Transcript
- 0:00Welcome to Pomoja Ministry, a place of fellowship,
- 0:03growth, and alignment with God's purpose. In
- 0:07this chapter, we address a question that many
- 0:09believers quietly ask but rarely confront openly.
- 0:13Why do strong Christians fail? Why do spiritual
- 0:18heroes, men and women who once walked closely
- 0:21with God, begin to drift? Why heroes fail? When
- 0:27Christians begin to drift is not a message of
- 0:30condemnation, but of awareness. It is an invitation
- 0:34to examine our walk, recognize God's warning
- 0:38signs, and realign our hearts before small compromises
- 0:42turn into spiritual collapse. This chapter is
- 0:45for believers who desire to finish well. It is
- 0:49for those who are running their race and want
- 0:51to ensure that nothing interferes with their
- 0:54calling, their faith. or their relationship with
- 0:58God. It is a call to vigilance, humility, and
- 1:02perseverance, because drifting rarely begins
- 1:06with rebellion, but with complacency. As you
- 1:10continue, allow the Holy Spirit to search your
- 1:14heart, strengthen your roots, and restore your
- 1:17focus. The goal is not perfection, but alignment,
- 1:22and the grace to stand up and keep running. Walking
- 1:26with God is both a blessing and a challenge at
- 1:29the same time. It is a blessing because when
- 1:33Christians remain aligned with God, no challenge
- 1:36is greater than the grace that sustains them.
- 1:39But it is also a challenge because the enemy
- 1:42understands this principle very well. Staying
- 1:45connected to Jesus Christ and walking daily with
- 1:48the Holy Spirit is the most beautiful, valuable,
- 1:52and precious gift in the Christian life. It is
- 1:55also the very thing the devil works relentlessly
- 1:58to disrupt. The enemy knows that as long as Christians
- 2:02remain aligned with God, victory is not a question.
- 2:07It is guaranteed. That is why the devil's primary
- 2:11mission is not always to make Christians fall
- 2:13suddenly, but to slowly drift them away from
- 2:17God. The devil does not come with horns or a
- 2:21frightening appearance. He operates in camouflage.
- 2:24His tactics are subtle, friendly, and seemingly
- 2:28harmless. He uses infiltration rather than confrontation,
- 2:33small compromises, distractions, reasonable excuses,
- 2:38and gradual distance from God's presence. His
- 2:41goal is not instant destruction, but spiritual
- 2:45drainage, pulling Christians away from God's
- 2:48way, power, and blessing until failure becomes
- 2:52inevitable. This explains why even spiritual
- 2:56heroes have failed, not because they stop believing
- 3:00in God, but because something disturbed their
- 3:03walk, their focus, or their consistency. When
- 3:07Christians begin to drift away from God, He does
- 3:10not abandon us or remain silent. He always sends
- 3:14warning signs. One of the greatest dangers for
- 3:18Christians is complacency. Drifting rarely begins
- 3:22with rebellion. It begins with permission. We
- 3:26start allowing things we know are sins, or things
- 3:29we know can lead us into sin. As Christians,
- 3:33we convince ourselves that we are strong enough,
- 3:37mature enough, or spiritually grounded enough
- 3:40to handle it. We go to the bar for just one innocent
- 3:44drink. We step into the club claiming we are
- 3:48not there for the atmosphere, but to socialize,
- 3:52to fit in, or to integrate with coworkers. We
- 3:56allow our minds to be filled with ungodly content
- 3:59through social media, movies, and entertainment,
- 4:03telling ourselves it has no effect, while our
- 4:07subconscious quietly absorbs impure and destructive
- 4:11seeds. As Christians drifting away, we begin
- 4:15allowing people, places, and habits into our
- 4:18lives that we once guarded against. We start
- 4:22walking the yellow line, testing how close we
- 4:26can get without crossing it. We claim strength
- 4:29and self -control, while Scripture warns us that
- 4:33flirting with temptation is a battle we will
- 4:36eventually lose. This pattern is clearly seen
- 4:39in the life of David. David did not fall in one
- 4:43moment. He first allowed his eyes to linger and
- 4:46his heart to entertain desire. One compromise
- 4:50opened the door to another. Lust led to planning.
- 4:54Planning led to deception. Deception led to murder,
- 4:58as David arranged the death of his own general
- 5:01to cover his sin. For Christians, one sin never
- 5:05stands alone. It always attracts another. When
- 5:09sin is repeated and defended, the Bible calls
- 5:12it iniquity. Iniquity is a clear warning sign
- 5:16that a Christian is drifting away from God. Many
- 5:20Christians learn to live with sins they have
- 5:22justified. We rename them, my weakness, my struggle,
- 5:27my issue. Over time, conviction fades and comfort
- 5:32replaces repentance. This is one of the most
- 5:35effective infiltration strategies of the enemy.
- 5:39When persecution could not destroy the early
- 5:41church, Compromise was introduced. When external
- 5:45attacks failed, internal erosion succeeded. This
- 5:50strategy began long before the church. It started
- 5:54in the Garden of Eden when the enemy infiltrated
- 5:57the Mind of Eve. He did not force sin, he normalized
- 6:01it. He made it sound reasonable, harmless, and
- 6:05even beneficial. Spiritual collapse rarely happens
- 6:09overnight. An oak tree does not fall in one day.
- 6:13It is not the light wind nor the strong wind
- 6:16that causes its fall. It is the condition of
- 6:19the roots, the slow decay, and the long -term
- 6:23pressure. In the same way when Christians drift,
- 6:27the fall is the result of ignored warnings, repeated
- 6:31compromises, and a neglected spiritual life.
- 6:35This is why Paul issues a strong warning. He
- 6:38reminds believers to ensure that nothing interferes
- 6:42with their race because there is a prize to be
- 6:45won. He speaks to those who were running well
- 6:49and asks a piercing question, What stopped you?
- 6:54His words are not condemnation. They are a call
- 6:58to self -examination, alertness, and perseverance.
- 7:02And if a Christian stumbles, the instruction
- 7:05is clear. Do not quit. Do not stay down, stand
- 7:10up, and keep running. This is not a message about
- 7:14perfection. It is a call to vigilance, alignment,
- 7:18and endurance. Warning signs are not punishment.
- 7:22They are mercy. Ignoring them is what leads even
- 7:26strong believers into failure. But heeding them
- 7:30keeps Christians rooted, guarded, and victorious
- 7:34in God.
