- Lisa S: So I went to see BTS in concert with my aunt twice. Two different cities, thousands of miles apart. Now I'm live streaming the LA concerts too, and traveling to see them at an upcoming festival. Every experience is different, but each one leaves us searching for more. Like what is happening to me? Here's the thing: I'm 51 years old, I have a job, a family. A lot of responsibility, all the grown-up things you're supposed to have. And apparently, I also have a lightstick and a deep love for all things K-pop these days. The coordination it takes to pull this all off is insane. Tickets, hours in pre-sale lines, flights, hotels, merch, gifts, the outfit, and of course the lightstick. International travel has legitimately been on the table. And honestly, it still is. And don't get me started on the technology we had to learn to accomplish all of it. Then there's the merch. Real business. I wanted my bias's jersey and was ready to pay for it. Till I saw the line. Four to five hours long? Nope. Maybe that's the difference between being a fan at 21 versus 51. At least for me, I still want the jersey. Just not enough to camp out for it. And that's the weird thing about getting older. I didn't stop getting excited. I just got pickier about the things I'm willing to put myself through to get it. Now, have I used some girl math also to get here? Of course. Nothing reckless, just shifted some priorities. Did I trade an eight day vacation for a two and a half hour concert? Yes, I did. With absolutely no regret. Because walking into a stadium with 70,000 other army just as excited as you are is unmatched. Women younger than me, sure, but so many faces my age or older, and none of them are wondering if they're too old to be there. They're unapologetically living their best life. So why had I questioned if I had aged out of concert Lisa? I like her. And clearly she still had a seat waiting for her. Then the lights go down. You hear the first note of the Korean zither. If you know, you know. And everyone loses their minds. Those seven men you're now fully invested in walk on stage and suddenly the math makes perfect sense. For the next few hours, this is the one place you have full permission to have fun, let go, and experience joy. So is there actually an age limit to being a fangirl? I don't think so, but let's get into it. Lisa Wilson: Lisa Smith, I'm so happy to see you. I know I've been getting pictures and all sorts of great stuff from you, having literally the time of your damn life at BTS and losing your mind speaking Korean. Like Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Losing my mind. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: I just I love it so, so much for you. Like as someone who has been your friend for many, many years, I was Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: it's so important when things light up your brain that you like deep Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: dive into it. And I I gotta tell you, like I've never seen you so excited about anything in your life. but we're Lisa S: Yeah. Lisa Wilson: gonna we're gonna get into that. But I like in seeing like your fandom and knowing my fandom, I just feel Lisa S: Mm. Lisa Wilson: like I had this kind of epiphany I feel like I've uncovered kind of a major double standard. Maybe I haven't uncovered it, maybe everyone else is aware of it, but I didn't really think about it. So like at what age did women supposedly get too old to completely lose their shit over something that they love? Right? And I feel like, Lisa S: Yeah. Lisa Wilson: us being at a concert with people half our age and younger and older than us, but for the majority, we are usually the oldest people in these in these rooms where we're screaming Lisa S: Mm. Lisa Wilson: and yelling and can't keep it together. And it seems like I feel like a little embarrassed by that sometimes. And then I like Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: look over at all the dudes in my life. So Lisa S: Yeah. Lisa Wilson: all the men of my life, they all love sports. They do fantasy football, which if you don't know what Lisa S: Mm. Lisa Wilson: that is, it's like LARPing football. I'm like, you never even played football. Like, why are you? Tracking your player stats. Why are you getting their jersey? Why are you Lisa S: Yeah. Lisa Wilson: paying, you know, a thousand dollars for football tickets for, you know, and basically acting like you're part of the team when you've never Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: ever been on the team, right? I just feel like never, never. Lisa S: And probably will never meet those people, right? Like, never. Lisa Wilson: And it's it just it seems to me like women are made to feel like we should not be screaming and yelling. Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: Because I don't know, like what do you think? Why do you think men and women have a double standard for fandom? Lisa S: It's a really good like point. I I guess I never really thought about it that way, but they don't apologize for screaming at a television. They don't apologize for, you know, full blown weekends, you know, tailgating all the things. The party starts five days before the actual game. they don't apologize for that. So I don't know Lisa Wilson: Mm-mm. Lisa S: why I think sometimes we're made to feel like That's what like we we've aged out of being able to do that. Lisa Wilson: Yeah. Lisa S: for a band, for anything, you know, really, honestly. yeah, that's it's a really interesting point. So double standard. Lisa Wilson: Double standard and like I ask Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: myself why all the time, right? I'm like, why is it when I love Twilight so much, I was too embarrassed to go in and buy the book in a young adult section. So I made someone go Lisa S: Yeah. Lisa Wilson: get it for me because I just I felt like some kind of way about it. And I don't know, I will tell you it's not because I'm normally somebody who gets embarrassed, but it was definitely like I got made fun of for it. You know what I mean? So like it it's just it's it's Lisa S: Yeah. Lisa Wilson: unfair and One of the things I'll say that I think is is different about the fandom now is that as adults, Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: I have it's funded. Or an aunt or a boyfriend, girlfriend, whatever. But it's expensive and it's mostly beyond your means, right? So like Lisa S: Yeah. Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: we were Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Yeah. Lisa Wilson: When we were in our last destination, my chemical romance was there. And so all of ooh, I love and this all the hotel lobby was flooded with goth kids, which I just it's like my personal. I was like, Can I hang out with you guys? And they're like, No, Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Which you were like, I love. Lisa Wilson: weirdo, no. but I literally said to one of the girls who was all decked out and so cute, cute as a button, and I was like, I tried to get my chemical romance tickets and couldn't. Lisa S: Mm. Lisa Wilson: Because they sell out, 'cause the bots buy them all and then send them sell them through second sales. I was like, So Lisa S: Yeah, they do. Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: whoever got your tickets, you need to high five them. And she looked at her her dad next to her and she's like, He did. And she was like, Thanks, dad. He's like, I had to get four sets. Lisa S: Wow. Lisa Wilson: So, like, I just think that as an adult, as a full grown lady, I Lisa S: Yeah. Lisa Wilson: think that my fandom now and I and Like I definitely want to hear your side of it. But like my fandom now is it's that, you know, when you're younger and you're a fan of a of a group or an actor, it's like it's all about you want to marry them, you know? Like you write you write your name out, like with their last name with a bunch of Lisa S: Mm. Lisa Wilson: hearts around it. I I mean, I don't know what they do now. I don't know what the kids do now, make avatars of them together. I don't know, but right? Lisa S: I Yeah. You've seen probably the AI like where they're sitting next to you on the airplane or whatever, you know, creating creating Lisa Wilson: Yeah. Yeah. Lisa S: photographs of you and your whoever you're crushing over or whatever. Lisa Wilson: So how would you think, Lisa, being a fangirl of BTS Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: at your age versus when you were sixteen, what do you Lisa S: Yeah. Lisa Wilson: think the difference would have been? What would that have looked like for you? Lisa S: Well, I think today, like to your point, the lines don't get blurred anymore between like fantasy and reality. You're not gonna Lisa Wilson: Yes. Lisa S: marry They're not gonna take you backstage. You're no, no. Like those things, to your point, I think when you're younger, your outfits might be a little bit more revealing, you know, you're screaming, Marry me you know, like it's It's much different, I think, when you get a little older. I think you enjoy the music for what it is and the talent of the artist for what it is. And you genuinely like just it's a it's definitely a different experience relationship experience, you know, with somebody that you if you admire their music or or whatever. I just think I go into it and appreciate that they bring me so much joy in a very different way. Now Lisa Wilson: Mm. Lisa S: I mean have I said before like sometimes they look amazing Like how amazing they look? Yes. However, in a very respectful way. I'm Lisa Wilson: Yeah, I mean, so Lisa S: not I'm not creepy. Lisa Wilson: like I I think that there is definitely like this shift for me is like you go from being fifteen and in your head, like in a committed relationship with this person, you're never gonna meet. Again, for me, that really was like I mean, Lisa S: Yeah. A hundred percent. They call you through the crowd and they're Yeah. Lisa Wilson: we run into each other at McDonald's. Like, I don't know. I don't know. And by the way, girls, they're like forty years old when you're fifteen. So, you know, Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: let's like okay, but as an adult As a fifty one year old, I'm not like I don't I don't delude myself at all, but I get worried about them. I'm like, does he look tired? Like is he eating? Lisa S: We same thing, same thing. Like, do you need a snack? I'm worried about your exhaustion level. Like, Lisa Wilson: Mm. Lisa S: like you got a cold and you're still gonna you're still gonna sing tonight. Like I'm worried about you. trust me, I feel like that I've said that more than I can even count. My aunt as well, just like I'm so worried I'm worried about them and you you genuinely do care. That they are Lisa Wilson: Yeah. Lisa S: well and fine, but that is the difference. I don't think I ever would have cared before if like I'm literally saying, their schedule is so grueling. How are they gonna do it? You know, like Lisa Wilson: Yeah. Lisa S: concerned about their their schedule. I would have never been concerned about Prince's schedule back in the day. Like Lisa Wilson: No. Well no. And it's like I feel like we didn't age out of fangirling, right? But we we definitely are different fangirls with money and time, right? your aunt is part of the silver army. So Lisa S: I technically am as well, like age age group, by the way. I think it's 50 plus is what how they consider it. So I would Lisa Wilson: Okay. Lisa S: be considered part of that group as well, I guess. But hey, Lisa Wilson: Yeah. Yeah. Lisa S: fine. These these women are so incredible. They Lisa Wilson: Yeah. Lisa S: have, you know, they rally together, they form these groups. I think it has become so fun to follow them on their multiple, you know, trips on their multiple concert experiences. They're pulling groups together in every city that they're come going into. there's just a lot of really great people and they're doing really fantastic things. They're organizing fundraisers and things like that and really helping more people Enjoy the experience in a in a much different way. they provide a lot of information when you are going to a certain venue, like they can you know, give you tips or whatever. So anyway, great people. I've haven't Lisa Wilson: Yeah. Lisa S: met anyone that I haven't just thought were so fun. Lisa Wilson: I mean, and I think that there is, you know, it's one of those things that we might be in the Auntie Zone or the silver army, which I I mean, I just can't believe that I'm in a silver Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: army, but yeah, sure, okay. but I feel like it's still fun. Like it's still like Lisa S: Yeah. So fun. Lisa Wilson: you feel like you belong and you feel Lisa S: Yes. Lisa Wilson: like you all have this shared experience. I mean, you guys listen, we all have that thing that makes our makes our brain light up. and Lisa's is BTS, but we all have that thing that we're just like you look around the room, you're like, Yeah, like this is it. Like this is Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: this is what I'm here for. and I think we definitely need to do more of that. So Lisa S: Well, Lisa, you know, I wanna wanna say something. I was really nervous actually to go into a stadium with 70,000 people. Lisa Wilson: Yeah. Lisa S: I've done it now a couple of times, but you feel so comfortable everybody it doesn't feel like you're in a crowd of 70,000 people. Everyone is kind and yeah, sharing the same experience and want. everyone to be safe. I mean, you you hear all these stories about people taking care of people after the concert, trying to help them get to where they need to be, making sure people aren't alone. Like there's just a lot of really great I'm not saying that this is the only fan base that does that, but it is really refreshing because that amount of people can, you know, be a little I know. I know. Lisa Wilson: You guys could take over the city. You could take over the whole city if you wanted to. And I feel like that Lisa S: I know. Lisa Wilson: is something that's like, so what is it, Lisa, about these seven guys? What is it about BTS Lisa S: Mm. Lisa Wilson: that unites all of these? And again, this is not a BTS like fan chat. I would never. I mean, I don't have the experience, and I know that a lot of you guys take this stuff really seriously. But Lisa's experience is something that I think we can all relate to is that you just have like this this girl crush on like all the girls in the audience and then you also love this band. But what is it about BTS? Lisa S: So it's for me, it's their their backstory was so is so compelling, kind of really where they started and how they've how they've become just incredibly successful, internationally successful from from where they started. I love their backstory. I love all their different personalities and how they take care of each other. now Some of their music resonates with me more than others. Lisa Wilson: Mm. Lisa S: and they've gone through definitely different eras over the last, you know, decade plus. and so clearly I love the music, but like looking back when they debuted in 2013, I wasn't in the space for for the music at that time, right? So people say that BTS finds you when you need it the most. And I think that that couldn't be more true. I think their new album really captured my attention. And then you go down a rabbit hole from there. Like it's whatever resonates with you. so yeah, I think it's just it's a really fun fan base too. Army is hilarious. I mean, some of the things that I have seen is just they're funny. And so Lisa Wilson: Yeah. Lisa S: I think that I have just gotten so much joy out of not only doing this with my aunt, and really being excited about something that I haven't been excited about something in a really long time. And so I think that's also something like it makes me happy and they are funny. The members are funny. And so, yeah, I don't know. I'd I've laughed more than I have in a really long time. So laughter, Lisa Wilson: I mean Lisa S: fun, like joy and excitement, something Lisa Wilson: I love Lisa S: to look forward to. Lisa Wilson: that, Lisa. Lisa S: and then it's like there's like there's something that's real and it's post-concert depression. Like The minute that they walk off the stage, they're not coming back for an encore. So you, it was all it's a lot of buildup to get there. and then the minute that the fireworks go off and they walk off the stage, it's like kind of like, my gosh, like that's it, you know? But it doesn't have to be it, but for that moment, it's it. And it it really hits you. I can't explain it. You like almost don't want to leave the stadium, but there's no they start taking the stage down right away. So, like, if you're, you know, Lisa Wilson: Like, we gotta move on, ladies. Lisa S: we gotta go to the next city. But I feel like I'm re-prioritizing where I want to put my money, I think to what you were saying, like in order for us to See them again, we canceled an eight-day vacation that we had scheduled for next year. And it I had no problem doing it to put that money here for two and a half hours. No problem. and neither did my aunt. Lisa Wilson: I mean, that's love. Lisa S: We both were just like, let's do it. So canceled the trip and just took that money and moved it over. Lisa Wilson: everyone is seeing it on Instagram, right? Like the people that Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: are spending the money to do all the things, the seventy thousand people all leaving at the same time. I mean, it's been all over Instagram Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: and Facebook. So if you don't know what we're talking about, go check it out. But it it it is intimidating the sheer Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: number of people that were kind of there. But everyone seemed so nice and they just they really Lisa S: So nice. Lisa Wilson: liked it and I I love that. but Lisa S: So nice. Lisa Wilson: I one of the things I learned on Instagram is a bias and I had to ask you. So for those of us out here who don't know what that is, tell me what a bias is. Lisa S: Well, your bias is like your ultimate, like favorite member. Okay. It's like yeah, it's it's your ultimate. Now Lisa Wilson: Okay. Lisa S: there's also a bias wrecker And that is who will temporarily like make you question your bias. However, comma, it's not changing your it your bias wrecker doesn't change your bias, but yeah. It's so funny. It's so true though. Like I have a bias and then a bias wrecker just came in and just like like first concert. First concert. I was done. I was done. Lisa Wilson: This is something you guys said, if you are not into the fandom for BTS or and you haven't been like I got invested because Lisa was really invested and I wanted to have that experience and share that with her. But like there is there's trading cards with the biases Lisa S: yeah. Lisa Wilson: on them that people collect and trade and they they meet with each other and she's got she's got her trading cards and then the Lisa S: Uh-huh. yeah. yeah. Yep. Yep. Lisa Wilson: gifts at the show. What is that? Walk me through that. Lisa S: yeah. So I mean I have some here. So they're so Lisa Wilson: Okay. Lisa S: cre they're so creative. Like people making like army bomb necklaces and packets like physical like they put a lot of time into this, like making stuff, stickers, bracelets. Lisa Wilson: And they hand it out to each other at the show. Lisa S: yeah, yeah. I have a I have so many. And yeah, like little necklaces, bracelets, like Yungi here. And then we gave away because you have you gotta give you have to reciprocate. Somebody gives you something. We had these Lisa Wilson: Yeah. Lisa S: little stickers made that said that has the the album cover and then it just says Chicago, Illinois, BTS World Tour 2026. Is that so cute? Lisa Wilson: It's so cute. Lisa S: And I was like, I really should have put these on a magnet and handed out magnets, but but I didn't. Lisa Wilson: There's always next time. Lisa S: Yeah, but it's s so cute. People were and everyone is just so kind and handing out all these really fun, fun things, creative things that they spent hours and their own money to make and create. No nobody had anything the same. Like I got so many things, like bookmarks and just a lot of really cool stuff. So Lisa Wilson: I just love the idea of like everyone coming together and when you really love something and share that love for it. And then you also had like a little tattoo, right? Lisa S: yeah. yeah. Me and my aunt had a tattoo. We had the Arirang tattoo. hers was red, mine was black. yeah, it was really fun. Yeah, it was so, so fun. Lisa Wilson: I love it so much. Like I just I think it's great. So one of the things that of course everyone is also talking about, and you've already said you didn't go into debt for this, but you definitely repurpose some savings. But the cost for this, I've seen people are like, it's $300. Well, it's only $3,000. Well, it's only $35,000. It's I mean, it's Lisa S: Yeah. Lisa Wilson: only money, right? They just climb, climb, climb. And I think once you get into it. Like it's like the gift making, right? there are people that just went all in on the gift making because that's how they showed love to everybody else that Lisa S: Yeah. Lisa Wilson: shared their love for BTS. I just Lisa S: Yeah. Lisa Wilson: I think it's so cool. But is there is there a dollar amount that you're like, No fucking way am I spending that much money on something? Was there anything that you're like, nope, that's where I draw the line? Lisa S: No, no, no, because I think like I like to be a little bit closer to the stage. but this concert with a 360-degree stage, even if you're, you know, on a on a higher deck, you can see the the concert great. You can't see the stage, but the screens are are huge. So I don't really think there's a bad place to be. but the closer you get to the stage, the more expensive it is, clearly. I don't know. I would have loved to have been able to be in soundcheck one of the days. That would have been really fun. VIP soundcheck, but there's always another time. Lisa Wilson: Yeah. Lisa S: but those tickets are really expensive. Thousands, thousands, Lisa Wilson: Like how much? Thousands. Lisa S: thousands, yeah. Lisa Wilson: I mean I mean Lisa S: From what from what I could see. Lisa Wilson: but you still went twice. Like you're like, I don't care. I'm just gonna spend the money and have the good time. and then Lisa S: Well, my it wasn't thousands, Lisa Wilson: No. Lisa S: but they were they were yeah, they were expensive. So I mean in Chicago Lisa Wilson: Yeah, but I just I love Lisa S: we were in section one, so we were really close and it was f just phenomenal. Like you could yeah, it was so close. Yeah. Lisa Wilson: Yeah. And I go ahead. I have pictures. So I'll I'll be posting the pictures as we as we go. I had to Google like what can we not show. and you guys there's Lisa S: Mm. Lisa Wilson: a lot. So make sure if you're doing a BTF show, you Google it so they don't pull your episode down. Lisa S: Ha ha ha Lisa Wilson: we wouldn't want that to happen. And one of the things that I just think is just as someone who also is part Lisa S: Hmm. Lisa Wilson: of like a fandom. Right. It's this Lisa S: Yes. Lisa Wilson: shared experience and this shared love that I think that I can't imagine what that felt like amplified by 70,000 people with everyone sharing and giving their love in a singular direction, right? And and really embracing one another and embracing Lisa S: Yeah. Lisa Wilson: the band. And it reminds me a little bit of the World Cup, right? So we've Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: had We've had all these positive things happening where people are, whether no matter where you sit in the world, you have a shared love and the fans are really embracing each other. And I I Lisa S: Yeah. Lisa Wilson: feel like it might be because of the way the world is working right now that Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: we need this love more than ever. Like I feel like so like Lisa S: I have to agree. This vibration, it's raising vibration and it is doing it in such a global way that Lisa Wilson: Yeah. Lisa S: I it's actually quite incredible. Lisa Wilson: I know. Lisa S: I mean, yeah, I I I I wish I could capture the feeling in a bottle and pull it out anytime I Lisa Wilson: Yeah. Lisa S: need it because I'm telling you, the roar of the crowd, the Stomping the stadiums shake, like just shake, sheer shake, that many people moving at the same rhythm, singing the same words, yelling at the same time, fan chanting, all the same chants. It's absolutely yes, like Lisa Wilson: Seventy thousand. Wow. Lisa S: and to see it in in Las Vegas first. That was incredible. That was incredible. That that same energy of just like literally the roar of the crowd gets in your bone. Like it's it's I can't explain it. It's so incredible. And Chicago was like off the chart. Like Chicago, dude, they showed up. It was so like incredible. I just kept I'm like the ground is shaking. Like we are shaking. This entire soldier field is shaking. And then to have the the fireworks that was just so incredible. yeah, I just it was something I can't explain. Lisa Wilson: I I know, but I'm just so one, I'm so happy for you. And two, I feel like there's so much like there was you know, we had been talking we you know, we talked a little bit today about the differences in the age groups, but I Lisa S: Yeah. Lisa Wilson: feel like I mean I've seen the audiences and there are men there, but it's primarily women and the way that they rally around each other Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: And the way that they lifted like the the older ladies are helping the younger ladies trying to figure out where things are and helping them when they when they were all leaving, they were like they felt responsible for one another. Yeah. Lisa S: Yeah, there's like a responsibility to make sure that these people get are safe and yeah, absolutely. Lisa Wilson: I just think the BTS is making the world a better place. I Lisa S: Hey. Lisa Wilson: mean I do. Lisa S: Your stamp on that. A Lisa Wilson: And I and I I would love to say that like I have not myself been impacted by fandom. but the Instagram girls got me. They got me so good. Lisa S: they got you good. Lisa Wilson: So listen, this girl loves a K drama. Lisa S: Yes. Yes. Lisa Wilson: Like I love it. And My Demon like if you have not seen that, everyone needs to rush out and watch it. It does have Lisa S: I haven't seen it yet. Lisa Wilson: I love My Demon That was like my first introduction into K dramas and K romances and K comedies. And I I love them, love them. But then all the Instagram girlies are talking about The Pursuit of Jade like pictures of these women under Under blankets, like with their blankets up to their nose, and the sun is going up and going down, the sun is going up and going, and it's like, Lisa S: They're just Lisa Wilson: and they are sitting there, they're in, and I'm like, and then I'm seeing, you know, like and I Lisa S: Mm. Lisa Wilson: was like, you know, so I'll check it out. But then I did, and I was like, 40 episodes, you guys are nuts. And there's no English overtitle, it's all in in But I was like, 40 episodes, and I have to read. I'm like, no. So then again, the girls from Instagram, they're showing pictures of Marquis Wu’an And I'm like, wait a minute, They're like so funny. They're like dressing up their dogs as him, and then they're like their husbands are like trying to get their attention and they're dressing up like him just to try to get them away from their TV. Lisa S: Just to try to get the their wives. Lisa Wilson: And I was like, okay, like, all right, I I'm gonna watch one episode and we'll we'll see. We'll see how it goes. literally episode 10. I'm on the edge of my couch reading my TV. Lisa S: Because you're reading, 'cause you have to read. Lisa Wilson: Like my life depends on it. And Doug is like walking by, he's like, What is this? And I'm like, I'm reading. Literally, episode 20. Doug is like, Who's that guy? I'm like, I don't know. I've never watched this. Episode 30, we're like, finally. And literally by the end of the show, we are both all in. Lisa S: Invested. I that. I love it. Lisa Wilson: Invested and the story is great and we both loved it so much. And the actors are young enough to be my children. and again, this is where we go from the Auntie of like the the marriage zone to the Auntie zone literally Lisa S: Like you're in the empty zone. Yep. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: to the point that I I've seen the lead actor, and you guys I don't want to say his name because I will mess it up, but I'll put a picture of him up. And he's so pretty. Like he you guys, he literally Lisa S: So Lisa Wilson: so handsome. He's at the mall doing like a meet and greet. These people busted through the glass on the side of the mall to get in to see him. Lisa S: My gosh, no that Lisa Wilson: He has like two. Lisa S: is insane. Lisa Wilson: Like his fandom is wild and he had like two hundred bodyguards that he had to hire. Because he Lisa S: What? Lisa Wilson: just kept getting like so he's six foot three. Gorgeous. And like we all just love him. I mean the mo Lisa S: Beautiful skin, beautiful skin. Lisa Wilson: the most beautiful skin. And Lisa S: What? Lisa Wilson: she's adorable and she's a great actress and she's super pretty and she's funny. Like they're both really funny, the relationship between the two of them. So listen. I can't say enough good things about it, but did I do the same thing and become an absolute zealot for this show? Yes, I did. Did I start Lisa S: Yeah. Lisa Wilson: telling everyone I've ever met, even if I don't know you? First I tell you about the podcast. And then I ask you if you've seen Pursuit of Jade Right? So that is and then let me show you a Lisa S: And then let me show you a picture. Lisa Wilson: picture because he's freaking stunning. And I just I love it so much. But Lisa S: I love it. Lisa Wilson: listen, like I really am like and I told Lisa this and we had like a conversation. I'm really worried about him. He looks very tired. And I he's pushing himself too hard. And Lisa S: He's just pushing himself. He's pushing himself too much. Lisa Wilson: I'm worried that he's getting depressed because he's just like he's just he looks sad. And so I like I want to help him, but I like okay. Like I I'm a fifty-five year old lady in the United States. I'm not gonna ever have any access to this kid. But would I write a Strongly worded email to his manager, yes I will. Lisa S: Yes. I think that's how I think that's how like it it feels like you're you're like, you know, are you are you eating okay? Like are fans treating you well? Like, Lisa Wilson: Yes. Lisa S: you know, are people giving you your personal space? Like you're just actually extremely concerned. Lisa Wilson: I'm j I mean genuinely worried about him. You know what I mean? And like Lisa S: Yes! Yes! Yes! Lisa Wilson: and like here's the thing. So I've seen a lot of stories on Instagram about and we've talked about it, and Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: Facebook and TikTok, the whole thing of like what is this obsession we all have with Lisa S: Yes. Lisa Wilson: K-pop, K dramas, K-pop bands. And it is it is a literal obsession. Like I absolutely Lisa S: Yeah. Lisa Wilson: like if you watch my Netflix, like if I die and someone comes to my house, you're like, did she watch anything but K dramas? Lisa S: Ha ha. Lisa Wilson: Like how many times does a normal person watch K-pop demon hunters before it gets weird? So, Lisa, I know that we've just talked about how ecstatic we are about finding these things that light up our brain and make us so happy and they are a thousand percent our high fives. but Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: we were talking earlier, and you were kind of filling me in on that your real high five is BTS and your bias and your bias record, but it really is also the fans Lisa S: So true. Lisa Wilson: that go to the show, right? Walk me through why Lisa S: Yes. So Lisa Wilson: they're your high five. Lisa S: well, Army is just so incredible. I mean, they're they're just genuine. you can tell that they truly care about each other, care about, you know, the members, care about the music. I mean, it really hits home. how how much they are coming together as a community. They've built communities, different communities, and you know. They're so creative making all these little gifts that I was showing you earlier. not afraid to talk to strangers. I think that's also something that gift exchange gets you out of your comfort zone to talk to somebody that you would probably not just walk up on the street and talk to them. So it provides this opportunity for you to meet new people, hear where they're from, hear their story. and then I love the fact that. the the fan base, the army is just goes over so many different generations. Like you see little kids there, you and then you see somebody in their 90s, you know, that it's they've loved BTS forever and they finally got to come to a show. So it's absolutely incredible. It's bringing people together. It's bringing families together. And I can't not say enough about how inspiring it is to see how they get organized to do all of these fundraisers and you know match donations and I mean the members themselves donate millions and millions of dollars to some really incredible causes and so does Army. And I mean to me that vibration That positive vibration is so incredible because the members have inspired their fan base to do good. And so just imagine how many people are impacted and inspired by the philanthropy. So it's just honestly, I don't know. It inspires me. I think it's fantastic. I love it. Lisa Wilson: fantastic and I think again there's power in people. You know what I Lisa S: Yeah. Lisa Wilson: mean? Like we we lift each other up, we we do good and we Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: try to like be as happy as we can and and you know do all these things together. let's wrap up with our closing question. Is there an age limit To being in the BTS Army. Lisa S: No, absolutely not. You can, you can be of any age, any gender, doesn't matter, you'll be welcomed and you will have a fantastic time. Lisa Wilson: I mean, I don't think so either. I I think that again we gotta find our joy wherever we can. And you know, one of the things that we really that I love about all of the C drama and the K drama and the K-pop demon hunters Lisa S: Mm-hmm. Lisa Wilson: and BTS and all of this joyful momentum that we all have. Lisa S: Mm. Lisa Wilson: And I really wanna tell everybody like, We are gonna come out of the bathroom, we're gonna get our Instagram reels, we're gonna watch them in front of everybody, we're gonna show your friends our favorite bias and then our bias wrecker and then we're Lisa S: Yeah. Uh-huh. Lisa Wilson: going to just celebrate our joy and lift each other up and just get as weird as we wanna get. because you know what? Like the difference for me is that at fifty-five, I've earned it. Like I have earned my weird Lisa S: Yes, I earn the light stick. Lisa Wilson: lightsticks today. Lisa S: I earned it. Lisa Wilson: I just I love it so so much. And I love it for all of us. And you guys, I know that you know, you may not be in the BTS Army and you may not have hopped on the the C drama, K drama bandwagon. You should and you will because there's Lisa S: Mm. Lisa Wilson: a lot of beauty there. And again, a lot of concern making sure Lisa S: A lot of you Lisa Wilson: like that making sure they're all doing okay. Lisa S: Mm. Lisa Wilson: because I will forever, I think, in the B in the the grandma, maybe Auntie, I'll go anti-zone. Lisa S: Auntie. Lisa Wilson: but tell us what you are super fangirling over right now. And if it is BTS, you better tell us your bias and your bias wrecker or Lisa will reach out to you in the DMs and ask you to Lisa S: Hundred percent. Lisa Wilson: clear it up for her. but just remember, whoever you're fangirling, whatever you're fangirling, please make sure you hydrate. Make sure that you unclench jaw, roll those shoulders back, spend the freaking money, Buy the ticket and go high five Lisa S: Yes. Buy the ticket. Lisa Wilson: Go high five somebody and have a great week, you guys. Thank you so much. Bye. Lisa S: Thank you, bye.
