Latest / Sidekick's What Just Shipped / HubSpot flexible CRM views: calendar, Gantt, and reports on your index | Shipped Dec 2025
Transcript
- Dana (AI host): How many times a day do you leave your deals list just to see a calendar or a chart? Rob (AI host): HubSpot rebuilt the CRM index page so the list can become a board, a calendar, a Gantt chart, or a report, right where you are. Dana (AI host): This is Sidekick's What Just Shipped. Let's go. Narrator (AI voice): This is Sidekick's What Just Shipped, presented by Sidekick Strategies. Narrator (AI voice): Your hosts, Rob and Dana, are AI. Narrator (AI voice): The voices are synthetic, the research is real, and humans check every claim before it reaches you. Rob (AI host): Hey, welcome in! I'm Rob. Rob (AI host): Dana and I are AI hosts, so we see data in every layout at once. Rob (AI host): It's exhausting. Dana (AI host): Poor thing. Okay, what's the index page? Rob (AI host): It's the list you land on for contacts, companies, deals, tickets, or custom objects. Rob (AI host): Our research says before this, it was basically a table with filters bolted on. Dana (AI host): And HubSpot's own reason? Rob (AI host): In their community release post, HubSpot wrote, you told us the index was overwhelming and not flexible enough. Dana (AI host): Honest. So what are the views? Rob (AI host): Our research lists five. Table, board, calendar, Gantt, and report. Rob (AI host): You switch from the view type menu in the upper right. Dana (AI host): Walk me through the new ones. Rob (AI host): Calendar shows records by day, week, or month, based on a date property. Rob (AI host): HubSpot's example is contacts by next activity date, to see upcoming outreach. Dana (AI host): Nice. Gantt? Rob (AI host): HubSpot says Gantt shows timelines for projects, deals, and services, with their associated tasks. Rob (AI host): You can drag a bar's end to change a date, and it autosaves. Dana (AI host): Wait, just those objects? Rob (AI host): That's how HubSpot's help page lists it today. Rob (AI host): Our December research described Gantt more broadly, across records. Rob (AI host): And HubSpot's community post mentions tasks in Gantt view. Rob (AI host): So check which of your objects show it. Dana (AI host): Noted. And report view? Rob (AI host): You build a chart right on the index page. Rob (AI host): Pick a chart type, up to four properties, a dimension, a breakdown, and a comparison, like this year versus last. Rob (AI host): Your view's filters flow into the report. Dana (AI host): That kills a lot of one off dashboards. Rob (AI host): That's the idea. And the page itself changed. Rob (AI host): Our August research says search, filters, sort, and the pipeline selector now live in one toolbar, and saved views show up as tabs across the top. Dana (AI host): And the clutter? Rob (AI host): HubSpot's community post says filters and metrics are collapsible now. Rob (AI host): Hide what you don't need, show it when you do. Dana (AI host): So how did it get here? Rob (AI host): Our research says it went live December 10, 2025, with an opt out through January 21, 2026. Rob (AI host): After that, the new layout was permanent. Dana (AI host): Then? Rob (AI host): On September 4, 2026, HubSpot's community post said the rebuilt index was live for all portals. Rob (AI host): Our research doesn't explain the gap between those dates, and we didn't find a HubSpot page that does. Dana (AI host): Quick break, then who gets which view, and the extras. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Hey, it's George B. Thomas from Sidekick Strategies. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Full honesty, this is my AI voice clone, made with my permission. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): A calendar or Gantt view is only as good as the date properties behind it. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): If close dates are stale, the picture lies. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): At Sidekick, we fix what's broken and build what's missing, and we train your humans to run it. George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Want your team's views built around the data you trust? George B. Thomas (AI voice clone): Book a free strategy call at Sidekick Strategies dot com. Dana (AI host): And we're back. Who gets what? Rob (AI host): Here's a conflict. Rob (AI host): Our December research said free users get table and board, and paid tiers get everything, including AI insights and conditional highlighting, for all paid subscribers. Dana (AI host): And now? Rob (AI host): HubSpot's help page says the index is on all products and plans. Rob (AI host): Calendar, report, and Gantt need Starter, Professional, or Enterprise. Rob (AI host): And customizing board card appearance needs Professional or Enterprise. Dana (AI host): So board is free, the fancy views are Starter, and card styling is Pro. Rob (AI host): Right. What HubSpot's pages don't spell out is the tier for conditional highlighting. Rob (AI host): We couldn't confirm that one. Dana (AI host): What's conditional highlighting? Rob (AI host): Our research says it color flags rows that match rules you set. Rob (AI host): Like deals past their close date that aren't closed won. Dana (AI host): And the AI part? Rob (AI host): HubSpot's community post says you click a button and Breeze Assistant generates insights across your records. Dana (AI host): Metrics too? Rob (AI host): Yes. Rob (AI host): HubSpot's help page says you can add up to six metrics to contacts, companies, deals, and tickets index pages, including custom metrics, then view AI insights or save one as a report. Dana (AI host): Any limits? Rob (AI host): You can't customize metrics on default views, and AI insights need generative AI turned on in your account. Dana (AI host): What about columns? Rob (AI host): HubSpot's help page says in table view you can add, freeze, move, or remove columns, add associations as columns, and even create a new property from the column menu, with the option to prompt Breeze. Dana (AI host): Oh, without opening settings. Rob (AI host): Right. Rob (AI host): And the community post adds that you can use Data Agent to build a smart property, without switching apps. Dana (AI host): Okay. And saving views? Rob (AI host): HubSpot says only the person who created a view tab, or a Super Admin, can save changes to it. Dana (AI host): Huh. That'll surprise some teams. Rob (AI host): It will. One more. Rob (AI host): Our August research says board view lets you set stage colors and create pipeline automations without leaving the index. Dana (AI host): Okay, Monday. Three things. Rob (AI host): One. Pick one list you check daily and try it as a calendar or report. Dana (AI host): Two? Rob (AI host): Two. Check your date properties before you trust a calendar or Gantt. Dana (AI host): And three? Rob (AI host): Three. Rob (AI host): Decide who owns your shared views, since only the creator or a Super Admin can save changes. Dana (AI host): Try, check, own. Got it. Rob (AI host): That's our show. Rob (AI host): The redesigned index went live in December 2025, and HubSpot called it live for all portals in September 2026. Dana (AI host): Our full research is on the HubSpot Updates page at Sidekick Strategies dot com. Rob (AI host): Thanks for listening to Sidekick's What Just Shipped.
