- 0:33about God and to strengthen your daily walk with Jesus Christ.
- 1:03Throughout time, people have always been seeking peace.
- 1:06It seems that the longer this world exists, the more intensely people seek peace.
- 1:12Much money is spent and incredible amounts of time are put towards finding peace in one's life.
- 1:18Join us today in this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries as Kim takes
- 1:23a walk through the scriptures, revealing God's guarantee for a peace in our lives.
- 1:29Peace is promised and peace is available.
- 1:32May the peace of god rule in your
- 1:35hearts may the peace of god rule in
- 1:38your hearts you see that's a statement a
- 1:41prayer that we can find in god's holy word
- 1:44but the problem is that for most of us we
- 1:48don't have that when colossians 3
- 1:5115 says and let the peace of god rule in your hearts to
- 1:54the which also you are called in one body and be ye thankful you see most of
- 2:00us live our lives in such a way that we are stressed and we are upset and there's
- 2:07some piece of unhappiness in our lives and we are not in touch with our joy.
- 2:15And there are people who will claim to be able to give you quick fixes.
- 2:20They'll sell you books. They'll talk to you for a little while.
- 2:24They'll tell you how to spend your money and all these different things.
- 2:28And when it's all said and done, you still feel something missing.
- 2:33And God has ordained and anointed many people who can help us in times that we feel unrest.
- 2:41Who can help us in times when we're not in touch with that inner joy and that
- 2:46peace that God so desperately wants to give you.
- 2:50But the reality of it is that none of those people, none of those books,
- 2:55and no thing that you can do or buy is going to give you peace.
- 3:00Peace comes from Jesus Christ.
- 3:03And it comes from a working knowledge and a living faith.
- 3:09It's a working knowledge in who
- 3:12jesus christ is it's a working knowledge in what
- 3:16jesus christ has done it is a personal relationship
- 3:19with the god of the universe through his son
- 3:22who loves you so much that he died to
- 3:25give his life from the cross of calvary that you might
- 3:28find peace as you
- 3:31find a savior for eternity and
- 3:35it comes down to the condition of our
- 3:38heart we're not going to know peace
- 3:41if we don't know god we're not
- 3:45going to have peace in our life if we
- 3:47don't have a personal intimate relationship
- 3:51with jesus christ the reason being is is the bible tells us that we are all
- 3:56sinners in need of a savior that god created us in his image and since he created
- 4:01us in his image he wants to have a personal relationship with us and he has
- 4:06an ultimate plan for our lives,
- 4:09jesus loves us.
- 4:12And for us to have peace, we have to find a reconciliation with Christ.
- 4:20And thank God, we don't have to look far to get it.
- 4:25And we don't have to be rich. We don't have to be highly educated.
- 4:29We don't have to come from a certain family. We don't have to live in a certain place.
- 4:34God created all of us in his image. And he said that whosoever shall call upon him shall be saved.
- 4:42And he explained to us that his peace is available to all who come to him.
- 4:48And since his salvation and his invitation is to all, it is absolutely a promise
- 4:54that to all we have the opportunity to have his peace.
- 5:00And it can rule in our hearts, as we're told in Colossians chapter 3.
- 5:06But you see, the problem is, is that we have an understanding problem for some of us.
- 5:12Some of us have not understood the love of God.
- 5:16We've not understood the need for him in our lives.
- 5:21And this misunderstanding has kept us in a place where the devil could kill,
- 5:27steal, and destroy our lives and our joy.
- 5:30So the first thing we have to do to get that peace that is guaranteed by Jesus
- 5:35Christ and through him and by him is we must receive him.
- 5:41We must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently
- 5:45seek him as we're told in hebrews we have to receive him as nicodemus came to jesus by night.
- 5:53Because he didn't want anyone else to see him. Jesus said unto him,
- 5:58Marvel not that I say unto you, you must be born again.
- 6:02You see, that's the question that each of us must face.
- 6:07What will we do with Jesus Christ? And regardless of what circumstance you're in right now.
- 6:13Regardless of the problem that you are facing, the root
- 6:17of the problem is going to come down to your heart
- 6:20condition with regards
- 6:23to jesus christ and if you don't know
- 6:26him as personal savior the very bottom line of
- 6:29your problem is that you don't know jesus
- 6:32because from genesis to revelations he
- 6:35has written you a love letter that has given you everything you
- 6:39need to live life and to live it more abundantly
- 6:42for you see he left the splendor of heaven that
- 6:45you might have life and have it more abundantly he
- 6:48came to give you an abundant life and
- 6:53he has offered it to each of us but somewhere
- 6:56through time in your life and maybe perhaps even through
- 6:59the history accounts that you have read you have
- 7:02been duped by the devil and the
- 7:05devil has somehow suckered you into believing that
- 7:09there is no god he somehow has
- 7:12tried to make you believe that you can make it
- 7:15on your own that you have everything you
- 7:18need perhaps you don't even feel.
- 7:21That you need god because you've been going through life just fine but i want
- 7:25you to know that that journey you're taking is a blessing of god and it's his
- 7:29grace that has enabled you to have life and to breathe but even though you may
- 7:35look me in the face and tried to argue me that without God, you're doing just fine.
- 7:40I have from Genesis to revelations and personal experience and a personal relationship
- 7:45with Jesus Christ that will allow me to look you in the face and say,
- 7:49you don't know love until you know the love of God.
- 7:54And that you don't have peace. Because you see, you can't fool yourself.
- 7:59You know you don't have all the answers.
- 8:02You know that you're just one mistake away from failure.
- 8:06But I can look you in the eyes on the authority of God's holy word and tell you that he never fails.
- 8:13And so my happiness may be circumstantial,
- 8:18but my joy is eternal and it is provided me by Jesus Christ.
- 8:23And when my heart is in the condition that it is supposed to be in perfect alignment
- 8:28in his will, trusting in him and believing in him, then I have perfect peace
- 8:34regardless of what is happening in my life.
- 8:37Because I realize that it's not up to me.
- 8:40When the Bible says that we're to lean on into our own understanding,
- 8:44I understand what it means.
- 8:47But does it mean that I always do it?
- 8:51No. sometimes I get messed up just like you you see the Bible tells me that
- 9:00if I keep he will keep me in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on him.
- 9:08He tells me that in Isaiah chapter 26 and verse 3.
- 9:12If I just keep my mind on him. And then he tells me in Psalms 37 verses 4 through 5.
- 9:20That if I delight thyself also in the Lord.
- 9:23He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
- 9:28And so if I'm living in a place in my heart. Where I am looking at my circumstances.
- 9:34When doubt begins to creep in. even
- 9:37for those of us who believe in God when we
- 9:41take our eyes off of him and begin to watch
- 9:44the storm we have a problem
- 9:47remember Peter he was
- 9:50in the boat and I want to remind you something very
- 9:53important of that story the storm is
- 9:56raging all around Peter while he's in the boat and he
- 9:59looks out in the midst of the storm and he
- 10:03sees a figure he can't make out what i
- 10:06want to remind you is that in the midst of the storm jesus
- 10:10was already there and because peter's
- 10:13relationship with jesus was sometimes one that
- 10:16was filled with doubt and questions much not unlike
- 10:20mine and yours when he saw the figure of
- 10:23jesus on the water he couldn't
- 10:26make it out perhaps it was because peter was too far from jesus you see jesus
- 10:33never moves he's the same yesterday today and forevermore he is the alpha the
- 10:39omega the beginning and the end he is the great i am.
- 10:45He will stick closer to you than a brother, and he will never leave you nor forsake you.
- 10:50So in our world, as we begin to look at that picture of Peter being in the water,
- 10:56and Jesus looking like he's so far away that he cannot recognize him,
- 11:01in our own lives, that same picture means we have walked away from the presence of God.
- 11:08God is there, and he's still shining brightly, and
- 11:11his nail-scarred hands are still outreached with
- 11:14wonderful invitation for us to come and
- 11:17repent and to give ourselves to him and to
- 11:20humbly bow before his presence and allow him
- 11:23to have the rule of our life in our hearts but we have walked away from the
- 11:27path that we know we should be and so when the storm is in the middle of our
- 11:31lives and we're looking through the storm when we see him but he's so far away
- 11:36because we are not where we should be but in that same story.
- 11:42Peter he looks down he says lord if it
- 11:46be you bid me come and i
- 11:49have good news in hebrews chapter
- 11:5314 4 verses 14 through
- 11:5616 there's a picture of jesus bidding
- 12:00us to come boldly through the throne of God that we may obtain help and mercy
- 12:05in time of need and he explains that he was tempted like as we are yet without
- 12:11sin and he gets what we're going through and he says come just as Peter stood in the boat.
- 12:20Looking across at what he thought was Jesus, but so far from him in his life
- 12:25at that moment that he couldn't recognize him.
- 12:27He called unto Jesus, and Jesus said, Come.
- 12:31In 1 John 1, 9, we are told that if we confess our sins, he's faithful and just
- 12:35to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
- 12:39And in Hebrews chapter 4, he said, Come.
- 12:42Peter steps out of the boat, and he begins to walk on water.
- 12:46His eyes are fixated fixated on
- 12:49jesus he sees nothing of the storm around him
- 12:52and it's under his feet bible tells
- 12:55us in the book of psalms that all things are
- 12:59under jesus's feet but like you and me peter begins to look around at his storms
- 13:05he begins to see the things around him he begins to realize it doesn't make
- 13:12sense he can't walk on water he is a mere man,
- 13:16and he begins to take his eyes off of jesus and begins to look around and he falls immediately,
- 13:23and is consumed by his storm perhaps that's
- 13:27where you are right now you know of jesus at
- 13:30one time you even had a relationship with him but it's
- 13:34just been a while since you've been on your knees and prayed it's been
- 13:36a while since you've let him have rule in your
- 13:39heart and you miss that relationship and there's
- 13:42a gnawing in your soul and there's a peace that's missing
- 13:45and the world has sort of gotten
- 13:48a little tough for you right now you have problems and
- 13:51you have issues you have things that are causing you stress and keeping you
- 13:55up at night maybe you're having trouble paying your bills maybe there's a relationship
- 13:59in your life that is driving you crazy or absolutely causing you stress and
- 14:06that's all you can think about and you're consumed.
- 14:09But in that account in the scriptures, Peter, as he's let the whole storm overcome
- 14:16him, he reaches up and he says, Lord, save me.
- 14:21The Bible says that immediately Jesus reached down.
- 14:25He not only lifted him up, he carried him safely to the boat.
- 14:30My friend, the peace you're seeking is in Jesus Christ.
- 14:35The steps you need to take perhaps is
- 14:39repentance or perhaps it's a faith
- 14:42but either way you've got to have a conversation with
- 14:46jesus christ and you've got to come to him in
- 14:49faith believing you've got to know who
- 14:52jesus is and you've got to trust him
- 14:55with your life when we read that we should
- 14:58delight in him we mean we need
- 15:01to love him he needs to be the joy do
- 15:04you know how absolutely joyous Peter must
- 15:07have felt as Jesus grabbed him up and held him in his arms and carried him safely
- 15:12to the boat can you imagine how well you would feel how incredibly happy you
- 15:18would be if you just would let Jesus lift you up out of the place you're at
- 15:23right now and carry you safely to the shore.
- 15:27Can you imagine that feeling of letting go of all those responsibilities that you think is you?
- 15:37Yes, we have to be responsible. And the things you have to do will most likely
- 15:41not change even when you give them to Jesus.
- 15:44But one thing will change. You won't be doing them on your own.
- 15:47You won't be doing them in your own strength.
- 15:49You won't be making the plans. It won't be left up to you with a finite mind
- 15:54to determine what an infinite reason or answer is.
- 15:59But instead, you can come boldly to the throne of God and you can lay your troubles at his feet.
- 16:04He says, casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you.
- 16:09You see, I think it's incredible that he wrote that like that.
- 16:12He didn't say because he cared for you.
- 16:15It's easy to see. John 3.16 says, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son,
- 16:20that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but
- 16:24have everlasting life that work on calvary that bought me in eternity in heaven
- 16:28and a fellowship with jesus christ and inducted me into the family of god is
- 16:34an amazing thing that my eyes cannot see my mind can't understand but my heart knows and it feels.
- 16:42He did that some 2,000 years ago for me. But just so we don't think that his
- 16:48love stopped at Calvary and that his love is completely contained within the
- 16:53flow from here to eternity,
- 16:56he writes for us, for he careth for you.
- 17:00That's the present. That's now. That's forever and continuous.
- 17:05You can bank on it that this day, right now,
- 17:08you are hearing the words that he careth
- 17:12for you and he says casting you get
- 17:15to do it more than once it's not that
- 17:17today i feel worried about this and so i've
- 17:20got one little card that says i can hand
- 17:23it to jesus today no my friend
- 17:26this is casting constant continuous
- 17:30you don't let any of it stick to you because
- 17:34your heart delights in him he's who you want to
- 17:37know he's who you want to be around he's the
- 17:40person you want to talk to he's the person you want
- 17:42to be with and he's that real he says trust in the lord with all thine heart
- 17:47in proverbs 3 5 and 7 and lean not into thine own understanding in all thy ways
- 17:53acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths be not wise in thine own eyes
- 17:57my goodness remember he said he would keep him in perfect peace.
- 18:03Whose mind was stayed on thee.
- 18:06If your mind is stayed on Christ, if your mind is fixated on him,
- 18:11if your focus is on Jesus, you're going to remember his promises.
- 18:15You know, like the one that said, I'll never leave you nor forsake you.
- 18:18The promises that I'll supply all your needs according to my riches in glory.
- 18:22The one that says you can do all things through me because I will strengthen you.
- 18:27The one that says I have gone to prepare a place for you that where I am,
- 18:30you may be also. And if I've gone to prepare a place for you,
- 18:32I'll come again, and I will call you unto myself.
- 18:35And in my father's house are many mansions.
- 18:38And he's got one just for you.
- 18:41Can you imagine? Jesus loves you.
- 18:45This I know. For the Bible tells me so.
- 18:50Peace, it's not elusive. Peace isn't for only those who have great wealth.
- 18:56Peace is for those who have Jesus, and in him there is great wealth.
- 19:00There are riches untold.
- 19:03There's a resource that the world doesn't understand.
- 19:06He said, I am the I am.
- 19:09But you got to believe in mark chapter 9 and verse 23 he says if thou canst
- 19:15believe all things did you hear me if thou canst believe all things.
- 19:24Possible to him that believes you see peace comes with those who have hope and
- 19:35i have a hope that the world can't take away because the world didn't give it
- 19:39to me my hope is in jesus christ.
- 19:43In romans chapter 5 and verse 1 he says therefore
- 19:47being justified by faith you see my faith in jesus christ isn't about me it's
- 19:53about his finished work on calvary it's about his ability to never fail it's
- 19:58about his ability to provide it's about his perfectness it's about his love for me,
- 20:05and that faith i've placed in him makes it as if i've never sinned and that's
- 20:09what justification means i'm not perfect and every day i use first john 1 9
- 20:15and i go to him and i repent.
- 20:17But you see i have a peace that is
- 20:20wrapped up in that jesus and he says we have peace with god through our lord
- 20:24jesus christ you see he's my lord he's the one in whom i'm placing my faith
- 20:31and he's the one in whom i trust and he says that now the god of hope fill you with joy and peace,
- 20:39in believing that you may abound in hope
- 20:42through the power of the holy ghost i have hope because my hope
- 20:45is in jesus christ and his righteousness and
- 20:49i have jesus in me because remember
- 20:52in romans 10 13 he said whosoever shall call upon the name of the lord shall
- 20:57be saved in psalms 18 verse 2 he says the lord is my rock and my fortress and
- 21:04my deliverer my god my strength in whom i will trust my buckler,
- 21:10and this life that we travel so fast.
- 21:14We travel with such uncertainty I have
- 21:17the seat belt of the Holy Spirit and God buckles me
- 21:20in on the rock of his salvation and
- 21:24the steadfastness stead fastness of his son
- 21:27and I have joy unspeakable and
- 21:30full of glory because I believe him
- 21:33when he said in Philippians 4 6 through 8 be careful
- 21:36for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with
- 21:39Thanksgiving let your requests be made known
- 21:42unto god you see thank him as you're praying
- 21:45believe him so much in him that you
- 21:48know that that prayer you're praying is falling on
- 21:51a god that cares and answers and is able
- 21:54and loves you and knows the way that he
- 21:57has for you you see he says with thanksgiving
- 22:00let your requests be made known unto god and the peace of
- 22:03god which passeth all understanding shall
- 22:07keep your hearts and minds through christ jesus
- 22:10there's a guaranteed peace in jesus because
- 22:14he is peace he's the
- 22:16prince of peace and regardless of
- 22:19what you're feeling he is the answer for
- 22:23your every need and he loves you my friend
- 22:27today right now you have the opportunity to find the peace of god that passes
- 22:35all understanding by trusting and believing in a God that cannot fail and receiving His Son.
- 22:44Jesus Christ, as your Savior.
- 22:47May the peace of God rule in your hearts.
