- 0:02Speaker 1: Wake your ass up. John Jay and Rich.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Rich, what today is?
- 0:07Speaker 3: It is National Hotel Employee Day.
- 0:10Speaker 4: So if you know a hotel employee, make sure you
- 0:13Speaker 4: say hello.
- 0:14Speaker 5: I don't know what this means, but it is National
- 0:37Speaker 5: Chicken Boy Day today.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Chicken Boy.
- 0:39Speaker 5: Chicken Boy. It's also National No Rhyme, No Reason Day.
- 0:44Speaker 5: I don't even know who, like, you know, campaigned for that.
- 0:47Speaker 5: It's National Forgiveness Day. And this is good for food.
- 0:51Speaker 5: It's National Burnt Ends Day. Burnt ends are delicious. That's
- 0:55Speaker 5: the side of the brisket.
- 0:56Speaker 6: A post has gone viral that asks the question to
- 0:59Speaker 6: anyone that used the Internet early. What's one app or
- 1:03Speaker 6: website that you'll never forget?
- 1:06Speaker 3: Ask Jeeves. Oh, that's good. That was good.
- 1:09Speaker 5: That was pre-Google, even.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, that was good. It had a guy who
- 1:13Speaker 3: dressed as a butler.
- 1:13Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 1:14Speaker 8: And you could ask anything. What about MapQuest?
- 1:17Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:17Speaker 6: That was my favorite. John Jay was really into MapQuest.
- 1:20Speaker 6: MapQuest is good. MySpace is number one.
- 1:23Speaker 9: I was going to say, is MySpace high up there?
- 1:25Speaker 3: But it's come back. You know what I used to
- 1:26Speaker 3: go to all the time, and I don't even know
- 1:27Speaker 3: if it existed, was FARC.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:29Speaker 3: What was that?
- 1:30Speaker 5: It's still there.
- 1:30Speaker 6: Oh, is it still there? It had just fun stories
- 1:34Speaker 6: or weird stories and stuff.
- 1:35Speaker 3: It was like whatever.
- 1:36Speaker 5: And they're kind of funny. I don't know.
- 1:38Speaker 3: I'm going to go look it up right now.
- 1:39Speaker 5: Yeah, they're still around.
- 1:40Speaker 9: What about Omegle? Is Omegle on there? Because that's what
- 1:44Speaker 9: I remember using.
- 1:45Speaker 5: What was Omegle?
- 1:45Speaker 9: Omegle was like video chatting with strangers and you would
- 1:48Speaker 9: go on with your friends. It was totally dangerous. We
- 1:53Speaker 9: were totally not allowed to do it, but it was
- 1:55Speaker 9: seriously like, that's what you did. Seventh, seventh grade sleepover.
- 1:59Speaker 9: We're on Omega.
- 2:00Speaker 5: You're talking to like 45 year old guys, like old
- 2:02Speaker 5: creepy dudes.
- 2:02Speaker 9: And they would be like doing gross stuff. It would
- 2:04Speaker 9: be like, ah, we'd have to skip to the next one.
- 2:05Speaker 6: You know what's on here? Uh, Ash Jeeves is on here.
- 2:09Speaker 6: Napster is on here.
- 2:10Speaker 8: Napster.
- 2:11Speaker 5: Listen, I was a freak for Napster. AOL instant messenger
- 2:14Speaker 5: is on here.
- 2:14Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Neopets.
- 2:19Speaker 9: Oh, yeah. What about like a Club Penguin or Toontown
- 2:23Speaker 9: or like a Webkinz?
- 2:25Speaker 6: Chat Roulette is on here. Yahoo Games is on here.
- 2:28Speaker 6: Live Journal, E-Bombs World, and GeoCities.
- 2:32Speaker 11: Oh, yeah.
- 2:32Speaker 5: I remember E-Bombs. I remember GeoCities, too.
- 2:35Speaker 3: See, look, I'm on Fark right now. It is. It's
- 2:36Speaker 3: still there. Yeah, and it kicks ass.
- 2:39Speaker 6: If you go to Fark.com, you'll see exactly what it is.
- 2:42Speaker 6: It's like a place that we should go to all
- 2:43Speaker 6: the time instead of Reddit. Lots of like... Cool, bizarre
- 2:48Speaker 6: stories from around the world. But anyway, Syracuse Bigfoot sighting
- 2:52Speaker 6: turns out to be elderly nudist.
- 2:55Speaker 5: See, those are great headlines.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Peyton, I know you were stressed. What happened to you now, Peyton?
- 3:03Speaker 9: Oh, my goodness. Well, I was telling you guys last
- 3:05Speaker 9: week how when I was leaving the house, I was
- 3:07Speaker 9: like really disheveled on my way to work. And I
- 3:09Speaker 9: accidentally forgot to put a shirt on. And so I
- 3:12Speaker 9: drove all the way to work and didn't realize that
- 3:14Speaker 9: I didn't have a shirt on.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 3:15Speaker 9: I have something to add to my level of disheveledness.
- 3:19Speaker 9: So that same morning, I'm like rushing, trying to get
- 3:23Speaker 9: out of the house. And as I got to work,
- 3:25Speaker 9: I like couldn't find my purse anywhere. And I was like,
- 3:27Speaker 9: where's my purse? Where's my purse? And I'm like, oh,
- 3:29Speaker 9: that's so annoying. Like I probably left it at the house.
- 3:32Speaker 9: I have a ton of stuff to do later. Like
- 3:33Speaker 9: this is really inconvenient. So I go home after work
- 3:37Speaker 9: and I'm looking for my purse everywhere. Everywhere, everywhere. And
- 3:42Speaker 9: I'm like, this thing is gone. I'm saying prayers to St. Anthony.
- 3:45Speaker 9: I'm like, I'm texting my grandma. I'm texting my husband.
- 3:47Speaker 9: I'm texting my dad. I'm like, has anyone seen my purse?
- 3:50Speaker 9: And then it dawned on me that I was rushing
- 3:53Speaker 9: out of the house and my grandma, she had left
- 3:55Speaker 9: me a bag to throw into the recycle. So as
- 3:58Speaker 9: I was walking out of the house, I picked up
- 4:00Speaker 9: the bag for recycle. I picked up my purse. I
- 4:02Speaker 9: had my backpack on, walked out to the front door
- 4:04Speaker 9: and threw my purse away with the recycle.
- 4:06Speaker 5: What?
- 4:08Speaker 9: My wallet.
- 4:09Speaker 12: Oh, no.
- 4:10Speaker 9: All my birthday money. I had a ton of gift
- 4:12Speaker 9: cards in there. I had a brand new cart in there.
- 4:15Speaker 9: I was sick to my stomach.
- 4:16Speaker 3: A cart like a.
- 4:17Speaker 9: Yeah, like my wax cartridge.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Like, those are expensive. Those are $ 35.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Vaping?
- 4:22Speaker 3: Yeah, those are expensive.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Yes.
- 4:24Speaker 9: Truly, that was.
- 4:24Speaker 5: Oh, my God.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Your lungs have been saved an extra day.
- 4:27Speaker 8: Truly, that's what I was the most upset about.
- 4:28Speaker 5: On recycle day, like it was it was getting picked up.
- 4:30Speaker 5: Is it gone?
- 4:31Speaker 9: Oh, that thing is gone.
- 4:33Speaker 13: Oh, no.
- 4:34Speaker 3: I thought you had a happy ending. Like you found it.
- 4:37Speaker 5: You went back and got it.
- 4:40Speaker 9: It's in the recycle bin. Now at the dump. And
- 4:43Speaker 9: it didn't even dawn on me to even think to
- 4:45Speaker 9: be like, oh, have someone check the trash before the
- 4:48Speaker 9: trash guy comes.
- 4:49Speaker 3: You have 75 people live in that house. You couldn't
- 4:50Speaker 3: call somebody to pull it out?
- 4:51Speaker 9: I called, but I didn't think, I told them everyone
- 4:54Speaker 9: look for my purse, but it didn't dawn on me
- 4:56Speaker 9: to be like, check the recycling bin. I didn't think
- 4:59Speaker 9: that I threw my purse away.
- 5:00Speaker 3: So when did it hit you?
- 5:01Speaker 9: It hit me when I got home at like probably
- 5:03Speaker 9: like at like 11, 15, because I checked the ring
- 5:07Speaker 9: camera and you can see me carry my purse out.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Oh, no.
- 5:11Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 5:11Speaker 3: That's so bad.
- 5:13Speaker 5: So you've got to get.
- 5:15Speaker 10: A new ID.
- 5:15Speaker 9: I have to get a new everything. And what's really
- 5:16Speaker 9: inconvenient is, like, I just had a name change. So
- 5:18Speaker 9: I just got all new cards, all new IDs, and
- 5:21Speaker 9: now I'm going to have to go get it again.
- 5:22Speaker 9: And the one thing, though, I kept trying to be,
- 5:25Speaker 9: I'm really, like, in my 28th year of life, I'm
- 5:27Speaker 9: really trying to be more positive and see the bright, like,
- 5:31Speaker 9: see the positive in things. And so I'm a really
- 5:33Speaker 9: big believer in the burnt toast theory right now. What
- 5:35Speaker 9: is that? You know the burnt toast theory?
- 5:36Speaker 7: No.
- 5:36Speaker 9: The burnt toast theory is when, like, something inconvenient happens.
- 5:40Speaker 9: happens to you but it's saving you from a larger
- 5:42Speaker 9: income oh yeah yeah so the idea is that oh
- 5:44Speaker 9: my gosh i burnt my toast i'm gonna be late
- 5:47Speaker 9: to work but in reality you probably just dodged a
- 5:49Speaker 9: car accident you could.
- 5:50Speaker 5: Have died right you know so that's.
- 5:52Speaker 9: The logic and i'm like how do i burn toast theory.
- 5:54Speaker 3: This i mean how do i look at this i
- 5:58Speaker 3: can burn toast theory for you you didn't smoke that
- 6:00Speaker 3: cartridge now you have healthier lungs.
- 6:02Speaker 9: But i really wanted it i i actually posted it
- 6:04Speaker 9: on tiktok and someone was like girl you could have
- 6:06Speaker 9: gotten mugged for your purse just be happy there you.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Go i was Was it the purse Kyle got you?
- 6:11Speaker 9: No, thank God. And that was actually another reason too
- 6:14Speaker 9: because I had just swapped it. I swapped one of
- 6:16Speaker 9: my nicer bags to one of a bag that I thrifted.
- 6:19Speaker 9: So the bag I threw away was like.
- 6:20Speaker 8: Because I was like, usually you carry the Louis Vuitton
- 6:22Speaker 8: your dad got you. And I'm like, not that one.
- 6:24Speaker 9: No, I didn't. It wasn't my expensive purse. But there
- 6:27Speaker 9: was probably... I mean, aside from my cards... My cash,
- 6:31Speaker 9: I had like 300 bucks in cash.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Oh, man, that gets sunk.
- 6:35Speaker 8: Oh, that pains me.
- 6:37Speaker 9: And I called the recycling, the city recycle. And I
- 6:41Speaker 9: was like, hi, like, I know you guys like usually
- 6:43Speaker 9: use a conveyor belt because in the city of Chile,
- 6:45Speaker 9: they're very strict on what goes in your recycle.
- 6:47Speaker 5: Yeah, I was going to say, you can't do that.
- 6:49Speaker 9: Maybe like you guys, she was like, yeah, girl, once
- 6:51Speaker 9: it's in that trash can, that is gone. That's a goner.
- 6:54Speaker 3: You always hear stories about someone threw away their wedding
- 6:56Speaker 3: ring and they go through the dump.
- 6:58Speaker 5: That's the dump.
- 6:59Speaker 3: They recycle.
- 7:00Speaker 5: They smush it, though, right?
- 7:01Speaker 3: Did you find out?
- 7:03Speaker 6: If you say what your street is, they tell you
- 7:04Speaker 6: where it dumps and what?
- 7:05Speaker 9: She told me. She said that I'm not.
- 7:06Speaker 10: I asked.
- 7:07Speaker 9: I was like, can you tell me where the dump
- 7:08Speaker 9: is so I can go? And she says it's not
- 7:10Speaker 9: open to the public.
- 7:11Speaker 6: You know what I visualize when that's happening? Like a
- 7:14Speaker 6: split screen if it was a movie. You're talking to
- 7:15Speaker 6: this girl on the phone. Meanwhile, she's got your purse
- 7:17Speaker 6: counting the money.
- 7:18Speaker 8: She's like, yeah, no, I can't get it.
- 7:20Speaker 3: Can't go. It's private. Meanwhile, she's like, that's terrible.
- 7:25Speaker 8: Wow.
- 7:26Speaker 3: I thought it had a different ending.
- 7:28Speaker 5: I wish I had a happy ending.
- 7:30Speaker 9: I'm trying to be positive about it because it could
- 7:32Speaker 9: have been worse. It could have been my Louie.
- 7:35Speaker 10: Exactly.
- 7:35Speaker 8: There's your burnt toast.
- 7:36Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Wow, what a bummer.
- 7:40Speaker 5: I know, that still sucks.
- 7:41Speaker 3: What a bummer.
- 7:42Speaker 9: But that just shows you the kind of morning.
- 7:43Speaker 1: I was having.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Do you have the video? Do you have the video?
- 7:46Speaker 5: Can you post it?
- 7:47Speaker 9: Yeah, I probably can find it. Yeah, because I just
- 7:49Speaker 9: have to go back and save it on the Ring camera.
- 7:51Speaker 3: So what? There she is, throwing away her purse.
- 7:53Speaker 5: So sad.
- 7:53Speaker 3: There's Payton not needing all this money.
- 7:56Speaker 8: There you go.
- 7:57Speaker 3: Recycle.
- 7:58Speaker 5: When's the last time you had $ 300 cash on you?
- 8:00Speaker 5: I never have.
- 8:00Speaker 9: When it's your birthday.
- 8:01Speaker 8: Yeah, exactly.
- 8:02Speaker 5: That's where all my.
- 8:04Speaker 9: Birthday cash was. So annoying, but it's okay. It is
- 8:08Speaker 9: what it is. I'm breaking down the main thing that
- 8:17Speaker 9: your zodiac sign needs to get done today to kind
- 8:20Speaker 9: of set the tone for the month of September. Also,
- 8:22Speaker 9: if it's your birthday today, you are a Virgo and
- 8:25Speaker 9: you share a birthday with Zendaya, Jungkook, and Dr.
- 8:28Speaker 14: Phil.
- 8:28Speaker 3: How about you do Virgos?
- 8:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 8:30Speaker 9: Okay, John Jay, you're our Virgo in the room. Your
- 8:32Speaker 9: birthday is literally on Friday. So happy birth month, John Jay.
- 8:36Speaker 9: The universe is really giving you a complete personal reboot today.
- 8:39Speaker 9: So really step up and claim your power and set
- 8:42Speaker 9: uncompromising standards for everything that you want to achieve.
- 8:46Speaker 3: What does that mean?
- 8:46Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Uncompromising standards.
- 8:50Speaker 5: That means put your heights like higher than you normally would.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 8:54Speaker 5: Shoot for the stars, kid.
- 8:55Speaker 8: They're already pretty high.
- 8:56Speaker 9: Thank you for defining that for us.
- 8:59Speaker 3: Heidi, hi, what's your sign?
- 9:01Speaker 10: Hi, I'm an Aries.
- 9:03Speaker 9: Okay, so for my Aries in the month of September,
- 9:05Speaker 9: you really have to reset your daily routine. I mean,
- 9:08Speaker 9: swap your chaotic morning rush for a structured plan, lock
- 9:11Speaker 9: in your workout or wellness goals, and start September operating
- 9:14Speaker 9: at absolute peak efficiency.
- 9:17Speaker 10: That's awesome.
- 9:17Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
- 9:18Speaker 3: All right, Heidi, have a great day. Hi, Michelle, what's
- 9:21Speaker 3: your sign? Sagittarius.
- 9:24Speaker 9: Sagittarius. Okay, for the month of September, you really have
- 9:27Speaker 9: to make some power plays in your career. It is
- 9:30Speaker 9: time for you guys to step into some leadership roles
- 9:33Speaker 9: and really show off all your hard work. Demand the
- 9:35Speaker 9: recognition and promotions that you guys have earned.
- 9:38Speaker 14: Oh, that sounds good, Peyton.
- 9:39Speaker 15: Thank you, guys.
- 9:40Speaker 9: You're so welcome.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Yeah, Michelle. How about Pisces?
- 9:42Speaker 9: Rich, relationships are taking top priority as this month starts.
- 9:46Speaker 9: You have to seek out some balance and get some support.
- 9:49Speaker 9: Have some clear commitments with your partner or even your
- 9:51Speaker 9: business allies. Whoever it is, no more guessing games. Stop
- 9:55Speaker 9: playing games and.
- 9:56Speaker 5: Tell them how it is. Quit playing games with my heart.
- 9:59Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 9:59Speaker 3: How about Leo's?
- 10:01Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm a Leo. Day one of September is all
- 10:04Speaker 9: about us getting our stuff together. We really have to
- 10:07Speaker 9: set some financial targets for ourselves and we need to
- 10:10Speaker 9: actually reevaluate what our habits are and start building some
- 10:14Speaker 9: income that gives us some real long-term security.
- 10:18Speaker 3: And why don't we wrap up with Libra's?
- 10:19Speaker 9: Kyle, our Libra, use today as your behind-the-scenes preparation. So
- 10:24Speaker 9: before your own season hits, prioritize your mental rest and
- 10:28Speaker 9: process recent emotions and quietly plan your next big moves.
- 10:32Speaker 9: Do not let people know if you have something that's
- 10:33Speaker 9: up your sleeve because they're going to sneak out from
- 10:35Speaker 9: under you and try to take it.
- 10:36Speaker 8: Sneaky, sneaky secret.
- 10:39Speaker 10: Yes.
- 10:39Speaker 9: Okay.
- 10:40Speaker 3: If we didn't get to your sign, I'll post it
- 10:41Speaker 3: on our website, johnjainrich.com.
- 10:43Speaker 16: I was a ghost, I was alone.
- 10:44Speaker 3: You know that it's a lie.
- 10:55Speaker 5: Claire, you're on the air.
- 10:57Speaker 12: Hey, yeah. So I stole a wedding gift back from
- 11:02Speaker 12: a wedding from a present that I gave. And the
- 11:04Speaker 12: backstory is, so I got this really cute espresso machine,
- 11:10Speaker 12: like well over $ 300 for this wedding for my friend.
- 11:12Speaker 12: And at the revealing of, you know, opening the presents
- 11:15Speaker 12: and stuff like that, she clearly announced that she's not
- 11:18Speaker 12: into caffeine. She doesn't like coffee. And I was just
- 11:20Speaker 12: like kind of surprised because I'm like.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Who doesn't?
- 11:22Speaker 12: But I also bought, I guess I thought that she
- 11:27Speaker 12: would like something like that.
- 11:28Speaker 14: Anyways, so while everyone.
- 11:30Speaker 12: Was by the pool, I went and snuck and took
- 11:35Speaker 12: the present back.
- 11:36Speaker 3: And the present was a what?
- 11:38Speaker 12: An espresso machine.
- 11:40Speaker 5: Oh. Do you put anything in its place or does
- 11:43Speaker 5: she think that you just got her nothing?
- 11:45Speaker 12: I mean, at this point in time, I don't even
- 11:46Speaker 12: think she's going to know it's missing. I mean, she
- 11:47Speaker 12: doesn't even want it.
- 11:48Speaker 6: To follow up on Rich's question, so when you go
- 11:50Speaker 6: to the wedding, do you have a backup present in
- 11:52Speaker 6: a backpack or something? then you just go and give
- 11:55Speaker 6: them another present?
- 11:56Speaker 9: Why would you do that?
- 11:57Speaker 8: No, she opened it. She got credit for giving the gift.
- 11:59Speaker 6: No, I'm saying Rich goes, did you have a backup
- 12:01Speaker 6: present to give her? Like, did you put something in
- 12:02Speaker 6: his place? Like, yeah, like she shows.
- 12:04Speaker 3: Up at the wedding.
- 12:05Speaker 8: Everybody has a backup gift.
- 12:06Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying. She brought the express. Rich is like,
- 12:08Speaker 3: did you have a backup? Like, yeah.
- 12:09Speaker 6: As a matter of fact, I had a blender in
- 12:11Speaker 6: my backpack just in case she didn't like coffee.
- 12:13Speaker 5: Like, spatula yeah well the point is she noticed this
- 12:18Speaker 5: that you got her nothing is what.
- 12:19Speaker 17: I'm saying no she opened the gift so she's so
- 12:21Speaker 17: she's like claire already gets credit for giving the gift
- 12:24Speaker 17: because she opened it they wrote it down and then
- 12:28Speaker 17: it's like she's never gonna use it so claire's like
- 12:30Speaker 17: i'm just gonna take it back if she's never gonna
- 12:32Speaker 17: use it now so the woman eventually is like eventually
- 12:36Speaker 17: gonna go where's the espresso machine probably someone stole my
- 12:39Speaker 17: espresso we're all.
- 12:40Speaker 18: Gonna be like I don't know.
- 12:42Speaker 12: You tell us what happened.
- 12:43Speaker 8: It's going to be the game of Clue.
- 12:45Speaker 3: Literally.
- 12:45Speaker 5: They're going to hit up those flock cameras and you're
- 12:47Speaker 5: going to get busted.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Right.
- 12:49Speaker 9: And she probably has so many gifts that she's not
- 12:51Speaker 9: going to even go through all of that stuff for
- 12:53Speaker 9: like another six months.
- 12:54Speaker 14: Exactly.
- 12:54Speaker 19: They get 10,000.
- 12:55Speaker 20: She's not even going to miss it.
- 12:56Speaker 12: She's not going to miss it. She's not going to
- 12:58Speaker 12: miss it.
- 12:59Speaker 6: But didn't people see you walking out of the reception
- 13:01Speaker 6: holding an espresso machine under your arm?
- 13:03Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 13:04Speaker 12: I wasn't thinking about that.
- 13:04Speaker 2: But now that you.
- 13:05Speaker 12: Mention it, thanks a lot.
- 13:08Speaker 3: So you just got away. Did you get the thank
- 13:09Speaker 3: you card yet or was it recent?
- 13:11Speaker 2: No, no, no.
- 13:11Speaker 12: The thank you card's there for sure.
- 13:13Speaker 6: I wonder if they knew in the thank you card, hey,
- 13:15Speaker 6: thank you so much for the espresso machine.
- 13:16Speaker 3: We love it. We use it every day. In fact,
- 13:19Speaker 3: we just drink right now. I'm writing this thank you
- 13:22Speaker 3: card drinking my espresso. That would be wild.
- 13:23Speaker 5: Why don't you come over and have.
- 13:25Speaker 2: One with us?
- 13:25Speaker 3: Yeah. All right, Claire. Well, thanks for sharing. I wonder
- 13:29Speaker 3: if that.
- 13:30Speaker 8: I feel like that might be some bad karma.
- 13:31Speaker 3: Yeah. Totally bad karma. Totally. Absolutely.
- 13:36Speaker 8: You know, I don't think she'll miss it, but.
- 13:39Speaker 3: All right, Claire. Thanks for calling in.
- 13:42Speaker 13: Yeah, thank you.
- 13:53Speaker 6: The drunk dial line is 602-888-1933. The talkback feature is
- 13:58Speaker 6: on the free iHeartRadio app. You just tap the microphone
- 14:00Speaker 6: and leave us a message. We got some talkbacks. We
- 14:02Speaker 6: got some drunk dials.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Don't put bananas in my butt.
- 14:05Speaker 20: I said, don't put bananas in my butt.
- 14:08Speaker 21: I told you many times before.
- 14:13Speaker 1: My butt is not a banana door.
- 14:16Speaker 20: No, I'm a physician and I cannot fuck you up.
- 14:21Speaker 3: Oh, my God. I am.
- 14:25Speaker 10: In position.
- 14:27Speaker 3: That is hilarious.
- 14:28Speaker 8: Didn't see that coming.
- 14:29Speaker 3: It's a very catchy song, man.
- 14:31Speaker 6: I've made two videos on it, and now that she
- 14:33Speaker 6: said it, it's going to be stuck in my head.
- 14:35Speaker 3: There you go. No, don't put bananas in my butt.
- 14:39Speaker 3: I've told you several times before. My butt is not
- 14:43Speaker 3: a banana door. Such a catchy song.
- 14:46Speaker 7: My weird rules. is no garbage is allowed to be
- 14:51Speaker 7: put in the garbage can in the kitchen. All garbage
- 14:55Speaker 7: goes in a grocery bag, gets tied, and then out
- 15:00Speaker 7: to the garage freezer and puts in the freezer. And
- 15:04Speaker 7: then the night before garbage, it comes out of the
- 15:07Speaker 7: freezer and goes into the garbage can down by the streets.
- 15:11Speaker 7: I had a terrible maggot story.
- 15:14Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 15:15Speaker 9: I'm like, is this my meme? Because we have that
- 15:18Speaker 9: same rule.
- 15:19Speaker 5: You just can't throw away trash?
- 15:20Speaker 9: Yeah, trash is not allowed to go in the actual
- 15:22Speaker 9: trash can. It either has to go down the garbage
- 15:24Speaker 9: disposal or... it has to go into the freezer and
- 15:28Speaker 9: wait there till trash day to take it out because
- 15:30Speaker 9: then the trash can stink.
- 15:31Speaker 17: That's like my father-in-law, but he like, there isn't like
- 15:34Speaker 17: the freezer option. He'll like take it to a dumpster
- 15:37Speaker 17: away from his house.
- 15:37Speaker 8: That's funny.
- 15:39Speaker 9: I get it because like, I mean, you have the
- 15:41Speaker 9: maggots and then in Arizona, it gets so hot out here.
- 15:44Speaker 5: If your trash is just.
- 15:45Speaker 9: Sitting in there.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Is there a good maggot story?
- 15:48Speaker 8: No, probably not.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Gross. Oh, that's her.
- 15:54Speaker 2: Chris.
- 15:54Speaker 9: Hello.
- 15:55Speaker 22: So a long time ago, I had two roommates and
- 15:59Speaker 22: I always said, don't put any garbage in the garbage.
- 16:01Speaker 22: I hate that garbage just sits in the can for
- 16:04Speaker 22: days on end until it's garbage day. So one day
- 16:08Speaker 22: I'm vacuuming and there is rice on my floor, but
- 16:10Speaker 22: the rice was moving. So all of a sudden I'm like,
- 16:14Speaker 22: this is why you guys, you don't put, you know,
- 16:18Speaker 22: garbage in the garbage can. So ever since then, I've
- 16:21Speaker 22: had a rule that no garbage goes in my garbage can.
- 16:23Speaker 22: I have a garbage can in my kitchen. That is
- 16:26Speaker 22: for show, but no garbage goes into it.
- 16:28Speaker 8: So what I do.
- 16:29Speaker 22: You know, I don't want to look totally worried and
- 16:32Speaker 22: not have a garbage can.
- 16:33Speaker 14: So what I do.
- 16:35Speaker 22: Is when I come home from work, I'll make dinner,
- 16:37Speaker 22: and all the garbage of food and whatnot goes into
- 16:41Speaker 22: a grocery bag, and then it goes out into my
- 16:43Speaker 22: garage freezer.
- 16:45Speaker 6: We have two people in the show that completely relate
- 16:47Speaker 6: to that. Peyton's grandma and Kyle's father-in-law does the same
- 16:49Speaker 6: thing you do.
- 16:50Speaker 14: Well, that's perfect.
- 16:51Speaker 18: I think it's genius.
- 16:54Speaker 9: I'm not going to lie. When I buy a house,
- 16:55Speaker 9: I probably will try to move forward with the same
- 16:58Speaker 9: kind of like rules per se, because it does your
- 17:01Speaker 9: trash gets stinky and that's gross.
- 17:04Speaker 5: It's true.
- 17:05Speaker 21: And I live alone.
- 17:07Speaker 22: I live alone, so I don't have that much garbage.
- 17:10Speaker 22: Like if I make dinner or whatnot during the week,
- 17:12Speaker 22: I don't have that much garbage. I'm not going to
- 17:14Speaker 22: let it just sit in the garbage can in the kitchen.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Good call.
- 17:17Speaker 8: I mean, I get it.
- 17:18Speaker 14: So everyone always.
- 17:19Speaker 22: Laughs at me that my garbage is in the freezer.
- 17:21Speaker 22: My family thinks it's ridiculous and they laugh at me.
- 17:23Speaker 5: But look how good your house smells all the time.
- 17:26Speaker 20: It does.
- 17:27Speaker 3: It does.
- 17:28Speaker 22: But you know what it smells from, though? I have
- 17:30Speaker 22: a rescue dog, John Jay. So, you know, yes, I'm
- 17:34Speaker 22: with Arizona Golden Rescue.
- 17:36Speaker 10: Oh, that's awesome.
- 17:37Speaker 22: Arizona Golden Rescue.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Yeah, great organization.
- 17:40Speaker 10: Yes, big time.
- 17:41Speaker 22: And another thing, John Jay, you had a bit on
- 17:46Speaker 22: months ago about meeting somebody and totally, like, messing up
- 17:50Speaker 22: the meeting and being so, like, shy and nervous. I
- 17:53Speaker 22: was so shy and nervous to meet you at one
- 17:56Speaker 22: of the Family Fests two years ago. I looked like
- 17:58Speaker 22: a complete idiot when I met you.
- 18:01Speaker 3: Oh, come on. I remember you. No, I'm just kidding.
- 18:04Speaker 12: Oh, Chris.
- 18:05Speaker 14: Yeah, I bet you do.
- 18:07Speaker 22: I was a stumbling idiot.
- 18:08Speaker 10: I'm like, oh, I'm from Golden Rescue.
- 18:10Speaker 11: Anyways.
- 18:11Speaker 3: Well, it was great to meet you, Chris, and I
- 18:13Speaker 3: hope you come to Family Fests this year. It's November 7th.
- 18:16Speaker 3: I will.
- 18:16Speaker 22: I come every year.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Great. Great. Yes. Can't wait to see you.
- 18:19Speaker 10: All right, you guys.
- 18:20Speaker 3: Say hi to me again. Let's say hi. Let's meet there.
- 18:21Speaker 3: We'll meet at the Golden Rescue Area.
- 18:23Speaker 10: Okay.
- 18:23Speaker 11: All right.
- 18:24Speaker 22: Hopefully, I won't be a battling idiot this time.
- 18:26Speaker 10: Okay.
- 18:26Speaker 3: I'll meet you there. Thanks, Chris. Have a great day.
- 18:28Speaker 11: Thanks, John Jay.
- 18:29Speaker 10: Have a good day, you guys.
- 18:30Speaker 16: We want to hear your voice on the John Jay
- 18:32Speaker 16: and Rich Show.
- 18:33Speaker 23: Send us a top back from the red microphone button
- 18:35Speaker 23: on the free iHeartRadio app.
- 18:37Speaker 16: Your voice message will come right to us in the studio,
- 18:40Speaker 16: and we'll take.
- 18:41Speaker 3: It from there. All right, you guys. It's time for
- 18:42Speaker 3: Stacks and Hacks. I have stacks of information. Rich has
- 18:45Speaker 3: got life hacks.
- 18:46Speaker 6: So according to my stacks, Gen Z is celebrating the
- 18:50Speaker 6: downfall of the thumbs up emoji, calling it passive aggressive
- 18:55Speaker 6: and dismissive. Now other generations got mad and flooded the
- 18:58Speaker 6: comments with thumbs up emojis.
- 18:59Speaker 8: Oh, that's funny.
- 19:03Speaker 3: Rich, this is right up your alley.
- 19:04Speaker 6: A Goodwill-branded record store is opening in North Carolina on Friday.
- 19:08Speaker 3: It's called Rewind, and it's like normal.
- 19:09Speaker 6: Goodwill, except it specifically focuses on vinyl, CDs, cassettes, Blu-rays.
- 19:13Speaker 3: And DVDs.
- 19:14Speaker 5: Well, I love that. That's not bad at all.
- 19:17Speaker 6: You know, we got a second update where we catch,
- 19:18Speaker 6: I'm sorry, we got War of the Roses where we
- 19:19Speaker 6: catch people cheating. Do you guys see what happened in Taiwan?
- 19:22Speaker 2: No.
- 19:22Speaker 6: Guy caught his wife cheating with another man after he
- 19:25Speaker 6: saw them on the camera of a robot vacuum. He
- 19:29Speaker 6: sued her, and he won. But then she countersued for
- 19:34Speaker 6: invasion of privacy. She won that case and he got
- 19:37Speaker 6: sent to jail.
- 19:38Speaker 5: What the heck?
- 19:40Speaker 9: I feel like you can stalk your wife or your husband.
- 19:43Speaker 9: That is okay.
- 19:44Speaker 5: It's your own house. You should be able to look
- 19:45Speaker 5: at your own robot vac.
- 19:46Speaker 9: Yeah, that's not spying. That's just information that you probably
- 19:49Speaker 9: need to know.
- 19:50Speaker 17: I also did not know you could check in on
- 19:51Speaker 17: your robot vac camera.
- 19:54Speaker 5: Yeah, you can.
- 19:55Speaker 8: That's very creepy.
- 19:56Speaker 5: The new ones with the mops, you can watch it
- 19:58Speaker 5: do its thing. Like, just watch the video.
- 20:00Speaker 9: Oh, no. No, no, no.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Hey, there's a dog named Bingo.
- 20:03Speaker 1: B-I-N-G-O.
- 20:05Speaker 6: B-I-N-G-O, it delivered a live armadillo into the family's house.
- 20:10Speaker 1: Oh.
- 20:11Speaker 6: So, picture you're chilling out in the house. I've only
- 20:15Speaker 6: seen armadillos, like, on TV. They're freaky looking.
- 20:18Speaker 3: So, the dog brings the armadillo into the house, and
- 20:22Speaker 3: this is what happens.
- 20:23Speaker 9: Bingo! Drop it!
- 20:24Speaker 2: No!
- 20:25Speaker 10: No! Bingo!
- 20:29Speaker 12: Bingo!
- 20:44Speaker 8: He went from drop it to go get it.
- 20:47Speaker 5: You've seen, have you seen one? And you've not seen
- 20:48Speaker 5: it in person because you lived in Texas. I mean,
- 20:50Speaker 5: they're all over in Texas. One of my friends hit
- 20:54Speaker 5: one with their car and it was so huge. It
- 20:57Speaker 5: almost tipped the car. Well, I mean, it was like
- 21:01Speaker 5: a little Ford Fiesta, but still.
- 21:02Speaker 6: A 300 pound lioness and her cub. are on the
- 21:06Speaker 6: loose somewhere in the middle of Indiana. Picture a giant
- 21:09Speaker 6: lion and the cub.
- 21:11Speaker 14: Where were they?
- 21:11Speaker 24: We got a call from a citizen right down the
- 21:13Speaker 24: road here that he looked out his back window and
- 21:16Speaker 24: seen what appeared to be a lioness and a cub
- 21:19Speaker 24: moving through his property. Law enforcement has not made any
- 21:21Speaker 24: confirmed sightings of this lioness and cub. The public, that's
- 21:25Speaker 24: going to be our best bet as far as seeing
- 21:27Speaker 24: anything like this. To report it to 911 so we
- 21:30Speaker 24: can get some folks out here.
- 21:32Speaker 3: What were you saying, Kyle?
- 21:34Speaker 8: Oh, it's just, do they, did it escape from a zoo?
- 21:36Speaker 8: Where did it come from?
- 21:37Speaker 3: It's in Indiana. People probably had those guys as pets.
- 21:41Speaker 5: There's a documentary coming.
- 21:43Speaker 3: That's absolutely crazy.
- 21:44Speaker 6: A study found that women with no sexual desire, Kyle,
- 21:50Speaker 6: they still make whoopee two to three times a month
- 21:53Speaker 6: to help maintain relationship stability.
- 21:56Speaker 3: That's a study that says that. Okay, there's a poll.
- 21:59Speaker 6: 71% of people think that if the 9-11 attacks, which
- 22:03Speaker 6: are coming up the 25th anniversary, that if 9-11 had
- 22:06Speaker 6: happened on 7-11, that the store 7-11 would be forced
- 22:10Speaker 6: to change its name.
- 22:11Speaker 8: Oh, yeah, totally.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Yeah, 71% of people think that. I like that that's
- 22:14Speaker 3: a poll. Like somebody was like, hey.
- 22:16Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 22:17Speaker 5: Now that I'm thinking of it, they should change their name.
- 22:19Speaker 9: That's a random shower thought for sure. Like that definitely.
- 22:22Speaker 17: But they took it to the next level and actually
- 22:23Speaker 17: like went and surveyed the people and said, we got
- 22:25Speaker 17: to get this research done.
- 22:26Speaker 3: What if it would have happened on 311? Would the
- 22:28Speaker 3: band change the name?
- 22:29Speaker 5: They would have to.
- 22:30Speaker 3: They would have to change the name.
- 22:31Speaker 5: God bless them, 311.
- 22:32Speaker 6: A Southwest Airlines flight to Las Vegas turned into an
- 22:35Speaker 6: unexpected wedding when the crew members helped a couple tie
- 22:39Speaker 6: the knot at 35,000 feet. Once the crew learned the
- 22:41Speaker 6: pair were planning to open Vegas, flight attendants organized a ceremony.
- 22:44Speaker 6: The crew treated a wedding veil and they made one
- 22:47Speaker 6: out of toilet paper and they made a bouquet out
- 22:49Speaker 6: of Southwest coffee stir sticks. There were 178 passengers there
- 22:53Speaker 6: to witness. And the captain officiated because he's also a minister.
- 22:56Speaker 6: Way to go, Southwest. Way to go.
- 23:00Speaker 5: We don't ever get on those flights, do we, John Jay?
- 23:01Speaker 2: No.
- 23:02Speaker 5: We get forced in the middle seat.
- 23:04Speaker 3: What do you have for life hacks, Rich?
- 23:05Speaker 11: All right.
- 23:06Speaker 5: Well, we're crawling into the first week of September. And,
- 23:08Speaker 5: you know, people are back in school. You've got a
- 23:11Speaker 5: whole new routine. That is less time for you in
- 23:14Speaker 5: the Starbucks, our Black Rock, our Dutch Bros line. And
- 23:18Speaker 5: you have to figure that out. So here's the hack.
- 23:20Speaker 5: You get your coffee, your cold brew. You put it
- 23:22Speaker 5: in an ice cube tray overnight. When you go to
- 23:26Speaker 5: work in the morning, you just dump the cubes in
- 23:28Speaker 5: your little thermos in your Stanley along with some vanilla
- 23:32Speaker 5: protein milk or cold water. Then as you drive to work,
- 23:35Speaker 5: it all mixes together. And you've got caffeine. You've got protein.
- 23:39Speaker 5: You've got your coffee. You've got your vanilla protein drink.
- 23:42Speaker 5: It's all mixed together for you. You don't have to
- 23:43Speaker 5: stop anywhere to get it. It's probably going to save
- 23:45Speaker 5: you a bunch of dollars over the month too. for
- 23:47Speaker 5: that little recipe and more like that kind of stuff.
- 23:49Speaker 5: You can check out our Instagram page or you can
- 23:52Speaker 5: jump on johnjandrich.com.
- 23:58Speaker 16: The next segment we're going to do is called Second
- 24:02Speaker 16: Date Update because that's what we're going to try and
- 24:04Speaker 16: get and that's what the bit is called. Second Date
- 24:07Speaker 16: Update starts right now on John Jay and Rich.
- 24:10Speaker 3: Marina, good morning. You're on the air.
- 24:12Speaker 14: Hey, John Jay and Rich. I have a question for you.
- 24:15Speaker 14: It's a little debate that I've been having with my friends,
- 24:18Speaker 14: and I'm curious about your opinion.
- 24:20Speaker 13: Okay.
- 24:21Speaker 3: What happened?
- 24:22Speaker 14: So, I'm sorry, but if a guy asks me out
- 24:25Speaker 14: on a date, and he's asking me to go somewhere
- 24:28Speaker 14: where we're obviously going to have drinks, I 100% think
- 24:32Speaker 14: that this guy should be paying for my Uber there
- 24:35Speaker 14: and back.
- 24:36Speaker 25: Right?
- 24:37Speaker 14: I mean, to me, that's part of asking someone on
- 24:40Speaker 14: a date. is caring about how I'm going to get
- 24:42Speaker 14: there in the first place. When you're inviting me out,
- 24:46Speaker 14: you're choosing to pursue me. I mean, so yeah, I
- 24:50Speaker 14: think making sure that I get there home safely, that
- 24:54Speaker 14: is a huge part.
- 24:55Speaker 10: Of the deal.
- 24:55Speaker 5: And I told my friends about this. Did he offer
- 24:59Speaker 5: to come pick you up?
- 25:01Speaker 14: No, nothing.
- 25:02Speaker 13: No.
- 25:04Speaker 14: Yeah, and it's all like my friends. I told them
- 25:07Speaker 14: about it and I told them I'm not going to
- 25:09Speaker 14: see this guy again because he didn't even offer to
- 25:11Speaker 14: get my Uber. And they're the ones asking, acting like
- 25:15Speaker 14: I'm being high maintenance. I don't think I'm being high maintenance.
- 25:19Speaker 14: I think that the dating has gotten so casual and
- 25:22Speaker 14: the bar has gotten so low that we've removed the
- 25:25Speaker 14: bar and we've convinced ourselves that basic effort is asking
- 25:29Speaker 14: for too much. Well, for me, it's a non-negotiable. If
- 25:32Speaker 14: you ask me out, the Uber is on you.
- 25:35Speaker 5: Interesting.
- 25:35Speaker 6: This has been a debate I've seen like on Reddit
- 25:38Speaker 6: or something like that. This is the thing now. And
- 25:40Speaker 6: it used to not be like back in the day,
- 25:42Speaker 6: back in the day before Uber, when you ask somebody
- 25:44Speaker 6: on a date, wouldn't you just go in your own
- 25:47Speaker 6: car and meet somebody on a date?
- 25:48Speaker 17: Well, if you're talking about way back in the day,
- 25:50Speaker 17: your date would pick you up. But that's not always
- 25:52Speaker 17: safe these days.
- 25:55Speaker 5: If you're uncomfortable with giving him your address, well, you
- 25:57Speaker 5: gave him your address for the Uber. So that takes
- 26:00Speaker 5: that out of it. You're saying it's your first date, right?
- 26:03Speaker 5: This guy and you have never gone out before. And
- 26:06Speaker 5: you know you're going to go to a place where
- 26:07Speaker 5: you probably are going to drink a lot. You're saying
- 26:09Speaker 5: if you care enough about me to ask me out
- 26:11Speaker 5: to go to a bar, you should cover the drinks
- 26:14Speaker 5: and the Uber there and back.
- 26:16Speaker 8: Okay, so I have a question.
- 26:17Speaker 17: So you told your friends you're not going to go
- 26:19Speaker 17: out with this guy again. Was the rest of the
- 26:21Speaker 17: date spectacular and it's literally just that, that he didn't
- 26:25Speaker 17: pay for your Uber? Or were you already kind of
- 26:27Speaker 17: not liking him and then he didn't pay for the
- 26:29Speaker 17: Uber and you're like, that's it?
- 26:30Speaker 14: No, I mean, the date was actually, like, pretty nice.
- 26:33Speaker 14: He's funny. He was nice. You know, but to me, like,
- 26:37Speaker 14: that's not enough. Because when you get down to it,
- 26:41Speaker 14: those things kind of fade once you start having problems.
- 26:45Speaker 14: You know, and I think that that's just kind of, like,
- 26:46Speaker 14: the beginning. If somebody doesn't have the, like, the, like,
- 26:51Speaker 14: awareness for my safety from the get-go, I think there's
- 26:54Speaker 14: going to be other things down the line that I'm
- 26:55Speaker 14: going to have to coach.
- 26:57Speaker 9: You want, like, a... You want a guy that's going to, like,
- 27:00Speaker 9: think before, you know, and be ahead of the game
- 27:02Speaker 9: a little bit and be a little courteous before, you know,
- 27:05Speaker 9: you even think about it. I get it.
- 27:06Speaker 16: I understand.
- 27:07Speaker 9: I probably wouldn't be like, I'm never going to see
- 27:09Speaker 9: him again. But it would be a nice gesture if
- 27:12Speaker 9: you did it.
- 27:13Speaker 5: Just so I understand, are you mad that he didn't
- 27:15Speaker 5: offer or did you ask and he said no?
- 27:18Speaker 14: No, I'm mad that he didn't even offer. If I
- 27:21Speaker 14: asked and he said no, I absolutely would not have
- 27:23Speaker 14: met up with him.
- 27:24Speaker 3: That's fair.
- 27:24Speaker 6: Okay, so now this is a guy you go out with.
- 27:27Speaker 6: He doesn't offer. And now you're ghosting him? Like, have you,
- 27:30Speaker 6: has he reached out to you? Did he have a
- 27:31Speaker 6: good time? Does he know you're upset?
- 27:34Speaker 14: No, I don't know what he thinks or what he feels,
- 27:36Speaker 14: but I feel like at our age, he should already
- 27:40Speaker 14: have been like, oh, that's something I probably should have done.
- 27:43Speaker 6: Would you be, I would love to hear his point
- 27:46Speaker 6: of view on this. When was the last time you
- 27:47Speaker 6: went out with this guy or saw this guy? When
- 27:49Speaker 6: was his date?
- 27:50Speaker 14: Probably a couple weeks ago.
- 27:53Speaker 3: So, has he reached out to you?
- 27:55Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 27:56Speaker 3: And you just ghost him?
- 27:57Speaker 10: He has.
- 27:58Speaker 14: Yeah, I just stopped responding.
- 27:59Speaker 3: Would you be opposed to us calling him? I'd like
- 28:01Speaker 3: to get his. I wonder if he knows.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Yeah, you know what?
- 28:04Speaker 14: I am curious.
- 28:05Speaker 25: That's fine.
- 28:06Speaker 3: Because I mean.
- 28:07Speaker 6: Just my opinion. I don't think that's you ask someone
- 28:10Speaker 6: to go on a date. You meet at the movie
- 28:12Speaker 6: or you meet at the restaurant. That's you kind of
- 28:14Speaker 6: get there on your own.
- 28:15Speaker 5: It's weird. It's like I think I would probably offer
- 28:17Speaker 5: to pay. And then I don't know how I'd feel
- 28:20Speaker 5: if she demanded I pay for the Uber.
- 28:22Speaker 6: I don't know how I feel. I guess it depends
- 28:24Speaker 6: on how into the person you are. So can you
- 28:25Speaker 6: hold on for a second and we'll get his number
- 28:27Speaker 6: from you and call him?
- 28:28Speaker 3: Yeah, that's fine. What is his name? Julian. Okay, hold
- 28:32Speaker 3: on for one second. Got to call this guy and
- 28:34Speaker 3: find out.
- 28:34Speaker 6: I mean, this is interesting to give you a different
- 28:37Speaker 6: point of view of, like, we're kind of forcing a
- 28:40Speaker 6: second date.
- 28:40Speaker 8: It's like a backwards.
- 28:41Speaker 5: A second date update. He has no idea why he's
- 28:43Speaker 5: being ghosted.
- 28:43Speaker 3: I promise you that. I wonder if he's even thought
- 28:45Speaker 3: about it. No, he hasn't thought about it. So hold on.
- 28:47Speaker 6: We're going to call Julian and find out what he's
- 28:49Speaker 6: going through right now. It's an impromptu second date update.
- 28:53Speaker 6: This is next with John Jane Rich. We're kind of
- 29:03Speaker 6: in the middle of an interesting second date update. We
- 29:05Speaker 6: got Marina on the line. She just called to tell us, right, Marina?
- 29:07Speaker 6: You were saying if you go on a date with
- 29:09Speaker 6: a guy, he should pay for the Uber, right?
- 29:12Speaker 15: Right.
- 29:12Speaker 6: First date. You went on a first date with Julian.
- 29:15Speaker 6: He didn't pay for the Uber. You had a good
- 29:17Speaker 6: time on the date, but they pissed you off that
- 29:18Speaker 6: he didn't pay for your Uber or offer to pay.
- 29:21Speaker 3: That is correct. And you've ghosted him since, and it
- 29:24Speaker 3: was a couple weeks ago.
- 29:25Speaker 14: Yeah, I don't love the term ghosting, but I guess
- 29:27Speaker 14: that's what happened.
- 29:28Speaker 3: All right, so we're going to get him on the phone. Actually,
- 29:31Speaker 3: he's ready to go on the phone. Okay, good. Hold
- 29:32Speaker 3: on for one second. Let's patch him through. Patch him through. Hey, Julian.
- 29:37Speaker 1: Hello?
- 29:37Speaker 3: Hey, this is John Jane Rich.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Okay. Yeah.
- 29:41Speaker 6: So we took a call from a woman, and she
- 29:44Speaker 6: was kind of talking about dating. And she said that
- 29:48Speaker 6: she will never date a guy again if he doesn't
- 29:50Speaker 6: pay for the Uber. And the story is, you're the
- 29:53Speaker 6: guy she went out with. And you didn't offer to
- 29:56Speaker 6: pay for the Uber, right? And she's ghosting you. So
- 29:58Speaker 6: have you been ghosted by anybody recently?
- 30:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:01Speaker 1: That, to me, is ridiculous.
- 30:02Speaker 2: You know, honestly, I had no idea why she ghosted me.
- 30:05Speaker 2: You know, it came out of nowhere. But now that
- 30:08Speaker 2: you're saying that, honestly, I think that's absolutely insane.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Okay, so who ghosted you? Let's make sure we're talking
- 30:13Speaker 3: about the right person or maybe you get ghosted by everybody.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Marina.
- 30:16Speaker 3: Yes, that's it.
- 30:18Speaker 9: Yes.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:19Speaker 3: So she's ghosting you because you didn't offer to pay
- 30:21Speaker 3: for her Uber, by the way.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Yeah, that's... that's honestly the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Sorry.
- 30:27Speaker 2: I mean, that's just, I mean, I didn't know why
- 30:29Speaker 2: she goes to me. I thought things went pretty good.
- 30:32Speaker 2: You know, I mean, I checked in with her a
- 30:33Speaker 2: couple of days later, just trying to see if she
- 30:35Speaker 2: was good.
- 30:36Speaker 1: I got nothing back.
- 30:37Speaker 2: And, you know, I wasn't going to just keep blowing
- 30:39Speaker 2: up her phone or hounding her or anything. So, you know,
- 30:42Speaker 2: I thought we were on the same.
- 30:43Speaker 1: Page, but clearly we are not on the.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Same page because that is, First of all, she didn't
- 30:49Speaker 2: even mention that at all.
- 30:51Speaker 1: So I would have had to imagine.
- 30:53Speaker 2: That out of air. This woman wants me to pay
- 30:55Speaker 2: for her Uber, obviously.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Had no idea.
- 30:59Speaker 2: And secondly, even if she had asked me, I would
- 31:03Speaker 2: have told her she was out of her damn mind.
- 31:05Speaker 5: Wait, didn't you drink together?
- 31:07Speaker 19: Yeah.
- 31:09Speaker 9: So you don't feel like that's maybe a nice thing
- 31:12Speaker 9: to do for your date? Like if you're going to
- 31:14Speaker 9: go and get her all liquored up?
- 31:16Speaker 6: I think at the end of the date, you're drinking.
- 31:18Speaker 6: You're like, oh, man, you're too drunk. Hey, let me
- 31:20Speaker 6: get your Uber. But to set up a date, you
- 31:22Speaker 6: call somebody, you meet somebody on an app or whatever
- 31:24Speaker 6: it is, and you're like, hey, would you like to
- 31:25Speaker 6: go to dinner next week?
- 31:26Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely.
- 31:27Speaker 6: Okay, let's go to this restaurant and meet you there
- 31:28Speaker 6: at 7. I can't say it. we'll go to this restaurant.
- 31:31Speaker 6: I'll meet you there at seven. What's your address? I'll
- 31:32Speaker 6: send an Uber to pick you up. I think that
- 31:33Speaker 6: seems a little too, I'd wait.
- 31:35Speaker 8: I understand the getting there. Oh, heck yeah.
- 31:38Speaker 17: I understand that you got to get there on your own,
- 31:40Speaker 17: but yes, I think it would be like kind of
- 31:42Speaker 17: nice if you were drinking and you went to New York,
- 31:45Speaker 17: then you should have offered.
- 31:46Speaker 8: But the fact like, I.
- 31:48Speaker 17: Kind of wish Julian was like, oh yeah, that would
- 31:50Speaker 17: have been a really great idea. Like I've, but like
- 31:52Speaker 17: his reaction makes me feel like I think Marina was
- 31:55Speaker 17: onto something.
- 31:55Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 31:57Speaker 3: By the way, Marina.
- 31:58Speaker 2: Is this the standard out there?
- 32:00Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know.
- 32:02Speaker 5: We're figuring it out.
- 32:02Speaker 6: We're trying to figure it out. But Marina's on the phone.
- 32:05Speaker 6: And Marina, here's the guy you ghosted.
- 32:07Speaker 10: Yes.
- 32:08Speaker 9: Hi, Julian.
- 32:08Speaker 14: Marina is on the phone.
- 32:10Speaker 10: Marina heard everything.
- 32:13Speaker 14: And I'm sorry, but Julian just proved my point exactly.
- 32:18Speaker 14: Because as nice as someone can be, and Julian, you
- 32:21Speaker 14: are very nice. I had a great time.
- 32:23Speaker 10: I'm not going to lie.
- 32:25Speaker 14: I am sorry for the ghosting. However, I'm not sorry
- 32:30Speaker 14: that I have enough discernment to see what this would
- 32:33Speaker 14: be down the line, because I'm not in this to
- 32:36Speaker 14: build a boyfriend. You know, I've done this way too long.
- 32:40Speaker 14: And if something as basic as not even offering to
- 32:44Speaker 14: get my Uber is just the beginning of That would
- 32:48Speaker 14: be a whole other slew of problems where I would
- 32:50Speaker 14: have to teach you along the way just basic chivalry.
- 32:54Speaker 14: The fact that basic chivalry to you is the dumbest
- 32:57Speaker 14: thing that you've ever heard, huge red flag. That's a
- 33:00Speaker 14: red flag factory.
- 33:03Speaker 2: You said you've been doing this a lot. You've been
- 33:05Speaker 2: dating a long time? You've been dating? Yeah, of course.
- 33:07Speaker 14: Been dating since I was a teenager.
- 33:09Speaker 2: So you're still single?
- 33:11Speaker 10: Ooh.
- 33:12Speaker 14: Are you?
- 33:13Speaker 2: Ooh.
- 33:14Speaker 1: No, I'm already seeing someone else.
- 33:16Speaker 5: Oh, I don't love you.
- 33:18Speaker 9: I got it.
- 33:19Speaker 14: I got it in a row.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:21Speaker 8: I just said, I just, I don't love Julian.
- 33:25Speaker 5: The thing that bugged you, the thing that bugged you gave,
- 33:28Speaker 5: gave way to a lot of other stuff about Julian.
- 33:31Speaker 5: So you picked up on something right away. Cause I
- 33:33Speaker 5: can't imagine.
- 33:34Speaker 14: We're just adding fuel to the fire because he's already
- 33:37Speaker 14: dating someone else, but I have text messages from him
- 33:40Speaker 14: three days in a row.
- 33:41Speaker 10: So that's weird.
- 33:43Speaker 5: Yeah, Julian, I can't imagine somebody, hey, I'm a little buzzed.
- 33:47Speaker 5: I need to get a ride home and you not
- 33:48Speaker 5: offer to pay.
- 33:49Speaker 6: That is kind of... I think that's not the story.
- 33:52Speaker 6: The story is it wasn't she got buzzed. It was that, hey,
- 33:56Speaker 6: we're going to go on a date before you even
- 33:57Speaker 6: know you're going to get drunk.
- 33:59Speaker 3: I get that.
- 33:59Speaker 5: I'm trying to give him an out and he's not
- 34:02Speaker 5: even taking the out.
- 34:03Speaker 6: I think we all agree that she gets drunk on
- 34:05Speaker 6: the way home, you pay for the Uber. But going
- 34:07Speaker 6: on the first date with someone, I think saying, I'm
- 34:09Speaker 6: going to pay.
- 34:09Speaker 3: For your Uber.
- 34:10Speaker 8: Yeah, but Julian didn't agree with that.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Right. To go get blasted or anything.
- 34:17Speaker 1: This is a first date.
- 34:19Speaker 2: We're going to meet for drinks, a couple of drinks.
- 34:24Speaker 26: I drove, you know, and she didn't even say, oh,
- 34:28Speaker 26: you know, she was just like, all right, well, I'm
- 34:31Speaker 26: going to order my Uber, you know, and head home.
- 34:34Speaker 26: And I'm like, OK, it was really nice to see you,
- 34:36Speaker 26: you know, have a good night, you know, and.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Nothing in my mind was like.
- 34:42Speaker 2: Oh, I need to make sure to cover this girl's Uber.
- 34:45Speaker 2: I even paid for some of the drinks. I didn't
- 34:46Speaker 2: pay for all the drinks.
- 34:47Speaker 3: You did?
- 34:49Speaker 5: Oh, man, I'm liking you less and less.
- 34:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:51Speaker 1: You didn't cover the date.
- 34:52Speaker 8: It's hard to be on his side.
- 34:55Speaker 6: If you keep this, like there's so much more on
- 34:58Speaker 6: this date now that's caused it to go sideways. But
- 35:01Speaker 6: if you're going on a first date, does the guy
- 35:04Speaker 6: pay for the Uber?
- 35:05Speaker 5: He asked her out.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Yes.
- 35:07Speaker 3: He pays for the Uber. That's an automatic.
- 35:08Speaker 5: She doesn't have a way to get there.
- 35:10Speaker 3: But now you're adding something else to the story. If
- 35:12Speaker 3: she doesn't have a way to get there.
- 35:13Speaker 6: If you meet somebody, if you go on a dating
- 35:14Speaker 6: app and you ask to go on a date and
- 35:16Speaker 6: we're going to go meet at this restaurant at seven o'clock.
- 35:18Speaker 17: Does it change if you're meeting at a bar and
- 35:20Speaker 17: you know, there's going.
- 35:21Speaker 8: To be alcohol involved.
- 35:23Speaker 6: Well, then that's changing it still. I'm going to be,
- 35:25Speaker 6: it's a date. It's a date at a restaurant. Most
- 35:27Speaker 6: likely it's a date at a restaurant. Whatever, she's saying
- 35:29Speaker 6: date no matter what. She's not, like, it's a date
- 35:32Speaker 6: at a restaurant. First date, I'm on a dating app.
- 35:34Speaker 6: We're going to go meet at this restaurant, Chili's, at
- 35:36Speaker 6: 7 o'clock. Is the guy supposed to say, let me
- 35:39Speaker 6: send you an Uber?
- 35:40Speaker 3: That's nice if he does.
- 35:41Speaker 2: Let me tell you something. I know a couple of
- 35:43Speaker 2: guys that have tried to pay for a girl that
- 35:46Speaker 2: they met on Tinder. The girl was like, well, I
- 35:49Speaker 2: can't really get there, but if you could send me
- 35:51Speaker 2: money for my Uber. And so they sent $ 20, $ 30,
- 35:55Speaker 2: and never heard from that girl again.
- 35:56Speaker 6: Well, again, that's adding to the story. But I think
- 36:01Speaker 6: on the basic, if you're going on a first date
- 36:02Speaker 6: with somebody, is it the guy's job to say, is
- 36:05Speaker 6: it an obligation? I think it's probably nice of him
- 36:06Speaker 6: to do that. But it's also, you know, he doesn't
- 36:09Speaker 6: have to show up at the date. That's like a
- 36:10Speaker 6: girl saying, hey, I went on a date with a
- 36:12Speaker 6: guy and he didn't bring me flowers. He should have
- 36:14Speaker 6: brought me flowers.
- 36:14Speaker 9: That's true.
- 36:15Speaker 5: You make a point.
- 36:15Speaker 6: Like, you know, I just feel it. So it's a big,
- 36:18Speaker 6: and by the way, every phone line is lit up
- 36:20Speaker 6: right now, you guys. Apparently it's a big controversy.
- 36:23Speaker 1: 877-937-1047.
- 36:24Speaker 2: For her, have been offering her Ubers or maybe that's
- 36:30Speaker 2: the reason why she's so single. She's got a very
- 36:32Speaker 2: impossibly high standard and most guys are not going to
- 36:35Speaker 2: meet him. But, you know, good luck to you. Maybe
- 36:37Speaker 2: there's one out there.
- 36:38Speaker 14: Maybe you're still single because the bar is so low
- 36:40Speaker 14: that the world has just removed the bar.
- 36:43Speaker 2: I told you I'm not single. I'm seeing somebody.
- 36:46Speaker 20: And then I'm sorry.
- 36:48Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, that's right. He's moved on.
- 36:50Speaker 14: I'm sure I would be. No, I would be holding
- 36:52Speaker 14: the door open for you.
- 36:53Speaker 3: I am sure.
- 36:54Speaker 14: And a few months in, I would be paying for
- 36:56Speaker 14: your drinks. You're making yourself look real icky.
- 37:00Speaker 3: Okay, so listen. So I asked you if we could
- 37:03Speaker 3: call Julian.
- 37:05Speaker 6: This isn't part of what is going to happen because
- 37:07Speaker 6: this is now a second date update unintentionally. Would you
- 37:10Speaker 6: like to go out on a second date? We'll pay
- 37:12Speaker 6: for it, and we'll even pay for the Uber.
- 37:14Speaker 14: I'm going to let this genius guess if I'm going
- 37:16Speaker 14: to be there for a second date or not.
- 37:17Speaker 3: Well, he's got things.
- 37:18Speaker 10: Julian, do you think I'm.
- 37:19Speaker 14: Going to be there for a second date?
- 37:21Speaker 2: I can't go on a second date. I'm seeing somebody else.
- 37:24Speaker 11: All right.
- 37:26Speaker 3: All right, so no second date.
- 37:27Speaker 5: He's a one-woman man.
- 37:28Speaker 9: Disastrous.
- 37:30Speaker 6: All right, you guys. Thanks for jumping on the air
- 37:32Speaker 6: with us, both of you. Thank you for calling in, Marina.
- 37:34Speaker 6: Thanks for bringing this debate to us. It's a huge
- 37:38Speaker 6: debate right now. We'll get to it next. It's John
- 37:39Speaker 6: Jay and Rich.
- 37:49Speaker 3: Oh, my goodness.
- 37:50Speaker 6: The Uber debate is blowing up right now. Off of
- 37:54Speaker 6: Second Aid Update. Bree, your thoughts on Second Aid Update.
- 37:56Speaker 6: Pay for the Uber, not pay for the Uber. What
- 37:58Speaker 6: are your thoughts?
- 38:00Speaker 27: I don't think he should have to pay for the
- 38:01Speaker 27: Uber because, in my opinion, would a woman be held
- 38:04Speaker 27: to that same standard? If a woman were to ask
- 38:06Speaker 27: a man out on a date, would she be expected
- 38:09Speaker 27: to pay for the Uber? If that's how you got there,
- 38:11Speaker 27: then you should expect that you're going to be paying
- 38:13Speaker 27: your own way home.
- 38:14Speaker 10: You could have offered her a ride.
- 38:15Speaker 14: I think that would have been nice.
- 38:16Speaker 5: What you said, though, is you don't think she should
- 38:18Speaker 5: have to pay for the Uber. Do you mean you
- 38:20Speaker 5: don't think he should have to pay for the Uber?
- 38:22Speaker 27: Yeah, I don't think he should have to pay for it.
- 38:24Speaker 27: She should have been able to pay for an Uber
- 38:26Speaker 27: and not expect him to pay for it.
- 38:28Speaker 3: All right.
- 38:29Speaker 6: Well, thank you, Brie. Thanks for listening. I'm getting lots
- 38:32Speaker 6: of DMs and text messages. Just call us.
- 38:34Speaker 3: It's a lot easier because I don't want to respond
- 38:35Speaker 3: to all these individual DMs about second date update. Arisa,
- 38:38Speaker 3: go ahead. You're on the air.
- 38:41Speaker 18: Hey, good morning, guys. I literally think Marina is 100%
- 38:47Speaker 18: right when she says that you should pay for the
- 38:48Speaker 18: Uber on the first date.
- 38:51Speaker 10: Oh, you're honest.
- 38:51Speaker 18: Honestly, it's kind of a... Yeah, and it's just like
- 38:54Speaker 18: basic manners and like consideration. And it also ties into
- 38:57Speaker 18: the whole fact that she said she has been dating
- 38:59Speaker 18: for so long and she wants somebody that she, like,
- 39:03Speaker 18: with high standards. Like, she has high standards. And if
- 39:05Speaker 18: he clearly can't even offer, like, hey, can you, like,
- 39:09Speaker 18: I'll get you an Uber. We're going to go drinking
- 39:11Speaker 18: and whatever not or whatever, you know. He should be
- 39:14Speaker 18: paying for that, you know.
- 39:15Speaker 10: Like, I don't know.
- 39:16Speaker 18: It's just basic consideration, like, for her.
- 39:18Speaker 3: Right now, it's split down the middle right now. Yes,
- 39:21Speaker 3: it is.
- 39:21Speaker 5: Let's see.
- 39:22Speaker 3: Thanks, Arisa. Leah, Leah, Leah.
- 39:26Speaker 24: Leah.
- 39:27Speaker 3: Leah, sorry. I always get confused with the way it's
- 39:29Speaker 3: spelled out.
- 39:29Speaker 14: Hi, good morning.
- 39:30Speaker 15: No, I don't think that the expectation should be that
- 39:33Speaker 15: he has to.
- 39:33Speaker 3: Pay for the Uber.
- 39:35Speaker 15: That, I mean, that's just, to me, now, he doesn't
- 39:38Speaker 15: sound like a great catch, you know, in his response
- 39:41Speaker 15: to it, but at the same time, it shouldn't be
- 39:42Speaker 15: an expectation that he should have to pay for an Uber,
- 39:44Speaker 15: especially on the first date. I think you should be
- 39:46Speaker 15: responsible enough to get yourself there and get yourself home.
- 39:49Speaker 5: That's fair.
- 39:50Speaker 10: He's not relying on other people to do so.
- 39:51Speaker 5: So he's a jerk, but he wasn't wrong about that.
- 39:55Speaker 10: Correct.
- 39:56Speaker 3: Got it. All right. Angel. Angel, good morning. Your thoughts.
- 40:00Speaker 1: Hey.
- 40:01Speaker 11: Hey, good morning. I hope you guys are doing good today.
- 40:04Speaker 11: I personally think he should have paid for the Uber.
- 40:08Speaker 11: I think nowadays with this generation, we're losing chivalry and
- 40:13Speaker 11: we're losing how to be a gentleman. So first date,
- 40:17Speaker 11: you know, let's put on a good impression and let's
- 40:19Speaker 11: pay for that Uber. Let's get her home safe.
- 40:21Speaker 8: I like that energy.
- 40:23Speaker 5: Do you think, though, when you're meeting somebody for a
- 40:26Speaker 5: first date that you're really not thinking about how they're
- 40:28Speaker 5: getting there? You're just like, I'll see you there?
- 40:31Speaker 9: But I think the point is, is that people and
- 40:33Speaker 9: girls want that. You want someone that's going to think
- 40:36Speaker 9: that extra step ahead.
- 40:38Speaker 5: And it sounds like if she would have asked him, hey,
- 40:40Speaker 5: would you get my Uber? He would have said no anyway, right?
- 40:42Speaker 10: Right.
- 40:44Speaker 5: We got to talk back on this.
- 40:46Speaker 11: Yeah, but it goes a long way, you know, just
- 40:48Speaker 11: paying for that Uber.
- 40:49Speaker 3: You're right, Angel. Thank you.
- 40:51Speaker 4: Listen to your show this morning. This girl in this Uber,
- 40:54Speaker 4: she tripping. Like, for real. Yeah, a little more communication skills.
- 40:59Speaker 4: She'll let a guy know how she feels, especially when
- 41:01Speaker 4: she don't really know him like that.
- 41:02Speaker 3: But that's kind of bogus on her part. Just my opinion.
- 41:06Speaker 10: Peace.
- 41:07Speaker 3: Abby, your thoughts. Go ahead. You're on the air.
- 41:08Speaker 9: Abby.
- 41:11Speaker 1: Abby.
- 41:12Speaker 28: Yep, it's me.
- 41:13Speaker 12: Sorry, I didn't hear you.
- 41:15Speaker 28: I think she's freaking nuts. I just got myself back
- 41:20Speaker 28: out into the dating world after a 26-year marriage, and
- 41:23Speaker 28: if a man offered to run a first date to
- 41:28Speaker 28: send me an Uber, I would think he was a creep.
- 41:30Speaker 17: Just because you would think he would want your address,
- 41:34Speaker 17: or why?
- 41:34Speaker 8: Because it seems like that would be kind of nice.
- 41:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:39Speaker 28: No, I mean, I wouldn't give my address. I just think, also,
- 41:42Speaker 28: if you're going out on a first date to meet somebody, one,
- 41:45Speaker 28: it's dangerous to get loaded and drunk.
- 41:47Speaker 5: That's a real good point.
- 41:49Speaker 28: And two, how are you supposed to get to know
- 41:51Speaker 28: somebody if you're blasted?
- 41:53Speaker 6: Hey, you know what would be funny? If the guy's like,
- 41:55Speaker 6: I'll send you an Uber. Shaw, what's your address? And
- 41:58Speaker 6: then he pulls up in his car.
- 41:59Speaker 3: I'm your Uber.
- 42:00Speaker 2: Get in.
- 42:00Speaker 3: Oh, my God. That would be creepy.
- 42:02Speaker 9: That would be red flag.
- 42:04Speaker 3: That would be fun.
- 42:04Speaker 5: Red flag.
- 42:05Speaker 3: I know where you live.
- 42:06Speaker 8: Claudia.
- 42:09Speaker 3: Claudia, good morning. Your thoughts?
- 42:12Speaker 28: Hey, good morning, guys.
- 42:13Speaker 21: Mom of three boys here that have watched them navigate
- 42:15Speaker 21: this dating world. And her automatic expectation to think that
- 42:19Speaker 21: these boys in their 20s, early 30s are just going
- 42:22Speaker 21: to think of everything is insane.
- 42:25Speaker 28: While I 100%.
- 42:27Speaker 21: Agree, bar on dating has sat way too low. I
- 42:31Speaker 21: think the demise of every relationship, marriage, in other words,
- 42:34Speaker 21: is that we now expect our partners to read our mind.
- 42:38Speaker 21: These guys are like, the last girl I got an
- 42:41Speaker 21: Uber for hated me for it.
- 42:42Speaker 14: This time I didn't get an Uber.
- 42:44Speaker 20: Last time I held open the door, she yelled at
- 42:46Speaker 20: me because I was a feminist.
- 42:47Speaker 21: I watch my boys try to navigate this dating world,
- 42:51Speaker 21: and the spectrum of women is so off the chart
- 42:54Speaker 21: that they're literally now afraid to go on dates.
- 42:57Speaker 6: Wow, that's so interesting and an interesting point of view
- 43:00Speaker 6: coming from the mom.
- 43:01Speaker 3: Thank you, Claudia. Thanks for listening.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 43:05Speaker 2: Have a great day, guys.
- 43:05Speaker 10: You too.
- 43:06Speaker 3: Michelle, good morning.
- 43:08Speaker 18: Hey, good morning.
- 43:09Speaker 10: I want to know what's happening to women today.
- 43:12Speaker 19: They're insulting their own intelligence and expecting men to take
- 43:15Speaker 19: care of everything. Where's their independence? They all talk about
- 43:18Speaker 19: how strong they are. I can clearly say I'm a
- 43:20Speaker 19: strong woman, and this is the kind of woman that
- 43:23Speaker 19: I would tell my adult son to stay away from.
- 43:26Speaker 25: It's wrong.
- 43:28Speaker 3: All right, Michelle. Thank you very much. Thank you for
- 43:30Speaker 3: calling in.
- 43:31Speaker 25: You're welcome.
- 43:31Speaker 5: I wasn't keeping score. Who's for and who's against? Which
- 43:35Speaker 5: one won?
- 43:35Speaker 3: Do we know?
- 43:35Speaker 8: We're about half skis.
- 43:36Speaker 5: About half skis.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Oh, you think so?
- 43:38Speaker 10: We're half?
- 43:39Speaker 1: Okay.
- 43:39Speaker 3: Because I was going to kind of like wrap it up.
- 43:42Speaker 5: If we can't.
- 43:43Speaker 3: Well, there's still a lot. Everybody's still calling in. It
- 43:46Speaker 3: could be.
- 43:46Speaker 17: Okay just to be a split decision and an agree
- 43:49Speaker 17: to disagree type of situation.
- 43:50Speaker 3: We're going to play a minute to win it. We
- 43:53Speaker 3: need a contestant.
- 43:54Speaker 13: 877-937- 1047-877-937-1047.
- 43:57Speaker 3: It is September 1st today, you guys. It is officially
- 43:59Speaker 3: September 1st. And to celebrate September 1st, Bam.
- 44:11Speaker 1: All right.
- 44:11Speaker 5: Before we get started.
- 44:12Speaker 3: I have a surprise for you. I don't know if
- 44:14Speaker 3: I'm ready for this.
- 44:15Speaker 9: I only say one word to each other. Good morning.
- 44:18Speaker 9: That's actually two words, but you do realize it's September, right?
- 44:22Speaker 1: Do you remember? It's September already.
- 44:24Speaker 3: It's September. September.
- 44:26Speaker 26: I'm starting to realize that maybe it's time I wake up.
- 44:29Speaker 8: This thing sounds amazing on the radio, doesn't it?
- 44:33Speaker 11: Let's get the party started.
- 44:35Speaker 3: So I got some things to look forward to in September.
- 44:39Speaker 26: Ah, yes.
- 44:39Speaker 8: What you got?
- 44:42Speaker 6: You've got, I didn't know, you guys know Pixar's Ascending
- 44:45Speaker 6: Cars is coming to the big screen to celebrate the
- 44:48Speaker 6: 20th anniversary.
- 44:48Speaker 9: Yeah, I did see that.

- 45:35Speaker 6: in September. Okay, we have our contestant. We got Chloe.
- 45:39Speaker 6: Good morning, Chloe.
- 45:40Speaker 13: Hi.
- 45:42Speaker 3: What are you doing right now?
- 45:45Speaker 9: I'm going to work.
- 45:46Speaker 3: What part of town do you work in?
- 45:48Speaker 24: I work in Tolleson.
- 45:49Speaker 3: And what do you do for a living? Are you
- 45:50Speaker 3: a farmer?
- 45:52Speaker 14: No, I'm a speech therapist at an elementary school.
- 45:56Speaker 3: Oh, what a great job. Okay, well, I hope you
- 45:57Speaker 3: win that thousand bucks.
- 46:00Speaker 9: I know. All right, let's play.
- 46:02Speaker 23: John Jay and Rich have $ 1, 000 cash for you from
- 46:05Speaker 23: Peoria Ford right now.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Minute to win it.
- 46:08Speaker 5: Oh, I am itching to give away this $ 1, 000. I
- 46:10Speaker 5: hope it's you, Chloe. 60 seconds on the clock. Let's go.
- 46:14Speaker 5: If you are one of Ella's fellas, what country singer's
- 46:18Speaker 5: fans are you part of?
- 46:21Speaker 29: Ella Langley.
- 46:24Speaker 5: Which iconic coffee chain is famous for its seasonal pumpkin
- 46:26Speaker 5: spice latte released each autumn?
- 46:28Speaker 25: Starbucks.
- 46:31Speaker 5: What is the smallest U.S. state by area?
- 46:38Speaker 2: Rhode Island.
- 46:40Speaker 5: What Paramount Network drama series centers on the Dutton family
- 46:43Speaker 5: and their Montana ranch?
- 46:48Speaker 9: On the Dutton family?
- 46:50Speaker 20: Yellow Sun?
- 46:52Speaker 5: In 10-pin bowling, how many consecutive strikes are required to
- 46:55Speaker 5: bowl a perfect game of 300?
- 47:01Speaker 9: Um.
- 47:02Speaker 20: 12.
- 47:03Speaker 5: What annual cycling race through France is famous for awarding
- 47:06Speaker 5: its overall leader the yellow jersey?
- 47:11Speaker 21: Yellow jersey.
- 47:14Speaker 10: Um.
- 47:15Speaker 27: Oh, the Tour de France.
- 47:17Speaker 5: What Apple TV sci-fi series follows thousands of people living
- 47:20Speaker 5: in a massive underground structure?
- 47:21Speaker 4: Oh, you ran out of time, Chloe, but you did
- 47:24Speaker 4: so good!
- 47:25Speaker 3: Oh, God.
- 47:28Speaker 5: Pretty good.
- 47:28Speaker 10: Pretty strong.
- 47:29Speaker 5: You didn't miss any. You just ran out of time.
- 47:31Speaker 27: That's too slow.
- 47:32Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 47:33Speaker 3: Great job, Chloe. Thanks for playing. Thanks for listening.
- 47:35Speaker 8: Thanks.
- 47:38Speaker 5: That show is silo, by the way, silo on Apple TV.
- 47:41Speaker 3: Hey, Emily, Emily, you got a comment on second date update?
- 47:45Speaker 21: Yeah.
- 47:45Speaker 28: I just think it's interesting that we are automatically saying
- 47:50Speaker 28: that chivalry amounts to dollars. Like, He could text us
- 47:54Speaker 28: first in the morning.
- 47:55Speaker 1: That's free.
- 47:56Speaker 28: He could hold the door for us. That's free. He
- 47:58Speaker 28: could call us and tell us, hey, how was your
- 48:01Speaker 28: day today and care about us as people. And that's
- 48:04Speaker 28: all free. But he didn't pay for our Uber. So therefore,
- 48:07Speaker 28: he doesn't get a second date. Like, that's kind of shitty. Like,
- 48:09Speaker 28: how can these men pay?
- 48:14Speaker 3: She cussed.
- 48:15Speaker 8: Sometimes you get real fired up. You got to keep
- 48:17Speaker 8: those swear words.
- 48:18Speaker 3: But she got a good point, though.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Right.
- 48:20Speaker 3: Like you say, chivalry is dead because you won't pay
- 48:22Speaker 3: for the Uber.
- 48:23Speaker 10: Hmm.
- 48:24Speaker 5: Like just saying, how you doing? Holding the door open.
- 48:27Speaker 8: We also did talk to him though.
- 48:28Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 48:30Speaker 5: And Colin liked him. So I don't like him. I
- 48:31Speaker 5: don't like him.
- 48:34Speaker 3: Forget him. The person it's the idea, the concept.
- 48:37Speaker 8: I agree with what she's saying.
- 48:38Speaker 17: Chivalry doesn't have to equal money, but in that particular situation,
- 48:42Speaker 17: he didn't seem chivalrous.
- 48:43Speaker 8: In any way.
- 48:45Speaker 3: Um, I've been talking a lot about the weather and
- 48:48Speaker 3: the weather apps.
- 48:50Speaker 6: And I found something or something that on Tik TOK
- 48:52Speaker 6: today that was Made a lot of sense now. So
- 48:56Speaker 6: I was telling you, like, I think it was on Friday, Richard,
- 48:58Speaker 6: there's a big storm coming.
- 48:59Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 48:59Speaker 3: And it didn't come.
- 49:00Speaker 5: It didn't come.
- 49:01Speaker 3: It didn't say on my phone.
- 49:01Speaker 5: Until the next day.
- 49:02Speaker 3: It didn't say on my phone that there was a
- 49:03Speaker 3: big storm coming out. That's so stated.
- 49:05Speaker 6: The Grand Canyon flooded. I mean, there were storms that came,
- 49:07Speaker 6: but it didn't, around here, it didn't happen. And it's
- 49:09Speaker 6: happened a lot where I hear that storms are coming.
- 49:11Speaker 6: This buddy of mine in San Diego texts me all
- 49:13Speaker 6: the time. There's a big storm coming to your house.
- 49:14Speaker 6: And I'm like, so far, nothing. And then I see this.
- 49:18Speaker 6: It says people have been complaining on TikTok. that their
- 49:20Speaker 6: weather apps seem to always be wrong and don't work
- 49:23Speaker 6: like they used to do you guys know why.
- 49:25Speaker 5: No why doge doge.
- 49:29Speaker 3: You remember what doge was The Dogecoin?
- 49:32Speaker 17: Yeah, it was like the thing for efficiency in the government.
- 49:35Speaker 6: Yeah, Elon Musk came in and started getting rid of things.
- 49:37Speaker 6: So I guess one of the things Doge got rid of.
- 49:39Speaker 6: But here, they explain right here.
- 49:40Speaker 25: It seems many people are saying everyone's weather app is wrong.
- 49:43Speaker 25: TikTok's full of people complaining their forecast can't tell them
- 49:46Speaker 25: whether it's going to rain anymore.
- 49:47Speaker 3: And they're blaming the apps. They're blaming the phones. But
- 49:50Speaker 3: it's not the apps. It's not the phones.
- 49:52Speaker 2: Might be Doge.
- 49:53Speaker 25: Almost every weather app in this country runs on federal data.
- 49:56Speaker 25: NOAA data, National Weather Service data, and Doge gutted the source.
- 50:00Speaker 25: Here's the damage. About $ 1. 6 billion cut from NOAA's budget.
- 50:04Speaker 25: More than 800 NOAA workers gone. Fewer weather balloons going up,
- 50:08Speaker 25: the ones that measure air pressure, temperature, humidity, and wind.
- 50:12Speaker 25: And a 20-year-old Arctic ice program cut. And the next
- 50:15Speaker 25: generation satellite that was supposed to replace two aging satellites
- 50:18Speaker 25: that may start failing in the next few years, scrapped.
- 50:21Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 50:22Speaker 9: Wow.
- 50:22Speaker 5: I had no idea.
- 50:23Speaker 3: Neither did I.
- 50:24Speaker 5: Because it used to be like, it's going to rain
- 50:25Speaker 5: in your house in the next eight minutes and then
- 50:27Speaker 5: it would rain.
- 50:28Speaker 3: It was really buttoned down.
- 50:29Speaker 25: Yeah.
- 50:29Speaker 3: So that makes a lot of sense because I'm like,
- 50:31Speaker 3: what the heck's going on with Apple? Yeah.
- 50:33Speaker 6: I just go to that weather app on Apple. I
- 50:34Speaker 6: know there's other stuff, right? Like your husband has a
- 50:36Speaker 6: whole Doppler system set up.
- 50:37Speaker 11: Oh, yeah.
- 50:38Speaker 8: He looks directly at the radar. He doesn't trust any apps.
- 50:41Speaker 3: Right, right, right. Anyway. I finished watching Furious yesterday. It's
- 50:47Speaker 3: one of the top shows on Hulu. Actually, you know what?
- 50:49Speaker 3: It's not number one on Hulu. It's number two on Hulu.
- 50:50Speaker 8: What's number one?
- 50:52Speaker 3: 9 to 5, the movie.
- 50:53Speaker 5: Oh, that makes sense.
- 50:54Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 50:55Speaker 3: But I finished watching it, and it is a good show, man.
- 50:58Speaker 3: It is one of those shows you just keep watching.
- 51:00Speaker 3: So if you get a chance, in the fun serial
- 51:03Speaker 3: killer shows, it is a fun serial killer show.
- 51:06Speaker 8: There is comedy in it as well.
- 51:08Speaker 3: But what else? What else? What are you watching, Kyle?
- 51:10Speaker 3: What did you watch today?
- 51:11Speaker 17: Today I watched the Ray Gunn untold story of the B-Girl.
- 51:15Speaker 17: She's the Australian breakdancer that, like, turned into a meme
- 51:18Speaker 17: after the Paris Olympics.
- 51:19Speaker 5: That might have been the biggest thing of that Olympics
- 51:21Speaker 5: that year.
- 51:21Speaker 8: Yeah, it dropped this morning on Netflix.
- 51:23Speaker 17: It's pretty fascinating because you really, like, it's good to
- 51:27Speaker 17: see the humanity in her. Like, how she got, like,
- 51:31Speaker 17: one of the biggest questions after that was, how did
- 51:33Speaker 17: this person even get into the Olympics, right?
- 51:35Speaker 8: Like, how did this even happen?
- 51:44Speaker 3: I know I'm a dorky white woman who's an academic.
- 51:48Speaker 21: And I'm a b-girl.
- 51:49Speaker 10: Dr. Raven!
- 51:52Speaker 17: And so it goes, like, through her entire journey, like,
- 51:55Speaker 17: when she got picked to go to the Olympics, how
- 51:57Speaker 17: she was like, oh, my God, like, I'm going to
- 51:59Speaker 17: the Olympics?
- 51:59Speaker 8: Like, that's insane. And then her parents are hilarious, like,
- 52:03Speaker 8: so charming.
- 52:03Speaker 17: They're like, did you ever think Rachel growing up would
- 52:07Speaker 17: be in the Olympics?
- 52:08Speaker 8: Did you ever think that? And they just start laughing.
- 52:13Speaker 8: And her husband was actually her coach.
- 52:15Speaker 17: And it goes over, there was like all these conspiracy
- 52:16Speaker 17: theories that she cheated her way in because he was
- 52:19Speaker 17: a judge.
- 52:19Speaker 8: And that like, wasn't the.
- 52:20Speaker 17: Case, but they interview like real legit breakers in, in
- 52:25Speaker 17: the industry. And they're like, we can't believe she got in.
- 52:29Speaker 17: And like, there was one that was like, she completely
- 52:31Speaker 17: embarrassed us. And then afterwards they were like, some of
- 52:34Speaker 17: the things she did, if you guys remember, like the
- 52:36Speaker 17: kangaroo move sprinkler.
- 52:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:38Speaker 8: And there was like really deep meanings behind all of it.
- 52:41Speaker 8: It didn't really translate into her breakdance. But afterwards, it's like, oh, man.
- 52:45Speaker 17: And the world just came piling down on her. So
- 52:48Speaker 17: it's like you kind of like feel really bad for her.
- 52:51Speaker 17: And then I didn't know this, but like Richard Branson
- 52:53Speaker 17: reached out to her when she was like at the
- 52:55Speaker 17: lowest low. And everyone was like really, like really, really
- 52:59Speaker 17: saying bad things about her.
- 53:00Speaker 8: And he was like, I like that you thought outside
- 53:01Speaker 8: of the box. Come party with me.
- 53:03Speaker 17: And that turned it all around for her.
- 53:04Speaker 3: Good for her.
- 53:05Speaker 6: Because I watched 10 minutes of it and I really
- 53:07Speaker 6: like her. She was very likable. There's a guy, too.
- 53:11Speaker 3: The guy's got curly hair, and he's like, I'm a breakdancer.
- 53:13Speaker 3: My name is Sammy Sex.
- 53:14Speaker 8: That's her husband.
- 53:15Speaker 3: That's her husband? I'm not to the point yet where
- 53:17Speaker 3: you find out they're married.
- 53:18Speaker 5: He's like a real breaker.
- 53:20Speaker 3: He talks about it. They meet in the break room,
- 53:22Speaker 3: and they start talking.
- 53:23Speaker 8: Yeah, they worked at a call center. That's how they met.
- 53:26Speaker 3: That's her husband?
- 53:27Speaker 5: He didn't make it in the Olympics, and she did.
- 53:28Speaker 10: Wow.
- 53:29Speaker 3: I'm literally 10 minutes in and they showed this guy's
- 53:31Speaker 3: talking about, why are they showing this guy? He's got
- 53:32Speaker 3: a mustache. He's curly hair.
- 53:33Speaker 6: And he talks about meeting her in the break room
- 53:35Speaker 6: at work.
- 53:36Speaker 3: And he was a break dancer. And he was talking
- 53:37Speaker 3: about the movie Breaking.
- 53:38Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 53:38Speaker 3: Remember that movie Breaking?
- 53:39Speaker 2: Of course.
- 53:40Speaker 17: And he's so lovable because he is like the most
- 53:43Speaker 17: supportive husband you.
- 53:44Speaker 8: Could ever have.
- 53:45Speaker 3: Oh, that's good. And Peyton, you saw the Love Island reunion, right?
- 53:47Speaker 2: Oh, yes.
- 53:48Speaker 9: The Love Island season eight reunion was last night. And
- 53:50Speaker 9: it was so good. It was hosted by Ariana Maddox
- 53:53Speaker 9: and Andy Cohen, which I kind of was like, why
- 53:55Speaker 9: are we like the islanders kept having to explain some
- 53:58Speaker 9: of the gen z slang to them and i was
- 54:00Speaker 9: like come on like you guys should know this you
- 54:03Speaker 9: should know this but it was really good there was
- 54:04Speaker 9: a lot of tea you could definitely tell some people
- 54:06Speaker 9: were pr trained other people were not i think it
- 54:09Speaker 9: put a lot of attention on the core four and
- 54:11Speaker 9: it showed a lot of their true colors the tea
- 54:13Speaker 9: was hot it was so good it was giving like
- 54:15Speaker 9: baby baddies Oh, good.
- 54:17Speaker 6: So that's on Peacock. The Ray Gunn thing is on Netflix.
- 54:22Speaker 6: And Furious is on Hulu. Those are the three shows
- 54:25Speaker 6: we just talked about. Women are sharing the most alarming
- 54:37Speaker 6: things they've seen at a guy's place for the first time.
- 54:41Speaker 6: What's the most nope thing you've seen when you went
- 54:44Speaker 6: over to a guy's house for the first time? Sometimes
- 54:47Speaker 6: you walk into someone's house, they say, and it can
- 54:49Speaker 6: reveal more than the person intended.
- 54:52Speaker 3: So we're going to get Joanna. Joanna, what'd you see
- 54:54Speaker 3: when you walked into a guy's house?
- 54:57Speaker 20: I saw a mural of him as a Greek god,
- 54:59Speaker 20: as in Poseidon.
- 55:03Speaker 9: Well, that's so good.
- 55:03Speaker 5: How are we going to top that?
- 55:06Speaker 14: I don't know, but it was hilarious.
- 55:08Speaker 20: He's like, well, I'm a water sign. He's like, but
- 55:09Speaker 20: I don't like the water. And I'm like, well, why
- 55:11Speaker 20: would you get that mural of yourself?
- 55:15Speaker 14: But yeah, I was like, no, we got to go.
- 55:18Speaker 3: Did you see him again after that or that was it?
- 55:21Speaker 10: No.
- 55:22Speaker 20: Um, we tried, but it was just really weird because
- 55:25Speaker 20: he was like petrified of the water, but he just
- 55:28Speaker 20: saw himself as a Poseidon. And I'm like, that's, that's
- 55:32Speaker 20: just weird. And, um, he's not even like Greek religion
- 55:36Speaker 20: or anything.
- 55:36Speaker 19: He didn't actually.
- 55:37Speaker 18: Believe in it, but he got the mural of himself.
- 55:39Speaker 20: So it was just kind of like, is that really you?
- 55:43Speaker 20: Or is that just something you're just pretending? So it
- 55:46Speaker 20: looks cool.
- 55:47Speaker 6: I'm reading the comments on the Reddit thread. And your
- 55:51Speaker 6: comment is better than any of them. It says, here
- 55:53Speaker 6: are the top five most memorable responses, okay? It says,
- 55:56Speaker 6: a mattress that looked like a health hazard, a used
- 55:59Speaker 6: you-know-what on the floor, a roommate in one bed, a
- 56:04Speaker 6: giant photo of her face on the wall, and a
- 56:06Speaker 6: home overrun by animals. And Joanna is a guy painted
- 56:10Speaker 6: as a Poseidon mural.
- 56:12Speaker 3: I think you win.
- 56:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:14Speaker 9: That's hilarious.
- 56:15Speaker 1: Oh, that's funny.
- 56:17Speaker 5: I hope you tell that story everywhere you go because
- 56:19Speaker 5: it is good.
- 56:20Speaker 2: I do.
- 56:21Speaker 14: It is hilarious.
- 56:21Speaker 20: Cause I'm just like, yeah. Cause like, I'm like, I'm
- 56:23Speaker 20: a water sign. So I'm like, that's cool.
- 56:25Speaker 9: You know?
- 56:25Speaker 20: And then he was like, no, I'm just, you know,
- 56:28Speaker 20: I don't even believe in it, but I got the
- 56:30Speaker 20: mural and I'm like, okay, well that's just weird.
- 56:33Speaker 14: Let's go.
- 56:33Speaker 16: Bye.
- 56:34Speaker 5: Is there any chance you snapped a picture of your
- 56:37Speaker 5: phone of said mural?
- 56:39Speaker 20: No, this is like a long time ago. It was
- 56:41Speaker 20: like when I was in my early twenties in college.
- 56:44Speaker 20: So I didn't even like have a cool phone to
- 56:46Speaker 20: take the picture, to keep it on there. So I
- 56:48Speaker 20: couldn't even take a picture.
- 56:50Speaker 11: But I don't know.
- 56:51Speaker 20: It was really cool, but it was definitely did not
- 56:53Speaker 20: look like him at all.
- 56:56Speaker 5: Well, thanks for calling in.
- 57:01Speaker 3: Thank you very much for listening. Fantastic.
- 57:03Speaker 2: Bye.
- 57:04Speaker 10: Bye.
- 57:04Speaker 3: Thanks.
- 57:05Speaker 15: Wow.
- 57:06Speaker 3: Are we going to be able to talk to this director?
- 57:07Speaker 3: Have you talked to the director? Yeah. Are you talking
- 57:10Speaker 3: to him right now?
- 57:12Speaker 9: Okay.
- 57:12Speaker 3: There's a guy.
- 57:14Speaker 6: He's a director, he's a producer and he posted on
- 57:16Speaker 6: social media the other day that he's filming something in
- 57:19Speaker 6: Phoenix and he needs local actors.
- 57:22Speaker 3: And I reached out to him. I was like, Hey,
- 57:24Speaker 3: I think we can help you find those local actors.
- 57:25Speaker 6: And the reason is because in his bio, he played
- 57:28Speaker 6: a character on a show that I just watched that
- 57:30Speaker 6: I really like. So I was like, let me get
- 57:31Speaker 6: him on the phone. And he said he'd go down.
- 57:34Speaker 6: So here's the deal. Hopefully he'll jump on there with
- 57:37Speaker 6: his necks, but it's a, what, what's so funny?
- 57:41Speaker 10: What?
- 57:42Speaker 1: What?
- 57:42Speaker 3: I just heard you laugh.
- 57:45Speaker 5: It's what you said.
- 57:46Speaker 3: What'd I say?
- 57:46Speaker 8: Just the way it came out.
- 57:48Speaker 3: What'd I say?
- 57:48Speaker 5: You said he'd go down.
- 57:52Speaker 6: Oh, you guys. You guys and your childish. He probably does.
- 57:56Speaker 6: You do anything to get a role. Be in a movie.
- 58:00Speaker 6: Hopefully we'll talk to him after Olivia Deen.
- 58:02Speaker 9: All right. So I saw on Instagram that.
- 58:12Speaker 6: A director, a casting, a producer. He's looking for local
- 58:17Speaker 6: actors for something he's filming. And I had a couple
- 58:20Speaker 6: of people send it to me. And so I shot
- 58:21Speaker 6: him a DM. I was like, hey, jump on the
- 58:22Speaker 6: radio show. We'll help find you some people. But then
- 58:25Speaker 6: I went into his IMDB. So I want to talk
- 58:28Speaker 6: to him.
- 58:29Speaker 3: Austin, are you there?
- 58:29Speaker 10: I am.
- 58:31Speaker 25: Hi.
- 58:32Speaker 3: Good morning. You're on the air.
- 58:32Speaker 10: Oh, great.
- 58:34Speaker 2: It's good to be here.
- 58:35Speaker 3: Are you from here?
- 58:37Speaker 10: I am. I'm originally from Gilbert, Arizona. I went to
- 58:40Speaker 10: Mesquite High.
- 58:41Speaker 5: Right on.
- 58:42Speaker 9: Wildcats.
- 58:43Speaker 10: I started performing all over the valley. I started at
- 58:45Speaker 10: Valley Youth here over in Phoenix.
- 58:48Speaker 3: Oh, you did with Bob?
- 58:50Speaker 2: Yeah, Bob Cooper.
- 58:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 58:51Speaker 9: The Coop.
- 58:52Speaker 3: Bob's great. Boy, a lot of people come out of there, right?
- 58:55Speaker 3: Emma Stone.
- 58:56Speaker 10: Oh, yeah.
- 58:56Speaker 3: Jordan Sparks.
- 58:57Speaker 10: Oh, yeah, so many people. Yeah, a lot of people.
- 59:00Speaker 3: Come out of there. That's so cool that you went there. Okay, good.
- 59:02Speaker 3: So now just backing up that you are legit.
- 59:05Speaker 6: So I want to ask you about Scarpetta, but I
- 59:07Speaker 6: also want to get to what your casting call is.
- 59:09Speaker 3: So let's get it to your cast. call real quick.
- 59:10Speaker 3: What are you looking for and what are you filming?
- 59:13Speaker 10: So I am the executive producer of a movie called
- 59:17Speaker 10: Sales Tax that we are filming in late spring, early summer,
- 59:22Speaker 10: next year, 2027 in the Valley, specifically in Maricopa County.
- 59:27Speaker 10: Most of our locations were still locking down and But
- 59:30Speaker 10: what we're really looking for right now, not just cast,
- 59:34Speaker 10: because I did put out that sort of casting call
- 59:36Speaker 10: on Instagram, we're also looking for... So anybody that would
- 59:39Speaker 10: be interested in being in a movie that's all local
- 59:42Speaker 10: to Arizona, because we're filming the whole thing in Arizona,
- 59:47Speaker 10: somewhat of a love letter to Arizona in some ways.
- 59:49Speaker 10: But also, we're looking for qualified production crew as well. Also,
- 59:56Speaker 10: anybody who has potential... uh, investor resources or anybody that
- 1:00:01Speaker 10: has any resources, like, like for instance, one of our locations,
- 1:00:05Speaker 10: a giant mansion that takes place in like paradise Valley,
- 1:00:08Speaker 10: you know, a couple of restaurants.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:00:10Speaker 5: We want, we want access to that too. Before the movie,
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: we want access to the mansion.
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 1:00:16Speaker 10: Come on, come on by, come on by, grab some catering.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: So all these things you're looking for and what else?
- 1:00:23Speaker 8: Uh, yeah.
- 1:00:23Speaker 10: So crew we're looking for, um, We have a car,
- 1:00:27Speaker 10: a picture car that's a Volkswagen Bug that we haven't
- 1:00:30Speaker 10: found yet. The whole movie takes place in sort of
- 1:00:33Speaker 10: the late 90s. It's a true story about my fellow
- 1:00:36Speaker 10: executive producer's father, who was a jewelry salesman across the valley.
- 1:00:41Speaker 10: He was a commercial jewelry salesman, but this one, we're
- 1:00:44Speaker 10: trying to find spaces that have that very... Um, Sonoran
- 1:00:49Speaker 10: Southwestern iconic Arizona energy to it.
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: So where can people get ahold of you? How do they,
- 1:00:56Speaker 6: how do they say, Hey, I have the bug. Hey,
- 1:00:58Speaker 6: I have the mansion. I have the whatever.
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:01:01Speaker 10: So if you want to be a part of the cast,
- 1:01:03Speaker 10: if you want to be a part of the crew,
- 1:01:04Speaker 10: if you have any resources to, uh, investors, anybody who's
- 1:01:07Speaker 10: invested in art, uh, in Arizona, again, it's the love
- 1:01:10Speaker 10: letter to Arizona. So the preservation of it on film, um,
- 1:01:14Speaker 10: resources like the ones I named, you can reach me
- 1:01:17Speaker 10: on Instagram, uh, at Austin T McMains. That's a U
- 1:01:22Speaker 10: S T I N T M C M A I
- 1:01:25Speaker 10: N S. And also my executive producer, Tim Oaks at
- 1:01:30Speaker 10: Tiz Timothy. If you just give us a follow and
- 1:01:33Speaker 10: then DM me directly and just say, just tell me
- 1:01:38Speaker 10: about you and what resource you have to offer. If that's,
- 1:01:41Speaker 10: you want to be a part of cast, you want
- 1:01:42Speaker 10: to be a part of the crew. Do you have
- 1:01:44Speaker 10: any of these resources that I'm linked?
- 1:01:48Speaker 6: Can you send us a couple of scripts? Can we
- 1:01:51Speaker 6: audition all of us here on the show? Is there
- 1:01:52Speaker 6: a serial killer? Is there a serial killer in this movie?
- 1:01:55Speaker 6: You'd be perfect for that. I would like to audition
- 1:01:57Speaker 6: for the role of serial killer.
- 1:01:58Speaker 10: Actually, I wrote it with.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: You in mind.
- 1:02:02Speaker 5: Then I'd like to be a Chicago cop who's done
- 1:02:04Speaker 5: in his luck. I want to do the interview. I
- 1:02:06Speaker 5: want to interview the purse. Okay, great.
- 1:02:09Speaker 3: So how would you do that?
- 1:02:10Speaker 5: The Chicago cop?
- 1:02:11Speaker 25: Yeah.
- 1:02:12Speaker 5: I get a perp like you down here in the office.
- 1:02:14Speaker 5: I call my wife. I say, what's for dinner? Cause
- 1:02:15Speaker 5: this canary is going to chirp.
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: I love it.
- 1:02:18Speaker 13: I love it.
- 1:02:19Speaker 10: I love, Hey, you're cast.
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:02:22Speaker 10: So guys, we've got that covered. Yeah.
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: You should come in here and come in the studio
- 1:02:27Speaker 3: and let us audition. I think it'd be fun.
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: That would be awesome.
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: What about Kyle? Kyle could be the cool mom. That'd
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: be kind of fun.
- 1:02:36Speaker 8: Oh yeah.
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:02:41Speaker 6: So when I went to your Instagram, after I saw
- 1:02:44Speaker 6: the video, it says that you were in the TV show, Scarpetta,
- 1:02:47Speaker 6: which I watched every episode starring Nicole Kidman.
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: Yes, that is true. Who did you play in Scarpetta?
- 1:02:55Speaker 10: I play the character of August Ryan. So if you
- 1:02:58Speaker 10: haven't seen script that it takes place over the course
- 1:03:00Speaker 10: of two timelines.
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: So it's 2026.
- 1:03:02Speaker 10: And then another timeline is 1998. And so, you know,
- 1:03:07Speaker 10: Nicole Kidman, Jamie Lee Curtis, Bobby kind of like they're
- 1:03:10Speaker 10: all in that 2026 timeline. And then, uh, we follow
- 1:03:14Speaker 10: a completely different timeline at the same time. That's 1998.
- 1:03:18Speaker 10: I play the younger version of one of the primary
- 1:03:21Speaker 10: characters in the 2026 timeline. So they cast like a
- 1:03:24Speaker 10: young Nicole Kidman, a young Jamie Lee Curtis, and a young–
- 1:03:28Speaker 10: I play young David Hornsby. You might know him from
- 1:03:30Speaker 10: like Mythic Quest or It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. He
- 1:03:33Speaker 10: was cricket in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
- 1:03:36Speaker 28: Yeah.
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: Wait a minute.
- 1:03:38Speaker 6: I watched that whole– every single person you just mentioned,
- 1:03:40Speaker 6: Bobby Cannavale, the Simon guy, the guy that now Nicole
- 1:03:44Speaker 6: Kidman is I think dating in real life.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: I think they met on the set, right?
- 1:03:47Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: Um, I cannot place the character that you are. Are you,
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: wait a minute. Are you the guy? Do you know
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: what I'm talking about?
- 1:03:55Speaker 10: I'm the guy.
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: No way.
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: You're the guy.
- 1:03:58Speaker 3: Wow. It is an honor to speak to you, Austin. Wow.
- 1:04:04Speaker 3: You're the guy. Okay.
- 1:04:06Speaker 9: Wait, what's the guy?
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: I don't want to ruin it. I don't want.
- 1:04:09Speaker 8: To ruin it. Is he this guy?
- 1:04:11Speaker 10: You gotta watch this show. You gotta watch the show.
- 1:04:14Speaker 3: No, no, no, no. He's the he is the guy. No,
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: look at me. Look at me. Look at me. He's. Oh,
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: he's the guy.
- 1:04:21Speaker 8: The guy.
- 1:04:23Speaker 10: What I can say about my character is I am
- 1:04:26Speaker 10: sort of this rookie cop. He's kind of iconic, like
- 1:04:28Speaker 10: braces in his mouth.
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:04:31Speaker 10: He's definitely not.
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:04:34Speaker 29: Wow.
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: Is that weird, though? Because the guy that plays you
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: as an adult is pretty damn ugly.
- 1:04:40Speaker 10: The question we did have is why he has braces still.
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: It's a really slow movie.
- 1:04:52Speaker 6: And I think they cleared a season two, right?
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: Well, you won't be on.
- 1:04:55Speaker 10: Oh yeah. Yeah.
- 1:04:59Speaker 3: Hey, did you meet Nicole Kidman? Was she cool?
- 1:05:03Speaker 10: So, so because they filmed the two different timelines, I
- 1:05:05Speaker 10: actually never got to run into her cause we'd be
- 1:05:07Speaker 10: on set at the different times, but she produced it.
- 1:05:09Speaker 10: So I'm sure she's seen my footage. I would, I would,
- 1:05:12Speaker 10: I would assume that she has, but I got to
- 1:05:14Speaker 10: work with like young Nicole Kidman, young Bobby, young Jen,
- 1:05:17Speaker 10: you know, like all of them.
- 1:05:18Speaker 3: Well, the young Bobby, I think was Bobby's son in
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: real life, right?
- 1:05:21Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:05:22Speaker 10: That's, it's so crazy.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:05:23Speaker 10: He's a good friend now. Uh, Jake, uh, Jake Convo. Yeah.
- 1:05:26Speaker 10: He's a, he's an amazing actor and, um, he's, uh, Yeah.
- 1:05:30Speaker 10: He's like one of my favorite parts of watching it back.
- 1:05:32Speaker 10: Him and Rosie McEwen, who plays the young Nicole Kidman.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: Well, it was a good show. It was a really
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: good show. I was very much into that show. Yeah.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: The ending actually pissed me off because it's a cliffhanger.
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: It's a cliffhanger.
- 1:05:43Speaker 5: Oh, so there has to be a season two.
- 1:05:45Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah. There is a season two. All right, dude.
- 1:05:47Speaker 6: Hey, so Austin, thanks for jumping on there with us.
- 1:05:49Speaker 6: So again, just real quick, let's give out your Instagram.
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: If you want to be an actor or you can
- 1:05:53Speaker 6: participate in the cast or producing or find a location,
- 1:05:58Speaker 6: what's your Instagram?
- 1:06:00Speaker 10: Yes, it's Austin T.
- 1:06:01Speaker 3: McMain.
- 1:06:02Speaker 10: So that's A-U-S-T-I-N-T-M-C-M-A-I-N-S.
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: Okay. Thank you, Austin. Thanks, brother.
- 1:06:11Speaker 6: Yeah, good luck. Why don't you write a scene in
- 1:06:14Speaker 6: there that happens where... The jeweler brings some jewelry to be–
- 1:06:18Speaker 6: brings it in here to talk to us and we help.
- 1:06:20Speaker 10: That would be so iconic, guys. I think we might
- 1:06:23Speaker 10: have to go back to the drawing board for that.
- 1:06:24Speaker 3: I love it.
- 1:06:26Speaker 5: That's really cool that you're doing an Arizona movie, a
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: love letter to Arizona, and you're doing it here too,
- 1:06:32Speaker 5: not shooting it in Georgia. I think that's really cool.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: Yeah, we had to.
- 1:06:38Speaker 10: We found an iconic jewelry store that I can't really
- 1:06:41Speaker 10: name drop yet because we haven't like officiated anything. But
- 1:06:44Speaker 10: a lot of it takes place in this beautiful jewelry
- 1:06:47Speaker 10: store in Scottsdale that.
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: We have in mind.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: So it's going to be a beautiful movie.
- 1:06:51Speaker 10: It's going to showcase Arizona in the right light. And
- 1:06:53Speaker 10: I'm excited for everyone to be involved.
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: Let me know if you need help. I got a
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: friend of mine who owns a jewelry store up there too.
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: Maybe I can help you out with that.
- 1:06:58Speaker 15: Oh, really?
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:00Speaker 10: I'll have to message you about it.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: All right, brother. Take care, man. Thank you, Austin. Jessica,
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: good morning. What's up? You're on the air.
- 1:07:07Speaker 29: Hi, good morning. I was calling about a funny rich story.
- 1:07:10Speaker 17: Okay.
- 1:07:13Speaker 29: So a couple weeks ago, I actually called your show,
- 1:07:16Speaker 29: and I told you the same story, John Jay, but
- 1:07:19Speaker 29: you put me on hold, and then by the time
- 1:07:23Speaker 29: you came back, it had disconnected.
- 1:07:25Speaker 3: Oh, my God. Sorry.
- 1:07:28Speaker 29: No, that's okay. I know that you guys have a
- 1:07:30Speaker 29: lot of.
- 1:07:30Speaker 10: Problems with your phones.
- 1:07:31Speaker 5: We do indeed.
- 1:07:32Speaker 29: What was the rich story? so a while back you
- 1:07:39Speaker 29: guys had did an episode where somebody was talking about
- 1:07:43Speaker 29: that they saw um rich at the gym and then
- 1:07:48Speaker 29: somebody from your show i think they were asking about
- 1:07:52Speaker 29: like oh okay well when you saw him at the
- 1:07:54Speaker 29: gym what like exercise equipment was he using does this
- 1:07:59Speaker 29: sound familiar.
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: Rich at the gym does not sound familiar. But go ahead.
- 1:08:05Speaker 5: Well, I think one of them was Peyton's friends and
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: she said that she just saw me walking around talking
- 1:08:09Speaker 5: to people.
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:08:10Speaker 5: Which does happen a lot.
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: So what is your story?
- 1:08:13Speaker 13: So.
- 1:08:15Speaker 29: What I had called about was like, yeah, instead of
- 1:08:19Speaker 29: him going or instead of him actually using gym equipment,
- 1:08:22Speaker 29: he was just walking around talking to everybody. And that
- 1:08:26Speaker 29: just reminded me, you know, those progressive commercials where they
- 1:08:31Speaker 29: say that you turn into your parents, like this is
- 1:08:33Speaker 29: a sign that you're turning into your parents. I feel
- 1:08:36Speaker 29: like that is totally the typical scenario where you're just
- 1:08:41Speaker 29: going around talking to everybody at the gym, but everyone's like,
- 1:08:45Speaker 29: busy doing stuff. And he's just going around chatting it
- 1:08:48Speaker 29: up with everybody.
- 1:08:50Speaker 5: There's one of those commercials that my wife pointed out.
- 1:08:52Speaker 5: She's like, that's you. And it's when the guy's in
- 1:08:55Speaker 5: the back of an Uber and he's chatting up the
- 1:08:57Speaker 5: Uber driver and becoming friends with the Uber driver. He's like,
- 1:09:00Speaker 5: you're doing a great job.
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: That is totally me. No, you were really good at that.
- 1:09:04Speaker 6: You know, the other day when we were in, we
- 1:09:05Speaker 6: were in Reading and the owner of the radio station
- 1:09:07Speaker 6: picked us up and I always sit in the back
- 1:09:09Speaker 6: seat and Rich is in the front seat. And Rich
- 1:09:12Speaker 6: is just talking away. And I'm just sitting back there.
- 1:09:14Speaker 6: I'm like, thank God that he's here.
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: Thank God. I'm just sitting back there. I have nothing
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: to say.
- 1:09:20Speaker 5: I make friends on the plane.
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: I'm talking the whole way there.
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: I make friends on the plane on the way there,
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: on the way back.
- 1:09:24Speaker 9: Yeah, Rich, you are such a good Uber chatter that you, like,
- 1:09:29Speaker 9: get the same Uber driver on your way back home. Like,
- 1:09:31Speaker 9: you get their number and you don't even go through
- 1:09:32Speaker 9: the app.
- 1:09:33Speaker 3: That's right. You just text them personal. Want to hang out?
- 1:09:36Speaker 5: Want to hit up a taco shop?
- 1:09:37Speaker 9: We'll ask them to pick you up in 30 minutes
- 1:09:39Speaker 9: around the corner.
- 1:09:40Speaker 3: Jessica, thanks for calling in.
- 1:09:42Speaker 29: All right.
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:09:43Speaker 8: Bye.
- 1:09:43Speaker 3: Have a great day.
- 1:09:44Speaker 10: All right.
- 1:09:45Speaker 3: We're going to get some entertainment news. Colin Payton has
- 1:09:47Speaker 3: got stuff on Kylie Jenner, Mr. Beast, Shaq, and more.
- 1:09:50Speaker 3: It's all next. John Jay and Rich.
- 1:09:56Speaker 6: Second date update this morning was pretty crazy. In fact,
- 1:09:58Speaker 6: the text line's blown up. Here's a text about this
- 1:10:00Speaker 6: morning's second date update. I'm going to do a poll
- 1:10:02Speaker 6: at work on second date update. I'll report back. So
- 1:10:05Speaker 6: if you missed second date update, go to our Instagram,
- 1:10:07Speaker 6: John Jane Rich. There's a video posted of this morning's
- 1:10:10Speaker 6: second date update. Just comment the word date. We will
- 1:10:14Speaker 6: send you second date update directly to your phone.
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: Kyle and Peyton, what do you guys got for entertainment news?
- 1:10:18Speaker 17: I don't know about you guys, but my feed is
- 1:10:20Speaker 17: flooded right now with Travis Kelsey, the model.
- 1:10:23Speaker 8: He's the new face of Tommy Hilfiger.
- 1:10:25Speaker 17: But the real headline from this campaign is his dog
- 1:10:29Speaker 17: co-starred in the shoot with him.
- 1:10:31Speaker 9: And this is the.
- 1:10:31Speaker 17: Dog that if you remember, you get to see going
- 1:10:34Speaker 17: on and off the private jet with Taylor and Travis.
- 1:10:36Speaker 8: I'm like, wait a minute. Do they have a new
- 1:10:38Speaker 8: little member of their family? And indeed they do. The
- 1:10:40Speaker 8: name of the dog has not been revealed until now.
- 1:10:43Speaker 9: It's little Wendy. Wendy the Samoyed.
- 1:10:46Speaker 8: I don't know if I'm saying that right, but that's
- 1:10:48Speaker 8: the type of dog. That's that white fluffy dog.
- 1:10:49Speaker 5: It's so adorable.
- 1:10:51Speaker 8: And yes, that's their pooch.
- 1:10:53Speaker 6: My sister, who's a hardcore Swifty, and my sister who
- 1:10:56Speaker 6: works for Mr. Beast, texted me this morning and said Mr.
- 1:10:58Speaker 6: Beast has two of those.
- 1:11:00Speaker 9: How fun!
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: I know, isn't that cute?
- 1:11:02Speaker 17: I'm so glad you brought that up because Mr.
- 1:11:03Speaker 8: Beast is also making headlines as well.
- 1:11:06Speaker 17: Apparently being the biggest YouTuber in the world is not
- 1:11:09Speaker 17: good enough for Mr. Beast because now he's doing two
- 1:11:13Speaker 17: things to add to his, I guess, resume.
- 1:11:16Speaker 8: He's becoming a rapper.
- 1:11:17Speaker 17: He actually has his own verse on Lil Baby's new
- 1:11:19Speaker 17: Dead Fresh remix.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: Richest rapper on the scene, call me Mr.
- 1:11:24Speaker 10: Lean.
- 1:11:24Speaker 9: 30 million pounds of trash, we got the ocean clean.
- 1:11:27Speaker 9: Take a minute, feel the breeze, 20 million trees.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: Video shoot in the hood, all the rent is free.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: And I ain't even done yet, I.
- 1:11:36Speaker 8: Had to call baby.
- 1:11:38Speaker 5: That's like the opposite of mumble rap. He's very enunciative.
- 1:11:41Speaker 17: There you go. He is also adding author to his resume.
- 1:11:45Speaker 17: He's teaming up with legendary author James Patterson on a
- 1:11:48Speaker 17: survivor thriller they're calling The Most Dangerous Games. Um, basically
- 1:11:52Speaker 17: it sounds like basically his YouTube thing in a movie
- 1:11:57Speaker 17: or in a book, which will probably end up becoming
- 1:11:59Speaker 17: a movie. That's probably the next step down the road.
- 1:12:01Speaker 17: So that's very, very, very cool. And of course, adding
- 1:12:04Speaker 17: to his billions of dollars, Kylie Jenner was asked to
- 1:12:07Speaker 17: call out one of her sisters in an interview she
- 1:12:08Speaker 17: did with her kids asking the questions.
- 1:12:10Speaker 8: And I love the fact that she did not hesitate.
- 1:12:13Speaker 9: Who has the worst dance moves in our family?
- 1:12:15Speaker 17: Probably your auntie Kiki or I think she would be
- 1:12:20Speaker 17: okay with me saying that. Auntie Kiki's Kim Kardashian, in
- 1:12:23Speaker 17: case you were not in on the Kardashian lingo. But
- 1:12:26Speaker 17: I mean, we did kind of all see the dancing
- 1:12:28Speaker 17: skills on Dancing with the Stars.
- 1:12:29Speaker 8: So she may be accurate.
- 1:12:31Speaker 17: And like she said, I don't think Kim cares about that.
- 1:12:33Speaker 17: She doesn't claim to be a great dancer.
- 1:12:35Speaker 9: My favorite thing about that whole interview was Kylie's daughter, Stormi.
- 1:12:39Speaker 9: She has all of the personality. She was so sassy
- 1:12:42Speaker 9: with her mom. I was like, oh, yeah, you know her.
- 1:12:45Speaker 9: That's her karma.
- 1:12:46Speaker 8: I love how the kids both yawn and she's like,
- 1:12:48Speaker 8: you guys both yawning?
- 1:12:49Speaker 10: Right.
- 1:12:50Speaker 9: They end up leaving the interview. She's like, my interviewer's left.
- 1:12:53Speaker 8: Are you tired?
- 1:12:54Speaker 9: I really, really love to get that little peek into
- 1:12:56Speaker 9: Kylie's life. The trial of Tupac's murder has officially come
- 1:13:00Speaker 9: to an end and the jury shared the verdict.
- 1:13:04Speaker 7: We, the jury in the both entitled case, find the
- 1:13:06Speaker 7: defendant Dwayne Keith Davis as follows.
- 1:13:08Speaker 22: Count one, murder with use of a deadly weapon.
- 1:13:10Speaker 7: Guilty of first degree murder with use of a deadly
- 1:13:12Speaker 7: weapon dated this 31st day of August 2026.
- 1:13:16Speaker 9: Yep. So officially convicted of first degree murder. And what's
- 1:13:20Speaker 9: kind of crazy about this case is prosecutors actually successfully
- 1:13:23Speaker 9: argued that even though he didn't pull the trigger, he
- 1:13:27Speaker 9: set the whole thing up. And so he's going down
- 1:13:29Speaker 9: for it. He's going down for the fatal ambush.
- 1:13:31Speaker 6: The dude wrote like a book and stuff and said
- 1:13:32Speaker 6: that he did it. And then they're like, you said
- 1:13:34Speaker 6: it in the book. He's like, I was just embellishing.
- 1:13:36Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: Don't do that.
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: Now you're in real trouble.
- 1:13:38Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:13:39Speaker 9: Kadeem and I were actually talking about this last night
- 1:13:41Speaker 9: and I kind of was like, I don't know, like,
- 1:13:42Speaker 9: is he taking the fall for some stuff? I'm like,
- 1:13:44Speaker 9: who knows? Because I was so long ago. But There's
- 1:13:47Speaker 9: still so many conspiracy theories around that. David, the singer
- 1:13:51Speaker 9: who killed his 14-year-old girlfriend, Celeste Revis, and found her
- 1:13:55Speaker 9: body in an abandoned Tesla. His high-profile private defense attorneys
- 1:13:59Speaker 9: have officially withdrawn from his first-degree murder case. So during
- 1:14:03Speaker 9: a hearing yesterday, the court actually determined that he qualified
- 1:14:07Speaker 9: for court-appointed counsel, handing over his entire defense to the L.A.
- 1:14:11Speaker 9: County Public Defender's Office.
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: Oh, so his lawyers are like, hey, we're going to.
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14:14Speaker 9: They're like, I'm out of here. So either he ran
- 1:14:16Speaker 9: out of money, which I think is probably a high
- 1:14:20Speaker 9: probability of that. And so running out of money and
- 1:14:22Speaker 9: then also probably the fact that he is guilty.
- 1:14:25Speaker 8: And he did put in his official plea as not guilty.
- 1:14:27Speaker 8: So yeah, that should be interesting.
- 1:14:29Speaker 9: We should see. Billie Eilish, she took over like the
- 1:14:32Speaker 9: ultimate family duty over the weekend. Her brother, Phineas, got
- 1:14:36Speaker 9: married to his longtime girlfriend, Claudia. They were surrounded by
- 1:14:39Speaker 9: a close family and she officiated and she looked absolutely stunning.
- 1:14:43Speaker 9: She is in this like olive green dress and her
- 1:14:46Speaker 9: waist is snatched. She looked absolutely stunning.
- 1:14:50Speaker 8: I love that he picked his sister to do that.
- 1:14:52Speaker 9: Me too, especially because, you know, they are so close
- 1:14:54Speaker 9: and they are a little duo and they just do
- 1:14:56Speaker 9: everything together. So congratulations to Phineas.
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: That was where the pictures of Justin and Hailey went viral.
- 1:15:02Speaker 3: It looked like they were in a fight, but they
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: really weren't.
- 1:15:04Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:15:04Speaker 3: They were just standing there.
- 1:15:05Speaker 9: They were just there hanging out.
- 1:15:06Speaker 6: We got tickets to Gold Rush Music Festival on the
- 1:15:08Speaker 6: line right now. Martin Garretts, Dead Mile, and DJ Pauly
- 1:15:11Speaker 6: D and more will be there.
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: You could be there, too. You have to win Beach Sazam.
- 1:15:16Speaker 10: 877-937-1047.
- 1:15:16Speaker 6: We'll do it after Doja Cat. Alexis, good morning. You
- 1:15:31Speaker 6: are our contestant for Beat Shazam.
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: How are you?
- 1:15:34Speaker 29: I'm doing great.
- 1:15:37Speaker 9: How are you guys?
- 1:15:37Speaker 6: All right, we're going to play Beat Shazam. We're going
- 1:15:39Speaker 6: to win some tickets to Gold Rush, see Deadmau5, Martin Garrix. Oh,
- 1:15:44Speaker 6: I hear another little contestant there.
- 1:15:46Speaker 20: That's my little helper.
- 1:15:50Speaker 3: Okay, let's play, Nick. Alexis, ooh, David. Come on, guys.
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: Nobody?
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: Nobody? Okay.
- 1:15:56Speaker 16: We're playing Beach Shazam today, you guys. It is officially September,
- 1:16:01Speaker 16: and that means the iHeartRadio Music Festival is this month,
- 1:16:05Speaker 16: and I have chosen artists from said festival. If you
- 1:16:08Speaker 16: can give me the title and the artist of said song,
- 1:16:12Speaker 16: you will get two points. If you get one or
- 1:16:14Speaker 16: the other, you get one point. You get seven seconds
- 1:16:16Speaker 16: to do it. We're going to start with John Jay.
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: Snoop Dogg, Drop.
- 1:16:19Speaker 3: It Like It's Hot.
- 1:16:20Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:16:22Speaker 16: Easy two points with John Jay. You know anybody on
- 1:16:24Speaker 16: that song as well?
- 1:16:27Speaker 3: Somebody else, like a feature? Yeah. Pharrell.
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: Who?
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: Oh, Pharrell? Oh, yeah. There you go, Alexis.
- 1:16:36Speaker 5: There you go.
- 1:16:37Speaker 9: Stealing a point.
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: Didn't even need to try.
- 1:16:39Speaker 20: Good job.
- 1:16:41Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:16:42Speaker 16: John Jay, two points.
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: Rich?
- 1:16:46Speaker 5: Mystical, magical. That'd be Benson Boone.
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:16:49Speaker 16: That's dose points for Rich.
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: Good job.
- 1:16:52Speaker 16: You guys are nailing this.
- 1:16:56Speaker 10: Peyton.
- 1:16:57Speaker 9: What's his name?
- 1:17:00Speaker 13: Bad Bunny.
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: Bad Bunny?
- 1:17:07Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:17:08Speaker 5: I like it.
- 1:17:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:17:09Speaker 16: You got the two points. We were looking for J Balvin,
- 1:17:11Speaker 16: which was the feature on that. But you can catch
- 1:17:14Speaker 16: Cardi B at the iHeartRadio Music Festival. Kyle.
- 1:17:20Speaker 5: Plus Snoop Dogg.
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: And the song?
- 1:17:27Speaker 5: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:17:27Speaker 15: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:17:28Speaker 8: The song is D-O-double-G.
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: D-O-double-G. That's it.
- 1:17:31Speaker 16: You did spell his name.
- 1:17:32Speaker 3: That's good.
- 1:17:33Speaker 16: We were looking for Gin and Juice.
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: Gin and Juice.
- 1:17:35Speaker 16: Rolling down the street. All right, so heading to Alexis,
- 1:17:39Speaker 16: who already has one point.
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: Here we go.
- 1:17:41Speaker 9: Oh, my.
- 1:17:45Speaker 23: Goodness.
- 1:17:51Speaker 14: Is that? I'm terrible.
- 1:17:54Speaker 20: Is it Zara Larson?
- 1:17:55Speaker 5: Zara Larson.
- 1:17:56Speaker 16: We were looking for BTS. Dynamite.
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: Yeah, Dynamite is the name of that song.
- 1:18:01Speaker 16: That was a nice try.
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: The lineup for this festival is incredible, you guys. I just,
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: going through it today, I was like, my goodness.
- 1:18:07Speaker 8: I know, it's insane.
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: I like how Alexis got Pharrell.
- 1:18:10Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: But doesn't get the biggest band in the world.
- 1:18:13Speaker 5: I just started having kids.
- 1:18:14Speaker 14: No, it's okay.
- 1:18:15Speaker 11: It's okay.
- 1:18:15Speaker 3: I kind of get it.
- 1:18:17Speaker 20: All right.
- 1:18:18Speaker 16: So after one round, John Jay, Rich, and Peyton all
- 1:18:20Speaker 16: have two points. Kyle and Alexis each have one. Round
- 1:18:24Speaker 16: two starts with John Jay.
- 1:18:25Speaker 9: Zara Larson.
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: And it's that one song.
- 1:18:32Speaker 10: Uh-huh.
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: It's called the Midnight Blue.
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: Wait.
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: Yeah. We're close.
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: Alexis.
- 1:18:39Speaker 27: Midnight Sun.
- 1:18:40Speaker 16: Midnight Sun. All right.
- 1:18:42Speaker 3: Good job, Alexis.
- 1:18:44Speaker 16: All right. John Jay take a commanding lead with three points.
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: Rich.
- 1:18:49Speaker 5: That's the Goo Goo Dolls. The song I was.
- 1:18:56Speaker 20: Yep.
- 1:18:56Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:18:57Speaker 5: From the movie where Meg Ryan gets hit by a
- 1:18:59Speaker 5: lumber truck.
- 1:19:00Speaker 16: City of Angels.
- 1:19:01Speaker 3: That's right. City of Angels, the name of that movie.
- 1:19:03Speaker 3: Good job, Rich.
- 1:19:04Speaker 16: Four points for Rich in today's game.
- 1:19:06Speaker 25: Peyton.
- 1:19:08Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:19:13Speaker 16: Tying up Rich Berra. Peyton with two points. Now four points.
- 1:19:20Speaker 3: Kyle.
- 1:19:21Speaker 9: I don't want.
- 1:19:25Speaker 17: To say it because I really like the song, but
- 1:19:26Speaker 17: that's Sierra One Two Step.
- 1:19:27Speaker 13: Wow.
- 1:19:27Speaker 10: All right.
- 1:19:28Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:19:29Speaker 3: Good job.
- 1:19:30Speaker 16: Do you know who's in that song as well?
- 1:19:33Speaker 9: I don't.
- 1:19:34Speaker 3: Pharrell?
- 1:19:34Speaker 10: Missy?
- 1:19:35Speaker 16: Missy Misdemeanor Elliott.
- 1:19:38Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:19:39Speaker 16: Alexis, if you can get this, we'll give you five
- 1:19:42Speaker 16: points and you get to go to the Gold Rush
- 1:19:44Speaker 16: Music Festival.
- 1:19:46Speaker 8: I'm up and I'm thinking I just might lose it all.
- 1:19:55Speaker 13: Oh, no.
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 1:19:58Speaker 16: Unless it's a Pharrell question, she's not going to get
- 1:20:00Speaker 16: it right.
- 1:20:01Speaker 9: Everybody in the room, who is it?
- 1:20:02Speaker 27: Give me a Snoop Dogg question.
- 1:20:04Speaker 3: Benson Boone.
- 1:20:05Speaker 9: Benson Boone.
- 1:20:07Speaker 16: Benson Boone.
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: It's Benson Boone.
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: Did you go see Snoop Dogg when he was here?
- 1:20:12Speaker 3: I think it was Friday night.
- 1:20:14Speaker 27: I didn't, but I know the husband and lawyer team,
- 1:20:17Speaker 27: the husband and wife team did.
- 1:20:18Speaker 3: Yeah, they were out there. We were talking about that yesterday.
- 1:20:21Speaker 3: That dude knew every word and every song. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:20:25Speaker 9: Everywhere.
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: I love it.
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: Alexis, thanks for listening. We are going to set you
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: up with those tickets so you can see Martin Garrix, Deadmau5,
- 1:20:32Speaker 3: and DJ Pauly a lot more. Thank you for listening.
- 1:20:35Speaker 11: Thank you, guys.
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: Love it.
- 1:20:36Speaker 19: Have a good day.
- 1:20:38Speaker 3: Hold on the line. Kyle, what's coming up with three
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: things we need to know?
- 1:20:41Speaker 17: One of the biggest names in tech is stepping aside today,
- 1:20:45Speaker 17: and whoever takes their place has a real problem ahead
- 1:20:48Speaker 17: of them.
- 1:20:48Speaker 8: I'll explain next with John Jay Rich.
- 1:20:50Speaker 16: We want to hear your voice on the John Jay
- 1:20:52Speaker 16: and Rich Show.
- 1:20:53Speaker 23: Send us a top back from the red microphone button
- 1:20:55Speaker 23: on the free iHeartRadio app.
- 1:20:56Speaker 16: Your voice message will come right to us in the studio.
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: And we'll take it from there.
- 1:21:01Speaker 3: Kyle, unfug with three things we need to know.
- 1:21:04Speaker 17: The Grand Canyon flash flood update is pretty devastating. Officials
- 1:21:07Speaker 17: are now saying two people have died and one person
- 1:21:10Speaker 17: remains missing after the flooding in Bright Angel Canyon. Rescuers
- 1:21:13Speaker 17: have narrowed the missing person count significantly further. I think
- 1:21:17Speaker 17: they're really just looking for one more person. They rescued,
- 1:21:19Speaker 17: I think, over 80, which is pretty great. But obviously,
- 1:21:23Speaker 17: there's still someone missing and two people have passed away.
- 1:21:26Speaker 17: So definitely thoughts and prayers and a big thank you
- 1:21:28Speaker 17: to our first responders. There is a huge change of
- 1:21:32Speaker 17: the guard moment coming to Apple. After 15 years of
- 1:21:36Speaker 17: running Apple, Tim Cook– He's going to hand the CEO
- 1:21:40Speaker 17: job to longtime hardware boss John Ternes today.
- 1:21:43Speaker 9: Uh-oh.
- 1:21:44Speaker 17: John Ternes has taken on a big job. Cook's going
- 1:21:47Speaker 17: to stay on as like an executive chairman.
- 1:21:49Speaker 8: But this guy.
- 1:21:50Speaker 17: This John guy is inheriting some major problems, one of
- 1:21:53Speaker 17: Apple's biggest problems, and that's catching up on AI. Now,
- 1:21:57Speaker 17: his first iPhone event is already set for September 9th,
- 1:22:00Speaker 17: which is right around the corner with a foldable iPhone
- 1:22:02Speaker 17: potentially coming because they've teamed with Samsung for that. But
- 1:22:06Speaker 17: this is a very huge job, and Apple is right
- 1:22:09Speaker 17: in the middle of that big lawsuit with OpenAI. So
- 1:22:13Speaker 17: it's like, here's the keys to the car. But just
- 1:22:16Speaker 17: so you know, the brakes don't work at this point.
- 1:22:19Speaker 5: It's not the same since Steve Jobs left. I'm telling you.
- 1:22:22Speaker 8: Yeah, it really is.
- 1:22:23Speaker 5: Or I mean, passed away, I should say.
- 1:22:24Speaker 8: Should be interesting to see what happens September 9th.
- 1:22:26Speaker 17: I know a lot of people looking forward to seeing
- 1:22:28Speaker 17: what the new stuff Apple has on tap for them.
- 1:22:31Speaker 17: The jury in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial told a
- 1:22:33Speaker 17: judge this morning they can't reach a unanimous verdict.
- 1:22:36Speaker 8: They're having a real problem.
- 1:22:37Speaker 17: They've deliberated for about 17 hours over four days. And
- 1:22:41Speaker 17: the judge was like, listen, you got to get back
- 1:22:44Speaker 17: in the room. You got to keep deliberating. So Clancy
- 1:22:47Speaker 17: admitted to killing her three young kids in 2023. But
- 1:22:49Speaker 17: her defense is arguing she was suffering from postpartum psychosis
- 1:22:53Speaker 17: and was not criminally responsible. There are, I think, five
- 1:22:56Speaker 17: different verdicts that the jury could come to, but right now,
- 1:23:00Speaker 17: they're all just disagreeing all over the place, and if
- 1:23:02Speaker 17: that is their end verdict, that would be like a
- 1:23:05Speaker 17: hung jury, and then they.
- 1:23:05Speaker 8: Would have to retry the whole case, which would be
- 1:23:07Speaker 8: a total disaster.
- 1:23:09Speaker 17: The Diamondbacks lost to the Phillies last night, which is
- 1:23:11Speaker 17: exactly what we didn't want, especially because San Diego won,
- 1:23:13Speaker 17: which means.
- 1:23:14Speaker 8: We did have.
- 1:23:15Speaker 17: That playoff spot, and now San Diego has the playoff spot,
- 1:23:18Speaker 17: but there's still plenty of games left, and it is
- 1:23:20Speaker 17: going to be a back-and-forth fighting tooth and nail. We
- 1:23:24Speaker 17: just have to cross our fingers. We play the Phillies
- 1:23:26Speaker 17: again tonight. The Padres play the— Cincinnati Reds again tonight
- 1:23:32Speaker 17: and if they lose it we win then we take
- 1:23:33Speaker 17: it back and it's a back and forth thing I
- 1:23:35Speaker 17: like literally every game counts right now to the D-backs
- 1:23:38Speaker 17: I kind of feel like maybe the vibes were off
- 1:23:41Speaker 17: because I don't know if you saw Quetel Marteo is
- 1:23:43Speaker 17: back he did apologize to his teammates for the failed
- 1:23:47Speaker 17: not communicating by not just like literally not showing up
- 1:23:50Speaker 17: in Boston the fans weren't having it when he walked
- 1:23:52Speaker 17: out onto the field people were.
- 1:23:53Speaker 8: Just booing like it was just booze Yeah.
- 1:23:56Speaker 17: So I feel like the vibes were off last night.
- 1:23:58Speaker 17: Maybe everyone can put it past them and we can
- 1:24:00Speaker 17: win tonight and then move on and get that wildcard
- 1:24:03Speaker 17: playoff spot.
- 1:24:03Speaker 8: I mean, what a Cinderella story. That would be so great.
- 1:24:05Speaker 5: Winning fixes a lot, doesn't it?
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:24:07Speaker 8: This is actually really cool. I'm very excited for the
- 1:24:10Speaker 8: East Valley.
- 1:24:10Speaker 17: Cannon Beach and Mesa is officially launching their new monthly
- 1:24:14Speaker 17: First Friday. It goes down this Friday, the first Friday
- 1:24:17Speaker 17: of September. They're going to have live music, DJs, vendors,
- 1:24:20Speaker 17: a bunch of family stuff. And a separate car show. Now,
- 1:24:22Speaker 17: you may recognize First Friday and you're like, hey, that's
- 1:24:24Speaker 17: Roosevelt Row's thing.
- 1:24:25Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:24:25Speaker 17: Well, they're intentionally making this a more family-friendly version of
- 1:24:30Speaker 17: First Friday. So now the East Valley has their own
- 1:24:32Speaker 17: First Friday to go to and it's a little different vibes.
- 1:24:35Speaker 9: Well, also, too, Phoenix and Roosevelt Row had to shut
- 1:24:38Speaker 9: down First Fridays for a little bit because of some
- 1:24:40Speaker 9: of the things that were going on and going down
- 1:24:42Speaker 9: and it wasn't necessarily the most... safe or fun environment.
- 1:24:45Speaker 5: Like fist Fridays.
- 1:24:46Speaker 9: Like, yeah, it was like not good energy.
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: On Roosevelt Road. Are you talking about Cannon Beach, like
- 1:24:51Speaker 3: the surf park?
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Yep.
- 1:24:53Speaker 3: So it's new.
- 1:24:54Speaker 8: So first Fridays, they're going.
- 1:24:55Speaker 17: To do this big thing where they make it like
- 1:24:56Speaker 17: a family fun party.
- 1:24:58Speaker 5: All the stuff around it.
- 1:24:59Speaker 9: That's cool.
- 1:24:59Speaker 3: I do want to go to a surf fair. Okay,
- 1:25:00Speaker 3: because I haven't been. It's next to Vertuccio Farms. Yeah.
- 1:25:03Speaker 6: And I remember when they were, I know it's been open,
- 1:25:06Speaker 6: but I felt like there was no fanfare behind it
- 1:25:08Speaker 6: because I wanted to go to it because it's a
- 1:25:09Speaker 6: surf park.
- 1:25:09Speaker 14: Fanfare, yeah.
- 1:25:10Speaker 6: But I don't understand, like, when you go to First
- 1:25:11Speaker 6: Friday downtown, it's downtown. It's like you go anywhere, you
- 1:25:14Speaker 6: park anywhere, you can walk there.
- 1:25:15Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:25:15Speaker 3: Cannon Beach, you got to pull up and park.
- 1:25:17Speaker 5: Yeah, but it's like a city block worth of stuff
- 1:25:20Speaker 5: to walk around.
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: It's big.
- 1:25:21Speaker 9: Like a farmer's market kind of vibe where there's a whole.
- 1:25:24Speaker 3: Bunch of businesses and vendors and good vibes.
- 1:25:25Speaker 9: Rock on.
- 1:25:26Speaker 8: So it should be pretty cool.
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: I would like to do a schwanding there if they
- 1:25:29Speaker 3: shut down the park for us. That would be epic.
- 1:25:31Speaker 3: I love surfing. You guys know I was on the
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: surf team? I was on the surf team in high school.
- 1:25:35Speaker 10: Really?
- 1:25:35Speaker 5: How'd you guys do?
- 1:25:37Speaker 3: All right. We did all right.
- 1:25:38Speaker 9: Rich is like really loving that his knee is all blown.
- 1:25:41Speaker 8: Out right now.
- 1:25:44Speaker 5: You guys got like three fun things happening today that
- 1:25:47Speaker 5: all involved your left foot.
- 1:25:51Speaker 8: FOMO Rich.
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: Sorry. Totally.
- 1:25:52Speaker 8: And that's what you need to know.
