- 0:01Welcome to day nine of the 30 -day maintenance
- 0:06to maintain your badass. So today's homework
- 0:11You are to write one negotiation script for salary
- 0:18rate or boundary Write it and say it out loud.
- 0:23I'm going to give you some examples. So if you
- 0:27are A job and you have received the initial job.
- 0:35Oh, do not accept the salaries by the way Set
- 0:43the job offer but negotiate the salary. So this
- 0:47is your one and only time to negotiate salary
- 0:53before you are hired on board. Say I accept the
- 1:09job offer, but I would like to negotiate my salary
- 1:14before the offer is final. Thank the employer
- 1:30and highlight your skills politely ask if they're
- 1:40flexibility with just the base salary to a target
- 1:46amount based on your experience. If you are already
- 2:02working for a company and it's time for your
- 2:06raise, use this script when sitting down at your
- 2:13performance review for annual. I've been working
- 2:26here for a while and all my reviews were above
- 2:32average. Is there a way back and get it raised
- 2:38this year, that's what would mean by script.
- 2:53I know money is off putting the topic when you're
- 2:58working for somebody, but close mouth, don't
- 3:04get fed. And if you don't ask questions, you
- 3:08won't know that. Most hiring managers, like people
- 3:16who are forward thinking and not afraid of questions,
- 3:23they need a person like you in their company.
- 3:35Some questions when you are offered a job is,
- 3:40what are your salary expectations? An example
- 3:49answer might be, my first priority is finding
- 3:54the right fit. However, I am open to negotiating.
- 4:01I am open to negotiation, depending on what your
- 4:06budget is. And this is when you do not accept
- 4:12a job offer. And you want to find out what the
- 4:18budget is. In other cases, accept a job offer
- 4:22if you really want that job. And if the salary
- 4:24is okay with you, accept the job offer, but say,
- 4:29I do not accept the salary. Is there any room
- 4:31for negotiation? And you want to sound genuinely
- 4:46excited and grateful for the opportunity before
- 4:51you get to the point of asking for more. And
- 5:01here, and then, and. is an example of strict
- 5:06to you when they say, you don't have to say it
- 5:13word for word, but say it for yourself. I am
- 5:16very excited about this opportunity, and this
- 5:19is the place that I want to be. I'm really excited
- 5:24about receiving a job offer for this company,
- 5:36but I would like to negotiate my salary for everything
- 5:40that sets itself. Based on my research on comparable
- 5:46companies, my role is in the range of X number
- 5:55I respect the numbers you're on But I like to
- 6:05discuss if there's anything we can do to bring
- 6:07me closer to this number once You're hired on
- 6:16board. They are so confident in you and you Just
- 6:21fucking up for yourself. You didn't go in the
- 6:24corner like a little mouse say yeah, I've got
- 6:26this job offer or job job salary Like most of
- 6:34us do. I've done that. And I could have asked
- 6:37for my money. But I was so scared of not getting
- 6:41the position because there were three other interviewees
- 6:45there the same day I was. And I really needed
- 6:48this job. I was out of work for like every week.
- 6:57If the script were just notated, they're excited
- 7:04after I feel I'm coming on board. And they already
- 7:09have it. Timing before salaries is negotiation.
- 7:18It's time mainly because there are other things
- 7:21missing out if you don't ask And you don't want
- 7:28the employer think you just work it for the money
- 7:48They was focused on money and scripted yesterday
- 8:00No, you know you were to write down income that
- 8:11have And your retirement number remember I said
- 8:21it be within five to seven years to really get
- 8:26an accurate depiction of your retirement. Now
- 8:34things can change like social security can drop
- 8:38or go up. Your annuity supplement can change
- 8:44based on your age that you retired. And some
- 8:55places, if you have leave you haven't taken,
- 9:01okay then. I was lucky I was going to retire
- 9:05this year, 2027, no, next year. 2027 but I was
- 9:12uh given the opportunity to take the bear the
- 9:17voluntary early retirement agreement although
- 9:25I was going to lose a percentage each year that
- 9:29I retired before the age of 59 with the bear
- 9:36I was able to get my full supplemental annuity
- 9:49if I would ever pass that up and say, no, I'm
- 9:52waiting till next year. I would be getting, I
- 9:56would not be getting a supplemental annuity.
- 10:01And without that, I would have to work somewhere
- 10:04else or just stay on board until I'm at the minimum
- 10:09retirement. So you have to consider all those.
- 10:18What I did is post the board. I put a grid on
- 10:32the poster board. I put date. To pay off amount
- 10:40and then I put my credit card my mortgage Mark
- 10:46my car payment everything that was due monthly
- 10:50on that board. I was able to see how much I was
- 10:57unnecessarily on Chains that I wasn't using four
- 11:07or five TVs written Microsoft Adobe You know,
- 11:18all these things that they throw at you and you
- 11:22think you needed at that time. I was able to
- 11:25see what I was wasting money on. When I cancelled
- 11:30those unused subscriptions, I was able to pay
- 11:34off some credit cards sooner than I thought.
- 11:38So get a visual of what you are paying. Write
- 11:42it down and visit it every two weeks. You'd be
- 11:47amazed. how organized. Now for the survey questions.
- 12:03For that bad accent, we'll see if you did. Answer
- 12:08these 88 questions and by the end of the month
- 12:10you will know how you rank on the bad accent.
- 12:18Question 25. Do you initiate the leadership role?
- 12:25Are you voluntoed to take on the leadership role?
- 12:32What kind of music do you listen to most often
- 12:36and why? Why? 27 you have a second music reference
- 12:51Just on this podcast and I will respond as soon
- 13:07as I can remember Getting something done. It's
- 13:17better than perfect Repeat as needed day 10 of
- 13:23the 30 -day challenge You maintaining your badass
- 13:29until then Getting something done is better than
- 14:15perfect. Repeat as needed.
