- 0:02Speaker 1: Weird to say it, but this is the last week
- 0:05Speaker 1: of the regular season. Don't worry though everything's been decided
- 0:09Speaker 1: since the end of August. Mister week, felt like I
- 0:13Speaker 1: missed the year. Thanks to Lona Rizzo for filling in.
- 0:16Speaker 1: By the way, what the heck is going on? Can
- 0:18Speaker 1: you remember a year this crazy and it's not about well,
- 0:22Speaker 1: we can come to mind. What was twenty eleven when
- 0:26Speaker 1: the when.
- 0:27Speaker 2: The Red Sox blew it and raised won on the
- 0:30Speaker 2: last day, and remember the the praise lead that year?
- 0:35Speaker 2: Twenty eleven comes to mind.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Okay, this one to me. On the collapse side crats
- 0:41Speaker 1: last year, I thought it was so crazy.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Yeah, fourteen, the A's absolutely collapsed to allow the Royals
- 0:47Speaker 3: to host the wildcard game.
- 0:49Speaker 2: As were like traded.
- 0:51Speaker 3: You had assessment us and then they collapsed, had like
- 0:54Speaker 3: a ten or eleven game lead.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Okay, well, I'm being told we have something special prepared,
- 1:03Speaker 1: so let's charge them.
- 1:04Speaker 4: Ount charging about.
- 1:09Speaker 2: The Mets are in. By the way, all you're saying, oh,
- 1:12Speaker 2: the Reds are in four four up and the.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Lost get them, I just said they're no in the mix.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I mean not longer. They're one. Now they're four back
- 1:19Speaker 2: in the loss.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Raise your hand if you think that the National League
- 1:23Speaker 1: Wild Card is done right, because we had the weekend
- 1:26Speaker 1: with the Reds and Mets. Reds took one. We're good there, Okay, cool, The.
- 1:30Speaker 2: Mets are gonna get in as nice as a story
- 1:32Speaker 2: as everyone is in full panic mode up there in Queens.
- 1:35Speaker 2: The Mets are in. Okay. They're gonna get into ten
- 1:38Speaker 2: games left, eleven games left for some teams. They're gonna
- 1:40Speaker 2: get it. They're not gonna blow a three game lead.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Beautifully done by Frankie behind the scenes. The Mets and
- 1:52Speaker 1: the Reds are tied, but they're not. They're both eighty
- 1:55Speaker 1: and seventy six. But the Mets are a game back
- 1:59Speaker 1: of the Reds right now. They are on the outside
- 2:02Speaker 1: looking in. Do they control their own destiny? No, they don't.
- 2:05Speaker 1: The Reds swept the Cubs over the weekend. They won
- 2:08Speaker 1: four in a row. The Mets dropped two of three
- 2:12Speaker 1: to the Washington Nationals.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Listen, the Mets. I'm gonna say it right here, loud
- 2:18Speaker 2: and clear. The Mets are choking like gags. All right.
- 2:22Speaker 2: I haven't seen this. This is bad, man, this is bad,
- 2:25Speaker 2: and I don't know what they can do to stop it.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I mean, it's not Listen, the Reds are they're what
- 2:30Speaker 2: four games over five hundred. They swept the Cubs in
- 2:33Speaker 2: four games, which is great for them. But the Mets
- 2:36Speaker 2: are four games over five hundred.
- 2:38Speaker 1: That's it.
- 2:38Speaker 2: They were like twenty five games over five hundred not
- 2:41Speaker 2: that long ago. So this ain't on the Reds, which
- 2:43Speaker 2: is great that they're still live. And I had the
- 2:45Speaker 2: Reds on Sat. Thursday and Terry frank ConA was saying, like,
- 2:48Speaker 2: we're in it because our guys ain't quittin. Yeah, quintin.
- 2:50Speaker 2: But it also takes an absolute choke job by them.
- 2:53Speaker 2: If the Mets were ten games over right now, they
- 2:56Speaker 2: still have a comfortable lead to be fine. They're four
- 2:58Speaker 2: games over and air is the fact that San Francisco
- 3:01Speaker 2: we can wipe off there. But Arizona, the fact that
- 3:03Speaker 2: they're even still alive is crazy crazy.
- 3:07Speaker 1: The Diamondbacks, legit have a shot, I know.
- 3:10Speaker 2: And the Mets gotta go to the Cubs. When the
- 3:12Speaker 2: Cubs are just lost born Rows, they're gonna be.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Pissed, yeah, and they have a chance to knock a
- 3:16Speaker 1: team out that would be annoying for them to face.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Potentially the Diamondbacks have the Dodgers for three and then
- 3:23Speaker 1: the Padres for three. Not easy.
- 3:26Speaker 2: Now, the Dodgers already clinched, didn't they.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Yeah, and the Padres, I don't. I gotta look at
- 3:30Speaker 1: the spots. But they might not be playing for anything
- 3:32Speaker 1: at that point. I don't even know if seeding would
- 3:34Speaker 1: be on the line with three games to go. Not necessarily, right.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Depends on how these depends on how these go. I
- 3:39Speaker 3: think their magic numbers three, So just depends on how
- 3:43Speaker 3: these first three go.
- 3:45Speaker 1: It's a great point, though, Krats.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Well, they're five up over the Reds and the Mets,
- 3:48Speaker 2: so I mean, right, so they have whatever win. They
- 3:53Speaker 2: win one game, it's over. They get the second seed,
- 3:56Speaker 2: they get the five seed.
- 3:57Speaker 1: Right, they're planted in the five seed.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I think they have a chance to cash the Cubs,
- 4:01Speaker 2: don't they. The Cubs three back was six to play.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Right, So in three games we'll know. But there's a
- 4:08Speaker 1: decent chance it won't matter, which means the Diamondbacks will
- 4:12Speaker 1: be having the time of their lives. Because this is
- 4:14Speaker 1: deja vu from a year ago where the Diamondbacks were
- 4:16Speaker 1: fighting for their postseason lives, and that looked like a
- 4:20Speaker 1: team that should get in, as they finished with eighty
- 4:22Speaker 1: nine wins. This year's team's not gonna finish with eighty
- 4:24Speaker 1: nine wins, but they might actually get in. And a
- 4:27Speaker 1: team that's sold at the trade deadline, you know what,
- 4:30Speaker 1: long term, the trade deadline is gonna get messier and messier.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Last year, the Tigers traded Jack Flaherty and then they
- 4:37Speaker 1: ended up making the playoffs. Now, Trey Sweeney was helpful,
- 4:39Speaker 1: there were helpful parts there right. This year, we'll get
- 4:42Speaker 1: to Cleveland later, but they traded away Shane Bieber. The
- 4:45Speaker 1: Diamondbacks traded away Josh Naylor, Gino Suarez, Merril Kelly. We're
- 4:50Speaker 1: talking about teams that are in it now, so they're
- 4:52Speaker 1: gonna look to a season like this and be like, what.
- 4:57Speaker 3: If we mess guy messier or more bored. I hope
- 5:01Speaker 3: it doesn't make it more boring, like like, oh, we
- 5:03Speaker 3: can't get rid of anybody. We're not able to get
- 5:06Speaker 3: like see what happened to the Diamondbacks in twenty five.
- 5:09Speaker 3: I hope it doesn't make I hope teams don't go
- 5:11Speaker 3: the other way and as well, we'll just hold on
- 5:13Speaker 3: to We'll hold on to everybody.
- 5:17Speaker 1: So it's a great story. To have the Reds and
- 5:21Speaker 1: the Diamondbacks involved in the final week of the season.
- 5:23Speaker 1: But like Aj mentioned Kratz, if the Mets weren't a
- 5:27Speaker 1: dumpster fire for a couple months now, it would be
- 5:31Speaker 1: a nothing burger in the National League, right, Like, if
- 5:34Speaker 1: you had the Mets finishing in the five hundred mark
- 5:37Speaker 1: over the last couple months, they would have cruised. They
- 5:39Speaker 1: would be up a lot, right, they would be competing
- 5:42Speaker 1: for the division still. And if you took the Mets
- 5:44Speaker 1: out of the equation, right, the Reds and the Diamondbacks
- 5:47Speaker 1: weren't catching the Padres in the position they're at. So
- 5:50Speaker 1: this is two teams playing well right now. Right, Cincinnati's
- 5:54Speaker 1: won like ten of fifteen something like that, But it's
- 5:56Speaker 1: also an absolute disaster he's going on with this team.
- 6:01Speaker 1: So let's take this weekend for example, they lost two
- 6:05Speaker 1: of three to the Nationals. They won Friday, I think
- 6:07Speaker 1: twelve six, They lost the next two. They can never
- 6:10Speaker 1: come back late in games. Won Soto had a nice weekend, Yeah,
- 6:13Speaker 1: but mon.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Soto keeps coming. Monsota got the broken bad hit, but
- 6:16Speaker 2: he also comes up in big spots and doesn't come
- 6:18Speaker 2: through like it's like, right, and Francisco. I mean, he
- 6:24Speaker 2: got the one broken bad hit, and then on Saturday,
- 6:26Speaker 2: I think it was or he blooped it in, but
- 6:28Speaker 2: then Pete couldn't get the hit to give him the lead,
- 6:29Speaker 2: and then they lost an extras on the inside the
- 6:32Speaker 2: park homer, by the way, and then yesterday was anough
- 6:35Speaker 2: and then yesterday was unbelievable. The fact that the guy
- 6:38Speaker 2: who jumped over the wall and then brought it back
- 6:41Speaker 2: and then kicked it to him, so, like, you know,
- 6:43Speaker 2: the Giants were like, that's the catch of the decade. No,
- 6:45Speaker 2: the dude who kicked it to himself, that's a way
- 6:47Speaker 2: better catch than the other guy missing it and catching
- 6:49Speaker 2: between his legs.
- 6:50Speaker 1: Then he did another late in the game game.
- 6:51Speaker 2: When the game tying homer, he brought that back too.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Jacob Young, Well, I mean, what a freaking defensive. But
- 6:57Speaker 2: the fact that the Mets score two runs, two.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Runs, that's what I'm talking.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Although Jake Irvin and Brad Lord or it was Jake
- 7:08Speaker 3: Irvin and somebody else whoever they face, they score two
- 7:11Speaker 3: runs off of two starting pitchers that have over a
- 7:13Speaker 3: five VR. This vaunted the reason that AJ and everybody
- 7:19Speaker 3: on here said the Mets are gonna get in. The
- 7:21Speaker 3: Mets are fine.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Is because you figured they would turn it around fit.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Maybe this is who they are. Maybe the beginning of
- 7:29Speaker 2: the season was not the Mets, and they're just hanging
- 7:33Speaker 2: on for dear life now because this is who they are,
- 7:36Speaker 2: or they're gonna go and rattle off six straight wins.
- 7:40Speaker 2: I don't see that happening with this team, the way
- 7:42Speaker 2: they're playing and the fact that they have to go
- 7:43Speaker 2: play the Cubs, who also have to turn their own
- 7:46Speaker 2: ship around. But it's crazy to watch them.
- 7:53Speaker 1: When you think fair harbor, you should think soft, you
- 7:56Speaker 1: should think buttery liner. But it's not just the bathing suits,
- 7:59Speaker 1: are the shorts, it's also sweatshirts like the one that
- 8:03Speaker 1: I'm wearing right now, Kratz. It is stupid soft.
- 8:07Speaker 2: It's ridiculous that a shirt that can one keep you warm,
- 8:10Speaker 2: two be so soft, and three so lightweight, like the
- 8:14Speaker 2: collar everything. You don't even feel like you actually have
- 8:17Speaker 2: a hoodie on, but you do.
- 8:18Speaker 1: It is a lightweight hoodie and it feels incredible. So
- 8:23Speaker 1: you should go get one yourself. Also for bathing suits,
- 8:26Speaker 1: for shorts, for whatever clothes that you're interested in, where
- 8:29Speaker 1: you want to basically feel like you're not wearing them,
- 8:31Speaker 1: but you are. That's what Fair Harbor can bring to
- 8:34Speaker 1: the table. So head to Fairharbor Clothing dot com slash
- 8:38Speaker 1: foul twenty and use code foul twenty for twenty percent
- 8:42Speaker 1: off your order. That's Fair Harbor h A R B
- 8:45Speaker 1: O R Clothing dot com backslash foul twenty for twenty
- 8:48Speaker 1: percent off your order and make sure you use that
- 8:51Speaker 1: promo code foul twenty. But the Cobs clinched, by the way,
- 8:54Speaker 1: I don't care. Once it teams clenches, I.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Think gets locked into the four spot, just fine. The
- 9:01Speaker 2: big we're talking Mets, we gotta talk Tigers. Oh, they
- 9:05Speaker 2: had a fifteen and a half game lead, fifteen and
- 9:09Speaker 2: a half game lead, and they I mean, it's down
- 9:12Speaker 2: to the nitty gritty now. I mean, if Cleveland wins
- 9:15Speaker 2: this series, they win the season series, and they're they're
- 9:18Speaker 2: ahead or they're tied, whatever it is. But this is
- 9:21Speaker 2: this is like real deal stuff now for the Tigers,
- 9:24Speaker 2: Like they had a fifteen and a half game leave
- 9:27Speaker 2: what a month ago, Yeah, over over August, in the
- 9:30Speaker 2: mid August.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Yeah, they had like it was like fourteen over KC.
- 9:33Speaker 1: But fifteen and a half over Cleveland, which is the
- 9:35Speaker 1: team that's actually catching them. So is that a bigger
- 9:37Speaker 1: collapse if oh my god, they just don't make it.
- 9:40Speaker 1: It's on the Tigers.
- 9:42Speaker 2: Oh, fifteen and a half, Yeah, fifteen and a half
- 9:45Speaker 2: game lead with a month and a half to go September.
- 9:48Speaker 2: And by the way, they got rid of their whole
- 9:49Speaker 2: All the guys they traded for and made all these
- 9:50Speaker 2: moves were all gone Cleveland. No, I'm not about Detroit. Oh,
- 9:55Speaker 2: Charlie Morton, this guy gone.
- 9:57Speaker 1: Oh, I mean they're like feet they dfa Charlie Moore
- 9:59Speaker 1: in Yeah. We actually I saw a tweet. I'll find
- 10:02Speaker 1: it while we're chatting about how many of the moves
- 10:04Speaker 1: they made at the deadline and how much is turned on.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Hobby has an eighty four ops plus.
- 10:10Speaker 1: He gave him a lot of life early on, he did,
- 10:12Speaker 1: but he is, I mean it is. Oh, here's the tweet.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Pitchers acquired by the Tigers in July. Devin Smelter gone,
- 10:21Speaker 1: Jeff Hartley gone, Tanner Rainey came up for Charlie Moore,
- 10:24Speaker 1: and Luke Jackson's gone. Paddock to the bullpen. Dobin guns
- 10:28Speaker 1: the money thing at Triple A Cody Heuer is gone,
- 10:31Speaker 1: so Finnigan, Montero, Seawalds Morton's gone.
- 10:34Speaker 2: They just pitched one time, right because he was hurt. Yeah,
- 10:37Speaker 2: so he can't really even count him. Finnigan's been okay,
- 10:40Speaker 2: Montero's been okay, but ouch.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Finnigan's surprised there because they.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Were able to just wanted.
- 10:46Speaker 1: But that's the thing. You look at their trade deadline,
- 10:49Speaker 1: they essentially traded for one high leverage reliever in Kyle Finnigan.
- 10:54Speaker 1: That was their whole.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Tradebody else wanted that nobody else wanted in the off season.
- 10:59Speaker 2: The trade deadline last year or this year, that's a.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Bad trade deadline. That's a depth over that's a quantity
- 11:06Speaker 1: over quality trade deadline, and that that was an.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Unsious We're gonna make the postseason because we have a
- 11:12Speaker 2: double digit lead and we're just gonna try to make
- 11:16Speaker 2: some move So it looks like we're doing some things,
- 11:17Speaker 2: but we're really not doing some things because we're gonna
- 11:20Speaker 2: get into the postseason e kind of stuff. And now
- 11:24Speaker 2: all hell is broken loose and they are looking at
- 11:26Speaker 2: it because they got to go to Cleveland. In Cleveland,
- 11:30Speaker 2: Cleveland gives up like two runs a game. It's unbelievable
- 11:33Speaker 2: what they're doing. But I mean, the fact that right now,
- 11:35Speaker 2: if you look at the playoff picture, the Reds are
- 11:36Speaker 2: in the postseason is mind boggling to me. Ohio is
- 11:41Speaker 2: going nuts, and the Astros too. By the way, the
- 11:43Speaker 2: Astros are tied with Guardians for the last wild card.
- 11:47Speaker 2: I don't know who has the tiebreaker, you all.
- 11:49Speaker 3: All hasn't been figured out yet. They got to do
- 11:53Speaker 3: the stupid intra division thing, which anyway, we'll talk about
- 11:58Speaker 3: at some point if it comes up. But that whole
- 12:01Speaker 3: situation makes me angry.
- 12:03Speaker 2: I mean, and let's not forget Seattle went in and
- 12:04Speaker 2: whooped Houston's ass for three They crushed it, and they
- 12:07Speaker 2: got their three best. They got Brown Fromber and Alexander,
- 12:10Speaker 2: and they whooped their ass for three games.
- 12:12Speaker 1: Well, they had Wu Kirby Gilbert, Yeah, and they beat them.
- 12:17Speaker 2: But what I'm saying, Houston lined it up, so they
- 12:19Speaker 2: had their three best going and they got their asses
- 12:22Speaker 2: whooped for three games.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Brown was good. Framberg got destroyed and he's been shelled
- 12:27Speaker 1: for a while now. And Jason Alexander, I mean, if
- 12:30Speaker 1: you look at his pitch chart, middle middle middle middle, middle,
- 12:33Speaker 1: middle middle, like it was like zero command last night
- 12:37Speaker 1: and the Mariners pounced early back to Detroit for a sec.
- 12:42Speaker 1: So I was just looking back at the lead fifteen
- 12:44Speaker 1: and a half. I think sometime in August, let's get
- 12:46Speaker 1: to September. We're in September. At September twenty second. On
- 12:49Speaker 1: September first, the Tigers were ten and a half games up.
- 12:54Speaker 1: So what I'm saying three weeks ago, I know.
- 12:56Speaker 2: The Guardians won one nine or ten in a row,
- 12:58Speaker 2: ten in a row, but if not five and five
- 13:00Speaker 2: in that stretching for the Tigers, it's only five games
- 13:02Speaker 2: is done. I think they went one to nine and
- 13:04Speaker 2: they picked up like nine games.
- 13:06Speaker 1: This past weekend is a good example of why I
- 13:08Speaker 1: do schedule watching. So the Tigers played the Braves. Braves
- 13:13Speaker 1: are smoking hot. They've got some of their big boys
- 13:15Speaker 1: playing right now. Matt Olsen's having a six second half Like,
- 13:18Speaker 1: They've got a lot of their big boys in the lineup. Yeah,
- 13:21Speaker 1: So do you want to play the Braves or do
- 13:23Speaker 1: you want to play the Twins? This past weekend and
- 13:25Speaker 1: the Cleveland Guardians took two of three, Like, those look
- 13:28Speaker 1: like two different teams right now, even though they're both
- 13:30Speaker 1: crap records, don't you think.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Yeah, because you're getting sale and you're getting some of
- 13:34Speaker 2: the other big bus striders rounded in a little bit
- 13:36Speaker 2: more into form. Yeah, so you're getting some different guys,
- 13:38Speaker 2: and their bullpen is still pretty good because they didn't
- 13:40Speaker 2: trade anybody. You know, Iglacias is still back there, all
- 13:43Speaker 2: their big boys, and the Braves are still there. They
- 13:44Speaker 2: didn't get rid of anybody. They didn't really do anything.
- 13:47Speaker 2: They basically have the team that we thought was supposed
- 13:49Speaker 2: to be good still sitting there.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Yeah, the Braves that want a bunch in a row now,
- 13:53Speaker 1: I don't know what the number is, but it's been
- 13:54Speaker 1: a bunch hold on or maybe I think it's seven
- 13:59Speaker 1: or eight.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Who does what?
- 14:02Speaker 3: Who hangs on the Tigers are the Mets. Who has
- 14:05Speaker 3: a better chance of hanging on.
- 14:10Speaker 2: The Tigers do? For me?
- 14:12Speaker 1: Because they play the Guardians.
- 14:13Speaker 2: If they play the Gardens, if they win, that series
- 14:14Speaker 2: is basically over. They win two out of three, it's
- 14:16Speaker 2: basically and they're still in control. The Mets are out
- 14:21Speaker 2: like they're out of the ability of their destiny no
- 14:24Speaker 2: matter what they no matter what they do.
- 14:26Speaker 3: I don't think this team is playing good enough right
- 14:28Speaker 3: now to rattle off six in a row, let alone
- 14:32Speaker 3: three in a row. But they they could, they could
- 14:36Speaker 3: win out and not be in Yeah.
- 14:39Speaker 1: I'll say it right, I'll say Tigers too. And good
- 14:43Speaker 1: point here buying the two starts for schoobl this week,
- 14:46Speaker 1: and we're about to talk Tigers.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Here's the problem with that. He starts tomorrow and then
- 14:53Speaker 2: to start Sunday. If they got to use him on Sunday,
- 14:55Speaker 2: then they got to go play a three game Wildcard.
- 14:58Speaker 2: They're screwed.
- 14:59Speaker 1: He's out.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Then he can't pitch so game one of the DS,
- 15:03Speaker 2: which would be great for me because I'll probably be
- 15:05Speaker 2: doing that series.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Oh right, well if they make it to that series. Yeah, okay.
- 15:11Speaker 1: How about on the Mets side, So you've got three
- 15:13Speaker 1: against the Cubs, like.
- 15:14Speaker 2: We talked about, McLean lost yesterday.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Yeah he's there one.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Now I know he lost.
- 15:19Speaker 1: He lost well, bad run support, but yeah he lost.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Wait how about this? After the Cubs, the Mets play
- 15:24Speaker 1: a Marlins team that's all four games out on fire.
- 15:28Speaker 1: They're on fire. That's it's not a fun team to play.
- 15:30Speaker 1: They're on fire. They always give the Metal hard time
- 15:33Speaker 1: and wait for it, they reshuffled their starting rotation so
- 15:36Speaker 1: that their hottest pitcher can start on Friday and probably
- 15:40Speaker 1: his last start or maybe his last start in Miami.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Samuel Contre got bumped Friday because it's fun. If you're
- 15:47Speaker 1: the Marlins front office, you're like, let's screw with the Mets.
- 15:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Yeah. So this is just an absolute dumpster fire final
- 15:57Speaker 1: week and it's really entertaining for most baseball fan. And
- 16:00Speaker 1: that's of a three hundred and forty million dollars care.
- 16:02Speaker 2: It's been great because a month ago we were saying
- 16:04Speaker 2: it's over. Every all the races are decide except for seeding.
- 16:07Speaker 2: We weren't counting in two of the ultimate gag jobs
- 16:10Speaker 2: of all time. I'm sorry, there's two. Just listen, people
- 16:16Speaker 2: will say. People look back in two thousand and five
- 16:18Speaker 2: and we had a big lead on Cleveland and we
- 16:20Speaker 2: got it down to like two games whatever. We never
- 16:22Speaker 2: felt worried about it. We always I was like, we're
- 16:23Speaker 2: always going to win this division. Okay, this time though,
- 16:27Speaker 2: maybe because I'm not in the Tigers clubhouse, it just
- 16:29Speaker 2: feels like something went wrong. I don't know what went wrong,
- 16:33Speaker 2: but something went wrong. Maybe Tommy Kanley needs to grab
- 16:35Speaker 2: the whole team and shave them all and start over.
- 16:38Speaker 2: I don't know what happened. Burn we used to have
- 16:40Speaker 2: like where we burn our all of our bats together.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Try something crazy, because right now, if they lose tomorrow
- 16:47Speaker 2: with Scooba on the mound, boy, you want to talk
- 16:51Speaker 2: about some pressure on Jack Flaherty the next day? Wow?
- 16:55Speaker 2: Serious pressure. I don't know about you.
- 16:57Speaker 3: I don't know about you, AJ, but watching and looking
- 17:00Speaker 3: at the scores, something in my chest like started to
- 17:04Speaker 3: hurt for the Tigers. Like it like brought me back
- 17:07Speaker 3: to times when like leads started to like dwindle away.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Probably never really had an issue and the teams never
- 17:14Speaker 3: came back. Any team that I was on, we never
- 17:16Speaker 3: like coughed up a big lead like this. But I
- 17:20Speaker 3: just feel for the Tiger like I feel it. I
- 17:23Speaker 3: don't know if anybody else can feel it. I'm not
- 17:25Speaker 3: a Tigers fan, but like as an ex player, like
- 17:29Speaker 3: what those guys are talking about, thinking about, it's probably
- 17:33Speaker 3: worse what they're thinking about than what they're talking about
- 17:35Speaker 3: because they're like I wonder if.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Anybody else is worried. I'm not going to say anything.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Maybe he's not worried, and then everyone's thinking the exact
- 17:40Speaker 2: same thing.
- 17:43Speaker 1: So here's how I want to finish this. We're about
- 17:46Speaker 1: to talk Tigers with Cody Stavenhagen, and we'll ask him
- 17:49Speaker 1: how we've gotten to this point, even if both of
- 17:51Speaker 1: these teams get in, How we've gotten to this point
- 17:53Speaker 1: of it being a mess of a final week for
- 17:55Speaker 1: those two teams to have to scrap and claw to
- 17:57Speaker 1: get in. We're not. We don't have a Mets guest,
- 17:59Speaker 1: So I'm just going to say this on the Mets side.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Sure you can put some blame on the offense, especially
- 18:05Speaker 1: in a game like yesterday, but I'm looking at them
- 18:07Speaker 1: for the season run scored, they're eleventh, and they play
- 18:10Speaker 1: in a pitcher's ballpark. The offense is done enough. The
- 18:13Speaker 1: pitching staff was built as a way, How do I
- 18:18Speaker 1: describe this in a way where.
- 18:19Speaker 2: They're they're they're they were acting like they were acting
- 18:22Speaker 2: like the Brewers, not the Mets. Correct, That's what they did.
- 18:26Speaker 2: They were acting like the Brewers, and they weren't acting
- 18:28Speaker 2: like the Mets when they came to the starting pitching code.
- 18:30Speaker 2: I sanga isn't triple A.
- 18:32Speaker 1: Where's Frankie montas well? That's yeah, but he also sucked
- 18:36Speaker 1: when he pitched. That was one of the worst signings
- 18:38Speaker 1: I've seen.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Two of their biggest signings have piggyback in their last
- 18:44Speaker 2: two starts, Clay Holmes Sean Manya.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Obviously you didn't know Sean man Ia was gonna do
- 18:49Speaker 3: what he's done this year injury issue. But they're piggybacking
- 18:53Speaker 3: two of their biggest signings. That's crazy.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Yeah, but you signed Clay Holmes knowing that you're going
- 18:58Speaker 1: to have problems late in the year, just like Rinaldo
- 19:00Speaker 1: Lopez for the Graves last year. This is all expected.
- 19:03Speaker 1: So the Mets freaking blew it, and they are saved
- 19:06Speaker 1: by the youngsters coming in here. If they don't have
- 19:09Speaker 1: that whole prospect talent base of pitching in the minor leagues,
- 19:13Speaker 1: we're not even having this conversation super chat time, Xander
- 19:17Speaker 1: clearly a Phillies fan here. Kratz'll read it. The collapse
- 19:21Speaker 1: of the Mets isn't because they aren't good. It's because
- 19:23Speaker 1: they weren't built for adversity. They were built for individual's success.
- 19:26Speaker 1: If it isn't going right, there's not any fight. Go Phils.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Thank you for the super chat, Xander. I do completely disagree.
- 19:32Speaker 1: I don't think they're showing up to the ballpark every
- 19:34Speaker 1: day like it's only for me. I think they're showing
- 19:36Speaker 1: up to the bar park, Like why did a three
- 19:39Speaker 1: hundred and forty million dollars payroll rely on lottery ticket pitching?
- 19:44Speaker 2: That's it.
- 19:45Speaker 3: That's why they went out and got like they're playing
- 19:47Speaker 3: both ends of the spectrum. They're like, we want to
- 19:49Speaker 3: go get the best, most valuable players who can bring
- 19:52Speaker 3: the most butts in the seats and have a top
- 19:54Speaker 3: five hitting season in Juan Soto. And then they're like,
- 19:58Speaker 3: even though we still have money, we're gonna go shop
- 20:01Speaker 3: at the thrift store and hope we find something in pictures,
- 20:04Speaker 3: all big league pictures. But you gotta have horses. You
- 20:08Speaker 3: can't hope and wish on your pitching, on your rotation.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Crats.
- 20:15Speaker 1: Let's talk about Omaha steaks. And it's not just steaks.
- 20:18Speaker 1: It's chicken winnings, it's smash burgers, big Deli style franks.
- 20:23Speaker 1: There are a number of categories that you can hit
- 20:26Speaker 1: all in one place. They've been doing it for a
- 20:28Speaker 1: long time. They're the best of the biz. And if
- 20:29Speaker 1: you got a good full a life's good, man.
- 20:32Speaker 2: But you gotta finish every meal with some delectable desserts too.
- 20:36Speaker 2: They have those too to go along with these delicious steaks.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Mm hmm. Apple caramel tarts on the list among many
- 20:43Speaker 1: other menu items to check out. Be the hero that
- 20:47Speaker 1: orders Omaha Steaks and is the most popular person in

- 21:11Speaker 1: code foul at checkout sea site for details. Hey, this
- 21:16Speaker 1: one stood out to me. So vangraft does all kinds
- 21:19Speaker 1: of odds and percentages. Let's look at their numbers for
- 21:22Speaker 1: highest World Series winning odds. The Mariners jumped to the
- 21:28Speaker 1: top eighteen point one percent for the podcast crowd listening.
- 21:32Speaker 1: I'll give you the top five Dodgers fourteen point eight,
- 21:34Speaker 1: Yankees eleven point five, Philly's eleven point two, Blue Jay's
- 21:37Speaker 1: nine point eight. Are you surprised DJ Mariners at the top.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but they're playing well right now. They're swinging
- 21:46Speaker 2: the batt well, they made some moves at the trade deadline.
- 21:47Speaker 2: They're pitching is pretty good. So yeah, I'm I surprise, Yes,
- 21:51Speaker 2: But they're also probably looking at a weaker American league
- 21:54Speaker 2: thinking they got a great chance to get there, and
- 21:55Speaker 2: if they get there, they anything can happen.
- 21:57Speaker 1: Right. Their path could be easy or should be easier
- 22:01Speaker 1: than the National League path. Right, And you always.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Say if they're going to get to Cleveland or Detroit, right,
- 22:07Speaker 2: possibly first round.
- 22:08Speaker 1: And you always say, hey, starting pitching generally is very
- 22:13Speaker 1: much needed here. I mean, did the Mariners not have
- 22:17Speaker 1: at the very least the top two or three starting
- 22:19Speaker 1: staff in baseball for the playoffs? I know you guys
- 22:23Speaker 1: talked last week. Hey, I listened to every word last
- 22:24Speaker 1: week about the Dodgers, But the Mariners are right up
- 22:27Speaker 1: there too for a postseason staff.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean they're talking about ceilings.
- 22:33Speaker 3: That's what you're talking about in the playoffs. What kind
- 22:35Speaker 3: of ceiling can this guy give you? Like, what's the
- 22:38Speaker 3: best outing he could give you, no matter what happened
- 22:40Speaker 3: during the season. And the Mariners are right up there,
- 22:43Speaker 3: losing WU.
- 22:45Speaker 4: That's pig that hurts.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Better than box scores. Let's spend a few minutes on
- 22:59Speaker 1: the big Mariners Astros series from the weekend. So Houston
- 23:03Speaker 1: had essentially just ended the postseason chances for Texas right now,
- 23:08Speaker 1: they're really done done or the Martlins really took out
- 23:12Speaker 1: Texas over the weekend too. But we're looking at Houston like, oh,
- 23:15Speaker 1: it's the Astros. You know, they're going through it a
- 23:16Speaker 1: little bit at the end of the year, but they'll
- 23:18Speaker 1: be okay. And they did that without Yourdan who got
- 23:20Speaker 1: hurt early on in that series. They line up the
- 23:21Speaker 1: pitching aj and they got completely outclassed by the Mariners.
- 23:26Speaker 1: They trailed the entire series. It was not really close, right,
- 23:31Speaker 1: I guess the closest game you could look at was Saturday,
- 23:35Speaker 1: which had one of the most memorable catches maybe in
- 23:39Speaker 1: franchise history. Victor Roeblase makes the diving catch and then
- 23:42Speaker 1: they end up doubling up the Astros and winning the
- 23:44Speaker 1: game six'. Four otherwise that one could have been. Tied
- 23:47Speaker 1: so you add everything, UP i, mean that is a
- 23:49Speaker 1: perfect weekend For. Seattle not to mention Cal Raley now
- 23:53Speaker 1: at fifty eight, homers which we'll talk about coming up
- 23:55Speaker 1: in this segment as well to see how many he finishes.
- 23:57Speaker 1: At but how impressive was this For seattle and how
- 24:02Speaker 1: much you like their chances of not just making the
- 24:04Speaker 1: playoffs now and winning the division, here which nobody's done
- 24:08Speaker 1: besides with The astros in like nine, years but actually
- 24:11Speaker 1: being able to make a run here Through. October, well they.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Can definitely make a run more likely going to get
- 24:16Speaker 2: a bye too in the first, round so they're gonna
- 24:18Speaker 2: be able to line everything up for a team coming,
- 24:19Speaker 2: in whether It's, Cleveland, detroit Or, houston and that's going
- 24:25Speaker 2: to have to use all their, pitching so they're gonna
- 24:27Speaker 2: they should now, listen The mariners should win that series
- 24:31Speaker 2: and then get to the next. Round whether and then
- 24:32Speaker 2: whether that's against The yankees or The Blue jays or
- 24:37Speaker 2: The Red, sox that's a different. Question but The mariners
- 24:40Speaker 2: are set up nicely because winning this division really puts
- 24:42Speaker 2: them in an advantage because at the two, seed you
- 24:45Speaker 2: get the time, off and everyone, say, oh they get
- 24:47Speaker 2: the time. Off, no they can line everyone, up they
- 24:49Speaker 2: can get everyone back, healthy and they should be they
- 24:52Speaker 2: should be favored to win THE ds and get to
- 24:54Speaker 2: the at least THE. Lcs, YEAH i think they're very well.
- 25:00Speaker 2: UP i said On, FRIDAY i thought The mariners were
- 25:02Speaker 2: going to take two or. Three but, AGAIN i wouldn't
- 25:05Speaker 2: be surprised if The astros had swept. THEM i didn't
- 25:08Speaker 2: see The mariner sweeping The, astros and that really puts
- 25:12Speaker 2: them in a different. Situation you talk about being able
- 25:16Speaker 2: to get that you, know those days, off.
- 25:20Speaker 3: You can set your. Rotation where does that give? You
- 25:23Speaker 3: that gives everybody that needs a breather that. REST i,
- 25:28Speaker 3: MEAN i think it set them up for a really good,
- 25:31Speaker 3: run especially right out of the, gate being able to
- 25:35Speaker 3: have the guys they want to match up against the
- 25:38Speaker 3: team that they're going to play.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Against and, yes we'll stay tuned on what's going on
- 25:44Speaker 1: With Brian. Wu it's, uh pectoral. Inflammation never heard yet
- 25:50Speaker 1: on what they're going to. Do never heard of that pectoral.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Inflammation so he is an.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Inflame so they're trying to tell us that the peck
- 26:01Speaker 3: is not. Torn he just has inflammation in his. Peck shoulder,
- 26:07Speaker 3: inflammation elbow, inflammation not peck.
- 26:12Speaker 1: Inflammation have you heard of peck?
- 26:15Speaker 2: INFLAMMATION i Mean i've heard of sore shoulders and sore
- 26:19Speaker 2: blats and sore. EVERYTHING i can't even get a sore.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Peck guys in football chail their peck all the.
- 26:23Speaker 4: Time.
- 26:24Speaker 2: Yeah, ah sore or inflamed to me is different than,
- 26:29Speaker 2: torn because if it's, torn that is not. Good so
- 26:33Speaker 2: that's Why I'M.
- 26:36Speaker 1: I don't, know, Right you're you're cautiously keeping an eye
- 26:42Speaker 1: on this WHEN i get what you're. Saying, also sometimes
- 26:45Speaker 1: when inflammation, clears you're able to see what the real issue,
- 26:48Speaker 1: is and that could be a. Problem but, yeah we'll.
- 26:51Speaker 1: SEE i, mean the good news for them is they
- 26:53Speaker 1: should be able to cruise through the final week here
- 26:57Speaker 1: with a little less pressure like in the. Playoffs at this,
- 27:01Speaker 1: point there are a few games clear Of, houston they
- 27:03Speaker 1: won the season. Series they should be making the division
- 27:06Speaker 1: title a thing at this. Point but will they have
- 27:11Speaker 1: The gilbert Wu kirby top?
- 27:13Speaker 2: Three, Castillo, yeah And.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Castillo And miller are there, too but they have a
- 27:19Speaker 1: clear cut top. Three don't you think with those.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Three hasn't been great.
- 27:25Speaker 1: For the. Year, yeah, YEAH i MEAN i feel like
- 27:28Speaker 1: he's that's a brilliant starts, lately though he's been a
- 27:30Speaker 1: strikeout machine. Lately no, No, YEAH i.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Mean, listen who is the guy they need because he's
- 27:36Speaker 2: been their best pitcher by. Far. Yep and then their
- 27:38Speaker 2: bullpen is. Fine their bullpen's been. Good but you, know
- 27:42Speaker 2: getting home field advantage for them is a big deal
- 27:44Speaker 2: because then they don't have to. Travel they don't have
- 27:46Speaker 2: to travel, east And east has been a.
- 27:47Speaker 1: PROBLEM i guess you're right With. Kirby, Also i'm.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Hoping to go To seattle because The bucks play The
- 27:52Speaker 2: seahawks On, sunday well that, series and HOPEFULLY i can
- 27:55Speaker 2: be on the field for that game Because i'm thinking
- 27:57Speaker 2: our game will start till later on that, day and
- 27:59Speaker 2: THEN i can go to the one O'clock seahawks, game
- 28:01Speaker 2: which is right next To safeco T. Mobile you're PROBABLY
- 28:05Speaker 2: i can be the ball boy for the first half
- 28:07Speaker 2: and then go to our.
- 28:07Speaker 1: Game you're gonna pull off the double.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Hadder i'm gonna try, it un do.
- 28:11Speaker 1: IT i like. It you're right, On. Kirby Like i'm
- 28:15Speaker 1: thinking of the start on the fourteenth against The. Angels
- 28:18Speaker 1: fourteenth strike at six and the, Third but you, know
- 28:20Speaker 1: earlier in the month he had two. Clunkers that's why
- 28:22Speaker 1: he's got it close to. Six ara in the, month
- 28:24Speaker 1: but last couple starts have been really good for. Him
- 28:28Speaker 1: they manhandled, them and also we saw some nice power
- 28:31Speaker 1: in big. Moments looking At sunday for, EXAMPLE Jp crawford
- 28:35Speaker 1: with The Grand slam early, On Jason alexander leaving a
- 28:40Speaker 1: pitch middle middle for him to, smash and Then Kyle
- 28:42Speaker 1: rally with the fifty eighth home runner of this season
- 28:45Speaker 1: off the change. Up so we had the two homer
- 28:47Speaker 1: game what in case earlier in the. Week so we're
- 28:49Speaker 1: at fifty, eight six games to go for The. Mariners
- 28:54Speaker 1: give me a, number how many home runs does Cal
- 28:57Speaker 1: raley finished? With and we know he's gonna play every
- 28:59Speaker 1: game to end the, year, Right they're not going to
- 29:01Speaker 1: give him a day. Off let's make sure he's rested
- 29:04Speaker 1: and ready to go for the. Playoffs do you agree
- 29:06Speaker 1: that he'll he'll at least get at bats in every.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Game he MIGHT dh in a couple games just to
- 29:12Speaker 1: make sure he's fresh and ready For. October but he's
- 29:14Speaker 1: playing on all Six you guys are, catchers, right if
- 29:16Speaker 1: you're in cal, situations he's going to get AB's in
- 29:19Speaker 1: all six, games, Right, okay where we.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Are, at don't change. It that's what he's.
- 29:24Speaker 1: DONE i know What i'm. Saying it's the last week
- 29:26Speaker 1: of the. Season they might have some meaningless last couple.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Games sometimes teams will rest players in the last game.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Too they're not going to do that with what's going on,
- 29:34Speaker 1: here right he gets sixty, okay, sixty.
- 29:41Speaker 2: He's the next three. Games he might sixty five in
- 29:44Speaker 2: the next three. Games that's What i'm.
- 29:45Speaker 1: SAYING i, mean he has a chance to Beat judge's.
- 29:48Speaker 1: Record he's four away from sixty. Two it's not. Impossible
- 29:52Speaker 1: RUNS i know he goes sixty one him And Roger
- 30:03Speaker 1: yep sixty one. Homers it's.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Amazing can we talk about the fact that The astros
- 30:10Speaker 2: we talked a lot about The mariners being. Awesome The
- 30:12Speaker 2: astros didn't hit very. Much second.
- 30:15Speaker 3: GAME i think they had ten. Hits first, game they had.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Three the last, Game Zach cole hit the. Dinger altuve
- 30:23Speaker 3: had the base. Hit but is their offense even enough
- 30:27Speaker 3: to give them anything in the? POSTSEASON i mean eastak.
- 30:31Speaker 3: PARADES i think he struck out four or five times
- 30:36Speaker 3: in his three. Games he did get a hit in
- 30:39Speaker 3: the last, game drove a run in and walked one.
- 30:42Speaker 3: Time like you, like can you afford to have a
- 30:47Speaker 3: guy who. Win he's on, first it may take three
- 30:50Speaker 3: hits to score them if you're not driving the ball
- 30:53Speaker 3: at the.
- 30:53Speaker 2: Ballpark as a, team.
- 30:56Speaker 1: The astros are probably the most banged up team in
- 30:59Speaker 1: baall this. Year most there are many, teams, Right like
- 31:03Speaker 1: remember The orioles, owner like a couple months, ago is, like, oh,
- 31:06Speaker 1: well you, know, injuries and that's Why i'm, like there's
- 31:08Speaker 1: plenty of teams dealing with injuries much more than your. Team,
- 31:11Speaker 1: okay But houston no Jord on for most of the,
- 31:16Speaker 1: Year krats is talking about them Kneeding paradis down the.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Stretch he's playing on one. Leg Jeremy payna actually just
- 31:22Speaker 1: reaggravated an. Injury what was that On? Saturday the oblique he?
- 31:27Speaker 2: Pulled, yeah he got pulled From sunday's game before the game,
- 31:32Speaker 2: started so he heard it On.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Saturday they've lost a ton of. Pitchers hater's not in
- 31:37Speaker 1: here right, now and they are holding. On Zach cole
- 31:40Speaker 1: is like saving the. Day they've gone through a.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Lot they might not have the most, injuries but they
- 31:49Speaker 3: have the most injuries to massive. Players do you Think
- 31:53Speaker 3: jordan's a top five hitter in the game like he's
- 31:57Speaker 3: been out essentially the whole. Year paradis Was lee in
- 32:00Speaker 3: the team and home runs when he got. Hurt he's
- 32:03Speaker 3: been out for the last what was it a month
- 32:06Speaker 3: and a, half two months like that's it has some
- 32:09Speaker 3: big names go down and yet they're still right in.
- 32:12Speaker 1: It. Yep so we'll see they're knocked out of the top.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Spot it doesn't look like they're going to take The Al,
- 32:18Speaker 1: west but now they have to finish strong enough to
- 32:20Speaker 1: take a wild card. Seat Tod, Father you and me
- 32:25Speaker 1: grew up In. Jersey we liked to collect, cards but
- 32:28Speaker 1: the way the process got was. Ridiculous you open up a,
- 32:34Speaker 1: pack there's a bunch of cards you don't care. About
- 32:36Speaker 1: then you want to get certain ones graded takes forever,
- 32:39Speaker 1: right then you want to maybe sell. One it's such
- 32:42Speaker 1: a to. Do arena club has been the solution for.
- 32:44Speaker 5: Us arena club has been a solution for. Everybody you go,
- 32:48Speaker 5: online go To Arena club and you check out what they,
- 32:50Speaker 5: have put a little cash. Down you might get one
- 32:53Speaker 5: of the best cards that you've ever seen in your
- 32:55Speaker 5: life and autograph card and guess, what if you don't
- 32:58Speaker 5: like the, card easily sell it. Back and make a little.
- 33:01Speaker 5: Cash you never know what to. Expect it's a cool
- 33:03Speaker 5: way of doing. It you're gonna get a surprise every.
- 33:05Speaker 5: Time and if you're in the, cards this is something
- 33:07Speaker 5: you really need to get into right.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Now you can get twenty percent off your first slap
- 33:11Speaker 1: pack or card purchase by going to arenaclub dot, com
- 33:14Speaker 1: slash foul and use code foul Like Todd father is talking.
- 33:17Speaker 1: About with those slap, packs every pack is a grail
- 33:20Speaker 1: that's at least twenty x the price of the. Pack
- 33:23Speaker 1: check it. Out hey we're. Back Blue jays have had
- 33:26Speaker 1: a mad, week but it's actually a very happy week
- 33:29Speaker 1: since they clinched a playoff spot and not many people
- 33:31Speaker 1: had them even making the playoffs this year after a
- 33:34Speaker 1: rough past couple. Seasons they clinched first team to do
- 33:38Speaker 1: so in The American. League first team to ninety wins
- 33:40Speaker 1: in The American, league and it looks LIKE aj they're
- 33:43Speaker 1: on a path to have the best record in The American.
- 33:45Speaker 2: League, well they should have the best record in The
- 33:47Speaker 2: American league and they're gonna they should win this. Division
- 33:49Speaker 2: they're up too with six to. PLAY i don't know
- 33:52Speaker 2: what the tiebreaker is in that, either so it's just
- 33:55Speaker 2: too many tie.
- 33:55Speaker 1: Breakers, NOWADAY i think they have it over The, yanks.
- 33:57Speaker 2: The, yankees and they're three up for six to. PLAY
- 33:59Speaker 2: i mean they know they'd have to go one in
- 34:01Speaker 2: five or zero to six basically for The yankees that
- 34:03Speaker 2: really get. There, yeah The legs are a good. Team
- 34:06Speaker 2: they can, pitch they can, hit they get big. Hits
- 34:08Speaker 2: they need. Some you, know they're trying to figure out their.
- 34:11Speaker 2: Bullpen they've been a good, year good team all, year
- 34:14Speaker 2: and they're in a good spot and they're going to
- 34:16Speaker 2: host all the way. Through they should in The American,
- 34:18Speaker 2: league and that's pretty awesome For toronto team especially they
- 34:21Speaker 2: get to play in that in The Rogers.
- 34:23Speaker 1: CENTER i think sometimes we look at bullpens and we're.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Worried but then if this team has two three guys
- 34:28Speaker 1: that can pitch out of the bullpen that don't during
- 34:30Speaker 1: the regular, season it could change, things, Right it could
- 34:32Speaker 1: be a completely different looking. TEAM i watched The Old
- 34:34Speaker 1: Tray's savage the other. Day sign me up for. That
- 34:39Speaker 1: we do have a tweet THAT i don't really, understand
- 34:42Speaker 1: but we could still show it since it gets really
- 34:45Speaker 1: matthy for. Me Annie helbern par The padres AND mlb
- 34:51Speaker 1: from this is from, yesterday. Right, yeah with The padres win,
- 34:55Speaker 1: today The reds win and The mets, loss The padres
- 34:58Speaker 1: can still clinch a postseason birth with a win Against
- 35:00Speaker 1: milwaukee On, monday and the event of the three way
- 35:02Speaker 1: tight eighty six wins Between, Padres, reds And, mets that's
- 35:05Speaker 1: not gonna. Happen padres have to lose a ton then
- 35:07Speaker 1: the five seed To, cincinnati six seed To San Diego
- 35:09Speaker 1: mets would be. Eliminated so there's all these tiebreaker scenarios
- 35:12Speaker 1: that are popping. Up the real ONE i want to
- 35:14Speaker 1: know about more is Is, Mets, Diamondbacks reds if they
- 35:19Speaker 1: all finished with the same. Record you guys always ask
- 35:23Speaker 1: me questions THAT i don't know the answer. Too i'm
- 35:25Speaker 1: assuming you guys don't know the answer to that one.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Yet the tiebreakers for those, THREE.
- 35:31Speaker 3: I don't know about those, Three BUT i thought they, said,
- 35:34Speaker 3: YEAH i thought The diamondbacks were still in the whole
- 35:38Speaker 3: intra division, thing so they have to finish their games with,
- 35:44Speaker 3: yeah the rest of their games for the rest of the,
- 35:46Speaker 3: season and it's intra. Division so how The diamondbacks do
- 35:50Speaker 3: against their division and the Tiebreaker mets and.
- 35:55Speaker 1: The reds have the, edge, okay but.
- 35:57Speaker 3: The diamondbacks and The mets' has been.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Decided, Correct it's. Tied.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Wow give a little cheers to some veterans who did
- 36:09Speaker 1: things over the. Weekend Nolan, ironatto first of, all probably
- 36:13Speaker 1: played his last game In Saint. Louis ALTHOUGH i feel
- 36:15Speaker 1: like they're talking about it as if it's a done.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Deal they let him start the game and then come
- 36:21Speaker 1: out and get the applause from. Fans it's not a done. Deal,
- 36:25Speaker 1: no it is a. Deal but he still has how
- 36:27Speaker 1: many years left? TOO i think on his.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Contract there's no way they can bring him.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Back but what if they come up to him and they're, like, hey,
- 36:35Speaker 1: dude our best and only deal is to The Sacramento
- 36:39Speaker 1: as you're gonna say, no.
- 36:41Speaker 2: They, say we're not playing.
- 36:42Speaker 1: It so they'll just bention, them or they will they
- 36:46Speaker 1: pay him. Out it's not easy to trade a player like.
- 36:49Speaker 1: This based on the. Contract it's not two more. Years
- 36:54Speaker 1: so they said. Goodbye they gave him a nice. Goodbye
- 36:56Speaker 1: he has a no trade clause and the teams that
- 37:00Speaker 1: he wants to go to might not want, him. RIGHT i,
- 37:02Speaker 1: mean he's always dreaming about going to The. Dodgers he's
- 37:04Speaker 1: not to The.
- 37:05Speaker 2: DODGERS i don't know why they did. This it was.
- 37:08Speaker 1: Weird that's Why i'm bringing it.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Up unless they JUST, dfam WHICH i don't know The
- 37:12Speaker 2: cardinals are going to do because two Years i'm, SAYING
- 37:16Speaker 2: i don't.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Know do you think The cardinals are doing?
- 37:19Speaker 2: THAT i. Don't but they also want they want runways
- 37:22Speaker 2: for their young kids to. Play so LISTEN heimblm Traded
- 37:24Speaker 2: Mookie betts a one, time he can figure out a
- 37:26Speaker 2: way to Trade. Arnado.
- 37:27Speaker 1: Yeah ALSO i do want to say he's Still.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Listen they might have to trade him and eat some,
- 37:30Speaker 2: money a bunch of, Money.
- 37:31Speaker 1: That's What i'm. Saying they're gonna have to but they
- 37:33Speaker 1: might have to eat like eighty five percent of the.
- 37:36Speaker 1: Contract he's still a major league, player but teams know.
- 37:41Speaker 1: IT i, agree he's still a major league. Player like
- 37:43Speaker 1: he has not had a great year and he's been
- 37:45Speaker 1: in your half, year, right but still is he a
- 37:49Speaker 1: major league? PLAYER i think he, is BUT i don't
- 37:52Speaker 1: know if He's is he a first division third basement
- 37:55Speaker 1: like for a you, know a top five to seven,
- 37:57Speaker 1: team not necessarily and if he wants to, go but
- 38:00Speaker 1: he hasn't hidden that there's no chance yet he still
- 38:04Speaker 1: got at least a year left And Max munsey is
- 38:07Speaker 1: arguably the most valuable player in the. Lineup so do
- 38:12Speaker 1: you think it WAS i don't want to say weird,
- 38:14Speaker 1: krats but it's not an easy guy to.
- 38:18Speaker 3: Trade you're saying maybe they didn't read the room and
- 38:22Speaker 3: they got the cart before the, horse there by giving
- 38:25Speaker 3: the whole, like, hey you'll start the, game you won't
- 38:28Speaker 3: even get in that, bat and we'll pull you off
- 38:30Speaker 3: the field kind of.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Thing we did this last? Year did we not do
- 38:34Speaker 1: this last? Year we're in the, Offseason we're, like, oh,
- 38:36Speaker 1: well he's definitely getting.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Dealt he did it though he just said, no, Right.
- 38:41Speaker 1: So that could happen, again and it could be to
- 38:43Speaker 1: a place where he is really not interested in, going
- 38:45Speaker 1: and then it gets awkward again and he's, LIKE i
- 38:46Speaker 1: want to go, here and they're, like well they don't want.
- 38:48Speaker 2: You is he better than Kee Brian hayes?
- 38:53Speaker 6: Uh?
- 38:55Speaker 1: Similar Key brian has the significant advantage at this point on.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Defense And i'd still rather take No owen's.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Bat, Okay so that's how much money The cardinals are
- 39:06Speaker 3: gonna have to. Eat i'm not sure where the where The.
- 39:09Speaker 2: Rockies money is coming in? There eight million a? Year
- 39:15Speaker 2: do you want eight million a year For Nolan aernata.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Three to five? Mil that's what we're talking, about all,
- 39:21Speaker 1: Right but we can do this in the off. SEASON
- 39:22Speaker 1: i just thought it was worth pointing out that it
- 39:25Speaker 1: could get awkward again In Saint louis because it did
- 39:27Speaker 1: for the past. Year we're gonna try to Get nolan on.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Soon i've been talking to him for like a year.
- 39:31Speaker 1: Now to line it, up we have a tweet on
- 39:33Speaker 1: The mets. Roster we can show. It you can go
- 39:36Speaker 1: right to. It you saw me. SQUINTING i couldn't see.
- 39:40Speaker 1: It that's active. Roster do you know what the number?
- 39:44Speaker 1: Is have you? Ellen now you see it on the.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Screen that's how much The nets active roster. Makes twenty
- 39:49Speaker 1: eight million. Dollars The mets active roster makes two hundred
- 39:52Speaker 1: and forty six million. Dollars but you know what aj
- 40:00Speaker 1: when you look at the sport at the start of the,
- 40:01Speaker 1: year all you have to do is rack up the
- 40:03Speaker 1: payrolls and that's exactly how the season plays.
- 40:06Speaker 2: Out that's what people. Said rogers were never going to
- 40:10Speaker 2: lose a. Game they had Rookie, sazaki who has been
- 40:11Speaker 2: a complete non. Factor, yep you know they Signed Tanner.
- 40:17Speaker 2: Scott he hasn't been good for. Him there's a lot
- 40:20Speaker 2: of things you can look. At The astros have a
- 40:21Speaker 2: really high payroll over The. Mariners mariners were going to
- 40:24Speaker 2: be any good and know they are going to be
- 40:25Speaker 2: the probably the two seed in The. Ale so it doesn't.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Matter no fair that The mets get Wan, soa who
- 40:31Speaker 1: has had a strong. Year his numbers are similar to
- 40:33Speaker 1: what he always puts. Up forty two home runs is
- 40:35Speaker 1: a career high for. Him if they don't have, him
- 40:38Speaker 1: where would they. Be it'd be terrible this.
- 40:42Speaker 2: Year, no, YEAH i mean they've gotten a lot from their.
- 40:48Speaker 3: Bats my buddy who's A mets, fan you know He
- 40:52Speaker 3: lindor's got one hundred and twenty five, runs one hundred,
- 40:54Speaker 3: stakes nimo twenty five close twenty five, homers close to
- 40:58Speaker 3: one hundred. RBIs they just weren't, together weren't hitting Together Without,
- 41:02Speaker 3: Soto sodo hasn't pitched an inning on the. Mound that's
- 41:07Speaker 3: what they. Need so you're talking about The, mets but
- 41:10Speaker 3: this is like the this is the quintessential season where
- 41:14Speaker 3: they brought out the, oh we need salary, cap and
- 41:17Speaker 3: the season went clearly we don't need salary. Cap we
- 41:20Speaker 3: just need teams that go out there to do what
- 41:23Speaker 3: they can to win the.
- 41:24Speaker 2: Games it's. Parody we have parody without a.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Deal it is. Beautiful baseball has the best. PARODY i
- 41:31Speaker 1: don't think it's. Close carlos mendo is A mets manager
- 41:33Speaker 1: joining us. Tomorrow i'm excited about.
- 41:36Speaker 2: That i'll be.
- 41:38Speaker 1: Honest, Yeah and my ultimate respect level is always for
- 41:43Speaker 1: guys that join us when they're significant. Adversity it could
- 41:47Speaker 1: be a manager like, this it could be a player
- 41:49Speaker 1: going through an. Injury, Right so, anyway looking forward to, that.
- 41:53Speaker 7: Do you understand why you haven't been playing as much
- 41:55Speaker 7: as You, NORMAN.
- 41:57Speaker 8: I don't really talk to a lobb all that, often
- 41:59Speaker 8: so that's just THE i play whenever he tells me to,
- 42:05Speaker 8: play AND i say it whenever he tells me to.
- 42:07Speaker 8: Sit so you, know if The cushes Or rob don't
- 42:11Speaker 8: sit down and explain to you what kind of what
- 42:15Speaker 8: they want you to do in whatever role they want you.
- 42:17Speaker 4: To, have.
- 42:19Speaker 8: Communication over the years has been, questionable at least in my,
- 42:25Speaker 8: experience but ALSO i grew up communicating with somebody like my,
- 42:28Speaker 8: father which is very, blunt direct and.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Consistent, okay so That's Nick castianos of The phillies saying
- 42:36Speaker 1: that there has not been much communication with his, Manager Rob.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Thompson this has been an Interesting you remember he was
- 42:42Speaker 1: sat for a game for some comments about being sat for.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Defense let's get the perspective of Manager Rob thompson as
- 42:52Speaker 1: far as.
- 42:53Speaker 7: The communication part of. It not only, that but anybody
- 42:56Speaker 7: else in that clubhouse doesn't think That i'm commune the,
- 43:00Speaker 7: King i'm enough with. Them i'm probably, not AND i
- 43:02Speaker 7: gotta do a better. Job it's just being an. Account
- 43:06Speaker 7: but there's two ways of, communicating and that door is always.
- 43:11Speaker 7: Open And i'm not a mind. READER i can't tell the.
- 43:14Speaker 4: Future i'm not a mind.
- 43:15Speaker 8: Reader so you, KNOW i urge.
- 43:19Speaker 7: PLAYERS i want players to community and tell me what
- 43:23Speaker 7: someone in.
- 43:23Speaker 4: Mind so.
- 43:26Speaker 7: But, YEAH i OBVIOUSLY i have to do a better.
- 43:28Speaker 7: Job did you tell him, That, yes.
- 43:31Speaker 8: You said That he's done that, Right LIKE i, mean
- 43:33Speaker 8: didn't you say that there.
- 43:34Speaker 7: Was like a conversation before the serious In New?
- 43:36Speaker 8: YORK i, mean is that, common like you, know for
- 43:39Speaker 8: in this stretch for him where he might, say.
- 43:42Speaker 4: Hey what do you got for me this.
- 43:43Speaker 7: Series, no it hasn't happened. Lately but you, know but,
- 43:49Speaker 7: again if you guys, FRUSTRATED i want to, community.
- 43:55Speaker 1: Where do you stand on this?
- 43:56Speaker 2: One it's all both of them as far As i'm.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Concerned If Rob thompson can say and he could come,
- 44:04Speaker 2: in we could also go get him and bring him
- 44:06Speaker 2: in and have a conversation with. HIM i, Mean Nick
- 44:08Speaker 2: castianos is saying he's used to this different conversations where
- 44:12Speaker 2: you can go and. Listen nick is very. Honest nick
- 44:14Speaker 2: is very. Blunt nick is very. Upfront if you Ask
- 44:16Speaker 2: nick a, Question he's going to give you a real.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Answer so the guy asked him. Question, ALSO i want
- 44:20Speaker 2: to say, This Nick castianos said his two hundred and
- 44:22Speaker 2: fiftieth Career homer and the reporters were going after him
- 44:24Speaker 2: about some crazy. Stuff so, like let's just let the
- 44:27Speaker 2: guy be. Himself and you, know he's probably, frustrated, sure
- 44:30Speaker 2: but at the same time they're you, know he's doing
- 44:33Speaker 2: everything he can and they're trying to win a world.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Series so the fact that they're stirring this up just
- 44:38Speaker 2: seems like it's. Unnecessary But i'm not there every. DAY
- 44:41Speaker 2: i don't, Know but you, know both of them could
- 44:43Speaker 2: just go talk to each other and probably get this
- 44:45Speaker 2: handled pretty. Quickly we'll.
- 44:46Speaker 3: See you would think that they wouldn't hash us out
- 44:52Speaker 3: through the, Media BUT i don't know. THAT i don't
- 44:55Speaker 3: know That nick's ever been in this situation. Either nick
- 44:57Speaker 3: played what like four hundred and sixty three straight games
- 45:00Speaker 3: before he got sat for what he had. Said there's
- 45:04Speaker 3: clearly some type of divide in his relationship And rob's.
- 45:08Speaker 3: Relationship nick said after all the, badgering he was badgered,
- 45:12Speaker 3: postgame he was badgered postgame in the.
- 45:15Speaker 2: Locker, room like after a memorable night hitting his two
- 45:21Speaker 2: hundred and fiftieth home, Run he's, like we want to
- 45:25Speaker 2: win A World? Series why are? We why are we
- 45:26Speaker 2: asking all these? Questions SO i think it's it was
- 45:29Speaker 2: probably frustration that boiled over for him to say, it
- 45:32Speaker 2: but it's also honest, talk excuse, me honest talk.
- 45:37Speaker 3: That, hey you know what you gotta you gotta kind
- 45:41Speaker 3: of fix this before it gets to the. Media and
- 45:44Speaker 3: this is where you, know it's a little bit of
- 45:46Speaker 3: a riff between those. Two does it make the, Team,
- 45:50Speaker 3: like is a team gonna start losing because of?
- 45:52Speaker 2: This?
- 45:54Speaker 3: No this to, me this team is focused with a
- 45:56Speaker 3: bunch of veterans that want to, win and hopefully When
- 46:00Speaker 3: nick gets in the, game he continues to do what he's. Done,
- 46:03Speaker 3: recently coming off the, bench he's been.
- 46:06Speaker 1: Raking nick, is in my, mind one of the most
- 46:10Speaker 1: interesting players in the sport because of what you. Said
- 46:13Speaker 1: he says, stuff so reporters are going to flop to
- 46:16Speaker 1: him in almost any scenario because they know he says.
- 46:19Speaker 1: Stuff and, sure you could, say, oh reporters just looking
- 46:22Speaker 1: for whatever you want to, say clickbait or some quote
- 46:24Speaker 1: in a, story but also aj the job of the
- 46:27Speaker 1: media is to make the game, Interesting so they're going
- 46:29Speaker 1: up To nick because he's. Interesting, now you can criticize
- 46:32Speaker 1: the way that certain questions are, asked but don't you
- 46:35Speaker 1: think it's part of his. Personality like people enjoy going
- 46:38Speaker 1: up and talking to, him because you go up to
- 46:40Speaker 1: many other players and they're, like blah, blah next, game blah,
- 46:43Speaker 1: blah hundred, percent blah, blah don't watch our sport Because
- 46:45Speaker 1: i'm so. Boring nick's. Fun he's interesting and he just told, Us,
- 46:48Speaker 1: HEY i don't have good communication right now with the.
- 46:50Speaker 1: Manager i'm like, Cool, okay that sounds like real life
- 46:53Speaker 1: how many teammates did you play? With you, Said i'm
- 46:55Speaker 1: not getting along with the. Manager probably a.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Ton, yeah, yeah we've been go in and talk to. Him,
- 47:02Speaker 2: also if you feel this, strongly you can always walk
- 47:04Speaker 2: in there and have a. Conversation so, AGAIN i think
- 47:07Speaker 2: this is on both of. THEM i Love. NICK i
- 47:09Speaker 2: love talking To. Nick every TIME i do A phillies,
- 47:10Speaker 2: GAME i try to grab a couple of minutes of
- 47:12Speaker 2: his time because he'll be honest with you and give
- 47:14Speaker 2: you how he really, feels AND i appreciate him for.
- 47:15Speaker 2: That rob tops and tries to do the. Same we
- 47:17Speaker 2: have our manager, meeting so this isn't a knock on
- 47:19Speaker 2: either one of. THEM i think they just need to sit,
- 47:21Speaker 2: down maybe go have a dinner or beer and talk
- 47:24Speaker 2: it out and figure this, out because at some Point
- 47:26Speaker 2: Nick castioos is going to be important if they're gonna
- 47:28Speaker 2: win A World series and they need him on the same,
- 47:30Speaker 2: page which he seems like he's. Done SO i don't
- 47:32Speaker 2: feel like this has affected him at, all and it
