- 0:01Speaker 1: Here's your host, Alex Garrett. Well, I feel like this
- 0:07Speaker 1: needs to be said. The Nepalese floods that actually have
- 0:12Speaker 1: caused 90 Americans to go missing and a death toll
- 0:17Speaker 1: over 500, that catastrophe should overcome what's going to happen
- 0:26Speaker 1: in the Clancy tribe. I'm not saying the Clancy trial
- 0:30Speaker 1: isn't real life because that's very real life. But what
- 0:35Speaker 1: I am saying is these floods are horrible and I'm
- 0:40Speaker 1: here at One Look Up Alex Media to say don't
- 0:42Speaker 1: take your eye off this flooding and trying to see
- 0:46Speaker 1: where you can help. Rescue efforts resume after newly formed
- 0:52Speaker 1: lake threatens the efforts. Uh, Chinese officials saying rescue efforts
- 1:02Speaker 1: reach critical stage I mean this is dangerous because it's
- 1:17Speaker 1: something that isn't in America so why should we care
- 1:26Speaker 1: but we should Not only because 90 of our brethren
- 1:29Speaker 1: is there, but because it's a natural disaster. Taking your
- 1:37Speaker 1: eye off of the Nepalese floods for, and I'm sorry,
- 1:42Speaker 1: it's become a sensationalist case up in Massachusetts. The reality
- 1:47Speaker 1: of it seems to be distorted and twisted and turned
- 1:51Speaker 1: around and really we want the jury to come out
- 1:55Speaker 1: with a verdict. But I guarantee you there's about one, two, three, four, five,
- 2:00Speaker 1: six stories about these floods in Nepal. I guarantee you
- 2:05Speaker 1: there will be about 20 different angles on this Clancy
- 2:07Speaker 1: trial and everybody reacting and all the verdicts and it's
- 2:11Speaker 1: going to be a game changer one way or the other.
- 2:15Speaker 1: But let's not let that interfere with the fact that
- 2:19Speaker 1: real people are really– In trouble. I don't know much
- 2:30Speaker 1: of Nepal. Or about Nepal. Or Tibet. But I do
- 2:38Speaker 1: know that when you see these. Floods. And the massive
- 2:42Speaker 1: amount of flooding. That's been hitting their. Land. And all
- 2:49Speaker 1: the missing. How can you not. Care about that. In
- 2:57Speaker 1: addition to the Clancy trial. Flood survivor tells Fox News.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Water is carried away in an entire village. Maybe the
- 3:10Speaker 1: outlets are covering it. But I guarantee you. I guarantee
- 3:15Speaker 1: you the Clancy trial verdict will be. By the way
- 3:18Speaker 1: 2000 plus missing. Will absolutely be. About. This verdict. All
- 3:28Speaker 1: eyes are literally peeled on that verdict. I can feel it.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I can feel it. But I'm going to drop some
- 3:38Speaker 1: resources here where you can help in this horrible time.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Today's show saying that the State Department releasing a statement
- 3:55Speaker 1: today on August 26th saying Nepal And the U.S. Embassy
- 4:00Speaker 1: is working to account for U.S. citizens who may have
- 4:02Speaker 1: been affected. I think they said 90 are missing. Here
- 4:06Speaker 1: are the ways to help, according to Today Show. World
- 4:09Speaker 1: Central Kitchen. Red Cross. Global Giving. UNICEF, although the U.N.
- 4:16Speaker 1: needs to be fixed up. But UNICEF is always there
- 4:19Speaker 1: on the scene to support during devastation. And so those
- 4:23Speaker 1: are a few resources. World Central Kitchen is a food
- 4:28Speaker 1: relief nonprofit. Red Cross is, of course, the International Federation
- 4:34Speaker 1: of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. And then Global
- 4:44Speaker 1: Giving started in 2002. Global Giving says it supports other
- 4:48Speaker 1: nonprofits by connecting them to donors and companies. So please.
- 4:54Speaker 1: We're all awaiting, we're all awaiting this trial deliberation, this
- 5:00Speaker 1: jury deliberation to be complete and a verdict handed down.
- 5:03Speaker 1: But you know what? You know what? This matters too.
- 5:10Speaker 1: That's why I'm putting it up on One Leg Up
- 5:12Speaker 1: Alex News. That's why I'm putting it on the main page,
- 5:15Speaker 1: on the main vein of this podcast. This matters too.
- 5:22Speaker 1: And I issue this warning because this trial, as I
- 5:30Speaker 1: said a little while ago, has become so sensationalist. This
- 5:33Speaker 1: is not sensational. This is real life impacting dozens and
- 5:37Speaker 1: killing hundreds. And we're going to turn a blind eye
- 5:41Speaker 1: because some TikTok mom is going to disagree with this
- 5:47Speaker 1: if it goes against Lindsay Clancy. No. No. I'm sorry
- 5:55Speaker 1: to put it that way. But. If this was not.
- 6:01Speaker 1: A sensationalized trial. And it feels like. Almost a circus
- 6:06Speaker 1: at times. The way they're talking about it. Then I'd
- 6:12Speaker 1: say yes. And believe me. The Clancy verdict is important.
- 6:16Speaker 1: It is going to change. Things one way or another.
- 6:22Speaker 1: But let's not. Let it have one leg up on
- 6:25Speaker 1: this disaster. Especially when there are Americans suffering from it
- 6:33Speaker 1: and in it. I don't know about you guys, but
- 6:41Speaker 1: I'd prefer to hear more about the rescue efforts than
- 6:47Speaker 1: a sensationalist trial that's gone on for weeks and the
- 6:50Speaker 1: deliberations have been going on. let's face it the Clancy
- 6:58Speaker 1: trial will be life changing in a way and I
- 7:02Speaker 1: think changing on how we view different issues and aspects
- 7:08Speaker 1: and all that but those people lost their homes lost
- 7:18Speaker 1: their homes And yes, we mourn the loss of three kids.
- 7:33Speaker 1: We really do. But if the 24-hour news cycle takes
- 7:38Speaker 1: its eye off Nepal, they're doing a disservice to those
- 7:43Speaker 1: in need. And isn't the media about bringing support and help?
- 7:56Speaker 1: I think so. I think that's what the media should
- 7:59Speaker 1: be for. But we become too sensational to care about
- 8:10Speaker 1: thousands in need in a country that doesn't really impact America.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Except it does. Because we should always be at the
- 8:22Speaker 1: ready to support those countries. And not just at the
- 8:27Speaker 1: ready to report on a sensationalist trial. That has real impact.
- 8:33Speaker 1: For sure. But it's become sensational. And that's my message.
- 8:42Speaker 1: At the One Link of Alex Media.
