- 0:01Speaker 1: With a do little Baby. We back a game.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Yeah another one.
- 0:07Speaker 1: Yeah, Man back again with the Grounded show. Another episode
- 0:11Speaker 1: for your ear lobes. You heard me, Hey Man, I've
- 0:15Speaker 1: been out and about lately, Man and been rubbing shoulders
- 0:18Speaker 1: with some people, keeping some spots. Possibly to get a
- 0:23Speaker 1: little in studio show with the podcast. Man. I know
- 0:26Speaker 1: that we already had talked about that with just letting
- 0:28Speaker 1: the people know about to take this thing up a
- 0:31Speaker 1: notch man events events on the way, you know what
- 0:34Speaker 1: I mean. If you're in the central Florida area, shout
- 0:37Speaker 1: out to Jojo Man. I was actually talking to him yesterday.
- 0:39Speaker 1: They just had a successful event that just passed. I
- 0:42Speaker 1: mean they have, they had a few. I mean, he
- 0:44Speaker 1: just puts on events, that's his thing. But they've been
- 0:47Speaker 1: on a nice little role. He was talking to me
- 0:49Speaker 1: about a specific vibe kind of event that we've been
- 0:51Speaker 1: talking about that me and Joe have been talking about.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Me and Jojo have been talking about and it's definitely
- 0:57Speaker 1: that time to put it all together. Like I said,
- 0:59Speaker 1: if you're in that sense Florida area, or if you
- 1:01Speaker 1: want to take the trip, once we start doing these
- 1:03Speaker 1: little things, definitely tap in. We're gonna let y'all know
- 1:07Speaker 1: as soon as we have any details.
- 1:10Speaker 3: But when everybody come out, man, no for real, Like,
- 1:13Speaker 3: because we do have people who engage with us, who
- 1:16Speaker 3: do enjoy the conversations we have, that's a great time
- 1:20Speaker 3: to come out and have the conversations where us see
- 1:22Speaker 3: it in person, uh, you know, meet meet, How we
- 1:27Speaker 3: interact with each other live, it's a whole different vibe
- 1:30Speaker 3: than just watching us on you know, Instagram, TikTok clips.
- 1:33Speaker 2: So it's a good thing to be participating facts.
- 1:36Speaker 1: And I feel like we're at this point now too
- 1:39Speaker 1: where I'm seeing consistent commenters andkers on socials that we
- 1:45Speaker 1: don't know, you know what I'm saying. I don't know
- 1:47Speaker 1: if they're local or what. But it'd be definitely dope
- 1:50Speaker 1: to connect with people that are that we already know
- 1:54Speaker 1: that listen to the podcast, or just the fans of
- 1:56Speaker 1: what we're doing and trust in the vision of what
- 1:58Speaker 1: we're doing. But definitely is something that we're going to
- 2:02Speaker 1: bring to the table a lot of dope things on
- 2:04Speaker 1: the way. Feel like the road is clear to finally
- 2:09Speaker 1: get some stuff going, especially with how we're seeing that
- 2:12Speaker 1: it's working, you know what I mean.
- 2:14Speaker 3: So That's one thing I wanted to touch on because
- 2:17Speaker 3: you know, I see a lot of comments about you know,
- 2:20Speaker 3: too many people have podcasts. Not everybody needs a mic,
- 2:23Speaker 3: and it's like, we're not here to be popular. We
- 2:27Speaker 3: appreciate the engagement, but we're here our real conversations. We're
- 2:30Speaker 3: not here to do the neat stuff to get into
- 2:34Speaker 3: algorithms and like be part of like do stuff that's
- 2:38Speaker 3: out of our element just to be popular and get engagement.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Like we're just us and we're getting that engagement off
- 2:44Speaker 3: of just being us and what we do. It's like,
- 2:47Speaker 3: I don't we don't need to be super funny and talk,
- 2:50Speaker 3: you know, touch on pop culture all the time. We
- 2:52Speaker 3: just need to talk and people like enjoy our conversations.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Those are the people we're trying to engage with.
- 2:56Speaker 1: And that's the facts. And even that conversation right now
- 3:00Speaker 1: is like, bro're we're two years plus in one hundred
- 3:03Speaker 1: plus episodes, and we've been building momentum since we started,
- 3:07Speaker 1: and it's been growing. It hasn't been going backwards. Like
- 3:10Speaker 1: I said, we're getting to the point we have like
- 3:13Speaker 1: consistent people that are tapped in you know, comments and
- 3:16Speaker 1: on what we're posting, you know, on the topics that
- 3:18Speaker 1: we're talking about. I definitely one thing that I would
- 3:21Speaker 1: like is more interaction from the point of view of
- 3:23Speaker 1: people telling us stuff to talk about, you know what
- 3:25Speaker 1: I mean. Usually when I see people in person, they
- 3:27Speaker 1: do be mentioning like little things here and there, but
- 3:29Speaker 1: it'd be better if like they emailed it to our
- 3:31Speaker 1: email Everything Grounded at gmail dot com. Man, if you're
- 3:35Speaker 1: listening to this Everything Grounded at gmail dot com, if
- 3:39Speaker 1: you got an idea topic, just something that we should
- 3:41Speaker 1: talk about, definitely throw it to us. I want to
- 3:44Speaker 1: engage in like the topics that people want to talk about,
- 3:47Speaker 1: because that's always interesting to me. And another thing, every
- 3:53Speaker 1: time I'm mound about bro, people are talking to me
- 3:56Speaker 1: about the podcast, like specific segments that we've done, you know,
- 3:59Speaker 1: episode that we've talked about. So it's like, I know,
- 4:02Speaker 1: at this point we're years in the way people mentioned
- 4:05Speaker 1: to me the podcast. Sometimes it's the first thing that
- 4:07Speaker 1: mentioned to me, not even the music, you know what
- 4:09Speaker 1: I mean. Like, so it's definitely something that's working. And
- 4:13Speaker 1: I've seen them posts to like you said, you know people,
- 4:16Speaker 1: it's like starting a podcast now is like the new
- 4:19Speaker 1: joke like being a rapper used to be, you know
- 4:21Speaker 1: what I mean, Like, oh, if you're a podcast or
- 4:23Speaker 1: like you're that, you're that like guy that was trying
- 4:26Speaker 1: to be a rapper too, you know what I mean.
- 4:28Speaker 3: And that's what I like that point you made, because
- 4:33Speaker 3: it's not it's not always the people who engage with
- 4:35Speaker 3: us regularly, but someone will ask me a question and
- 4:39Speaker 3: they'll answer them like, yeah, I talked about it, Like
- 4:41Speaker 3: I know we heard you talking about on the podcast.
- 4:43Speaker 3: I just wanted to hear you say it in person.
- 4:45Speaker 3: I was like, okay, so you did hear us talk
- 4:47Speaker 3: about it on the podcast.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Yeah, facts, And like I said, man, the way that
- 4:53Speaker 1: we're doing it and the way that we've been on
- 4:55Speaker 1: it is something that I feel like has been resonating
- 4:59Speaker 1: with people. But like this testament of how everybody's talking
- 5:03Speaker 1: to us, like we just said, man, like just to
- 5:05Speaker 1: wrap it up, it's working. And for the people out
- 5:10Speaker 1: there that are thinking about doing something like a podcast
- 5:13Speaker 1: or doing something artistic whatever. Dog at the end of
- 5:15Speaker 1: the day, man, if it's adding to your life and
- 5:20Speaker 1: you're you're happy with the progress of it, you're you're
- 5:23Speaker 1: seeing or progressing the direction that you wanted to progress in.
- 5:27Speaker 1: At the end of the day, that's all you got
- 5:29Speaker 1: to worry about. Man, Well, somebody else thinks about you
- 5:31Speaker 1: starting a podcast or you're doing X, Y or Z
- 5:34Speaker 1: like bro, that should be the last thing on anybody's mind, dog,
- 5:38Speaker 1: especially when it comes to people. Man, Like, people just
- 5:41Speaker 1: be saying anything, the same way we be on here
- 5:43Speaker 1: just saying anything.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Dog.
- 5:44Speaker 1: People just be saying anything every day in real life worse.
- 5:47Speaker 1: So yeah, speaking of saying anything, Dog, I don't even
- 5:51Speaker 1: want to get too deep into this because it's just
- 5:55Speaker 1: funny to me because at this point he's kind of
- 5:57Speaker 1: just created the buzz himself and just talk to himself
- 6:02Speaker 1: about this, Like I feel like he just used it
- 6:03Speaker 1: to go on a press run. Really, But I saw
- 6:06Speaker 1: a headline that was funny to me, Man. It said
- 6:08Speaker 1: Jim Jones hits back at na's backlash. So when you
- 6:13Speaker 1: read that, when you read that headline, you would assume
- 6:16Speaker 1: like maybe NAS responding to him. And now Jim Jones
- 6:19Speaker 1: is responding to the NAS response, but he's not in
- 6:23Speaker 1: set of word Brow.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Does have one post, though, he had one post.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Like you know what, I'm like, he hasn't directly like
- 6:31Speaker 1: am out with a statement.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Or like indirectly responding to exactly.
- 6:36Speaker 1: So it's like for Jim Jones to just respond to
- 6:40Speaker 1: people responding to the NAS thing is like, bro, you're
- 6:44Speaker 1: literally just talking into that, into the atmosphere, like to yourself,
- 6:48Speaker 1: dog like it might have worked for what he's trying
- 6:51Speaker 1: to do. And it's funny, man, because I always think
- 6:55Speaker 1: about this when we talk about going viral and stuff
- 6:57Speaker 1: like that. I'll be seeing these posts of people that
- 7:00Speaker 1: it'll be like a selfie video of them, right, and
- 7:03Speaker 1: it'll be some writing on it and like a trending sound,
- 7:06Speaker 1: and they'd be like the video be them saying somebody
- 7:09Speaker 1: told me if I use this trending sound, I'll get
- 7:11Speaker 1: a million plays. And you look, and they got a
- 7:14Speaker 1: million plays on the post. You know what I mean. Yeah,
- 7:17Speaker 1: but okay, but listen, let me let me finish the Yeah.
- 7:22Speaker 1: So you go and you get a million plays on
- 7:25Speaker 1: your posts? Right, what is that gonna do for you?
- 7:28Speaker 1: What is it gonna lead to?
- 7:29Speaker 2: Like?
- 7:30Speaker 1: What does go on viral for viral's sake do for people?
- 7:34Speaker 1: Because if you can't capitalize or really point them anywhere.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Like for Jim Jones, I understand because he's probably thinking
- 7:40Speaker 1: if my name is in the news, my streams are
- 7:42Speaker 1: gonna go up for that time that my name is
- 7:44Speaker 1: in the news, because people just gonna think, oh, Jim Jones,
- 7:47Speaker 1: I haven't heard his stuff in a while, or they're
- 7:49Speaker 1: even just gonna go through his catalog to try to
- 7:51Speaker 1: compare him to the Knaves, you know what I mean,
- 7:53Speaker 1: not knowing they're adding to his paycheck just by playing
- 7:56Speaker 1: them songs, just by googling them, just by all, you know,
- 8:00Speaker 1: going on YouTube and pulling up the song like oh
- 8:02Speaker 1: this is whack. Even you pulling it up to say
- 8:04Speaker 1: this is whack. He's still making money. So I understand
- 8:06Speaker 1: it from that point of view. But it's like people
- 8:09Speaker 1: that are just trying to like do anything just to
- 8:12Speaker 1: get that million view video. It's like, bro, you got
- 8:16Speaker 1: to have a plan with this, yeah, and that's.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Our same thing to just tag onto that. It's straight
- 8:23Speaker 3: up like everybody's cloud chasing right one. We talked about
- 8:29Speaker 3: Jim Jones about his age now and like you're still
- 8:31Speaker 3: cloud chasing.
- 8:32Speaker 2: But what is that going to gain you?
- 8:34Speaker 3: Like a million people have a million videos who go
- 8:38Speaker 3: who get a million views?
- 8:39Speaker 2: But what does that gain you?
- 8:41Speaker 3: Once you get that if you're not picking up on
- 8:43Speaker 3: that traction, what are you going to get after that?
- 8:45Speaker 3: You have to have a strategy. It's like, Okay, I
- 8:48Speaker 3: got this approach, I got the traction. Now what am
- 8:50Speaker 3: I gonna do with it? And I feel like his
- 8:52Speaker 3: whole shit, Like nobody cares about what his rollout is.
- 8:56Speaker 3: Everybody's just talking about how he was talking about Nas
- 8:58Speaker 3: and how Nas responding He's fun and that's the main
- 9:01Speaker 3: subject of his cloud.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Yeah, And it's funny because kind of going off that
- 9:07Speaker 1: people are kind of like comparing the jack Boys two
- 9:11Speaker 1: project by Travis Scott and his artists and the Clips
- 9:15Speaker 1: project just because you know, Push the Tea came out
- 9:19Speaker 1: right away when they started their roleout and mentioned Travis
- 9:22Speaker 1: Scott and why he's got to be for him right now.
- 9:25Speaker 1: You know, he feels like Travis Scott pulled up to
- 9:27Speaker 1: him and Pharrell and Malice played some music from his
- 9:31Speaker 1: album then when he left and he dropped the music.
- 9:35Speaker 1: One of the songs was Meltdown, which is a song
- 9:38Speaker 1: with Drake where Drake is taking shots at Pharrell, but
- 9:41Speaker 1: Push Your Tea saying that when he brought it to them,
- 9:43Speaker 1: he a Drake verse on it. And then it's for
- 9:46Speaker 1: you to even come here and play that song and
- 9:49Speaker 1: then turn around and get somebody on it that's this
- 9:51Speaker 1: and the guy that you wanted to show the song to.
- 9:54Speaker 1: It's weird, you know what I'm saying. And I definitely
- 9:56Speaker 1: agree with Push your Tea on that. And the funny
- 9:59Speaker 1: thing about the whole situation is a lot of people
- 10:03Speaker 1: saying that pusha T's just using Travis Scott or whoever's
- 10:06Speaker 1: name to try to like boost their sales or whatever,
- 10:09Speaker 1: and they're predicting that Travis Scott's project is gonna do
- 10:14Speaker 1: better first week sales than the Clips album, which is
- 10:18Speaker 1: not even a Travis Scott project. It's like a compilation
- 10:20Speaker 1: of his label. His artist is the jack Boys two project.
- 10:24Speaker 1: So Travis Scott is definitely gonna feel like he can
- 10:26Speaker 1: puff his chest out, like, oh, these dudes was talking
- 10:28Speaker 1: crazy about me, and look, my Crew album did better
- 10:31Speaker 1: than their album, you know what I'm saying. But at
- 10:34Speaker 1: the same time, it's like the thing that we always
- 10:37Speaker 1: talk about on this pole too, is like how many
- 10:40Speaker 1: people got their hands in that basket and got something
- 10:42Speaker 1: to like with Travis Scott, you got an artist that
- 10:46Speaker 1: Matt people got money behind him. He got mad endorsements,
- 10:49Speaker 1: so when he dropped something, that's gonna be everybody's face,
- 10:54Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And then kind of like
- 10:56Speaker 1: to lead to what you wanted to talk about with
- 10:58Speaker 1: the clips. They're an older rap group, so how are
- 11:04Speaker 1: people going to care about what they're doing? What they've
- 11:06Speaker 1: been doing is just kind of been going on that
- 11:08Speaker 1: tour in a podcast, doing interviews and stuff like that
- 11:12Speaker 1: to just remind people who they are and where they've
- 11:15Speaker 1: been basically, you know what I mean, and then just
- 11:17Speaker 1: kind of like leading into that.
- 11:19Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think, like I said, everybody says podcasts.
- 11:24Speaker 3: Everybody has a podcast, but now artists are doing and
- 11:28Speaker 3: not just artists, you have actors, you have different kind
- 11:32Speaker 3: of celebrities and entertainers and different industries doing podcasts rollouts.
- 11:36Speaker 3: They're going on every popular podcast essentially having the same conversations.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Like I saw clips on Joe and Jada. I saw
- 11:44Speaker 3: clips on Joe Budden, same conversations, but they have different
- 11:49Speaker 3: relationships but also different relationships with the hosts. So clips
- 11:54Speaker 3: and butting go way back, so they could talk about
- 11:56Speaker 3: stories that Joe and Jada can't talk about with them
- 12:00Speaker 3: and I think that gives back the difference. And also
- 12:03Speaker 3: like Budding could get more personal with Malice than anybody
- 12:08Speaker 3: else because he knows Malice from back in the day,
- 12:10Speaker 3: and I think that allows the story to evolve, and
- 12:14Speaker 3: I think that gives more of a background for the
- 12:16Speaker 3: album to hit. But like you said, they're older rappers,
- 12:20Speaker 3: they're from a different generation, but they're tapping into the
- 12:23Speaker 3: new generation buzz to make sure the new generation taps
- 12:29Speaker 3: in to the old generation music. Because they don't sound
- 12:32Speaker 3: any different than they sounded from musical and that's what
- 12:34Speaker 3: people like me appreciate. The clips are sounded like the
- 12:37Speaker 3: clips when they drop, grinding when they drop, you know,
- 12:41Speaker 3: the original tracks, original and it was for Real to
- 12:43Speaker 3: produce it.
- 12:43Speaker 2: It's no more Kanye producing it.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Like I appreciate that it's taking me back and like
- 12:49Speaker 3: I said, I don't want to, you know, get my
- 12:52Speaker 3: age away, But I was tapping that grinder beating high
- 12:55Speaker 3: school on the lunch table, you know what I'm saying.
- 12:56Speaker 2: That's how far back it goes with me.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Man, When you consider podcasts and then these long form interviews,
- 13:05Speaker 1: it's one of those things where it's almost like the
- 13:07Speaker 1: last way that people can really like I guess you
- 13:12Speaker 1: could say keep it real because a podcast usually is
- 13:15Speaker 1: like an hour long and they're just talking. Most podcasts
- 13:18Speaker 1: are unedited as far as the conversation goes, so you're
- 13:21Speaker 1: really just hearing somebody talk. And you know, no matter
- 13:25Speaker 1: how media trained or how like much you try to
- 13:28Speaker 1: put up a front to a certain point, you just talking,
- 13:30Speaker 1: so you're just going to fall into you just talking
- 13:33Speaker 1: and it's just you, you know what I mean. And
- 13:36Speaker 1: I think that's something that people are seeing with the
- 13:38Speaker 1: clips when they're seeing them on this roll out, is
- 13:42Speaker 1: they're just hearing them say some real stuff and they're
- 13:46Speaker 1: like people are getting to understand why they left. They're
- 13:50Speaker 1: understanding how long they've been gone, what has changed in
- 13:53Speaker 1: that meantime. You know, they're kind of getting a backstory
- 13:57Speaker 1: of why Push the Tea's been on, what he's been on,
- 14:00Speaker 1: Males has been on, well he's been on, and how
- 14:01Speaker 1: they kind of reconnected with it. And it's the kind
- 14:04Speaker 1: of thing that even if you don't know about them,
- 14:07Speaker 1: all you need to know is those little story pieces,
- 14:10Speaker 1: like they're the clips. They don't make music no more
- 14:13Speaker 1: and now they came back. Why is it? And this
- 14:16Speaker 1: podcasting and this just doing the press run like this
- 14:19Speaker 1: lets everybody answer all those questions. If I would have
- 14:22Speaker 1: just heard the clips dropping the album, but they're not
- 14:25Speaker 1: going on this run, I'm not going to care as
- 14:28Speaker 1: much as like, oh, like I'm understanding now why it's
- 14:31Speaker 1: a big deal.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Yeah, because you got fans of these podcasters who they're
- 14:36Speaker 3: fans of, who they just are.
- 14:38Speaker 2: And then they have these artists that maybe you haven't
- 14:40Speaker 2: heard of, you.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Heard the name, but you know anything about them, and
- 14:43Speaker 3: you hear the story and like, Okay, I might go
- 14:45Speaker 3: listen to this album tonight.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Yeah, you know.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And the crazy thing about podcasts and streaming and stuff
- 14:50Speaker 1: like that is like they're really changing the game, and
- 14:54Speaker 1: like in a weird way, like not saying it's bad,
- 14:57Speaker 1: but for example, what we're talking about now with the
- 15:01Speaker 1: Clips and Travis Scott, they can create their own narratives
- 15:06Speaker 1: because they both have their own following. They both have
- 15:09Speaker 1: their own crowd that follows them for them. So it's
- 15:12Speaker 1: like you might hear it, let's say, on Complex or
- 15:17Speaker 1: the Breakfast Club or something like that, and those people
- 15:21Speaker 1: and those platforms have their followers, but then the people
- 15:25Speaker 1: they're talking about, those people have their own followers as well,
- 15:28Speaker 1: and they have access to them with streaming, they have
- 15:31Speaker 1: access to them with social media. And basically what I'm
- 15:34Speaker 1: leading to is now you have situations where like that
- 15:39Speaker 1: streamer dude Neon was on the Breakfast Club and he
- 15:43Speaker 1: was streaming while he was on Breakfast Club. So like,
- 15:47Speaker 1: if you were watching it from like the Breakfast Club cameras,
- 15:51Speaker 1: it looks like they're frying him, you know what I'm saying.
- 15:54Speaker 1: It looks like they're kind of grilling him for some
- 15:56Speaker 1: comments he made in the past about Kai Sannat, comments
- 16:00Speaker 1: he's made about black people, things that he said racially
- 16:04Speaker 1: insensitive on his stream, and you see it from their side,
- 16:09Speaker 1: and it's like, oh, they're grilling him, and they're pretty
- 16:11Speaker 1: much since since the Breakfast Club audience isn't really tapped
- 16:14Speaker 1: in the Neon like that, they're introducing him, but they
- 16:17Speaker 1: also have to bring you up to speed on everything.
- 16:19Speaker 1: You know, if you're watching neons feed, it's like, oh, bro,
- 16:24Speaker 1: these dudes are just ambushing him and they're like trying
- 16:27Speaker 1: to like do this to him for cloud. Their whole
- 16:30Speaker 1: chat was counting. Yeah, It's like obviously neon chatter is
- 16:34Speaker 1: on his side, the breakfast club fans are on they side,
- 16:38Speaker 1: you know, but just seeing it, it's like a crazy
- 16:41Speaker 1: dynamic because like you can go do these press runs,
- 16:44Speaker 1: but at the end of the day, like everybody has
- 16:47Speaker 1: direct access to the audience. So it's not like how
- 16:51Speaker 1: it was back in the day where it's like, let's say,
- 16:53Speaker 1: when you're talking about like jay Z and Niles. Back
- 16:55Speaker 1: in the day, you were seeing them on Hot ninety seven,
- 16:59Speaker 1: like and you wasn't even s you was hearing them
- 17:00Speaker 1: because it was just radio, you know what I'm saying.
- 17:03Speaker 1: You would hear them on Hot ninety seven, you would
- 17:05Speaker 1: hear them on the Power of radio station, and the
- 17:08Speaker 1: only time you really heard from them was like in
- 17:10Speaker 1: those radio station interviews, and it was short. You couldn't
- 17:14Speaker 1: really say everything because you're on the radio, you know
- 17:17Speaker 1: what I'm saying, So like it was really just say,
- 17:21Speaker 1: she say, And you're really relying on the personalities to
- 17:25Speaker 1: kind of shape your opinion because you're not hearing directly
- 17:27Speaker 1: from them. Nowadays, the jay Z and nos thing, they
- 17:31Speaker 1: might just sit down for a podcast separately with two
- 17:34Speaker 1: different people to go over why they beefing, to go
- 17:36Speaker 1: over why they you know, whatever, the case is, it's
- 17:39Speaker 1: a whole different thing, you know what I'm saying.
- 17:41Speaker 3: And they're with hosts who they trust and they can
- 17:43Speaker 3: tell them stories too, when back then they didn't know
- 17:47Speaker 3: these hosts like that and they were uncomfortable talking about
- 17:49Speaker 3: these stories in front of them.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Yeah, they had to do these press runs, and whoever
- 17:53Speaker 1: was at the station is whoever was there. You know,
- 17:56Speaker 1: obviously you knew the main ones, but when you going
- 17:58Speaker 1: to Alabama or something like that, you might not know
- 18:01Speaker 1: who's the host on that station, and it's just somebody
- 18:03Speaker 1: random and they're going to ask you the same questions,
- 18:06Speaker 1: maybe even harder questions, and you just got to answer
- 18:09Speaker 1: it because that's your only way of reaching that audience,
- 18:11Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So it's just like another
- 18:15Speaker 1: crazy layer to like how the Internet changed the game
- 18:18Speaker 1: with the album rollouts and everything. And just then you
- 18:22Speaker 1: have the opposite side with Travis Scott where he just
- 18:24Speaker 1: has a lot of money behind him, so his is
- 18:26Speaker 1: just straight promo, you know what I'm saying, Like his ads,
- 18:30Speaker 1: you know, getting the songs automatically in a commercial or
- 18:37Speaker 1: automatically in a game or something. It's like he has
- 18:40Speaker 1: those avenues for the people that don't go out those avenues.
- 18:43Speaker 1: They thrive off of hitting people direct with the streamers,
- 18:46Speaker 1: the podcasters all that, you know what I'm saying, Yeah,
- 18:49Speaker 1: And like.
- 18:49Speaker 3: That's what I realized about Travis Scott. He tapped in
- 18:52Speaker 3: major to the college you know, demographic. With his college
- 19:00Speaker 3: Traviscott collaborations with the colleges.
- 19:02Speaker 2: He's dropped gear like for.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Colleges, for I have a Travis Scott night shirt and
- 19:08Speaker 3: a Travis Scott gator shirt, you know, and I know
- 19:10Speaker 3: people even bought more. Like he's tapping into as certain
- 19:13Speaker 3: demographic that's allowing him to just be him and.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Not have to do Travis Scott is to a point
- 19:20Speaker 1: where he already knows he's gonna do good numbers wise,
- 19:23Speaker 1: because they're delivering his music to so many platforms that
- 19:27Speaker 1: like you just get you, You're just gonna get those
- 19:30Speaker 1: plays and streams off of like just getting it delivered there.
- 19:34Speaker 3: They know he's going to get the hits, so they're
- 19:36Speaker 3: putting them on it, like we know he's going to
- 19:38Speaker 3: get the.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Hits exactly exactly. So it's like to a certain point,
- 19:42Speaker 1: he don't even got to worry about the rollout like
- 19:44Speaker 1: that from the point of view, like you haven't even
- 19:46Speaker 1: heard Travis Scott talk about that project. Like jack Boy
- 19:49Speaker 1: was an Instagram post literally literally literally, and it's probably
- 19:54Speaker 1: something that doesn't even get too many posts on his
- 19:56Speaker 1: main page because the analytics tells you, nah, bro, talk
- 20:01Speaker 1: about yourself. People don't care about that extra stuff. It's crazy, man,
- 20:05Speaker 1: It's so many weird little dynamics, and then you're trying
- 20:08Speaker 1: to like kind of weave your way through it, like
- 20:11Speaker 1: with a podcast, with streaming whatever it is at the end.
- 20:14Speaker 1: That's why at the end of the day, like we
- 20:15Speaker 1: was talking about, the viral stuff, don't really do nothing
- 20:18Speaker 1: if you're not really locking in and making something happen
- 20:21Speaker 1: when you're connecting with people in a way where they
- 20:22Speaker 1: care about what you're saying. Like the viral thing will
- 20:25Speaker 1: get you that first look and they'll recognize you the
- 20:27Speaker 1: next time. You might pop up on their feet, but
- 20:30Speaker 1: it's not gonna put no money in your pocket.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's why, like some people think, oh, I'll
- 20:34Speaker 3: just go viral off something that'll push It's like, nah,
- 20:36Speaker 3: you can do it without going viral.
- 20:38Speaker 2: You just have to have the right marketing strategy.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Yeah, facts, man, it's been depressing on Sports Center and
- 20:44Speaker 1: stuff lately. Dog the talk on there has been so whacked.
- 20:48Speaker 1: This is like the worst low in the time of
- 20:51Speaker 1: the year. Like no football, no basketball, It's just like
- 20:56Speaker 1: Major League Baseball, and that's pretty much soccer.
- 20:59Speaker 3: A lot of soccer, which we which we know you
- 21:01Speaker 3: don't bang with nobody like all year though.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Oh, soccer is a year round every single year.
- 21:09Speaker 3: There's always some kind of cup or some kind of
- 21:12Speaker 3: competition going on. There's some there's always soccer year round
- 21:16Speaker 3: all the time. That's why they get paid so much.
- 21:19Speaker 3: You never stopped playing.
- 21:19Speaker 1: There's like these little rumblings that there's going to be another.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Wimbledon was fire, Wimbledon was big.
- 21:25Speaker 1: They say that there's going to be another like basketball league,
- 21:28Speaker 1: like a major basketball league from who. I forgot all
- 21:32Speaker 1: the details, but I've been here and here and there
- 21:34Speaker 1: little things, and supposedly like some NBA players are already
- 21:39Speaker 1: kind of expressed some interest in possibly going over there.
- 21:43Speaker 1: I don't know if it's like a riad thing or what,
- 21:45Speaker 1: but I know that there is there is some buzz
- 21:50Speaker 1: out there about like an alternative basketball league season.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Or leaving the NBA scene. I don't know, Man, the
- 22:00Speaker 2: hefty for.
- 22:01Speaker 1: That, and they're and they're also like kind of estimating
- 22:04Speaker 1: that it might be more like European basketball style or
- 22:08Speaker 1: based like honestly difference. Uh, European basketball is more akin
- 22:13Speaker 1: to like what the nineties basketball was, like, you know
- 22:16Speaker 1: what I mean, it's a little more the pacers. The
- 22:19Speaker 1: pace is different in Europe. They're a lot more physical.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Than the three pointers from the half court line.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's not happening. I mean people shooting over there.
- 22:28Speaker 1: But it's not like that over there. I mean, you
- 22:30Speaker 1: watch the rules are vastly different in Europe, just as
- 22:34Speaker 1: far as like how the flow of the game is,
- 22:37Speaker 1: you know what I mean, that's why that and that's what.
- 22:40Speaker 1: That's something that a lot of players from other countries
- 22:43Speaker 1: always mentioned too, like it's kind of like sour grapes.
- 22:48Speaker 1: But at the same time, it's like the United States
- 22:51Speaker 1: has to send their best players now, you know what
- 22:53Speaker 1: I mean. The reason why they have to send their
- 22:55Speaker 1: best players is because it's a very skillful game over there,
- 22:58Speaker 1: and they're skillful players all around the world now because
- 23:01Speaker 1: the NBA is global, dog Like back in the day,
- 23:03Speaker 1: the NBA wasn't global, only only US in America is
- 23:05Speaker 1: playing basketball on the weekends and stuff. Now they playing
- 23:08Speaker 1: basketball all over the world, you know what I'm saying.
- 23:11Speaker 1: So there's more talent around the world than the world
- 23:14Speaker 1: is bigger than the United States. So you're gonna have
- 23:17Speaker 1: really talented players that are not US based. And even
- 23:22Speaker 1: a lot of the times the players that we have
- 23:24Speaker 1: on the US team are not even US based players.
- 23:27Speaker 1: They're just players that live in the US that play
- 23:30Speaker 1: for the US. You know what I'm saying.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Yeah, europeeing europeeing players are taking over. Like the All
- 23:37Speaker 3: Stars in the in the NBA.
- 23:40Speaker 1: That's I think they said, like the last nine m
- 23:42Speaker 1: vps or something like that have been none of them
- 23:45Speaker 1: have been American. He's a Canadian yep, yep. He kept
- 23:52Speaker 1: the street going man, and a lot of people equated
- 23:54Speaker 1: to the lifestyle over here.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Bro.
- 23:56Speaker 1: People don't got the same kind of work ethic over
- 23:58Speaker 1: here that they do overseas. And it even even reflects
- 24:01Speaker 1: in the NBA, you know what I'm saying, Like them
- 24:03Speaker 1: players come from Europe, Africa, Asia, wherever they are, Australia
- 24:08Speaker 1: wherever they're coming from, and they're working way harder than
- 24:11Speaker 1: us because they're just more used to it, you know
- 24:13Speaker 1: what I mean.
- 24:13Speaker 3: Yeah, they come up in a different kind of farming
- 24:16Speaker 3: system than the NBA.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Yep, you really gotta you really gotta get it over there.
- 24:21Speaker 1: It's the same thing in the UFC.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Bro.
- 24:23Speaker 1: A lot of these like these daggastan guys in the UFC.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Smesh you brother, them boys just not playing around and
- 24:31Speaker 1: they be out there in the freezing cold training all
- 24:34Speaker 1: years from little kids.
- 24:36Speaker 2: Does that come out in those fur hats?
- 24:38Speaker 1: What's that thing? This dude? Uh? Normarga medal was No,
- 24:43Speaker 1: it wasn't the Maga medal. I think it was the
- 24:45Speaker 1: other dude, Kamza. He told u DC like you send
- 24:49Speaker 1: your kid two three years Dakistan and forget forget for
- 24:56Speaker 1: two years in for ghetto or you is sae boy.
- 24:58Speaker 2: They running the UFC right now for sure.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Yeah. Bro, it's like like these in there. Yeah, a
- 25:06Speaker 1: lot of a lot of consonants right next to each other. Bro.
- 25:14Speaker 1: This always reminds me like the fighting stuff. It always
- 25:16Speaker 1: reminds me of like blood Sport and them old nineties
- 25:18Speaker 1: movies and stuff like that. And it's really getting to that.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I mean, it was like that before, but it's glaringly
- 25:24Speaker 1: obvious now how much more pussy we are than the
- 25:27Speaker 1: rest of the US. I mean the rest of the
- 25:29Speaker 1: world though, because even in like the movies, the US
- 25:32Speaker 1: guy was always the underdog because he was like always
- 25:35Speaker 1: supposed to be the softest one.
- 25:36Speaker 3: You know, game game has changed in I think every
- 25:41Speaker 3: sport now. Man, it's just it's the US ain't matching
- 25:46Speaker 3: up to the international players as much as they used
- 25:48Speaker 3: to dominate.
- 25:51Speaker 2: As a country. It's not like that. No more US
- 25:54Speaker 2: is trying to keep up.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it seems like a lot of sports there's kind
- 25:59Speaker 1: of like a growing effort to figure out why that's
- 26:03Speaker 1: going on, to make the US players stack up to
- 26:06Speaker 1: the international players.
- 26:08Speaker 3: The NFL, we can see the NFL US stills run
- 26:11Speaker 3: the NFL.
- 26:12Speaker 1: I mean that's because for whatever reason, the NFL is
- 26:15Speaker 1: so American, you know what I'm saying, It's American football.
- 26:18Speaker 1: So yeah, there's not even a lot of like overseas
- 26:21Speaker 1: players that come.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Up, like they all have rugby shit.
- 26:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean there's some like CFL players here and there,
- 26:28Speaker 1: but even those guys usually aren't even that good to
- 26:30Speaker 1: play in the NFL. The NFL is that the NFL
- 26:33Speaker 1: right now is like how the NBA was before, like
- 26:36Speaker 1: nobody was playing Nobody is playing football in their countries
- 26:39Speaker 1: right now, Like on the weekends. There's no little you know,
- 26:42Speaker 1: there's no sixth grade football team you know in Africa,
- 26:46Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. They they're not playing that
- 26:49Speaker 1: sport like that right now. And honestly, it's kind of hard,
- 26:53Speaker 1: like to create that infrastructure to play football because it's
- 26:57Speaker 1: like so specific, you know what i mean, like having
- 26:59Speaker 1: them make football fields and all these places, and it's
- 27:03Speaker 1: just it doesn't sound like something that's easy to do.
- 27:06Speaker 1: It's like it's like how they talk about with baseball,
- 27:09Speaker 1: Like that's why, like, bro, kids usually don't play baseball
- 27:13Speaker 1: because it's like baseball is expensive. Bro, It's a lot
- 27:16Speaker 1: of equipment, it's a lot of traveling. Your parents got
- 27:19Speaker 1: to have free time and money for you to play
- 27:21Speaker 1: competitive baseball.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Dog.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Yeah, and a lot of people don't got that basketball.
- 27:25Speaker 1: It's like you put them on the heights, you know,
- 27:27Speaker 1: the basketball team at the school, and it'll all kind
- 27:29Speaker 1: of sort itself out, you know what i mean. Like
- 27:31Speaker 1: with the same thing with soccer, Like soccer is just
- 27:34Speaker 1: a ball in a field, you know what I'm saying,
- 27:35Speaker 1: Like you can play soccer on the weekends, real easy.
- 27:39Speaker 3: You know what, They're adding flag football to the twenty
- 27:43Speaker 3: twenty eight Summer Olympics and that's country versus country flag football.
- 27:49Speaker 3: And I got a Homi shout out to my homie Mr.
- 27:52Speaker 3: He plays for the Brazilian national flag football team, so
- 27:55Speaker 3: he's been doing that for a while now, and I'm
- 27:59Speaker 3: gonna put some ex He played in Hernandez Stunt Double
- 28:03Speaker 3: in the Air Hernandez Special on Netflix too, so he's
- 28:06Speaker 3: been in football major.
- 28:07Speaker 2: He's Brazilian, pure Brazilian.
- 28:10Speaker 3: And now he's gonna compete against like Tyreek Hill and
- 28:14Speaker 3: all because there's a bunch of NFL players playing on
- 28:17Speaker 3: the flag football team in those Olympics, and it's like,
- 28:19Speaker 3: I think that is going to open up football internationally.
- 28:23Speaker 2: And then that's the reason they're doing it.
- 28:24Speaker 1: The professional flag football players are mad because they're not
- 28:27Speaker 1: getting those spots.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Yeah they're not.
- 28:29Speaker 1: It's like, man, I feel them, But bro, nah, Dog,
- 28:35Speaker 1: you're only a professional flag football player play in the NFL.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Let's just keep it real.
- 28:40Speaker 2: Bro, I'm a professional when I played flag football.
- 28:44Speaker 1: I'm compailed hooper dog, So like I could say this
- 28:49Speaker 1: without bias, Dog, I know. I know that if there
- 28:52Speaker 1: was like a like a flag football type thing for
- 28:55Speaker 1: basketball that I could play, I would be I would
- 28:57Speaker 1: have been trying to do that because I couldn't make
- 28:59Speaker 1: the NBA dog like professional flag football, as dope as
- 29:02Speaker 1: it may be. Dog, you are not Tyreek Hill. You
- 29:06Speaker 1: are not Patrick Mahomes. You can't compete at that level.
- 29:10Speaker 1: And then they I heard like one of like the
- 29:12Speaker 1: quarterbacks from them that are like supposed to be really good.
- 29:15Speaker 1: He's like, it's a completely different skill. It's a different
- 29:18Speaker 1: game this is and that I get it, Bro, But
- 29:21Speaker 1: these people are going to figure it out way faster
- 29:24Speaker 1: than you and are going to be better than you
- 29:26Speaker 1: in a record amount of time. Like you're going to
- 29:28Speaker 1: explain the flag football mechanics to them one time and
- 29:31Speaker 1: they're going to be better than you at it. So
- 29:33Speaker 1: it's like, Dog, you just got to accept that Tyreek
- 29:36Speaker 1: Hill is going to be the receiver.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Now, imagine lighting up on the line against Tyreek Hill.
- 29:41Speaker 2: You got to be ready for that.
- 29:42Speaker 3: You can't be no playing the park on Thanksgiving flag football.
- 29:46Speaker 1: You losing that match up at the line, Bro, You
- 29:48Speaker 1: losing that at the line. As soon as y'all line up,
- 29:50Speaker 1: and as soon as the quarterback says, hut, you lost, Bro,
- 29:54Speaker 1: like you you losing media is out, you losing the lineup,
- 29:57Speaker 1: You losing the intimidation, You losing everything immediately, Bro, real
- 30:02Speaker 1: he's cooking. But yeah, man, like I said, we're working
- 30:09Speaker 1: on some new stuff with the pod, getting a nice
- 30:13Speaker 1: little It's funny, man, because I was messed up for
- 30:17Speaker 1: mad long and like in the process of like the
- 30:20Speaker 1: Salon stuff and just a whole bunch of stuff I
- 30:22Speaker 1: had going on. And then as soon as I've seen
- 30:24Speaker 1: the green you know, the green grass and the clear Skies,
- 30:29Speaker 1: my dog Joe got hit with a crazy project and
- 30:32Speaker 1: he's been going insane and it's like, man, Bro, as
- 30:35Speaker 1: soon as we can line this up, it's gonna be epic.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Bro.
- 30:38Speaker 3: But it's been NonStop for me since the beginning of April,
- 30:41Speaker 3: and it's going to keep going for another probably four weeks,
- 30:45Speaker 3: but we're gonna get through it. I prepare for this,
- 30:48Speaker 3: I expected this, I knew this part of this year.
- 30:51Speaker 3: But I'm not stopping this podcast. I'm not stopping giving
- 30:54Speaker 3: it every attempt I have and keep building it. But
- 30:57Speaker 3: as soon as this is over, we're taking We're taking
- 31:00Speaker 3: this to the next level.
- 31:01Speaker 1: Now facts, and then we're gonna see y'all in person
- 31:05Speaker 1: soon them people in Central Florida. So y'all could hear
- 31:08Speaker 1: us say stay butter?
- 31:10Speaker 2: No, no, you.
- 31:12Speaker 1: You're not ready. You're not ready. No what you got
- 31:15Speaker 1: for me? Oh? Man? I did forget about it? That's crazy,
- 31:21Speaker 1: you know what's funny. I look through the list and
- 31:23Speaker 1: I'm like, oh, we had everything. We didn't write it
- 31:25Speaker 1: in the No, y'all check this out. My dog Quincy
- 31:32Speaker 1: came into town. He was in town for a couple
- 31:34Speaker 1: of things, and he stayed at Joe's crib. So I'm
- 31:38Speaker 1: talking to Joe, like trying to plan out, like what
- 31:40Speaker 1: we're doing for the pot and everything, just talking and
- 31:43Speaker 1: Joe's like, Yo, Saturday, quinc you're gonna be here for
- 31:46Speaker 1: the fight, like and we're just gonna chill. And as
- 31:49Speaker 1: I'm writing him like what's up? You know what I mean? Like,
- 31:51Speaker 1: Joe writes me like before I even finish the message,
- 31:53Speaker 1: He's like, yo, if you want to pull up, let
- 31:55Speaker 1: me know. I was like, bro, I was literally writing
- 31:56Speaker 1: you what's up? So bro, all lined up perfect. I
- 32:00Speaker 1: was able to drop the kids off at the end
- 32:04Speaker 1: laws actually they picked them up from the crib, so
- 32:06Speaker 1: it was even easier. They picked them up from the crib.
- 32:10Speaker 1: We stayed at my sister in law's house because she
- 32:13Speaker 1: lives five minutes from Joe and we're like an hour
- 32:16Speaker 1: from Joe, so it's like, all right, we could stay
- 32:18Speaker 1: at my sister in last trip, she got the extra
- 32:20Speaker 1: room so we could just go crazy and have a
- 32:23Speaker 1: dope night and not even have to worry about nothing.
- 32:25Speaker 2: Dog.
- 32:26Speaker 1: So I pull up over there, I'm on the way,
- 32:29Speaker 1: and Joe face signs me, which I already knew. I'm like,
- 32:33Speaker 1: I looked at it. I'm like, yof, He's face timed me,
- 32:35Speaker 1: he's wasted already. I'm like, he's he's already, He's already
- 32:42Speaker 1: in there. Then I answered the FaceTime and just as
- 32:46Speaker 1: I suspected where you at, where you act, I was like,
- 32:49Speaker 1: I'm on the way, be there, so bro. As soon
- 32:53Speaker 1: as I walked in my man Joe's house, he gave
- 32:55Speaker 1: me the mic and we just started doing that for
- 32:58Speaker 1: like four hours straight.
- 33:00Speaker 2: The rip.
- 33:00Speaker 3: I had the tables set up, I had the tracks
- 33:03Speaker 3: lined up, I had two wireless mikes, Quincy had one.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Let's say, when I threw another track with Jojo and
- 33:09Speaker 2: I said, it's your time to shine. Just get it yo.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Man. We had a dope past night. We was just man,
- 33:18Speaker 1: it was like pretty much just karaoke wings, a little
- 33:22Speaker 1: bit of beer pong, karaoke wings, more beer pong. It
- 33:26Speaker 1: was dope, man. We was there for a while.
- 33:28Speaker 2: Man.
- 33:29Speaker 1: After after we left, we were I don't know how
- 33:32Speaker 1: after you know, all them wings. It was just it
- 33:33Speaker 1: was because we was gone to Bro. We went to
- 33:36Speaker 1: Taco Bell had the canteena.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Talking so I love that for y'all.
- 33:40Speaker 1: And then we went to my sister in laws Bro
- 33:42Speaker 1: and just knocked out immediately. Bro. It was an epic
- 33:45Speaker 1: night man.
- 33:46Speaker 3: You know, you know what I feel about karaoke though,
- 33:48Speaker 3: I feel like the best times when you're in the
- 33:51Speaker 3: club is you're playing your tracks and you're singing along
- 33:55Speaker 3: with them. So imagine you get to choose a song
- 33:58Speaker 3: and you get to sing along, you know all the words.
- 34:00Speaker 3: I feel like that just brings the energy, like it's
- 34:04Speaker 3: a different kind of energy. And like I said, as
- 34:05Speaker 3: soon as I got that system, that wireless mike system,
- 34:09Speaker 3: I brought in that to like six parties this year,
- 34:12Speaker 3: and that's how the night ends.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Every time.
- 34:14Speaker 3: It's just a different energy being able to like just
- 34:16Speaker 3: sing your favorite So I did it.
- 34:17Speaker 2: We did it on my birthday.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Like it's just different high key. That might need to
- 34:23Speaker 1: be the first event a karaoke night, and.
- 34:25Speaker 3: That's what I want to touch on. We and only that,
- 34:27Speaker 3: Like we, that's the kind of mess you want to
- 34:31Speaker 3: set up. I bring, I bring my whole set. We
- 34:33Speaker 3: could do a couple of performances, performance the songs and
- 34:36Speaker 3: then just let everybody tap in and just run that
- 34:38Speaker 3: karaoke don't night.
- 34:40Speaker 1: Yeah, man, no, we were gonna get it for sure.
- 34:42Speaker 1: We're gonna get it for sure. I'm ready. I'm ready
- 34:44Speaker 1: for another karaoke night. I'm ready for the event. I'm ready.
- 34:47Speaker 2: He could even do the me Me Me Me, Me Me.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Me bro I cracked the drink open and he was
- 34:53Speaker 1: like here, oh my god, this is your party. Yeah
- 35:00Speaker 1: that was fun. Man, that was a good night.
- 35:02Speaker 2: It was a good night.
- 35:02Speaker 1: Shout out to Quincy my dog, Joe. It's about driving.
- 35:07Speaker 1: It's about power for real. Dog, it is yo. You
- 35:10Speaker 1: you turn into Dwayne once you finish that bottle. Dog,
- 35:14Speaker 1: that's it.
- 35:15Speaker 3: That's why we ain't give you no brand shoutouts without
- 35:18Speaker 3: no money. But y'all know what we're talking about. It's
- 35:21Speaker 3: about driving, it's about power. I'm the rock when it
- 35:23Speaker 3: comes to that.
- 35:26Speaker 1: But yeah, that was funny, man. That was funny. That
- 35:30Speaker 1: was That was a dope night.
- 35:31Speaker 2: Man.
- 35:32Speaker 1: I've never done like a karaoke night, you know what
- 35:34Speaker 1: I mean. I've only done karaoke at like like a
- 35:36Speaker 1: cruise bar, you know what i mean. So it was
- 35:39Speaker 1: definitely a different experience. But it was fun man, Yes,
