  Speaker 1: main event. Twenty four hours after a very boring SmackDown Man,

  Speaker 1: that show was not fun. Last night, WWE tonight delivered

  Speaker 1: two hours in the same venue in Montreal at the
• 0:16
  Speaker 1: Bell Center. We are one week out now from the
• 0:18
  Speaker 1: Royal Rumble and WWE went out tonight and they delivered
• 0:21
  Speaker 1: what I think, top to bottom was the best installment
• 0:25
  Speaker 1: of Saturday Nights Made events since they rebooted the show
• 0:27
  Speaker 1: back in twenty twenty four. So, and again maybe it's
• 0:31
  Speaker 1: low praise. I can't really think back to many of
• 0:34
  Speaker 1: these shows that I would say were outstanding or anything
• 0:38
  Speaker 1: like that. But we are a week out from the
• 0:39
  Speaker 1: main show, which is the Rumble that's the bigger of
• 0:42
  Speaker 1: the two shows. We didn't have a large card tonight,

  Speaker 1: and in fact, one of the matches they promoted never
• 0:47
  Speaker 1: actually technically was a match. But I do think top
• 0:50
  Speaker 1: to bottom it was the strongest Saturday Nights Made event
• 0:53
  Speaker 1: that they've done so far. We do have a new
• 0:55
  Speaker 1: number one contender for the WWE Championship that we were
• 0:58
  Speaker 1: promised tonight we would find out who Drew McIntyre's opponent
• 1:02
  Speaker 1: would be at the Royal Rumble. It was either going
• 1:04
  Speaker 1: to be Randy Orton, Sammy z Ain, Trick Williams, or
• 1:08
  Speaker 1: Damian Priest. And as I mentioned a few weeks ago,
• 1:11
  Speaker 1: I said, you know, this show is in Montreal and
• 1:14
  Speaker 1: then the Royal Rumble next weekend is in Riod, two
• 1:17
  Speaker 1: places where Samy Zain happens to have a very large
• 1:20
  Speaker 1: fan base. The people love him in these two places,
• 1:23
  Speaker 1: and I don't see this as being the WrestleMania main events,
• 1:26
  Speaker 1: so it would only make sense that Sammy z Ain
• 1:28
  Speaker 1: would get a big win here in Montreal. The last
• 1:31
  Speaker 1: time they were here for like a major event, Samy's
• 1:34
  Speaker 1: Ain challenged for the WWE Championship and it didn't work
• 1:38
  Speaker 1: out too well for him. But tonight he was able
• 1:41
  Speaker 1: to pick up the win, which means he will get
• 1:43
  Speaker 1: another crack at the title in Riod next Saturday. They
• 1:47
  Speaker 1: had what I thought was a good four way that
• 1:50
  Speaker 1: was the main event of the show here. Not my
• 1:52
  Speaker 1: favorite thing on the show, but I thought that it
• 1:54
  Speaker 1: was a good match, and it was the first time
• 1:56
  Speaker 1: that we saw Trick Williams in a major main roster match.

  Speaker 1: WWE you would never even know that he was only
• 2:03
  Speaker 1: called up a month ago to the main roster. He
• 2:05
  Speaker 1: has just fit like a glove on that SmackDown brand.

  Speaker 1: He fit right in there with Randy Orton and Sammy
• 2:10
  Speaker 1: and Priest. He was more over than Damian Priest was.

  Speaker 1: So I like the main event, and as predictable as
• 2:16
  Speaker 1: the finish was, it is the right match to be doing.
• 2:18
  Speaker 1: Predictable does not always mean bad. That was the correct outcome.

  Speaker 1: Although there was one thing that surprised me about that match,
• 2:25
  Speaker 1: which I'll talk about a little bit later on Cody

  Speaker 1: roads in Jacob Fat two. They do not like each other.

  Speaker 1: We saw that on SmackDown last night. That was the

  Speaker 1: best part of SmackDown was the face to face interview
• 2:36
  Speaker 1: with Cody and FA two that got me hyped up
• 2:38
  Speaker 1: to see this match first time ever. One on one.

  Speaker 1: The bell never rang. These two came out there, they
• 2:44
  Speaker 1: opened the show, and they just brawled all over the building.

  Speaker 1: I ever wrote in my notes, because you guys know

  Speaker 1: how much of a fan I am of the false

  Speaker 1: count any war stipulation. When people actually make use of

  Speaker 1: the false count any war stipulation, and unfortunately, and this

  Speaker 1: goes for aw as well, but especially in WWE, rarely,
• 3:04
  Speaker 1: if ever, do they fully take advantage of that stipulation.

  Speaker 1: This was not a false count anywhere match, but you
• 3:10
  Speaker 1: would watch it and you would think that it was,
• 3:12
  Speaker 1: and they actually made better use of it if it
• 3:15
  Speaker 1: was a false count anywhere match than most actual false

  Speaker 1: count anywhere matches. They were brawling all over the place
• 3:20
  Speaker 1: and it went exactly the way that I told you
• 3:22
  Speaker 1: it would when we did the predictions the other week
• 3:24
  Speaker 1: where I said, there's not gonna be a winner here.

  Speaker 1: They're not gonna want to beat Cody Rhoads. Cody is
• 3:31
  Speaker 1: their guy. They had to be dragged, kicking and screaming

  Speaker 1: just to beat him in three stages of hell. And

  Speaker 1: he's coming off that loss, you think they're gonna beat
• 3:39
  Speaker 1: him again. And then you got Jacob Fatu, who this
• 3:43
  Speaker 1: was his first match back in a few months. They
• 3:45
  Speaker 1: don't want to beat him either, So what do you

  Speaker 1: think they're gonna do. They're going to try to do

  Speaker 1: a finish that protects both of these men in some way,
• 3:54
  Speaker 1: and sure enough, that's exactly what they did. But even
• 3:56
  Speaker 1: though the bell never rang and we never got an

  Speaker 1: official match, hottest thing on the entire show. Fans were

  Speaker 1: super into this. Both guys beating the hell out of
• 4:04
  Speaker 1: each other. What's not to like? So we have the

  Speaker 1: women's tag team titles they were on the line. I

  Speaker 1: enjoyed that match. That was a very good match. And

  Speaker 1: then we had Aj Styles and we had Shinsky knockemore
• 4:18
  Speaker 1: not bad for a match that we got on twenty
• 4:21
  Speaker 1: four hours notice. Couldn't imagine why would Nick all This

  Speaker 1: be inviting AJ Styles to SmackDown last night. Styles just
• 4:30
  Speaker 1: announced on Monday that he was accepting the challenge that

  Speaker 1: Gunther put out for him to get a rematch at
• 4:36
  Speaker 1: the Royal Rumble, but he was going to put his
• 4:39
  Speaker 1: career on the line. And remember on Monday, AJ spoke

  Speaker 1: to his wife and told that in Pierce, I'm doing it.

  Speaker 1: So he got the invitation from Nick all This to

  Speaker 1: be there on SmackDown last night. And he steps aside

  Speaker 1: and he says, well, that's you. I wanted to ask

  Speaker 1: you about that, but that's not the only reason I

  Speaker 1: invited you here to Montreal. He steps aside, and then

  Speaker 1: we see Shinsky Nakamora walk in and Nakamura was questioning

  Speaker 1: his wisdom and putting his career on the line, but said,

  Speaker 1: well you're gonna do this, then why don't you and

  Speaker 1: I have a match. That's how we got this. It

  Speaker 1: was all set up very quickly. There was no sort

  Speaker 1: of hint at it or build or anything like that.

  Speaker 1: It was just two guys who have obviously a history

  Speaker 1: together going back even pre dating WWE, and none of

  Speaker 1: their matches in WWE really stand out too much. Their

  Speaker 1: matches actually got progressively better coming off the very disappointing
• 5:38
  Speaker 1: Wrestle Media match they had eight years ago. But they
• 5:41
  Speaker 1: went out there tonight and what they were promoting as
• 5:44
  Speaker 1: the last time ever, final time one on one AJ
• 5:47
  Speaker 1: Styles and Shinsky Nakimour, and they had an excellent match.

  Speaker 1: They had a fucking killer match tonight. Crowd wasn't exactly

  Speaker 1: hot throughout the entire thing the way they were for

  Speaker 1: John Cena and AJ Styles, but you can understand it

  Speaker 1: because it's Shinsky knock Himore, and let's just be honest, Okay,

  Speaker 1: when was the last time that knock Himour was portrayed

  Speaker 1: as any one of any great relevance on that roster.

  Speaker 1: It's been a while. They dust him off every now

  Speaker 1: and then like a toy on a shelf when they

  Speaker 1: want to play with him, and then they put him

  Speaker 1: the face, including one in particular that I thought Knockamoura

  Speaker 1: silly legit. No, they had a killer match. They had

  Speaker 1: a killer match, and you knew how it was going

  Speaker 1: to go because it's just building to aj match with

  Speaker 1: Gunther next weekend. But I'm so happy the two of

  Speaker 1: them had the chance to go out there and have

  Speaker 1: the kind of match they had tonight, considering some of

  Speaker 1: the weaker matches that they've had in their WWE stin

  Speaker 1: so when you put all that together again, it's not

  Speaker 1: exactly a big card. But for what we got here

  Speaker 1: on this show, I thought it was a very very

  Speaker 1: good show and the best one they've done so far.

  Speaker 1: and we start with a shirtless Fatu. He is walking

  Speaker 1: through the backstage area, cutting a promo on Cody as

  Speaker 1: he makes his way through the back through the gorilla

  Speaker 1: position out to the ring and to a very strong reaction.

  Speaker 1: of them started brawling. Charles Robinson he got knocked over

  Speaker 1: right away. The bell has not rung yet at this point,

  Speaker 1: so there is no match underway, so officials flooded the ring.

  Speaker 1: They tried to calm things down, and then security arrived

  Speaker 1: to pull them apart, even though you know, they could

  Speaker 1: have just rung the bell because these two were scheduled

  Speaker 1: to have a match. We could just ring the bell

  Speaker 1: let him fight, but no, can't do that. So Fa

  Speaker 1: two did a step up leap at one point because

  Speaker 1: Cody was outside. He was being pulled away by the

  Speaker 1: security geeks and they're all piled up outside and Fatuo's

  Speaker 1: in the ring and it's like, oh gee, I wonder,

  Speaker 1: I wonder what he's gonna do. And he goes to

  Speaker 1: like a moon salt the moon salt, right, not a cannonball,

  Speaker 1: but he kind of slipped a little bit. He lost

  Speaker 1: his footing and he hit the move. But the idea

  Speaker 1: was that he would hit Cody and then everybody would

  Speaker 1: fall down. Well, he didn't come anywhere close to Cody.

  Speaker 1: He landed on some of the security geeks, but everybody
• 13:29
  Speaker 1: fell down anyway. So Cody threw Fatu back in the ring,

  Speaker 1: only to closeline him right back out over the top.

  Speaker 1: He landed a suicide dive that sent Fatu sailing over
• 13:41
  Speaker 1: the announced desk, and then Cody posed on top of
• 13:44
  Speaker 1: the desk and it was just mass chaos here. So

  Speaker 1: Fatu tried to exit through the crowd. Cody followed him,
• 13:50
  Speaker 1: and he also got back dropped onto the concrete. Cody
• 13:54
  Speaker 1: got up, he tossed him into some equipment cases that
• 13:57
  Speaker 1: were sitting nearby. So fat to dump Cody into the
• 14:01
  Speaker 1: where the lower bowl seats were in the building, and
• 14:04
  Speaker 1: they started fighting up the stairs. They are fighting their
• 14:08
  Speaker 1: way up the staircase towards the concourse where all of
• 14:11
  Speaker 1: the concessions are. And this took a little while, but
• 14:14
  Speaker 1: eventually they make their way out onto the concourse. So
• 14:16
  Speaker 1: now they're they're you know, you see the merch tables,
• 14:19
  Speaker 1: you see where the food stations are, and Cody grabbed
• 14:22
  Speaker 1: a few different garbage cans. He was bouncing them off
• 14:27
  Speaker 1: some of these security gig There was actually one in
• 14:29
  Speaker 1: particular that was kind of funny. It was almost like
• 14:30
  Speaker 1: a cartoon where he took this you know, plastic garbage
• 14:35
  Speaker 1: can and basically bounced it right off of his head.

  Speaker 1: So he's knocking him down like pins in a bowling alley.

  Speaker 1: Jamie Noble is there. He's begging them to stop. Fatu
• 14:45
  Speaker 1: starts choking Cody, And there was one poor security guard
• 14:48
  Speaker 1: who comes over and he's yelling at them or he's
• 14:51
  Speaker 1: trying to tell them, you know, save it for the rumble,
• 14:54
  Speaker 1: save it for the rumble, save it for the rumble,
• 14:57
  Speaker 1: and for his troubles. Fa too delivered a yuranagi through
• 15:02
  Speaker 1: a nearby merch table, and so that was the end
• 15:06
  Speaker 1: of that guy. So they briefly fought over to where
• 15:08
  Speaker 1: one of the food stations were, and I was kind
• 15:11
  Speaker 1: of hoping they would go like behind there and start
• 15:14
  Speaker 1: from food at each other or something. But this is
• 15:16
  Speaker 1: where like I'm watching this going, man, I know the
• 15:19
  Speaker 1: bell hasn't even run yet. Technically there is no match,
• 15:21
  Speaker 1: but this is a better false count anywhere match than
• 15:24
  Speaker 1: most false count anywhere matches in WWE were they're almost
• 15:28
  Speaker 1: afraid to go to like different parts of the building.

  Speaker 1: Unfortunately that's where it ended. And at that point they

  Speaker 1: took the brawl back into the arena. Nick All, this
• 15:42
  Speaker 1: I noticed, nick All, this was there. So now he's
• 15:44
  Speaker 1: among all of the security people that are trying to
• 15:46
  Speaker 1: get things under control here. So they end up on
• 15:50
  Speaker 1: some boxes and there's another security geek who got in
• 15:55
  Speaker 1: their way, and the two of them grab him and
• 15:57
  Speaker 1: they send him flying backwards onto the waiting pile down

  Speaker 1: below of all the other security geeks waiting to catch him.
• 16:07
  Speaker 1: All of a sudden, Drew McIntyre appears. A while the
• 16:11
  Speaker 1: Drew McIntyre shows up, and he did what twenty different
• 16:16
  Speaker 1: security guards were unable to do. He was able to
• 16:21
  Speaker 1: calm the situation. And the way in which he calmed
• 16:24
  Speaker 1: the situation was he grabbed Jacob and he shoved him
• 16:28
  Speaker 1: backwards off the boxes that they were standing on, and
• 16:32
  Speaker 1: Fatu went crashing through one of the tables down below.
• 16:36
  Speaker 1: So that was the end of Jacob Fatu and as
• 16:38
  Speaker 1: far as Cody is concerned, he gives Cody a low
• 16:40
  Speaker 1: blow and he sets him up for what ended up
• 16:44
  Speaker 1: being actually a pretty good looking jackknife power bomb through
• 16:48
  Speaker 1: one of the other tables down below. It actually kind
• 16:51
  Speaker 1: of reminded me of the bump that Eric Bischoff took
• 16:54
  Speaker 1: at the Great American Bash when Kevin Nash power bomb
• 16:57
  Speaker 1: them off the stage, and Bishop had a farther distance
• 17:03
  Speaker 1: to fall because he was being powerbomb by a seven
• 17:06
  Speaker 1: foot man off the stage that night, but it just
• 17:09
  Speaker 1: kind of reminded me of that a little bit. So
• 17:12
  Speaker 1: it was a good bump there for Cody, and that
• 17:15
  Speaker 1: was it. Both men were taken out and Drew McIntyre
• 17:19
  Speaker 1: finally was able to do what nobody else could do.

  Speaker 1: He'd put an end to this, made his way through
• 17:24
  Speaker 1: the crowd back down to ringside into the ring and

  Speaker 1: he just sort of reveled in all of the chaos
