The Music Dial · Oct 9, 2026 · 4m

Classic rock, modern country, alternative music and singer-songwriter traditions come together in today’s episode of The Music Dial, with stories connected to October 9.

We celebrate John Lennon, Megan Moroney, John Entwistle, Jackson Browne and PJ Harvey, explore Lennon’s curious connection to the number nine, and move from The Who and California songwriting to one of the strongest new voices in contemporary country.

One date, several generations, and music stretching from Beatle history and classic rock to alternative music and modern country.
