- Shamus: Hello everybody and welcome to another episode of the Pork Roll Egg and Cheese Podcast. My name is Seamus. And I'm her babe. And as always, you can be anywhere in the world, but you're here with us. And for that, we're not only thankful, we're grateful. Yes. We'd like to welcome everybody into our fiftieth and final audio episode, audio only episode of the Pork Roll Egg and Cheese Podcast. Herbie: soon coming to you live. Shamus: Yeah. It's like I said, we're we're pretty much set, man. We just gotta tweak a couple other things and Whether we're ready or not, it's coming. This is this Herbie: Yeah, well you got your stuff together though, dude. So this is Shamus: is cool, man. I hope you all like it. Herbie: Yeah, it's all trying there, man. And we're having fun regardless, so it's all good. Shamus: absolutely. Before we get into our episode, I just want to give a shout out to all the sponsors that have been with us for the last fifty episodes. And I'm just gonna run through them real quick. I'm not gonna give you like all the, you know, the advertising parts. I'm just gonna name them. Pooper Scoopers, Snipes Mobile Window Tinning and Paintless Dent Removal, Tattoo In Body Art, The Village Handyman, Quickshot Paintball and Airsoft. Big Bob's Wax Carrots. Scizoretti Catering and Meal Prep. And Blue Moose Artworks. Those guys have been with us. Well, some of been with us from the beginning. Big Bobs, obviously we've known him for years. Yeah. Pooper Scoopers is what really kicked this thing off. Yeah. them and Steve, but Steve Steve doesn't have I don't know what his company name, but it's just junk name. Pooper Scoopers was Herbie: Yeah, junk mail Steve. Shamus: like the first official business we had come in here. Yeah. and talk to us. So, you know, we owe those guys a huge thank you. Herbie: I actually remember when they showed up dude, I was like, They're here. They're actually here. Shamus: Now we're just like, Holy shit, man. Now what do we do? Yeah. Herbie: Like, what do we ask him? Then I was like even had like the whole thing at work. I like, Guess what, you guys, we're gonna have these we're gonna interview these these guys that actually have a a dog s pickup company. And they were like, What? I don't know, when I get excited, I just start mumbling. I'm like, she would call me mumbles. Shamus: That's what you know, and I was telling people I started a podcast and they were just like, What's it about? And I was like, We talk to people. We're gonna try and talk to people who, you know, work jobs that nobody really notices or talks about. Yeah. And they're like, Really, give me an example. And I was just like, Well we're gonna talk to these two guys that clean up dog shit for a living. Yeah. They come to your house and scoop up your dog shit. And everybody went, I gotta hear this. Yeah And then like after that episode, a lot of people were intrigued. They're like, What do you got next? And I'm like, I got this guy I've known for years that all he does is print junk bill. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: And if you think about it, everybody throws junk mail away. It's a billion dollar bit. Why are we still printing it in the digital world? And people were just kind of like. So I think that hooked a lot. I know we kind of got away from that this summer because we couldn't get anybody in here. Everybody wanted to be outside, not inside. Yeah. and we're gonna get back to that. Like I said, my buddy's scheduled for October twentieth. He's our first guy. That's cool. he's definitely coming in. And then I sent out a couple other requests today. So we're gonna we're gonna start knocking them out for you guys. I mean and not only do we have to give a shout out to all the companies who came in, but we gotta give a shout out to every guest we've ever had. Yeah. people who came in and just talked, you know. Kim the teacher's aide, Charlene with her story about, you know, recently being widowed and raising her daughter. Tom and Christine came in and talked about Dungeons and Dragons. I mean, Elvin came in and told us all about paintball. Paul. Yeah, Paul came in with his thing. Steve. And and not only and with Paul and Steve, not only did they give us an insight on what they do for living. And, you know, because, you know, Steve does the woodworking. Paul does window tinting and paintless dent removal. and just so everybody knows, it doesn't just do your cars. If you need windows and your house done, stuff like that, it does that too. But those guys gave our listeners insight on our lives like growing up. Like, I mean, we can tell stories, but people are like, Yeah, these guys are full of shit. But when you have somebody like I haven't seen Paul in fifteen years, when he came in, the first ten minutes we sat there, drank beers, we did some catching up and like instantly we'd Yo, you ready? He was like, Yeah, let's let this shit rip. But and we started talking about old high school days and stuff and just you know I Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: remember two days later I was walking around, people were just kinda like, That shit really did happen, didn't it? Yeah. I was like, Yeah, I'm not bullshitting here. I ain't got nothing to l what am I got to get. So it w it was pretty Herbie: Yeah I see yeah. Shamus: cool to have those guys come in and, you know, give everybody a different perspective on our lives and stuff. Herbie: Especially I think something like that with the the th those people that known us for so long. I mean that we just basically touched the the tip of the iceberg with just even just dialogue between the our friends. You know what I mean? absolutely so many stories and stuff to say. It's just you're trying to, you know, compile it down to like an hour long interview. Shamus: I remember having a conversation with I I get him mixed up. It was the one guy from Pooper Scooper said he had a show and he said you try to keep it in between a half hour and forty five minutes because people start to lose interest. and he's probably right. But it's there's just no way we can get these interviews done. Or some of the subject matter we talk about done in an hour. one thing I will say is some people And it's not a lot of people. They're always like, dude, you could probably stand to go like another fifteen minutes with some of the shit you guys talking about 'cause like we cut a lot short. Yeah. but like I said, we could always one thing we'll look at when we go to video is maybe, hey, part two of this interview or Yeah. You know, the second half. Yeah, exactly. So because I got a feeling some of these guys coming in over the next two or three months, we're gonna have to do a part two. Like when they when when the guy who owns the car company and Herbie: yeah, big bob Shamus: that's gonna be a part two episode. Yep. It's like I said, if we bring the village handyman back in, there's so many, so many people had so many questions in their mailbag for that guy. Yes. That I I can't answer him. And I don't want to give out his contact or anything like that. and I don't want to bother him. Of course, from what I've heard, he's listened to that episode himself numerous times. He loves being on the show. so I think we could Herbie: So it was the rest of his own. Shamus: probably have him come in and just do his mail. Herbie: Yeah, the week yeah. Weekly handyman show. Shamus: Okay. Or you know how like Letterman has his top ten. We could just have we could have Len come in and just like the port rolling G's top ten and just have him read it. So looking back, Herb, and you don't have to we'll get into this later. Yeah. if you had to sum up the last fifty episodes, and not in one word or anything, just give me a brief description of what you thought so far of the last fifty episodes. Herbie: I have to honestly I always say the one word, man, pals. 'Cause it's just d it this this pals thing is just derived from people that we've grown up with and our stories that we have together and even the people that we've interviewed is either people that are part of our lives and very few of you know, besides like the pooper scooper the scooper heroes, we've were they're in our lives, you know. We we we love these people. They they're close to us, they're friends, they're you know, we we just have this wide group of Friends and I'm just fortunate to have that. So I guess like the w this like the one word pals for me, 'cause especially with Steve, it just sums it up for me. Shamus: Yeah, if I had to sum it up, I would it it would probably just be it's been I'll tell you what, it's it's been a it's been a a huge learning experience for me, learning how to edit and all that stuff like that. But I would like to like it's an amazing thing. And we kind of touched on this side, maybe not the last episode, but one of the previous, like recent episodes, was like a lot of those guys, like even the pooper scooper guys, Andrew and Barry. we haven't seen since. but every time I see one of their things come across my algorithm, I'll like it and reshare it on our side. I know the Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: reason why we started this was I got the bug when I went up to go see Andy, Jason, and Dana at the exciting and new. So what I try to do is when we started this was every once in a while you hear me go, you know, make sure you give those guys a listen. when Brett came in and like I said, in no way, shape or form are we taking credit for it. I think he already had plans to start a podcast. But like when he came in, and not that he was just like, I just want to see what's going on. Him and Herbie have been friends forever. Yeah. But like when he left, he started his thing. And we try to help them out as much as we can. Not that he needs help. That guy, when he came into our studio and sat down, like his streaming went through the roof. Yeah. So I mean, he's got a lot of followers and stuff like that, just through the tattoo world. So you know, we try to help those guys out, give them a shout out. even with his tattoo shop. And like I said, anybody who's willing to come in and just sit down and talk to us, we'll you know, we'll put your brand out there. We'll do whatever we can to help you out. I mean, I really don't give a shit if we ever make money off of this. Yeah. Or, you know, people are like, we're gonna put your brand out there and we'll see. again, we appreciate that. I mean Yeah. But like I said, we're I'm just here to, you know, talk some people, make new friends. Yeah. And like I said, if we can help somebody out along the way then Herbie: You know, also to learn about stuff too. I mean, it w there's a lot of people. We're I'm grateful that a lot of people want to be on the show and and want to be part of it. But we also have to have a thing where we have things that the listeners from, you know, Arizona to Florida to everybody else, like different topics and other things you want to learn about. You know, something we gotta we gotta kind of keep it like interesting, new And exciting. Real well yeah, it almost sounds like exciting a new podcast would But it's just you basically you you wanna have a show that makes people wanna when they see it, they wanna click onto it and actually listen and not just listen to it for like a few minutes. You wanna listen to the whole thing. Shamus: Yeah. we're gonna do some mailbag questions here in a little bit. But so far and Herbie asked me this before we started this episode, if I had to guesstimate how many, solid emails we've gotten since we started this show, it's probably been around in between like four or five hundred. a lot of it's just been like you guys are good, you know, you guys rock, you know. One guy was like, This show's fucking tits. I mean, we did get a little bit of hate mail, but for the majority, it's just kinda like, you know, keep up the good work, you know, I love what you guys are doing. we have gotten legitimate questions. And like Herbie said, like I'm a big fan of like the Joe Rogan podcast. That guy's amazing. he's old and he's that guy's smart as a whip. he has such a variety of different people like one day he'll have Tito Ortiz in, you know, an MMA fighter and the next thing you know, Eli Musk is there. Yeah. And then some country music sing like his list is ridiculous. now he talks all the people, like the famous people and stuff. We just want to talk to people that, like I said, nobody really not appreciates, but just the unsung Yeah, the unsung heroes of America. Like them Budweiser conversials. yeah. Real men of genius. You know, that kind of shit. Herbie: Drinking all the beers. Shamus: So I started it because I'm a curious guy and I just need to know what was going on with certain things. So like Kirby said, we try to keep a good variety of people coming in. we also want to talk about stuff that you guys want to hear about. Nothing negative, no religion, no politics. you can get enough of that on your algorithm and on T V, all that negative bullshit. So and so far I think we've been doing a pretty good job. Yeah. So Herbie: We enjoy making them and we hope you enjoy listening to Shamus: Yeah. And like I said, team porkroll two five at gmail.com. We are open to taking any suggestions. you guys want us to talk to. If you know somebody with a job, owns their own small business or anything like that. Well, you know, if we can arrange it, we'll get them in here. anybody with like unique hobbies or you know, passions about stuff, just let us know and we'll try to we'll try to work through it and try to get them in here. Herbie: Give us good, interesting people. Shamus: one of the things before we get to the mailbag, we're gonna hit on that in a second, is somebody from PSC I forgot to mention this. Somebody from PSC and G listens to the show and they pretty much sent us a thank you for mentioning during our rant slash nor'eastern episode. I think that was the last one we just did. he said, a lot of people don't actually say hey Thank you for all the people out there taking care of us during a storm, you know, first responders, PSE and G, you know, your township guys and all that stuff. we'll always do that because I used to be a first responder, law enforcement. I used to be a volunteer fireman. military service guys, I was in the military. Like I've run the whole game out of public service pretty much. So yeah, we always show love and appreciation for all them people. And, you know, now that the storm has passed us and all that's out, we're hoping that all the people down to Jersey Shore. Yeah. Made it through with as little damage as possible. I know that's probably not the case for some of y'all. they said, you know, there was no wind damage like Sandy, but there was a lot of flooding down there. Herbie: That's that's that's a lot of damage for structures and stuff like that. And I saw a couple of videos of people wearing, you know, wearing bikinis and then like floating tubes just flo flying down the the streets and stuff. But the only thing I which is cool for like a video and all that, but I'm more cautious of you know whatever the hell's in that goddamn ocean. And Shamus: Is up on your street. Herbie: it's just it's just like Jersey. You know, there was a video of like a I think a sand shark just like swimming around and like down the street and no one really No one batted an eye out of it, they just took a video of it. You that's typical South Jersey type of stuff. Shamus: Well that's why when you see those people tubing, what I always look at is the background, like all the storefronts that have like a foot of water in them and I'm like, hey. Yeah. Herbie: Yeah, there goes all that stuff. Shamus: So hopefully everybody got by with as minimal damage as possible. Not Herbie: Especially for the business. Shamus: only in Jersey, but I know New York was affected by a boss in Massachusetts and all that stuff like that. Herbie: Everybody really, 'cause like you mentioned, like, you the PSC and G and the f and the first responders. I mean, that's a dangerous job too, 'cause like you guys got like power lines and all that. So that's not just like, hey, you know, what's taking so goddamn long. If you're gonna get electrocuted, you might want to take your time and get the shit done correctly. So one, you don't fry, and two, you can microwave your freaking dino nuggies or in the air fryer, preferably air fry dino nuggies. Shamus: So big shout out to all those first responders all around the nation. Yeah, definitely. Anytime there's some kind of natural disaster, whether it's a hurricane, earthquake, tornado, American Red Cross, like even the guys in the tide truck. Yeah. That roll up with the washing machines and all that stuff like that. You know, we we we salute you guys on pork roll egg and cheese are always behind those who take care of us. Herbie: Definitely, Shamus: all right, I guess we'll get to some of this mailbag stuff. All right. Herbie: And thank you, listeners. I pre we we really do appreciate you guys just writing in. This is this is actually very exciting for me to be able to Shamus: It's pretty funny. Some of the shit they write, and I'm gonna tell everybody this right now. a lot of it's not it's like I said, we do get some hate mail, which is pretty funny. and I'm not gonna mention anything. I do respond to them personally. So there might be during one of these episodes it might be Herbie: She Shamus: Here you got the mic, I gotta go handle this shit real quick. Herbie: But I'm a smart ass too. I'm like, Shamus: Somebody's about to get murdered. So but it's all good fun. even if you do send us hate mail, that means you're listening and we appreciate the feedback. Herbie: Yeah, keep on listening. Shamus: So Here's a trivia question for you, Herb. Okay. Give me the date that we recorded our first episode. Herbie: sweet Jesus. See? This is why I don't have a girlfriend because I'm not good with dates. It's I'm just I'm the worst. Shamus: I was shocked when I saw this. 'cause it seems like we've been doing this for ever. Herbie: You think so, man? It's like I almost seems like when you say fifty episodes, bro, I'm like, that seems like three weeks ago. Shamus: March twenty third was our first episode. March Yep. One of our me email our mailback people was just like trivia question for you, Hotshot. When was your first episode? And I was like Herbie: That is a good question. Yeah, me ne Shamus: And I didn't know, I had to go look. Neither. I knew it was in March because I knew when we sat down to talk about it, it was around St. Patrick's Day. Yeah. When we wrote it out on the Herbie: gee, drinking and s are having some great ideas. Shamus: No way, how why? So I knew it was around I it was Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: beginning of March because it took me a while to get the equipment and stuff. So yeah, our first episode was March twenty third. All right. Number one. work? Do have to be a guest with a small business to get a shout out? If not, how does one become a sponsor? Well, Mark from Edford. if you do come on our show and you have a small business, what we'll do is after you leave, we'll mention you in the beginning of the show, you know, this show was sponsored by such and such, blah, blah, blah. just to help you out and 'cause you helped us out for coming in. and as long as you know, we're around, we'll keep you in the mix. We kind of do a heavy rotation. Yeah. guys like the Village Handyman, Pooper Scoopers, they were like some of the original guests, and we still managed to get them a shout out every once in a while. So if you hit me back off and you want to come in, if you have a business in Medford or wherever your business is, and you want to come in and talk about it, let me know, man. We'll get you get you on the sew and we'll give you a shout-out and all that stuff. So and keep listening, please. Herbie: Yes, we're not getting any money for this, so it's not like you're saying, you Shamus: Well that's what he was just kinda like, how much do I have to pay to get a sponsorship? And we don't charge anybody for that. Herbie: Just two dudes from South Jersey, man. We're not even like a big company. We're just doing this. You know, if it helps out other people and it like but you know, don't don't don't be like a crap company and then be like, give us a shout out and be like, maybe other people don't want to listen to us anymore. Shamus: All right, number two. This person wrote, This is from episode forty-one, Pumpkin Spice and Butt Crack. We do have some pretty interesting titles, man. I I will say that. Herbie: All things of Seamus good. Everybody the Seamus is like the mastermind behind this. I'm just like the dude sitting next to a man. That's it. Shamus: Somebody somebody simply wrote that in a mail. They were just like, bro, the titles of your show are the fucking shit. Herbie: Like every time he pops, like when it's posted, I just I text Seamus back, like, bro, chef's kiss, bro. These are just it's just great. Shamus: Alright, so episode forty-one apparently was pumpkin spice and butt crack. I'm totally with you, fellows. I hate that the retail stores in this country rush back to school stuff out in July, Halloween stuff out in August, and Christmas stuff out at the end of September. I really can't get behind Seamus' love of candy corn and candy pumpkins. Right. But I'm a firm believer that pumpkin spice or pumpkin flavored anything is gross and truly the work of the devil. Herbie: It is. The power of Christ compels you. Shamus: Love that you guys say, talk about what we're all thinking. I gotta know if you had to pick one, what is your favorite holiday, fellas? Keep doing what you're doing and keep up the great work. Colin from LBI. Colin. Yeah Herbie: Just Shamus: man. Thanks for the email, Colin. Are you gonna go you wanna go first or Herbie: Yeah, well to touch on what Colin said, Colin, you're absolutely right, bro. I I'm probably you know, you as a being I believe as a father with a family That Shamus: It didn't mention anything. It just Herbie: just makes sense because like as a parent, you know, or anybody else, like you're flying through these holidays. You don't really get a chance. You're it's almost like you're you're constantly getting everything together for the one. And as soon as that's done, you just want to get that over with 'cause you're on to the next one and it and you're right, man. I I think people just need to slow the hell down. Shamus: Well don't think it has anything to do with parenthood. Like when I was shopping this year, I mean we got out like ju we got out late because all the ice and stuff. So I think my last day was June twenty third. Yeah. And like I went shopping for the fourth of July or some shit. Like and there was back to school and I was just I don't have kids and I was just like, dude, we j maybe because I work at a school. Yeah. I was like, dude, we just got done. Yeah. Like why is this shit out already? Herbie: yeah, but if you like I you may see it and be what the what is that shit? But if if those types of products actually apply to your life, then of course it's almost like you're more almost put on the spot to actually start gearing up for that type of thing. Like say if you are a family like the school products are like I gotta get this, I gotta get and like the next thing you it's freaking now. Fourth of July I'm just cracking beers and blowing shit up, man. Shamus: Fourth July weekend, man. Like I saw that shit right before the fourth of July and I was like, What is Herbie: Yeah, Colin, you're right, brother. I'm like absolutely right. I I and I think as far as like my favorite holiday, I I still wanna say crap. Shamus: All cheat. You gotta pick one. Herbie: Jesus. All right. Christmas. And I'm gonna say because we have like it's not just like just growing up as a kid enjoying Christmas and just my you know, knowing that what my parents went through to get like the toys that I wanted as a kid and just like that type of energy. Of just like Christmas time. You know, the like the specials were on TV. You were dreaming about the toys that you wanted. It's just like the music, the atmosphere. I mean, even for us, our friends, when we have the snowman party with Big Bob, you know, we've been doing that thing for snowman. Well, people are like, what the hell's a snowman party? It's a pajama jammy jam party. It's a Christmas party wearing pajama jammy jams and just hanging out with your friends. And I think that's one of the the more fun ones for me. My favorite. My second favorite, I'm gonna say. I'm gonna I know I only gotta pick one, but Halloween's the other. But Christmas is it still has a special place in my heart as far as a family type of environment and like a lot of fond memories. And Halloween for me is more like adult fun because you're not you know, I love horror movies. They're still like, you know, we have the hocus focus party with Meg on and I just love to be able to tailgate, Shamus: Yeah, that's coming up too. Herbie: you know Maybe next time with the Halloween or something we'll tell you about like the the tailgate stuff we used to do in front of my house for the kids and fam parents. Shamus: Yeah. for me it was growing up it was always like even up until and I don't mean to sound morbid or anything like that. my mother was a huge, huge Christmas person. So I mean the day after Thanksgiving, the Christmas shit up on the in-house and da-da-da. And there was always Christmas music. she always bought a real tree 'cause she loved the smell of pine in the house and stuff. But we we didn't put it up until Christmas Eve and then Santa like after we went to bed as kids, Santa came and decorated the tree and put all the shit under. she absolutely loved everything about Christmas. So when you're growing up, it was always a festive household. It was always so And like I said, as I became a teenager and even a young adult, it was I used to love going to the mall. It had to be cold out. You go to the mall. And this is before everybody you see all that bullshit on Black Friday sales where people are fighting over TV and stuff. Like these are the days when like you used to be able to go to the mall walk through you know, and and Christmas shop with like the music playing the whole mall was decorated and stuff and people seemed like they were happy and joyous and, you know, and it led all the way up to Christmas Eve and then Christmas Eve as I got older, you know, my grandfather would come over and then, you know, we'd have a couple of drinks and he would go to like his other his kids' house, my aunt's uncle's. and then Christmas Day, you know, well Christmas morning you wake up open presents and then Christmas dinner, you know, he would come back over and it always ended with like me and him and my father would come out there too. then my dad would usually get all tripped fanned up and go sit and recliner and pass out. But me and my grandfather always sat and my mom would sit there too, but she didn't drink. me and him would sit there and, you know, have a a bourbon or You know, whatever whatever drink, like usually whiskey or old fashioned or something like that. And we'd just sit there and sp split a bottle and you know, just talk about the year and all that. And so that was always my favorite time of year. But since they've both passed, it just and it's my fault because I just look at Christmas like, they're not here anymore. And I need to get over that. I need to find my own thing now. but I would have to say it was it's definitely Christmas. my second favorite holiday is just Thanksgiving. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: because all the men are in the in the living room watching football and the whole house smells like turkey and everybody's stuffing. All the boys are drinking, you know, whatever they're drinking and all the women are in the kitchen, either baking or sitting at the table, gossiping and da da da da. And you know, the littler kids are running around and so But yeah, that I I if I had to sum it all up, like the day before Thanksgiving all the way up to January one is like my favorite. Used to it used to be my favorite time of the year. It still kinda is. But like I said, I miss my grandpa but I miss my mom. And my dad. Even my dad plays a small role, but I miss my mom and my grandpa when it comes to Herbie: That's true. Well, you actually, you know what used to drive me nuts though, because I I I love Thanksgiving too. I could never get down. It was almost like a n necessity. Like the freaking canned jellied cranberries. Shamus: gotta have Herbie: Yeah. That's another one. That's a herbie no no, but it'll have it. It'll just be there as a centerpiece. Shamus: I got two candidates in my shit right now. Herbie: Jellied cranberries, bro. I can't do it. Man, love it. Shamus: To be honest with you, I hate the fresh shit. Like the shit you buy in a jar that looks like jelly. Like Herbie: I I'll drink cranberry bread. Shamus: I need I need the when it falls out of the can and it still has the rings around it. I love it. Give it to me, bro. Herbie: can't do it man. My dad my dad's like that. He's like it's not Thanksgiving until I have at least a slice of that shit. I'm like I'm like Shamus: I get it all the time. Herbie: all you pop. Shamus: Like I said, I got two cans of it in there right now. Herbie: I do have a Christmas story. Well, there's the Shamus: Okay. Herbie: one time I I do love the regular Christmas thing. And we because we did have a regular real Christmas trees. For us when we moved to South Jersey. the other thing I wanted to say was back there, the another thing that I loved about living in New York was my dad would take us to Rockefeller Center and we'd go see the Roquettes. Like every year. Every year. And my dad he li he worked on Park Avenue in one of the high rise buildings. So me and my mom would go up and visit him and we'd walk around and that was just like that huge, bright Christmas type stuff of all the bright colors. Cause if you really look at it now, man, it's just very Dull. You know, it's just either like white Christmas trees. I flock Christmas trees are pretty, but there's like there's no brightness. There's no vibrant colors and everything. Man, it's almost like it it it's it's dull down. Shamus: Yeah, they're taming it so nobody gets offended. Herbie: it sucks. I'm like, fuck that. Bring it back. You know? But getting back to the Christmas tree thing, we one year we had and try to put the Christmas tree in, like, you know, the post. So my dad's not really the best guy with having tools. So he had a saw. He would normally like hit the way his his toolbox for for tools would normally be like spread out in the backyard, like during all season. So it'd be like all rusted and everything. So the one year I'm up there putting up the Christmas tree. And I was trying to find a saw because I had to try to like almost pencil whittle it down to be able to put it into the post. Try to use a saw, and it was like trying to use a butter knife to cut the damn frickin' pine tree. So I was getting all pissed off. And I go in the kitchen and my mom has this huge frickin' meat cleaver. So I decide And that thing was sharp, dude. That'll do it. yeah. So my mom was like, all right, just be careful with this, because I was getting aggravated. I don't like I never want to do a project with shitty tools. It's going to take like six hours that you can do like in 30 minutes. Shamus: Gotcha. Herbie: So I was just like, just give me the goddamn meat clear. And she's like, just be careful. I said, okay. I started doing it. She's like, this, and you know, she's a little Puerto Rican lady. She's like, just be careful. I'm like, all right, mom. So I have the the stump in between my legs and I'm hacking. And sure enough, what do I do, man? like in a goddamn movie. Shing, veers off, smacks into my shin. So I got this meat cleaver sticking out of my out of my shin. And I was like, shit. And this was like during the time, it was like early 2000s, like late 90s, dude. So it's just like I had like these light colored jeans, and I had like a white, white and blue sweater on because it's fucking Christmas time. And I look and I'm like, and I just go. He just heard like that noise and I was like, you know, just pulling it out of my and I just it was just nothing but fucking red down my shit. I was like, so I'm sitting there trying to figure out what the hell I'm gonna do, cause my mom's still in the kitchen like cooking shit, and I'm in the living room with a Shamus: Yeah. Herbie: And I'm just like I'm like I'm trying to get my shit together and I'm like holding out, I'm like, all right, mom, don't freak out. She's what? Sh and she looks and she looks and it's like, my god. So of course You know, she runs me and she's you know, she's a retired nurse, but you know, by this time she was nursing. But she goes puts me in the bathroom, she's like, Lay down, lay down, lay down, we gotta address this. So I'm I'm laying down on the frickin' bathroom floor, and she's like, Pull your pants out. Like, pull my pants. She says, Raise your legs. So this way, like, he was like, you know, it's not Okay, she's probably thinking I already hit like a major leg artery or some shit. So my legs are up in the air, my pants are around my ankles, I'm sitting there in my boxers. I'm like, holy shit, there's blood all over the place. My mom's freaking out. She's starting to pray. And I'm Jesus Christ. I'm like, God, Jesus Christ. Like, all I wanted to do was get this fucking tree up so I could finish decorating it. But yeah, I smacked a meat cleaver in my shin. I still I can still feel the freaking dent in there. I never got stitches or nothing. It was just like we bandaged it up and that was about it. Shamus: I was gonna tell Colin that we're gonna do a Halloween special when we go to video. We're gonna do a Thanksgiving special and then we're gonna do a like a Christmas special. We're also gonna decorate the set. The first episode we do, we're just gonna leave it plain so everybody can see what we're kind of doing. And then the second episode we're gonna decorate it for Halloween in the fall and all that stuff. So yeah. So just stick with us and we'll cover more of that. Herbie: Great question, Colin. Shamus: All right, number three. This one's for you. And it's hysterical. Okay. And pardon my language, but I'm just reading what this dude wrote. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: He said, yo, what the fuck is up with the Dino nuggets, man? Herbie won't shut the fuck up about them and talks like they're made from crack and the tears of Jesus Christ and shit. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: I smoke a lot of weed, yo, and love me some chicken nuggets. Are they really that different than your ordinary chicken nuggets? Or is he selling me some straight bullshit? Erod from Germantown. Herbie: Erod, great question. All right, well the how we f start Shamus: I can't answer this because I've never had a Dino nugget before in my life. But one thing I will say is I need to know to answer this question because you will not. He's absolutely right. Shut the fuck up about Herbie: They're good. I mean that's like you know it's like the whole the Erod, the whole thing started, bro, is like I went to my boy's house. I brought a race car set for his like for his little son and he's got a little daughter. We I bought a box of sangria wine, hanging out with the b you know, the family know the kids and we we set that the it was like a round race car trap thing. And you know, of course the kids were playing and you know, the adults got into it. We're you know, it's sucking down like sangrias and stuff. And then the mom actually dropped in some dino nuggies in the air fryer and slapped it right in the middle of the freaking counter with I think was it Chick fil A dippy sauce? I forget which one it was. The regular Chick-fil-A sauce. And man, they do. Just give it a shot, bro. I also like those Tyson what is it, the Tyson Buffalo Nuggets? they're they they They're not really like super breaded or nothing. And it's just for some reason I just can mess up a whole family bag of Tyson Buffalo wings. Like the family size one. But yeah, bro, give a shot, man. Like I'm telling you, bro, just give a shot. I mean, what the hell has you got to look? Shamus: You mentioned a couple of times that which ones hit different the Ticeratops or Herbie: Yeah, Tyrannosaur and the and the freaking triceratops, bro. It's something of yeah, same thing with the I and the little Debbie cakes, bro. Don't buy all the goddamn little Debbie cakes. Leave some for Herbie. Just fucking get those. And dude, just biting the tops of the tree off. It's just like it just hits different though. It's gotta be the white Christmas tree cakes. The little Debbie's. Alright. With the little green crystals. But yeah, bro, give it give the dino nuggies a chance. Shamus: I'm gonna give him a shot too. Herbie: You man, man sh you know, burn burn burn a bowl before you do the diner nuggies, you know? Get you your favorite Chick-fil-A dippy sauce, air fry them some bitches, and have a good goddamn time and write us back, bro, cause that that was that's Shamus: Yeah, thanks for thanks for listening to me. Herbie: Dude, seriously, man. Matter of fact, get us your let us know your favorite snacks when you're burning off, bro. Let's go. Shamus: All right, this next one. first of all, before I even mention I even asked this question, we got a l a lot of response from Charlene's episode, which was the softball and glow sticks episode. and like I said, there weren't so many I'm just relaying this to everybody. we want to thank you for the support. I'm gonna pass it on to Charlene. there wasn't too many questions involved in it. I know Charlene said she wanted to You know, help anybody who had questions or anything like that. But there was a lot of people who showed nothing but love and support for Charlene. That's awesome. Stuff like, you know, you got this girl, keep doing what you're doing, you know, a lot of way to be a strong woman, way to go on, talk about it, way to get it off your chest, that kind of deal, way to bring it to the forefront. So, we just want to thank everybody for listening to that episode and showing love to a dear friend of ours who I've known for over twenty years. You've probably known her longer than I have. Yeah. So Thank you very much for that. here's one of the things I took out of the mailbag about that episode. and I kind of thought when when I read this, you'll understand what I'm thinking, because I was like, Man, this lady definitely took a jab at us. just listen to the softball and glow sticks episode and I gotta give credit where credit is due. It was really well done. For two lunkheads who obviously don't understand women, and then in parentheses she wrote, and that's the real reason. You're both single by the way. Your interview Herbie: Nice. Shamus: with Charlene was awesome. All the right questions were asked, and she was able to really tell her story in a way that was informative, lighthearted, and really drew me in. Maybe not the glow stick and rave part of it, but everything else was great. With that being said, I was wondering if you plan on having her back on or if she has her own thing. Would be great to hear more from her and if you scheduled more independently strong women on the show. Keep up the good work. McKenna from Hackettstown. I don't know. We'll probably have her back on eventually just because she's a friend. Yeah. and she has a good time. She's a great person. Yeah. She loves doing it. Yeah. And listen, she's been caught by the bug. I did mention that, you know, she did get a lot of responses from the mailbag and stuff. and stay tuned because apparently her and Kim are talking about starting their own show. So I don't know if it's actually come to fruition. it's in the early stages of it. and we will keep you posted. Yeah, it does. And if they do start their own show, you'll hear about it all here like we do with, you know, booze and tattoos and the exciting and new. We will definitely give them girls a shout out and help them out any way we possibly can. Herbie: No, that's right. Well, she's right. I guess that's probably yeah, insightful for us to you know, that's why we're single. Very cool. I accept it. I'm willing to Shamus: That we don't understand women. You're right. I don't have no idea. I don't know Herbie: Yeah, it's like an enigma, man. Shamus: if she just took a shot at me or she shouldn't like read my mind because I have no idea what the hell's I'm forty nine years old and still lost. Herbie: I actually learn how to like mind read and all that crap. Can't do that. Freaking get, you know, s sense of disturbance in the force. Can't do that. Yeah, like sometimes like trying to like figure out women's like me trying to do Sudoku or whatever the hell that that that paper thing is with the math. I'm like, I have no idea. Shamus: one thing we are gonna do, Miss McKenna, is we are going to look for I would say if to us it doesn't matter if you're just a good person. Yes. You're more than welcome to go on. But I am going to start, you know, kind of looking for more women to come on and talk. Like my friends do though. My friend Carly, who owns and she's a sponsor of the show, Scizor Educator and Meal Prep. You know, we're in talks about having her on. I mentioned it before. I have to get back to her. we're gonna have her on. so yeah, there's a couple yeah. Herbie: do. Matter of fact, McKenna, the the fact that we've actually reached out to a lot of women before and actually I have a friend of mine, she's a personal chef before excuse me, she's been for like to the Philadelphia Eagles and she's down to do the show. I think for us, a majority of the girls that when we when we ask them, they're like they're little bit more apprehensive. So it takes a little bit more to get them in here. But once they do, they wind up, they have they wind up having a good time. Well, because they can relax, especially as people that would that we already know already. So I think they're more apprehensive about talking to s strangers, you know what mean? Shamus: That's what it's easier for us to ask girls that we know. I just start working at the new school. The lady I was telling you about, the lady who's leaving teaching to go be a librarian I actually talked to her about it yesterday and she was kinda like and I was like, Look, I totally get it. I just met you in the beginning of September. You have no idea. I I'd be skeptical about coming to somebody's house too. Yeah. I don't think you have anything to worry about, but I'm not gonna sit here and press you know, I don't want to press anybody making them uncomfortable. So it is kind of hard at times to give people to come in here, especially of the female persuasion. Yeah. Because, you know, they don't and I don't blame They don't know what they're walking into and all that stuff like that. I I tell them all the time you can bring a friend, like you bring a guy friend with you and they can sit and watch, or we can even have them on. So yeah, we're we are trying. it's just easier us for us to get some of our friends and some of the friends we have who are female are very strong, independent women too. So we will get back to and we will keep that in mind. Herbie: Yeah, we're not like against anything like that. It's just like we're we we don't even realize it because we just have these type of women in our lives already. So it's not like just it's just people that we love that that are friends of ours, you know. Yeah, we don't. No clue. No clue. Yeah, sometimes we Hey. Yeah. Shamus: And you're right, we have no idea. Don't understand what we gotta argue that. Herbie: She's right. Good job, McKenna. Shamus: Number five. this one's for me. Just listen to bullet holes and wheelie bars and have a question for Seamus. Having a dad that worked on and raced funny cars, motorcycles, drag cars, and whatever else has wheels. What is the fastest you have gone in any vehicle you have ever driven on and off the track? Sean from ACO. let's see. I'm gonna keep this one pretty brief. On the track. My dad had a twenty two foot rail drag car, like one of them little ass ones you sit like you can't see me because we don't have cameras yet. But you sit like this. Yeah. And like all you see is a head pop up. Yeah. I think I ran like a five, five something in a quarter mile, which is ridiculous. It's one of those and you're done. I went so goddamn fast that when I hit the gas I I thought I blinked and I just heard my dad on the radio on the helmet going, Hit the brake, brake, brake, brake, brake 'cause I was the race was already over. Yeah. And I was like, Holy shit. Jesus on the street, I was down at Fort Benning and I've always been into dirt bikes, sports bikes, stuff like that. my squad leader at the time, I'm not gonna mention any names, had just bought at the time the Hyatt Boost had just came out. And it was the fastest production street bike. Yeah. I don't know if it still is. And he was like, Yo, you wanna take it for a rip? And I was like, Bro, what first of all, I like it's there's some an unwritten rule that you're not supposed to drive another man's bike and shit. Yeah. But he was one of those guys, like he's like, I don't give a fuck, man. Take it for a ride, take it for a ride. Herbie: That's cool. Shamus: I was like, Yeah. I said, Yeah, I'll take it around. So he was like, Yo, don't do no and like he was one of those dudes. He was from Chicago. He's you know, though life kinda guy. He like, Yo, don't do no bullshit, bro. We just Herbie: Chris. Shamus: you just put around this neighborhood doing twenty five and you're like, yeah. Yo take that motherfucker up on eighty five and let that motherfucker eat. I was like, all right. Cause 85 used to run right through Fort Benning. Man, I came off that off ramp and I Herbie, when I got the third gear, I looked down. I was doing 155 miles an hour in third gear. The fucking thing had six gears in it. Damn. So I was like, let's just a little bit it was like Tom Cruise in that movie, Top Gun Two, where he was just like just a push. Dude, I got up to like 176 miles an hour. And that whole thing like I could barely hold on because like the wind was pulling and I just like whe and at that speed, if you hit a pebble the wrong way, you're done. Your street pizza. Yeah. So I was just like, can't even hit Herbie: You can't Shamus: the brake at that point because it starts to heat up. So you just kind of let off real slow. So probably about 176 mile an hour on eighty five going out of Fort Benning into Columbus on a I wanna say an early two thousands high boost though. So yeah, Herbie: Nice. Shamus: that's as fast as I've ever been. Next question. This one's definitely for you, bro. There's no name. Nobody said where they came from. They just want to know. And their exact words. Jesus Christ, Turby. How many speed boats do you actually have and fucking need? Herbie: Ha ha ha ha! Shamus: Yes! Herbie: God, no name, Jesus. Shamus: No name and they didn't say where they were coming from. There's no return address. Damn it! Herbie: That ain't something like yo meet up and do like speedboat. Shamus: So I'm thinking it came from the hospital. We can't Herbie: Well yeah, we're not for nothing, man. There already like people at at work and this stuff are already a Shamus: Either that or the motherfucker who's taking orders at Amazon, like, what the f why does this guy keep ordering bones? Herbie: Like just keep sending him the green one. Maybe he'll stop Shamus: Just send him a big ass box. That'll shut up. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: What are they putting a box? I don't know. Put something other than a boat and let it sit there for three weeks. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: Tired of this kid. Then Herbie: Well get the extra batteries. Shamus: they find out you're like fifty and they're like, What? Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: That doesn't like 12 year old. Herbie: Flipping it flipping my shim, like I said I wanted the red one. Shamus: All right, so how many speedboats do you actually have? I have Herbie: Four. Shamus: Okay. Are they all green? Herbie: Waiting for the fifth one. Well the reason like the original one is black and yellow and it has it's it's not like a jet turbine type of thing. It's just like propeller. And I also would use that down at the lake. I still do. Like a of times there's people that I know and other people I've I'll post on Instagram that I'll normally go down to my local lake and I'll and I'll cook breakfast like on a on my day off. It's just nice. I'll just sit up on a park bench. I'll bring like a you know, like a little camping stove, cook up like some steak and eggs, bring some coffee, crank some you know, crank a radio and just like really relax at the lake and there's nobody there, so I get a chance of just just really just chill and relax. So Shamus: It's an out. Yeah. The way to get away from everything. Herbie: So I I b I bought that speed boat 'cause I'm sitting there chilling. I'm like, you what? The lake's nice. And I remember like as a kid, my mom bought one for my dad and she did it. It like a Christmas gag gift. Like she says, I bought him a boat. I bought you a boat. And she bought him like this little patrol boat. So that always like stuck in the back of my head. And you know, so I got the one speed boat and then of course, you know, when the other ones came around I was like, Ho ho 'cause they have the jet turbines on And and they're small too. And ever since I started doing the kayak thing, there was other things I wanted to do to be able to, you know, and just enjoy my time out there 'cause when I'm on the kayak, I'll have like I'll bring like a little floating radio. I'll bring food and I just really just like to relax out there. I'm not really going on like some kind of super like speed paddling exploration. I mean, I will explore all over the place. I'm willing to do that, but there's also times I like to go out there and I I go out there by myself. So I'll I'll do other types of things at the lake. I also do like like magnet fish and you know, I started doing the speed boat thing. But I g I think I got more into it 'cause as a joke, I was always talking about I wanted to get a kayak and I never did. And of course, like the second one was actually not a speed boat. It was this mini kayak guy. So it's basically it's like a little remote control kayak. I mean, it's little like maybe three or four inches long. And I would bring that down the lake as a joke. I'm just sitting there like on the bench, just, you know, making breakfast and playing that thing and Then it just evolved to like when I started looking at the other one, I like, Yeah, maybe should get like another one, or maybe I need some more batteries. And then I was looking at other models and stuff, and that's when the the the red one that I wanted and me getting the you know green one consistently. So what I did was after I couldn't get the red one from that one company, I was like, let me give that a test run, and I did it. You know, I liked it. but I was like, I still want the red one. So I looked for another one that had Like very similar, but it was just smaller. So I got that and then the bug got me. So I was like, boy, let me try to let just cause I I it wasn't like I settled for the green one. I wanted the red. The red's pretty cool, but not as good as the green physically, like skill wise, and it's not as big. So then of course this third one that I'm waiting for is made by the same company, but it's like a it's like a military boat, so it's like black and red. So I'm waiting for that one. But after I get that one, I promise. That's it. But I will You know, post videos like I do when I go out on the lake on Instagram and Facebook but for my friends and everybody to see and they enjoy it. And it and it like I said, it relaxes me. So maybe if if you have a hobby, I hope you do, maybe write it in. and yeah. I after this once delivered Shamus: Yep. Herbie: And I have like a remote control car. And I I've been doing like the I have two R C planes. 'Cause I have there's a big park like where I'm at. So like I'm starting to get into like trying to maximize the area that I live in. A nice quiet town that has a lake and a big park and I have a kite. So I just I don't know, I just I d I'm at the age now where I like if anyone knew me before, I used to party a lot and go to the clubs and all that and Just do a lot of dumb, reckless stuff, but there's also a side of me where I like to be out in nature and I like to be able to do things to be able to either be with my friends, not in a super exciting theater, but also just like a just to find that type of peace. And that's that's one of the things that I do. You know, magnet fish and and it's like a harmless type of hobby. So I'm I'm not trying to like interfere with anybody else. I'm just and a lot of times I'm by myself, so I'm not interfering with other people's space. Even though maybe sometimes old people are like wondering what the hell is this guy doing 'cause I'm I'm on the shore when I'm magnet fishing, like lassoing this frickin' rope with a magnet on the end of it and just chucking it in the water. So it's pretty much all I do. It's all about me having having fun and having my peace. But you know, thanks for writing in. Shamus: Yeah. Number seven. And we got a lot of feedback from this episode too. Apparently a lot of people in New Jersey do not like the DMV. Love the show, fellas. During the Green Boats and Ignorance episode, you guys and I had no idea we discussed this too during that episode. I had to go back and listen to it. you guys discussed the full moon effect. yeah, yeah. That must be a nationwide phenomenon because I'm a high school teacher out here in Arizona and kids go bonkers during a full moon phase. You guys also mentioned it seemed to affect hospital patients and addicts as well. And she put in parentheses the thriller reference was hysterical, by the way. See, my question is, does anybody know when do we outgrow that, or does it just affect different people, such as crackheads, kids, and patients? Yep. Keep up the good work. Tiffany from Flagstaff. Thanks for the letter, Miss Tiffany. I can't speak for the rest of the country, I can just speak for New Jersey. It's definitely a thing here. I've worked at three different schools in four years and it's always the same. Why are they wearing boggers? It's a fucking full moon. And you're just kinda like, really? Yeah. And they're like, yeah. Like you can always hear a kid in the like as soon as a teacher says it, you can hear a kid down like a distant hallway, like I root. Herbie: Tiffany, great question. And you're right. I I think I I'm gonna say it is worldwide, dude. The only way we're gonna stop that, Tiffany, is if we destroy the moon. Shamus: But then what are all the goth chicks who drink gonna do? Herbie: Tomato juice. Yeah. I mean they still got their sh their what is it, their their their gems and all that stuff. Shamus: But the hell turned into like the partridge family when the sun hits him. Come on, get hot, dude! Herbie: No, but you're right, Doc. Like it is it is an effect, and i it is true, like in in the hospitals and stuff that we all say it. It must be a full moon because people just wild the hell out. And you know, werewolves are real. Same thing with Creek Angels and Skinwalkers. They're all got chupacabers, they're all real. So good job. Good good question, Tiffany. Thank you for writing. Shamus: It's like I said, we can't answer for the rest of the company or but what we'll do is we'll put it out and if anybody else around the world, it could even be the world. Herbie: Check in. Shamus: Yeah, if I 'cause I know we still have people our our Japan audience is getting bigger. I'm sure your friends over there are probably pushing. Vietnam's still a place, so Herbie: Yeah, go feed. Shamus: we haven't gotten any emails from no people yet. So if you're a teacher in Vietnam or Japan, let us know. Yeah. Or if you work at a hospital over there and shit gets weird when the moon goes full. Herbie: True. There's there's werewolves worldwide, baby. So either either we destroy the moon and it's never gonna end, Tiffany. I'm sorry. It's just not just sit back and hold on tight like you're on a roller coaster and enjoy the ride, man. Shamus: We did here's another here's a question from sh his name Sharks. Sharks from Newark. Apparently during our rant episode we talked about the football gods, you know, when you did Jackson Jackson Dark out her Herbie: First bro, burns is down too. Shamus: I said, on one of your episodes you guys talked about pissing off the football gods. See what happens talking all that shit about Cable Williams probably wasn't the best idea after watching the Bears beat up on the birds Monday night. Thanks, bud. Great observation. Herbie: I didn't mention anything, man. I didn't say nothing. Shamus: And as soon as he as soon as the next question, as soon as I read this next sentence, my question is for Herbie. I was like, this motherfucker's a giant. He's a Giants fan. Herbie: Yeah, go cheer, burn. Shamus: My question is for Herbie. What do you think about the Giants trading for JJ McCarthy? Herbie: Dig it, I'll take it, I'll settle for it. I mean, there's not really much out there right now, bro. And I'm sure you understand. I'm still pissed that we just released Odell. Burns is out for the season. I mean, I I lost. I'm like, Shamus: Yeah. Wow. Herbie: what the? I'm I'm going to the Cardinals game this weekend. You know, and it's just it's upsetting because there's a lot of people that showed up for that game during the Northeast and it was raining on. So there's a lot of Beckham jerseys out there, and we chanted they wanted Beckham. And I was like, yeah. I th I think the only reason why they didn't wing it out to him, bro, is like to be honest, Jameis, I love the guy. He's like a great cheerleader. He's like doing a lot of stu like morale boosting for the team. But there's s I mean, you don't know what the hell you're gonna get with him, bro. That's why I'm I'm probably har Coach Harbaugh. Yeah, but dude, like that Shamus: He is kinda old too. Herbie: come on. That's probably why Coach Harbaugh said, Yo, throw keep throwing the ball low, dude. Don't start up high because you don't need a goddamn turnover. I mean, like last year guy, what what's that shark? Shamus: Just never. Herbie: Sharks. Sharks. Bro, love the name. Sharks, you know, if if you're a Giants fan like I am, you know, bro, that last year we definitely would have lost that game 14 to tw 14 to 12. I would have liked to seen more Beckham. I'll take JJ. I'm cool with it. But just the fact that we're losing Burns too, it's just like we lose Anakin Skywalker and Spider-Man. Shamus: Hold on a second. J Ma JJ McCarthy or Jameis Winston. It's a simple Herbie: I'll take JJ over Jameis. Seriously. I was actually I swear to God, bro. I was like, I was almost ready like, yo, call up Tommy Cut. Let's bring him back, bro. Shamus: I am a Brian Burns fan. He went to Florida State. Yeah. So all right, next question. Herbie: Goji Min. And I'll be there I'll be there for the Cardinals game and I'll be there for Jacksonville. I'm I'm trying to do the Niners too, so Shamus: that Jacksonville game's a loss. They're gonna beat RS too. They're tough this year. The Cardinals ain't no joke either. Herbie: Yeah I know. Shamus: All right. I think it's the number nine. Not sure. huge fan of the show and listen to it all the time. This is another question for you, Herbie. Answer me this. Is Herbie's car really that bad? I mean, Herbie: Hehehe. Shamus: why does he carry all that stuff around in his car? Please tell me he's not one of those homeless fucks living out of his his ride. I do. Is it really as bad as it sounds? Tomas from South Beach. I guess that's Miami. Yeah. Herbie: Tomás, okay. Party in the city where the heat is on the Jeep down. Yeah, probably not. Yeah, it it it is I it it basically started off I've only had like smaller cars. I have a Jeep now. And it's it's only basically because when I go to the Giants games and stuff, I was always that type of person I would have with the tents, the chairs, everything in there. And it's just a royal pain in the ass to get all that shit out, like after every game. So either I'd go to the game or I'd have stuff like ready for tailgating and parties, or just actually just parties outside of football. So there's always I have gear for like camping. I got gear for, you know, parties. I mean, for a while I had a beer pong table sitting in there because it would a lot of times when it either I would leave my job, I had a mutual friend that lived down the street. And he would call me up like while I'm at work getting ready to get off. He's like, you wanna go jet skiing? I'm like, Yeah. So I'd have like extra clothes in there. He was my buddy Tyler is always another guy that just like likes to do spontaneous stuff like I do. And I'm always that, yeah. Same thing when Seamus was like, Hey, you wanna do a podcast? I'm like, Yeah Shamus: Yeah. Herbie: So basically I have a lot of stuff in there that pertains to like me going to parties, camping, 'cause I do it you know, we do I do a lot of that with my friends. Shamus: Zombie apocalypse. Herbie: Zombie apocalypse. The the one thing though too is Tomas is the one time we actually had to get evacuated in the town where I live in, there was a huge Hurricane Sandy actually came Shamus: Yeah, you mentioned this, with the oil place or something. Herbie: Yeah. And we had to get evacuated. And I always thought in the back of my mind, 'cause there's normally you need to have things in your car to make sure in case if if something happens that you have something to be able to take care of yourself, be it be it you know, any type of like jumper cables, because there's a lot of people, I swear to God, that don't have jumper cables in their car. There's people that have like nothing in their trunk if they're if they're broken down or anything like that. And and I started getting stuff like that because you know when we t when I tailgate for giant games, you know, sometimes people would be left there You know, if they had their back tailgate on, you know, the the car was dead and people are leaving and either they don't have jumper cables and they could start the car. So I started learning stuff like that as I went on, like certain types of items that you would need or need to use in case of emergency while you're in your vehicle, of either like at a party or if you broke down, you just I I I'm always that person, like I'd rather need it or have it and not need it instead of need it and not have it. And w before we've been stuck like that with certain things like either like a power power goes out or anything like that or you know, me going to a party and everyone's like, We got everything else, but who's got the sternos? And I'm over here like I do. basically like my Jeep is like, you the Batman utility belt for like to participate in my other friends' lives too, 'cause you know, they all like to party. They do tailgate, they like to go camping. They like to do like all that fun adventurous stuff. So I pretty much I do make a joke about it 'cause the even people at work like, dude, are you homeless? And I and I get all sad. I'm like, Yes. They get all sad look on their face. So I just like messing with them. But there is a lot of stuff in there I really don't need right now during the season. It's just a pain in the ass to root them all that shit. But you know. And like plus I like decals from like when I went to Japan and also a lot of the Comic Con. So I have like a lot of like Giants and Yankees and Star Wars and all those other decals all over my car. So it's it's definitely. Shamus: Listen, if you ever saw the car, you would instantly go, Yeah, it's fucking hurt beach. Herbie: Yeah, yeah. Definitely. Shamus: Thank you for the email, Tom Allison. Please keep listening. And if it is South Beach in Miami, please push our brand there because man, would I love to do a show from there. Herbie: Yeah. I'll drive down there and my Yeah Shamus: Exactly. Herbie: Yeah. I can drive down. I can live out of my damn Jeep for like a week, man. Shamus: All right, let's see, I forget what number this is. This show is awesome. I love listening, and gotta say, every episode is a must listen to. thanks. With that being said, if you had to pick one, what would be your favorite episode thus far? And you have to pick one. Andrew from Dope. Herbie: Dover. God, Andrew, Dover. That's that great question. Say you want to do it first? Because I'm still like Shamus: I they all have a special place in my heart. Me too. and like I said, I kind of thought about it all day because I kind this was one of the questions I pulled from the mailbag last night as I was putting the segment together. it's a toss up. It's like I said, I loved every one of these episodes. it's a toss up between Len and Paul. Yeah. and like I said, just because I love Uncle Leonard. the stories and stuff. But like I said, I've known Paul for Christ since we were in freshman and high school. So I gotta go with the Paul episode. That was a lot of fun. but like I said, one B was Leonard. And then like I said, they were all just fun though. Like I've never the minute this stops being fun, I'm just done with it. Yeah. so far they've all been great. But yeah I'd have to go Paul in a s like Paul wins by a nose over like Leonard. Herbie: we crushed a lot of beers that night too, dude. Dude, Shamus: that's right. Yeah, we just Herbie: there was dead soldiers everywhere. Shamus: Yeah. And it was one of those things where the like the beers are just going good and everybody was having a good time, man. So but like I said, one A well it was Paul by a nose over Leonard. It was it was tough. But like I said, all of I've I've had such a good time, but all of them. Yeah. Like I said, meeting Steven Brett was was cool. You're friends. Yeah. seeing guys from work come in, Elvin and shit. you know, my buddy Rob came in. That was that's one of the lost episodes. 'cause when he left he just didn't feel right about Herbie: Yes. Shamus: I'm like, Rob, it it's fine, like, you know. I said, Well come back in, we'll redo it. I haven't seen him since. So But yeah, like just having everybody come in and like I said in last episode, it's great watching people kind of hesitant. Yeah. When they come in, they're kind of like, man, I don't know what to do now. And they put the headphones on and you're like, all right, ready? And when you hit the record button, they're just kind of like, but by the end of the episode, like, man, that shit was bright. Let's do it shit again. And da da da. So yeah. To answer your question, Paul. But he beat out Len Biden those. Herbie: Nice. For me, Shamus: Aren't you bothered? Herbie: I'm gonna say I love I love all the artwork. Like the of course the favorite one is the Star Wars one because you you know you did the crawl and everything, like sentimental-wise, and Jason from exciting and new came after that one and we we I was thankful that you guys Shamus: I was gonna say there's a story behind that because we were gonna do it with Troy and Jay. Yeah. But then something happened in your life where we tried to do it without you and like w after we hit the stop button we all just looked at each other and Troy doesn't even know you. Like he's never met you and he was just kinda like all three of us like, Yeah, we can't do this shit without we can't put this out there without Herbie. So yeah, so Herbie: Yeah, sentimental value and production that you especially the crawl that you did, that that was like my favorite. But I think the one that I I listen to a lot and I I laugh a lot about too is the the one with Brett. And of course, you know, it's it's it's yeah, it's like Brett, Uncle Len and Steve, man, because we just it's our friends and we just like laugh. Shamus: I was gonna say Steve's probably third place. Yeah. Because that shit was what's a podcast, man. Whatever the Herbie: You wanna do a podcast. Shamus: fuck you want to What's a podcast? What's a podcast? Herbie: But yeah, Brett Brett's is Brett's Brett's was like my favorite. Because not only that, because he's he's very successful in his businesses and everything. And was and just the fact that I reached out to him and he was like right there immediately. And I still keep in contact with him in Facebook and social media, but seeing him physically was like maybe a few years because I'd see him at like Comic Cons. But it was it it was I would probably say the bread episode is like my favorite. And the other ones have a lot of fun and sentimental memories for me. Shamus: I know. We're gonna have all them back on. Yeah. somewhere, you know, down the road we'll we'll revisit a lot like even the pooper scooper guys, all that stuff like that. Herbie: Even my buddy Steve the goddamn Momo. Shamus: Yeah, next next time he comes up we'll have him back on so you guys can see what these like I'm saying, these guys are you think we're fucking ugly. What do you see some of these people we bring in? Herbie: Especially Steve, you baked old doofy. Shamus: and then you guys will realize that Leonard is a real person. Yeah. It's not some Herbie: These are not made up characters, man. It's not like the Howard Stern show. We just actually no. We kinda are kinda like the Howard Stern show because even his guests were real people. Shamus: no doubt. Yeah I mean no doubt. Herbie: People from like Arizona and Miami and all them to like, is this what the frickin' people from South Jersey look like? Shamus: All right, we're gonna wrap this up with this one and then we'll talk a little bit about what's coming up because he kinda leads us into this. He's like, I love this shit. I can't wait to see you on video. Tell me what we can expect come the next episode when we finally get to see the boys behind the pork roll. Jerry Herbie: god. Shamus: from Northeast William. That's where I'm originally from, by the way, Mr. Jerry. Hunting Park in the motherfucking hiss. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: Thanks for listening, bud, and thank you for everybody who wrote something. Yes, definitely. keep coming, man. I love going through Herbie: We do, we enjoy that. Shamus: even the hate mail stuff, man. It's it's it's pretty creative and imaginative. And I love cause I'll respond to it. you know, it's all good fun and jest. But I guess what you can expect is pretty much the same thing, but you actually get to see us. you'll get to see the our reactions. 'cause that's That's another thing to dismiss because some of the faces and the some of the shit that we do that you guys can't see is absolutely priceless. seeing the laughter. I sound like Whitney Houston. Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: just watching you and Brett go back and forth and laughing your ass off you or Steve or like, you know, me, you and Paul just Fucking crying that night, like just laughing and stuff. Because that's one thing about watching Boost and Tattoos. Yeah. Like when those guys tell a J and they start laughing, you can actually you start laughing with them because you're just like, you know, it's funny, it's goofy. Those guys are having a good time. Yeah. So you'll get to see a lot of that. we try to decorate the set so if you ever want to look away from our ugly asses and kind of see what's behind us, Or if you have questions about what we have up here, we're willing to answer that. And like I said, we're gonna start. Bringing in more guests, more educational stuff for you guys, but in a light hearted, fun way. like I said, the minute this shit starts getting serious is the minute I walk away from it. Yeah. So and like I said, I can't believe like you s well, you said it. Yeah. It's been fifty episodes, man. I can't believe it. It seems like we've been doing it a long time, but we haven't really. And to knock out fifty episodes is I think pretty impressive. Yeah. especially during the summer, going back to school. And like I said, we still have a ton of material. We're we haven't run out of material yet. we still have a ton of people coming in, like I mentioned. And I just hope you like what you guys see. Herbie: I'm also kind of proud of myself too to me because I normally when I tell my stories, you know, like when we're like big bobs and stuff like that, I'm normally jumping up and being a little bit more animated. I'm I'm sitting down being a good boy. So you might see like a quieter version of me in real life. Cause I'm I'm I'm I'm sitting down and I'm trying to like when when we start doing video, I'm gonna try to make more eye contact with the camera and everything, be able to engage with the with the listeners and stuff. So you know, but still gonna be fun. Shamus: Yeah, it's gonna be a good time. And I look forward to the the next fifty episodes. yeah. So do you got anything else, bud? This is it. This is the last bit of all the next time we will be like just naked. Like out in front of everybody, like hey I was Herbie: God. Another reason why we're single. Shamus: gonna say, Yeah, Miss McKenny, do you really wanna know do you really wanna know why? Wait till you see this Herbie: They are stupid and ugly. Shamus: man. Herbie: Yeah. Like, thank you, strong and independent ladies, for thinking we suck. Thank you. That's awesome. Shamus: All right, I guess we can wrap this up. Thank you for being here. Like I said, this ends the audio part of our journey. The next one will be video and audio. just to give you guys a heads up, this video is either well, you'll either hear this Thursday or Friday, depending on how much of I and Gate edit it, because we are an hour sixteen into this. Nice. not this Monday coming up. Let me get the date for you. So we're looking at October twelfth will be our first video episode. And we're gonna put it up on Apple, Spotify, and we're gonna start a YouTube channel. So stay tuned to our Instagram and Facebook so we can give you a link to that. I'll probably set that up this weekend. That's cool. As I finish up the last little bit of this. Herbie: Yeah. Maybe we can get that silver plaque thing or something and you know, one day. Shamus: I never thought in a million f freaking years I would have like I figured I'd have like me dumping a dirt bike, you know, flying through the air and crashing into a tree or or you know, wiping out on a motorcycle or something in my earlier years when YouTube first started. I never thought in a million years like I'd be sitting down to set up a YouTube channel for like a podcast. Herbie: Yeah, well you're the one who asked me, so I like, well, okay. I thought about it before. Like, but it was you know me, I procrastinate, dude. I there was no way I would be able to put any of this stuff together myself. Shamus: No, there's no way. I can't get you here at five o'clock. Herbie: I know. I feel so I'm sorry, man. I had to eat real quick. I normally am like I normally am more punctual, but Shamus: I don't care. Like I said, the minute this starts being serious where you're like, You gotta be here at five then I'm done with it. Yeah. So that's why in the last episode we talked about people like that college kid wants to manage us and stuff, I said the minute we sign something, people are gonna be like, Okay, just what you need to know da duh. Yeah and I'm not fucking doing it. That's you're gonna have to get an agent. You know what Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: I mean? Instead of residual money, I just want, you know, what's that, Bobby Bonnet a day? Like he gets a million dollars every year. You gotta Herbie: Yeah, that'll be good. Shamus: negotiate in your contract. I get like a hundred boxes of Debbie's Christmas trees every year for the next twenty-five years. Herbie: Dude, I could blow through ki like a box in like frickin' three seconds. One of the girls at work gave it to me on the floor and that box was done by the time I got back down to the kitchen. Shamus: I'd have to drink a gallon of milk with that too. Herbie: so good though. Shamus: But yeah, this is it. So like I said, thank you to all the first responders, everybody who took care of us during the Nor'easter, all across the nation or all up coast to the east coast. thank you for all of our listeners, everybody who took the time to write in the mailbag. Thank you to all of our sponsors, yeah, all of our guests. And like I said, hopefully it just gets better from here and you know We wouldn't do this without the help and support of so many people behind the scenes. Exactly. And like I said, word of mouth. Spread the word about Herbie: Word Yeah, spread the word, and you know, it's actually with you to having a couple beers with, and you're like, Wanna be on a podcast? Okay. Shamus: So and this is where look where we're at now. Hell yeah. So just to go standing Herbie: Look at me. Shamus: in front of all these umbrellas with white bulbs in and cameras just point it right at your face and Yeah, now we got like a little bar area. It's like a green room setting and all that stuff, so What a waste of money. All Herbie: Yeah. Shamus: right, everybody. Thanks for tuning in. And as always, get your pet spade or neuter. Control the pet population. And remember, just because somebody thinks you suck doesn't make it true. Herbie, you got anything else? Herbie: I'm gonna try to do better, McKen Mackenzie. Just difficult. But yeah, thank you all the listeners. We we really do appreciate it. And we're very glad that a lot of you listeners reached out to like a for inspirational words and for Charlene. she is really going through it. Man, she has us as support. She still, you know, calls us and hangs out. We we will have her back. and you know, especially other women that we have like this is not like discriminating against like you know, just women. It's just kind of hard to be like, Hey, you wanna come to our house and we'll interview you? You know, so I I normally try to say check Shamus: baby, what you doing Thursday night? And they'd be like, what? Herbie: Yeah. I want to learn about you. And you're like, No, you don't. Like, yes, actually, yeah, we do. But yeah, so just all all you listeners, thank you so much. keep the questions coming. go giants. Go everybody else. and yeah, that's it, man. Just thanks thanks for you know being a part of this with us. Shamus: We out.
