- Vince: We made it into August. I think I think not everybody on the the globe was so lucky, right? And some people joined us on the globe, right? Like man, time keeps flying by. It's been seven years of H hour, August first. I celebrated by myself by eating a delicious steak. and just thinking or reflecting and pondering and captured a few critical thoughts. I won't bore you with all of them, but I think the most important one for today's podcast is Number five on my list. Seven seven things I shared via an article, it'll go out of MailChimp, but seven years of H hour or practice at H hour and execution is king, most people know what they need to do. Far fewer actually do it. The difference between good and great leadership is the ability to adapt, weigh probabilities, make quick decisions, and keep moving when things don't go according to plan. And believe me, they will because this is a game of endurance and the mistakes never end as per the rules. This part requires the highest levels of adult maturity and childlike wonder. That last one. This part requires the highest levels of adult maturity and childlike wonder. I think that part is the thing I obsess with quite a bit, right? Playing like an adult, apply your or your rationales and your logic and your emotions and manage those those capacities and capabilities. Do that as an adult, right? The imagination allows you to have that childlike wonder, which is hard to trigger or stimulate, especially in a world where we get a ton of noise to include this podcast. If it's a distraction, delete it on follow, right? and and we're we're at a great season and phase of life. I I'm at a point where now where I'm doing this podcast and like my mom openly told me, like, yeah, I don't I don't know. I listen to once in a while, right? She's like half in, half out. And and it's such a gift, right? Because mom's super busy doing what she does. So I get to focus on me and be selfish and inherently selfish. So you'll see that article go out if you follow our stuff blog, something, if you subscribe to I don't know, you know, the team manages all that, but they do a great job just making sure stuff flows and comes out, or at least sometimes it pops up in my email, and sometimes I think they're being polite and kind and just recircling it back to me so I can believe that it got sent out into the world. But I think execution is king is is the theme for today, and I I don't wanna take too long or too much of anybody's time, but my experience tells me that execution is king, no matter where you go. How it's happening, how you get it done in individual efforts, in collective efforts, in spite of the odds and circumstances, execution is king, right? And the fundamentals or basics that we bring into said environment or situation, that's some of the baggage that we bring in that either takes value from the situation or adds value to the situation. I think what's important to note is that just because somebody's really good at executing in one form or fashion doesn't mean that they're going to be good at the other. I also would say that there's no magic light switch. So think about life in this kind of way. I know we're in the summer, but like football's kinda here. Training camp. It's very rare where somebody's going to do something in training camp, and then all of a sudden they're gonna get to October and when the season is underway, November and it's really underway, we kinda know who's who and what's what. is anybody gonna flip a light switch and become something different? It doesn't work that way. The same thing on the battlefield. generally speaking, you'll hear these these things where people say, that's that soldier is great in garrison, right? They're a dog and pony kind of soldier or warrior or whatever. but that guy right there, he he's amazing in theater and combat. yeah, maybe, maybe not. Yet my experience would say that there's no magic light switch there either. And it's the same thing in the classroom, it's the same thing in business, it's the same thing in family, right? When somebody starts a family, they don't necessarily know what they're doing. And by the time they figure it out, they've kind of raised their family and they realize the big question when it comes down to it is, hey, did I do it out of love? Right. And so if you're doing something that you care for or you care for people that are around you, you're gonna do it to the best of your ability. Ha no matter how innocuous or unimportant the task seems, you do it to the best of your ability, and and things tend to go favorably for you. The good thing for us in the United States of America is we have discernment and we get to pick and choose what games we're gonna play, what games we choose not to play. And you know, that's that's that's called freedom, right? People get to pick and choose what they want to do. But I think execution is king. And I think I'll circle it back into H hour. You know, when when I started journaling and jotting these things down, they were just good ideas. Hey, we're gonna have fun, we're gonna help people, we're gonna make money doing it, on whatever scope and scale. Yet those are just good ideas, right? And then at some point you have to develop the skills and those are the requisite to enter the arena. and I would tell anybody that's out there, picking and choosing what arenas they want to go into, well pick an arena that you want to be in, number one. And number two, is do everything you can to outperform your previous position once you're inside of that arena. The the respect goes to the person that shows up into the arena, right? And you know, the the steps into an arena or a ring or stepping onto the battlefield or into the business room or into the classroom or into a a dinner table when you're dealing with difficult stuff of raising a family. The law requires execution. It's remiss of emotions, what your feelings are. We want to give consideration to the thoughts and the feelings and the emotions and the behaviors. We want to tinker and tailor. Yet I would just say if somebody flips the switch in their mind and they allow them to express the really critical emotion of disgust. with themselves or with the world or others, with the particular situation or circumstance that they're in, it doesn't mean that it's going to end right there and then, but it does mean that it's over. The disgust can be over because you need to start executing another thing. And I think about people that are going on a weight loss journey or they're trying to overcome illness or disease in the physical sense. Or mental and emotional, maybe spiritual, that interconnection. And and something I know from counseling and therapy is you show me a faithless person that says, hey, I don't believe in God, or I believe in dinosaur, I do that, the God, gods, the god, I can assure you that the faithless people have the most difficult time attaining the highest levels of potential. It is not necessarily in the traditional sense of following organized religion, though this guy is a hundred percent follows organized religion religion because I'm not smart enough to do it on my own. I need guidance, right? But let's say somebody's like, hey, I don't do the religion thing. Well, if you're gonna be non-dogmatic about it, you're gonna have to adhere or follow some sort of model somebody came and delivered before you. So the test of faith needs to be applied, right? Intellectually, hey, I have I I'm struggling reading this particular page or learning this content. I gotta read the page again. You might have to read the page ten times to conceptually understand it. I think I have a book back. There somewhere. Effective neuroscience. That I had to read that book like four times to in and make laundry lists of definitions to even begin to consider or conceptualize what it actually looks like in the therapy office, right? Because my clients don't particularly give a crap that I read that book or understand it. How does it apply to their life? And most people don't see themselves as primates, nor should they. Though, I mean it could be argued either way. But I think the faith thing gets tested when we execute, and execution is king. Always will be, it always has been, and that is one hundred percent part of the story that we tell. I think in a a non-intrusive way, I would start with sports because that's my favorite, andor the classroom. But I think when you look at the a odds and the data and who's the players and what's what, it's always gonna come down to who executes. Cause once you get to the arena, everybody's good, everybody's competent, everybody's talented, everybody knows how to do something. Take advantage of others, leverage things in their favor. The best situation that I've noticed in the finance world was Ken Griffin and Citadel swooping in and snatching Leopold's situational awareness was the name of his hedge fund, which is kind of ironic. And they snatched it the day before his wedding. And talking about execution as king, I don't I'm not kind of sure where I got this from, but this is a very reliable person, believable person that used to do these kinds of things. And their statement to me, it's a street guy, he would say, Hey, Somebody owes on the street, it's pretty simple. You show up at their f their weddings, you show up at the mitzfas, you show up at the baptisms, and all of a sudden money starts to appear. I don't know how that works or why it works, but I do know that it's a thing. And in this case, Ken Griffin waited to Leopold in Situational Awareness, was starting to rest and slumber and sleep. And the day before this dude gets married, as his guests are arrived and Ken Griffin Citadel snatches his his his positions for pennies on the dollar. That's how it works, complacency. They you know, and you know, maybe Citadel made a quick statement in in the about the market and the Fed rates and all that stuff a few days before that, but it's competition and it's ruthless and it's cunning and it's high stakes. So execution is king. I don't think it ever ends. And the one part is the last part, which is a troop leading procedure. I think the Marine Corps uses Bamsis, the army uses Remesis. I don't Doubt that the other branches have some form or fashion of troop leading procedure. But the last part is supervise, right? And that never ever, ever, ever ends in leadership, right? You have to check, recheck, trust, but verify. And that never ends at every level of the military and every part of the business. because if you're not executing, at some point that stuff comes to the surface and people will be able to see what is happening. So Until you're executing and demonstrating to the world you have the ability to do so, it's just a good idea. But at this point, H hour is set up for success for the next seven years at a minimum. I would say probably closer to 20 because some of the agreements that we've made. I'm gonna do this for 30, Lord willing. but yeah, execute, execute, execute. And I think our clients demand that. I think anybody that's listening to this realizes that, yeah, Vince is an intense person, but I do counseling specifically in a very serious way and have fun doing it. And I think that allows clients to grow into that relationship. Andor the next version of themselves. Because, right, not only for me as a small business execution king, for my clients, when they go out into the world and they're working through affective disorders or behavioral issues, difficult relationships, phases of life, divorce, job chain, constricting economy based on their previous skill sets, future uncertainty with illness and disease, grief, loss, trauma, whatever the difficult season. whether it is somebody coming off the couch at home and they're unemployed, or that somebody's hooking and jabbing out there in the equity markets, right? The combination. The stresses are all very real. And the quickest way to overcome those things is to engage that really ugly, ugly, gross, gross emotional state of disgust, because you can feel it, right? And then you have an informed decision to make about hey, is execution gonna take precedence right now. It doesn't mean you're gonna win. It doesn't mean the struggle is over, but I do believe you get to inject. If you start executing, you get to inject a little bit of that belief. Okay, I'm struggling a little better than I was yesterday, and maybe I'll struggle a little less tomorrow. And I think that's pretty powerful for the day. But yeah, HR, we're keep executing, doing exactly what we're doing, be really good in the chair, partner with people, and and celebrate. But yeah, disgust. Don't be afraid to write down the thing that disgusts you. And if it's you, do something about it. If it's your spouse, do something about it. If it's your children, do something about it. If there's nothing you can do about it, then don't do anything about it. Yet I would say there's always something that we can do about it, even if it's inside the mind. Cheers. Man, August is here. Get aggressive with whatever you're doing. I'm excited for you. Have a good one.
