- 0:20Hello and welcome to episode 77 of the All Systems Go sports
- 0:26Betting podcast powered by Rhythm.
- 0:29I'm your host, Josh Applebaum. What's going on, everyone?
- 0:36Happy Tuesday. Another day here in the arena,
- 0:38guys. Gamblers Vacation continues.
- 0:41The slowest week of the year when it comes to betting on
- 0:43sports. But luckily today we have a
- 0:45little bit more action than yesterday.
- 0:47We do have a loaded WNBA slate and I have two WNBA bets here
- 0:52for it today, guys. Both of which are market moves
- 0:54combined with some great rhythm edges with some AI back models
- 0:58and community models. I'm really hoping to help help
- 1:01us cash some tickets here in the WNBA.
- 1:03I love when the market's moving in the same direction as my
- 1:06rhythm system matches. But then also I buried the lead.
- 1:09We got more baseball tonight, the Midsummer Classic, the MLB
- 1:13All Star game, the NL versus the AL, and we have a very short
- 1:17number American League around -120 the total 7 1/2.
- 1:20But I'm going to give you guys some interesting stats, both in
- 1:23terms of historically what we've seen, because there's one
- 1:26situation where do you guys know AL versus NL?
- 1:29One has dominated the other for going on 20 years or more.
- 1:32And then when it comes to the total, is it the over?
- 1:35Is it the under? We've seen a huge edge toward
- 1:38One Direction there over the other.
- 1:40So we're going to hit on it all on episode 77 of the All Systems
- 1:43Go Pod powered by rhythm, A three pack of sweats.
- 1:46I got two WNBA bats as well as a Major League Baseball bet a play
- 1:50on the All Star game for tonight.
- 1:52Now looking back to her last night did not go our way.
- 1:55Took the over 270 1/2 homers last night and did not even come
- 2:00close. 225 was the final count so I think the odds makers may
- 2:05have said it too high. Obviously I owe you guys a beer
- 2:08because I completely botched that one.
- 2:11But I think looking back on it, I made a mistake by not paying
- 2:13attention or quite enough attention to the rules.
- 2:16Because the rules really had a big impact here in terms of the
- 2:19timing, how much time you have per round, as well as didn't
- 2:23have any swing offs. And then we had a couple guys
- 2:25who just didn't really do anything.
- 2:27I mean Pete Alonzo was the favorite.
- 2:29I think he hit eleven home runs in round one and got eliminated
- 2:32or maybe he had 12. Then Gunner Henderson, who was a
- 2:35kind of a Co favorite, only had 11 and really didn't have any
- 2:38guys go above 20 home runs per round.
- 2:40So really did not pan out the way I expected, but hey, we took
- 2:45a shot, didn't go our way. But again, I'll, I'll, I'll take
- 2:48the blame for that one because when you when you bet an over
- 2:51270 half and Lance 225, that tells me that not only do we
- 2:55pick the wrong side, but got no luck.
- 2:57And, and really, I think the oddsmakers probably set that
- 3:00thing way too high. There's a situation, I want to
- 3:02say I feel like it was a few years ago.
- 3:04Was it the WNBA All Star game or the NBA All Star game where the
- 3:08total was set like 50 points off the opener and it fell a ton.
- 3:12I forgot which game that was. You might you might recall the
- 3:14one I'm talking about. But anyway, This is why these
- 3:16things can be tricky. And again, one thing we did
- 3:19mention yesterday came through. Remember, he said, hey, let's
- 3:21not even bet on who's going to win because it's a crapshoot and
- 3:23you never know who's going to win.
- 3:24Well, the Oscar Hernandez won, I want to say he was plus 1200 or
- 3:27so. So if you play at Hernandez
- 3:29again, all the power to you. That was a great hit.
- 3:32But either way, guys took a shot last night, swung and missed.
- 3:35Let's see if we can get it back here for today.
- 3:37So I want to start with some WNBA and why am I starting with
- 3:40WNBA over the All Star game? Because one of these games that
- 3:43I have a play on is an afternoon sweat.
- 3:45So I want to mention this first, get the pot out quick.
- 3:47So if you guys want to follow and tail, you have the ability
- 3:50to and the timing too. So I'm going to look at a 3:30
- 3:53PM Eastern Time game. Afternoon sweat here.
- 3:56Don't get many of these in WNBA. The Storm visiting the Sparks.
- 4:00The Sparks, as we like to say in Boston, there's a new Duncan
- 4:03drink called the sparked energy drink.
- 4:05Anyway, Storm come in 16 and eight.
- 4:08They've been one of the better teams in WNBA this year versus
- 4:11the Sparks, who've had a bad season 6 and 17.
- 4:14Cameron Brink got hurt. They did, however, win their
- 4:17last game to beat Dallas 87 to 81.
- 4:20But you have the Storm coming in having one, three or four.
- 4:23You have the Sparks coming in, having lost three of their last
- 4:26five. Now looking at the spread here,
- 4:28looking at the side Lions move to the Storm, you would probably
- 4:32expect this. They're the far better team.
- 4:34They open -9 some shops are closer to -10 here.
- 4:37But I want to focus on the total because couple things jumped out
- 4:40to me with a total. First thing that jumped out to
- 4:42me as that is that it went up. It opened at 160 1/2.
- 4:47Now it's up to 162 1/2. So right off the bat we see this
- 4:50line creep up. You may even find a book at 162.
- 4:53Even better if you can play the over 162.
- 4:56But the most widely available number here is 162 1/2.
- 4:59Anyway, right off the bat the total went up again, WNBA niche
- 5:03market, not even close to the NFL market or some of these
- 5:06bigger sports here. So it tells me right off the bat
- 5:09that the bigger sharper wagers took the over went to the
- 5:12DraftKings bet splits saw 64% of bets but 72% of money on the
- 5:18over. So that's a pretty good bet
- 5:19split. Low bets, higher dollars, only
- 5:22about 2/3 of the tickets, but nearly three out of $4.00
- 5:24telling us the bigger sharper wagers going over here.
- 5:28Then look at some angles here that might hopefully lead us to
- 5:31a higher scoring game. The last time these teams
- 5:33played, they only played one game.
- 5:34Previously it was a 95 to 79 game, landed 174.
- 5:39So hopefully they have more offense here for today.
- 5:41Then digging into the Storm, they're #3 in the WNBA in points
- 5:45per game, 84.1. They're #2 in terms of pace,
- 5:49Pace is always good. Get up and down the court,
- 5:51you're fast. More possessions, more
- 5:52opportunities to score. The Storm are also #2 in terms
- 5:55of free throw percentage. So get to the line, make your
- 5:58free throws, 83.4%. Meanwhile, the Sparks, who are a
- 6:02big dog tonight, nearly a double digit dog, they're giving up the
- 6:05fourth most points in the WNBA, 85.2 points per game.
- 6:09Now mention the Sparks as a home dog getting, you know, 9 or 10
- 6:12points here. I kind of like that if you're
- 6:14going to play an over, at least the home team is the dog.
- 6:16When the road team is the dog, you're down by 20.
- 6:19You kind of pack it in and just want to get out of there.
- 6:22At home. If you're a dog, typically you
- 6:23fight to the end. You want at least, you know,
- 6:26make your home crowd cheer a little bit and maybe not make
- 6:29the score look as bad. So I do lean with over as a home
- 6:32dog over a road dog. But now is where it gets pretty
- 6:35good. We mentioned some some factors
- 6:37here, hopefully leading to a lot of points markets rising good
- 6:40bets split to the over. But here's what I really like
- 6:43one betting system match I hear is have here is called the overs
- 6:46that rise. So if the total rises at least a
- 6:49point take the over it's 34 and 22 this year, 61% with a 17%
- 6:55ROI. Then we get into our Rhythm AI
- 6:58backed models, my Rhythm, my personal Rhythm model, my Josh
- 7:03Rhythm model, which again, beauty rhythm is you can just do
- 7:05no work and follow the recommended models from Rhythm
- 7:08or you can create your own, which is kind of fun, but I
- 7:11created my own in my Josh Rhythm model, A is a predicted final
- 7:15score of 170.5 and my Rhythm AI model or not mine, it's from the
- 7:20team at Rhythm is 170.2. So both my model and the Rhythm
- 7:24model are predicting around a 170, which is good because we're
- 7:28going over 162 1/2. So we created an edge there.
- 7:31Also the community model which is basically pulling all the
- 7:34different people who have a rhythm account, they have a
- 7:38created a total model and it matches on this game.
- 7:40Is it going over under? Well, 95.1% of models are going
- 7:44over here. So I love the fact that we're
- 7:47seeing this line rise with the betting market move, good
- 7:50percentage split. We have a betting system match.
- 7:52We have rhythm AI backed predictions telling us to go
- 7:55over and we have a lot of community models also betting
- 7:57the over. So I'm going to sweat it over
- 7:59here. Maybe maybe get lucky and get an
- 8:01afternoon winner. That'll be nice to start our day
- 8:03with the winner. I'm going to go storm Sparks.
- 8:06Sparks over 162 1/2. You might be able to find a 162.
- 8:12Next one for you is a late game 10:00 PM Eastern Time Chicago
- 8:16Sky and the Las Vegas Aces. Now going into this one, we have
- 8:20the sky 9 and 14 Story of the Sky obviously is seeing what
- 8:25Angel Reese has been doing. I think her streak finally ended
- 8:28our double digit or her double double streak was at 1516.
- 8:32But she's actually, you know, competing in rookie of the year,
- 8:35although it looks like Caitlin Clark is going to win that
- 8:37thing. But Reese is making it
- 8:38interesting. Anyway, the Las Vegas Aces, they
- 8:41struggle to start the year. They're now playing great.
- 8:44They're sixteen and seven looking to to defend their
- 8:46title. They've won four straight.
- 8:48Sky have lost three of their last four.
- 8:50So what are we seeing across the market here?
- 8:53Well, in terms of the spread, the line is dipped a little bit
- 8:55away from the Aces toward the sky.
- 8:56The Aces opened as high as a 14 point favorite, 14 1/2.
- 9:01Now it's down to 13 1/2 or 13. So it looks like there was a
- 9:04bite at the apple with the sky in the points.
- 9:06But once again, I want to lean on my market analysis along with
- 9:10my a really good rhythm projection.
- 9:12So I'm going to go again. If an ain't broke, don't fix it.
- 9:15I'm going to go right back to another over so late night over
- 9:18sweat for you guys. First off, similar to the Storm
- 9:21Sparks game, this total is on the rise.
- 9:23It opened at around 169 1/2 or 170.
- 9:26Now you're seeing it up to 172 1/2.
- 9:29Some books are even 173. So if you're going to play this
- 9:31over, try to shop around and get that over 172 1/2 because as we
- 9:35know, we cashed an over. What was it last week that
- 9:38cashed only by 1/2 point? So these numbers are important,
- 9:42but what I really like about this total that's rising is it's
- 9:45fishy and it's got a great bet split with a bunch of good
- 9:47rhythm models. So why is it fishy?
- 9:50Well, it's fishy because the aces have gone under this number
- 9:53in three straight 897784708479. I mean, they're kind of going
- 10:00over under this number pretty easily.
- 10:02So you would think a 172 and a half 173 might as well go under,
- 10:06right? But no, it opened lower and it's
- 10:08risen. So maybe we're expecting more
- 10:10points in this one. Also, the bet split, only 41% of
- 10:14bets are going over in this one, but it takes into account 68% of
- 10:18the money. So that is what we call a
- 10:20contrarian over. Public tends to love betting
- 10:23overs because it's just fun to root for points.
- 10:25People want action. They don't want, you know, shot
- 10:27clock violations and bricks. However, even though you're
- 10:31getting, let's slip it the other way, 59% of bets are on the
- 10:34under if the total rose. So why is the total going up if
- 10:37the public's leaning under while contrarian overplay here again,
- 10:4141% bet, 68% money, a sharp contrarian great bet split
- 10:45there. A + 27% discrepancy would match
- 10:49the same system we just talked about.
- 10:50Overs that rise, 61% this season, 17% ROI.
- 10:55Now let's tack on our rhythm AI model.
- 10:59Our rhythm projection prediction here is 175.9.
- 11:04So we're going over 172 and a half, 173 rhythms got nearly a
- 11:08176 and my personal model is 178.6.
- 11:13So mines even higher here. I put a lot of stock in a pace
- 11:16in three-point in free throw shooting.
- 11:19So the fact that we have both rhythm models in the high one
- 11:2170s and we're getting kind of an over low 170 good, good angle
- 11:26there to take the over. Now the rhythm community models,
- 11:2961% of those are on the over. So it's not quite the 95% like
- 11:33the storm over, but still majority of sharp rhythm models
- 11:36are going over. Now the last time these teams
- 11:39played the Aces 195 to 83, that was a 178 final score.
- 11:43So hopefully you get more of that tonight.
- 11:45Both teams are pretty well rested.
- 11:47Sky haven't played since the 13th, Aces haven't played since
- 11:50the 14th. So if we got your legs tonight
- 11:53and making your shots, and then also really the Aces, they're
- 11:56fun to watch. This one tonight is on Prime
- 11:59Video, by the way. But the Aces are #1 in field
- 12:01goal percentage in the WNBA, 45.3%, their number one in free
- 12:06throw percentage, 84%, and their number one in points per game,
- 12:1088.9. So nearly 90 points per game.
- 12:14So again, it's fishy because the Aces have gone under this number
- 12:17in three straight. Yet this is rising contrarian
- 12:19over great rhythm, projected or predicted models, as well as a
- 12:24good rest opportunity with some good offense here from the Aces.
- 12:28So add it all up here, guys. I'm rooting for points once
- 12:31again. It's my second total of the day.
- 12:33I'm going to go sky Aces. Try to go over 172 1/2.
- 12:37If you can ideally shop around, get that 172 1/2 again, some
- 12:41books are at 173, so storm sparks over one 62162 1/2.
- 12:47Aces over 172 1/2 ideally or 173 now bearing the lead, but I
- 12:53wanted to talk to WNBA early because we do have an early game
- 12:56here for today. Now let's go to the All Star
- 12:59game. That's right, we're looking at
- 13:01the Midsummer classic American League versus the National
- 13:04League. Now couple things to keep in
- 13:06mind here. One, let's start with the side.
- 13:10If you didn't know the starting pitchers tonight, Paul Skeens
- 13:12set six and O 1.9 O ERA will be opposed by Corbin Burns, nine
- 13:17and four, 2.43 ERA. But starting with the side, I
- 13:21have a lean on the side. I didn't play it, but my lean
- 13:23would be the American League. Why?
- 13:25Couple things. One, the line has moved a little
- 13:27bit toward the American League. The American League open as a
- 13:29very short -115 home favorite. This game will be played, if you
- 13:34didn't watch it last night at the Texas Rangers Stadium in
- 13:37Arlington, TX. But the American League has seen
- 13:40some line movement. They open -115 they're up to
- 13:42-120 I see a couple shops maybe going to -125 S Lions going to
- 13:46the AL. They also have a really good bet
- 13:49split. Only 43% bets, but 46% money.
- 13:52So the public's actually saying, hey, we got two really good
- 13:55teams, might as well take, you know, plus one O 5 with the NL
- 13:58yet the Lions going further toward the American League.
- 14:00And here's where it gets interesting.
- 14:02Overall this is the 94th Midsummer classic.
- 14:05The American League holds a overall edge of 47 and 44 with
- 14:10that one tie which was the Bud sealigy.
- 14:12I remember I was in high school here at my buddy's house at his
- 14:15grand grandfather's house. He made us a bunch of pasta and
- 14:18we watched the All Star game together.
- 14:19I believe that was on Tori Hunter robbed Barry Bonds and
- 14:23Selig called the the tie if I'm correct.
- 14:25My memory serves me correct. Anyway.
- 14:29Overall American League slight lead, but over the last 10 All
- 14:32Star games, the American League is 9 and one.
- 14:34They were nine and O in the National League finally won a
- 14:37game last year. But if you go back since 1997,
- 14:41the American League is 21 four and one in the All Star game.
- 14:45So the American League dominates this game.
- 14:47Lions going to the American League.
- 14:49They're a contrarian bet split with a reverse line move.
- 14:51I lead American League here, but what I'm really going to do and
- 14:54root for is the under. Give me the under 7 1/2, guys.
- 14:58Now this total open at 8. Immediately got back bet down to
- 15:01seven and a half. And now all these seven and a
- 15:03halfs look like they may be getting down to seven because a
- 15:05lot of these seven and a halfs are 7 1/2 under -120 I see a
- 15:09couple books that are down to seven.
- 15:11Obviously, this half run is critical because if you're going
- 15:14to play the under, you know, four to three-game, five to two
- 15:17game, you got to get the hook so you can cash that under.
- 15:19So shop around, make sure you get under 7 1/2.
- 15:21You're probably going to pay -120 -, 125 with the juice.
- 15:26I got under 7 1/2 at -120 I like the bet split to the under.
- 15:30Only 49% bets but 66% money, so pretty good sharp contrarian bet
- 15:35split and the under four and O the last four All Star games,
- 15:39final scores three to two, three to two, 5:00 to 2:00 and 4:00 to
- 15:423:00. And then over the last 17 All
- 15:45Star games, the under is 14-1 and two.
- 15:49So this has been a great trend here to the under.
- 15:51You got to ask yourself, why are the unders cashing?
- 15:53To me, my answer would be the pitching.
- 15:56The old adage, good pitching beats good hitting.
- 15:59But also you have all these great pitchers that basically
- 16:01have a new one every inning. So maybe schemes will go an
- 16:04inning. I don't know.
- 16:05Chris Sale might come next. But when you're constantly
- 16:07putting out a new pitcher, it's really hard for the batters
- 16:10because they don't get, you know, acclimated to that
- 16:12pitcher. Pitchers have an advantage over
- 16:14the hitter with the lack of familiarity.
- 16:16But once you see a pitcher second, third time through, then
- 16:19you kind of get better as a hitter.
- 16:20You know what to expect when you don't know what to expect.
- 16:23Again, it's a big benefit for the for the the pitching, for
- 16:26the defense. So I think that's why you've
- 16:28seen a lot of these lower scoring games here in the in the
- 16:30All Star game. And again, 14-1 and two to the
- 16:32under last 17. So adding it all up here guys,
- 16:36we got to lean to the American League, but all the movement,
- 16:40all the money is going under. The only last thing you got to
- 16:43search out for is the hook. You got to get under 7 1/2.
- 16:46Shop around because a lot of books again are falling down to
- 16:49seven, but that's my play tonight.
- 16:51We got the ALNL All Star Major League Baseball game under 7
- 16:551/2. Now that about does it for
- 16:57episode 77 of the all systems go sports betting pod.
- 17:01I know it's kind of a weird week, a slow week, but we're
- 17:03making the most of it. Hopefully get some winners here
- 17:05for tonight. Can we eke out a two and one
- 17:08with a profitable day? That is the goal, but this is
- 17:11the part of the pod where I asked something of you, could
- 17:14you please do me a favor, help me grow this podcast
- 17:16organically? Could you give this podcast a 5

- 18:48Reel so you can get kind of a report card each day so you can
- 18:52learn more about yourself as a better and lean on what your
- 18:55strengths are, work on your weaknesses.
- 18:57So both Juice Reel and Rhythm data-driven, fantastic apps that
- 19:01you should go download right now and use that custom link to do
- 19:04so. Lastly, of course, if you enjoy
- 19:06the breakdowns on the pod and you want to learn more about how
- 19:09to be a sharp data-driven contrarian, better guess what?
- 19:12I wrote a book. Go buy that book.
- 19:14Just go to Amazon.com, type in the everything guide to sports
- 19:17betting. Pick up a copy for you or for a
- 19:19friend. It's got everything I've learned
- 19:20in the industry, how lines are set, how and why they move, how
- 19:24to read line movement, how to locate sharp action, how to go
- 19:26contrarian, how to place a bet in person or online, how to shop
- 19:30for the best line, how to set up a bankroll management plan.
- 19:32It's all included in the Everything Guide to Sports
- 19:35Betting. So pick one up, bring it to the
- 19:37book. I'll sign it for you and I'll
- 19:39I'll buy you a beer. How about that?
- 19:40Or ginger ale if you don't drink, because that's fine too.
- 19:43That about does it everybody. Another pot here in the books,
- 19:46whether I see you at the Borgata in Atlantic City, Twin River in
- 19:49Rhode Island, the Brook of New Hampshire, Foxwoods or Mohegan
- 19:52Sun down in Connecticut at the Encore in Boston or Plain Ridge
- 19:55Park Casino or MGM Springfield, the my neck of the woods in
- 19:58Massachusetts or of course, out in the desert.
- 20:01But I don't even want to know how hot it is right now.
- 20:03This is this. Today should be our last day of
- 20:05the heat wave in Boston. It's been like 95 for like 2
- 20:08weeks straight. It's been a hot July.
- 20:09It's going to get down to like 85 starting tomorrow, so I can't
- 20:12wait for that. But I don't know how anyone can
- 20:14live in Vegas in the desert again.
- 20:15I love the bedding, I love the air conditioned rooms, the
- 20:18pools, but I I'd get into probably too much trouble there
- 20:21and I can't stand the heat. So anyway, if you're in Vegas,
- 20:24whether I see you at the South point where the true grinders
- 20:27get down, where Billy Walter sends his number runners, where
- 20:29the lowest juice possible is found in Vegas, or of course at
- 20:33Circa Gamblers paradise there, whether you're jumping in the
- 20:36stadium swimming pool to stay cool or getting a victory burger
- 20:39at the end of the night, whatever the case may be, you're
- 20:41going to walk up to me. You're going to hopefully show
- 20:43me WNBA winner here for today, a low scoring All Star game.
- 20:48Guess what? First one's on me, next one's on
- 20:50you. We're going to post about the
- 20:51book. Sweatshop Contrarian plays all
- 20:53night long. So wish you the best luck.
- 20:55Everyone have a fantastic Tuesday.
- 20:57I'm looking to tomorrow. Let's see, we got two WNBA games
- 21:01for tomorrow. There's nothing for baseball.
- 21:03Baseball comes back on Friday, so we'll talk to WNBA and then,
- 21:08I don't know, maybe we'll dabble into the futures market a little
- 21:10bit on tomorrow's pod. But either way, hope to see you
- 21:13guys there enjoy your Tuesday night.
- 21:16Lastly, of course, stay sharp, stay contrarian.
- 21:19Bet against the public, place yourself on the side of the
- 21:21house. Always be with the smart money,
- 21:23never against it. Will smart money win every time?
- 21:26Of course not. Nothing's locker or guarantee in
- 21:28sports betting. But here's the thing that we can
- 21:30consistently make smart bets with our head and not our heart
- 21:33and lean on the data. We can be against the public,
- 21:36with the house, with the pros, flat bet, avoid parlays and get
- 21:39some CLV. If we can do that, we're going
- 21:41to be OK long term guys. So enjoy the All Star game.
- 21:45Let's have a low scoring game and of course, see if we can get
- 21:48at least one of these WNBA totals.
- 21:50That is the goal. But have a great Tuesday night
- 21:52guys. We back at it tomorrow for
- 21:54episode 78 of the All Systems Go Sports Betting podcast powered
- 21:58by Rhythm. Have a great night everybody,
- 22:01Enjoy the Midsummer classic.
