  Speaker: Saturday, August twenty first, twenty twenty one.

  Speaker: A few hours ago, actually.

  Speaker: Now, Sherry and I went to Bossie

  Speaker: Field in Evansville around seven

  Speaker: o'clock tonight to catch the

  Speaker: otters game.

  Speaker: Our daughter, Lexi, is an Otter Belle and she performs there and
• 1:06
  Speaker: they do a dance after the fourth inning of all the home games.

  Speaker: So we were going to support her there.
• 1:12
  Speaker: And full disclosure, Sherri and I, well, we're not exactly big
• 1:16
  Speaker: baseball fans, so we do go to support her at the games.
• 1:20
  Speaker: But watching watching baseball is basically is kind of rough
• 1:24
  Speaker: for both of us.
• 1:25
  Speaker: I'm a I'm a football fan.
• 1:27
  Speaker: I enjoy watching basketball too.
• 1:29
  Speaker: But man, baseball just I just it's not my thing.
• 1:33
  Speaker: There was a rain delays.
• 1:34
  Speaker: The game was starting at seven fifteen.
• 1:36
  Speaker: We were about fifteen minutes early.
• 1:37
  Speaker: So we thought, hey, let's, let's get some exercise and take a

  Speaker: walk around the Garvin Lake.
• 1:42
  Speaker: And that's what we did.
• 1:47
  Speaker: It was a beautiful night,
• 1:48
  Speaker: probably seventy five degrees or
• 1:50
  Speaker: so.
• 1:50
  Speaker: We thought we'd take a walk
• 1:52
  Speaker: around the lake and kill some
• 1:53
  Speaker: time.
• 1:54
  Speaker: So we're walking around the lake and not many people around.
• 1:58
  Speaker: I think we saw one couple
• 1:59
  Speaker: fishing on the, uh, the
• 2:01
  Speaker: northeast side of the lake over
• 2:03
  Speaker: there, close to the concrete
• 2:06
  Speaker: bridge.
• 2:07
  Speaker: I don't think we saw anybody else as we were.

  Speaker: As we were there.

  Speaker: We were walking along the
• 2:12
  Speaker: sidewalk along the north side of
• 2:15
  Speaker: the lake, walking on the north
• 2:18
  Speaker: side of the path, walking away
• 2:20
  Speaker: from bossy field like towards
• 2:22
  Speaker: the greenway.
• 2:24
  Speaker: Didn't see anything unusual
• 2:25
  Speaker: until we got to the northwest
• 2:26
  Speaker: corner.
• 2:27
  Speaker: So the basically the the corner over there by the greenway and
• 2:32
  Speaker: that section of the lake, I turned my head and as we're
• 2:36
  Speaker: walking I. I see about two hundred feet off into the lake,
• 2:41
  Speaker: what appears to be two green ducks floating parallel to the
• 2:49
  Speaker: sidewalk away across the lake.
• 2:52
  Speaker: Now there are some strange
• 2:53
  Speaker: reflections and the lighting was
• 2:55
  Speaker: kind of odd, so I was kind of
• 2:57
  Speaker: guessing what I was actually
• 2:59
  Speaker: seeing.
• 2:59
  Speaker: I was just kind of keeping an eye on it.
• 3:02
  Speaker: And I Finally, as we're walking,
• 3:04
  Speaker: I turned to Sherry and I said,
• 3:06
  Speaker: do you.
• 3:06
  Speaker: Do you see that out there?
• 3:07
  Speaker: Do you see out in the lake that there's something strange.
• 3:11
  Speaker: And she looks out there and says, yeah, that's.
• 3:14
  Speaker: What is that?
• 3:14
  Speaker: There's something strange out there.
• 3:16
  Speaker: So that's when we both started like hyper focusing on whatever
• 3:21
  Speaker: this this thing was.
• 3:23
  Speaker: It was moving.
• 3:24
  Speaker: You could see that the water around whatever this was, was
• 3:28
  Speaker: there were ripples around it.
• 3:30
  Speaker: So you could see that it was in motion and moving.
• 3:34
  Speaker: And it appeared the more we looked at it, the more it was it
• 3:37
  Speaker: looked like leaves and like maybe a giant branch, but it was
• 3:41
  Speaker: moving as though it was two ducks in a row.
• 3:45
  Speaker: It kind of had somewhat the
• 3:47
  Speaker: shape of two ducks, but you
• 3:49
  Speaker: could see kind of leafy, you
• 3:51
  Speaker: know, maybe a bush like thing, I
• 3:54
  Speaker: don't know.
• 3:54
  Speaker: It was it was very strange, but it didn't look like a branch.
• 3:58
  Speaker: I didn't see any wood anywhere.

  Speaker: So it was it was very hard to decipher what we were looking at
• 4:05
  Speaker: and it was across.
• 4:06
  Speaker: It was there was a bit of
• 4:07
  Speaker: distance between us and whatever
• 4:09
  Speaker: this was.
• 4:11
  Speaker: And this all happened so quickly.
• 4:12
  Speaker: So as we're walking, I turned to Sherry and I said, you know,
• 4:16
  Speaker: maybe this thing is not moving.
• 4:17
  Speaker: Maybe it's maybe it's just like
• 4:19
  Speaker: a tree branch stuck in the
• 4:21
  Speaker: water.
• 4:22
  Speaker: And we just think it's moving
• 4:24
  Speaker: because we're, we're moving in
• 4:26
  Speaker: and it's causing some sort of
• 4:27
  Speaker: illusion.
• 4:28
  Speaker: So we stop and look across the lake and we can see clearly that
• 4:33
  Speaker: it's still moving.
• 4:35
  Speaker: We could see the water ripples
• 4:37
  Speaker: around it and that it's
• 4:38
  Speaker: actually, you know, kind of like
• 4:40
  Speaker: a duck.
• 4:41
  Speaker: It's a duck were swimming across the lake.
• 4:43
  Speaker: You'd see the water around the
• 4:45
  Speaker: duck kind of being, you know,
• 4:47
  Speaker: rippled and displaced and
• 4:49
  Speaker: everything.
• 4:50
  Speaker: So it was, it was definitely moving.
• 4:51
  Speaker: There was motion there.
• 4:53
  Speaker: It wasn't like just some branch
• 4:54
  Speaker: in the middle of the lake that
• 4:55
  Speaker: wasn't moving.
• 4:56
  Speaker: I started to turn and I was
• 4:59
  Speaker: going to walk, continue walking
• 5:01
  Speaker: around the lake and get a better
• 5:02
  Speaker: view.
• 5:02
  Speaker: And maybe I was at that point I was thinking, okay, I'm going to
• 5:04
  Speaker: get some pictures of this thing.
• 5:06
  Speaker: It's this is something unusual.
• 5:07
  Speaker: So I was hoping to get a better angle where I could get a better
• 5:12
  Speaker: shot of what this thing was, or get a shot of what it was.
• 5:16
  Speaker: And the moment I turned my head, Sherri said, oh, it just dove
• 5:19
  Speaker: under the water.
• 5:20
  Speaker: I quickly turned my head and I
• 5:22
  Speaker: could see that the water had
• 5:23
  Speaker: been displaced.
• 5:24
  Speaker: Kind of like if you threw a
• 5:25
  Speaker: giant rock out in the middle of
• 5:26
  Speaker: the lake, you'd see the ripples
• 5:28
  Speaker: going out.
• 5:28
  Speaker: And that's what I saw.
• 5:29
  Speaker: That's what both of us saw.
• 5:31
  Speaker: And Sherri said, oh yeah, and very intentionally dove or it
• 5:36
  Speaker: disappeared under the water.
• 5:37
  Speaker: It wasn't like a, a slow sinking or gradual anything.
• 5:42
  Speaker: It was like it just, it disappeared quickly.
• 5:45
  Speaker: We thought, well, if it dove,
• 5:48
  Speaker: then it needs to come back up
• 5:50
  Speaker: for air.
• 5:50
  Speaker: If it was on top of the water, then it needs air.
• 5:53
  Speaker: So we thought we'd stick around for about ten minutes or so and
• 5:57
  Speaker: just kind of wait for it to resurface and see what, see what
• 6:02
  Speaker: the heck it was.
• 6:03
  Speaker: We waited and waited and never came back up for air.
• 6:07
  Speaker: We thought, well, let's let's
• 6:09
  Speaker: continue walking around the
• 6:10
  Speaker: lake.
• 6:10
  Speaker: So we go around the north side
• 6:13
  Speaker: of the lake and then head back
• 6:15
  Speaker: on the south side, heading
• 6:16
  Speaker: towards back towards Bossy
• 6:18
  Speaker: Field.
• 6:18
  Speaker: The entire time we're, you know,
• 6:20
  Speaker: focusing on the lake at that
• 6:23
  Speaker: area where we saw it to see if
• 6:25
  Speaker: we see any sort of, you know,
• 6:26
  Speaker: disruption or activity or hear
• 6:29
  Speaker: noises or anything and, and
• 6:30
  Speaker: nothing.
• 6:31
  Speaker: It was, it never came back.
• 6:32
  Speaker: So whatever it was, was under
• 6:34
  Speaker: the water and disappeared and
• 6:37
  Speaker: nothing.

  Speaker: When I got to the other side, I did take some pictures and I
• 6:43
  Speaker: will post those on the website and on the discord server.

  Speaker: Um, just so you can have an idea
• 6:49
  Speaker: of what exactly the lighting
• 6:52
  Speaker: was, what time of, you know,
• 6:54
  Speaker: what, what the conditions were
• 6:55
  Speaker: at the time and the lake now

  Speaker: the, you know, there's nothing

  Speaker: in the pictures that as far as
• 7:02
  Speaker: like seeing whatever this was,
• 7:03
  Speaker: I, it was long gone at that
• 7:05
  Speaker: time.

  Speaker: I probably took the pictures maybe fifteen minutes after we

  Speaker: actually had the sighting, so.

  Speaker: But the lighting is pretty much
• 7:13
  Speaker: the same as it was for the most
• 7:15
  Speaker: part.

  Speaker: So I'd like to throw this out

  Speaker: there to you if you've ever had
• 7:19
  Speaker: any sort of strange experience
• 7:21
  Speaker: at Garvin Lake, or if you have
• 7:24
  Speaker: any ideas as to what we may have

  Speaker: seen.

  Speaker: One idea that I have is that maybe it was a, um, a larger

  Speaker: fish, maybe it's a catfish or something that had fishing line
• 8:07
  Speaker: attached to it, and maybe the fishing line had wrapped around
• 8:11
  Speaker: a tree branch.
• 8:12
  Speaker: And as the fish is floating around the the lake, this
• 8:16
  Speaker: branch, uh, once the fish starts getting close to the surface,
• 8:20
  Speaker: the branch comes above the water and appears to be floating on
• 8:25
  Speaker: the top of the water.
• 8:26
  Speaker: That's, uh, I've never seen
• 8:28
  Speaker: anything like that, uh, in all
• 8:30
  Speaker: the times I've been around
• 8:31
  Speaker: lakes.
• 8:31
  Speaker: But, hey, anything is possible that seems more plausible than
• 8:36
  Speaker: some sort of branch creature that's living in Garvin Lake.
• 8:40
  Speaker: But, um, I don't know.
• 8:43
  Speaker: We know.
• 8:45
  Speaker: All we know is that we both saw something tonight, and we don't
• 8:49
  Speaker: know what it was, so I said, I told Sherri, hey, I'm just going
• 8:52
  Speaker: to throw this out there on the, uh, on the show.

  Speaker: And hopefully we get some
• 8:57
  Speaker: feedback on the discord server

  Speaker: and maybe we'll learn something

  Speaker: and have not seen any reports of

  Speaker: any unusual sightings at, uh,

  Speaker: Garvin Lake.

  Speaker: There have been all kinds of

  Speaker: stories about stuff that's
• 9:18
  Speaker: happened at Garvin Lake, but
• 9:19
  Speaker: none of it cryptid related or
• 9:21
  Speaker: any sort of unusual creatures

  Speaker: like this.

  Speaker: And I did some research through my materials for cryptids and
• 9:28
  Speaker: unknown lake creatures.

  Speaker: Nothing really comes close to

  Speaker: meeting the description of what
• 9:34
  Speaker: we saw.
