Transcript
- 0:06Hello, what's your least favorite scary movie?
- 0:10It's cumulative. Welcome to What's Your Least
- 0:13Favorite Scary Movie? The podcast where we talk about
- 0:15the good, the bad, the ugly and the absurd and all of our
- 0:17favorite. And least favorite scary movies
- 0:19because we believe every horror movie rightfully has its fan
- 0:22base even. If we don't always get it.
- 0:23My name is Travis. My name is Jesse and welcome
- 0:26back to our monthly bonus series where we are live uncut and
- 0:31mostly undrawn. That's right, we are back to To
- 0:34be or not to be where we troll the free streaming services and
- 0:39find some horror movies that maybe don't get as much love as
- 0:42some of the big box office releases.
- 0:44Yeah, for sure. And it's my month to pick, so I
- 0:47went Christmas themed yet again. I feel like that's the
- 0:49appropriate way to do it in December.
- 0:51Yeah, it'd be silly not to. And I chose us, a little movie
- 0:55with two names. So the name on the title screen
- 1:00is Chris Massacre, Christmasacre, Chris Massacre,
- 1:04Chris Massacre, and it's also known as Secret Santa, which I
- 1:08feel is a more fitting name for this.
- 1:10It's a more fitting name, and that's also the one you're going
- 1:13to want to use if you try and look this up on IMDb.
- 1:15On IMDb, but if you try and look it up on Tubi, look up Chris
- 1:19Massacre because there is another Secret Santa movie out
- 1:22there that is not this one. Because like I, I looked it up
- 1:26before and I was like, this is not the same movie.
- 1:28Like, I was like, I was really, really confused.
- 1:31So yeah, we're going to be talking about that.
- 1:33But before we do, do you have anything you need to announce?
- 1:36But no Cool. All right, that's easy right
- 1:40there. All right.
- 1:40So I guess that means we're going to get right on into it
- 1:42since we don't do polls for these.
- 1:44So all right, let's begin. Let's do it.
- 1:47All right, so Chris Massacre debuted November 28th, 2015 at
- 1:53the Canada Blood and Snow Film Fest.
- 1:55So you're right, this is a Canadian film.
- 1:57You caught the, you clocked the accents last night.
- 2:02Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was. It had a couple of those
- 2:05sprinkled in. So we watched it on Tubi and
- 2:08that's where I think it's really only available as of right now.
- 2:12I'm sure there's other places. I didn't really look too hard.
- 2:14But it's written by Mike Mcmurin, directed by Mike
- 2:18Mcmurin, music by Andre Becker and special effects by Carlos
- 2:23Henriques and The Butcher Shop. Which is a fantastic name for a
- 2:28special effects company or a band.
- 2:32That's true. You could do both.
- 2:35Oh my. God, what if they do both?
- 2:37I mean, honestly, it'd be like that show that we saw at the
- 2:40Jamboree in Memphis where they had like, dismembered heads
- 2:44shooting blood out of their guitars.
- 2:46Or like a a Gore concert. Yeah, honestly, I mean, that's
- 2:50like a perfect combo right there.
- 2:52You could do that. You should do that, Henrique.
- 2:54Yeah, Enrique. No, Carlos Enriquez.
- 2:57Carlos. Enriquez.
- 2:58Yes, Henriquez. Henriquez OK.
- 3:01Yes, all right. Do it, do it, do it.
- 3:06All right, Cass starring Annette Wozniak as Nicole, Jeff Allman
- 3:11as Dwayne, Keegan Chambers as Carissa, Brett Baird as Brian
- 3:16Alliteration right there. Nikki Caro as Olivia, Tony Nash
- 3:21as Professor Ramsey, Matthew Chisholm as Clay, Estrita, Ooza
- 3:26Hausa as Phyllis and Alex, Alexandra Simpson as May.
- 3:32OK, Who for that does struggle out there at the NFL Apart, but
- 3:35it's OK cuz we're at our favorite part of the show.
- 3:38Well, first of all, I just want to say we do mess up names a
- 3:42lot. But normally when we're editing,
- 3:45we just, we'll take a pause, go for it again, and then we edit
- 3:50out the flubs. Welcome to.
- 3:52The Welcome to the live stream. Y'all getting the raw the raw
- 3:54footage right here. OK, now it's time.
- 3:57Budget or budgeted? Good.
- 4:01I do have a number. Really.
- 4:03I'm impressed. What's the number?
- 4:05What are you going to guess? I feel like you didn't even
- 4:08like. Is it that obvious that you
- 4:10didn't even, like have to answer it?
- 4:11It's bugtad. Yeah, it's bugtad.
- 4:13Very, very bugtad. It's 6000 Canadian dollars.
- 4:17What is the American equivalent of that?
- 4:21I don't know. You usually get mad whenever I
- 4:23do that, so I didn't do it. I don't feel like I usually get
- 4:27mad. OK, you don't get mad, but you
- 4:29say you don't like having the conversion.
- 4:33It it is hard for me. Yeah, it's hard for everybody.
- 4:38It's tough out there, people. So yeah, it was $6000
- 4:42crowdfunded. OK, good for them.
- 4:45Don't have opening. Crowdfund things.
- 4:47It is, yeah. And, you know, especially if you
- 4:51don't really have a name, I don't really know if this dude
- 4:55had himself established yet as a filmmaker in his area.
- 4:59You know, who knows? Either way, box office don't
- 5:02have any numbers for that, but I do have the IMDb.
- 5:04It's 4.8. OK.
- 5:10That's about, that's OK. I mean, I'm not, I'm not
- 5:15thinking that everybody's gonna love this one, but I'd be
- 5:17surprised if everybody hated it. Yes, yeah, that's.
- 5:20Where I'm at, that's. A good way of framing that, OK.
- 5:23All right, so I've got 3 movies I'll end up OK.
- 5:26I almost had a cool theme but I had to swap it out with another
- 5:32theme. But it's OK, I got most of those
- 5:34movies on there for both of the themes here.
- 5:36So the theme I end up going with is movies that wear their
- 5:42inspiration on their sleeves, OK?
- 5:44Very, very upfront about what inspired them.
- 5:48OK, so and the other one was going to be crowdfunded movies
- 5:54also? Oh, that's also a very
- 5:55interesting theme. I've got two out of three
- 5:58crowdfunded movies here, but all of these are very heavily
- 6:01inspired by something, so the first movie is Final Girls.
- 6:05Oh nice, I really like that movie.
- 6:07Yeah, me too. We watched that for the first
- 6:09time this year over October. So if you guys have not watched
- 6:12that movie, it's a lot of fun. It wears it's Friday the 13th
- 6:16inspiration hard. It goes like I mean it basically
- 6:21it references pieces even it just like it references slashers
- 6:26all slashers pretty heavily. Yeah, it's a if you haven't
- 6:30watched that movie, we put it off.
- 6:31Not put it off, but like it had been on our radar and we just
- 6:35hadn't watched it for a while. And I wish we'd watched it
- 6:39sooner because it was so much fun.
- 6:41Yeah, me too. Honestly, I kind of want to
- 6:43watch it again like any time I got past I'm like, oh, I kind of
- 6:45want to watch it. All right, so that released
- 6:48November 5th, 2015. 6.5 million. OK budget.
- 6:54Don't have a gross IMDb 6.5. See, when you said 6.5, at first
- 6:59I thought you were saying the IMDb score, and I was like,
- 7:02that's good. Oh yeah, it's Oh my God, I
- 7:04didn't even like make that connection, but it's the same as
- 7:07yeah. So that was the one that was not
- 7:11crowdfunded. OK, that one, from what I could
- 7:14tell, it seems like it was studio.
- 7:16All right, I have the next one. Do bro Party massacre three.
- 7:22Yeah, that one was crowdfunded, yes, and it is very much
- 7:27inspired by like the slumber party massacre stuff and just in
- 7:32title alone, and then also has all kinds of slasher yeah tropes
- 7:36and movie references all throughout.
- 7:39Garson, Yeah. Turbo OK, so that released July
- 7:447th, 2015. Four $100,000 budget.
- 7:47Although I think I remember because we talked about this, if
- 7:49anybody wants to listen to that episode, listen to that episode,
- 7:53you should. It was a good time.
- 7:54It was a 200th episode special. Yeah.
- 7:57I think that the budget is different than what is listed
- 8:01because I think I remember going into that in that.
- 8:03Episode. Yeah.
- 8:05Because they had some other stuff like producers doubling
- 8:07down on stuff. I can't remember exactly.
- 8:09There's some really good information in that episode.
- 8:11Definitely go listen to it. Go watch the movie.
- 8:13Yeah, for sure do both. Yeah.
- 8:15So I don't have a gross for it, but the IMDb is 6 out of 10.
- 8:19Rude. Yeah, it should be an 11 out of
- 8:2110. Yeah, it's the perfect movie.
- 8:24It's perfect. But then again, I feel like you
- 8:26have to have a certain type of sense of humor to appreciate it.
- 8:29That's true. We did talk a lot about how it's
- 8:31smart, stupid humor. Yeah, if you don't find it funny
- 8:34at all then it's charm is like. Gone.
- 8:37Yeah, that's. True, you have to find it funny
- 8:39to be effective. All right.
- 8:40And the final movie Harbinger down.
- 8:44I feel like I've heard of that. You have I, I feel like I've
- 8:47brought it up to you a couple of times.
- 8:48So this movie was also crowdfunded.
- 8:50From what I saw, it is OK. It's the team that did the
- 8:56effects for The Thing remake. OK, so you remember, yes, you've
- 9:00definitely mentioned this to me before then.
- 9:02The Thing remake or prequel, I guess whatever you want to call
- 9:06it, that came out in 2015. It had practical effects ready
- 9:11to go for the movie, just like the original, and then the
- 9:15studio decided to do CGI effects out of the blue, which cut all
- 9:20the hard work that this team did.
- 9:22And then they wanted to still display those effects.
- 9:26So they got this movie down, Harbinger down, and that's where
- 9:31they put it to work. And if you look at the poster, I
- 9:34mean, it's like super heavily inspired by The Thing.
- 9:36So that's where that inspiration comes from.
- 9:38The Thing. Oh, OK, OK.
- 9:40So that released August 7th 2015.
- 9:43I don't have the budget for what it crowdfunded but the gross of
- 9:4761,000 OK IMDb 4.6. Oh no.
- 9:52Yeah, maybe they just were all effects and no story.
- 9:55I don't know. We'll see.
- 9:57It's. Hard to say, yeah.
- 9:58All right, on to tag lines. I've only got 10.
- 10:01No. It's OK, it's not bad.
- 10:05These presents are gonna be killer.
- 10:06Would. You kind of like that.
- 10:09It's kind of fitting for the Secret Santa tag on or the
- 10:13title. I feel.
- 10:14Chris Massacre, It kind of works.
- 10:17Yeah, Yeah. OK.
- 10:19All right. Actually, do you think it kind
- 10:20of works for Chris Massacre too? I mean, it works for anything
- 10:23Christmas related, but yeah, you know better for Secret Santa I
- 10:26feel. OK, that's it for the stuff we
- 10:28don't do Fun facts since it's to be episodes.
- 10:31So I guess we're going to go on into good, bad, ugly and absurd.
- 10:34Oh, and also why I chose this. One yes.
- 10:36Why did you choose this? One so I, I wanted to get a
- 10:40Christmas horror movie because it's December and there's a lot
- 10:45of low budget stuff out there. I feel like this is like an
- 10:47appropriate one that a lot of people go for, people go for
- 10:50holiday movies, especially when you're trying to like get
- 10:53yourself out there. And I, I just wanted to kind of
- 10:57like find just like an interesting looking one.
- 11:00I saw like the little clip from this and I saw like the trailer
- 11:06was the shots of the killer wrapping the presence of like
- 11:10all the weapons. And honestly too, the killer
- 11:14rapping skills on point. Yeah, super tight.
- 11:17Oh my God, I'm jealous. I want I want a lesson with
- 11:20them. But like, I didn't even like
- 11:22listen to any of it 'cause I like my, the audio was silenced,
- 11:25but like the visuals and the way that it looked and everything,
- 11:28it looked like like a type of movie that I wanted to do.
- 11:32And the influence for this one, by the way, that I feel like
- 11:35inspired that theme for the the three movies I chose.
- 11:39I feel like this is heavily inspired by Black Christmas.
- 11:43I could definitely see that. With how it's shots and the
- 11:47killer kind of I guess a little bit, it reminded me a little bit
- 11:51of Black Christmas whenever I was watching like the clip of
- 11:54it. So I was like, you know what,
- 11:55this seems like it could be really cool.
- 11:57So that's what I went with. OK, right, so now good.
- 12:02What did you like about this one?
- 12:04I actually thought this was a fun little story.
- 12:06I like the concept. I like that you really get to
- 12:09know all of the characters, which I think is more rare in
- 12:14these types of low budget movies.
- 12:16I feel like a lot of times they tend to just get get on with the
- 12:19story and get to the like me of what's happening.
- 12:22Yeah. Some of them like just jump the
- 12:24gun and just go straight to like, this is what people want
- 12:27to see. Yeah, but but we get to know
- 12:29like the characters that we're involved with.
- 12:31And there were like, actually, surprisingly, a lot of layers of
- 12:34things going on. Yeah, yeah, it's kind of
- 12:36surprising. Yeah, and the story was
- 12:37cohesive. It made sense and I really liked
- 12:41that. I liked the killer masks, how
- 12:44they had like these drawn on I. Like that too.
- 12:48That was really cool. The like I, I love that.
- 12:53I think that's so fun and so camp and so drag in such an
- 12:58amazing way. So I love that.
- 13:00Yeah, I thought it was really cool.
- 13:03And I, I like the way I like that the presents were
- 13:08meaningful because what you were gifted was like what ended up
- 13:11being the the tool that kills you.
- 13:14That's smart. That's really, really cool.
- 13:16And I think we had like, there are some amazing moments of
- 13:20humor, like Dwayne being shocked that the final exam for his
- 13:25history test was going to be cumulative, or Carissa when she
- 13:30is killed in the bathtub and it's supposed to be that the
- 13:32hair. Dryer.
- 13:33That was so funny. The cord is too short and so he
- 13:36just starts walloping her with the hair dryer.
- 13:39That was amazing. Like that is A+ my type of
- 13:44humor. So I think that this really told
- 13:47a really fun and engaging story. Yeah, I agree with a lot of what
- 13:52you said there. Let me pull on my notes I guess,
- 13:55since I haven't done that yet and I write this shit down on.
- 13:58There, dummy, that's the wrong movie.
- 14:01There we go. Here we go.
- 14:03OK, so the good the first one I have is I like the way that this
- 14:07thing is shot. I like the look of it.
- 14:09I looked down the line and I saw a couple of people complaining
- 14:12about like the green filter thrown on, but I liked it
- 14:15honestly. It like, I mean, if that's the
- 14:18type of movie you want to make and that's the type of movie
- 14:21that you enjoy watching, like I mean, I love those.
- 14:25I love like those. Filters.
- 14:26While we were watching that, I was like, oh, Travis probably
- 14:29loves all the noise on the screen right now, Yeah.
- 14:30I mean, honestly, if I make a movie I want to like, I'm
- 14:33slapping that shit on there too, you know what I mean?
- 14:35And they like, I feel like they knew what they were doing with
- 14:37it because they it, it's color graded in a way that it looks
- 14:42like it's like shot on like almost like eight 8mm, like
- 14:46Super 8 film. OK.
- 14:48Yeah. And they actually like got like
- 14:50the lighting rail. It's like tungsten and stuff
- 14:52like that. Like on indoor shots.
- 14:53I don't know, like it. It looked really, really
- 14:56impressive. I was kind of, I don't know.
- 14:58I was pretty impressed with it. I like the shots of the killer's
- 15:00perspective, too. I thought that they did a good
- 15:03job with that. I think that the killer is
- 15:06pretty effective in this movie too honestly.
- 15:08Like the deaths that we get with those presents, they're pretty
- 15:13like the effects are well done for such a small budget movie.
- 15:17Yeah. And.
- 15:19Not to harp on the hair dryer death too much, but like they
- 15:22make her head look caved in. Yeah, no, they do a good job.
- 15:26And then they also take the drill and drill that one girl's
- 15:28eye out. Yeah, that eyeball was real
- 15:32gooey looking. Yeah.
- 15:33And I also feel like this is an appropriate runtime for this
- 15:37type of movie because it's a very tight movie.
- 15:40It's a very very limited in location, but it works.
- 15:45It's like 78 minutes I think. Yeah, it's paced really well
- 15:48too. So I feel like they like.
- 15:51And that's another thing that I feel like you don't see too much
- 15:54in these types of movies where it's clearly like, low budget.
- 15:58And, you know, I don't know if this person's like, cranked out
- 16:01a lot of movies or has a lot of experience, but they did a good
- 16:05job pacing the story. Like, they like, timed out kills
- 16:09just enough to keep it engaging that, like you said before, the
- 16:13characters, we got a lot of depth with them.
- 16:16Yeah. And it was all entertaining.
- 16:18Like I was engaged throughout the entire time.
- 16:21And it's not not to talk too much about our upcoming episode
- 16:24too much, but double featuring this and it's a Wonderful Night,
- 16:28which is also a very short movie with a very tight story.
- 16:33Like it was a it was an amount of time that flew by faster than
- 16:37it felt like it should have. Yeah, I honestly was shocked
- 16:40when I was like, damn, is that it?
- 16:43OK, so let's move on to Beth. What did you know like?
- 16:47I think my biggest thing 'cause this is clearly not a multicam
- 16:50production, so that means that when we have characters talking
- 16:55to each other, you know, we've got those different angles of
- 16:58people's faces on the conversation, right?
- 17:00So we'll see like Brian's face in one shot and then Nicole's
- 17:03face on the next shot. So that means those scenes are
- 17:05being shot at least twice from different angles, right?
- 17:09And when they're being edited together, he's leaving just a
- 17:12little bit too much of A pause in between the lines.
- 17:15So it doesn't feel like a natural flow of a conversation.
- 17:18Like it's just half a beat too long.
- 17:21And it's something that sticks with me.
- 17:23And you know this from like when we've shot videos for her TikTok
- 17:27where I'm like, we need to cut this faster.
- 17:28And you're like, it's fine. I'm like, no, no, we need just a
- 17:30little bit more. I get really picky about stuff
- 17:34like that. And it is such an easy thing to
- 17:37overlook. But it like it started to grate
- 17:41on me as the movie went on. Like just those like slightly
- 17:43too long pauses in between conversations.
- 17:46Do you have anything else? Oh, that was the main thing for
- 17:49me. Because I was going to jump in
- 17:50because that's my bad. Is the editing.
- 17:53Oh, really? Yeah, that is a thing that I
- 17:56noticed too. He would linger on some shots a
- 18:00little bit too long and I just think that.
- 18:06So OK, one of the things especially kind of referencing
- 18:10what you were talking about there, they had like every now
- 18:14and then when you like cut a dialogue between two people like
- 18:16that, you have to have it like facing like 1 character's on the
- 18:19right side, 1 character's on the left side.
- 18:21But like sometimes he would flip it.
- 18:22So like the character's on the right side, but then in the next
- 18:25shot they'd be on the left side and that right there.
- 18:28It just like when you're watching a movie like that and
- 18:31it's shot like that, like that just is weird.
- 18:33It doesn't. It's not pleasing to see that.
- 18:37I think it's funny that you were picking up on the visual stuff
- 18:40and I was picking up on like the beats of the conversation type
- 18:43stuff. Well, I was also doing that too,
- 18:45because another thing I was going to say is I feel like, I
- 18:48think for like most of the time it was OK.
- 18:51I understand what you're saying. I think it really was hurting
- 18:57the comedic timing. Yes, mostly with Dwayne's
- 19:00scenes. Yes, because Dwayne, he's the
- 19:02comedic character and I like, I could tell with the actor, he's
- 19:06got comedic chops there. Yeah, he like, he had some funny
- 19:10moments. Like he was like the humor
- 19:11wasn't bad. There were times it was actually
- 19:14really good. I was just thinking like, if you
- 19:16cut it just a little bit, or if you just like, if you just do
- 19:19something like edit, like don't make it be this drawn out or
- 19:25something, or yeah, you gotta like comedic timing's tough.
- 19:28Yeah. It's like an instinct thing.
- 19:30Yes. And you know, I just, I feel
- 19:33like those scenes would have landed better sometimes if they
- 19:38were just a little bit added it better.
- 19:41All of those comedic moments, I could tell that they were there
- 19:44and what they were going for, but there was just like a little
- 19:47bit of something off with all of them, like just holding them
- 19:50back a teensy bit. Yeah, except for the scene with
- 19:53the hair dryer. That was perfectly done.
- 19:57And I also think Dwayne's scene where he's cramming for the
- 20:00final, because I think that was meant to be frantic.
- 20:03And so we were getting like rapid fire moments.
- 20:06I think that helped in the editing 'cause he was trying to
- 20:09make it feel very frenetic and you know, like high speed.
- 20:14So I think that helped with the editing, which also helped with
- 20:17the the comedic feel of it. Yeah, yeah, I was just, I just
- 20:22watched his manager or just yeah, I could.
- 20:24I want to edit this thing I feel like I can fix.
- 20:27It, I feel like this is like a running theme that we're
- 20:29starting to notice with the the multi hyphenate.
- 20:33So the people that are writing, directing and editing, like
- 20:36there's always gonna yeah, the editing 'cause I think that's
- 20:39honestly been one of the biggest criticisms of Damian Lyon.
- 20:42Yeah, is that he struggles with editing his own films.
- 20:45That's one of those things that, like, I feel like it's hard to
- 20:47admit that you're not good at 'cause I feel like I'm a good
- 20:50editor. But then again, like, I feel
- 20:51like somebody would probably watch my show and be like, that
- 20:53needs work, man. Yeah, Like I'd be like.
- 20:56It's kind of like trying to proofread your own writing.
- 20:58Like you know what you mean, you know what your intention is, you
- 21:01know what the beats are supposed to be.
- 21:02And if you have somebody else come in and proofread and
- 21:04they're like, you need to get rid of all this and you're like,
- 21:06no. No, that's how.
- 21:08Perfect. That's it.
- 21:09That's this. Yeah.
- 21:11And then if you like, shelve it for a few months and you come
- 21:15back and you read it and you're like, what the fuck was I even
- 21:17going? For oh God, that happens to me
- 21:19all the time with my drawings. Yeah, I'll go back to them and
- 21:22be like, man, like actually, sometimes I feel like you're
- 21:24more critical of that stuff as you're working on it, but then
- 21:27you go back and you're like, oh, that was actually better than I
- 21:29thought in my head. When I look through my
- 21:31sketchbook, I'm like, who drew these?
- 21:33Certainly not to I, not to these hands.
- 21:36I guess I could be the same with this right here.
- 21:38Yeah. So I think it's just one of
- 21:39those. It's really, really hard to take
- 21:42that kind of a critical eye with your own your your own work and
- 21:46cut out stuff that you feel works or even on the other end
- 21:50of. Am I overthinking this?
- 21:52Probably. Let's just leave good enough
- 21:54alone and maybe it just needed a slight tweak.
- 21:57So sometimes just having that outside perspective can make a
- 22:00big difference. Yeah, for sure.
- 22:02I mean, and you do that sometimes with your drawing, for
- 22:05example, like I'm just going to take last week's episode, The
- 22:08Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2.
- 22:09You're like, I'm struggling with this background.
- 22:11I want to do this. I don't know exactly what to do.
- 22:14And I was like, what if you do mostly this but just tweak it
- 22:17this way? Yeah.
- 22:18And it ended up giving it more of the flow that you were
- 22:21looking for. Help.
- 22:22Yeah, sometimes you need to help people.
- 22:23You don't have to take it on yourself.
- 22:25Jesse helps with that stuff a lot.
- 22:27It's hard doing that. It is, yeah.
- 22:32But ultimately, it makes for a better final product.
- 22:34Yeah, for sure. Yeah.
- 22:35You gotta take yourself out of it sometimes.
- 22:38I've got one more bad to go with this.
- 22:40I didn't necessarily care for the killer reveal.
- 22:45Yeah, I feel like the point was meant to be that there really is
- 22:50no point, but it also just kind of felt like, what was this all
- 22:53for them? Yeah, I like and that's fine if
- 22:57you're. I feel like they were trying to
- 22:58make a joke with it and that was one of those ones that didn't
- 23:00land with me. Yes.
- 23:02Because it ends up with the killer giving a 2 hour montage
- 23:05about how, like, he didn't get the Christmas presents he
- 23:07wanted. Yeah.
- 23:08And then there was basically that.
- 23:10And then, like you also know, throughout the whole movie,
- 23:13we've seen the core cast of characters.
- 23:15They're all together. It's not any of them.
- 23:18Yeah, it can't be any of them. They kept trying to give us red
- 23:21herrings with the professor and Bryan, but yeah, too many things
- 23:27were happening where they had plausible alibis.
- 23:31Yeah. I also like that they took away
- 23:33the creepy guy that was staring at like a or like creeping on
- 23:39Nicole. Yeah, because like, I mean,
- 23:41immediately, as soon as he's introduced, it's like, you know,
- 23:43he's not the killer because the killer was right there.
- 23:46Yeah but then again they throw 3 killers at you at the end.
- 23:48Yeah, that was. It was really weird about that
- 23:52is. Well, I'll save this for an
- 23:55absurd. OK, Yeah, we'll, we'll save that
- 23:57for absurd. All right, let's move on to
- 23:58ugly. Well, I'm glad you brought up
- 24:00the the peeping Tom prowler guy, because yeah, it's, it's
- 24:10disgusting. It's that it's that feeling that
- 24:14you're owed a person's body outside of the context that they
- 24:19are willing to share it with you.
- 24:22And it's gross and it's creepy. And the fact that he's crawling
- 24:26around in the shower, stealing shadows, stealing her underwear,
- 24:29sniffing it, just being so creepy, stalkery, and having
- 24:36such a parasocial relationship with this woman who is doing
- 24:40legal online sex work to pay off her student debt.
- 24:44And also because she enjoys it and feels empowered while doing
- 24:47it. Which could be a whole separate
- 24:50podcast episode on its own. And maybe someday it will.
- 24:52Because I eventually want to cover Cam.
- 24:55I was going to say, we're going to just like topic for an
- 24:57episode. But it it's just, oh, hit him,
- 25:03him, he, him ugly. Yeah, he ugly.
- 25:06Yeah, for sure. Let's see, what was my ugly?
- 25:10Oh, oh, yeah. Speaking of empowering, I
- 25:14thought it was really fucked up for Nicole to use the whole
- 25:17house's food and vegetation for her sex work.
- 25:22And then she wasn't going to, like she wasn't going to replace
- 25:24it. I feel like she had intentions
- 25:26to put it back in the kitchen after she was using it.
- 25:29She did ask if anybody was going to use the cucumber, so I was
- 25:31like, whatever. She took the entire fucking
- 25:33kitchen back there. Anyway, But yeah, she took the
- 25:35whole kitchen back there. And also like, that's gross.
- 25:39It's upsetting and shouldn't be used regardless.
- 25:43But also, Olivia, wash your vegetables before you make a
- 25:47power smoothie. Yeah, that.
- 25:49That's also a thing. Look, I'm not, I'm not going to
- 25:51kink Shane anybody. But, you know, don't use it.
- 25:55Do it responsibly. Do it responsibly.
- 25:57But if you're going to use food in your sex work, that's yours,
- 26:03don't. For people out there, don't put
- 26:06anything up the butt that's tapered at the end because it'll
- 26:09just suck right out. That's why they have like the
- 26:11flared options. Do I want to know why you know
- 26:14this Reddit OK? It comes up on Reddit on
- 26:19whatever for. Like I don't think I've ever
- 26:21been on a forum that at some point hasn't mentioned butt
- 26:24stuff. No, and I every forum mentions,
- 26:28but every, every post, Yeah, every post, one comment.
- 26:32Don't put something up your butt unless it's flared at the end.
- 26:36It's like sticky at the top of every thread.
- 26:38By the way, if it's tapered, do not stick it up your butt.
- 26:40There's. Actually, there was a reel I saw
- 26:42the other day and it was an EMT and it was like friendly
- 26:44reminder this holiday season and they were picking up various
- 26:47Christmas ornaments that were all tapered at the end.
- 26:49And she didn't say anything. She would just pick it up.
- 26:51She'd go. Gross.
- 26:56OK, let's go on over to absurd. Yeah, I, I again, I think this
- 27:04is one of those where, like, the editing didn't quite give the
- 27:08comedy of the moment what it needed.
- 27:11And I get that the killer was meant to be doing this, like,
- 27:14big montage of an absurd because a lot of, like, horror Christmas
- 27:19movies, especially their back story tends to be centered on
- 27:23some childhood trauma. And I, I get that that's what he
- 27:28was like trying to spoof with it.
- 27:30Yeah, but it it needed a little something to jujit up.
- 27:37But I I think that the case like let me go back to 1987.
- 27:41All I wanted was the Miss Molly doll and I was like, OK.
- 27:44Yeah, and it like pans up to like the top left corner.
- 27:47It's like, oh, OK, like A and there's like some.
- 27:50Various shots of him like doing random stuff around and who is
- 27:53The Who were the killers with him.
- 27:55It doesn't feel like it was his family.
- 27:57I think it is. I think that's the mom and the
- 27:59sister, which is weird because it's him.
- 28:03Yeah, I'm. They don't really they.
- 28:06Don't. You don't get a satisfying
- 28:09reveal with it. For anybody who hasn't seen it,
- 28:12and you know, obviously we're way into spoilers here, it's
- 28:15like random Christmas carolers that they encounter throughout
- 28:18the movie. Like, I mean, there's no reason
- 28:22as to why it should be them. I really thought that we were
- 28:26going to get some kind of more grounded reveal of like, hey,
- 28:30all we try and do is spread shear and instead we get like
- 28:34icy slush, water splash on us, bun you drive by us and you
- 28:38don't tip us when we perform because we saw things like that
- 28:41happening to them throughout. So I was like.
- 28:43Also, Dwayne destroyed their bell.
- 28:45Yeah. So like I thought we were going
- 28:47to get something related to that and then it completely reversed
- 28:51the script on us, which I again, I think was almost really,
- 28:55really funny. Yeah, I would think that that
- 28:58could be the reason why, if it wasn't planted from the
- 29:01beginning, that somebody was already killing them.
- 29:03Yeah, yeah. Like why?
- 29:06What did Jerry do? Yeah, yeah.
- 29:09And I guess OK. So here's one the one thing that
- 29:12I was thinking about for my absurd before, but throughout
- 29:15the movie we see that the person kill him.
- 29:17Yeah, it's Clay. Yeah.
- 29:20At the end, we get three other people walking in, all dressed
- 29:22the same with, like, wildly different body frames.
- 29:26Yeah. Are we supposed to believe that
- 29:28it's been all of them doing this, or did they just decide,
- 29:31hey, we're going to dress up too?
- 29:33And also, what made Nicole so special that she gets the bad
- 29:37guy montage? Is it just because he's also a
- 29:39subscriber? Because he said he likes Naughty
- 29:42Nikki? Oh, really?
- 29:43Yeah, yeah, I guess he didn't. Well, I don't know.
- 29:46I honestly I think it was because she was the last one and
- 29:50they wanted to and she also put up a good fight.
- 29:53That's true, she did put up a good fight.
- 29:55OK, I got some other absurds, actually just one more and it
- 29:59was the hair dry thing. Oh, OK.
- 30:01Which is awesome. I loved it, it was such a fun
- 30:03scene. I I love that.
- 30:04So that was probably my favorite moment of the whole movie.
- 30:07Yeah, I mean, it caught me so off guard when it happened cuz
- 30:10like all the humor was basically from Dwayne.
- 30:13Yes. And like when we get like a
- 30:15comedic scene between Dwayne or the killer and Carissa, like I
- 30:18just didn't see it coming. Especially whenever like oh,
- 30:21like that's how also it's weird how how they plan this out.
- 30:27Like how do you know that you're going to get them in the tub and
- 30:30be able to electrocute them like that?
- 30:33That was a very specific one for Carissa.
- 30:36Yeah, yeah, 'cause we had like, I wouldn't have thought that
- 30:40this house even had multiple bathrooms.
- 30:42I don't think it does because we've we just see that one
- 30:44bathroom the entire. Time.
- 30:45No, that was a different bathroom, was it?
- 30:47Yes, the the setup of it was different.
- 30:49The one that she's killed in a set up more like our our
- 30:51bathroom, whereas the one that everybody else is killed in the
- 30:55tub is behind the mirror. Yeah, you're right.
- 30:57You're right. Yeah.
- 30:58Huh. OK, interesting all.
- 31:00Right, if you want to know what our bathroom layout it's like.
- 31:02Now you know, Yeah, we'll send you the floor plan.
- 31:06OK. So let's rate it then.
- 31:09I think I'm gonna give this A6 OK.
- 31:12I think it's more good than bad. I think it's got very like to
- 31:15use HGTV Pylance. It's got very good bones.
- 31:18It does. Yeah.
- 31:19I'm going to give it a seven. OK.
- 31:21I honestly like this way more than I expected to.
- 31:24And I thought that it was really well done.
- 31:28Like, yeah, it's inspiring to see, like, a small indie film.
- 31:33Like I'm like I could do this. This is a person that I would
- 31:36love to see with a bigger budget.
- 31:38Yeah, for sure. Honestly and honestly, like the
- 31:40acting was pretty solid, yeah, all, all considered.
- 31:43I I honestly, because I looked up several of the cast members
- 31:47because I was like, I feel like I've seen them in other things.
- 31:49I haven't, but they're good enough for me to be like, yeah,
- 31:52where else have I seen them? Yeah, I want to see the rest of
- 31:55this. Yeah, for sure.
- 31:56And the other people? There yeah and I know I saw
- 31:59several of them are in a different movie.
- 32:01I cannot remember the name of it right now, but yeah, same team.
- 32:04I assume it has to be that. Usually when that happens it's.
- 32:07That's because it's a similar team.
- 32:08Yeah, cool. All right, so what's our?
- 32:116.5. Yeah, easy.
- 32:14Cool. Yeah.
- 32:16OK, let's get into it. Let's get into it.
- 32:21So we start off with Jerry carrying a very drunk Carissa
- 32:23home from the bar. She's upset the bouncer kicked
- 32:26her out because she was too drunk and it's still pretty
- 32:29early in the night. So Jerry gets her home and into
- 32:34bed and then she lays down and she was like, I'm too sober for
- 32:37this shit. Yeah, not before throwing up on
- 32:39her. Oh yeah.
- 32:41And she also threw up on the bouncer and then tried to make
- 32:43up on her make out with them. She's just like a vomiting.
- 32:46Girl. Yeah, this is Carissa, right?
- 32:48Yes, it is Carissa. So yeah, Jerry decides that
- 32:52she's going to go take a shower because she got thrown up.
- 32:54On Yeah, she She takes a swig from her flask first, because
- 32:58again, she got thrown up on. This also reminded me of the
- 33:03house mom from Black Christmas. Just like having like, alcohol
- 33:05stored throughout the house. Yeah.
- 33:07So she goes into the bathroom, takes a quick shower, and then
- 33:11when she gets back to her room, she's got her present waiting on
- 33:14her bed. And it's a power drill and it's
- 33:16a used power drill. So then she like goes back to
- 33:20the bathroom to do something. She grabs a straightener.
- 33:23Straightener. That's why she's gonna.
- 33:25Do she's gonna do her hair. And when she gets back, the
- 33:28president is gone. And she's like, this is weird.
- 33:31And so she steps out into the hallway and she goes, yeah, It
- 33:34is 10:00 PM on a Friday. I am sober.
- 33:36I've been thrown up on please stop messing with me.
- 33:39And somebody else pops out. I want to say this was Olivia.
- 33:42Yeah. OK.
- 33:43She's like, are you good? She goes, I just, are you
- 33:45messing with me? And she's like, no.
- 33:47And she's like, OK, I just. Whatever.
- 33:49It's a weird night. So she goes back into the room.
- 33:52And when she does, she gets pushed onto the bed, pillow
- 33:55cover, her face and then power drill right through it, which
- 33:58good to work on that power drill.
- 33:59It's quite also that means that it was well charged.
- 34:03Smart to put the pillow over the face to, like, press the scream.
- 34:06Yeah. Yeah.
- 34:07Really well done. So it is the next morning
- 34:11Chrissa is waking up confused about being home.
- 34:14Yeah, she's home. She's asleep on the floor.
- 34:17Everybody keeps saying she looks bad.
- 34:19I think she's still very beautiful.
- 34:21She is one of the prettier hungover people I've ever seen.
- 34:24She looks fine. Yeah.
- 34:26We get Nicole. She's doing her Cam girl work.
- 34:29Yeah. She's like got like a little
- 34:31like neon wig on and she's like doing all these poses and stuff
- 34:35and then she gets interrupted by Brian knocking at the door.
- 34:39They've got to go to class. And she scrambles.
- 34:42But she had. To have known it was almost
- 34:44class time. Well, yeah, but she she's
- 34:46keeping the secret from everybody, so she scrambles real
- 34:48quick. So I put herself together and
- 34:49then she gets out the door. And this is where we get to
- 34:53History four O 3 and we get a montage of the semester
- 34:57beforehand. So week 1, they're sitting
- 35:00there, their friend Dwayne comes and sits down and he's not
- 35:02taking notes. He's like, it's fine, he'll post
- 35:04the notes. Hold on a second, but if this
- 35:07was week 1. I think we're getting like a
- 35:11flashback throughout the semester.
- 35:14Oh. That is the impression I got.
- 35:17I didn't get that. That wasn't clear because I was
- 35:19thinking like, if that's the case, then the killer gave her a
- 35:21present back in, like, no. August No, I think we were
- 35:25getting a flashback, but I think they filmed all of the flashback
- 35:28scenes at the same time, so it's not super clear without the.
- 35:32OK. The title cart or Chiron's or
- 35:36whatever. That makes sense that that makes
- 35:38more sense for it to be flashbacks.
- 35:39Yeah, so week 1 he's not taking notes and he's just kicking
- 35:43back. Week 4 he is just late to class.
- 35:47Week 8 he is straight up asleep. Week 10 he doesn't even show up.
- 35:51Three days ago we see Dwayne set out a few lines of coke and
- 35:56prepare for a 72 hour cram session where he The fact that
- 36:02this is cumulative. It's a history class bro.
- 36:05So cumulative, if I remember right, is like it's over
- 36:08everything covered throughout the entire class, not just like
- 36:10the final lesson, right? Right.
- 36:12OK. Yeah, which is fairly common for
- 36:15finals, honestly. It's more rare for a final to be
- 36:19based off of the last unit than it is for it to be cumulative.
- 36:24Yeah, so, but usually with the cumulative, if you've been
- 36:28showing up to class, the questions are gonna be repeated
- 36:30from previous exams. True, that's yeah.
- 36:34So yeah, he's shit out of luck, Yeah.
- 36:37And he does a shit ton of drugs to stay awake.
- 36:39He pulls an all. Nighter.
- 36:41So for three nights in a row. Yeah, so he.
- 36:46He gets an alarm and it's time to go to the final.
- 36:49Then we cut to Olivia. She is ATA.
- 36:53She comes into the professor's office and she is flirting with
- 36:56him and he is into it because, oh, they've been secret dating.
- 37:00But they will be able to go public in just a few hours once
- 37:04the final is over. That's also an ugly for this.
- 37:07Movie. Yeah.
- 37:08I There was so much going on that I forgot about this
- 37:11storyline until just now. I like the tension that is
- 37:14throughout the movie with him being around the rest of them
- 37:17though it's. So real and the moments, this is
- 37:22another thing that we didn't really talk about.
- 37:24The moments when the friends are shocked by something and as soon
- 37:27as the person leaves the room, they all make, they're like, my
- 37:32God, that's so real to life where you're like, and then they
- 37:35leave the room and you're like. What?
- 37:39Yeah. Also they call him, like, old.
- 37:41And I'm like, man, he's probably younger than us, than us.
- 37:44And then I'm like, that tracks. Because I remember whenever I
- 37:46graduated college and I worked with the guy who said he was 23,
- 37:49I'm like, damn, he's old. Yeah, I was like 21 at the time.
- 37:53Yeah, it's really weird. Yeah, cuz the professor looked
- 37:56young. Yeah, obviously.
- 37:59He could have also been cast as one of just the friends.
- 38:01Yeah, for sure. And he's the professor of the
- 38:04class that Dwayne is taking. That wasn't super clear to me at
- 38:08first. Yeah, OK, so he goes because I
- 38:12had student knocks on the door to talk to him.
- 38:14And then, in the meantime, Olivia hangs back to work on
- 38:18grading some papers. And when she's looking for a
- 38:20stapler, she finds a gift in the drawer and she's about to peek
- 38:24when the phone rings and that interrupts her.
- 38:25It has the same wrapping as the killer, yes.
- 38:27Too. So Dwayne, Nicole and Brian are
- 38:31in Brian's car before the exam. Dwayne is not OK he's very
- 38:35jittery and shaky. Then they get they go to the
- 38:42class and they take their exam and he is before they tripping.
- 38:45Yeah, he's tripping hard. He's like looking at Nicole.
- 38:48Her eyes are getting gigantic and her face is distorted.
- 38:51Meanwhile, Brian gets a phone call and he goes to answer it
- 38:54and it's Carissa calling to wish him good luck on the exam.
- 38:59So you know, there's something there.
- 39:01He goes back and like, I was like, who?
- 39:02Oh, who was? I was like, oh, it was my mom.
- 39:04Wish me luck. Yeah, yeah.
- 39:07They take their tests and then they're done with class now.
- 39:10Olivia and Carissa are back at their shared rental house and
- 39:14they are arguing about the decor for the party cuz Olivia's like
- 39:18that wreath is off center. She goes no it's fine it was off
- 39:20center. Olivia was correct.
- 39:21It was very much off center. So apparently this is like a
- 39:26whole thing. Olivia is very much a
- 39:27perfectionist and Carissa likes to get drunk at 11:00 AM.
- 39:31So they do their their, they do their things.
- 39:33Yeah, meanwhile Dwayne, being exhausted from a 72 hour study
- 39:37session, goes back home to crash and burn.
- 39:40But. He looks like he's in a dorm.
- 39:42Yeah, he's in a dorm and. Then the fire alarm goes off and
- 39:45he starts crying and I I remember that from the college
- 39:49days. Uh huh.
- 39:50Yeah. Oh, your fraternity brothers
- 39:53kidnapping you? And I've been up until three
- 39:55writing a final paper. Oh man, yeah, I was.
- 39:58Like you all are the worst. Yeah, I remember.
- 40:03I was like, guys, this is like the fucking worst time to do
- 40:06this right here. Well.
- 40:07Then our friend was like, well they actually wanted you to do
- 40:09it right before you were formal. And I told them how much that
- 40:12was, grew up your formal and I was like, yes, it would have so.
- 40:15For anybody curious, I was legitimately kidnapped.
- 40:18Yeah, they put a sack over my head.
- 40:20I went willingly. They're like, hey, we need you
- 40:23to come back to the house for a second.
- 40:24We just need you. I'm like, oh, OK, fine.
- 40:26And then they're like, OK, I'm riding with them in the back
- 40:28seat and like, hey, we got to put this bag over your head.
- 40:31I went along with it and then they tied me up.
- 40:35Yeah, when I had to drive there, very dangerous again because it
- 40:39was 4 in the morning and I've been up writing a final paper.
- 40:43Yeah, so that's frat life. Yeah.
- 40:46Yeah. Greek life.
- 40:48So. OK, so he's like, yeah, he's
- 40:50gotta go. Nicole tries to confess to Brian
- 40:54about being a Cam girl. She's like, you know, I've, you
- 40:58know what happens when you get a lot of debt and stuff and he's
- 41:00like, oh, do you need money? She's like, no, no, but like
- 41:03and. Then he's like, I'll take you to
- 41:04student center, help you apply for loans and she's like.
- 41:07Never mind. Yeah, so she just gets dropped
- 41:10off instead. Yeah, she goes into her room and
- 41:14she starts doing a video and one of the viewers is like, hey,
- 41:17there's somebody in your window. When she turns around, she
- 41:19doesn't see anyone. She's like, I'm kicking you out
- 41:21of the chat, that guy's. Probably like what the fuck
- 41:23dude, I was helping you. But also like close your fucking
- 41:25blinds like. If you're gonna be doing like a
- 41:27Cam girl session, yeah, probably best to do that.
- 41:30Why give the goods away for free?
- 41:33Yeah, I guess. Yeah, that's the way to look at
- 41:35it. I mean, she's doing paid work
- 41:37right there, you know, and then having the window open, like,
- 41:41I'm not saying it from a prudish aspect, but from a purely
- 41:44business perspective and a safety perspective.
- 41:46Yeah, sure. And so Dwayne is freaking out at
- 41:52the Carolers because he's walking to their house to go
- 41:55sleep, but he's still tripping. And he grabs their bell and
- 42:00takes it because he thinks it's like a weapon or something.
- 42:03And he just like, slams it on the ground and stomps it.
- 42:05And then he like is he is so upset that he has dented up this
- 42:11little bell and they are so, so confused about what just
- 42:14happened. And then we cut to a shot of the
- 42:16killer rapping a cleaver. See, this is cool.
- 42:21I like the shot. I like like him just being
- 42:24there, wrapping these presents. I thought that that was a really
- 42:26cool setup right there. They tucked Dwayne into Jerry's
- 42:30bed 'cause she's not home yet. They're not sure where she is,
- 42:33but they're just, they're like, whatever, she'll show up in time
- 42:35for the party. So they tucked Dwayne into her
- 42:37bed so that way he can get a nap.
- 42:39Carissa goes to Brian's apartment and he's like, listen,
- 42:44the other night was a mistake. We shouldn't have done that.
- 42:46I love Nicole and she's like, wonder what Nicole would say if
- 42:52I told her about the other night.
- 42:53And he goes, I'll do anything, she has anything.
- 42:56And then it cuts to her with like a ton of shopping bags and
- 42:58an ice coat. Yeah.
- 43:00Like did they go back and then come back or something?
- 43:02I don't know. Yeah.
- 43:03That was the implication, I think.
- 43:05Yeah, he probably didn't have the the licensing to be able to
- 43:08film in a mall. Oh, surely.
- 43:10Yeah. All right, So back at the House
- 43:12of the girls, the Olivia interrupts Nicole's camp session
- 43:18and she sees all of the fruits that she has had on her bed and
- 43:23then she takes them to the kitchen and she juices them and
- 43:27she drinks them right in front of Nicole and Nicole does not
- 43:29say a single thing about it. Dwayne rolls off the bed, and
- 43:34when he opens his eyes, he sees Jerry's body and kind of falls
- 43:39back asleep. And Nicole goes in to check on
- 43:41him and he's like, no, no, no. But Jerry's under the bed and
- 43:44she's missing an eye and she was like, oh, you're still tripping
- 43:46real hard. He goes no, no, no, it's real.
- 43:48And when she peeks down there, nothing's there.
- 43:51How did the killer move the body with everybody in the room?
- 43:55I That's a very good question. I couldn't.
- 43:59I was just thinking about it the entire time.
- 44:01I was like, how did this happen? Blood stain?
- 44:03Snow blood stain? No, there should have been blood
- 44:05stain. Listen, Jerry dies, but Jerry
- 44:08doesn't bleed. I guess pizza arrives and he as
- 44:16he's leaving he sees the prowler outside the window and he does
- 44:19try and scare him off, but when the guy runs he doesn't chase
- 44:22him because whatever he doesn't get paid enough for that and
- 44:24whatever he like, he feels like he did the right thing.
- 44:26He's. Good.
- 44:26They were also rude to him because when he was delivering
- 44:29pizzas, like. Because Nicole answers the door.
- 44:31He's like, I think I recognize you from somewhere.
- 44:33She's like, oh, I've just got that face and, like slams the
- 44:34door. Yeah.
- 44:35And he's pissed off. He's like calls her a bitch and.
- 44:38The implication is definitely that he watches.
- 44:40Her. Yeah, He's a Cam.
- 44:41Yeah, he's a Cam watcher. Yeah.
- 44:43So like, after, like, chasing that guy off because, like, the
- 44:46killer, we saw a POV shot of him watching them from inside, like
- 44:50from outside the window. And he, like, watched the pizza
- 44:53being delivered. So the pizza driver goes back
- 44:56into his car, gets in the driver's seat, and before he's
- 44:59about to drive off, the killer comes out from behind him in the
- 45:01back. Seat on the back seat.
- 45:02Yeah, and slits his throat. So Brian arrives for the party
- 45:07and Olivia sets a hot pan of snacks on a glass coffee table.
- 45:14No, no. Yeah, that that really got you
- 45:18riled up last. Night because you can't do shit
- 45:21like that. That's how you damage your
- 45:23furniture and create a mess. That's like when we went to our
- 45:25friend's house and he. The Pyrex shattered.
- 45:28Yeah, he was making food and then he got the Pyrex, set it on
- 45:31top of the stove and it fucking exploded.
- 45:35And that's how. You get bloody macaroni and
- 45:37cheese. I am not shitting you guys.
- 45:41It was a fucking grenade. The glass shot everywhere, right
- 45:45next to us. It hit people.
- 45:47People were bleeding. We got served macaroni grenade,
- 45:54Yeah. So yeah, don't do that, man.
- 45:58We're going into weird. Stories today.
- 46:01I thought the snacks were gross. So everybody disposes of them.
- 46:05So that way you know, cuz they're like, you know, Olivia,
- 46:08she'll make us eat all of them and she sees that they're all
- 46:10eating and she goes, cool, I'll go make some more.
- 46:12What if they were nasty because Nicole was shoving them all over
- 46:15her body? They looked like little puff
- 46:18pastries or something, I don't know.
- 46:21I don't know, it could have been used from the material, Yeah.
- 46:24So anyways. Professor Ramsey arrives, yes,
- 46:29although we can call him Preston now.
- 46:31And they go public. And I was like, OK, cool,
- 46:35congratulations. And he's like, guys, just treat
- 46:39me like I'm one of you. It's cool.
- 46:41The semester's over. This guy he like he he's there
- 46:46for Olivia. He doesn't really want to be
- 46:47there no, and she's like it's cool.
- 46:49You'll blend in and he wants to blend in, I think, but he does
- 46:52such a terrible he's so he's. A sweet jacket and a sweater
- 46:56vest. But he's also he doesn't treat
- 46:58them like people. At one point he even like says
- 47:01something about somebody's final essay and like, don't.
- 47:04You're just reminding them that you're their professor.
- 47:07Yeah, one dude just, like, taps his shoulder too, and he's like,
- 47:09don't do that. I mean, it's fun to have your
- 47:11boundaries, but like, I don't know, he's very standoffish.
- 47:13Well, cuz somebody was saying it's the jacket, isn't it?
- 47:15Where'd you get it? And he said it was a gift and it
- 47:17was very expensive. So when they tapped his shoulder
- 47:19he's like don't do that still cuz of the jacket.
- 47:21Still, that's not how you get yourself into a friend group.
- 47:25We see the bag of presents under the tree get swapped out by a
- 47:28gloved hand with a different bag, so we also see the prowler
- 47:33in the house. Also, Jerry has texted saying
- 47:36that she's not gonna be there. She's sorry, but she had a
- 47:39family member pass, so she had to go.
- 47:41Yeah, see. And they're all like.
- 47:43And then that's it. That's the end of Jerry's story.
- 47:44Yeah, so we see the prowler in the house and he sniffing
- 47:50Nicole's underwear and it's gross.
- 47:53They start passing out gifts and Brian gets a cleaver and it is
- 47:58kind of a buzz killing moment. And everybody kind of branches
- 48:02off and Olivia's upset. She's like, this is our first
- 48:04gift and. It's so, like, it's so funny how
- 48:07many times they try to stop, like they, they try to do this
- 48:11and they stop and just like take breaks like after every single
- 48:13present. Dude, it is a Secret Santa.
- 48:16Just fucking go through it. Yeah, So Nicole takes the
- 48:20opportunity to just like, get Brian by himself and finally
- 48:23come queen about what she wants to do with herself.
- 48:26And he is kind of in shock and he's like, I need a minute.
- 48:33So he goes outside and Krista joins, and he kind of like,
- 48:38let's it all spill. Like he's like, Oh yeah, my
- 48:40girlfriend's a porn star. And Chris is like, what?
- 48:43I'm going to say this is probably the best acted and
- 48:46edited scene in the entire movie.
- 48:47Whenever I saw this, I was like, oh, this is like really, really
- 48:50hidden right here. They did a good job in this
- 48:52moment. So she tries to come on to him
- 48:55because she thinks that he's available now, but he still
- 48:59denies her. And he goes back upstairs and
- 49:03he's like, listen, I don't, I'm not going to say that I get it
- 49:09or that I understand, but if this makes you happy, I will be
- 49:12your manager and. He's got a not really, but he's
- 49:17just wanting to get a peep at her.
- 49:19Yeah, her outfits and stuff like that before you show.
- 49:22So we get back to Secret Santa and Carissa gets an old hair
- 49:26dryer, Dwayne gets some gardening shears, and Liv gets
- 49:29an electric Carver. We cut to seeing the prowler and
- 49:34he is killed. And then the carolers come to
- 49:39the house and Carissa at first is like college student can't
- 49:45tip you. And Nicole's like, wait, hold
- 49:46on. No, I wanna, I wanna listen.
- 49:49Sorry, my roommate's rude. And then she like cheers.
- 49:51But she also doesn't tip cuz she's like.
- 49:53Yeah, she's like, sorry, I'm a college student.
- 49:55Just like closes the door on them.
- 49:57And that's funny. Carissa is annoyed seeing Nicole
- 50:01and Brian be all lovey dovey, so she hits on Dwayne and Dwayne is
- 50:05like absolutely yes, let's go do this.
- 50:08In the kitchen. Preston gives Olivia his gift to
- 50:11her, which is a snow globe and it's cute and seems fitting for
- 50:17a new relationship. And then she goes look what I
- 50:20got. Betcha.
- 50:22Yeah, everybody else's gifts sucked.
- 50:24I got a snow globe. Y'all got used tools and I got a
- 50:28snow globe. Suck it, bitches.
- 50:32So she's like, OK, nature calls. So she goes into the bathroom
- 50:37and also Dwayne can't get it up. Yeah.
- 50:40So Carissa leaves him. He was on a lot of trucks.
- 50:43Yeah, they've been drinking since I got.
- 50:44He was super, super intoxicated on many, many substances.
- 50:48So she leaves him while Olivia's in the bathroom.
- 50:52The killer also is in the shower, takes the electric
- 50:55Carver and carves her stomach. Yep, So she's she dead?
- 50:58She seems like potential for a final girl, but.
- 51:02Yeah, I was. I was shocked to see her go so
- 51:04soon. Yeah, Carissa goes to the
- 51:07bathroom so she can take a bath. We cut to the living room and
- 51:13it's like awkward small talk between Preston and Nicole and
- 51:16Brian eventually joins in and like, it's very much a like I'm
- 51:21meeting my partners friends for the first time and they left the
- 51:24room and oh, God, what are we going to talk about?
- 51:26With an added extra layer of these?
- 51:28We're my students earlier this morning.
- 51:30Yeah. So and Nicole was the only one
- 51:33to not open her present. So the professor keeps
- 51:35encouraging her to open the present.
- 51:37She's like, I want to wait for everybody to be.
- 51:38Around the way he says it, he's like, why don't you open your
- 51:41present? Hey, Nicole.
- 51:42It's yeah, it's that he does it in a very creepy way.
- 51:45Look at. That present right there.
- 51:46Don't you want to just RIP it over?
- 51:48It's also like they make a joke about something unrelated, like
- 51:51she tries to move the the conversations like so answer or
- 51:56open a present. You just laugh like Tommy was.
- 51:58Oh. Great story, Mark.
- 52:02Did you get the promotion? Nah.
- 52:07That's just what a pizza Dave you think.
- 52:14That's another Christmas movie. It is for us at least.
- 52:18Somehow it became a Christmas movie.
- 52:20I'm not mad about it. Okay, all right, so anyways,
- 52:24while all of this is going down, Dwayne finally gets an erection.
- 52:28Yeah, and then just in time, the killer comes in there, takes the
- 52:31garden shears and snips it. I was not prepared to see peen.
- 52:36I was not either, but not real peen.
- 52:38It's a it's a fake peen that gets.
- 52:40Snitched. Yeah.
- 52:41Well, yeah, it's prop peen. But I'm still I'm always
- 52:44grateful when movies will go there.
- 52:46Yeah, I mean, we got female nudity with the showers and
- 52:49stuff in this so. Equal rides, equal sites, yeah.
- 52:52So yeah, he's dead. The killer then enters the
- 52:56bathroom where Chris is taking a bath.
- 52:58And then she's it's like she thinks it's Dwayne trying to get
- 53:03sex still. And then the killer just goes
- 53:05over there, gets the hair dryer, plugs it in, takes it, and then
- 53:09tosses it towards the top, but the cord's too short and it just
- 53:12flops in the ground. I like the cord is too short and
- 53:14also it unplugs from the wall so.
- 53:17It's just like the whole thing. Just flatters down.
- 53:20Yeah. And then it's just like an
- 53:21awkward moment where they're just like making eye contact and
- 53:24then she freaks out. And then the killer takes the
- 53:26hair dryer and just starts bludgeoning her with it.
- 53:29Yeah, and Nicole hears the screams, but she thinks it's
- 53:31just really loud sex. Yeah.
- 53:34So Preston and Brian go around the house looking for Olivia.
- 53:38Nicole is also helping them. Brian ends up finding Olivia's
- 53:43body in the bathroom, and Nicole and Brian hear him.
- 53:47Preston. Yeah.
- 53:49Why did I write Brian? Oh no.
- 53:51Yeah, he he goes into the bathroom and he finds her.
- 53:54So they come running because they hear him scream, but they
- 53:56see him holding the Carver over top of Olivia's dead body.
- 54:00Listen, people finding loved ones dead in movies, stop
- 54:05grabbing the weapons. It's just like pieces.
- 54:07It's always going to make you look suspicious.
- 54:09And you're putting your DNA on the Yeah.
- 54:11You are. You are tarnishing the crime
- 54:14scene. Yeah.
- 54:15Now they're never going to find who killed Olivia.
- 54:17Good job, Preston. So Brian and Nicole think that
- 54:20he's the killer, so they run to the car to go drive off.
- 54:23But Nicole sees a bloody knife in Brian's front seat, so she
- 54:28thinks he's the killer. So she runs inside, locks him
- 54:31out, and then she's watching from outside or from inside out
- 54:35the window. Brian's pleading to be let in,
- 54:37but the killer pounces on him and kills him.
- 54:39Yeah. Chops his head off.
- 54:41With the cleaver. With the cleaver, yeah.
- 54:43So they all all the knives are gone from the kitchen.
- 54:50The kitchen, Yeah. So what she has is a fork and
- 54:53the fireplace poker. You know that's all you need
- 54:55sometimes. And honestly, the poker, I think
- 54:58it's a pretty good weapon. It's a really solid.
- 55:00Those are those are wrought iron.
- 55:01Yeah, they're pointy. They normally have like the one
- 55:05point and then also the the hooky point.
- 55:07Yeah, you can stab, you can whack, you can swamp.
- 55:12There's so many things you can do with one.
- 55:14You can poke, you can. Poke.
- 55:16Yeah, yeah. You can agitate, you can
- 55:19motivate. If you hold it in the fire for
- 55:23long enough, you can eventually brand.
- 55:25Yeah, yeah. So it's such.
- 55:27It's like the perfect one. Yeah.
- 55:29Honestly people should be using them more often anyways.
- 55:32The killer comes in and she gets one of them.
- 55:37She stabs a killer. With the fire poker through the
- 55:40tongue, tongue and. Then another one comes out and
- 55:42then grabs her. And then Preston appears and a
- 55:46third killer comes up and stabs him in the neck with a
- 55:48screwdriver. Yes.
- 55:49So we've got the three killers, two of them tie her up, and God,
- 55:55I was messing up on all of these names.
- 55:57Last night, yeah. It gets confusing.
- 55:59The killer takes the screwdriver and gets pressed and.
- 56:01And that's when all the killers show up after that.
- 56:03And then she wakes up after being knocked out.
- 56:07And this is when the killer starts going on about all the
- 56:11reasons why Christmas ruined. Him.
- 56:15Him. Yeah.
- 56:17And we don't get anything from the other two.
- 56:19No, the old lady says that she just is really good at chopping
- 56:24up bodies and she's also a psychopath, so that's having.
- 56:27Fun. Yeah.
- 56:27OK, what about May? May.
- 56:30So we don't. Get yeah, she's pissed that
- 56:32she's been stabbed and they're like shut up, I need to do my
- 56:34bad guy monologue. And she bleeds out by the time
- 56:36he's done. Yeah, and it's like shots of the
- 56:39kitchen stuff clock and it's been 2 hours.
- 56:42And then whenever Clay is done spewing on about this stuff,
- 56:46she's like, that's it. I couldn't have gotten the Cliff
- 56:48Notes version of this. You went on for two hours about
- 56:51how you had bad Christmases. That's.
- 56:54It she's got a point so she manages to get free and she
- 56:59stabs the older lady and then runs from Clay.
- 57:03Was that his name? She runs and they end up
- 57:06fighting and she stabs him and he's like, you haven't sure who
- 57:11left me and he's got like the stage blood pouring out of his
- 57:14mouth. Yeah, yeah.
- 57:16And the cops are coming. I guess the cops have heard this
- 57:19commotion. Maybe somebody saw Brian get
- 57:21decapitated. Hopefully.
- 57:23I would hope so, yeah. Jesus.
- 57:26So and it's one year later. Yeah, one year.
- 57:29Later, a friend is dropping Nicole off at her house and she
- 57:36is going in. She's getting ready to do do
- 57:38some work. She's still doing the Cam work.
- 57:41And we see Clay climb in and he watches her sitting at her
- 57:45computer and she's like thanking people for the tips and whatnot.
- 57:48And then he goes up and stabs her in the head.
- 57:51Except actually it's a blow up doll that she said out there,
- 57:54which I have a few questions about the logistics of this.
- 57:58Did she have a recording of her voice thanking people such as
- 58:02Dusty Taint Dangler? I have a theory that she may
- 58:06have taken an old show that she did and started playing that and
- 58:11had a Word file on her computer that just says gotcha, gotcha.
- 58:15Yeah. Also there was a moment whenever
- 58:18I saw this where he stabbed the blow up doll that I thought part
- 58:22of this is like another bag of oranges still where she's been a
- 58:25blow up doll this entire movie. Oh my God, that would have been
- 58:28fucking hilarious. Yeah, like he just like he this
- 58:31has been in the killer's head and he's just been killing like
- 58:34inanimate objects. And then he finally gets the.
- 58:36Blow up doll. The reverse of that, that famous
- 58:39YouTube short of the the guy who runs over the mannequin and it's
- 58:45just like mannequins all over the town.
- 58:47Yeah, he's freaking out and he's fighting them and he's killing
- 58:49them. And then we discovered that it's
- 58:51been real people the whole the whole time, Dude.
- 58:52Maybe that's but it's like the reverse of it.
- 58:54Maybe we should make. This.
- 58:55We should make it. We should make it.
- 58:57Yeah, we'll make it. OK baby, are we doing this?
- 58:59We're doing this. Oh my God, it's it's getting
- 59:00done. Anyways, she cuts off his head
- 59:03with her chainsaw, which is her present.
- 59:05That was her present? Yeah, Yeah.
- 59:07Thank God she got away because I think out of all the ways to
- 59:09die, chainsaws freaked me out. She got the best present.
- 59:13Yeah, honestly. Like if I'm gifted a chainsaw.
- 59:15And hers actually should new. It did, yeah.
- 59:18She was the only one that got like a tetanus free power tool.
- 59:22Maybe she was special, Maybe, who knows?
- 59:25Anyway, that's it. Yeah, that's how the movie ends.
- 59:28Yeah. So, All right, cool.
- 59:31What do you rate this thing? I think I will bump it to a 6.5.
- 59:35Cool. OK, I think 7 is still
- 59:38appropriate for this. OK, so our average went up to
- 59:416.75, which I think is good. I think, yeah, if we just had
- 59:45slightly tighter editing, I think this would definitely bump
- 59:47it up to like A7, maybe even a 7.5 for me.
- 59:50I think so too. I think it would really benefit
- 59:52from another pass at that, but honestly just from the resources
- 59:58they had, this is a really well made movie.
- 1:00:01I feel like I like this movie a lot.
- 1:00:03Yeah, I want to check out his other work because if this is
- 1:00:07the type of stuff he's put now I want, I want to consume more of
- 1:00:10what he makes. Yeah, for sure.
- 1:00:12OK, So who did you relate to? Oh Olivia, I would be so fucking
- 1:00:16frustrated sitting there trying to host a party.
- 1:00:19Keep Secret Santa going. Like guys, come on, follow the
- 1:00:22rules. Let's keep this neat and
- 1:00:23orderly. I'm not super fun at parties
- 1:00:25but. OK, who do I relate to?
- 1:00:36I'll say the professor, because sometimes I have a hard time
- 1:00:40relating to new people. OK, I have a tough time
- 1:00:43integrating myself into other circles.
- 1:00:46And you were just saying last night that you no longer relate
- 1:00:49to kids when you were trying to figure out presents for our
- 1:00:51nephews. I was just trying.
- 1:00:53I was putting myself in his feet and I'm like, I can't imagine,
- 1:00:57like trying to be friends with freshly graduated college kids.
- 1:01:02Like, I can't. Like what do I relate about?
- 1:01:04Yeah. They don't like, what do I talk
- 1:01:07about? I like it's it's finally
- 1:01:10happened. I'm at that point now where I'm
- 1:01:11like shit, like I, I'm out of touch.
- 1:01:14Yeah, we're we're in a new phase of our life.
- 1:01:18I can talk to them maybe about like the the usefulness of
- 1:01:22firefokers. So skibbity toilet.
- 1:01:27I really know what that is. I've heard people talk about it,
- 1:01:30but like people apparently it's great.
- 1:01:32So don't ask me any follow up questions, but Skivity toilet,
- 1:01:35yeah. I'm not going to be that person.
- 1:01:39OK, let's see. Dream sequel.
- 1:01:42Do we? Do we do scouts?
- 1:01:44Favorite part? We usually do dream sequel
- 1:01:47first. OK, well, a dream sequel then,
- 1:01:50all right. I mean, what if?
- 1:02:06She's like, what if she becomes a killer now?
- 1:02:09Yeah, I was gonna say, what if she becomes like kind of twisted
- 1:02:12from this experience and it's kind of like what we were
- 1:02:15saying, like she can't tell the difference between real people
- 1:02:18and like mannequins or blow up dolls and fake things and.
- 1:02:23It could be kind of similar to the Cam movie.
- 1:02:27I I want it to still be a Christmas movie.
- 1:02:28If you started a movie on Christmas, you got to keep it on
- 1:02:31Christmas. I'm sorry, like you can't, you
- 1:02:33can't switch holidays. You you could progress through
- 1:02:35the holidays. So I go to New Year's.
- 1:02:39Why not? I don't know.
- 1:02:44I guess you could do that same same week or for like time jump.
- 1:02:51So like same week as like her killing.
- 1:02:55Are we are we like doing an immediate sequel or are we doing
- 1:02:57like a one year later do? I say we have like a jump
- 1:03:01throughout the whole year like. That's like someone not doing it
- 1:03:07too, like, oh, we're getting like summer now.
- 1:03:09But no, like I'm thinking more like holiday.
- 1:03:11We're like, we see the year, but through the lenses of different
- 1:03:14holidays. And maybe it's like a spy versus
- 1:03:16spy and it's her and say the old lady killer didn't actually die
- 1:03:21that night. If that's what you want, I
- 1:03:26wanted to stay around the holidays.
- 1:03:28Well then, give me an interesting premise.
- 1:03:30An interesting premise. Yeah.
- 1:03:32OK, so let's just. I'm gonna.
- 1:03:39We're going for phone recommending next word after I
- 1:03:43just typed the word mode right here.
- 1:03:45I'm just like, gonna be pulling words.
- 1:03:46Out yeah cuz we're not editing this so we can't have the.
- 1:03:48Dead air we normally have. Where we're trying to come up
- 1:03:50with stuff. Stream of conscious sequel pitch
- 1:03:54right here, so Nicole opens up her laptop.
- 1:04:00You sound like you were doing a one person version of that
- 1:04:03improv game where like one person says a word and the next
- 1:04:06person says a. Word you got?
- 1:04:07It's got to be a whole flow here.
- 1:04:09You can't interrupt my flow, OK? Nicole opens up her laptop and
- 1:04:17she has another person mention that there is somebody looking
- 1:04:23from outside the window. Except this time she turns
- 1:04:28around and actually sees somebody and it's a blow up
- 1:04:32doll. So she goes outside to
- 1:04:35investigate and nobody is there. So she then goes back inside and
- 1:04:43sees the blow up doll on her bed with a Christmas present and she
- 1:04:50opens up the Christmas present and it's a fruit and it she
- 1:04:59looks at the from tag and it's from Olivia and she has a
- 1:05:07flashback to when Olivia drank the sex fruit juice.
- 1:05:14And now she has to be on the lookout for Olivia out there,
- 1:05:25maybe getting revenge for drinking sex juice.
- 1:05:31So now she thinks. Stop the premise there because
- 1:05:34if you say sex juice, one more. Time leaving.
- 1:05:37Olivia is gonna be she's gonna have somebody on the chat as
- 1:05:40Olivia, OK, it's gonna have an Olivia type name and then maybe
- 1:05:44she has like she has to be like looking over her shoulder.
- 1:05:48She thinks somebody's there. Maybe it's like people, like
- 1:05:51people in the chat are the names from like her friends that died
- 1:05:54that year. So it's like somebody that was
- 1:05:56knows of the events that is trying to mock her for like
- 1:05:59being around being the sole survivor of that murder.
- 1:06:03Maybe it's a copycat killer and they're targeting her.
- 1:06:07OK, I like that. I got there.
- 1:06:10There we go, we did it. Now, what was Scott's favorite
- 1:06:13part of the movie? I would say when the hair dryer
- 1:06:22was thrown because it's hot bath, she likes bath time.
- 1:06:27She likes being in a bath for one, but she also likes it when
- 1:06:30people are in bathrooms taking baths because the heat generated
- 1:06:35and also a boy dryer generates heat.
- 1:06:37So she liked all of the things cooking right there.
- 1:06:39Clothes. But no, obviously her favorite
- 1:06:43part is in the very beginning when Jerry gets out of the bath,
- 1:06:46and then she could go in there and enjoy the residual heat and
- 1:06:50the. Moisture.
- 1:06:51Yeah, and see if she had any oils, like body oils in the tub.
- 1:06:56Exactly. Yeah, OK, sure, that works.
- 1:06:59All right, do you have reviews for us?
- 1:07:03I do, I got 2 reviews. If you had said no, I would have
- 1:07:06been very upset, Yeah, kind of a whole thing.
- 1:07:08Yeah. So with our to be or not to be
- 1:07:11as we pull to a positive and a negative since we don't do user
- 1:07:15or listener reviews. So we'll start off, do we start
- 1:07:19off with the good or the bad? It doesn't matter.
- 1:07:22Let's do good first, because that's the first one I have.
- 1:07:24That's a 10 out of 10. Great cheesy low budget horror
- 1:07:27flick that brings up the grindhouse nostalgia.
- 1:07:31I'm always looking to buy new Christmas horror flicks.
- 1:07:33I saw the trailer to this on YouTube and was very intrigued.
- 1:07:36I watched it today and was pretty pleased with it.
- 1:07:38I love the gore and death scenes and the scratchy film look this
- 1:07:41movie has the whole time. Like crying house planet terror.
- 1:07:44It will really put you in mind of the so bad it's good 1980s
- 1:07:47horror slasher movies. It really did remind me of that.
- 1:07:50It starts off slow, then gets better.
- 1:07:52During the middle of the movie, some college friends get
- 1:07:54together for a Christmas party. They each receive a hatchet, an
- 1:07:57electric knife, a chainsaw, and other weapons.
- 1:07:59Slowly, the mass killer uses these weapons to kill the person
- 1:08:02that opened it. The killer has the most
- 1:08:03hilarious and random reasoning for killing people I've ever
- 1:08:06seen. Hopefully this will become a
- 1:08:08cult classic to watch around Christmas.
- 1:08:10How you recommend Secret Santa? All right, I think those are all
- 1:08:13the same points that we brought up with the episode.
- 1:08:16Except we didn't really think that it was.
- 1:08:18The killer reveal was super hilarious.
- 1:08:22I think that was the only thing I disagree with on here.
- 1:08:24I said that I saw how it was meant to be funny.
- 1:08:27I could see where they were coming from.
- 1:08:28Yeah. It just didn't weigh in for me.
- 1:08:30But yeah, I I kind of agree with all, like pretty much everything
- 1:08:33that they said that you're right, we did cover all that.
- 1:08:35So I guess let's move on over to the bad, OK?
- 1:08:38It's a four out of 10 indie Yuletide horrors.
- 1:08:42Secret Santa is another in the overcrowded market of indie
- 1:08:46horrors with a yuletide setting. This is like the exact opposite
- 1:08:49of the last person. Yeah.
- 1:08:51This one suffers from typically underwhelming writing and bad
- 1:08:54acting, but the rest isn't too bad as genre standards go.
- 1:08:58It's one of those wannabe grindhouse productions with fake
- 1:09:01print damage, but the 1980s era looking film stock makes it look
- 1:09:05pretty good. I also appreciate that the music
- 1:09:07is nice and the creepy, oh, nice and creepy and provides a neat
- 1:09:11bash backdrop for the otherwise overly familiar action.
- 1:09:15So here's the thing. There weren't a lot of really
- 1:09:17bad reviews for this movie out there because.
- 1:09:19It's honestly it's a pretty solid movie.
- 1:09:22It just made another pass with the editing.
- 1:09:24Yeah, I agree. And if it was bad, it was like a
- 1:09:26way too long review where people were like rambling about stuff.
- 1:09:29But that right there, I feel, you know, some people may not.
- 1:09:34They may be too lacking in certain areas for some people's
- 1:09:39stays. I don't know If you can
- 1:09:40appreciate some good indie horror, I feel like you'd
- 1:09:43actually really enjoy this movie.
- 1:09:44OK, so that brings. Us to our articular question.
- 1:09:48Yeah, to be or not to be, and absolutely, absolutely.
- 1:09:52I actually would like to watch this again.
- 1:09:56I would buy the DVD from Vinegar Syndrome.
- 1:09:59I want to say yeah, like if they if this got a release, I would
- 1:10:02buy it for sure. And I would tell at least all of
- 1:10:07our friends, because we know their sensibilities.
- 1:10:09I would tell them to go watch this.
- 1:10:10Our discord chat is like currently like this is the
- 1:10:13Christmas movie I'm watching today.
- 1:10:14I want to throw this in there and be like you guys need to
- 1:10:16watch. This Yeah, Watch this.
- 1:10:18We should. Let's do that.
- 1:10:19Do it now. We need to have a discord for
- 1:10:20our show. No, I don't want to moderate
- 1:10:22that. You don't want to.
- 1:10:23I don't want. To do that, no.
- 1:10:24I just, I don't, I'm not comfortable enough with discord
- 1:10:27yet. That's true.
- 1:10:28We're very fresh with that, yeah.
- 1:10:30I I don't, I don't want to open ourselves up to that.

- 1:12:06Share this episode. Peek in our window, Don't.
- 1:12:09Do that, don't do that, but you can just be really nice and tell
- 1:12:14people about this. Snap Travis's underwear.
- 1:12:16You can do that. It's OK whenever we'll go to
- 1:12:21another story and we had friends over one time and Talia took my
- 1:12:24underwear out and brought it out for everybody to see so.
- 1:12:26Well, what happened was it was like he had done laundry and it
- 1:12:30was on the brink of being too torn up anyway.
- 1:12:32And when it came out of the dryer, he was like, Nope, too
- 1:12:35torn. And he went to throw it away and
- 1:12:36Talia stole it from him and he tried to take it back.
- 1:12:40I was like, just let her have it.
- 1:12:42It's a toy. You just washed it so it's
- 1:12:44clean. People are going to criticize,
- 1:12:46call me a hypocrite about the sex juice stuff, and then Talia
- 1:12:51takes my underwear and they're. Implying that you have sex juice
- 1:12:53all over your underwear. OK.
- 1:12:55I just said it just came out of the.
- 1:12:57Yeah, yeah. It's it was clean.
- 1:12:58Everybody was clean. And then our friends came over
- 1:13:03that night and Talia does this thing where she digs through her
- 1:13:06toy basket to find the perfect toy.
- 1:13:07And what does she bring? Our friend Travis is a boxer.
- 1:13:10Yeah, yeah, that's a good one to end it on.
- 1:13:13Everybody all right, We'll see you on Thursday with it's a
- 1:13:16wonderful night. Yeah, OK.
- 1:13:18Bye. See you.
