- 2:48Speaker 3: Angie Gillenwater from the Canal charlest New Main Association is
- 2:51Speaker 3: with us this morning. Angie, good morning, welcome to the show.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Good morning, Thank you, for being here. Now got these
- 2:59Speaker 3: pictures always posted on Dave Allen Radio on Facebook and
- 3:03Speaker 3: at Dave A seventy or the Dave Allen Show on
- 3:05Speaker 3: X The artist formerly known as Twitter Danny is our
- 3:09Speaker 3: dog this morning, and I get the feeling and texting
- 3:11Speaker 3: with you last night, Angie, that Danny has a personal
- 3:15Speaker 3: like kind of a close place in your heart. Is that?
- 3:17Speaker 3: Is that fair?
- 3:19Speaker 5: That is true? Not only does Danny live in the
- 3:21Speaker 5: office that I work in, so I work very closely
- 3:24Speaker 5: with Danny, but he truly, truly is just the one
- 3:28Speaker 5: of the most perfect dogs I've ever met.
- 3:30Speaker 3: So what is it that makes Danny so perfect? I
- 3:33Speaker 3: know he's a beautiful dog. To give us all the
- 3:35Speaker 3: details on.
- 3:35Speaker 5: Danny, so he number one. He is smart, he knows it,
- 3:39Speaker 5: lay down, shake. He's also house trained. He will let
- 3:43Speaker 5: you know when he has to go out. He's very sweet.
- 3:46Speaker 5: He only wants you to pet him and pay attention
- 3:49Speaker 5: to him. Great with kids, Great with every other dog
- 3:52Speaker 5: he's met, from puppies to adult cranky dogs. He's good
- 3:56Speaker 5: with them all. He just is just the sweetest little dog.
- 4:00Speaker 5: He was actually found at an elementary school, which I
- 4:03Speaker 5: think is super cute.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Anyway, Well, it's kind of like he was just going
- 4:06Speaker 3: to you know, trying to find some kids, going hey,
- 4:09Speaker 3: take me home with you.
- 4:10Speaker 5: Just literally like he was just at the elementary school,
- 4:13Speaker 5: greeting kids as they were walking in. And I just
- 4:14Speaker 5: think that is so sweet.
- 4:16Speaker 3: And if you look at the picture, and again I've
- 4:18Speaker 3: got Danny's picture posted on my social media. If you
- 4:20Speaker 3: look at the picture, I know, the first one of
- 4:22Speaker 3: the first things you're going to notice about him and
- 4:23Speaker 3: that picture that you took is he's got a big
- 4:25Speaker 3: old tongue. But you were telling me he's not a
- 4:27Speaker 3: slobber er, is that right?
- 4:30Speaker 5: That is correct. Danny has lots of good manners. He's
- 4:33Speaker 5: very neat and tidy. So no matter his size, the
- 4:36Speaker 5: size of his tongue, his feet, all that, he is
- 4:38Speaker 5: a very mannerly little man.
- 4:40Speaker 3: And he just makes a great pet for somebody. And
- 4:43Speaker 3: you said that, we don't don't really one hundred percent
- 4:46Speaker 3: know how he would be with cats, but based on
- 4:48Speaker 3: his personality, if you had to guess, and obviously you
- 4:50Speaker 3: want to you want to err on the side of
- 4:52Speaker 3: caution air, but probably going to be okay with cats,
- 4:54Speaker 3: it's probably a pretty good guess. Is that right?
- 4:57Speaker 5: Correct? He is so gentle and easy going and where
- 5:00Speaker 5: he's friendly with all dogs of all sizes, he would
- 5:04Speaker 5: likely be good with cats on a slow intro basis,
- 5:07Speaker 5: but just on the air on the side of caution
- 5:09Speaker 5: with cats.
- 5:10Speaker 3: Yeah. But Danny's pictures posted again and he looks like
- 5:13Speaker 3: a tiger. Does he not look kind of look like
- 5:15Speaker 3: a tiger?
- 5:16Speaker 5: He certainly does.
- 5:17Speaker 3: He's a great looking dog. And we'll get back to
- 5:20Speaker 3: Danny here in a couple of moments. I'd like to
- 5:21Speaker 3: get some updates on some things going on to the shelter.
- 5:23Speaker 3: How are the numbers looking at the shelter right now, Angie?
- 5:27Speaker 5: So yesterday when we left, we were up to around
- 5:29Speaker 5: four hundred and twenty animals that we were taking care of,
- 5:32Speaker 5: which is probably the highest number this year. But for
- 5:36Speaker 5: every you know, every adoption we do, we have more
- 5:39Speaker 5: animals coming in that need us. So we're happy to help,
- 5:42Speaker 5: but we also need the public's help to continue to help.
- 5:45Speaker 3: Indeed, talking with Angie Gill and water in for Hannah
- 5:48Speaker 3: this week with our adopt me please put it the
- 5:50Speaker 3: week getting some updates and some things going on to
- 5:51Speaker 3: Cannon Charlesty Main Association. But Dave Alan showing five Idy
- 5:55Speaker 3: Life brought to you a part by Pinnacle Consultants. Pour
- 5:57Speaker 3: into our air quality can cause a variety of health
- 6:00Speaker 3: issues allergies, respiratory problems and more. Medical consultants offer specialized
- 6:04Speaker 3: into our air quality services for residential, commercial and industrial
- 6:08Speaker 3: type settings. Visapinnacle Corp dot net. Because what you don't
- 6:11Speaker 3: know can't hurt you. What kind of stuff are we
- 6:13Speaker 3: in need of at the shelter right now? As just
- 6:15Speaker 3: the typical the washcloths, paper towels. What do we need so.
- 6:19Speaker 5: We're always in need of cleaning supplies. Yesterday I was
- 6:22Speaker 5: informed we are down to our last bottle of laundry
- 6:25Speaker 5: detergent and then we are with four hundred and twenty animals.
- 6:29Speaker 5: We are always in need of food, so Purina show
- 6:32Speaker 5: products and any brand of wet.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Food indeed, and you can just drop those things off
- 6:36Speaker 3: during normal business hours at the shelter. You got this
- 6:39Speaker 3: borrow of Buddy program I've been reading about on your
- 6:41Speaker 3: social media. Talk about that.
- 6:44Speaker 5: So the borrow buds program is perfect? Oh your okay?
- 6:47Speaker 5: The Borrow Buddy program is perfect for people that want
- 6:50Speaker 5: to help out, but can't you know, physically have a
- 6:52Speaker 5: dog in their home. You quite literally get to come
- 6:55Speaker 5: up to the shelter, take the dog of your pick,
- 6:57Speaker 5: takes them out for the day, and then your obligations
- 6:59Speaker 5: are on just before we close. So not only is
- 7:03Speaker 5: it good for the person that's helping out, you get
- 7:06Speaker 5: to you know, short term enjoyments of a dog, but
- 7:10Speaker 5: also it's great for the animals. They get a day
- 7:12Speaker 5: away from the shelter and someone on one time with
- 7:15Speaker 5: a human. So we love the Borrow Buddy program. It's
- 7:18Speaker 5: been super successful. And also as somebody that helps run
- 7:22Speaker 5: the social media page for KHA, I am loving all
- 7:25Speaker 5: the Facebook posts I read and all the pictures I
- 7:28Speaker 5: see of people enjoying their borrow Buddy day.
- 7:30Speaker 3: We have a question here for you for the text
- 7:32Speaker 3: line Angie, it says the new proposed shelter will there
- 7:35Speaker 3: be a lot more kimmels in cages than the current shelter.
- 7:39Speaker 5: So that is the plan. We are hoping to increase
- 7:41Speaker 5: what we can safely house. So once once those official
- 7:46Speaker 5: blueprints come out and we actually start, you know, building
- 7:50Speaker 5: the new shelter, I could give you a more definite answer,
- 7:53Speaker 5: but the plan is to have a shelter that is
- 7:56Speaker 5: up to the levels that we are working on right now.
- 7:58Speaker 5: So just more upgraded things in that facility and more
- 8:03Speaker 5: space in that facility.
- 8:05Speaker 3: Indeed, you folks certainly you certainly needed. And also I
- 8:09Speaker 3: was understand that Hannah and I touched on this a
- 8:12Speaker 3: little bit that the Kegs for Canine events going to
- 8:15Speaker 3: be happening soon September the fourteenth, two o'clock at the
- 8:17Speaker 3: Red Carpet Lounge. Are tickets available for that yet?
- 8:21Speaker 5: Yes, you can purchase tickets on our website. You can. Also,
- 8:24Speaker 5: there are a lot of people that have had trouble
- 8:25Speaker 5: purchasing those on the website. So if you can't get
- 8:28Speaker 5: your particular internet service to work, we would be happy
- 8:31Speaker 5: to you process that for you. At the shelter, you
- 8:34Speaker 5: can come up and we can one hundred percent make
- 8:36Speaker 5: it happen for you. You won't get a paper ticket,
- 8:39Speaker 5: but you'll still have them and you will still be
- 8:41Speaker 5: able to come and drink some beer with some dogs.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Well we hope, hope the dogs aren't drinking beer, but
- 8:46Speaker 3: there's always stories about those certain dogs out there. Quickly,
- 8:50Speaker 3: before we let you go, I know there's a lot
- 8:51Speaker 3: of Harley riders that are in town. I think there's
- 8:55Speaker 3: the Big Hog Convention basically is going around going on
- 8:57Speaker 3: around Charles and I've seen a lot of bikes and
- 8:59Speaker 3: there doing some sort of a fundraiser. And I just
- 9:01Speaker 3: caught the end of this on one of the television
- 9:03Speaker 3: news programs. Thinks to doing some sort of a fundraiser
- 9:06Speaker 3: for you guys, Is that right?
- 9:08Speaker 5: Yeah, So that happens every year. They gather up some
- 9:11Speaker 5: donations and then all the bikers drive all the donations
- 9:15Speaker 5: up to the shelter, carry them in. Donation by donation,
- 9:18Speaker 5: they get their picture made, they get to send a
- 9:20Speaker 5: little bit of time Atkseyha. But it's something that we
- 9:23Speaker 5: look forward to. It's kind of like the staple of
- 9:25Speaker 5: AWE summer is ending hogs for dogs who is around
- 9:28Speaker 5: the corner. So we are super thankful for them, and
- 9:31Speaker 5: we always enjoy getting to see like just the joy
- 9:34Speaker 5: on their faces whenever they bring those donations up to us.
- 9:37Speaker 3: All right, Angie, I appreciate you jumping in there for
- 9:40Speaker 3: handed today. We'll talk again soon. Thanks a lot, and
- 9:42Speaker 3: just got to bless you off for everything you do
- 9:44Speaker 3: up there.
- 9:45Speaker 5: Thank you so much for having me.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Benjy gillenwater from the Canaal Charlesty Band Association. Again, Danny
- 9:50Speaker 3: is our dog this week. Not to be confused with
- 9:52Speaker 3: Danny Jones. Danny, I've got his picture Posted on Facebook
- 9:57Speaker 3: and on the Dave Island Show on X the Artists
- 9:59Speaker 3: for Really known as Twitter. Danny's two years old, around
- 10:01Speaker 3: forty six pounds. Knows a lot of commands. He can scent,
- 10:04Speaker 3: he can lay down, he can shake, loves to cuddle,
- 10:07Speaker 3: very very neat dog, great with kids. I was not
- 10:10Speaker 3: aware of that. Toy Angie just told me that he
- 10:12Speaker 3: actually was taken in from an elementary school when he
- 10:16Speaker 3: was greeting the kids as they were going into the school.
- 10:19Speaker 3: How cool is that the dog is completely housebroken, more
- 10:23Speaker 3: than likely would be fine with cats based on his personality,
- 10:26Speaker 3: but always you want to err on the side of caution.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Just an all around great dog. I'm telling you. If
- 10:30Speaker 3: we've ever and I say this from time to time
- 10:32Speaker 3: about the dogs we feature on the Adopt Me Please
- 10:34Speaker 3: Pet of the Week, if there's one that may be
- 10:36Speaker 3: the perfect dog, this may be the perfect dog. Again,
- 10:41Speaker 3: how I mean zero red flags? Go please, somebody go
- 10:44Speaker 3: get this dog. I've got his picture again. Posted on

- 15:41Speaker 3: have joined us. We have with us Martin from Panhandle Restoration.
- 15:44Speaker 3: Good morning, sir. How are you.
- 15:46Speaker 10: I'm doing great? How are you?
- 15:47Speaker 3: I am fine? Thank you for being here, sir. So
- 15:50Speaker 3: why is this important for Panhandle to get involved in those.
- 15:52Speaker 11: It's important because I mean it's it's in the state
- 15:55Speaker 11: of West Virginia. It means that the kids don't have
- 15:58Speaker 11: to leave West Virginia. It's it's it's important because it's
- 16:02Speaker 11: important to the owners of Panhandle.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Tell us what Panhandle does exactly. So we do we do.
- 16:09Speaker 11: We do firewater, mold damage, we do rebuilds. We have
- 16:13Speaker 11: a construction signed to the company, so we do mitigation
- 16:15Speaker 11: on the rebuilt.
- 16:16Speaker 3: And you guys are all over the stay man, I
- 16:19Speaker 3: mean all over with the.
- 16:20Speaker 11: Largest restoration company in West Virginia.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Okay, And what's a typical day like for you folks?
- 16:27Speaker 11: Just answering calls, going out doing water damage, storm damage. Uh,
- 16:32Speaker 11: It's it's always busy.
- 16:34Speaker 3: I can imagine. I mean, unfortunately in West Virginia we
- 16:37Speaker 3: have some issues with flooding and things of that nature
- 16:39Speaker 3: that probably takes up a lot of your time, A
- 16:41Speaker 3: lot of time. Yeah. And when you go in for
- 16:43Speaker 3: a consultation on that, I mean, how does that do you?
- 16:46Speaker 3: Is it the insurance company contacting you or do you
- 16:48Speaker 3: the individual? How does it work on just on an
- 16:50Speaker 3: average case, On an.
- 16:51Speaker 11: Average case, yes, Usually the insurance company will reach out
- 16:53Speaker 11: to us, tell us they've got something going on. We'll
- 16:56Speaker 11: go meet with the homeowner, go over everything that needs
- 16:58Speaker 11: to be done, and just get it done.
- 17:01Speaker 3: How many employees do you have in West Virginia?
- 17:03Speaker 11: Right in West Virginia, Oh yeah, or wherever the whole company?
- 17:06Speaker 11: I think it's like, I think it's one hundred and fifty,
- 17:08Speaker 11: one hundred and sixty employees down here in Charleston. That's
- 17:11Speaker 11: fifteen of us.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Uh huh. And I have to ask you, and you've
- 17:15Speaker 3: probably heard this from time to time. You ain't from
- 17:17Speaker 3: around here.
- 17:19Speaker 10: No, I'm not.
- 17:20Speaker 11: I'm from Ireland.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Okay, So how does somebody from Ireland did up here?
- 17:24Speaker 10: Uh?
- 17:24Speaker 11: Panhala made me enough?
- 17:25Speaker 3: Or I couldn't refuse it sounds a little bit for both.
- 17:30Speaker 3: All right, give us a website, phone number or whatever
- 17:34Speaker 3: you want to go out there social media where people
- 17:36Speaker 3: can get in touch with it.
- 17:37Speaker 11: It's just ww dot panhandlttle dot com. For the website,
- 17:40Speaker 11: you can call six eight one eight three three one
- 17:43Speaker 11: two seven four.
- 17:44Speaker 3: All right, Martin, we appreciate you being here, man, thanks
- 17:46Speaker 3: a lot, thank you. All right, Panhandle Restoration again, they're
- 17:49Speaker 3: one of our partners here. And again, if you want
- 17:51Speaker 3: to get involved, you could text the word kids to
- 17:53Speaker 3: three five sixty five one or call eight seven seven
- 17:55Speaker 3: seven one nine kids. And again, our title sponsor for
- 17:59Speaker 3: this thing is the Great Folks. To add in the
- 18:00Speaker 3: folks in Styke Wealth Enhancement. So I appreciate we all
- 18:03Speaker 3: appreciate them being a part of it as well. All right,
- 18:06Speaker 3: so let's continue on. We got a couple more folks
- 18:08Speaker 3: in studio with us. I forgot who I said was
- 18:10Speaker 3: going to go first? Was it you or was it you?
- 18:11Speaker 3: I don't remember it was go ahead, give us your
- 18:14Speaker 3: name in your company.
- 18:15Speaker 12: Hi, my name is Kevin Jennings. I'm with Poka Valley Bank.
- 18:17Speaker 3: All Right, you folks at Poka Valley do a lot
- 18:20Speaker 3: of stuff, a lot of stuff in the community. I
- 18:23Speaker 3: mean you're to be commended for that, but specifically with this, Kevin,
- 18:27Speaker 3: what was it that made you guys want to get
- 18:28Speaker 3: involved in this?
- 18:29Speaker 12: Well, again, we're a community bank, so we're involved in
- 18:32Speaker 12: every aspect of all the children, all the kids in
- 18:36Speaker 12: each of our communities. But again, WVU having a facility
- 18:41Speaker 12: where our children can stay in the state to get
- 18:43Speaker 12: the medical treatment they need is very important to us.
- 18:47Speaker 3: And again I think it's a testament. I mean, just
- 18:50Speaker 3: what you folks do, because there's not an event or
- 18:53Speaker 3: a cause pretty much in the Canal Valley region and
- 18:57Speaker 3: beyond that, you don't see you folks being a just
- 19:01Speaker 3: being a part of it.
- 19:02Speaker 12: Yeah, we tried to get heavily involved. And again, we
- 19:05Speaker 12: we believe relationships matter, so we try to develop that relationship.
- 19:09Speaker 12: And uh, sometimes that means giving good support to good causes.
- 19:14Speaker 3: All right, I'm giving you the opportunity to sell the
- 19:15Speaker 3: bank a little bit. I mean, what is it that
- 19:17Speaker 3: so there's there's there's a ton of banks out there.
- 19:20Speaker 3: What is it that sets yours apart?
- 19:22Speaker 12: It has to be our customer service. We get to
- 19:24Speaker 12: know you as an individual and as a person. It's
- 19:27Speaker 12: not just about an account number with us, It's about
- 19:30Speaker 12: knowing who you are and being able to meet all
- 19:33Speaker 12: of your financial needs.
- 19:35Speaker 3: And over the last couple of years, I mean, you know,
- 19:37Speaker 3: I'm an old guy, so I remember growing up when
- 19:40Speaker 3: all the banks, all the all the banks were community
- 19:42Speaker 3: you know, it was, you know, no matter fill in
- 19:44Speaker 3: the city here, bank and trust or whatever. You know
- 19:46Speaker 3: that They're just not just not that way anymore. There's
- 19:48Speaker 3: just so many, you know, many cases national corporations that
- 19:52Speaker 3: have come in and I'm not knocking them. They do
- 19:54Speaker 3: what they do, but there is an advantage to dealing
- 19:56Speaker 3: with with with local folks.
- 19:58Speaker 12: Yeah, that's correct. I mean, our president is very accessible.
- 20:02Speaker 12: She's located in Walton, uh and we have customers come
- 20:06Speaker 12: in all the time and go straight into the president's office.
- 20:09Speaker 12: And you just don't see that in the larger banks.
- 20:11Speaker 12: But that's understandably so. But they're you know, a lot
- 20:14Speaker 12: of their corporate offices are out of state. But we
- 20:17Speaker 12: were very local, we can make local decisions and we
- 20:21Speaker 12: just love serving our community.
- 20:23Speaker 3: And these are the type people that you see at
- 20:25Speaker 3: the ballgames or the churches or the grocery store. It's
- 20:27Speaker 3: it's local, local people correct. Something to be said for that. So, Kevin,
- 20:31Speaker 3: appreciate you being here. Thanks a lot, and thanks for
- 20:34Speaker 3: your commitment of not only you, but all of your employees,
- 20:37Speaker 3: uh that that have helped to make this thing a success.
- 20:40Speaker 3: I appreciate you being here.
- 20:41Speaker 12: Well, thanks so much. It was our pleasure and we
- 20:43Speaker 12: hope this does a great job. And if you're listening
- 20:46Speaker 12: and you're able to contribute, contribute to the calls.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Yeah, and again this is speaking of local. I mean
- 20:51Speaker 3: that's the you know, we're a West Virginia based media company,
- 20:53Speaker 3: which is very very rare. It seems there's not a
- 20:57Speaker 3: whole lot of West Virginia based media companies here any more.
- 21:00Speaker 3: We are, and we're dealing with you know, WVU Children's
- 21:04Speaker 3: so we're trying to keep it local as much as possible. Kevin,
- 21:06Speaker 3: I appreciate you being here. Man, great to meet you. Thanks,
- 21:08Speaker 3: thank you. But Dave Island showing five Eddie Livee presented
- 21:10Speaker 3: apart by General Hardware Windfield and Milton and General number
- 21:13Speaker 3: of Windfield for all projects big and small shop locally
- 21:16Speaker 3: visit General Hardware WV dot com. We got another one
- 21:19Speaker 3: of our community partners in here from the business world. Hey,
- 21:21Speaker 3: weren't you just here last week?
- 21:23Speaker 13: I was, and it's really hard to go on after
- 21:25Speaker 13: Kevin there. That's they do a lot of stuff.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Sean is here from from Trojan Landing. Now, you were
- 21:31Speaker 3: here last week and he had a big announcement for
- 21:33Speaker 3: us that you guys are going to get into the
- 21:35Speaker 3: bike business. A little bit of a delay in that
- 21:38Speaker 3: form one understanding nothing that you really can control. Talk
- 21:41Speaker 3: about that a little now.
- 21:42Speaker 13: We have a little bit of an insurance delay. But
- 21:44Speaker 13: in the meantime we've we opened up our what we
- 21:49Speaker 13: call the Marina Mart. We now have a little tiny
- 21:51Speaker 13: convenience store there on property to go along with the
- 21:54Speaker 13: food truck. So in the evenings if people just need
- 21:58Speaker 13: a little bit of chips, drinks, things like that, there,
- 22:01Speaker 13: we got a little store right there on the corner
- 22:03Speaker 13: of the property that you can get in and get
- 22:05Speaker 13: out really quick.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Guys, they're kind of constantly reinventing yourselves in there. Yeah,
- 22:09Speaker 3: I mean not reinventing, but just adding adding, because you
- 22:12Speaker 3: did the food truck and the whole deal.
- 22:14Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 22:15Speaker 13: So now with the little Marina Mark, we have uh.
- 22:17Speaker 3: That's a cool name, Marina Mark.
- 22:21Speaker 13: Yeah, and it even has we have an online feature
- 22:23Speaker 13: where you can go on and order online and just
- 22:25Speaker 13: pick it up whenever you swing through, pay for it
- 22:28Speaker 13: online and everything.
- 22:29Speaker 3: So, I mean, I guess the idea from that just
- 22:31Speaker 3: came from simply convenience, right.
- 22:32Speaker 10: Yeah, convenience.
- 22:33Speaker 13: Uh well, we were deluted for the right customers to
- 22:36Speaker 13: go over the hill. We started putting ice in their boats,
- 22:40Speaker 13: and we just wanted to go on from that. So
- 22:43Speaker 13: now they can a lot of our you know, main
- 22:46Speaker 13: customers can come in order chips, sodas, gatorades and we
- 22:52Speaker 13: can have that in the boat with their ice, and
- 22:54Speaker 13: uh then we side to open it up to the public.
- 22:57Speaker 3: All right, So why get involved in something like this.
- 23:00Speaker 10: It's about kids.
- 23:01Speaker 13: I mean, there's a lot of unfortunate kids out there
- 23:04Speaker 13: that have to deal with stuff they shouldn't have to
- 23:06Speaker 13: deal with at their age and anything that, you know,
- 23:09Speaker 13: even for us, I mean, we're a very family centric business.
- 23:13Speaker 13: I mean, the owners are in every day, including myself
- 23:19Speaker 13: just you know, being accessible to our employees and their families, and.
- 23:25Speaker 10: You know, in the way that everybody.
- 23:28Speaker 13: Can walk up and talk to any of us, and
- 23:32Speaker 13: but we know what's going on with their family, you know,
- 23:34Speaker 13: because I you know, I had an employee who recently
- 23:37Speaker 13: has had to take his kid to Kentucky and do
- 23:40Speaker 13: some things, and you know, we try to support everybody
- 23:43Speaker 13: we can. And it's like I said, it's it's very
- 23:46Speaker 13: unfortunate these kids have to go through this. And what's
- 23:49Speaker 13: great about this is just like Kevin said, it's it's here.
- 23:52Speaker 13: It's local. It's the kids in our community just as
- 23:55Speaker 13: much as is the kids in any other community. But
- 23:58Speaker 13: we're able to see a direct impact.
- 24:00Speaker 3: So as we start sewing to transition into the fall months,
- 24:05Speaker 3: what changes at Trojan Landing as we head into the
- 24:07Speaker 3: fall months, What does that look like for you?
- 24:10Speaker 13: Well, we're gonna switch from putting your boat in the
- 24:13Speaker 13: water to putting your boat in storage and start getting
- 24:16Speaker 13: your you know, basically getting the machines wrapped up for
- 24:20Speaker 13: the wintertime. So we'll be even more busy on the
- 24:24Speaker 13: ground than we have been throughout the summer.
- 24:27Speaker 3: All right, Well, Shawn, I appreciate you and the folks
- 24:30Speaker 3: from PoCA Valley and also this is the ones we've
- 24:33Speaker 3: had on today, and also from Panhandle for stopping by
- 24:35Speaker 3: the studio this morning. I know, we were kind of
- 24:37Speaker 3: giving you all the rounds going to all their stations.
- 24:39Speaker 3: This is something we have very few events in this
- 24:41Speaker 3: company that all of the stations across the state. I mean,
- 24:44Speaker 3: what you're hearing here and Charleston is also going on
- 24:47Speaker 3: in Morgantown. We got a couple of our people here
- 24:49Speaker 3: in Charleston. Rob Reel from ninety six one KWS is
- 24:52Speaker 3: actually in Morgantown at the hospital right now. Jenny Murray
- 24:56Speaker 3: from V one hundred is also at the hospital right now.
- 24:58Speaker 3: So this is a company wide it's what you do
- 25:01Speaker 3: when you're West Virginia.
- 25:01Speaker 13: People met, that's right, And it's amazing what you guys
- 25:03Speaker 13: are doing. I mean, this is and we talk about
- 25:06Speaker 13: the Saint Judes and things of the world, but you know,
- 25:08Speaker 13: when you can directly impact your local communities, that's amazing.
- 25:12Speaker 3: Oh, we had a great relationship for years with Saint Jews,
- 25:14Speaker 3: but we decided to make the decision to try to
- 25:16Speaker 3: keep it a little bit more locally. They still do
- 25:18Speaker 3: great things. Nothing negative about them whatsoever. We just kind
- 25:21Speaker 3: of want to keep it in state. Hey, Sean, want
- 25:23Speaker 3: to have you back on when when we're ready to
- 25:25Speaker 3: talk bikes again. I want to be back on all right, Sean.
- 25:28Speaker 3: We'll let you go.
- 25:29Speaker 10: Man.
- 25:29Speaker 3: I know you got stuff to do. It's Friday, so
- 25:30Speaker 3: get out there and do what you do. Sean Hardman

- 30:19Speaker 18: But I will be singing with Shine this week, one
- 30:22Speaker 18: of my absolute favorite bands to ever ever play with.
- 30:24Speaker 18: We do some classic rock and some old school, a
- 30:28Speaker 18: little new stuff, something everybody will like.
- 30:31Speaker 3: Now, where are you from here? Local A?
- 30:32Speaker 18: Well, I live here, but I am originally from Oakland, California.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Okay, how does one end up here from Oakland, California?
- 30:39Speaker 18: Well, one ends up here because my father is born
- 30:41Speaker 18: and raised here. I wanted to come back to school.
- 30:43Speaker 18: It is really nice living here. I love living here.
- 30:46Speaker 18: I love the weather, I love the seasons, I love
- 30:49Speaker 18: the cost of living. And then you go to school
- 30:51Speaker 18: for one hundred years and I'm actually working on a
- 30:54Speaker 18: doctorate here, so I'll be staying here.
- 30:56Speaker 8: Cool.
- 30:56Speaker 3: So when you were growing up and what age did
- 30:59Speaker 3: you start singing?
- 31:00Speaker 18: Oh gosh, I've been singing ever since I can remember.
- 31:02Speaker 18: I think my first canal straight out. My mom can sing,
- 31:05Speaker 18: my dad can sing. You know, church is one of
- 31:07Speaker 18: those things that inspires you to get better. Sure, mom
- 31:10Speaker 18: and dad did it, Shela did it?
- 31:12Speaker 3: What were you listening to growing up?
- 31:14Speaker 19: Now?
- 31:14Speaker 18: That's a funny one because I have a mom and
- 31:17Speaker 18: dad and stepdad. Mama liked old school like Motown. Dad
- 31:23Speaker 18: liked old School R and B. Stepdad liked rock so
- 31:27Speaker 18: Creden's Clearwater Revival, Pink Floyd. So those were the things
- 31:31Speaker 18: that were a little interesting to see the little brown
- 31:34Speaker 18: girl singing. But I think I do pretty good.
- 31:38Speaker 3: How So how did you hook up of these folks
- 31:40Speaker 3: that shine? You said you liked it.
- 31:41Speaker 18: You know, I've sung with a lot of bands here.
- 31:43Speaker 18: I've sung with a lot of really really good musicians here.
- 31:46Speaker 18: I had my own band, Hybrid Soul. I've sung with
- 31:48Speaker 18: Bob Thompson, I've sung with Stratus, and they were all
- 31:51Speaker 18: bands that I respect and people I love. However, Dennis Harmeson,
- 31:54Speaker 18: who's over at Banker's Life, I mean just a heck
- 31:57Speaker 18: of a guy. He had heard me and was looking
- 31:59Speaker 18: for a singer, and he stalked me quite honestly for
- 32:03Speaker 18: two years and kept saying, Hey, I need you to
- 32:05Speaker 18: sing in this band.
- 32:06Speaker 3: I was like, at what point does this become a crime.
- 32:08Speaker 18: Yeah, So a friend of mine finally said, look, there's
- 32:11Speaker 18: this guy and he keeps asking me about you for
- 32:13Speaker 18: two years. He's like, I'm gonna get this girl to
- 32:15Speaker 18: be my singer, and finally I met with him and
- 32:17Speaker 18: he offered me a lot of money to sing for him.
- 32:19Speaker 3: So well, there he go. And Cody Wilson is also
- 32:21Speaker 3: going to be performing tomorrow night. Is that Aron?
- 32:23Speaker 18: We have a really great lineup. I hope a lot
- 32:25Speaker 18: of people come. Last year was phenomenal. The musicians are
- 32:29Speaker 18: fantastic and I'm really proud to be doing this for
- 32:32Speaker 18: the third year.
- 32:32Speaker 3: Okay, now this is all happening to Bogies Driving Range
- 32:35Speaker 3: of Tornado. We get the folks from Bogeys with us.
- 32:38Speaker 3: Once you guys introduced yourself to the audience, Please not
- 32:41Speaker 3: everybody at once.
- 32:42Speaker 10: Yeah, that's I'm Manger Ford and Jay Nelson.
- 32:44Speaker 3: Okay, So tell us about Bogies for people that aren't
- 32:47Speaker 3: familiar with it.
- 32:48Speaker 4: Uh. Yeah.
- 32:48Speaker 20: We're the Driving Range and barbecue restaurant out in Tornado,
- 32:52Speaker 20: right outside Saint Albans. This is year seven out there
- 32:55Speaker 20: for us, and we're a little live entertainment venue and
- 33:00Speaker 20: little spots for family and animals and dogs and anything
- 33:06Speaker 20: you want goes out of Bogey's.
- 33:08Speaker 3: So why why did you guys decide to do these?
- 33:10Speaker 3: So this is the third year that you've done this
- 33:11Speaker 3: is that right? I mean, so what what what went
- 33:13Speaker 3: in a decision to do this?
- 33:14Speaker 21: Well, we had tried before in the past to do
- 33:17Speaker 21: like a concert series and have several events, four or
- 33:20Speaker 21: five lined up over the course of time, and then
- 33:23Speaker 21: we got with Denny, we got with Cody Shyla and
- 33:29Speaker 21: decided to put together just one big end of the
- 33:32Speaker 21: summer bash and put all of our focus into that,
- 33:35Speaker 21: and it's just kind of blossomed into this.
- 33:37Speaker 10: It's really turned out really nice.
- 33:39Speaker 3: Now Bogie's, you know, it's the name is Bogie's Driving Range. However,
- 33:42Speaker 3: you guys are just about You're known just as much
- 33:45Speaker 3: for your food as anything else. And were you not
- 33:48Speaker 3: voted the best hot dogs in West Virginia?
- 33:51Speaker 10: West Virginia.
- 33:52Speaker 3: What makes the hot dogs there so good? Because I've
- 33:54Speaker 3: never had one, So tell me what what makes them
- 33:55Speaker 3: so good?
- 33:56Speaker 5: Well?
- 33:56Speaker 20: No, Well, we do everything fresh. Everything in our whole
- 33:59Speaker 20: menu is home made. Everything is over a wood fire.
- 34:02Speaker 20: So we smoked the chili, we roast the hot dog
- 34:05Speaker 20: on a wood fire.
- 34:06Speaker 3: And the way God intended.
- 34:07Speaker 10: That's right, that's right, right, I'll be that's right.
- 34:10Speaker 20: So we we make everything from scratch and we just
- 34:13Speaker 20: take a lot of pride and quality and making everything good.
- 34:16Speaker 3: So in addition to the music and the food, what
- 34:18Speaker 3: else you got going on out there tomorrow?
- 34:20Speaker 20: Oh, we've got all kinds We've got I'm looking at you.
- 34:23Speaker 3: You got water slides, and you've got fireworks and games.
- 34:26Speaker 20: Yeah, we got we make you the star entertainments out
- 34:28Speaker 20: there with the three sixty photo booth. We've got crafts
- 34:31Speaker 20: of the cold ice cream truck will be out there
- 34:33Speaker 20: for the kids. We got the quantums, got blow ups, coming,
- 34:36Speaker 20: water slides.
- 34:37Speaker 10: It's gonna be a good time.
- 34:38Speaker 3: Now, what's the price of admission?
- 34:40Speaker 20: Twenty five dollars for adults, It gets you the buffet
- 34:43Speaker 20: and access to all the all the fun, and fifteen
- 34:46Speaker 20: for kids and that still gets you everything as well.
- 34:49Speaker 3: All right, So what sounds like it's going to be
- 34:51Speaker 3: a lot of fun. And we're so looking forward to
- 34:53Speaker 3: hearing you and the and the music out there tomorrow.
- 34:56Speaker 18: And can I just say what I loved about this event?
- 34:58Speaker 18: And I kept asking Dan, are we gonna do that again?
- 35:00Speaker 18: We're gonna do that again? Is because you look out there.
- 35:02Speaker 18: I'm standing up on that stage, and I see kids,
- 35:05Speaker 18: I see grandma's, I see uncles, I see you know,
- 35:08Speaker 18: Jim Bob, I see you know, everybody's out there and
- 35:11Speaker 18: they're all having a good old time. They're all having
- 35:14Speaker 18: a good old time. But even my mother, who is
- 35:17Speaker 18: a snowbird, she said, are we doing that one gig again?
- 35:20Speaker 18: Are you going to take me to that? Because they
- 35:22Speaker 18: had good food, that's what you said yesterday she had,
- 35:25Speaker 18: they had great food. And I said, yep, we'll be
- 35:26Speaker 18: doing that. And I'm telling you just seeing everybody together,
- 35:30Speaker 18: all ages, all kinds of people is beautiful.
- 35:32Speaker 3: And I mentioned earlier, I said, I don't want to
- 35:34Speaker 3: rush the season, but I said, it's kind of an
- 35:36Speaker 3: end of summer bash. But we're a week away from
- 35:38Speaker 3: Labor Day. People. Football season starts, you know, next week
- 35:41Speaker 3: in the Mountaineers Marshall NFL here in a couple of weeks,
- 35:43Speaker 3: and high schools West Virginia start next week. So people
- 35:45Speaker 3: are kind of looking toward falls.
- 35:47Speaker 10: Sure now in the past few days, but almost made
- 35:49Speaker 10: you feel like.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Well, let's go to disappear. It's going to be an
- 35:51Speaker 3: upper night, so be sure to hydrate when you come
- 35:55Speaker 3: out there far because you'll have plenty of beverages of
- 35:57Speaker 3: all kinds for people to hydrate. With all kinds of
- 35:59Speaker 3: water and other things.
- 36:01Speaker 18: And we're really grateful to our sponsors, Baker's Life too.
- 36:04Speaker 18: They always are sponsoring things that are for the community,
- 36:06Speaker 18: and this is definitely something they've made it to where
- 36:09Speaker 18: it can be cheap enough that we can have a
- 36:10Speaker 18: good time and not have to break the bank.
- 36:12Speaker 3: Absolutely, they've been great.
- 36:13Speaker 20: They have a huge fireworks show at the end of
- 36:15Speaker 20: the night at Banker's Sponsors and they do a great job.
- 36:19Speaker 3: All right, let me we got something I want to
- 36:21Speaker 3: get to with you guys at Bogi's big announcement. A big,

- 44:01Speaker 3: And of course Tim Brady does a great job with
- 44:03Speaker 3: the Charleston CVB. But you know sometimes, and we see
- 44:07Speaker 3: this in Putnam County. There's the Hurricane Group, and there's
- 44:09Speaker 3: also because there's more than just the City of Charleston
- 44:11Speaker 3: in Kanawa County. Tim does a fantastic job with that,
- 44:14Speaker 3: but there's I mean, we just had to focus from
- 44:16Speaker 3: Bogey's on that out in Tornado. You got things going
- 44:18Speaker 3: on all over, which is why the commission president is here.
- 44:21Speaker 3: But you've got a big old county to promote, and we're.
- 44:24Speaker 19: Super excited about it. And we're excited to promote our
- 44:26Speaker 19: county and really celebrate them and do what Tim has
- 44:29Speaker 19: been able to do in the City of Charleston, Tim
- 44:31Speaker 19: and Jama, we are really excited to do that in
- 44:34Speaker 19: our county.
- 44:36Speaker 3: Commissioner. I had the opportunity on Wednesday to attend a
- 44:38Speaker 3: summit at Valley Park in the Hurricane and it focused
- 44:41Speaker 3: on tourism. People there from Kanawha, Putnam Cable all there.
- 44:45Speaker 3: As I said, I'm a part of the Putnam County CVB,
- 44:47Speaker 3: among other things. The State Commission Tourism Commissioner Chelsea Ruby
- 44:51Speaker 3: was there. It was a packed house out there, and
- 44:53Speaker 3: I think the bottom line that came from it is
- 44:57Speaker 3: what's good for Putnam County, good for Kanaal, and what's
- 45:01Speaker 3: good for Cabal this whole kind of advantage valley type thing.
- 45:03Speaker 3: But another takeaway from it is that people are getting
- 45:06Speaker 3: the message that tourism in West Virginia is the future.
- 45:09Speaker 10: Yeah. Absolutely.
- 45:10Speaker 22: I mean, obviously we want to make sure that with
- 45:13Speaker 22: the state and the county, we're taking care of all
- 45:14Speaker 22: of our industries for workforce, but tourism is the low
- 45:18Speaker 22: hanging fruit that we're seeing with our county government. I mean,
- 45:21Speaker 22: look at Shawne Sports Complex, how important and how successful
- 45:25Speaker 22: that's been in bringing so many people from out of
- 45:27Speaker 22: state out of the area right here into Kannall County.
- 45:30Speaker 22: They're going to our mom and pop shops, They're supporting
- 45:32Speaker 22: the economy, making more jobs. They're going to the restaurants,
- 45:36Speaker 22: which is increasing more amenities for our locals. I mean,
- 45:39Speaker 22: this is really the next future of Kannall County is
- 45:42Speaker 22: looking at tourism, and I think the County Commission is
- 45:45Speaker 22: very proud of the projects that we've been supporting and
- 45:47Speaker 22: the ones that we're announcing. I think that we're going
- 45:49Speaker 22: to really see an opportunity. Nothing to hold from Putnam County,
- 45:52Speaker 22: but I think that, you know, Kannaal County is on
- 45:54Speaker 22: the verge of really becoming a focal point of the
- 45:57Speaker 22: state of tourism. I think we have the infrastructure to
- 45:59Speaker 22: do that. I think we have the community, the people
- 46:02Speaker 22: to do that, and I think we have the opportunity
- 46:04Speaker 22: and we're kind of starting to see that with our
- 46:05Speaker 22: outdoor recreation.
- 46:07Speaker 3: It's about to get even bigger with the Hatfield McCoy Trail. Now,
- 46:09Speaker 3: I'll give you a little bit of background info on
- 46:11Speaker 3: the Hatfil McCoy Trail. I set in on some of
- 46:13Speaker 3: the first meetings of the nineteen nineties in Logan County
- 46:17Speaker 3: when the hat Film McCoy Trail was first being discussed,
- 46:20Speaker 3: and there was a lot of skepticism about it. You know,
- 46:22Speaker 3: I'm not gonna lie because people thought, well, why nobody's
- 46:24Speaker 3: going to come here to ride these trails. The trails
- 46:26Speaker 3: we've been on in the mountains for years. We can't take. Boy,
- 46:29Speaker 3: we're a lot of people wrong because it has brought
- 46:32Speaker 3: millions of dollars into not only southern West Virginia, but
- 46:36Speaker 3: now it's expanding including Kanawah County.
- 46:38Speaker 22: Now, let me tell you as somebody who's a native
- 46:41Speaker 22: to Kanaal County, was born and raised in the Saint Albans,
- 46:43Speaker 22: live in Charleston now now sitting as a commissioned president,
- 46:46Speaker 22: we have been jealous of the southern West Virginia for
- 46:50Speaker 22: having hat Film McCoy trails, and it's been a topic
- 46:54Speaker 22: with our leaders here of how do we get hatfil
- 46:56Speaker 22: McCoy to Kanall County. You know, there's always the challenges
- 46:59Speaker 22: of the terrain. You have to have a parcel big enough.
- 47:02Speaker 22: What I was able to find out about two years
- 47:04Speaker 22: ago was that the county commission from a land cell
- 47:07Speaker 22: back in nineteen seventy nine. That actually is why we
- 47:10Speaker 22: have Meadowood Park today. In Tornado, we had about six
- 47:13Speaker 22: hundred and fifty acres of undeveloped land that is ripe
- 47:17Speaker 22: for a potential for hatful McCoy trails. I got with
- 47:20Speaker 22: Jeff Filusk, who Dave, you are good friends with my
- 47:23Speaker 22: friends sat in my office just about two years ago.
- 47:26Speaker 22: I showed him this plan and I think his jaw
- 47:28Speaker 22: dropped to the floor with the opportunity. They were excited.
- 47:31Speaker 22: We jumped into it immediately, and so now we're proud
- 47:35Speaker 22: to announce, as we've talked about before, on Tuesday at
- 47:38Speaker 22: ten am, we're going to be having the grand opening
- 47:40Speaker 22: ceremony for the Hatfield McCoy Dirt Bike Trails in Tornado.
- 47:45Speaker 22: This is going to be over thirty miles of dirt
- 47:47Speaker 22: bike trails. It's what we can We can't find anything else,
- 47:50Speaker 22: so I'm going to say it. It's the largest dirt
- 47:52Speaker 22: bike trail system in the United States.
- 47:55Speaker 3: Until somebody tells you otherwise, it is well.
- 47:57Speaker 22: And what's important about this is it's self dedicated. It's
- 47:59Speaker 22: dedicated to single tracks, so only dirt bike can be
- 48:03Speaker 22: on this. This is for ATVs, your TV side by sides. No,
- 48:06Speaker 22: this is just for dirt bikers. And the reason why
- 48:09Speaker 22: that's important is because this is a growing industry.
- 48:12Speaker 3: With people riding a dirt bike. No idea how big
- 48:14Speaker 3: this is.
- 48:15Speaker 22: And what they keep telling Hatam McCoy is we'd like
- 48:18Speaker 22: to have our own trails. You know, it's the old adage,
- 48:21Speaker 22: the ATVs don't like the dirt bikers, and dirt bikers don't.
- 48:24Speaker 10: Like the atv is.
- 48:25Speaker 22: So this is something that's solely for them. Obviously, there's
- 48:28Speaker 22: still want to be the trails for the ATVs down
- 48:30Speaker 22: you know in southern West Virginia, but this is something
- 48:33Speaker 22: just for them, and we're getting calls right now. Just yesterday,
- 48:37Speaker 22: we got a call from a family of four who
- 48:39Speaker 22: lives six hours away, calling and asking how where can
- 48:42Speaker 22: we stay in Kenall County. They're coming this weekend. They're
- 48:45Speaker 22: staying all weekend for this trail.
- 48:46Speaker 3: That's awesome. And when they come, they spend money. And
- 48:49Speaker 3: that's where people like like like Kerry and I come
- 48:52Speaker 3: in because the trails are great, but we want to
- 48:54Speaker 3: know how much money do they spend when they're here?
- 48:56Speaker 3: Where do they go to eat? And that's where you
- 48:57Speaker 3: come in.
- 48:58Speaker 19: I'm very excited to support them were I mean, Bogie's
- 49:01Speaker 19: you just spoke to them, so we're super excited. Well,
- 49:05Speaker 19: but yeah, we want to you know, really highlight and
- 49:07Speaker 19: champion all of our local businesses that you know, support
- 49:11Speaker 19: this endeavor because it's going to be a very exciting one.
- 49:13Speaker 3: I got a text here for you. Commissioner says a
- 49:15Speaker 3: big Dave, big thanks to you, Commissioner Wheeler and the
- 49:18Speaker 3: rest of the Kenawh County commission in Parks folks, A
- 49:20Speaker 3: simple text into your show last week sparked inspiration to
- 49:23Speaker 3: begin offering a discount for first responders and veterans at
- 49:26Speaker 3: Coonskin and Big Ben Golf courses. Big Ben Golf Courses,
- 49:30Speaker 3: which is conveniently next door to Boge's driving range. Your counterpart,
- 49:34Speaker 3: mister Selango, was on a couple of weeks ago and
- 49:37Speaker 3: this texter who I don't know who the texts are,
- 49:39Speaker 3: texted in and said we should offer this, And a
- 49:42Speaker 3: couple of days later I get a text from Commissioner
- 49:45Speaker 3: Slango that says done. Yep, you're offering discounts now.
- 49:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 49:49Speaker 22: Actually it was that day Commissioner Slango brought that to
- 49:52Speaker 22: staff and when they asked me if it can be done,
- 49:55Speaker 22: I said absolutely. I think it's a great idea. So
- 49:57Speaker 22: I know, Ben got with our part, director Jeff Hutchinson,
- 50:02Speaker 22: and they've worked out how they can make that happen,
- 50:04Speaker 22: and I think it's ten percent at this point.
- 50:07Speaker 3: All right, But Dave Allen showing five eighty live is
- 50:09Speaker 3: brod too, part by bright Wing Insurance the Maze Agency.
- 50:12Speaker 3: They now offer small business insurance to the four major carriers,
- 50:14Speaker 3: the Hartford Travelers, Progressive of Next College. Stop by and

- 50:19Speaker 3: Valley Roads Suite one and Hurricane three zero four eight
- 50:22Speaker 3: one four two five zero nine or visit Brightway Mays
- 50:25Speaker 3: dot com elsewhere throughout them. We got the big announcement
- 50:28Speaker 3: about the halfil McCoy Trail Commissioner and also carry from
- 50:30Speaker 3: the Canal CVB. What else are we looking forward to?
- 50:33Speaker 22: Well, I mean we're just going to be working on
- 50:34Speaker 22: what we already know this working best. Obviously, we have
- 50:37Speaker 22: the big project with the Halfil McCoy. It's going to
- 50:39Speaker 22: be opening. We're going to see tremendous success from that,
- 50:41Speaker 22: I believe you just hearing from Boge's. What we need
- 50:44Speaker 22: to do at this point is make sure that we're
- 50:46Speaker 22: supporting our lodging all in Knall County, including Charleston, making
- 50:49Speaker 22: sure that that information for these projects are available, and
- 50:53Speaker 22: we're working and making sure that people when they come in,
- 50:55Speaker 22: not only are they going to enjoy the hafilm McCoy trails.
- 50:58Speaker 22: But they're going to be able to know which rest
- 51:00Speaker 22: taurants they go to, breweries, which hotels they can stay at,
- 51:03Speaker 22: which are more formidable to them bringing a trailer in.
- 51:06Speaker 22: You know that type of information providing that That's why
- 51:08Speaker 22: we're so excited about bringing carry on. She is now
- 51:11Speaker 22: going to be the executive director for our Kanak County CVB,
- 51:14Speaker 22: which we are rebatalizing. You know, we looked at what
- 51:17Speaker 22: City of Charleston's done with Tim and I'll tell you,
- 51:19Speaker 22: I'll admit it on air. I'm jealous. I think they'd
- 51:22Speaker 22: done an excellent job with Regatta, and I want to
- 51:24Speaker 22: see what we can do throughout the entire county. It's
- 51:27Speaker 22: supporting all of our municipalities and unincorporated areas. I mean,
- 51:31Speaker 22: you also know Yakfest. Where did Yackfest and Saint Albans start, Well,
- 51:34Speaker 22: it started from tord Cole, which started with the Coal
- 51:36Speaker 22: River Group right out of our own park Metalwood. They
- 51:39Speaker 22: bring over twelve hundred paddlers for tor to coal every year.
- 51:44Speaker 22: There's no reason why the Kanaal County through our CBB
- 51:47Speaker 22: can't support that market it and make it bigger. I
- 51:50Speaker 22: think we're going to look for those low hanging fruits
- 51:52Speaker 22: and start supporting them. But at the end of the
- 51:54Speaker 22: day too, we're also working a lot of big projects.
- 51:56Speaker 22: We've got the big trail system for mountain bikes out Clinton,
- 52:00Speaker 22: and we're working with something in eastern Kennall County. I
- 52:03Speaker 22: know we get an issue with that, making sure that
- 52:05Speaker 22: eastern Kannall County will be having some trails down the road.
- 52:08Speaker 3: I promise that Commissioner Wheeler and Kerrie welcome aboard. Great
- 52:11Speaker 3: to have you here, all right.
- 52:12Speaker 12: It nice to be here, all.
- 52:13Speaker 3: Right, and best to luck to you in your new role.
- 52:14Speaker 3: I'm sure you'll do great. You had a great county
- 52:16Speaker 3: commissioner work to work with as well. All Right, we
- 52:18Speaker 3: gotta go. Thank you so much to all of our
- 52:20Speaker 3: callers and texters on the show today. Again a reminder,
- 52:22Speaker 3: I am going to be on vacation next week, so
- 52:25Speaker 3: I'm gonna miss you announcement on Tuesday, but we'll have
- 52:27Speaker 3: you on maybe the following week to kind of give
- 52:29Speaker 3: us a wrap up. Ryan Nicholson was our producer today.
- 52:32Speaker 3: The Radiothon continues Hoppy coming up at ten oh six.
- 52:36Speaker 3: I will see you the day after Labor Day till
- 52:38Speaker 3: then have fun. I love somebody.
