Transcript
- 0:06Hello. What's your least favorite scary
- 0:08movie you're. Crazy.
- 0:11I knew you were crazy the minute I laid eyes on you.
- 0:14Crazy. OK, this is what we're going to
- 0:16do. Crazy.
- 0:17Welcome to watch your least favorite scary movie, The.
- 0:19Podcaster We talk about the good, the bad, the ugly, and the
- 0:22crazy, and all of our favorite and least favorite scary movies.
- 0:26Crazy 'cause we believe every horror movie rivaling as a fan
- 0:31base. Even though we got this all
- 0:33fucked up, dude. Yeah, well, you.
- 0:35Didn't pick up your socks? Crazy.
- 0:37Crazy. Yeah, we we talk about scary
- 0:40movies and. We defend them and also shit
- 0:43Taco sometimes. Yeah, that's what we do, by the
- 0:45way, on that right there, like you.
- 0:47The delivery of that. Last part was like, all right,
- 0:49here's what we're going to do. And it's like a pie.
- 0:51Like crazy crazy. Welcome everybody.
- 0:56We. Are going to be talking about a
- 0:58crazy episode today. Boy, I was not ready for people
- 1:02to be surprised at how much we liked a wrong turn for last
- 1:06week, and I feel like you guys might not like what we have to
- 1:10say about. Something today, but you know
- 1:12what? The ruins that supported wrong
- 1:14turn did show up and I appreciate y'all.
- 1:17You know what? Thank you guys for listening.
- 1:19Even if you don't agree with us. Yeah, I think it's fun to
- 1:22listen. There will be times that I'll
- 1:24listen to people talking about a movie.
- 1:26I love and they hate it. And I'm like, but OK, yeah.
- 1:28That's kind of how I am too. Yeah, you know, some of.
- 1:32These other movies these less are known these the wrong turn 4
- 1:35is out there needs some love sometimes.
- 1:37You know what I mean? That's what we're here for.
- 1:39A brief announcement if you're a member of our budget to your
- 1:42Patreon. Our bonus episode on Scream
- 1:45Queen in season two came out over the weekend where we talked
- 1:49about the winner who will be featured in this episode today
- 1:51because they were featured in the movie we're discussing
- 1:54today. So.
- 1:56Yeah, so that's a lot of fun. Go check that out if you're a
- 1:59budget to your patron. If you're not a budget to your
- 2:01patron, you can be one. The link is in our show notes
- 2:04below. It's the very last part.
- 2:06Scroll all the way to the. Bottom we got all.
- 2:07Kinds of things. We're also going to be having an
- 2:11announcement next. Next week, Next week about the
- 2:14About the Patreon. Yeah, so you know.
- 2:16Some changes coming so. Be on the lookout for.
- 2:18That, yeah. So that's our announcements,
- 2:21right? Yes, that that's the
- 2:22announcement. All right, so I have polls this
- 2:25week, actually. And it's it's as stupid as the
- 2:28movie that we both loved. I'm so happy with it though.
- 2:31Yeah. OK, so we asked everybody this
- 2:33week if a hoot hollers in a forest and no one is around to
- 2:37hear it, it doesn't make a sound.
- 2:40So over on Twitter, 75% of the people out there believe it does
- 2:45make a sound while 25% believe it doesn't.
- 2:48And on Instagram, when 100% say yes, it makes a sound.
- 2:53I think the hoot is for the hooter, not necessarily for the
- 2:56holler. You know what I mean?
- 2:58Yeah. So if I hoot in the holler, or
- 3:03if I hoot and holler, you know, if I'm the only one to hear it,
- 3:07I think that's what it's what's in my heart, yeah.
- 3:09Yeah, I agree. I think it makes a sound.
- 3:11I mean, it's out there. It just has to be discovered.
- 3:15Can we get matching Hoot and Holler tattoos?
- 3:18I'll be hoot and you be holler. Yeah, I want to say like one of
- 3:22those necklaces, like 1/2 of the Broken Heart is Hoot and the
- 3:24other is Holler. I bet I could find, like, a
- 3:27broken heart necklace and I can grave it.
- 3:30Yeah. OK.
- 3:31OK. That's.
- 3:32Let's not forget to do it. OK, so that was our poll for
- 3:37last week's episode, which was wrong.
- 3:38Turn 4. So that's it.
- 3:40So let's get into our episode for this week.
- 3:43Yes, you have teased me with all kinds of crazy information.
- 3:48Right. Yeah.
- 3:50So this kind, some of it kind of started because I was trying to
- 3:53figure out it felt like maybe there was something going on
- 3:57behind the scenes with Scream Queens season 2.
- 3:59Not that I don't think Gabby deserved the win, but I was kind
- 4:03of like, hey, so our two finalists were a white woman and
- 4:06a Latino woman, and the role is for a Nazi, for white
- 4:10supremacists. I feel like maybe she was a
- 4:13little bit preordained. So I was trying to do some
- 4:15research, and I came across all kinds of drama that ended up
- 4:18being helpful more for this episode than for the Patreon
- 4:21episode. So that's where we're at.
- 4:23I'm very curious that you're. And yeah, if you wanna hear the
- 4:26journey of Gabby, you know Patreon again.
- 4:29Yeah, yeah. OK.
- 4:30So saw 3D or Saw the final chapter if you're watching it in
- 4:34two dimensions. Released October 29th, 2010.
- 4:38We watch it on DVD, but as of February 24th, 2024, you can
- 4:44rent it on YouTube, Google Play, Voodoo, or Prime.
- 4:47If you're listening to this on release day, maybe give it one
- 4:50more day and see if any of the streaming options got renewed.
- 4:53I remember it is on the Roku Channel, for those of you who
- 4:57have Roku out there. All right.
- 4:58Yeah, so it's free there. Written by Patrick Melton and
- 5:02Marcus Dunstan. Directed by Kevin Groiter.
- 5:06So yeah, you said that there was something spicy with that going.
- 5:09On we will get to that, but most of that is about that.
- 5:13Damn, that's not a lot of shit. Yes, this is a very dramatic
- 5:17shooting the. Fucking finale.
- 5:19It's got to be dramatic. Everything from behind the
- 5:21scenes to on camera. It's got to be huge.
- 5:23Yes, OK, Music by Charlie Klauser.
- 5:26Once again, special effects makeup.
- 5:29The special effects makeup was mostly done by Amy Spear, and I
- 5:32got a whole host of people involved in the prosthetics,
- 5:35which I think is just as important with the show.
- 5:37With this movie, once again we have Francois Dejanet, Darren
- 5:41Bishop, Patrick Baxter, Jeff Denishi, Jason Death Ridge, Kyle
- 5:47Glencross, Sean Sanson, Andrew Santegado, and Shane Zanders.
- 5:53A lot of prosthetics were involved in this starring Tobin
- 5:58Bella's Jigsaw, Costas Mandaloris Hoffman.
- 6:02Betsy Russell is Jill. Carrie Elwis is Lawrence Gordon
- 6:06the Doctor. Sean Patrick Flannery is Bonnie.
- 6:10Chad Donnello is Matt Gibson. Gina Holden is Joyce, Dean
- 6:14Armstrong as Kale, Tanedra Howard as Simone.
- 6:18Returning from her breakout role in Saw Six and premiering at her
- 6:22breakout role in Saw, The final Chapter is Gabby W as Kara.
- 6:27Also, Kale is our boy Daniel from Wrong Turn. 4 Fondunul
- 6:32himself, he ended up having not. He had a pretty decent role in
- 6:35this movie too. I was kind of surprised.
- 6:36I thought he would have like a smaller role.
- 6:38Yeah, I remember us. We didn't look up which
- 6:40character he was last week, but we just knew he was in this and
- 6:44I thought he was going to be one of the little saw shot boys.
- 6:47But he's actually the BFF, the lighter liar.
- 6:50Old and shot before wrong turn four.
- 6:52He looks so much older. He looks so much older.
- 6:55He's like, and we were talking about this, he's thinner, but
- 6:58not in like a good way. He looked very gaunt.
- 7:00Yes, he did. Yeah, he.
- 7:02He had the right amount of weight on him in wrong turn
- 7:05four, I think. He was rocking the middle part.
- 7:08In this. Movie, too.
- 7:08And that's unfortunate. OK, Travis, yes.
- 7:12Time for our favorite game budget.
- 7:15Oh, I'm Bug Ted. Well, big finale, grand finale
- 7:19at the time, so I'm going to go with budget.
- 7:22It is indeed budget. A lot of it was because they
- 7:25made the decision to shoot this in 3D, OK?
- 7:27And it was, at the time, the most expensive of the Saw films.
- 7:31Wow. It was $17 million budget.
- 7:33Wow. Wee.
- 7:34Opening box office once again for US and Canada.
- 7:38I don't know why. I've been getting a lot of those
- 7:39designations lately and I wonder if it's just because of the like
- 7:42whole 3D Ness of it all. But the opening box office was
- 7:4522.5 million and a worldwide gross of 136 million.
- 7:49Damn IMDb score of 5.5 out of 10.
- 7:53Wow, that's way better than I thought people would be on this
- 7:56movie. I thought people would trash
- 7:57this thing on IMDb. Yes, and it's fairly consistent
- 8:00with the two of the other ones I pulled.
- 8:03So my theme this week is gimmicky visual or direction
- 8:09style. Oh.
- 8:09I like that. So the first one is Piranha 3D.
- 8:13OK, big old three dude, this. Is another three.
- 8:15D. Was having.
- 8:16A big resurgence Jackass 3D also came out.
- 8:18This year? Mm hmm.
- 8:20We've actually been watching a lot of our 3D movies because of
- 8:23the the My Bloody Valentine 3D coverage we did a few weeks ago.
- 8:28Yeah, and none of them have fucking 3D anaglyph.
- 8:31Yeah, driving me fucking insane. And Travis bought 3D glasses so
- 8:35we could watch my 3D movies and 3D and it's not working out.
- 8:38Of them have it, man. It's fucking pissing me off.
- 8:41Anyway, Piranha 3D released August 20th 2010 budget of
- 8:4524,000,000 and a worldwide gross of 83,000,000.
- 8:48IMDb score of 5.5 out of 1010 out of 10 in our hearts here in
- 8:53this household, please go listen to one of our earlier episodes
- 8:56on this maybe. It's amazing.
- 8:58I feel like any time we plug one of our older episodes, I got a
- 9:03warn you, it's it's a little bit rougher back then.
- 9:05Josh Stolberg thought we hated this movie because of the name
- 9:08of our podcast. And we're like, no, it's
- 9:10sarcastic. We love.
- 9:11It. I forgot that he's like no.
- 9:16You are a hero on our show, Josh.
- 9:20I'm going to reach out soon. I'm going to be like, hey man,
- 9:22can you tell us some shit about some of the Saw movies you
- 9:24wrote? Please.
- 9:25Come on, man, we love you. OK, the second one.
- 9:29This particular gimmick is how low budget its effects are, and
- 9:34that is bird demic shock and terror.
- 9:37Oh fuck, we haven't watched. That we haven't watched it, but
- 9:42we watched a clip from it and the birds are faker than in The
- 9:45Birds by Alfred Hitchcock. It's so it's here.
- 9:48We're looking. That released February 27th,
- 9:512010, A buggy bugged head of $10,000.
- 9:55That sounds right. No information on a worldwide
- 9:58gross and an IMDb score for 1.7 out of 10.
- 10:02I really want to watch it because that little clip I saw
- 10:04was like, oh, I feel like this movie knows exactly what it.
- 10:06Is, yeah, for sure. Man, it's. 1.7 That's brutal.
- 10:09That's the lowest I've ever heard.
- 10:11I feel like it doesn't deserve that low of a score because it
- 10:13clearly knows what it's doing. It's self aware.
- 10:16Yeah, Come on, guys. And then final is a found
- 10:20footage. OK.
- 10:21And I picked it for another reason which will become clear
- 10:24in a little bit can I guess. Yes, found footage 3D.
- 10:27It's not 3D. OK, this is found footage.
- 10:30That's the name of the movie found.
- 10:31Footage. Oh, OK, OK, OK.
- 10:33Paranormal Activity 2. Whoa, OK.
- 10:36So that released October 22nd, 2010, a budget of 3 million, a
- 10:41worldwide gross of 177 million, that Blumhouse method and an
- 10:45IMDb score of 5.7 out of 10, somehow the highest on this
- 10:49list. That's insane.
- 10:50That's a good movie, though. It is a good movie.
- 10:52I can't believe it's higher than Piranha.
- 10:54That movie is insanely good. I think people just think like,
- 10:56oh Piranha, that's not that great and.
- 10:58Dude, it's. Come on.
- 11:00No, man, it's so. Gallons of blood.
- 11:02I just remember like editing that as we were moving into the
- 11:07house, like surrounded by boxes. We had just gotten our Internet
- 11:10connected. I remember those days, man.
- 11:13Early days, Early days, Aisha, I don't fuck around.
- 11:16He does not. OK, I got a lot of tag lines.
- 11:19A lot of them are variations of like in heart pounding 3D, in
- 11:23eye popping 3D. So I didn't write all of them
- 11:24down, 'cause it's fucking stupid and I hate it.
- 11:26Yeah, OK. The one on the poster is.
- 11:28In heart pounding 3D this. Halloween The traps come alive
- 11:32in real D3D. OK.
- 11:35Yeah, it's not that great. It's not selling me on the movie
- 11:37unless you're just trying to sell the 3D in this of it all,
- 11:40which. They spent enough money on it.
- 11:43The only 3D movie that I was genuinely excited to go see back
- 11:47then was Jackass 3D, because I was like, how the fuck are they
- 11:50going to do that in 3D? Saw three.
- 11:52DI was going to be like whatever.
- 11:55With more Dave England poop skits than normal.
- 11:59It's going to be poop flying at you.
- 12:01Poop. Flying and flying at you?
- 12:03Yeah, OK, the time has come for all to experience.
- 12:08The last act of a legend. OK.
- 12:13That's OK. Yeah, that's OK.
- 12:14I mean, and I wonder if maybe it would hit harder if this was
- 12:17actually the last movie that we know now in 2024.
- 12:21We know that there's at least one more coming out.
- 12:23Yeah, there's there's many more on the on the horizon after that
- 12:26one. Yeah, this Halloween, witness
- 12:30the final act. Come on, OK.
- 12:34Will you survive until the end? I don't know.
- 12:36Will I? Every month, every master
- 12:39Craftsman and all true geniuses always saves their best for
- 12:43last. That's good.
- 12:44I like that. I feel like Kevin Grader threw
- 12:49that in there, 'cause he was pissed and he's been involved in
- 12:51all of them. Oh, OK.
- 12:53So 'cause remember, Kevin Grader did the editing in The Early
- 12:57Ones and his directorial debut was Saw Six.
- 12:59Yeah, I remember that. Yeah, OK.
- 13:01So Saw 3D was greenlit in July 2009 with David Hackel of Saw
- 13:08Five set to direct returning riders Melton and Dunston.
- 13:13Pre production in September. Pre production occurred in
- 13:16September 2009, at the time it was called Saw End Game.
- 13:22I want to live in this alternate universe where we have to
- 13:25differentiate between whether we're talking about the SAW and
- 13:28game or the Marvel and game. Everybody keep fucking ripped
- 13:32off. Saw you motherfuckers.
- 13:34I. Don't want to live in that
- 13:35world. So it was supposed to be two
- 13:38separate movies because they knew there was a lot of loose
- 13:40ends to wrap up and they wanted to give everybody answers to all
- 13:43of their questions. However, after Saw Six did not
- 13:45perform as well as they had wanted it to in the box office,
- 13:49the studio was afraid to green light more than one, so they
- 13:52were only allowed to do one more movie.
- 13:54Oh. Come on, guys.
- 13:55In January 2010, Twisted Pictures dismissed Hackel.
- 14:01Couldn't find out why. They just dismissed him as the
- 14:03director, and they made Kevin Grater come back because of a
- 14:08contractual clause. Kevin Grater was pissed because
- 14:10he was actually on set at Paramount about to start
- 14:15directing Paranormal Activity too.
- 14:18Yes. So not only was he pulled from
- 14:22that, but he was brought in two weeks before production before
- 14:26filming began. On this he missed all of the pre
- 14:29production, all of the script writing, all of the set
- 14:31building, the casting, all of that he came in.
- 14:34And because he had been involved in the franchise from the very
- 14:37beginning, he saw the script. He had what they called
- 14:40comprehensive rewrites two weeks before everything was supposed
- 14:43to start. But there's only so much you can
- 14:46do when sets are built, Prompts are ordered, cast cast members
- 14:50have been hired. There was only so much that can
- 14:53that he could do. And in an interview with, I want
- 14:56to say it was either Melton or Dunstan, it was one of the two
- 14:59of them. They were like, you know, and
- 15:01and he was upset. He was brought in.
- 15:03He didn't know what was going on.
- 15:05He's like had two weeks to get caught up, and he had all these
- 15:08suggestions because he's been a part of the series and because
- 15:11he's been a part of the series. He knew what was and what was
- 15:13not realistic. But still, he had very lofty
- 15:15goals for what could be done. And apparently he had a blog
- 15:19going on at the time and he wrote about what was going on.
- 15:21I didn't read the blog, but he was pissed.
- 15:24This. Was not.
- 15:25And so when we were talking in our Patreon bonus episode about
- 15:29how he seemed very short with the final two actresses, I was
- 15:33like, it's because he didn't want to fucking be there.
- 15:36I can. I can see that now in his face.
- 15:38But at the time, though, they didn't even say he's going to be
- 15:41directing Saw three. DI feel like they may have
- 15:43pulled him in for that beforehand.
- 15:45And then, like, after he did that, like, all right, we're
- 15:48going to need to share to actually direct that movie now
- 15:50too. Yeah, so there was just a lot of
- 15:52shit coming at them. They had a complete change in
- 15:56directors, one that was pissed and wanted to redo everything.
- 16:01They had to jam 2 movies worth of plot lines into one and then
- 16:06add on top of that. They're doing this 3D technology
- 16:09and it appears that all of the cast and crew were very split on
- 16:13the experience of working with 3D.
- 16:15Kevin Grater didn't like it because he was like, it's
- 16:18different than in 2D because if you shoot something from two
- 16:20different camera angles and say you've got light shining off of
- 16:24your arm in one shot but not in the other, when you do that
- 16:28composite image, it looks fucked up in 3D.
- 16:31So it makes it even more like you have to be very careful
- 16:35about how you shoot stuff. Mark Berg, one of the producers,
- 16:38was like, yeah, I mean I worked on My Bloody Valentine 3D.
- 16:40It's not that big a deal. We're fine with it.
- 16:42Oh, in the. 3D in that movie is so fucking good too.
- 16:46Yeah, I would have been like, comfortable.
- 16:48Like, OK, this guy knows what he's doing.
- 16:49Tobin Bell was like it's not going to affect my acting, and
- 16:53part of me wonders if that's because he had three minutes of
- 16:55screen time. He's not even.
- 16:56Like, barely in it, Yeah. Like the bill on my cap might be
- 16:59like a little bit coming in check.
- 17:02And Costas Mandalore said it was tedious and took too long.
- 17:06Costas in 3D? Come on, man.
- 17:09I feel like he would have like been the ones like, you know,
- 17:11one of the people there championing.
- 17:13He's like, I want to be in the theatre.
- 17:14The closest demands to be in the theatre, with these people
- 17:17sitting in the chair next to them.
- 17:19I do feel like this was one of the longest filming dates.
- 17:21Most of it took place on a in like a closed set in a studio.
- 17:25It went from February 8th, 2010 to April 12th, 2010.
- 17:28So that's a really long time for one of these movies.
- 17:30I saw movie. For sure.
- 17:31Yeah, it's almost I. Mean it's like twice as.
- 17:34Normal. Yeah, it's almost three months.
- 17:36So that's it's a really long time or is it two months,
- 17:39February to March, March to April, no, two months, 2 two
- 17:43months, OK. Whatever.
- 17:45Yeah, yeah, it is time. Math is always the weirdest
- 17:47math. So yeah, this is a very fraught
- 17:51production. And I think some of that comes
- 17:54through on screen and now some of the stuff makes more sense
- 17:57having read that. So yeah, just really intense.
- 18:03And one of those that in like 10 years they're going to do a
- 18:05documentary on, like, yeah, I can't wait for.
- 18:09That, yeah. And I'm actually just thinking
- 18:12of parts of this movie now and I'm going, oh.
- 18:15Yeah, yeah. Which is why I said that last
- 18:18tagline was Kevin Carter being petty because he was like, all
- 18:21right, yeah, cool, pull me in for this.
- 18:23And take me off. Paranormal activity, too.
- 18:25Can you imagine a world where Kevin Carter directed that one?
- 18:29I don't know, but like that, who directed that one that.
- 18:32One Todd. Todd Williams, I think, is his
- 18:34last name. Todd.
- 18:35Paranormal activity Two mm hmm. OK, well, I don't know.
- 18:40I mean he he was contracted like he, yeah, he knew that this was
- 18:45a possibility. He knew it was a possibility,
- 18:47but still you would think that there would be like a level of
- 18:50professional, like understanding that, like not working on
- 18:54something else. It's a fucking business.
- 18:56They got to like, turn this shit out.
- 18:57This is one of their fucking cash cows right here.
- 18:59Saw. Yeah, well, except for the fact
- 19:02that they decided that they were only going to do one more
- 19:04instead of two, even though they had plan out like this final one
- 19:07being two stories. That's why they couldn't drop
- 19:09the ball. So, and this is not something
- 19:11that I found in my research today, but something that I'd
- 19:13read in the past, is that Joyce knew that Bobby was faking cause
- 19:16a lot of people cite hers as the most unfair death in the whole
- 19:20franchise. And apparently originally she
- 19:22was in on it and there was like a scene cut that showed that she
- 19:26knew it, but it was changed in this final cut.
- 19:29It's made very explicit throughout the rest of it that
- 19:31she did not know. So that change ended up and the
- 19:34time crunch they were in and the amount of, you know, what they
- 19:37were able to work with left some stuff in that was confusing.
- 19:41And it's like, why is he, like, punishing her in one of the
- 19:44worst ways we've ever seen in this franchise, just for being
- 19:48married to a moron? Well, I have thoughts about that
- 19:54too. I mean The thing is, it's
- 19:56Hoffman who is like, you know, this thing in this series is he
- 20:01just kind of uses this as a Ave. for murdering.
- 20:05Yeah, maybe. Maybe John didn't actually have
- 20:08that as like she wasn't supposed to be in that and he's like now
- 20:12fuck her. No, this girl.
- 20:13I don't like the pantsuit she wears.
- 20:15She just needs to not be around because she has terrible
- 20:18judgement and partners. Yeah.
- 20:20Yeah, something like that. OK.
- 20:22All right. So all that being said, I'm very
- 20:27excited to talk about our good, bad, ugly and crazy in this one.
- 20:31OK, yeah, I guess our episode's just gonna be crazy this.
- 20:36It it has to be because that's that word is said about 50 times
- 20:39in this movie and they're all said by Chad Donnello.
- 20:44We did after this movie was over we did immediately put it on the
- 20:47first final destination and we discovered he's named Todd also
- 20:50with 1D. Like the director that took over
- 20:52Paranormal Activity too. And we're like why does it spell
- 20:56Todd with and we were coming up with all of the stupid possible
- 20:58longer versions of Todd and Travis was like all right,
- 21:01what's Todd short for? And it was actually transfer on
- 21:03death. We're like.
- 21:05That has to be intentional. I have never.
- 21:07Heard anybody say that. I feel like I broke ground with
- 21:10that discovery. I'm gonna take credit for it,
- 21:13and I realize that I probably don't deserve.
- 21:16It Jeffrey, Feel free to reach out to us when you're right,
- 21:18your next movie. There are people way smarter out
- 21:20there than me. I guarantee you somebody figured
- 21:22that shit out. But I want to feel good about
- 21:24myself for once. People.
- 21:26I bet if I go listen to that old episode of the Dead Meat
- 21:28Podcast, like the very first one I ever listened to, they'll be
- 21:31like, yeah, he's named that because blah blah blah, and I've
- 21:33forgotten it because it was three years ago that I listened
- 21:35to it. OK, so we ready to go into our
- 21:39thoughts on this one. Good, bad, ugly and crazy.
- 21:42Great to see. Yeah, all right.
- 21:44I guess I kick it off. Yeah.
- 21:45So one of the things I like most about this entry is this is the
- 21:50most slasher we get out of all of the Saw movies because we get
- 21:54Kosis Hoffman going on his fucking he's.
- 21:56Completely rogue. He is, and I love it.
- 21:59It's so cool. It's like a different element to
- 22:01all of these movies before, like we've had like the.
- 22:05We saw his destruction in the end of six, like he went burned
- 22:10all of his bridges. I like that.
- 22:11I mean, it was a good way to, like, continue that story is
- 22:13like, OK, well, he's fucked. How is he going to react to
- 22:16that? And the way he reacts is like a
- 22:17super entertaining thing to watch.
- 22:19But no, I like that. Like, this series has kind of
- 22:22had variety and like the stories it's told.
- 22:24Like, we've had the police procedural thing in the first
- 22:27one we've had just straight up torture porn and like most of
- 22:29the rest of them. And then this one, like, we go,
- 22:32like, let's just fucking turn it into a slasher halfway through,
- 22:34too. Yeah, And that's what happens.
- 22:35It's awesome. I love watching it.
- 22:38I think the trap designs in this one are really well done.
- 22:41Yeah, supposedly that garage trap was like had been pitched
- 22:46numerous times for other movies and they were always told it was
- 22:48too violent. The one with Chester?
- 22:50Oh dude, it's so fucking violent, man.
- 22:52Like, any time I watch that, I just cringe at all the shit
- 22:56going down, like you see his skin peeling.
- 22:58It's so disturbing. He worked with I Love Chester
- 23:02Bennington and I am so sad at his passing.
- 23:06It's very tragic. And apparently when he got this
- 23:10part, he worked with an acting coach to make sure he gave the
- 23:13best performance, even though all he does is like scream and
- 23:16reaching. He was like, he was like, and I
- 23:17had to access so many emotions and I had to really think about
- 23:20my character's motivation, why I'm here, like how I would act.
- 23:24If I'm being real, I was watching him last time.
- 23:26I was like, damn, he is actually a really good actor.
- 23:28I. Really is.
- 23:30Really shocking as Christian was sick.
- 23:33Really shocking. Yeah.
- 23:34And like, side note like that was one of the moments where
- 23:39Talia made us pause and I like just pulled out my phone and I
- 23:41started playing Linkin Bark on Spotify.
- 23:44Talia, yeah, we had to go. She had to go outside for her
- 23:47little bathroom bathroom break and we had like a whole little
- 23:49Linkin Park. Yeah, we toasted to Chester.
- 23:52Yeah, but he he did a great job. I was very impressed with him
- 23:56here he he outshine. He outshine Gabby.
- 23:59He really did, Yeah. I mean, at least Gabby.
- 24:02Even though she won like a supposedly breakout role and
- 24:04then immediately got killed, at least she gets to say she worked
- 24:07at Chester Bennington. That's.
- 24:08True. Yeah, I tried it so and got so
- 24:14far. And the other thing I have is I
- 24:16really like the idea for like the the victim in this movie,
- 24:21the guy that fakes being a jigsaw victim.
- 24:24Like, I like that idea. That's an interesting take on
- 24:27it. Like obviously there's going to
- 24:29be fucking grifters out there that are going to do that.
- 24:31Absolutely. Yeah, and I was.
- 24:33It's cool to see like that, take on it.
- 24:35I think probably one of the best real world comparisons I can
- 24:37think of is like when we had the clown things happening a few
- 24:40years ago and some of those were legit, like creepers out there
- 24:43in the world and clown masks for whatever reason.
- 24:46But then people started staging it so that way they could get
- 24:48hits on their videos on the YouTube channel that should.
- 24:50Have happened here in Kentucky, down the coast of Harlan, like
- 24:52where I'm from, like like Bell County, like 30 minutes from
- 24:55where I grew up. People like to hoot in the
- 24:56holler. It's clowns, apparently.
- 24:58Yeah. All right.
- 25:00That's not good. All right.
- 25:03This is, this is like the peak of the campiness of the
- 25:08franchise. I think it's amazing.
- 25:12It is, besides the first one, the most quotable I like.
- 25:17I. Love it.
- 25:18It's just so over the top in so many ways.
- 25:21Like we get like the public, like we've thrown all sense of
- 25:25like never mind that we have to suspend disbelief in other
- 25:28movies, cuz it definitely has to happen.
- 25:30Yeah, this one throw it all out the window.
- 25:34Like none of it makes any like how did we set up this trap in
- 25:36this public showcase, you know what I mean?
- 25:39With the little wood boys. Yeah.
- 25:42And we've got, like, there's just so much happening.
- 25:46And I love. I can't even put it into words.
- 25:47It's so over the top, it's. So over the top.
- 25:50And it's so silly. And it is a person that you're
- 25:52like, wow, it's really despicable to exploit other
- 25:55people's tragedies and exploit other people's need for hope,
- 25:59which is what he's doing. And it's one of those where he's
- 26:02very much an unmitigated like, OK, maybe you do kind of deserve
- 26:06a little bit of comeuppance in a way that like other people
- 26:09you're like, OK, well, he had depression saying like just give
- 26:13him a a prescription to Prozac instead of like throwing him in
- 26:17a wire maze, you know, like, yeah, it like this is it's, it
- 26:22is an uncomplicated movie. Yeah, it really is.
- 26:27Also, we get Kerry Ellis hamming it appropriately hamming it up.
- 26:33I love that he came back. One of the things in the first
- 26:36movie that I would say is his acting didn't really hold up.
- 26:41It's. Perfect for this.
- 26:43And he was born to play Saw 3D Warrens, I think Warrens Gordon,
- 26:48a doctor. I think one of the best things
- 26:51about it too, because I talk all the time about how much I love
- 26:54Robert Pattinson's interviews for the Twilight series.
- 26:57Carrie Ellis did this series of interviews with other cast
- 27:00members for like promoting Saw, The Final Chapter, and they were
- 27:04asking like, which movie is this trap from?
- 27:06And he just kept saying, is that a real trap?
- 27:08Is that a thing? Who puts out a movie he's like.
- 27:10So funny. Man, Any of them.
- 27:12He didn't even know the ones from the first one that he was a
- 27:15main character in. He fucking shit on the entire
- 27:18series for so long because they fucked him hard.
- 27:21But he did have like a really sweet thing where he was like, I
- 27:24appreciate all of the fans that love me and have cheered me on.
- 27:28I wouldn't be here without you guys, so, well, it's like he
- 27:31might hate the franchise so he doesn't hate us who love it.
- 27:34We need to. For.
- 27:36People who don't remember go back and listen to our first Saw
- 27:39episode if you haven't yet. But to just kind of summarize
- 27:41it, he got fucked over like money wise.
- 27:44Yes, I don't blame him. Him and him and Kevin Grayder
- 27:47probably have an I Hate Twisted Pictures fan club right now.
- 27:51Dude, they probably do like, they probably like, bonded hard
- 27:54over that whole experience. He's probably the reason why he
- 27:57got him back on this movie is like, Kevin's like, I fucking
- 27:59hate this shit too. Come over here like let's just
- 28:01bitch about it and make it like as over the top and.
- 28:03Stupid as possible. Pretty sure I said it before,
- 28:05but how do you get Dread Pirate Roberts on your cast and then
- 28:11fuck him over like that? I know man.
- 28:13I'm glad that it was resolved, though I'm glad that we at least
- 28:16got to have him back in the series.
- 28:18Yes, it does make me so sad that this was split into like it
- 28:22could have been two movies and we could have gotten more of
- 28:24Lawrence Gordon the Doctor. I don't.
- 28:26Know I. Am very very upset about it, but
- 28:29I do like what we get with him and I like that he once again is
- 28:33morally ambiguous, but this time in favor of Jigsaw He.
- 28:37He said that he was treating his character as though he had
- 28:39Stockholm Syndrome and I wonder if part of that's relating to
- 28:43real life. And I feel like a lot of his
- 28:44lines are like 4th wall breaking.
- 28:46I made notes of them in my notes, so we'll talk about them
- 28:49when we get to. Them.
- 28:51OK, cool. All right.
- 28:52You got anything else? That's that's my main guy.
- 28:54It's just it's uncomplicated fun.
- 28:56Yeah, it really is. It's just stupid.
- 28:58Fun Turn your brain off. Eat some popcorn.
- 29:01Drink beer if you're into that. OK, all right, on to the bad.
- 29:06So the first thing I have is I don't really feel like this
- 29:11movie have enough to make the 3D worth it.
- 29:14Like, I'm watching this as a 2D movie, and there's nothing that
- 29:17I'm like, I'm really missing out on that experience with this one
- 29:21right here. Like it's just like.
- 29:22Yeah, where is like obviously I'm gonna draw this connection
- 29:25because we just talked about it and also because of Mark Berg as
- 29:28the, you know, the. Producer.
- 29:31Tie in between the two of them. When we watched My Bloody
- 29:33Valentine 3D, we both were like, I wouldn't hate watching this in
- 29:373D. I'd be curious to see what the
- 29:39effects are because they look like they would be really
- 29:40interesting. They aren't hammy and they do
- 29:43seem like they would add a nice little bit, whereas in this it's
- 29:46like, all right, we're going to have a drill coming at you or
- 29:49we're going to throw a saw at the screen.
- 29:51Yeah. Or there's like some maybe some
- 29:52chunks, like a couple of pieces of chunks of like flesh coming
- 29:55your way. But yeah.
- 29:56And like when at one point there's like, and here's a Billy
- 29:58in the foreground. Yeah.
- 29:59It's like, OK is that really all you're giving me here?
- 30:02Like, it's this isn't really like selling it for like being
- 30:05And then that kind of makes sense with it being kind kind of
- 30:08like a last minute decision. Yeah.
- 30:09You were saying like where nobody was like fully on board
- 30:12with it, like, you know, it's a. Very split decision.
- 30:15Yeah, it it makes sense. I also feel like even though I
- 30:20love the idea of Bobby being a little grifter, I feel like they
- 30:25did not flush it out well at all.
- 30:27Like there's so many things that you could poke a hole in like.
- 30:31I would have loved a little bit more of a flashback scene, like
- 30:35OK, so I'm sorry I'm butting in some with this.
- 30:38OK, 'cause this is one of my bads too.
- 30:40Is the is the timeline with everything is weird 'cause I
- 30:42that. Was one of my last ones here,
- 30:43yeah. Yeah, 'cause I said that last
- 30:45night when he gets his tape and he says you've been doing this
- 30:50for years. And I was like, I thought the
- 30:52timeline between the first one has been a year at the most.
- 30:56So, like, I know that like Jigsaw himself, like some of his
- 31:00traps have been going on before the 1st movie came out, so
- 31:02that's fine. But like, I feel like like
- 31:04you're saying we needed a little bit more of that build up, like
- 31:07showing like those becoming more prominent than getting the idea,
- 31:10than scheming. I would have loved to see Bobby
- 31:13and Kale scheming some, you know?
- 31:15Yeah. It would have been nice to have
- 31:16something like that. But yeah.
- 31:17I'm also thinking like, OK would they with the like, who all is
- 31:24actually buying this? Because I feel like the cops
- 31:26would have noted like this is something sketchy.
- 31:28Like we don't have any records of any shit like this going
- 31:30down. This guy is just telling stories
- 31:32like this, like he's not being real about it.
- 31:36I feel like they would have said something about it.
- 31:38Yes, I was thinking about like a Gone Girl type situation or like
- 31:41that fucking documentary we watched that everybody was real
- 31:44crazy about on Netflix. That was a very similar kind of
- 31:47Gone Girl thing. Like, so did he just appear one
- 31:50day with bloody titties and his wife like helped heal him?
- 31:55He. Actually do like they actually
- 31:56cut himself. Yeah, he had like little scars.
- 31:58So he did OK, yeah. Which I don't think that he
- 32:01could have used scar wax, because presumably he is still
- 32:03fucking his wife, because he seems like the type.
- 32:04He would probably fuck his wife if she had titty scars, you
- 32:07know, or she had bleeding titties.
- 32:09Not when she had titty scars. He'd be like, we need to, we
- 32:11need to laser that. Shit, OK.
- 32:16Anyway. So I'm.
- 32:17Sorry, that's just painting like a like a weird mental image of
- 32:20like, just like blood coming out with the nipples.
- 32:22I'm like, what the fuck is happening?
- 32:23Oh my God. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 32:25No. The thing that, like I'm
- 32:26thinking though is like Jigsaw has never made this shit
- 32:31private. He puts that shit front and
- 32:33center. He wants the cops to know about
- 32:35it. So like, if there's one where
- 32:37some dudes claiming, hey, he had me too, and they're like, OK,
- 32:41well, we never knew about it. Like, he he always has, like so
- 32:45many other people involved in these two.
- 32:47Like, I don't know, like it's just, it doesn't make any sense.
- 32:51Yeah, it falls apart if you think about it too hard.
- 32:54Yeah, like, did he just show up bloody, saying he was attacked
- 32:58and then the cops? Like, what?
- 33:00Weren't ever able to find the location?
- 33:02Yeah. You know it doesn't make any.
- 33:03Sense like would he not have reported it?
- 33:05Would the cops not have asked questions once he put out his
- 33:08memoir? Yeah.
- 33:09Yeah, I get what you're saying. I'll give it a pass because I do
- 33:12like the idea of that though. But yeah, yeah, OK.
- 33:15Yeah, I think it would have been really great to see how he
- 33:18managed to convince the cops. Yeah, I would have liked to have
- 33:20seen that. My bad.
- 33:24Besides that cause the timeline fuckery was a big part of my
- 33:28bad. The other one is the blood.
- 33:30The fake blood. Oh.
- 33:30Yeah, it's not good. Yeah, it's not good.
- 33:32And here's my thoughts on exactly what happened, based on
- 33:36my experience and I might be off the mark.
- 33:38But this is what has happened to me when I have tried to make my
- 33:40own fake blood. And it's when you've got a jar
- 33:44or a glass or whatever and you fill it up with water and
- 33:47cornstarch or whatever else you're using as a thickening
- 33:49agent. You put in the drops and it's
- 33:51the same as if you're doing like cookie frosting or coloring
- 33:53batter for like a cake or something.
- 33:56Yeah, it's always gonna look darker when it's in like a
- 33:59liquid form and it's in a big pile.
- 34:03Once it spreads out, bakes, dries, whatever, whatever have
- 34:07you, it lightens up. Especially with something like
- 34:10water and corn starch and food coloring.
- 34:14And I think cuz I've had this happen where I've tried to do
- 34:17like some fake blood just on my shirt, last minute spur of the
- 34:21moment, cosplay type thing and it came out pink, like what we
- 34:25see in the movie over and over again.
- 34:27So I think they're fake blood for whatever reason, if it has
- 34:31something to do with issues with the 3D technology, which it
- 34:34shouldn't because of Berg, but whatever, it sounds like he was
- 34:36kind of fucking over all this at this point.
- 34:38Anyway. I wonder if it was like some
- 34:41sort of an issue where they couldn't make it as viscous as
- 34:43they needed it to be. So as soon as it like dried or
- 34:46thinned out in any kind of way, it became super pink.
- 34:50But it's very distracting the entire time.
- 34:52And then you can obviously tell that there's like digital
- 34:55effects over top of it. And it's like if you're doing
- 34:56digital effects, make it fucking red.
- 34:59And just you also have to imagine real D3D at this time
- 35:03wasn't even like the red and blue glasses anymore.
- 35:05It's the little sunglasses that you get at the dorky little
- 35:08Cinemark and you have to put it back in the like, recycle and
- 35:11we'll sanitize it later. Then like, I don't know.
- 35:14What they were doing, I thought they were just throwing that
- 35:15shit away and recycling. It Oh no, they definitely like
- 35:18sprayed like some Lysol on it back.
- 35:22That's that's way smarter than when I was singing.
- 35:25But yeah, just color correct it. If you're doing that shit, it's.
- 35:28Always. So no inside we get pink foam.
- 35:31Yeah, the entire time. OK, I agree with that.
- 35:34All right. Ugly.
- 35:36All right, so my ugly is they killed Joyce.
- 35:40And like, she had nothing to do with this.
- 35:42She was a fucking victim. She had a husband who lied about
- 35:45shit. And you know.
- 35:47I think what frustrates me even more about all of that is she
- 35:50didn't even have it. Like she had no agency in any of
- 35:54her game. Yeah, like she couldn't plead
- 35:57for him to do anything because like, Jigsaw knew that he was
- 36:02going to fail that trap. If I were to make an adjustment,
- 36:06I would have made Kell that person at the end, because he
- 36:10was the one that gave him the idea in the first place.
- 36:13Yeah. And then Joyce lies.
- 36:14Like, blind to his lies or something.
- 36:15Yeah. Yeah, you know, like it just
- 36:18makes more sense. Yeah, like flip flop them.
- 36:20That makes sense. Yeah.
- 36:21Yeah, OK. Yeah.
- 36:23And then you're the noose that hanged your wife.
- 36:26Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
- 36:27Boom. That's an easy rewrite.
- 36:28Yeah, for sure. And like, I mean, still, she
- 36:30could survive there, and it would still be ugly that she
- 36:32would be there, but it would also still fall in line with
- 36:34Hoffman's character. Yeah, and then she can divorce
- 36:37his ass afterwards. Leave him.
- 36:39Well, she'd probably still die. So I guess it's like a.
- 36:42Form of divorce? It's just a little bit more
- 36:44extreme. OK, what's your ugly?
- 36:48So there's a lot of like specifically, like, derogatory
- 36:55towards women language in this movie in a way that I feel like
- 36:58there isn't another movie. It's like a lot of uses the
- 37:01words bitch and like, slut and like specifically calling Jill
- 37:05crazy, even in context that it doesn't make sense.
- 37:08Like, we love joking around about it because it's so fucking
- 37:11over the top. Not because, like, we think
- 37:14like, Oh yeah, she's actually quite like, She's like, he's
- 37:17like, oh, you knew? You put this reverse bear trap
- 37:21on his head and she's like, yeah, he was trying to kill me
- 37:23because you're crazy. What?
- 37:24Because she didn't want to die. I.
- 37:26Just was like, well, you got this right here and it's your
- 37:28fucking handprints. After he touched it without
- 37:31fucking gloves on, it's still evidence, Gibson.
- 37:35Yeah. So I like that's just weird to
- 37:37me in a way that makes me very like it's not there in the other
- 37:43movies the same way. Yeah, a little bit more.
- 37:45Yeah, maybe. It was Gruyter just taking out
- 37:48his anger in like, a bad way. Like fuck you throwing like a
- 37:52real hard. Bitch, right?
- 37:53Here, bitch. Yeah.
- 37:56So I think that's that's probably like the biggest thing
- 37:59that stands out to me. Oh, oh, also like that whole,
- 38:02like the opening thing, like the way that they decide that
- 38:05they're they're like, yeah. Fuck this hoe like.
- 38:07I mean, yeah, it's not cool that she is cheating on both of you.
- 38:10I get that. I agree with you.
- 38:13Yeah. But it's weird than an alive or
- 38:14death situation. They're like, close your fucking
- 38:16legs, Dina. The thing about that is it could
- 38:20have been so easy. Like, hey, just put it halfway
- 38:22in between you and Dina. It'll cut her side a little bit,
- 38:24but she could maybe survive that.
- 38:26Yeah, that seems like a more survivable trap than most.
- 38:29And also, I feel like they could have agreed on Let's save each
- 38:32other in a more heartfelt kind of way, as opposed to fuck a
- 38:36how. You know what I mean, because
- 38:38that's what it ultimately becomes.
- 38:39But. They were like I I always
- 38:41thought that they were high schoolers, so I felt like they
- 38:43were just kind of overpowered by their emotions in that moment.
- 38:47Dude, I need you to look at the IODB page for the two bubbies
- 38:52because they look so similar nowadays in the little eye.
- 38:55Like I want to watch a buddy movie with them being bubbies.
- 38:58Hold on. They didn't look anything alike
- 39:01in the opening of this. Movie they didn't.
- 39:02But they look like they could be like, bestie.
- 39:05Like, it feels like it could be another type of horror movie
- 39:08where like, there's a trio, It's the two of them plus one of plus
- 39:13the girlfriend of one of them. But like, she's like, we could
- 39:16have the whole movie of what was happening with them before this
- 39:19happened. OK, yeah, yeah, Sebastian
- 39:21Piggott. Look at him, his little curly
- 39:23hair in his mustache and then like a John core with his little
- 39:26curly hair in his mustache. And they both look Hipster Indy
- 39:29in their little IMDb profile. From like a.
- 39:31Little 8 by 8 image comparison. I can see the reason.
- 39:34Yeah, a little bit. Yeah, yeah, I could see them.
- 39:36I want to see them in things together because they had a
- 39:39decent chemistry for the garbage they were given to work with.
- 39:41That's that's true. Yeah.
- 39:42And that this that scene is also has one of my favorite lives.
- 39:46I think we're breaking up with you, Dina.
- 39:48I. Love it so much.
- 39:49It's so stupid, OK? All right.
- 39:51What's your? Crazy.
- 39:52All right, all right. First off, I have Matt Gibson
- 39:55doing his Matthew McConaughey impression.
- 39:57That's. Going to be mine because we're
- 40:00going to watch it. What's like, does he?
- 40:02Cathy McConaughey. You have to give before you can.
- 40:05Receive. You're not.
- 40:08You don't speak like this in any other scene, dude.
- 40:11Do you think before he came on to set that day, he went?
- 40:18He probably. Did he's?
- 40:19Probably channeling Matthew McConaughey in that.
- 40:21Moment, I think it proves myself.
- 40:23Oh, you. Yeah, you.
- 40:24Don't too much. Jesse, that's terrible for you.
- 40:28OK, well then the other thing I have is we've had all kinds of
- 40:32like various forms of weird and crazy, the aging effects, but
- 40:37and this one right here. It's just a fucking.
- 40:40Backwards cap. I get it.
- 40:43This thing gets picked on all the time.
- 40:45But I think it's hilarious that they're like, all right, we got
- 40:47to take this back in time a little bit, give them the
- 40:51backwards cap. Also, I feel like, OK, I'm going
- 40:53to piggyback off this, this is my crazy, but it's not
- 40:56necessarily about the movie, but it's about the lore behind the
- 40:58movie. OK, which is where people meme
- 41:00that moment. But in the meme I see reference
- 41:03the most, it says Saw six because that one is very
- 41:06flashback heavy with John Kramer and P Rock I.
- 41:08Would have thought it was saw six also.
- 41:09Yeah, because people are just like, Oh yeah, Flash.
- 41:12There's lots of John Kramer flashbacks in that one, but it's
- 41:14this one. Yeah, I know I would have.
- 41:17I would have always died with saw six.
- 41:19But yeah, no, it's this one. And like, I don't think that
- 41:23like, a backwards hat is like necessarily like a stupid thing.
- 41:25I just think it's a stupid way to try and make somebody appear
- 41:29younger. You know, like Steve Pissimmee
- 41:31type shit right there. Yeah, hello fellow.
- 41:34Kids. Yeah, it's just exactly like
- 41:35that. It's so dumb.
- 41:36Yeah. All right, so I guess we got her
- 41:38crazy out the way. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 41:40All right, so time to read it. OK.
- 41:41All right, boy, this is a fucking wild ride.
- 41:45But I have a lot of fun with this one, so I think I'm going
- 41:48to give it an 8. Oh my God, I was going to give
- 41:50it an 8 also. Yeah, and listen guys, this is
- 41:54honestly, at the end of the day, our ratings are a fun scale.
- 41:58Yeah, it really is. We're not being critics.
- 42:00Yeah, like, is it enjoyable? Is it rewatchable?
- 42:03Like, how often do we think about this?
- 42:06This movie lives in my head at all times.
- 42:09Yeah, same here, man. Like, I think about this one a
- 42:11lot. But like, also at the same time,
- 42:15we don't really give, like, actual criticisms.
- 42:18Like, the whole thing for this is just entertainment.
- 42:20You know what I. Mean.
- 42:20The whole thing is that like, people just fucking love movies
- 42:23and they hate movies for different reasons.
- 42:25We're not bad horror movie fans because we enjoy this and you're
- 42:28not a bad horror movie fan if you hate it.
- 42:29We can all like different things.
- 42:31This is why we like this particular movie.
- 42:34We did an episode with our friend Mike Thompson where we
- 42:37talked about The Changeling, and I fucking hate that movie and I
- 42:40talked about it the whole time. But I also talked about how I
- 42:43understand why people love it. I get why Mike rated it so
- 42:47highly. I get why it's a classic.
- 42:49I fucking hate it. I am still probably like one of
- 42:54the biggest horror fans outside of my horror fan friend group.
- 42:59Like. Like, just like in my family in
- 43:02general, people are like, have you watched this movie?
- 43:03Because they're like, she knows everything.
- 43:05Horror or like at work, it's like, hey, here's a spooky
- 43:07thing, But you knew that already.
- 43:09So like, it. It doesn't.
- 43:12You know, everybody's got different things they like.
- 43:14And I think that's what's so great about art in general and
- 43:17about horror specifically, because it still brings us all
- 43:19together. Yeah, exactly so.
- 43:21Very cool. So we got a starting average of
- 43:23eight. Yes, Fantastic.
- 43:25We start off with a flashback to Lawrence Gordon, a doctor
- 43:29slugging his way out of the bathroom, leaving a slimy little
- 43:32trail of leg blood. But not for long, because he's
- 43:35going to cauterize it up against the furnace and scream for an
- 43:39hour. I'm sorry, but the way that you
- 43:41just described that, I just kind of pictured him as a slug, just
- 43:44kind of like leaving a trail behind.
- 43:46What? That is what happened.
- 43:48I guess it's kind of a slug in this moment here.
- 43:51All right. So yeah, he's alive.
- 43:54That must have been huge back in the theater.
- 43:56Whenever. That came out, yeah, I.
- 43:57Would have fucking watched him. I'm trying to remember how I
- 43:59felt, cuz I know I definitely. I came home from school and I
- 44:04watched this with my mom, OK? So I'm trying to remember cuz I
- 44:08did that. This was also the next year is
- 44:10when screen four came out and I got carted at the theater.
- 44:13So I'm trying to remember. I feel like we both went home.
- 44:17I didn't watch. I only watched one in theaters
- 44:20and it was 3. So yeah, either way, fucking
- 44:24crazy. Crazy.
- 44:25Crazy. So we cut to some public jigsaw
- 44:28in We got Brad and Ryan and Nina in the world's worst love
- 44:32triangle. It sounds like Dean is just an
- 44:33insufferable person. Seems like it's also kind of
- 44:36crazy that this is like this whole thing has been staged in
- 44:40the middle of a busy fucking city.
- 44:42It feels like an like almost. Like in an outlet mall type
- 44:46situation and they've got like a little storefront showcase room
- 44:50type thing, that's what it is cuz it's like construction
- 44:52materials is what they're like is on the banner behind them.
- 44:55Yeah, but it's also just kind of weird because everybody just
- 44:58suddenly notices it at the same time.
- 45:00Yeah. And we don't see any, like,
- 45:02curtain being pulled back or anything.
- 45:03Like, it's all just like been there in the open and everybody
- 45:05suddenly is like, hey. Yeah, I wonder if maybe they
- 45:10thought it was like a prop thing until because the jigsaw tape is
- 45:13set is playing on like overhead speakers too.
- 45:16Can you imagine though? Like, what kind of thing are you
- 45:18trying to sell me with this girl being held over top of a bus
- 45:21saw? Right.
- 45:23Like, wow, Somebody just got fired from their job setting up
- 45:26the display. So the tape says something about
- 45:30proof who's the real alpha male. And that's just fucking stupid.
- 45:33I think it's hilarious that Hoffman at all like, yeah, he's.
- 45:36Yeah, he definitely, yeah, he was like, which would have used
- 45:39the real alpha male. I referred to him as Hoff in my
- 45:42notes exclusively, and I don't know what made me made that
- 45:44decision, but it just feels correct for him, 'cause I feel
- 45:46like he would call himself the Hoff, the Hoff.
- 45:48Yeah, that's David Hoff. Hasselhoff.
- 45:51Hasselhoff. Yeah, he's the Hoff.
- 45:53Yeah, but I feel like Hoffman would call himself the Hoff, you
- 45:57know what I mean? Yeah, I guess the other one
- 45:59could just be the hassle. This guy.
- 46:03Detective Hoffman's the hassle, so but whatever.
- 46:06Yeah. Anyway, so they keep going back
- 46:10and forth, they're cutting each other.
- 46:11And then at one point Ryan says this is the chick that fucked me
- 46:15in your bed two. Or is the chick that fucked me
- 46:18in your bed two days ago with your life?
- 46:22Well, yeah. And she's Dina is kind of making
- 46:24it easy too, because she's just siding with the winner each time
- 46:27that they get like a little bit of leverage.
- 46:29Yeah, she's like, oh, I had to root for him because, you know,
- 46:32I would die otherwise. I'm not going to lie, though.
- 46:34I love that kind of like, graspy voice that she has.
- 46:37I can see why they were seduced by her.
- 46:39Yeah, I could see it too, but she's a trash person here.
- 46:41Yeah. And so then they decided they're
- 46:43going to keep the sauce straight up and they're like, what are
- 46:44you doing? And Brad goes.
- 46:46I think we're breaking up with you, Gina.
- 46:48I love. That so much.
- 46:51I love how everybody's just kind of watching.
- 46:52Like they're like the guys are over there, like do something.
- 46:55They're all just watching. Like somebody.
- 46:57At one point there was a briefcase at the window.
- 46:59I was like, it's bulletproof glass.
- 47:02Yeah. And then when the cops finally
- 47:04get there, after the game's already over, her intestines are
- 47:07fully falling out. They're like get a medic.
- 47:09Finally. Yeah.
- 47:10All right. I mean, Brad's got a little cut
- 47:13to his tum tum, but that's it, yeah.
- 47:15You're not saving Dean, though. She's fucked.
- 47:18All right, so now we get I have recap of Saw Six because we need
- 47:21to know what happened in the last movie, obviously.
- 47:23Yeah, you have his Costas surviving.
- 47:26The reverse bear Trap I'm. Sorry Hoffman, surviving the
- 47:28reverse bear trap. They have a chase scene, and I
- 47:34think this is where we fully see the struggle between Betsy
- 47:37Russell and Costas Mandalor coming to light, because it
- 47:42feels as though they refuse to if you're on set with one
- 47:45another. Because every scene of them
- 47:48together, you actually don't see them share a shot.
- 47:50And if you do see them sharing a shot, one of them has their face
- 47:53turned away, so it could feasibly be a stunt.
- 47:55Double. And we like, rewound the movie a
- 47:57few times. So I'd be like, OK, like, is
- 47:59this a body double? And it seems like every single
- 48:02one of those shots, it's plausible for it to have been
- 48:04somebody else. Yes, decent body double, but
- 48:07body double plausibility nonetheless.
- 48:10Yeah, so Hoffman is just walking around.
- 48:12He is bandaging himself up, wrapping his hand, cleaning up
- 48:15his face where he got torn up. Dude, when we were in the craft
- 48:18aisle earlier at the store and I saw the curved needles, all I
- 48:22could think of was him sewing his face can.
- 48:24You imagine how much that hurt. No, I can't even get a shot.
- 48:28I'm such a baby. I couldn't sew up my own face.
- 48:30I know I'd just be like, well, guess I just have flappy face
- 48:33now. We're not Kosis.
- 48:35Or talent. That's true.
- 48:37Tired. Related.
- 48:38Hard to that. Moment.
- 48:39Yeah, she was like, she was like, this is what you guys did
- 48:41to me. Yeah, by the way, for anybody
- 48:43new listener she she just had surgery.
- 48:45We didn't. Yeah.
- 48:46Get her. Yeah.
- 48:46No, no, she she had a tumor in her jaw.
- 48:48In the hand to remove it. Yeah.
- 48:50It was very. It saved her life, literally.
- 48:52So, you know, we we didn't put her in a reverse bear trap.
- 48:55She had, she had lots of good drugs.
- 48:57Yeah. And we stayed home with her for
- 48:59two weeks. Yeah.
- 49:00Yeah. OK, so he's also catching the
- 49:02news report about William Eason being found dead.
- 49:06Yeah. All right, so Joe has an
- 49:07interview with Matt Gibson because she's requesting.
- 49:10Him. Yeah.
- 49:10She said she wants to talk to him specifically because he's an
- 49:12internal affairs and that's very smart because Hoffman is a
- 49:17disgraced cop now. He was wanted for murder and she
- 49:20was like, if you give me immunity and safety, I will tell
- 49:24you everything I know. Obviously I was married to
- 49:26Jigsaw and you guys have been wanting Tom with me and he says
- 49:29to receive you must give. Yeah, what she does tell him.
- 49:34And you're like, OK, well, Hoffman is involved in and.
- 49:37She's like, oh, so Hoffman is burning his IDs, which why, Like
- 49:43they all know who you're you. He's just trying to go off the
- 49:47grid, I guess. I don't fucking know what's
- 49:49going on here. He's also smashing his phone for
- 49:51the sweet 3D shots. Leave your shit just behind What
- 49:55is burning doing for any? But you're not erasing your
- 49:57identity. I feel like with the phone
- 49:59smashing they were trying to get like fragments of the phone like
- 50:02going out at the screen but like I saw it and like nothing went
- 50:05towards the screen. So we did a rage room a few
- 50:07months ago and we took a lot of slow motion videos and in our
- 50:11heads we thought they'd be really cool.
- 50:13And when we watch them it's just like yeah, like some of them
- 50:16there were some that were really cool but then some like cuz we
- 50:19paid extra for these little powder filled bottles and it
- 50:22those were. Cool.
- 50:24Yours were. Mine was kind of underwhelming
- 50:27because I didn't know what I was.
- 50:28I went first and it was just like.
- 50:31Pooping and I. Was like, well, that's.
- 50:33Not gonna make the final edit, I guess it's.
- 50:35Kind of what they thought for. Yeah.
- 50:37This. Scene here So okay.
- 50:40And then he pulls out the picture of the next target.
- 50:43And it's Bobby. Yeah, so Bobby is doing a press
- 50:46tour for his book. Survive.
- 50:49I didn't write what the undercard title was, but it's
- 50:51not. That's the important thing.
- 50:53Yes. Survive with periods after it
- 50:54like Friends, except it actually leak stands for something,
- 50:57unlike friends. I mean, Friends stands for
- 50:59things, but not like Fri. And yes, yes, yeah, he gets
- 51:03scolded by his PR, his publicist, his PR agent for not
- 51:07kissing his wife at the end of his tail.
- 51:09So his whole thing is so he survived A Jigsaw trap and he
- 51:12had to put hooks through his titties and connect some wires.
- 51:17Yeah, like a plug in, Like a like some power.
- 51:20Like electricity. I don't fucking know.
- 51:22Yeah, I I don't know what the his full thing was but just kind
- 51:25of drive. This shit off the top of it
- 51:26says, Like, yeah, I had to climb up with like shit in my tits and
- 51:29like, yeah, had to plug something in.
- 51:32It was wild. Yeah, as we all do at some point
- 51:34in our lives. Just usually never all at once.
- 51:36And everybody else is like, I don't know, man, Jigsaw is
- 51:38usually pretty inventive. With this I.
- 51:41Feel like there are like mothers out there who like, I've had
- 51:43suckling babies at metit and I've had to plug in and then
- 51:46apply once before it seems doable.
- 51:48God. Damn, dude.
- 51:51My God. OK, sorry.
- 51:53Talking about the gravity of a nipple for a minute the.
- 51:56Gravity of a nipple. We had a dog.
- 51:59Her name was Nelson and she had puppies and it was an unplanned
- 52:04teenage pregnancy. She wasn't prepared for
- 52:06motherhood. She had.
- 52:08So she had eight puppies and they were huge.
- 52:10And we had no clue how she held that many puppies inside of her,
- 52:13because she didn't even look like she was ready for delivery
- 52:15when she actually had the puppies.
- 52:17And they were all such adorable puppies.
- 52:19Like I said, they were giant, and so she had to nurse them
- 52:22pretty regularly. And one day, she was.
- 52:23Just. Fucking tired of it.
- 52:26Like one or two were still nursing and she just stood up
- 52:30and the puppies were just dangling from her and we had to
- 52:33like, go and try and get the puppies off of her before they
- 52:36fell. That was a salt trap for.
- 52:39A dog right there. That's.
- 52:40A nightmare? She's just she.
- 52:43Wasn't she wasn't ready for motherhood.
- 52:45She she was a surrogate for a for a lot of puppy parents out
- 52:50there. Take that dog on a press store.
- 52:54OK, so we now see Jill gets pig Nets and then it's Hoffman he
- 53:02hasn't rigged up into a wild little trap here.
- 53:04You know the only wrong thing about killing you, Jill.
- 53:08I only. Get to do it once.
- 53:10And we see her get shredded in half and then we find out it's
- 53:15just a dream. The only dream sequence we get
- 53:17in all of this all franchise, and I think that holds true even
- 53:20to today. Yeah, this isn't kind of weird.
- 53:22It is kind of weird, but I also feel like it's very fitting for
- 53:25the specific entry in the franchise.
- 53:27I would also allow it in Spiral. They just wanted like they
- 53:31wanted. To like have a death scene for
- 53:33her, like I guess they get to in this movie.
- 53:35Yeah, so like they just wanted like this for three DI get some
- 53:38of chunks of Jewel flying at Trigger.
- 53:40I feel like they're like Betsy Russell is hot and we need to
- 53:43show it off a little bit more. And I feel like Betsy Russell
- 53:45was like, I'm hot, we need to show it off a little bit more.
- 53:48So that's what they did. They put a little nighty in tour
- 53:51asunder. Yeah.
- 53:53OK, so now we get Gabby. Gabby.
- 53:57From Scream Queens. Too she gets her big scene here.
- 54:00I'm happy that they didn't phrase it in Scream Queens as a
- 54:03breakout role, because this obviously isn't a.
- 54:05Breakout role right here she gets.
- 54:07Help me at it. And that's about it.
- 54:09Yeah. And she screams.
- 54:11We talked. Funny about her and our Scream
- 54:13Queens Patreon episode for this month, but I have a theory that
- 54:17like, she probably would have had way more Ranger mobility in
- 54:20the scene. She can't hit a fucking.
- 54:22Mark She can't hit her. Mark she.
- 54:23Can't miss a mark if she doesn't have one.
- 54:25She struggled so much in Scream Queens to be able to, like, hit.
- 54:28Like she had like a cue that she would have to hit and she
- 54:30couldn't do it. So in like this movie, like
- 54:32Kevin's just like, fuck it. Tie her down, put her underneath
- 54:35the wheel. She's not going anywhere.
- 54:37Just scream for me, please. She did have an interview where
- 54:40she talked about having the prosthetic made for her head and
- 54:43she said it's so fucking scary. She was like layers and layers.
- 54:47You can't hear anything. All you have keeping you
- 54:49breathing is 2 straws in your nose.
- 54:51It's terrifying. Yeah, 'cause they had to make a
- 54:53mold of her head so that way they could squeeze it.
- 54:55Yeah, yeah. I imagine it's gotta be
- 54:57claustrophobic, yeah. And we also get Linkin Park.
- 55:01Poor little. I'm gonna there's probably as
- 55:04long as I can. I have the time to edit it and
- 55:06there's probably gonna be several Linkin Park moments
- 55:09throughout this episode and it's just because I really love
- 55:12Chester and miss him and God, he hybrid theory was a huge part of
- 55:16my life. He.
- 55:16Kills it in the scene. He was, because he learns that,
- 55:20you know, things in life are a little bit more than skin deep.
- 55:29Oh, and his skin is gonna be coming off in the scene here.
- 55:33Yeah, so he's a white supremacist.
- 55:37Not exactly the most flattering role for him.
- 55:39But you know what? Dude took it like a champ.
- 55:41He did a good job. I like that he like, was like,
- 55:43listen, my heads already shaved, so that's cool.
- 55:45But please don't put any, like, big swastika tattoos.
- 55:48Don't. Give me, just give me like so.
- 55:51Let me have some dignity in this role play.
- 55:53Like you're gonna you're gonna show, like, my back muscles a
- 55:56little bit. Can we just, you know, No, no
- 55:58swastikas, please. Yeah, so OK, they he's in the
- 56:03car. We got Gabby, his girlfriend.
- 56:06She's underneath one of the. Wheels.
- 56:07Her character's name is Kara. Yeah, one of He's got two
- 56:11bubbies that are outside of the car.
- 56:13One of them's got the chain. Through his jaw, yeah, much like
- 56:16Troy, yeah. Through the jaw and in his arms.
- 56:21I was gonna say his front arms, they're just they're just arms.
- 56:24And then the other bubby is like up against the garage wall.
- 56:27So basically he's got to reach for a lever in the engine to
- 56:31pull it before the brake, before the jacks give out underneath
- 56:35his car, 'cause otherwise it'll squish Kara's head, pull off his
- 56:38friend's jaw and arms and run into the other guy.
- 56:41And then eventually when he crashes, he'll go flying
- 56:43through. His back is super glued to the
- 56:47seat of his car and so like he has to pull off multiple layers
- 56:51of Dermis 2 the. Thing about this is most jigsaw
- 56:55traps 60 seconds, but I think this time they get the white
- 56:58supremacist tax which cuts that in half.
- 57:00They only have 30 seconds to do. This.
- 57:02It feels very much like the difference between Jeff and
- 57:04Riggs. Where?
- 57:05Yeah. Jeff and three hours to move
- 57:08through a warehouse and Riggs had 60 minutes to get through an
- 57:11entire through all of Sawville. Yes, I saw, though I forgot that
- 57:15that's the name of this. Place.
- 57:17But like in this point right here, I feel like it's like
- 57:19Kaufman. 'S like I.
- 57:20Think we should. Have the white supremacist tax
- 57:22for things. Oh, you have to do something and
- 57:23pass it. Let's make it faster.
- 57:24Yeah, a little bit, a little. Bit more difficult, yeah, as our
- 57:27friend Chad. As our friend Chad says, just
- 57:29punch everyone else you meet. Yeah, I agree with that
- 57:32philosophy in life. I mean, I honestly feel like
- 57:34Kaufman's like, like, I'm going to make it look like I gave you
- 57:37guys a chance. But like, really, you guys are
- 57:38just like, scum. Like, I'm just going to get rid
- 57:40of you. Yeah.
- 57:41And I mean, that's kind of what happens.
- 57:43So, like, Chester ends up tearing most of his back off,
- 57:47and then he never makes it to the lever, crushes Kara, slash
- 57:52Gabby's skull, rips his bubby's arms off, and then the car
- 57:55drives through the garage door wall and kills the other dude.
- 57:58And then it sends him flying through the windshield into
- 58:00another car because it's like a junkyard.
- 58:03Yeah, so everybody did. It's a pretty, pretty brutal
- 58:10crime scene. And like I said at the
- 58:12beginning, this is a trap, apparently, that they've had in
- 58:14mind for a while and it kept getting nixed as being too
- 58:17violent. And I guess at this point
- 58:18they're like, nothing's probably too violent for this at this
- 58:21point, which they wouldn't. You love to see Damian Leon
- 58:27design A saw trap. Dude, I would want his effects
- 58:30on a saw trap for sure. It would be awesome.
- 58:33It would be great. Maybe someday.
- 58:36I'm sure he would be down for something like that.
- 58:38Yeah, he probably. I don't know if he could work
- 58:40within like, Lion's Cave and Twisted Pictures.
- 58:43No, I don't think he could handle a studio telling him what
- 58:45he's not allowed to do. They needed to give him saw X or
- 58:49socks and like, make it actually like X-rated.
- 58:52Yeah, you know what I mean. Oh my God, Socks.
- 58:54Rated? Yeah, Exactly.
- 58:55Socks rated? Yeah.
- 58:57OK, so I think this is a really cool thing because we cut from
- 59:01one Scream Queen winner to another Scream queen winner
- 59:03because we get to Nidra's character.
- 59:06Yes, and Mountain. The support group for the jigsaw
- 59:09survivors. Bobby is leading and there's
- 59:11cameras filming and it feels very disrespectful because
- 59:15support groups like those are generally meant to be anonymous,
- 59:17so you can. Yeah.
- 59:18It's so invasive. I can't believe, like,
- 59:20everybody's just kind of going along with this.
- 59:22Yeah, so we've got, we've got some returning cast.
- 59:24Like we've got the mom from the last one.
- 59:26I think her name's Tara. Tara.
- 59:28Yeah, we've got the little trust fund split arm baby boy from
- 59:33Part 5. Guys, we have watched this movie
- 59:36100 fucking times and we just realized that was him the first
- 59:39time last night. And one of the women from the
- 59:43dog pit? Yeah, as well.
- 59:45And you also get the older woman from when it's like you got to
- 59:50choose the old lady here or this guy with the sad life here from
- 59:53Soft Six. Yeah.
- 59:55So, and then there's another woman who's talking about how
- 59:58she had to knock her abusive husband into, like, some lawn
- 1:00:01mowers. And she was like, you know what?
- 1:00:04It took that moment for me to realize he was abusive and I
- 1:00:06need to leave him. And it's really the best thing
- 1:00:10that's ever happened to me. I like how to.
- 1:00:11Just call us her out. She's like, really?
- 1:00:14It took that for you to leave him?
- 1:00:16You know the best thing that's happened to me since I was
- 1:00:17forced to cut off my own arm? Handicap parking at the damn
- 1:00:22mall. Another one of my favorite lines
- 1:00:26I know. Like she grew as an actor.
- 1:00:28In between, she had her time to shine.
- 1:00:31Here I liked. I really appreciate.
- 1:00:33Honestly, I feel like this is the breakout moment this.
- 1:00:35Is as opposed to the first row, yeah.
- 1:00:37Yeah. After I watched this, I was
- 1:00:38like, damn, she fucking killed. That I like that she got a role
- 1:00:41in Gabby's movie too. I know a better role.
- 1:00:44She got. Dialogue.
- 1:00:45Fair they did start off Season 2 Scream Queen, saying Tanedra did
- 1:00:48such a good job they invited her back for.
- 1:00:50Something they didn't make that. They're like we we couldn't not
- 1:00:53have her back. But it's also kind of shitty.
- 1:00:55They're like, all right, so. You're.
- 1:00:56Gonna play a white supremacist. And here's Tanedra getting an
- 1:00:58awesome role here. You're gonna play a white that
- 1:01:00supremacist. You're gonna have no lines
- 1:01:01besides help me, Evan, and then we're gonna squish your head.
- 1:01:03Yeah. But.
- 1:01:04You don't have to worry about a mark.
- 1:01:06You get to be there with Chester Bennett.
- 1:01:07I would, honestly. I might take Chester Bennington.
- 1:01:10Oh, Bennington. I always call him Bennett.
- 1:01:13Well, that doesn't make any sense.
- 1:01:14I'm glad I wrote this note on my hand, because I already forgot
- 1:01:18that we said we were gonna do that.
- 1:01:19Yep. OK, and then you know what else
- 1:01:23happens? Lawrence Gordon A doctor.
- 1:01:26Slow claps. Slow claps and then he breaks
- 1:01:29the 4th wall by saying he sure is glad to be an extra in your
- 1:01:34promotional DVD. I love that.
- 1:01:37Yeah, I like that. He's just straight up.
- 1:01:41The funny thing here is he's calling him out.
- 1:01:43He's like, yeah, you're recording this shit.
- 1:01:44It's so stupid, it's terrible. And then everybody feels so
- 1:01:48awkward about it and they just start slow clapping with him.
- 1:01:51Do we clap? I don't fucking know.
- 1:01:52What to do here isn't like Bobby's.
- 1:01:55Like, I guess this went relatively well even though I
- 1:01:58got called out. Yeah, people are kind of into
- 1:02:00it, OK. So the group concludes, and
- 1:02:03Bobby tells us security, which would he have this big of an
- 1:02:07entourage for his level of celebrity?
- 1:02:10I feel like he like he had an idea of what fame was going to
- 1:02:14be and he was destined to make it that.
- 1:02:16So he's like, I've watched Entourage.
- 1:02:19Wahlberg was part of the series at one point.
- 1:02:21I want to be that. Yeah, so he tells the security
- 1:02:25to take his wife to the car, and then when he walks out there, he
- 1:02:29gets pignapped. Pignapped.
- 1:02:32Gibson's at the morgue and he gets a call about the crash trap
- 1:02:34at the junkyard. And when he gets there, he
- 1:02:37wonders why the display. There's a huge team around them,
- 1:02:40cleaning up everything, gathering evidence and whatnot,
- 1:02:43and in a mirror, it's written Gibson C for yourself.
- 1:02:48And then the reverse bear trap is there.
- 1:02:49Yep. So Bobby wakes up and he's in
- 1:02:52this little cylindrical cage thing, and it turns out he is a
- 1:02:56liar. Liar.
- 1:02:56Pants on fire. You know what?
- 1:02:57He should have been lit on Fire, Pants on Fire.
- 1:03:00That would have been a great saw trap.
- 1:03:02Yeah, like, why him on fire? Why is starting from the pants?
- 1:03:05That would have been perfect. So he has 60 minutes to get
- 1:03:07through the obstacles to his wife.
- 1:03:10So that S and survive is start your life anew.
- 1:03:15He gets his little cage, gets pulled up over some knives, and
- 1:03:18the bottom drops out and he's got to swing to avoid getting
- 1:03:22stabbed. And I wrote that this man has
- 1:03:23played some Donkey Kong Country. Oh yeah, that's man, you guys
- 1:03:27swing on them vines. And there is a flashback to him
- 1:03:30and Kale at the bar. He's got a cute little messy
- 1:03:33hairdo going on. I like this version of Bobby
- 1:03:36better. I thought Joyce liked that
- 1:03:37version of Bobby better, too. Probably.
- 1:03:39Yeah, I bet he was like, working some job and he was unhappy with
- 1:03:42this. I wish, like, and this is the
- 1:03:44background that I imagined for him, that I wish the movie had
- 1:03:46fleshed out where, like, he's working at a job he hates and
- 1:03:49it's like enough for them to pay their bills and, like, go to the
- 1:03:53bar and maybe out to eat once a month or something.
- 1:03:55But like, he's just like a little bit upset with his life.
- 1:03:59And then Kale's like, man, look at this woman who survived her
- 1:04:02trap, and she feels inspired. And he's like they these people
- 1:04:06would be making bank off of this shit if they weren't so fucking
- 1:04:09ruined from the experience. You know that this guy is
- 1:04:12corrupt because he said you can make a mint telling your story
- 1:04:15like. Oh yeah, this dude's scummy.
- 1:04:17People that don't do scams don't say things like make a mint.
- 1:04:22No. So yeah, And they kind of come
- 1:04:25up with that plan. You get that whole thing there,
- 1:04:28so OK. Then he says you understand you
- 1:04:32have problems. But then we cut to Gibson real
- 1:04:34quick. He no gloves.
- 1:04:37The reverse bear trap. He just raw dogs it and corrupts
- 1:04:40all of that shit and pops it in front of Jill and then calls her
- 1:04:44crazy. It's.
- 1:04:46I love his. Like you said that you had the
- 1:04:48fucking bear trap there, but your fucking fingerprints are on
- 1:04:52it. Jill.
- 1:04:52What? Are you crazy?
- 1:04:54Remake of How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days, but with Chad Donnello
- 1:05:02and Betsy Russell as Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson
- 1:05:09Kate. Hudson, you have to give before
- 1:05:11you can, we're saying. It works.
- 1:05:14No Scream Queen style, because Scream Queens from the TV series
- 1:05:19that dude does Matthew. McConaughey, No.
- 1:05:21No, the entire time. Tanidra Howard and Gabby West
- 1:05:25play her friends at the magazine.
- 1:05:27Yeah, Tanidra gets to be Catherine Hahn.
- 1:05:31OK I. Feel like she deserves that
- 1:05:34bubby. Gun is also one of the.
- 1:05:35Yeah, Bubby Gun is one of the sidekicks over at his ad agency.
- 1:05:41Directed by James Gunn. Yes.
- 1:05:44Yeah, it's happening. You know what?
- 1:05:46Can this be Our sequel? It's not really a sequel, and we
- 1:05:48don't do sequels for this for franchisings anyway.
- 1:05:51But I want that to be our sequel.
- 1:05:52That's our sequel. Yeah, that's our pitch.
- 1:05:56Anyway, so explosions happen at the junkyard crime scene, and
- 1:06:00Hoffman sends a tape to Gibson asking for Jill in exchange for
- 1:06:05stopping the game that's currently happening.
- 1:06:07These are some of the most low effort recording tapes in the
- 1:06:10entire Saul series. Yeah, I feel like I could record
- 1:06:13something on my phone and it would be better.
- 1:06:15Yeah, it was just bad. But whatever.
- 1:06:19He's getting this message out there.
- 1:06:20Hoffman's on, like a really tight Yeah, he's got to get
- 1:06:23going. He's got a game going and he's
- 1:06:25trying to like save his own life and he's also trying to murder
- 1:06:29Jill. So there's he's got a lot of
- 1:06:30moving parts. It's got to be really stressful
- 1:06:32being a jigsaw killer. I can't imagine that's got to.
- 1:06:35That's too much on. Your he doesn't have very good
- 1:06:37work life balance. No, he does not.
- 1:06:40OK, so redefine your priorities. Nina, his publicist, is set up.
- 1:06:48This is where we found out that she's been his publicist for
- 1:06:51years. And then I was like years,
- 1:06:52years. Yeah, this has been happening
- 1:06:54for years. That doesn't make any sense, The
- 1:06:56timeline. Yes, we've lost all sense of the
- 1:06:58timeline, which that's it's just going to get worse as we go on,
- 1:07:02which is bound to happen with a franchise.
- 1:07:04Don't get me wrong, at some point we're going to talk about
- 1:07:06Texas Chainsaw and it's going to be a mess.
- 1:07:07Well, this one right here is just like the the whole series
- 1:07:09has been very consistent like it's been 1 running timeline the
- 1:07:13entire time, yes. And then you go and make that
- 1:07:15statement and it just doesn't make any.
- 1:07:17Function. Yeah, it.
- 1:07:17Doesn't make any sense because we know canonically that this is
- 1:07:20supposed to have happened right after the ending of Six.
- 1:07:22And Six was not that long after the ending of Five.
- 1:07:26Yeah, and like, the dude, the trust fund kid from Part 5 is
- 1:07:30still in a sling in the support group.
- 1:07:32Which is how we caught him. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:07:35Yeah. So it can't have been more than
- 1:07:37a few months. Like, there's no way that he's
- 1:07:39been doing this for years. It just doesn't make sense.
- 1:07:43So we I'm John Kramer and this is the Silent Fish Hook.
- 1:07:49I was thinking about it like a. Jacket spent the entire time.
- 1:07:53Dude, this would be Stevo's ultimate like, swap.
- 1:07:55Song right here. Yeah dude.
- 1:07:57Yeah, dude. I mean, his voice is fucked up
- 1:07:59and not. A key to Get Me Out of this
- 1:08:02deadly trap. And if we don't in time, may
- 1:08:05vocal cords get pierced forever and also is not official?
- 1:08:09And then Pontius is the Pontius and Knoxville are taking turns
- 1:08:12pulling it. They rip it out and.
- 1:08:14Like he's like, whoa, I'm talking.
- 1:08:16Yeah, and what? The wow.
- 1:08:18Oh, and they're like, hey, look at this little flesh on here.
- 1:08:21It looks like it's a vocal node. Yeah.
- 1:08:24Oh God. Like, damn dude, you had some
- 1:08:27shit down there this whole time. OK, so like, the whole thing is
- 1:08:30like, they have to fish out this whole thing with the the key,
- 1:08:33with the fish hook. And if she makes any sounds, it
- 1:08:36causes the like little needles to, like, Pierce her neck.
- 1:08:40So we had a little decibel measurer in our lunchroom in
- 1:08:47elementary school. And if it got because if it got
- 1:08:50too loud, we got cups on our table about how loud we were
- 1:08:54allowed to talk. So if it got too loud, we got a
- 1:08:56red cup on our table. Seriously.
- 1:08:58Yes. Stupid.
- 1:08:59Yeah. And I remember very distinctly
- 1:09:01because it was one day in second grade, I was still in both of my
- 1:09:04casts. And another kid who had broken
- 1:09:06his arm was in a cast as well. And my friend Jessica, same
- 1:09:11name, That's part of how we bonded.
- 1:09:13She wasn't there that day. So I'm sitting with Nick, and I
- 1:09:16already had complicated feelings about Nick because he was a good
- 1:09:19guy, but he never got made fun of for having a pink lunch box
- 1:09:21that I got made fun of having a blue lunch box and it just
- 1:09:24shows. Anyway, we were at the lunch
- 1:09:29table and he punctured his milk pouch because Milka served in
- 1:09:33pouches in Tennessee and he punctured it.
- 1:09:37And I went Oh no. And he went Oh no.
- 1:09:39And then a teacher came over and flipped over a red cup on our
- 1:09:42table and we weren't allowed to talk for the rest of lunch.
- 1:09:45That was like that was 2 seconds away from becoming a Kool-aid
- 1:09:50commercial. Oh yeah.
- 1:10:01All right, anyways. I used to puncture those on
- 1:10:03purpose because then you could get a second milk pouch, but if
- 1:10:07you punctured it in the tray you could still drink it through the
- 1:10:11straw, so you got like extra chocolate milk you.
- 1:10:14Can cut this. This isn't even relevant.
- 1:10:17Or you can leave this in if you want to keep some like weird
- 1:10:20stories from school in here. But I remember like one time I
- 1:10:23was on a field trip on the boys choir and one of the guys, they
- 1:10:27got like a fountain drink. There's a phone drink and you
- 1:10:30know, big drink. And he was happy about it and he
- 1:10:32was walking back to the bus to go get it.
- 1:10:34And one of the boys just like kind of like walked over to him
- 1:10:36and he just like took his me and went.
- 1:10:38Like up. Like the fucking bottom of the
- 1:10:41cup. And then all just went just
- 1:10:43pouring out from the bottom. I'm sorry, I.
- 1:10:51Don't know. It's such a tangent.
- 1:10:52But I don't even care because this movie is so silly anyway.
- 1:10:57So we're coming back from quad state band my friend.
- 1:11:01We stopped at the Beaver Dam press stop which if you're if
- 1:11:05you've ever been in Western Kentucky everybody knows the
- 1:11:07Beaver Dam rest stop. So we're at the RV's and it's
- 1:11:10like 850. They close at 9:00 and our band
- 1:11:14director's like, please eat quickly, we gotta go And I'm so
- 1:11:17sick of you teenagers. And we get our food.
- 1:11:22My friend knocks over his extra large coke.
- 1:11:25Onto the floor. And you can see the person
- 1:11:28behind the register die inside and they go and get the Mama kit
- 1:11:34and they start mopping it up and we're cleaning up and our vendor
- 1:11:37are just like get on the bus, we gotta go and we're like, bye,
- 1:11:40thanks for the food. And on the way out, my friend,
- 1:11:42the same one that knocked over his tree, kicks the mop bucket.
- 1:11:48No, no, no way. Oh, I feel so bad.
- 1:11:54I think about that every time we go to Western Kentucky and
- 1:11:57stuff. And.
- 1:11:58People never like. I wonder if they still remember
- 1:12:01this. I wonder if that story has like,
- 1:12:03traveled down the ages. Like.
- 1:12:05These asshole kids skin in here. That person is now like a
- 1:12:09grizzled manager at an Arby's. Over there they've they've seen
- 1:12:12some shit. They run the mafia Arby's down
- 1:12:14the street from our house. All right, we're way off base.
- 1:12:17We gotta get back on track. All right, all right.
- 1:12:19I'm. Leaving all of the same because
- 1:12:21these are all amazing stories. OK, OK, so Joyce, like or not
- 1:12:25Joyce, this girl dies because, like, yeah, she takes out like a
- 1:12:29whole chunk of shit off her throat.
- 1:12:30And why could you just? And here's the thing.
- 1:12:34I get why she's screaming. Because a lot of her tummy skin
- 1:12:39was pulled out. He just, like, put his hand over
- 1:12:41her. Mouth, yeah.
- 1:12:42And she he had the key. He was unlocking it.
- 1:12:46There was enough time for him to unlock it, but she wouldn't stop
- 1:12:49screaming. And so the little decibel meter
- 1:12:52was up so high and it just peered straight throughout.
- 1:12:54So I. Mean.
- 1:12:55That one's right. It's kind of like impossible to
- 1:12:57win. Like, that's just you can't help
- 1:12:59from screaming from something. Like that, and she's going to
- 1:13:00have so much internal bleeding. Yeah.
- 1:13:03OK, flashback to book signing. Yes.
- 1:13:05And we get some impeccable de aging technology where a young
- 1:13:08John Kramer guess his signature in.
- 1:13:12This book. Bobby.
- 1:13:12Because yeah, Bobby is like continuing on and he finds the
- 1:13:15book that was autographed to John that day, OK.
- 1:13:20So I have a lot of notes about this.
- 1:13:22OK. Cuz the 1st is the person in
- 1:13:24front of John is Sarah without an H I'm like OK, fair, that's
- 1:13:28an important thing. I specify how to spell Jesse all
- 1:13:31the time this way so she, you know, talks about how much the
- 1:13:34book means for and then she leaves and then John comes up
- 1:13:36and he goes John with or without an H doesn't matter.
- 1:13:39And Bobby, instead of being like, I want to write your name,
- 1:13:41Craig, he goes, all right, we'll do it with an H this time, cuz
- 1:13:44he's an asshole. He's like this, just going on
- 1:13:46eBay. I don't give a shit.
- 1:13:48Yeah, so. And then I saw behind him, he's
- 1:13:51got his little banner. You know how they do it, like
- 1:13:53conventions and yeah, signings and all of that.
- 1:13:55And it's like Bobby Dagan and he looks like Michael Scott in his
- 1:13:59like, mock cover for somehow I manage.
- 1:14:01And he's like, you were so right.
- 1:14:04Oh my God, you were so right. Yeah, you know, he doesn't know
- 1:14:09what the fuck to do. He's just like, what the fuck do
- 1:14:11I do with my hands? And then John takes off the book
- 1:14:14cover, the slip cover thing, the that goes over top of it, and he
- 1:14:18tosses it. Bobby goes, we've met.
- 1:14:20Don't need your picture. Yeah, he's.
- 1:14:21Awesome. And then what?
- 1:14:22Do I do with this? Someone was like, you know what,
- 1:14:24Like something about the old days, people lying.
- 1:14:27Something, something. They'd be public, whatever.
- 1:14:29I don't. Know fucking now?
- 1:14:30Yeah, Egyptians being publicly. Ridiculed for being publicly
- 1:14:35whatever. Yeah, he's gonna kill you.
- 1:14:37Whatever. That's basically what he's
- 1:14:38getting to here. Which how much shit do you think
- 1:14:41John actually makes up versus how much do you think he knows?
- 1:14:43Because he's clearly a very smart man and I don't take that
- 1:14:45away from him. But also I wonder if it's like
- 1:14:47you know the Sylvester Stallone of it all.
- 1:14:49They call them Skippy. It's because when they're up in
- 1:14:52the. Air.
- 1:14:52That's that's that's a fucking God.
- 1:14:58Steven Seagal. Steven Seagal.
- 1:14:59Sylvester Stallone's legit. Oh, OK.
- 1:15:02Sorry, Steven Seagal. OK, well, we're like, OK, Bobby
- 1:15:07goes into the next room. We still got 44 minutes of this
- 1:15:09shit. I know.
- 1:15:12So Billy busted him through the room in 3D and he's got to lift
- 1:15:17like bars over to save somebody from like by slowing down the
- 1:15:22circuits. I don't know.
- 1:15:23Like, I don't fucking. Understand.
- 1:15:24Yeah. He's got to do a calf raise,
- 1:15:28basically. Yeah.
- 1:15:28And. Like when he does that, it's
- 1:15:30going on. This is the I This is the eye of
- 1:15:33it or the V the verify yourself worth through commitment.
- 1:15:37Yes, OK. So he's got to save his lawyer,
- 1:15:40who is like being slowly rotated up towards the spike for her
- 1:15:43eyes and mouth, and he's got to do a calf raise and that's all
- 1:15:47he's got to do. When he does the calf raise, he
- 1:15:49gets poked in the ribs a little bit a.
- 1:15:51Little bit. He gets a little bit stabbed
- 1:15:52right in his. Ribs.
- 1:15:53Yeah, that shit looks like it hurts, but like, I feel like I
- 1:15:55would be able to hold that. Yeah, like it sucks for sure.
- 1:15:58I just I pointed out to Travis last night that his kill to miss
- 1:16:04ratio is lower than Jeff's. Yeah, for sure.
- 1:16:08Yeah. I oh, God, man.
- 1:16:10Yeah, I don't like. I feel like he could have done
- 1:16:13so well with us right here. Like this one right here.
- 1:16:15Didn't seem too bad. Just like, use the adrenaline
- 1:16:18man. Harness that shit.
- 1:16:19He has no adrenaline, 'cause I he feels nothing.
- 1:16:22Yeah, he's a psychopath. Well, he fells and his wire gets
- 1:16:27stabbed in the eye and mouth. That's very.
- 1:16:29Brutal, yeah. So we had APOV shot on the eye
- 1:16:31stakes and I said that they went to the Lucio Fulchi School of
- 1:16:37eye penetration, but they didn't pass the final because when the
- 1:16:41we didn't see the actual eye penetration we saw like the
- 1:16:44close up towards it. You see it not.
- 1:16:47Fulchi would not be happy with that.
- 1:16:50No, he would have done way more with that he.
- 1:16:52Yeah, he was like, we didn't see any.
- 1:16:54We didn't see it like. Pierce the eye like we.
- 1:16:56Just saw it kind of go into the eye socket, yeah.
- 1:16:59You're right. Yeah, he would have done way
- 1:17:01better with that. OK, so Gibson asks Jill about
- 1:17:05Bobby if she knows him, and then he gets another mpeg from
- 1:17:09Hoffman saying something about being at a crossroads and
- 1:17:12there's a new dawn. I didn't understand at the time,
- 1:17:15but like, as soon as he watched that video, it's like a fucking
- 1:17:18got it. And then he's like, all right,
- 1:17:19let's go, Rogers. Yeah.
- 1:17:20So apparently Hoffman has like a past with this guy, which we'll
- 1:17:23find out in a minute. I ignore your inner demons.
- 1:17:28I think that's what it said. I kind of missed it when it was
- 1:17:31written and I was like, that sounds right.
- 1:17:33So Bobby, I wrote that That's a rough name to shout, because we
- 1:17:38go through this with Jaw Joyride 2, where her fiance's name is
- 1:17:42Bobby. She's going.
- 1:17:43Bobby Bobby. It's just not a name that you
- 1:17:45can really like, scream and tear easily.
- 1:17:47No, it always sounds. Kind of.
- 1:17:49Stupid say. Bob.
- 1:17:50Bob. Robert.
- 1:17:51Bobby. Robert, Robert Yeah.
- 1:17:53No, that that's that's got a little bit more gravity.
- 1:17:56Too. Yeah, yeah, Robert, they've got
- 1:17:58to play the worst team building game on the planet, which is one
- 1:18:01of them's I. Did you say it was Kel?
- 1:18:04Yeah, OK. It's.
- 1:18:05Kale. Yeah, it's kale.
- 1:18:06Buddy. Yeah, so they're in a room on
- 1:18:08the 2nd floor, at least the 2nd floor.
- 1:18:10And the floor is mostly knocked out.
- 1:18:14Kale's on one side, Bobby's on the other.
- 1:18:15There's. Like wooden planks.
- 1:18:17And there's wooden planks. Yeah, the floor is mostly
- 1:18:19gutted, Kale is in a blindfold, and Bobby's got to guide him
- 1:18:23across like a very bad team building game.
- 1:18:26And then I wrote have these planks been tested for
- 1:18:29durability? And as soon as I wrote that,
- 1:18:31Kale busts through one of them. No, OK, I want to give the guy
- 1:18:34that played kale props here because he played this shit
- 1:18:37well. He played like, scared, like
- 1:18:40he's got like the nervous, like taps of like.
- 1:18:42I believed it, yeah. If I.
- 1:18:44Found. Out that Dean Armstrong actually
- 1:18:45died filming this scene, I would be.
- 1:18:47Good. Yeah.
- 1:18:49So it made me think of like Cutthroat Kitchen, which if you
- 1:18:52don't know, it's a Food Network show hosted by Alton Brown.
- 1:18:54And they've got like, it's a cooking show, but they can
- 1:18:57sabotage the other players with things like if you're making a
- 1:18:59Philly cheese steak, you can take away the the other player's
- 1:19:02cheese. And they have to get it from,
- 1:19:04like, I don't like Doritos or something.
- 1:19:08So one of the things about that show is that they test all of
- 1:19:12the sabotages. They do.
- 1:19:13They have people make sure that it can be done, that they can
- 1:19:16make the food. Yeah.
- 1:19:17They wanna make sure that it's plausible.
- 1:19:18Oh, I didn't know that. Yeah.
- 1:19:19They don't want somebody to just like absolutely fail because
- 1:19:21it's dud of a sabotage or because they went too wild.
- 1:19:23They actually test all of them to make sure that it's doable.
- 1:19:26And I was like, then I sat there and I started wondering how
- 1:19:29vetted all of the saw traps are. Because I know, like, John
- 1:19:32Kramer's like an engineer, but I'm like, how much is he testing
- 1:19:34all this stuff? Is he doing like a Mythbusters
- 1:19:36thing where they've got like the dummy and he's like testing the
- 1:19:38weight and everything? So I went through like a whole
- 1:19:40rabbit hole while this whole scene was going.
- 1:19:42Down at. This point, it's not John Kramer
- 1:19:43anymore. It's Hoffman who has been like
- 1:19:47he's on record as being bad at this shit.
- 1:19:49Yeah, like he he passed his engineering class but only
- 1:19:53because he cheated off the nerd that he then like swear lead as
- 1:19:55soon as the class was over he. Copied off that paper.
- 1:19:58Yeah, So yeah, Kill dies. He just, like, falls right off
- 1:20:02of there. No, he doesn't fall.
- 1:20:03He gets. Yeah, he gets yanked up and then
- 1:20:05he gets hanged by his new. Yeah, cuz Bobby makes the bold
- 1:20:09decision to toss the key to a blind man.
- 1:20:12Only couldn't cut it as blind man.
- 1:20:17He talked. He had five seconds left.
- 1:20:19Man. There's no way he was gonna get
- 1:20:20it to him any other. Way it was a Hail Mary and I get
- 1:20:22that, But like, it was also kind of a bad choice on Bobby's part
- 1:20:27because he said pull your hands closer to your chest and then it
- 1:20:30bounced off of Kale's chest so his hands had been where they
- 1:20:33originally were. He was just doomed.
- 1:20:35He was. He was not going to survive that
- 1:20:37one right there. All right, so give some busts
- 1:20:39into the warehouse where Hoffman recorded the last video.
- 1:20:42It was known as the Crossroads, the cross where that line from
- 1:20:45the video came in and he said this is when I was a rookie cop.
- 1:20:48Hoffman came in and saved me because a drug dealer was
- 1:20:50attacking me, but he. Shot the guy 6.
- 1:20:52Times. You shot him six times.
- 1:20:54And I was like, he didn't really have, like, yeah, he assaulted
- 1:20:56me, but he didn't have to do that.
- 1:20:58And so I reported to him to Eternal Affairs, And then he
- 1:21:01bullied me until I eventually transferred to Internal Affairs
- 1:21:04myself. And it was like, Roger's like,
- 1:21:06OK, what happened after you told him?
- 1:21:07I was like, whoa, he got promoted and I got transferred.
- 1:21:10So, like, it didn't really go too well.
- 1:21:12Yeah, but then he was like, oh, that guy was a man from Clear
- 1:21:16Dawn psychiatrics facility. So that must be where the game's
- 1:21:19going on. That's the other part of the
- 1:21:21line. OK, So Bobby has to pull his
- 1:21:25teeth from the back of his mouth to find the combo, to the lock,
- 1:21:28to get through to where Joyce is.
- 1:21:31And at this point, Joyce can see him, he can see her, and he's
- 1:21:34like. I don't want you to watch.
- 1:21:36This and it's like, well, I mean it's like I've.
- 1:21:38Already some fucked up shit she's been watching this entire.
- 1:21:40Game. She's seen all of it.
- 1:21:42I saw you pull a hook out of a woman's throat.
- 1:21:44Like, yeah, that was pretty fucked up.
- 1:21:45I was friends with her. Yeah, like if you're Nina and I
- 1:21:48regularly went to yoga together, not.
- 1:21:50Only thinking about this so you pointed out I didn't notice
- 1:21:52before, but like when he pulls out one of his teeth, like the
- 1:21:56nerve is still attached. Yeah, like, oh God damn dude.
- 1:21:59Also there was like this whole like excruciating scene of him
- 1:22:02like banging his hand up against the wall to try and get the
- 1:22:04tooth out and he still doesn't with the pliers and he has to
- 1:22:07reach in and just yank it out himself.
- 1:22:09It's so bad. And somehow the blood is only in
- 1:22:12a neat line down the front of him.
- 1:22:13And he's not screaming in pain. Like after he pulls out the
- 1:22:16teeth he's spun, he's like, hey, yeah, all right, I did.
- 1:22:21Save all that dental cut. I had to give for me to be able
- 1:22:25to receive. So the swat is at the building
- 1:22:29and the MPEG IP was traced to the junkyard where the game was
- 1:22:35played. It's.
- 1:22:36Auto body. So at the junkyard, they find a
- 1:22:40hidden tunnel behind the mirror where that, like, first note to
- 1:22:42Gibson was written. And so they bust through very
- 1:22:45Candyman style. Meanwhile, we see Bobby embrace
- 1:22:50every day as if it is your last. And the tape confuses Joyce.
- 1:22:55Bless you, because she was like, wait, you've never been in a
- 1:22:58game. This is your first game.
- 1:23:00You're a rookie. I don't like this.
- 1:23:01I don't like my odds here. It's like, I never bet on the
- 1:23:04rookies. You know that we're in deep debt
- 1:23:06because of my gambling. That's why you may have this
- 1:23:10whole thing in the first like, shit.
- 1:23:12I feel so Bever in this scene here too, because she's learning
- 1:23:15that her husband is like, a fucking fraud and then she's
- 1:23:18probably gonna die because he doesn't like, he's gonna like,
- 1:23:21fuck this shit up, obviously. Yeah, I wrote that, he
- 1:23:24confesses. And because I knew the ending of
- 1:23:27it, I was like, he confesses, then fills the game because he's
- 1:23:29a trifling asshole. I do love this, though.
- 1:23:32That, like, Jigsaw was like, all right, motherfucker, you said
- 1:23:36you did this shit. Let's put it to the test.
- 1:23:37You actually do it then. Here's the thing.
- 1:23:40We debated the plausibility of if this is doable or not last
- 1:23:43night, because they're implying that it isn't plausible in the
- 1:23:45movie to have your weight supported by the pectoral
- 1:23:49muscles while also plugging it in.
- 1:23:50But we've watched Dave Navarro swing over a crowd in Las Vegas
- 1:23:55while telling us to live Moss. Yeah, so.
- 1:23:59Taco Bell. Just saying.
- 1:24:02I mean, I feel like it's possible.
- 1:24:04Yeah, it's it's doable. I mean, I don't know.
- 1:24:07Dave Navarro also weighs significantly less.
- 1:24:09Than this guy was going to say, I feel like if they'd cast Dave
- 1:24:12Navarro, he would have been like, all right.
- 1:24:14And then like, actually Pearson's on.
- 1:24:15They're like, no, no. No.
- 1:24:16Like we have we're. Going to.
- 1:24:17Effects people here, yeah. Come on, man.
- 1:24:21So meanwhile, Pete's auto body, they find a hooded figure in a
- 1:24:26room surrounded by computers, and they assume it's Hoffman
- 1:24:28because they're stupid. They they haven't read any of
- 1:24:31the other jigsaw case files, and it's actually one of the Nazis.
- 1:24:35And they're like because Hoffman switched out himself for that
- 1:24:42Nazi in the body bag I was. Going to say, to be fair though,
- 1:24:45there has been one instance where that actually did end up
- 1:24:47being Jigsaw and that was in the first one.
- 1:24:50That's true. They actually did catch him
- 1:24:51there by surprise. So then he broke himself out.
- 1:24:55Yeah, he won it, but it's still like, you know, it's possible to
- 1:24:58actually catch. Him, I guess.
- 1:25:00That's a fairpoint. That's a fairpoint.
- 1:25:01Anyway, we see Hoffman arting the the autopsy, the forensic
- 1:25:07topologist. I love that.
- 1:25:08Like he unzips it and then he's just like surprise motherfucker.
- 1:25:11And just stands him. Right in the neck.
- 1:25:13And this is where Hoffman goes. Full blown splasher and I love
- 1:25:17every fucking minute of this. Yeah, so he's like killing the
- 1:25:20person that traced the IP address, 'cause she is like
- 1:25:23trying to call Gibson, but Gibson and Rogers are getting
- 1:25:26shot down because there's like a little like the automatic
- 1:25:29machine gun that Jigsaw loves, I guess.
- 1:25:31It feels like the autopsy dude too.
- 1:25:32He kills like 5 fucking people in this scene.
- 1:25:34Yeah, he just goes on. I want to tear through this.
- 1:25:36It's very Satan's little helper or the the hitcher.
- 1:25:40Yeah, yeah. I love the move that he does
- 1:25:44where he stabs the woman and then like he like knocks on the
- 1:25:47door and he takes. Her corpse.
- 1:25:48Yeah, he's like here's. Her face right there and they're
- 1:25:50like, OK, it's cool. And then they unlock it and he
- 1:25:52just busts it and starts fucking them up to.
- 1:25:54Yeah, so he gets to Jill Cell and she ends up stabbing him and
- 1:25:58then she runs. Rogers like in the eye there,
- 1:26:00too. Yeah, like Rogers is dead now.
- 1:26:03No, Rogers is the crime scene. That's a different call.
- 1:26:05No Rogers. Was Gibson, Yeah.
- 1:26:07Oh, OK, well then whatever. He shoots that dude.
- 1:26:10So yeah, he's got. And this is where it's very
- 1:26:13obvious that they are not filming this shit together.
- 1:26:17This is where we started rewinding.
- 1:26:18Like, OK, that's a body. Double.
- 1:26:19That's a body double. Hold on before we get to that,
- 1:26:22because we cut to the dramatic finish of Joyce and Bobby.
- 1:26:26Is that before that? This is all happening in
- 1:26:29between. OK, before because we're going
- 1:26:31to wrap up with Hoffman and Jill.
- 1:26:33Gotcha. Gotcha.
- 1:26:33OK, so before that, Bobby can't do the thing.
- 1:26:36He falls. He doesn't have enough time to
- 1:26:38climb up there again. And I wrote because this is a
- 1:26:41version of the bronze bowl, which is where, like, people
- 1:26:46would be put in a bronze bowl and burned a lot.
- 1:26:49Except it's a pig. So I called it the Iron Ham, and
- 1:26:53I wrote that Joyce was doomed to eternal Ham nation.
- 1:26:58Jesse, come on, I'll give you some props for those.
- 1:27:01That's pretty good. Thank.
- 1:27:04You. I'm conflicted on that.
- 1:27:06I wrote it in all caps. Good job.
- 1:27:10Thank you. I'm happy.
- 1:27:12So anyway, this is where we come back to Hoffman and Jill, and
- 1:27:19they're clearly does. He survive.
- 1:27:22Seems like it. We never see him again and.
- 1:27:25We've never. Seen him again come back in the.
- 1:27:26Series there is. They didn't completely kill him
- 1:27:28off. Somehow, this triathlon SO gets
- 1:27:31to live on. She dies.
- 1:27:33Yep. He lives.
- 1:27:34That's fucked up. He's got.
- 1:27:35I guess he's got to live with it.
- 1:27:36That's worse. And death.
- 1:27:37Is it? Cuz I feel like Joyce's death
- 1:27:39was kind of worse. You're right.
- 1:27:43For him. He's probably like, oh, no, OK,
- 1:27:45I'm OK. Yeah.
- 1:27:46Oh my tits kind of hurt. You'd want you'd want me to move
- 1:27:50on. OK, so yeah, so Hoffman ends up
- 1:27:57catching up to jail, and he sees the two reverse bear traps.
- 1:28:01One is clearly newer than the other, so he takes the older
- 1:28:03one, which is Amanda's original one.
- 1:28:06Yes, he but sit on gel and we see it in action and it's just a
- 1:28:13big gaping hole in her face. Get the face chunks flying at
- 1:28:17you in 3D though. Yep, that's a new thing.
- 1:28:21So Hoffman burns the whole like, workshop and whatnot, and he
- 1:28:25goes out and I wrote that he gets porksecuted.
- 1:28:29By the Three Little Pigs. By the Three Little Pigs.
- 1:28:32Yeah, which are Warren Gordon, a doctor?
- 1:28:37A doctor. Also, the bubbies from the
- 1:28:40intro. Oh.
- 1:28:41Was that the? Bubbies.
- 1:28:42The bobbies, dude. The two little dudes that were
- 1:28:44in like the little Love dispute. Yeah, the little Dutch boys,
- 1:28:48yeah. I don't know why they're
- 1:28:50involved, but yeah, they're like, OK, fuck it.
- 1:28:52Like you guys join us too I guess.
- 1:28:54So then this is where we found out that Orange Grinna Dr. has
- 1:28:56been involved the entire time. He's done all of the medical
- 1:28:59stuff. So you remember in Part 2 when
- 1:29:00there's a key behind somebody's eye, that was it.
- 1:29:03You remember when there's a key in Williams ribs That was him,
- 1:29:06and he remember when there's a key in Nina's tummy.
- 1:29:11When they had to stitch up that one dude's eyes.
- 1:29:14That was him. Yeah.
- 1:29:15So yeah, Like jigsaw, like nursed him to health, fitted him
- 1:29:20with a prosthetic, very hook Hobie style.
- 1:29:22Jack Richard fans will get it, yeah.
- 1:29:26So he was told to act on John's behalf.
- 1:29:30If something were to ever happen to Jill, he said, act on his
- 1:29:32behalf immediately. And this was very immediate
- 1:29:36like. He fucking like he was.
- 1:29:38He following him? Could he not have just?
- 1:29:40Stopped him from killing Jill. I like he still has like some
- 1:29:44hatred to John and he's like, all right.
- 1:29:47I will avenge her, but I will also let her die.
- 1:29:50Yeah, like. You said if something happens to
- 1:29:53her, I'm not going to like. I'm not going to prevent it from
- 1:29:55happening. But if it does, I'll do it sure.
- 1:29:57Should be Lawrence Gordon a lawyer, am I right?
- 1:30:01And he takes him and he takes him back to the bathroom from
- 1:30:05the first Saw movie and he locks him up where Adam was.
- 1:30:08And then this time he takes the Saw.
- 1:30:10He's like, you're not getting this one, buddy.
- 1:30:13And then? Costas asks Carrie.
- 1:30:16This is not the characters asking one another.
- 1:30:18Costas asks Carrie what the fuck he's doing.
- 1:30:22This is. My French fries, I'm jigsaw.
- 1:30:25And curious like, no, I got brought back for this.
- 1:30:28One, You're not jigsaw, bitch. You're not jigsaw.
- 1:30:32Like, you know what? You don't like?
- 1:30:33The 3D 3D toss. He tosses the saw in 3D down the
- 1:30:38hallway and we get a lot of 3D with it too.
- 1:30:41And then? The most 30 of the whole movie.
- 1:30:43He tells Hoffman game over, and then he slams the door.
- 1:30:47And then that's it. And you know what?
- 1:30:51For right now, and this is goodbye for Hoffman.
- 1:30:53Will we see a waiter? I don't know.
- 1:30:54But I will say one thing. We don't see a body.
- 1:30:59Do not see a body. If saw has taught us anything,
- 1:31:01if you don't see that body. If you are not, if they are not
- 1:31:04confirmed dead and you see it on your screen, that doesn't mean
- 1:31:09that they're dead. It does not.
- 1:31:10And it even if you do see that, that doesn't mean they can't
- 1:31:12come back. Exactly, yeah.
- 1:31:14People have come back from death plenty of times, so we may see
- 1:31:19him again. Maybe in a backwards ball cap?
- 1:31:22Maybe in a backwards ball cap. I'm I'm looking forward to that.
- 1:31:25There has to be a big. Ball cap, because his Mandalore
- 1:31:27has a large head. No offense to him.
- 1:31:28I also have a large head. So.
- 1:31:30Yeah, he can rock and do these fucking coasts, all right?
- 1:31:33And that's it. That's it for S 88 and a half
- 1:31:36eight and a half 8 1/2. I'm.
- 1:31:37I'm bumping it. OK, I'll keep my 8:00. 8.25.
- 1:31:43I I really, really like this one.
- 1:31:45It's just so fucking stupid and fun.
- 1:31:48Yeah, like, you don't have to think about it.
- 1:31:49Just enjoy the ride. And that's all I want from this
- 1:31:51movie. Yeah, Ty had to go out at 4
- 1:31:54minutes and 10 seconds and at 28 minutes and 35 seconds, so that
- 1:31:58automatically takes her down to an 8, right?
- 1:32:00However, she spent the next 40 minutes squeaking Ralphie, and
- 1:32:04that's her loudest, squeakiest toy.
- 1:32:06And that's as annoying as it was.
- 1:32:09It's a compliment. Yeah, she was having a great
- 1:32:11time. So I think that bumps it up.
- 1:32:13A whole point for how long she was squeaking and the fact that
- 1:32:15it was Ralphie. So Tally's giving it a nine.
- 1:32:17She was feeling it. She.
- 1:32:18Had a great time. And guess what?
- 1:32:20So we watched it. Sometimes she was on my lap, but
- 1:32:22most importantly, sometimes she was on Lawrence Gordon Shark
- 1:32:26bed. Yeah, we actually.
- 1:32:28Have a little like. Squish Mellow bed.
- 1:32:31Yeah, so Squish Mellow makes pet beds and we bought a cat bed one
- 1:32:35for them for the cats for Christmas.
- 1:32:38And it's shaped like a shark because Telly has a toy shark
- 1:32:41and we thought it would be cute. And when we got it in the mail
- 1:32:44it was labeled as Gordon the Shark.
- 1:32:46Yeah, so we've been referring to it as Lawrence Gordon, the Shark
- 1:32:49Bed, so and. There's also an explosion.
- 1:32:53And there were, yeah, there was an explosion.
- 1:32:54She's, she had a really good time.
- 1:32:55And then we watched Final Destination and as we know,
- 1:32:57there's a very infamous explosion in that.
- 1:33:00She was. She had a very good night last
- 1:33:01night and we're about to watch Fast and Furious after we record
- 1:33:04this. So explosions, just a good time.
- 1:33:08It's a good time for Zoe this weekend.
- 1:33:10Yeah. All right.
- 1:33:11So good, Good stuff from the pets.
- 1:33:14All right. So who did you relate to?
- 1:33:18That's a very good question. I think I relate to Tanidra at
- 1:33:25group therapy because I remember going to group therapy in
- 1:33:29college right after my apartment had been broken into.
- 1:33:31And I was like, this has honestly been one of my worst
- 1:33:34fears. It's a home invasion.
- 1:33:35And they're like, now you know, you can survive one of your
- 1:33:37worst fears. I was like, no, now I know one
- 1:33:39of my worst fears can actually happen to me.
- 1:33:41Like, now I know I wasn't present for when that shit
- 1:33:44happened, and I might die if I'm actually there.
- 1:33:47And they were like, that's not the turn we excited.
- 1:33:49Granted it wasn't like the therapist that said it, it was
- 1:33:51one of the other group members. So yeah, I definitely I related
- 1:33:54to SNEEDRA. OK, God, man, who the fuck did I
- 1:33:57relate to in this movie? There's some wild characters
- 1:34:00this time around. God, I'm going to make it good.
- 1:34:11I think something, it wasn't confirmed, but something tells
- 1:34:17me that Adam was still there in that bathroom.
- 1:34:20And I'm going to relate to Adam because if I could be locked and
- 1:34:25chained to death in our bathroom with any one person other than
- 1:34:29you, it would be Costas. I would, you know, we'd we'd
- 1:34:35make some fun out of it. It'd be like scary stories, cuz
- 1:34:38it's dark. Yeah.
- 1:34:40And yeah, we'd have some good time.
- 1:34:42OK. We'd just die together, OK?
- 1:34:44Yeah. There's like no other good
- 1:34:47person. They're.
- 1:34:47Really too in this movie? And I did not have any therapy.
- 1:34:51OK. That's fair.
- 1:34:52That's fair. And I ain't a grifter.
- 1:34:55Not that boy. I hope not.
- 1:34:56I don't want to be sent to eternal Ham nation because of
- 1:34:59you. Yeah, I don't want to do that to
- 1:35:01you either. OK, new tagline since we don't
- 1:35:07do dream sequel, but we kind of pitched.
- 1:35:08No, no, no. Instead of dream sequel for this
- 1:35:12we've been doing Which trap would you survive?
- 1:35:13Which trap? OK.
- 1:35:14So we've got the Saw one from the opening there.
- 1:35:21But that one doesn't. Count.
- 1:35:22OK. Yeah, that one.
- 1:35:24'S I thought you meant like the flashback at the very opening,
- 1:35:27The love. Triangle, Yeah.
- 1:35:29Yeah. OK.
- 1:35:30So we've got that one. That one's easy.
- 1:35:31Like, I can survive that one. Like I already said, just like,
- 1:35:35move it in between Dina and one of the dudes and somebody's
- 1:35:39gonna get a little cut up. But everybody can survive that.
- 1:35:42Let's go through. Let's entertain the rest of it.
- 1:35:44OK, so then we've got the the swinging over the knives.
- 1:35:48Yeah, we've got the neck piercing Silent Fish hook.
- 1:35:52I couldn't do that one. We've got the the Calf raise of
- 1:35:56doom. I could do that.
- 1:35:58One, and then we've got the iron ham.
- 1:36:01Which now and you also got. To throw out Iron Ham, because
- 1:36:03that doesn't count. Kales.
- 1:36:05Kales. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:36:07Worst team building. Yeah, that one I'm not making.
- 1:36:10No, that one's that one feels I. Don't feel like I could walk
- 1:36:13across those boards without a blindfold.
- 1:36:15So never mind with a blindfold, yeah.
- 1:36:16In 60. Seconds.
- 1:36:17No, that's just not happening. So yeah, I think, I think I
- 1:36:21could do the calf raises because I've been doing calf raises
- 1:36:23since I was three years old because my dance teacher OK, so
- 1:36:26I could handle the calf raises. All right, so we got the love
- 1:36:30triangle and the calf raises. Yeah, OK.
- 1:36:32OK. So I'm very curious to see what
- 1:36:34everybody says when we put out the pole.
- 1:36:36This weekend, too. Yeah.
- 1:36:37And we'll have those results next week.
- 1:36:40All right, So time for a new tagline.
- 1:36:43OK. I hear Ty, you out there
- 1:36:44squeaking now. That must be prickly peep.
- 1:36:47Yeah, it's a silent squeak. OK, so a new tagline.
- 1:36:52What are the taglines we have? They were all kind of heart
- 1:36:55pounding. 3D traps come alive, time is coming for all two.
- 1:37:00I don't want to do like an ending tagline because we know
- 1:37:03now that it's not like the end of the franchise.
- 1:37:05Yeah, I don't want that. Either.
- 1:37:09OK. Can we just say that's a wrap on
- 1:37:15Kostas? Is it though?
- 1:37:19Maybe. But for now it is.
- 1:37:22It definitely is. How about not my jigsaw?
- 1:37:31#Not. My jigsaw Precious would have
- 1:37:35worn this that way with Gordon. Yeah.
- 1:37:37Yeah. OK, All right, So Internet
- 1:37:44review. Jesse, when did you pull for us?
- 1:37:46Well, I know how we both feel about this movie.
- 1:37:48I know how we felt about this movie for years, even before we
- 1:37:51started doing this podcast. This is not a new revelation
- 1:37:53that we like trash movies you guys.
- 1:37:56So I went ahead and I pulled A1 star off of IMDb All.
- 1:38:00Right. I'm not gonna read the whole
- 1:38:03thing. You know how when you go, I'm
- 1:38:06gonna say you know, I don't know if the audience knows, but
- 1:38:09because we do this when you go to the reviews, sometimes we
- 1:38:12have to sort by the reviewer ratings so we can find like
- 1:38:16negative or positive depending on how the other person feels.
- 1:38:20This I didn't have to sort cuz there was a lot of negative
- 1:38:23write up at the top. Yeah, and they were, they were
- 1:38:26all really long ones. This one is the shortest one I
- 1:38:28found. I'm not gonna read the whole
- 1:38:29thing still though, because it was pretty long.
- 1:38:31There are so many things this movie does wrong that it's
- 1:38:33easier to just list to describe some of them.
- 1:38:35The acting is atrocious. I'm not just talking in
- 1:38:37comparison with other films. The acting in this one is some
- 1:38:41of the worst acting I've ever seen because it was made in 3D,
- 1:38:44the graphics are cheesy and the gore effects are all pinkish and
- 1:38:47over the top. The last bastion of reason to
- 1:38:50watch a Saw film. Those brutal traps are
- 1:38:52effectively ruined by 3D. Whereas I thought this movie was
- 1:38:56going to really wrap up the series in a meaningful way and
- 1:38:58said it was just its own plot line for 80 minutes and lazily
- 1:39:01wraps up the big picture stuff in the final ten.
- 1:39:04Even the big surprise on the final minutes actually turned me
- 1:39:06off instead of provoking the desired wow effect well.
- 1:39:11I mean, they're not wrong about like, the bad pink blood.
- 1:39:14Oh yeah, That was like one of my one of my bads at the beginning.
- 1:39:17So I. Mean the 3D effects were
- 1:39:20terrible in this. One, they were pointless.
- 1:39:22It was like a waste of money. They could have put that money
- 1:39:24towards, I don't know, saw eight.
- 1:39:27Yeah, they could have used that extra few million.
- 1:39:29They just fucking split the. Yeah, they've made SAW movies
- 1:39:32for cheaper. I mean, in like all of the Saw
- 1:39:36movies are cheap. You know you're gonna make your
- 1:39:38money back and then some. Yes, everybody's coming out to
- 1:39:42see them. And The thing is we talked about
- 1:39:44this last month with saw Six is that it's one of those that's
- 1:39:46generally reviewed well, but it for some reason it just didn't
- 1:39:49do well in the box office. Yeah.
- 1:39:51And which is? It's hard to figure out why now,
- 1:39:54in 2024 when people are like, yeah, no, actually this is one
- 1:39:57of the best ones. Look, I I some people hate where
- 1:40:02franchises go forever and ever. I love it if it's a franchise
- 1:40:05that I love. I.
- 1:40:06Hate Go Watch Saw 82 in the theaters I.
- 1:40:09Know and I hate how these studios like Overreact.
- 1:40:14Whenever one movie does a little bit worse than the previous
- 1:40:18movie and they're like OK finale, next movie's gotta be
- 1:40:21the end of it. That's what's happening with
- 1:40:22Fast and Furious also. Well, OK.
- 1:40:24And it's so funny because I was just about to compare this to
- 1:40:27Fast and Furious because as you guys know, we're working our way
- 1:40:30through the franchise. We're about to watch Fast X
- 1:40:32tonight. We bought a six pack of Corona.
- 1:40:34We're grilling. We're making a whole night of
- 1:40:36it, yes, but I feel like this franchise is very similar to it.
- 1:40:41Like put Roman and Tedge in space.
- 1:40:43Let's put Jigsaw in a rocket shit.
- 1:40:46You know what I mean like. As over the top as you want with
- 1:40:49this. I'm here for it no matter what
- 1:40:52I. Want like crossovers with other
- 1:40:53horror franchises? Oh my God.
- 1:40:55And make it like one of the stupidest ones possible.
- 1:40:59Like Saw meets Ginger Dead Man. I want saw with Hellraiser to
- 1:41:05Hellraiser like or Jigsaw and Pinhead would be able to like
- 1:41:08trade notes like oh OK, you're torturing people this way, OK?
- 1:41:11Like, yeah, I just like, let this movie be, Let this
- 1:41:14franchise be as stupid as it wants to be.
- 1:41:16I'm here for it no matter what. Like, we've got the serious
- 1:41:20thought provoking ones at this point now I just want to see
- 1:41:22like what storyline they come up with.
- 1:41:24I'm curious to see like, what's happening, you know?
- 1:41:27Would Clive Barker be like, yeah, Jigsaw like Saw and
- 1:41:30Hellraiser is definitely not from my mind, it's from my butt
- 1:41:34hole. Probably, Yeah, he would be.
- 1:41:36Furious. With that I think and I want
- 1:41:39Doug Bradley, but I don't want him playing Pinhead, I want him
- 1:41:43playing his character from long term 5.
- 1:41:46So it's a 3 way crossover. Yeah, I love that.
- 1:41:50Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:41:51Yeah. OK.
- 1:41:52All right. Do we have listener reviews?
- 1:41:55We do, OK. All right.
- 1:41:56So we got a couple here. First off, we'll go with our
- 1:42:02Instagram review, which is Cubesaves.
- 1:42:04OK, Cubesaves needs more yo yos to the camera.
- 1:42:10Absolutely. Yeah, I agree man.
- 1:42:12Like this movie needed more 3D effects.
- 1:42:14If you're gonna do a 3D movie for this, it's just it feels
- 1:42:19like a pointless little thing that was tacked on last minute.
- 1:42:22Yeah, it's just. It's unnecessary.
- 1:42:24We need to meet somewhere in the middle between.
- 1:42:26We're casting people only for what they can bring to the 3D
- 1:42:29versus like we're casting people and we're gonna maybe put some
- 1:42:323D effects somewhere. Yeah, yeah, we need somewhere in
- 1:42:34the middle. Yeah, you gotta have something.
- 1:42:36Like how My Bloody Valentine was.
- 1:42:38Yeah, exactly. It was.
- 1:42:40That's the fucking golden standard, right?
- 1:42:41There also, I want everybody to know in our personal lives,
- 1:42:43we've started referring to the Supernatural Brothers as AJ Pads
- 1:42:48and Consolation Prize. Consolation.
- 1:42:50Prize, yeah. He's.
- 1:42:52I mean, he's. Just be real J Pads.
- 1:42:55Let's just be real people, OK? Speaking of relationships, we
- 1:43:01have Tyler with his review over on Twitter, says the Twilight
- 1:43:05relationship dynamic opening was a lot.
- 1:43:08This isn't the worst, but it isn't one of my favorites.
- 1:43:11I think the fates of Jill and Joyce seem unfair and upset me.
- 1:43:14It wasn't Joyce's fault, her husband was a liar, and her trap
- 1:43:17is one of the more painful. Love the end though.
- 1:43:21I agree with all of this, except I love the little Dutch boys.
- 1:43:25Twilight opening. I know, I I love we're breaking
- 1:43:28up. I guess we're breaking up with
- 1:43:29the Edina like it's. Just I feel like Ryan is Jacob
- 1:43:32because Jacob would be the one to be like, do you really want
- 1:43:35to die over some chick that fucked me in your bed two days
- 1:43:37ago? Yeah, he's like.
- 1:43:39And Edward would be like, yeah, I do actually.
- 1:43:42I already took a cut, like I would.
- 1:43:44I would die for her. I think so too.
- 1:43:46I think that's. And Jacob would be like, fuck,
- 1:43:48wrong answer, OK? And then, like, as soon as her
- 1:43:52womb gets cut, he goes, hmm, suddenly I don't love her.
- 1:43:54It's weird. It's weird how that happens.
- 1:43:58And yeah, I mean, I agree, Like Joyce, she has the worst.
- 1:44:02No, I agree. Joyce has a very.
- 1:44:04That was one of my things about this.
- 1:44:06I mean, I'm not gonna, like, knock the movie for it, but
- 1:44:08like, you know, like, yeah, it's fucked up.
- 1:44:11And Jill? Jill's at least like she's an
- 1:44:14accessory at this point. You know what I mean?
- 1:44:17She she's actively involved in some of them.
- 1:44:19Yeah, so I feel less bad for her.
- 1:44:21Yeah. But still, I get it.
- 1:44:26I feel bad for Costas being locked up.
- 1:44:28You know, I don't want Costas to be locked up.
- 1:44:31I love Costas as a villain. I do too.
- 1:44:35He plays us so well. OK, here's the thing.
- 1:44:38You know how you love villains in movies.
- 1:44:40This is how I feel about reality TV villains.
- 1:44:43Can I make that connection for you?
- 1:44:45If you listen to our Patreon bonus episode, then you would
- 1:44:47know. Yeah, that makes sense.
- 1:44:49It's a lot of sense. OK.
- 1:44:52All right. OK.
- 1:44:53So that's it. That's it.
- 1:44:55That's. It for Saw 3D folks.
- 1:44:57And fortunately, that's not it for.
- 1:44:58Saw. We still have three more movies
- 1:45:01to cover, plus one later, but that'll come after we wrap up
- 1:45:03this franchise. Wrap up the franchise for now,
- 1:45:05yeah. So.
- 1:45:08Yay. All right, so we have.
- 1:45:13March coming up. Jesse does have her movie picked
- 1:45:16out. Yeah, actually I do.
- 1:45:17And it's a shutter original, so that's the place you watch it.
- 1:45:19And it's Jacob's wife. Yeah.
- 1:45:21So I'm very excited about this. I love this movie.
- 1:45:24I've been really excited to rewatch it.
- 1:45:25We got Barbara Crampton, we got Bonnie Aaron's, we've got Kitten
- 1:45:29and the closing credits. You got the fucking guy.
- 1:45:33The guy that we can never remember his name.
- 1:45:35It starts with a name. The guy.
- 1:45:37Larry, Larry something. Larry something.
- 1:45:40Hold on. He is from your next Yeah, the
- 1:45:42beginning of your next. Have we covered your next?
- 1:45:44Year. A lot of the fucking movies.
- 1:45:45No, we haven't. You're next.
- 1:45:48Let's go ahead and do that. Yeah.
- 1:45:50He's in fucking everything, and we always call him that guy.
- 1:45:54I don't. Know why we can never remember
- 1:45:55his name we talked about. Plenty.
- 1:45:57Either we do. We talk about him such Larry
- 1:45:59Fessenden. Larry Fessenden No, it's because
- 1:46:01it's a. It's a different last name than
- 1:46:04you're used to. Yeah, 'cause we always wanted to
- 1:46:06be like Fassender. Yeah, I think that's what we
- 1:46:08always try and call him. It's Fassenden.
- 1:46:10Larry Fassenden plays Jacob. Babs plays Jacob's wife, Bonnie.
- 1:46:13Aaron plays a vampire is amazing, I think.
- 1:46:16Carter's also in that movie, too.
- 1:46:17Carter, you Dick. Carter, you Dick.
- 1:46:19I think he's like her wife or her wife, her husband and that
- 1:46:23too. No, Larry's her husband.
- 1:46:28I think Carter's the guy that, like, comes to town that she's
- 1:46:30friends with. That starts the whole vampire.
- 1:46:32I think you're right. You're right.
- 1:46:33Yeah. Yeah, you're.
- 1:46:33Right, OK. Anyway, I'm very excited about
- 1:46:36this movie. I've dressed as her character
- 1:46:38for Halloween before. It's a very like, It's a very
- 1:46:41good time. If you have Shudder, watch it.
- 1:46:43If you don't have Shudder, maybe try it free for seven days.
- 1:46:48They do the trials and stuff and you can watch it there.
- 1:46:51Yeah, it's a really good time. So, yeah, All right.
