- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Malay with Fexingo. I'm Lucas, and today Luna and I are going to review some colours. Luna: Ooh, I love colours. Which ones are we doing? Lucas: We're going to revisit purple and grey. Remember when we first learned them? Luna: Yeah! Ungu for purple and kelabu for grey. I still remember that. Lucas: If Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with this language, you know we keep it ad-free and listener-funded. A small group of listeners chips in monthly through buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo, and that's literally what makes these episodes possible. Luna: Yeah, it's a simple way to support the show if you find it useful. So, back to colours. Lucas: Right. Let's start with purple. Listen and repeat: ungu. Luna: Ungu. Lucas: Good. Now, a sentence: Bunga itu ungu. That means 'The flower is purple.' Luna: Bunga itu ungu. Lucas: Exactly. Now grey: kelabu. Luna: Kelabu. Lucas: Great. And a sentence: Awan itu kelabu. 'The cloud is grey.' Luna: Awan itu kelabu. Lucas: Perfect. So let's practice swapping colours. Luna, what colour is the flower? Luna: Bunga itu ungu. Lucas: And the cloud? Luna: Awan itu kelabu. Lucas: Awesome. Now let's try a different flower. Say: Bunga itu kelabu. That would be a grey flower. Luna: Bunga itu kelabu. That sounds a bit sad, but okay. Lucas: And a purple cloud: Awan itu ungu. That would be pretty. Luna: Awan itu ungu. I like that. Lucas: Let's do a quick review. I'll say the colour in English, you say it in Malay. Purple. Luna: Ungu. Lucas: Grey. Luna: Kelabu. Lucas: Great. Now a sentence: The flower is purple. Luna: Bunga itu ungu. Lucas: The cloud is grey. Luna: Awan itu kelabu. Lucas: You nailed it. Now, let's imagine we're looking at a sunset. The sky has purple and grey clouds. Luna: So, awan itu ungu dan kelabu? That's a mix. Lucas: Yes! Awan itu ungu dan kelabu. You can combine them. Luna: Awan itu ungu dan kelabu. Nice. Lucas: Okay, let's do one more round. I'll say the Malay, you translate to English. Bunga itu ungu. Luna: The flower is purple. Lucas: Awan itu kelabu. Luna: The cloud is grey. Lucas: Perfect. So today we reviewed ungu and kelabu. Keep practicing with things around you. Luna: Yeah, look for purple flowers and grey clouds. Or even a purple shirt. Lucas: Exactly. Thanks for joining us. We'll be back with more Malay soon. Luna: Bye for now!
