- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on. Do your thing, Big Daddy. Uh-huh. I sure will.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Good morning, everybody. You're listening to The Voice. Come on,
- 0:09Speaker 2: dig me now. One and only, Steve Harvey. Got a
- 0:13Speaker 2: radio show.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Well, all right.
- 0:18Speaker 2: I learned something. And it's sharing time. And I am
- 0:25Speaker 2: ever appreciated. I do appreciate God for all that he
- 0:29Speaker 2: allows me to learn in my life. One of the
- 0:34Speaker 2: best lessons I've learned is that hardship teaches you some
- 0:41Speaker 2: great lessons. Challenges brings about some of my best results.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I think what I'm trying to say is in every
- 0:53Speaker 2: challenge and hardship, every setback, I've learned something so, so valuable.
- 1:02Speaker 1: So here's, here's what.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I've, you know, I've, I've known this, but I've just
- 1:06Speaker 2: learned it at a different angle. Appreciation and gratitude is
- 1:12Speaker 2: the key to having more. Now, I don't know how
- 1:18Speaker 2: that sound to you, but I can't tell you how
- 1:23Speaker 2: true it is. God being fair and just as he
- 1:28Speaker 2: really is.
- 1:29Speaker 1: He really is. He's a fair and a just God.
- 1:32Speaker 2: What's most beneficial to us is he happens to be
- 1:36Speaker 2: full of mercy and grace. And I'm telling you something, man.
- 1:44Speaker 2: I probably benefited from his grace and mercy. More than
- 1:52Speaker 2: anything else, I mean, really, man, if it wasn't for
- 1:55Speaker 2: him just forgiving me and then for him just touching
- 2:02Speaker 2: my life the way he has, I mean, I'm not
- 2:05Speaker 2: here in this position today.
- 2:07Speaker 1: I'm just not.
- 2:09Speaker 2: But a funny thing has happened along the way, even
- 2:12Speaker 2: to you, if you look at it, is that your
- 2:16Speaker 2: genuine appreciation and gratitude has been the key to you
- 2:21Speaker 2: having more for your continued blessings and for making room
- 2:28Speaker 2: for heaven to open up and pour out blessings that
- 2:31Speaker 2: you don't have room enough to receive. If you look
- 2:34Speaker 2: at it, see God being a fair and just God, which.
- 2:37Speaker 1: He is, why would he put more on you than
- 2:43Speaker 1: you can bear?
- 2:44Speaker 2: If you've noticed everything that's happened in your life, if
- 2:48Speaker 2: you're still here, you've made it.
- 2:51Speaker 1: You know, forget how rough it was. Got that. But
- 2:55Speaker 1: you made it.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Forget what it sent you through and how it made
- 2:59Speaker 2: you feel.
- 3:02Speaker 1: You made it.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Now, what makes people give up and you hear about
- 3:07Speaker 2: people committing suicide is they leave the God out of
- 3:10Speaker 2: their life. And they start allowing that other voice to control.
- 3:15Speaker 2: And if it's really true that God never puts more
- 3:17Speaker 2: on you than you can bear, as long as you
- 3:20Speaker 2: stay connected to God, you can get through anything, but
- 3:24Speaker 2: you lose that connection. You lose that communication. You lose
- 3:30Speaker 2: that relationship with him. If you're not having a relationship
- 3:34Speaker 2: with God, then who are you having a relationship with?
- 3:40Speaker 2: It ain't but two forces at work at all time.
- 3:44Speaker 2: It's good and evil. It's positive and negative.
- 3:50Speaker 1: It's God. It's Satan. Now this is at work all
- 3:54Speaker 1: the time.
- 3:56Speaker 2: So if you're not being positive about everything, you leave
- 4:00Speaker 2: room for negativity to step in. If you're not trying
- 4:04Speaker 2: to be righteous in your way, then you allow evil
- 4:08Speaker 2: to step in. If you don't work on your relationship
- 4:12Speaker 2: with God, come on now, look who you letting step in.
- 4:18Speaker 2: So now I'm asking you, To understand that God never
- 4:23Speaker 2: puts more on you than you can bear. Okay, now
- 4:25Speaker 2: that we got that clear, that's a fact. Okay, now
- 4:28Speaker 2: with that fact in mind, let's go over this right here.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Why would God, being as just and merciful as he is,
- 4:36Speaker 2: put more on you than you can bear? Example, if
- 4:41Speaker 2: God has given you blessings and all you're doing is
- 4:45Speaker 2: complaining about them, you're never showing any appreciation or gratitude
- 4:49Speaker 2: about it. Why would he give you some more stuff
- 4:52Speaker 2: to be ungrateful for? Why would he give you some
- 4:55Speaker 2: more stuff to complain about? Why would he give you
- 4:58Speaker 2: some more stuff that you would not show any more
- 5:00Speaker 2: appreciation for?
- 5:02Speaker 1: I mean, this thing is real simple, man, ain't it?
- 5:04Speaker 1: If you think about it.
- 5:06Speaker 2: So a lot of times, man, when I was going
- 5:08Speaker 2: through my positions of not having and wondering and all
- 5:11Speaker 2: like here, I ended up checking myself and going, man,
- 5:14Speaker 2: I'm not even showing any gratitude or appreciation for the
- 5:17Speaker 2: things he has done for me. Start showing some appreciation
- 5:21Speaker 2: and gratitude because it's the key to having more.
- 5:24Speaker 1: It's the key to continued blessings.
- 5:27Speaker 2: It's the key to the windows of heaven opening up
- 5:30Speaker 2: and pouring out a blessing that you won't have room
- 5:32Speaker 2: enough to receive. It's the appreciation and gratitude of what
- 5:37Speaker 2: you already have. As minimal as it may appear to
- 5:42Speaker 2: be right now for you, it is still what you have.
- 5:46Speaker 2: But if you've shown no gratitude for the minimal, why?
- 5:54Speaker 1: Would he give you the maximum?
- 5:57Speaker 2: I mean, I'm just really just trying to put it real,
- 6:00Speaker 2: real simple so I can keep understanding this thing right here.
- 6:04Speaker 2: So let me give you an example in my life.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I had gotten so busy at one point that I
- 6:11Speaker 2: had began to complain about how busy I was. This
- 6:17Speaker 2: is true because I am busy, but it ain't the
- 6:21Speaker 2: busy part. Because I asked to be busy. You know,
- 6:25Speaker 2: I asked God to give me opportunities and to make
- 6:29Speaker 2: a way for me. Well, in that you got to
- 6:31Speaker 2: do something and you got to get busy. But I
- 6:35Speaker 2: began to complain about the busyness and how busy I was.
- 6:40Speaker 2: And I noticed that a couple of things slowed up
- 6:42Speaker 2: for me. So I got to the point where I
- 6:46Speaker 2: wasn't showing real gratitude for it. Well, I looked up
- 6:50Speaker 2: and a couple of things started slowing down. And then
- 6:52Speaker 2: I had to catch myself and I went, wow, man,
- 6:55Speaker 2: you have got to start embracing the fact that you
- 6:59Speaker 2: are this busy. Embrace the fact that what all comes
- 7:03Speaker 2: along with it, because to whom much is given, much
- 7:05Speaker 2: is required. You got to start embracing the requirement part
- 7:10Speaker 2: if you want to continue with the given part.
- 7:13Speaker 1: So I changed my attitude.
- 7:15Speaker 2: I caught myself and I started thanking him and showing
- 7:18Speaker 2: real gratitude for how busy I was instead of complaining
- 7:21Speaker 2: about how busy I was.
- 7:22Speaker 1: And then guess what?
- 7:23Speaker 2: It opened up the windows of heaven and some more
- 7:25Speaker 2: blessings got poured out. It just works that way all
- 7:28Speaker 2: the time for everybody, for me, for you, for everybody.
- 7:33Speaker 2: So listen, y'all, again, your appreciation and gratitude is the
- 7:37Speaker 2: key to having more. Your appreciation and gratitude is the
- 7:40Speaker 2: key to continued blessings. And your appreciation and gratitude is
- 7:45Speaker 2: the only way that you can get Those windows of
- 7:48Speaker 2: heaven open up and pull out these blessings that you
- 7:50Speaker 2: won't have room enough to receive. You got to act
- 7:53Speaker 2: like you're glad for what you got in order to
- 7:55Speaker 2: get more.
- 7:56Speaker 1: You feel me? Let's go. You're listening to the Steve
- 8:00Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show.
