- 0:01I have a bold opinion. We cannot deny that d e and i
- 0:08continues to ebb and flow as a priority inside of the biggest
- 0:12companies in the world down to the smallest companies in the
- 0:14world. We cannot deny that.
- 0:18I could give you data statistics reasoning.
- 0:22We're not going to do that today.
- 0:25But I do have a bold idea. Can we all raise our hands in
- 0:29them? It actually I'll start this way.
- 0:32I want to ask you all the question.
- 0:34It's a question that I literally have been asking myself doing my
- 0:3730 minutes of reading this morning.
- 0:40For those that forgot, you know, I do about 30 minutes to an hour
- 0:43of studying every single day. But anyway, I have a big bold
- 0:50question. Something I ask myself and I'm
- 0:52asking you what's one piece of dni that we believe is never
- 0:58going away? I'll give you some comparable
- 1:02examples. We see like like for example
- 1:07paying employees like you have to do that, you have to have a
- 1:13payroll system, it seems like you have to have an ETS these
- 1:18days. Once you're Big enough company.
- 1:19It seems like you have to have it a try.
- 1:21It is it seems like, you know, for your for my marketing and
- 1:25partnership. Folks, you have to have a CRM
- 1:27internally as a tool for your, for your sales individuals, for
- 1:31your account Executives, whatever.
- 1:32It's going to be. What's the one tool or the one
- 1:36thing, the one initiative that we all can agree is never going
- 1:43away. As it pertains to do, you know,
- 1:47I'm going to go out of the limb and say the I'm thinking.
- 1:54I'm going to grab the limb and say the one factor that's never
- 1:58going away as having the recruiting teams.
- 2:04Filling the pipeline of Talent with diverse Talent /, reaching
- 2:10a, certain quota internally of diverse talent that is actually
- 2:13inside of your company. I believe that's never going
- 2:16away. Like, I think every company will
- 2:21remove the and I leaders will, you know, double down on every
- 2:26other initiative in the world and say, we'll get to d&i a
- 2:29little bit later, down the road, whether it's microagressions,
- 2:32whether it's compensation, whether its performance, man,
- 2:34all these other factors, if they look at it from an isolated D in
- 2:38our perspective, but I will say, I do believe that making sure
- 2:42you have diverse talent in the pipeline and divers Town inside
- 2:46of your company. I believe that it's never Going
- 2:50away. So if that is the case, I'm
- 2:54sitting up here that means I'm I mean I'm locking in if that is
- 2:59the case, then what I believe we should do is the following
- 3:04Denial is leaders out here listening.
- 3:08Take everything that you do and that's what we're doing here at
- 3:10diversion. Take everything that you do.
- 3:15And bake it fully into the best practices of the HR Suite
- 3:22because we also agree that HR is never going away.
- 3:26Companies that fire HR leaders at scale are just completely
- 3:29idiotic. So what you going to do, run a
- 3:33company which I should Marketing Executives, your sales
- 3:36Executives, your technology partner, like what are you going
- 3:39to do, right companies that do that I just completely known
- 3:42understand right? But those are very few and far
- 3:46in between, right? So, bake everything into the HR
- 3:51core function of your business and truly remove the initiative
- 3:57in the word of diversity, equity, and inclusion as this
- 4:01big. Overall.
- 4:02Hey, this is this is the theme of the energy that we're
- 4:04deciding to bake in call it something else.
- 4:07I don't have that upset my head today but make sure that it's
- 4:11baked into everything else that you do and I sign whoever you
- 4:17had as a dni leader bake them into the HR.
- 4:20Sweet. Give them a different title
- 4:22disguise them if you will. And give that person as well as
- 4:28other HR leaders as well as your typical mid-level management,
- 4:33all the way up to your vpz or c-suite the responsibility to
- 4:38help carry the load. Bacon, which would have already
- 4:43done the principles. The best practices, the tools
- 4:45that the resources are from, from the dni perspective, bake
- 4:50it into your Performance Management, bake it into your
- 4:52communication structures. They can insert internal comms.
- 4:56They get into compensation bake it into technology, design
- 5:00selection and design, make it into team, design, bake it into
- 5:03everything that you do. Sorry for the interruption.
- 5:17Let's get back to the show. My apologies, the white chime
- 5:24didn't. So I had to press pause for a
- 5:26minute, but the punchline of what I'm trying to share this.
- 5:31If you can bake it into everything that you naturally
- 5:34need to do, you're going to have teams, you're going to have to
- 5:38review them for my Performance Management perspective, you're
- 5:41going to communicate with them, you're going to send them
- 5:43information, you're going to put them in teams, you're going to
- 5:46analyze them. Those teams are going to,
- 5:50they're going to eventually promote someone, right?
- 5:53You're going to pay people. You're going to do these things
- 5:56anyway. So, take all the best practices
- 5:59and themes of all the work that you were doing Indie and I and
- 6:02all the energy that was making. Everyone go crazy.
- 6:06And when I say, go crazy, I think, I think at a feelings and
- 6:11logical perspective, we all believed all the dni work.
- 6:15But for whatever reason, the organizations, and the leaders
- 6:19that run these organizations, they don't want to, they don't,
- 6:23they don't want to that when times get hard, they don't want
- 6:26to laser it in, lock it on this d&i terms.
- 6:29So just remove it, take all that energy and just bake it into the
- 6:32Fabrics of what you're already doing connected to HR, give the
- 6:38dni leaders different titles, whatever you got to do.
- 6:42Right. Remove ego.
- 6:44And the only thing that I believe is going to withstand
- 6:49the the weapons and flows of this world in time for my dni
- 6:54perspective. Is.
- 6:59Is making sure you have a diverse pipeline. and making
- 7:05sure when you go and you look at your numbers internally that you
- 7:09have diverse representation at the executive level, all the way
- 7:13down to the bottom floor of your organization.
- 7:17I believe that's how it's going to go.
- 7:20I believe that is something we have to be thoughtful of, I
- 7:22believe that's something that diversity was clearly trying to
- 7:24do. And that's something, I think a
- 7:26lot of leaders need to think about and be conscious of As
- 7:31always just a few thoughts, just a few perspectives.
- 7:35We will talk soon. As always just a few thoughts,
- 7:34just a few perspectives. We will talk soon.
