- 0:00Speaker 1: Then and now the Guardian Angel of talk radio is here.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Curtis leewa guest host the Mark Simon Show on seven
- 0:09Speaker 1: ten WOO.
- 0:14Speaker 2: And this I final weeks up stooding for Mark Simon.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Nobody better in the business. What a smooth operator. Think
- 0:23Speaker 2: of that song by Shada nineteen eighty four. Think of
- 0:27Speaker 2: that in nineteen eighty four. It's going to come back
- 0:29Speaker 2: when I talk about the two books being written by
- 0:32Speaker 2: Bernard about Bernard Gets that are being published at the
- 0:36Speaker 2: same time the beginning of this year, forty one years
- 0:41Speaker 2: since the Subway Gumman. So we're going to connect all
- 0:44Speaker 2: the dots. But thanks to Mark Simon for giving me
- 0:48Speaker 2: this opportunity, Tom Cuddy, the program director, who I've known
- 0:52Speaker 2: for years from his stage over at WPLJ, and of
- 0:56Speaker 2: course the iHeart group of station's largest in the nation
- 1:03Speaker 2: doesn't get any better than this. This is like a
- 1:05Speaker 2: second birthday present for me, because I got the Christmas
- 1:10Speaker 2: present which was substituting the first week. This will be
- 1:12Speaker 2: my Birthday present March twenty six aries fire. You know,
- 1:19Speaker 2: I don't go over under, I go right through. And
- 1:23Speaker 2: who would have ever thought that I would have made
- 1:25Speaker 2: it to seventy two years old. So I got my
- 1:28Speaker 2: Christmas present substituting for Marquere and I'm getting my pre
- 1:33Speaker 2: birthday present. And then yesterday, because it's always busy in
- 1:37Speaker 2: my life, huge article came out. It had been done
- 1:40Speaker 2: weeks ago when it came out now and all of
- 1:44Speaker 2: a sudden, my phone was like blowing up from Hollywood.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Oh yeah, everybody out there on the West coast Hollywood
- 1:54Speaker 2: that I've known over the years, where I've met over
- 1:56Speaker 2: the years, was calling me about this article the Hollywood Reporter.
- 2:00Speaker 2: That's the bible for their business out there. So whether
- 2:03Speaker 2: it's movies, TV, whether it's streaming music, whatever it is,
- 2:10Speaker 2: that's their bible. And the article was Curtis Leewoo just
- 2:14Speaker 2: wants you to know, wants to know where are you from?
- 2:18Speaker 2: Because that's what I always asked, right is he? I
- 2:20Speaker 2: asked you where you're from? From? The Bronxes and No Jersey,
- 2:23Speaker 2: What high school do you go to? I always have
- 2:24Speaker 2: these series of questions because it tells me a lot
- 2:28Speaker 2: about who you are, where you're from, what your roots are.
- 2:33Speaker 2: And so it is a huge article and I got
- 2:35Speaker 2: this one call from a guy. Now, all of a sudden,
- 2:39Speaker 2: he's interested in Curtius Slawak, can I do this? Can
- 2:43Speaker 2: I do that? Can you know they're all they're all
- 2:45Speaker 2: schmoozing you. Uh, they're pulling your chain and chewing your shorts.
- 2:49Speaker 2: And he's like, hey, you remember me. Remember I grew
- 2:53Speaker 2: up in benson Hurst. Yeah, I remember you. Oh man,
- 2:58Speaker 2: I got I got ideas of what we can do.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I said, really, really, okay, Uh, could you share a
- 3:04Speaker 2: few with me? And he goes on and on things
- 3:06Speaker 2: he'd never be able to do in a month of Sundays.
- 3:09Speaker 2: But he's schnoring me. He snoring me, okay. And I
- 3:13Speaker 2: know this guy because in the midst of this mayoral
- 3:16Speaker 2: election he became a Cuomo sexual. He donated a lot
- 3:21Speaker 2: of money from Hollywood to Cuomo and he.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Called me a clown. He thinks I'm gonna forget that, right.
- 3:30Speaker 2: So he's going on and on. He's on the roll,
- 3:32Speaker 2: doing this typical routine they do out in Hollywood, And
- 3:35Speaker 2: I said, cause you hold a second, I gotta I
- 3:38Speaker 2: gotta take a call from mister click. And I hung
- 3:42Speaker 2: up the phone on him. Guy has no idea what
- 3:46Speaker 2: it is, so he must have assumed that there was
- 3:49Speaker 2: a break. He calls me right back, and I said, yeah,
- 3:53Speaker 2: I had a great conversation with mister Click. I'm sorry
- 3:56Speaker 2: it took me a little bit of time to get
- 3:58Speaker 2: back to your call, but I I want you to
- 4:00Speaker 2: be able to talk to mister Click now. And then
- 4:04Speaker 2: hung up on him. You think that's do not You
- 4:08Speaker 2: think he finally understood that you don't play with Curtis
- 4:13Speaker 2: Lee right, You don't stroke me and think I'm not
- 4:18Speaker 2: gonna remember. I don't forgive and I don't forget. Oh,
- 4:21Speaker 2: by the way, I hope Greg Kelly is listening over
- 4:23Speaker 2: at WABC because his show prep was always marked simone
- 4:27Speaker 2: the best in the business, and he's sort of been
- 4:30Speaker 2: a dollar short in a day late, not having a
- 4:33Speaker 2: routine to be able to pick pocket from. But that's okay.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Why wouldn't you listen to mark someone the best in
- 4:40Speaker 2: the business. I certainly have over the years. But let's
- 4:44Speaker 2: talk about yesterday, because it was a Hollywood day. My wife, Nancy,
- 4:48Speaker 2: as you know animal welfare activists, was quest for him
- 4:54Speaker 2: by the loss of Bridgiet Buddo. Now, obviously my wife
- 4:57Speaker 2: is a millennial. She didn't know Bridge Bardeaux from her
- 5:01Speaker 2: liberated sex bomb era of movies that she appeared in,
- 5:06Speaker 2: especially the ones that were made with Roger Vidim, who
- 5:09Speaker 2: then went on to marry years later Jane Fonda, Remember Barbarella. Yeah, okay,
- 5:15Speaker 2: but no, let's stick to Bridget Bardeus that one film
- 5:21Speaker 2: and God Created Woman. Right now, these are all in France,
- 5:25Speaker 2: so you gotta have subtitles to them, right God Created Woman.
- 5:30Speaker 2: It opens up with her sun bathing in the news.
- 5:33Speaker 2: This is nineteen fifty six. Think about that, nineteen fifty six,
- 5:39Speaker 2: and later she emerges from the sea in a clinging
- 5:42Speaker 2: wet dress. I'll never forget that scene, and at the
- 5:47Speaker 2: top of her career, with the paparazzi chasing her all over.
- 5:52Speaker 2: Remember this is the era Marilyn Monroe, so many other
- 5:56Speaker 2: sex bombs, but there was a certain sub a fair
- 6:01Speaker 2: about Bishard Bardell. So she's at the can Film Festival
- 6:07Speaker 2: right there off the Mediterranean. She's in demand and at
- 6:12Speaker 2: the top of her movie making career. She walks away
- 6:17Speaker 2: from it. She goes to Sanchope and she sets up
- 6:21Speaker 2: an animal welfare sanctuary. She goes out to the Arctic
- 6:28Speaker 2: and she confronts these barbarians who are clubbing baby seals
- 6:33Speaker 2: to death.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Confronts them.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure some of them are like Brigard Bardeaux
- 6:40Speaker 2: my day. Who would ever think you would see Bridget
- 6:42Speaker 2: Bardeaux at the North Pole.
- 6:46Speaker 4: But she was a fighter for animal welfare, and she
- 6:50Speaker 4: consistently railed against laboratory experiments against animals which are being
- 6:58Speaker 4: filtered out in the Trump administration in the Pentagon.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Also and other federal agencies.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Imagine it's still and you know, testing on beagles like
- 7:10Speaker 2: that that U discraciata Dr Fauci, testing on beagles, sending
- 7:18Speaker 2: them off to Tunisia, third world country, and then putting
- 7:23Speaker 2: cones around their heads and having sand.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Fleas eat the skin off their heads.
- 7:30Speaker 2: For what purposes we spent money on that? It was
- 7:33Speaker 2: never explained, doctor Fauci. You will burn in hell for
- 7:37Speaker 2: that and many other things. By the way, he's a
- 7:39Speaker 2: boy from Bench and her screw up pharmacy. Uh then
- 7:43Speaker 2: went to Regis, the most prestigious of Jesuit high schools,
- 7:47Speaker 2: better than the one I went to Brooklyn Prep. But
- 7:50Speaker 2: he was a disgrace for many many reasons.
- 7:52Speaker 3: All right, let's stick with it with Bridget Bartell.
- 7:56Speaker 2: And then she says, I don't care about my past glory.
- 8:02Speaker 3: I am taking every franc, every euro that I.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Have, and I'm investing it in adopting unwanted animal snowkill
- 8:11Speaker 2: shelters Spain and neutering. Now, her politics was extreme right.
- 8:18Speaker 2: She was a follower of lapenn She hated Muslims. She
- 8:22Speaker 2: was cited for that many times for hate speech. But yesterday,
- 8:27Speaker 2: for those in the animal welfare community, it was a
- 8:29Speaker 2: reminder how so many who have done so well in
- 8:34Speaker 2: Hollywood in a movie making and in TV production walked
- 8:38Speaker 2: away or in their final years bequeathed all their money
- 8:44Speaker 2: to animal welfare. Now, the complete opposite of Richard Bardot
- 8:47Speaker 2: at that time was Dori Stay. She was America's sweetheart.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Remember Doris Stay. I remember seeing her in Pillow Talk
- 8:54Speaker 2: I think it was nineteen sixty with Rock Hudson. Who
- 8:57Speaker 2: know that Rock Hudson was gay, but he was. These
- 9:01Speaker 2: were great movies. But she was America's sweetheart. And then
- 9:06Speaker 2: while doing a film in about nineteen seventy one, she
- 9:12Speaker 2: saw some people abusing animals and immediately I think she
- 9:19Speaker 2: was doing the film The Man who Knew Too Much
- 9:21Speaker 2: nineteen seventy one, she established actors and others for animals.
- 9:27Speaker 2: No de fur, no defer, and who joined the Mary
- 9:31Speaker 2: Tyler Moore, Angie Dickenson, Jane Meadows, and of course Bob
- 9:34Speaker 2: Barker the price is right. If he saw you warring
- 9:38Speaker 2: wearing a fur, he would have punched your schnaz right
- 9:41Speaker 2: down your throat.
- 9:43Speaker 3: And this became her passion.
- 9:46Speaker 2: She lived by Karmel by the Sea, you know Clint
- 9:49Speaker 2: Eastwood where he became mayor Karmel by the Sea, a
- 9:53Speaker 2: lifelong Republican, died at ninety seven, bequeathed all of her
- 9:57Speaker 2: wealth to her at almost sanctuary. And then, of course
- 10:02Speaker 2: there was Betty White. Betty White died at about a hundred.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I never forget seeing her on phil Donague in the
- 10:10Speaker 2: afternoons and she was talking about her animal welfare fund
- 10:13Speaker 2: and somebody was giving her a hard time. Yeah, look
- 10:16Speaker 2: Betty White, Golden Girls Hot in Cleveland, the Mary Tyler
- 10:20Speaker 2: Moore Show. Betty White an institution, bequeathed all her money
- 10:27Speaker 2: to her animal wildlife fund. And then, oh yeah, for
- 10:32Speaker 2: the guys out there, there's Wakie Phoenix. Remember that great movie,
- 10:39Speaker 2: the first one, the Joker, not not the second one
- 10:42Speaker 2: with Oh god, that was not a good one. No, no, no, no, no,
- 10:48Speaker 2: the second movie could not touch the first one that
- 10:50Speaker 2: was classic. So here's Joaquin Phoenix. He's receiving the Academy award. Uh,
- 10:58Speaker 2: he's speaking gibberish up there, who knew where his mind was,
- 11:01Speaker 2: like so many of these actors and actresses. And the
- 11:05Speaker 2: very next day he's out rescuing as she was known
- 11:10Speaker 2: to do animals in factory farms. He would actually go there.
- 11:15Speaker 2: He would say to those in charge of the farmers,
- 11:17Speaker 2: how much you want for that mother cow? How much
- 11:20Speaker 2: you want for that new born calf? Spending his wealth
- 11:23Speaker 2: to do that great actor? So many others, and think
- 11:32Speaker 2: of it, people make fun of you. Would you make
- 11:37Speaker 2: fun of Doris Day? Would you make fun of Betty White? Well,
- 11:41Speaker 2: they do make fun of Joaquin Phoenix. They say he
- 11:44Speaker 2: is looney Kazuni from parts on own great actor, no
- 11:48Speaker 2: doubt about it. And Bridget Bardeux, who when they said
- 11:53Speaker 2: are you a recluse, she said, no, I'm not a recluse.
- 11:55Speaker 2: I would rather deal with animals than with people. And
- 12:00Speaker 2: then the most recent maybe we'll get to it in
- 12:03Speaker 2: this week when I'm substituting for Mark Simoon pigeons, which
- 12:12Speaker 2: in my mind street pigeons should be the official bird
- 12:17Speaker 2: of New York City, right, Oh man, you get such battles.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Some people say they're nothing more than rats with wings.
- 12:26Speaker 2: You know, they put up spikes on their windows cells. Hey,
- 12:29Speaker 2: you don't want pigeons coming on your window cells. Put
- 12:31Speaker 2: up plastic owls. That's like a natural nemesis to them.
- 12:36Speaker 2: It sort of like when you go to a cornfield
- 12:38Speaker 2: and they put up scarecrows and keeps the crows who
- 12:40Speaker 2: have very smart. Pigeons very smart, but they will not
- 12:43Speaker 2: land on a window cell or any area that has
- 12:46Speaker 2: a plastic owl in. And boy, tremendous controversy raging because
- 12:55Speaker 2: another great actress actually came to the support.
- 13:02Speaker 3: The pigeons, the actress Sarah Paulson.
- 13:08Speaker 2: She did a podcast in what she was saying, we
- 13:10Speaker 2: shouldn't be torturing the street pigeons. They're a part of
- 13:16Speaker 2: our New York City heritage and legacy, and they are
- 13:20Speaker 2: and they have performed so many services for us over
- 13:23Speaker 2: the decades, without which we might have suffered enormously. And
- 13:30Speaker 2: I grew up with pigeons on the roof of my
- 13:33Speaker 2: grandfather and grandmother's house in Kannarci. My uncle Vincenz used
- 13:37Speaker 2: to have a pigeon coop. There were a lot of
- 13:39Speaker 2: pigeon coops back then, so I nurtured them, I fed them,
- 13:44Speaker 2: I trained them Boston Bulldies and Homer's, so I have
- 13:49Speaker 2: a direct infinity for pigeons. But boy, you talk about
- 13:53Speaker 2: mixing ammonian bleach and my own wife. I'm so proud
- 13:58Speaker 2: of her, Nancy, who stood up to a comrade build
- 14:01Speaker 2: a blasio back then, the part time mayor, the dope
- 14:04Speaker 2: from Park Slope, when he said, if you feed pigeons,
- 14:09Speaker 2: we are gonna find you and my wife, Nancy, in
- 14:15Speaker 2: classic Clint Eastwood terminology, turned to build a blasio on
- 14:21Speaker 2: the steps of city Hall when he was mayor unfortunately
- 14:25Speaker 2: for eight years, and said make my day as she
- 14:31Speaker 2: and others began feeding the pigeons right there. Oh you
- 14:35Speaker 2: can see all that. Just go to act Curtis Sliwer.
- 14:37Speaker 2: It's all posted there. But what a day following the
- 14:42Speaker 2: Hollywood Reporter, I mean, dissing and dismissing somebody of great renown.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Gotta know you don't play with Curtis Sliwa, You don't
- 14:53Speaker 2: play with me. Coming up next, so we got to
- 14:57Speaker 2: talk about two books that are being published by about
- 15:02Speaker 2: Bernard Getz forty one years later coming out at the
- 15:05Speaker 2: same time by the same publishing house, and I guarantee
- 15:09Speaker 2: you because of that, it'll probably be a movie made
- 15:13Speaker 2: about what occurred forty one years ago in December of
- 15:20Speaker 2: the subways of New York City that I spend most
- 15:22Speaker 2: of my time in. Our number is eight hundred three
- 15:25Speaker 2: two one zero seven ten. That's eight hundred three two
- 15:30Speaker 2: one zero seven ten. Because this is the place for
- 15:35Speaker 2: you to be heard. Now if you if you weren't
- 15:38Speaker 2: part of the w R seven ten listenership, you need
- 15:43Speaker 2: to now I Annancy are, and they are a growing
- 15:46Speaker 2: number of people out there. Justsu dial right in at
- 15:51Speaker 2: eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Curtis Sleewald, guess hos for marks them all on seven tenor.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Too bad? Is he who left WABC to come here
- 16:09Speaker 2: to be with everybody here at war along with Jacqueline
- 16:13Speaker 2: carl who I heard this morning newsgalp same thing. Great
- 16:18Speaker 2: to see all these people here. Even better is he
- 16:21Speaker 2: if you could have played coming back into this segment
- 16:25Speaker 2: Cooling the Gang Hollywood Swinging, Now that's the original cool
- 16:30Speaker 2: in the Gang. Don't don't strain your brain. Is he
- 16:33Speaker 2: from Jersey City? That was Robert Coolbell and they were
- 16:38Speaker 2: followers of Schooy Louis fire Kin in the Nation of Islam.
- 16:41Speaker 2: So that becomes a choke because that was a favorite
- 16:44Speaker 2: group of mine. I mean, walking around today, coming out
- 16:46Speaker 2: of the subway with the drizzle, the gray, it was
- 16:50Speaker 2: sort of like Winter Sadness another great song of his,
- 16:53Speaker 2: or Summer Madness, great stuff Old Cool in the gang.
- 16:57Speaker 2: But you don't have to do that because speaking about
- 17:00Speaker 2: coming out of the subways, I'm almost guaranteeing you out
- 17:05Speaker 2: there that there's gonna be a movie being made soon
- 17:10Speaker 2: about the subway gunman Bernard Gets. Now it's not in
- 17:13Speaker 2: a Hollywood reporter, has been reported anywhere, but I was
- 17:16Speaker 2: on the line with a New York Times reporter who
- 17:18Speaker 2: was telling me, Curtis, how do you make what do
- 17:22Speaker 2: you make of this? Forty one years later, remember it
- 17:25Speaker 2: was in December of nineteen eighty four that Bernard Gets
- 17:30Speaker 2: shot Barry Allen, Troy Kanty, James Ramseur, Daryl Kaby once
- 17:35Speaker 2: a piece as they were surrounding him, almost like in
- 17:39Speaker 2: a cockwork orange and then when Daryl Kby was on
- 17:43Speaker 2: the ground, he shot him once in the back and said,
- 17:45Speaker 2: you don't you know, looks so bad, bang, and then
- 17:49Speaker 2: fled into the subway and disappeared to New Hampshire eventually
- 17:52Speaker 2: turned himself in. So he got two books coming out
- 17:55Speaker 2: from the same publishing house at the same time, and
- 17:59Speaker 2: so there's got to be something that's cole mingling, conflating
- 18:03Speaker 2: out conflating out there. And the one question he asked
- 18:08Speaker 2: me says, how would New York City treat the subway
- 18:12Speaker 2: gunman now if that had occurred this year as compared
- 18:16Speaker 2: to forty one years ago, I still forget about it.
- 18:19Speaker 2: I mean, Black Lives Matter would be resurrected. You know,
- 18:22Speaker 2: they became big, large mansions, they became a real estate
- 18:25Speaker 2: firm at people's expense with donating money to that fraudulent operation.
- 18:32Speaker 2: But anyway, they'd be back out on the streets, no justice,
- 18:35Speaker 2: no peace, morning, noon and night, every day, every week,
- 18:39Speaker 2: every month. And look at the hard time they gave
- 18:43Speaker 2: Daniel Penny, the marine who unfortunately had to choke Jordan
- 18:49Speaker 2: Neely to stop him from threatening people on that f
- 18:52Speaker 2: train back in May of twenty twenty three. A lot
- 18:54Speaker 2: of people forget that Olxlim shady Sharpton, who was protesting
- 18:59Speaker 2: against Bernard Gets during that trial, was also urging his
- 19:04Speaker 2: friend Alvin Bragg to charge the two people who helped
- 19:09Speaker 2: restrain Jordan Neely with Daniel Penny. He wanted them charge
- 19:13Speaker 2: with manslaughter, along with aoc all our crazy Alexandria Cassio Cortes.
- 19:19Speaker 2: So the difference is the community was split back then
- 19:23Speaker 2: in nineteen eighty four, had half the people that were
- 19:26Speaker 2: supporting Bernard Gets got half not no matter it depending
- 19:29Speaker 2: where you went. It became a racially charged issue and
- 19:33Speaker 2: it pitted white versus black, as so many instances that
- 19:38Speaker 2: it affected our city did back then, coming from the
- 19:41Speaker 2: time that Ed Koch was mayor for the last time
- 19:45Speaker 2: and then lost in that Democratic primary to David Dinkins,
- 19:48Speaker 2: it was a racially charged era. Now, how many people
- 19:54Speaker 2: would have been standing up in support of Bernard Gets,
- 19:58Speaker 2: few of any. This city has changed significantly from forty
- 20:04Speaker 2: one years ago, and it's interesting that books coming out now. Also,
- 20:12Speaker 2: I'm going to give you an update. You don't want
- 20:14Speaker 2: to go anywhere. Remember, I've been tracking it down how
- 20:17Speaker 2: Republican leadership in Washington and throughout New York State has
- 20:22Speaker 2: forsaken the Republican Party. Yep, they won a UNI party.
- 20:27Speaker 2: They want one party, and they're going to try to
- 20:31Speaker 2: convince all of you. In future elections they go with
- 20:34Speaker 2: the moderate Democrat against the socialist Democrat because Republicans don't
- 20:39Speaker 2: have a chance to win in citywide elections and statewide elections.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Remember I spent last week upstate New York and Albany, Renseala, Troy,
- 20:51Speaker 2: Schenectady learning more. Last night I was at a Republican
- 20:55Speaker 2: confab in New York City connecting the dots and oh,
- 21:01Speaker 2: you don't want to go anywhere, because not only did
- 21:05Speaker 2: they stab me in the back and at least Stephonic,
- 21:09Speaker 2: but they're gonna try to convince you if the Schmucker
- 21:13Speaker 2: putts Chuck e chees Schumer decides to run again, and
- 21:18Speaker 2: that's always a possibility because they never quite understand till death,
- 21:22Speaker 2: do you part. They want to stay in office until
- 21:25Speaker 2: their room tempership. Oh no, no, no, you're gonna have
- 21:28Speaker 2: to listen. Oh man, this you'll say never never, Oh yeah,
- 21:34Speaker 2: it's already happening. And I'll connect all the dots of you,
- 21:38Speaker 2: and then who weighs in on our fire Commissioner Ellen Musk.
- 21:44Speaker 2: You know this is why I say about the billionaires,
- 21:46Speaker 2: the masters of the universe. They know what they do.
- 21:49Speaker 2: They need to stay in their lane. Talk about a
- 21:52Speaker 2: schmucker of Putts. Does he not realize? Of course he doesn't.
- 21:56Speaker 2: How many fire commissioners we've had here in New York
- 21:59Speaker 2: City that never put out a basket fire. And I'm
- 22:05Speaker 2: not just talking about with Eric Adams swager Man with
- 22:08Speaker 2: no plan who got wine din in pocket line. I
- 22:11Speaker 2: can't wait. I can't wait till he's out of here because.
- 22:15Speaker 3: He's still covetching.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Oh woe is me. I'm such a victim. But now
- 22:24Speaker 2: it's time for you to be hurt. Call eight hundred
- 22:30Speaker 2: and three to two one zero sevent ten your newfound friend.
- 22:33Speaker 2: If you haven't listened before this seven ten war. That's
- 22:37Speaker 2: eight hundred three two one zero sevent ten.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Curtis Sleewah guess hose for Mark Simone on sevent ten?
- 22:47Speaker 2: Wor very good? Very good? Is he? Anyway? Coming off
- 22:59Speaker 2: of that article and the Hollywood reporter that was making
- 23:02Speaker 2: my phone singing ring not interested, and I introduced them
- 23:07Speaker 2: to mister Click. The headline was Curtis LEEO just wants
- 23:11Speaker 2: to know where you're from. So I said to is
- 23:14Speaker 2: her board operator, where you're from. He said West Milford,
- 23:17Speaker 2: and I said, oh, that's where Jungle Habitat was. Oh,
- 23:21Speaker 2: that was great Jungle Habitat. And then to know how
- 23:24Speaker 2: my mind works, I'm thinking all the other great song
- 23:27Speaker 2: from Cooling the Gang. The original was Jungle Boogie back
- 23:33Speaker 2: in nineteen seventy three, seventy four. They were from Jersey City,
- 23:36Speaker 2: from the Wild and Peaceful album. And that's when is
- 23:40Speaker 2: he walked away from me and said, man, let me
- 23:44Speaker 2: get out of here. Back to the boardroom.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Anyway, let's go to the phones. It's your turn to
- 23:49Speaker 3: be heard.
- 23:49Speaker 2: It's Phil calling from Queen's Welcome to Seven to ten
- 23:54Speaker 2: war film.
- 23:56Speaker 5: Hey, best wishes her great happy new year. Thank you
- 23:59Speaker 5: for running. You know you're still a hero to most
- 24:02Speaker 5: New Yorkers. I'm hoping that you will stay on the
- 24:05Speaker 5: case because, as Bob Gregg would say, stake, phony and
- 24:09Speaker 5: fraud is gonna be messing around. I hope a lot
- 24:12Speaker 5: of people will show up.
- 24:15Speaker 6: For peaceful protests at his inauguration.
- 24:17Speaker 5: If you notice he has a closed party. He's capturing
- 24:22Speaker 5: emails and contacts for future fundraising and future mobilization. And
- 24:29Speaker 5: I just I know you're gonna stay on it. I
- 24:31Speaker 5: just wanted to stay Hotey, and.
- 24:33Speaker 2: I appreciate that. Phil understand this. I ain't going nowhere.
- 24:37Speaker 2: I improve, I don't move. I will be part of
- 24:41Speaker 2: that group that says to the barricades, Look, John MONDAMMI
- 24:45Speaker 2: won the election, fair and square. It's a fair election.
- 24:49Speaker 2: He's entitled to have his celebration. Hey, that's another cool
- 24:52Speaker 2: in the game, classic celebration. But anyway, the point being
- 24:57Speaker 2: he's entitled. Everybody, Oh, he's gonna have the blocks. The
- 25:02Speaker 2: guy gets elected, right, the first Muslim man, Oh my god,
- 25:07Speaker 2: let's get rid of it. No, no, no, no, you
- 25:10Speaker 2: can't deport people just because you're Muslim, Okay, especially naturalized citizens. Right,
- 25:15Speaker 2: that means that is it. So people getting all bent
- 25:18Speaker 2: out of shape. He won.
- 25:21Speaker 3: Let them have this celebrations or nieces.
- 25:23Speaker 2: Okay, let's see what he actually does in running government.
- 25:31Speaker 2: But this is a worldwide network here seven to ten WR,
- 25:34Speaker 2: and we have people who are calling from all over America.
- 25:38Speaker 2: So let's immediately go if we can to Bob, who's
- 25:42Speaker 2: calling from San Diego. Your turn to be heard here
- 25:46Speaker 2: at seven ten. Woar, Bob.
- 25:49Speaker 6: Good to hear you back on the air. Curtz, I
- 25:53Speaker 6: live out here in San Diego, but I'm in New Yorker.
- 25:55Speaker 6: I moved here three years ago. Helped the family out
- 26:00Speaker 6: I had. I helped erase a grandchild out here. But
- 26:05Speaker 6: it's nice idea. But I really missed New York and
- 26:07Speaker 6: hearing you back on the air. You're a New York institution,
- 26:10Speaker 6: but we have so much in common. On the same
- 26:13Speaker 6: age as you. I also went to a Catholic high
- 26:16Speaker 6: school and I remember seeing you, maybe your senior year.
- 26:21Speaker 6: You were rather swimming meet at Brooklyn Prep. My school
- 26:24Speaker 6: was swimming against your school. I remember seeing you, and
- 26:28Speaker 6: a friend of mine told me you had been suspended
- 26:31Speaker 6: and you were the class president.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Yeah. But now let me ask you a question, Bob.
- 26:36Speaker 2: In normal gym class, when your school had pools, because
- 26:40Speaker 2: a lot of the Catholic high schools had pools, and
- 26:42Speaker 2: so the public high schools have pools, I could never
- 26:46Speaker 2: figure out when you had to go to your gym class,
- 26:48Speaker 2: which was pool once a week. You had to take
- 26:52Speaker 2: your trunks off, you had to swim nude. The physical
- 26:59Speaker 2: I guess school education teacher they called them said, oh no,
- 27:02Speaker 2: you can't swim in the pool wearing trunks. Now, I
- 27:06Speaker 2: thought that was pretty pervy, especially with all that chlorine
- 27:11Speaker 2: in there. I mean you could die from the chlorine
- 27:15Speaker 2: sort of a pool that hung over the pool, and
- 27:19Speaker 2: yet they demanded that you had to take your chunks
- 27:21Speaker 2: off when you dived into the pool. I thought that
- 27:23Speaker 2: was a bit freaky. Deekeey Bob.
- 27:26Speaker 6: Yeah, I kind of remember that my school, Manta Christie,
- 27:30Speaker 6: we were a dioxus in high school in Queens. We
- 27:33Speaker 6: didn't have a pool, so we had to go work
- 27:36Speaker 6: out at the Kipsbay Boys Club in Manhattan, and they
- 27:40Speaker 6: had that policy there. You couldn't wear a suit.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Yeah, no, no, no, there's something there's something very very
- 27:47Speaker 2: Epstein about that. If you get to drift. Ah, that's weird. Now,
- 27:54Speaker 2: am Iuti Christie, which are now Saint John's Prep there
- 27:56Speaker 2: in that story which is the land of Zoran Mondamie.
- 28:00Speaker 2: See see how my mind works. A lot of calls
- 28:06Speaker 2: they're blazing away. But don't be glazing me in these calls.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Let's be talking about what's happening out there. Let's go
- 28:15Speaker 2: to Frank. I call it little Dublin. He's calling from
- 28:20Speaker 2: Woodlawn right south of the west Chester border McLean Avenue.
- 28:26Speaker 2: Your turn to be heard here at seven to ten
- 28:27Speaker 2: wor Frankie.
- 28:31Speaker 7: Hi. Curtis, Minnesota is not the only place that has
- 28:34Speaker 7: problem with these charity frauds. If you go through any
- 28:37Speaker 7: neighborhood in the Bronx Queens, Brooklyn, you'll see storefront daycare center,
- 28:43Speaker 7: storefront tutoring learning centers. They're all scams that the Democrats
- 28:49Speaker 7: are set up to send money to their hacks in
- 28:51Speaker 7: the community. There's nothing going on at those places other
- 28:54Speaker 7: than stealing the money.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Well look, look, we've had medicaid mills here for years,
- 29:01Speaker 2: in all different kinds of communities. They go in, they
- 29:04Speaker 2: write your script doctors whatever you want, and you become
- 29:08Speaker 2: a pill freak and they charge the taxpayers. And this
- 29:13Speaker 2: gone on for years, and oh the Somalians are ripping
- 29:17Speaker 2: them off in Minnesota. No, no, no, no, New York,
- 29:21Speaker 2: New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania. They get taken into all these places,
- 29:29Speaker 2: don't ask surprise, There is no oversight. There is no
- 29:34Speaker 2: oversight to most of the government. What they do is
- 29:39Speaker 2: they tax us from the cradle to the grave, and
- 29:41Speaker 2: there's no oversight. And then occasionally they determine, oh there's
- 29:44Speaker 2: corruption there, let's see how many people actually get prosecuted
- 29:50Speaker 2: and the fall through the cracks, and how many politicians
- 29:54Speaker 2: elected officials should go down for the count on that.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Our numbers one eight hundred and three to two, one
- 30:04Speaker 2: zero seven ten. For many of you, I know you
- 30:07Speaker 2: used to listen to WABC, which I was on always
- 30:10Speaker 2: broadcasting Curtis became always blaming Curtis for the election of Zorhanmandami,
- 30:17Speaker 2: which is just not the case. I understand from some
- 30:22Speaker 2: people very close to Andrew Cuomo over the weekend I
- 30:26Speaker 2: call them Cromo sexuals that as the new year is
- 30:30Speaker 2: upon us, he's still crying. If only Curticians jomped down,
- 30:35Speaker 2: it could have been the mayor. Come on you, mama, Luke,
- 30:37Speaker 2: it's over. Just stay out in the Hamptons with your
- 30:42Speaker 2: billionaire friends. Just leave the subways and streets to me.
- 30:47Speaker 2: I got some stories about that coming up, you know.
- 30:50Speaker 2: With the end of the Metro card, the scammers were
- 30:54Speaker 2: out in force this morning in the subways, taking advantage
- 30:58Speaker 2: of tourists and the empty money taking agency. They don't care,
- 31:03Speaker 2: they don't care. They rip us off. Might as well
- 31:05Speaker 2: rip off the tourists too, and now.
- 31:09Speaker 1: More with New York's iconic straight shooter Curtis Leewah guest
- 31:15Speaker 1: hosting from Mark Simone on sevent ten woor.
- 31:22Speaker 2: So, now you've heard a lot about the phasing out
- 31:25Speaker 2: of the Metro card to do your swipe into the
- 31:30Speaker 2: subway system, and obviously they're going to, uh, what can
- 31:35Speaker 2: we call that? The tap and run, you know, with
- 31:38Speaker 2: your debut card, your credit card and the Omni card.
- 31:43Speaker 3: I'm a token guy myself, I try. I love it
- 31:46Speaker 3: when during the age of crack in the eighties you
- 31:49Speaker 3: had the token suckers. They would actually go up to
- 31:53Speaker 3: the portal where you put your subway token in. They
- 31:57Speaker 3: would stuff it with paper or paper clips so that
- 32:00Speaker 3: if we get caught, you wouldn't be able to go
- 32:02Speaker 3: through the turnstiles. You'd scream over to the boardop and
- 32:06Speaker 3: excuse me, to the token booth clerk who was always
- 32:09Speaker 3: asleep in the booths, Hey yeah, go ahead through, And
- 32:12Speaker 3: then then all of a sudden the crackhead would come
- 32:15Speaker 3: and suck the token.
- 32:17Speaker 2: Right out of the portal and then sell it to
- 32:21Speaker 2: people for like half price. I mean that used to
- 32:24Speaker 2: be all over the place, so then they went metro card,
- 32:27Speaker 2: and then guys would bend the metro card and sell
- 32:32Speaker 2: you swipes there because they figured out how to steal
- 32:36Speaker 2: money from us through the MTA money taking agency. There's
- 32:40Speaker 2: always been rusters, just like you have the turnstiles. Now
- 32:43Speaker 2: they say, oh, we have flippers here, we have guardrails here,
- 32:47Speaker 2: and people are still avoiding paying the fare. It's fair
- 32:51Speaker 2: evasion galore everywhere I go. But this morning, on my
- 32:54Speaker 2: way here to war seven to ten, I'm looking at
- 32:59Speaker 2: the these guys, these hustlers, and they're taking advantage of
- 33:03Speaker 2: tourists in the subway because where they in front of
- 33:07Speaker 2: the machine that would give them their final Metro card
- 33:12Speaker 2: or their Omni card right to get into the subway.
- 33:14Speaker 2: So these huss that you give me the money and
- 33:17Speaker 2: I'll swipe you in. I go up to them and say, yo, man,
- 33:21Speaker 2: get the hell out of this station again talking with
- 33:25Speaker 2: clerks doing nothing, not my business, as tourists are getting
- 33:29Speaker 2: ripped off. And then the guy has the nerve to
- 33:32Speaker 2: say to me, I voted for you. Could all of
- 33:37Speaker 2: you do me a favor? If all of you who
- 33:39Speaker 2: have come up to me actually voted for me, I
- 33:42Speaker 2: would be sworn in as the mayor and not Zor
- 33:44Speaker 2: on Mandami this coming January.
- 33:46Speaker 3: First, please stop it already.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Most of you did not vote for me, but I
- 33:54Speaker 2: guess you feel like, Oh, I'm gonna make them feel good. Yeah,
- 33:57Speaker 2: I vote a for you?
- 33:58Speaker 6: What?
- 33:58Speaker 2: And then I ask you where you from? And you
- 34:00Speaker 2: tell me Scarsdale in Westchester? How did you do that?
- 34:04Speaker 2: Don't go anywhere up next? How the Republican leadership do
- 34:08Speaker 2: not want Republicans to win citywide or statewide ever again
- 34:12Speaker 2: in New York State. I'm gonna connect all the dots
- 34:14Speaker 2: for you.
