- 0:13Speaker 1: First Light Go farther, stay longer, and now your hosts
- 0:18Speaker 1: Case Smith and Tyler Jones.
- 0:21Speaker 2: This is rutfresh Radio and I'm your host Tyler Jones.
- 0:24Speaker 2: This week we hear from hunters around the country who
- 0:26Speaker 2: saw the benefits of a cold front and are working
- 0:29Speaker 2: to understand native vegetation versus agriculture, how and when the
- 0:33Speaker 2: deer relating to both, and what will happen in the
- 0:35Speaker 2: next week.
- 0:36Speaker 3: This is rutfresh. Let's go.
- 0:47Speaker 2: This is rutfresh, brought to you by first Light Gear.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I'm your host Tyler Jones. Case Smith's in the house
- 0:53Speaker 2: with me too, hosting this thing. And we have been
- 0:57Speaker 2: working hard the last week in Texas, of all places. Case,
- 1:02Speaker 2: why would you work hard in a place that's as
- 1:04Speaker 2: hot as Texas in the middle of October.
- 1:06Speaker 3: Tyler's just sometimes some people work hard and that's just
- 1:09Speaker 3: what they do, even whenever it doesn't benefit that much. Yeah,
- 1:14Speaker 3: you know what I mean. So maybe we should work less,
- 1:17Speaker 3: but in fact, I don't know, man, I just don't
- 1:20Speaker 3: think that's how we're wired. And tell you the truth,
- 1:25Speaker 3: hard work doesn't always mean success, but it is a
- 1:30Speaker 3: better way to find success than to just sit around,
- 1:33Speaker 3: so you can get out and find some new stuff out,
- 1:37Speaker 3: figure out your own little place in this world sometimes.
- 1:43Speaker 3: You know, it's it's pretty conventional thought that the rut
- 1:47Speaker 3: in Texas is later than the Midwest. However that's not
- 1:53Speaker 3: always the case. Texas is huge, Texas is huge, huge, huge,
- 1:57Speaker 3: and uh, you know, they're there's a lot of different
- 2:01Speaker 3: ruts in Texas. We've talked about it on our podcast
- 2:03Speaker 3: quite a bit over the years, and I mean we've
- 2:07Speaker 3: got ruts from what September to you know, mid to
- 2:11Speaker 3: late December that that's and that's like that is not
- 2:15Speaker 3: just like saying that the deer ruddy, but that's saying
- 2:17Speaker 3: like that is the absolute rage of the rut, you
- 2:20Speaker 3: know what I mean, that's that is the time that
- 2:22Speaker 3: they are chasing the best week of the year. It
- 2:25Speaker 3: goes from I mean, there's just a huge range because
- 2:27Speaker 3: we've got a big coast, and we've got desert mountains
- 2:31Speaker 3: that look like Mexico, and we've got the high planes,
- 2:33Speaker 3: carbl mountain white tails. Michael Wadell showed a big one
- 2:35Speaker 3: of those one time, did he? Yeah, sure enough. That's
- 2:37Speaker 3: when I learned that that existed. Really yep from Michael Wadell.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Michael Wadell, what a guy. He knows some stuff. Man,
- 2:44Speaker 3: He's been there, seen that.
- 2:45Speaker 4: You know.
- 2:46Speaker 3: I want to target from him. One time.
- 2:49Speaker 2: They did one of those caption this best caption wins
- 2:52Speaker 2: a target and uh, you know that dice block out there,
- 2:56Speaker 2: that's the one on that I said white l for President. Anyway,
- 3:04Speaker 2: So yeah, what you were saying, though, and I guess
- 3:06Speaker 2: probably what you're leading to, is that there are some
- 3:09Speaker 2: ruts going on right now, and you and I decided
- 3:12Speaker 2: to travel a little ways recently do some different things,
- 3:17Speaker 2: and I actually went hunting on some public land and
- 3:21Speaker 2: in one night might have had something go my way.
- 3:25Speaker 2: We'll talk more about that on our podcast, the Element podcast,
- 3:28Speaker 2: later on. But the fact of the matter is this
- 3:32Speaker 2: is Rut Fresh Radio and we are talking about a
- 3:36Speaker 2: rut going on in Texas right now. We hadn't really
- 3:38Speaker 2: been able to talk about ruts anywhere, I don't think,
- 3:41Speaker 2: on this podcast yet this year, and there were some
- 3:47Speaker 2: ruddy ruddy things happening. And in fact, it was a
- 3:50Speaker 2: cold front day, which I alluded to earlier in the
- 3:52Speaker 2: intro of this podcast that guys are finding some success
- 3:54Speaker 2: on cold fronts. We had a cold front day that
- 3:57Speaker 2: coincided with a certain areas maybe beginning of its rut,
- 4:02Speaker 2: and the things happened, and we saw the trail cameras
- 4:07Speaker 2: light up. We were noticing like raccoons in the middle
- 4:10Speaker 2: of the day walking around and just the open and
- 4:13Speaker 2: that's how you know, man, the animals were moving, they
- 4:15Speaker 2: were feeling frisky. It's like that first day of football
- 4:18Speaker 2: practice when there's a little north wind and it's finally
- 4:22Speaker 2: not ninety five. Just everybody's in a better mood and
- 4:25Speaker 2: everybody wants to run around, you know, on the football field.
- 4:28Speaker 2: And that's the way it is in the woods. And
- 4:29Speaker 2: that was the day that that happened. It was a
- 4:32Speaker 2: it was a pretty fun day. So anyway, you went
- 4:36Speaker 2: and did some stuff in a different area where there's
- 4:39Speaker 2: a different.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Rut and there's no ruddy stuff happening, no ready stuff.
- 4:43Speaker 3: So I was and yeah, there's a lot of curves. Man,
- 4:46Speaker 3: I'm ready for the spring out there. You'll if you
- 4:50Speaker 3: follow what we do is the element. You'll see a
- 4:52Speaker 3: lot of videos coming from this particular property that we
- 4:55Speaker 3: got access to up in the Panhandle. I went up
- 4:58Speaker 3: and did a bunch of prep work there, and it's
- 5:03Speaker 3: about eight hundred acres and I saw one rub which
- 5:06Speaker 3: was nice to see. But we did see some deer
- 5:08Speaker 3: a few doos around. There's a wheat plot planted dirt
- 5:14Speaker 3: though there's nothing coming up any yet, so they need
- 5:16Speaker 3: a little moisture. I'm out there. But yeah, So it's
- 5:21Speaker 3: like the regionality of things was very apparent to me
- 5:23Speaker 3: this week because we can be, you know, in the
- 5:27Speaker 3: oaks and pines and potentially be seeing some deer doing
- 5:31Speaker 3: some snooping, and then you go out there and nah, yeah,
- 5:34Speaker 3: so you know, I'm not this is kind of a
- 5:38Speaker 3: joke around here. But I'm not a big moon guy,
- 5:41Speaker 3: you know. Yeah, I'm not much of a mooner, as
- 5:44Speaker 3: they say. But I do think that potentially, I kind
- 5:52Speaker 3: of think just like the lunar cycle with specifically according
- 5:56Speaker 3: to the light that the moon provides makes a difference.
- 6:00Speaker 3: I don't think that the deer, this is my personal opinion.
- 6:03Speaker 3: I don't think that the deer feeling the pull of
- 6:05Speaker 3: the moon, like a tide on the ocean does or
- 6:07Speaker 3: anything like that, and it makes them get out of
- 6:09Speaker 3: bed or whatever. But I think that and this kind
- 6:13Speaker 3: of goes across all animals that are kind of that
- 6:18Speaker 3: crepuscular type. Cruppuscular I think those are early in that
- 6:22Speaker 3: it is. But anyways, I think that when you have
- 6:28Speaker 3: a full moon, deer can do stuff all night long,
- 6:32Speaker 3: and it actually is pretty similar movement to a new moon,
- 6:36Speaker 3: which was means no moon. But when you have these
- 6:38Speaker 3: half moons, you'll have a lot of moonlight, either early
- 6:42Speaker 3: in the evening or early in the morning, you know
- 6:45Speaker 3: what I mean, Like either side of the midnight, you'll
- 6:48Speaker 3: have more light, and it kind of effects what you're
- 6:50Speaker 3: going to see with deer movement for the next morning
- 6:54Speaker 3: of the next evening. So I think that this past
- 6:57Speaker 3: week we were experiencing some of that where right now
- 7:01Speaker 3: you have just a little fingernail, so there's just not
- 7:04Speaker 3: a lot difference. But before that, I think that there
- 7:07Speaker 3: was a little bit of that whole The moon's hanging
- 7:09Speaker 3: in the morning, so you're gonna see some stuff. But anyways,
- 7:13Speaker 3: that kind of all goes back to say, where I
- 7:17Speaker 3: didn't see a lot of activity out there, because I
- 7:19Speaker 3: think there's a lot of deer doing stuff at night
- 7:23Speaker 3: because yeah, they don't have a reason to get out
- 7:26Speaker 3: because it's no rut. There's no bucks cruising or doing anything.
- 7:29Speaker 3: And we didn't even see you know, I drove a
- 7:31Speaker 3: good portion of the state yesterday evening in dear time,
- 7:36Speaker 3: you know, and I didn't see any bucks on their feet. Yeah,
- 7:38Speaker 3: so things are still. The best is yet to come. Still,
- 7:43Speaker 3: that's encouraging.
- 7:44Speaker 5: You know.
- 7:45Speaker 3: You talk about this some, but like you get to
- 7:47Speaker 3: like November eighteenth or nineteenth, and you can feel real
- 7:50Speaker 3: depressed because it's like, oh, the thing has came and went.
- 7:53Speaker 3: But that's not the case. And we'll talk more about
- 7:54Speaker 3: that as the year progresses. And that's kind of what
- 7:58Speaker 3: rutfresh is about, is to give you the up to
- 8:00Speaker 3: today information as to what's going on in your neck
- 8:03Speaker 3: of the woods right now. So, Tyler, who do we
- 8:06Speaker 3: have today on refresh Man.
- 8:08Speaker 2: We've got the gamut, We've got people in all the
- 8:11Speaker 2: different corners of the US as much as possible.
- 8:14Speaker 3: At least.
- 8:14Speaker 2: We've got Chris Nickerson. He's up in Maine, which he
- 8:17Speaker 2: refers to as a place that's called South Canada. We
- 8:22Speaker 2: got Mike Hunsucker from Harlan bow Hunter. He's been hunting
- 8:24Speaker 2: in Missouri, had some success there, got some good a
- 8:26Speaker 2: good report for US, Tyler Jorden and Georgia out there
- 8:30Speaker 2: in Georgia. And then Graham Cronin from Vortex. He is
- 8:35Speaker 2: a Wisconsin guy who is you know, a knowledgeable white
- 8:41Speaker 2: tail hunter in what potentially is the greatest white tail
- 8:45Speaker 2: state that there's ever been.
- 8:46Speaker 3: Yeah, if you look at Boone Crockett right in that
- 8:48Speaker 3: wild yep, Buffalo County. It was a question on media
- 8:52Speaker 3: or trivia the other day and I got it wrong
- 8:54Speaker 3: because I just had the brain block thing. But it's
- 8:56Speaker 3: like the top county for Boone Crockett in records. And
- 9:01Speaker 3: it's like, I don't think of Wisconsin as in my
- 9:03Speaker 3: top five for white tail states, but it is. It's
- 9:06Speaker 3: because of your so called propaganda probably it's also it
- 9:11Speaker 3: really is a reflection of like my geographic location, you know,
- 9:17Speaker 3: like there's and it's because there's a lot of good
- 9:19Speaker 3: stuff to drive through to get to wisc. Consin that dude,
- 9:22Speaker 3: it is hard. But if you're you know, from you know, Michigan,
- 9:26Speaker 3: you might think differently. Yeah, that's right, man, Mark Marcus.
- 9:30Speaker 3: All right, anyways, enough of what I got to say.
- 9:33Speaker 3: You got some good stuff to say. But let's see
- 9:35Speaker 3: what these guys have to say. I've got Chris Nickerson.
- 9:39Speaker 3: He's up in Maine right now. Chris, what's going on?
- 9:42Speaker 6: Hey, man, I'm doing uh actually, just took a quick
- 9:45Speaker 6: break here.
- 9:45Speaker 5: I was doing some scouting this morning.
- 9:47Speaker 6: Half my morning set, and I am sitting on a
- 9:49Speaker 6: nice piece of granted in between two cornfields.
- 9:51Speaker 3: Right now, man, is that where the bucks are sitting?
- 9:54Speaker 5: There are zero.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Bucks here in the state. You know, at least somewhere
- 10:01Speaker 3: around there.
- 10:02Speaker 5: We've got some good bucks in the state. They're just
- 10:04Speaker 5: fewer far Petral.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:05Speaker 2: That's cool, man. I'd love to go up there, but
- 10:07Speaker 2: you know, it's about near, like going to a different
- 10:09Speaker 2: country from Texas.
- 10:11Speaker 6: So I jokingly tell my friends in the south this
- 10:13Speaker 6: is They ask where I'm from.
- 10:14Speaker 5: I say South Canada.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I feel like there's some Canada that
- 10:19Speaker 3: south of you there, but I'm not.
- 10:20Speaker 5: Sure they're actually for sure.
- 10:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 10:23Speaker 3: So what are the deer doing right now? Man?
- 10:26Speaker 5: I'll be honest, it's pretty tough.
- 10:27Speaker 6: Right now.
- 10:27Speaker 5: The deer are doing not a lot of anything.
- 10:30Speaker 4: We've got a lot.
- 10:31Speaker 6: I'm having a friend's farm here that I've got access to,
- 10:34Speaker 6: you know, between four and five hundred acres.
- 10:36Speaker 5: We've got cameras and very diverse parts of this.
- 10:39Speaker 6: Farm, and we're getting absolutely no day like pictures of
- 10:41Speaker 6: even dose right now. It's very tough. Yeah, it's very
- 10:45Speaker 6: very little movement right now. So I've been on five
- 10:48Speaker 6: sits so far on my trip up here and have
- 10:51Speaker 6: not had any activity at all. So it's gonna be
- 10:53Speaker 6: a tough one for me here.
- 10:54Speaker 3: So but you're getting some night photos. I guess we are.
- 10:59Speaker 6: I recently the last night got on a nice scrape line,
- 11:02Speaker 6: got a medium sized buck coming out.
- 11:04Speaker 3: But it's all.
- 11:05Speaker 6: Between mid nine four a m of everything we're getting
- 11:07Speaker 6: right now.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Yeah, man, it's crazy. But if you travel to hunt
- 11:10Speaker 2: medium sized bucks or shooters a lot of times, you know.
- 11:13Speaker 6: Uh, if this guy shows himself with dinglight, I'm probably
- 11:16Speaker 6: gonna have a hard time resisting.
- 11:18Speaker 5: So yeah, gantee your conditions anyways.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Yeah, are you so or any of you've got cameras
- 11:23Speaker 2: over scrapes? Do you have them over any cornfields or
- 11:27Speaker 2: anything like that?
- 11:28Speaker 6: We do, We've got We've got a few on some cornfield,
- 11:31Speaker 6: edges that brown up against in alfalfa field that's split
- 11:34Speaker 6: down the middle. We've got you know, deep in the
- 11:37Speaker 6: wounds on the fields, some heavy travel paths. You know,
- 11:40Speaker 6: we've got a pretty diverse the camera.
- 11:43Speaker 2: So yeah, yeah, okay, So but you're seeing that pictures,
- 11:48Speaker 2: you you're assuming those deer are betting somewhere, but you're
- 11:52Speaker 2: having trouble, I guess locating the betting.
- 11:55Speaker 5: I am.
- 11:55Speaker 6: And there's a there's such a diverse terrain here and
- 11:58Speaker 6: in this part of Man that you've got everything from
- 12:00Speaker 6: really swampy, you know, creek beds to higher areas with
- 12:05Speaker 6: you know a lot of hardwoods, and locating buckbeds is
- 12:08Speaker 6: very tough. I've only found one in the last five
- 12:10Speaker 6: days here, so it's it's it's a challenge.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Are the Do you think any of those hardwoods are
- 12:15Speaker 2: creating problems as far as like dropping a bunch of
- 12:17Speaker 2: feeder right now?
- 12:19Speaker 5: That's actually something I've been looking for today.
- 12:21Speaker 6: I've I've spent a good majority of today walking since
- 12:23Speaker 6: I got out of my morning set looking for some
- 12:25Speaker 6: some acorns, and I've even had a tough time locating
- 12:28Speaker 6: anything like that.
- 12:29Speaker 5: It seems that most of the deer here are just
- 12:31Speaker 5: browsing and.
- 12:32Speaker 6: Gainings, and everything is chewed off all the top, You're
- 12:35Speaker 6: chewed off everywhere to go.
- 12:36Speaker 5: It's almost like they're just constantly and it's a tough it's.
- 12:41Speaker 6: Challenged to find a solid food source you.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Can pattern off.
- 12:45Speaker 2: I got you, Okay, So I guess you know going
- 12:50Speaker 2: forward into the next week, you know, what's the weather
- 12:53Speaker 2: going to be like up there? Is there any Is
- 12:55Speaker 2: there any hope?
- 12:58Speaker 6: This weekend it's actually gonna warm up, which is not
- 13:00Speaker 6: what you want to see. We've done pretty steadily in
- 13:03Speaker 6: the you know, highs of fifty eight to sixty which
- 13:05Speaker 6: hasn't been terrible, and it's been very consistent weather, so.
- 13:09Speaker 5: Nothing's really changing.
- 13:10Speaker 6: And it's actually gonna warm up just to tad this
- 13:12Speaker 6: weekend into probably sixty two sixty three degrees, which is
- 13:16Speaker 6: what you want to see, but not a crazy change,
- 13:18Speaker 6: but not not exactly the right direction I'd like to
- 13:20Speaker 6: see either.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Is it is it worth looking at water sources when
- 13:24Speaker 2: it gets hotter like that?
- 13:26Speaker 3: This time?
- 13:26Speaker 6: Up up here, there's so much water that it's really
- 13:29Speaker 6: not an issue. And all there's water almost every way
- 13:32Speaker 6: you turn around.
- 13:32Speaker 3: Here, gotcha? Okay?
- 13:34Speaker 2: So uh, with the with the attempts warming up, I guess,
- 13:39Speaker 2: and then maybe you know, you know what what's ideal
- 13:42Speaker 2: is like when you get that warmer weather and then
- 13:43Speaker 2: if you're able to hunt the cold front on the
- 13:45Speaker 2: backside of that thing, especially as we get later in October,
- 13:48Speaker 2: you know, that could be really good. You know, what
- 13:52Speaker 2: would you be doing in the next seven days or
- 13:54Speaker 2: so based off of weather or photo period or whatever.
- 13:58Speaker 5: For me, I think at this point, I would just continue.
- 14:01Speaker 6: To do a little bit of what I'm starting to
- 14:02Speaker 6: do today is trying to locate a little bit more
- 14:04Speaker 6: of a.
- 14:05Speaker 4: Solid food source.
- 14:06Speaker 5: Because I think even with the weather change, I think
- 14:08Speaker 5: right now food is king. They know winter's coming and
- 14:12Speaker 5: preparing for that.
- 14:13Speaker 6: I think these bigger bucks, like the one, the ones
- 14:15Speaker 6: I'm chasing, they've got a food source somewhere that I
- 14:17Speaker 6: just haven't gotten onto yet. These ag fields are kind
- 14:20Speaker 6: of being picked clean. The corn's kind of on its
- 14:22Speaker 6: way out. There's not a lot out here, so they're
- 14:24Speaker 6: not really showing themselves in the field. So I think,
- 14:26Speaker 6: like you mentioned, you know, getting on some acorns, food
- 14:28Speaker 6: sources like that that are a little bit more rich
- 14:30Speaker 6: in protein.
- 14:30Speaker 5: I think that's kind of where it's at.
- 14:32Speaker 3: Gotcha?
- 14:32Speaker 2: Okay, Well, in this next week, if you were to
- 14:36Speaker 2: make an assumption about buck movement on a scale of
- 14:40Speaker 2: one to ten, what would you rate that buck movement as?
- 14:43Speaker 6: I think I'm gonna be real honest and give it probably,
- 14:48Speaker 6: you know, smack in the middle of four and a
- 14:50Speaker 6: half of five. I don't think you're too much movement.
- 14:52Speaker 6: I think that's been been fair and I do think
- 14:56Speaker 6: there's gonna be much changes. So I think a solid
- 14:57Speaker 6: four and after five is where it's going to be.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Hey, well, Chris, I appreciate the report, man, and all
- 15:02Speaker 2: the information.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Uh.
- 15:03Speaker 2: I like it when you know people people talk fast
- 15:05Speaker 2: on here because we can get a lot done in
- 15:07Speaker 2: five minutes, you know what I mean.
- 15:08Speaker 3: So I appreciate it. Man, Thanks for everything, and I
- 15:10Speaker 3: hope you have a great season anytime.
- 15:12Speaker 5: Thanks for having me.
- 15:14Speaker 2: Now on the phone, I've got Michael Hunsucker from Heartland
- 15:16Speaker 2: bow Hunter. Michael, what's going on, man?
- 15:19Speaker 3: Not much?
- 15:20Speaker 4: Just in the archery shop getting getting some new bows
- 15:23Speaker 4: set up.
- 15:23Speaker 3: Oh really? How about sure? That's cool? You your your
- 15:28Speaker 3: current bon won't shoot good enough? True?
- 15:31Speaker 7: Yeah, I had to just it's just fine. But I'm
- 15:33Speaker 7: always tinkering.
- 15:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, man, you are.
- 15:35Speaker 2: I'll tell you what. I sent you this message on
- 15:38Speaker 2: Instagram of the day. But uh, you you know you
- 15:41Speaker 2: shot a buck recently and you hit him real good
- 15:43Speaker 2: and you usually do. Is that is the archery stuff?
- 15:47Speaker 2: Just a three sixty five for you always doing that?
- 15:51Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean, I mean I live and breathe up
- 15:53Speaker 7: for sure, but I mean definitely don't always always hit
- 15:55Speaker 7: them exactly where you want to hit them. Actually had
- 15:58Speaker 7: a couple experiences last year where you just hit him
- 16:01Speaker 7: just a little bit, a little bit off that spot
- 16:03Speaker 7: and it can make.
- 16:04Speaker 4: A world of difference.
- 16:05Speaker 7: So that's kind of cool about archery hunting though, is
- 16:08Speaker 7: you know I'm still learning. I've been doing this a
- 16:10Speaker 7: long time and still learning every every day.
- 16:12Speaker 3: Sure.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a big challenge man. Well, so the cats
- 16:15Speaker 2: out of the bag. You shot a deer year in
- 16:17Speaker 2: Missouri and he's a nice buck. I saw the I
- 16:21Speaker 2: guess like POV footage, but it looked like the deer
- 16:26Speaker 2: was coming into food, Is that correct?
- 16:29Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 16:29Speaker 7: What what little food was there? We had a brutal,
- 16:32Speaker 7: brutal year for food plots, but yeah, he was coming
- 16:34Speaker 7: to a green, green plot.
- 16:36Speaker 3: Gotcha, so brutal because of drought.
- 16:40Speaker 7: Yep, brutal because of the drought and just just horrible
- 16:42Speaker 7: drought and just really high high late summer temperatures.
- 16:46Speaker 2: So is that would you say that the green food
- 16:48Speaker 2: sources are performing better than like the grain right now?
- 16:52Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 16:53Speaker 7: Absolutely, it seems like acorns and green food sources of
- 16:56Speaker 7: the play gotcha.
- 16:58Speaker 2: So I know it looked like you've been hunt that
- 17:00Speaker 2: deer a little bit and had some encounters with him
- 17:03Speaker 2: so far. Was it all in the same area or
- 17:06Speaker 2: is he doing different things?
- 17:08Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 17:08Speaker 7: He was really tight to an area and really wasn't
- 17:12Speaker 7: moving much honestly at all in daylight.
- 17:15Speaker 5: I mean I knew exactly where he was betted.
- 17:18Speaker 7: And had a couple of encounters with him. Previous one
- 17:22Speaker 7: had an in bow range after dark. Well it was
- 17:25Speaker 7: legal light, so I could illegally shot him, but I
- 17:26Speaker 7: didn't feel comfortable taking the shot twenty five yards even.
- 17:30Speaker 7: And then I had a couple other encounters with him,
- 17:33Speaker 7: once where kyote spooked him and he got got away,
- 17:36Speaker 7: but he was in bow range, So I had him
- 17:37Speaker 7: in bo range twice before I finally killed him. O man,
- 17:39Speaker 7: And I did see him a third time off off
- 17:43Speaker 7: in the distance, but all three times were within one
- 17:45Speaker 7: hundred and fifty two hundred.
- 17:46Speaker 4: Yards to circle radius.
- 17:47Speaker 3: Wow, what kind of vegetation is he betting in?
- 17:51Speaker 7: He's actually bedded in. It's almost like kind of swamp
- 17:55Speaker 7: swampy type stuff. It's below a pond and big cottonwoods,
- 18:00Speaker 7: but then tons of native grass and really tall grasses,
- 18:05Speaker 7: so it's a it's a thick area. It's you know,
- 18:08Speaker 7: sometimes deer like the bed up on ridgetops where they
- 18:11Speaker 7: have high visibility and they you know, utilize the wind
- 18:14Speaker 7: in their favor. This buck was just holding up.
- 18:16Speaker 3: And he was smart, gotcha.
- 18:18Speaker 2: So it looked like to me in the video when
- 18:21Speaker 2: he came into the field, he kind of was doing
- 18:23Speaker 2: some frisky stuff. Was he feeling the right at all,
- 18:26Speaker 2: you think, or was it just something different?
- 18:28Speaker 7: I don't know. I mean that cold snap had him
- 18:29Speaker 7: all kind of feeling a little bit frisky. They little
- 18:33Speaker 7: bucks were sparring.
- 18:34Speaker 4: This buck. He jumped a.
- 18:35Speaker 7: Fence and there was a couple of the deer in
- 18:37Speaker 7: the plot, so he was approaching them. But I think
- 18:40Speaker 7: more than anything, it was just his just his getting
- 18:43Speaker 7: his big body over those logs and jumping the fence.
- 18:45Speaker 7: You know, he had his momentum.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Going yeah, yeah, I did, man, that's cool.
- 18:48Speaker 7: So I was anticipating him just you know, going to
- 18:51Speaker 7: slow down, stop start feeding, but he just kept on trotting,
- 18:53Speaker 7: so I'd actually stop him, which I you know, I
- 18:55Speaker 7: don't like to do unless you have to.
- 18:57Speaker 2: You you got that soft grunt, stop down, man, you
- 19:01Speaker 2: gotta yeah, you got to stop them with the softest
- 19:03Speaker 2: grunt you can get them with usually, because if you don't,
- 19:06Speaker 2: they're gonna get real tense, real quick, you know.
- 19:09Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I feel like that every situation is a
- 19:11Speaker 7: little different with that. You know that one worked with
- 19:14Speaker 7: the soft grunt. Last year, I had one of those
- 19:15Speaker 7: crunching through leaves and you could have yelled at the
- 19:17Speaker 7: begining to stop. So it's just you never you never know.
- 19:20Speaker 2: Yep, yep, that's right man. Well, So in the next
- 19:23Speaker 2: week or so, do you expect to still be able
- 19:26Speaker 2: to shoot deer on green food sources or are things
- 19:29Speaker 2: going to change?
- 19:29Speaker 3: You think?
- 19:31Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 19:31Speaker 4: I think so.
- 19:31Speaker 7: I mean I think if you have good green food
- 19:33Speaker 7: sources and they're not and they're not like just locked
- 19:35Speaker 7: in on some a orange dropping, I think that they're
- 19:39Speaker 7: usually the key Clover, Nebraska's turn ups that type of stuff.
- 19:44Speaker 7: But it really just kind of depends. And you know
- 19:46Speaker 7: this this next week coming up, we've had some nice
- 19:50Speaker 7: little cold snaps here and there. It looks like we
- 19:51Speaker 7: got one coming up on Thursday. It's kind of cool
- 19:53Speaker 7: off a little bit, but after that gets back up
- 19:55Speaker 7: into the warm, warmer temperatures mid seventies, and so that's
- 19:58Speaker 7: going to really slow things back down.
- 20:00Speaker 2: M hm. So if you were looking forward to say
- 20:02Speaker 2: the next seven days or so, if you had to
- 20:05Speaker 2: predict what Buck movement would be on a scale of
- 20:07Speaker 2: one to ten based off those variables you talked about,
- 20:10Speaker 2: what would you what would you put it at.
- 20:13Speaker 7: I'm gonna say I'm gonna put it probably like a six,
- 20:15Speaker 7: six or seven. It's not not looking great.
- 20:18Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that's a if we can get a front
- 20:22Speaker 2: though after that and that timing will work out really well.
- 20:25Speaker 2: I feel like where that you know, last part of
- 20:28Speaker 2: October and first part of November is going to really
- 20:30Speaker 2: be on fire. So that's it's exciting that that's the
- 20:33Speaker 2: that's the potential in the next couple of weeks, you know.
- 20:35Speaker 7: Yeah, absolutely, I mean, very vary into in the weather
- 20:38Speaker 7: is key. I mean, you can't just if it was
- 20:40Speaker 7: just cool, you know, for weeks on end, you know,
- 20:42Speaker 7: it wouldn't be as powerful as when it's warm in
- 20:44Speaker 7: the boom it drops out and then just just really
- 20:47Speaker 7: triggers them.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Absolutely well. I appreciate it, Mike. I look forward to
- 20:51Speaker 2: seeing the full video on that deer at some point,
- 20:53Speaker 2: and I hope you guys have a great rest of
- 20:55Speaker 2: your season.
- 20:56Speaker 5: Thanks buddying you too.
- 21:13Speaker 2: All right, on the phone, I've got Tyler Jordy from
- 21:15Speaker 2: Real Tree. Tyler, it's crazy. We just got on the
- 21:18Speaker 2: phone with each other for the first time, never met,
- 21:21Speaker 2: and we're best friends.
- 21:22Speaker 8: I know, we're best friends, and you're coming to an
- 21:24Speaker 8: old mess game next weekend.
- 21:26Speaker 4: But that's how good are friends. We just became.
- 21:27Speaker 2: I feel at a lot of peer pressure right now. Man,
- 21:31Speaker 2: Well man, what's been going on. I know you've been
- 21:33Speaker 2: hunting a little bit. Has it been pretty good?
- 21:36Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, it's been pretty good.
- 21:37Speaker 8: You know, the last four or five days I would say,
- 21:40Speaker 8: have been definitely better, probably the best it's been, you know,
- 21:43Speaker 8: up to this point in the you know, in the season.
- 21:46Speaker 8: And you know, my little brother shot a buck last Sunday,
- 21:51Speaker 8: and you know, for Youth Weekend with a rifle, So
- 21:54Speaker 8: really excited about that, and you know, just trying to
- 21:57Speaker 8: take advantage of that first cold front. You know, that's
- 22:00Speaker 8: really kind of my favorite time to hunt is when
- 22:03Speaker 8: you have those first you know, two or three days
- 22:05Speaker 8: and it gets you know, cooler weather.
- 22:08Speaker 3: You know.
- 22:08Speaker 8: So it was happy for for Colton that we were
- 22:10Speaker 8: able to get a good solid eight pointer on the
- 22:12Speaker 8: ground and you know, have another big deer that we're
- 22:15Speaker 8: trying to hunt. But uh, you know, unfortunately, I think
- 22:18Speaker 8: the weather's really going to warm up later this week.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Yeah, so you you and Colton shot this deer. What
- 22:23Speaker 2: was he doing?
- 22:26Speaker 4: He actually came into a food plot.
- 22:28Speaker 8: You know, we were we were hunting this food plot
- 22:30Speaker 8: where this deer we've seen him in several times. You know,
- 22:34Speaker 8: he's been on camera and I will say he has
- 22:36Speaker 8: not really been daylight at all. Uh, but you know,
- 22:39Speaker 8: we just kind of went in there thinking, man, you know,
- 22:41Speaker 8: take advantage of this cooler weather. And then the first
- 22:44Speaker 8: thing he did when he entered the food plot, he
- 22:46Speaker 8: came in and checked the scrape and we got all
- 22:48Speaker 8: that on camera and hopefully we'll put that up here,
- 22:50Speaker 8: you know, sometime soon on on our you know, road
- 22:53Speaker 8: trip show. But came in there checked the scrape, and
- 22:56Speaker 8: you know he was kind of, you know, bumping doze
- 22:59Speaker 8: just a little bit. You know, they were feeling a
- 23:02Speaker 8: little bit frisky with his cooler weather. But yeah, that's
- 23:05Speaker 8: kind of what he was doing when he came in.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Man, that's cool. So this is a green food source,
- 23:09Speaker 2: I'm guessing right, yes, bid Cloverfield. Okay, And was this
- 23:14Speaker 2: a mock scrape or had this been put up set
- 23:15Speaker 2: up by the deer.
- 23:16Speaker 4: No, this has been set up by the deer.
- 23:18Speaker 2: Oh cool man. So as far as you know other
- 23:22Speaker 2: food sources, have you seen deer hitting any acrons or
- 23:25Speaker 2: anything like that, any oak trees or Yeah.
- 23:28Speaker 8: So that's been the primary, you know, food source, I
- 23:30Speaker 8: would say over the last probably two weeks, Tyler is
- 23:34Speaker 8: you know, I feel like that's what a lot of
- 23:36Speaker 8: these deer are doing. They've been a little bit just
- 23:38Speaker 8: more reclusive. You know, there's just plenty of cover and food.
- 23:41Speaker 8: I mean, I walked around today, you know, trying to
- 23:43Speaker 8: pick up this bigger bug that I've been trying to
- 23:46Speaker 8: hunt since really the beginning of the season. And I
- 23:49Speaker 8: mean everywhere you walk, I don't think I've ever seen
- 23:51Speaker 8: an acron drop like this. I mean, we just got
- 23:53Speaker 8: a bunch of red and white oaks kind of falling everywhere,
- 23:56Speaker 8: and which makes it, you know a little bit difficult,
- 23:59Speaker 8: especially with the weather you know warming up right now.
- 24:02Speaker 8: Is you know, just kind of really honing in on
- 24:06Speaker 8: exactly what to do. So, you know, we found an
- 24:08Speaker 8: acorn flat today and I put a camera up and
- 24:11Speaker 8: you know, we'll see kind of what happens. But it
- 24:13Speaker 8: definitely seems like hardwoods and timber is really where you
- 24:18Speaker 8: want to be right now.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Sure, So how important is the cold weather to that
- 24:23Speaker 2: success you had this week?
- 24:25Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I would say it's kind of everything.
- 24:28Speaker 8: You know, I'm probably like I've even kind of contemplated
- 24:31Speaker 8: as much as I do want to go in there
- 24:32Speaker 8: and hunt these these hardwoods. Over the next you know,
- 24:36Speaker 8: three or five days, it's going to be in the
- 24:37Speaker 8: upper seventies, and I just don't know if I want
- 24:40Speaker 8: to do more harm than good. So, you know, I
- 24:43Speaker 8: really think we're going to need that colder weather, and
- 24:45Speaker 8: I don't really know if we're going to get that.
- 24:47Speaker 8: You know, it looks like the twenty ninth and thirtieth
- 24:50Speaker 8: I kind of have circled right now.
- 24:53Speaker 4: You know, the weather is going to be in the.
- 24:54Speaker 8: Lower sixties, you know for highs, and you know, for us,
- 24:57Speaker 8: that's pretty cool weather, you know, because I I think
- 25:00Speaker 8: tomorrow next day, you know, it's going to be seventy seven,
- 25:03Speaker 8: seventy eight, and you know, just my experience, after that
- 25:07Speaker 8: first kind of cold front, the weather goes back that warm.
- 25:10Speaker 8: You know, that's that's kind of what I refer to
- 25:12Speaker 8: a little bit as that October lowll kind of dead period.
- 25:15Speaker 3: Sure, so in your region of Georgia, when is the
- 25:17Speaker 3: rut in your opinion.
- 25:20Speaker 8: You know, I would say, like somewhere like November eighth
- 25:23Speaker 8: to like the fourteenth, I would say, that's probably when
- 25:26Speaker 8: it's you know, really starting to pop off.
- 25:29Speaker 3: Gotcha.
- 25:29Speaker 2: So even even with that cold weather at the end
- 25:32Speaker 2: of the month here that you don't expect it to
- 25:35Speaker 2: be just a ten out of ten going until maybe
- 25:38Speaker 2: two weeks later.
- 25:39Speaker 4: Or so, I would say.
- 25:41Speaker 8: So, I mean, and that's kind of what I'm banking on,
- 25:43Speaker 8: at least for this particular buck that we're hunting, and
- 25:45Speaker 8: you know, for a couple of other ones we have targeted.
- 25:48Speaker 8: You know, I'm I'm probably more looking forward to the
- 25:51Speaker 8: first of November. You know that that's just kind of
- 25:53Speaker 8: where like my head, my head is right now unless
- 25:55Speaker 8: something just drastically changes, you know, I mean.
- 25:59Speaker 4: Not this say, I don't have any hope at all.
- 26:01Speaker 8: Obviously going to go in there and try to maximize
- 26:04Speaker 8: whatever opportunity we can, but you know, kind of looking
- 26:07Speaker 8: forward to the rut.
- 26:09Speaker 2: So you know, if things, if things cool back down
- 26:11Speaker 2: after we get this warm, kind of stagnant stretch here,
- 26:15Speaker 2: would you change anything about what you're like the way
- 26:18Speaker 2: you're hunting, So as far as you know you guys
- 26:20Speaker 2: killed near a scrape on a green field, would you
- 26:24Speaker 2: would you change anything if we were closer to the
- 26:27Speaker 2: end of the month when the weather came in.
- 26:30Speaker 8: Uh, you know, I mean I would probably look at
- 26:34Speaker 8: maybe getting a little bit closer to some of the bedding,
- 26:37Speaker 8: you know, at least at least in my situation where
- 26:40Speaker 8: I think this buck is like he's not really getting
- 26:43Speaker 8: to any of these green fields or any of the
- 26:45Speaker 8: have like some standing corn fields, and we've cut a
- 26:48Speaker 8: portion of it. And like I said on it last night,
- 26:50Speaker 8: and you know, didn't see but one deer the whole night,
- 26:54Speaker 8: and I could see a long ways. I think you know,
- 26:56Speaker 8: if we had that cold front come in again, I
- 26:59Speaker 8: would just try to in the distance a little bit more.
- 27:01Speaker 8: And that's something I may not try, you know, two, three,
- 27:04Speaker 8: four days in a row. I may just try it
- 27:06Speaker 8: once or twice and if it works, it works. But
- 27:09Speaker 8: you know, what I'm what I would like to do
- 27:11Speaker 8: is to get a lot closer to their to their
- 27:14Speaker 8: bedding area. Up to this point, I feel like I've been,
- 27:17Speaker 8: you know, real.
- 27:17Speaker 4: Protective of that.
- 27:19Speaker 8: But if I feel like if I have a good wind,
- 27:22Speaker 8: good weather, you know, that's something I'll probably try to
- 27:25Speaker 8: do different than I haven't done yet.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Sure, so in the next week or so, what do
- 27:30Speaker 2: you think the buck movement is going to be? Based
- 27:34Speaker 2: on a scale of one to ten? What number would
- 27:36Speaker 2: you get it? Give it?
- 27:38Speaker 8: You know that this probably is going to sound a
- 27:40Speaker 8: little bit low, but I you know, i'd.
- 27:42Speaker 4: Probably say even four.
- 27:43Speaker 3: Yeap, good. You know That's that which is kind of
- 27:46Speaker 3: where I'm at.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Everybody's got, you know, get got these optimistic you know, expectations,
- 27:50Speaker 2: and I'm I'm I try to be an optimist too,
- 27:52Speaker 2: but you know, sometimes you just got to be real
- 27:55Speaker 2: with yourself and say, Okay, these are work days. These
- 27:57Speaker 2: aren't hunting days, you know what I mean. Yeah, so,
- 28:00Speaker 2: and that's just previous experience. And that's not to say
- 28:02Speaker 2: it's not going to be really good for anybody else. Obviously,
- 28:05Speaker 2: nobody hold me to that rating in Georgia when they
- 28:07Speaker 2: send me a picture of a john, because I hope
- 28:09Speaker 2: it happens for everybody. You know, after that first kind
- 28:13Speaker 2: of cold snap, it just that October lowll at least
- 28:16Speaker 2: for us.
- 28:17Speaker 4: I mean, it seems to hit.
- 28:18Speaker 8: And you know, not to say you don't get a
- 28:20Speaker 8: couple of really good days in there, of some good
- 28:22Speaker 8: weather you can take advantage of and hunt, but you know,
- 28:26Speaker 8: with the weather warming up, I'm just not overly optimistic.
- 28:31Speaker 4: But again, you never know.
- 28:33Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 28:34Speaker 2: Well, Tyler, I appreciate what what you've done, you and
- 28:37Speaker 2: your dad have done for the hunting community man, and
- 28:39Speaker 2: I appreciate you taking my call, and I hope that
- 28:42Speaker 2: that big buck you're hunting gives you a chance here
- 28:44Speaker 2: in the next couple of weeks.
- 28:45Speaker 4: I appreciate it, Tyler, to look forward to doing it again.
- 28:48Speaker 2: On the phone, I've got Graham cronin from Vortex. He's
- 28:52Speaker 2: up in Wisconsin. Graham, what's the weather like up there right.
- 28:55Speaker 9: Now, Hey, Tyler, thanks for having me. Man, sure pretty consistent.
- 29:01Speaker 9: You know, the past couple of days here just kind
- 29:02Speaker 9: of kind of lingering between that like mid fifties to
- 29:05Speaker 9: low sixties. It looks like it's going to be that
- 29:08Speaker 9: way for a couple of days here now.
- 29:11Speaker 2: So that's that's what a lot of people are seeing
- 29:14Speaker 2: right now. I think across the country we kind of
- 29:15Speaker 2: have this like it's not a terrible weather, but it's
- 29:19Speaker 2: a stagnant weather pattern, and you know, it's kind of
- 29:23Speaker 2: made for a lot of tough hunting conditions. Is are
- 29:27Speaker 2: you seeing the same thing or do you're moving pretty
- 29:29Speaker 2: good around you?
- 29:31Speaker 9: Yeah, I would say for the most part seeing the
- 29:32Speaker 9: same thing. Kind of that real stigment weather. It just
- 29:35Speaker 9: really doesn't have them doing too much where we've kind
- 29:38Speaker 9: of looked out. In the past week, we had a
- 29:40Speaker 9: couple of rain spells where it lasted for about two
- 29:42Speaker 9: to three days, and then hunting that break. I know
- 29:45Speaker 9: a lot of people that have had success and like
- 29:47Speaker 9: people seeing their cameras blow up with bucks hitting scraps.
- 29:50Speaker 9: So even though it is that stagnant, whether you know,
- 29:52Speaker 9: trying to find those different opportunities that are going to
- 29:54Speaker 9: get a move and so whether it's wind switches, you know,
- 29:57Speaker 9: looking for those rain conditions, I think you can still
- 29:59Speaker 9: beretty sucessful this time of year with.
- 30:01Speaker 2: That, even Yeah, what what would you focus on if
- 30:04Speaker 2: you had a rain shower one day? What would you
- 30:06Speaker 2: when you go out to hunt? What are you going
- 30:08Speaker 2: to look at hunting?
- 30:09Speaker 9: Oh, man, I would be this time of year. I'm
- 30:11Speaker 9: looking at oak flats and I am trying to find scrapes. Yeah,
- 30:15Speaker 9: if I can find a scrape that looks like it's
- 30:17Speaker 9: been worked, you know, in the past year or two,
- 30:19Speaker 9: you know, depending on what that rain looked like, find
- 30:22Speaker 9: one that looks like it's pretty fresh, because as soon
- 30:24Speaker 9: as that rain stops, I would expect the buck to
- 30:26Speaker 9: probably be freshen them that up.
- 30:28Speaker 3: So white oaks, red oaks, what are you looking at?
- 30:32Speaker 4: A lot of whites bund me this year. So I've
- 30:33Speaker 4: been hunting those primarily, gotcha.
- 30:35Speaker 2: So this is this is the kind of million dollar
- 30:39Speaker 2: question here for a lot of people who are talking
- 30:41Speaker 2: about white oaks. But have you found any way to
- 30:45Speaker 2: really focus in on this is why this oak tree
- 30:49Speaker 2: is the place to be as opposed to all the
- 30:50Speaker 2: other Maybe hundreds of oak trees in the woods, which
- 30:53Speaker 2: maybe it's not that way, but a lot of places
- 30:55Speaker 2: that have white oaks, you know, there's a bunch of them,
- 30:58Speaker 2: So how do you focus on one?
- 31:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean really it's for me.
- 31:03Speaker 9: I haven't found a specific reason of, you know, why
- 31:05Speaker 9: this tree is doing better.
- 31:06Speaker 4: I mean, I'm sure there's a reason out there.
- 31:08Speaker 9: I'm not a tree guy, yeah, so I don't have
- 31:10Speaker 9: that answer, but I am a deer guy. So I'm
- 31:12Speaker 9: just looking for the deer sign around those trees. So
- 31:15Speaker 9: it's just trying to figure out, you know, where those
- 31:16Speaker 9: deer are, kind of where they're coming from, where they're
- 31:19Speaker 9: going to.
- 31:19Speaker 2: And then going off of that, would you say what
- 31:22Speaker 2: percentage of the acorns have fallen off of those of
- 31:25Speaker 2: those trees generally speaking right now?
- 31:29Speaker 4: Ooh, that'd be tough. I'd say probably majority of them.
- 31:33Speaker 9: There's still a lot lingering on, but I would say
- 31:35Speaker 9: probably in that sixty to seventy percent range.
- 31:38Speaker 2: So in the next week, would you change what you're
- 31:42Speaker 2: gonna do or would you still stay with you know,
- 31:45Speaker 2: scrapes on oak flats?
- 31:48Speaker 4: I would probably stick.
- 31:49Speaker 9: You know, it's in the next seven days, it's probably
- 31:51Speaker 9: it looks pretty much the same, you know, that kind
- 31:53Speaker 9: of fifties sixties degree temps, but just outside.
- 31:57Speaker 4: Of that range.
- 31:58Speaker 9: You know, we're looking you know that eighth day, we're
- 32:00Speaker 9: going to get another ring spell for a couple of days.
- 32:02Speaker 9: So I think it'd still be hitting that in the
- 32:04Speaker 9: strategy of you know, getting in there, finding those screeps
- 32:07Speaker 9: and hunting them because you know, even on cameras, you're
- 32:09Speaker 9: starting to see bucks freshening those up more and more frequently.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Yeah, so you think that there is a definite increase
- 32:17Speaker 2: in testosterone happening right now the deer is starting to
- 32:20Speaker 2: to check and really get ready and ramp up towards
- 32:23Speaker 2: that rut. Or is it still a lot of night
- 32:26Speaker 2: movement or is that day is going to be some
- 32:28Speaker 2: day movement in there.
- 32:30Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean you're starting to just get on the
- 32:31Speaker 9: fringe of that day movement. I mean, you know, looking
- 32:34Speaker 9: at my small sample size of the cameras that I
- 32:36Speaker 9: got out, like within the past four or five days,
- 32:39Speaker 9: you're starting to see a lot of those two and a.
- 32:40Speaker 4: Half three and a half year old bucks start hitting
- 32:42Speaker 4: those screeps.
- 32:44Speaker 9: I mean I've had some that are definitely been in
- 32:46Speaker 9: legal light but still kind of like right on the fringe.
- 32:49Speaker 4: But yeah, I would.
- 32:50Speaker 9: Say it's probably not too long from now where you
- 32:52Speaker 9: see those big boys getting up and start moving a
- 32:54Speaker 9: lot more.
- 32:55Speaker 3: Too, gotcha.
- 32:56Speaker 2: So in the next week, in the next seven days
- 32:59Speaker 2: or maybe even eight, we'll cheat a little bit here,
- 33:02Speaker 2: are you I mean, are you thinking that the deer
- 33:06Speaker 2: movement or I guess let's just say, is the buck
- 33:08Speaker 2: movement going to increase or is it going to be
- 33:12Speaker 2: about the same?
- 33:15Speaker 9: I would say in the in the near future, it's
- 33:17Speaker 9: gonna be about the same, but kind of like hitting
- 33:18Speaker 9: that seven day mark, I'm going to see a big
- 33:21Speaker 9: increase just with the time of year. You know, we're
- 33:23Speaker 9: going into late October here, we're getting that ring spell
- 33:26Speaker 9: and you know they're starting to think about things.
- 33:28Speaker 4: So I would say it's definitely trending up.
- 33:30Speaker 2: So let's HiPE people up a little bit on the
- 33:31Speaker 2: seventh or eighth day. From this point on, on scale
- 33:35Speaker 2: of one to ten, what do you think the buck
- 33:37Speaker 2: movement is going to be like on that seventh or
- 33:39Speaker 2: eighth day, I'm.
- 33:41Speaker 9: Gonna put it at a strong just even from what
- 33:43Speaker 9: we saw with this last ring movement and just knowing
- 33:45Speaker 9: that you know, we're obviously getting closer to November. I'm
- 33:47Speaker 9: gonna put it like a six and a half seven.
- 33:50Speaker 9: I think you're gonna on a good movement.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Man, that's awesome.
- 33:53Speaker 2: Yeah, So that's exciting, you know, and things just get
- 33:56Speaker 2: better from this point on for a while. So, uh,
- 33:59Speaker 2: it's a good time to be in the woods. I
- 34:01Speaker 2: appreciate the information and the report, Graham from Wisconsin, and
- 34:05Speaker 2: hopefully thanks paying out for you. Like last year where
- 34:08Speaker 2: you said when you were on retfresh last year, I
- 34:11Speaker 2: think the day it dropped, you shot a buck, right.
- 34:14Speaker 4: Yeah, So I'm really hoping that this happens again for me.
- 34:18Speaker 3: All Right.
- 34:18Speaker 2: We'll try to make it work for you. So just
- 34:21Speaker 2: let me know and I'll release this thing whenever the
- 34:22Speaker 2: weather's right for you.
- 34:24Speaker 4: Perfect. Yeah, if you can just plan accordingly, that'd.
- 34:26Speaker 3: Be creating perfect all right, Graham. I appreciate it, man.
- 34:29Speaker 5: He appreciate it.
- 34:30Speaker 4: Ty to take care.
- 34:32Speaker 3: I hope that you've found all of that encouraging or
- 34:35Speaker 3: at least informative so that you can make the best
- 34:37Speaker 3: decisions this fall chasing big giant whitetail bucks and if
- 34:41Speaker 3: you want to get more detail about how to chase

- 35:25Speaker 3: I don't know. I only know up to six. I
- 35:28Speaker 3: think I think seven is like the prefix sex. Isn't
- 35:32Speaker 3: it like six six sixonomy? That might be kind of
- 35:37Speaker 3: I don't know. Don't google that, but anyways, the entire
