There are some places you visit because they have always been on your bucket list. Then there are places that mean something to you long before you ever arrive. Normandy was one of those places for Scott. Both of his grandfathers served in the Army in the European theater during World War II. Neither of them stormed the beaches of Normandy, but one of my grandfathers helped build temporary bridges during the war, helping Allied forces continue moving across Europe.
