- 0:00Exodus chapter 6, Let us pray our Father, our King, our Lord,
- 0:08and our everything. Thank you God, for another day
- 0:11to come and worship you in spirit and truth.
- 0:14We thank you God, for another day to read your word, to house
- 0:19your word, to have your word, to learn your word, to eat your
- 0:22word. God, I pray that it'll be sweet
- 0:26as honey as we devour the scroll, but God, let it go down
- 0:31and be bitter in our bellies. Father, as we think about all of
- 0:35the things that are in the world, God, that are contrary to
- 0:39how beautiful you are. And so, God, I pray that you'll
- 0:42help us to be ministers of reconciliation in this wicked
- 0:46and dark and perverse generation.
- 0:49God, I pray that you'll help us to be light and salt unto this
- 0:53world. I pray God that you'll help us
- 0:55to be the difference makers. Plan a God for this world.
- 1:00I pray that we will not just be on the sidelines.
- 1:02I pray that we will not be complicit.
- 1:05Father. I pray that we will not be
- 1:07complacent and lazy. God, I pray Lord that you will
- 1:10fan the flame. Father, help us to go into the
- 1:13hardest and the darkest places. Lord, I pray God for your Saints
- 1:18to be empowered and endued from on high resurrection power God
- 1:22flowing through our veins. Lord, I pray that the least in
- 1:26the Kingdom of God will be the greatest.
- 1:29Father, I pray that you, Lord, will be honored and glorified.
- 1:34Lord, that it'll always point to you, a big neon sign that says
- 1:39Jesus is Lord over our lives. Let everything God in our lives,
- 1:44past and present and future, point to Jesus Christ, the only
- 1:49one who is worthy of all of our affection and adoration, the
- 1:53only one who's worthy of all of our worship, all of our praise.
- 1:57Father, it's due to him. We thank you, God for the cross.
- 2:02We thank you God for the Holy Spirit.
- 2:04We thank you God for life eternal.
- 2:07We thank you God, for clean drinking water and food.
- 2:10We thank you for family and love.
- 2:12We thank you, God, for all the many blessings that you are
- 2:15pouring out on us, Lord, each and every day.
- 2:18Lord, I pray for the Saints at large.
- 2:20I pray for the elect Father across this globe, every single
- 2:24person who will ever receive you, You Father.
- 2:27I pray for strength today and protection today, God, I pray
- 2:31that they'll finally give up Lord, and come into the fold.
- 2:35They'll finally stop going their own direction, Lord, and
- 2:39surrender unto you and your lordship.
- 2:42For you are the King of the universe, the only uncreated.
- 2:46You are the most High God, the God who sees.
- 2:49We love you, Father, we thank you.
- 2:52Father, we pray for those who are struggling today in
- 2:55addiction. Lord, I pray that you'll help
- 2:58them to overcome and find their worth in you.
- 3:03I pray that their coping mechanisms, Father, will be
- 3:06based upon biblical sound knowledge, Father, not upon
- 3:10their own understanding and feelings and hurt and offense,
- 3:14Lord. I pray, Lord, that they'll give
- 3:17up trying to find things on their own, Lord, and they'll
- 3:20come into the fold. They'll surrender to you.
- 3:23They'll find their worth and dignity in you, Father, because
- 3:26you are worthy. You are holy.
- 3:29You are awesome to be praised. We thank you, Father, for giving
- 3:33us this understanding. We thank you for giving us the
- 3:3666 book Canon, Father, the old and the new wine poured out,
- 3:41Father. We drink the water, we eat the
- 3:44bread. We are satisfied in you, Father.
- 3:47Teach us your ways. Teach us your eternal paths.
- 3:50We love you, Father, it's in Jesus Christ, holy and precious
- 3:55and powerful name that I pray. Amen.
- 4:01Well, let's start in verse one. Now the Lord said unto Moses,
- 4:07Now shall you see what I will do to Pharaoh?
- 4:11For with a strong hand he shall let them go.
- 4:15With a strong hand he shall drive them out of his land.
- 4:18So we see here that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is
- 4:22going to encourage Moses. We see that Moses could very
- 4:28well be very discouraged by the taskmasters beating his fellow
- 4:35Hebrew servants, the ones that were placed in authority over
- 4:39all of the slaves there in Egypt.
- 4:42And you see here that the counsel was against Moses
- 4:47because of the heavy burden that was placed upon him, a placed
- 4:52upon them because of him. And you see here that God comes
- 4:56in and he says, watch this Moses, don't fret and do not be
- 5:02afraid. And that's the same for us
- 5:03today, friends. Do not fret, do not be afraid of
- 5:07what man can do. Fear God and watch everything
- 5:11else bow to Him. If we'll get that right,
- 5:17friends, we're going to avoid so much of this fear mongering, so
- 5:21much of this self preservation, so much of our cowardice.
- 5:26Friends, if you will fear God, then you do not need to fear
- 5:31what man can do to you. Because if you try to hold on to
- 5:34your life, you will lose it. But if you lose your life for
- 5:38Him, you will gain eternal life, friends.
- 5:43And God spoke unto Moses, and said to him, I am the Lord. 3
- 5:48And he appeared unto Abraham, and I appeared unto Abraham,
- 5:53Isaac, Jacob, by the name of God Almighty.
- 5:57But by my name Jehovah was I not known to them.
- 6:02So you can see that Jehovah here, he's showing up on the
- 6:06scene and he's revealing himself in a new way unto Moses.
- 6:13Whereas Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, they only understood God
- 6:19from the place of the great I am the covenant maker.
- 6:25Here Moses is getting to see a new facet of God's glory and
- 6:30God's revealing to him the power that he has for.
- 6:36And I also have established my covenant with them to give them
- 6:39the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage where they were
- 6:43strangers. So that's where God is going to
- 6:46lead them back. He's a covenant maker.
- 6:48He's going to make good on all of his promises.
- 6:50And there was no one greater to swear by.
- 6:53So he swore by himself in Genesis chapter 15.
- 6:57Friends, that's where you're going to find God making the
- 7:01covenant with Abraham. And a great horror fell upon
- 7:05Abraham Ham, and he drove the birds away as the sun was
- 7:08setting, and fire went through the carcasses.
- 7:11And God swore by himself, and He's going to make good on that.
- 7:16Five Also I have heard the groaning of the children of
- 7:19Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have
- 7:23remembered my covenant. There it is, friends.
- 7:26He is listening to everything, He's seeing everything.
- 7:30Nothing is hidden from a holy God.
- 7:32Six Wherefore say the children of Israel, I am the Lord, and I
- 7:37will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians,
- 7:40and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you
- 7:44with a stretched out arm and with great judgments.
- 7:47So we're going to get to see God's manifest power on this
- 7:52earth. We're going to get to see just
- 7:54how wonderful He is and how there is nothing outside of His
- 8:01realm of what He can do. He is all powerful and He can
- 8:05literally do anything. He can turn the river into
- 8:10blood, He can do anything. He can make the planets fall out
- 8:16of the sky, friends, He can create a new earth, and he can
- 8:20redeem mankind by the blood of the only Begotten. 7 And I will
- 8:26take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God, and you
- 8:31shall know that I am the Lord your God, which brings you out
- 8:34from under the burdens of the Egyptians.
- 8:37So we are all in bondage and slavery to sin if we do not make
- 8:42ourselves bond servants unto a holy God.
- 8:46You will serve sin and serve self, and it will lead unto
- 8:52death. Friends, if you do not turn away
- 8:56from that wickedness and turn towards a loving God and serve
- 9:01Him and become a bond servant to him, friends, you will serve sin
- 9:06and it will lead to death every single time.
- 9:09It has never worked out differently. 8 And I will bring
- 9:14you, and unto the land, concerning the which I did swear
- 9:18to give to Abraham, and Isaac and Jacob, and I will give it to
- 9:22you for an inheritance. I am the Lord.
- 9:25So there God is. He's revealing himself unto
- 9:29Moses, and he's strengthening Moses.
- 9:32In this hour, as Moses is wonderful, great confidence in
- 9:41the Lord was waning. As Moses was starting to doubt.
- 9:46God comes in and he floods in, and he fans the flame.
- 9:50And he tells Moses, do not fear, do not be afraid, for I am the
- 9:54Lord your God, able to save to the utmost. 9 And Moses spoke so
- 10:01unto the children of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses for
- 10:06anguish of spirit and for cruel bondage.
- 10:09So you can't blame the Israelites here, friends.
- 10:13They are doubting Moses because when Moses spoke up for them the
- 10:18first time, it resulted in a heavier bondage, a heavier
- 10:23oppression from Pharaoh. And now he's trying.
- 10:28Moses is going in and trying to share with them this vision of
- 10:32God that God has given to him, this Jehovah.
- 10:36And the Israelites are still very much doubting old Moses.
- 10:44You're going to see that pop up again and again. 10 And the Lord
- 10:48spoke unto Moses, and saying, 11 Go in, speak to Pharaoh king of
- 10:54Egypt, and he that he let the children of Israel go out of his
- 10:59land. 12 And Moses spoke before the Lord, saying, Behold, the
- 11:04children of Israel have not listened to me.
- 11:07How then shall Pharaoh hear me who am of uncircumcised lips?
- 11:14So Moses is arguing back and forth with God, and he's saying
- 11:21to God he's listen, I've gone in, I've already spoke to
- 11:26Pharaoh once. It only resulted in the Hebrews
- 11:29being more forcefully beaten and treated.
- 11:34And now I've gone to the Hebrews and they will not listen to me.
- 11:38And now you're telling me to go back into Pharaoh.
- 11:41How can I go back into Pharaoh after all of the first time
- 11:45resulted in nothing? And you can hear Moses's
- 11:50frustration. 13 And the Lord spoke to Moses and to Aaron and
- 11:58gave them a charge to the children of Israel and to
- 12:02Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of
- 12:07the land of Egypt. So God is serious about his
- 12:11business, and God is going to get what he wants regardless of
- 12:16man's opposition, regardless of man's misunderstanding,
- 12:26regardless of man's limited intellect.
- 12:30God's purposes and plans will always play out exactly the way
- 12:35that God wants them to, exactly the way that God has written
- 12:39them down. And we can try to sidestep it.
- 12:43The enemy could try his best to throw everything he's got at it.
- 12:47We can try to thwart God's plans, but it will only actually
- 12:52play in to what God said would happen.
- 12:55And it's no different when you study old Judas, how Judas
- 12:58thought that he was doing something outside of what God
- 13:02could control, but it actually played right into the hand of
- 13:06what God had written about. Friends, think about it.
- 13:09That's how everything is playing out.
- 13:11When we try to sidestep God, when we try to do things in our
- 13:15own power, it only plays right into what the Word of God told
- 13:19us would happen exactly the way that it will happen.
- 13:22And it is ignorance of the Word of God that is plaguing mankind.
- 13:2814 These be the heads of their father's houses, the sons of
- 13:33Reuben, the first born of Israel, Hanak, Palu, Hezran,
- 13:37Karmy. These be the families of Reuben.
- 13:4015 In the sons of Simeon, Jemuel, Jamin, Ohan, Jacques,
- 13:45and Zohar Shaw, the son of the Canaanite woman.
- 13:49These are the families of Simeon. 16 And these are the
- 13:52names of the sons of Levi. According to their generations,
- 13:56Gershon Kohoff Morar, in the years of the life of Levi were
- 14:01137 years. 17 The sons of Gershon, Litney and Shimmy,
- 14:08according to their families. 18 And the sons of Kohath, Amaram,
- 14:12Azhar, Hebron, Azil and the years of the life of Kohath were
- 14:17133 years. 19 Of the sons of Murari, Mahali, Mush, these are
- 14:23the families of Levi, according to their generations. 20 And
- 14:28Ambrahm took him Jacques Bed, his father's sister, the wife,
- 14:32and she bore him Aaron and Moses.
- 14:35And the years of the life of Amram were 137 years. 21 in the
- 14:40sons of Ishar Korra Nepeg Zigdi. 22 In the sons of Ozil,
- 14:46Michelle, Esfan, Zig 323 And Aaron took him Elishawa,
- 14:52daughter of Amabardam, sister of Naashan, to wife, and she bore
- 14:57him Nabbedam and Abu Eliasan Itamar. 24 In The sons of Korra,
- 15:03Asan, El Kana Soft, these are the families of the Corites. 25
- 15:08In Elias sorry, Aaron's son took him one of the daughters of
- 15:12Putil, to wife, and she bore him Phineas.
- 15:15And these are the heads of the fathers of the Levites,
- 15:18according to their families. 26 These are that Aaron and Moses,
- 15:24to whom the Lord said, bring out the children of Israel from the
- 15:28land of Egypt, according to their armies.
- 15:31So imagine that friends, God has his eyes on every single family
- 15:37that Jacob had, the 12 sons. We see the 12 tribes and God
- 15:42knows every single one of them. And he led them down into Egypt
- 15:46for 400 years, so they can multiply and become this great
- 15:51nation, friends, and raise up an army. 27 These are they which
- 15:57spoke to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, to bring out the children of
- 16:00Israel from Egypt. These are that Moses and Aaron.
- 16:04So we know that as the Israelites went down into Egypt,
- 16:08the Egyptians did not want to intermarry and intermingle with
- 16:13them. We know that the Egyptians were
- 16:15very much segregated and they thought of themselves as better
- 16:20than. But little did they know that
- 16:22because of their inability to intermingle that the Egyptians
- 16:28were becoming stronger and stronger and stronger Friends.
- 16:3428 And it came to pass on the day when the Lord spoke to Moses
- 16:38in the land of Egypt. 29 that the Lord spoke unto Moses,
- 16:42saying, I am the Lord, Speak you to Pharaoh king of Egypt, and
- 16:49say, everything that I say to you will end on. 30 And Moses
- 16:54said before the Lord, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and
- 17:00how shall Pharaoh listen to me? This is the second time you see
- 17:04him arguing with God, saying, not me, God, I, I'm
- 17:10uncircumcised in my lips. And this reminds me of the
- 17:16throne room scene in Isaiah 6 where he takes the live coal and
- 17:21touches his lips. He says I am a man of unclean
- 17:25lips and I come from an unclean people.
- 17:29This is very similar to when God's holiness comes in the
- 17:33room. We are undone from our
- 17:36sinfulness. All of our righteousness is
- 17:39nothing but filthy rags before a holy God.
- 17:42And you must come to that reality, friends, that you bring
- 17:46nothing to the table. That is nothing about you.
- 17:50It's not about you, it's all about King Jesus and it's all
- 17:54about what He did at the cross. And everything we have is a gift
- 17:59from Him. Our salvation is a gift from Him
- 18:02so that no man can boast about their works.
- 18:08Remember that, friends, here Moses is finally getting to that
- 18:11place, that he brings nothing to the table, that it's only God
- 18:17that can rescue and save and lead all the captives home.
- 18:22And that's what he wants to do in your life today, friends.
- 18:26He wants to break the chains of slavery, break the chains of
- 18:30addiction, break the chains of childhood trauma, break the
- 18:34chains of anger, break the chains of unforgiveness, break
- 18:39the chains of this murderous, rebellious spirit.
- 18:44And he wants to set you free and cover you in the blood of Christ
- 18:49so that you can be passed over in the day of judgment.
- 18:53I pray that over you today that you have received that
- 18:57forgiveness and you've received eternal life.
- 19:01I love you. I'm praying for you, and I hope
- 19:07you've been blessed by this amazing chapter in God's Word.
- 19:10I know I sure have. We'll see you back here
- 19:12tomorrow.
