- 0:05Welcome to The Hypnotist, the show that gives you inside
- 0:09access to cutting edge hypnosis with real clients facing genuine
- 0:13issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:14hypnotherapist, Demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:18royalty. Adam Cox.
- 0:20These recordings took place live from Evans Clinic in London's
- 0:24world famous Harley Street, so get yourself comfortable and
- 0:31enjoy today's episode of The Hypnotist.
- 0:39Hi, Adam here. And in this hypnosis session,
- 0:42you're going to be listening to hypnosis to turn inertia, which
- 0:46is feeling stark and not doing too much into momentum.
- 0:51And momentum is where you're already in that rhythm.
- 0:53You're in that groove and you're able to keep in that pace.
- 0:57And it was created for a client that was working in an industry
- 1:03of social media and marketing but wanted to do their own
- 1:06thing. But they found themselves giving
- 1:09more time to their job and less energy and enthusiasm for their
- 1:14own thing. And that was causing them some
- 1:17frustration because they knew that they would rather be doing
- 1:19their own thing. But they were giving more to
- 1:23other people, and that's not unusual.
- 1:25Most people will do more for their work or more for their
- 1:29family than they do for themselves because it's.
- 1:31Easier. To do more because there is this
- 1:34expectation that you have to meet a certain standard, whereas
- 1:37for many people when you do your own thing that can feel either
- 1:41self indulgent or optional. Not a necessity like a job or a
- 1:47source of income maybe. So this client felt that way.
- 1:50And what we agreed is certain winnable boundaries.
- 1:54So giving a certain amount of time per day that they would
- 1:57make as important as their own job or their own relationship
- 2:02and not compromise on it. Because if they could do 5 hours
- 2:05a week, then five hours a week over a year would actually be a
- 2:09significant amount of time that could they could make progress.
- 2:13They're going to learn a lot. They can actually do things that
- 2:16would create new clients. This articular client also knew
- 2:19that they would only need about two clients to actually buy the
- 2:24thing that they were selling to justify them quitting their job.
- 2:28That turns this imaginary wishful thinking dream into
- 2:32something very tangible and very imminent.
- 2:35And if it is the case that you only need a couple of clients to
- 2:38quit your job, then it makes sense to work backwards and say,
- 2:42what would I need to have in place to secure these two
- 2:45clients? That might be a website,
- 2:48marketing information, it might be a contract or something like
- 2:51that. And then with those five hours a
- 2:53week, you do those things that would be a prerequisite for
- 2:57finding your own exit strategy. And, and people I think love the
- 3:01idea, particularly if they're working in a job that they don't
- 3:03particularly like or they're working for a boss or a manager
- 3:06that they don't particularly like.
- 3:08Is this idea? Of being able to fire your boss.
- 3:12Because. It's a dynamic shift, and firing
- 3:15your boss just means quitting or resigning or doing your own
- 3:18thing. But notice the connotation of
- 3:21quitting and resigning is normally disempowering.
- 3:24If someone quits or resigns, it's like they've resigned to
- 3:27failure. Actually resigning from a
- 3:31unfulfilling job that could hold you back could be one of the
- 3:34most empowering things that you've ever done.
- 3:37So if you have a dream and that dream might be self-employment
- 3:40or it might be a different project that you're excited
- 3:42about and you feel that you're not making too much progress
- 3:45about it right now, I think that you'll get some value from this
- 3:49session. Even though this session has
- 3:51some entrepreneurial links because the client wanted to run
- 3:55their own business, I think the concept of turning inertia into
- 3:59momentum is very powerful. And that might be in fitness
- 4:03goals, that might be in social situations, it might be in,
- 4:08let's say, a side hobby or a project.
- 4:10But if you're not making much progress and you want to make
- 4:12regular process, this is the session for you.
- 4:15And if you want something more bespoke and customized, then
- 4:18there will be a link in the description where you can
- 4:19schedule a completely free consultation call and we'll have
- 4:22a chat about working together. And if you're listening on
- 4:25certain devices, like a smart speaker, it's difficult to find
- 4:29the show notes. So in that case, check out my
- 4:31website, adamcox.co.uk and you'll be able to see all the
- 4:35information there to schedule that free consultation call.
- 4:38For now though, find a quiet, comfortable place where you
- 4:41won't be disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:59Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 5:08calm feeling of relaxation, and as you exhale, feel a wonderful
- 5:16sense of release, particularly of doubts, doubts and fears.
- 5:23Just allow them to leave your body as you breathe out and
- 5:29breathe in a feeling of ever growing self belief.
- 5:36Because that self belief is there, but that doesn't mean it
- 5:40can't be strengthened, enhanced and amplified.
- 5:48So as you breathe in that self belief and exhale those doubts,
- 5:56just allow your body to adjust as if tension is leaving your
- 6:03body and that resourceful relaxation is charging up that
- 6:09battery of self belief and perhaps even determination.
- 6:19As you breathe in and breathe out, I want you to think about
- 6:24priorities. Many people in the world will do
- 6:32more for their employer or their partner than they'll do for
- 6:37themselves. But what if?
- 6:44What if by working so hard in a job, you're increasing the value
- 6:49of that business and depriving yourself of building your own?
- 6:59I want you to get a feeling, a feeling of how to break inertia.
- 7:08So as you breathe in and breathe out, I want you to imagine a
- 7:13table. And on that table is a marble, a
- 7:20stationary marble, not moving. And I want you to feel that in
- 7:29some aspects you feel like that marble, all of this capability,
- 7:38all of this potential, but stationary.
- 7:47And then imagine giving that marble a tiny notch and that
- 7:57ball that wasn't moving is now moving and will continue to move
- 8:03until it's either stops or falls off the edge.
- 8:10I want you to start thinking as to what it would take to build
- 8:15momentum, flower memory to form in your mind a time when you
- 8:23were a child in a playground. And I want you to think the
- 8:30child's roundabout. I want you to get a feeling that
- 8:35that child's roundabout, when it's stationary, requires effort
- 8:42to get it moving. But once it's moving, it
- 8:49requires very little effort to keep it moving.
- 8:56If your unconscious is willing to make the transition from
- 9:00inertia to momentum, from being stationary to moving forward,
- 9:06let me know by nodding your head.
- 9:11And I want you to think of your typical working week.
- 9:17And I want you to imagine structuring that week to give
- 9:23you 5 hours of dedicated work time on your own thing.
- 9:31And maybe that's an hour before work when you're working from
- 9:34home, or maybe it's an hour after you return of a day in the
- 9:42office. I want you to get a feeling that
- 9:49if you made that that time just as a loose intention, I really
- 9:59should do some work. Probably nothing will happen,
- 10:06but I want you to imagine making it as important as something,
- 10:15something that you would never not do.
- 10:20If there's a flight that you needed to catch, it isn't
- 10:25optional. You will be there at the
- 10:29airport. If it's spending with time with
- 10:36someone you love, you will make time because it's important.
- 10:44Put time in your diary to do some work for someone else.
- 10:52You do it because it's a standard and a responsibility.
- 10:59And I want you to imagine what it would feel like to make the
- 11:03time in your diary for your own thing of equal importance to
- 11:10what you're already willing to do for others.
- 11:15And maybe you could imagine seeing it like a calendar, a
- 11:23whole week planned out and you can see the blocks of time.
- 11:26Or maybe you could imagine where you would be at certain times of
- 11:35the day and what working would be like.
- 11:40Maybe at a desk. Let me typing it into a computer
- 11:46if you're unconscious reveals to you what this five hours of work
- 11:52would be on your own thing. Let me know by nodding your
- 11:56head. And I want you to imagine two
- 12:03different timelines. The version of you with an
- 12:07intention still acting as if it's low priority.
- 12:14And the version of you that even if someone asks you to do
- 12:20something at that same time that you've blocked it out, you turn
- 12:25down that thing to do your own thing.
- 12:28And just imagine observing the first version of you.
- 12:33Vague intentions, but not followed through.
- 12:38Perhaps see yourself three months, six months, a year from
- 12:41now, still wanting, still intending, but still in inertia.
- 12:50And if you're unconscious, it's crystal clear that that is a
- 12:57future you don't want. Let me know by nodding your
- 13:00head. So let's imagine the other I
- 13:06imagine observing you like you're an actor on a screen, not
- 13:14just working in that time, but working, focused, productive,
- 13:21intentional time. And maybe you're following
- 13:28checklists, looking backwards and figuring out what needs to
- 13:35be done and doing it in order of importance.
- 13:39Maybe during that time your phone is in a different room.
- 13:44No interruptions, no distractions.
- 13:47This is work time, and I want you to imagine the likely
- 13:52trajectory of three months of doing that.
- 14:00Maybe you've got business cards and a website, contracts and
- 14:04offers. Maybe you've got a social
- 14:09present that really communicates that you know what you're
- 14:13talking about. And maybe in six months time
- 14:17you've gone two or three clients.
- 14:23And if you've got two or three clients, maybe you can quit that
- 14:26job and do this thing all of the time.
- 14:32You would see more progress and without more progress, see where
- 14:38that would take you nine months from now.
- 14:42Maybe it's no longer just you. Maybe there's someone else that
- 14:45works alongside you. Maybe partner with other
- 14:49organizations that do the bits that you can't quite do, and you
- 14:53help them out in the areas where they can.
- 14:57And then imagine a year from now, what would starting off
- 15:02with just five hours a week potentially lead to?
- 15:08And then compare the two futures, the version of you
- 15:12frustrated, wishful thinking but not acting.
- 15:18And then that other version of you that started small, built
- 15:23momentum, and then built on that momentum.
- 15:30And if you're clear that five hours a week it's a small price
- 15:35to pay for a much more desirable future, let me know by nodding
- 15:39your head. That's it.
- 15:42And I want you to think what you would do tomorrow that would
- 15:50align with that version of you. What would you do on Monday?
- 15:59It would align with that version of you and maybe on the weekend
- 16:07it's more creative thinking and learning and on the weekdays
- 16:12it's more actually doing the thing, making decisions,
- 16:21creating. I don't want you to get a
- 16:25feeling that a part of this journey is you being comfortable
- 16:31with an online presence. I want you to imagine a stream
- 16:37with three stepping stones. Stepping Stone 1.
- 16:44You make content where people don't see your face or hear your
- 16:47voice. Still relevant, still helpful,
- 16:50still useful. They just don't know it's really
- 16:54you. And if you could imagine what
- 16:57that would be like, let me know by nodding your head and jump
- 17:01onto that first stepping stone and the next stepping stone.
- 17:10They don't see you, but they hear you.
- 17:13Instead of using one of those generic AI voices, it's now your
- 17:18voice. You're the expert.
- 17:23They just don't see you yet. Maybe what they're seeing is
- 17:29captions, relevant imagery that supports your words, or just
- 17:38that stock footage then seems to make sense.
- 17:44And if you could imagine doing that, take a leap to that next
- 17:48stepping stone and nod your head.
- 17:52And what if the third stepping stone?
- 17:59What if that one was you being comfortable enough to be on
- 18:05camera, speaking into the microphone, being the thought
- 18:15leader, being the expert, maybe reacting to campaigns, maybe
- 18:22sharing wisdom or insight, analysing trends?
- 18:29This is the future, but not too far away.
- 18:32And if you could imagine you with the confidence, the
- 18:37credibility and the competency to be doing content like that,
- 18:42let me know about nodding your head and then leap onto that
- 18:47third stepping stone. And maybe on the other side of
- 18:53the stream is one step further. Maybe that's doing stuff live,
- 19:01appearing on high profile podcasts, collaborating with
- 19:06other content creators. Whatever you're unconscious lets
- 19:10you know it's beyond allow it to create that for you.
- 19:17And you don't need to do that immediately, but if your
- 19:21unconscious is receptive, constantly growing, evolving,
- 19:27becoming more and more confident, then imagine leaping
- 19:30to the other side of the stream, getting a sense of what that
- 19:35would be like. Because in order to be like
- 19:39that, you need to own your knowledge, own your credibility,
- 19:48own your expertise. Some people believe that you
- 19:53learn before you earn, and maybe you feel comfortable at that
- 19:58stage after accomplishing certain things that make you
- 20:03feel you're worthy of it. Or maybe you just hop, skip and
- 20:10jump all the way to the other side of that riverbank and feel
- 20:16worthy enough to do that sooner rather than later.
- 20:21And I want you to get a feeling that you are just a couple of
- 20:24clients away from being in full control of your future.
- 20:34And the time you spend on that five hours a week or more is
- 20:41everything that would be necessary to either acquire or
- 20:46work with that very first client.
- 20:51And if you're unconscious, understands and accepts, let me
- 20:54know by nodding your head. That's it.
- 20:58So it's time to return to the present feeling that you've now
- 21:03set a new agreement and you promise with yourself you will
- 21:10give your thing just as much importance as those other
- 21:15important things in your life. And in doing so, you turn
- 21:20inertia into momentum, which gives you infinite increased
- 21:28possibility of turning your dreams and ideas into reality.
- 21:36So take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 21:40nose. Just wiggle your fingers, wiggle
- 21:43your toes, feel like you're floating all the way back to the
- 21:46here and the now. As I now count from 1:00 to
- 21:5010:00 to awaken you. You will awaken with a new found
- 21:53feeling of excitement, inspiration, but more
- 21:57importantly a desire to turn thoughts into actions, actions
- 22:06into progress, progress into more confidence, to turn that
- 22:11future version of you into an inevitable destiny.
- 22:16Starting to count 123. Waking up 456.
- 22:20More alert 7-8. Open your eyes, open your eyes.
- 22:25910. Wide awake, wide awake, wide
- 22:28awake. Thank you so much for joining me
