- Daniel: Clint, sometimes you beat somebody so bad that they have no choice but to leave the chat. They have to just exit out of the environment that they are in. Oklahoma might they might have to leave the SEC. Clint: Mm-hmm. Yes. Some They I don't know. I I want Texas to be the school that we kick out of the SEC that's the newcomer. I might not have a choice. I might not ha th there might be Daniel: Sure. Well when Oklahoma beats Texas in two weeks, what if we just exit ⁓ both? What if we just both of them out? Clint: Oklahoma showed up between the hedges and said two things. They said, one, we're gonna let Sorry, I'm I'm thinking about what I'm gonna say and it's silly. I'm gonna let John Mateir air rage you to death. That's what they said, I'm gonna let John O Matteir come on down to Georgia and air rage you into oblivion. Daniel: John March. They said, listen, we know we can't run the football against Georgia. We get it. Okay? We can't run the football against normal teams, so God forbid we're not gonna be able to run the football against Georgia. We know that. But at least we can fall back on the arm of John Mateer. Clint, that was the plan coming into Athens on Saturday. Clint: Yaha. Correct. That was the plan. Plans, sometimes the best laid plans, Daniel, goop. Daniel: They go awry. Clint: ⁓ this defense pass rush, Daniel, do you have questions about the pass rush? ⁓ huh. And what happened? Daniel: I did. I early in the season I did have questions about Clint: You c you expressed some concerns about the pass rush. Daniel: I did ⁓ I did express some concerns about the pass rush. ⁓ were you aware that Georgia finished the season last year with one of the pa worst pass rushes in all of college football? Is that something that you knew about? Clint: I was, I was there and it was awful. Daniel: It was absolutely terrible. And so, yes, I did have some concerns about the pass rush. I I now have some different questions about the pass rush, Clint. Georgia finishes this game with another three sacks. As we said, if Georgia just keeps this pace up, they will finish the season with four sacks. Clint: Just Daniel: Forty sacks, four zero, that is double the number of sacks they had last season. Clint: And again, in line with the four best schools that wound up in the playoff contention last year. So if if that number translates to success in the college four playoff, which you and I believe it does. Daniel: ⁓ yes. It it definitely does. Yes. Okay. Yes. So Georgia currently sitting on eleven sacks through four games. They had twenty all of last season, Clint. Clint: We're the we're to that level. ⁓ no. Daniel: Georgia gets another three, but it's not the sacks in this game. It was the continual pressure because John Mathir had more one yard carries in this game than I believe I have ever seen from a quarterback in my life ever. Right? John Matthew in this game had fifteen carries. Clint. Clint: Yes. He How many designed runs of those fifteen were there, Daniel? ⁓ interesting. Daniel: One. I remember one. Clint: I I remember it too. Daniel: Fifteen carries, Clint. Do you know how many yards he ended up with? Clint: How many yards? Yeah. Go ahead, tell the people. Daniel: Seven. It was seven. That's a half a yard per carry, and that's being generous. ⁓ John Matir had more one half yard gains in this game than I have ever seen in my entire life. And all of that was due to Chris Cole, Justin Williams, Elijah Griffin, Josh Horton, ⁓ Jordan Hall, Raylan Wilson, who were absolute animals in the pass rush. Clint: Ooh ooh. Jordan Hall. Daniel: Gabe Harris, Clint. I saw a dip from Gabe Harris in this game that I have not seen yet from Gabe Harris. It was new. It was something new. Clint: Mm. It it was new. Hey Larry Knight. I I don't know what you want for the holidays. You tell me I'll get it for you. ⁓ mini muffins? Daniel: A nice fruit basket. A nice basket. Many muffins are coming to Larry Knight. It was a bend. You understand? He was sideways. Clint. ⁓ this Georgia pass rush is two words that I would use to describe it. Okay? Two words. Those two words are multiple and relentless. Clint: Ooh I I do. ⁓ I know. the that's the word I'm d okay, that's more than two. There's that's four. ⁓ look. Daniel: Insatiable Jackhammer. No. Yeah. Those are the two words I would use. Multiple, relentless, insatiable jackhammer. Those two words I would use to describe this Georgia pass rush. Argue with a wall. Clint: I th this pass rush collapses a pocket, makes quarterbacks uncomfortable. You go look earlier in the game, Arch Manning's not a good quarterback. Earlier in the day, Arch Manning was throwing he's bad. Guys, he's bad. Texas fan, if you're here Daniel: He's bad. He's bet listen, we ha yeah, go ahead. Clint: Texas fan, if you're here, having a a aggressive defense that gets home with a very, very, very good edge defender in s ⁓ he is very good. Okay. Like and a running game that can impose itself on the road. Daniel: ⁓ gosh. Very good. ⁓ if only you had one of those. Clint: That's not a bad team to cheer for, but you all demand that we give Arch Manning respects. He's not good. Daniel: You insist. And if you think that we are sour grapes, meaning we're gonna say Arch Manning is bad because we hate Texas, I will prove you wrong right now. Watch, you ready? Trinidad Chambliss is elite. Clint: He sure. Here we Is pss ⁓ my word. Daniel: Clint, he's freaking unbelievable at football. Should be the number one overall pick in the NFL draft, Trinidad Chambliss. Clint: N probably Somebody's going to talk themselves out of it because he's five ten and you're stupid. He's exceptional. Daniel: Cause he's small. You're an idiot. Okay, so Texas fans, there you go. There's a team that we're actively rooting against that we hate, the last team to beat Georgia, unlike Texas. Clint: Can't stand them. ⁓ no. Daniel: That's a team we're actively rooting against, can't stand, and yet we have the the eyeballs to tell us their quarterback is good. Now, Arch Manning, bad. Sorry. Go ahead. Clint: When the pocket collapses and there are hands near and there's pressure about and feet get you throw errant passes that turn into interceptions. Daniel, those 15 or 14 rushes for seven yards. When you have a defense that collapses the pocket and then guys screaming off the edge, and I mean screaming off the edge, multiple looks, you talk about safety, you talk about ⁓ star talking about corners you're talking about outside inside backers you're talking about guys looking like seven pressure dropping back you're talking about sending four or five dink last week I didn't get to talk about it on this show two weeks ago dink came on a blitz opened up beautifully for him the sky was parted he whiffed on a sack when he like you can't do that dink you can't whiff this week he Daniel: Mm-hmm. Yeah. I mean, Dink was in there on one of the pass rushes. Dink was in there mixing it up. Yep. Yep. He whiffed it was early in the game against Arkansas. Whiffed. He blowing people up in there. No. And there's and listen, let you need to pay attention. Okay. On that 2022 team, who was the who was the DB that Georgia consistently brought in the pass rush? It was Javon Bullard. Why? Because Javon Bullard was the best pass rushing D B. Well, are you seeing Khalil Barnes screaming off the edge on the pass rush? Clint: He ain't within. People. Daniel: No, you're not. Are you seeing KJ Bolden flying in on the safety blitz? Kyron Jones? No, you're not. But Dink, he clearly has shown this defensive staff something that he's got multiple, relentless, insatiable jackhammer. This pass rush is. It's it is absolutely euphoric to watch, Clint. Clint: Nope. Why? Not as much, no. ⁓ he comin'. ⁓ Mm. Daniel, it's so good. I saw something on the offensive side of the ball. Daniel: See something, say something. It's like a bag unattended in an airport. Whatever it is, we can handle it here. You need to report it to your superiors. You need to make that phone call, Clint, and you need to tell your superiors what it is that you're witnessing so that they can handle the disciplinary matters as they see fit. Clint: I, for one, will trust the supervisors to do what they will because I that's their job. My job is just to is just to see what's in front of me and and say it. Daniel: That's their job. That's their job, after all. Sometimes the banter is so inception level deep that I don't even know what we're talking about. Clint: We we inception ourselves sometimes. Okay, like all of a sudden we went be like, did I just put myself to sleep to trick my own brain? Daniel: But if y listen. If you love the banter, by the way, between the banter.beehop.com, there's a link in the description of this episode. Make sure that you're there. That's a free newsletter. Clint and I send out every week. We would love to have you be a part of it. Also subscribe to this channel. We love you guys. ⁓ go ahead. Clint: Yeah. Tell the people. ⁓ I've been I've been waiting I've been I've been waiting. Daniel: You saw something on offense. Sorry, I derailed us. Clint: Sitting like a tiger in the weeds, waiting. I'm a patient man, okay? When the window is there, I will. Daniel: Mhm. He's a patient man, friends. He's yes. Clint: White Phillips might be a real threat out of the backfield, Daniel. The best defense we will face all year. Run defense, very good. Defensive backs that are fast, physical, and no assignments. Okay. So even second level. ⁓ 23 is a. Hey, there will be again. Daniel: Oooookay. That guy twenty three, he's a real D B. He's a real D B. Talon Taylor Talon Taylor put one He put one right on top of you, but ⁓ he's a real D B. Clint: Talon Taylor. Dwight Phillips. And and when the play Mike Bobo, you glorious, glorious man. This mustache is for you, sir. Just to let you know. This is an honor of you. Daniel: ⁓ all mustaches I believe are legally obligated to be dedicated to Mike Bobo. Clint: The the root we can all f the etymology of all mustache comes from Mike Bobo. Daniel: Yeah. Clint, we're gonna be in Vandy next weekend. Should I say y are you it's a it seems like a razor might be coming with me. Might be making the trip with me. Yeah. Clint: It feels as though we need to we're we're gonna you're gonna find us, by the way, in Vandy. You're gonna know where we are. We're gonna be easily identifiable, okay? ⁓ we are Daniel: Yeah. Yeah, the talking dogs crew is gonna be there. And hey, if you find us, we've got something for you. Clint: We have so much for you. Daniel, I saw Dwight Mike Bobo called this play up, overloaded Oklahoma to one side, had looks and motion that made Oklahoma determined that they're gonna go to the right side. And so they loaded up and he went pin and pull on the backside, got Dwight Phillips in between a crease, hit the sideline, and said tail lights. It was a beautifully called, beautifully executed, beautifully blocked, and Dwight Phillips, ladies and gentlemen, that's I've been wait I've been waiting. And I saw Daniel: We got a little something for you. Mm-hmm. ⁓ huh. Yeah. Well, you just know, Clint, you know. You've been saying it. I said it to my son early in this game. When we were running Dwight Phillips and to his credit between the tackle, Dwight Phillips putting his shoulder into some guys early in this game. I saw that. I appreciated that. We ran a direct snap to Dw Dwight Phillips on a short yardage situation. You'd think Chauncey Bowens would be the short yardage guy, but Dwight Phillips was already in the game. They wanted to run a little tempo, and so they direct snapped to Dwight Phillips. He gained it right up the middle. But you know, Clint. With the speed, the athleticism this guy has, if he ever gets a window, if he ever gets a little sniff of something, he gone. Clint. This is not a guy that needs very much at all. And sure enough, he took off eight carries for eighty four yards, but obviously the fifty four yarder doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Georgia struggled to run the ball in this game. Clint: Eagle. ⁓ my. As as we anticipated they would, Daniel. Daniel: Without Nate Frazier, Georgia struggled to run the ball in this game. I think we'll talk more about that later in the week. Clint: We ⁓ not now. Not now. This is this is happy vibes. Daniel: But they did average five yards of carry, Clint. Clint: With what with your best hand tied behind your back against the best defense in the nation, be s that's not Georgia. The the second best defense in the nation. Five yards a carry? Daniel: Yeah. ⁓ correct. Your dominant hand tied behind your back. And you're getting a you're getting a half a first down a carry. First down. Clint: I went what w what's going on? Do we understand how great this is? This is great. People Daniel: Gunnar Stockton played a subpar game for Gunnar Stockton standards and listen, I'm not here to argue with the Mike Bobo haters. I'm not here to argue with the Gunnar Stockton haters. It's not my business. I don't care. You can hate Gunnar Stockton, you can hate Mike Bobo, whatever. People are wrong all the time about any number of things. It's okay. Gunnar Stockton played a subpar game by Gunnar Stockton's standards, right? I mean, QBR was like in the 60s. He obviously had more a record number of incompletions, 14 of 25. ⁓ threw a pick in the game that was not a good throw. It was tipped, but even if it hadn't been tipped, Clint, it was still not a good throw. Clint: Sure. Sure, sure, sure. It is. Sixty seven point three. It was there's g it was not a good throw. Daniel: Gunnar Stockton didn't play great. Nate Frazier didn't play, and Georgia struggled to run the ball in the second half and put the game away. Clint: Yes, yes, yes. Daniel: Georgia fumbled for the first time this season, had a pick and lost a fumble. Gave Oklahoma short fields in multiple instances. Clint: Mm-hmm. Daniel: They won forty one to thirteen, Clint. They won forty one to thirteen and absolutely coasted to the finish. Clint: This is what we're trying to say. The first half Gunnar Stock was nine for nine for ninety eight in a tud. Daniel: twenty eight to nothing. Clint: So yes, do the game was over. Did did Oklahoma come back and did Brent Venables the the second best defensive minded head coach in college football? Did he make adjustments and did he yes he yes he did? Good on you, Brent. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, that was bad. Daniel: The game was over. He did. He also punted to try to keep the score reputable and try to not embarrass his quarterback any more than he could have. This game would have been easily in the fifties for Georgia if Brent Venables would have played to win. Clint: Yes. Yes. People, Gunnar Stockton can throw, we have wide receivers that can catch, we have deep threats, we have running backs that can make you miss. We had the best running back on our team that we've seen in a very long time since the names of the greats on the bench. Our defense showed up. Our defensive backs, we shouldn't even talk about Ellis Robinson. Hello, sir. Why don't you just put somebody in a just body them 24-7? That's my guy. Daniel: That's your guy. And it should be your guy. It should be your guy. I We could do a whole episode, Clint. How much Clint: Wow. Daniel: How much does it say about how good the front seven is? That with as good as the secondary is, the front seven and they are. They're legitimately that good. And yet the front seven is so much better than the back end. Clint: Yes. They are. There's a reason we're talking about Ellis Robinson, Damello Jones, KJ Bolden, Barnes, Dink at like the the end, not the forefront, because I have to talk about the other guys first. Daniel: You're I think you're contractually obligated to talk about Chris Cole before you talk about anybody else on this Georgia defense. 'Cause I mean, these guys are nasty. This Georgia team is exactly who you want them to be. They're absolute killer instinct. Put you in a body bag, take no prisoners, absolutely have no mercy, and force you out of the group chat, Oklahoma. You done. You done. Scurry on out. Because we finished. Clint: Go. I'm not Zero. Oklahoma Y leave the SCC, Oklahoma. Head on the dust bowl is calling. Daniel: We Yeah, we done up and run you out of here on the schooner just right out of town. That whole boy. Grandma has got dysentery and you are gonna have to ford the river. And it's gonna be a tough scene. Clint: That wagon that wagon gonna bloop bloop tip on over. It's gonna be a tough scene. You're just gonna it's gonna take you, and those green dots are gonna be gone. ⁓ he is Daniel, I am Clint. We're be back next week. Looking forward to Vandy as you and I will be there. Sign up for the newsletter, talking dogs. Daniel: Yeah. We'll be back all week. We may have a live show in Vandy. We don't even know what this week is. Make sure you're subscribed to the YouTube. Make sure you're subscribed to the newsletter because we don't know what this week's gonna be like. It's gonna be an it's going to be a big week in the history of this Talking Dogs. Clint: We don't know, by the way. We W when we're in the same place together, I'm here to tell you this right now. Things get off the rails even more than this. Daniel: When we're in separate places we cause enough havoc to upset the balance of well established groups. That's when we're in separate places. Okay? But when you put us together when you put us together, yeah people be army crawling around, God knows what is going to be happening, Clint. Clint: We get we get people fired from AJC. ⁓ Daniel: I'm here for all of it. Make sure you're here for all of it. If you're still with us on Saturday, I've lost Clinton completely. If you're still with us, if you're here for the banter, if you're here for this Georgia football team, make sure that you're subscribed.
