- 0:13Speaker 1: Up this artist on artists on artists on artists. Do
- 0:17Speaker 1: you know why they call it show business? I always
- 0:19Speaker 1: wondered that. Welcome back to artists on artists on artists
- 0:28Speaker 1: on artists. This week we talk to not the actors.
- 0:32Speaker 5: But the people who coach them into doing what they do.
- 0:36Speaker 5: That's right, We're talking to acting coaches.
- 0:39Speaker 4: De Niro, Paccino, Chastain.
- 0:43Speaker 6: All of these people are people who have taken classes
- 0:46Speaker 6: with people who teach acting. They wouldn't be who they
- 0:49Speaker 6: are without the guides they've had along the way. And
- 0:53Speaker 6: we talked to some of those that do what they do.
- 0:57Speaker 3: From Suzuki to Meisner. They all got different ways of
- 1:01Speaker 3: getting the goods.
- 1:02Speaker 2: So let's sit down and listen. In all right, I
- 1:09Speaker 2: am afraid. I am afraid of you. I am afraid
- 1:14Speaker 2: of your voice. See this is like a great technique
- 1:17Speaker 2: that I use with my students.
- 1:18Speaker 6: I know that technique. I know that technique. I know
- 1:20Speaker 6: it So that's great, that's awesome.
- 1:22Speaker 7: I don't do that kind of stuff, but it's amazing
- 1:25Speaker 7: that so yeah, so I yeah, it's it's it's it's
- 1:30Speaker 7: a group activity kind of like you mirror each other
- 1:34Speaker 7: and you mirror.
- 1:35Speaker 2: Your your basic feelings deep down, and you try to
- 1:38Speaker 2: hit on something that is pain. But I think we're
- 1:40Speaker 2: gonnaet ahead of ourselves or I'm getting ahead of myselves.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I know, I just walked into this room and started talking.
- 1:46Speaker 3: Don't judge yourself like that.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Oh come on, come on. Well, the half of acting
- 1:51Speaker 2: is judgment.
- 1:52Speaker 8: Acting is actually fully judgment. I look at my students.
- 1:56Speaker 8: They come in. I have a really colorful website.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Really important.
- 2:03Speaker 8: That's important because it draws the eye. Yeah, and and
- 2:07Speaker 8: and then I I they come in, they think they're
- 2:10Speaker 8: gonna get someone, and then they get someone different. And
- 2:12Speaker 8: it's me as myself and I'm and I and I
- 2:15Speaker 8: beat them down. I beat them down to eventually build
- 2:17Speaker 8: them up, if I so choose to build them. Sometimes
- 2:20Speaker 8: I just beat them down.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Well, half of half of being a coach is knowing
- 2:24Speaker 2: how to beat somebody up emotionally.
- 2:26Speaker 1: You got to tell them to stop, You got to
- 2:27Speaker 1: tell them to stop.
- 2:28Speaker 5: You gotta listen to their instincts and then tell them no,
- 2:30Speaker 5: cut them down, cut them down right.
- 2:33Speaker 8: Move back home, Move back home to des Moines. You
- 2:36Speaker 8: don't have it. You don't have to be a commercial
- 2:38Speaker 8: actor in this town. I tell them.
- 2:40Speaker 9: There's so many of them from des Moines too, m
- 2:43Speaker 9: so many over here, Okay, I'm speaking of des Moines
- 2:46Speaker 9: and where everyone's from. I'd love to know your names,
- 2:48Speaker 9: because I love to just dive in a well.
- 2:53Speaker 4: So I would love to. I'd love to. I love
- 2:55Speaker 4: to start with that. I am Delilah Daisy.
- 2:57Speaker 6: I am the founder of the Daisy Method, and I
- 3:00Speaker 6: am the author of a book called the Daisy Method,
- 3:03Speaker 6: and I teach out of a guest house in Marina
- 3:07Speaker 6: del Ray.
- 3:09Speaker 8: Amazing.
- 3:10Speaker 2: I've heard your work and I've seen you before, and
- 3:12Speaker 2: it's wonderful to put a name to the book and
- 3:14Speaker 2: to the face.
- 3:15Speaker 6: It's great to see here, it's great to be here.
- 3:17Speaker 6: I'm really excited to see everybody here because I've obviously
- 3:20Speaker 6: known all of you, and I'm excited.
- 3:22Speaker 4: To be here.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Well, my name is Tricky pau Hall, and I am
- 3:28Speaker 2: and sorry, let me take that again. Froze up with
- 3:33Speaker 2: the name stuff. I've always got the acting stuff, never
- 3:35Speaker 2: gotten the slate down. So that's why I teach. That's
- 3:37Speaker 2: why I teach too scared to too scared.
- 3:39Speaker 1: To slates those who cannot do right, those who cannot.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Do exactly teach. I've always hated that.
- 3:44Speaker 8: But ye, can we see your friends? Yeah?
- 3:50Speaker 2: Yeah sure, I'm just oh sorry, I messed up a
- 3:52Speaker 2: little bit, but can't get that slate down. But I
- 3:55Speaker 2: do not teach the slate. I teach how to act.
- 3:57Speaker 2: So my name is Tricky Pa Hall, and I teach
- 4:00Speaker 2: the Tricky method. It's a new acting technique, and I
- 4:03Speaker 2: have a blog all about it on Tricky acting dot com.
- 4:08Speaker 2: And I teach classes. Uh in an old shoe store
- 4:13Speaker 2: in Marina del Rey, Okay.
- 4:19Speaker 4: Yeah, sitting around.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Yeah, so I see you, I see you around.
- 4:23Speaker 6: I tried to buy some some Steve Maddens in your store,
- 4:28Speaker 6: and then I've ended up kind of auditing your class
- 4:30Speaker 6: on accident that happens.
- 4:32Speaker 8: Do you tell me Steve Maddens as well?
- 4:34Speaker 2: You're the ones When I say it's an old shoe store,
- 4:36Speaker 2: it's not a shoe store I've converted into an acting studio.
- 4:39Speaker 2: It's a shoe store that sells old shoes, and I
- 4:42Speaker 2: run an acting class right in the back room, kind
- 4:45Speaker 2: of the changing room area.
- 4:46Speaker 8: Amazing in the changing room in the shoe store. So
- 4:49Speaker 8: the shoe store has got its own changing room.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Well, I watch for privacy, for privacy.
- 4:54Speaker 6: That's why I like it. That's where I like it,
- 4:55Speaker 6: because I don't want anyone seeing my feet.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Well that's the thing with old shoes. I mean, that's
- 4:59Speaker 2: their kind of like m You could get beariss very
- 5:02Speaker 2: easily trying.
- 5:04Speaker 8: I always tell my students, you know, you gotta be careful.
- 5:06Speaker 8: Biggest thing you want to worry about, not your IMDb
- 5:08Speaker 8: star meter rating, not rotten tomatoes, but your wicked feet,
- 5:13Speaker 8: your Wiki feet.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Car You got to play the game. You've got to
- 5:21Speaker 2: play the game.
- 5:21Speaker 8: The game is and that's what I tell my students.
- 5:23Speaker 8: Everything is a game. My name is Esther Soggy Barton.
- 5:28Speaker 8: That's Esther Soggy Bottom. I am a commercial teacher in
- 5:34Speaker 8: Los Angeles. Those who can't teach, So that's my story.
- 5:38Speaker 8: I've never booked a commercial. However, I do know, I
- 5:42Speaker 8: do know how one can go about doing so.
- 5:46Speaker 4: I never had booked.
- 5:47Speaker 8: Have your students, My students have booked my students have
- 5:51Speaker 8: booked mostly non union work because I don't believe in unions.
- 5:56Speaker 8: I don't believe unions are just big clicks that clicks.
- 5:59Speaker 4: It's big your anti union.
- 6:02Speaker 8: I'm anti union ester.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Do you still go out for commercials?
- 6:06Speaker 8: Please call me miss soggy Bottom.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Sorry, Miss soggy Bottom. I thought we were a little more,
- 6:10Speaker 2: but that's fine.
- 6:11Speaker 8: Do I still go out for commercials? I do. I'm
- 6:13Speaker 8: two hundred South. I actually live at two o one South.
- 6:18Speaker 2: As you're right there, you're at the petco.
- 6:21Speaker 8: I'm at the pet COO.
- 6:23Speaker 3: That sounds like the Peco.
- 6:26Speaker 4: I believe.
- 6:28Speaker 8: Yeah, I was. I was working out of a Marina
- 6:30Speaker 8: del Ray, but it felt like, you know, the the
- 6:32Speaker 8: the industry itself. It was just oversaturated, sort of like
- 6:35Speaker 8: improv classes. Anyway, Yeah, live at the pet COO. I
- 6:38Speaker 8: find myself at two hundred South often I do live
- 6:40Speaker 8: it to a one South. Please don't shop to my home.
- 6:44Speaker 8: But again, I think it's really really important that students
- 6:50Speaker 8: take good care of their feet. So I think it's
- 6:52Speaker 8: brilliant to what you're doing. Tricky.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Thank you, thanks amazing.
- 6:57Speaker 5: Oh well, my name is Denise o'nol and I am
- 6:59Speaker 5: no bull Okay, that's what it says on my website.
- 7:03Speaker 5: I teach commercial acting two children, and I work out
- 7:07Speaker 5: of a small studio in Marina del Rey, but also
- 7:09Speaker 5: sometimes in North Hollywood. I am a founder of the
- 7:15Speaker 5: one and only Premiere biden Like Workshop in Los Angeles.
- 7:20Speaker 5: Every kid commercial actor in the world who is successful
- 7:25Speaker 5: has taken my biiten Like workshop. It's four weeks, ten
- 7:30Speaker 5: thousand dollars. Every penney worth it. And when you put
- 7:36Speaker 5: a you put a piece of your you put the
- 7:38Speaker 5: product in your mouth and you go.
- 7:40Speaker 1: You like it in your mouth and you like it.
- 7:42Speaker 1: It's a biiten like like.
- 7:44Speaker 8: I like that, like that like that?
- 7:47Speaker 1: Yeah, oh no, I learned it in uh.
- 7:52Speaker 5: In my Russian theater classes. They taught me this UH
- 7:55Speaker 5: and I brought it over to Hollywood.
- 7:56Speaker 2: But you took you took classes in Russia. Yeah.
- 8:00Speaker 5: I took commercial Hollywood acting classes in Russia and then.
- 8:03Speaker 1: I ran over to Hollywood.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Commercial.
- 8:07Speaker 5: I did Stanislavski commercial acting, God and incredible.
- 8:11Speaker 8: You're actually from Los Angeles proper, So you actually moved
- 8:14Speaker 8: to Russia for the classes I did? Okay, I did.
- 8:19Speaker 5: I saw some great offerings online. I thought, you know,
- 8:21Speaker 5: this is the best. I didn't go to college, right,
- 8:24Speaker 5: I'm self made. I'm Denise nol Noble and I went.
- 8:27Speaker 8: Now, are you saying noble or noble? I'm sorry. Are
- 8:30Speaker 8: you saying noble as in like no bullshit or noble
- 8:33Speaker 8: as in like royal?
- 8:36Speaker 9: I'm not.
- 8:36Speaker 5: I'm not saying noble as a Nobel Peace Prize. I'm
- 8:38Speaker 5: saying noble as in no bullshit.
- 8:41Speaker 8: Your last name is no bullshit, your full length last name.
- 8:45Speaker 5: My last name is is no my my full my
- 8:48Speaker 5: name that I say is no, no bullshit.
- 8:51Speaker 4: It's like m D. It's like it's a g DS.
- 8:53Speaker 4: You say.
- 8:54Speaker 2: You say noble, pretty common thing. It's a pretty common thing.
- 8:58Speaker 8: You have to you just have to forgive me. I'm
- 8:59Speaker 8: from mosa Be kids, so.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Forgive you for Usually when when you mail me something,
- 9:06Speaker 1: I put n B at the end NB.
- 9:09Speaker 8: Okay, understood, understood, Okay.
- 9:11Speaker 3: Good to me, Yeah, good to me.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:13Speaker 10: I'm very fig. I'm very fig. And I run a
- 9:19Speaker 10: little acting class called Barrie's boot Camp. Berry's Acting.
- 9:24Speaker 8: That's confusing, Well, that's confusing. Yeah, a workout class.
- 9:29Speaker 3: People, Yes, miss hockey Bottom and we were first. We
- 9:33Speaker 3: were first, Okay, okay, but we're strong, small and mighty.
- 9:38Speaker 9: Uh, there's no, there's no small actors, only small uh
- 9:43Speaker 9: gems and those guys, those guys never picked up any
- 9:48Speaker 9: of the my lawyers calls.
- 9:50Speaker 3: And so now we're berries acting boot camp. I teach
- 9:55Speaker 3: all over and uh, I teach only men?
- 10:01Speaker 8: Of course? Sure?
- 10:03Speaker 1: Why do you do that? Why do you do that?
- 10:05Speaker 3: It's just my method. I don't I don't know how
- 10:07Speaker 3: to handle those women.
- 10:08Speaker 8: I don't know. Method is only men. That's the method
- 10:11Speaker 8: is only man.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Yes, And I have to be very clear.
- 10:14Speaker 9: I have to be very clear that I don't believe
- 10:16Speaker 9: men should be only the I don't believe only men
- 10:18Speaker 9: should be actors.
- 10:19Speaker 3: I believe in female actors. I just can't coach those girls.
- 10:24Speaker 8: Can I ask you something? What's your take on only
- 10:26Speaker 8: fans only fans?
- 10:29Speaker 4: I'm curious about that too.
- 10:31Speaker 3: What's my take on the website only fans?
- 10:34Speaker 8: Because yeah, I haven't it doesn't the colors on that
- 10:37Speaker 8: website do they put let's?
- 10:41Speaker 2: They're mostly like dark blacks and grays. I believe it's
- 10:44Speaker 2: blues and.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Miss bottom. You love these websites? Huh?
- 10:49Speaker 8: Yeah, I absolutely love a website. My website is so bright,
- 10:53Speaker 8: it just catches the eye.
- 10:54Speaker 6: Let's talk about our website. I love to be talking
- 10:56Speaker 6: about it. I love you to describe your website in detail.
- 10:58Speaker 6: I won't coach.
- 10:59Speaker 8: Okay, you got to You want me to say it
- 11:01Speaker 8: out loud here, Yeah, just describe it.
- 11:04Speaker 1: I don't have a computer, so I just need to
- 11:05Speaker 1: hear it in my brain.
- 11:07Speaker 4: I only have a BlackBerry.
- 11:08Speaker 8: I can only describe it, and I'm willing to do
- 11:09Speaker 8: it because to actually go to the website costs money.
- 11:12Speaker 8: You understand, it's a beautiful website.
- 11:15Speaker 2: How much you've gotta you've gotta pay to enter your website.
- 11:21Speaker 4: There's a pay behind the paywall.
- 11:24Speaker 8: Absolutely, yes, it's a it's a it's a low two
- 11:27Speaker 8: hundred and seventy five dollars to just see the site itself.
- 11:30Speaker 5: So if you're a kid, you want to get into acting,
- 11:32Speaker 5: you want to practice your commercials, you have to go in,
- 11:35Speaker 5: type in your website, pay two hundred and seventy five
- 11:37Speaker 5: dollars and then see what you have available.
- 11:39Speaker 8: And then just see what's available. And all of my
- 11:42Speaker 8: students are worn to secrecy. If I find out that
- 11:45Speaker 8: you've told anyone what's on the website who hasn't paid,
- 11:48Speaker 8: I have done things that God is going to punish
- 11:52Speaker 8: me for, and I won't say here anyway. My website
- 11:54Speaker 8: orange orange catches the eye. And it's not a political color.
- 11:58Speaker 8: It's just I mean, it's bright, it's orange. It's bold
- 12:01Speaker 8: font it says do you really want this? Do you
- 12:04Speaker 8: really want this? That's the big bold letters. And then
- 12:07Speaker 8: underneath it just incursive, it says, really do you want this?
- 12:12Speaker 3: And then and a different color.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Oh, you go soft, you go soft.
- 12:17Speaker 8: And more of a peach. It's more of a peach,
- 12:19Speaker 8: more of a peach.
- 12:20Speaker 2: So your palette is orange and peach.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Right now, you say, very colorful.
- 12:26Speaker 3: I'm not seeing a lot of color yet.
- 12:28Speaker 8: Well, here's the thing. If one set, you have an
- 12:32Speaker 8: option there at the bottom, a button you can push no.
- 12:34Speaker 8: You know what, I've thought about it. I don't really
- 12:36Speaker 8: want it.
- 12:38Speaker 4: You paid the money, so you.
- 12:43Speaker 5: Push no, you don't really want it, and you can say, actually,
- 12:46Speaker 5: thank God, this website convinced me I don't actually want
- 12:49Speaker 5: to live this life exactly.
- 12:52Speaker 4: Analytics on how many people are pushed no.
- 12:54Speaker 8: Yes I do. I'm in touch with my SEO department.
- 12:58Speaker 8: I haven't. I have a department, I have human resources.
- 13:03Speaker 8: I've got interns?
- 13:04Speaker 4: How many? How many? How many people have pushed no? Like,
- 13:07Speaker 4: do you have on record?
- 13:09Speaker 8: Even just in this last week, thirty seven people have
- 13:12Speaker 8: pushed no. Thirty seven people, thirty seven people who are
- 13:15Speaker 8: going to move back to Des Moines.
- 13:17Speaker 3: There you go.
- 13:18Speaker 6: You made two hundred and fifty dollars off of thirty
- 13:21Speaker 6: seven people. Yeah, and you didn't have to do anything else.
- 13:24Speaker 8: For them, nothing, nothing, but I did to sign a
- 13:26Speaker 8: beautiful website. Beautiful website. So then you have the option
- 13:29Speaker 8: to select yes, at which point you're pay an additional
- 13:32Speaker 8: five hundred dollars to see what's on the next page.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Oh my god. Now are these interns you have? Are
- 13:37Speaker 3: they in tech or are they acting interns?
- 13:40Speaker 8: It seems like they're in tech. They're in finance, they're
- 13:42Speaker 8: in fast.
- 13:45Speaker 2: There.
- 13:45Speaker 8: I mean they run the gamut, they run the game.
- 13:49Speaker 8: They're in the medical field. Some of them are teachers
- 13:52Speaker 8: of social studies, mathematics.
- 13:55Speaker 6: Missaw you autam. I I do have to bring something up.
- 13:57Speaker 6: I have a lot of students who have come to
- 13:59Speaker 6: me after they've gone to your classes, are even looked
- 14:02Speaker 6: into your programs. Sure, and they come to me and
- 14:05Speaker 6: they tell me I really liked your website, because I
- 14:10Speaker 6: tried to go to Missaggi Bottoms and her website gave
- 14:14Speaker 6: me a virus, a really, really nasty virus.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Well, did they want it hard enough?
- 14:21Speaker 8: They wanted Maybe they didn't want it hard enough.
- 14:24Speaker 4: Well, did you know that your website is giving people
- 14:25Speaker 4: a virus?
- 14:26Speaker 8: Well not because I did not know my website was
- 14:28Speaker 8: giving people a virus. Because for a few days, your
- 14:30Speaker 8: asymptomatical on the website and you don't know.
- 14:33Speaker 4: So the virus hits later actually.
- 14:38Speaker 5: On the computer, it just shows out a couple of days,
- 14:40Speaker 5: three emails exactly, And so that's why, Yeah, you don't
- 14:44Speaker 5: actually know.
- 14:46Speaker 8: That's yeah, yeah, because of a few days.
- 14:51Speaker 4: So how how long is is the virus asymptomatic in
- 14:53Speaker 4: the computer?
- 14:55Speaker 8: Three days? Anywhere from two to three days. Varies from
- 14:57Speaker 8: computer to computer, you know, HP So one thing, Dale's
- 15:00Speaker 8: of another MacBooks.
- 15:03Speaker 1: Are they contagious to other computers during that time?
- 15:06Speaker 8: My staff is still trying to get the analytics on that.
- 15:08Speaker 8: It can't be too sure. We think people have other
- 15:11Speaker 8: computers are most contagious on the third day. We do
- 15:19Speaker 8: think they're most contagious on the third day, but we
- 15:21Speaker 8: don't have enough data at this point.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, let's hope that your interns in fast food
- 15:27Speaker 2: can figure that out for you.
- 15:30Speaker 8: These guys are brilliant, brilliant, all of them. By the way,
- 15:35Speaker 8: at one point I should mention wanted to be actors,
- 15:39Speaker 8: you know, they wanted to be actors.
- 15:40Speaker 5: Wow.
- 15:40Speaker 8: And they realized it's not for me. They went on
- 15:43Speaker 8: the website, they paid the two hundred fifty dollars and
- 15:45Speaker 8: they said, no, you know what, I don't really want this.
- 15:47Speaker 8: They click that, and then they said and then they
- 15:48Speaker 8: and then they weigh but to reflect, what do I
- 15:50Speaker 8: want to do? What do I love? Wow?
- 15:51Speaker 9: You know Soggy Bottom, I miss Soggy Bottom. I have
- 15:53Speaker 9: to say, doing the work, you were doing the lord's work.
- 15:56Speaker 9: By turning away anybody that doesn't really want it, if
- 15:59Speaker 9: we could get a couple less actors in the world, right,
- 16:03Speaker 9: it's true.
- 16:03Speaker 1: That's so true.
- 16:04Speaker 5: That's true because they have to my website. I don't
- 16:07Speaker 5: I understand. I don't understand how computers were.
- 16:09Speaker 1: My website is just Denise no Noble and an address
- 16:13Speaker 1: and you figure out the rest. Sure, and if you
- 16:15Speaker 1: really want it, you would infer that that is a
- 16:18Speaker 1: commercial acting class that you sent your kid to yes,
- 16:21Speaker 1: But if you don't want it, you shouldn't be here.
- 16:24Speaker 1: You shouldn't be on my website, you shouldn't be typing anything.
- 16:27Speaker 6: I'm sorry, I am sorry. I vehemently disagree. I believe
- 16:30Speaker 6: that anyone can act. I believe that a lot of
- 16:33Speaker 6: us do act. I believe we're acting.
- 16:35Speaker 3: Do you think anyone should act?
- 16:37Speaker 6: I think anyone should act if they want to act.
- 16:39Speaker 6: I think acting should be open to everyone. I think
- 16:41Speaker 6: acting should be basically like a community event. I think
- 16:46Speaker 6: everybody should be allowed to act. And I think it's
- 16:49Speaker 6: insulting to turn anyone away my website. I actually automatically
- 16:54Speaker 6: uploaded my website onto every single computer. It's in your
- 16:59Speaker 6: book park already.
- 17:00Speaker 8: Is that like?
- 17:01Speaker 1: Is that like another virus?
- 17:03Speaker 2: So you're the virus?
- 17:06Speaker 4: Virus? It's not a virus.
- 17:08Speaker 1: It's not like when we all.
- 17:09Speaker 9: Had iTunes and we all got that one song from
- 17:11Speaker 9: you you too, Songs of Innocence.
- 17:13Speaker 6: Yeah, absolutely, And that's when mine was sent as well.
- 17:16Speaker 6: It was lumped in. It was a PDF, and it
- 17:18Speaker 6: got lumped in with you too. I know Bono, Me
- 17:20Speaker 6: and Bono dated a lot. You dated a lot at
- 17:24Speaker 6: a bunch of different times.
- 17:25Speaker 5: And okay, so were you breaking up and then getting
- 17:28Speaker 5: back together?
- 17:28Speaker 1: Was it a lot of dates in a row successively?
- 17:31Speaker 6: You're gonna have to ask Bono. I firmly believe that
- 17:33Speaker 6: he didn't know I was the same person he kept dating.
- 17:37Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 17:37Speaker 6: I knew it was Bono and I can't talk about it,
- 17:41Speaker 6: but I lumped it in one time when we were
- 17:44Speaker 6: dating up.
- 17:45Speaker 8: You brought it up. You can't talk about you kind
- 17:46Speaker 8: of a talking about it.
- 17:48Speaker 6: Well, I no more questions on this. I can't talk
- 17:51Speaker 6: about it. Let's just say Bono and I were really
- 17:54Speaker 6: passionate on and off, not to his knowledge, over twelve years.
- 17:59Speaker 4: I can't bring anything up anymore.
- 18:02Speaker 2: I'm gonna tell you.
- 18:02Speaker 8: I've got to tell you right now, just off the
- 18:04Speaker 8: bat here. You know, this is where we're chatting with teachers,
- 18:07Speaker 8: we're connecting, but this is also a deposition, So careful.
- 18:13Speaker 5: I did get that secondary email that this is being
- 18:16Speaker 5: recorded to the Library of Congress.
- 18:18Speaker 3: I forgot that they told me about this on the
- 18:20Speaker 3: way in.
- 18:20Speaker 6: No, no, hold on a minute, Yes, I forgot, because
- 18:23Speaker 6: I I forgot that tricky. You are under indictment right.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Now, Yes, I am very much under indictment. Huge legal
- 18:30Speaker 2: problems I'm having. I've been avoiding taxes or not deposition
- 18:35Speaker 2: for about five years now.
- 18:36Speaker 6: I remember signing something because they some FBI agent stopped
- 18:40Speaker 6: me and they said, hey, we it would be much
- 18:42Speaker 6: easier if we just use this.
- 18:43Speaker 4: As an as a as a deposition.
- 18:46Speaker 1: It'll be cheap, it'll setting up the cameras again.
- 18:51Speaker 4: They were just pounding em and ms in the lobby
- 18:54Speaker 4: of this.
- 18:54Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 18:54Speaker 2: Yeah, they're after me. They're after me. I mean, that's
- 18:57Speaker 2: a good question for the group. Has the government, federal
- 18:59Speaker 2: government ever been after for you, Because they are after
- 19:02Speaker 2: me and have for me for a while, I'm I have.
- 19:05Speaker 3: I have my students veno me and they put health
- 19:08Speaker 3: care in the.
- 19:09Speaker 2: Yeah, don't say that. That's what led my downfall. All
- 19:12Speaker 2: my students were venmoing me old shoes, old shoes, two
- 19:19Speaker 2: months old. Choose. Yeah.
- 19:21Speaker 8: You know, I've never met any of my students. You see,
- 19:24Speaker 8: because my students are all just online. We don't actually
- 19:28Speaker 8: have a class. It's the website. It's where they It's
- 19:30Speaker 8: where they get a moment to say, you know, step one,
- 19:33Speaker 8: do I really want this?
- 19:35Speaker 11: Do I?
- 19:36Speaker 8: After the second page on the website is Okay, you
- 19:39Speaker 8: said yes, But.
- 19:44Speaker 5: So is your entire class taking place on the website
- 19:46Speaker 5: or does anyone actually get to site your class?
- 19:49Speaker 2: Is your entire class just people paying? After?
- 19:52Speaker 4: Guess?
- 19:52Speaker 2: They say, do you want this?
- 19:55Speaker 4: And what's the color on the second page?
- 19:57Speaker 8: Oh, the second page is a gorgeous choral col.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Peach coral coral.
- 20:04Speaker 8: Yes, orange peach coral.
- 20:06Speaker 2: That is catching of the eyes. That would catch my
- 20:09Speaker 2: eyes for sure.
- 20:09Speaker 8: Yeah, exactly. And you know a lot of people fall
- 20:12Speaker 8: off on that page. They say, I've now paid what
- 20:15Speaker 8: is it, fifty dollars just for this. I realized I'm
- 20:20Speaker 8: a fool. I need to go back to where I
- 20:23Speaker 8: came from. I'm going to go back home. I'm giving up,
- 20:26Speaker 8: hands up, I'm going I'm going home, packing my bags.
- 20:29Speaker 8: And when you really put people's back against the wall,
- 20:33Speaker 8: when you just put their backs against the wall, you
- 20:35Speaker 8: find out what really drives them. Are you doing it
- 20:38Speaker 8: for the attention? Are you doing it for the fame?
- 20:41Speaker 8: Are you doing it because you love commercials? Do you
- 20:44Speaker 8: really love commercials? Have you been impacted by a commercial? Yes?
- 20:49Speaker 2: Well, back against the wall, yeah, back against Try putting
- 20:52Speaker 2: them in small shoes, shoes that don't fit them correctly.
- 20:56Speaker 2: They act their heart out, and that is part of
- 20:59Speaker 2: the tricky pot method. It's all about getting people in
- 21:04Speaker 2: the right size shoes to play a part.
- 21:06Speaker 5: You know.
- 21:07Speaker 8: I have to say I had a kN acting coach
- 21:08Speaker 8: when I was growing up in Mozambique who told me,
- 21:11Speaker 8: throw away the script. Put the script, take the script.
- 21:14Speaker 8: You see the script here, go to the restroom, soil
- 21:17Speaker 8: it with your own fecal matter, then put it in
- 21:20Speaker 8: the trash. Okay, a legend, all right? And he said
- 21:25Speaker 8: your shoes, So you're onto something tricky. He said, your shoes.
- 21:28Speaker 8: The acting is in your shoes. Your shoes, say so much.
- 21:31Speaker 8: This is so great to hear that people in Mozambique
- 21:34Speaker 8: also are using my method.
- 21:36Speaker 2: Why the acting is in the dick?
- 21:39Speaker 8: Oh sure, sure? But because yeah, because, but you think
- 21:43Speaker 8: women should act too, well, wouldn't have a little dick.
- 21:45Speaker 8: If women have a little dick, it's called a clip,
- 21:47Speaker 8: a little dick.
- 21:48Speaker 4: Yes, yes, yes, I don't want to talk about my clip.
- 21:52Speaker 2: Very I've got a quick question. Does anybody ever come
- 21:54Speaker 2: into your I'm sorry, let's go back.
- 21:59Speaker 4: I don't want to talk about it.
- 22:00Speaker 8: Okay, what yeah, what's going on with your Dick, what's
- 22:02Speaker 8: going on with your clip?
- 22:03Speaker 4: My clit? I have a clip. I'm a woman. My
- 22:08Speaker 4: apologies I don't want to talk about it.
- 22:14Speaker 3: Is because this is a deposition. Why you don't want
- 22:16Speaker 3: to talk about your clit.
- 22:18Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't want the government to know about my clit.
- 22:20Speaker 6: My clit is my business. That's exactly what I don't
- 22:22Speaker 6: want to talk about.
- 22:23Speaker 1: It's too big. It's too big.
- 22:28Speaker 4: Now I'm curious about that.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Well, I don't know what more to say. It's just
- 22:32Speaker 1: too big. I wish it was smaller.
- 22:35Speaker 2: That's no bull that, you know.
- 22:39Speaker 5: And I would say the same thing to a lile
- 22:41Speaker 5: eight year old who is trying to walk and make
- 22:44Speaker 5: it into commercial acting.
- 22:45Speaker 1: You know, I'm not going to give them any bull.
- 22:47Speaker 5: If they want to be an actor, they're going to
- 22:49Speaker 5: be exposed to words they don't know, to things they
- 22:52Speaker 5: don't understand.
- 22:54Speaker 1: I'm gonna give it to them straight, No bull, no bull.
- 22:57Speaker 8: Now, can I ask who is your fa most famous student? Oh?
- 23:03Speaker 8: Oh oh, oh oh oh, by your time, By your time?
- 23:09Speaker 8: What was his name?
- 23:13Speaker 5: He was?
- 23:13Speaker 1: From that movie? It was I don't know if a
- 23:15Speaker 1: lot of Macaulay Culkin was his Namelie Wow? I don't
- 23:20Speaker 1: know if you've heard of him. He was in some
- 23:21Speaker 1: sort of movie.
- 23:23Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 23:23Speaker 5: After he stopped doing commercials, I stopped paying attention. And
- 23:27Speaker 5: I don't own a TV. I don't on a computer.
- 23:29Speaker 5: But that's what I hear. I hear he got very big.
- 23:32Speaker 8: Yeah, well where are you listening to news?
- 23:34Speaker 2: You know?
- 23:36Speaker 4: I have a CBE radio in the truck, and I
- 23:39Speaker 4: have kind of truck, like a big.
- 23:44Speaker 8: I have a big rig.
- 23:45Speaker 5: I have a big rig so that I can take
- 23:46Speaker 5: my studio, my my on camera set up from Marina
- 23:49Speaker 5: del Rey to my studio in North.
- 23:50Speaker 1: Hollywood and back to Marina del Ray and it's gonna carry.
- 23:57Speaker 4: Stuff.
- 23:58Speaker 3: I can say that only I rarely talked to women.
- 24:01Speaker 3: I'm sorry, Verry.
- 24:03Speaker 8: I gotta know.
- 24:04Speaker 1: I gotta know. What what do any women try and
- 24:07Speaker 1: take your class?
- 24:07Speaker 2: What do you do?
- 24:08Speaker 5: No?
- 24:09Speaker 9: I started out a uh a. I was a pastor
- 24:14Speaker 9: at my church, and I was the leader of the
- 24:17Speaker 9: men's group. And I quickly transitioned out of that into
- 24:23Speaker 9: acting coaching.
- 24:24Speaker 3: And I didn't know very quickly. Oh, it was like
- 24:30Speaker 3: an afternoon now that something happened at the church.
- 24:34Speaker 4: Afternoon, Yeah, the morning.
- 24:37Speaker 5: Pastor in the afternoon you were an acting coach, Yes,
- 24:40Speaker 5: you did you learn any acting in the meantime.
- 24:43Speaker 4: And you would include that as part of your strong
- 24:45Speaker 4: part of your narrative.
- 24:46Speaker 9: Yes, and anybody could change within a small afternoon. And
- 24:50Speaker 9: the afternoon is not as long as the morning or night.
- 24:53Speaker 9: It's the shortest of the three.
- 25:00Speaker 1: His longest morning is second longest, afternoon is the shortest.
- 25:04Speaker 4: We all know that.
- 25:06Speaker 1: I learned that in Russia.
- 25:08Speaker 8: I'm dying to know.
- 25:09Speaker 3: I'm dying to know what Sanslovsky has to say on commercials.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Stanislavsky says, well, yes, this is exactly what I want
- 25:16Speaker 2: to get into. I want to get into the method.
- 25:18Speaker 2: I want to get how we are approaching sides commercials.
- 25:21Speaker 2: So let's hear about commercial approach.
- 25:25Speaker 5: Yes, yes, yes, yes, Well, Stanislavsky is very it's naturalism, right,
- 25:30Speaker 5: it's it's you you read your okay, okay, it's what
- 25:34Speaker 5: what commercial is this?
- 25:35Speaker 1: It's it's cheerios. You read it straight, You read it straight,
- 25:39Speaker 1: like you're.
- 25:39Speaker 5: Talking to somebody in the kitchen, like nothing is happening,
- 25:42Speaker 5: and then you really ham it up. Stanislavsky doesn't include
- 25:48Speaker 5: this in a lot of its teachings. A lot of
- 25:49Speaker 5: Stanislavsky teachers neglect to enforce the ham it up portion.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Of stan I've never heard of this part of Sanslosky.
- 25:57Speaker 5: Right, so it's an entire naturalist folk focus. And then
- 26:00Speaker 5: I just pivot to ham it up.
- 26:03Speaker 8: Wow. Okay, Wow, that's what I do with my kids.
- 26:07Speaker 8: My technique. If I can, I just don't know if
- 26:10Speaker 8: I can. Can, I I can't.
- 26:14Speaker 4: If you can, you absolutely can't.
- 26:16Speaker 8: Okay, Well that I will. You're begging me, I will, sure, sure, sure,
- 26:20Speaker 8: So after the first page, the second page on my website,
- 26:24Speaker 8: third page, third page, the third page, you do paid
- 26:28Speaker 8: additional five fifty to access.
- 26:31Speaker 5: All right, so we're in twelve fifty at this point,
- 26:34Speaker 5: I think thirteen hundred thirteen hundreds.
- 26:36Speaker 8: Okay, sure, sure, sure, sure sure, And that page is
- 26:41Speaker 8: just blank, and you have to click around to try
- 26:43Speaker 8: to figure out figure out what what where, what's going on?
- 26:50Speaker 4: What's going on?
- 26:51Speaker 8: And you'll clip people click, but you see how hungry
- 26:54Speaker 8: people are. You can see how many times one individual clicks,
- 26:57Speaker 8: and the individual who clicks the mostly goes on to
- 27:01Speaker 8: be an award winning commercial actor. Okay, And.
- 27:06Speaker 5: Just clicking around a blank sections of the website, you
- 27:09Speaker 5: have analytics.
- 27:10Speaker 8: You have analytics on Yeah, my staff has gotten me analytics.
- 27:15Speaker 8: One of the biggest commercial actors. You all are familiar
- 27:17Speaker 8: with Flow from Progressive.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah love Flow.
- 27:20Speaker 8: We love Flow.
- 27:22Speaker 2: I once fitted flow for a shoe.
- 27:24Speaker 8: Oh she took did she take? She took your course?
- 27:27Speaker 2: No, she was just for the shoes for the ship.
- 27:30Speaker 8: Okay, okay, of course, and she was mine. She clicked
- 27:36Speaker 8: over thirty seven hundred times over the course of seventy
- 27:40Speaker 8: seven hours. That's how hungry she was.
- 27:42Speaker 3: That's how hard work.
- 27:44Speaker 5: That's right, because the legal definition of insanity is doing
- 27:47Speaker 5: something more than once and expecting a different result.
- 27:50Speaker 1: But she did that thirty seven hundred times, and you
- 27:52Speaker 1: know what it worked?
- 27:54Speaker 8: Its thirteen hundred dollars. Well, she found the button on
- 27:58Speaker 8: the page. The next page read, Am I married to copy?
- 28:01Speaker 8: That's something every student has to answer. Are you married
- 28:04Speaker 8: to copy? Are you in an open relationship with copy?
- 28:07Speaker 2: How many students have gotten through it?
- 28:12Speaker 6: Is the button always there or does it get activated
- 28:16Speaker 6: after a certain amount of cliques?
- 28:18Speaker 8: The button is there after a certain number of cliques.
- 28:21Speaker 8: After a student has clicked two thousand times, the button appears.
- 28:26Speaker 8: But still you can't see it. It just appears. Then
- 28:29Speaker 8: they have to try to find it, converting.
- 28:33Speaker 1: To judy is a thing where you have to ask
- 28:35Speaker 1: three times, be told.
- 28:36Speaker 8: No, yes, exactly, yes, yes, And then the next pation,
- 28:40Speaker 8: am I married to copy? What's my relationship with copy?
- 28:44Speaker 8: Am I even attracted to copy? Am I hooking up
- 28:46Speaker 8: with copy because copy is the only one showing me attention?
- 28:51Speaker 8: Maybe I don't want to be married to copy. Maybe
- 28:53Speaker 8: marriage is a construct.
- 28:55Speaker 2: So do you like the students to say no at
- 28:57Speaker 2: that point, because so far they've said yes? Is this
- 28:59Speaker 2: a kind of like a trick thing where you want
- 29:00Speaker 2: them to say no?
- 29:02Speaker 8: Or well, this is actually a written answer. This is
- 29:04Speaker 8: actually a written answer.
- 29:07Speaker 1: It becomes like a sort of SAT test.
- 29:10Speaker 4: They get write it out here.
- 29:12Speaker 8: They can actually write out what is your relationship to copy?
- 29:15Speaker 8: And some of the most brilliant students the answers are trash.
- 29:20Speaker 8: They've done so well in the course up until this point,
- 29:22Speaker 8: and then they don't know how to answer, im, I'm
- 29:24Speaker 8: married to copy. You should see people stumble? You should
- 29:27Speaker 8: you should see people. I'd like to invite all of
- 29:29Speaker 8: you to my student studio to watch on a telecast
- 29:32Speaker 8: students stumble across the website.
- 29:35Speaker 1: So your studio, you have a brick and boarder studio
- 29:38Speaker 1: to watch, I just watch.
- 29:41Speaker 4: I would love that. I would love that, Yes, I
- 29:43Speaker 4: would love that. I mean my method.
- 29:45Speaker 8: You know.
- 29:45Speaker 6: First of all, I will say I have had it
- 29:47Speaker 6: on again, off again relationship with Copy myself.
- 29:50Speaker 4: Yes, okay, over the course of several the longest.
- 29:52Speaker 8: What's the longest you've been together.
- 29:54Speaker 6: I was married to copy for six months. I was
- 29:58Speaker 6: married to copy for six months. I was actually a
- 30:02Speaker 6: copywriter at an insurance company. This is when I was
- 30:05Speaker 6: twenty one years old. Wow, And I would consider that
- 30:08Speaker 6: married to copy. I was making copy of day. Copy
- 30:10Speaker 6: was my partner, now Bano, now Copy and I it
- 30:16Speaker 6: is it is, you know, we're Pollie, me and Copy
- 30:19Speaker 6: or Polly. We bring people on because for me, for me,
- 30:23Speaker 6: acting is just being yourself and that's why anyone can
- 30:26Speaker 6: do it. So I like to bring people in and
- 30:29Speaker 6: I like to break them down. I like to say,
- 30:30Speaker 6: that's not you, that's not you, that's not you, that's
- 30:33Speaker 6: not you.
- 30:33Speaker 4: Who are you? Who are you?
- 30:34Speaker 8: Who are you?
- 30:35Speaker 4: Who are you? And you know, say throw the script away,
- 30:37Speaker 4: throw the script away, throw the script away, you.
- 30:40Speaker 8: Know, And I and I now, did you train in Mozambique?
- 30:42Speaker 8: Did you train in Mozambique?
- 30:43Speaker 5: No?
- 30:44Speaker 8: No, no, no, no no no.
- 30:45Speaker 4: I trained in Marina del Rey.
- 30:48Speaker 2: Wow.
- 30:48Speaker 6: Yeah, just like generally, uh yeah, on the actually venice,
- 30:54Speaker 6: I guess the free gyms or the muscle gyms.
- 30:56Speaker 4: Oh yeah, yeah yeah the are you talking about.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Favorite acting train physically?
- 31:01Speaker 6: Yes, because I don't believe that you need to have
- 31:04Speaker 6: any sort of training to be an actor.
- 31:07Speaker 4: You have to be yourself.
- 31:08Speaker 3: So you make money, how do you pay the rent?
- 31:10Speaker 8: Technically?
- 31:12Speaker 6: Technically I am a nonprofit. I'm a charity and I
- 31:17Speaker 6: don't receive any money. But you can't enter my studio
- 31:21Speaker 6: unless you bought my book, The Daisy Method, And so
- 31:23Speaker 6: technically I am a book salesman.
- 31:26Speaker 4: And that book has a lot of games in it.
- 31:28Speaker 4: It is good for all audiences. Anything you need anywhere.
- 31:32Speaker 8: The game from your Let's play it.
- 31:33Speaker 4: I would love a lot.
- 31:36Speaker 2: Yeah, we can buy a gaming exercise.
- 31:37Speaker 6: It's it's kind of more of a you know, word
- 31:39Speaker 6: searches and crossword puzzles.
- 31:43Speaker 4: Action.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Let's all work together. Let's all work together. I won't
- 31:46Speaker 1: cook at it. Let's just do a word.
- 31:48Speaker 6: Here's well, I did make my own uh, a version
- 31:52Speaker 6: of wordle. I call it dirtle because my name is
- 31:55Speaker 6: Delilah Daisy. So if you guys want to play your
- 31:57Speaker 6: name is it's just the same. It's just the same
- 32:01Speaker 6: as wordle, but it's it's acting phrases. So it's five letters.
- 32:04Speaker 10: Go for it.
- 32:05Speaker 4: Somebody say a word.
- 32:08Speaker 11: Slate, slate, mind, melt slate, okay, gray, gray, green, yellow, gray, and.
- 32:23Speaker 2: They they they text you to let them know.
- 32:27Speaker 4: How do they do this?
- 32:28Speaker 3: How do they communicate?
- 32:30Speaker 8: Uh?
- 32:31Speaker 6: The answers are in the back of the book. I
- 32:32Speaker 6: don't see what they do. But you wanted to play
- 32:34Speaker 6: a game. I'm playing a game gray gray, green, So.
- 32:39Speaker 2: We've got the A locked in. There's a T somewhere
- 32:43Speaker 2: else in the word maybe.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Okay, is it acting?
- 32:49Speaker 4: That is six letters?
- 32:51Speaker 2: Okay?
- 32:52Speaker 8: What about acting? Acting?
- 32:57Speaker 4: Official? Is acting your official? Guests? Yeah? Green green green
- 33:02Speaker 4: green green?
- 33:04Speaker 8: Wow?
- 33:05Speaker 6: Wow?
- 33:06Speaker 2: Crazy that that A moved to the beginning but still
- 33:09Speaker 2: was green. Wow. That's I love that method, I really
- 33:14Speaker 2: love and maybe I can include that in my method,
- 33:16Speaker 2: and I find message. I find method one of the
- 33:19Speaker 2: most important things. And to have your own method is
- 33:21Speaker 2: so important. We have a thing method? Yeah, go ahead, Yeah,
- 33:25Speaker 2: what is yours.
- 33:26Speaker 8: Mine is no, I shouldn't speak on it method man,
- 33:29Speaker 8: but I slept with him.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Oh wow, how did that happen?
- 33:36Speaker 8: Well, I was at a concert a Wu Tang Wu
- 33:40Speaker 8: Tang Klang.
- 33:45Speaker 2: That's a disversion of the.
- 33:48Speaker 1: Love those I got a.
- 33:51Speaker 8: Like the kids.
- 33:52Speaker 1: He's incredible talent.
- 33:54Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, it was like the kid version. And he
- 33:57Speaker 8: came because he was actually a vocal coach for Wu
- 33:59Speaker 8: Tang clan and because he he loved that they were
- 34:02Speaker 8: paying homage to the original Wu Tang.
- 34:05Speaker 4: And so I love when I love when they say
- 34:08Speaker 4: Wu Tang Clang ain't nothing to fiddle with. I love it.
- 34:13Speaker 8: And then they noses my apologies, my apologies, tricky, you're
- 34:18Speaker 8: gonna speak on a method I'm sorry, and I misunderstood,
- 34:20Speaker 8: and I shad something no.
- 34:22Speaker 2: And I will say I'm sorry. I've never hooked up
- 34:23Speaker 2: with method man. But my acting approach is we have
- 34:27Speaker 2: a great saying in the studio, shoe store, find the
- 34:30Speaker 2: size that fits. So basically what I'll.
- 34:33Speaker 1: Do is ask I'm sorry, yeah, go ahead. Much of
- 34:37Speaker 1: a percentage of the shoe store. Does the shoe store
- 34:40Speaker 1: know you're doing acting classes?
- 34:42Speaker 3: Yeah, this is a partnership.
- 34:44Speaker 2: They kind of know, sorry, are you.
- 34:46Speaker 5: Doing a gorilla style where a student kind of comes
- 34:48Speaker 5: in and you whisper them sort of acting lessons as.
- 34:51Speaker 2: That is for private coaching. So for private coaching, which
- 34:54Speaker 2: happens during the day, I will let them try on
- 34:56Speaker 2: a shoe, will go into the fitting room, and we'll
- 34:59Speaker 2: work on their audit during the night. Mister Gregory gives
- 35:03Speaker 2: me the keys, tells me to lock up. I take
- 35:04Speaker 2: the midnight shift, lock up around six pm. Classes start
- 35:08Speaker 2: at six point thirty. He has no idea and is
- 35:10Speaker 2: Gregory his first name or his last name? His name
- 35:13Speaker 2: is mister Gregory, so it's both his first name. His
- 35:16Speaker 2: name is Gregory Gregory. Oh okay, now, mister would be insane.
- 35:21Speaker 2: His name is Gregory Gregor. He is he only sells
- 35:26Speaker 2: old shoes and gosh, the guy complains. The guy complains,
- 35:30Speaker 2: business is good. We can't sell a damn thing in here.
- 35:34Speaker 2: Who are all these people?
- 35:36Speaker 8: I can't stand a complain that does he want to
- 35:38Speaker 8: sell shoes.
- 35:39Speaker 2: Or not exactly?
- 35:40Speaker 1: And get out he want he's gotta go.
- 35:45Speaker 2: And I've talked to him because a lot of my
- 35:47Speaker 2: approach is based in how you approach the work. You know,
- 35:50Speaker 2: it's not necessarily how the outcome of but how you
- 35:53Speaker 2: feel going into it, So how you show up, how
- 35:56Speaker 2: you could be the worst actor doing the worst, literally
- 35:59Speaker 2: the worst anybody's ever seen. But if you feel good
- 36:01Speaker 2: about it? Who am I to say anything? You know,
- 36:04Speaker 2: if you feel good about it and you're paying me
- 36:06Speaker 2: a little bit of money, I'm happy.
- 36:08Speaker 4: That's a fun question. Who's the worst actor everyone here
- 36:10Speaker 4: has ever seen?
- 36:11Speaker 8: Oh? Easy, he's Lane Meryl Street.
- 36:14Speaker 3: I'd have to say Dwayne the Rock Johnson.
- 36:17Speaker 8: Yeah, Carrol Street.
- 36:19Speaker 2: That's so funny, Barry, because I feel like you would
- 36:21Speaker 2: love him of all people, you know.
- 36:23Speaker 3: I mean, I coach him and he he came to
- 36:25Speaker 3: my studio bad, bad, but he but he picked up.
- 36:31Speaker 9: And speaking of methods, I wanted to say, he picked
- 36:33Speaker 9: up on my method, which are these core values?
- 36:36Speaker 3: Which is perseverance strength?
- 36:40Speaker 8: Sure?
- 36:40Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, just those two great.
- 36:43Speaker 3: Perseverance, strength, faith, and.
- 36:49Speaker 1: I'm missing some.
- 36:50Speaker 8: Of them all.
- 36:53Speaker 2: I've got a question for you, Barry. How many people
- 36:55Speaker 2: come into your acting studio expecting a workout class?
- 36:59Speaker 9: It It's very clear at at the location we're at
- 37:04Speaker 9: that it's an acting school. It's just the online inquiries
- 37:08Speaker 9: and the phone calls that are NonStop for Barry's boot camp.
- 37:13Speaker 2: What's your method? I would love to get in because
- 37:15Speaker 2: you worked with Dwayne the Rock Johnson. That's insane.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:17Speaker 9: No, I work with some pretty big guys and I'm
- 37:21Speaker 9: just I create a space where men who don't feel
- 37:25Speaker 9: like they can be vulnerable can be that in a
- 37:28Speaker 9: strong and powerful way. We work scenes in a wrestling ring.
- 37:35Speaker 9: So that also may be why some people think.
- 37:38Speaker 3: That it is a gym. We have barbells.
- 37:42Speaker 5: Yeah, what's the percentage of people who show up for
- 37:45Speaker 5: their first time with towels and workout gear?
- 37:48Speaker 4: Denise? I love how much you love percentages?
- 37:51Speaker 3: Yeah you.
- 37:54Speaker 1: I'm a step major.
- 37:58Speaker 5: I was gonna be a biochemical and geer and I said,
- 38:00Speaker 5: no bullshit, bullshit, full of bullshit in that world.
- 38:05Speaker 1: I don't want to deal with any of that.
- 38:06Speaker 8: I just want to be no bull for you.
- 38:09Speaker 1: And I'm noble. I'm noble. So it was not a match.
- 38:12Speaker 1: It was not a match.
- 38:12Speaker 5: Nothing personal against STEM as an industry, but it was
- 38:16Speaker 5: bull and so could It wasn't a match.
- 38:17Speaker 3: But okay, I want to I want to hear other
- 38:19Speaker 3: people's bad students and what you.
- 38:21Speaker 8: Did do Meryl Streep MARYL. Streep. She's not a commercial actress.
- 38:24Speaker 8: She just can't do it. She doesn't have it. She
- 38:26Speaker 8: might be able to win an award here and there,
- 38:28Speaker 8: but she's never woned a commercial award, never has. And
- 38:31Speaker 8: she came to my class. She came to my class.
- 38:33Speaker 8: She wrote me nasty email after she said, I have
- 38:38Speaker 8: never seen exploitation of this, this degree in Los Angeles. Nasty,
- 38:44Speaker 8: nasty email.
- 38:45Speaker 9: But you know what, those commercial awards, those commercial awards
- 38:49Speaker 9: are hard to get.
- 38:50Speaker 1: The Mershy's. I had a kid go to the Mershy's once.
- 38:56Speaker 1: She was Lily for a Modern Family the child. Wow,
- 39:02Speaker 1: she's doing really well.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Was she the young girl or the baby version of Lily?
- 39:07Speaker 5: Oh, she was the baby. The baby had the talent,
- 39:10Speaker 5: The toddler not so much, but the baby version of Lily.
- 39:14Speaker 2: Of course.
- 39:14Speaker 5: She went on to do a Skittles commercial and she
- 39:18Speaker 5: won a Mershy and she was only four years old.
- 39:20Speaker 6: Didn't even know what was amazing awards themselves. I think
- 39:24Speaker 6: the awards are too big, if I'm being honest. The
- 39:26Speaker 6: mercys are massive.
- 39:29Speaker 11: Them.
- 39:30Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:31Speaker 8: The actual statue, it's incredible.
- 39:32Speaker 4: The statue has gotta be looks three hundred, four hundred pounds.
- 39:37Speaker 8: You've got to you have to book a U haul
- 39:39Speaker 8: if you win.
- 39:41Speaker 1: She Did's so sad.
- 39:42Speaker 5: There are so many U hauls parked outside the Dolby
- 39:44Speaker 5: Theater by people who think they're gonna win.
- 39:47Speaker 6: Mortifying. I was working with the berries and Cream guy
- 39:50Speaker 6: during that era. No, I remember so embarrassed. It was
- 39:54Speaker 6: so embarrassing. He had two U hauls because he was
- 39:57Speaker 6: up for two commercials. He had them ready and he
- 40:00Speaker 6: had to send him home early because guess who got it,
- 40:02Speaker 6: Jamie Lee Curtis.
- 40:03Speaker 8: Again.
- 40:07Speaker 4: She shows up for.
- 40:08Speaker 1: One activity a year and she sweeps every time.
- 40:11Speaker 8: The girl every time.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Well, one of my fans, one of my most.
- 40:19Speaker 8: No, no, no, please continue.
- 40:21Speaker 2: I was just gonna say, one of my most famous students,
- 40:27Speaker 2: please go ahead? No please, no please, you go ahead,
- 40:30Speaker 2: go ahead, you go ahead?
- 40:31Speaker 8: No please, I apologize, please.
- 40:34Speaker 4: Okay, go ahead.
- 40:35Speaker 2: So what I was going to say, one of my
- 40:37Speaker 2: most famous really go ahead? Yeah, go ahead?
- 40:42Speaker 8: No please no esther.
- 40:44Speaker 2: I am such a big fan of you. I actually
- 40:47Speaker 2: clicked through to the first three pages, did not make
- 40:49Speaker 2: it past the fourth, but I almost signed up.
- 40:52Speaker 8: So tricky. I've spoken so much. I've said plenty on
- 40:56Speaker 8: this discussion I would really love.
- 40:58Speaker 2: To hear what you and yet I have yet to
- 41:00Speaker 2: hear what your method is. I'm so interested. If there's it's.
- 41:09Speaker 8: Well, no, I did a merrow streep. That bitch said, ex.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I've heard that.
- 41:16Speaker 8: I'm sorry, No, Tricky, I don't. It doesn't need to
- 41:18Speaker 8: be about me. Tricky, you were going to say something.
- 41:20Speaker 2: I know what I want to hear about your method.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Really I want to dial into I really want to hear.
- 41:25Speaker 3: From you, Tricky. Come on, you power.
- 41:30Speaker 8: I'm sipping my lips up.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Okay, Well, what I was going to say is one
- 41:35Speaker 2: of my most famous students.
- 41:37Speaker 8: I just don't know if yo has agenda.
- 41:41Speaker 1: Miss soggy bottom, you look like you're about to explode.
- 41:45Speaker 2: You're really cut up. On if yogurt has a gender.
- 41:49Speaker 3: Well it does.
- 41:52Speaker 8: Very good.
- 41:52Speaker 1: Gender is yur.
- 41:56Speaker 3: Oh me yogurt's a woman? Okay, because she's silky smooth baby.
- 42:06Speaker 1: Thanks Barry. What I would love to know from everyone?
- 42:09Speaker 1: And no bull on this? No bull okay has anyone?
- 42:13Speaker 1: What is everyone's acting talking about it?
- 42:21Speaker 8: I just wondered why Barry said girl yogurt when you
- 42:24Speaker 8: said activitia. If if all yogurt is a girl, why
- 42:29Speaker 8: take that one distincts. But I'm sorry, Please please Denise, Dennise,
- 42:35Speaker 8: please disregard, disregard. I would love to hear what you're saying,
- 42:39Speaker 8: because you're brilliant. You're brilliant.
- 42:41Speaker 5: Please, well, no, you really poked a hole in something
- 42:44Speaker 5: Barry was saying. And I think the FBI is motioning
- 42:46Speaker 5: that they would like to hear what is going.
- 42:48Speaker 8: On with I just went why Barry would say girl
- 42:51Speaker 8: yogurt if it's all girl, and exactly why about we
- 42:57Speaker 8: can talk about I don't actually I don't know to
- 43:00Speaker 8: talk about anything. I'm actually quite intrigued listening to each
- 43:02Speaker 8: of you speak.
- 43:04Speaker 2: This is actually exactly like most acting classes, and I'm
- 43:07Speaker 2: interested in just a follow up question to Barry's answer,
- 43:10Speaker 2: how much time of your acting classes? It's just you
- 43:11Speaker 2: talking about how you feel.
- 43:15Speaker 6: I'm sorry, we have addressed what you're asking under everyone
- 43:18Speaker 6: else's questions, we have addressed it.
- 43:21Speaker 4: We have Barry has answered the questions.
- 43:25Speaker 3: I ever said yogurt was a woman. Because this is
- 43:28Speaker 3: an awful nightmare.
- 43:31Speaker 8: I hate it with very though I don't want to,
- 43:34Speaker 8: but if you're gonna make a good jumbalaya, you need
- 43:38Speaker 8: a rue.
- 43:38Speaker 2: I'll say that Okay, is that from Mozambique? Did you
- 43:44Speaker 2: learn that in Mozambique?
- 43:46Speaker 8: The best in the world Mozambique. But anyway, I'm sorry
- 43:53Speaker 8: you was saying something.
- 43:55Speaker 4: I think I think I think we have been demolished. Well, Denise,
- 43:59Speaker 4: what were you saying?
- 44:00Speaker 5: I did say, Okay, okay, this is what I wanted
- 44:02Speaker 5: to know, and it was noble right, Okay.
- 44:06Speaker 1: Has anyone been an actor before this.
- 44:08Speaker 3: And how successful was?
- 44:11Speaker 8: Yes?
- 44:13Speaker 9: Okay, maybe maybe I do believe that's some yogurts have
- 44:18Speaker 9: manly qualities.
- 44:20Speaker 8: Okay, No, don't change your opinion, Barry.
- 44:24Speaker 4: If you change your opinion, now we're gonna have more questions.
- 44:26Speaker 8: Yeah, we don't have to, hop I would really love
- 44:29Speaker 8: to move on from the yogurt.
- 44:30Speaker 3: You know, the yogurt that they make for kids with
- 44:33Speaker 3: the oreo on top.
- 44:35Speaker 4: Oh go goat No, No, the other one animals, animals, animals.
- 44:40Speaker 8: A boy.
- 44:43Speaker 4: Talking about him before we move on? Are you set
- 44:47Speaker 4: with that answer?
- 44:48Speaker 1: Do you have any I want to make sure you're okay.
- 44:50Speaker 8: I'm set, zipping up my lips and turn away the cake.
- 44:55Speaker 2: Well, I don't know if you guys mind. I just
- 45:00Speaker 2: posted a bit of copy a couple of sides in
- 45:04Speaker 2: passing it out to you guys. I was just really interesting,
- 45:06Speaker 2: because you know, my method is always evolving. I want
- 45:09Speaker 2: to see animals is Dannon animals. It's a children's braid
- 45:18Speaker 2: of yogurt that does feel male. I do agree it
- 45:22Speaker 2: does because Zach and Cody were attached to it when
- 45:25Speaker 2: we were younger, so it's inherently all.
- 45:27Speaker 5: My boys read for the Zach and Cody parts, and
- 45:29Speaker 5: then in the end they gave it to Zach and Cody.
- 45:31Speaker 8: Everyone knows it, seems to know it's a boy, but
- 45:33Speaker 8: I just don't know.
- 45:34Speaker 6: I can't wait to listen back to this to hear
- 45:36Speaker 6: what talking to a dear friend?
- 45:43Speaker 1: You're talking to a dear friend.
- 45:46Speaker 9: I can't hear over it's so gentle and.
- 45:51Speaker 5: So good listeners will be able to hear because the
- 45:54Speaker 5: audio will be clear.
- 45:55Speaker 1: But I cannot hear a thing.
- 45:56Speaker 8: It's just it's just I just I'll say this and
- 46:02Speaker 8: now and now shut up. I've made a fool of myself.
- 46:05Speaker 8: I just when now, when Barry says danimo, yo, get
- 46:09Speaker 8: is a boy? I said, is it? Because that's short
- 46:12Speaker 8: for Daniel? And then unfortunately Tricky chimed into say it's
- 46:16Speaker 8: actually unfortunately.
- 46:21Speaker 4: Okay, so you're mad interrupted all a minute. You're mad
- 46:24Speaker 4: that Tricky interrupted you. You're mad the tricky.
- 46:27Speaker 8: Okay, Well, give me a moment to place my feeling.
- 46:29Speaker 4: Just let me give it, because I can tell you
- 46:31Speaker 4: that I think we all feel interrupted.
- 46:34Speaker 8: You're lying.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Swear to God, I am not lying. I am no
- 46:39Speaker 1: ball you were. You did interrupt me, but I you
- 46:42Speaker 1: know what I feel. I feel I'm not mad.
- 46:45Speaker 8: God, it's oh my god, right now I'm embarrassed. I'm embarrassed.
- 46:51Speaker 8: I'm going to zip up. Let's just talk about the
- 46:53Speaker 8: copy that that Tricky has formal did yees? So?
- 46:59Speaker 2: I passed around this copy the sides, and I'm really
- 47:03Speaker 2: interested about how you guys would coach somebody like this.
- 47:07Speaker 2: I do have a question.
- 47:07Speaker 8: I've moved on from the yogat, but are we married
- 47:10Speaker 8: to copy in this case? Is that a personal decision.
- 47:12Speaker 2: I'm interested in seeing it for you. I mean, are
- 47:15Speaker 2: you going to coach somebody to improvise or are you gonna?
- 47:18Speaker 8: You know?
- 47:18Speaker 2: Like so the copy is I'm devastated. I'm absolutely devastated.
- 47:22Speaker 2: How could you do this to me? We've been married
- 47:24Speaker 2: for years. How would you coach somebody on those I mean,
- 47:27Speaker 2: this is like, you know, you're not given anything else,
- 47:31Speaker 2: and this could be a commercial for sure, sure, sure.
- 47:34Speaker 5: Yeah, And I would argue this is a commercial. It's
- 47:36Speaker 5: very clearly a commercial for audios. How could you do
- 47:40Speaker 5: this to me? If you rearrange the letters, it's an
- 47:44Speaker 5: anagram for double stuffed oreos.
- 47:46Speaker 6: Right, that's famously how they make commercial sides. As they
- 47:50Speaker 6: changed the letter, but it keeps like a.
- 47:52Speaker 1: Little puzzle for the viewers to figure out how should
- 47:55Speaker 1: be buying.
- 47:56Speaker 4: I've had commercial side this game.
- 47:57Speaker 1: I would know all about puzzles. Delilah.
- 48:00Speaker 8: Now I'm gonna give this two guys for free. I
- 48:03Speaker 8: would tell a student to try pick latin, just pick
- 48:07Speaker 8: a latin, make them remember you and I don't usually
- 48:10Speaker 8: do this kind of coaching. This is I just I would.
- 48:14Speaker 8: I've got favorites. Of course, I've got a favorite of
- 48:17Speaker 8: two student, and that's soon you'll stand out.
- 48:22Speaker 4: So like ow our, Hey, this is bad?
- 48:27Speaker 8: No, this is really bad? What about this? What about this?
- 48:31Speaker 3: Okay, I'll coach tricky because the rest of you are women. Tricky.
- 48:34Speaker 9: I want you to say this line and I want
- 48:36Speaker 9: you to be so freaking strong and stiff.
- 48:42Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, I'm devastated. I'm absolutely devastated. How could you
- 48:48Speaker 2: do this?
- 48:52Speaker 8: We were we've been married for years. Be brilliant, brilliant?
- 48:59Speaker 3: Yeah, I was all right, Okay, why don't you coach him?
- 49:05Speaker 5: Okay, yes, okay, Tricky? So I noticed, I'm trying to
- 49:10Speaker 5: think of in these sides.
- 49:14Speaker 1: I guess we're talking about him. Do you want to
- 49:17Speaker 1: coach Tricky? First?
- 49:18Speaker 8: No, no, no, of course not.
- 49:21Speaker 1: Of course, of course, of course. Okay.
- 49:23Speaker 5: So my question would be, where would the bite like
- 49:25Speaker 5: be in this right? Where is he or eating an
- 49:27Speaker 5: oreo and smiling? And I would say it comes right
- 49:30Speaker 5: after we've been married, right, we've been married, bite like
- 49:34Speaker 5: it four years. I'm hearing mumbling.
- 49:38Speaker 3: I swear it sounds like she's talking to a friend.
- 49:43Speaker 4: Do you have to do you have some sort of
- 49:46Speaker 4: confession camera or or secret.
- 49:49Speaker 8: I've been on the.
- 49:53Speaker 4: Time, So if we hear you speaking, we'll just assume
- 49:55Speaker 4: that you're speaking on the phone.
- 49:57Speaker 8: Yes, Yes, deposition I thought I was muting is also
- 50:02Speaker 8: a formal deposition.
- 50:04Speaker 4: You thought you were mutating. I'm sorry you were speaking.
- 50:09Speaker 8: I thought I was muted. I thought I was muted.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, let me try it with miss Nobles.
- 50:15Speaker 8: Yes, please the technique.
- 50:17Speaker 2: I'm devastated. I'm absolutely devastated. How could you do this
- 50:20Speaker 2: to me? We've been married. It's not taking a note
- 50:22Speaker 2: too well.
- 50:23Speaker 8: For years, I was.
- 50:27Speaker 2: Taking a note too well. I'm not an actor. I
- 50:30Speaker 2: am a teacher. I am a coach. I do not
- 50:32Speaker 2: take notes. Well I thought he did.
- 50:34Speaker 8: Okay.
- 50:34Speaker 1: My one note is that when you bid it, it
- 50:36Speaker 1: did really seem like you liked it.
- 50:41Speaker 2: Yeah, I could definitely work on this. Well, look at me.
- 50:43Speaker 2: I'm getting free acting coaches to take them. You want
- 50:46Speaker 2: to coach me, I would actually really try myself. Yeah,
- 50:49Speaker 2: go ahead, I'd like.
- 50:50Speaker 8: To try myself. Years for married, been weave me to this?
- 50:56Speaker 8: Do you could how devastated? Absolutely, I'm devastated. I'm weird.
- 51:05Speaker 1: So you write the whole thing backwards. I'll buy an oreo. Yeah,
- 51:10Speaker 1: I'm really great, like an aureo.
- 51:12Speaker 2: Right now.
- 51:12Speaker 8: You have to make yourself stand out as an actor
- 51:16Speaker 8: so obnoxious.
- 51:18Speaker 4: So you read backwards. That's your advice. To read all
- 51:22Speaker 4: the lines.
- 51:22Speaker 8: That's what I felt I could do to make myself
- 51:24Speaker 8: stand up. But do pick Latin read it backwards? Only
- 51:27Speaker 8: read some of the words, choose to read every third word?
- 51:30Speaker 2: What page are people getting this information on?
- 51:34Speaker 5: How much money in are they when they received the
- 51:38Speaker 5: advice read the sides backwards?
- 51:40Speaker 8: Sure, forty seven thousand dollars and fifty cents? They are
- 51:46Speaker 8: that deep. But these are people who want it. They
- 51:49Speaker 8: want it. They make an impression. Do you know how
- 51:51Speaker 8: many times my clients have been called in to two
- 51:54Speaker 8: hundred South. They get calls regularly, come come, We've got
- 51:58Speaker 8: something for you, which we really I think this is
- 52:00Speaker 8: gonna be it. It's gonna be a big this is
- 52:02Speaker 8: a big campaign.
- 52:04Speaker 9: It feels like your clients would probably waste casting director's.
- 52:08Speaker 3: Time a lot because they're saying what words wrong?
- 52:12Speaker 8: Well, you're also someone who said yo, kid was was
- 52:14Speaker 8: gendered and I can't get over it.
- 52:18Speaker 2: I can't, I can't.
- 52:19Speaker 3: I can't express enough how much I the day I
- 52:22Speaker 3: said it.
- 52:25Speaker 8: Regrets if you're gonna make a jumble lie and need
- 52:28Speaker 8: a kudru miss miss soogging about him.
- 52:31Speaker 6: My question I did want to ask you when people
- 52:33Speaker 6: come into two hundred South, do you say hi to them?
- 52:35Speaker 2: Because you're a two hundred one, you're right in the
- 52:37Speaker 2: path two oh one.
- 52:38Speaker 8: I do stand outside and I wave to the students.
- 52:40Speaker 8: I know some some go there's that bitch, and some
- 52:46Speaker 8: some some don't know who I am because I don't
- 52:49Speaker 8: have any photographs of myself on the site. I'm not.
- 52:51Speaker 8: I don't want to be famous. I want to be famous.
- 52:54Speaker 8: And guess what, guys, I don't want to be rich either.
- 52:57Speaker 8: The money I make from these students I put into
- 52:59Speaker 8: my bank accout, but I don't want to be rich.
- 53:01Speaker 4: Well there is that. I think they know your face
- 53:03Speaker 4: from that damning HBO docu series.
- 53:08Speaker 8: Which which one? Which?
- 53:10Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, there are a couple of.
- 53:13Speaker 1: Situation.
- 53:14Speaker 4: Yeah the bottom, isn't that what they called it?
- 53:17Speaker 5: I like.
- 53:18Speaker 3: I liked the one.
- 53:20Speaker 9: I clicked this blank website fifty thousand times and look
- 53:24Speaker 9: where I am.
- 53:24Speaker 8: Oh that video, Oh that busfeed ten times? I clicked this. Yeah. Absolutely.
- 53:30Speaker 1: I liked the Hulu one because they were able to
- 53:32Speaker 1: book you for it.
- 53:34Speaker 8: Down for it, yes, I said. At one point, I said,
- 53:39Speaker 8: there's a page on the on the site that kind
- 53:42Speaker 8: of when you go to it. It was broken for
- 53:44Speaker 8: some time. It was going to sending people to go
- 53:46Speaker 8: dadgy okay, And so I had people emailing me say,
- 53:50Speaker 8: I just paid twenty five thousand dollars, and I'm on
- 53:54Speaker 8: go jadgy, and I'd say, you know what, I will
- 53:58Speaker 8: suck your dick if you don't brush charges. Also dick
- 54:03Speaker 8: if you don't brush charges.
- 54:06Speaker 4: I was desperate.
- 54:06Speaker 8: I was desperate when when that happened, I was really embarrassed.
- 54:10Speaker 4: How are you desperate?
- 54:11Speaker 6: They're twenty five thousand dollars in, they're twenty five thousand
- 54:14Speaker 6: dollars in.
- 54:15Speaker 4: And this happened more than one time. And you offered
- 54:17Speaker 4: dick as a reflex, Yes, as a reflex.
- 54:20Speaker 8: But everybody didn't have a dick. Well, it's sure everyone
- 54:22Speaker 8: did have a dick. Some people have small ones, some
- 54:23Speaker 8: people have clits.
- 54:24Speaker 3: Now that sounds like my actings class.
- 54:27Speaker 8: Yeah, what, you don't teach people with clits, you see
- 54:29Speaker 8: people with dicks. But Denise, no noble, you've got a
- 54:32Speaker 8: giant clip.
- 54:33Speaker 1: Yeah, absolutely massive.
- 54:36Speaker 8: What would you compare it to if you if it
- 54:38Speaker 8: were a fruit?
- 54:39Speaker 5: Oh oh yeah, Oh well this messes of my answer.
- 54:43Speaker 5: This isn't exactly a fruit per se, but you know,
- 54:46Speaker 5: you know, a regular sized pickle.
- 54:48Speaker 2: It's not that.
- 54:49Speaker 1: So it's one of those mini pickles.
- 54:52Speaker 4: Okay, okay, did you.
- 54:53Speaker 1: Get in a jar?
- 54:54Speaker 5: So it's oh, like a gurrickin like a gurkin exactly,
- 54:58Speaker 5: still big for a clip, about two hundred.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Times as big as a clip should be.
- 55:04Speaker 3: That's out.
- 55:04Speaker 4: Like, yeah, that's fine, Tricky. Can I do my acting
- 55:10Speaker 4: method on you?
- 55:12Speaker 2: Yes, I would love that. That would be okay, great.
- 55:14Speaker 1: So look at the words a word puzzle.
- 55:17Speaker 2: Looking it over. I'm looking word. That's what you're gonna do.
- 55:21Speaker 6: No, that's in my book. I'm in class right now.
- 55:23Speaker 6: Look at the words. Okay, throw them out, throw them out.
- 55:26Speaker 6: Talk to me, look at me, look at me, look
- 55:28Speaker 6: at my eyes, look in my eyes. Tell me about
- 55:30Speaker 6: the time you were upset.
- 55:32Speaker 8: Be looking at the words. Still, No, I'm devastating.
- 55:37Speaker 4: No no, no, no, don't look at the words. Don't
- 55:39Speaker 4: get the words. Talk to me, Look to me, Look
- 55:40Speaker 4: to me, Look to me, Tricky, look to me in
- 55:42Speaker 4: the eyes. Talk to me at a time you were upset.
- 55:44Speaker 2: I think you should say, you know, like sometimes I
- 55:48Speaker 2: get upset because some people, you know, don't don't.
- 55:53Speaker 1: Song you bottom is the person on your phone call
- 55:55Speaker 1: listening to this as well?
- 56:00Speaker 8: Yeah, okay, you know what used this?
- 56:04Speaker 4: Use all of this, use this destruction, use this, use this.
- 56:07Speaker 2: This field exactly my when my wife actually left me.
- 56:11Speaker 4: It was great. What did you say to her? What
- 56:12Speaker 4: did you say to don't believe? I believe you?
- 56:14Speaker 8: I don't believe.
- 56:14Speaker 3: I put the phone closer. I can't hear.
- 56:17Speaker 8: Okay, okay, okay, okay, listen to this, I said, I said,
- 56:21Speaker 8: believe that works right there?
- 56:23Speaker 4: Why are you what's her name? What was her name?
- 56:25Speaker 2: Her name? Don't believe it, Tricia, What would you say
- 56:28Speaker 2: you would?
- 56:28Speaker 4: She said, You're not taking that up for.
- 56:31Speaker 2: A Tricia, I'm not this acting.
- 56:33Speaker 4: You're not never going to work. I'm leaving you. It's
- 56:35Speaker 4: never gonna work.
- 56:36Speaker 5: Conferenceing me into this space times I was like a
- 56:39Speaker 5: really good section.
- 56:40Speaker 4: Okay, position down the phone, coming said.
- 56:52Speaker 8: Absolutely and at all. Burying the sandwich, I'm still old.
- 56:58Speaker 8: I'm eating a tuna sandwich. Oh chicken of the sea.
- 57:04Speaker 6: Oil miss salling about them. You're not eating a tuna sandwich.
- 57:12Speaker 6: You haven't been. I heard all of that has a
- 57:15Speaker 6: boy food. But regardless, while all of that was happening, tricky,
- 57:21Speaker 6: that was fantastic work. Did that feel good?
- 57:24Speaker 8: I felt really good?
- 57:25Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 57:25Speaker 2: It felt it felt like I I didn't even need
- 57:29Speaker 2: the shoes. The shoes were nothing. I didn't need ant moccasins.
- 57:34Speaker 4: You earned yourself a SKU. Take the book.
- 57:39Speaker 1: That's your reward.
- 57:40Speaker 8: Your reward, Tricky, I wasn't impressed. I was eating a sandwich.
- 57:44Speaker 8: You were, I was in my mind, Well, I you know,
- 57:49Speaker 8: I love, I was eating a sandwich. I was eating
- 57:52Speaker 8: a chicken of the sea tuna fish sandwich. And then
- 57:57Speaker 8: my friend, I sure did I and the volume up
- 58:00Speaker 8: on my friend because I said, I don't believe him.
- 58:02Speaker 8: He's got to pull me back in. He's got to
- 58:04Speaker 8: pull me back into this commercial. Commercial? Is thirty seconds?
- 58:07Speaker 3: In seconds quick as an afternoon?
- 58:11Speaker 8: Yeah, well, well no, in afternoon is a little bit
- 58:15Speaker 8: more than thirty seconds. I'd say that's just met.
- 58:23Speaker 2: But actually it's not. Morning is like nine to twelve,
- 58:26Speaker 2: right or nine to eleven?
- 58:28Speaker 4: Now, I think morning starts at four before we nail
- 58:31Speaker 4: this down.
- 58:33Speaker 2: Sure, sure, sure, morning feels like sun is up this morning.
- 58:38Speaker 8: Look, here's the deal where I am at this morning,
- 58:40Speaker 8: and I've actually quite enjoyed getting to know each of you.
- 58:44Speaker 8: I'm going to say, Denise, you do have what it
- 58:48Speaker 8: takes to be an actor in this town. Should you
- 58:50Speaker 8: ever choose to to believe in the educating, I'm going
- 58:57Speaker 8: to say tricky. You know my stance on you. I
- 59:01Speaker 8: unfortunately don't think you have what it takes. In fact,
- 59:03Speaker 8: I think you should close up shop and just sell
- 59:05Speaker 8: the shoes. Just sell the shoes. No acting stuff, that's
- 59:10Speaker 8: what you do.
- 59:11Speaker 3: You should be honest.
- 59:12Speaker 8: Delilah, Delilah. I think you're gonna do great background work.
- 59:17Speaker 8: I actually think you're gonna do great back.
- 59:19Speaker 4: You got credit, you can.
- 59:21Speaker 3: Sit around, and you got all those puzzles. You gotta
- 59:24Speaker 3: kill craft that's it.
- 59:25Speaker 1: That sounds like you're heaven.
- 59:26Speaker 4: There's crafty, there's crafty, crafty.
- 59:29Speaker 1: I know eight hours and holding to do su dokus?
- 59:32Speaker 1: What could be better? This sounds like you're dream.
- 59:35Speaker 8: And and Barry Barry Barry. I want to go to
- 59:39Speaker 8: your church. I want you to go back to pastoring.
- 59:41Speaker 8: I want to go to your church.
- 59:43Speaker 3: I won't go back to pastoring. They won't have me back,
- 59:45Speaker 3: they won't have what happened. I rwe the day they
- 59:49Speaker 3: kicked me out.
- 59:50Speaker 8: Well, if you're gonna make a jumbalaya, you know what
- 59:52Speaker 8: you need, what you need.
- 59:55Speaker 2: And Esther, I gotta say, even though you're you, I
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: acting and all this, I was cutting people off me.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: I've got to say, there was something so enchanting about you.
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: I could watch you on the silver screen every day.
- 1:00:10Speaker 8: You should was I was I cutting people off?
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: Who was on the phone? Who are those loud? Who
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: are those loud characters on the phone?
- 1:00:19Speaker 8: Was my auntie? My auntie?
- 1:00:21Speaker 6: That was not your auntie. That's like an old agent.
- 1:00:26Speaker 6: That was your aunt my auntie.
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: There was the old man and the old auntie sounding
- 1:00:33Speaker 5: person because there.
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: Was an Auntie that sounded there was strictly auntie.
- 1:00:38Speaker 8: Yes, there was an auntie, and then there was an
- 1:00:40Speaker 8: old agent my aunt So my I'm related to an
- 1:00:44Speaker 8: agent by marriage?
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: Which agent?
- 1:00:47Speaker 8: Uh? Which agent? C A A.
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: You my marriage are connected to z A?
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Which like?
- 1:00:55Speaker 8: And you want? Yeah, c A A he's he is
- 1:00:59Speaker 8: c A A.
- 1:01:00Speaker 7: Oh, he's creative. He's creative artist, artists, he's created artists.
- 1:01:04Speaker 8: Agency. Wow.
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: Anyway, you know what, maybe we end this by by
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: giving everyone urt.
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: If we end this by giving everybody the one piece
- 1:01:14Speaker 6: of advice that we've ended class with, great idea.
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: Okay, great, so I'll start look in the mirror and
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: take that to work, because that's all you need.
- 1:01:25Speaker 8: Mm hmmm, amazing, amazing.
- 1:01:29Speaker 5: I say, kids, no bull fuck out of here with
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: that bad attitude. You fucking hear me, go home? And
- 1:01:35Speaker 5: then they come right fast.
- 1:01:37Speaker 8: Yeah yeah, yeah yeah uh.
- 1:01:40Speaker 9: I grab a chapter book in my hands and I say,
- 1:01:45Speaker 9: buck up, losers, and let's time.
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: It's time to and I throw.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: The book and I say, well book, it's time to
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: will book, will book, time to will book. You cut
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: yourself off, go time to throw the book, and they go,
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: will book.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: Yeah, that's how it goes.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: Well, I say, no, matter what the shoe is, it
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: looks great on you.
- 1:02:06Speaker 8: I don't know if they can advice.
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: That's great because it works with both shoe advice and
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: character advice.
- 1:02:12Speaker 8: It's kind of perfect.
- 1:02:13Speaker 3: Well, I can't put the aga.
- 1:02:16Speaker 8: Okay, yeah, hearing this advice, I love.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: This are about my methods completely acting or something is
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: just really triggering.
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: You cannot see you tricky, tricky, tricky.
- 1:02:42Speaker 8: I ultimately think you're fantastic, and I think you'd be
- 1:02:44Speaker 8: a great shoe salesperson. I'd buy a pair of shoes.
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: Would I would what's your acting advice?
- 1:02:54Speaker 8: My acting advice? If I would be succinct, I would say,
- 1:02:59Speaker 8: ask your self, do I really want this? I feel
- 1:03:07Speaker 8: you would be that really want this? And then you
- 1:03:11Speaker 8: might say no, you know what, I don't want this
- 1:03:14Speaker 8: after all. You might say that I don't want this
- 1:03:16Speaker 8: after all, no, thank you. Then you might say, yes,
- 1:03:18Speaker 8: I do really want this. I know what I want this,
- 1:03:20Speaker 8: and it's this, At which point I'd say, come on,
- 1:03:23Speaker 8: be real with yourself. Do you really want it? Take
- 1:03:28Speaker 8: a beat, ask yourself, do you really want it? Are
- 1:03:33Speaker 8: you going to give up everything you've got for it?
- 1:03:37Speaker 8: Is there no other job you can do and be happy? Okay?
- 1:03:42Speaker 8: Then say no, you know what, there's other things I
- 1:03:46Speaker 8: could do. I could work in tech, I could work
- 1:03:48Speaker 8: in fast food industry, I could be in the medical profession,
- 1:03:52Speaker 8: or say yes, this is what I want, at which
- 1:03:57Speaker 8: point I'd to say, take a beat and ask yourself, right,
- 1:04:03Speaker 8: am I really ready to go after this?
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: I think your website.
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: You're not. I mean, I'm mean sink.
- 1:04:13Speaker 6: Are you going to be upsetting? Are you going to
- 1:04:14Speaker 6: be upset when this goes up and people can listen
- 1:04:16Speaker 6: to this for free.
- 1:04:17Speaker 8: Means I'm changing the website. I'm actually changing the website
- 1:04:21Speaker 8: at the beginning of the month, so.
- 1:04:25Speaker 2: Nobody will know.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: Nobody's getting free wisdom.
- 1:04:28Speaker 4: So everything you said is going to be completely different.
- 1:04:31Speaker 6: Sure.
- 1:04:32Speaker 8: Sure, and then after that, find some copy that inspires
- 1:04:39Speaker 8: you talk about commercial, progressive commercial. I love flow, favorite student.
- 1:04:47Speaker 9: You're just summarizing your interview here today, just summarizing the
- 1:04:53Speaker 9: last fifty.
- 1:04:56Speaker 8: Please don't, please, I could, if I might, asked that
- 1:04:59Speaker 8: you not interrupt me because I am trying to be succinct.
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: Yeah, this isn't succinct. This is a summary.
- 1:05:06Speaker 8: I'm trying to be succinct to you. And find just something,
- 1:05:10Speaker 8: you know, commercial that's made you feel something. Maybe it's
- 1:05:12Speaker 8: an Apple commercial, maybe it's maybe it's a Walmart. Find
- 1:05:17Speaker 8: that copy. If you can't find the copy online on
- 1:05:20Speaker 8: a forum somewhere on Quora, read it, just listen to it,
- 1:05:24Speaker 8: find it, find it on YouTube, and transcribe it for yourself.
- 1:05:32Speaker 8: Transcribe it and then memorize it, plant it deep in
- 1:05:36Speaker 8: your heart. And sure the commercial has been done already,
- 1:05:40Speaker 8: but manifest maybe you'll get to do one. Maybe you
- 1:05:42Speaker 8: get to do one with the script just like it.
- 1:05:44Speaker 8: Maybe you won't you say this in the end of
- 1:05:47Speaker 8: every class, Please, if you could just not interrupt me
- 1:05:52Speaker 8: and hold all the applause and questions until the end.
- 1:05:58Speaker 8: So then say, and what's my relationship to this copy.
- 1:06:05Speaker 8: I don't want to be married to it. I don't
- 1:06:07Speaker 8: want to be in an open relationship with it. I
- 1:06:10Speaker 8: just want to see it sometimes. You know, we kind
- 1:06:12Speaker 8: of both do earth. Copy does its thing and I
- 1:06:14Speaker 8: do my thing, and we meet up after fun Friday night.
- 1:06:18Speaker 8: You're drunk, I'm drunk. Copy is drunk, and we say
- 1:06:21Speaker 8: Copy wants to come over and just find your relationship
- 1:06:26Speaker 8: to it and own it. Yeah, that's in short, what's
- 1:06:35Speaker 8: in short? That is what i'd say.
