Latest / The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show / Hour 2 - Trans Violence is Real
Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, second hour of Clay and Buck kicks off now.
- 0:02Speaker 1: Thank you for being with us, everybody. Just wanted to
- 0:04Speaker 1: tell you, we're going to get back into the swing
- 0:07Speaker 1: of the election here shortly. But we're actually switching gears
- 0:11Speaker 1: for a moment to talk to our friend Andy Ngo.
- 0:14Speaker 1: He is an investigative journalist, New York Times bestselling author
- 0:18Speaker 1: of The Zizians, Inside a Trans Death Cult. And Andy,
- 0:24Speaker 1: you know, I've been familiar with your work now for,
- 0:26Speaker 1: I don't know, about a decade or so. I don't
- 0:29Speaker 1: think anyone in this country has done more to show
- 0:33Speaker 1: what the radical left shock troops. And I mean that
- 0:36Speaker 1: by shock troops, whether it's Black Block Antifa or these
- 0:40Speaker 1: these different protest movements that become incredibly violent, including with you.
- 0:45Speaker 1: No one's done more than you, I think, to expose
- 0:48Speaker 1: that to show, which is why they, of course, target you.
- 0:51Speaker 1: But this era we're in where people like Charlie Kirk
- 0:56Speaker 1: are being murdered for their opposition to trans ideology is
- 1:02Speaker 1: particularly urgent, it feels like right now. And it feels
- 1:05Speaker 1: like we need to dig deeper into what's really going on.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Tell us about the Zizians, the trans death cult you
- 1:11Speaker 1: write about in this book.
- 1:14Speaker 2: So I was recently in Florida, and I was on
- 1:17Speaker 2: Dave Rubin's podcast, and we were talking about how we
- 1:20Speaker 2: met nine years ago. At that time, I was a
- 1:22Speaker 2: student at Portland State University, and there were SJW protests
- 1:27Speaker 2: that were trying to shut down the Dave Rubin event.
- 1:30Speaker 2: And it just made me think of how that movement
- 1:35Speaker 2: has mutated into evolved to what we're seeing now, which
- 1:39Speaker 2: is killing people and maiming people. And I've been documenting
- 1:43Speaker 2: that evolution. Most people know my reporting over the years
- 1:47Speaker 2: on Antifa. And six years ago, when I was still
- 1:50Speaker 2: based in Portland, Oregon, at that time in 2020, during
- 1:53Speaker 2: the BLM Antifa riots, I noticed that disproportionately the suspects
- 1:58Speaker 2: who were being arrested for violent crimes that were being
- 2:02Speaker 2: committed night after night in the name of BLM and
- 2:05Speaker 2: so-called anti-racism, they were disproportionately transgender identifying in some way.
- 2:12Speaker 2: And it was just a note that I put in
- 2:14Speaker 2: the back of my mind. Eventually, I was attacked multiple times,
- 2:19Speaker 2: nearly killed. I've been living in exile, living in England
- 2:23Speaker 2: for a number of years now because of that. And
- 2:26Speaker 2: the individuals that I was able to identify and allege
- 2:29Speaker 2: in a lawsuit as being part of those attacks, half
- 2:32Speaker 2: of them are trans-identifying. So in addition to that, in
- 2:38Speaker 2: the last five years, there's been atrocity after atrocity, mass
- 2:42Speaker 2: shootings committed by trans-identifying individuals. All of this has come.
- 2:46Speaker 3: Together to really provide the.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Context and the background for why I went fully into
- 2:53Speaker 2: investigating a group that has its origins in Silicon Valley,
- 2:57Speaker 2: a trans group, which I later learned was a cult.
- 3:03Speaker 2: and they are linked to at least eight known violent
- 3:06Speaker 2: deaths across the U.S. I don't have a background in
- 3:09Speaker 2: true crime, but the story of the Zizians is quite
- 3:14Speaker 2: impossible to believe in the sense that what they were
- 3:17Speaker 2: able to get away with, how they were able to
- 3:19Speaker 2: exploit sensibilities about transphobia in California to manipulate the courts
- 3:25Speaker 2: to buy them time. Meanwhile, a witness to one of
- 3:29Speaker 2: their alleged violent acts was assassinated, and they kept allegedly
- 3:35Speaker 2: killing people. And this group central to the ideology was transgenderism.
- 3:43Speaker 2: They really believed that they could form a vanguard of
- 3:47Speaker 2: trans-identifying people who could quote-unquote save the world. But in
- 3:50Speaker 2: their minds, saving the world means killing humanity. They really
- 3:54Speaker 2: believed that humans are evil because we eat meat and
- 3:58Speaker 2: consume animals as part of our resources. And so very
- 4:02Speaker 2: few people have heard of the Zizians, but they're emblematic
- 4:06Speaker 2: of this larger trend of trans violence, which I contextualize
- 4:09Speaker 2: in the book. And I chronicle a number of attacks
- 4:13Speaker 2: that have happened and violent incidents involving trans people or
- 4:17Speaker 2: where trans ideology was somehow involved. And this is a
- 4:22Speaker 2: phenomenon that is not slowing down anytime soon.
- 4:27Speaker 4: That's what I was going to ask you.
- 4:28Speaker 5: There have been some reports that sort of this identity
- 4:32Speaker 5: world that we have entered into where people identify at
- 4:36Speaker 5: much higher rates as gay or much higher rates as
- 4:39Speaker 5: trans has been declining and there may have been a
- 4:41Speaker 5: social contagion aspect to it to some degree. Do you
- 4:46Speaker 5: think we have hit peak trans agenda and there's going
- 4:49Speaker 5: to be more of a pushback and more of a
- 4:51Speaker 5: parental understanding that pumping kids full of hormones when they're
- 4:56Speaker 5: 11 or 12 years old is child abuse? Or do
- 4:59Speaker 5: you think this process of the transing of our kids
- 5:04Speaker 5: and the transing of large segments of American society, particularly
- 5:07Speaker 5: on the left, is going to continue?
- 5:11Speaker 2: So as a gay man, I think that the higher
- 5:13Speaker 2: identification we've seen over the last 10 years is It's
- 5:19Speaker 2: not people identifying more as gay, but rather as queer,
- 5:22Speaker 2: which is more of a political ideology, in my opinion,
- 5:25Speaker 2: than a sexual orientation. In the same way that trans
- 5:30Speaker 2: and or non-binary or being gender diverse in some way
- 5:33Speaker 2: does function as a political ideology. We're seeing individuals who
- 5:37Speaker 2: have never, adults, let's say grown men, who throughout their
- 5:41Speaker 2: entire lives had never espoused or shown signs of gender
- 5:46Speaker 2: confusion or gender dysphoria, but then suddenly starting to wear
- 5:50Speaker 2: dresses and wigs. And I think for them, some of them,
- 5:56Speaker 2: That pathway through transgender ideology comes through their sexual paraphilias
- 6:00Speaker 2: and fetishes through the content that they're watching. There's also
- 6:05Speaker 2: an aspect of social contagion, particularly among youths, that may
- 6:09Speaker 2: explain that high identification. We are seeing some new polling
- 6:13Speaker 2: that that number does appear to be tapering slightly now.
- 6:18Speaker 2: And I don't think that's necessarily a full cause for
- 6:22Speaker 2: concern because The language of the trans activists is that
- 6:26Speaker 2: there's an ongoing trans genocide, that legislation is being enacted
- 6:31Speaker 2: at the federal level or at Republican state level that
- 6:35Speaker 2: is meant to erase them. So they're going to use
- 6:39Speaker 2: this data as a rallying point for so-called evidence about
- 6:46Speaker 2: quote-unquote trans genocide to which is very radicalizing, and the
- 6:50Speaker 2: Zizians themselves also believed that there was ongoing transgenocide, which
- 6:54Speaker 2: is why they stockpiled firearms and allegedly used the deadly
- 6:58Speaker 2: weapons to murder people in very brutal ways. So at
- 7:03Speaker 2: the very tail end of this small population, there are
- 7:06Speaker 2: disturbed individuals. That's documented in academic literature, higher rates of
- 7:11Speaker 2: mood and personality disorders, autism spectrum disorder, and then you
- 7:17Speaker 2: introduce a radicalizing ideology, and cross-sex hormones and drugs, that
- 7:24Speaker 2: may explain why we're seeing what we're seeing.
- 7:26Speaker 1: We're speaking to Andy Ngo, his book, which I highly recommend.
- 7:31Speaker 1: Andy's a New York Times bestseller. He knows more about
- 7:33Speaker 1: this stuff than anybody else. The Zizians, Z-I-Z, The Zizians,
- 7:37Speaker 1: Inside a Trans Death Cult. I've got my copy here
- 7:41Speaker 1: in the studio. Andy, You know, my background is CIA
- 7:46Speaker 1: terrorism analysis before I got into media. And as you're
- 7:50Speaker 1: talking and laying this out about this group, the Zizians,
- 7:53Speaker 1: and there are words you're using, and I know you're
- 7:55Speaker 1: using them with intent, words like radicalizing. And we're talking
- 7:59Speaker 1: about violence, violence toward an ideology. What would you say
- 8:03Speaker 1: if I brought you on to Capitol Hill and they
- 8:05Speaker 1: were having hearings, let's say, about whether there should be
- 8:09Speaker 1: an understanding of radical trans ideology as an ideology of terrorism,
- 8:15Speaker 1: similar to, say, jihad and Al Qaeda, similar to what
- 8:19Speaker 1: we see talked about in a whole bunch of other
- 8:22Speaker 1: ideological contexts.
- 8:23Speaker 4: Is this the basis? Is it already a terrorist ideology?
- 8:30Speaker 2: Because this is such a new phenomenon and it takes
- 8:33Speaker 2: investigators time to catch up with things that are happening
- 8:36Speaker 2: in real time. I don't think that, from what I'm
- 8:41Speaker 2: aware of, that federal officials and investigators are.
- 8:48Speaker 3: Only just now being aware.
- 8:49Speaker 1: I know they're not treating it as one, Andy. Do
- 8:51Speaker 1: you think it should be, is my question to you.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Do you think this should be considered a terrorist ideology?
- 8:55Speaker 2: I absolutely do, because if you look at the propaganda
- 9:00Speaker 2: literature that's put out by trans extremist groups, which are
- 9:04Speaker 2: adjacent to the Antifa extremist groups, It's an anti-state ideology.
- 9:09Speaker 2: It's revolutionary. And it's also urging and calling for one
- 9:14Speaker 2: another to stockpile firearms and to learn how to kill people.
- 9:19Speaker 2: There's been an explosion in memberships and trainings of the
- 9:23Speaker 2: use of firearms by trans extremists since Donald Trump was
- 9:27Speaker 2: won in the 24 election. And they're using all this
- 9:32Speaker 2: as evidence of so-called genocide against them. And there's already
- 9:36Speaker 2: been a number of individuals just recently in the last
- 9:39Speaker 2: number of weeks who were part of Trantifa cells, I
- 9:43Speaker 2: would call it, who have been federally charged for allegedly
- 9:47Speaker 2: planning and conspiring anti-government deadly violence.
- 9:52Speaker 4: Let's dive in here.
- 9:53Speaker 5: You mentioned the deadly violence inspired by trans ideology.
- 9:58Speaker 4: How frustrating is it to you?
- 10:00Speaker 5: That instead of having a big national conversation about trans
- 10:04Speaker 5: violence in the wake of Charlie Kirk's assassination by someone
- 10:07Speaker 5: who was dating a trans individual and seems to have
- 10:11Speaker 5: been motivated by radical trans ideology, That is Tyler Robinson,
- 10:16Speaker 5: that instead much of the online right has descended into
- 10:21Speaker 5: a crazy sort of circular firing squad of conspiracies instead
- 10:26Speaker 5: of focusing on the person, in my opinion, that actually
- 10:29Speaker 5: perpetrated the day, the violence and what his motivation was.
- 10:33Speaker 4: How much did we miss the plot here? Missed it hugely.
- 10:38Speaker 2: I think many influential people have been extremely unethical and
- 10:43Speaker 2: irresponsible in propagating hypotheses that are not supported.
- 10:48Speaker 3: By what we know.
- 10:49Speaker 2: I think the alleged evidence that's been put out by
- 10:53Speaker 2: officials in the Tyler Robinson case out of Utah has
- 10:57Speaker 2: been very compelling. And from what we know from officials,
- 11:04Speaker 2: This is sort of the the latest mutation of what
- 11:07Speaker 2: I consider trans violence is not where we're seeing alleged
- 11:13Speaker 2: violent criminals committing who are not trans identifying themselves but
- 11:18Speaker 2: nevertheless reference trans ideology or a need to stop the
- 11:22Speaker 2: hate against trans individuals as Robinson allegedly said to his
- 11:26Speaker 2: family and others that that type of people now emerging
- 11:31Speaker 2: as a source of violence and.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Andy, great work as always. Honestly, you're a very brave
- 11:37Speaker 1: man and what you do is important. And I've been
- 11:39Speaker 1: following your work, as I said, for a long time
- 11:42Speaker 1: and have a tremendous amount of respect for what you've done.
- 11:44Speaker 1: And you really I mean, you actually are an investigative journalist.
- 11:47Speaker 1: There are very few people who do that work and
- 11:49Speaker 1: you do it. And I really hope people will go.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I'm sure it will be chilling, but it's an important read.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Go check out the Zizians inside a trans death cult.
- 11:58Speaker 1: And Andy, keep up the good work and stay safe.
- 12:02Speaker 3: Thank you.

- 13:10Speaker 5: country one liberal at a time.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Welcome back in to Clay and Buck. Obviously, huge, huge
- 13:18Speaker 1: Senate race going on in Michigan. And we have Mike
- 13:24Speaker 1: Rogers going to be joining us here just coming up.
- 13:27Speaker 1: So definitely stick around for that one. I don't think
- 13:29Speaker 1: there's a more nail-biter... you know, white knuckle till the
- 13:36Speaker 1: very end, till the fat lady sings Senate race out there.
- 13:39Speaker 1: I mean, this one is going to be tight. Every
- 13:42Speaker 1: single vote counts. Every single vote is critical. And with
- 13:45Speaker 1: that said, if we're going to save our republic, we
- 13:48Speaker 1: also have to have a smile on our face. And Clay,
- 13:51Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you, podcast listener Catherine with a
- 13:54Speaker 1: K on the talkback list, this is A.
- 13:57Speaker 4: She's putting a smile on my face.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Play it.
- 14:00Speaker 4: I just have to say that every time I watch
- 14:02Speaker 4: you guys live on YouTube, I am so taken aback
- 14:06Speaker 4: and impressed by Buck's hair. I just want to touch it.
- 14:09Speaker 3: It's so fluffy.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Good on you, sir. Thank you, Catherine. It's real and
- 14:15Speaker 1: it's fantastic. I used to get accused, Clay, of wearing
- 14:18Speaker 1: a wig when I would go on CNN all the
- 14:20Speaker 1: time by the haters.
- 14:21Speaker 4: All the time.
- 14:23Speaker 5: So your dad has similar hair. Like you can point
- 14:26Speaker 5: to it and say it's genetic. Like your dad, your
- 14:29Speaker 5: dad is like a crazy.
- 14:30Speaker 4: He's got a mane.
- 14:31Speaker 1: He's got a silver mane and he's going to be,
- 14:33Speaker 1: he's going to be 80 next summer. So he's a, yes,
- 14:36Speaker 1: it's pure. It's one of those things where you get
- 14:38Speaker 1: to just be like, well, I got, I got lucky
- 14:40Speaker 1: on this one. I don't get to be six 11,
- 14:42Speaker 1: like Ennis Cantor and make a hundred million dollars playing basketball,
- 14:46Speaker 1: but I do have a thick, fluffy mane of hair.
- 14:48Speaker 1: So I got that going for me, which is nice.
- 14:50Speaker 5: I met a bunch of listeners last night speaking of
- 14:53Speaker 5: Ennis Cantor. He did a great job at Marsha Blackburn's rally.
- 14:58Speaker 5: Glenn Jacobs came from WWE, was there. It was an
- 15:02Speaker 5: interesting collection. Those two guys.
- 15:04Speaker 1: By the way, standing next to them. I mean, you
- 15:07Speaker 1: must feel like Tyrion from Game of Thrones, dude. Glenn
- 15:09Speaker 1: is also like a seven footer and he's also broad.
- 15:13Speaker 1: He is a mountain of a man. Did you see
- 15:15Speaker 1: the picture that was up of all of us on
- 15:17Speaker 1: the stage?
- 15:17Speaker 5: I mean, every time I didn't want to pose with
- 15:19Speaker 5: those guys, I'm six foot tall and people just come
- 15:22Speaker 5: after me to your point. Like I'm Tyrion Lannister. Actually,
- 15:25Speaker 5: the funniest part was Marsha was between them both in
- 15:28Speaker 5: the photo and Marsha is, you know, a normal sized, uh, woman,
- 15:32Speaker 5: but she looks like, uh, she is just a, uh,
- 15:36Speaker 5: you know, like, uh, uh, Willow from, uh, from back
- 15:39Speaker 5: in the day.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Before we also bring you to.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Yeah. Very nice. Very, very well done.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Um, Before we get to Mike Rogers and the important
- 15:49Speaker 1: Senate race, which we're going to do in a minute,
- 15:51Speaker 1: a little more fun here on the fast casual restaurant debate.
- 15:56Speaker 1: This is Kurt from Cincinnati. B, hit it.
- 16:00Speaker 4: You're absolutely right. Twin Peaks, the beer's colder, the girls
- 16:04Speaker 4: are hotter, but you've got to go to Hooters and
- 16:07Speaker 4: try their buffalo fried shrimp. Blows anything Twin Peaks has
- 16:11Speaker 4: out of the water. This is what happens when you leave, Buck.
- 16:15Speaker 5: Next thing you know, I'm breaking down Hooters versus Twin Peaks,
- 16:18Speaker 5: which is the better sports.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Is that how that came up? I was like, wow,
- 16:22Speaker 1: this is a real Donnybrook, if you will. Twin Peaks
- 16:25Speaker 1: versus Hooters. Didn't Twin Peaks.
- 16:27Speaker 4: File for bankruptcy recently? Hooters. Maybe both of them.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 16:30Speaker 4: Hooters did. Maybe they both did.
- 16:32Speaker 1: I think one of the challenges is, and I would
- 16:34Speaker 1: put myself in this game. I know why this happened,
- 16:36Speaker 1: by the way. I think you and I are going
- 16:37Speaker 1: to say this. We know why those restaurant chains are
- 16:39Speaker 1: having so much trouble.
- 16:41Speaker 4: What's your theory?
- 16:43Speaker 5: Oh, that girls can make so much more money with
- 16:44Speaker 5: an OnlyFans account. It's not even close. That is very
- 16:47Speaker 5: likely true, that you don't have to work in Hooters.
- 16:50Speaker 5: You can make way more money online. Or just be
- 16:52Speaker 5: an Instagram influencer. I'm not even saying you have to get,
- 16:55Speaker 5: you know, not that you have to, but that somebody
- 16:57Speaker 5: gets nude. You just have your own Instagram brand. I
- 17:00Speaker 5: think what's happening is people's home setups for games, they're
- 17:06Speaker 5: so much better now than they used to be. So
- 17:08Speaker 5: having to go out and spend money to go to
- 17:11Speaker 5: a sports bar-like establishment to watch a game is way
- 17:15Speaker 5: less of a desire because the home environment is cheaper
- 17:20Speaker 5: and often better.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Well, I agree with that, but wouldn't that be true?
- 17:23Speaker 1: Are all sports bar chains having a rough time? Because
- 17:26Speaker 1: definitely the girls of a voluptuous nature serving you chicken wings,
- 17:33Speaker 1: that has been in decline. But have all sports bars
- 17:36Speaker 1: been in decline?
- 17:37Speaker 5: Buffalo wild wings is probably the biggest chain and i
- 17:41Speaker 5: don't think it's that great personally um and so it
- 17:45Speaker 5: is a good question from you i have not looked
- 17:48Speaker 5: at how buffalo wild wings has been doing um i'm
- 17:51Speaker 5: gonna look that up during the commercial break i'd like
- 17:53Speaker 5: to own a sports bar someday i've been talking about
- 17:55Speaker 5: it for a while i may do it at some
- 17:57Speaker 5: point in time uh as i just continue to do
- 18:00Speaker 5: all the things that Someone who is fortunate enough to
- 18:02Speaker 5: have money sits around and thinks, hey, you know what I'd.
- 18:04Speaker 3: Like to do?
- 18:05Speaker 5: I'd like to have one of these. I want to
- 18:06Speaker 5: tell you all about Rapid Radios. If you are out
- 18:09Speaker 5: there right now and you're worried about... We had an

- 18:21Speaker 5: But if you are thinking, hey, we're due for something
- 18:25Speaker 5: of that nature or that magnitude... You may want to

- 18:57Speaker 5: Welcome back in, Clay and Buck. We're going to be
- 18:58Speaker 5: joined by Mike Rogers. He is campaigning, as you might
- 19:02Speaker 5: well imagine, all over the place in Michigan. I want
- 19:06Speaker 5: to hit you with this right now. Inside Democrats' secret
- 19:09Speaker 5: effort to stack Alaska's ballot. Operatives aligned with Mary Peltola,
- 19:15Speaker 5: the Democrat nominee for Senate, spent months recruiting candidates to
- 19:21Speaker 5: peel votes from Senator Dan Sullivan, the Republican.
- 19:24Speaker 4: Listen to this, Buck.
- 19:25Speaker 5: This is the opening, again, of a New York Times
- 19:27Speaker 5: article that just published in the last couple of hours.
- 19:31Speaker 5: And let me know if Mike Rogers joins us, but
- 19:33Speaker 5: I just want to hit you with some of these details.
- 19:36Speaker 5: We're going to discuss it more in the remainder of
- 19:38Speaker 5: the show. Here's the opening of the story. In the
- 19:41Speaker 5: summer of 2025, a staffer for Mary Pelotola, the Alaska
- 19:46Speaker 5: Democrat eyeing a run for the Senate, received a unusual
- 19:50Speaker 5: instructions from top campaign aides. Find as many people named
- 19:55Speaker 5: Dan Sullivan in Alaska as you can. The staffer complied,
- 20:00Speaker 5: combing through voter records to produce a list of Dan
- 20:04Speaker 5: Sullivan's from across the state. This was no random request.
- 20:08Speaker 5: Dan S. Sullivan is the name of the state's Republican senator.
- 20:13Speaker 5: And if the Peltola campaign or its allies could track
- 20:16Speaker 5: down and persuade Another Dan Sullivan to run for Senate.
- 20:21Speaker 5: The confusion could cost the senator crucial votes on the
- 20:24Speaker 5: state's unusual four-person ballot. Mike Rogers joins us now. You
- 20:30Speaker 5: are in the middle of an incredibly contentious race in Michigan.
- 20:34Speaker 5: I'm not sure if you've seen this story yet coming
- 20:37Speaker 5: out of Alaska. The fact that Democrats are cheating on
- 20:41Speaker 5: the level of just finding a guy by the same
- 20:43Speaker 5: name to try and get voters to be confused on
- 20:48Speaker 5: alaskan ballots i'm sure you're seeing all sorts of crazy
- 20:52Speaker 5: tactics all over michigan too they're pulling out all the
- 20:55Speaker 5: dirty stops and of course this is the campaign that
- 20:59Speaker 5: claims they care so much about voter integrity and democracy
- 21:03Speaker 5: what are you seeing on the ground what can you
- 21:04Speaker 5: tell us oh.
- 21:06Speaker 3: My gosh yes and even worse than that so we
- 21:09Speaker 3: we have a guy who has associated with The Muslim Brotherhood,
- 21:12Speaker 3: which he's lied about constantly, won't answer questions to the press.
- 21:16Speaker 3: But the other day they put a commercial that insinuates
- 21:20Speaker 3: he was raised as a Presbyterian from his adopted parents. Wow. Grandparents,
- 21:28Speaker 3: adopted grandparents. It's kind of crazy that they would make
- 21:34Speaker 3: that leap. They're just saying anything, doing anything. We anticipate
- 21:38Speaker 3: that they're not going to be stand-up citizens going into
- 21:42Speaker 3: this thing, and so I think we're ready for all
- 21:45Speaker 3: of that. And this is for all the marvels. This
- 21:47Speaker 3: is really not left or right anymore. This is really
- 21:52Speaker 3: about the heart and soul of the country here. And boy,
- 21:57Speaker 3: this is going to be a game of inches. So
- 21:58Speaker 3: we're on a 12-day, 60-stop bus tour that's going phenomenally well.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Our excitement in the crowds are great. We have Senator Cruz...
- 22:10Speaker 3: with us on the bus stop today, who, by the way,
- 22:12Speaker 3: wants me to ask about Tennessee football over the weekend.
- 22:17Speaker 5: I'm trying not to think about that, by the way.
- 22:20Speaker 5: We choked against South Carolina late. Tell Senator Cruz I
- 22:23Speaker 5: appreciate him bringing that up. I was trying to forget it.
- 22:27Speaker 3: I think he knew what he was doing. I think
- 22:29Speaker 3: there had been a little shivving going on in that
- 22:31Speaker 3: whole thing. But I tell you what, we are excited
- 22:35Speaker 3: about people coming, kind of awareness. People start to put
- 22:38Speaker 3: on their jerseys. People start to say, hey, this guy's dangerous.
- 22:43Speaker 3: I mean, he's really dangerous. His ties to the Muslim
- 22:46Speaker 3: Brotherhood are pretty extensive. And guess what? The media is
- 22:53Speaker 3: playing along. I mean, he went on NBC and they said,
- 22:57Speaker 3: do you have any relations to the Muslim Brotherhood? He said, no.
- 23:00Speaker 3: He said, okay, great. I mean... unbelievable. You know, like,
- 23:05Speaker 3: you know, bringing Al Capone into the office for an
- 23:08Speaker 3: interview and said, do you have anything to do with
- 23:09Speaker 3: organized crime? No? Okay, great. You're good to go. I've
- 23:13Speaker 3: never seen anything quite like it. So we're just out
- 23:16Speaker 3: there trying to get the message out about how bad
- 23:18Speaker 3: he is for the state. He's the most radical and
- 23:21Speaker 3: extremist candidate in the country because he not only has
- 23:24Speaker 3: the whole Democrat Socialist of America agenda, he's got a
- 23:27Speaker 3: little side sauce of Muslim Brotherhood. What could go wrong?
- 23:32Speaker 4: Senator Rogers is You are going to run through the tape.
- 23:35Speaker 4: We know that.
- 23:36Speaker 1: And you have been fighting and fighting in a tough state, right?
- 23:39Speaker 1: A state where you don't have some big registration advantage.
- 23:43Speaker 1: You don't have a 10-point lead handed to you, or rather...
- 23:48Speaker 1: You know, Donald Trump showing that a 10 point lead
- 23:50Speaker 1: is even or 10 point win is possible.
- 23:51Speaker 3: Right.
- 23:52Speaker 4: It's going to be tight.
- 23:52Speaker 1: We know that to that end, although we have faith
- 23:56Speaker 1: in you, I will say Clay has always had.
- 23:57Speaker 4: Faith in you, Senator. I'm not going to lie.
- 23:59Speaker 1: I got a little worried there for a second, but
- 24:01Speaker 1: I have faith, too. I actually think you're going to
- 24:02Speaker 1: come up with the W because I know you're pushing
- 24:04Speaker 1: till the very end. Clay's smiling because he knows I'm
- 24:06Speaker 1: not going to pretend, but I actually think you are
- 24:08Speaker 1: going to win this race. Who has to come out?
- 24:11Speaker 1: We know the base has to show up. We know
- 24:12Speaker 1: the Trump voter has to show up. Who else has
- 24:16Speaker 1: to come out for you that you think is the
- 24:19Speaker 1: difference-maker constituency in your state of Michigan? Give me some
- 24:23Speaker 1: of the profiles or some of the demos, or who
- 24:25Speaker 1: do you think can be the difference-maker for you in
- 24:28Speaker 1: these final days?
- 24:30Speaker 3: Yeah, well, so Jewish Democrats have been huge for us
- 24:33Speaker 3: up here. I mean, again, this guy is so extreme.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Think of this. The former state party chairman has come
- 24:41Speaker 3: out and said he cannot vote for this guy. And
- 24:45Speaker 3: we have a dozen of elected Democrats saying they can't
- 24:49Speaker 3: vote for this guy. This is how extreme he is.
- 24:52Speaker 3: So we think that that demographic of not voting and
- 24:55Speaker 3: there's going to be a lot of Democrats doing that
- 24:57Speaker 3: and Democrats who come out. Matter of fact, Alyssa Slotkin,
- 25:01Speaker 3: finance chairman. of her last campaign, and he's a big,
- 25:06Speaker 3: lifelong supporter of Democrat candidates up and down the ballot,
- 25:11Speaker 3: not a Republican, came out yesterday and said, not only
- 25:15Speaker 3: am I not going to vote for this guy, I'm
- 25:16Speaker 3: going to vote for Mike Rogers. That kind of demographic
- 25:19Speaker 3: is huge for us, and it presents in two ways.
- 25:23Speaker 3: One is Jewish Democrats for Rogers, huge. We think we're
- 25:27Speaker 3: going to get half, at least half, of Jewish Democrats
- 25:30Speaker 3: in the state. That's about 35,000 votes. It would be
- 25:33Speaker 3: a swing for us. And the other big demographic for us,
- 25:37Speaker 3: I mean, again, you said take the base out of
- 25:40Speaker 3: the equation because we work really hard on getting our
- 25:42Speaker 3: base to turn out. And we have the largest ground
- 25:45Speaker 3: game in the country right now. We've just crossed 7
- 25:48Speaker 3: million doors, which has never been done here. College Republicans
- 25:53Speaker 3: came in last weekend and just college Republicans knocked on
- 25:58Speaker 3: 20,000 doors last week. I mean, it's just Really, really impressive.
- 26:01Speaker 3: And we're just not cut canvas in neighborhoods. It's very targeted.
- 26:05Speaker 3: So it's huge and valuable. Then we're going to add
- 26:08Speaker 3: this Jewish Democrats to our coalition. And here's the one
- 26:11Speaker 3: that's been pleasantly surprising for us. African-American voters in Detroit
- 26:17Speaker 3: and Pontiac and Flint. And we're not going to win
- 26:19Speaker 3: those areas. We know that. But could we move that
- 26:22Speaker 3: needle 5% and 6% and 7%? We think absolutely yes.
- 26:26Speaker 3: It's going so well, we ended up opening an office.
- 26:30Speaker 3: in Detroit and not downtown. We're out in the neighborhoods
- 26:34Speaker 3: so people could participate and pick up their signs. And
- 26:36Speaker 3: the number one sign flying out of those doors, Democrats
- 26:40Speaker 3: for Rogers in the city of Detroit. And so we're
- 26:44Speaker 3: working that. We're talking to them. We are. I've spent
- 26:48Speaker 3: a lot of time down there, met with dozens of
- 26:50Speaker 3: black pastors across the city of Detroit. We've had really
- 26:55Speaker 3: phenomenal reception. I mean, people aren't tossing us out. They're
- 26:58Speaker 3: listening to us, and we think we're going to move
- 27:01Speaker 3: that needle. Again, you get 35,000 Democrats to switch, Jewish Democrats,
- 27:07Speaker 3: and we move the needle on black voters in Detroit
- 27:11Speaker 3: and Flint and Pontiac, just six points. Man, that's that.
- 27:15Speaker 3: And we have to have a good turnout. If we
- 27:17Speaker 3: don't have a good turnout, it's all over. But if
- 27:19Speaker 3: we think that's happening, the energy rate is high, every
- 27:22Speaker 3: one of these events we stop at, people are fired up.
- 27:25Speaker 3: They know what's at stake. They know how dangerous this
- 27:28Speaker 3: guy is. They know you can't send a guy back
- 27:31Speaker 3: who can't condemn terrorism and doesn't know Iran is an
- 27:33Speaker 3: enemy of the United States.
- 27:36Speaker 5: I know that. You just laid out all the people
- 27:39Speaker 5: you need to come vote. How much is a couple
- 27:42Speaker 5: of parts here? How much is John James helping?
- 27:44Speaker 4: He's running.
- 27:45Speaker 5: I want everybody to know, too, as governor in Michigan
- 27:49Speaker 5: in an open governor seat. And also, how much of
- 27:53Speaker 5: this is El Sayed's arrogance? Because I've seen a lot
- 27:56Speaker 5: of traditional Democrat voters, black, like you said, in Detroit
- 28:00Speaker 5: and Flint. in different communities that have large black populations,
- 28:04Speaker 5: just saying this guy hasn't shown up. He didn't do
- 28:07Speaker 5: well with their vote with Haley Stevens. There seems to
- 28:11Speaker 5: be some tension there between Abdul El-Sayed and black voters
- 28:15Speaker 5: in Michigan.
- 28:16Speaker 4: I'm sure you pick up on that.
- 28:18Speaker 5: What have those conversations been like and what have they
- 28:21Speaker 5: told you about maybe even his arrogance when it comes
- 28:24Speaker 5: to going after that vote?
- 28:26Speaker 3: So think of this. He told a small group of
- 28:29Speaker 3: African Americans down in the city. It was more like
- 28:31Speaker 3: a roundtable. And we know this was someone who was there,
- 28:34Speaker 3: told us this, that he told them, listen, I know
- 28:38Speaker 3: you might have some problems with me, but get on board.
- 28:41Speaker 3: I'm going to win. And if you don't, I'll go
- 28:43Speaker 3: get boats. I'll make up your boats somewhere else. This
- 28:49Speaker 3: is a guy that's trying to get, heal this rift
- 28:52Speaker 3: that the that his community and the African-American community in
- 28:55Speaker 3: Detroit have been going through for a better part of
- 28:57Speaker 3: a decade. It's not selling. He's arrogant. He does not
- 29:03Speaker 3: connect well. He sat down with a black podcaster. She
- 29:08Speaker 3: ordered salmon. He ordered fried chicken.
- 29:10Speaker 4: I saw that video.
- 29:12Speaker 3: It's unbelievable. I mean, you want to talk about having
- 29:16Speaker 3: your head deposited up your backside. That's exactly the way
- 29:19Speaker 3: to do it. He doesn't understand that. African-Americans in Detroit
- 29:22Speaker 3: doesn't understand what their concerns are. He's dismissive. He is
- 29:29Speaker 3: certainly divisive. And, you know, he has a lot of
- 29:31Speaker 3: pretty talk. When he gets in trouble, he, you know,
- 29:33Speaker 3: he crafts himself a nice statement and all of that.
- 29:36Speaker 3: I just don't think it's working. And we had our supporters.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Think of this. He had to bring in Barack Obama
- 29:42Speaker 3: to try to save his black vote in Detroit. And
- 29:45Speaker 3: we've had a lot of our voters say, you know what?
- 29:49Speaker 3: I love Barack Obama, but that is not translating into
- 29:52Speaker 3: a vote for Abdul. That one surprised us. We thought, uh-oh,
- 29:56Speaker 3: that's going to cause us some trouble. But it didn't
- 29:58Speaker 3: seem to move our needle. And remember, we're not trying
- 30:01Speaker 3: to win the city of Detroit. We won't win the
- 30:04Speaker 3: city of Detroit. We don't need to win it. We
- 30:05Speaker 3: just need to improve ourselves six or seven points so
- 30:10Speaker 3: that we can take enough margin from them. He can't
- 30:13Speaker 3: make it up on college campuses is exactly what they're
- 30:16Speaker 3: trying to do.
- 30:17Speaker 5: Early voting is underway. We've got a big audience in Michigan.
- 30:20Speaker 5: I know you said you're on this barnstorming tour all
- 30:23Speaker 5: over the state. What are the early voting numbers looking
- 30:27Speaker 5: like so far as you can see? And why is
- 30:30Speaker 5: it important if people can in Michigan to get out
- 30:33Speaker 5: and vote early for you?
- 30:35Speaker 4: Just explain all that.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Yeah, no. So and thanks for that question. This is really,
- 30:39Speaker 3: really important for us. We've had a little over a
- 30:41Speaker 3: million votes already. We're expecting somewhere between 4.5 and 4.7
- 30:47Speaker 3: million votes in this election. So you can see that
- 30:50Speaker 3: there's been a huge chunk already have voted in just
- 30:55Speaker 3: by the numbers. And we think this is our ground game.
- 30:58Speaker 3: just by our numbers and modeling. So we don't have
- 31:01Speaker 3: party registration here, so we can't say, you know, Mike
- 31:04Speaker 3: Rogers voted, he's a registered Republican. We can't see that.
- 31:08Speaker 3: But we have modeling for these folks and, you know,
- 31:11Speaker 3: have identified people who are low propensity Republican voters, high
- 31:15Speaker 3: propensity Republican voters. So when you just lay it down
- 31:19Speaker 3: and say, okay, if these people vote, they are likely
- 31:23Speaker 3: to vote for you by modeling. And this is pretty accurate.
- 31:27Speaker 3: We're leading the return rate. Now, this doesn't mean we're
- 31:31Speaker 3: up by seven points, but the return rate is 7%
- 31:35Speaker 3: higher than the Democrats. That's much better than it was
- 31:38Speaker 3: in 2022 by a significant margin. So we're thinking that
- 31:44Speaker 3: that's people who are fired up and excited to make
- 31:47Speaker 3: sure that Abdul does not get into the United States Senate.
- 31:51Speaker 3: And we think that's a huge important statistic for us.
- 31:56Speaker 3: that we're just continuing to do the right thing. And
- 31:58Speaker 3: when you vote early, which we wish you would, off
- 32:02Speaker 3: our list, you would expect sort of that or more
- 32:08Speaker 3: mail or kind of door. And we are pretty sophisticated
- 32:12Speaker 3: at this by now. Drop your ballot. We have other people.
- 32:20Speaker 4: Okay, rogersforsenate.com. He's cutting up there because he's on the
- 32:22Speaker 4: campaign trail.
- 32:22Speaker 5: I think he's breaking up a little bit, but he's
- 32:24Speaker 5: saying go get your ballots in and get your friends
- 32:27Speaker 5: and neighbors get their ballots in as well. But those
- 32:30Speaker 5: numbers are very, very encouraging. Buck's on the side of
- 32:33Speaker 5: the good guys now. Mike Rogers is going to win
- 32:35Speaker 5: the website, rogersforsenate.com.
- 32:39Speaker 1: Rogersforsenate.com, guys. Everyone in Michigan, don't just go vote. Tell
- 32:43Speaker 1: your friends to vote. Make sure you get somebody else
- 32:46Speaker 1: to go vote.
- 32:48Speaker 3: Amen.
- 32:49Speaker 5: And I want to tell you, we like to do
- 32:51Speaker 5: a lot of work for the great people at Tunnel
- 32:54Speaker 5: to Towers. And look, they have done an amazing job
- 32:58Speaker 5: ensuring no veteran who served our country is left without
- 33:00Speaker 5: a safe, stable place to call home. Through its Homeless
- 33:04Speaker 5: Veteran Program, the foundation operates veterans' villages across the country.
- 33:08Speaker 5: They're celebrating four new communities in Detroit, Harrisburg, Denver, and Memphis.
- 33:13Speaker 5: Each veterans village provides permanent housing along with supportive services
- 33:17Speaker 5: that help veterans regain stability and move forward with greater independence.
- 33:22Speaker 5: Residents also find a sense of belonging among others who
- 33:25Speaker 5: understand the meaning of service and sacrifice. Tunnel to Towers
- 33:28Speaker 5: has helped more than 20,000 veterans nationwide through its homeless
- 33:32Speaker 5: veteran program. Grand openings mark another step toward the foundation's
- 33:36Speaker 5: goal of eradicating veteran homelessness, making sure America's heroes are
- 33:41Speaker 5: never left behind. Help Tunnel to Towers continue supporting veterans
- 33:45Speaker 5: across the country. Donate $ 11 a month or amplify your
- 33:48Speaker 5: impact with a car or land donation.
- 33:51Speaker 4: Go to T2T. org. That's T, the number two, T.
- 33:56Speaker 3: Laugh. Learn.
- 33:57Speaker 4: Hang with the guys. Right there when you need them most.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Clay and Buck. Just preset them on the iHeart app.
- 34:03Speaker 4: Welcome back into Clay and Buck.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Because we want to make sure that we are focused
- 34:08Speaker 1: on the enormously important midterm election, which is now just
- 34:12Speaker 1: less than a week away. Tuesday, the big day. Huge
- 34:15Speaker 1: day on Tuesday. We will be talking to John Husted, U.S.
- 34:19Speaker 1: Senator from Ohio, next.
- 34:21Speaker 4: Ohio....
- 34:23Speaker 1: Clay, he's going to come on this show, I'm hoping,
- 34:25Speaker 1: and get us all fired up for how they're going
- 34:28Speaker 1: to pull it out in Ohio. Vivek, Husted, they're going
- 34:31Speaker 1: to make it happen. All these polls are fake polls, nonsense.
- 34:35Speaker 1: At least I'm hoping that's what he's going to say.
- 34:37Speaker 1: But it's going to require everybody out there to go
- 34:39Speaker 1: out there and vote. Ohio is the single place where
- 34:43Speaker 1: I think.
- 34:45Speaker 3: We....
- 34:47Speaker 1: So go with Ohio in this midterm, I think, in
- 34:50Speaker 1: some ways. So go with the election. because if they're
- 34:53Speaker 1: able to overcome a 10-point advantage, an over 10-point advantage
- 34:56Speaker 1: from 2024 for Trump, that means the Democrats have done
- 35:01Speaker 1: well elsewhere, I would think. Clay, what are your thoughts?
- 35:04Speaker 1: We'll get to it with this good senator from Ohio shortly,
- 35:07Speaker 1: but the polls would have to be way off for
- 35:10Speaker 1: Ohio to.
- 35:10Speaker 5: End the way we want it to. Yeah, and they
- 35:12Speaker 5: have been way off in the past. And what I
- 35:14Speaker 5: come back to is Trump won Ohio by 11. So
- 35:18Speaker 5: if Ohio Republicans show up, if Ohio Trump voters show up,
- 35:23Speaker 5: then Husted and Vivek should win. Because unlike North Carolina
- 35:27Speaker 5: or Georgia or even Michigan, where we were just talking
- 35:30Speaker 5: to Mike Rogers, certainly Maine, New Hampshire, there's a huge
- 35:34Speaker 5: advantage built in for the Republican Party here. So it's
- 35:37Speaker 5: really just a get out the vote contest. We know
- 35:40Speaker 5: President Trump has been barnstorming. All over Ohio to try
- 35:44Speaker 5: to help out. So we will find out what the
- 35:46Speaker 5: absolute latest from John Husted is. We'll also dive back
- 35:49Speaker 5: into that report from The New York Times about the
- 35:52Speaker 5: dirty tricks that Democrats are putting in place to try
- 35:55Speaker 5: to run a man named Dan Sullivan against the sitting senator.
- 36:00Speaker 5: And the fact that this came from direct Democrat dirty
- 36:03Speaker 5: tactics associated with the fact that four names are on
- 36:06Speaker 5: the ballot. You know, they created this ranked choice voting
- 36:10Speaker 5: and now they're trying to exploit confusion to take advantage.
- 36:13Speaker 1: Is this the dirtiest thing since Democrats used COVID as
- 36:16Speaker 1: an excuse to hide Biden's dementia in the basement during
- 36:19Speaker 1: his presidential campaign? I think it's got to be the
- 36:21Speaker 1: dirtiest since then.
- 36:23Speaker 4: Is it as dirty?
- 36:24Speaker 5: I think it's even dirtier, Buck, because there's an intent
- 36:28Speaker 5: behind it. Democrats didn't control COVID. China screwed all that up.
- 36:34Speaker 5: This was an intentional plan they put in place. If
