- 0:00Speaker 1: Jampa Bay's Best music.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Is nine and welcome to another episode of Scotty and
- 0:06Speaker 2: Abbey Unfiltered. There's been so much that has happened in
- 0:09Speaker 2: the past couple of days that we have a lot.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Of catching up to do.
- 0:12Speaker 2: And one of the things that I wanted to bring
- 0:13Speaker 2: up with you, Abby, is just a fascinating thought that
- 0:16Speaker 2: I've experienced in the past couple of days, and it
- 0:18Speaker 2: has to do with my relationship.
- 0:19Speaker 1: You're getting married.
- 0:20Speaker 2: I'm not getting married. Not getting married. There's no invitations
- 0:24Speaker 2: being sent it out just yet. Okay, Well, one of
- 0:26Speaker 2: the things I've never had to experience is like, you know,
- 0:28Speaker 2: and how often do you get like random dms from
- 0:31Speaker 2: just random dudes that are just like weird and creepy.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Not as many as one would hope. Are you open
- 0:36Speaker 1: to get them? Right? I'm like, oh, I must lose
- 0:39Speaker 1: my edge. Well, it's very.
- 0:41Speaker 2: Fascinating because like, now that you know, my girlfriend and
- 0:44Speaker 2: I are public and I get to go and see
- 0:46Speaker 2: a lot of her posts that she's put up recently.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I go and I look at the comments. I'm like,
- 0:50Speaker 2: who are these random men? Yeah that are going in
- 0:53Speaker 2: there and just like her biggest fans ever.
- 0:55Speaker 3: I think that's like a big TV news thing, like
- 0:58Speaker 3: it's I'm not calling you it a fetish by any means,
- 1:01Speaker 3: but I think when you watch a beautiful woman on
- 1:04Speaker 3: your TV every single day, you start to get a
- 1:07Speaker 3: parasocial relationship with them.
- 1:09Speaker 2: I would say that's very accurate because she's She's definitely
- 1:12Speaker 2: told me about it.
- 1:13Speaker 1: She's like, yeah, you know, it's just you get.
- 1:14Speaker 2: On the TV and then all of a sudden, you
- 1:16Speaker 2: got these random men that would just they just feel
- 1:18Speaker 2: like they know you because they see you every day.
- 1:21Speaker 3: You have random men that love you and random women.
- 1:23Speaker 1: That hate you.
- 1:23Speaker 2: I'm seeing it in real time, like I'm seeing the
- 1:25Speaker 2: posts that was just up, and I was like, it's
- 1:27Speaker 2: actually very comical because these guys are like, oh my god,
- 1:30Speaker 2: you look amazing. You are so beautiful, absolutely gorgeous, firefire, fire,
- 1:34Speaker 2: hard eye heart.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I I'm like, bro, I'm in like picture number four
- 1:37Speaker 1: on the same post, like hey, my groover know hello.
- 1:42Speaker 2: But it is kind of funny because I'm like, I've
- 1:44Speaker 2: never experienced this before, and I think she's also having
- 1:47Speaker 2: to experience it with me, because even I've put up
- 1:48Speaker 2: posts before and I'll get some of them like.
- 1:51Speaker 3: Also random men are like hey.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Literally though, like my crew will be in the comments
- 1:56Speaker 2: like they don't give one f It will be a
- 1:57Speaker 2: picture of me and my girlfriend and it's like, hey,
- 2:00Speaker 2: looking good, like you literally see I'm with the You
- 2:03Speaker 2: know what, I guess that's fine.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Just because there's a goalie doesn't mean you can't score.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Exactly what it means you went not scoring on this goal.
- 2:11Speaker 2: But it's been fun, Abby. How is your weekend?
- 2:13Speaker 1: It was good. Friday.
- 2:15Speaker 3: I went out with one of our coworkers to the
- 2:17Speaker 3: twenty three year old bar also known as lower Deck.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Have you been a lower Deck?
- 2:21Speaker 2: I've never been to lower Deck. I was well in
- 2:23Speaker 2: my head, I was too old to go to lower Deck.
- 2:25Speaker 2: But now I get to see it from your eyes.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Yeah, I've never been because I thought I was too
- 2:28Speaker 3: old to go. But I went with one of our
- 2:29Speaker 3: coworkers who is recently off of a breakup, and she's like, listen,
- 2:33Speaker 3: I just want someone to go out with. So I
- 2:35Speaker 3: with her another friend and I got to feel young again.
- 2:38Speaker 3: We got to feel young and fresh again.
- 2:39Speaker 1: To what is it like? Because the only times I
- 2:41Speaker 1: go out, boy, what is it like?
- 2:43Speaker 2: I mean young again? No, because any time I go out.
- 2:47Speaker 2: It's usually for a work event. Yeah, to like those
- 2:49Speaker 2: kind of younger bars, Like if I go out to Soho,
- 2:51Speaker 2: it's because I'm working, Like I'm usually not going out
- 2:53Speaker 2: to mcdiz.
- 2:54Speaker 1: Yeah, it's does have a drink.
- 2:55Speaker 3: It's definitely the Soho crowd, although I have not been
- 2:57Speaker 3: to Soho in a minute. I mean I've gone to mcgdnt's,
- 3:00Speaker 3: but it's always at like four pm when we're working.
- 3:02Speaker 2: It's not the nine pm crowd where it's just it's
- 3:05Speaker 2: like the gremlins come out.
- 3:06Speaker 1: I know, I feel like they look younger than I remember.
- 3:09Speaker 3: He's getting older and crustier, and I feel like I
- 3:12Speaker 3: have this little radar where I'm like.
- 3:13Speaker 1: Beep beep, fake id beep beep, beep, beep beep.
- 3:16Speaker 3: But I did come across one table of guys that
- 3:18Speaker 3: I was like, I remember feeling kind of envious because
- 3:22Speaker 3: I walk in and I'm like, oh, because I feel
- 3:24Speaker 3: a little bit of sadness over losing my early twenties
- 3:26Speaker 3: to the pandemic. So when I walked in and it's
- 3:28Speaker 3: like all these people that are still kind of in
- 3:30Speaker 3: the same phase of life because after twenty five, that's
- 3:33Speaker 3: when everyone starts to break off with their people. They
- 3:35Speaker 3: grow up, people move, whereas your early twenties are so
- 3:38Speaker 3: kind of like college y, and I never got that
- 3:41Speaker 3: because of the pandemic.
- 3:42Speaker 1: And I saw this group.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Of this table of guys, and I thought they must
- 3:45Speaker 3: be like twenty four, twenty five or whatever. And I'm like,
- 3:47Speaker 3: there's not bars for twenty nine year olds like that anymore,
- 3:50Speaker 3: you know what I mean. Like you can go to
- 3:51Speaker 3: bars where people are older, but people are either in
- 3:53Speaker 3: relationships or married, or have kids or all these other
- 3:57Speaker 3: things where I'm like, oh my god, there's just like
- 3:58Speaker 3: a group of fifteen dudes and they're all hot, and
- 4:01Speaker 3: they're all age appropriate for them, and they're all probably single.
- 4:05Speaker 3: And it turns out that they were none of those things.
- 4:07Speaker 3: They were my age at a bachelor party.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Okay, so at least one was taken. Yeah, But I
- 4:12Speaker 1: think if I.
- 4:13Speaker 2: Think back, you know, there's things that I wish I
- 4:15Speaker 2: could go back and maybe do more of.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Maybe not regrets, but like that age.
- 4:20Speaker 2: It's like you said, I don't know if I missed
- 4:22Speaker 2: out necessarily because of my early twenties, but I would
- 4:24Speaker 2: go back and do things differently, Like when I got into.
- 4:27Speaker 1: My early one, sloot it up more.
- 4:29Speaker 2: I wouldn't necessarily say slut it up more, but definitely
- 4:31Speaker 2: have more careless nights or like going out to a
- 4:33Speaker 2: lower deck. I remember at that age, I was like,
- 4:35Speaker 2: I gotta be so career driven, I got to be
- 4:37Speaker 2: so locked in with where I'm going that I wasn't
- 4:40Speaker 2: at twenty three.
- 4:41Speaker 1: I literally felt old at twenty three to.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Go out to the mc ditton's or in that time
- 4:46Speaker 2: lower deck of what it would have been. But looking
- 4:48Speaker 2: at those groups now, you're like, man, just be crazy,
- 4:51Speaker 2: just wound it up for like, just take a shy,
- 4:54Speaker 2: you know, just go out and stay late. But you
- 4:55Speaker 2: think it's like, oh no, I got to be this
- 4:57Speaker 2: and that I got to have all this figured out,
- 4:59Speaker 2: and maybe it all paid off, you know, maybe it's
- 5:01Speaker 2: the right move. But when I do go out, that
- 5:03Speaker 2: is the thing that I'm envislf, I'm like, that.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Is a care free lifestyle.
- 5:08Speaker 3: I kind of feel the same way, and I think
- 5:09Speaker 3: I've just always been mentally thirty five, except for my
- 5:11Speaker 3: sophomore year of college, I was mentally fifteen. Oh yeah, but
- 5:15Speaker 3: I'm the same way where I remember my early twenties
- 5:17Speaker 3: feeling like I'm good with just like a and this
- 5:19Speaker 3: is a healthy mindset. I'm not even like really hating
- 5:21Speaker 3: on this mindset, but I'm like, oh, I'm good with
- 5:22Speaker 3: three white claws that I can go home, Whereas I'm
- 5:24Speaker 3: looking at only twenty two year olds and I'm like,
- 5:26Speaker 3: just rage too cold, could do something crazy. And I'm
- 5:28Speaker 3: sure there's an older version of me out there that's
- 5:30Speaker 3: singing the same thing where it's like, shut up about
- 5:32Speaker 3: wanting to get married, go do like a body shot
- 5:34Speaker 3: of somebody you're twenty nine.
- 5:36Speaker 2: Yes, it's exactly if I could look back and learn
- 5:38Speaker 2: from those lessons.
- 5:39Speaker 1: It's kind of the lessons I learned.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Now of like wait a second, And I was just
- 5:42Speaker 2: thinking about this as we were out and about and
- 5:44Speaker 2: like Abby and I went out to this place on
- 5:46Speaker 2: Saturday night from my girlfriend's birthday called the Sapphire and
- 5:49Speaker 2: it's this very nice bar and we're out there late.
- 5:52Speaker 2: And before we went out to that bar, the whole
- 5:54Speaker 2: mindset that I went to it with was one day
- 5:57Speaker 2: I will not want to be going out and staying
- 5:59Speaker 2: out this line, or we'll not even have the ability
- 6:01Speaker 2: to like I to stay out till midnight, Like there's
- 6:04Speaker 2: gonna be other priorities, So right now, use this time
- 6:07Speaker 2: to have those experiences.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Not all the time, because I would literally die.
- 6:11Speaker 2: I can't do it like I used to, but every
- 6:13Speaker 2: now and then just to go have a night where
- 6:15Speaker 2: it's like, holy shit, you really don't have the responsibilities
- 6:18Speaker 2: that you might think you do.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Like, yeah, and your friends don't have the responsibility so
- 6:22Speaker 3: you think they do.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Correct where it's like, not all of us are married
- 6:25Speaker 2: with kids and have like, you know, a mortgage, like
- 6:27Speaker 2: some of us just rent.
- 6:28Speaker 1: An apartment and you gotta wake up for the job
- 6:31Speaker 1: on Monday. Yeah. When you put it in that perspective,
- 6:32Speaker 1: you're like, you know what.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I'm gonna go f around and find out and let's
- 6:35Speaker 2: just see what turns out to be. Luckily, not too
- 6:37Speaker 2: stupid like the college days, yeah, but just enough fun
- 6:39Speaker 2: where it's like I'll look back on that memory very Fun'na.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Be glad that I did that.
- 6:43Speaker 3: I'm glad that I lived that specific year up to
- 6:45Speaker 3: the fullest. I'm glad that I lived like a twenty
- 6:47Speaker 3: nine year old when I was twenty nine?
- 6:48Speaker 1: What do you want to do more of before you
- 6:50Speaker 1: turn thirty? Then, since you feel like, oh we neat
- 6:53Speaker 1: do miskade. Don't do drugs. I don't even really like,
- 6:55Speaker 1: I don't like drugs. I said that the other day.
- 6:57Speaker 2: We're going over the bridge and I was like, I
- 6:59Speaker 2: don't because a friend texted me about my thirtieth birthday,
- 7:01Speaker 2: literally like he said.
- 7:02Speaker 1: Do you want me to bring the drugs? Drugs? And
- 7:04Speaker 1: it's just like electrolytes. I was snorting pink Celtic Kami
- 7:09Speaker 1: and salt.
- 7:09Speaker 2: I literally thought to myself and I said to my girlfriend.
- 7:11Speaker 2: I was like, I think I don't want to do
- 7:14Speaker 2: any of that stuff. I think I'm done with that
- 7:16Speaker 2: as in, let me go ahead and clarify, like I'm
- 7:18Speaker 2: not I've never really been into that scene. Yeah, but
- 7:20Speaker 2: like none of it really even like attracts me anymore.
- 7:22Speaker 1: I went to the isn't alcohol enough? You know what
- 7:25Speaker 1: I mean?
- 7:25Speaker 2: I think so it got a couple of drinks, you
- 7:28Speaker 2: feel okay, But even like every now and then, I
- 7:30Speaker 2: don't even know if I told like the little gummy
- 7:32Speaker 2: story on the podcast yet about like the running gummies.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Like they have these gummies.
- 7:36Speaker 3: I think you did, Yeah, you were high while you're
- 7:37Speaker 3: running it.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Yeah, And it's like that feeling like it reset for
- 7:40Speaker 2: me where I was like, I don't actually crave that,
- 7:43Speaker 2: I don't enjoy it.
- 7:43Speaker 1: I don't either.
- 7:44Speaker 3: And I learned this about myself when I was in Atlanta,
- 7:46Speaker 3: because I had never done weed until I moved to Atlanta,
- 7:49Speaker 3: or until I went to Chicago for the Tailor Swip concert.
- 7:52Speaker 3: So I was like me naively thinking that'll be such
- 7:55Speaker 3: a fun place to try weed for the first time.
- 7:57Speaker 3: So I remember I went to Sunny and there's Sunnyside
- 8:02Speaker 3: down the street.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I thought it was like a specifical place of Chicago.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm going to Sunnyside in Chicago on River North.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Like I walk in and I'm like so naively, like
- 8:09Speaker 3: talking to the attendant, and it's so dystopian because it's
- 8:12Speaker 3: this crisp white room and there's a police officer and
- 8:16Speaker 3: like a line. It feels like one of those scenes
- 8:19Speaker 3: where people check into heaven in movies. I mean, it's
- 8:22Speaker 3: like pristine white and there's you know, a couple things
- 8:24Speaker 3: on the wall. So I walk in and there's one
- 8:26Speaker 3: attendant with an iPad and she's like, are you here
- 8:28Speaker 3: for heaven?
- 8:28Speaker 1: I'm like, is that where the weed will take me?
- 8:30Speaker 1: And I just look at her, just very.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Nervously, and I go, I've never done the weed before,
- 8:35Speaker 3: and I just want to try, like a gummy, something
- 8:38Speaker 3: really chill, somebody that's gonna help me have a fun
- 8:40Speaker 3: time at the concert tonight. And she gave me these
- 8:43Speaker 3: two point five milligram Sativa gun bank and they had
- 8:47Speaker 3: a little bit of CBD in them. She's like, they
- 8:48Speaker 3: are gonna call me down, but she's like, they'll make
- 8:50Speaker 3: you happy but also calm.
- 8:52Speaker 1: I'm like, okay.
- 8:53Speaker 3: So I took them, and I remember I had like
- 8:54Speaker 3: four and I didn't feel a single thing, and so
- 8:56Speaker 3: I'm like, I must be immune to the weed.
- 8:58Speaker 1: My god, so on the bird.
- 9:00Speaker 3: So I told them this, and of course, you know,
- 9:01Speaker 3: they all enjoy having a gummy, and they're like, this
- 9:04Speaker 3: is a challenge.
- 9:05Speaker 1: So they made me take one up. They didn't make me.
- 9:06Speaker 3: They had me take one on air, which was horrifying
- 9:10Speaker 3: in hindsight, horrifying just based off some of the entertainment
- 9:13Speaker 3: stories I had to report on that day. I'm like,
- 9:14Speaker 3: oh my god, if I slip up or stutter or
- 9:16Speaker 3: say the wrong thing, or if I accidentally read that
- 9:18Speaker 3: and I don't mean too, I'm like panicking and my
- 9:20Speaker 3: mouth gets so dry when I take weed.
- 9:23Speaker 1: Yeah, that was like the worst day of work ever.
- 9:25Speaker 1: And then like a week later.
- 9:26Speaker 3: They're like, let's do gummy Roulette and then I got
- 9:28Speaker 3: the one and I'm like, absolutely not.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I supposed to.
- 9:30Speaker 3: Meet like Riley Green that night, and I was like,
- 9:32Speaker 3: I cannot be because it makes me so nervous and
- 9:34Speaker 3: so shaky and so paranoid. I cannot be like this.
- 9:36Speaker 3: My mom is coming into down.
- 9:38Speaker 1: No no weed for me, No weed for me. That's
- 9:41Speaker 1: what I've noticed, though. It makes me so anxious.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Or some people take it because it's like, oh it
- 9:45Speaker 2: mellows me out, and you know, I just could chill
- 9:47Speaker 2: with it.
- 9:47Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't get it. I wish it did.
- 9:49Speaker 3: I would rather have one delicious little gummy snack then take.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Four shots of tequila. Oh god, but respectfully, I just
- 9:57Speaker 1: feel better after the four shots of tequila. I feel better.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Are isn't that crazy?
- 10:00Speaker 3: I feel better after the four shots of literal poison
- 10:03Speaker 3: than I do for the woo woo gummy. Yeah, medicinal
- 10:07Speaker 3: medicinal treat from heaven.
- 10:09Speaker 2: And I know some people probably, well this is what
- 10:11Speaker 2: a you know what I hopefully don't get in trouble
- 10:12Speaker 2: for this. But like some people have told me, like,
- 10:15Speaker 2: you know, when you go up and like you start
- 10:17Speaker 2: doing like what is it like, Like let's say shrooms,
- 10:19Speaker 2: okay for.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Example, I've never done that. I do have no idea.
- 10:22Speaker 3: I like micros before, and I didn't think anything of it.
- 10:25Speaker 3: I was like, this was normal.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Yeah, Well that's why people are like, it's such a
- 10:28Speaker 2: different feeling.
- 10:29Speaker 1: You're gonna love it.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Like I have friends that are like, dude, you got
- 10:32Speaker 2: a trip, It's gonna be great. It's and I'm like,
- 10:35Speaker 2: I don't even like really a gummy. They're like, it's
- 10:37Speaker 2: not even close to the same. Yeah, it's such a
- 10:39Speaker 2: different feeling, you're gonna love it.
- 10:41Speaker 1: I think you'd really love it.
- 10:42Speaker 2: And based off of like what I've experienced just with
- 10:45Speaker 2: like a gummy, I'm like I'm good. Like I feel
- 10:47Speaker 2: like with alcohol, I could have a drink and be
- 10:49Speaker 2: like all right, I could catch myself on the rise up. Yeah,
- 10:53Speaker 2: where it's like once you take that, that's what you're
- 10:55Speaker 2: on the ride.
- 10:55Speaker 3: That's what sucks about it. So when I I took
- 10:58Speaker 3: too much of a gummy, I had like a a
- 11:00Speaker 3: a CBD drink maybe or a TAHD drink and then
- 11:03Speaker 3: I had a gummy because it wasn't kicking in, and
- 11:04Speaker 3: I knew that was the mistake, Like it wasn't kicking in.
- 11:07Speaker 3: And then all of a sudden, I remember I was
- 11:08Speaker 3: having Mexican food and I could just feel.
- 11:10Speaker 1: It kick in.
- 11:10Speaker 3: And it makes you feel like you were about to
- 11:13Speaker 3: throw out from alcohol, like you know that feeling. Oh,
- 11:16Speaker 3: but you won't throw up, like your body is nothing
- 11:18Speaker 3: to throw up. So you're just sitting there and.
- 11:19Speaker 1: You're like, I feel like crap, what do I do?
- 11:21Speaker 1: This is that the Taylor Swift Show.
- 11:22Speaker 3: No, this was at a This was at a place
- 11:25Speaker 3: I cannot reveal, but I was surrounded by people who
- 11:29Speaker 3: also partake, and they knew what to do in this situation,
- 11:31Speaker 3: Thank god, because I don't know what would have happened myself.
- 11:34Speaker 3: It was really scary. Actually, Yeah, so anyway, don't do drugs.
- 11:36Speaker 1: There you go, and that's suff we do drugs.
- 11:38Speaker 2: This whole podcast brought to you by Drug Free No. Yeah, like, hey,
- 11:41Speaker 2: dare see, when we did.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Red Ribbon Reek in high school, Red Red Women Week
- 11:45Speaker 3: in high school, I took that literally, I took that
- 11:47Speaker 3: oath and I said, I'm never going to do that
- 11:49Speaker 3: unless it sounds like a squeaky killing fun times.
- 11:51Speaker 1: See, I did not.
- 11:53Speaker 2: I listened to it in fifth grade and then it
- 11:54Speaker 2: changed in later grades.
- 11:57Speaker 1: But I remember in like younger years, you.
- 11:59Speaker 3: Were like tripping acid in highth school.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Okay, you know, maybe not should have been acid, but
- 12:02Speaker 1: I did. And that explains a lot when you find
- 12:04Speaker 1: that out.
- 12:04Speaker 2: My god, the holes in my brain that that you
- 12:06Speaker 2: say you get probably, but I remember those times it
- 12:09Speaker 2: was like so much more fun. But I think it
- 12:10Speaker 2: was because of the care freeness of it. Like when
- 12:13Speaker 2: you're a teenager. There's literally like what am I stressing
- 12:16Speaker 2: about my toxic relationship that I was in? Yeah, like
- 12:18Speaker 2: I have no bills to pay.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Well, I was stressing about a lot in high school.
- 12:21Speaker 2: I guess the only literally the only stress I had
- 12:23Speaker 2: in high school was just a horrible relationship I was in.
- 12:25Speaker 1: And I say that not as like, oh she was.
- 12:27Speaker 2: Horrible, said we were horrible for each other? Y, yes,
- 12:29Speaker 2: that would been the only thing.
- 12:30Speaker 1: That's why I didn't date in high school.
- 12:32Speaker 3: That the fact that men didn't like me until like
- 12:34Speaker 3: twenty four.
- 12:35Speaker 2: But if I could go again, not regrets, but like,
- 12:37Speaker 2: if I could go back and you know, one day
- 12:39Speaker 2: when I have kids, they could do what they want
- 12:41Speaker 2: and they could test out a couple relationships, but I
- 12:43Speaker 2: would advise them.
- 12:44Speaker 1: I'm like, maybe don't get into the long ones.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Like you know, yeah, in high school, it's really just
- 12:49Speaker 3: not it's not worth it. Even in college, Like I mean,
- 12:52Speaker 3: I was just talking to our coworker who's just got
- 12:54Speaker 3: a out of a college relationship. I'm like, that's hard too,
- 12:57Speaker 3: Like you either have to really make the decision that
- 12:59Speaker 3: we're going to live our lives together postgrad, like when
- 13:01Speaker 3: you're seniors, you gotta like make that decision, or otherwise
- 13:04Speaker 3: you got to break up. And the same thing with
- 13:06Speaker 3: high school, like if you guys are going to different schools, you.
- 13:08Speaker 2: Gotta break up. Just call it because I did. I
- 13:10Speaker 2: literally did both or tried to keep well, we kind
- 13:13Speaker 2: of broke up and then got together again the first semester,
- 13:15Speaker 2: and I was like, what a stupid idea. Yeah, you
- 13:18Speaker 2: just like you're literally holding yourselves back from experiencing the
- 13:22Speaker 2: full greatness of what that next chapter of life could
- 13:24Speaker 2: look like.
- 13:25Speaker 1: And then same with college. I did the same thing.
- 13:27Speaker 2: I got in a college relationship and then afterwards tried
- 13:29Speaker 2: to make it work as we are distances away, and
- 13:31Speaker 2: you learned really quick that you're like, yoh, we should
- 13:34Speaker 2: just look at this and call it what it is like,
- 13:35Speaker 2: this is not going to work.
- 13:37Speaker 1: We are just going up against.
- 13:38Speaker 2: The highest grade of a hill and we both realize
- 13:42Speaker 2: that it's nah, this is not in our cards.
- 13:44Speaker 1: But at the time it's so hard to say that though,
- 13:46Speaker 1: because at the time.
- 13:46Speaker 2: You're like, no, we could do it, and you're like,
- 13:48Speaker 2: look in ninds that You're like, there were so many
- 13:50Speaker 2: signs that it wasn't gonna work.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Could have saved ourselves an entire year. But no regrets,
- 13:54Speaker 1: no regrets, no.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Regrets, Everything's fine in that department. It gives you experience,
- 13:58Speaker 2: and that's what I've kind of learned is okay, those
- 14:01Speaker 2: experiences have helped me get to where I am now
- 14:04Speaker 2: and hopefully give me the perspective to continuously learn and
- 14:06Speaker 2: then advise and help along the journey.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Advise and help advise.
- 14:10Speaker 3: And what did you learn from your sixteen year old
- 14:12Speaker 3: relationship that if I was looking for advice, you would
- 14:16Speaker 3: you would what's the right word?
- 14:18Speaker 1: I literally can't put two words together today.
- 14:20Speaker 3: I don't know what the fugs. No, I slept great
- 14:23Speaker 3: last night. My nutrition has been on point.
- 14:25Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know if I took acid
- 14:27Speaker 1: and there's holes in my brain.
- 14:28Speaker 3: But I literally cannot put your sentences together.
- 14:30Speaker 1: I think I'm meaning dumber.
- 14:31Speaker 3: I think maybe the parasite that attacks your intestines is
- 14:34Speaker 3: attacking my brain.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Something was wrong.
- 14:36Speaker 2: I was telling Abby. I was like, I risked it all.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I had taco bell and I risked it for the parasite.
- 14:40Speaker 2: I was like, we ordered it, and are you risking
- 14:42Speaker 2: anything though? What are you risking?
- 14:43Speaker 1: A snatched waistline. Oh, I don't want to be sick
- 14:46Speaker 1: for a week.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Could you imagine, like it's so great, the sympathy you
- 14:50Speaker 3: would get, Like around the office, I'm my god.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Scott got the parasite? Hashtag have to hashtag survivor they
- 14:56Speaker 1: come in.
- 14:57Speaker 2: I come into the studio a week later, there's like
- 14:58Speaker 2: flowers all around there, gifts like you.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Did it in medium diapers.
- 15:03Speaker 2: That would be so bad. And it's honestly, you've had
- 15:07Speaker 2: food poisoning before.
- 15:08Speaker 1: Oh yeah, it is the worst.
- 15:09Speaker 2: It's like the first time I got it. I remember
- 15:12Speaker 2: I was in college and that was an experience. I
- 15:15Speaker 2: will never forget.
- 15:16Speaker 1: Like we went.
- 15:16Speaker 2: I took the fraternity out to watch the Super Bowl
- 15:19Speaker 2: at one of the little places that like, I rented out.
- 15:21Speaker 1: A movie theater and you could order food at the
- 15:23Speaker 1: movie theater. Fun. It was so great. It was.
- 15:26Speaker 2: It was not as nice as sin abstro It was
- 15:28Speaker 2: another one that was by the usf air Senta tavern.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know what.
- 15:32Speaker 2: I guess I was trying to be healthy at the time,
- 15:35Speaker 2: but I did have some salad and I had some
- 15:37Speaker 2: like beef salad or something, and it, like, my god.
- 15:40Speaker 1: The whole night it was. It was like a horror movie. God.
- 15:43Speaker 2: I climbed out of my bunk bed and I just
- 15:45Speaker 2: I literally slept on the bathroom floor in a fraternity house.
- 15:47Speaker 1: It's the worst.
- 15:49Speaker 2: You don't want to be laying on that floor, and
- 15:51Speaker 2: especially after I was done. Absolutely horrible.
- 15:53Speaker 1: So for that parasite, if you've got it, you had
- 15:56Speaker 1: it and you got it, flown it. Yeah you better fallot.
- 15:59Speaker 2: That's right over here, get yourself on a curve to
- 16:03Speaker 2: my house and enjoy yourself. So anyway back to the
- 16:06Speaker 2: no drugs, So with all that to be said, no drugs.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Will be passed around on my thirtieth birthday? Drugs? No drugs?
- 16:10Speaker 3: Are you going to Key West on the catamaran?
- 16:12Speaker 1: Have you made that decision?
- 16:13Speaker 2: I've did put it on a down payment for it,
- 16:15Speaker 2: Like it's so far it's paid for. This is actually
- 16:18Speaker 2: this is where it gets a little awkward. I've put
- 16:20Speaker 2: it down on my credit card. That's obviously a big payment.
- 16:22Speaker 1: I was like, I don't know, it's a lot of money.
- 16:24Speaker 1: It's say twenty six dollars, so a lot of money.
- 16:26Speaker 2: And I put it all down. I'm in charge of
- 16:28Speaker 2: that now until people pay me for it. But when
- 16:30Speaker 2: do you put that ask in? Do I have to
- 16:32Speaker 2: set a date with my friends to say you need
- 16:34Speaker 2: to confirm by this time?
- 16:36Speaker 3: Well, when can you cancel? Like, when's the last date
- 16:38Speaker 3: you can cancel the catamaran?
- 16:40Speaker 1: September? So give me like a randomating September sty September twentieth.
- 16:43Speaker 3: So if it's September twentieth, I would do it two
- 16:46Speaker 3: weeks before that, Okay, So you have a one day
- 16:48Speaker 3: to ask them and then everyone's gonna wait till last minute,
- 16:50Speaker 3: So then you have seven days around them and then
- 16:52Speaker 3: if it's a week before then just cancel it.
- 16:54Speaker 2: See I think Okay, that sounds about right, because I
- 16:55Speaker 2: was going to say, like by September first, like you
- 16:57Speaker 2: should have an answer.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Like I started putting the ask out this.
- 16:59Speaker 2: Week and I was like, yeah, you talk to your partner,
- 17:02Speaker 2: you guys in and if you're in money money I
- 17:04Speaker 2: need the money because my credit card bill is high
- 17:07Speaker 2: because of this damn catamaran.
- 17:08Speaker 3: Oh yeah, well, when's your credit card statement too? You
- 17:10Speaker 3: could just do that, do like a week before the
- 17:12Speaker 3: credit card statements due.
- 17:13Speaker 1: That would make way too much sense. I need a
- 17:15Speaker 1: financial too logical. Too logical. Well, I mean you're talking
- 17:18Speaker 1: to an expert.
- 17:19Speaker 3: I do this for not a living, but I'm I
- 17:21Speaker 3: have a side hustle running in girls trips.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Yeah, that's why I want to know, because I'm like,
- 17:24Speaker 2: wait a second. It's just an awkward ask of like,
- 17:26Speaker 2: oh my god, can't wait to see you. And oh,
- 17:28Speaker 2: by the way, you guys are both gonna owe me, Like.
- 17:29Speaker 3: You know, I know, but you know it's annoying to them,
- 17:32Speaker 3: even though it's logically totally fine like pay me, but
- 17:35Speaker 3: like you also know what it's annoying.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Yeah, where I'm like, look, you might be in your
- 17:38Speaker 2: own financial thing and I'm asking you to do this
- 17:39Speaker 2: for me. But then on my side of it, I'm like,
- 17:42Speaker 2: I literally found the cheapest thing.
- 17:43Speaker 1: That we could do.
- 17:44Speaker 2: It's a trip for all of us. Yeah, it's gonna
- 17:45Speaker 2: be super fun. And I need that money right now
- 17:47Speaker 2: so I can pay off my credit card bill. Thank you,
- 17:49Speaker 2: love you.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Love you mean it. I think that's reasonable right before
- 17:52Speaker 1: your credit card payment.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Okay, well I'm gonna make it even shorter than because
- 17:55Speaker 2: I want the payment by the end of August.
- 17:56Speaker 3: So end of August is when your credit card's due. Yeah,
- 17:59Speaker 3: like they do it like three days before. Then just
- 18:01Speaker 3: be like, hey, my credit card statements, do are you
- 18:03Speaker 3: coming or not?
- 18:03Speaker 2: Yeah? Because so far it's just the ask like you guys,
- 18:05Speaker 2: you're in, and then they say yeah the next question,
- 18:08Speaker 2: I went, well, then Venmo.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Venmo pay me up please.
- 18:11Speaker 3: You can always just send a Venmo request and be like, hey,
- 18:13Speaker 3: can you send this to me by August twenty fifth
- 18:15Speaker 3: or what?
- 18:15Speaker 1: Oh that's true. I should probably have the numbers kind.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Of like, and then you can remind them and be
- 18:18Speaker 3: like ding ding me.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Like I need the money where you could zell like
- 18:22Speaker 1: an adult, I do so I sell my dad.
- 18:24Speaker 3: I love Zell The only thing that stresses me out
- 18:26Speaker 3: about Zell is I hate that I have to log
- 18:27Speaker 3: into my banking app, Like I wish I could just
- 18:30Speaker 3: go to like a different app, Like I wish.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Zell had a Venmo app, Do you know what I mean?
- 18:34Speaker 3: Like, I love that with Venmo, I can just go
- 18:35Speaker 3: on to Venmo, whereas Zel I have to log in
- 18:37Speaker 3: and then like all my bank account statements up there
- 18:39Speaker 3: and like Abby saved four dollars.
- 18:41Speaker 1: People don't need to know that. Then they're like, why
- 18:42Speaker 1: you Venmo with me? It makes me want to get
- 18:45Speaker 1: one of those screen privacy thing.
- 18:46Speaker 2: I don't know if you have one of these, but
- 18:47Speaker 2: like where it turns your phone, it's crazy, turn it
- 18:50Speaker 2: sideways and it's whole thing's black.
- 18:51Speaker 3: I want to get one of those two purely because
- 18:53Speaker 3: I was sitting next to one of our coworkers in
- 18:54Speaker 3: the sales meeting yesterday and normally Scotty and I stand
- 18:57Speaker 3: in the back and we just sit on our phones.
- 18:59Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm here, this is enough. Yeah, you see
- 19:01Speaker 1: my face, you see my face. I'm here.
- 19:02Speaker 3: I sat with one of our coworkers, so it's going
- 19:04Speaker 3: to the breakup, and I wanted to.
- 19:05Speaker 1: Go on my phone.
- 19:06Speaker 3: I'm I can't get on my phone because they're all
- 19:07Speaker 3: just going to see them on Instagram.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Well, yeah, but you're allowed to be Well I guess
- 19:10Speaker 2: you're not because you decided to sit.
- 19:12Speaker 3: But I know the weirdos behind me are going to
- 19:13Speaker 3: be like, oh what I be looking at? And it's
- 19:15Speaker 3: gonna be like Belmont Caamelli fan.
- 19:16Speaker 1: At it's and they're like, which is Dan By? He's
- 19:18Speaker 1: a perb? I know.
- 19:19Speaker 3: Yeah. The thing is Dan would Roastby though, Yeah, yeah,
- 19:22Speaker 3: Dam would say something.
- 19:22Speaker 1: You know What's cool?
- 19:23Speaker 2: Okay, so we have this coworker Dan, Dan does like
- 19:25Speaker 2: all the events.
- 19:26Speaker 1: He's a super chill guy. I didn't talk to Dan
- 19:28Speaker 1: for like that. I don't know.
- 19:28Speaker 2: The first four years I worked here, didn't really know much,
- 19:30Speaker 2: didn't really talk to Dan really rude extremely on me.
- 19:33Speaker 2: I'll put that on my shoulders.
- 19:35Speaker 1: I suck.
- 19:35Speaker 2: However, once you start talking to Dan and I'm realizing
- 19:38Speaker 2: he sucks, No, let me again.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Actually, Dan's probably a big fan of this podcast, do
- 19:42Speaker 1: you think so? Probably? Also, you know who's also a
- 19:45Speaker 1: big fan of this podcast?
- 19:46Speaker 3: Were you there when our director of sales says his
- 19:48Speaker 3: girlfriend listens to this, Yes.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Should we wave to her the insider of it.
- 19:52Speaker 2: It is fun though, when you learn like the people
- 19:54Speaker 2: that you work near actually listen.
- 19:55Speaker 3: It is because I'm always shocked at who listens and
- 19:58Speaker 3: who doesn't listen, and also who's says they don't listen.
- 20:00Speaker 3: But I know that they listen because they'll bring up things.
- 20:02Speaker 3: I'm like, you would only know that if you listen
- 20:04Speaker 3: to the podcast.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Yeah, like, don't lie details.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Don't be like going and listen to the podcast and
- 20:09Speaker 3: I'll listen usually like your friends, Yeah, like I know
- 20:11Speaker 3: that you listen.
- 20:12Speaker 1: That's stupid.
- 20:13Speaker 2: Well, that's I was talking, and I do want to
- 20:15Speaker 2: share a little bit of the details that went down
- 20:16Speaker 2: this weekend with the birthday celebrations.
- 20:18Speaker 1: But I was talking to my girlfriend.
- 20:19Speaker 2: I was like, it was very refreshing when we first
- 20:21Speaker 2: met because you know, we didn't really know anything about
- 20:24Speaker 2: each other. But in the industries that we work, it's
- 20:26Speaker 2: so common that you go out and it's like, oh,
- 20:28Speaker 2: I already know everything about you, and I'm just waiting
- 20:30Speaker 2: to see like when I could reveal.
- 20:31Speaker 1: That's how I felt in Atlanta. For sure, you go
- 20:34Speaker 1: out with somebody and you're like, you already listen.
- 20:37Speaker 3: Well, they would like I remember right after I went
- 20:39Speaker 3: to Ireland. It was the middle of summer and I
- 20:41Speaker 3: went out with a guy and he ordered a Guinness
- 20:43Speaker 3: and it was like ninety five degrees and I'm like,
- 20:45Speaker 3: it is a little weird, but I just clocked it
- 20:46Speaker 3: and didn't say anything, and then he just kept finding
- 20:48Speaker 3: excuses to bring up Ireland, and I'm like, Okay, now
- 20:51Speaker 3: it's a little obvious.
- 20:52Speaker 1: So would that be the right move to just bring
- 20:54Speaker 1: it up immediately instead.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Of like, well, I'd rather well, I mean, take it
- 20:57Speaker 3: from my perspective, like if I went out with the
- 20:59Speaker 3: guy and I just started being like, oh my god,
- 21:01Speaker 3: I went on your Instagram and I saw that you
- 21:02Speaker 3: went to Ireland with your aunt Kathy and your mom
- 21:05Speaker 3: and your dad.
- 21:05Speaker 1: How was that.
- 21:06Speaker 3: You'd be like a little weird at out right. It's
- 21:08Speaker 3: a little bit different since we do that, but I
- 21:10Speaker 3: think they would have to fess up immediately, be like,
- 21:12Speaker 3: Oh'm a big fan of your TikTok, I actually follow you.
- 21:14Speaker 1: And then it's yeah, I guess you just you have
- 21:15Speaker 1: to bite the bullet. You can hide it.
- 21:17Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:17Speaker 2: That's like when I've gone out with people and it's like, oh,
- 21:20Speaker 2: I already know this story about you, but I just
- 21:22Speaker 2: didn't want.
- 21:22Speaker 3: To say who did you go out with because you
- 21:23Speaker 3: were in a long term relationship for like four years.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I mean that last relationship, like listen to
- 21:29Speaker 2: the show pretty much.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Every day, A fan, Yeah, kind of, but I would
- 21:32Speaker 1: say she would say she was not a fan of me.
- 21:34Speaker 2: She liked the show, and I came on the show, okay,
- 21:37Speaker 2: So then it was like, oh, well, I'm already kind
- 21:38Speaker 2: of part of it. And then that kind of led
- 21:41Speaker 2: to the start of like we should go out.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Did she bring up anything that you had set on
- 21:44Speaker 3: air while you guys were in the early stages of dating.
- 21:47Speaker 1: I honestly don't remember.
- 21:48Speaker 2: I think it was one of those situations where it's like,
- 21:49Speaker 2: you know, but you don't bring up Yeah, It's like
- 21:52Speaker 2: you probably did because I shared everything. I shared the
- 21:55Speaker 2: breakups that I went through, the hardships of my family,
- 21:58Speaker 2: the graduating of like littlething, and so I guess anybody
- 22:01Speaker 2: that listens and people still remember those stories now and
- 22:03Speaker 2: it's like, yeah, I rather you, honestly just bring it
- 22:06Speaker 2: up this way. I don't have to wait till I
- 22:08Speaker 2: tell you something yeah, because then it's like, oh, wait,
- 22:10Speaker 2: you alreadyknew the whole time.
- 22:11Speaker 1: You've got to skip the whole bunch of this, Like
- 22:12Speaker 1: that would have helped.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I would rather than just be like, oh, I
- 22:14Speaker 3: see you on my Instagram all the time.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but I think they think it's.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Weird yeah to bring up because then you kind of
- 22:19Speaker 2: feel like you're creeping on.
- 22:20Speaker 3: But it's not because I'm like, if you don't see
- 22:22Speaker 3: me on your timeline, I'm not doing my job right.
- 22:24Speaker 1: That's how I feel.
- 22:25Speaker 3: If you like have no idea, not that I need
- 22:27Speaker 3: to date somebody who's seen my Instagram or my TikTok,
- 22:29Speaker 3: but if you have seen me organically on your four
- 22:31Speaker 3: you page, I'm like, oh, I'm doing something right.
- 22:33Speaker 2: I wonder if it hurts now because it's so cool. Honestly,
- 22:37Speaker 2: kudos to you, Abby, because everyone I was talking to
- 22:39Speaker 2: over the weekend was like, oh my god, yeah I
- 22:41Speaker 2: know Abby, Like I've seen all over my feed with
- 22:43Speaker 2: Bais on Bayshore.
- 22:44Speaker 1: I'm like, are you talking to that saying that? Why
- 22:45Speaker 1: are they saying that to me? I don't.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Literally the whole bar that I was sitting with, everyone
- 22:49Speaker 2: that you saw me talking to, they.
- 22:51Speaker 1: All I was like, oh yeah, that's my co host.
- 22:52Speaker 2: And they're like, oh yeah, I see here all the
- 22:53Speaker 2: time on Instagram. Because I was talking to one of
- 22:56Speaker 2: the reporters for one of the actually they're both reporters
- 22:58Speaker 2: for new stations here, and I was like, as single.
- 23:00Speaker 1: They're like, yeah, weird question to kind of bring up.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Yeah, brought it up because they're like, oh yeah, I
- 23:06Speaker 2: see it all the time on my feet.
- 23:07Speaker 1: I'm like, that's so dope. I was literally like I
- 23:09Speaker 1: can get you all on.
- 23:10Speaker 3: No, literally, I mean and please by all means, like,
- 23:12Speaker 3: come on, because I am still uncomfortable approaching people like
- 23:15Speaker 3: on Base ORKCS.
- 23:16Speaker 1: I don't want to ruin their workout.
- 23:17Speaker 3: It's not that I'm afraid to approach them, because I'll
- 23:19Speaker 3: approach people if we're at a bar and be like,
- 23:21Speaker 3: oh my god, a you're single, Like.
- 23:22Speaker 1: I have the show.
- 23:23Speaker 3: I don't know if you know this, but I don't
- 23:25Speaker 3: want to like ruin someone's workout. So I'd rather than
- 23:27Speaker 3: just be like, oh yeah, I'd be interested in coming
- 23:28Speaker 3: on because then they can pre prepare, they can think
- 23:30Speaker 3: of stories, and it's overall just a better situation for everybody.
- 23:33Speaker 1: I think that's the better.
- 23:34Speaker 2: I think that shows like and this is the behind
- 23:36Speaker 2: the scenes of it, Like it should be that, it
- 23:38Speaker 2: should be prepared, it should be somebody that's accepting. And
- 23:40Speaker 2: I don't think you should just be randomly approaching people
- 23:42Speaker 2: on base short.
- 23:43Speaker 3: Yeah, cause I think it would just I'd become like
- 23:45Speaker 3: one of those people that people make fun of. They'd
- 23:46Speaker 3: be like, oh, that cringey Tampa TikToker who's constantly like
- 23:49Speaker 3: ruining people's workouts, Like I just wanted to be like
- 23:52Speaker 3: a fun, fun little dating show.
- 23:53Speaker 2: He yeah, or it looks like you're just grabbing people
- 23:56Speaker 2: off of Bay Shore. Yeah, but no, it doesn't need
- 23:58Speaker 2: to be like that because people wuldn't sign up.
- 24:00Speaker 1: For it there.
- 24:00Speaker 2: And then if you're not good and I don't know
- 24:02Speaker 2: who's really good at rejection, but like to just constantly
- 24:05Speaker 2: get rejected constantly, I would be probably twenty to one.
- 24:08Speaker 1: I do think one day.
- 24:08Speaker 3: W'd be fun to challenge myself to like day drink
- 24:11Speaker 3: a little and then go out there and then just
- 24:13Speaker 3: because I think on like a Saturday afternoon, people would
- 24:15Speaker 3: be down. But if it's like a Tuesday night and
- 24:17Speaker 3: someone's like getting their run in, I don't want to
- 24:18Speaker 3: be like, hey.
- 24:19Speaker 1: You wanna come ure. I have a little Instagram show.
- 24:24Speaker 3: But it's been fun and it is crazy that this
- 24:26Speaker 3: is the one thing out of all all the things
- 24:28Speaker 3: I put incredible hard work into.
- 24:30Speaker 1: It's like the one thing I get noticed for. Yeah,
- 24:32Speaker 1: where it's like this out of everything. I know you've
- 24:34Speaker 1: done multiple shows. You the BA Short Girl. Yeah, I
- 24:37Speaker 1: guess I am.
- 24:38Speaker 2: But it just shows how much people have been craving
- 24:40Speaker 2: that I was talking to on the show that we
- 24:42Speaker 2: do for Fox thirteen Florida for Real. We talked to
- 24:45Speaker 2: these guys that started a dating show in Tampa and
- 24:47Speaker 2: it's literally kind of like your idea where they find
- 24:50Speaker 2: two singles and then they literally go to a restaurant
- 24:53Speaker 2: and film it like a dating show. I love that
- 24:54Speaker 2: they film their first encounters, they film the conversation, and
- 24:57Speaker 2: then they see if it's a match.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I haven't seen these people. What do they call it?
- 24:59Speaker 1: I don't remember.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Based off at the top is they're not very memorable.
- 25:03Speaker 1: It's very news.
- 25:04Speaker 3: See that would never happen on Base on beijhre Well
- 25:06Speaker 3: that people always call it baser bays, So I'm like,
- 25:08Speaker 3: do I just need to change it now?
- 25:09Speaker 1: Now?
- 25:10Speaker 3: I'm like it's base because they're or there. It's based
- 25:12Speaker 3: on beshore because they're bays on what do they call
- 25:15Speaker 3: it bare base, which is not not basehor bass, because
- 25:17Speaker 3: that's the ad, but it's that's because.
- 25:19Speaker 1: It was short. That might be because yeah, if that's
- 25:21Speaker 1: the one that pops up.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Quickly, yeah, I guess it's fine, that works whatever, but.
- 25:24Speaker 2: You could probably get in time. If I find their name,
- 25:26Speaker 2: I'll send it your way. But I think your stem
- 25:29Speaker 2: of a show has kind of kicked off theirs, but
- 25:31Speaker 2: they're turning it into like TV style where it's like
- 25:33Speaker 2: long form content instead of the sixty seconds on Instagram.
- 25:37Speaker 1: Now, the dating scene here is really bad. Did I
- 25:39Speaker 1: tell you?
- 25:39Speaker 3: Did I talk on the podcast already that I did,
- 25:41Speaker 3: Jocko's running podcast.
- 25:43Speaker 1: No, you didn't talk about any anything that you guys
- 25:45Speaker 1: talked about. So last week I.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Got interviewed by our friend Jocko. If you heard the
- 25:49Speaker 3: Italian Influencer episode Feel Like Cool, I remember him. He
- 25:52Speaker 3: asked me to come on his running podcast, so he
- 25:54Speaker 3: like films and runs with you and asks you questions
- 25:56Speaker 3: and I lied on one of my answers just for
- 25:59Speaker 3: the same of not wanting to get into a dissertation
- 26:02Speaker 3: because I've seen his show before, so I'm like, oh,
- 26:04Speaker 3: it needs to be quick concise, and I've got to
- 26:06Speaker 3: like land the plane quickly. He said, Oh, why do
- 26:09Speaker 3: you think dating and Tampa's so bad? And I genuinely
- 26:11Speaker 3: think dating and Tampa is objectively horrible compared to other
- 26:14Speaker 3: places that I've lived, Like Jacksonville wasn't great because there
- 26:17Speaker 3: wasn't a huge dating pool. Atlanta wasn't great because a
- 26:20Speaker 3: lot of the people get married at twenty four, But
- 26:22Speaker 3: I wouldn't say Atlanta was like horrible. Like the dates
- 26:24Speaker 3: that I did go on on in Atlanta were fine,
- 26:26Speaker 3: but the dates that I've gone on in Tampa.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Are like objectively really bad. Not all of them.
- 26:31Speaker 3: I've been on like one or two fine ones, but
- 26:34Speaker 3: like some of the ones that I've been on have
- 26:35Speaker 3: been really really bad, like really bad.
- 26:38Speaker 1: It blows my mind.
- 26:39Speaker 2: And I don't know if it's you say it's Tampa's
- 26:41Speaker 2: and I have no saying this because gosh, dang, I
- 26:44Speaker 2: found a goal.
- 26:45Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 26:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I have fine, and it's not everyone in Allow,
- 26:48Speaker 3: scot No.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Life is just thank god.
- 26:50Speaker 2: But I did see recently, like I have friends that
- 26:52Speaker 2: live in different parts of the country and like, I
- 26:54Speaker 2: have a friend that's in Texas right now, and I've
- 26:56Speaker 2: been following her sag of dating and it's literally like
- 26:58Speaker 2: the same of the guys she goes on dates on
- 27:00Speaker 2: are just it's not even like you, we're not a match.
- 27:03Speaker 2: It's like genuinely horrible.
- 27:05Speaker 1: It's like coming bad.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Yeah, well, it's like you're questioning every decision. You're judging me.
- 27:10Speaker 1: For my past. Uh huh.
- 27:12Speaker 3: Like in Atlanta it felt like, Okay, this guy's just
- 27:14Speaker 3: not my person, like totally fine, dude, just not working.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Where sometimes I'll go up with these guys in Tampa,
- 27:20Speaker 3: I'm like, what's wrong with you? What did I tell
- 27:22Speaker 3: the stake story on here?
- 27:23Speaker 1: I think I did. I went to steel Back and
- 27:25Speaker 1: he wanted to.
- 27:26Speaker 3: Feed me steak, and I'm like, that's a crazy thing
- 27:28Speaker 3: to say to me. And if you don't believe me,
- 27:30Speaker 3: I've been preaching the fact that married at first sight
- 27:32Speaker 3: is like the perfect temperature check for what dating is
- 27:35Speaker 3: like right now. And I'm not saying those women are
- 27:37Speaker 3: perfect and there's nothing wrong with them, but I'm saying, like,
- 27:40Speaker 3: look at Niki, and you haven't seen the show, look
- 27:43Speaker 3: at NICKI versus Sean. The matchmakers paired her up with
- 27:46Speaker 3: a man.
- 27:47Speaker 1: That man is gay. That man is gay, and.
- 27:49Speaker 3: She's like a successful hr exactly makes like two hundred
- 27:52Speaker 3: fifty thousand dollars a year. She's fit, she's beautiful, she's successful,
- 27:56Speaker 3: and then they pair her up with a man who
- 27:57Speaker 3: I do not think likes women. Right.
- 27:59Speaker 2: I feel like, literally, I have to watch the show
- 28:01Speaker 2: just to see what you're talking about.
- 28:02Speaker 1: You need to watch it.
- 28:03Speaker 3: There's another guy who's just obsessed with himself. He got
- 28:05Speaker 3: mad at his wife, who didn't know him at the time.
- 28:09Speaker 3: They give them gifts before the wedding, and she gifted
- 28:12Speaker 3: him like a fireball shot and he goes, well, I
- 28:14Speaker 3: don't drink and just complained about that. I'm like, she
- 28:16Speaker 3: doesn't know you, bro literally, and she made a joke
- 28:18Speaker 3: about wanting to make mac and cheese with him, and
- 28:20Speaker 3: he goes, wo, that's carcinogens and that's gonna give you cancer.
- 28:22Speaker 3: And meanwhile it's this objectively beautiful, again, employed woman, fit.
- 28:27Speaker 3: He even finds her attractive, and he's he's like, I'll
- 28:29Speaker 3: train her, I'll train her to be an athlete.
- 28:31Speaker 1: It's just crazy.
- 28:32Speaker 2: That's insane to me because that's the thing that I
- 28:34Speaker 2: see constantly, and that's I don't know, maybe it's getting
- 28:36Speaker 2: out of the Tampa scene and then going to like,
- 28:38Speaker 2: I don't know, a Wesley Chapel scene.
- 28:40Speaker 3: But I mean, to be fair, the show is taking
- 28:42Speaker 3: place in Seattle right now, so it might not just
- 28:44Speaker 3: be Tampa.
- 28:45Speaker 1: It might just be dudes.
- 28:46Speaker 3: And more women are choosing to be single because we're like,
- 28:49Speaker 3: why would I date somebody who doesn't make.
- 28:51Speaker 1: My life better? Absolutely, which is.
- 28:53Speaker 3: So annoying because it's like we're not supposed to be alone.
- 28:55Speaker 3: You're supposed to find companionship.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Do you think it's always been like this though? And
- 28:59Speaker 2: now it's just amplified because we see it all the time,
- 29:02Speaker 2: kind of like with everything, Like we had a call
- 29:03Speaker 2: the other day, like you know, crime has always been there,
- 29:06Speaker 2: but now we see it all the time because it's
- 29:07Speaker 2: on Instagram.
- 29:08Speaker 1: And I said, sir, I agree.
- 29:10Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, I do think we see things way
- 29:12Speaker 2: more than we ever have, so it makes it feel
- 29:14Speaker 2: like it's always happening. But I do wonder like if
- 29:17Speaker 2: we went back to like our grandparents' age, and are
- 29:19Speaker 2: they going on dates with just like horrible guys?
- 29:22Speaker 1: But was the dating pool so small that eventually you're
- 29:24Speaker 1: just like shit.
- 29:25Speaker 2: I gotta pick old John because John's not that bad
- 29:29Speaker 2: compared to like Jerry that I went out.
- 29:31Speaker 1: With last week. I did just see this on Instagram.
- 29:33Speaker 3: Somebody just wrote an essay on have people been settling
- 29:37Speaker 3: up until now?
- 29:37Speaker 1: That's a good essay.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Let me pull it up because I did like it
- 29:39Speaker 3: on Instagram. But I do have a theory, and I
- 29:41Speaker 3: don't think there's just one answer for it. I think
- 29:43Speaker 3: if there was one answer for it, we could just
- 29:44Speaker 3: figure out a solution and then move forward. Of course,
- 29:46Speaker 3: I think it's way more convoluted, but let me see,
- 29:49Speaker 3: let me pull it up.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Gosh, Okay, maybe gen Z isn't bad at love.
- 29:55Speaker 3: Maybe everyone before us just settled. We were raised to
- 29:58Speaker 3: believe in soulmates, but we we're taught by modern dating
- 30:01Speaker 3: not to settle.
- 30:01Speaker 1: New York Times best selling.
- 30:02Speaker 3: Author, philosopher and social critic Bell Hooks explores the notion
- 30:06Speaker 3: of love in her two thousand and one book All
- 30:08Speaker 3: about Love, New Visions, as she states that love saves
- 30:11Speaker 3: us only if we want.
- 30:12Speaker 1: To be saved.
- 30:12Speaker 3: But blah blah blah blah, we have unrealistic expectations. Members
- 30:15Speaker 3: of gen Z cite the male loneliness epidemic, the rise
- 30:18Speaker 3: of far right politics, and increasing educational and career achievements
- 30:22Speaker 3: among women as some of the reasons behind the so
- 30:25Speaker 3: called love crisis. Nearly every gen X and boomer marriage
- 30:28Speaker 3: I have witness hasn't strictly followed the traditional image of
- 30:31Speaker 3: love often portrayed in films and media, With trends such
- 30:34Speaker 3: as I Hate my Boyfriend and swag get couple taking
- 30:36Speaker 3: over social media, some members of gen Z appear to
- 30:39Speaker 3: hold negative views towards their partners despite being in committed relationships.
- 30:42Speaker 3: People are no longer willing to settle, instead searching for
- 30:44Speaker 3: someone who truly aligns with their experiences.
- 30:46Speaker 1: In world view.
- 30:47Speaker 3: I don't know if any of that made sense, but
- 30:49Speaker 3: it's by at Row magazine if you want to.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Look it up.
- 30:52Speaker 2: I definitely want to check it out, because I do
- 30:54Speaker 2: think that's a big part of it where you shouldn't settle.
- 30:56Speaker 2: If there's something that you're going after, you should go
- 30:59Speaker 2: and try to find it, because if I could look
- 31:01Speaker 2: and be honest, I have so many people I'm not
- 31:03Speaker 2: even gonna say friends, I'll just say acquaintances that if
- 31:06Speaker 2: you go on your feed, you kind of wonder yourself
- 31:09Speaker 2: either are you settling or you have friends now, like
- 31:11Speaker 2: about to be thirty, I've already have a half of
- 31:13Speaker 2: my friends that have been divorced. And I'm like, my god,
- 31:15Speaker 2: did you just get so excited or infatuated by the
- 31:17Speaker 2: idea of being married that you just thought, this is
- 31:20Speaker 2: what I'm supposed to do.
- 31:21Speaker 1: Let's just go ahead and do it.
- 31:22Speaker 3: That was shocking to me when I realized some people
- 31:24Speaker 3: are just choosing people.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Yes, we're like, oh, this is good enough, and that
- 31:28Speaker 2: for me, that phrase this is just good enough, that's
- 31:31Speaker 2: the phrase that scares the shit out of me, like
- 31:32Speaker 2: literally with everything with like career relationships, friendships.
- 31:36Speaker 1: That I don't know. For me, my personal belief is
- 31:38Speaker 1: I'm like, we got one life. That's how I feel.
- 31:40Speaker 3: When people are like, why are you single, I'm like
- 31:42Speaker 3: why I don't want to just like pick some dude.
- 31:44Speaker 1: And like you should.
- 31:45Speaker 2: I don't know why it's so hard to be wooed,
- 31:47Speaker 2: like be wooed, have the person that goes above and beyond,
- 31:50Speaker 2: do the extra steps.
- 31:52Speaker 3: So my theories to why dating is hard now is twofold.
- 31:55Speaker 3: The first is that I don't think men were taught
- 31:59Speaker 3: the artic courtship because it wasn't a requirement. Like I
- 32:02Speaker 3: think sixty years ago, you knew, okay, I'm at some
- 32:06Speaker 3: point going to be societally accepted, at some point, get
- 32:09Speaker 3: married and have kids. So I feel like the parents
- 32:11Speaker 3: were teaching them the art of courtship, ask a girl
- 32:13Speaker 3: to go on a date, to a dance or take
- 32:15Speaker 3: her to movies, whereas they are generation of men were
- 32:19Speaker 3: raised by women who didn't have to court, or who
- 32:22Speaker 3: weren't raised in an environment where courtship was necessary. Like
- 32:25Speaker 3: my mom was the first generation of women that grew
- 32:27Speaker 3: up knowing that they could get a credit card and
- 32:30Speaker 3: start a.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Business or get alone.
- 32:32Speaker 3: And so those same women that were raising my mom
- 32:34Speaker 3: or raising sons who are growing up with the mindset that, yeah,
- 32:38Speaker 3: women can be independent. So there wasn't like a need
- 32:40Speaker 3: to get into some kind of relationship. And so because
- 32:42Speaker 3: no one's being taught how to date, you have this
- 32:44Speaker 3: whole generation of men who don't feel the need to
- 32:47Speaker 3: start courting women, and instead a lot of their first
- 32:50Speaker 3: romantic situations are usually in college or postgrad in high school,
- 32:55Speaker 3: where a lot of people aren't willing to put themselves
- 32:57Speaker 3: out there romantically because I don't think the risk necessarily
- 33:00Speaker 3: matches the reward, because like, what am I gonna do
- 33:02Speaker 3: get married at twenty one?
- 33:03Speaker 1: So it's just this hookup culture.
- 33:05Speaker 3: So men are being taught that, you know, they should
- 33:07Speaker 3: just start hooking up with girls and those are their
- 33:09Speaker 3: first romantic liaisons, and women are finding that if they
- 33:11Speaker 3: want romantic attention, you've got to go into a casual
- 33:14Speaker 3: relationship first.
- 33:15Speaker 1: And so we kind of fucked up there.
- 33:17Speaker 3: And then also then I think people are just kind
- 33:19Speaker 3: of like, well, let me just like choose someone, like
- 33:20Speaker 3: I've been hooking up with this person for two years.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Why not? Yeah, like we seem compatible enough.
- 33:24Speaker 3: And then you also have a generation of women who
- 33:27Speaker 3: maybe weren't willing to settle for that are incredibly financially
- 33:29Speaker 3: independent and realize, okay, well I've been sold this idea
- 33:34Speaker 3: that if I just wait long enough for the right person,
- 33:36Speaker 3: they're gonna come along, and so I'm just going to
- 33:38Speaker 3: continue to financially support myself until then.
- 33:40Speaker 1: This is so hard.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Does that make any sense?
- 33:42Speaker 1: Yes, it does.
- 33:43Speaker 2: I think one guy's being you know, not being taught
- 33:47Speaker 2: how to properly like, yeah, let's just say I'm gonna
- 33:50Speaker 2: say woo again.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Like like did your dad over? Did your dad or
- 33:53Speaker 1: your mom teach you how to date?
- 33:55Speaker 2: They didn't teach me how to date, but they did
- 33:57Speaker 2: teach me proper manners. Like I learned a lot watching them.
- 34:00Speaker 2: And I also again like my mom gave me great
- 34:02Speaker 2: lessons on how to properly respect someone. That was something
- 34:06Speaker 2: I just took anywhere I went. And then I also,
- 34:08Speaker 2: like just I realized in my later twenties even like recently,
- 34:12Speaker 2: because no one taught me how to date or how
- 34:14Speaker 2: relationships would function. I literally just look back at my
- 34:17Speaker 2: previous history and I was like, where did I mess up?
- 34:19Speaker 1: Like what happened here? Why did these fights happen?
- 34:22Speaker 2: And that's literally like the past couple year, I've just
- 34:24Speaker 2: been studying relationships. Yeah, because I just nobody teaches you.
- 34:27Speaker 3: But when you were in high school, did your dad
- 34:29Speaker 3: ever look at you and say, well, there's a dance
- 34:31Speaker 3: coming up.
- 34:31Speaker 1: Who you're gonna ask? Correct? Yes, that's what I'm asking?
- 34:34Speaker 2: Yeah, Like okay, I would be taught like how to
- 34:36Speaker 2: ask out a girl. You should go above and beyond
- 34:38Speaker 2: for it, get the little presage for it.
- 34:41Speaker 1: You dress up nicely and show up at the door.
- 34:43Speaker 2: And I've even said it before, like I had the
- 34:44Speaker 2: dad that opened the door with a shotgun in his
- 34:46Speaker 2: hand multiple times, where it's like, you're won't respect my
- 34:49Speaker 2: daughter and you're gonna have her home boy ten And
- 34:51Speaker 2: I said, yes, sir, I will uh huh. And I
- 34:53Speaker 2: was taught the proper ways of respect, I think because
- 34:56Speaker 2: of those parents that stepped in. Yeah, but that wasn't
- 34:59Speaker 2: like a lesson.
- 35:01Speaker 1: It was just like little bits and pieces that I
- 35:03Speaker 1: just started adding together.
- 35:04Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess I'm just trying to figure out the
- 35:05Speaker 3: difference between you who started dating in high school, like
- 35:07Speaker 3: you had girlfriends in high school. I did, And I
- 35:10Speaker 3: think there's a big chunk of just sort of the
- 35:12Speaker 3: average in between her dude who And I'm thinking about
- 35:15Speaker 3: like people like my brother. And my brother's perfectly successful
- 35:17Speaker 3: and fine and eventually got married. But I don't think
- 35:20Speaker 3: he ever asked out a girl in high school. And
- 35:22Speaker 3: I don't think it was ever made to be like
- 35:24Speaker 3: a requirement like, oh, there's a dance coming up, you
- 35:26Speaker 3: should ask out a girl, And so you're just kind
- 35:28Speaker 3: of copying out of that until you get to college,
- 35:30Speaker 3: when the stakes are a little bit lower, when you
- 35:32Speaker 3: can just kind of like make out with a girl
- 35:33Speaker 3: and then maybe you just make out long enough that
- 35:36Speaker 3: one day she becomes a girlfriend.
- 35:37Speaker 2: That's such an interesting thought because I don't even know
- 35:39Speaker 2: why it started for me.
- 35:40Speaker 1: I think, is you all grew It's like, how small
- 35:42Speaker 1: was your town? I mean it wasn't.
- 35:44Speaker 3: My graduating class is maybe five hundred kids, Okay, so
- 35:47Speaker 3: a high school of two thousand kids.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Okay, like ours was the same.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Like I'm not saying I lived in a small small town,
- 35:52Speaker 2: but it was definitely maybe because the families were so
- 35:54Speaker 2: rooted and it was a little because you also was
- 35:56Speaker 2: still Southern leaning. Yeah, I'm trying to compare it because
- 35:59Speaker 2: I had my first ever girlfriend was like literally in
- 36:02Speaker 2: elementary school, like fifth grade.
- 36:03Speaker 1: I had a straight up quote unquote girlfriend. It's crazy crazy.
- 36:06Speaker 2: And then through middle school you have a couple of
- 36:08Speaker 2: different little like girlfriends. I would last like I don't know,
- 36:10Speaker 2: a month, three months.
- 36:12Speaker 3: Yeah, and that happened in my middle school. Like they
- 36:13Speaker 3: would you know, there was a girlfriend boyfriend. They would
- 36:15Speaker 3: last like two months and then they break up. Yeah,
- 36:17Speaker 3: Like there was that happening for sure. And I'm not
- 36:19Speaker 3: even saying that people didn't do that at my high school.
- 36:21Speaker 3: I think I represent the literal average of like the
- 36:25Speaker 3: typical experience of growing up and a sh medium sized
- 36:29Speaker 3: city with the sort of average.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Gen Z gen Z millennial.
- 36:34Speaker 3: And I remember like it wasn't cool to ask people
- 36:37Speaker 3: out to dances, like that didn't really happen until Mabe,
- 36:39Speaker 3: you were a junior or senior in high school.
- 36:40Speaker 2: That's okay, because that's what I remember, Like I would
- 36:43Speaker 2: get the whole sign. I would do the things the
- 36:45Speaker 2: flowers in the hallway.
- 36:46Speaker 3: Yeah, and you would only Typically the people that were
- 36:48Speaker 3: asking people out were either like the band kids because
- 36:49Speaker 3: they were already fucking er.
- 36:51Speaker 1: It was like the popular kids.
- 36:52Speaker 3: So if you weren't one of the popular kids, if
- 36:53Speaker 3: you were just an in between or just kind of
- 36:55Speaker 3: like a normal, run of the mill person, those guys
- 36:57Speaker 3: weren't asking Now people like me who were just also
- 36:59Speaker 3: in between. So you have this generation of like average
- 37:02Speaker 3: normal guys who are probably going to grow up and
- 37:04Speaker 3: be normally successful, and they've all these women who are
- 37:06Speaker 3: growing up with this idea that they aren't romantically compatible
- 37:08Speaker 3: because no one showed them attention until college. And then
- 37:11Speaker 3: you realize the only romantic attention I'm getting is if
- 37:14Speaker 3: I put out or do something that maybe I wouldn't
- 37:17Speaker 3: do until like date three or whatever.
- 37:19Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what I mean.
- 37:21Speaker 2: Yeah, it's crazy to think because that only the pendulum
- 37:24Speaker 2: will swing back. It will have to like that literally
- 37:25Speaker 2: how history has to go. I think so, But it's
- 37:28Speaker 2: very tough if guys are going in it and thinking
- 37:31Speaker 2: this is going to be an interesting statement. But like
- 37:33Speaker 2: how stakes are just equal, Like you need to woo
- 37:35Speaker 2: me as much as I'm gonna woo you.
- 37:36Speaker 3: Yeah, like women I don't think are willing to just
- 37:38Speaker 3: be like, Okay, we I'm going to date this guy
- 37:40Speaker 3: because you don't have to.
- 37:40Speaker 1: I don't have to date somebody if I don't want to.
- 37:42Speaker 3: I have my own businesses, I support myself financially, I
- 37:45Speaker 3: can travel, I have friendships that are meaningful. I want somebody.
- 37:48Speaker 3: I don't think you're supposed to be alone. Like I
- 37:50Speaker 3: reject the idea that I'm going to be single for
- 37:52Speaker 3: the rest of my life correct, because I think at
- 37:53Speaker 3: some point I will settle. I love being an independent woman,
- 37:55Speaker 3: being financially independent.
- 37:57Speaker 1: I love getting to do.
- 37:58Speaker 3: Whatever I want my life, Like this is such an
- 37:59Speaker 3: incredible thing. But now dating isn't a mandatory skill that
- 38:02Speaker 3: people are taught. And we have so many areas where
- 38:04Speaker 3: people can cop out, like dating apps too. So again,
- 38:07Speaker 3: like you, like I said, you have this entire generation
- 38:09Speaker 3: of guys who are like just leaning straight in hookup culture,
- 38:12Speaker 3: and then they leave hookup culture and go straight in
- 38:14Speaker 3: dating app culture to where they don't have any incentive
- 38:16Speaker 3: to see a girl at a bar and go hot,
- 38:18Speaker 3: let me ask her out?
- 38:19Speaker 1: Yeah, let me just go start a conversation with it.
- 38:21Speaker 2: It's so crazy because if guys hear that and they
- 38:23Speaker 2: could just realize, like you want to stand out, one
- 38:26Speaker 2: just don't be a shitty guy, but two literally just
- 38:29Speaker 2: be brave enough to go and have the ask.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Just go talk to a.
- 38:32Speaker 3: Girl like it doesn't have to be like, hey, you
- 38:33Speaker 3: think you're pretty, gonna go sc youme out? Just like
- 38:35Speaker 3: go see a girl at a bar and be like,
- 38:36Speaker 3: oh my god, are you drinking? Yeah, that looks really good.
- 38:38Speaker 3: Have a conversation like you would with anybody. But that
- 38:40Speaker 3: does spill over into friendships too. Yeah, it's not just
- 38:43Speaker 3: the relationship side of things, it's also people are struggling
- 38:46Speaker 3: to create those spaces for friendships to bloom of saying
- 38:49Speaker 3: hello to someone new, going out to a new organization,
- 38:52Speaker 3: testing out something where because we didn't have to necessarily
- 38:56Speaker 3: do it growing up, that skill wasn't developed. Yeah, I'm like,
- 39:00Speaker 3: that's literally when I went into college, one of the
- 39:01Speaker 3: thoughts I had is, man, this is just so scott
- 39:04Speaker 3: of me. But I was like, every time I get
- 39:05Speaker 3: in an elevator, I'm gonna start a conversation.
- 39:07Speaker 1: First side, don't do that. I'm promoting that on this podcast.
- 39:10Speaker 2: I wanted to just challenge myself to say, you know what,
- 39:12Speaker 2: why are these situations always awkward? I'm going to push
- 39:15Speaker 2: the limits and see how I can make them not awkward. Yeah,
- 39:18Speaker 2: and just show myself that those little conversations are not
- 39:20Speaker 2: as scary as your mind tries to make them out
- 39:22Speaker 2: to be. They're going to turn against you, they're going
- 39:24Speaker 2: to reject you, they're going to think you're weird and
- 39:26Speaker 2: all these things, and maybe some will, yeah, but for
- 39:27Speaker 2: the most part, if you just go based off of history,
- 39:30Speaker 2: a lot of them have worked out in your favor.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Friendships have formed, relationships have started, but it always took
- 39:35Speaker 2: that little bit of like, ooh, I feel awkward, I'm
- 39:37Speaker 2: gonna try, though, and I just wish more people would
- 39:39Speaker 2: take that chance.
- 39:40Speaker 1: And I'm not saying even I was perfectly at I'm not.
- 39:42Speaker 2: I'd still battle every single day to say, all right,
- 39:45Speaker 2: go be the guy, start the conversation.
- 39:47Speaker 1: And it's hard, but damn it.
- 39:48Speaker 2: If you want a relationship, that's exactly what you have
- 39:51Speaker 2: to do well. And this is not the relationship of
- 39:53Speaker 2: conversation to go into what I did over the weekend
- 39:55Speaker 2: because it goes completely against that conversation.
- 39:57Speaker 3: Well, moral of the story. Put yourself out there, women,
- 40:00Speaker 3: don't settle he paying your.
- 40:01Speaker 1: Bills and watch that show and watch Marda first sight.
- 40:04Speaker 1: So excited to talk about it. Okay, I'll watch Its
- 40:07Speaker 1: very entertaining. Thanks for listening to the podcast. We'll be
- 40:09Speaker 1: back tomorrow
