- 0:31what is going on everybody
- 0:33welcome to lunch with the
- 0:35Clydesdale it's lunchtime
- 0:37we're here to hang out
- 0:38again uh so uh what's going
- 0:40on uh yesterday we talked
- 0:44about uh an earworm what's
- 0:46going on James Corey um
- 0:51Corey always talks about
- 0:52his ads when he comes in
- 0:53here um I have I have
- 0:56premium on my Clydesdale
- 0:58channel so I don't get the ads
- 1:01appreciate that you do helps
- 1:04monetize us so there you go
- 1:08um yesterday we talked
- 1:11about an earworm uh
- 1:12yesterday whistle by flow
- 1:14rider was stuck in my head
- 1:15I was trying to figure out
- 1:16a way to do get it gone
- 1:18went upstairs played it
- 1:20after the show yesterday
- 1:22got it out of my head it worked then
- 1:26I've been cleaning out my
- 1:27garage and clean out my garage.
- 1:30It's getting warm.
- 1:31It's supposed to be like in
- 1:31the mid seventies this week
- 1:33by the end of the week.
- 1:34Sixty nine is what they're saying today.
- 1:38So I've been cleaning out my
- 1:39garage bit by bit.
- 1:40We have a big garbage can
- 1:42that we have to put out at
- 1:43the curb every week.
- 1:45And I filled that up last
- 1:47week over the weekend
- 1:49trying to get that garage clean up.
- 1:52woke up at three a.m in a
- 1:54panic because garage the
- 1:56garbage pickup is was this
- 1:58morning and I forgot to put
- 2:00the garbage out so three
- 2:02a.m put on my shoes put on
- 2:05a shirt haul ass down the
- 2:08stairs out to the garage
- 2:10grab my can take it to the
- 2:12curb and get back and then
- 2:16for some reason
- 2:18The song Unwritten by Natasha Benningfield,
- 2:22Bennington, Benningfield,
- 2:25gets stuck in my head for
- 2:27the remainder of the night
- 2:29and through the morning.
- 2:33So now I got to flush that
- 2:34one out of my head and I
- 2:35have no idea why neither
- 2:38one of these songs are things that I, um,
- 2:41that I listened to on a regular basis,
- 2:45why they're getting stuck in my head.
- 2:47Uh,
- 2:47but apparently my story is still
- 2:49unwritten, um,
- 2:52after what happened last night.
- 2:53But anyway, I got the garbage out.
- 2:55Garbage did pick it up today.
- 2:56I have an empty can, uh,
- 2:58Did a little bit more on my
- 3:00morning break today.
- 3:01Went out and got rid of some
- 3:03stuff out of my garage.
- 3:05Put out my Adirondack chairs
- 3:07on the front porch.
- 3:09So, yeah,
- 3:09we're getting ready for some
- 3:10warmer weather here in Ohio.
- 3:12Cannot wait for that.
- 3:17Julian Iford says the Bears
- 3:20offensive line got a lot better.
- 3:22It sure did.
- 3:24The one thing we wore...
- 3:29we lacked completely last
- 3:31year was an offensive line
- 3:33um I know people say that
- 3:35caleb williams held on to
- 3:36the ball too long
- 3:37But part of that is people
- 3:39were in his face so fast,
- 3:41he had to scramble.
- 3:43And then his athleticism
- 3:45made the plays go on and on.
- 3:48Now, that didn't happen on every play.
- 3:50I know that there's still
- 3:52development there for him.
- 3:53But the rush was coming up
- 3:56the middle so fast.
- 3:57And in the last week, two new guards,
- 4:00a brand new center,
- 4:02all vast improvements over
- 4:04what was there last year.
- 4:07When you get an all-pro
- 4:08guard in Joe Tooney and
- 4:11someone that Ben Johnson
- 4:13has worked with in the past,
- 4:14like Joshua Jackson,
- 4:16and then you get Drew...
- 4:19The Al Falcon Center yesterday,
- 4:21a vast improvement over
- 4:22what we had there.
- 4:24Actually a veteran,
- 4:25a pro who knows how to call protections.
- 4:29So happy.
- 4:30And then getting Grady
- 4:31Jackson yesterday was a huge surprise.
- 4:34We've been looking for a
- 4:35three technique on the defense forever.
- 4:39So yeah,
- 4:40trenches are getting stronger in Chicago.
- 4:43Maybe someone's actually
- 4:45building that team in a way
- 4:46that makes sense.
- 4:48And we'll,
- 4:49lead to longer term success
- 4:51than what we've seen in the past.
- 4:54I don't know if you guys are
- 4:55members of the Savon
- 4:56channel or are fans of behind the scenes.
- 4:59Just got the notification.
- 5:01Part three has just released.
- 5:03And I know they're only up
- 5:04for a few hours.
- 5:06So letting you guys know
- 5:07that just came across four
- 5:09minutes ago that behind the
- 5:11scenes volume three has been released.
- 5:13So I'm going to have to
- 5:14check that out right after
- 5:15my one o'clock meeting.
- 5:18So I don't miss that before it's pulled.
- 5:22um so twenty five twenty
- 5:24five point two is well
- 5:27let's talk about this we're
- 5:28talking about youtube let's
- 5:29talk about the big drama
- 5:31story of the morning
- 5:33Yesterday,
- 5:33it was announced that the World
- 5:34Fitness Project was going
- 5:36to start putting out a
- 5:37series of athlete profile videos,
- 5:40starting with Jeff Adler.
- 5:43It was released last night.
- 5:46I saw it in my queue as I
- 5:48was getting ready for bed, and I thought,
- 5:50this is going to be more
- 5:51visual than audio.
- 5:53So I'm going to wait till
- 5:54tomorrow morning to watch
- 5:56it where I can kind of watch it,
- 5:58soak it in, see what they have going on.
- 6:02And it's funny because
- 6:02Carolyn actually texted me
- 6:04that they were bringing this out.
- 6:05So then I looked for it and
- 6:07we were talking.
- 6:08She's really excited about
- 6:09the athlete profile.
- 6:11It's being done by the
- 6:12Buttery Bros and a team
- 6:14that they've put together.
- 6:16My only worry is that the
- 6:20Buttery Bros production is
- 6:22the same thing as
- 6:24over and over again it's and
- 6:26not that it's bad they're
- 6:27really good at what they do
- 6:30but man I'm looking for
- 6:31something new something
- 6:32creative um something
- 6:37different that we haven't
- 6:38seen before and sarah
- 6:40actually jumps in here and
- 6:42kind of echoes what
- 6:43actually happened she
- 6:45watched the adler one
- 6:46nothing exciting all the
- 6:47same stuff as we've seen in
- 6:48other buttery row videos
- 6:50lots of product placement for podium too
- 6:54See, that's a shame.
- 6:55Like I want athlete profiles,
- 6:58but I want something deeper,
- 7:00something that, um,
- 7:07I am all about storytelling.
- 7:09When I have an athlete on,
- 7:10I want them to tell me stories.
- 7:13I don't want it to be like
- 7:14this very produced, slick thing.
- 7:18And I guess that's what I'm
- 7:20looking for when it comes
- 7:22to these athlete profiles.
- 7:25I want something more authentic,
- 7:28something... And I know we
- 7:30overuse the term authentic,
- 7:33but I want it to be real.
- 7:35I want it to be...
- 7:38uh something more uh tr says
- 7:44it was d a deeper adler
- 7:45profile profile nothing
- 7:47like the buttery bro some
- 7:49other contributors made
- 7:50most of the footage um he
- 7:58said he wants to compete a
- 7:59ton but from the other
- 8:01podcasts it sounds like he
- 8:03dropped out of waza indie
- 8:04because it was too much
- 8:07think that was a narrative I
- 8:08I don't we don't know
- 8:10what's going on he could
- 8:11have had a nick an injury
- 8:13it's not it's the off
- 8:15season not the real season
- 8:17what priority does he put
- 8:18on that um that we'll have
- 8:23to see I don't I don't know um
- 8:27again I wish I could have
- 8:28seen it I want to I wanted
- 8:31to like look at it from an
- 8:33analysis standpoint of are
- 8:35we getting something new in these
- 8:39in these features or not.
- 8:41But it appears that there
- 8:43was some lines crossed with
- 8:45CrossFit because that is
- 8:47where the copyright
- 8:48infringement came from.
- 8:50And this is posted from
- 8:52Andrew Hiller's Instagram
- 8:55where someone tried to watch the video.
- 8:57The video is no longer
- 8:58available due to a
- 8:59copyright claim by CrossFit LLC.
- 9:03so I don't know what again I
- 9:06did not get to see it I put
- 9:07it off last night not
- 9:09knowing it was going to be
- 9:11um pulled and so I don't
- 9:14know sarah's saying that
- 9:15there were definitely a lot
- 9:17of clips from crossfit but
- 9:18it could have been buttery
- 9:19bros footage too when you
- 9:22sign a media agreement with
- 9:24crossfit llc if you are
- 9:26using more than x number of seconds um
- 9:32And it's very descriptive.
- 9:33It's like you can't,
- 9:35no piece can be longer than
- 9:36thirty seconds.
- 9:38No overall usage of that
- 9:39footage can be longer than two minutes,
- 9:42I think, two or three minutes.
- 9:46If they did more than that,
- 9:47even if they took the footage themselves,
- 9:51they would have to get
- 9:52permission from CrossFit
- 9:53LLC to use that footage.
- 9:57We have to sign that media
- 9:58agreement every year at the games.
- 10:00Every year when CrossFit was
- 10:02running the semifinals,
- 10:04we had to sign those agreements.
- 10:06And you get the same thing
- 10:07if you go to Rogue.
- 10:08You get the same thing if
- 10:09you go to Wadapalooza.
- 10:11There are very strict
- 10:12standards as to what you
- 10:15can use and what you cannot
- 10:17use for commercial use.
- 10:20And I would claim that this
- 10:22is commercial use.
- 10:23You are promoting something
- 10:26other than CrossFit with the footage.
- 10:29And I am sure that if there was a lot,
- 10:33as Julian echoes as well,
- 10:35I watched it last night,
- 10:36a lot of CrossFit Games footage.
- 10:39I'm assuming that because of that,
- 10:42CrossFit did have the right,
- 10:44based on that media
- 10:45agreement that they signed,
- 10:47that they probably used
- 10:48more than was allowed
- 10:49without their written permission.
- 10:53So it'll be interesting to
- 10:55see if they get that
- 10:57permission or if they have
- 10:58to re-edit it and do
- 11:01something else with it.
- 11:04But I was anxious to see it
- 11:05and see how if it was
- 11:07different than what we've
- 11:08been getting and get
- 11:09something new and something
- 11:10creative in this space to
- 11:13learn more about these athletes.
- 11:18I am still trying with the
- 11:21WFP to get media access to Indianapolis.
- 11:28I've not been responded to
- 11:30at all from them other than Will Morad.
- 11:33He has responded immediately to me.
- 11:36um but everybody else there
- 11:38I'm not getting a response
- 11:39at all so I uh I'll have to
- 11:43see what is going on there
- 11:46I sent will a message
- 11:47yesterday asking for any
- 11:49kind of update whether
- 11:50they're choosing to go in a
- 11:51different direction uh not
- 11:53allowing us or whatnot but to
- 11:57I sent him a proposal on
- 11:59something I had an idea for
- 12:01in doing features about
- 12:03their challengers and not
- 12:05necessarily the contracted athletes
- 12:07and that got no response and
- 12:09then I've asked for um
- 12:12media credentials for the
- 12:13indianapolis tour event and
- 12:16no response there yet my
- 12:19photography videography guy
- 12:21has gotten a response with
- 12:23a link on how to apply
- 12:24saying that they would get
- 12:26preferential treatment
- 12:27because they emailed them
- 12:29ahead of time which I did
- 12:30as well but I'm not getting
- 12:31that same link uh to be able to apply
- 12:37So it's really interesting
- 12:38what's going on over there.
- 12:43Sarah says, next week was Laura.
- 12:46They may have to chop it up
- 12:47if they can't use games footage.
- 12:50Again, if you sign the media agreement,
- 12:53you can use some games footage,
- 12:55but it is a certain amount
- 12:57that they can use.
- 13:05Uh,
- 13:05they just posted that media passes are
- 13:07available from Thursday.
- 13:13Okay.
- 13:15I have to go check it out.
- 13:16But again, um,
- 13:19I've also made a proposal to
- 13:21them where I have not been
- 13:22responded to as well.
- 13:23So we'll have to see what happens there.
- 13:25We've been very supportive
- 13:26of the WFP on this channel.
- 13:29Um, I want to give them a chance.
- 13:30I want to see what they can do.
- 13:31That's new and creative.
- 13:33Um,
- 13:35So I don't know what the deal is there.
- 13:47So let's see what else we got here.
- 13:50We got the leaderboard is final.
- 13:53Well, not final, final, but, you know,
- 13:54final for twenty five point
- 13:58two and no big surprises.
- 14:05on the men's leaderboard.
- 14:07Uh,
- 14:07I was looking at this before we went live,
- 14:10uh,
- 14:12Colton Mertens wins twenty
- 14:15five point two and is in
- 14:17the lead overall.
- 14:18These are the overall
- 14:19standings after twenty five point two.
- 14:22So you've Colton on top, Colin Bossard,
- 14:25Jeff Adler, Austin Hatfield, Alan Pepper,
- 14:28Kale Lehman, somebody new to the mix.
- 14:31Andre Fedotov, Jason Hopper, Ricky Gerard,
- 14:34Justin Medeiros, Jay Crouch.
- 14:38So I've already read Dallin, Jason,
- 14:40Justin.
- 14:42I think that our guy James
- 14:45Sprague is really going to
- 14:48get punished a lot in this
- 14:49open punishment thing.
- 14:52So we'll see there.
- 14:55Some other notable names, Bailey Martin,
- 14:57Roman Krennikoff,
- 14:59George Sterner making a
- 15:00comeback from the team division.
- 15:05Sam Cornwall, Sestoval, Trayvon Benton.
- 15:08We have been following as a
- 15:10semifinal athlete for years.
- 15:12Awesome to see him up here at twenty six.
- 15:17Peter Ellis, Caden Hogan, another teen,
- 15:19nineteen years old,
- 15:21sitting in twenty eighth place.
- 15:23Ben Fowler,
- 15:24James Sprague at thirty second.
- 15:26Joshua Hong, Harry Lightfoot,
- 15:29Phil Muscarella.
- 15:32Enrico Zanoni.
- 15:36scott pancheck the old man
- 15:37at look at that knees must
- 15:41be feeling good this year
- 15:43ty jenkins and william
- 15:44leahy the fourth is sitting
- 15:46in fiftieth that's the top
- 15:48fifty for your men and on
- 15:52the women's side we have
- 15:56miram van roer fisa goffey
- 15:59killing it this year
- 16:02Our very own Carolyn Prevost
- 16:04sitting in fourth place
- 16:06going into the final event.
- 16:08How about that?
- 16:12So awesome to get to hang
- 16:13out with her every Sunday
- 16:15night and get to chat with
- 16:17her throughout the week.
- 16:18Lucy Campbell, Danielle Brandon,
- 16:20Marissa Flowers, another favorite of mine,
- 16:25Andrea Soberg, Kristen Holta.
- 16:34Ariel Loewen, Alexis Raptus,
- 16:35Lucy McGonigal,
- 16:38Erica Folo making a big
- 16:39comeback this week with a
- 16:41great performance.
- 16:42Rebecca Fusile, Elena Buds, Trista Smith,
- 16:46Mano Anganese, Amy Kringle,
- 16:51Sarah Sigmund's daughter, Maddie Sturt,
- 16:54Claudia Gluck, Hannah Hardy, Abby Domet,
- 17:02Yeah.
- 17:03One thing I did want to point out,
- 17:05if you haven't seen on her Instagram,
- 17:07Mano Agony,
- 17:08something has happened in her family.
- 17:09She has not disclosed what that is.
- 17:12But she did say she's taking
- 17:14a couple days off of social
- 17:16media to deal with whatever
- 17:18it is that is going on with her family.
- 17:20And she is going to continue to compete.
- 17:23And thanks for all the
- 17:25thoughts and comments.
- 17:26prayers and all of that
- 17:27stuff but she will be off
- 17:29social media for a few days
- 17:31so whatever she's going
- 17:32through our thoughts and
- 17:34prayers go out to her and
- 17:36hopefully she'll be good
- 17:38and ready to go for twenty
- 17:39five point three so that is
- 17:43your top fifty women as it sits right now
- 17:49Uh,
- 17:49we had repeat winners from week one to
- 17:52week two.
- 17:53And yesterday I posed this question.
- 17:55I'm anxious to hear if you
- 17:57guys have thought about this at all,
- 17:58because we've had the same
- 18:00winner from week one to week two.
- 18:03Are we testing too much of
- 18:04the same thing in a three
- 18:05week open that the same
- 18:07people are winning weeks
- 18:09one and weeks two.
- 18:12that's very hard to do.
- 18:14And both of these are guys are complete,
- 18:17are complete and, uh, amazing athletes,
- 18:22but Miriam has never even
- 18:23made it to the games before.
- 18:25And she's winning two open workouts.
- 18:28Um,
- 18:28is it too engine intensive what we're
- 18:31going through or is it just
- 18:34a kind of fluky that these
- 18:36two things are just things
- 18:38those two athletes are really,
- 18:39really good at.
- 18:40Um,
- 18:44If you have not seen the
- 18:45Colton Mertens video of
- 18:47doing this workout,
- 18:49it is pure perfection.
- 18:55I don't know if anybody
- 18:56could ever do it faster.
- 18:59I say that, and someone probably will,
- 19:01but the standards were met
- 19:04on every aspect of that workout.
- 19:07The transitions were about flawless.
- 19:11He went unbroken over everything.
- 19:14He even squatted the first
- 19:19thruster in a way that made
- 19:20it such a small movement.
- 19:23I do not know.
- 19:25I do not know if anybody
- 19:26could do it faster.
- 19:28Um, four Oh one is completely insane.
- 19:31And I watching the video, I could not,
- 19:35I could not find anything
- 19:37to nitpick about on the
- 19:38movement standard at all.
- 19:40Like it was perfect.
- 19:42I just don't, I don't know what to say.
- 19:45Like that is, it was beautiful to watch.
- 19:49Um,
- 19:49it gave me chills watching it because
- 19:52it just could not be done any better.
- 19:56And if you haven't seen it,
- 19:57please go check it out.
- 19:59It's only four minutes and one second,
- 20:01so it shouldn't take you
- 20:02long to get through it.
- 20:04Corey says Colton's video
- 20:05was absurd to watch.
- 20:08Absurd in such a good way, though.
- 20:11He just was incredible, what he did there.
- 20:19Um, the depth on the squats were,
- 20:20was perfect.
- 20:21Everything was at full extension.
- 20:24Uh, his movement on the,
- 20:25on the barbell or on the, um,
- 20:28on the rig was amazing.
- 20:29He,
- 20:31and he didn't even like slow down
- 20:34transition, uh, to the rig after, uh,
- 20:38the thrusters.
- 20:38It was chef's kiss, chef's kiss.
- 20:43It was so freaking good.
- 20:46So, yeah,
- 20:47go check that out if you have
- 20:48four minutes to waste this afternoon.
- 20:53I did want to talk quickly
- 20:55about Dave's Week in Review.
- 20:59If you have not seen the Week in Review,
- 21:04he opens up by talking about the leaks.
- 21:09And what he says is,
- 21:12that there was a lot of talk
- 21:14about the leaks for,
- 21:16for twenty five point two.
- 21:18And it was pretty rampant.
- 21:22But my clue was pretty easy
- 21:26and people could figure it
- 21:27out from the clue that I
- 21:30gave with that workout.
- 21:35And while I would say that
- 21:37this was probably the
- 21:38easiest clue he's ever
- 21:40given for a workout.
- 21:42I think it was other things
- 21:43that prompted it,
- 21:44but he goes on to say in other leaks,
- 21:47he thinks that his clue was
- 21:48pretty easy to figure out.
- 21:50And that's why people have
- 21:51been guessing what the
- 21:53workout is other than this week's clue.
- 21:59I don't think any clue he
- 22:01has given has given anybody
- 22:03any idea what the actual workout was.
- 22:06And he's never really
- 22:08explained what the clues
- 22:09are for us to even get a
- 22:11read on what his mindset is
- 22:14going into these clues.
- 22:16If you have ever figured out
- 22:19a Dave Castro clue for a workout,
- 22:22you are...
- 22:24a Mensa candidate that is
- 22:26well above my brain
- 22:29capacity because I have never,
- 22:30ever been able to figure
- 22:32out the connection from the clue.
- 22:35Even knowing the workout afterwards,
- 22:37I still cannot make the
- 22:39connection from the clue to the workout.
- 22:42So in my opinion,
- 22:43him saying that people
- 22:45figure out what the workouts are.
- 22:47They're not really leaks.
- 22:49They're figuring them out
- 22:50from the clues that he gives and,
- 22:53is a bit preposterous.
- 22:56Now, I hate the leaks.
- 22:59I want them to stop.
- 23:01I wish they would stop.
- 23:03However, Sarah says,
- 23:10the chicken wing last year
- 23:11connecting to muscle-ups wasn't too bad.
- 23:15Okay.
- 23:16Last year was the only year
- 23:17I didn't do the open due to
- 23:21being in the hospital.
- 23:22So I didn't follow the clues
- 23:24as much last year.
- 23:27So maybe he's just... As he ages,
- 23:29the clues are getting easier.
- 23:32But my God, some of those clues...
- 23:35And even Justin Medeiros
- 23:37talks about it on the Boys
- 23:38Unlimited podcast,
- 23:40where he was going to do a
- 23:41show where he connected the
- 23:44clues to the workouts,
- 23:46and he only could make the
- 23:47connection on one of them.
- 23:51And he said the video just
- 23:52became a waste of time,
- 23:53and he probably should have
- 23:56thought about it more before he did it.
- 23:59that's how I feel um but
- 24:02again with the leaks um he
- 24:05said that there that he's
- 24:06already been sent some
- 24:07versions of what people are
- 24:09saying is the leak this
- 24:10week he would not confirm
- 24:11nor deny that that is a
- 24:13leak and um he gives he
- 24:17said but it whatever the
- 24:18workout was that we came up with
- 24:21back in February is going to
- 24:23be the workout that is still released.
- 24:25He's not changing anything.
- 24:27And either you'll find out
- 24:28you're right or you're wrong this week.
- 24:32To me,
- 24:32that tells me that he thinks we're
- 24:34all wrong,
- 24:36but who knows what I think
- 24:39CrossFit should do is truly
- 24:43have like one or two decoy workouts that
- 24:48that they're working on and
- 24:49a real workout.
- 24:51And then when the leaks go out,
- 24:52there's more than one leak
- 24:54one that will then tell you
- 24:57who the leaks are as to who,
- 25:00what workout they bring back to you.
- 25:03And two,
- 25:04it just causes confusion because
- 25:06now you have more movements.
- 25:07You have to worry about more
- 25:08things you have to worry
- 25:09about and which one is real.
- 25:12And then at some point people will be like,
- 25:13screw it.
- 25:15We can't figure it out.
- 25:17So maybe lean into the leaks,
- 25:21create a couple dummy
- 25:22workouts that you tell a
- 25:25few people are the real thing,
- 25:27and then it leaks out in different ways.
- 25:30You find out who it is and
- 25:31you confuse the community as well.
- 25:35And so it's still a surprise
- 25:37on the Thursday announcement.
- 25:42Just my two cents.
- 25:43I think that because people
- 25:45are so hungry to be in the know,
- 25:48they're going to look for it.
- 25:50So set traps of dummy
- 25:51workouts somewhere so that
- 25:54people think that they have it.
- 25:56They spread it.
- 25:57It's the wrong information.
- 25:58People prepare for the wrong
- 25:59thing because they're
- 26:01trying to get one up on it on people.
- 26:05And then you release the
- 26:06real workout on Thursday
- 26:09and all is well in the world.
- 26:19um andrew says that would be
- 26:22a good idea do the graphics
- 26:23and everything for three
- 26:24different workouts and then
- 26:26use the work for the real
- 26:27one not sure how tough that
- 26:30would be on the media team
- 26:32yeah I think that's what
- 26:34you do you have three
- 26:36graphics ready to go one of
- 26:39them's it's the shell game right
- 26:42Is it workout number one,
- 26:44workout number two, workout number three?
- 26:48And then one of them gets
- 26:49released on Thursday and there you go.
- 26:57And you wouldn't even have
- 26:57to put a lot of work into
- 26:58the other workouts.
- 27:00You just have to find some
- 27:02good ones that are just sitting like,
- 27:04I mean,
- 27:05there's workouts everywhere on the
- 27:07internet, right?
- 27:07You just grab, grab a couple.
- 27:11make the graphics up for
- 27:13them have a couple people
- 27:15test some movements from
- 27:16the them uh things like
- 27:20that I think that I think
- 27:25that's that's a good idea
- 27:27and with andrew's help it
- 27:29becomes a brilliant idea um
- 27:42course someone would then
- 27:43leak all three I think
- 27:45that's fine I think if
- 27:47there's three workouts
- 27:48floating around nobody
- 27:49knows which one is going to
- 27:50be released on the thursday
- 27:52right it still causes
- 27:57enough confusion to make it
- 27:59a surprise and the more
- 28:05people are wrong the less
- 28:06people are going to listen so
- 28:13don't know I think I think
- 28:14it'd be okay uh one other
- 28:20thing I wanted to just
- 28:21bring up is I think right
- 28:23after the open uh I'm gonna
- 28:26bring back top five tuesday
- 28:28and I'm gonna talk to
- 28:29andrew hopefully he'll come
- 28:30on with me and I'll have
- 28:32jay birch on and we'll do
- 28:34the top five hardest movements to judge
- 28:40I want to hear from the judges themselves.
- 28:43Andrew has judged at all levels,
- 28:46all the way to the games.
- 28:47Jay Birch has done a lot of
- 28:48high-end competitions like TFX, Rogue,
- 28:53things like that,
- 28:54and then get their input as
- 28:56to what the top five
- 28:58hardest movements to judge are.
- 29:05And then we can have a
- 29:09discussion as to should
- 29:12those movements be – should
- 29:18we be careful about putting
- 29:20those movements into an
- 29:22online competition?
- 29:26So I think that would be a
- 29:28cool discussion.
- 29:29So I think after the Open's over –
- 29:31going to contact andrew
- 29:33contact jay birch have them
- 29:35come on we'll do a top five
- 29:37hardest movements to judge
- 29:39and then have a discussion
- 29:40about what does that mean
- 29:42for online competitions and
- 29:48you guys are throwing out
- 29:49some great uh guys are
- 29:54throwing out some great
- 29:55suggestions and andrew we
- 29:57could do one of each we
- 29:58could do a top five in
- 29:59person a top five online
- 30:08I know for me, like speaking to this,
- 30:11when I judged at regionals,
- 30:13twenty eighteen,
- 30:15twenty eighteen handstand
- 30:17pushups and they did twenty person heats.
- 30:21Just for the judge to be
- 30:23able to get into a spot
- 30:25where they weren't blocking
- 30:27the athlete and to be able
- 30:29to actually see the wall.
- 30:32And to see if their butt was
- 30:33on the wall or they were
- 30:35still at full extension
- 30:36when they're doing the
- 30:37handstand pushup was
- 30:38practically impossible.
- 30:40And it was really the
- 30:41situation that made it so hard to judge,
- 30:45not necessarily the
- 30:46movement itself or the athletes,
- 30:48but when you're crammed
- 30:50into a twenty person heat
- 30:52in a ten lane setup,
- 30:56it made it really tight in
- 30:57that rig area to even get
- 31:00into a good position to judge it.
- 31:05And so I think those are
- 31:06things that need to be thought about,
- 31:08especially for in-person competitions.
- 31:11Because online in a gym,
- 31:14you can make the setup so
- 31:15you have space for the
- 31:17judge to kind of move around.
- 31:18They just have to avoid
- 31:20blocking the camera if you
- 31:22have to submit the video.
- 31:24But yeah.
- 31:27And then on contrast,
- 31:29when I was doing rogue, um,
- 31:31in the COVID rogue
- 31:34competition that was online,
- 31:36they set up the floor plans
- 31:38and basically gave the
- 31:40judge a spot on that floor
- 31:42plan to be able to see the
- 31:44movement and not block any
- 31:46of the cameras that were
- 31:47set up for the online competition.
- 31:50Um,
- 31:51and that was done at such a high level.
- 31:53Um, that was an amazing experience.
- 32:01So,
- 32:01but I think it'd be a pretty cool
- 32:03discussion and we'll bring
- 32:04that back right after the
- 32:06open and start doing that
- 32:08and do some fun top five
- 32:10Tuesdays moving forward.
- 32:13So I have again today,
- 32:15I have a one o'clock
- 32:16meeting with my team.
- 32:19So I'm going to cut this one short today.
- 32:22So thank you guys for being here.
- 32:26Get back to work, you hooligans.
- 32:28Lunch break's over.
- 32:29We will see you next time on
- 32:32Lunch with Clydesdale.
- 32:33Bye, guys.
