- Lucas: Hey Luna, ready for another little French adventure? Luna: Always, Lucas. I've been practicing the months from last time. I think I've got them. Lucas: Oh, you've been studying. Let's see. We'll do a quick review, but first, if Fexingo has been helping you make real progress with French, a handful of listeners chip in monthly through buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. That's literally what funds making this many of these, and we're grateful for every one of them. Luna: Yeah, it's a small group that keeps this going, and it means we can keep teaching without ads. Lucas: Exactly. Now, let's jump back to the months. Say them with me, slow and steady. Lucas: Janvier. Luna: Janvier. Lucas: Février. Luna: Février. That one's a bit tricky. Lucas: You got it. Mars. Luna: Mars. Lucas: Avril. Luna: Avril. Lucas: Mai. Luna: Mai. That one's easy. Lucas: Juin. Luna: Juin. Sounds like the English word for the month, but with a 'w' sound? No, okay. Lucas: Close enough. Juillet. Luna: Juillet. That's July, right? Like the French Bastille Day. Lucas: Yes, quatorze juillet. And then août. Luna: Août. I always forget that one. It's like 'oot' but not really. Lucas: You'll get it with practice. Septembre. Luna: Septembre. Lucas: Octobre. Luna: Octobre. Lucas: Novembre. Luna: Novembre. Lucas: And décembre. Luna: Décembre. I love that one. It sounds so festive. Lucas: It does. Now, let's put them in order. What comes after janvier? Luna: Février. Lucas: And after février? Luna: Mars. Lucas: Then avril, mai, juin... Can you say the next one? Luna: Juillet. Lucas: Perfect. And then? Luna: Août, septembre, octobre, novembre, décembre. Lucas: You did it. That's all twelve. Luna: I think I've got them now. But let me try again. Janvier, février, mars, avril, mai, juin, juillet, août, septembre, octobre, novembre, décembre. Lucas: Wow, that was smooth. You have been practicing. Luna: You know I love a good review. And it helps to have a story to remember them by. Lucas: A story? What do you mean? Luna: Well, think about it. Janvier is like the start, everyone's making resolutions. Février is cold and short. Mars comes in like a lion... Lucas: That's more English imagery. But you could say, en janvier, il fait froid. En février, aussi. En mars, ça commence à changer. Luna: Oh, I like that. What about avril? Lucas: En avril, il y a des fleurs. Mai est beau. Juin, on commence l'été. Luna: Nice. Juillet et août, les vacances. Septembre, la rentrée. Lucas: Octobre, les feuilles tombent. Novembre, il fait gris. Décembre, Noël. Luna: That's a perfect little tour of the year. Lucas: So now, if someone asks you, quelle est ta saison préférée? What do you say? Luna: Ma saison préférée, c'est l'été, parce que juillet et août sont les meilleurs mois. Lucas: Ah, I love that. And mine is le printemps, especially avril et mai. Luna: I get that. The flowers, the warmer weather. Lucas: Exactly. So, let's do one more quick run-through, just to lock it in. Luna: Sounds good. Janvier, février, mars, avril, mai, juin, juillet, août, septembre, octobre, novembre, décembre. Lucas: Beautiful. And remember, you can practice these anytime. Maybe think about what you do each month in French. Luna: That's a nice idea. I'll try to say, en janvier, je regarde les films. En février... hmm, je bois du chocolat chaud. Lucas: Perfect. And that's a wrap for today's review. Keep practicing, and we'll see you next time. Luna: Yeah, see you soon. Bye!
