- 0:53Let it try. Let it try.
- 0:57Daddy, I'm so excited, but I have one question. What's your question?

- 1:04Good question. I don't know, but it is all in God's hands. Good morning.
- 1:09You're listening to Have Faith, Let It Begin, and it starts right now.
- 1:14Hello, everyone, and welcome to Have Faith, Let It Begin.
- 1:17Today is Thursday. Holy cow. I can't believe I'm about to say this.
- 1:23It's Thursday, April 17th, 2025.
- 1:28April is half done, and we are just a couple days away from Good Friday and,
- 1:33of course, Easter Sunday, Resurrection Day. Well, I wanted to share a moment with you.
- 1:42Today, you will more than likely see on Facebook, I think they'll post it today,
- 1:47that I did receive an award for Employee of the Month.
- 1:53I've been with the hospital now. It'll be 10 years in May.
- 1:58And very humbling experience. And I'm sitting in the car here,
- 2:02dressed up, ready to go into work.
- 2:04And I wanted to share with you just the history and story of when you... Let me just get into it.
- 2:12So, you know, in 1999, when I started my career in sales, I worked my way up
- 2:19to be an assistant branch manager.
- 2:21I was transferred after that particular location was closing.
- 2:27I took an offer to be transferred to Providence, Rhode Island,
- 2:30and stayed with the company, obviously.
- 2:33And the first two years of the six years in Rhode Island was the most difficult
- 2:38parts of my life, mainly because not only was I dealing with a depression due
- 2:42to a breakup, but I was also dealing with a boss who did not want me there.
- 2:48Overcoming so much adversity and pain, I ended up having to take in four jobs
- 2:55just to make payments due to a, I'm trying to think how I word this.
- 3:03Well basically they stole my identity my ex and you know ran my credit up pretty high.
- 3:10So here i am working four jobs to make sure
- 3:13i never miss a payment which i never did fast forward i decided after six years
- 3:18it was in my best entrance since the company was failing in that state as well
- 3:23to move forward and out of that industry and i went into equity concepts into
- 3:30mortgage and running a call center for the mortgage company.
- 3:33That only lasted about a year and a half before I decided it was my best interest
- 3:37to move back home and go back and finish college, which I had put off for my career.
- 3:42So by the age of 29, 30, I eventually graduated college with a business degree.
- 3:50And while I was in college, I said to myself,
- 3:54no more women, no more anything just i'm gonna take care of myself and i pleased
- 4:00to tell you that that's where i met my girlfriend which became my fiance and now is my wife,
- 4:07And while I was back home, I took on a job at AAA for seven years while also
- 4:15holding a part-time job as a manager,
- 4:17excuse me, as a part-time banker, personal banker for Bank of America,
- 4:22and also working at GameStop on top of that.
- 4:25Yes, I was always working multiple jobs.
- 4:30So after doing all those jobs my original
- 4:33job that transferred me back from Middletown
- 4:37New York all the way to Providence back to Maui New
- 4:41Jersey I took an offer and I left all the other jobs and I decided to go back
- 4:45into management and it was as if I took a step back because when I went into
- 4:51there into that division the managers there were not too keen on me coming in
- 4:56and we just did not see eye to eye.
- 4:58When I knew that cuts were coming, I decided it was in my best interest to look for something else.
- 5:05And one day I saw an advertisement for a switchboard 911 operator.
- 5:10I say 911 because we deal with emergencies for the hospital,
- 5:14which was named at the time ORMC.
- 5:18And on the same day that they let me go.
- 5:23At my job after working with them since 1999
- 5:26on and off in 2000 it was
- 5:29may 12 2015 i was
- 5:33one month exactly away from my wedding day i was laid off and when i got home
- 5:39and cried and got over it and decided to leave my best interest to just put
- 5:44all my energy toward the wedding i checked my voicemail and lo and behold, Nancy Harney,
- 5:50the recruiter at the time of ORMC, called to tell me that I was being offered
- 5:56the position as a switchboard operator.
- 5:59So here we are almost 10 years later working here. I am blessed.
- 6:05And after 10 years of working, I was receiving an award for Employee of the Month.
- 6:12I will get more detailed about that whole process, but I wanted to share with
- 6:18you the message today, and that's never give up.
- 6:21No matter how many times we feel like we fall, no matter how many times we feel
- 6:26like we have to reinvent ourselves or find ourselves or we have to do everything
- 6:32in our power to realize that God is with us,
- 6:37God is in control, and that we also have to take advantage of what's in our
- 6:40control as opposed to what's out of our control,
- 6:43and also take care of our environment and not allow all the negativity that's
- 6:47on the outside of our homes not affect what's happening inside our homes.
- 6:54So today, I'm encouraging all of you to think positive.
- 6:58And if you're having struggles at work, if you're having difficulty realizing
- 7:03where you're gonna be in the next year, six months or whatnot,
- 7:07Concentrate on what's in your control.
- 7:09Concentrate on doing what's right for you and your family.
- 7:12And always put God first. Because I guarantee you, he will see it through.
- 7:17And he will put you on the path of righteousness.
- 7:21That's all I've got for you today. May God be with you. May he shine his light
- 7:25upon you. And grant each and every single one of you peace on earth.
- 7:29And never forget, have faith.
- 7:33Let it begin. See you tomorrow. Thank you for listening to Have Faithful Begins. We'll be back tomorrow.
