02Speaker 2: So it actually ended that entire deal with our school.
- 59:04Speaker 2: They did, Yeah, because no one gave their laptop. Yeah.
- 59:07Speaker 2: I believe that there's just nothing they could do about it.
- 59:10Speaker 5: Yeah all right, Well, hold on a second. There's so
- 59:13Speaker 5: much more that I need to know.
- 59:15Speaker 2: Nothing anything.
- 59:16Speaker 5: Now I'm completely hooked. Now I'm completely hooked. So you
- 59:21Speaker 5: guys are bonding, you're rebuilding the rapport. I'm assuming at
- 59:25Speaker 5: that age you probably exchanged cell phone numbers because you're
- 59:29Speaker 5: talking about I hate this teacher, blah blah blah, this sucks.
- 59:36Speaker 5: There must have been some feelings that were stirred up
- 59:39Speaker 5: that had been lying dormant for all those years.
- 59:41Speaker 2: Year it was like, oh, I have this class, meant
- 59:43Speaker 2: he would either be there or he wouldn't be there.
- 59:45Speaker 5: He missed a lot. Yeah, there was no part of
- 59:48Speaker 5: you that thought maybe I should look out for my
- 59:50Speaker 5: friend check in with him, like, oh, dude, you missed
- 59:54Speaker 5: a lot of class.
- 59:55Speaker 2: Really, just someone that I sat next to in class?
- 59:57Speaker 5: Would don't you think if he heard you say that,
- 59:59Speaker 5: he'd be a little hurt again? Sometimes go to ruin
- 1:00:03Speaker 5: this kid.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: No, now I think about it. He probably doesn't even
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: remember me.
- 1:00:07Speaker 5: That's a cop out. I don't buy that for one second.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: I do. He's probably like what that he Yeah.
- 1:00:14Speaker 5: No chance he doesn't remember you. I bet you. This
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: kid's gonna he lives in Boston, lives near Boston.
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: I don't know where he lives.
- 1:00:22Speaker 5: Next time you're in Boston, he's gonna be at your show.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: Yeah, fucking probably with a gun now, yeah yeah, or
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: a nice hole fucking debacle. Hold on, we're gonna have
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: to remove from the show.
- 1:00:33Speaker 5: No, no, this is the best part.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: We're gonna come after you.
- 1:00:36Speaker 5: That's fine. They come after me all the time. Dangerous.
- 1:00:39Speaker 5: I've learned. I've learned how to blend in. Oh no,
- 1:00:44Speaker 5: I've got some moves. Oh, they would get you quick.
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: I don't know about that fun with you, have fun.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: We are on.
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: You and your friends, with you, your friends. No, I
- 1:00:55Speaker 5: would love you. I would get right in with the Klan.
- 1:00:58Speaker 5: I would go right in with the white supremacists. And
- 1:01:01Speaker 5: they're not white supremacist, they're not racist. In prison, No,
- 1:01:05Speaker 5: those guys, I thought you want to prison, because I
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: don't know that was just what we were talking about.
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: No point were we talking about that. I thought you
- 1:01:13Speaker 5: said they would get you, they would eat you alive,
- 1:01:15Speaker 5: And that made me think prison.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: No. I meant they're gonna find you, and they're gonna
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: fucking who's they They got a carew this is your boy.
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: They got a career, your boy. So you are admitting
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: that he's really in bad. He's in a bat.
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: I have no idea running with the wrong I have.
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: No idea, dude, I literally have no idea. It's like
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: lassed around. After this, the more things changed, as anyone
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: as anyone heard from this kid in a while.
- 1:01:38Speaker 5: Stay the same. I thought you said his mom really
- 1:01:42Speaker 5: tried to clean things up for them. I think she did,
- 1:01:44Speaker 5: but he'd already dropped out. How did she not?
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: I don't know if he like dropped out or if
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: he just started getting homeschooled or some shit.
- 1:01:49Speaker 5: No chance, there's no chance.
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: I think he might. She thought he got like his
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: whatever ged.
- 1:01:58Speaker 5: And his mom supervised that. Because she sounds to me
- 1:02:01Speaker 5: like a straight shooter, she's probably the hero of the story.
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: All I know is I think that they're probably doing
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: pretty well now, well before the big question, I help
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: that they're doing great.
- 1:02:13Speaker 5: We have one question from all of this, and the
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: big question that we have to clarify is whether or
- 1:02:18Speaker 5: not the mom ripped him out of school to homeschool
- 1:02:23Speaker 5: him and get him back on track, or whether he
- 1:02:27Speaker 5: dropped out of his own volition.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: And I don't think you can just drop out when
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: you're a junior. I think you need like parents permission.
- 1:02:34Speaker 5: I don't think dude, I don't think that the school
- 1:02:36Speaker 5: can stop you if you just stop showing up.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: It's illegal if you're under a certain age. You can't
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: do that unless they're like, unless you're like have proof
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: of like you're being homeschool or you're transferring schools.
- 1:02:50Speaker 5: Yeah, but some people, some kids are just too far
- 1:02:53Speaker 5: gone and they're untraceable, probably like your friend.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: No, he definitely was not untraceable.
- 1:02:57Speaker 5: I mean sounds like he was like a drifter.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: No, No, I think he he was. Right now, we're
- 1:03:05Speaker 2: describing what we're describing as a kid who like smoked
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: weed in high school.
- 1:03:09Speaker 5: I mean.
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: It was, It's blown.
- 1:03:15Speaker 5: It was way more than this.
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: Is a kid who like went to school, smoked weed
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: after school, and then when he was in high.
- 1:03:23Speaker 5: Was smoking before school. Yeah.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: Probably along with every other person that I went to.
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: High he was. He was the ring leader.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: No.
- 1:03:31Speaker 5: No, he said my dad left me some before he left.
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: Maybe, but that wouldn't be the first time that's happened.
- 1:03:37Speaker 5: I bet you he idolized his father.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: I think he probably glamorized.
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: Maybe you should have him on your podcast.
- 1:03:46Speaker 5: That Well, you need to give me his name, and
- 1:03:48Speaker 5: I'm going to reach out to him as soon as
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: I get off this because I have so many goddamn
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: questions because you're.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: Using not giving you his name. You know what you
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: grew up in Maine. There's people that were like growing
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: weed with their parents. Have you noticed that.
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: Like, what he'll do in answering these questions is to
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: be like, dude, I have no idea. Well, actually what
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: happened was his mom and then he'll get real specific.
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: It's like, dude, fucking pick up, make up your mind.
- 1:04:11Speaker 5: Are you gonna give us the story or not?
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: The story ended thirty minutes. You're being so playful, and
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: this was all about this is all just about me
- 1:04:19Speaker 2: getting decapitated.
- 1:04:20Speaker 5: You're teasing us, like me.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: Getting decapitated to being like a fucking yeah, you're like
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: Kate is like a like a wealthy family from Massachusett.
- 1:04:29Speaker 5: Yeah, this is what I'm saying. This is what you're doing,
- 1:04:31Speaker 5: Like I don't know anything. Why are you getting so specific? Well, actually,
- 1:04:34Speaker 5: you know he sat next to me junior year and
- 1:04:36Speaker 5: dropped out halfway through the year. You know way more
- 1:04:39Speaker 5: about this family than you want us to know. And
- 1:04:41Speaker 5: I'm just trying to get the goddamn story for their sake,
- 1:04:43Speaker 5: because I know that kid's in trouble and he's noting
- 1:04:48Speaker 5: and he wants our help for God's sake, Harry, for
- 1:04:52Speaker 5: God's sake, he does not what is his name?
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: Don't remember? Okay, I know where will I be giving
- 1:04:58Speaker 2: out any more details on the story.
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: That's what you think. We all know, we know how
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: fucking easy it is to get ship out of you.
- 1:05:06Speaker 5: Well you know, all right, fine, Well listen what he
- 1:05:10Speaker 5: knows if we're talking about him, right, because he would
- 1:05:13Speaker 5: know based on the fact that you spent the night decapitation.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: For I was right off the decapitation thing.
- 1:05:21Speaker 5: Yeah, and then that his dad was a drug dealer.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: I don't think he was a drug dealer or a.
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: Big drug guy. His parents got divorced. I think his
- 1:05:28Speaker 5: dad dad.
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: People. This was back when like weed was illegal, like
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: people looked at it were different.
- 1:05:33Speaker 5: Yeah, I remember that.
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: Now it's like if a if a dad smokes weed,
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: no one gives a ship.
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: No, they think he's cooler.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: Back then, this was like, oh my god, they smoke weed.
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: Now it's like, like do they They're they're normal people,
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: they're good folk man.
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: You really want America? You really walked it back on
- 1:05:50Speaker 5: that family? Huh? You really do think they're listening?
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: Yes, I mean now I think it's going to get
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: back to them because if.
- 1:05:59Speaker 5: We're honest, if I'm taking my own evaluation of this family,
- 1:06:04Speaker 5: which again has been cold, entirely and exclusively from information
- 1:06:09Speaker 5: you have given me. You are my only conduit to this.
- 1:06:14Speaker 5: I don't know this family that I have painted in
- 1:06:17Speaker 5: my mind. It is troubled youth, addict, father, criminal, and
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: heroic mother and they are all just doing their best,
- 1:06:33Speaker 5: but they're never going to be happy again in their lives.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: They're probably doing great, and I wish them nothing but
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: the best.
- 1:06:41Speaker 5: Fine, now you're tied to this, I will I will die.
- 1:06:46Speaker 5: I will go down with this ship. I don't give
- 1:06:48Speaker 5: a shit. I don't know these fucking people.
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: You're going to when they show up at your front door.
- 1:06:53Speaker 5: Yeah, and I'll be like, hey, come on in, and
- 1:06:55Speaker 5: there's plenty of drugs here. You fucking bad people. You
- 1:07:00Speaker 5: derelict excuse for the American dream.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: Oh Jesus, they're good folk. They're good in Massachusetts folk.
- 1:07:09Speaker 5: Yeah, I bet I bet they are.
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: Well, what else is going? What do we at?
- 1:07:17Speaker 3: Like?
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: An hour and forty five sixty six?
- 1:07:23Speaker 5: Nice? Nice, the longest hour of myn That was really good.
- 1:07:27Speaker 5: I'm really glad we got there.
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: That was four minutes of that.
- 1:07:31Speaker 5: Yeah, that was great, dude. That was a good segment.
- 1:07:34Speaker 5: By the way, if this, if Run's ever out again,
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: I want to meet another member from your past, because
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: we can do this. We can do this all.
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: Badly tell you about other people from my past. This
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: is just one that's this is gonna end up being
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: a bad.
- 1:07:48Speaker 5: They're the most they're the most rep they're the most noteworthy.
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: I'm going to start getting phone calls in the middle
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: of the night.
- 1:07:54Speaker 5: Now you won't. And by the way, what does it
- 1:07:57Speaker 5: even matter you're awake. You don't have a middle of
- 1:08:02Speaker 5: the night. From what I understand, you receive a phone
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: call at two pm, You're like, Hey, what's going on?
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: Whereas I'd be like.
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: Two pm, two am, two am. Sorry you're slow. Damn
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: Francis doesn't wake up until three pm. I wish I
- 1:08:23Speaker 2: could have that job at barstool.
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: Hey, your birthday's coming up.
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: In like a month and a half. That's actually now,
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: it's like a month.
- 1:08:32Speaker 5: Nice. Yeah, you're gonna do anything fun?
- 1:08:37Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 1:08:38Speaker 5: I ask you a different question.
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: People do the case race.
- 1:08:40Speaker 5: Does it ever strike you as just super peculiar that
- 1:08:48Speaker 5: if you were living, let's say, a more normal life
- 1:08:52Speaker 5: for someone in your shoes, then you'd be in your
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: senior year of college right now. No, not really, You
- 1:09:03Speaker 5: don't even envision that track. You don't go that, you
- 1:09:07Speaker 5: don't have that path in your mind.
- 1:09:10Speaker 2: No, I went to college for a year.
- 1:09:14Speaker 5: Weren't into it.
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: I just hate school. Yeah, I don't like doing like
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: math and shit.
- 1:09:20Speaker 5: But I don't think that that when I when I
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: think of college, I'm not thinking about that. You know.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: I didn't really go to like a party school.
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: Where'd you go to?
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: Paul?
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: Where's that Chicago? That was more of like I go
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: to a bar, Like I'd be doing the same shit
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: that I do now. Was there wasn't like frat parties
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: or like parties.
- 1:09:39Speaker 5: Would you have any idea what you would have wanted
- 1:09:41Speaker 5: to study?
- 1:09:42Speaker 2: I was studying film, really, yeah, which is a fake major?
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: To be a director? No, to be a screenwriter?
- 1:09:51Speaker 5: Interesting? All right, well that's relatively adjacent I think to
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: what you do now. That's cool man. Yeah, but I
- 1:10:01Speaker 5: guess you're right, there's no point to have seen that
- 1:10:04Speaker 5: through now this is far the better option. Yeah. Is
- 1:10:09Speaker 5: there any part of you that worries you missed out
- 1:10:10Speaker 5: on some of your youth by start by entering the
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: workforce as early as you did.
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: Big News Suppora is now on Uber eats, so if
- 1:10:17Speaker 3: you have a beauty emergency like needing a last minute gift,
- 1:10:20Speaker 3: or you run out of your favorite mascara again, we
- 1:10:22Speaker 3: got you. Order now and get ten dollars off on
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: support orders of fifty dollars or more on the Uber
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: eats app. See app for availability terms apply.
- 1:10:31Speaker 5: Do you feel like you've missed no sort of foundations
- 1:10:34Speaker 5: the people that I hang out with, like Column, I
- 1:10:41Speaker 5: think he's given me all the youth that I need
- 1:10:43Speaker 5: and we're going out to like five am on a
- 1:10:45Speaker 5: Tuesday together. No, I know, Yeah, maybe, I don't know.
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: I don't think that those.
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: I mean, I'm still like I still have all my friends.
- 1:10:55Speaker 5: Yes, But is there is there a sort of an
- 1:10:59Speaker 5: invisible golf between you guys in that you have such
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: different experiences?
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I mean I don't know. I mean,
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: like my my friends who are in college still, I mean,
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: for the ones that are, I don't think it doesn't
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: really seem like I'm missing much.
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: Do they envy that you have an income?
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: Probably?
- 1:11:21Speaker 5: Yeah, and theoretically a jump start on your career?
- 1:11:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I don't think it's like, Uh, I mean,
- 1:11:30Speaker 2: my friend Bo he goes to community college and works
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: and he's transferring to University of Denver. I think so
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: his college experience has been the same as mine, right,
- 1:11:45Speaker 2: Like he just goes to class. He doesn't know anyone
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: from his school. Ah, he has like friends outside that
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: he's like been with for years now. And then yeah
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: that I have two friends who are in school still,
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: but they don't like they're not really like I think
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: COVID fucked everyone a lot.
- 1:12:02Speaker 5: Yeah, there's not.
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: Like like my buddy was in a frat when he
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: was a freshman and it was like the biggest frat
- 1:12:07Speaker 2: his school, and then like COVID came and they were
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: doing parties still during COVID and their frat got fucked.
- 1:12:13Speaker 5: Well, I think that's the huge silver lining is knowing
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: that you would have had a completely interrupted college.
- 1:12:20Speaker 2: I would have had a whole other year and like
- 1:12:22Speaker 2: a half of zoom classes. Yeah, so I've only missed
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: like a year and a hal hit away.
- 1:12:28Speaker 5: You dodged one of the great bullets.
- 1:12:30Speaker 2: Well that's why I dropped out.
- 1:12:33Speaker 5: Oh really, Yeah, you were going to try to do both.
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:12:36Speaker 5: I was going to do barstool and go to school,
- 1:12:39Speaker 5: and then they announced that we were doing zoom classes
- 1:12:41Speaker 5: for the whole next year, and I said, no, thank you.
- 1:12:45Speaker 5: Wow were your parents okay with that?
- 1:12:48Speaker 2: No?
- 1:12:49Speaker 5: How did you put your foot down?
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: I said, I'm going to do this for a year
- 1:12:53Speaker 2: and if it doesn't work out, I'll go back to school.
- 1:12:55Speaker 5: And they were okay with that.
- 1:12:56Speaker 2: Oh yeah, because I was like, I'm not going to
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: do zoom classes, but it's like a waste of time, right,
- 1:13:01Speaker 2: And then we did. And then I did that. I
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: did barstool for a year and I didn't even know
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: if I was gonna stay at barstool because I wasn't
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: really doing anything m And then I got brought on
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: the Yak and then we started Son of a Boy Dad,
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: and then I started doing stand up like all around
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: that same time.
- 1:13:20Speaker 5: Wow, that's a lot.
- 1:13:23Speaker 2: So pretty much the whole first year I was here,
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: it was just kind of like I was just existing, right.
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: I didn't have any friends at all at the company
- 1:13:33Speaker 2: like I had like I was friends with like Nick
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: and KB, but like we really wouldn't like hang out
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: a lot. I mean we hang out now, but it's like,
- 1:13:39Speaker 2: I mean Nick's not like a big going out guy.
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: Like we'll get dinner together. That's fun, But like I
- 1:13:44Speaker 2: didn't have like like I like wouldn't do anything, and
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: I was living with like strangers, right, so I would
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: like literally just lay in my bed and go to
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: work and play video games and play video games and
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: go to the gym.
- 1:14:00Speaker 5: Are you happier now? Yeah? I feel like you're a
- 1:14:03Speaker 5: much more fully realized version of yourself now.
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: Well, I just busiest, fuck all the time.
- 1:14:09Speaker 5: It's good. Yeah, that's what you need to be. You
- 1:14:11Speaker 5: have the energy for it. Yeah, you're a young man.
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14:15Speaker 5: But yeah.
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: So and then my parents actually wanted me to go
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: back to school after my first year here, but you
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: said no, I'm actually enrolled in a class. And then
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: I dropped the class within a week. So I was
- 1:14:30Speaker 2: like fuck that bright. I was like, dude, maybe school
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: is awesome. And then I went to one lecture and
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: I was like, yeah, I'm not doing this shit right.
- 1:14:41Speaker 5: That would have been back at DePaul.
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: Dropped out again from DePaul, Yeah, wow, dropped out twice.
- 1:14:47Speaker 2: Actually wow. I remember I had a fucking I had
- 1:14:52Speaker 2: to call my like counselor like my guidance counsel or whatever,
- 1:14:56Speaker 2: your advisor. Yeah, and I was like, hey, I'm looking
- 1:14:59Speaker 2: to a like role in a class and she was
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: like so mean. Oh no, She's like, well, it looks
- 1:15:07Speaker 2: like you haven't been in a class in over two
- 1:15:09Speaker 2: in over a year. And I was like, yeah, I
- 1:15:12Speaker 2: was taking some time off working and she's like really yeah.
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: It was like it was like really weird.
- 1:15:20Speaker 5: Do your parents feel like that one year that you
- 1:15:23Speaker 5: spent in school that they've been bilked front of it,
- 1:15:28Speaker 5: that you bilked that out of them, took it from
- 1:15:31Speaker 5: them like that, that you owe them for it. Ah.
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: No, I think they're probably pretty fucking pumped that I'm actually.
- 1:15:37Speaker 5: Not in school because they got they don't.
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: Pay for three years. Yeah, provide for myself completely.
- 1:15:44Speaker 5: That's pretty nice.
- 1:15:45Speaker 2: So they're probably pretty pumped about that.
- 1:15:47Speaker 5: That's cool.
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: They don't pay my rent or food or anything.
- 1:15:50Speaker 5: That's great. Have you got a credit card? We've talked
- 1:15:53Speaker 5: about this a lot of time now you still don't
- 1:15:55Speaker 5: have one. Yeah. I cannot tell you how angry that
- 1:15:58Speaker 5: makes it.
- 1:15:58Speaker 2: I'm getting one. I'm supposed to meet You've.
- 1:16:00Speaker 5: Been saying that to me for so fucking long. The
- 1:16:03Speaker 5: fact that you don't have.
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: A credit card actually won't let me post to meet
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: with a dude ditchally tomorrow.
- 1:16:08Speaker 5: That you won't you won't let me just do that
- 1:16:11Speaker 5: for you with my business manager, that I can't just
- 1:16:13Speaker 5: sit down with you and for in ten minutes to
- 1:16:17Speaker 5: Chase explain to you. This is a credit card. This
- 1:16:20Speaker 5: is how you're gonna link this account. You're gonna need
- 1:16:22Speaker 5: to pay it every month and.
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: Having to Chase, we're picking up a card.
- 1:16:26Speaker 5: I'm gonna be who's this fucking guy? Did you make
- 1:16:28Speaker 5: this guy up to?
- 1:16:29Speaker 2: No, it's a real dude. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, what's
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: his life?
- 1:16:33Speaker 5: Start?
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: No, I don't know him at all.
- 1:16:35Speaker 5: Your business manager? You have a business manager?
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: Uh now, but he's like a business manager.
- 1:16:41Speaker 5: How'd you meet him?
- 1:16:44Speaker 2: Recommended?
- 1:16:45Speaker 5: Okay? Yeah?
- 1:16:46Speaker 2: And he's just bringing me over.
- 1:16:47Speaker 5: I feel I want to check. I want to talk
- 1:16:49Speaker 5: to that guy.
- 1:16:50Speaker 2: He's just setting up my account, setting up an LLC. Okay,
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: and he's setting it up for me. All right.
- 1:16:57Speaker 5: If you don't have a credit card in a week,
- 1:17:01Speaker 5: I'm stepping in.
- 1:17:02Speaker 2: I'm going to I'm probably not. I'm probably not going
- 1:17:05Speaker 2: to do that tomorrow.
- 1:17:06Speaker 5: What do you mean why not?
- 1:17:09Speaker 2: I don't know. It just sounds like a pain in
- 1:17:10Speaker 2: the ass.
- 1:17:11Speaker 5: Ah, dude, Oh my god, I'm telling you. I'll tell
- 1:17:14Speaker 5: you I'm more of a liquid to guy. He and
- 1:17:15Speaker 5: I go and he fucking pays. He's like, oh, here's
- 1:17:19Speaker 5: let me pay for this one, and he gives him
- 1:17:21Speaker 5: his debit card and then they're like, what's your pin?
- 1:17:24Speaker 5: And it's like, are you fucking kidding right now? Do
- 1:17:28Speaker 5: you know how much money? I know you're spending a
- 1:17:30Speaker 5: good amount of money and you would be especially are you.
- 1:17:34Speaker 5: You're telling me you're paying for your You pay for
- 1:17:36Speaker 5: your flights with your debit card? Makes me sick. That
- 1:17:42Speaker 5: truly makes me sick. Credit cards are meant to accrue
- 1:17:47Speaker 5: travel benefits, specifically every time you and I travel. If
- 1:17:51Speaker 5: we go to LaGuardia together, I can bring you in,
- 1:17:54Speaker 5: maybe to the Delta Lounge as my plus one. But
- 1:17:57Speaker 5: I only get so many of those.
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: Dude, I'll be in the I'll be in the Delta
- 1:17:59Speaker 2: Lounge where you even know it.
- 1:18:01Speaker 5: No, you won't. You won't when you keep paying with
- 1:18:04Speaker 5: cash like your fucking Pablo Escobar dude.
- 1:18:06Speaker 2: At a certain point, they're gonna see my rockland Trust
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: card and they're gonna going ship in Rockland Trust open.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: Just enrageous me. But yeah, you can come in the lounge.
- 1:18:17Speaker 2: They're probably gonna add a Rockland Trust lounge. They're gonna
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: name it Harry's Lounge.
- 1:18:21Speaker 8: Bro.
- 1:18:21Speaker 2: You need for me, you need you.
- 1:18:26Speaker 5: Did you ever see Breaking Bad?
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:18:28Speaker 5: You saw it right, Yes, you know the scene where
- 1:18:32Speaker 5: Skyler brings Walter into the storage unit money with all
- 1:18:38Speaker 5: the money. Yeah, and that's like me, She's like, I
- 1:18:42Speaker 5: spray it for ringworm or whatever. You know, Crystal, there's
- 1:18:46Speaker 5: some kind of bug that could theoretically eat the cash,
- 1:18:49Speaker 5: I think. But it's just lying there and it's purposeless.
- 1:18:55Speaker 5: It's not growing. Well, it's growing in that they keep
- 1:18:58Speaker 5: adding to it because they're adding to it, but it's
- 1:19:00Speaker 5: not growing in and of itself. It's not invested. It's
- 1:19:04Speaker 5: not kicking off points for a potential vacation that you
- 1:19:08Speaker 5: might take. It's not gaining new status so that you'll
- 1:19:12Speaker 5: have a more comfortable seat on an airline just from
- 1:19:15Speaker 5: booking a normal flight or those types of Remember how
- 1:19:19Speaker 5: much you liked that that upgrade you got at the
- 1:19:22Speaker 5: hotel from that guy who's going to hook me up?
- 1:19:25Speaker 2: Remember that it was just no, I was actually gonna say.
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: What I was gonna say about that was I actually
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: didn't like it because it was just more room to
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: make a mess with.
- 1:19:32Speaker 5: I don't believe you. You come from humble beginnings. You
- 1:19:37Speaker 5: come from a place where a sleepover spent on someone's roof,
- 1:19:43Speaker 5: drinking beers in fourth grade, long before the entire family
- 1:19:47Speaker 5: had collapsed under the weight of their own lost dreams
- 1:19:53Speaker 5: and crippled souls. That was a fun night for you.
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: It was.
- 1:19:57Speaker 5: And that's still and then you like that because they
- 1:20:00Speaker 5: had a big house.
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: I'm going to get a credit card tomorrow. No, you're
- 1:20:06Speaker 2: fucking not.
- 1:20:08Speaker 5: Just told you're not.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: We're either doing an X or we're doing a Chase.
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: What's the good one.
- 1:20:12Speaker 5: There's a reserve. The Chase Sapphire Reserve is a good one.
- 1:20:14Speaker 2: That's what we're gonna do.
- 1:20:15Speaker 5: Okay, that's fine. I can limit get into the Delta
- 1:20:19Speaker 5: Lounge with that, I think so, uh you might a
- 1:20:22Speaker 5: couple of times a year, and you get unlimited, you
- 1:20:25Speaker 5: get the Centurion Lounge with the Chase Sapphire Reserve.
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: Hell's that.
- 1:20:29Speaker 5: It's a really good lounge.
- 1:20:30Speaker 2: Better than the Delta. It's on par it's better.
- 1:20:34Speaker 5: I like Delta because I fly down to see if
- 1:20:36Speaker 5: I get you one plus one. I have access to
- 1:20:38Speaker 5: the Centurion Lounge thanks to.
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: When I get in it. I'm actually going to make
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: a special request.
- 1:20:42Speaker 5: There is no lounge you could get into that I
- 1:20:45Speaker 5: can't get into. I guarantee you. I have too many
- 1:20:48Speaker 5: credit cards.
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: I'll get in.
- 1:20:51Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, you may.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: I'm going to get to the airport before you. When
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: we go to San Francisco, no way, Jose. I want
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: to get there three hours early, and I'm gonna be like,
- 1:20:57Speaker 2: where are you at them?
- 1:20:58Speaker 5: I'll be I'll be like, I'm in the I've already
- 1:20:59Speaker 5: I'm in the bathroom.
- 1:21:00Speaker 2: I'm in the Rockland trust line.
- 1:21:02Speaker 5: No, I'm not all right. Sh Are we wrap? That's it.
- 1:21:06Speaker 5: That's a good episode of Son of the Boy Dad. Yeah,
- 1:21:09Speaker 5: that's fun. I'm Francis Elis. That's a little Sasquatch. Thanks

- 1:21:26Speaker 5: You already said it, guys. I'll be with Harry in

- 1:21:35Speaker 5: really fun show because the two of us are going

- 1:21:43Speaker 5: Come hang out with us, lose some money on the
- 1:21:45Speaker 5: blackjack tables. Whatever it is that we like to do.
- 1:21:48Speaker 5: Barstool Sportsbook, We're all over it. Charlestown, West Virginia's May twelfth.
- 1:21:52Speaker 5: Tickets for that are available on Harry's link tree. That's
- 1:21:54Speaker 5: a little Sasage link tree on his Instagram or his
- 1:21:57Speaker 5: Twitter or my website Francislas dot com. I love you,
- 1:22:00Speaker 5: that son of a boy. Dad, thank you so much. Goodbye.
- 1:22:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:22:04Speaker 7: I
