- 0:04Speaker 1: and Matt Flynn.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Okay, here we go where the.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Plays get broken down and science gets denied to come
- 0:10Speaker 1: off the bench. Hour two of Off the Bench Live
- 0:13Speaker 1: from the Mercedes Benz Baton Rouge Studio starts now.
- 0:34Speaker 3: All right, welcome back, Heah Hour number two of O
- 0:37Speaker 3: TV one four five ESPN and Baton Rouge. Let's go
- 0:40Speaker 3: ahead now and get to some weekend winner.
- 0:45Speaker 2: That's how win it has done.
- 0:47Speaker 3: That's right.
- 0:48Speaker 2: We can't have anyone to freak out out there.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Okay, he's got a key bark apologer got too far.
- 0:54Speaker 2: I'm by winning. I went here and I win there.
- 0:58Speaker 3: No one, are you doing what it takes to win
- 1:01Speaker 3: a championship? Wow?
- 1:03Speaker 2: Winning? Well, then I guess there's only one thing left
- 1:06Speaker 2: to do. What's that win the whole thing? All right?
- 1:16Speaker 3: We'll start off with Clayton Kershaw weekend winner. He becomes
- 1:21Speaker 3: only the fourth left handed pitcher to ever mass three
- 1:26Speaker 3: thousand career strikeouts. Obviously, longevity has to play a big part,
- 1:33Speaker 3: and then you gotta play for a long time, you
- 1:34Speaker 3: gotta stay healthy, and you gotta be good, and he
- 1:37Speaker 3: is all of those things. So Clayton kershall Man, three
- 1:40Speaker 3: times Cy Young Award winner, He's going to actually be
- 1:45Speaker 3: put on the All Star team this year. Kind of
- 1:49Speaker 3: one of those, you know, tip of the cap to
- 1:51Speaker 3: your career because this is going to be, I believe,
- 1:53Speaker 3: his last year to play baseball. I think he was
- 1:56Speaker 3: just trying to get to three thousand. He is now there.
- 1:59Speaker 3: And man, I was at John Smoltz game for the
- 2:02Speaker 3: Braves whenever he got his three thousand strikeout. Doesn't happen
- 2:06Speaker 3: very often. Again, only the fourth left handed pitcher to
- 2:09Speaker 3: ever do it.
- 2:11Speaker 2: That's a big deal. He's such a good pitcher.
- 2:15Speaker 4: And you know, when you're kind of like a five
- 2:19Speaker 4: by night baseball fan like myself, you only really watch
- 2:22Speaker 4: in Major League I've only like watched playoff series in
- 2:24Speaker 4: the last handful of years, and it seems like he's
- 2:26Speaker 4: always getting hit. I don't know if it's that. Is
- 2:30Speaker 4: that a thing with him? I feel like it's always
- 2:32Speaker 4: kind of like in the playoffs, he just doesn't show
- 2:34Speaker 4: up like he does in the regular season.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Man, well, just hating this guy. I after to put
- 2:38Speaker 3: him in a weekend Was that a thing? Though he's
- 2:41Speaker 3: not as good in the postseason? As he is kind.
- 2:44Speaker 4: I mean, and like, you know, one bat out in
- 2:46Speaker 4: a you know, in a playoff, can make it seem
- 2:48Speaker 4: like you're not a playoff dude. But pretty cool. Three thousand.
- 2:52Speaker 4: I'm gonna keep it here in the Major League baseballs.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Oh yeah, the major League Major.
- 2:57Speaker 2: League Baseball at the MLB Chicago Cubs. I don't know.
- 3:03Speaker 4: If there's many things more American then their team, shout
- 3:07Speaker 4: out to them.
- 3:08Speaker 2: They've been a team a while.
- 3:09Speaker 4: There's not nothing much more American than Wrigley filled, especially
- 3:14Speaker 4: Riggy Field on July fourth. But on this July fourth,
- 3:17Speaker 4: Chicago Cubs set a new franchise record eight home runs
- 3:22Speaker 4: in a single game. That's eight dingers if you're counting.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Yeah, and that is.
- 3:27Speaker 4: It's a feat that's only been done twenty three times
- 3:31Speaker 4: in Major League Baseball history.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Eight home runs in one game.
- 3:34Speaker 4: Let's see here, Michael Bush, I think first basement hitting
- 3:37Speaker 4: three home runs, three of them three dingers. So shout out.
- 3:42Speaker 4: They've been playing baseball a long time. So anytime you
- 3:45Speaker 4: can set a franchise record in a positive way from
- 3:49Speaker 4: an organization been playing baseball that long is pretty darn good,
- 3:52Speaker 4: especially cool being on July fourth, yep.
- 3:55Speaker 3: I was watching the game, was impressed.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Run Yeah, I agree.
- 4:01Speaker 5: So I have quite a few weekend winners on like
- 4:04Speaker 5: the entire weekend. But if we're gonna keep it with baseball,
- 4:07Speaker 5: got a couple LSU Baseball MLB weekend winners Paul Skeens
- 4:12Speaker 5: and Alex Bregman, both named to All the All Star
- 4:16Speaker 5: teams for twenty twenty five. So shout out to them.
- 4:20Speaker 6: Poor Paul. Get him out of get him out of Pittsburgh. Yeah.
- 4:26Speaker 6: Also real quick before I like move on to Taylor.
- 4:32Speaker 5: Huge weekend winners to the All American Rejects and the
- 4:36Speaker 5: Savannah Bananas. Ya I know that the Savannah Bananas for
- 4:41Speaker 5: some reason, you know, the Internet always turns on things
- 4:45Speaker 5: that people enjoy, Like people really love the Savannah Bananas,
- 4:48Speaker 5: and now the internet's kind of turning.
- 4:51Speaker 6: On the Savannah Bananas. I love them. Taylor, you can play.
- 4:53Speaker 6: We don't need the It's fine, we don't need the sound.
- 4:57Speaker 5: But you know, All American Rejects has been going to
- 5:00Speaker 5: around to like house and frat parties and stuff like
- 5:02Speaker 5: that and doing like pop up concerts. So they did
- 5:04Speaker 5: it at the Savannah Bananas. And this is just great
- 5:07Speaker 5: marketing for everybody involved. And I love it so much
- 5:10Speaker 5: because I just love what the All American Rejects are
- 5:13Speaker 5: doing with the house tours in general, and then to
- 5:16Speaker 5: like partner it with something like the Savannah Bananas is
- 5:20Speaker 5: so great.
- 5:20Speaker 6: I love it. So we can winners.
- 5:22Speaker 5: All American Rejects and the Savannah Bananas they were seeking
- 5:25Speaker 5: move along.
- 5:26Speaker 3: I mean they are so massive, massive stadium. Yeah, it
- 5:32Speaker 3: is just wild. Like good on them for coming up
- 5:37Speaker 3: with an idea and perfecting it and becoming the Parlem
- 5:40Speaker 3: Globe Trotters of baseball.
- 5:43Speaker 2: I mean, I mean like Times of thousand.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Well, I'm saying like like when our parents were younger,
- 5:49Speaker 3: like the Globetrotters probably felt something like this though. I
- 5:53Speaker 3: mean they were mass they're not now like I mean
- 5:57Speaker 3: now they come to the River Center and there's you know,
- 5:59Speaker 3: a couple hundred people there. But there was a day where.
- 6:02Speaker 4: You got to think something like the Savanna Bananas doesn't
- 6:04Speaker 4: happen to this extent without social media.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what.
- 6:09Speaker 4: You can't recreate the Harlem Globe Triter so in a
- 6:11Speaker 4: completely different sport and like do it better.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Yeah, without the influence they sold out.
- 6:17Speaker 6: Look at that, that's I think that's why I love
- 6:19Speaker 6: all of this so much.
- 6:21Speaker 5: Those because like Savannah Bananas are very like on the internet,
- 6:26Speaker 5: they go viral all the time. The All American Rejects,
- 6:29Speaker 5: nobody really talked about them anymore, and then they start
- 6:32Speaker 5: doing these house tours. It starts going viral on Twitter,
- 6:35Speaker 5: on TikTok, all that stuff, and then they partner it
- 6:37Speaker 5: up and they're just.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Like like, they're not a They're not a weekend winner.
- 6:41Speaker 4: All American Rejects are a summer.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Winter Yeah, now I agree.
- 6:45Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 6:46Speaker 4: How long do you think it took the crowd to
- 6:47Speaker 4: realize that that wasn't a Savannah Banana player coming out
- 6:51Speaker 4: because they do that too. They're like lipsync stuff coming
- 6:54Speaker 4: out of the coming out of the stands. And then
- 6:57Speaker 4: they're like, oh all of finway was like.
- 7:02Speaker 2: All right, cool.
- 7:02Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't know, but that's awesome. We can winner them.
- 7:05Speaker 7: They stayed by the bananas and dug out the entire
- 7:08Speaker 7: game between.
- 7:11Speaker 2: After they did this, they stayed the whole game.
- 7:13Speaker 3: Pretty cool. Good on them.
- 7:15Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 7:17Speaker 3: All right, what you got ye?
- 7:18Speaker 7: I saw somebody put this in the dog So if
- 7:20Speaker 7: it's Jake er Matt's uh didn't mean to steal it.
- 7:23Speaker 2: It was just something that I thought I was going
- 7:24Speaker 2: to do.
- 7:25Speaker 7: Earlier in the show, Garrett and Am engage to his
- 7:28Speaker 7: girlfriend Ellis Springfield over the weekend.
- 7:31Speaker 2: So shout out, what.
- 7:35Speaker 6: More driver on the nuts bus?
- 7:38Speaker 4: Yeah right, get yourself engaged, dras all the decisions.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Yeah right, someone that also got engaged in college.
- 7:47Speaker 3: I did married, right you when did you get married?
- 7:51Speaker 3: I got married this summer going into my senior season.
- 7:54Speaker 4: You want a national championship that you're just saying you
- 7:57Speaker 4: think that Will asked me to be nusher.
- 8:04Speaker 2: Different.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Well, actually I take that back. He was gonna come
- 8:07Speaker 3: on a couple of weeks ago, but it was when
- 8:09Speaker 3: you were going out of town and we haven't been
- 8:12Speaker 3: able to reschedule him to come back on the show.
- 8:14Speaker 3: He was coming on that Wednesday, Wait to go map, Yeah,
- 8:17Speaker 3: you know what, I should have just had him on.
- 8:19Speaker 6: Should have?
- 8:20Speaker 3: I was like, no, know what, wait, Flynn, Yeah, quarterback
- 8:23Speaker 3: to quarterback.
- 8:24Speaker 4: It's not my fault either, Sure as hellen in mine.
- 8:29Speaker 3: You went at town, you turned forty. As far as that.
- 8:34Speaker 4: You asked me to do this job, I said, I
- 8:36Speaker 4: gotta go out of town this week, said all right,
- 8:39Speaker 4: that's no problem.
- 8:41Speaker 3: We'll see you've been getting back.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Oh, we will. He's a list. He's listening right now.
- 8:45Speaker 3: You're doing uh weekend winter not for something he did
- 8:49Speaker 3: just this weekend, but for a stat that I saw
- 8:52Speaker 3: and you know, continues to play really really well. Former
- 8:56Speaker 3: L s U baseball player Josh Smith. Oh yeah, so,
- 9:00Speaker 3: like right now he's leading the Rangers in batting average.
- 9:04Speaker 3: He's an everyday player, ultimate like utility player, can play
- 9:07Speaker 3: so many different positions. He's got eight home runs on
- 9:11Speaker 3: the year, eight stolen bases, but he's got the most
- 9:14Speaker 3: hits for the Rangers as well, with seventy eight best
- 9:18Speaker 3: on base percent. He's crushing it. Okay. Based off his contract,
- 9:23Speaker 3: he has outplayed his current contract by thirty seven million dollars.
- 9:29Speaker 3: What's the stat that's crazy, thirty seven million dollars. He's
- 9:33Speaker 3: making barely over a million dollars right now in salary.
- 9:37Speaker 3: He's overplayed that by thirty seven million dollars because like
- 9:43Speaker 3: thirty change.
- 9:45Speaker 5: Yeah, Josh Smith already has already has a World Series ring.
- 9:49Speaker 3: Yeah two, So yeah, he's gonna get paid because again,
- 9:52Speaker 3: like he plays everywhere, he plays all over the diamond.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Whatever you need him to do. And he's leading an
- 9:57Speaker 3: average on base percentage and hits this year for the Rangers.
- 10:00Speaker 3: So shout out Smith.
- 10:03Speaker 4: Week in Winter. We don't do a lot of losers
- 10:05Speaker 4: around here. We're positive people.
- 10:07Speaker 6: I actually feel like I do losers quite a bit. No,
- 10:10Speaker 6: I don't have them today, but I do losers quite
- 10:12Speaker 6: a bit.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Another week in Winter Ozzy Osbourne.
- 10:19Speaker 4: So a farewell concert, a final concert, and a lot
- 10:23Speaker 4: of times these things can be cringe, especially with like
- 10:26Speaker 4: older bands that were popular in the seventh.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Yeah, like we've.
- 10:30Speaker 4: Seen something like it's just like all right, we know
- 10:33Speaker 4: they're out there. They probably don't need to be. But
- 10:35Speaker 4: this one was really really well done. He rocked it.
- 10:41Speaker 4: He didn't He was up in a chair and he
- 10:43Speaker 4: didn't move. He didn't try to do it like they
- 10:44Speaker 4: had this farewell It was one last.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Come let's do. The video absolutely.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Has many old plus a little first lifestyle we do
- 11:00Speaker 3: from the BLOA I Love you.
- 11:04Speaker 6: I'm not sure if he cusses in this wow probably
- 11:09Speaker 6: wait wait wait okay, no, he's singing right now. It's fine.
- 11:14Speaker 6: He's doing Paranoid.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I think he finished with Paranoid.
- 11:17Speaker 4: He plays ahead, but like, uh, the when they when
- 11:20Speaker 4: they played my Mom Coming Home.
- 11:22Speaker 2: It was great.
- 11:23Speaker 6: Yeah, it was great.
- 11:24Speaker 3: I will cut it. We'll cut it. A great job though. Anyway, Yeah,
- 11:27Speaker 3: you know that sit in that chair and just rock
- 11:29Speaker 3: it out.
- 11:29Speaker 4: Yeah, if you haven't seen it, go watch some of
- 11:31Speaker 4: the clips, go watch it. Like it was a really
- 11:33Speaker 4: well done and like I said, a lot of times,
- 11:34Speaker 4: these things don't hit like you think they should or
- 11:37Speaker 4: you want them to. But that was And then I
- 11:39Speaker 4: saw that his daughter Kelly Osborne got engaged, right, and.
- 11:42Speaker 5: Then let's go absolutely, Yeah, it was great. They so
- 11:49Speaker 5: he has Parkinson's Yeah, poor Ozzie and that.
- 11:53Speaker 6: Was like his last show ever.
- 11:54Speaker 5: But he still sounded fine for somebody that's seventy six
- 11:58Speaker 5: years old and with Parkinson.
- 12:00Speaker 6: But it was great.
- 12:02Speaker 5: But I feel like it's probably weird to him or
- 12:05Speaker 5: like to the rest of Black Sabbaths too, because it
- 12:07Speaker 5: almost kind of feels like you're like your own funeral
- 12:09Speaker 5: a little bit, because everyone's like paying tribute to you
- 12:11Speaker 5: and being like we love you, Azzy, Like I don't know,
- 12:15Speaker 5: it's probably a little bit of both, Yeah, like weird
- 12:18Speaker 5: but also alsome at the same time.
- 12:21Speaker 3: What your band would y'all like, do you want to
- 12:24Speaker 3: see like one more like, all right, let's go out
- 12:26Speaker 3: with a bang. Let's set this up. I don't need you.
- 12:28Speaker 3: I don't need you going around the world tour anymore.
- 12:31Speaker 3: Let's just have one night where you get to you know,
- 12:34Speaker 3: bow out Zeby.
- 12:37Speaker 5: All right, they would still sound good.
- 12:40Speaker 3: They still sound good, I think.
- 12:42Speaker 5: Yeah, Man, that's a really good but hard question, that
- 12:46Speaker 5: one a little bit.
- 12:47Speaker 6: Yeah, that's to be like another.
- 12:50Speaker 5: So I have to like really Fleetwood Mac since I'm
- 12:53Speaker 5: like listening to them right.
- 12:54Speaker 7: Now, Okay, I mean when you say they have to
- 13:00Speaker 7: sound good, like I'd love to see Motley Crew, but
- 13:03Speaker 7: they sound terrible now.
- 13:04Speaker 2: They're still going.
- 13:05Speaker 7: So like that would that would have been my choice
- 13:07Speaker 7: if they didn't currently sound bad. I mean I've always
- 13:10Speaker 7: been a big a C d C fan, like them
- 13:12Speaker 7: in their prime, like they'd be.
- 13:14Speaker 3: I know, did you see the video of them recently?
- 13:16Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying. I haven't. And if they sound good.
- 13:19Speaker 3: It wasn't like they didn't sound awful, but man, they
- 13:21Speaker 3: looked old out there. It was hard.
- 13:24Speaker 7: You see the most recent uh like Axl Rose when
- 13:27Speaker 7: guns and DRIs.
- 13:31Speaker 4: It's it's hard. It's hard to keep that up, like
- 13:34Speaker 4: using your voice like that for you for someone like
- 13:36Speaker 4: a band would sound really good. They gotta be from
- 13:39Speaker 4: like late eighties nineties, right, and I think.
- 13:46Speaker 6: I'm yeah, he's still he sounds great. Last yesterday.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Hey, hey go go enjoy life, man. Yeah, you need
- 13:57Speaker 3: to be out here every I think they do one
- 14:01Speaker 3: a year, Okay, Steve, Steve, chill out. Well I call
- 14:07Speaker 3: it Steve. You know we're boys.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Yeah, chill out.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Bruh. You don't have to hit that note on dream
- 14:13Speaker 3: on anymore.
- 14:13Speaker 6: What if, like, what if we could bring back like
- 14:16Speaker 6: a dead band, how about that band are like or
- 14:20Speaker 6: singer got changes it changes.
- 14:25Speaker 3: I mean I'm wearing Elvis today.
- 14:28Speaker 6: Yeah, I think going Amy Winehouse.
- 14:30Speaker 3: That's a good one and like.
- 14:32Speaker 6: A small intimate setting.
- 14:33Speaker 3: H bring back a band.
- 14:37Speaker 2: John Lennon, Oh so true.
- 14:40Speaker 5: In the chat, says I can't believe no one has
- 14:42Speaker 5: said Oasis as a week in winter.
- 14:44Speaker 2: So true.
- 14:45Speaker 5: Their show's kicked off this weekend, so shut out.
- 14:48Speaker 3: You'll see the videos.
- 14:49Speaker 6: The Gallagher brothers. Yeah, they're awesome.
- 14:51Speaker 3: There was all the people there. I don't know how many,
- 14:53Speaker 3: but it was all of them.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Yeah, Otis Redding oh gone right? Uh?
- 15:00Speaker 3: Sam Cook gone way too soon. Sam Cook, legendary clean,
- 15:07Speaker 3: Freddy Mercury. That might be the answer.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Actually, all right, the answer.
- 15:12Speaker 3: I'll go Freddie Mercury, lad Queen financing because I know
- 15:18Speaker 3: that they're still touring and they had different lead singers,
- 15:20Speaker 3: but ain't nobody Freddy Murky. So when we come back,
- 15:26Speaker 3: I hope he's ready. Who you. Matt Flynn gives you
- 15:33Speaker 3: full of breakdown of Clemson quarterback Kate as he's been
- 15:38Speaker 3: preparing for about a.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Week, still trying to figure out what I'm gonna say here.
- 15:45Speaker 3: He'll come to you organically.
- 15:46Speaker 2: It's gonna be good, It's it gonna be bad. I
- 15:47Speaker 2: don't know.
- 15:48Speaker 3: We'll see stick around and find out. O TB the bench,

- 17:33Speaker 8: Let's Jay Brea.
- 17:39Speaker 2: J she.
- 17:47Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in OTB one four five ESPN
- 17:50Speaker 3: Beton Rouge And now we gave Flynn a task last
- 17:57Speaker 3: week to kind of give us a profile on Clemson
- 18:00Speaker 3: starting quarterback Cade Club Nick. As we all know that
- 18:04Speaker 3: is who LSU is going to face in the opener.
- 18:07Speaker 3: We also know that he is a Heisman Trophy front
- 18:11Speaker 3: runner right now, and a lot of different betting sites
- 18:15Speaker 3: some that you know he is, like I said, the
- 18:18Speaker 3: front runner, but at worst he's going to be like third.
- 18:21Speaker 3: So it is going to be a true Heisman quarterback
- 18:24Speaker 3: battle in Clemson South Carolina. And so we put our
- 18:27Speaker 3: QB one to review their QB one.
- 18:32Speaker 4: Yeah, I've actually I've really enjoyed the process of like
- 18:35Speaker 4: going back and watching some game film. Now I didn't, like,
- 18:38Speaker 4: I haven't gone through every single play he's ever played in,
- 18:42Speaker 4: but I tried to take a.
- 18:45Speaker 2: I tried to go through.
- 18:46Speaker 4: And look at one game that wasn't very good yep,
- 18:49Speaker 4: which was their loss against South Carolina. Then I tried
- 18:52Speaker 4: to go and look at one game that was said
- 18:54Speaker 4: to be pretty good, which was the week after the
- 18:57Speaker 4: South Carolina loss against SMU yep. So we try to
- 19:00Speaker 4: break down that film and just kind of get a
- 19:03Speaker 4: feel for who cad Clubnick is as a quarterback. So
- 19:06Speaker 4: you know, I want to paint a picture of him.
- 19:08Speaker 4: So I want to like kind of go back, give
- 19:09Speaker 4: you a little bit of the stats where he came from.
- 19:14Speaker 3: So he is.
- 19:17Speaker 4: An amazing Texas high school football quarterback. All right, so
- 19:20Speaker 4: he's from Austin west Lake. Everybody knows Austin Westlake. Drew Brees,
- 19:25Speaker 4: Big Stick, Nick, Nick Foles, Sam Ellinger, They've all come
- 19:30Speaker 4: from there. So they have like a lot of tradition
- 19:32Speaker 4: of this high school big six a school. And Taylor
- 19:35Speaker 4: told me this last week or maybe it was two
- 19:37Speaker 4: weeks ago. In this twenty twenty state championship faced off
- 19:41Speaker 4: against south Lake Carol. It was quarterback by mister quinn Ewers,
- 19:44Speaker 4: So it was a cad Clubnick quinn Youers battle Kate
- 19:47Speaker 4: Clubnick's team ended up winning. I think it was like
- 19:49Speaker 4: fifty one, like thirty three or something like that kind
- 19:52Speaker 4: of a shootout. Quinn Ewers was the top quarterback in
- 19:55Speaker 4: the state. Cade was like the young up and comer
- 19:58Speaker 4: and they once so of course they they got rematched
- 20:01Speaker 4: last year and there was a cool there's a cool
- 20:03Speaker 4: little like a lead up build up to the game
- 20:06Speaker 4: highlight where quin Years didn't look too pleased that he
- 20:09Speaker 4: lost that game in high school. But looking back on him,
- 20:12Speaker 4: let's see, he is a guy that is a absolute competitive,
- 20:18Speaker 4: hard nos gritty little player, and it's something that you
- 20:24Speaker 4: have to be aware of his accuracy passing, but first
- 20:28Speaker 4: and foremost, you got to stop him from being able
- 20:30Speaker 4: to run the football. The kid runs a four to
- 20:32Speaker 4: sixty five. He's absolutely dynamic when running the football. Last
- 20:36Speaker 4: year he had on paper at four hundred and sixty
- 20:39Speaker 4: three rushing yards on one hundred and nineteen attempts, But
- 20:42Speaker 4: if you take out the sack yardage, he had six
- 20:44Speaker 4: hundred and twenty yards rushing on ninety six actual run attempts.
- 20:50Speaker 4: So if you're counting, that's like almost six and a
- 20:52Speaker 4: half yards per every time he touched the ball. And
- 20:55Speaker 4: that's and that's calculating quarterback sneaks in there, that's calculating
- 20:58Speaker 4: a lot of things. So he's making explosive plays with
- 21:01Speaker 4: his feet, and so for that, you have to have
- 21:06Speaker 4: very consistent, detailed defensive line play. You have to have
- 21:10Speaker 4: good linebacker play, you have to have good inside safety play.
- 21:13Speaker 2: Passing yards last year.
- 21:14Speaker 4: Three thy six and thirty nine yards, sixty three point
- 21:18Speaker 4: four completion percentage, thirty six touchdowns, and one of the
- 21:22Speaker 4: more impressive stats that he had last year only six picks.
- 21:26Speaker 4: Now this comes a little caveat he should have had more.
- 21:31Speaker 4: He there was some dropped interceptions. There were some plays
- 21:33Speaker 4: that DB's didn't make on the ball. He'm not going
- 21:36Speaker 4: to say he's like the most he's the best reader
- 21:38Speaker 4: of defenses I've ever seen, but we'll get to that
- 21:43Speaker 4: in just a second. So total three hundred and eight completions,
- 21:45Speaker 4: four hunder and eighty six attempts. Last year, their team
- 21:48Speaker 4: record they were ten to four, his career record as
- 21:51Speaker 4: a starter in nineteen to nine. But one of the
- 21:52Speaker 4: bigger things for him this year is he's returning his
- 21:55Speaker 4: top three targets from last year. He loses a tight end,
- 21:59Speaker 4: but his top three Tony Williams, Bryant Westco, TJ.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Moore, each of the let's see.
- 22:04Speaker 4: Antonio Williams had nine hundred four yards receiving eleven touchdowns
- 22:07Speaker 4: last year, Bryan Westco Seven hundred and eight yards, five tds, TJ.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Moore six hundred and fifty one yards and five touchdowns.
- 22:13Speaker 4: So you talk about LSU's also bringing back a lot
- 22:17Speaker 4: of people, an experienced quarterback, experience, wide receivers explosiveness. So
- 22:21Speaker 4: does Clemson. So they're going to match up pretty well
- 22:25Speaker 4: with us from the on the offensive side of the ball.
- 22:27Speaker 4: So that is one thing to look at is they
- 22:29Speaker 4: have a lot of experience in their passing game. Their
- 22:32Speaker 4: losses last year, they lost the UGA and the opener
- 22:34Speaker 4: thirty four to three. Louisville at home they lost thirty
- 22:37Speaker 4: three to twenty one. They lost the South Carolina last
- 22:39Speaker 4: game of the regular season seventeen fourteen, and of course
- 22:43Speaker 4: they lost that rematch to Clint you Wers thirty eight
- 22:45Speaker 4: twenty four. When I look at him and I try
- 22:49Speaker 4: to diagnose him as a quarterback, I see a guy
- 22:52Speaker 4: that is very competitive.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Creates a lot.
- 22:55Speaker 4: Of issues, matchup issues because he has that ability to
- 22:58Speaker 4: run and he's not afraid to take hit either. He's
- 23:00Speaker 4: not a guy that's going to get out there take
- 23:02Speaker 4: a slide. They are running him on a lot of
- 23:04Speaker 4: quarterback quarterback powers, quarterback counters. They're not afraid to call
- 23:09Speaker 4: his number and let him run through the B and
- 23:11Speaker 4: C gap. They so they they it's a challenge for
- 23:14Speaker 4: defensive corners. But when I look at him as a
- 23:16Speaker 4: straight passer, the guy's extremely accurate. So if he throws
- 23:20Speaker 4: the ball on time, if he knows where he's going,
- 23:23Speaker 4: he doesn't miss his target. He's hitting the window of
- 23:25Speaker 4: where he wants to throw it. The problem the knock
- 23:29Speaker 4: I have on him is is he's not well. He's
- 23:32Speaker 4: a very good quarterback, but he's very unpolished as a passer,
- 23:35Speaker 4: so his footwork is not dialed in to his offensive
- 23:40Speaker 4: to the plays that they're running. So what I mean
- 23:43Speaker 4: by that is, if you're in the gun and you
- 23:45Speaker 4: have a three step drop, there's lots of plays that
- 23:48Speaker 4: are a three So if you do a three step
- 23:49Speaker 4: drop in the gun, it's equivalent to a five step
- 23:52Speaker 4: drop from a timing perspective, a five step drop underneath center.
- 23:55Speaker 2: So I would say probably.
- 23:59Speaker 4: Seventy sixty to seventy percent of past plays that an
- 24:03Speaker 4: offense has is that five step under center, timing three
- 24:06Speaker 4: step under center, or a three step in the gun. However,
- 24:10Speaker 4: depending on what play it is, there's no three step
- 24:13Speaker 4: out of gun dropback that is built the same. There's
- 24:15Speaker 4: different timing if you're running a snack rout, if you're
- 24:17Speaker 4: running a smasherroute, if you're running a all go or
- 24:21Speaker 4: all vertical type like, there's different timing to every three
- 24:24Speaker 4: step drop, and you have to be ready. When I
- 24:26Speaker 4: watch him, and the problem I had, and the only
- 24:30Speaker 4: negative part of his game that I saw was his
- 24:33Speaker 4: footwork was very unpolished. His timing was off on a
- 24:38Speaker 4: lot of routes. Guys were open and he wasn't He
- 24:42Speaker 4: wasn't ready to throw the ball because his footwork wasn't
- 24:44Speaker 4: there yet, or he got his footwork ready too early
- 24:47Speaker 4: and he was already on his second hitch up into
- 24:50Speaker 4: the pocket when the play was just develop into where
- 24:53Speaker 4: he needed a throw. So that is the one kind
- 24:56Speaker 4: of knock that I had on him. And you see
- 24:57Speaker 4: it time and time again, and you see like, because
- 24:59Speaker 4: he's talented and accurate, he overcomes it. And in the
- 25:02Speaker 4: college game he overcomes it. That will not translate to
- 25:05Speaker 4: the NFL the next level unless he cleans it up.
- 25:08Speaker 4: But there's nothing in his game that tells me he
- 25:11Speaker 4: wouldn't be able to clean it up. He's got all
- 25:13Speaker 4: the skills and all the all the intangible things that
- 25:15Speaker 4: you want, Like you can you can bring the pressure
- 25:18Speaker 4: and he's gonna sit there and he's gonna take a
- 25:19Speaker 4: shot under the chin and deliver a ball. Yeah that's
- 25:22Speaker 4: just what he does. But AI, yeah, for sure. But
- 25:26Speaker 4: you go and watch the South Carolina. He missed a
- 25:29Speaker 4: lot of reads in the South Carolina game. He pre
- 25:32Speaker 4: snap reads weren't great, So I'm not gonna say that
- 25:35Speaker 4: he is the best right now from a pre snap
- 25:38Speaker 4: read perspective or a post snap read perspective. I watched
- 25:42Speaker 4: a couple of games early on in the year. I
- 25:43Speaker 4: think the first game they played was against Akron, I believe,
- 25:47Speaker 4: and I think, I mean, his stats were GOTTI for
- 25:49Speaker 4: the season, but he had like seven or eight total
- 25:50Speaker 4: touchdowns in Akron the first game or maybe the second
- 25:53Speaker 4: game of the season, real early on.
- 25:57Speaker 2: I got the a right, nailed that.
- 26:01Speaker 4: But even in that game, and like, he doesn't read
- 26:04Speaker 4: safeties well, he doesn't read the angles that they're taking,
- 26:08Speaker 4: he doesn't read the body language that they have that
- 26:12Speaker 4: there's multiple passes that could have been either batted down
- 26:16Speaker 4: or intercepted with good safety play that ended up going
- 26:19Speaker 4: for touchdowns.
- 26:19Speaker 2: And you see that a lot. You have to have
- 26:20Speaker 2: good fortune in all sports.
- 26:22Speaker 4: But when we're talking about a potential first rounder, a
- 26:25Speaker 4: potential Heisman candidate, those are the things that I look
- 26:27Speaker 4: for in a quarterback. Okay, you made the throw and
- 26:30Speaker 4: it was a seventy yard touchdown, But for one, should
- 26:34Speaker 4: you have made the throw?
- 26:35Speaker 2: Should it have been intercepted?
- 26:36Speaker 4: Should like, did the defense miss an opportunity there that
- 26:39Speaker 4: just ended up being on Cade's highlight film, And I
- 26:42Speaker 4: did see that a lot. Now you're going to see
- 26:44Speaker 4: that in college football, and I'd say everything with a
- 26:47Speaker 4: grain of salt because I know I haven't watched game
- 26:50Speaker 4: film and broke down a quarterback like that in detail
- 26:53Speaker 4: in a long time, especially in college. So I'm kind
- 26:55Speaker 4: of like looking at this from an NFL perspective, knowing
- 26:58Speaker 4: that this kid is young, knowing that he's got a
- 27:00Speaker 4: lot of room to grow. But uh, but yeah, extremely talented.
- 27:04Speaker 4: If he can if he cleans up his footwork and
- 27:06Speaker 4: he works his timing progressions better in what they're doing offensively,
- 27:12Speaker 4: he is going to be deadly, deadly and will be
- 27:16Speaker 4: towards the top of a Heisman ballot just because of
- 27:20Speaker 4: because of the talent.
- 27:20Speaker 2: Like I said, he does not miss. He's very very accurate. Oh.
- 27:24Speaker 3: One of the things looking at his passing map that
- 27:26Speaker 3: that did stand out he does have a lot of
- 27:29Speaker 3: incompletions outside of the numbers, like on the sidelines, but
- 27:32Speaker 3: he has a ton of completions on the middle portion
- 27:35Speaker 3: of the football field, which in college is typically the opposite,
- 27:38Speaker 3: like you complete everything on the outside and you struggle
- 27:41Speaker 3: in the middle.
- 27:41Speaker 4: And that's what kind of the games that I watched
- 27:44Speaker 4: that when he was playing poor, their offense was more
- 27:47Speaker 4: focused on outside of the hashes concepts.
- 27:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Now, the games that he did really well in, he
- 27:53Speaker 4: was attacking the middle, and I always say the fastest
- 27:56Speaker 4: way to the end zone is over the middle. Of course,
- 27:58Speaker 4: a go route down down the side looks beautiful, but
- 28:01Speaker 4: it's a low percentage throw. Over the middle is more
- 28:04Speaker 4: of high percentage throws. And if you can negotiate linebacker safeties,
- 28:08Speaker 4: the line of scrimmage, finding finding GAP's viewpoint to get
- 28:11Speaker 4: the ball through to see, then over the middle is
- 28:15Speaker 4: the fastest way to the end zone and you're right
- 28:17Speaker 4: to pass them out. But when they were not successful
- 28:19Speaker 4: was when they were running a lot of outside the
- 28:21Speaker 4: hash concepts, two receiver concepts. It just wasn't getting through
- 28:25Speaker 4: his progressions quite as well. So that's what I saw.
- 28:30Speaker 4: And then reading body language and safety. So the key
- 28:34Speaker 4: to stopping kde club ning is going to be defensive
- 28:37Speaker 4: line being very disciplined, stay gap sound, stay gap ready.
- 28:41Speaker 4: And when they stopped him, when teams stopped him running,
- 28:45Speaker 4: they were I can't remember the name the defensive lineman,
- 28:48Speaker 4: a defensive ends call it the coaches call it where
- 28:50Speaker 4: they rush and they never get past them. So they
- 28:53Speaker 4: rushed to the quarterbacks level. But no further. You know,
- 28:56Speaker 4: traditionally against the pocket passers, they're going to rush the
- 28:58Speaker 4: DEFENSEI gun is gonna swipe, he's gonna come around, he's
- 29:00Speaker 4: going to try to come over the back arm of
- 29:02Speaker 4: the quarterback. But when you have a quarterback that's a
- 29:05Speaker 4: dual threat guy like this, you never rush past the
- 29:07Speaker 4: parallel the yard line he's on because you know he's
- 29:10Speaker 4: going to try to step up. And then if you're
- 29:12Speaker 4: all kind of on the same level, you can close
- 29:14Speaker 4: those gaps.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Then it changes. It changes kind of your mentality when
- 29:16Speaker 3: you're rushing too, you can't be as aggressive.
- 29:18Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure. You want to see if we can
- 29:21Speaker 4: do this? You sure, all right, we're going to see.
- 29:24Speaker 4: This is a first thing. We didn't even practice this.
- 29:26Speaker 4: We're going to see if we can play. So I
- 29:30Speaker 4: got a couple of clips. I want to show you
- 29:32Speaker 4: a little bit of what I'm talking about. On a
- 29:34Speaker 4: bad decision. So this is against SMU. Okay, this is
- 29:41Speaker 4: the end of the game. So this is for the
- 29:42Speaker 4: A SEC championship, isn't it. We're gonna troubleshoot this.
- 29:50Speaker 2: No, this is it.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Sorry it was he showed me that play the other day.
- 29:54Speaker 2: All right, So.
- 29:56Speaker 5: Well, says acc championship on the thing.
- 30:00Speaker 4: To make sure this was the right player, right, all right.
- 30:03Speaker 4: So this is third and seven on their own territory.
- 30:04Speaker 4: They're up thirty one to twenty four. Okay, so we
- 30:07Speaker 4: call this as four minutes left in the game. For
- 30:09Speaker 4: four minutes eleven seconds, I'm like, this is what we
- 30:11Speaker 4: call a four minute situation. Number one job of the quarterback.
- 30:14Speaker 4: Take care of the ball. Okay, so if you get
- 30:17Speaker 4: a first down, you can run clock off.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Game is over.
- 30:20Speaker 4: So number one job of the quarterback, make a good decision,
- 30:24Speaker 4: take care of the football. So this is what I'm
- 30:26Speaker 4: talking about, his footwork being undisciplined a little bit and
- 30:30Speaker 4: making a poor decision, reading safeties incorrectly. So what you
- 30:35Speaker 4: got third and seven. They rang the ball the first down.
- 30:37Speaker 4: Second down, My guy's gonna take a three step drop
- 30:40Speaker 4: right here, and he's going to escape the pocket too soon.
- 30:42Speaker 4: His footwork doesn't even get set and he's going to
- 30:45Speaker 4: be escaping the pocket to the right. This play does
- 30:48Speaker 4: not call for that he wants that you want to
- 30:50Speaker 4: set up and read it. If he just takes a
- 30:52Speaker 4: normal three step drop, he's got the outside receiver a
- 30:56Speaker 4: little delayed under out boom, first down, keep going. But
- 31:00Speaker 4: he takes off running before his feet are set because
- 31:02Speaker 4: he knows it's a big part of the games.
- 31:03Speaker 2: Third and seven.
- 31:04Speaker 4: I feel really comfortable outside of the pocket running And
- 31:07Speaker 4: what does he do next? He does that makes a
- 31:09Speaker 4: bad decision.
- 31:10Speaker 2: There.
- 31:10Speaker 4: Last thing you want to do is a quarterback. So
- 31:12Speaker 4: it laid over the middle. A SEC championship should have
- 31:16Speaker 4: thrown an interception right there, laid over the middle.
- 31:18Speaker 3: The entire sideline.
- 31:20Speaker 2: So again they are up by seven point. Here go back.
- 31:23Speaker 4: We're gonna watch the in zone, so the same play
- 31:27Speaker 4: end zone copy. You can kind of see the bad
- 31:29Speaker 4: throwing decision based on this.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Yeah, you also see him like we were talking about earlier,
- 31:33Speaker 3: like he's leaving late pocket.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Leaving the pocket.
- 31:36Speaker 4: It's clean, no reason to bad decision should have been picked.
- 31:41Speaker 3: And you're right if he hits the end route on
- 31:43Speaker 3: the outside of timing, yeap, that guy didn't. He didn't
- 31:46Speaker 3: even take a hit either, like you might think. All
- 31:48Speaker 3: that linebacker's pushing to him, but he catches that and
- 31:50Speaker 3: gets upfield.
- 31:51Speaker 4: I mean that's a that's a very basic play. It's
- 31:54Speaker 4: a very high percentage throw, especially against a little delayed
- 31:58Speaker 4: you'd call a slant under whatever it is. But big
- 32:01Speaker 4: time situation, in a big time game, you kind of
- 32:04Speaker 4: revert back. If you're not disciplined, you kind of revert
- 32:07Speaker 4: back to your comfortability. His comfortability is rolling out to
- 32:10Speaker 4: his right, and that always is for a writing is
- 32:12Speaker 4: going to be rolling out right.
- 32:13Speaker 2: So you saw it come to play there.
- 32:15Speaker 3: All right, let's get it in the right.
- 32:19Speaker 6: I feel like I learned so done. I learned about
- 32:21Speaker 6: the four minute Yeah, four four minute offense.
- 32:25Speaker 5: It means you want to more minutes left in the game,
- 32:28Speaker 5: or for any four minutes, four minutes in the quarter.
- 32:31Speaker 2: The term kind of like a two minute offense.
- 32:33Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, it's yeah, anytime under two minutes, whether it's
- 32:37Speaker 4: a minute left, So four minute is called under five
- 32:40Speaker 4: minutes left in the game.
- 32:41Speaker 2: You have the ball with the lead.
- 32:43Speaker 3: When running backs thrive, you're trying to close the game.
- 32:46Speaker 2: Right, Fullbacks really come to shine at that point.
- 32:48Speaker 4: So it's one of the situations and that's that's when
- 32:51Speaker 4: you see offensive coordinators sometimes will make the gamble like
- 32:56Speaker 4: I'm going to do a boot leg, I'm gonna do
- 32:57Speaker 4: a play action on first or second down because they're
- 32:59Speaker 4: not expecting it, so you're trying to run. And the
- 33:02Speaker 4: goal of a four minute offense get two first downs
- 33:05Speaker 4: and you win the game. Two first downs, you win
- 33:07Speaker 4: the game. That is the goal. You can get one
- 33:10Speaker 4: one first down, great if you get none. But the
- 33:13Speaker 4: last thing you can do is as a quarterback, throw
- 33:16Speaker 4: a ball away or throw an interception. That is the
- 33:20Speaker 4: last thing you can do. And he did made a
- 33:22Speaker 4: couple of really bad to says. That shows me that
- 33:24Speaker 4: he wasn't comfortable either with the play call, play design
- 33:28Speaker 4: or sitting in the pocket a clean pocket and making
- 33:31Speaker 4: it outside the hash read.
- 33:33Speaker 6: So he didn't trust his receivers.
- 33:36Speaker 4: Maybe I don't think he trusted it himself to the play.
- 33:41Speaker 4: He trusted himself more to do the thing he was
- 33:43Speaker 4: comfortable with, which is fine because he does that great.
- 33:47Speaker 4: And I'm not knocking the kid for anything because again
- 33:50Speaker 4: I'm looking at this from like an NFL perspective. Yeah,
- 33:53Speaker 4: because he is a dynamic player and he can absolute you,
- 33:56Speaker 4: absolutely beat you by himself if you give him the opportunity,
- 33:59Speaker 4: the key to victory with him great safety play and
- 34:03Speaker 4: really discipline linebacker nickel play. But you say, if your
- 34:06Speaker 4: safeties have a bad day, he will he will throw
- 34:09Speaker 4: for three hundred and fifty yards and run for eighty.
- 34:11Speaker 3: And what's one of the positions that we're unsure of?
- 34:14Speaker 3: The safety position position? Right? You? You brought in some
- 34:17Speaker 3: talented players, you got some young players that you're expecting
- 34:20Speaker 3: to take a next step. But it's going to be
- 34:22Speaker 3: tested in this game. Oof, let's go, It's gonna be tested. Excited,
- 34:26Speaker 3: So well done, Well done there, Matthew. All right, when
- 34:29Speaker 3: we come back, we will start our process of the
- 34:32Speaker 3: SEC quarterback tier list. We'll do it right here on OTV,
- 34:37Speaker 3: off the bench, all right, go to you. Repelican roof

- 35:15Speaker 2: On the homepage. Yeah, I actually guess when you said it.
- 35:18Speaker 4: When we started this, I went to pelicanroof dot com
- 35:22Speaker 4: and everything popped up right there from their service areas

- 35:29Speaker 4: do and can do for you, Like Jake said, zero
- 35:32Speaker 4: percent financing for qualified buyers, pelicanroof dot Com. Pelicanroof dot com.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Blocked in on LSU Football twenty four to seven.
- 35:49Speaker 8: You're listening to off the Bench, all right, welcome back.
- 36:21Speaker 3: In one O four five ESPN Ben Rouge and now
- 36:24Speaker 3: we're gonna start putting these quarterbacks into tiers from the
- 36:30Speaker 3: sec Have we have we settled on like Elite good
- 36:36Speaker 3: steady and oh boy does that feel good?
- 36:39Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 36:40Speaker 3: Like how many should we put Elite great steady? Oh boy?
- 36:46Speaker 2: You have you have four per per tier sixteen teams many.
- 36:52Speaker 4: For the sec Oh boy, might be a little extreme
- 36:54Speaker 4: because I don't know if there's any you.
- 36:55Speaker 3: Said you liked, O boy. I mean, I love the
- 36:57Speaker 3: I love all right? What should we do?
- 36:58Speaker 7: How about how about how about like in progress?
- 37:04Speaker 2: Ye, it's complicated, It's complicated.
- 37:08Speaker 6: It's complicated.
- 37:09Speaker 2: Is great? I love that complicated?
- 37:11Speaker 7: Or like unknown, that's commodity complicated unknown, or it's complicated,
- 37:18Speaker 7: look something like that.
- 37:19Speaker 3: Let's go complicated.
- 37:21Speaker 6: That's right there, steady, steady.
- 37:24Speaker 2: All right, standard, We're going.
- 37:28Speaker 3: Elite, great, steady, and it's complicated like that, all right,
- 37:34Speaker 3: So I'm gonna go down the list. It's gonna it's
- 37:36Speaker 3: gonna last a couple of segments here, but let's go
- 37:38Speaker 3: ahead and get it started. We'll go in screw it.
- 37:43Speaker 3: We don't have to go in any certain order. Alabama,
- 37:45Speaker 3: Ty Simpson.
- 37:46Speaker 2: It's complicated.
- 37:47Speaker 3: It's I think it's complicated. He is not, really, He's
- 37:51Speaker 3: been there for a long time. I appreciate him staying
- 37:53Speaker 3: there and not taking his ball and going home.
- 37:55Speaker 4: Nobody appreciates that more then this show does. So we
- 38:01Speaker 4: appreciate the hell out of him.
- 38:02Speaker 7: It's just, you know, when you look at it like
- 38:05Speaker 7: now struggled atoms to throw the ball.
- 38:07Speaker 2: He was able to rely on his athleticism. He doesn't
- 38:10Speaker 2: have that.
- 38:10Speaker 7: Outside of Ryan Williams, he still don't have a ton
- 38:13Speaker 7: of weapons on the outside like them look great, Yeah,
- 38:20Speaker 7: all right, super complicated.
- 38:22Speaker 3: All right, good. Let's go to the Auburn Tigers. Now
- 38:26Speaker 3: Jackson Arnold coming over from Oklahoma is going to be
- 38:30Speaker 3: their starting quarterback.
- 38:32Speaker 7: I'm still gonna say it's complicated for them, like he's
- 38:34Speaker 7: in a new system. Hugh Freeze has not been what
- 38:38Speaker 7: they thought he was going to be so far at Auburn.
- 38:40Speaker 7: Like he's got Cam Coleman and Eric Singleton, great weapons
- 38:43Speaker 7: on the outside. Their running game, probably gonna take a
- 38:46Speaker 7: little bit of a step back, like I'd put him
- 38:49Speaker 7: on the edge steady, or it's complicated like he's he's
- 38:52Speaker 7: he's right there for me, I go either way.
- 38:54Speaker 5: Is it complicated part of the one that you said
- 38:56Speaker 5: earlier where it's like still to.
- 38:58Speaker 3: See or something, then yeah, I'm gonna say I'm gonna
- 39:01Speaker 3: says complicated.
- 39:03Speaker 2: There were all three there. Yeah, yeah, I mean he was.
- 39:08Speaker 2: It's simply complicated anywhere.
- 39:09Speaker 3: He's at Oklahoma last year for him and for his
- 39:12Speaker 3: receiver room, but he got replaced at one point.
- 39:14Speaker 2: He didn't.
- 39:15Speaker 4: Yeah, anybody in the transfer like in a new situation,
- 39:18Speaker 4: it's gonna be tough to really rank them, so we
- 39:19Speaker 4: can rank them on what they did. And like you said,
- 39:22Speaker 4: he did get benched. He uh, Oklahoma won two games
- 39:26Speaker 4: in the SEC. So it's like coming off. But it's
- 39:29Speaker 4: complicated with him the way and he freezes kind of
- 39:31Speaker 4: worried about playing golf and winning trophies.
- 39:33Speaker 2: Right now, that's the thing, right, Hugh freezes. Hugh freezes
- 39:36Speaker 2: on that hot seat.
- 39:37Speaker 7: We've seen it with Auburn and like just because he
- 39:38Speaker 7: starts game one, you brought in Ashton Daniels, who was
- 39:41Speaker 7: his starter at Stanford. You got a five star Induce Knight,
- 39:44Speaker 7: who's a true freshman. Like, I don't know if Jackson
- 39:46Speaker 7: Arnold makes it through the season.
- 39:49Speaker 2: Y'lse uh.
- 39:52Speaker 4: Got Lane Kiffin trolling him a little bit. Great trophy,
- 39:55Speaker 4: it looks like the golf games on.
- 39:56Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 40:00Speaker 3: With a post with the trip gonna miss a shot.
- 40:09Speaker 3: Gary Myer elite.
- 40:11Speaker 2: I mean he's at the top. It is so not complicated.
- 40:16Speaker 3: Austin Simmons Old, Miss, I'm gonna say I'm gonna say steady, Yes,
- 40:21Speaker 3: I'm going to kiffing with a quarterback. And we did
- 40:23Speaker 3: see him in the reigning as Georgia.
- 40:25Speaker 2: He's got some weapons coming back the lane Kiffing offense.
- 40:27Speaker 2: He was good against Georgia. Yeah, Steady, Steady.
- 40:31Speaker 4: I want to say steady too, but it's gonna get
- 40:33Speaker 4: boring if I keep saying the same thing. Y'all are
- 40:36Speaker 4: put him in elite? What's the next one under elite?
- 40:41Speaker 2: A great? We're gonna go great, all right, lad.
- 40:44Speaker 4: Just the sake of being a little different right now,
- 40:46Speaker 4: because I didn't want I don't want to be like
- 40:47Speaker 4: the car Brothers.
- 40:49Speaker 2: I know, right, that's.
- 40:52Speaker 3: Guys. I was listen. I was leaning probably more were
- 40:59Speaker 3: great than I will was anything else with him, because
- 41:03Speaker 3: that you know, he's talented and he's going with Lane Kevin,
- 41:06Speaker 3: and we we have seen it against the top tier defense.
- 41:09Speaker 3: I got no problem putting in great.
- 41:12Speaker 2: Let's put him.
- 41:13Speaker 3: I would still got a table that one. Let's go.
- 41:18Speaker 2: We're making predictions.
- 41:19Speaker 3: In Mississippi State quarterback Blake shape and feels really steady.
- 41:22Speaker 2: Yeah, study he's a good player.
- 41:23Speaker 3: It was like Steady went to great high school from
- 41:26Speaker 3: a great city. Blake shaping.
- 41:28Speaker 2: Yeah, we're going as complicated with him just because he
- 41:30Speaker 2: went to.
- 41:32Speaker 7: Okay, it's funny last year before he got that injury,
- 41:39Speaker 7: eight touchdowns, one pick, like.
- 41:41Speaker 3: He was good.
- 41:41Speaker 2: He was good for Steady. You know what, Steady, let's
- 41:45Speaker 2: get one more.
- 41:48Speaker 3: I mean he just feels he feels safe.
- 41:50Speaker 5: Yeah, he really does, because, like Taylor said before the injury,
- 41:53Speaker 5: like he was off to a hot start.
- 41:54Speaker 3: So let's see if we get one more in Texas
- 41:58Speaker 3: A and M quarterback Marcel Reeve.
- 42:00Speaker 5: So I think that one's a little complicated because yes,
- 42:03Speaker 5: he ran all over Texas or LS but I was
- 42:07Speaker 5: about to say Texas and over LSU.
- 42:09Speaker 6: But after that, after we saw him, it was kind
- 42:11Speaker 6: of like hit or miss.
- 42:12Speaker 2: Yeah, very mid steady with the potential to be great.
- 42:19Speaker 3: I'm gonna put him in steady even though I agree
- 42:22Speaker 3: a lot with the laundr here. I think now that
- 42:26Speaker 3: it's his team, like it's no longer like he's but
- 42:29Speaker 3: I don't have him. I don't have him anywhere near great.
- 42:32Speaker 3: I got him closer to It's complicated than study, you know.
- 42:36Speaker 1: Is.
- 42:38Speaker 2: A great change up.
- 42:41Speaker 4: We saw it against LSU as a full time starter
- 42:44Speaker 4: with teams having a full year of film and to
- 42:46Speaker 4: prepare the kid better make a lot of jumps in
- 42:49Speaker 4: a lot of areas that he's not great at, right,
- 42:52Speaker 4: And we just hadn't seen that yet, the ability to
- 42:54Speaker 4: do that. So I'm gonna put he like, to me,
- 42:56Speaker 4: it's not even steady. It's either great or it's complicated.
- 42:59Speaker 4: He's gonna be really bad or he's gonna be really good,
- 43:01Speaker 4: I think. So I'm gonna put him in as complicated. Yeah,
- 43:05Speaker 4: because I don't nothing has shown me that he can
- 43:07Speaker 4: make that jump. And I give SEC defensive coordinators and
- 43:10Speaker 4: coaches one more year to prepare for a full time starter.
- 43:14Speaker 4: He's got that ability, that that X factor that allows
- 43:19Speaker 4: him to do some special things. But I'm gonna keep it.
- 43:21Speaker 4: I'm gonna say he's not gonna do it. I'm gonna
- 43:23Speaker 4: say he gets shut down for most of you.
- 43:24Speaker 3: All Right, we'll continue with our list when we come
