- JB: What's up, everybody? Welcome back to another episode of Sports Talk with JB inside of Bovis Barbershop. And I'm your host, JB. And today we're doing stuff a little different today. We're going live. That's right, the barbershop. We're going live at the barbershop. And we have a special guest that will be in the in the building in the shop today. Back by Popular Demand. We got two of the guys who will be here joining us in a few minutes, but we're gonna start off with just me and Eric. Go ahead and introduce yourself, Eric, and tell them what team you're representing. Motown: Hello, world, my name is Eric. Other people call me Motown. know who I'm representing. Let's do it, baby. JB: He's saying that now, but it was it wasn't representing over the weekend. That's all I gotta say on that. Motown: y'all got lucky too. Yeah yeah we we JB: Okay. Motown: we we stopped ourselves JB: Hey. Is that a L or W, you what they always say and I'm lo I I'm loving that a a W we got. So Motown: Hey, I'm not even upset about me getting the L because from I we look good. I I'm satisfied with the product we put on the field. We look good. It JB: yeah, how Motown: it was very close. We had some mistakes, but you all won. Y'all got the W. Congratulations. JB: Thank you, Bill. Don't worry, we're gonna get into that topic. let's give it a second. We're gonna get into it, but all right, let's go ahead and start with this on intro that we just did. All right, we're gonna go and chop into week one. Has officially started, is in the books. We got a lot to talk about, with some teams making statements, some teams getting exposed, quarterbacks making noise, and some running backs going crazy. And of course you know we gotta talk about that controversial call with the New Orleans Saints and the Detroit Lions and get everybody an opinion on that one. Man, we gotta talk about the return of Patrick Mahomes. I think the NFL they messed up and gave that boy a running back. So on that note, let's hop into the show. And Eric, we're gonna start off with one second, strike. What was the biggest surprise of the first week of the NFL season to you? Motown: No doubt Arizona victory. That caught me off guard. JB: Can you say it again? Motown: With all the what they had going on as far as love might not play, Rissette is not a on a five starting quarterback, Harrison coming off the injury. Then the opponent, yeah, that was a surprise to me, the victory with the Cardinals. JB: Yeah, I I think for me, I ain't gonna lie to you, it was the Chicago Bears. Chicago Bears, man, they did the comeback they did against Carolina and Caleb Williams went crazy. I believe he had like a total of three hundred and thirty four yards. so I think yeah, I'm trying to make sure I don't mess up his stats. two touchdowns, no four touchdowns total. My bad Chicago fans. But bang. And also he can't count out the running game. They had like a I think a total of over three hundred yards rushing, Swift a hundred and twenty four yards and three touchdowns. So for me, Chicago was my surprise team up of the week. Motown: You know what? I'm not gonna try to take no shine away from them. But everybody's looking at that they won and they put up 59 points. That's good. But they also gave up 37 or 39 points. And a lot of other teams in the NFL didn't even give up 30 points. So what is that really saying? You can score, but can you stop? JB: Yeah, I I know what you're saying, but you know, of course it's their first game of the season. Hopefully they can gel up. 'cause Motown: Right. Right. JB: they had a lot of they had a couple of injuries too, especially in the secondary at the last like think up up to the last minute. But you're right, thirty seven punches is a lot, but I'm just amazed at the comeback they came back. you know, I had Carolina winning the division last time we got on the on this on the podcast I had our show. So that would that'll be my surprise, but man, it's they came back, but you know, it's hard to get three hundred yards total of rushing for a team. Motown: yes, absolutely. I agree. JB: Five five five hundred and fifty two yards total offense. Man, that's that's that's crazy work there. Motown: So let me I don't even know what the stats are, but what is Carolina stats? They stats can't be too shabby either. I I I don't know what this stats is, but I know they have to have at least 300, 400 yards total offense. JB: Yeah, I w I would say 'cause first half but first half it was it was it was hot. They was making it look easy. Motown: Yeah. Yeah. But I mean I'm not taking away from Chicago. That's that's that was the most points put up this week. I mean it was a great showing. and they sustained. I they're saying they want to be the number one offense in the league. Amen. JB: Mm-hmm. Motown: That's that's pretty come out and say that. That's good. That's good. JB: Right. So you think on that note what I think I have this right we we come back to it. I'll wait to see where the guys come back and see what you think about Caleb. Welcome everybody back to Sports Talk with J B and we're just going through a little tech technical, difficult. Right, and so we're back to it. That's the that's what you get when you go live. You never know what's gonna happen. So we got my dog Smooth, he joined us today. So he means Smooth: Yeah. JB: Smooth, let him know the team you run. Say let them know the team that you're repping today. Smooth: you know, I'm all day rapping them. Cowboys, babe, all day. Every day. When lose a drop. JB: You I had to I had to put it out there. What's wrong with you? Motown: It's only fair, It's only fair, bro. He get that chance. It's only fair, JB: All right, smooth. So for before we got before before we had the technical difficult we so Motown: Mm-hmm. JB: first question I asked was what team surprised the surprised the most on the first week of NFL season? So I had tr I had the Bears, he had the Ar Ari C Arizona Cardinals. What you got? Smooth: Yeah. Motown: like you JB: night. Motown: buffer. Smooth with it. Smooth: Yeah, I'm bet. Motown: Alright, alright. Did you hear the question? Smooth: Yeah, I'm rep cowboy. JB: I was I said on Smooth: Cowboys all dick. Motown: No, we passed it up, man. We already passed that, bro. We already passed it up, bro. Smooth: I didn't know. JB: The question I had Smooth was I said what team surprised you the most in the first week of the NFL s season? I had the Smooth: but JB: Bears and he had Everton Cardinals. Smooth: Cardinals. I believe the Cardinals too. The Cardinals surprised me. Definitely. I didn't expect them to win. So I see the Cardinals. I don't think a lot of people expected them to win. JB: Yeah, I I agree with you probably no especially with them having a quarterback situation. Matter of fact, who the who who the hell is the quarterback? Trying to remember. Motown: Is Jacob, Jacob, Jacobi Reset. Don't play with him. JB: the Cobby, okay, that's right. That's right. That's right. Motown: Don't play with that man. Put some JB: But Motown: respect on his name. JB: My bad, my bad. Smooth: Yeah. JB: All right, and the question that we had got to before before everything had went went crazy, what team what team won but wasn't convincing like man that was that was it just wasn't convincing when like most most people, most good most teams that win, you'd be like, damn them boys made a statement, but what team didn't make that statement to y'all? Motown: Thank Smooth: man. Was it convincing? Motown: you Smooth: I'm I might say the Might say Philly. It wasn't that convincing. It was a tough game. You know what I'm saying? You know, they they play a lot of games ugly like that though. You know what I'm saying? But I see I JB: Yeah. Smooth: say Philly. Philly game. Yeah. I mean, you know, it wasn't that impressive. But it was an ugly win. That's why I say that. JB: You don't have to convince me. I was talking to you off camera. I said the same thing. That was a that was a ugly ass win. Man, we it's kind of like what we talked about the last on our last podcast, where it's gonna be tough because they can only run Saquon so much and you saw he had a run here and there, but for the offense, man, it it that's the kind of offense you you'd think that AJ would Motown: Yeah. Thank Smooth: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. They JB: deal with. Smooth: was trying to they was getting through that line a little bit. I think your boy got hurt, huh, Decker? He hurt us. I think he hurt. So that's worse. Motown: For who? For the Eagles? Smooth: Yeah. Ain't his name Decker or something? Deckerson? Motown: What was this in play? JB: Yeah, basically. Motown: What was this? JB: yeah, yeah, yeah. I know Yeah, he did get hurt. That's that for sure. Even with him in the game it just didn't it just didn't seem like it was moving like it's supposed to, from my opinion on 'cause again, that goes back to that no Motown: you JB: no chemistry in the preseason. So what you got, E? Motown: I would say the Eagles, but just as much as I say the Eagles victory, meant to say the Lions victory. That victory wasn't impressive either, because matter of fact, that's two games that they let teams come back and had the opportunity to win the game. So I would go with the Eagles and the Both of those victories weren't impressive. JB: You said a set of banana. Motown: I'm sorry, I'm saying, you know, I'm saying, did they think, bro? You gotta give it to her, bro. I mean, she really showed that what that team really shows some, to win because no matter how you look at it, team scores was with the team scores three times. That's that's not just that's JB: Man, jumping You jump good, man. Jump Motown: just not one. Hold on. That's just not one part of the team. That's more than one part contributing to them three straight scores, whether it's offense and defense or special teams and offense. So Any team that scores three straight times. That's impressive. That's impressive. So I mean they showed you can't come back so that. Yeah, so they got some stuff to work on, but if they can keep that going with it. JB: Well, I'd like to thank you 'cause the next question was what losing team that impressed you? Motown: You already know man, come on man, shut it out man. Come on man, stop playing with me dog, stop playing with me, I already told you. We lost but I feel good about that loss, that's the loss I feel good about. I really do, I'm impressed with the offensive line, with the defense, I was impressed with the defensive calling. I was just impressed, I was impressed. I mean we started slow offense but we still showed the ability to come back and score. Yes, we did that yesterday as well. My team, Washington, the Commanders. JB: Wait a smooth before you get yours. So so E, you said that you was impressed, but could it be that Philly didn't play well either? Motown: It's a small combination of it. I'm not going to lie and say no, it's a small combination of that. team to Washington. with 70 % of your team coming back, 80 % of your team coming back from last year. Y'all lost like three or players. So we lost, we got some of the homeless, a whole little team really. yeah, I was impressed. Yes, more impressed than y'all not performing like y'all supposed to. Let me say it like that, yeah. JB: would say that we I on on paper I would think that y'all would probably have a better offense than us because besides you know Jelly gonna do him Saquon and what our tight end got the tight end name got our tight Motown: Got it. JB: end Godd he pretty much our offense and every once in a while you Smith had a good a decent game. It wasn't no blowing out the way. I think he had like sixty nine or seventy yards I think. but I would think y'all have more offensive talent from Terry to digs, those two running backs. It was that was nice. Y'all got a nice tight end. We don't even know what Motown: Point. Point. He's a good receiver, he's not number one. But yeah, you know what though? Saying it that way, I do agree that we have some serious weapons, but they haven't played the game. So it's gonna take them about four weeks before they can get on the page together. It's gonna take some time. I'm impressed with what we've seen. We started slow, we can move the ball, and we stopped being moved. So that impressed me. That really impressed me. And like I said, it was against a that is a super-boom winning team, playoff team, but they haven't played together well yet either. You know what I'm saying? it's too early. Those games in beginning of season, the first three, four games, you can steal. And those are the ones that you need to try to get. as quick as possible because everybody's trying to learn coaches and new players. So it's all three. So yeah, first three foot balls. Those are still those girls. in your code. I can talk about watching this forever. You know what I'm It smooths out. Huh? Yeah. I mean, I'm trying not to, know, steal the show. I'm just trying to stay facts, that's all. You hear me? It's still early, I mean, we got a lot to work on. It's still early, everybody got a lot to work on. Week one, baby, that's all, just week one. The Charms, they gotta get their life together, because they lost to the Arizona Cardinals. JB: yeah. Motown: I don't know, smooth. Y'all gonna look like, y'all, y'all, I think y'all gonna look the same all year. I think defense is going to the same all year. They're to do nothing different. But I'm not saying y'all gonna, I'm not saying nobody gonna blow y'all out. I'm just saying y'all gonna look the same. yeah. Huh? I was impressed with my team. From where we come from, yeah, I want to look the same. I want to keep looking just like that. Here we go. Here we go. Because you know it's coming. You know it's coming. We got two more weeks. Get it together. You don't want to learn that. You don't want to learn that. You don't want to learn that. My love, the man ain't bothering nobody. Alright, nice and real what you're asking for. When that fall out, the little man get hit. Don't be mad, you're asking for it. You must have seen that lick JB: Right. So for me Motown: you put on Hertz. You saw that lick you put on Hertz? Yeah, that's what he bringing. Yeah, I'm gonna bring it right down. JB: For me, well I'm gonna say for me it was that Saints loss. Like we taught like E talked about before, that was impressive to come back like they did and to lose like they that was that was crazy work. but I would say 'cause I didn't be honest with you, that was again one of them games I was like, this is gonna be either gonna go gonna be a close game or Detroit gonna bust that ass. But I was I was impressed. Right. So I w I was impressed with it personally. Motown: Yes, I mean, but he had the most passing yards yesterday. No, that's impressive. he was impressive, but you know, I don't think he I didn't pay it like that yesterday. I was just more focused on winning the pool. How did it look? You on smooth? talking to myself. Me, myself, and I. JB: I would have a perfect a perfect week even when checking for this golden. Exactly. Hey, that's my That's my trash talk, Motown: You ain't gonna stop. You ain't gonna stop. JB: right? That's what That's always my trash talk, you know that. Motown: Say what? JB: Ha ha Okay. All right, but we should be good and Yeah. All right, where we go, we good. Motown: Who let you know? JB: All right. Motown: Who let you down? JB: All right, y'all just I was messing about my Motown: that's natural. JB: own all the teams I have. Motown: That's all the time, smooth. Let talk about something else. JB: All right, well Motown: Come on man, come on, I know you don't want to Come on get it out breathe. Get it out. Say bro, I always, I'm gonna tell something like this to the Saints fans bro. You need to get on my knees and see this. When I say this, back in the corner like this. Before the Saints went in Super Bowl. always talk about watching that old ring. I say, well, we got one. I say, guess what? If they had a party at the Superdome JB: See it. Motown: and they invited only Super Bowl champs, what would you be doing outside looking trying to get in, huh? Cause you ain't got no ring, huh? When the last time y'all went to the championship, smooth? When the last time y'all been to the championship, smooth? When the last time y'all been to the championship, brother? All right, now stop talking, huh? Come on, now. Come on, now. Come on, now. Come on. Come on. Come on. What is it? No, save me. Not no more. Not no more. Boop. Not no more. I said championship and I ain't say no Super Bowl. I said championship not Super Bowl. Okay, what'd get? 91. Hmm. You're right. Thank you. 91 91 1991 Mark super duper written Yeah, I'm not saying is all I'm saying is all every last all I said is old I'm just saying. I'm just saying. Yeah, you did nothing. All you did was stir the pot. That's all you did. You just stirred the pot. You talking about you had to put me down. No, you didn't put me down. You just stirred the pot. That's all you did. I'm slow cooking over here, I'm slow cooking. I'm slow cooking. You hear me? I'm slow cooking over here, baby. JB: Yeah, baby. Motown: Yeah. JB: Yeah. Man, look. You slow cooking, but you ain't the chef. You're on the grill. You ain't the chef. I will. Motown: You ain't gonna eat till it's dirt? No matter, ain't gotta be this show. Say, bro, let me tell you something. As long as you don't start that cowboy talk, we good. JB: Hey buddy, let me tell you something. As long as you don't start that cowboy talk, we good. Motown: Thanks for JB: All right. Next question I got for y'all before this internet go out. Like I said, sorry everybody, internet is giving me trouble tonight. What quarterback was most impressive in game one? Season on game yeah, week one? Motown: I Definitely would have to say I'm trying to take all the games in our quarterback that they could tomorrow had a good game Bryce had a good game Kate up had a good game This came in ahead JB: I definitely would have to say ooh, wait. I can't. Trying to think all the games in all the quarterback to play because Lamar had a good game. Yeah. Bryce had a good game. K dup had a good game. Wes came in and had a good game. I'm gonna say Caleb. Motown: Because he did multiple things to win a Yeah, I was like. Mm hmm. JB: Because he he did multiple things to win that game. Yeah, I would say Caleb. I agree with you. That's that's my pick too. like I talked about earlier, the Bears was my surprise team and can't take nothing from it. He had like I think I told you earlier, sixty five yards rushing, I think like two sud two sixty five passing, four touchdowns total. He was pretty much he d he did what it took to win. I know I know you said earlier, They gave up thirty seven points, but he put up fifty nine. Him and his team. So Yeah, I mean that that votes twice for the whole week. I mean for the whole day with everything playing. that was is Motown: Yeah, I mean, that that votes place for the whole. I mean, for the whole day plan. That was is interesting. JB: impressive. we both agreed on Alan. Caleb was the one for me, yeah, he he did his thing. Motown: Yeah, he would have to get the most impressed player on Sunday. Most impressed player. Yeah, he did multiple things in that game. And you know, I didn't really move from Bonte to tell his senior year, he had already won the Hotchman and he was going up for the second time. You know, they only had one person that really won the Hotchman. And so that kind of woke me up a little bit. And so I have this guy that's in the fan state. He was telling me, man, you watch this kid, he's the deal. He's the truth, he's the truth. And so when I started watching him, it was his last year of college. And he was impressive, but I just seen some other things that I don't know if I was looking forward to. But when it came down to drafting quarterbacks for the draft for the first pick, he was my choice. It was Jaden, but it was a little bit of Drake too. was a little bit of Drake too. But Caleb was not on my list. But he was impressive in college. have to admit, I didn't watch him this first year when he was really impressive when he won the Heisman. So they say he's the guy, man. He's the guy. So I've seen some flashes of he can be the guy. But I've seen some other tendencies that kind of like, OK. But I think they move. I mean, he would have dropped the right coach. I think with the right food. I think with the right food. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. JB: Yeah, you that's always you gotta have that quarterback. If you don't have the right coach to put him, he's gonna look like a big bust. So I would say Caleb had a good one and again, Shug had a nice game, four hundred and what yeah, four four ten, three touchdowns. who else was an honorable mention? Like you say like you said earlier, Bryce Young. He had a good game. Let's see if I can put his numbers up. Three twenty three twenty four, Lamar three sixty eight. Motown: I didn't even say the real best guy because we expected out of him all the time. Josh Allen, we expected out of him all the time. He had heaven. He had heaven. JB: He was next on the list. Three seventy seven. Motown: Yeah, but we really expected out of him. So that's like a normal for him just about. What's for Caleb? And then his point in his question put up, yeah, he was the guy. He was the guy. JB: I agree, 'cause he had a good one. So my and okay, we talked about quarterbacks, let's go on to receivers. What receiver had as you can think about, what receiver put on a good show for you this week? Motown: you JB: Yeah, we got Motown: Jefferson Jefferson I Mean we suppose have been trained with the first couple seasons to expect that out of him But then like the last year and a half so we didn't get net We haven't it yesterday JB: Yeah. I'm gonna say Jefferson had a good one for for me and also I can I can I'm gonna throw two in there if I fast. I I say one, but I can go flowers. He had a good game. and also came we talked about the Saints earlier, Chris, man, he he put on ten catches. I think it Motown: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I love it, yeah. JB: was ten catches, a hundred and eighty sudden yards, eighty two or eighty three yards. So Motown: Right? Yeah, yeah. JB: he he might be leading the I think he might be leading the lead in receiv well, I it's only one game, but still I think he probably leading the lead in in in Motown: Receiving yards. OK. I think I can I can JB: yards. So I would say that's be that'll be my two, but I go in on Chris, man. That dude he put on a hell of a show. For me. So you Motown: I can that was that was impressive game, so I mean now. Do you think he's the number one? JB: I was just about to ask you, what do you think that he needs to do to be I think he's for the Saints, yeah he's number one, but what do you think he needs to do to beat on that that next level as elite receivers? Because he always put up some good numbers to me, but he just can't stay healthy. but I know a lot of people don't think he's number one, but I think he might be out to prove this year that he is that number one. But that was a big game. Motown: Yeah, that was a very good game and if you can continue to play it and stay healthy. I don't know. And I don't want to be offensive. If he did that, he'd still be considered a number one. But could he be considered like the superstar of the team? Because number one to me is that. How big is his road? Do you know how big it's rotary is? Cause I don't know. I don't know. know, number one, they gotta have, it's not really all about the speed. You gotta have hands. So he's like to me, he's like a number two, but he could be at number one. I just have to see what kind of routes he have in his repertoire. JB: I know he's good at the the comebacks, of course he's good at slants. I know it's more than that and also you know going deep, deep crossing. So I I think he got a pretty nice one on route where you asked me on but I just wanna see a little bit more before I can consider him being on that that next level elite, Motown: Okay. JB: but he can keep it going and and of course the biggest thing is stay healthy. And I think he Motown: Right, right, right. JB: can I think he can join that list of the of those elite receivers. 'Cause again, Motown: Okay. JB: I was impressed with Tyler and I think he can do that the whole season. 'cause he shook back again I don't gonna go back to Tyler to Shuck, but he shook back after those interceptions and he played like what a quarterback's supposed to do, forget about that. what what you did. So I I g I gotta give him kudos for that. Motown: Okay. JB: Let's talk about the running back. wait, wait. I got you. Let's talk about running backs. What running backs impress you? Motown: It's not even it's I don't know what else I can give for that one because there was just so many running back that did so good yesterday like Kenny Walker did good, Swift did good, JB: my god. god, can you Motown: Taylor had an average day, Derrick Henry did good, Astro Gentsy JB: man, Henry poof. Henry Henry put on some Henry hundred and sixty three yards. Henry put on the show. Sue can't hate to give two people credit, but Fel with Falcon's running back, BJ Robinson. Robison he had a nice game and of course got doggone Gibbs. Hundred and eighty six yards again total. Motown: John Robinson I can't forget it. Even Breece Hall had a good game. JB: Which one? Motown: Breece Hall. He did have a good game. You don't think he had a good game? JB: You said priest homes? Motown: I said Breece Hall. JB: I th I thought you said freeze home. I thought you were trying to be funny 'cause I Motown: You know, man, come JB: Yeah. Motown: on. So I mean, I guess I will probably say. We want him to do it and he did do it today. So I would say Gentry for me. JB: Gotcha. Mool, you back? I asked him what what running backs impress Smooth: Yeah. JB: you in week one? Smooth: Running backs impressed. JB: Yeah. Motown: you Smooth: It might be crazy, but I like that boy black. Even though he was a backup for Frisco, he ran nice. especially walking press. That was number one. Walk, walking definitely press. JB: Yeah, we I was telling E didn't messed and gave Patrick Mahomes a running game. Pat only had like a hundred and eight. Say it again, E. Smooth: Yeah. Motown: Days. Smooth: Man, he gave bought he must have had about 30 caras or something. Man, that was crazy. Motown: Hmm. Smooth: But who else did good? even Love did nice too on the slick. Love did nice on the slick, say his his first game. You know what I'm saying? And kinda think somebody wanna guess a a real good defense that was Mm-hmm. I have to think of the other one. I can't really think of somebody like who really impressed me. Well, I'm gonna say scatterboo. Say scatterboo. He impress me. Yeah, scatterboo. Can't heat on. You know what I'm saying? Motown: Yeah, you JB: Was it the run was it a running or Motown: get it. JB: the back we did on y'all end zone? I mean on the Giants end zone. Smooth: Both of them. Motown: Come on out. Come on out. Come on out. Smooth: Both of them, bruh. Both of them. I don't like both of them. I I thought he gonna hurt the ankle. I thought he Motown: Come on up. JB: Yep. Smooth: gonna hurt the leg when he backflips. Mm-hmm. I'm like, come on, come on. JB: I took a deep breath. I was like, Smooth: You know, but it's all good. We gotta plan with that. Right. I mean, we we JB: But he said that's the blast he said that's the last one. So he said he won't be doing that no more. But yeah, that was Smooth: can't always beat them at home. They gotta win sometime, you know what I'm saying? We can't always be beat somebody at their home all the time. You know what I'm saying? They gotta win some fucking time. You know what I'm saying? So, JB: Right. Smooth: yeah. Motown: That's how you gonna put JB: Right. Motown: it bro. That's how you gonna put it. You sound like a cowboy. That's how you gonna put it. That's what a cowboy would say. That's a cowboy would say. Smooth: What? Y'all wanna y'all lost at home? Y'all lost at home? JB: It would Smooth: Y'all lost at homey? JB: what but it what what a couple Motown: No, we lost on the road. We lost on the road. Smooth: See what I'm saying? You gotta win at home. All right. You made my point. You gotta win at home. Motown: with it. Smooth: So you you so you saying you accept you accept the loss at home? That was you telling me? That's why y'all said. That's why that's why y'all said. That's Motown: I don't accept a loss anytime. I don't accept a loss anytime. Smooth: why y'all said. That's why y'all said. I see. It's thinking like that. Motown: But guess what though? If we're sad, you know y'all sadder. You know this, man. Y'all, Smooth: We may we want more games than y'all had shit. Motown: here we go. just told you, same old, same old. And guess what? That's why I said earlier, y'all defense is gonna look the same. Your defense gonna look the same all year. Ain't gonna change, it gonna look the same. It's gonna look the same. I'm warning you the way we look. I'm warning you. I bet JB: In this way. Smooth: That means if we say y'all sadder. Y'all sadder. And y'all gonna look the same. Y'all ain't looking no better. Y'all ain't looking no better. Motown: you you wanna JB: So E. Motown: look the way you look. I it. Smooth: Y'all ain't looking no better. JB: E my question is you said they're gonna look the same. So there was ranked Motown: her. JB: thirty I thir you said they're gonna look the same. So they was ranked number thirty two last year, so you're saying it's not gonna come down. Motown: I'm gonna give them a break. I'm talking about yesterday from Sunday. do look Sunday? How do look? yeah, whatever ranking that is. I'm pretty sure it was in the thirties. JB: Ha ha ha. trying to help you. I thought he was gonna say something else, man. But we talk in Smooth: I'm not worried about somebody. Look, I'm not worrying about somebody who my quarterback has a super winning record over. Motown: Thank Yeah, like you told me earlier we talking about no wins we talk about Super Bowl JB: Hey, since we talk let's do this, man. Since we talking defense, what defense what defense a player or defense impressure? Motown: smooth. JB: I I first of y'all need since y'all think about it. To me, I'm gonna say that my forty nine y'all let me mine's like I got three teams, y'all remember that. forty nineers, man. The hell the Rams to just what, seven percent, whatever it was. All the hype about the Rams coming in, they're gonna be this and do that, the super team. I would say for me the forty niners and also I got a chance. I they say he's the number one cornerback in the league, Gonzalez, I think his name. But that that dude that do the truth, man. I had the chance to really watch him. Motown: Mm-hmm. JB: Yeah, I slept on him. I hear his name a lot, but just watch him, that dude, he the truth. But Motown: Mm-hmm. JB: you gotta eat. Motown: I mean, I don't want to be like, I know I'll toot my own horn, but I was impressed with Washington's defense. Washington defense impressed me and the Saints defense impressed me. Those two goals means it's so impressive in so many areas because they showed so many things that they could do if they put it all together. And it's not that they're a sad team, they just haven't put it together yet and it's still early. And they played against some quality teams. That's the reason why I would say both of them, those two defense. mean, we can say the 49ers, because they did what they were supposed to do. But I didn't say a lot again, so I don't really, I think nobody can catch it. Everybody, every team scored at least ten points, right? JB: So right? Motown: Yeah, I think mostly every team scored at least 10 points. So none stood out. I guess those two stand out because I did get to see them play and JB: Mm-hmm. Motown: see what the end result was for those teams that could have lost on the last play of the game. yeah, those two teams. JB: What about you, Smoot? What what defensive player or defensive team impressed you the most week one? Smooth: Defensive player or defensive team player impress me. Well, the defense player impressed me. Shit. Motown: Yeah. JB: yeah. Motown: No, he died there. He Smooth: Mm. Motown: died there right now. JB: We can come back to him when you get back. Give him a second and see if it'll come back for it. Alright, we well Yeah, we can come back to it. Let's talk I know we talked about those things, man. What you thought about that fumble? Fumble or incomplete past? You know the play I'm talking about, I don't wanna get into too many details. Motown: That's so tricky because in a previous game earlier, I can't remember what game it was I was watching it and they used the same scenario JB: Bear. Motown: with the quarterback went back and it happened within the different game too. The quarterback JB: Mm-hmm. Motown: went back and they described it as JB: Yeah. Motown: if his arm goes back. My interpretation was when he said when his arm go back, he don't even have to come forward. It's an incomplete pass. That's what I got out of all of it, no matter how they put it because the ball, his hand was still going back and the ball slipped out his hand. He didn't even try to JB: Yeah. Motown: pass, it slipped out his hand and it was called an incomplete pass. So that game with the Saints, was like. Somebody told me today man, they're gonna call that plane consistently. yeah, because they think they messed it up like that. So they're gonna call it. JB: All right. with you. I think they I I with you a hundred percent. They that's what they're gonna do. Cause they don't wanna they don't want to come back and bite him in the ass. Cause you know they're gonna like Motown: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. JB: just like why didn't do this? Why didn't do that? 'Cause again they showed a play of I think they happened to Caleb I think last season or whatever he did they showed the exact same play they called Caleb's a fumble but they called Saints an incomplete pass. What's your thoughts on that play, Keith? Motown: Thank you. Smooth: what play that fumble play? incomplete. Man, they get a lot of stuff wrong nowadays, man. Even man, say bruh, I I don't know what to say about this shit, but they they know what they be doing. You know what I'm saying? Don't get me started on that. Don't get JB: Yeah. Motown: It's crazy. Smooth: me started on. They know what they be doing, bruh. You know what I'm saying? It shouldn't be a fumble. Yeah, they JB: They almost I see a lot Smooth: Almost given the problem. JB: of people they still got it out. The ref still got it out for the same song. They're gonna they're gonna find somewhere to spring. Smooth: Yeah, Motown: That's going on. I know Smooth: but no. Motown: that's going on. Smooth: But no. But back to your question with your defense, I'ma say the Bingo defense impressed me the most though. Motown: Come on in. Smooth: Yeah. The Bingo defense impressed me the most. I mean they they really Motown: What did say we do? What did you see? Smooth: did that. The front the front foe the f the the folk the boy next to them they was JB: Yeah. Smooth: getting in there. The front the tackles Motown: Do you get enough? Smooth: was getting in there. Yeah. The tackles was getting in there. I was shocked. Motown: Okay. Smooth: They came in from the middle. Pause, but they came in front of the middle, dog. Yeah, so yeah. Motown: That's what they've been missing too. Smooth: Mm-hmm. And then when you trying to go off on me by my Cowboys, I ain't talking about nobody who my quarterback is 13 and 2 against. Motown: This dude left off the screen come back and it's still on his brain to talk to what I said That's why we talking about the cowboy fan see you got to hit them low because they will not stop Johnny Johnny they will not stop and Smooth: That's right. Good. I I paused. I paused. I paused when I was trying to answer the question. I paused when I was trying to answer the question. Motown: I'll be waiting because I I'm gonna give another check We know we know we Smooth: You ain't got no blood check. Now thir thirteen and thirteen and two. Ain't no check. Ain't no check. Thirteen and two. Motown: know JB: Okay. That's Motown: who the Cowboys are just like you know Smooth: One, three, and two. Y'all got two wins against Motown: No body. Okay? JB: I gotta I gotta Smooth: that. Two wins against that. JB: Let's say say let's save that convers I got I got that conversation coming up for y'all. Let's save that one. 'Cause that's I know what I tried to save that one for last. I thought Troy was gonna be on here 'cause I know he had a a lot to say. Motown: We don't need Troy. We don't need Smooth: Mm-hmm. Motown: Troy. Not today. JB: I know, but you know, that's Mr. Controversial. I know he's saying something crazy. Let's let's let's jump on to back let's jump on quarterbacks, man. What y'all thoughts of just with just Justin Herbert? You feel Smooth: Well, JB: you think he's closer to being that elite quarterback? 'Cause with the new well he got the new offensive coordinator, Mike, Mike McDaniels from Motown: Yes. JB: so do you think it's I'm a I go first on this one. I don't think he have no excuse now because you got a hell of a offensive coordinator. Motown: Mm-hmm. JB: So he it's time for him. I know he had a rough game Monday, but it's time for him to really step it up if he wanna be with the big dog 'cause they I don't think he gets enough for criticism and he's supposed to been up there with the to me, up there with I guess the Josh Allen and all the the the Lamar, the Dax and everybody. Smooth: Yeah, he with he over there with her, but I over there with her. Motown: Yeah, just a moment. JB: Mm. Just nervous, yeah. Smooth: They call him they called him the if man. Motown: Why they call him the Smooth: That's what they call. That would be called. For real. For real. I ain't lying. Ain't lying. Motown: if man? What's if about him dog? JB: Yeah. Smooth: When they talk about him they say if he could if he could get a win in the playoffs, if he could do this, if he could do that, that's why they call him the if man. Motown: I X I X JB: Look, I want to hear it too. Smooth: Yeah. I'm just saying. Motown: I think that the man got a chance to climb the ladder. Like Johnny said, he was supposed to JB: So right, suppose Motown: There's a coordinator that's supposed to know quarterbacks and and that's what he got. Smooth: Yeah, you're right. Motown: So he should be able to because he got the skill set he has. I mean, my country is. You know, he seemed to be entry pro because he's always getting hurt singing like this. So he's missing games, but he's good. So I still think that they have the talent with Hampton, even with the number two with Quinn Justin. You know, I don't know they tighten this with gas. Where's the tighten? Gas? But I still think that they have it. think he can do it. I think he can climb it. I think he can climb it. I think he can. Because he's not really a, is he a turnover pro and quarterback? He pretty much secures the bar. He pretty much has bar security, JB: Yeah, I think he is. I don't see him with high high interceptions he said. again, I know I know week one, like you said, E early he was impressed Motown: Okay. JB: with the Arizona win over them. But he had a he didn't have a hell of a game. Two hundred yards, two hundred nine yards, one touchdown and one pick. But I'm not I don't think he's known for throwing picks like that. I think it's just that crunch may may have been crunch time. He he don't come he don't come he don't step up the big dogs, Justin Herbert. If man. Motown: Right. me Smooth: What it Yeah. JB: Yeah. If if he don't throw an interception or in the playoffs or if he Smooth: Yeah. JB: can come through. Smooth: He blew a whole lead. he blew a whole lead against Jaguars. And he ain't been right ever since. He had the game. Motown: I mean JB: yeah. Motown: you gonna put that all on him? Smooth: Man, y'all put it all on deck. Yeah. You fucking right. Motown: No, that only gets there because the way y'all talk to people and how y'all won't shut up about y'all team I'm not saying don't talk about your team, but you go Smooth: It's nothing y'all fans to talk to. Motown: too far and then you don't want to shut up That'd be the issue. Smooth: Two. Motown: That's why people got to do what they do to y'all because y'all express y'all said we know we know who the Cowboys are You know who the Cowboys are? Nobody, okay? JB: We can have a Smooth: Say dog. People meet a red skin fan. Say JB: whole s a whole show on the c on the cowboy. Smooth: Jake. Say Jay. People meet a red skin fan like once every five years. What the what the what the what the what the hell? Motown: But you realize it's a true one though. It's a true one. It's a true one. You heard me? Troy: you Smooth: that was a Dak Hader. JB: Hey yeah Hey yeah It was just talking about you just talking about you Smooth: That's my dog right there. The Dak Haders in the building. What's up? What's up, Dak hater? Motown: Hey, if you can't get on here, get Troy: What happened? Motown: off. Get off. All right. Smooth: Hold up, hold up, hold up, hold up. They were Troy: I'm home. I'm home. Smooth: talking about how Dak did good in the game. Troy: Man, let's talk about that defense and all that that you was talking. yeah. Our defense, our defense, but y'all did like y'all play like **** Smooth: There you go. Say, bruh, you're right. Motown: Yeah JB: yeah. Troy: Your defense played like shit. Hey, I ain't gonna take nothing away from that. You know, he handled his business. What? Y'all defense played like crap. Huh? All right. That's all that matters. Smooth: Say you're right. I said you're right, though, you're right. You're right. You're right. You're right, though. Motown: so it took trying to come in for it. all right. See, got that more trained. Smooth: Man, you get no respect. You only got two wings against us. JB: So so Troy, you welcome to the show, man. so you saying it's so for first Motown: I'm a catcher. JB: time I just wanna you know, I g you know, we we l we live. So the first time you saying it it wasn't Dak fault? Troy: No, it wasn't that, it was that defense. JB: I'm not just gonna get it on record. Smooth: my goodness. Yeah, I want to Motown: You Troy: It was that defense. Smooth: thank you, brother. Thank you, though. Thank you though. Troy: Hey, that defense ain't do nothing for me. Smooth: You do. JB: Nothing at all. So you saying the defense Smooth: I'm the I thank you for that though. JB: look like last year, that what you're trying to say, Troy? They no improvement? Smooth: Good night. Troy: yeah, they say, bruh. Smooth: Good night. Troy: Listen, I saw a clip where they was showing one of the running, the Smooth: Yeah, Troy: linebackers. Man, that boy was, man, he was like, he was scared to make a tackle. He let your boy run for the touchdowns. was like, boy, that's trash, Smooth: Yeah. Motown: You. Troy: man. Come on. Smooth: Yeah, slow down, he's slow down. You see him slow down? JB: Right. Troy: He slowed down, looked like he was trotting. Looked like he had a turkey trot. Like that boy ain't want no part to that. JB: Okay. And then Motown: I'm sorry. Smooth: I seen one I'm so down. You just let go in. You let run in. JB: Think I think that series that Troy talking about, they the Giants ran the same play three times. Smooth: ran the same plate. Yeah. It ran the same plate three times in a row. Yeah. Dude was just jogging on the I Troy: on the outside going left side and he won no part of. Motown: one. Smooth: I seen it. I seen it too. I seen it. I seen it. Barham, the rookie. Motown: And we know you saw it. We know, we know. JB: So easy. Smooth: Number fifty five. JB: So he so yeah you say you he's seen this, so Smooth: That's it. JB: he's trying to say he had Rembrandt. Smooth: He was like fuck it. He was like fuck it. Troy: Amen. But it's okay, bro. Y'all still them boys. JB: Yeah. Smooth: Yeah, they wrong. Motown: Buck them up, T. Buck them up. JB: Smooth let them. Smooth. No, this is the first week. Smooth: Ain't no T over the Yacht Club. Ain't no buying me down, man. I'm a stay cowboy forever. You know that. T know that. Motown: That's wild, boy, that's the same reason why. Troy: And that's the problem. Not Smooth: You know that too. You know that too. They know that too. Never mind down. I always got something to say. Troy: wrong to our Cowboys fans. Y'all terrible. Hey, y'all worse than the Trump, y'all worse than the mega people, bruh. Smooth: Man, no, we like roaches. We ain't going nowhere. Motown: For real, dawg, you ain't lying. Troy: Y'all worse than Mega, bruh. Hey, y'all worse than Mega, son. Hey. Motown: Boy, you hitting it on the head today, dawg, for real. You ain't lying. You ain't lying. Smooth: Say brother. Ain't got enough Washington fans to be talking. Ain't got enough Washington fans. I don't even hear what you're saying over there. Troy: Hey, listen, yeah, we should get Jerry Jones to run for president Motown: I'm just not by myself. Troy: and I guarantee you he'll win. Motown: I'm just not by myself, hear me? I'm just by myself. Only nobody. Smooth: They'll say they had to change their name, they still relevant. They weren't shit when they were the Redskins, Troy: Adda! Smooth: they ain't shit not. That what you gotta say? Hey T, you know Eric Yamane win the Super Bowl since Troy: So you'll be wrapping out, Smooth: nineteen ninety one? Motown: Everybody know that man. I don't be bragging about my room. Troy: Sit bro, you can't talk in there. Y'all was back in what? Y'all was like two Smooth: Everybody don't Troy: years prior? Sit bro, come on. Come on. Cowboys can't talk neither, Y'all can't talk neither. Smooth: know that. Everybody don't know that. Everybody don't know that. Our last one and 95. Take, say, T. Ask them when the last Super Bowl. Motown: I only put up. JB: So job, Bob. Smooth: Ask them when they didn't win the last Super Bowl. Troy: Listen, I was in middle school probably when they did it and John was about to in high school. Eric was shit on a job marriage and everything else. So, come on, man. Motown: That's Smooth: Ha ha ha ha Motown: But the same thing with Dallas, a couple years after that. So it's the same thing. It's same thing. Both my arms means Troy: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Smooth: No, Nine and one? Nine and one? Motown: they're all bad. I don't brag about my arms. That's the thing, I Smooth: Nine and one. Motown: don't brag. Smooth: Well I you can't 'cause Motown: 91. Smooth: it's only three it's only three Super Bowls. You can't brag. Motown: Some people have none. Smooth: We got five. You can't break, you got three. Troy: But listen, you can't keep on calling five when that, how long ago that was? That was 30 years ago. JB: Troy, so you're trying to wait. Hold Smooth: Don't matter. It's in a book. JB: on, wait, wait, wait. Smooth: It's in a book. JB: But Troy, he's trying to say the last time the cowboys Smooth: It's in the book. It's in the book. JB: last cow time cowboys did sudden, Keith was walking across the stage the next year. That was he trying to say of to graduate from high school. Troy: Yeah, definitely. Smooth: Yeah. Yeah, I will graduate. Troy: And Eric was married and with kids, you know what saying, back in the days. JB: So so how are you saying how Motown: There you go. JB: are you saying Eric was? Smooth: Ever had grandkids. Ever had a grandkid when he had him. Troy: The error was probably 25, 27. Smooth: Everett had a grandkid when he had him. Eric was a granddaddy when he had his kid. Did you have a kid when you Troy: He was out there with Arkmunk. He was out there playing Motown: Don't play with our mug boy. Troy: with Lint's mind and shit. Motown: Don't play with our mug boy. Don't you do that. JB: So So Troy, you you did your homework 'cause I know last time you know who aug monk was, you did your homework in in Motown: Thank Troy: Man, listen, Motown: you. Smooth: Ha ha. Troy: that dude, don't know nothing about Arkmong. You know why? Cause I was like stealing diapers, bruh. Motown: Okay. JB: So you saying you never saw no when they show like the greats, they never show Wash Washington Smooth: well. JB: Redskins highlights. Troy: Man, no, I don't remember none of that. Only person I know is Doug Williams, okay? JB: You don't know about the posse or nobody. Troy: Nobody. Motown: Who is on Smooth: No by no way. Motown: the ball to the posse? Troy: Again, I don't know nothing about that dude, Smooth: Nah, you Motown: but. Smooth: don't know them, dude. Troy: Hey, listen E, because they was out there with you, don't mean I know who that is. Smooth: He sitting out there with you. He said he was out there with you. He'll play with him. Motown: Well, let me say this you know me so if they were doctor JB: You got you. Motown: with me you should know them too You know me so if they was out there with me you supposed to know them You know your business, bro. You know your business You don't your business Troy: I knew you when I met you, was about 45 when I met you. I was only 21. Motown: Get on your business. Troy: You heard what I said? When I met you, you was 45. I was 21. I'm just saying, Motown: And what does that mean? What does that mean? What do you say? Troy: how am I know that? That's all I'm saying. Smooth: And that does stupid. JB: So you trying to say he was at the first Washington Redskins game. That was you trying to say. He was a scalp. Troy: That's all I'm saying, bruh. He probably was. What's y'all theme song? Hell... Motown: Hell to the rescue. Hell, ODC fight. Smooth: They made that about two hundred years ago. JB: Let's say some let's say some of this let's Troy: I'm just saying, bruh. JB: say some of this for the end. let's let's talk about one of I know me and Troy got this one real heated at the B before the season started. What y'all thoughts on the Cleveland quarterback situation with Deshaun Watson and Shador? did Cleveland make the right decision? Smooth: Go ahead, Troy. Go ahead, Charlie. You just came off. Troy: Not at all. Well, I'm not going to say that was the first game, but they got, they got blew out, yo. You know what I'm saying? And then I, I still don't think, you know what saying? the show on that dude, Bert, now don't think it's, you know, I think it's time for him to go. But again, he still got a lot of money on books. So they got, they're going to play that, you know I'm saying? For the first couple of weeks, but he got a lot of money on the books. Motown: Okay. Okay. JB: Yeah. I believe that's true. And also you gotta look at who he played against, man. Jags ain't no s no pushover. Troy: Say bro, I ain't think Jacksonville was gonna come out slinging like that. JB: True. Defense. Well Smooth: You're right. JB: defense, they always defense. and also Low what's his name? the quarterback, he he's another one that should be up Motown: North. JB: there soon, next couple Smooth: California. JB: of years. Sunshine, I guess they call him. But yeah, Smooth: Well's that. JB: I thought I thought he number wise, let me see I got the stats up here. Two hundred five yards, one touchdown, one interceptions. he had his up and downs. but I would I own this going by what I saw in in preseason. They was hyping it up. They vote was even but Deshaun I guess got that break. But again, like you say, money matters. But I give him probably I think they're gonna g I think he's Troy: Yeah, definitely. JB: gonna be out of the the starting squad by by game five. I think they just wanna prove they just want him to Troy: Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. I'm, I'm hoping by the time they come to New Orleans, he out. JB: He just one way his just one way his That's all Smooth: Right. I hope so too. JB: it is. Motown: Now what if we have two Troy: I want two! Smooth: Yeah. Motown: or three grows? Troy: Huh? Motown: No, hon. I say what if you have a superb two or three games? Then what? JB: That's that's that was my next question after everybody answered. Troy: But Smooth: He ain't. He's scared to use his arm. He's scared to use his arm. He's scared to use. Troy: that's okay. You know what saying? But if he struggled, if he struggled for the next four, he out. JB: But like what he said though, what if he have a nice three or four games in a row? Then what they then Smooth: He not. Troy: but Smooth: He not. Troy: you gotta come take your point. Smooth: He not. Cause he's scared to use his arm. He keeps dumping it off. He don't want to throw it downfield. He throw it downfield when he got to. He scared to throw the ball. He don't want he don't want to throw it in the sept. He don't want to throw an intercept so bad. He scared Troy: But then he also he can run too. It's not like he can't run. Smooth: to throw that bitch downfield. That's what you see. Troy: Man, he gotta play ball, man. He can't be scared. He gotta play ball. Smooth: He gonna Motown: He got activated. Man, that's his first Smooth: throw that thing. Motown: game in what, two years? JB: Yeah, I'm I'm I'm Smooth: Yeah. Troy: Yeah. JB: with E man. I think Motown: Come on, Come on, la. JB: I think like he said he rusty and also man like we I'm gonna bring it up later, but bro this this this new preseason shit killing things man. These these players have no kind of chemistry or anything. Motown: Yes, Smooth: But wait, he can't be rusted. He played preseason. Motown: You know, Smooth: He played preseason. Troy: But he didn't feel right. Motown: you know, JB: But you know, preven yeah, it it's a couple of places. Motown: there's not the same Smooth: Enough, he paid the whole half. Troy: You play a series or two. You play a series Smooth: But then he played the second half the second game. JB: Yeah, yeah, seriously. That's not a Troy: or two. Motown: preseason is. Smooth: He played one half and he played another half. That's a whole game told it together. JB: Yeah, that's Troy: That's not enough. That's not enough. JB: God man, that's that's not enough game. Motown: There's still nothing small, JB: That's like that's like in a jammeria of a trim. No, that's practice is a whole different practice is a whole different a whole different definitely thing. Motown: nothing, there's nothing. Smooth: That's not enough plus practice and joint practice. No, I'm saying that's not enough plus practice Motown: No. Smooth: and joint practice. And then you have joint practice too. Motown: No. No. I'm gonna get you more than that. I'm gonna get you something that's new thinking about. Troy: That's that. But they're not hitting the quarterback in during practice. So yeah, man, I. JB: It's not the same, man. Nobody's getting hit. Yeah. Smooth: Look. Plus plus he had the advantage. Look, plus he wait, wait, wait. Plus he had the advantage 'cause JB: One at a time, one at a time. Smooth: he always wait, bro, let me say this. Let me say this. He had the advantage because he always was practicing with the first team instead of Shador. And Shador was still doing better than him. What you mean? Troy: That's not true. Smooth: That that means something. Man, hold up. Starters and backups don't mean JB: Yeah, it it wasn't it was back and forth. It was back and forth. Smooth: nothing. Starters starters starters are better than the backups. Troy: But both of them was taking first team reps. JB: Yeah, they both was doing first team reps. Me and Troy had plenty of arguments about this. They both was doing first team reps. Smooth: Man, when sh man, when Shador started, Troy: Yeah. Smooth: when Shador started the preseason, he played with the backups, not the starters. When he started his game, it was backups. Y'all lying? JB: No, we said you said no talking about what you said. You said that they w that Shador wasn't getting first reps. He was getting first reps. Smooth: He didn't never play with the starter. He never played with the starter. He never, he never played with the starter. I'm talking about all of it. I said, listen, I said joint practice too. I said joint practice too. Huh? We see that he didn't play with the starter. Game time matters though, right? Troy: That was that was the that was this rookie year. That was last year. JB: No, you're talking about the game. We're talking about practice. You're talking about a whole different thing. You talking about the game of starters. In preseason, no, no. In practice, he was playing with the starters. Now in now, you can pull a tape up. You can pull the tape up. He was playing with starters in pre in in practice. I'm not talking about game time. I'm talking about practice. That's what me and Troy talking about. Motown: I still say, I still say it doesn't matter. I say it's really bad. Troy: to. JB: I understand that part, but and also going with number one or also going number one or two. Smooth: Game time don't matter. What's wait, what what's more important? Playing better in the preseason or playing in in practice? Troy: We have a lot of. JB: First off, first off, first off, Cleveland had no starters playing besides the quarterbacks and they was trying to compare themselves since who was gonna be number one. Go check the stats. Cleveland didn't have no number ones playing, just like any other team. So he was playing with twos or either way. Smooth: Your door didn't play with the number one, though. Watch him play with the number one. JB: He was playing with number twos. No, Wats was playing with number twos. Look at the video. Smooth: And he did better with the number twos. He knows the number twos. Think about it. He he JB: So the ball player would choose. Smooth: practiced with the number twos the most. Shadow practiced with the number twos the most. He be he be with the number twos the most. Shadow be with the number, I mean, Watson be with the number ones. Was it don't never be with the number twos? Cause he was already the starter. Motown: Listen for a second. If he played with the number 1s, JB: No, he's talking about Motown: everything with the number 2s, it doesn't really matter because practice and real game time is different. And then you get the butterfly with the mic mode, then you get the lights with the camera Smooth: They said dude, talent is different. The talent is different though. The talent is different. What you mean? Motown: light coming on. It's different smooth, you know it's not the same as Come on, bro. Smooth: So wait. So that means if my start quarterback go down, my back I'm supposed to do as my starter do. That don't no. So that don't make no sense. Motown: I'm not disagreeing with you about he knows the number two is better than the number I'm not disagreeing with that. What I'm saying is, said, I'm not disagreeing with that. I'm not disagreeing, Smooth: So that means that number ones and number twos make a difference. What you talking about? Number one and number two make a difference. Say that's all I'm saying though, bruh. Motown: bro. You're not even listening. You're talking so much, you're not even listening. I just said several times, I'm not disagreeing with you. I said I'm not disagreeing with you. JB: Right. Smooth: What do you mean? All I'm saying is the door don't practice with the number one more than him. I say he don't practice more than him. Motown: Bro. I'm trying to sing. JB: In preseason, he did. In preseason, there was equal. Look at the stats. Pull up the video. Play with in preseason and practice. I'm not talking about game time. I'm not talking about game time. Smooth. You talking about games. I'm talking about practice, like AIC. Because you said you just I don't think you listen to what we saying. We we talking you said earlier that Shador was in he was getting practice in practice with number twos. And Troy said no. Motown: It was. Thank you. Smooth: No, they wasn't. I know I watched the game. The man didn't play with the number one. Why you know some bankers? JB: He was getting the same amount of reps with number ones. And he was. Now when the game came, what you practice for the sue gonna be the number one quarterback. That's why Watson had the number one. But in practice, they both was getting their reps with them on ones. Look at the video. It's been all on, that's all they've been talking about. Smooth: Yeah, I and I said yeah. I said yeah, but I said he got more practice with the number two than the ones. I dare say yeah. JB: In the game time. In game time. Yeah, 'cause this Nah, he didn't No, it wasn't, man. Smooth: No, I'm talking about practice too. Cause Watson was Watson thought always thought No, Troy: No. Smooth: I'm I no, listen to me. I said he got more than than than Shador in practice. That's all I said. He got more of the ones because he always was gonna Motown: you Smooth: be the starter. You understand what I'm saying? But I said when when Shador started his his preseason game, he didn't play with the ones. I want to see him with the ones too. JB: I don't agree with that one. Smooth: You understand? I wanna see both of the quarterback with the ones. Motown: This is what I would say about. Smooth: Listen to me. I wanna see both of the quarterback with the ones, then I can really see what's happening. In a game situation. You understand what I'm saying? Playing against us because practice, you're not JB: So you're not gonna see the ones. You're not gonna see the ones, but they're not gonna they're not gonna see the ones. Smooth: hitting nobody. You're not hitting nobody in practice. Everybody's gonna look good. Everybody's gonna look good. Motown: That's my point I was trying to make about. JB: We said that. Motown: But it's not the same when you talk about Red Seasons. So it goes back to me saying the man on the plate one game and JB: Live on seven. Motown: he played one game in two years. How are you going to judge him on that? He hasn't even had the lights from the bright lights. He ain't so much that he haven't had, he ain't used to that he got to get activated to. It's a lot. It's not just what Lee seen. It's a lot more. So he need two or three games at least to get where he need to see where he at. He can't just figure out in no one game. Troy: That's why I say game five five That's why I say game five he gonna see that's when you gonna really see the post-deafening JB: I agree. Motown: You know Troy: Yeah, most definitely. Without a doubt. Smooth: They made the right choice by letting him be starter. Cause he he he making the money. You gotta go with your investment. You know what I'm saying? I would've I would've started him too. Motown: There were reasons to do it, Smooth: I'd rather go with the the the the veteran first than go with the young guy. You know what I'm saying? That's what I'd rather do. Motown: Point. Point. Point. JB: think they you know I know the money is is guaranteed but I think they set him up a failure. They want him to they want him to be like, okay, we it's a money thing, but we want you to also to take these L so we can't say it's just a money thing. I think it's one of those politics Motown: But you know, did you know the contract that they tied to him to the 2030? Smooth: Yeah, we was talking about that, Motown: Yeah, he's contract when his contract is Yeah Troy: That can do what it was like a what it was. It was like five years though, right? Five years, 230. Motown: Listen, no, he signed in 2022 He got two years on his contract he signed the contract that money hits the cap, but it's no salary he gets a 16 Troy: Yeah. Motown: million dollar bonus in one year and then he gets a 20 He's a 25 51 million bonus in the second year in 30 and that's not a surprise to the cap, but that's his salary And then he's not on that. He's not gonna have another salary for two years, but he's still gonna get paid So they really tied into this guy for at least another three four years whether he plays or not And that's big bunny yeah Troy: Right. And that's going to just be some day money. Smooth: Where is it? Troy: And if they get rid of him, it's going to be day money. So why not play him, you know what saying, just to see exactly what's going to happen. Right. That was definitely. Motown: $1 million at one time to hit the cap. What? Listen, JB: I agree. I agree. Motown: $51 million to hit the cap at one time? That's a lot, Like $16 million to $20 million. Troy: Hey, hey, and that's where I see where I should do it now playing. Motown: $51 million hit? That's a big hit on your cap when your cap is what? $300 million? What would the cap be now? Troy: Bye. Motown: That's a big hit. JB: Okay. I think either way he won't be finishing the season as a starting quarterback, my opinion. Hey, so let's let's move on to this next one. Yeah, they they won't because I'm surprised like like everybody else surprised what he said about the city and the fans, I'm surprised that he even in the starting line. Smooth: Hell no, the crowd ain't gonna let it. Motown: Okay. Smooth: They say they they say their ticket sales their ticket sales went down when they did that. They say they you could go and get a ticket for like ten dollars or something. JB: Yeah, 'cause that was Motown: Okay. Troy: Listen bro, the Ainties, the Ainties Smooth: I ain't lying. I ain't lying, dog. Troy: love Sudorsan. Smooth: Yeah, they want your door to play they can say they they could get they Troy: The shit that ain't tea? Yeah, most definitely. Smooth: could get a ticket for like ten dollars or something over there right now. JB: Damn. Get a full Smooth: That's how bad it is. JB: tank of g get a full tank of gas, get get a seat seats for free. Smooth: It's a a male a mill at McDonald costs more than they ticket. Damn, that's more than the Cleveland ticket. You JB: Yeah. Smooth: ball it. You ball it out chip. JB: I think. Motown: Come on, JB: supersized you might say smooth, you supersized you might be able to go in the locker room with the team. Sure. Smooth: I bought to Motown: Come Smooth: tell you. Nigga be safe with the owner. Motown: on. JB: Say man, let's let's move to this next topic I saved for y'all for last man. is this the year is this the Cowboys year or not? Motown: No. JB: Troy's last one and come on, Troy. Let's go with you. Smooth: I don't know after after the first week. After this first week, I don't know. Troy: What I know, ain't going nowhere. They might make the playoffs, but that's it. But that's it. Smooth: You know he's gonna say no, no. Okay, I'll take JB: So you don't Motown: you Reason why, Smooth: that. I'll take that from you. Motown: y'all defense first of JB: Colossus, Motown: all is a problem. And then y'all have injuries on JB: Colossus. Motown: the defense. So that makes it another problem. Y'all already got, y'all lost two players over shown and somebody else. So I say no because your defense is the issue. Then y'all study losing players on defense. No. Smooth: you talking about Hooker. Hooker heard his forearm. Motown: hooker, JB: Yeah. Motown: yeah was hooker. Thank you. Yeah, I see no... Smooth: Yeah. We got locked, but lock all right. Lock not bad. He just kind of scared that he was nervous his first first game. Troy: yeah, hold up smooth, you was talking about your boy number 13, right? What's his name? JB: down not is it down? yeah, down. Smooth: You dig play good. You say that right? Troy: What he did? But I saw he do nothing. Motown: you Smooth: What? Yeah, see that hit on the quarterback pressing set? They're pressing him? Go look it up. To me. No. Troy: What what one play one play? Smooth: You were like you gave up. Troy: Listen hey Motown: you Troy: Malik neighbors it was Helen this business in their running back man listen y'all had no hands Smooth: I run the backhand of this business too. What you mean? Troy: He did all right, but I'm just saying, your offense wasn't a problem. It was your defense. Again. Smooth: My running back running running and catch. What you mean, Office with a problem? They kept the office off the pickup if you really watch the game. Troy: Hey, y'all Motown: Pray for them. Troy: are Cowboys fans worse than Mega, bro. I swear. Y'all are than Mega. Y'all are worse than Mega, y'all are worse than Mega, son. Y'all are worse than Mega. Smooth: Talk about that. I ain't say that I ain't say that wrong. That's it's a wrong thing. That's it's a wrong Motown: I really truly agree man. I'm serious bro. Just get some good dirt. Smooth: I understand you hate, but I ain't got wrong about my team. Troy: Hey, look, they're gonna argue to death about their team. Look, their team ain't doing nothing in 30 years. Motown: Thanks. Smooth: How you gonna argue you ain't got no team? How you gonna argue? When when the last time you won a championship? When the last time y'all won a championship? wait. wait. Troy: But y'all been arguing for 30 years that y'all on Boas. For 30 years, bro. Green Motown: I ain't wanna hit him with it. I ain't wanna hit him with it. I ain't wanna hit him it. I ain't wanna hit him with it. I ain't wanna hit with it. Troy: Bay Packers, we won before y'all did. We won, not recently, we won right after the Sinks. But you knew that Smooth: or not greenly packed. Not greenly packed. Troy: was my team for years, bro. Come on. JB: I give that. Troy: That was my team for years, man. Come on Smooth: Not leave a bad. Troy: now. Don't do that. Don't do that. Don't do that. But again. Yeah. Y'all been talking about y'all gonna win another championship for 30 years y'all ain't win nothing yet. So y'all ain't gonna win no more. Y'all worse than mega bruh. Hey, Smooth: Y'all got love. L love gonna turn to hate. That love gonna turn to hate. Motown: Thank Troy: if Jerry say we gonna go storm the White House, all y'all Smooth: That love gonna turn the heat, bruh. It's Troy: gone. Smooth: gonna be all right, bruh. Wipe your panties up. It'll be all right. Troy: If Jerry said walk on water, y'all gonna try to walk on water. Y'all is terrible, bruh. Y'all worse than Megabr. Smooth: More your pants up. It'll be all right, dog. It'll be all right, dog. Motown: Boom. JB: So real talk. Smooth: You alright. JB: Real talk, Smooth. So you I meant so you s you think the defense gonna get better? I know it's game one. You think the defense's Smooth: Yeah. JB: gonna improve or are you shaky with it? Smooth: No, they're gonna get better. Motown: No. Smooth: They won't get better. Motown: No, same, all your same way. All your thing to say. JB: So what Smooth: See Mr Mr. Thirteen and Two over there trying to JB: so what was E actually Smooth: talk over there. I don't know about you, Mr. Thirteen and Two. Why you trying to talk? JB: Say E let me ask you this. Say Eric, what may ask you this? What's your thoughts? What what was your Motown: Hey, you. JB: thoughts on Jason Jason Jason Dart's on Smooth: Talk about your team. Don't talk don't talk about my team. Motown: He asked me a question, but let me ask you question. Which is, AJ? JB: hold on. What what's your thoughts on Dart Jason Dart's performance? Motown: Jackson Dart, Yeah, he. JB: Giants quarterback. Motown: He showed me some maturity but from what he was playing last year and what I seen in that one game, he me some maturity. listening to his coaches telling them what to do or not to do as far as security. So listening and showing in his place. I was impressed with his play yesterday. I was I was impressed. JB: Same, yeah. Just Dangro. Motown: I mean, I guess that... Troy: I don't think he did bad. I don't think he did bad. They can tighten up that defense a little more, but other than that, it was cool. JB: I I think before I get you too smooth, I think that hallball makes a Smooth: They good. JB: big difference for that team, man. Troy: Yeah, like he Motown: Yes. Troy: a play caller, man. Definitely. Smooth: He know JB: It Smooth: how to he learn how to manage the game. Motown: his presence to them to room. JB: Exactly. Smooth: Yes there. He was you could you could tell he listened to the coach because he was sliding. JB: Mm-hmm. It was a couple of phases I thought like Motown: And yesterday, I mean, they just looked so, so, they looked so in tune and happy to play for hardball, They was like generally, JB: Exactly. Motown: and you could see them like, wow, they need change the culture quickly over there. They looked like they really ready to play for that culture. JB: Right. Hey Smo Smoot, I got a question for you. how how Odell did? On this example. Troy: I can't do shit! Motown: Wait, that's number two or the number three? That's the number three? That's the number three? Troy: Man, listen, I don't think my dog got in the game, but he ain't get no balls, bruh. Motown: I wonder why, Troy. Smooth: We can jump back. JB: I'm I'm just No, Odell I was asking Smooth. No. Troy: Hey, I I must call my dog number four. JB: I was asking Smooth. hold on hold on, Troy, hold on, Troy. I said how did Odell do? Odell Beckham. Odell Beckham. Smooth: Wait, you broke up. they're back? JB: I was saying how did old back yeah, how did he do? Smooth: He did good for being a no-show. JB: Yeah. Troy: He get no balls, but he was out there though. He was on the field. Hey, it don't matter. Hey, guess what? It's only week one. It's only week one. Smooth: Yeah, yeah. They use him as a decoy. Yeah, he he played though. He played. He got the duck. He got the duck. Motown: He made the team, He made the team, JB: So so smooth So smooth. He had more playing Smooth: He got the duck though. JB: time. You're talking about warm he did more in warm ups than he did in the game. That's what you're saying. Smooth: Yeah. Yes. He got more squad than Walmart than a game. Troy: Say Johnny, bro, you done bad for that thing. JB: No, no, since we're on a tiny No Troy: Hey, you done bad for that dog. Motown: Charlie, made the team, doll. He didn't make the team, He made the team. Smooth: But it's super though, bruh. Troy: Yeah, listen, listen. JB: No. I'm just saying we talk about tonight. Smooth: We all root for the man. Troy: You know that's my dog. JB: Yeah, we we wanna see up, we wanna see a comeback. Smooth: I'm root for I'm root for Odell. Motown: I Smooth: I I like O'Death. Troy: Man Johnny I hate him bruh. JB: No, but I'm just saying 'cause it it was sometimes Smooth: Yeah. Motown: Say it, Brian. JB: in the game. I was working on the show, so I'm trying I didn't see, I wasn't I probably missed Odell. So I was asking y'all cause I didn't see no highlights. Troy: My dog, you ain't miss nothing. You ain't miss nothing. You ain't miss nothing. But it's only week one. JB: Okay, Smooth: That's right, we won. JB: so I didn't miss anything. I saw cutting up in practi in warm ups. I know I Motown: Thanks Smooth: I caught some cutting up with practice. JB: I said no, that's cool. So then he was insane. Motown: I'm just having a cut off the practice. Troy: Hey. Motown: So. Troy: He was cutting up. He was. My dog got the blonde hair back. Just wait. Just wait. It's only week one. JB: He did contribute though, Charles. See, you he did contribute, but remember that play that he went across the middle and the old boy caught the touchdown? That was Paul S. Odell. Troy: Yeah, cause guess what? They know what he was gonna do. You know what saying? They know. Cowboys was scared. Motown: Thank you. Smooth: If we say so. Troy: That's what it was. We won. We won, baby. Just wait. We got 17 more. We got 17 more. We are Smooth: That's right. That's what I'm saying. We won. Wait the we two come. JB: Right. Right. Smooth: We two. Troy: coming. We are going. Motown: Hmm. Match up. Troy: Y'all going fishing with who they play. Motown: No, it's honestly around. Troy: No, I'm talking about who the cowboys play. Motown: I JB: A division game right smooth. I know I think it's a division game, if not mistaken, but Right. saying who on who Motown: No, we play guys with three. JB: who the cow who do cowboys play next? Smooth: Eric. JB: Or skin is Motown: You have players in week two? I thought it was week three. Hold on, see that's another lost Smooth: No, week two. We play Ravens week three. Motown: VO. That's another lost JB: Yeah. Motown: VO. Sorry. Smooth: I know you Troy: Hey, Smooth: wish. You you trying to get the third win. Troy: Eric, you need to make that phone call, bruh. Smooth: You trying to get number three. You trying to get number three win. We going for 14 though. Motown: I'm not even worried about no past. Smooth: We go on for the four. Motown: I'm talking about the present right here right now. I ain't talking about no last yesteryear shit. hear me? Smooth: Every year, that's every year we talking about. Y'all couldn't even beat Cooper Rush. I couldn't even be Cooper Rest. Troy: man, this band, listen bro, mega, Smooth: How could he be cool? Make y'all damn y'all be that. Troy: look. Motown: talking about. What did y'all do that you Smooth: Talk it back. Motown: got me on that smack? What happened with y'all there? What y'all that hold? Smooth: What? What? Troy: He must have been watching something else. Motown: I had. JB: He was watching. Troy: He was watching a game from last year. I'm talking about you, Smooth. You must have been talking about a game from last year. Because you couldn't have been watching what we was watching. Smooth: area. Motown: Okay. Smooth: Amen. I I don't even know what he said. He irrelevant. Troy: Y'all fuckin' terrible, bruh. I'm just sayin', bruh. But y'all be Motown: you Smooth: We lost by eight pranks, man. We lost by eight price, man. Green Bay, didn't didn't Troy: thinkin' like y'all like that team. Why? But it don't matter, y'all lost. 8-5 and 8-5-1 and 2 is all the same, you lost. Motown: And the bad thing about it is they Smooth: Green Bay lost? Didn't Green Bay lose? Didn't you lose who? Motown: the Bears on national TV to the Bears on national. Troy: Hey! Listen! JB: Yeah, you know. One at a time, fellas, one at a time. Can't hear y'all, can't hear y'all. Motown: get embarrassed on national TV, bro. They want to be on TV so much they get embarrassed so much, so many times. Because they want to be on TV. That's me the cowgirl. Look it up. Look it up. They got me embarrassed. Just losing. Smooth: Bears at three o'clock, shut up. Y'all got a bears at three. Shut up. Motown: It's the same, Say bruh. You all have a talented team. I hope you all get it together. Smooth: Say Pat, it might be a shame for y'all to have an embarrass embarrassing owner Motown: you Smooth: kick him out the knee, change the name, and all this, and still be sad. Can't beat the Cowboys yet. Giants just did it. What y'all gonna do? Motown: Hmm. Troy: But look, Eric, you know what that's saying? JB: Stop. Troy: But you know a Cowboys fan, bro, like they worse than mega. Again, I'm gonna keep on saying that, right? Motown: And I'll agree with you every time. Troy: Listen, they JB: It is one. Troy: gonna always think they're that top tier team, but guess what? JB: No, everything. Troy: They still, you know what saying? You ain't winning 35 years, but you gonna still every year, y'all gonna win. So I don't know, bro. Motown: Correct. Smooth: I thought it's for the reputation. That's what I thought. I don't I thought. Troy: No, boy, y'all die hard. Listen, but sometimes, like even Saints fans know, even Saints fans know, listen, this ain't gonna be our year this year. But y'all think every year is y'all year. And for 35 years, it hasn't been y'all year. Motown: Okay. Smooth: Till we have a playoff team, bruh. Till we have a playoff team, bruh. That's why. 'Cause they be having a playoff team. What you mean? They're a playoff team. You said it yourself, they're a playoff team. You you Motown: Thank you. Troy: All paper, all paper, huh? All paper, all paper, all paper. Smooth: said it yourself when you playoff team. You said it yourself. Then you so you ain't Troy: On paper. On paper. Smooth: saying we made the playoffs this year? So wait. He didn't say we'll make the playoff this year. JB: All right, man, let's do this. E, you got the last word on this one. What your thoughts was on the cowboy season, then we're gonna go to the next one. Well, I love this defense. Motown: So what this season right now? JB: No? Yeah, 'cause I didn't get a chance to your your your answer. I look, man. I I've said it before and I'll Motown: I've seen it before and I see it look. JB: say look. Dallas Cowboys this season is a challenge to team all three. But they're gonna be the same way all the years. they're gonna look the same. It's gonna be nothing different. All things gonna be different is the colour side. Okay. No I care what you say about the cowboys. Motown: is a team on the big But they're going to be the same way. They're going look the same. There's going be nothing different. The thing that's be different is the coconut side. Okay? No Super Bowl. No Super Smooth: Yeah, Brad. Nobody care what you say about the cowboy. JB: No Super Bowl. I promise you no Super Bowl. I'm my Motown: Bowl. I promise you no Super Bowl. Okay? JB: opinion. Not just I know you said the only thing different's gonna be on the is the coach on the sideline and you can't forget those memes too. I'm pretty sure they have some new memes. So that's gonna be another thing. All right, man. We on to this next quarterback. Man, what what y'all thoughts was Motown: Okay. JB: what y'all think Patrick Mahomes is back by them adding that book giving that boy a running game. I know we talked about it earlier, but Troy he wasn't on here. They get that boy a running game. Smooth: I'll take it back here. JB: I'll take it back, yeah. Troy: Man, listen. He got a running back. JB: Man, listen. He got a running back. Smooth: He couldn't do it. JB: He climbed it down. Said bro, that's all right. That's what he needs. Yeah, that's that's what I'm talking about. Just to take just to take a little pressure off of him. Come on, man. Yeah. Yeah, like he ran it too Smooth: That's why they ran it so much. Troy: Said, bro, that's all what he need. That's what he need. Just to take a little pressure off of him. Come on, Yeah, like he gonna be straight. Smooth: They ran it too much. JB: much. Hey, it did it to take the win because they had he he hit he threw it when he Smooth: Eight in a row? JB: needed to, I to say. Eight in a row. Man, if it's you can't stop it, keep going. Why stop? Troy: If it's working, if it's working, Smooth: Nobody gives it. Motown: you Troy: don't stop nothing that's working. Smooth: That but look, JB: Y on stop Smooth: but when he but when he stayed in the pocket, he went throwing the two accurate. JB: was broken. It was not broken. Keep going with it. But I think I think they I think that boy got a running game. I think Motown: You really have to. JB: this he bought they about to make some noise. And and again, he came back early and Smooth: What you mean? Somebody gotta catch the ball. JB: he still got time. Like I said, it's only week one. I'm pretty sure when they needed him to throw, he gon gonna throw when he needs to. That's kinda like when Peyton Manning came back to the to the Broncos. He they Motown: They was running so good, he didn't have to. They was running, was, man, it was equal. Smooth: You can't run all day, Brad. You gotta pass the ball. JB: w they did they they learned they relied on that running game until they needed Peyton to throw in that bowl. But listen, this is the thing. Troy: But listen, this is the thing. Smooth: And when they threw it, they throw quick, quick, fast. JB: They go quick, quick, fast. Mm-hmm. They too small out goes with it. I think I think I think this is the same for the Smooth: They threw swung out mostly. They threw swung out mostly. Troy: But this is the thing for me. JB: meeting. Long as they ain't putting eight men in the box, why not run the Troy: Long as they ain't putting 8 million in the box, why not run the bar? JB: bar? Smooth: They ain't gotta put eight minutes in the plot. They ain't think that boy's gonna do that. JB: Then no boy I forgot his name, Alexander. Didn't he win Su MVP Super Bowl? Yeah, Walker. Yeah, Walker. Walker. Yeah. So Walker Troy: Yeah. Yeah, Walker. Yeah. Yeah, definitely. JB: Walker a dog. So they get that's what I'm saying. They get more dog. Right. But we talking about Sean Payton. You know how Sean Sean Payton is ignorant. Come back. Smooth: See right. But we talking about Sean Payton, if we talk about Sean Payton and they deep fan. You know how Sean Sean Payton is ignorant. He's stubborn. JB: He's stubborn. Mm-hmm. So and his defense, he feels like he got that defense. You feel me? He ain't gonna put no eight in the box because he's trusting defense. Smooth: So in his defense, he feels like he got that defense, you feel me? He ain't gonna put no eight in the box because he trusts his defense. You hear me? JB: You hear me? Yeah. I don't know. I I think I think that running back, he would have he probably won't have a big game like I don't know. He probably would did that to anybody last week. that because I don't know, cause then he the receiver stepped up. I know on Patrick only had 187 yards, but it was yards that he needed. Then he was running, which I was like, why the hell this man running? He should be d sliding or diving. I think he dove a few times. So I I think I think them boys won't be back, man. I won't I'm not I'm not I'm not betting against against Patrick. What you got, E? Yeah, I I I I I think he's back. I mean especially with the game like they did yesterday, it's showing that they don't need to pass as much as they normally Troy: bit. Motown: Yeah, I I I I I think he's back. I mean especially with the game like they did yesterday, it's showing that they don't need to pass as much as they normally do. JB: do. Motown: And then he's able to run as well. So when he do start JB: And then he's able to run as well. So when he do start back, it's really gonna be over 'cause it only needs a little defense. That's all he needs a little defense. And I think they have some defense. Motown: It's really gonna be all because it only needs a little defense. And I think they have some defense. He's back. JB: He's bad. You win already, Troy? Troy: Yeah, JB: Yeah, I I talked about Troy: I talked about... JB: it. What'd you say smooth? I know I think everybody did. let's Smooth: Quest. JB: see. I ain't hear the question. It's about the Kansas City with you think they back with Patrick Mahomes? they look like they back though. All we gonna wind we're gonna get ready to wind this down. Quick questions for us, man. Just this is rapid. I know we talked about this earlier again, Troy, you wasn't here. The biggest surprise of week one for you, Troy. Troy: See you at Jacksonville. JB: Yeah, Jacksonville. They look Smooth: They look like they back. JB: like they back. Say, but Farden Is came out to play. Troy: Say bro, 49ers came out the plate. JB: yeah, that that was a that was that was my that was my thing. They they yeah they made a statement. That was a statement. Troy: Yeah, yeah, for all the nones, I wasn't thinking Smooth: Yeah. Troy: it was gonna come out like that, but shit, it surprised the hell out of me. Yeah, man, Jacksonville. Smooth: You know what you know what they said? You know what they said? They said, y'all keep talking about them rams and y'all JB: Y'all give Smooth: ain't saying nothing about us. We gonna show y'all. Yeah, yeah, that's what they said. We gonna show y'all. Y'all keep the y'all keep putting the rams on top like we ain't shit. We the niners. Motown: Yeah, they gotta stay healthy though. The whole team has to stay healthy. Everybody on their team is injured. Samuel, McCaffrey, quarterback. They just gotta stay healthy. Smooth: Yeah. But I ain't gonna lie. That boy backups Troy: And then they're kind of old Smooth: even be fire. Troy: too. Smooth: You hear me? That boy backups even be fire. JB: All right, there we go. That boy backups even be five. I'm sorry, my my my went in and Smooth: You're JB: out. Smooth: I see that boy backups even be fired. JB: I said that boy backups even be fired. Smooth: You have me. JB: I missed everything. My dog internet kept going in and out. everybody answered Smooth: It is. JB: E you answered. You say air Arizona earlier. Biggest Yeah, yeah, I did Arizona. All right. Biggest disappointment. I can hear we can hear you. Motown: Yeah, yeah, I did it up. Smooth: Yeah, every right. Yeah. JB: All right. All right. I'll see you on Yeah. Think that's pretty much We're pretty much getting ready to wrap everything up. So let's go I we're gonna end it we're gonna end it with this. Let's make some bold position put predicaments. Who y'all got I know it's only week one, but if you had to go out on the bow out on on them, we all got on the Super Bowl, going to the Super Bowl. Just that bold predicament. Anything can change. Motown: I'm saying the A or C. I'm I'm JB: I'm gonna say with A or C I'm I'm gonna go for Motown: In the NFC. JB: Say again. Say it again, yeah. AFC. Say it again. AFC is Buffalo. Man, no, bro. MFC. Motown: AFC is Buffalo. The NFC Troy: And over. What buffalo do you like that? Motown: It's it's so easy to say the bears JB: What what Buffalo Motown: right now. JB: is right now? But I'm not I'm I'm a I'm a I'm a skeptic grams. Motown: I'm not I'm I'm a I'm a I'm a stiff stick of Rams JB: So you got the Buffalo and the Rams. Who you got, Troy? Mm-hmm. No, I just need to go back to why does man pick Buffalo? Troy: I just need to go back to why this man picked Buffalo. Duh, listen, Eric, this man is a regular season quarterback, He ain't that, no, ain't gonna happen. But I'm gonna say Baltimore, Chicago. JB: So listen, sir. This man is a regular season quarterback, bro. He ain't that no. Ain't gonna happen. But I'm gonna say Baltimore, Chicago. So you think so you think Lamar gonna finally get over that hump? Say bro, yup. He got to. Troy: See you, Yup. You got to. JB: So no no more excuses. He can't after this then he got to go. Troy: After this, he's to go. JB: Man, him maybe about to get a man another extension. Motown: But get a man another extension. Troy: Man, he gotta go. You know what I'm saying? You got your new quarterback. I'm saying you got a new coach. listen, it's time for you to go. JB: Man, he gotta go. I'm gonna see you got a new coach. And listen, it's it's time for you to go. Motown: That man about to get a record breaker. He's about to get a record breaking contract. You ain't listening. When lose a draw, he they signing that boy. JB: He's about to get a record breaking contract. You ain't listening. Man, listen. We're gonna lose a draw, he thinks signing that Troy: Man, listen. JB: boy. Man, listen. I agree. If we win we gotta do this shit, you gotta Troy: Man, listen, if you don't do what you gotta do this, then you gotta go. Smooth: We went JB: go. Smooth: What offer we want? I'ma say Frisco and Buffalo. Troy: Y'all, what buffalo did like that with y'all on Buffalo like that? JB: No, what Buffalo did like that with y'all on Buffalo like that? We won, bruh. Smooth: We want, bruh. It's just we want. JB: It's just we won. They win every they win the first game every year. See what I'm gonna do. So why you think Buffalo what's what's so different about them this year that what they did this that they did Sunday that they gonna win? Troy: They win every, they win the first game every year. But why you think Buffalo, what's so different about them this year that what they did, that they did Sunday, that they gonna win? Motown: You must have seen Smooth: they good and then you must use a running back. JB: So what I'm gonna do is when I come back when we come back to about week what, eight, we're gonna see where we're gonna see where we anybody change their opinion on their predicament. Did you hear Smooth: Did he hear me? You heard me T? JB: me? You heard me T? What'd you say? What'd you Troy: What'd you say? What'd you say? JB: say? I said they play good and they Smooth: They they play good and then you they running back. JB: lose their money back. Smooth: Buffalo I mean Baltimore use their running back. They didn't use them a lot. Troy: Hey, cook them please! JB: You Troy: Who's what? You said again? JB: said that? Smooth: Maryland. Okay. JB: No, they didn't. So Troy: So cook while we're running the ball. JB: Cook wasn't so Cook wasn't right on the back. He was a no factor. He Smooth: He was a no factor. JB: was a no factor. Man, come on man. Josh Al man, Josh Allen is not that dude, bro. Come on, man. Troy: man come on man man Josh Allen is not that dude right come on man Smooth: Well JB: So you think Josh Allen Motown: What? JB: of the problem, Troy, or you think it's more than that? Troy: I think it's probably more than that, but he not that dude like what they thinkin' he is. Like he shouldn't have won MVP. Lamar should have won that. JB: I'm thinking probably more than that, but he's not that dude like what they thinking he is. Like he shouldn't have won MVP. Lamar should have won Motown: Yeah. JB: that. So you you agree. You don't you don't agree with that? Jesse is the Motown: I agree with you on that. But Josh is that dude. Smooth: Thank you. JB: dude. So you don't you don't agree No, you got right. All right, he he's like a an Eli man. I ain't much gonna give him Eli. No, he can't win a big game. Troy: No he not bro. He alright. Alright. He's like a Eli man. I ain't no one's gonna give him Eli. Duh! He can't win the big game! Motown: I think I sit out so well, boy. Smooth: There you go. JB: There you go. He's been doing that for the last couple of years. Come on, man. Troy: He been doing that for the last couple of years, come on man. Smooth: Go down the mountain. JB: Yeah, I'm I I don't know about that one. I think Well no, 'cause you don't know Motown: Wait, wait, Jay, what you don't know about? JB: about No, because I'm asking I 'cause I asked my ex mom, is it Alan the problem? He said no he went back to Alan, not to him. So you don't think he should be the number one They had the top ten quarterback. He shouldn't be number one quarterback. No, not at all. Hell no. Troy: No, not at all. Hell no. JB: Who should be over him in the in that top? Yeah man, you got so many other players. You got Mahomes. Well you got Mahomes got a question mark. You got Mahomes got a question mark on him. You got Smooth: Top yeah. Very tough. Troy: Hey, you got so many other players. You got Mahomes. You got Lamar. You got Golf. You got... JB: No I can't now you now you I can't say golf. Listen only question Man Allen shouldn't be no number one at the end of the day, he can't even he can't win a big game yet. Troy: Listen, man, Alan shouldn't be no number one. At the end of the day, can't even, he can't win a big game yet. Motown: So why would you put the mark over him and he can't win the game? Well he had JB: So why would you put the ball over him and he can't win the big game? But listen. But I I feel like they all they they one A1P. But neither one of them win the money. But listen. And their stats are pretty much the same. But like that's why I say they go by the market's the same in Smooth: No. He low no. He low he's got a NFL. Troy: Listen listen Listen, but I feel like they all did they one day one B Neither one of you win a well listen but that Motown: Yeah. And the Mark Institute and their stats are pretty much the same. Troy: But, but, but like, that's why I say. Motown: They go about the as far as the same in the plane. JB: the playoffs. Right. But that's why I say Troy: But that's why I say JB: Ma if Lamar don't do it this shit, he gotta go. Troy: if Lamar don't do it this year, he gotta go. JB: He not going nowhere. Nah. He not going. I get what Motown: They're about to start into a new contract, you're not listening, bro. Troy: I get what you're saying, I get all that. I get all that. But he's not doing shit. So why not let him go? JB: you're saying. I get all that. I get all that. But he's not doing shit. So why not let him go? Mo I don't know, but my opinion. Motown: And do what? And do what? JB: Yeah, then they're gonna really be on the in the black back plan. I mean back trying to get the number one pick. Go somewhere else. Motown: Yeah. They're gonna begin another coach again. Troy: Go somewhere else. Smooth: Yeah. Motown: But they want to be stable for about five years. JB: My my opinion, I think they should I think only quarterback I put over a Allen probably be Stafford. I know I know he had a rough game the first game, but to me Stafford. Smooth: Broke up. JB: Say it again, E. Say it Smooth: Again, Jay. JB: again, Jay. I said the only quarterback I'll put over Motown: You broke up. JB: Allen right now, to me is Stafford. that dude continue to continue to get better as he gets older. that's the only quarter quarterback I can see that's I'll put over him. I give you a little bit of an argument on that. I have to back up. Can't you eat for the championship? I said I would give you a little Motown: I give you a little bit of an argument on that. But I have to back up. I have to back up because he didn't win a championship. I would give you a little argument Smooth: Yeah, not too good. It is weak. Motown: on that, but I would have to back up because he didn't win a championship. JB: Stafford shoot since I don't think so 'cause he and the Rams he've been having Smooth: I don't think so 'cause he ain't look at the rattle. JB: good games. I mean good seasons. I can't say I don't remember last time Stafford had a bag a bad season, to be honest with you. Even go back to some of them. I Detroit. Say it again. Motown: I mean going back to even when he was Detroit, they don't even give him credit for doing for 5,000 yards when Drew Preek was doing for 5,000 yards. They never really gave him credit, but he threw for 5,000 credit. Smooth: He known to get at he known to get at the death. Motown: It's only a few quarterbacks and do a 5,000 yards in season. And I think he did it twice with Detroit. JB: It's only a few quarterbacks and two five times the other season. I think he did it twice with Detroit. Mm-hmm. Yeah, he did a few times with Detroit, but I'm going off for the last five years. I'm going off when Odell had had a good a good super bow, good progressive ass Super Bowl. So I'm going back then I I think that's what that's that's his mind. I I Stafford man, he he continue to me continue to be him. but again, like Troy said, why why Allen keeping getting all the credit? Motown: Not that dude. Not. Everybody owned. Smooth: Ha ha JB: All right, Troy. All right, man, we're about to end this, but I got one last question for Troy, man. We gotta go back because viewers want to know what do you think LeBron's gonna do this season for the Philly? You see championship? Smooth: Rose yeah. Troy: Shit. Motown: Be serious, bro, be serious, bro. JB: You see championship. This time I came. Smooth: gonna get this man started, huh? JB: What are your thoughts now? You you gotta be real now. Don't lie. What what what you think LeBron gonna We see that he's you see he's staging his team. He's staging that team. So you telling me you don't be looking at the videos Troy: Hey listen, we see that he's, you see he's stagging his team. He's stagging that team. He gonna be... Motown: Mr. Power. JB: I'll be seeing you sending you. You must be Mr. Flop, bro. No Listen. Troy: He gonna be Mr. Flop, bro. Listen. JB: I had Motown: That boy that boy is Smooth: Well you JB: to ask Hey man, I had Smooth: What is that more? Troy: Hey man, listen. JB: to ask him. He had time to think about Troy: Listen, man. JB: the last last podcast we did. He had time to think about. He might have changed his mind on LeBron. Listen, man. Man, listen, bro. He ain't gonna know he's not holding. Troy: Listen man, man listen bruh, he ain't gonna never be empty, he ain't gonna never be cold. Motown: a real true brother. Smooth: The hay the hay is real, huh? JB: So you Motown: A real true LeBron hater. Troy: Man, listen. Smooth: Hate is ripped. JB: So you don't think that he's gonna Troy: Mate. JB: you don't think that he's gonna be he's not making a the the finals or even a Eastern Conference finals? Probably Troy: problem, JB: man. So what's your thoughts on Bronny then? You think how you think Bronny gonna do this show with the Lakers? You think he might Troy: Buh. JB: make that leap to becoming top six or seven? He ain't gonna play. So you think he's gonna play? Steve, Troy: He ain't gonna play! That boy gonna be 15 on the bench. Smooth: Ha ha. JB: why you doing that, man? I'm trying to shove them all too, I see. Man, that nigga terrible, man. So you think Hey, if they get out of here. Listen, hold on. If if if his pawn wouldn't have sat there and waited until he got his guaranteed money, he'd have been gone Smooth: They're gonna ship out too, aren't they? Motown: Why you did that, Jim? Troy: Man, that nigga terrible, Hey, if... Listen, hold up. If his pa wouldn't have sat there and waited until you got his guaranteed money, you'd have been gone too. Smooth: I'm gonna get out of here. JB: too. I don't know, bro. I think Brownie earned that money. I think he's gonna Man stop that, bro. He's one Troy: Man, stop that, In your heart, of all hearts, don't believe that. Smooth: But they kept for a reason, huh? JB: of the best players in the G League though. Stop Troy: Bye. JB: So you so you saying he's gonna be traded by All-Star. All Star weekend. Yeah, he he yeah. you think he's gonna be number fifty on the Hall Power? Troy: Yeah, he out of there. He gonna be number 15 on the bench. Smooth: So you ain't on the whole film? JB: Or you think they're gonna just go ahead and buy his contract out? She like, man, just go. Yeah, he he just go buy his daddy, Troy: Yeah, he just go by his dad, bruh. Smooth: So wait. JB: bro. Smooth: Say you hate the whole blood line? JB: So you don't think so. If then LeBron comes back next Troy: Look and then LeBron gonna come back next year JB: year. So so so Bryce can be on the same team. So it could be I I I'm able to play with Bryce and Bronny, Troy: So, so Bryce can be on the same team so it could be I'm able to play with Bryce and Brony, bro. JB: bro. He he said he ain't winning a bride, Bronny. He said right now he's focused on winning a championship. So you don't think he's focused on that championship? You think but you saw him in breakers though. He ain't winning that. Him and Maxie. Troy: That boy ain't... Man, that boy ain't... winning. We're prizes. JB: Him, Max. Yeah, Maxie. Smooth: With that JB: I sent you video. You ain't seen them picking picking up I don't think I watched Troy: I don't think I watched it. JB: it. I Smooth: He's it in the video. JB: ain't watched that. I watched I I don't watch nothing when they think if all the part doing well. Now you see smooth. Troy: I watch that. I don't watch nothing when they think all the brands doing well. Man, that boy is terrible. Smooth: Boy, you were over there. JB: I gave him a chance to clear it up. He's still gonna go with it. That's made shit right now. Smooth: That's a hate shit right there. That's maybe shit right there. Motown: really? Troy: I ain't no hating shit, Motown: Yes, it is right. JB: Not listen. I'm asking Troy: Listen. JB: this again, Troy, because you might might need Smooth: Well, that made it right there, boy. JB: to see a few games. I'm actually this again probably week five in NBA. You might change your mind. You might I Troy: I'm R1. Smooth: Yeah I got deze man. You're dead man. JB: stand my business, man. So he's not even in the GO conversation Troy: I on business. JB: conversation to you. Troy: Hello JB: Who who over him though? Huh? Who over him. Listen. Smooth: Nothing here. Nothing here. Motown: Real hate. Real hate. Real hate. Troy: Huh? Listen, listen. You got Jordan, listen. I saw somebody say Jordan is on a whole nother tier. So you can't even say, you know what I'm saying, Jordan, right? So you got Kobe, you got Steph. JB: You got you got Jordan. Listen, I I saw somebody say Jordan is on a whole nother tier. So you can't even say, you know what I'm saying, Jordan, right? So you got Colby. You got Steph. Troy: Right there. Lebron is like 6'7". JB: Right there. LeBron is like six. Six seven. Okay, you you not putting him in your top ten, but he got he went to ten straight finals. Jordan ain't never did that all Kobe. Not even Okay, he he went to ten and won four. Troy: Okay, he went to 10 and wanted to 4. Motown: He still went to Tent True. JB: He still went to ten Jordan and D all Mao and then But that was that's Okay Key all right, listen, listen, listen, listen. He went he was doing that when he was in the East, when the East was bums. Smooth: wasn't dead, right? Troy: It don't matter. Okay, all right, listen, listen. He was doing that when he was in the East, when the East was bombs. JB: So not a not a bone. Huh? So the east was week. No, that wasn't weak. You had stop that Indiana Pacers was a good team. Come on, man. He went to Boston. He went Troy: What? Huh? So each one week? stop that, bro. Come on, Smooth: No. Motown: Sure, so each individual. Smooth: Dallas was good. JB: to Boston. who else was a dog back then? But listen, again, hold up. Let me tell you this. Jordan Error. And Jo listen. And Jordan Error, who who who was winning? Troy: But listen, again, hold up, let me tell you this. Jordan Error, listen, in Jordan Error, who was winning? JB: People say that Jordan didn't go against the But listen. Troy: Hold up, listen. All right, well listen. Jordan won, right? In Lebron era, how many people ate? Steph got four, Yanis got one, Toronto, Kawhi got one, you got Boston got it. JB: Jordan won, right? In LeBron era, how many people ate? Steph got four. Giannis got one. Hold up. let me tomorrow. Kawhi got one. Hold up, Troy. Hold up. Listen a minute. Listen. Listen, you say that the run Motown: Hold up, hold up, not let me I gotta pick up with that brother. Hold on, hold on. Because you're doing this now, but you're not being fair. Hold up, Troy. You're doing Smooth: We did. Motown: this and you're not being fair because you hold up. You saying JB: taking his two. Smooth: Yeah. Motown: You say hold on listen for a minute. Just listen. Listen, you saying that LeBron went and now he's building, stacking his team. But then when LeBron and his era coming in Pete Baker, all those other things were stacking too. What what's the difference? That's why they was eating JB: But then when LeBron in this era coming in P all those other foodies were stacked in too. What what's the difference? That's why they Troy: First of all, the arrow what Jordan played in was tough. what LeBron got is soft. JB: First of all, the the era where Jordan played in was was tough. This this with LeBron got is soft. Smooth: Yeah. I did that. But that ain't fun. JB: It can't help because rules are difference. But listen, at the end of the day LeBron is not that dude. I don't know why y'all keep on asking me that question. Troy: But listen, at the end of the day, LeBron is not that dude. I don't know why y'all keep on asking me that question. But I'm gonna keep on saying it. JB: Hope that you change your mind 'cause you might you might have was I thought you was tired. He's not Smooth: He said LeBrian that do. JB: that dude. Troy: He's not that dude. JB: Well fellas Hey That's like if I say yeah the Cowboys that team I'll be lying to myself The same thing you gotta bring that up Wait wait I am I ain't worried about that I ain't worried I ain't worried about that It took John six years before he even went to the Troy: Hey, that's like if I say, the Cowboys, that team, I'll be lying to myself, right? The same thing. Smooth: It's rather true. So wait. So wait. Hold up. I can ask you something. Wait, wait. I ain't I ain't worried about that. I ain't worried I ain't worried about that. It took Jordan six years before he even went to a championship, bro. Troy: I'm just saying. JB: championship Okay but when he did that he was leading the NBA he was doing all what he was doing with Troy: Okay, but when he did that, he was leading the NBA. He was doing all what he was doing with niggas who was smoking cigarettes at halftime, drinking beer and doing coke. JB: Niggas who was smoking cigarettes at halftime, drinking beer, and doing coke. Smooth: Okay. So Jordan won three. He retired, came back and lost. Then he won three more. So he didn't win six straight. He didn't win six straight. He went he won three straight. JB: Okay. So John won three. He retired, came back, and lost. Then he won three more. So he ain't winning. He came back in the middle of the season. He went he Troy: He came back in middle of the season. JB: won three straight. Smooth: They came back one, three more. JB: They came back one three more. Smooth: But he lost first before he won them three more. JB: So you don't think but he lost first before he won them three more. You think so you don't think the Bulls had a 'cause I seen people make discount. This they say this too. You don't think the Bulls had a nice little stack team? Even though some of them was drunk. Yeah, they were stacked. You got you Troy: Where was fact at? Smooth: Yeah, they were saying JB: got Mike, Pippin, Rodman, Kukos, Ryan Harper. That's not a good starting five. Not to mention, not to mention the best. But listen. I'm not saying it's stacked. Smooth: Not to mention the not to mention the best coach. Troy: listen, listen. JB: That was homegrown, some of the players, but that's people talking like the Bulls didn't have a a hell of a starting four. And that's in Smooth: Right. Troy: But listen, at the end of the day, Ron Harper was old as hell when he came, JB: Cucko's. At the end of the day, Ryan Harper was old as hell when he came. Troy: when he got there. He had that bad knee. JB: When he got there. Harper still was making first second. He had the enemy. Motown: You trippin'. Smooth: Yeah, Pass, yeah, curve, yeah, V Bay. Motown: You tripping. You tripping. JB: You tripping. Yeah, you tripping. You tripping, yeah. You all defense. Motown: All defense. JB: Yeah, Hopper was all defense, so you you can't stay Stop Motown: Stop it. Stop it. JB: it. But but Mike had a nice little team, so I'm not saying it was the Hall of Fame was that LeBron played with. He played with damnly everybody who who got a on Ain't nobody on the balls team going to Hall of Fame but Jordan Pippen. Troy: Ain't nobody on the Bulls team going to Hall of Fame but Jordan Pivman. JB: Yeah, Robman. Robin already know. Yeah, Robman already knew. Oakley Oakley didn't Troy: environment. Motown: No. Oakley Oakley didn't make it? JB: make it? No, Oakley didn't make it. Nah. Yeah, Oakley on the team. Do you know it was on Charles Oakland looking like he played with Jordan that Smooth: Yeah, Oakley on the T Oakley was on the on the thing before. Troy: Do do Charles Oakley look like he ain't played with Jordan that long? JB: all? Smooth: Tony Cuckoo. Motown: You play what it's JB: Well, Troy: Stop it, Smooth: Ha ha ha ha. JB: we're Motown: With that other Cinderella with the brothers the twin with the brothers. I mean the Harvey, Harvey, Harry Frank, Keenan and all the things. Troy: No. No. Motown: No. JB: gonna circle back to this question about the ask you this again next time doing basketball season 'cause gonna give you some time to think about it. I know you say you might have the same answer, but I think once you see LeBron stand take it I can't lie and say it right. Just g just give it time. Smooth: Mm. JB: We're gonna see. Troy: See? JB: Amen. So on that note, man, I'd like to thank Smooth: Well, that's great. JB: that's great.
