- 0:19Speaker 2: Trey Trendholm. Coming up on today's show. It's one of
- 0:27Speaker 2: my favorite birthdays of the year. Coming up inside Birthdays
- 0:32Speaker 2: Inside the Treehouse later today. Also, I think it's very
- 0:39Speaker 2: important that you know, we ended the week last week
- 0:43Speaker 2: with a very very big discussion about the Avengers Doomsday trailer,
- 0:48Speaker 2: and then over the weekend all the Marvel stuff happened
- 0:52Speaker 2: at Hall h and I didn't see a bunch of it,
- 0:55Speaker 2: but luckily Trey has, so he's going to enlighten me.
- 0:59Speaker 2: If you love what you hear here today, do us

- 1:04Speaker 2: share button from your favorite listening platform, send it to
- 1:06Speaker 2: a friend, post it on social media, and together let's
- 1:09Speaker 2: grow the Treehouse show. Okay, Trey, film me in what
- 1:14Speaker 2: did I miss? What did I miss at Hall h
- 1:16Speaker 2: over the weekend from the Marvel extravaganza?
- 1:20Speaker 1: Oh what did you miss?
- 1:24Speaker 3: So?
- 1:25Speaker 1: The funniest part probably is uh, Deadpool made an appearance
- 1:37Speaker 1: at the I'm guessing it was a comic con thing,
- 1:41Speaker 1: but it was at the The Avengers Doomsday. They had
- 1:45Speaker 1: all the stars out there, I think except for uh Hensworth,
- 1:53Speaker 1: and you know, they call on the guy with the swords,
- 1:58Speaker 1: you know, to ask a question, of course, and it's
- 2:00Speaker 1: Ryan Reynolds dressed it's Deadpool, but not in the actual
- 2:04Speaker 1: Deadpool costume. He is in a denim Deadpool costume.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Ah, okay, hang on, I believe I've got this for
- 2:14Speaker 2: us here, Yeah, here we go. So yeah, Robert Downey
- 2:21Speaker 2: Junior's got the microphone on the stage, He's got Chris
- 2:24Speaker 2: Evans behind him, ruffle all the people behind him from
- 2:26Speaker 2: the cast, and then he points out to the crowd where.
- 2:31Speaker 3: A denim Deadpool is awaiting.
- 2:38Speaker 4: Who's this guy with the swords and stuff.
- 2:54Speaker 2: It's pretty cool moment because if I'm surprised at that
- 2:57Speaker 2: moment when they show Deadpool in the crowd and everyone
- 3:02Speaker 2: might be thinking because it's not the first time that
- 3:04Speaker 2: they've had something like this happen where the actual actor
- 3:07Speaker 2: who plays the character is in the crowd, but there's
- 3:11Speaker 2: still some question about it, like, oh, is it him?
- 3:13Speaker 3: Is it not so?
- 3:14Speaker 2: And then when he pulls the microphone out and you
- 3:16Speaker 2: hear his voice. I'm surprised he didn't get swarmed right
- 3:20Speaker 2: then and there.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Here's the amazing thing is and he posted this to
- 3:23Speaker 1: his run Reynolds his own social media. He was out
- 3:26Speaker 1: on the floor of Comic Con in this outfit for
- 3:29Speaker 1: about an hour. No one he wasn't really talking, so
- 3:33Speaker 1: no one knew it was him. But he's taking pictures
- 3:35Speaker 1: with everyone and all this stuff, and of course now
- 3:40Speaker 1: everyone's going to go back and go, holy shit, I
- 3:42Speaker 1: got a picture with Ryan Reynolds. But the nerds lost
- 3:48Speaker 1: their mind on this because what does that mean? Great Deadpool?
- 3:52Speaker 1: What does that mean? Oh my god? And then they
- 3:54Speaker 1: start going off all these series. He's Canadian there there,
- 4:01Speaker 1: and maybe maybe that is something that's been lost that
- 4:03Speaker 1: there was a joke with us and years ago something
- 4:07Speaker 1: called the Canadian tuxedo, which is all denim.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Head to toe, mm hmm.
- 4:13Speaker 1: On his social media he says, oh, you know, yeah,
- 4:16Speaker 1: it's Canadian tuxedo Deadpool out. So there's no hidden meaning,
- 4:21Speaker 1: there's no this isn't this isn't an easter egg for doomsday.
- 4:26Speaker 1: It's a joke. Yeah.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Do you think that the downfall of Victor von Doom
- 4:33Speaker 2: is Denim.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Yeah, he's gonna be so so aghast at what Deadpool
- 4:41Speaker 1: is wearing. That he's just gonna forget everything and they're
- 4:43Speaker 1: gonna beat him.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Yeah, and he actually mentions it here in the hall.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Ah huge fan, look at that cast.
- 4:53Speaker 3: I thank you.
- 4:55Speaker 1: I'm not wearing the Doom mask over this mask because
- 4:58Speaker 1: I didn't want to ruin the lines of my Canadian time.
- 5:01Speaker 1: My name is Ricky.
- 5:03Speaker 2: That's a mononym like cher or Madonna, and I'm just
- 5:07Speaker 2: hostplaying hard.
- 5:16Speaker 3: It's great dead Bull. No it's not. It's Canadian tuxedo
- 5:20Speaker 3: dead Bull.
- 5:21Speaker 1: It's Ryan Reynolds, you know, being actually pretty funny.
- 5:26Speaker 2: So and that's and it's interesting because in watching the
- 5:29Speaker 2: trailer last week, Deadpool was not in it, and so
- 5:35Speaker 2: this was a nice reminder that he is in the
- 5:38Speaker 2: movie in some way, and I can't wait for that.
- 5:42Speaker 3: That's that's another angle on the.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Whole movie that I can't wait for, which is to
- 5:47Speaker 2: see Ryan Reynolds Deadpool in the middle of all these
- 5:51Speaker 2: heroes and just to see basically the Shenanigans.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Well, and from everything I've seen, because so they announce
- 6:00Speaker 1: like phase seven and eight and everything coming up obviously
- 6:04Speaker 1: because he said after Deadpool and Wolverine he would not
- 6:06Speaker 1: do another Deadpool, and we all joked that they will
- 6:09Speaker 1: back up the cash truck col enough, and especially after
- 6:12Speaker 1: you know, the whole thing with he and his wife
- 6:14Speaker 1: and the lawsuit with the movie and ever, they kind
- 6:18Speaker 1: of got their image tarnished a little bit. So, uh,
- 6:22Speaker 1: I'm sure the stupid amount of money that they backed
- 6:27Speaker 1: up to pay him for doing another Deadpool. But I've
- 6:29Speaker 1: seen it's Deadpool and Spider Man, and I've seen it's
- 6:32Speaker 1: just Deadpool. I don't know, but.
- 6:34Speaker 2: So what did so what did Marvel and Veila in
- 6:36Speaker 2: the phases seven and eight? Did it include? Because I
- 6:38Speaker 2: haven't seen this, did it include Deadpool?
- 6:41Speaker 3: The three? Four? I guess it'd be I guess four.
- 6:45Speaker 1: There's a Deadpool an X men, Ryan Gosling ghost Rider.
- 6:52Speaker 2: I did see that yesterday as I was going to
- 6:54Speaker 2: bed doing my doom scrolling that it was made official
- 6:58Speaker 2: that Ryan Gosling is the new ghost writer.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Black Panther three, with Talla's son a guy taking over,
- 7:15Speaker 1: So they're not gonna do the chick Black Panther. It's
- 7:17Speaker 1: gonna be another another guy. And then then you get
- 7:22Speaker 1: lost what are the so said another Wolverine movie. And
- 7:27Speaker 1: so now I'm curious, is it, Hugh Jackman, Are they
- 7:29Speaker 1: gonna because there's an X Men movie, Are we gonna
- 7:32Speaker 1: do a whole new cast? Are we gonna try to,
- 7:34Speaker 1: you know, do the Cherry patric X Men?
- 7:40Speaker 2: You know what, you better start getting uh Professor X's
- 7:44Speaker 2: stuff done in batches, like you had to do with
- 7:46Speaker 2: stan Lee's cameos, because man, Patrick Stewart, I mean, he's old,
- 7:51Speaker 2: and like, if you want these guys to keep doing stuff,
- 7:56Speaker 2: I mean, either you're gonna have to like AI version them.
- 8:00Speaker 1: They've also they've killed Xavier. They've killed Patrick stews Xavier twice.
- 8:08Speaker 1: I mean, how many more times they think? I forgot?
- 8:13Speaker 1: I saw someone do a little of all the characters
- 8:16Speaker 1: that they've somehow killed and have come back. But it's
- 8:19Speaker 1: an impressive, impressive thing. I saw what thing where there's
- 8:24Speaker 1: gonna And one of the things I was told after
- 8:29Speaker 1: the Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness, whatever the hell it was,
- 8:35Speaker 1: was that the Scarlet Witch was dead.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 8:38Speaker 1: But now they said there's a Scarlet Witch, and now
- 8:41Speaker 1: I've seen that it's a Scarlet Witch movie or it's
- 8:46Speaker 1: going back to WandaVision and the WandaVision type show that
- 8:56Speaker 1: or whatever. I've seen two reports. I don't know which one,
- 9:01Speaker 1: but yeah, I'm I'm very confused as to that. And
- 9:07Speaker 1: because there's gonna from what I saw, there's gonna be
- 9:09Speaker 1: another Wolverine movie, and there's an X Men movie. What
- 9:15Speaker 1: do we get? What are we getting here?
- 9:17Speaker 3: Yeah? Are we gonna have.
- 9:18Speaker 1: A new X Men, new x Men, new Wolverine or
- 9:22Speaker 1: I mean Jackmans can still pull it off, but the
- 9:25Speaker 1: rest of them, because especially fom Knjensen can't do Jean
- 9:30Speaker 1: Gray anymore and that's actually one of the kind of
- 9:33Speaker 1: essential characters in X Men, so they need and I
- 9:37Speaker 1: from what I understand, she's gonna be in and there's
- 9:39Speaker 1: gonna be a new uh Jean Gray Phoenix in Doomsday.
- 9:43Speaker 1: But there's so much speculation, you.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Don't know, right, And there's also a speculation that the
- 9:51Speaker 2: actress Sadie Sink from Stranger Things, Yes, it's gonna be
- 9:55Speaker 2: in the New Spider Man movie, is gonna be the
- 9:58Speaker 2: Gene Gray and that it ca is getting introduced in
- 10:01Speaker 2: the New Spider Man movie. You know, this week basically
- 10:04Speaker 2: or next week whatever it.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Is, which if you're if you're if you're a comic
- 10:07Speaker 1: book nerd, And like I said, X Men was as
- 10:10Speaker 1: close as I ever came to be a comic book nerd.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Jean Gray was one of those you know, they didn't
- 10:15Speaker 1: do her do a lot with her in the X
- 10:17Speaker 1: Men movies because she was actually one of the more
- 10:19Speaker 1: most powerful of the mutants. So it's yeah, it all
- 10:27Speaker 1: looks good. It looks like they've got some really good
- 10:30Speaker 1: good stuff coming up.
- 10:33Speaker 2: But you ask a great question, which is what version
- 10:36Speaker 2: of X Men are we going to get? Because we
- 10:38Speaker 2: had the first batch, you know, with Patrick Stewart and
- 10:42Speaker 2: a younger Hugh Jackman and you know, Halle Berry, and
- 10:46Speaker 2: then you got the Days of Future Past cast, which
- 10:50Speaker 2: was the younger version on a different timeline. So now
- 10:54Speaker 2: are they crossing them over some or are we going
- 10:57Speaker 2: to get a brand new X Men? Because I do
- 11:00Speaker 2: know at the end of the Marvel's movie you had
- 11:05Speaker 2: Kelsey Grammer back as Beast in one of the cut scenes.
- 11:09Speaker 1: Right, and he's he is definitely in doomsday.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Yeah, So I just I'm with you, man, I don't know,
- 11:16Speaker 2: and I do, but one thing I do know is
- 11:18Speaker 2: if they do recast everything, then we're gonna have all
- 11:21Speaker 2: the hoopla again over who who who do we think
- 11:24Speaker 2: is right to play Wolverine? And keep in mind, a
- 11:27Speaker 2: bunch of people didn't think Hugh Jackman was a good choice.
- 11:30Speaker 3: They're like, he's too tall and he's too thin and
- 11:32Speaker 3: blah blah blah.
- 11:33Speaker 2: And then you saw him do it and you're like,
- 11:34Speaker 2: holy shit, this guy's good and now you're thinking, well,
- 11:37Speaker 2: who can replace him as wolf Man?
- 11:39Speaker 1: I have no idea. Uh, well, they've killed Wolverine twice,
- 11:47Speaker 1: I think, mm hmmm. I mean, I guess you you
- 11:52Speaker 1: have a lot of leeway with with timelines, but damn
- 11:56Speaker 1: uh because I think actually they killed Patrick Stewart three times,
- 12:00Speaker 1: because they killed him in one of the X Men
- 12:03Speaker 1: movie and then in Logan and in Doctor Strange.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Yeah, that's right. So it's amazing.
- 12:15Speaker 2: I'm curious about it, that's for sure. I'm excited for
- 12:18Speaker 2: the new movie to come out. I'm excited to see
- 12:22Speaker 2: all these things come together and if they actually pull
- 12:24Speaker 2: it off. But the other thing I'm excited about, And
- 12:28Speaker 2: while I didn't see a ton of the Marvel stuff
- 12:30Speaker 2: over the weekend, I did see something else that also
- 12:36Speaker 2: happened around Hall h I believe, and that was the
- 12:41Speaker 2: unveiling of the Spaceball's phases. Look, I've already had high
- 12:51Speaker 2: hopes for the new Spaceball's movie, right, I am hoping
- 12:56Speaker 2: beyond hope that it is good, and we just we
- 13:01Speaker 2: won't know until it comes out, right, but based on
- 13:05Speaker 2: at least a little bit of the promotion that they've
- 13:07Speaker 2: done so far, my hopes are still pretty high. So
- 13:13Speaker 2: Spaceballs managed to spoof the entire Marvel DC phase stuff
- 13:18Speaker 2: in their own way, and it was really really, it's
- 13:22Speaker 2: really funny. So you start with Spaceball's the New One,
- 13:25Speaker 2: and then you slide over into Spaceball's The Schwartz Awakens,
- 13:31Speaker 2: and then that'll lead into Spaceball's The Franchise Menace, and
- 13:35Speaker 2: then there's also around twenty thirty two ish you'll get
- 13:39Speaker 2: Dark Helmet Origins a Spaceball story, and then after that,
- 13:44Speaker 2: at some point they don't know when you'll get Dark
- 13:47Speaker 2: Helmet Origins too, even younger, and then in twenty thirty
- 13:54Speaker 2: you get Spaceballs whin a Bago Knights, along with in
- 13:58Speaker 2: twenty thirty one Baseball Super Duper Secret Wars, and then
- 14:04Speaker 2: in Phase two you get Dark Helmet Origins three the Youngest,
- 14:10Speaker 2: and then sometime after that Dark Helmet Origins Origins where
- 14:15Speaker 2: it all began.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Oh my god, it's so brilliant.
- 14:25Speaker 1: I love it. There was more than that.
- 14:26Speaker 2: There there was yeah, and then a yogurt won and yeah,
- 14:31Speaker 2: you get yogurt so coming out in twenty thirty three,
- 14:35Speaker 2: Yogurt Schwartz and all and then and then I think
- 14:40Speaker 2: this may be my favorite part. For the Spaceball saga.
- 14:44Speaker 2: In two thousand and eight, you'll get Spaceballs the animated series,
- 14:48Speaker 2: and then now you'll get Spaceballs the Animated series, reboot
- 14:53Speaker 2: someday Spaceballs the Animated Series live action, and then after
- 14:58Speaker 2: that where it says, please stopped, Spaceballs the Animated series, the.
- 15:03Speaker 3: Musical All next to time is a flat circle.
- 15:12Speaker 5: And then you're gonna get in twenty thirty five Heroes
- 15:16Speaker 5: of Druidia, Rogue Dumb, Oh, Spaceballs for Kids.
- 15:25Speaker 3: I just, oh god, it's so good.
- 15:29Speaker 1: I I have to think, because mel Brooks hadn't made
- 15:35Speaker 1: a movie in years, and chances are this is his
- 15:41Speaker 1: last one, so I have to assume he really liked
- 15:45Speaker 1: the script in order to do this. Yeah, so I
- 15:50Speaker 1: have very high hopes for it. I mean that he
- 15:55Speaker 1: seems to still be have all his faculties. Yeah, let's hope. Yeah.
- 16:09Speaker 1: And the fact and hell, the fact that Rick moranis
- 16:11Speaker 1: came out of retirement. I have to have a feeling
- 16:16Speaker 1: that getting all those people together, the script had to
- 16:19Speaker 1: be good.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:21Speaker 2: And you also get uh, you know Bill Pullman, who
- 16:24Speaker 2: of course plays Lone Star his kid is now a
- 16:27Speaker 2: bona fide actor, and he's also in the Marvel Cinematic
- 16:33Speaker 2: Universe because he's the Sentinel guy from Thunderbolts. And he's
- 16:39Speaker 2: also i'm assuming playing Lone Star Junior in Spaceball. So
- 16:44Speaker 2: he gets the fun, he gets the fun trip of
- 16:47Speaker 2: a career to be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and
- 16:51Speaker 2: then also in a film that's going to rip it
- 16:54Speaker 2: to shreds.
- 16:59Speaker 3: I can't wait for it. I'm so excited.
- 17:07Speaker 1: In the meantime, let's just hope the new Spider Man's.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Good fingers cross baby fingers all the way crossed. Let's
- 17:15Speaker 2: get Daniel Cook from COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration in the
- 17:18Speaker 2: Treehouse for your free roof inspection and property review called
- 17:22Speaker 2: eight three three cook DFW today to get that scheduled
- 17:26Speaker 2: eight three three COOKDFW. The website is cookdfw dot com Daniel.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Part of the roofing process is knowing about ventilation and
- 17:35Speaker 2: how important that can be to the life of the roof.
- 17:38Speaker 2: That's something you guys look at. It's not just about shingles.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Absolutely, Dan.
- 17:42Speaker 6: A lot of homeowners underestimate the amount of attic heat
- 17:47Speaker 6: build up that their home has, affects their AC system,
- 17:50Speaker 6: affects their roof condition long term, affects just overall their home.
- 17:55Speaker 6: And so when we come out we make that assessment
- 17:58Speaker 6: with the homeowner, we try to educate them, make sure
- 18:00Speaker 6: they have the proper ventilation. There is a calculation of this.
- 18:04Speaker 6: We walk them around if they're interested in going around,
- 18:06Speaker 6: we show them what their intakes look like, what their
- 18:08Speaker 6: exhaust system looks like, and try to make the best
- 18:10Speaker 6: fit for their home. So that's a very common thing
- 18:13Speaker 6: that we do, and it should be done every time
- 18:14Speaker 6: you have construction done at your property. You need to
- 18:16Speaker 6: be educated on what's happening and why.
- 18:20Speaker 2: And if you've ever dealt with a roofing contractor that
- 18:23Speaker 2: didn't have a conversation with you about ventilation underneath that roof,
- 18:30Speaker 2: then you need to call Daniel Cook at eight three

- 19:25Speaker 2: Back inside the Treehouse, I'm Dan along with Trey. Before
- 19:30Speaker 2: we jump into birthdays, I wanted to mention one other
- 19:32Speaker 2: thing about Spaceball's The New One. One of the last
- 19:36Speaker 2: slides that they had posted over the weekend was Baseball's
- 19:41Speaker 2: the New One. The almighty Schwartz saga ass that don't
- 19:47Speaker 2: underneath it. They have an important note that says nothing
- 19:51Speaker 2: is canon. Everything is canon, and that's canon.
- 19:59Speaker 3: I cannot wait for that movie. Yeah. Twenty twenty seven. Man,
- 20:03Speaker 3: it's going to be a fun year, all right.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Today is Tuesday, July twenty eighth, twenty twenty six.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Let's celebrate today. What's some birthdays?
- 20:18Speaker 2: Celebrating a belated birthday, our very own Trey Trendhole, just
- 20:22Speaker 2: a couple of days ago turned is it fifty two?
- 20:27Speaker 3: Yep, you don't look.
- 20:30Speaker 2: At you look great, buddy years fifty two years young?
- 20:36Speaker 1: Yeah, something like.
- 20:41Speaker 3: That, isn't it?
- 20:42Speaker 2: Isn't it a kick in the balls to think back
- 20:44Speaker 2: to when you were in your twenties?
- 20:47Speaker 3: And or maybe this was just me.
- 20:49Speaker 2: I don't know if you did this, but when I
- 20:50Speaker 2: was in my twenties, I would occasionally think ahead to
- 20:52Speaker 2: be like, I wonder what it's going to be like
- 20:54Speaker 2: when i'm such and such age. It's hard to wrap
- 20:57Speaker 2: my brain around the age of fiftyfty two when I'm
- 21:01Speaker 2: twenty two. But now that you're fifty two, I'm like,
- 21:05Speaker 2: you know, I'm not because you're a little bit older
- 21:07Speaker 2: than me. I'm not, you know, dreading it the way
- 21:09Speaker 2: that I probably would have when I was younger, probably
- 21:11Speaker 2: partly because I'm not that far behind you, and it's like, hey,
- 21:15Speaker 2: if I make it to fifty two, that's that's doing good.
- 21:17Speaker 3: It's a privilege to age.
- 21:21Speaker 1: This is nothing like Hio I imagined it would be.
- 21:24Speaker 1: But I have no one to blame but myself for that, So.
- 21:31Speaker 2: I will say that. And then part of this is
- 21:33Speaker 2: Hollywood's fault, you know. Being quote unquote middle aged, I
- 21:39Speaker 2: was really expecting flying cars and things.
- 21:43Speaker 1: I would say flying cars are one of the few
- 21:45Speaker 1: things that we really have thought we would get by now,
- 21:48Speaker 1: and they're slowly coming along. But yeah, I would say that.
- 21:52Speaker 1: It's I think probably the most fascinating thing, if we
- 21:55Speaker 1: really look back on it, is our concept of aging
- 22:01Speaker 1: has changed so dramatically because our parents, and especially our grandparents,
- 22:08Speaker 1: you were tired at fifty five and you basically did nothing. No,
- 22:13Speaker 1: some people, a few people traveled. But you can go
- 22:17Speaker 1: back and look at cook Like I said, the cast
- 22:20Speaker 1: of Cookoo Wilford Brimley, I think was forty nine or
- 22:22Speaker 1: fifty when they filmed Cocoon. They all looked old. You
- 22:26Speaker 1: look at some of the Golden girls, they were all
- 22:31Speaker 1: in their late forties early fifties. It just none of
- 22:36Speaker 1: us look like that, which thank god. Yeah, and I
- 22:42Speaker 1: think we, you know, at some point figured out that,
- 22:46Speaker 1: you know, maybe you officially retire, but like if you
- 22:50Speaker 1: just quit doing stuff, you're just you're gonna die.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I mean part of it is a sad
- 22:58Speaker 2: realization that when you reach fifty five, when I reach
- 23:04Speaker 2: fifty five, retirement is not going to be an option
- 23:06Speaker 2: that is not on the table. Whereas, like you said,
- 23:13Speaker 2: for our grandparents and for our grandparents, yeah, that was
- 23:18Speaker 2: kind of like the age, like you hit fifty five,
- 23:20Speaker 2: it's like, boy, it's time to hang them up. We're
- 23:22Speaker 2: in retirement stage now. But even like even our parents,
- 23:27Speaker 2: you know, my dad wanted to retire at a certain point.
- 23:30Speaker 2: I think, I think in his fifties is when he
- 23:33Speaker 2: wanted to. But like in two thousand and eight, when
- 23:36Speaker 2: the like market, like the bubble burst market crash a
- 23:39Speaker 2: little bit whatever, and it set his retirement date back
- 23:41Speaker 2: a few years, but he was still able to retire
- 23:44Speaker 2: in his early sixties. That's not on the table for
- 23:49Speaker 2: most of us. It's like we didn't, you know, make
- 23:55Speaker 2: that same amount of money and things. Money doesn't go
- 23:57Speaker 2: as far as he used to. But you're right, at
- 24:00Speaker 2: least physically, we look a hell of a lot better.
- 24:02Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I mean I I made such poor
- 24:06Speaker 1: decisions being an alcoholic that I, like I said, I
- 24:09Speaker 1: to blame myself, and I certainly could have made choices
- 24:17Speaker 1: where I don't. I can't even fathom retiring even if
- 24:21Speaker 1: I could. I could certainly be doing a lot more
- 24:25Speaker 1: fun things right now than what I'm doing. But it
- 24:29Speaker 1: is what it is. But it's like I was talking
- 24:33Speaker 1: with my stepmom yesterday, and the sad thing is, in
- 24:40Speaker 1: my two years of my fifties, I have exercised more
- 24:43Speaker 1: than my dad did from fifty to seventy nine when
- 24:46Speaker 1: he died. And that's the other thing. And I watched
- 24:52Speaker 1: it with my dad, I watched it with my mom.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Of being sedentary is just a you were writing your
- 25:00Speaker 1: your own death certificate. Yeah, And that's we know so
- 25:04Speaker 1: much more now about the body and aging and exercise
- 25:08Speaker 1: and everything else that makes a huge difference.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very much a use it or lose it situation.
- 25:16Speaker 2: That's true for your brain and it's true for your body.
- 25:19Speaker 2: And having watched some of our previous generations decline in
- 25:25Speaker 2: that way has been a good lesson for us to learn,
- 25:29Speaker 2: those of us that were paying attention, Like you mentioned
- 25:31Speaker 2: your mom and your dad, My grandmother like once once
- 25:36Speaker 2: she like true, like full on retired.
- 25:39Speaker 3: She didn't do much.
- 25:41Speaker 2: I mean, she just kind of hung out in her
- 25:42Speaker 2: bedroom like she you know, a big day for her
- 25:45Speaker 2: was maybe going to the grocery store. And you know,
- 25:48Speaker 2: she just didn't do much. And I just it just
- 25:51Speaker 2: and then at a certain point, you can't get around,
- 25:54Speaker 2: you physically, can't lift yourself out of a bathtub or something.
- 25:57Speaker 2: It's like man, for most of us, especially you and me,
- 26:01Speaker 2: we don't want to be like that. No, you know,
- 26:04Speaker 2: it's like I don't need to be you know, buff
- 26:06Speaker 2: grandpa or anything like that. But my god, I I
- 26:11Speaker 2: want to I don't want to be the guy in
- 26:13Speaker 2: the life Alert commercial who can't get up.
- 26:18Speaker 1: Yeah. That's uh. That That is the whole key of
- 26:24Speaker 1: it is is keep moving. Keep like you said, keep
- 26:28Speaker 1: using your brain, keep using your body, because the minute
- 26:30Speaker 1: you stop, it goes it. It goes so fast it's
- 26:34Speaker 1: just unbelievable. And I mean and it goes in ways.
- 26:40Speaker 1: My mom just I mean her mental and physical decline.
- 26:44Speaker 1: You know, she said on her ass and watched TV. Yeah,
- 26:48Speaker 1: and to the point where even as of like two
- 26:52Speaker 1: three years ago, she could hardly read. She she could,
- 26:58Speaker 1: she could type and you know, like and sort of.
- 27:02Speaker 1: But I asked her one time to like read something
- 27:04Speaker 1: and read it out loud. I couldn't do it, Jesus.
- 27:08Speaker 1: And it wasn't anything. It wasn't like, you know, an
- 27:13Speaker 1: article on quantum physics. It was something very simple, but
- 27:18Speaker 1: that her brain had just turned to mush.
- 27:22Speaker 2: All right, well, let's celebrate some other people's birthdays. I
- 27:24Speaker 2: mentioned earlier that today is uh uh. Today has a
- 27:29Speaker 2: birthday that is one of my favorites each and every year.
- 27:32Speaker 2: We'll get to that one shortly. The first birthdays I
- 27:34Speaker 2: will mention. Afroman is fifty two, best known for his
- 27:38Speaker 2: hit because I Got High. You know what, if you're
- 27:42Speaker 2: going to be a one hit wonder, that's a hell
- 27:44Speaker 2: of that's a hell of a one to have.
- 27:48Speaker 1: And that was probably still back in the day where
- 27:51Speaker 1: he's living living all right, just off one hit.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Mm hmm, Like he may not necessarily like that song
- 27:57Speaker 2: is not to the level of you know, Mariah Carey's
- 27:59Speaker 2: All I Want.
- 28:00Speaker 3: For Christmas type of situation.
- 28:01Speaker 2: But I'm sure the residuals on because I got high
- 28:04Speaker 2: aren't bad.
- 28:05Speaker 1: I think it's been sampled enough though that I I
- 28:10Speaker 1: bet he's doing all right.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Yeah. Another singer, I use that loosely. Another artist, Soldier
- 28:18Speaker 2: Boys thirty six. Okay, Soldier Boy thirty six. According to
- 28:26Speaker 2: the according to the description I have here from the
- 28:29Speaker 2: prep service, viral music pioneer who's crank that dance became
- 28:34Speaker 2: one of YouTube's earliest Internet crazes.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Oh, it's the only thing I know him from. Yeah.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Lori Laughlin is sixty two. This is one of my
- 28:45Speaker 2: favorite birthdays. This is one of my favorite birthdays. But
- 28:48Speaker 2: it's not the ultimate birthday that I've been teasing today.
- 28:51Speaker 2: But I love Lori Laughlin. I think she's phenomenal. She
- 28:54Speaker 2: has been kind of ageless as well. He's best known
- 29:00Speaker 2: for Full House. But then she was also caught up,
- 29:05Speaker 2: if I remember right in the scandal where they were
- 29:09Speaker 2: basically like powers players of Yeah, the big tuition scandal,
- 29:15Speaker 2: paying to get her and her husband's kid into Ivy
- 29:18Speaker 2: League schools and stuff.
- 29:19Speaker 3: That's the last thing I've heard out of her.
- 29:23Speaker 1: I know one of them went to jail, and I
- 29:25Speaker 1: can't remember, I don't think it was her. It was Damn,
- 29:33Speaker 1: I have to look it up, but yeah, I yes.
- 29:35Speaker 1: That's my last recollection of her too, is that she
- 29:38Speaker 1: got caught up in that, and at the very least
- 29:40Speaker 1: I want to say she got some probation. She maybe
- 29:42Speaker 1: even had to do a little bit of jail time.
- 29:45Speaker 3: I think it may be right.
- 29:46Speaker 2: It's been a minute since I've thought about that, but yeah,
- 29:52Speaker 2: she's also if I remember this correctly, I believe her
- 29:56Speaker 2: first feature film is one of my guilty pleasures from
- 29:59Speaker 2: all the way back in the day in the eighties.
- 30:03Speaker 2: She was in a little movie called Rad. And when
- 30:10Speaker 2: I say it's a guilty pleasure movie, of mind and
- 30:13Speaker 2: you know.
- 30:14Speaker 3: Is a bad movie.
- 30:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:17Speaker 2: So in this film called Rad, it's a kid whose dream,
- 30:22Speaker 2: I guess is to be a competitive BMX racer and
- 30:30Speaker 2: he starts his own company like Rad Racing, and he's
- 30:36Speaker 2: got to take on the Ultimate guy from Team Mongoose
- 30:41Speaker 2: played by Olympic gold medalist Bart Connerson, and the girl,
- 30:48Speaker 2: the love interest in this movie, was played by Lori
- 30:51Speaker 2: Laughlin and instead of a traditional love scene in the film,
- 30:56Speaker 2: instead the guy and Lori Laughlin's characters go would dance,
- 31:02Speaker 2: and they dance on their bicycles.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Was this film in Portland?
- 31:09Speaker 2: It wouldn't surprise me they were not naked for this
- 31:12Speaker 2: bike ride though.
- 31:15Speaker 3: Let's go ahead.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Well, now here's this. I saw this the other day
- 31:21Speaker 1: and I meant to ask you about this as I
- 31:22Speaker 1: was flipping through the channels. There is one channel on
- 31:25Speaker 1: direct TV which a Jillian nine year like, how is
- 31:29Speaker 1: that a channel? But clearly its whole purpose is just
- 31:32Speaker 1: showing bad movies. How many American Ninja movies did they make?
- 31:40Speaker 1: Because I'm pretty sure I saw American Ninja five in
- 31:43Speaker 1: the guide.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Oh wow.
- 31:46Speaker 2: So I don't know if they made a fifth one.
- 31:50Speaker 2: I know they had four because the fourth one was
- 31:54Speaker 2: called American Ninja four The Annihilation, and and Michael they did?
- 32:06Speaker 3: Who's in it?
- 32:07Speaker 2: Because there's really technically only two American Ninjas that I
- 32:11Speaker 2: that I grew up with you at the original, which
- 32:13Speaker 2: was Michael Dudakov, And then the next guy that I
- 32:16Speaker 2: think did it in American Ninja three I believe was
- 32:22Speaker 2: a new guy. So and then they were both in four.
- 32:27Speaker 1: The the truly the only name you are gonna know
- 32:33Speaker 1: unless you David Bradley looks like he is he's the star.
- 32:38Speaker 3: Uh.
- 32:39Speaker 1: And then the only other name you're gonna know is
- 32:41Speaker 1: Pat Marita.
- 32:43Speaker 3: Oh yeah, mister Migi.
- 32:49Speaker 1: I think at that point he had been typecast.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Yeah, man, I I kind of feel bad for mister
- 32:56Speaker 2: Miyagi based on the fact that he basically ceased to
- 33:01Speaker 2: be Pat Marita and became mister Miyagi. This is a
- 33:06Speaker 2: guy that does not sound at all like like mister Migi.
- 33:10Speaker 2: He doesn't sound like the character at all. If you
- 33:13Speaker 2: didn't see his face, you would think he looked like
- 33:15Speaker 2: one of us just hearing his voice. But then he
- 33:19Speaker 2: did such a good, you know, stereotypical Asian Japanese man
- 33:23Speaker 2: accent that that just kind of basically became what he
- 33:26Speaker 2: was known for. And so when people heard him talk
- 33:31Speaker 2: in his voice, they were like, how do you sound
- 33:36Speaker 2: like that? He's like, I've always sounded like this.
- 33:38Speaker 1: I mean, I don't feel too bad for him, because
- 33:43Speaker 1: I'm sure, especially for Karate Kid two, he got a
- 33:47Speaker 1: healthy check. But no, if you go back, and I mean,
- 33:50Speaker 1: the only other thing I really remember Pat Marina in
- 33:52Speaker 1: his happy days m h and yeah, he sounds nothing
- 33:57Speaker 1: like mister Miyagi.
- 33:58Speaker 2: No, I really hope he got paid really really paid
- 34:04Speaker 2: for karate Kid four because three was the one that
- 34:11Speaker 2: was the girl. I believe that was Hillary Swank. And
- 34:14Speaker 2: then I think they made a fourth one, but they
- 34:17Speaker 2: bring back Daniel LaRusso for that one. See, now we've
- 34:20Speaker 2: gone from American inn Ja five to trying to see
- 34:22Speaker 2: how many American are trying to see how many karate
- 34:25Speaker 2: kids they made.
- 34:26Speaker 3: I know it was three. I think maybe a fourth.
- 34:28Speaker 1: I'm sure he got paid for two and three pretty well,
- 34:34Speaker 1: let's hope.
- 34:35Speaker 2: So yeah, wait, hang on, so you had one, two, three,
- 34:43Speaker 2: maybe it was okay, four was Hillary Swank. Three was
- 34:48Speaker 2: Daniel LaRusso, because that's when you got the ponytail bad guy.
- 34:57Speaker 1: I remember one and two. I think I saw three
- 34:59Speaker 1: of it.
- 35:00Speaker 2: It does not does not state number one. Number one
- 35:04Speaker 2: was the All Valley Tournament. Number two is Karate Hand.
- 35:07Speaker 2: Two Daniel goes to Japan.
- 35:10Speaker 3: And then three was new bad guy Terry Crane or whatever.
- 35:16Speaker 2: It was, the long ponytailed guy who is Cleases like
- 35:21Speaker 2: war Buddy from Nam and he was bringing back Cobra
- 35:25Speaker 2: Kai and he basically beat the crap out of Daniel
- 35:27Speaker 2: Russo through that one, and then you got the fourth one,
- 35:31Speaker 2: which was karate Kid for the Hillary Swank version.
- 35:40Speaker 3: I have too much useless information rattling around in my brain.
- 35:44Speaker 1: Oh we all do. Your ears just happens to center
- 35:46Speaker 1: around really bad eighties and nineties movies.
- 35:48Speaker 2: Yeah, speaking of which, let me go and throw this out.
- 35:52Speaker 2: This is my favorite, one of my favorite birthdays to
- 35:54Speaker 2: read every single year. Forever enshrined and remembered as Jesse
- 36:01Speaker 2: Spano from Saved by the Bell. Elizabeth Berkeley is fifty
- 36:05Speaker 2: four in her career, Elizabeth Berkeley has overcome caffeine addiction
- 36:18Speaker 2: and getting a really good effing in a pool in Showgirls.
- 36:26Speaker 2: One of the most fascinating Hollywood careers I can think
- 36:29Speaker 2: is Elizabeth Berkeley from Saved by the Bell to Showgirls.
- 36:34Speaker 1: And then, well, I mean you talk about where choices?
- 36:44Speaker 1: That just because she wanted to get out of the
- 36:46Speaker 1: image of Jesse from Saved by the Bell. So and
- 36:50Speaker 1: at the time she was a hot star, and man,
- 36:57Speaker 1: she chose poorly, like if she if she if she's
- 37:02Speaker 1: offered something like basic instinct. Her career trajectory trajectory totally different.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Probably, but absolutely that one. Uh, life is all of
- 37:13Speaker 2: life is all about choices.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Yeah, and clearly she didn't read the script to show
- 37:20Speaker 1: Girls or was so used to can't be saved by
- 37:25Speaker 1: the bell scripts. Thought it was good.
- 37:27Speaker 3: Yeah, she may have.
- 37:30Speaker 2: It is weird though, when you think about it, because
- 37:32Speaker 2: when you think about the other people that were in
- 37:34Speaker 2: Showgirls that I that I recall, right, the main three
- 37:38Speaker 2: people that I remember from the movie, You've got Elizabeth Berkley,
- 37:43Speaker 2: I think, Gina gershon and the guy was Kyle McLoughlin.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Didn't hurt Kyle McLoughlin's career at all. That dude has
- 37:54Speaker 2: been a Hollywood mainstay. Gina Gershaan, she's I don't think
- 38:00Speaker 2: that movie hurt her career at all, but it absolutely
- 38:03Speaker 2: sunk Elizabeth Berkeley's well.
- 38:06Speaker 1: Gina Gershaan already kind of she was the I would
- 38:12Speaker 1: say borderline b list. I always liked her, but she
- 38:15Speaker 1: was in some iffy movies, Comicgloughlin had enough of career
- 38:19Speaker 1: that he could. But the thing about it is that
- 38:24Speaker 1: that whole movie, it was it was all pinned on
- 38:28Speaker 1: Elizabeth Berkeley. That was gonna be that was her at
- 38:31Speaker 1: the time. They would call it her coming out role,
- 38:34Speaker 1: like it was so much hype on that movie, and
- 38:38Speaker 1: then it just bombed because it was bad. Her acting
- 38:46Speaker 1: was bad. Surely somebody okay, we got to do something.
- 38:52Speaker 1: There was a screening somewhere where they're like, are we
- 38:56Speaker 1: really gonna do this? Yeah?
- 38:58Speaker 2: It really makes you one her about Hollywood and speaking
- 39:01Speaker 2: of choices that get made, because there are movies that
- 39:06Speaker 2: have been made that have never been released. Uh, but
- 39:13Speaker 2: someone decided to still release Showgirls.
- 39:18Speaker 1: I you know, I think they thought that again, that
- 39:22Speaker 1: was at a time that was right after like Basic Instinct,
- 39:25Speaker 1: and I think they thought that Elizabeth Berkeley could just
- 39:28Speaker 1: be the new you know it girl, and she just
- 39:34Speaker 1: it was a bad, bad script that she couldn't act.
- 39:37Speaker 3: Uh.
- 39:38Speaker 1: Well, yeah, and you know, our buddy Tone Bells had
- 39:41Speaker 1: been in the Looney Tunes Roadrunner movie that they're finally
- 39:45Speaker 1: going to release. That's what do they actually did that?
- 39:50Speaker 1: It was pre COVID.
- 39:51Speaker 3: I think, yeah, it's.
- 39:53Speaker 2: At that movie's old and then it just got shelved
- 39:55Speaker 2: for some reason. And the and the cast in that
- 39:58Speaker 2: movie is stacked, and yeah, our buddy Tone is in him.
- 40:02Speaker 2: It's got John Cena and it's and it looks good
- 40:07Speaker 2: at least based on the trailer.
- 40:09Speaker 3: I'll tell you this much. I bet it's better than Showgirls.
- 40:19Speaker 1: If it's not Neim, we'll probably be able to get
- 40:21Speaker 1: no tone on the show more.
- 40:25Speaker 2: I think he may need to join the show at
- 40:27Speaker 2: that point. Back inside the Treehouse, Dan and Trey a
- 40:34Speaker 2: couple quick hitters before we leave for today, the first
- 40:39Speaker 2: of which is a Florida man is suing Open Ai
- 40:44Speaker 2: because he says that the company's chat bot chat GPT,
- 40:48Speaker 2: gave him incorrect and dangerous medical advice.
- 40:53Speaker 1: Oh my goodness, there's an extra special aspect.
- 40:59Speaker 3: To this story.
- 41:01Speaker 2: According to the lawsuit, Scott Winters, a fifty five year
- 41:05Speaker 2: old pastor, often turned to chat gpt for medical advice
- 41:09Speaker 2: when he experienced health problems. The pseud alleges that chatbot
- 41:13Speaker 2: eventually diagnosed him with dysautonomia, a nervous system disorder, and
- 41:18Speaker 2: developed a personalized recovery plan what specific constructions for him
- 41:22Speaker 2: to follow on how to heal his body. But when
- 41:25Speaker 2: he had a massive pulmonary embolism in July of twenty
- 41:29Speaker 2: five due to multiple blood clots in both of his
- 41:31Speaker 2: lungs that brought him to the brink of death, he
- 41:35Speaker 2: was pretty miffed. When it turns out that he had
- 41:38Speaker 2: been misdiagnosed by chat GPT.
- 41:43Speaker 1: Man of God, trust godless machine to give him medical diagnosis?
- 41:49Speaker 1: What can go wrong? And you read the story, A
- 41:52Speaker 1: part of it was based on the fact because he
- 41:54Speaker 1: used chat gp or. I don't know if chat GBT
- 41:57Speaker 1: or open air or whatever, but he used it a lot,
- 42:01Speaker 1: and so chat GPT knew he was a pastor and
- 42:06Speaker 1: framed some of the answers to go along with his faith.
- 42:11Speaker 1: It's like, but, yeah, what's at a certain point You've
- 42:22Speaker 1: just you've you've you're now a Christian scientist two point
- 42:26Speaker 1: oh where they they won't go to the doctor, but
- 42:29Speaker 1: instead of so instead of going to a doctor, you've
- 42:32Speaker 1: gone full circle and now you're trusting the godless you know,
- 42:36Speaker 1: machine to give you medical advice. You you have no
- 42:39Speaker 1: one but to blame, you know, I have no sympathy
- 42:43Speaker 1: for you whatsoever, sir.
- 42:47Speaker 3: That's just so stupid. Uh yeah, what do you?
- 42:54Speaker 2: What do you?
- 42:54Speaker 1: What do you? How? How how are you getting? What
- 42:58Speaker 1: do you say to your congregation trusting God? Well you didn't.
- 43:07Speaker 3: Yeah, It's like, well, what happened to praying? Well?
- 43:09Speaker 2: I just I stopped praying and just decided to ask
- 43:13Speaker 2: chat GPT what it thought. Uh doctor's notes later vastly
- 43:20Speaker 2: contradicted chat GPT's alleged diagnosis. The suit alleges that chat
- 43:25Speaker 2: gpt went beyond its scope by providing medical advice, and
- 43:28Speaker 2: that the chatbot should have escalated crisis safeguards and directed
- 43:32Speaker 2: him to medical personnel. Instead, it allegedly dissuaded him from
- 43:37Speaker 2: seeking that help and instead offered him unqualified diagnoses and
- 43:41Speaker 2: personalized treatment plans. According to open Ai spokesperson, they said
- 43:48Speaker 2: that chat gpt is not a doctor and should never
- 43:50Speaker 2: be used as a substitute for medical care, diagnosis, or treatment.
- 43:54Speaker 2: Treating chatbots as the whole story behind people's medical decisions
- 43:58Speaker 2: or outcomes oversimplifies a much bigger challenge and risks getting
- 44:02Speaker 2: in the way of people accessing powerful new tools that
- 44:05Speaker 2: can aid them in their health journey.
- 44:10Speaker 1: And just as a side note on this story, I
- 44:12Speaker 1: don't know if you in your whatever you pulled up,
- 44:16Speaker 1: if it says that where he is Florida, and and
- 44:23Speaker 1: you know, now we it's making me look at AI
- 44:28Speaker 1: in a new a new light, because maybe AI is
- 44:33Speaker 1: going to be Darwinism two point zero. It could it's
- 44:37Speaker 1: gonna thin the herd yes in a totally different way.
- 44:42Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like, all of a sudden, natural selection isn't
- 44:45Speaker 2: so natural. It's more self imposed. Yeah, it's self inflicted.
- 44:49Speaker 1: I mean we we we fear AI that is going
- 44:52Speaker 1: to take us out on a mass level. Maybe it's
- 44:54Speaker 1: going to start from the bottom and work its way
- 44:56Speaker 1: up and it's just going to call the herd of
- 44:58Speaker 1: the idiots. And I'm a okay with that.
- 45:01Speaker 3: I am absolutely here for it and I'll enjoy the show.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Just make sure you document it and we get the stories.
- 45:07Speaker 1: Please video at times.
- 45:09Speaker 2: M like if you type in you've got a runny
- 45:12Speaker 2: nose into chat GPT and it says, hey, you have
- 45:15Speaker 2: a serious illness and you're going to die, and you
- 45:18Speaker 2: then decide to throw yourself off of a roof to
- 45:20Speaker 2: do it yourself, well then.
- 45:24Speaker 3: Okay, yeah. I mean.
- 45:28Speaker 1: If you ask chat GBT, hey play me a song
- 45:31Speaker 1: and it doesn't go you know where you are and
- 45:34Speaker 1: you know, all of a sudden, if you're cruising through
- 45:36Speaker 1: oak Cliff and it chooses n w A, You're going
