- 0:12Speaker 1: of veget podcast Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. An exciting time
- 0:23Speaker 1: to be here at Jillette Stadium from four thirteen to
- 0:26Speaker 1: thirteen or four? Are we interrupting your screen time?
- 0:28Speaker 2: Pall?
- 0:29Speaker 1: I was.
- 0:30Speaker 3: I was just looking to see if Stefan Diggs was
- 0:32Speaker 3: a screen or slant. I mean I didn't.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Okay, the difference and energy do.
- 0:38Speaker 3: They wouldn't have forty six touchdowns or whatever he threw?
- 0:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think they would.
- 0:42Speaker 5: Be maybe fourteen and three for selfred. Okay, we had
- 0:47Speaker 5: the most twenty plus yard touchdown pass. They were tied
- 0:50Speaker 5: in Stafford twenty plus air yards air yards.
- 0:53Speaker 3: I know I have to nerd it up hair yards.
- 0:56Speaker 1: My little fun research took me yesterday.
- 0:58Speaker 6: I just started watching third and medium, like third and
- 1:01Speaker 6: three to six?
- 1:02Speaker 1: What did you do to him? Though? Okay, what do
- 1:04Speaker 1: we got many? Jerry? We have a show to do.
- 1:07Speaker 1: You're we need our guest at him? Which Stafford have
- 1:10Speaker 1: won as many games for the team as made it?
- 1:13Speaker 1: I think you would have, yes, because he's an mvpain.
- 1:15Speaker 6: This is Patriot's Unfiltered, presented by Toyota's official website for
- 1:20Speaker 6: deals by a Toyota dot Com.
- 1:24Speaker 1: All right, here we are Patriots Unfiltered. It is Wednesday
- 1:29Speaker 1: at Gillette Stadium. It's Evan, Paul Duce, myself, Alex and
- 1:33Speaker 1: the booth getting ready for the La Chargers. Right off
- 1:37Speaker 1: the bat, I want to turn people to have you
- 1:39Speaker 1: posted your your game?
- 1:42Speaker 4: No, that would be tomorrow morning.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Oh tomorrow morning. Oh see yeah, when you post that,
- 1:46Speaker 1: I would recommend people reading that and figuring out how
- 1:50Speaker 1: the Patriots are going to beat the Chargers. So show's over.
- 1:53Speaker 1: We don't have nothing. I'm only kidding.
- 1:54Speaker 4: I spent this one was a it was a playoff game,
- 1:58Speaker 4: right like, so we went all out. We went all out.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Yeah, how many?
- 2:01Speaker 4: There's like four thousand words, there's ten clips going in there.
- 2:06Speaker 4: This is come on, it was it was my first
- 2:09Speaker 4: time off writing it for the playoffs, so it had
- 2:11Speaker 4: to be big talk the playoffs.
- 2:13Speaker 1: All right, So we're gonna be talking about the Chargers
- 2:17Speaker 1: in this game coming up, uh, Sunday night, Sunday night game.
- 2:21Speaker 1: And Paul, I heard that your schooled the morning show
- 2:25Speaker 1: on your station.
- 2:26Speaker 3: I did not school anybody, just to let them know
- 2:28Speaker 3: that trying to give them a little of the insight
- 2:31Speaker 3: that we read about yesterday. We talked a little bit
- 2:33Speaker 3: about it on our show yesterday and they.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Were saying that, you know, the Sunday night game is
- 2:37Speaker 1: the premier show game and the Patriots are in it,
- 2:40Speaker 1: and Paul had to tell them, no, it's not the.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Marquee matchup, you know. And this was kind of news
- 2:45Speaker 3: to me too. I always felt the same way that
- 2:47Speaker 3: they were talking about it in the morning show with
- 2:49Speaker 3: Fred and and Hardy on the Sports Hub. But I
- 2:52Speaker 3: guess there was a Chicago Sun Times column that sort
- 2:57Speaker 3: of detailed a lot of the league's thought process and
- 3:01Speaker 3: the number one matchup they deem is the four to
- 3:06Speaker 3: twenty five Sunday afternoon That is the most watched game
- 3:10Speaker 3: of the weekend in the NFL's eyes, and they wanted
- 3:13Speaker 3: their best matchup to be in that slot, which was
- 3:17Speaker 3: San fran And at Philly. They felt the Packers Bears
- 3:21Speaker 3: was their second best matchup. Normally they would put that
- 3:25Speaker 3: on the Sunday night. They decided to put it in
- 3:29Speaker 3: Saturday night because they're trying to boost the popularity of
- 3:34Speaker 3: the Amazon game, which is the streamed game Saturday night,
- 3:38Speaker 3: eight o'clock, looking maybe for a younger audience, you know,
- 3:43Speaker 3: get the streaming involved, get the streaming numbers that you gotta.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Plus it up.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Yeah, plus it up. So that's what the reasoning was
- 3:49Speaker 3: for putting that game. They feel like if they had
- 3:51Speaker 3: put like say, Jaguars Bills in that slot, maybe some
- 3:56Speaker 3: people would have said I don't have to see that one.
- 3:58Speaker 3: But people feel like there's enough of a draw with
- 4:01Speaker 3: Green Bay Chicago that people will. So I'll be like
- 4:05Speaker 3: me and say it's streaming, that's not for me. I'll
- 4:08Speaker 3: do something else Saturday night.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Sorry, I mean to interrupt you. I had heard that
- 4:14Speaker 4: the networks were all fighting over Bear's Packers and the
- 4:19Speaker 4: fact that they gave it to Amazon. There was a
- 4:24Speaker 4: little bit of tension among the suits.
- 4:27Speaker 3: I got that impression from reading the story that I
- 4:29Speaker 3: read today.
- 4:30Speaker 4: That they gave Amazon a cookie and said here's Bear's
- 4:35Speaker 4: Packers instead of like, you know, Panthers Rams or like
- 4:38Speaker 4: some crappy game. Relatively speaking, of course.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Yeah, and I thought the Patriots would be in that
- 4:44Speaker 3: four twenty five Sunday slot. Obviously they just flip flopped
- 4:48Speaker 3: it and you get a marquee spot. And Matt Smith
- 4:51Speaker 3: No Socks, the famous No Socks opined that because the
- 4:56Speaker 3: Super Bowl is on NBC this year, maybe this is
- 5:00Speaker 3: an effort to throw some crumbs to some of the
- 5:02Speaker 3: other networks, knowing that the you know, the NBC is
- 5:04Speaker 3: going to have, you know, the marquee of all matchups
- 5:08Speaker 3: in the Super Bowl, regardless of who that is. So
- 5:11Speaker 3: maybe this is an effort to please all of the partners.
- 5:15Speaker 1: So there's that. The other thing I want to bring
- 5:17Speaker 1: up is, uh, you know this talk and it's more
- 5:22Speaker 1: than just a few people, how are you going to
- 5:25Speaker 1: feel if the Patriots lose? And you know, is it
- 5:29Speaker 1: a disappointment, is it a success? Is it a failure?
- 5:32Speaker 1: Blah blah blah. It's like, why what is this obsession
- 5:35Speaker 1: of preparing us and figuring out how we're going to
- 5:39Speaker 1: feel if they lose? Yeah, Like, I.
- 5:42Speaker 4: Don't's what you do? You set yourself up for failure?
- 5:44Speaker 1: Right, It's like, let's worry about that. Then the other
- 5:49Speaker 1: thing I and we were just talking No Socks Paul
- 5:52Speaker 1: myself before the AFC is wide open. We all agree
- 5:56Speaker 1: that with that, except for maybe Pittsburgh. It's a pretty
- 5:59Speaker 1: evil and field. There's going to be a loser in
- 6:03Speaker 1: every one of these games, you know, and it's going
- 6:06Speaker 1: to come down to you know, bad call or turnover, jeez,
- 6:12Speaker 1: or whatever's going to come down. I you know, most
- 6:21Speaker 1: of these games are probably going to be not be closed.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I think I think they're all yeah, are pretty squad.
- 6:28Speaker 1: They all have their strengths, they all have their weaknesses.
- 6:32Speaker 1: One team is going to lose every one of these games.
- 6:35Speaker 1: So should that fan base all be you know, up
- 6:37Speaker 1: in arms like they think the Patriots fan base should
- 6:40Speaker 1: be because they missed this opportunity. It's an opportunity for
- 6:43Speaker 1: every one of these teams in the playoffs. I just
- 6:47Speaker 1: let's not folks, Let's not worry about that. Let's be
- 6:51Speaker 1: overjoyed with the fact that we're fourteen and three, We're
- 6:54Speaker 1: in the playoffs. We're ahead of schedule. I don't care
- 6:57Speaker 1: what anyone says. We're a head of schedule. And let's
- 7:01Speaker 1: let's take every game one game at a time and
- 7:04Speaker 1: not worry about Monday. Let's worry about Sunday night, and
- 7:07Speaker 1: if God forbid we lose, let's get ready for twenty
- 7:11Speaker 1: twenty six, you know, like, oh God, I am.
- 7:15Speaker 4: One hundred percent in the school of I hate losing
- 7:18Speaker 4: more than I like winning, everybody, and so I just
- 7:21Speaker 4: absolutely dread losing, like I dread everything about it. Like
- 7:26Speaker 4: I think that that is that just stinks all around.
- 7:28Speaker 1: It does so terrible.
- 7:30Speaker 4: So, like, I just think that for most of us,
- 7:32Speaker 4: you just live in a fear of what if they lose? Right,
- 7:38Speaker 4: And like you just you just prepare yourself for that outcome,
- 7:41Speaker 4: because that's the worst possible feeling.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Follow If you were a service for a soldier and
- 7:49Speaker 1: you're going into battle, or if we are, you know,
- 7:52Speaker 1: the person leading those men and women into battle, would
- 7:55Speaker 1: you go in with the mentality what if we lose?
- 7:57Speaker 4: I mean no, no, you go in like we're gonna
- 7:59Speaker 4: take the.
- 8:01Speaker 6: I don't think Vrabel's doing that, you know. But what
- 8:05Speaker 6: does it look like though?
- 8:06Speaker 7: You know?
- 8:06Speaker 6: That's like you know, I mean, yeah, I think I
- 8:09Speaker 6: hammered and like fifty six to nothing, Yeah, that would
- 8:12Speaker 6: you know?
- 8:12Speaker 1: But what if they go back and forth.
- 8:14Speaker 6: With his team and it's a last possession and the
- 8:15Speaker 6: other team just makes an outstanding play, you know. So
- 8:19Speaker 6: I'm not going to get too worked up about the scenario.
- 8:21Speaker 6: The fact is they're here. This is a playoff week here.
- 8:23Speaker 6: The energy is awesome and it's just exciting to see
- 8:25Speaker 6: them take a next step and win or lose. You're
- 8:28Speaker 6: gonna stick with this team, and you want to see
- 8:29Speaker 6: Drake may get some playoff experience, so you know whether
- 8:32Speaker 6: or not he comes up a little short or not
- 8:34Speaker 6: this weekend, like there's going to be positives.
- 8:36Speaker 8: Now.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I'm with Mike.
- 8:37Speaker 3: I think that that's a big part of it. I
- 8:40Speaker 3: can't really envision this scenario where I'm like not going
- 8:44Speaker 3: to be disappointed if they lose. But that doesn't mean that,
- 8:48Speaker 3: you know, just ignore the fact that they're way ahead
- 8:52Speaker 3: of schedule and the future is bright and all that stuff.
- 8:54Speaker 3: I mean that that's what I think this this comes
- 8:57Speaker 3: down to. Like for specifically, for like Evan and I,
- 9:00Speaker 3: there's such a gap in our ages and Fred. You
- 9:03Speaker 3: know that I spent a lot of my time not
- 9:05Speaker 3: only rooting for the Boston teams, but rooting for Northeastern,
- 9:08Speaker 3: which means I have a lot of losing and a
- 9:10Speaker 3: lot of callous you know, you know, day after games.
- 9:14Speaker 3: You know, mentality point, I don't necessarily dread losing more
- 9:19Speaker 3: than I enjoy winning. I think they're kind of the opposite.
- 9:23Speaker 1: This is all the results.
- 9:24Speaker 3: But I don't ever go into a game and say,
- 9:26Speaker 3: oh my god, what if they lose. I never do that.
- 9:28Speaker 1: But this is all the results of the dynasty.
- 9:30Speaker 3: And I'll tell you why, because you've done nothing but win.
- 9:33Speaker 1: You know, Paul, tell me if I'm right or wrong.
- 9:36Speaker 1: Here one in ninety six, when the Patriots went on
- 9:41Speaker 1: their run and got to the Super Bowl, I don't
- 9:45Speaker 1: remember the same dread of losing because we had never
- 9:48Speaker 1: won before. We had never won it all.
- 9:50Speaker 3: That's my point. It's just the difference. Like I you know,
- 9:54Speaker 3: Evan just said, I do that all the time. I
- 9:56Speaker 3: go because you've done nothing but win, I think, And
- 9:58Speaker 3: it's not as situations younger and he's grown up with
- 10:02Speaker 3: six titles.
- 10:03Speaker 1: But would you agree with me?
- 10:04Speaker 3: Oh, I would agree with this. I would agree one
- 10:07Speaker 3: thousand percent with you. I was as distant titles, I
- 10:09Speaker 3: think in ninety six. I was as disappointed, of course,
- 10:13Speaker 3: coming home from that game and we got stuck having.
- 10:16Speaker 1: To shade you're winning at halftime.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Yeah, well they weren't winning at half time. I was
- 10:20Speaker 3: fourteen ten after the first quarter. Oh, I went downhill
- 10:24Speaker 3: after that.
- 10:24Speaker 4: Okay, why did they kick the ball to Desmond Howard?
- 10:27Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 10:27Speaker 2: All right.
- 10:27Speaker 1: You know, I asked.
- 10:28Speaker 3: Belichick, ya, when when they do when I was driving
- 10:33Speaker 3: home ninety six. Yeah, they kicked it to Desmond Howard.
- 10:35Speaker 3: He's right, heavans right.
- 10:36Speaker 1: No, No, no, weren't they ahead at halftime in ninety six, No,
- 10:39Speaker 1: they weren't.
- 10:40Speaker 3: The first quarter was fourteen ten. They were down twenty
- 10:42Speaker 3: seven and fourteen at the end of the half. Then
- 10:45Speaker 3: it was twenty seven to twenty one with about a
- 10:47Speaker 3: minute left in the third quarter, and.
- 10:49Speaker 4: They kicked the Demond They kicked it.
- 10:51Speaker 1: Time keep going. I'm sorry.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Anything else you want to know.
- 10:53Speaker 1: About that game? Yeah, no, I lift it anyway.
- 10:57Speaker 3: I did so really, I was really disappointed coming home,
- 11:02Speaker 3: you know, just bummed out that they lost.
- 11:05Speaker 1: But I didn't.
- 11:07Speaker 3: It didn't like send me into like this deep dark depression.
- 11:10Speaker 3: I've never really been that kind of a sports fan,
- 11:12Speaker 3: Like I'm pretty imbalanced, you know, I have my arguments
- 11:17Speaker 3: and my quirks, but I don't think I'm that kind
- 11:19Speaker 3: of sports fan that it's like really like just ruins
- 11:23Speaker 3: my life that my team that I root for lost
- 11:26Speaker 3: and I'm going to sink into a deep depression for
- 11:29Speaker 3: a month.
- 11:30Speaker 6: I was going to say, oh seven, I had a
- 11:32Speaker 6: party and final whistle. I just took the balloon, I
- 11:36Speaker 6: popped it and I went to my room.
- 11:39Speaker 1: The party the time hung was like a death. It's
- 11:45Speaker 1: just a loss as you can ever have.
- 11:49Speaker 3: And again, I'm not going to tell you how I'm above.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Like in ninety six, go back to that season.
- 11:53Speaker 1: You know.
- 11:55Speaker 3: There was a game that they lost the Shannon Sharp
- 11:58Speaker 3: called the National Guard we kill in the Patriots game.
- 12:00Speaker 1: I remember that.
- 12:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I was supposed to go out that night, and
- 12:03Speaker 3: I was so bummed out that I was like an
- 12:05Speaker 3: hour late meeting everybody. Like I was just so like
- 12:09Speaker 3: just distraught with how badly they played.
- 12:10Speaker 1: But like I went out.
- 12:12Speaker 3: I did what I was you know, I just was
- 12:14Speaker 3: not really in a good mood when I went out.
- 12:16Speaker 3: But that was like the day of the game. Like
- 12:18Speaker 3: two days later. It's like, who even remembers You're onto
- 12:21Speaker 3: the next game. Yeah, these some people, it just it
- 12:24Speaker 3: ruins their whole life.
- 12:25Speaker 4: I just think this is a different situation, like the
- 12:28Speaker 4: context different than what I just I don't. I guess
- 12:31Speaker 4: it just is more like I think it needs like
- 12:33Speaker 4: added context, Like I think the reason why a lot
- 12:35Speaker 4: of people are dreading losing this game is because they've
- 12:38Speaker 4: heard all year long that this team is fraudulent because
- 12:41Speaker 4: of the schedule that they played. So what so so
- 12:44Speaker 4: if they lose this game, it proves the point that
- 12:46Speaker 4: they were fraudulent, Like.
- 12:48Speaker 1: But you know that they're not. It doesn't prove anything.
- 12:51Speaker 1: I agree.
- 12:52Speaker 4: I just got through.
- 12:54Speaker 1: I just got through telling you all these teams are even.
- 12:57Speaker 4: Okay, you're making sense, Like if you if they lose
- 13:01Speaker 4: on Sunday to the Chargers, then everybody that has been
- 13:04Speaker 4: chirping the Patriots all year about their soft schedule is
- 13:07Speaker 4: going to be even louder. And I don't think that.
- 13:10Speaker 3: I think it's listen to it.
- 13:12Speaker 4: Okay, No, that's not the world.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Eventually, Patriots fans are saying that Denver is a fraud.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Right if we beat Denver, does that prove that they
- 13:22Speaker 1: were a fraud? Yes, no, it doesn't do Is it
- 13:24Speaker 1: not a fraud?
- 13:25Speaker 4: It doesn't prove that they're a fraud. But you best
- 13:27Speaker 4: believe we're going to be victory.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Of course we are. So you're a fan, you shouldn't
- 13:32Speaker 1: think that your team was a fraud.
- 13:34Speaker 4: But also, if we played Denver, it's gonna be in
- 13:36Speaker 4: the AFC Championship game. Like being one and done is different.
- 13:39Speaker 3: I blame this, Yeah, yeah, that's what it was.
- 13:44Speaker 1: Maybe it maybe.
- 13:48Speaker 4: To make it an age thing. It's a it's a
- 13:50Speaker 4: social media world things, and you know, I I That's
- 13:54Speaker 4: what I think it is, like in a vacuum about
- 13:57Speaker 4: this season, is that all year long, I know what
- 14:00Speaker 4: you saw, schedules have been thrown in our faces. That
- 14:03Speaker 4: this team has played the easiest schedule of all time
- 14:05Speaker 4: and the easiest schedule in the league. And you know,
- 14:08Speaker 4: if they go one and done and they lose to
- 14:10Speaker 4: a Chargers team, which on paper they should probably be,
- 14:14Speaker 4: then all those people are going to have credence that
- 14:17Speaker 4: they were right the whole time.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Do you want me to tell you?
- 14:19Speaker 3: Do you want me to tell you what those haters
- 14:20Speaker 3: are going to do?
- 14:21Speaker 1: If the Patriots win the Super Bowl?
- 14:22Speaker 4: That's what happens.
- 14:23Speaker 3: Do you want me to tell you what I'm going
- 14:25Speaker 3: to I'll tell you right because I I this like
- 14:28Speaker 3: kind of like the antagonistic, the troll mentalities. If they
- 14:33Speaker 3: win the Super Bowl, you know what they're going to do.
- 14:35Speaker 3: They're going to say you wouldn't even have made the playoffs.
- 14:37Speaker 3: If you had a real schedule. Yeah, you took advantage
- 14:40Speaker 3: of a week schedule and all the big I'm just
- 14:42Speaker 3: telling you what they're going to Okay, but if you
- 14:44Speaker 3: want to argue this crap, that's what they're going to
- 14:47Speaker 3: do because they never relent and say they were wrong.
- 14:49Speaker 1: No one ever does that.
- 14:50Speaker 4: People do that, like to me all the time about
- 14:53Speaker 4: the twenty four Celtics, I do not care. Champions, and
- 15:00Speaker 4: you can tell me that they had an easy path
- 15:01Speaker 4: and I do not care. So if the Patriots win
- 15:03Speaker 4: the Super Bowl and people say, well it's because you
- 15:06Speaker 4: had an easy path, it's not going to bother me
- 15:08Speaker 4: when iota. But it will bother me if people say
- 15:11Speaker 4: they lose to the Charters on Sunday and they say, see,
- 15:14Speaker 4: we're frauds.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Would if the Celtics hadn't gone all the way that year, yes,
- 15:19Speaker 1: it would have bothered you. Yeah that was But would
- 15:21Speaker 1: you have thought that they're right? It doesn't matter, No, no,
- 15:25Speaker 1: it doesn't matter. Would you would you would believe that
- 15:27Speaker 1: those Celtics detractors were right.
- 15:31Speaker 4: It's different because the Celtics were so much further along.
- 15:33Speaker 1: But like, but you you wouldn't knowing in your brain,
- 15:37Speaker 1: not your heart, your brain that they're wrong.
- 15:39Speaker 4: It was just chirping, okay, but this is the this
- 15:42Speaker 4: is the world we live in. I don't know what
- 15:43Speaker 4: to tell you, Like whether it's his shows or whether
- 15:46Speaker 4: it's social media, like, it doesn't matter.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I understand these are the people that.
- 15:49Speaker 4: Are going to be making I'm not taking it that personally.
- 15:54Speaker 4: I'm just saying it's annoying, like and like that. That
- 15:57Speaker 4: that's it, like Monday. If they lose on Sunday, I
- 16:00Speaker 4: will not turn on his station for like a week.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Like this is where I agree with him. That's how
- 16:05Speaker 3: I would handle it.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Oh, just don't listen. I just like I can.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Easily not read what's going on on Twitter, right, it
- 16:13Speaker 3: doesn't bother me. A lot of people Evan's age and
- 16:16Speaker 3: younger than Evan, they can't do that. They're just programs
- 16:20Speaker 3: that they have to figure out and they have to
- 16:21Speaker 3: fight with somebody and they have to defend the wall.
- 16:24Speaker 3: And I don't spend any of my time worrying.
- 16:27Speaker 1: About I'm going to be as disappointed as anyone, but
- 16:29Speaker 1: I will be too. But God forbid you lose. The
- 16:32Speaker 1: future is bright. I'm excited. We've got May.
- 16:35Speaker 3: We will get with that may just won't be Monday. So, Mike,
- 16:39Speaker 3: do you remember how I told you to the stages
- 16:41Speaker 3: of grief. Mike, you want to go over like what's
- 16:44Speaker 3: gonna happen? So let's say let's say like it just
- 16:48Speaker 3: it happens. No one wants to acknowledge it, but it happens.
- 16:50Speaker 3: They lose Sunday night on two on the postgame show,
- 16:54Speaker 3: there's going to be a lot of anger, right, We're
- 16:56Speaker 3: going to get anger by Tuesday. It's going to be
- 16:59Speaker 3: anger with with a sort of a sniff of.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Barkain.
- 17:06Speaker 3: Even know we're so far ahead of schedule by Thursday
- 17:10Speaker 3: because we won't do a Wednesday show if we lose,
- 17:12Speaker 3: it'll be Tuesday and Thursday. By Thursday, it'll be really
- 17:15Speaker 3: all about Man, look at this, We got this m
- 17:18Speaker 3: VP candidate. We're going to be here every year for
- 17:22Speaker 3: ten years, and maybe the second week it's going to be.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Mike, we got a great year behind us, and we're.
- 17:31Speaker 3: Yeah, that's how it will be hundred percent agree to
- 17:35Speaker 3: shut this crap off, and you can sort of a
- 17:37Speaker 3: hundred percent agree the bills are.
- 17:39Speaker 1: One and done. The Fred Kurshers of the world will
- 17:42Speaker 1: be calling up Buffalo over at see I told you
- 17:44Speaker 1: the windows closed, And if you do, you think you
- 17:46Speaker 1: think Buffalo fans should feel that way.
- 17:48Speaker 4: There's going to be one team that Josh Allen maid
- 17:52Speaker 4: be very worried if they lose on Sunday.
- 17:54Speaker 3: But if you're the mafia, well, if I were a
- 17:56Speaker 3: member of Bill's mafia, I would just always be very
- 17:58Speaker 3: worried because of the sure that.
- 18:02Speaker 4: The Bill's like not the cross sports again, but like
- 18:05Speaker 4: the Bills are in the position that twenty four Celtics
- 18:07Speaker 4: were in. They had their guy in the prime of
- 18:10Speaker 4: his career with an easy path. Like if they lose
- 18:13Speaker 4: on Sunday, and.
- 18:14Speaker 3: The difference is they they're not hosting everybody without all
- 18:17Speaker 3: the best players, Okay, but if there's a big difference there,
- 18:19Speaker 3: they're on the road.
- 18:20Speaker 4: And but if they're one and done, not an easy path,
- 18:23Speaker 4: this is their time to help Paul, Like this is I.
- 18:25Speaker 3: Understand, I understand what you're saying, Like Mahomes isn't there's
- 18:28Speaker 3: not there and Jackson's not there.
- 18:30Speaker 1: But they're not that good. They're lucky to be.
- 18:32Speaker 4: If they lose on Sunday to Jacksonville, then they're gonna
- 18:35Speaker 4: the coach is gonna get fired like the there's.
- 18:38Speaker 3: So the only way that coach gets fired is if
- 18:40Speaker 3: they hire John Hobball, which is in play. We haven't
- 18:42Speaker 3: talked about that yet either.
- 18:44Speaker 4: But he's not.
- 18:45Speaker 1: He's not the Bills mafia.
- 18:48Speaker 3: I wouldn't want any part of listening to these national
- 18:50Speaker 3: shows say exactly what Evan just said, because Evan's right.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Sean McDermott's job is going to be on the line
- 18:57Speaker 3: if they lose to Jacksonville. He's I think he's a
- 18:59Speaker 3: thousand percent right. That's all the national talk. The biggest
- 19:05Speaker 3: story coming out of this wildcard weekend in my view,
- 19:08Speaker 3: looking change, no, but looking ahead and coming out of
- 19:11Speaker 3: wild right now, it's it's the coaching change is absolutely
- 19:14Speaker 3: right coming out of the weekend. I like to predict
- 19:17Speaker 3: what the storylines will be if the Bills lose. That's
- 19:21Speaker 3: the biggest storyline that's going to come out of this weekend.
- 19:24Speaker 3: Evan's got it nailed. And it's because of They've been
- 19:27Speaker 3: knocking on the door, knocking on the door, knocking on
- 19:29Speaker 3: the door, and the only thing that's preventing them from
- 19:31Speaker 3: getting there generally has been Mahomes into a lesser extent
- 19:35Speaker 3: Burrow and neither of those two guys are around.
- 19:38Speaker 1: And Harbor was available and they still.
- 19:40Speaker 3: Can't get out of it.
- 19:40Speaker 1: And now Harbaugh is available.
- 19:42Speaker 3: That's going to be the big storyline. And by the way,
- 19:44Speaker 3: did you guys see Schefter's report today, So this is
- 19:47Speaker 3: currently seven job openings now with Baltimore making that announcement yesterday,
- 19:53Speaker 3: Schefter said that according to Harrorball's agent, which you know
- 19:58Speaker 3: it's coming from the agent. Take it for what you will,
- 20:01Speaker 3: he has already had it at least seven teams contact him.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I heard, I did hear so, and some of
- 20:07Speaker 1: them are teams.
- 20:08Speaker 3: That's at least one who already has a coach, right,
- 20:11Speaker 3: it sounds like it's my It's probably more than one. Yeah,
- 20:14Speaker 3: I think Miami is a possibility, could be Buffalo.
- 20:16Speaker 4: I don't think it's Buffalo yet, but it sounds like
- 20:19Speaker 4: the Dolphins and their ownership has had an infatuation with
- 20:22Speaker 4: John Harbaugh.
- 20:23Speaker 3: So to your point, though, and if you were the pagulist,
- 20:28Speaker 3: would you call contact John Harbaugh and say, hey, listen,
- 20:32Speaker 3: just don't make a rash decision. You know, right, you're
- 20:36Speaker 3: gonna have You're gonna have the pick of the litter.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Obviously you're going to be in high demand. But wait, wait,
- 20:41Speaker 3: wait at least till Sunday. Yeah, you know, and you know,
- 20:45Speaker 3: and then you know, if the Bills win, you know,
- 20:48Speaker 3: maybe they call back and say, you know what, we're
- 20:50Speaker 3: gonna We're gonna stay the course. But I think Evan's right.
- 20:53Speaker 3: I think there's a chance that make Durmy gets fired.
- 20:55Speaker 4: I don't know how he doesn't like how many more
- 20:57Speaker 4: times are we going to do this? But you have
- 20:58Speaker 4: the best player in the league, and you can't win
- 21:00Speaker 4: playoff games like I.
- 21:01Speaker 3: Just seven and six.
- 21:02Speaker 6: I understand why harvaugh is out, but it's still just
- 21:05Speaker 6: it's the same thing as Rable to me of you
- 21:08Speaker 6: have a good coach that you know, maybe wins Coach
- 21:10Speaker 6: of the Year, and you get to a certain point
- 21:12Speaker 6: where you feel like you just can't move forward.
- 21:14Speaker 1: It's just run its course. But oh Al Davis used
- 21:16Speaker 1: to have the role ten years Yeah, after ten years long,
- 21:21Speaker 1: they lose their ability to get the message out they started.
- 21:24Speaker 3: There's also and I read some stuff from Jeff Zerbiek,
- 21:28Speaker 3: who is a longtime Ravens writer. I didn't read, you know,
- 21:33Speaker 3: just reading clips online that I saw. I didn't read
- 21:36Speaker 3: thoroughly the stories, but indicating that the real problem is
- 21:42Speaker 3: Lamar with Todd munkin the offensive coordinator in Harbaugh wasn't
- 21:47Speaker 3: going to get rid of them, so Baltimore decided, you know,
- 21:53Speaker 3: we're going to go in another direction. Now we've also
- 21:54Speaker 3: heard we heard, like what five or six weeks ago,
- 21:59Speaker 3: there was what Fred talking about the Al Davis thing
- 22:01Speaker 3: where they've really kind of tuned him out.
- 22:03Speaker 1: In the locker room was eighteen years.
- 22:05Speaker 3: It had run its course. I think John Harbaugh is
- 22:08Speaker 3: a really good coach. I don't think he's done a
- 22:09Speaker 3: really good job with some really good teams recently the
- 22:13Speaker 3: last couple of years. I think that they have underachieved.
- 22:17Speaker 3: This year they badly underachieved. Well, it might be time.
- 22:21Speaker 4: But Lamar got hurt, and I think that's it, and
- 22:23Speaker 4: it's totally for situation, but I kind of look at it, but.
- 22:25Speaker 3: I think there were one in four before he got hurt. Yeah,
- 22:28Speaker 3: something like that.
- 22:29Speaker 4: But you look at the situation too, like what happened
- 22:30Speaker 4: in Washington, Like they bought both their coordinators because Jen
- 22:34Speaker 4: Daniels got hurt. Like is Cliff Kingsbury out of a job?
- 22:38Speaker 3: If I wonder if Kingsbury is in play for Baltimore, I.
- 22:42Speaker 4: Would think that that's probably what's happening is Kingsbury probably
- 22:44Speaker 4: has another job that he thinks he's going to get.
- 22:47Speaker 3: That's kind of what I was thinking.
- 22:48Speaker 4: But like I think with the with the Ravens situation,
- 22:51Speaker 4: it just kind of seems to me like la Mar
- 22:52Speaker 4: might be the problem.
- 22:54Speaker 1: Right well, and that's that's my question.
- 22:56Speaker 3: Yes, say a lot of.
- 22:56Speaker 4: Kyler Murray, like like Greg Roman is not good enough
- 22:59Speaker 4: and then they and then they fired Greg Roman and
- 23:01Speaker 4: now Todd Monkin's not good enough, and so that he
- 23:03Speaker 4: wants Todd Monkin fired, and like it just seems to
- 23:06Speaker 4: me like it's been difficult to work with.
- 23:08Speaker 1: It's it's a it's a wild I don't remember so
- 23:12Speaker 1: many high profile coaches being available, you know, ex coaches
- 23:16Speaker 1: being available in any one cycle. Yeah.
- 23:19Speaker 6: Well, I mean, if you're Baltimore, do you hit your
- 23:21Speaker 6: wagon to Lamar and you bring in a coach that's
- 23:23Speaker 6: gonna serve Lamar. I mean that's probably what Kingsbury would
- 23:26Speaker 6: be to some element.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Or a high profile coaches besides Harbor.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Mike McCarthy, Bill Belichick's not available, has been available for
- 23:34Speaker 4: three years, but he's available.
- 23:36Speaker 1: This is the third years ago, but he's available.
- 23:38Speaker 3: You just said, I can't remember these kinds of guys
- 23:40Speaker 3: being available.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I can't.
- 23:42Speaker 3: We was available last year, in the year before.
- 23:44Speaker 1: No, but you add in Harbaugh, you add in I
- 23:47Speaker 1: think it's really just Harbor and Mike McCarthy. Mike McCarthy.
- 23:51Speaker 1: I mean, if listen, if it's really disrespectful, know what
- 23:55Speaker 1: I mean.
- 23:55Speaker 4: I think Mike McCarthy won a Super Bowl and has
- 23:58Speaker 4: about the same win percentages.
- 23:59Speaker 1: I mean, you know that table. I don't know if dable,
- 24:02Speaker 1: but I don't think of him any We'll probably get
- 24:04Speaker 1: another opportunity some day.
- 24:06Speaker 4: I think he'll be a coordinator first.
- 24:07Speaker 1: But maybe. But but you know, he's out there, like
- 24:10Speaker 1: I know, I don't know. As Pete Carroll said, he's
- 24:12Speaker 1: actually retiring.
- 24:14Speaker 3: He should, he should, but again, he was available last
- 24:17Speaker 3: year and he got a job.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:19Speaker 3: I'm just saying, I don't think this is a great
- 24:23Speaker 3: year for coaching availability. I don't think there's a lot
- 24:26Speaker 3: of Like I don't think there's a Ben Johnson available.
- 24:29Speaker 4: It was available, Yeah, yeah, I mean Stefanski he's another one.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Harbaugh another what he's like thirty games below five hundred.
- 24:39Speaker 4: Like I think that Tomlin is not tom right now, I'm.
- 24:45Speaker 3: With if Tomlin is available, then that I would change
- 24:48Speaker 3: my mind.
- 24:48Speaker 1: That's a high profile.
- 24:50Speaker 4: I'm with, coach is kind of low key staking.
- 24:53Speaker 1: There are a lot of mid coaches that are that
- 24:55Speaker 1: are out of a job.
- 24:55Speaker 6: And that's what's so funny to me, though, is we
- 24:57Speaker 6: spent the first five minutes talking about it might be
- 24:59Speaker 6: just at the Patriots was and now we're talking about
- 25:01Speaker 6: two other teams that if they lose, their coaches might
- 25:03Speaker 6: get fired.
- 25:04Speaker 1: Right, That's how stream it is.
- 25:06Speaker 3: Disappointed, But I think it's I think this is back
- 25:10Speaker 3: to Evans's point about like the twenty four Celtics, like
- 25:12Speaker 3: you're in a different spot, and so you know, when
- 25:15Speaker 3: you're there for nineteen years, in eighteen years in the
- 25:18Speaker 3: case of Tom Win in Harbar, respectively, you're not judged
- 25:21Speaker 3: in the same lens, and you shouldn't be.
- 25:24Speaker 4: It's also just different, Like I think that for especially
- 25:28Speaker 4: the current fan base. You know, obviously Drake may is
- 25:31Speaker 4: a much better player than Matt Jones. But we just
- 25:33Speaker 4: did this in twenty twenty one where they had a
- 25:35Speaker 4: good regular season. Now they had a better regular season
- 25:38Speaker 4: this year and the quarterback is better. But if they
- 25:40Speaker 4: go out on Sunday and they lay an egg against
- 25:42Speaker 4: the Chargers, like what, we're right back there, right or we're.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Not ready, So my not ready, my feeling will be different,
- 25:50Speaker 3: you know, vastly different. I was very consistent just because
- 25:54Speaker 3: I didn't think that they will go into the playoffs
- 25:56Speaker 3: in twenty two. I thought twenty one was a fluke.
- 25:58Speaker 3: I don't think this is a fluke. Now that's just
- 26:01Speaker 3: me mentally, doesn't mean I'm right. It might end up
- 26:04Speaker 3: being a fluke.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Who knows.
- 26:05Speaker 4: I don't think it's a fluke, but I think I
- 26:07Speaker 4: think that there's there's all those elements right of like
- 26:11Speaker 4: the proof of concept of winning a playoff game, of like,
- 26:14Speaker 4: you know, really accomplishing something this year of you know,
- 26:18Speaker 4: not just winning the division but also winning a playoff
- 26:21Speaker 4: game really puts your stamp on it. Like this is
- 26:24Speaker 4: it's not a no fluke.
- 26:26Speaker 1: It's not a fluke for Denver, it's not a fluke
- 26:28Speaker 1: for Jackson with the first year coach.
- 26:30Speaker 3: It's not fourteen wins might be none of these still
- 26:33Speaker 3: in a playoff team last year.
- 26:35Speaker 1: None of these teams are that in it with the
- 26:37Speaker 1: exception of Pittsburgh. Perhaps are here because of a fluke Carolina,
- 26:42Speaker 1: but no, I get your point.
- 26:44Speaker 4: Yeah literally had a field goal mess yeah FLI key, Yeah.
- 26:49Speaker 3: But I agree with Fred. I think the six teams
- 26:54Speaker 3: are pretty even, and I can make an argument it's
- 26:57Speaker 3: going to be interesting to see how it goes, you know,
- 27:00Speaker 3: when it goes forward, because I do think strongly that Baltimore,
- 27:04Speaker 3: Kansas City, maybe if they can figure out how to
- 27:08Speaker 3: handle one off season for a change, Cincinnati, these teams
- 27:10Speaker 3: are going to be heard from, and you know, I
- 27:13Speaker 3: think there are good teams that have I might even
- 27:16Speaker 3: slide Indianapolis into this.
- 27:17Speaker 1: Conversation absolutely if they get a quarterback.
- 27:19Speaker 3: There are some good teams that are in the playoffs
- 27:23Speaker 3: right now that.
- 27:26Speaker 1: Might not be back. I mean Jason Ohio historically that's
- 27:29Speaker 1: the next year Jason for OHIOSA is Fred, why are
- 27:33Speaker 1: you trying to rationalize fandom, which is inherently irrational. Fans
- 27:37Speaker 1: think and do wild stuff for their teams. I agree,
- 27:40Speaker 1: but I would hope our fandom appreciates what we've got
- 27:45Speaker 1: and what the future could be. With what we've got.
- 27:48Speaker 4: We will get there, Yes, won't be Monday.
- 27:51Speaker 1: That's what I said, this isn't the end of the road.
- 27:54Speaker 1: It's like, if we don't win now, we never will,
- 27:57Speaker 1: you know, Like.
- 27:58Speaker 4: No, I'm saying that, you know.
- 28:00Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean it's going to take a while.
- 28:02Speaker 1: But it's gonna take him in.
- 28:03Speaker 4: Like then we'll get to NFL Honors and hopefully Drake
- 28:06Speaker 4: may is the m v P. And then that make
- 28:07Speaker 4: you feel a little bit better, And.
- 28:09Speaker 3: That makes Mike upset, and I kind of agree with him.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Mike is dreading if the worst case scenario happens and
- 28:14Speaker 3: they lose this game.
- 28:15Speaker 6: Three weeks of MVY three weeks, so if Stafford lost
- 28:18Speaker 6: this weekend in the division round.
- 28:20Speaker 1: So you know, obviously I probably put straight back in
- 28:22Speaker 1: front of.
- 28:22Speaker 4: You like they started. They voted for MVP on Monday.
- 28:27Speaker 1: But we're gonna keep talking.
- 28:28Speaker 4: It's going to keep.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Getting calls by we made our beach.
- 28:30Speaker 4: It's over. Yeah, good job campaigning, everybody. It's done. I
- 28:34Speaker 4: know they can't vote anymore.
- 28:35Speaker 6: I know we've talked about this stuff in the past,
- 28:37Speaker 6: and I remember you talking about no one was throwing
- 28:39Speaker 6: in ninety six, the fact that Denver lost in the
- 28:42Speaker 6: face of people and even watching doing my eighty five
- 28:45Speaker 6: stuff of like the excitement of like they thought they
- 28:47Speaker 6: were going to beat the Bears, and.
- 28:49Speaker 1: You know, I just think it's it's two things.
- 28:50Speaker 2: To me.
- 28:50Speaker 6: It's the rise of social media now where you have
- 28:53Speaker 6: direct contact with another team's fans.
- 28:55Speaker 1: You didn't used to have that, Like, how would you
- 28:57Speaker 1: get into it? You didn't care.
- 28:58Speaker 6: The only thing that mattered was, you know, when the
- 29:00Speaker 6: Boston Globe, the Boston Harrold wrote a story and then
- 29:03Speaker 6: you know that might ruffle some feathers, right, but it's
- 29:06Speaker 6: that and then it's part of the interruption.
- 29:07Speaker 1: This is how sports are covered now.
- 29:08Speaker 6: Every angle, you know, win, lose, what's the good, what's
- 29:11Speaker 6: the bad?
- 29:12Speaker 1: Like that's really I'm not that as.
- 29:13Speaker 3: Positive like the ninety six one, and I might be
- 29:16Speaker 3: getting my years off by a year, I want to say.
- 29:22Speaker 3: You know, so you're right. I knew that Denver was
- 29:25Speaker 3: better than the Patriots in ninety six, but I was
- 29:28Speaker 3: just excited that they lost. And I was really I
- 29:30Speaker 3: remember strongly rooting for Jacksonville watching that game. It's like,
- 29:33Speaker 3: oh my god, they have a chance that one win
- 29:34Speaker 3: and they were really you know, so you got a
- 29:37Speaker 3: chance to play Jacksonville for the AFC Championship. Game ninety seven.
- 29:41Speaker 3: I think that they lost to Denver in Denver ninety
- 29:45Speaker 3: seven and ninety eight, and they were reasonably competitive games,
- 29:48Speaker 3: so you could kind of see they're not that far away.
- 29:52Speaker 3: But you looked at it and you're like, that really
- 29:55Speaker 3: was a great opportunity that they had in ninety six
- 29:57Speaker 3: to go to the Super Bowl, and fortunately for them,
- 29:59Speaker 3: they did. Now, I think green Bay was a little
- 30:01Speaker 3: better and they beat them, you know, but I that
- 30:04Speaker 3: was unlike the Chicago game. The green Bay game was winnable.
- 30:07Speaker 3: The Chicago game was not winnable.
- 30:09Speaker 6: One other funny thing that stood out to me is
- 30:11Speaker 6: I found some footage of Eddie Anelman down at the
- 30:14Speaker 6: at the Super Bowl JO and he was like doing
- 30:18Speaker 6: a little show and he was telling Patriot fans to
- 30:20Speaker 6: call in and give these Miami people crap, you know.
- 30:23Speaker 6: So he's like and I feel like now the dichotomy
- 30:27Speaker 6: has kind of changed because I feel like the biggest
- 30:29Speaker 6: rival of Paul shows are the Patriots super fans who
- 30:33Speaker 6: don't care, you know, they just were the best.
- 30:35Speaker 1: We're back.
- 30:36Speaker 6: Everyone hates us defend the way, you know, that's their nemesis.
- 30:40Speaker 6: But back then it was almost like we're trying to
- 30:42Speaker 6: harness that strength because we're gonna win.
- 30:43Speaker 1: The Super Bowl and everybody's on board, and so super
- 30:46Speaker 1: fans you're talking about if we lose, we're still bad,
- 30:49Speaker 1: We're still back. This wasn't a fluke.
- 30:52Speaker 6: It's just different and I and I honestly think that
- 30:54Speaker 6: it's better now. It's better because it's better because Evan.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Can go back and forth with Bronco fans. It's you're
- 31:00Speaker 1: not in your own little bubble. You know me, but
- 31:03Speaker 1: you know, oh, but would you rather have you work
- 31:06Speaker 1: for a team? And you can't get into it, but
- 31:09Speaker 1: you know if you didn't work for us, if you
- 31:11Speaker 1: were still with Clinics or whatever, you'd be right back
- 31:13Speaker 1: at put off the old thumbs last.
- 31:16Speaker 3: Weekend the media, I don't go out with the fans.
- 31:20Speaker 4: Me deciding that I am now going to tweet and
- 31:22Speaker 4: then push away from the phone is one of the
- 31:25Speaker 4: better decisions I've ever made for my health and well
- 31:28Speaker 4: being playing.
- 31:28Speaker 1: I don't tweet a lot for that reason.
- 31:30Speaker 4: But like I do tweet a lot, but I don't
- 31:32Speaker 4: reply anymore.
- 31:33Speaker 1: My feeling is if you're not if you don't want
- 31:36Speaker 1: people to interact with you, don't tweet that like you're
- 31:40Speaker 1: just making proclamations, then you're not using it's not social media,
- 31:44Speaker 1: it is because so like, if you're not and listen,
- 31:48Speaker 1: I don't blame you. If you don't want to get
- 31:50Speaker 1: into it, then stay off of it. Stay off of it.
- 31:53Speaker 4: I just it just doesn't mean no good to reply.
- 31:56Speaker 4: So I for multiple reasons, but I mean you should
- 31:59Speaker 4: read some of the replies to my tweets. Like during games, Oh,
- 32:02Speaker 4: I can only.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Imagine I get criticized the game so lit things are bad.
- 32:10Speaker 1: You know, they're on me for being a homer.
- 32:12Speaker 4: Well, it's not even criticism towards me, it's it's more
- 32:15Speaker 4: criticism towards what's happening in the game. And it will
- 32:17Speaker 4: be like the first quarter and the defense gives up
- 32:20Speaker 4: a scoring drive and it's fraud. It's like, I can't
- 32:24Speaker 4: stop anybody. It just you can't reply. You can't. Once
- 32:28Speaker 4: you start replying, you're poking the hornet's nest, and it just.
- 32:32Speaker 3: All right off for this game, Yeah, let's get this game.
- 32:36Speaker 3: What are you most confident in? From the Patriots side,
- 32:41Speaker 3: I was sort of thinking about confidence and concerns. What
- 32:45Speaker 3: are you most confident in? I should have probably maybe
- 32:48Speaker 3: brought this up pre show maybe a little show.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Well, I think it's a tough question, Paul.
- 32:52Speaker 6: That's why I'm taking a second to think about it,
- 32:54Speaker 6: because i'd love to say that I am one hundred
- 32:56Speaker 6: percent sure that the Patriots are going to move the ball,
- 32:59Speaker 6: but I think the Chargers be really challenging.
- 33:00Speaker 1: I think it's going to be it's going to be
- 33:02Speaker 1: most confident if it's to remove the ball, I think.
- 33:04Speaker 6: I mean, but how and and does the run game
- 33:07Speaker 6: continue to carry over and produce?
- 33:09Speaker 1: Like they have the four guys that I'm most confident in,
- 33:15Speaker 1: it's Drake May, I agree with the two running backs,
- 33:18Speaker 1: and it's Digs. Those four guys, I'm pretty sure we're
- 33:23Speaker 1: going to produce. I'm pretty I'm pretty sure those four
- 33:26Speaker 1: people will produce.
- 33:27Speaker 3: I'm not sure about the two running backs, but I
- 33:29Speaker 3: have a lot of faith in May in the passing game,
- 33:31Speaker 3: regardless of who he's throwing it too. He's done it
- 33:33Speaker 3: all year with different guys, so I don't know who
- 33:36Speaker 3: the guy is going to be. You know, maybe it's
- 33:38Speaker 3: Digs that's probably the most likely. But yeah, I have
- 33:41Speaker 3: I have faith in in May.
- 33:42Speaker 1: But if you have faith in May, he has to
- 33:44Speaker 1: throw it to somebody. So who do you have faith
- 33:46Speaker 1: in that's gonna be on the and the guy who
- 33:49Speaker 1: can go.
- 33:49Speaker 3: Like this Hunter Hunter Henry and Stefan Diggs. I have
- 33:53Speaker 3: a lot of faith in.
- 33:54Speaker 4: I think they're going to try to take those two
- 33:55Speaker 4: guys away. So so I think that that's going to
- 33:59Speaker 4: be the game within the game is going to be
- 34:02Speaker 4: just you know, Kai Shaan Boodie, Kyle Williams, you know,
- 34:06Speaker 4: the running backs in the passing game against some of
- 34:09Speaker 4: these secondary players for getting someone No, I'm not some
- 34:14Speaker 4: of the some of these Tomorrow Douglas, some of these
- 34:17Speaker 4: secondary players, uh for the Chargers, you know, Cam Hart,
- 34:21Speaker 4: Benjamin Saint ju just their safeties like are you know
- 34:24Speaker 4: those are It's not I don't know if if Jesse
- 34:28Speaker 4: Minter is gonna let Stefan Diggs beat him, so like
- 34:30Speaker 4: it's probably gonna have to be. They're gonna clamp down
- 34:33Speaker 4: on the middle of the field with Diggs and Henry
- 34:35Speaker 4: and the matchups that are going to decide the game
- 34:38Speaker 4: might be on the outside.
- 34:40Speaker 3: Now, forgive me, I didn't read the four thousand word
- 34:43Speaker 3: opus yet you can't.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Can't.
- 34:45Speaker 4: It'll be available to everybody.
- 34:46Speaker 3: Tomorrow what specifically with jesse Minter, he's good, good co
- 34:53Speaker 3: Do you think they're gonna be things that maybe catch
- 34:56Speaker 3: Josh McDaniels and Drake May off guard or do they
- 34:59Speaker 3: just do they do extremely well?
- 35:01Speaker 4: I think it's the second one. So they play a
- 35:03Speaker 4: lot of zone. They played like eighty one percent of
- 35:05Speaker 4: their snaps in zone. They play a lot of quarters specifically,
- 35:09Speaker 4: which we can get into. But I think the biggest
- 35:11Speaker 4: thing that I see with them this happened against Houston.
- 35:14Speaker 4: You know, first half against Houston, Stroud completes those two
- 35:17Speaker 4: bombs for touchdowns to the two Iowa State kids, and
- 35:20Speaker 4: then Mint just started blitzing the crap out of them
- 35:23Speaker 4: in the second half. And it seems like the curveball
- 35:26Speaker 4: or like the change up for jesse Minner is pressure.
- 35:29Speaker 4: Like if he starts to see that the quarterback is
- 35:31Speaker 4: just sitting back there and the you know, zones are
- 35:34Speaker 4: not holding up, then he's going to start bringing pressure.
- 35:37Speaker 4: So if I was the Patriots, that would be what
- 35:40Speaker 4: I would be working all week on. Like, I have
- 35:42Speaker 4: a lot of confidence in Drake May finding open receivers
- 35:45Speaker 4: against zone coverage. He's been doing it all year. As
- 35:47Speaker 4: Paul said, what happens when they start getting a little
- 35:51Speaker 4: bit crazy and they start dialing pressure up and they
- 35:54Speaker 4: have to figure out answers to zone pressures or cover
- 35:58Speaker 4: zero or whatever the case may be. You have those
- 36:01Speaker 4: types of things. So if I was Josh McDaniels, like
- 36:03Speaker 4: that would be what's keeping me up at night. Is
- 36:06Speaker 4: like what happens when the game sort of pivots right,
- 36:10Speaker 4: Like he's not gonna sit in quarters the entire game
- 36:14Speaker 4: because it's going to be too easy for McDaniels in may.
- 36:17Speaker 4: So at some point he's going to flip a switch
- 36:19Speaker 4: and say, we're going to start bringing the heat. And
- 36:22Speaker 4: at that point, do you have the answers to the
- 36:24Speaker 4: pressure that they bring?
- 36:25Speaker 3: Do you agree to That's like from when you when
- 36:27Speaker 3: you watch the third I.
- 36:29Speaker 6: Only watch the third mediums pot. I think, no, it
- 36:31Speaker 6: sounds I mean yeah, no, I mean obviously I trust
- 36:34Speaker 6: Evan's coverage, and yeah, I mean that.
- 36:35Speaker 1: The zone stuff.
- 36:36Speaker 6: I mean I just went through, you know, stacking up
- 36:38Speaker 6: all the different how they rank up, and I mean
- 36:40Speaker 6: everything he's saying stacks up with with what the next
- 36:43Speaker 6: gen stats, and yeah, I just it, Like I like
- 36:47Speaker 6: what Gary Blount said, Yes, Blunt what he said yesterday,
- 36:51Speaker 6: just whatever you're expecting it to be, it's going to
- 36:53Speaker 6: be something totally different. And I think that that could
- 36:55Speaker 6: be a case. And you know, to Evan's point, we've
- 36:58Speaker 6: seen times this year where Patriots offense looks one way
- 37:01Speaker 6: and then all of a sudden, it looks another way
- 37:02Speaker 6: for a while. No, that happens a lot in the playoffs,
- 37:05Speaker 6: and it's does it stagnate it first and they figure
- 37:08Speaker 6: it out or do they come out guns blazing and
- 37:10Speaker 6: then the adjustment kind of gets them. Hopefully they can
- 37:13Speaker 6: stay ahead of that. And I just think the run game,
- 37:16Speaker 6: you know, like that's to me that if if they
- 37:18Speaker 6: can lean on that and they can be successful with that,
- 37:20Speaker 6: I think that'll.
- 37:21Speaker 1: Worry about that then too. Hither run game.
- 37:23Speaker 4: Worries me against this team, particularly because they got big
- 37:26Speaker 4: dudes up front, and Derwin James is a really good
- 37:28Speaker 4: run player as well, and he's been playing a lot
- 37:30Speaker 4: in the slot and in the box for them, kind
- 37:33Speaker 4: of like basically like a linebacker. So like, I don't
- 37:36Speaker 4: know if you can run the ball against this front, Well,
- 37:38Speaker 4: it's a.
- 37:38Speaker 1: Bunch of big nights. I lean on the performance of
- 37:42Speaker 1: the last and in the last quarter of our run
- 37:44Speaker 1: game in giving that you know your your guy mintor
- 37:48Speaker 1: something to think about there, and okay, you know stack
- 37:52Speaker 1: the box all right. I think Josh McDaniel and May
- 37:56Speaker 1: will recognize that, and I think we have an answer
- 37:58Speaker 1: for that. We're balance enough to be able to answer
- 38:02Speaker 1: to that. And so that's why I have faith in
- 38:04Speaker 1: May and confidence in May in the offense in general
- 38:08Speaker 1: to be able to produce this game. I agree.
- 38:11Speaker 3: I think that's what yeah, most confident.
- 38:13Speaker 4: To me, that's the way you win this game, Like,
- 38:15Speaker 4: you got to get ahead, score score because they can't score.
- 38:18Speaker 4: So I would put points on the board as quickly
- 38:21Speaker 4: as you possibly can and make them play from behind
- 38:24Speaker 4: and make that offensive line pass protect forty forty five
- 38:27Speaker 4: times in Sunday's game, and I think you're going to
- 38:29Speaker 4: be in good shape. But you know, they they stop
- 38:32Speaker 4: to run really well. They've been a little bit leaky
- 38:35Speaker 4: on the big plays lately, but they're pretty good at
- 38:37Speaker 4: stopping big plays through the air. So it's just that's
- 38:41Speaker 4: the way that they kind of play.
- 38:42Speaker 1: What's the thing that wearries you the most, Herbert.
- 38:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I would say what worries me the most is
- 38:48Speaker 4: that the Patriots won't have enough pass rush to really
- 38:52Speaker 4: exploit their offense.
- 38:53Speaker 3: They don't get the lead, and the Chargers can throw
- 38:56Speaker 3: as they want to, and they have a diverse passing
- 39:00Speaker 3: game that I think will give the Patriots secondary and
- 39:03Speaker 3: then I can handle.
- 39:04Speaker 1: And then I worry that they'll get too aggressive on
- 39:06Speaker 1: defense and they'll get burned.
- 39:08Speaker 6: They'll have to start blitzing and trying to figure out
- 39:11Speaker 6: a way to produce some pressure.
- 39:13Speaker 3: You know, that would be my biggest concern is that
- 39:15Speaker 3: Herbert gets hot. And they have we talked about yesterday,
- 39:20Speaker 3: three or four guys. They're more than comfortable. You know,
- 39:23Speaker 3: that guy can be the volume guy today. That guy
- 39:25Speaker 3: can be the big play guy today.
- 39:27Speaker 4: They have to. It's hard to stop those Christian Barmore
- 39:30Speaker 4: have to dominate. They have to wreck the game.
- 39:33Speaker 1: So is the thing that's held the Charges from being
- 39:35Speaker 1: an explosive offense. Back to the offensive line.
- 39:38Speaker 6: It's horrid, yeah, and I saw something today. It's like
- 39:41Speaker 6: historically horrid.
- 39:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:42Speaker 3: And it's it's not just like they have some of
- 39:46Speaker 3: the guys.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Their lines worse than our schedule their line last year here.
- 39:51Speaker 3: Yeah, my rankings, okay, so fifty to nothing and Herbert
- 39:56Speaker 3: was sacked fifty four times. You know, everybody is focused
- 39:58Speaker 3: on Alton Slater and those guys. I mean, first of all,
- 40:01Speaker 3: they are two really good tackles that they lost, which
- 40:03Speaker 3: obviously chips away at your depth. But they were missing
- 40:07Speaker 3: guards all year too, Like Mikai Beckton missed the chunk
- 40:10Speaker 3: of the season in the middle, hasn't been as good
- 40:12Speaker 3: when he was out there. The BC kid Zion Johnson
- 40:17Speaker 3: sort of been a little inconsistent. He They've been without
- 40:21Speaker 3: a lot of their personnel on the line for large
- 40:25Speaker 3: chunks of the year. I think that they've kind of
- 40:28Speaker 3: settled it a little bit, like the backups that are
- 40:31Speaker 3: settled into the tackle spots. I wish I had their
- 40:36Speaker 3: game the game, No, but I wish I had their
- 40:38Speaker 3: game to game. I feel like those guys is at
- 40:41Speaker 3: Sailure and Pimpkins. They've been in there, I think the
- 40:45Speaker 3: last few weeks, and it's kind of stabilized a little bit.
- 40:49Speaker 3: You know, it's not going to be guys, but it's
- 40:51Speaker 3: not going to be ideal for them no matter what.
- 40:53Speaker 3: But I think Herbert is sort of after being under
- 40:57Speaker 3: siege for you know, the middle of the season, I
- 41:00Speaker 3: think he sort of understands a little bit. Okay, this
- 41:03Speaker 3: is what it's going to be. I'm working around it. Yeah,
- 41:05Speaker 3: and maybe it'll be too much for him and he
- 41:07Speaker 3: won't be able to do it in the playoffs, and
- 41:09Speaker 3: then the Herbert haters will tell you he's not going
- 41:12Speaker 3: to win in the playoffs.
- 41:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 41:13Speaker 4: He hasn't been particularly good against pressure this year.
- 41:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I just and the Patriots haven't been good at
- 41:19Speaker 1: getting pressure.
- 41:20Speaker 6: So that's the that's the labor of average I would say,
- 41:23Speaker 6: I mean, I would say their pass us is average pressure. Yeah,
- 41:25Speaker 6: pressure eight, but uh, you know backup having I mean
- 41:28Speaker 6: sixty seven point one QB rating under pressure one O
- 41:30Speaker 6: nine point eight with no pressure for yeah.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I think they think they had leads a lot,
- 41:35Speaker 1: so that helped.
- 41:36Speaker 3: And I think that's when the Patriots get pressure, like
- 41:38Speaker 3: in the fourth quarter Sunday when they were killing Zach Wilson, right.
- 41:41Speaker 4: Like they play they need to like you know, the
- 41:44Speaker 4: Chargers want want to shrink the game, they want to
- 41:46Speaker 4: choke you out. They have a good defense. Number one
- 41:49Speaker 4: drive time, They're not going to give up a lot
- 41:50Speaker 4: of points. That's how they feel. At least they are
- 41:53Speaker 4: second in the league in time of possession. Like, so
- 41:55Speaker 4: they want to choke out the game. And if I'm
- 41:57Speaker 4: the Patriots, you want to do the opposite. You want
- 41:59Speaker 4: to turn this thing and to attract me, Like you
- 42:01Speaker 4: want to put points on the board, and you want
- 42:03Speaker 4: to make Herbert drop back as many times as you
- 42:06Speaker 4: possibly can. If he turns into the grinded out rock
- 42:10Speaker 4: fight type of game, then that gives a Chargers punters chance.
- 42:14Speaker 3: Short possession game where you know, you get in the
- 42:16Speaker 3: ball six or seven times instead of eight or nine. Right, Yeah,
- 42:19Speaker 3: it's advantage they want to do. They want to play
- 42:22Speaker 3: they do all year.
- 42:23Speaker 4: Yeah, and they're very good on third down offensively, Uh,
- 42:26Speaker 4: they're very good at moving chains and staying on the
- 42:28Speaker 4: field and all that kind of stuff. So you just
- 42:31Speaker 4: that's the type of game that they want to play.
- 42:34Speaker 4: And I think the Patriots have the ability because of
- 42:36Speaker 4: how explosive their offense is, they have the ability to
- 42:38Speaker 4: play the other way. And I think you need to
- 42:40Speaker 4: kind of come in and try to boat raise them.
- 42:42Speaker 6: That's just who's going to make the place on defense.
- 42:43Speaker 6: And that's you know, also four and fourth in place
- 42:46Speaker 6: per drive. I mean, so they're just and we've seen
- 42:48Speaker 6: the Patriots defense when they're at their worst over the
- 42:50Speaker 6: last few weeks of just nobody can make a play,
- 42:53Speaker 6: you know. I mean teams are just six yards four yards,
- 42:56Speaker 6: eight yards four yards, you know, right down the field.
- 42:58Speaker 6: That's what scares me is allowing them to just put
- 43:01Speaker 6: those drives and it's going to have can't get it.
- 43:04Speaker 1: They'll probably be there should be a couple of drive.
- 43:06Speaker 6: That are seven plays and and you got to make
- 43:09Speaker 6: a red zone stop. And you know, there's just there's
- 43:12Speaker 6: these little flaws that you can point out on this
- 43:13Speaker 6: Patriots team that you just you wonder when you get
- 43:16Speaker 6: in to these playoff games, what's gonna matter and what's
- 43:19Speaker 6: not going to matter. Does the red zone defense matter?
- 43:21Speaker 6: Do they get some red zone stops? Because now you
- 43:23Speaker 6: do it in the playoffs. You can say they were
- 43:24Speaker 6: thirty second all year long, but you get two stops
- 43:26Speaker 6: and that's the difference in the game.
- 43:28Speaker 1: Then this isn't the old days where you get to
- 43:30Speaker 1: buy your first game.
- 43:31Speaker 3: Well, and Mike's point is really valid to you know,
- 43:35Speaker 3: like all of these kinds of things playoff games, you're
- 43:37Speaker 3: expecting to have a tight game and those are the
- 43:41Speaker 3: little things that decide the games. Can you make the
- 43:43Speaker 3: four point play. Can you get a stop in the
- 43:45Speaker 3: red zone and the other team doesn't you you are
- 43:48Speaker 3: able to convert in the redstone. That's that's how the
- 43:51Speaker 3: separation happens. You know, you went forward on fourth down
- 43:54Speaker 3: twice and you got one. They went forward and fourth
- 43:56Speaker 3: down twice and you stopped them both times. You know
- 43:58Speaker 3: those that's the different in the game. Steal a possession here, yep.
- 44:02Speaker 3: You know it doesn't have to be like, well, you
- 44:04Speaker 3: gotta win the turnover battle, no poop. Yeah, you know,
- 44:07Speaker 3: like obviously you want to win the turnover battle. But
- 44:10Speaker 3: those key plays in every game has I don't know,
- 44:13Speaker 3: eight or ten of them? Do you win more than
- 44:16Speaker 3: you lose? You get the third and one? Do you
- 44:19Speaker 3: stop their third and one's? And that's why I brought
- 44:21Speaker 3: that up.
- 44:21Speaker 4: Now I want to play that kind of team.
- 44:23Speaker 3: I don't want to play that kind of game either,
- 44:24Speaker 3: But that's what these games generally come down to.
- 44:27Speaker 1: And that's and that's why I want you for third
- 44:29Speaker 1: mediums because I feel.
- 44:30Speaker 6: Like the third and mediums are where a lot of games,
- 44:32Speaker 6: those are the.
- 44:33Speaker 3: Margins seven and I had no interest in watching the
- 44:35Speaker 3: third medium, So you picked us up in that regard.
- 44:37Speaker 4: I just watch all the third down. I don't stereotype
- 44:41Speaker 4: against the specific kind of third down. I just I
- 44:44Speaker 4: think with this Chargers team, they're really well coached, They're
- 44:47Speaker 4: really good situationally, like third down, third and shorts, things
- 44:51Speaker 4: like that. I would not want to play that kind
- 44:53Speaker 4: of game with them. I would want to play a
- 44:55Speaker 4: game where our offense is healthier and is better than yours,
- 44:59Speaker 4: and we're just gonna hang points on the board that
- 45:01Speaker 4: you can't keep up with. Yeah, because if you start
- 45:03Speaker 4: to get into like oh it's you know, we got
- 45:06Speaker 4: to convert this fourth down or we got to get
- 45:08Speaker 4: this red zone stop or whatever, like that's their game,
- 45:11Speaker 4: Like that is how they beat teams. So I just
- 45:14Speaker 4: think that this is one of those games where I
- 45:16Speaker 4: think the Patriots are the better team.
- 45:18Speaker 1: So, like I always, how big a margin.
- 45:23Speaker 4: I think they're I don't know if it's a huge margin,
- 45:25Speaker 4: but I think they're a better team.
- 45:26Speaker 1: I don't mean points. I mean just like, you know,
- 45:29Speaker 1: our team is better than you buy a lot or
- 45:31Speaker 1: a little or.
- 45:32Speaker 4: You know enough that I think that if the Patriots
- 45:34Speaker 4: don't shoot themselves in the foot, they could win this game.
- 45:37Speaker 1: Came Okay, so if you play clean football, you win.
- 45:41Speaker 4: I think that if they play clean football and play
- 45:43Speaker 4: to the level that we've seen them play all year,
- 45:46Speaker 4: that this could be kind of an easy win.
- 45:49Speaker 1: But you know, easy is the wrong word, Like that
- 45:53Speaker 1: games that they've won, they've had lapses, you know, second
- 45:56Speaker 1: quarter or whatever. Can you afford to have a as
- 46:00Speaker 1: in this game? Or do you have to play full
- 46:02Speaker 1: sixty minutes?
- 46:02Speaker 4: I think you can afford it.
- 46:04Speaker 6: It's the playoff team. I think they're just guaranteed to justin.
- 46:07Speaker 6: Herbert's going to put a couple drives together and you
- 46:09Speaker 6: just have to be ready to accept that. I mean,
- 46:12Speaker 6: this is a good team. This is the playoffs.
- 46:13Speaker 1: This is I mean. And the thing that we almost
- 46:16Speaker 1: have to do and we forget to do is look
- 46:18Speaker 1: at it from the Chargers side, like what are they
- 46:21Speaker 1: worried about? Like like can they afford to have a lapse?
- 46:24Speaker 4: I think what I would worry about if I was
- 46:26Speaker 4: the Chargers, and what I'd be also feeling good about.
- 46:29Speaker 4: If I start with the feeling good, I'd feel good
- 46:31Speaker 4: about the fact that you're not facing a dominant pass rush,
- 46:34Speaker 4: so like you can.
- 46:36Speaker 1: It was Houston or you know what I mean, and
- 46:37Speaker 1: that's the time.
- 46:39Speaker 4: So you could realistically say, yeah, like Milton Williams and
- 46:42Speaker 4: Barmore are nice on the inside, but we we don't
- 46:45Speaker 4: feel like we're going to be overwhelmed on the line
- 46:47Speaker 4: of scrimmage offensively. I think the concern that I would
- 46:50Speaker 4: have if I was a Charger fan is that May
- 46:53Speaker 4: and McDaniels have just continuedly shredded zone. And if you're
- 46:57Speaker 4: gonna sit in zone against the Patriots, I think you're
- 46:59Speaker 4: gonna have trouble stopping them. So if you're the Chargers,
- 47:03Speaker 4: like can you pivot to more man to man? Can
- 47:05Speaker 4: you pivot to something else? They're not really built to
- 47:08Speaker 4: do that, so like where where does that rubber meet
- 47:11Speaker 4: the road? Like are they able to come up with
- 47:14Speaker 4: something else that's a change up? But maybe the Patriots
- 47:17Speaker 4: aren't as expecting as much to pivot to if Drake
- 47:20Speaker 4: May goes touchdown, touchdown, touchdown, because you're sitting in quarters
- 47:24Speaker 4: and he's just okay coming in.
- 47:26Speaker 1: Do we have Rabel today?
- 47:27Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 47:27Speaker 1: Ye? Okay, right real quick?
- 47:30Speaker 3: Yeah, reminder Stevenson AFC Offensive Player of.
- 47:33Speaker 1: The Week, Oh we go. So I think that's like
- 47:35Speaker 1: multiple times we've got that award right's six times this
- 47:38Speaker 1: season of seventeen or eighteen weeks. Yeah, and six different
- 47:42Speaker 1: players too.
- 47:43Speaker 3: The reasons why I have a lot of confidence that
- 47:45Speaker 3: Patriots moved the ball on Sunday night.
- 47:47Speaker 6: Yeah, we went back before catch twenty two.
- 47:50Speaker 1: Barth was hanging out.
- 47:51Speaker 6: We were trying to figure out how many times they
- 47:52Speaker 6: they've had multiple guys win this award. And I think
- 47:55Speaker 6: this is at least as far as we could see
- 47:57Speaker 6: a team record. That's six different thirty.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Cent of the season the Patriots have had that award.
- 48:02Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, it's three times on Session's amazing, Chase on
- 48:06Speaker 6: on defense and May yeah, so yeah, and then and
- 48:09Speaker 6: now steven since the sixth yeah, O three, they had
- 48:12Speaker 6: a bunch a bunch of special teamers like Bethel Johnson
- 48:14Speaker 6: and uh I think the other one was oh seven,
- 48:16Speaker 6: but it was like Brady had like four of them.
- 48:18Speaker 6: So you know, that's all right. Let's get some phone
- 48:21Speaker 6: calls in here.
- 48:22Speaker 9: Uh.
- 48:24Speaker 1: I know people are waiting to get involved, So let's
- 48:27Speaker 1: start with Danny and Daytona. What's up, Danny?
- 48:31Speaker 9: Hey, can you guys?
- 48:33Speaker 1: Yes, we can all right?
- 48:35Speaker 2: Uh calling back.
- 48:36Speaker 9: I tried to call it, so I just wanted to
- 48:38Speaker 9: time in the first thing I wanted to say was
- 48:41Speaker 9: it was a good game. You know, Miami just moved
- 48:44Speaker 9: past that. Uh. I am tired of the whole Drake
- 48:46Speaker 9: Drake made nickname. So let's move past that.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Okay, it's your show, Danny, you tell us what to do.
- 48:51Speaker 4: I agree, Danny here spot on.
- 48:54Speaker 9: Uh So let's move past that. Like said, uh to
- 48:57Speaker 9: Evansborn I called, you know, spoken early or twenty two.
- 49:02Speaker 10: I do.
- 49:03Speaker 9: There's well two things. Actually. The first thing is I
- 49:06Speaker 9: think the Pop Douglas should be a big factor in
- 49:09Speaker 9: this game. I was watching this kind on CBS. He's
- 49:12Speaker 9: talked about with Matt Ryan that they should have used
- 49:15Speaker 9: Pop Douglas and and I guess step On too to
- 49:20Speaker 9: kind of like stretch the field horizontally, just because the
- 49:24Speaker 9: Chargers have a really good safety and corner group. So
- 49:29Speaker 9: if we're able to stress the field, which Josh likes
- 49:31Speaker 9: to do, those those bubble screens and those crops, you know,
- 49:34Speaker 9: those slants and outs and whatnot, and ends, if we
- 49:38Speaker 9: can use pop Douglas and maybe a couple other good
- 49:41Speaker 9: receivers a little smaller shifty, maybe y'all Paull favorite e
- 49:44Speaker 9: f and Chism throw them in there, Uh, kind of
- 49:47Speaker 9: having some confusion maybe blocking or whatever. Then some designs
- 49:51Speaker 9: off of that. I think that'll kind of kind of
- 49:55Speaker 9: throw off the Chargers because they're you know, if we
- 49:57Speaker 9: showed some looks like we're trying to target downfield, but
- 50:00Speaker 9: we're really just throwing in the middle, you know, it
- 50:02Speaker 9: might get set him up. So I think that's one thing.
- 50:05Speaker 9: The other day, when the time in is on the
- 50:08Speaker 9: the coaching carousals, are you guys surprised to see that
- 50:12Speaker 9: Detroit blew out their staff, Washington blew out their staff, Dallas,
- 50:17Speaker 9: I'm not surprised. Ebra Flus. I don't see how he
- 50:19Speaker 9: could find himself another job. He should have been fired
- 50:22Speaker 9: a long time ago. And then the other thing, uh.
- 50:28Speaker 1: Show.
- 50:29Speaker 9: Yeah, Arizona was talking about or somebody mentioned on the
- 50:34Speaker 9: broadcast about bringing Josh McDaniels there, but I don't see
- 50:37Speaker 9: that happening. I did talk about Devin earlier, about Thomas Brown,
- 50:42Speaker 9: Thomas Brown saying that they were gonna interview him there
- 50:45Speaker 9: with Arizona, and then uh, and then Brady. The last
- 50:48Speaker 9: thing with the with the Raiders. Didn't know the Raiders
- 50:53Speaker 9: are paying fire coaches fifty five millions that's even including
- 50:58Speaker 9: Josh McDaniels.
- 50:59Speaker 1: And that's a lot of Pizza Hut commercials.
- 51:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it's almost like the owners have a lot of money.
- 51:04Speaker 3: Thanks Danny, appreciate the call.
- 51:06Speaker 6: I don't think this will be a big pop. Douglas
- 51:08Speaker 6: well every thinking of his own thing. I mean, this
- 51:10Speaker 6: have his own team, is this you know idea?
- 51:12Speaker 4: Yeah, and I don't like this is not like I
- 51:15Speaker 4: didn't like. You can take all the bubble screens and
- 51:17Speaker 4: send them someplace else this week, like this is you
- 51:19Speaker 4: want to get down the field.
- 51:20Speaker 3: I'd like to see Booty, you know, get back to
- 51:23Speaker 3: the way it was earlier in the season and catch
- 51:25Speaker 3: a couple of bombs.
- 51:26Speaker 1: I mean, how often in the playoffs do guys emerge
- 51:29Speaker 1: and do things that they didn't do in the regular season.
- 51:36Speaker 1: That's good question.
- 51:36Speaker 6: My mind goes right to, like Malcolm Mitchell is a
- 51:39Speaker 6: guy that maybe stuffed up and maybe exceeded in production.
- 51:42Speaker 4: Guy on the Seahawks and Super Bowl forty nine that
- 51:45Speaker 4: was freaking yeah, yeah, yeah, it was god that.
- 51:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:51Speaker 3: I don't think that happens all that often. But I
- 51:53Speaker 3: could see Douglas. I mean, Douglas has been a part
- 51:55Speaker 3: of the offense periodically.
- 51:57Speaker 6: Throughout the Yeah, yeah, he pops up Douglas.
- 51:59Speaker 3: But I don'tdn't think like to Fred's point, I don't
- 52:01Speaker 3: think it's going to be an eight for one hundred
- 52:03Speaker 3: and twenty for Douglas. It might be three, right, you know,
- 52:06Speaker 3: and you say, wow, Pop Dogg has had a really
- 52:07Speaker 3: good game today, Like I could see that, But he's
- 52:09Speaker 3: done that periodically throughout the scene.
- 52:11Speaker 4: If they play like Houston or Denver, then Pop Douglas
- 52:14Speaker 4: will have have a have his day. I think when
- 52:17Speaker 4: teams that play more man to man, uh this this
- 52:20Speaker 4: team plays a lot of that, like Exotic Zone, so
- 52:23Speaker 4: like it's going to be reading it out, it's going
- 52:25Speaker 4: to be knowing where the soft spots are.
- 52:28Speaker 3: You know, he wouldn't, I agree with you, And he's
- 52:31Speaker 3: like he wouldn't see Lass or Stingley, right, And then
- 52:34Speaker 3: if they're playing man, yeah, he's going to get like
- 52:37Speaker 3: the third corner.
- 52:38Speaker 4: They usually play, the fourth, they usually play the safety.
- 52:40Speaker 1: Petra right, the always optimistic Christian from LA what's up?
- 52:46Speaker 11: Hey you guys, Hey, you guys, Hey, you guys. You
- 52:49Speaker 11: know what I gotta say. I want to ask if
- 52:52Speaker 11: anybody out there feels the way I feel and and
- 52:55Speaker 11: that's like Peter fran that was there, well, the Patriots
- 53:00Speaker 11: that was there, like as the dynasty came together right
- 53:04Speaker 11: in the heyday of the dynasty, that took it personally,
- 53:06Speaker 11: that made it part of my personality. I was a
- 53:08Speaker 11: winner because the Pats were winners, right, and then to
- 53:11Speaker 11: see it all collapse. But now to see a spark, right,
- 53:16Speaker 11: like a real spark. And it's not like we have
- 53:18Speaker 11: the second year quarterback that's kind of coming along and
- 53:21Speaker 11: the team's colassic, but this kid is like amazing, right,
- 53:25Speaker 11: like like really amazing, and it makes it, it makes
- 53:28Speaker 11: them different because it makes it feel like we actually
- 53:30Speaker 11: have a kind of chance to be that good at
- 53:33Speaker 11: some point again. And so with that like waving but
- 53:36Speaker 11: falling up to my check, I'm feeling like a thirty
- 53:39Speaker 11: eight ten victory. And then onto this colossal matchup gets
- 53:42Speaker 11: Buffalo in the AFC Championship game.
- 53:45Speaker 4: But if.
- 53:51Speaker 11: If the team's like journey ends of this week, we
- 53:54Speaker 11: still win. We won the season, We won the proverbial
- 53:58Speaker 11: war of tandis organization can rebuild and then we win
- 54:01Speaker 11: the future. And so that makes me feel like like
- 54:04Speaker 11: we are witnessed again, like the heyday, I'm doing thirty eight.
- 54:07Speaker 1: Pens because one visit to the picklebar and he's ready
- 54:10Speaker 1: to go.
- 54:11Speaker 4: I would just you know, the caller before, all right, Christian,
- 54:16Speaker 4: but the caller before I mentioned some of the coaching changes,
- 54:19Speaker 4: coordinator levels and stuff like that, Like Washington was just
- 54:22Speaker 4: in the NFC Championship game.
- 54:23Speaker 1: Last year and now they and what good did it?
- 54:25Speaker 1: Tom fired both.
- 54:26Speaker 4: Their coordinators or cod Dude, if Detroit was the same spot,
- 54:32Speaker 4: shame their offensive.
- 54:34Speaker 1: But if we do, if we if we make a
- 54:36Speaker 1: run next year, get during the year. Yeah, yeah, I
- 54:41Speaker 1: don't know.
- 54:41Speaker 3: I'm I'm just saying Matt was like one year in Dallas,
- 54:45Speaker 3: Like it's like he should have been gone a long
- 54:47Speaker 3: time ago. Like he's just like it was his show.
- 54:50Speaker 3: You know, we're just like living it. But I know
- 54:52Speaker 3: he was talking.
- 54:52Speaker 4: About the NFL is a year to year thing happens
- 54:55Speaker 4: all the time. Twenty twenty six could be a very
- 54:57Speaker 4: different thing.
- 54:58Speaker 1: Could be and it probably will be better or worse.
- 55:01Speaker 1: Brad's in Ohio. What's up, Brad? How you gots doing doing?
- 55:07Speaker 1: All right? Brad?
- 55:10Speaker 2: All right?
- 55:11Speaker 9: I agree with a whole few about jesse Mentor.
- 55:15Speaker 11: I did watch him in Michigan when he's the defensive
- 55:22Speaker 11: have dried. Yeah, there's there's gonna be.
- 55:27Speaker 3: Time pressure and there's times you.
- 55:33Speaker 1: Gotta talking to the phone. I think he has a back.
- 55:38Speaker 11: They're going to.
- 55:40Speaker 1: Okay, we're losing your Sorry about that.
- 55:43Speaker 3: But I do think I understand and and Evan was
- 55:46Speaker 3: nodding to you know, Minter is a guy who has
- 55:49Speaker 3: a clue. You know, he did some NFL type stuff
- 55:53Speaker 3: at Michigan with Harbaugh. Those guys have been together. There's
- 55:57Speaker 3: the reason why Jesse Mintter is one of the guys
- 55:59Speaker 3: that's being talked about to fill one of these seven openings.
- 56:03Speaker 3: He's had a really, really good couple of years with
- 56:05Speaker 3: the Chardgers.
- 56:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 56:07Speaker 3: Yeah, wouldn't be surprised that Baltimore gives him a real
- 56:10Speaker 3: good looks.
- 56:11Speaker 1: He was there. He was there, Brad.
- 56:14Speaker 4: I knew Brad's a Michigan guy, so I should haven't
- 56:17Speaker 4: seen that one. He must have gone to the machine.
- 56:20Speaker 1: We have some feedback on the fan mentality. A bunch
- 56:25Speaker 1: of emails Spencer Wrights and Patrios fans are preparing to
- 56:28Speaker 1: lose because we went four and thirteen back to back seasons.
- 56:31Speaker 1: These same fans, of course want us to win the
- 56:33Speaker 1: Super Bowl. Well, I mean, maybe they're preparing to lose.
- 56:38Speaker 1: But I'm what I'm saying is, because you went four
- 56:40Speaker 1: and thirteen last year. See, you should be appreciative of
- 56:43Speaker 1: what's going on here and if they don't go all
- 56:46Speaker 1: the way, Okay.
- 56:47Speaker 3: You always should look at a game and just say
- 56:50Speaker 3: you should never look at it and say there's no
- 56:51Speaker 3: way we can win this game or there's no way
- 56:53Speaker 3: we can lose this game. I mean, you're in the playoff.
- 56:55Speaker 3: R I mean, this is not like Tom Brady's heyday
- 56:58Speaker 3: when you're having double buys against Tim Tebow. No, Like,
- 57:01Speaker 3: you know, like Christian made the comment thirty eight to ten,
- 57:04Speaker 3: and like, I'm not ruling that out. I think the
- 57:07Speaker 3: Patriots could get on a roll and continue. I think
- 57:09Speaker 3: they're playing really well. But he said, tell me why not? Well,
- 57:12Speaker 3: why not? You've played one team this year that's as
- 57:15Speaker 3: good as the Chargers. You beat them twenty three to twenty,
- 57:18Speaker 3: and you lost to them thirty five to thirty one.
- 57:20Speaker 3: You haven't played any other team that's anywhere near as
- 57:22Speaker 3: good as this one.
- 57:24Speaker 1: And I don't think that at the time.
- 57:26Speaker 4: No, but Baltimore is closed.
- 57:27Speaker 3: No now, Yeah, you could say that, but they're not
- 57:32Speaker 3: even here, Like they didn't even win more games than
- 57:34Speaker 3: they lost. Now, you could make an argument because of
- 57:36Speaker 3: personnel and the injury, not right.
- 57:38Speaker 4: Here because of a forty two yard field goal.
- 57:39Speaker 3: No, okay, but they would be here and they would
- 57:42Speaker 3: be out in a game like because they would be
- 57:44Speaker 3: nine and eight instead of eight and nine. I don't
- 57:47Speaker 3: think they're as good as the Chargers now heading into
- 57:50Speaker 3: the season. Would I say that Ravens roster was better
- 57:52Speaker 3: than the Chargers by a lot? Yes, answer would have
- 57:54Speaker 3: been yes. But they didn't have that team all year.
- 57:57Speaker 4: But the Ravens are healthier now than the Charger.
- 57:59Speaker 3: It doesn't matter, not not Sunday night, they weren't. The
- 58:01Speaker 3: whole secondary was out and that's when Aaron Rodgers turned
- 58:03Speaker 3: into Aaron Rudge.
- 58:04Speaker 4: Kyle Hamilton got hurt during that.
- 58:06Speaker 3: So did Nate Wiggins, and so did the Woozy, a
- 58:08Speaker 3: guy who ended up falling down. He came back in
- 58:10Speaker 3: the game and fell down on the game winning touchdown.
- 58:12Speaker 1: Woozy, it was a little loozy. Oh go ahead.
- 58:16Speaker 6: I was just gonna say, Fred, should we should we
- 58:17Speaker 6: talk about Friday Night?
- 58:19Speaker 4: Should we?
- 58:19Speaker 6: Uh?
- 58:19Speaker 1: Sure?
- 58:20Speaker 2: Up?
- 58:21Speaker 1: Hype that job.
- 58:22Speaker 6: Du All Access Live Patriots Playoff Kickoff Kickoff Party.
- 58:26Speaker 1: Sorry they get that right.
- 58:27Speaker 6: All Access Live Patriots Playoff Kickoff Party here uh ptury
- 58:31Speaker 6: Atcheleette Stadium, ending with a live taping of All Access.
- 58:35Speaker 1: I won't be on it this week. Uh wow, you
- 58:37Speaker 1: got you got big time.
- 58:38Speaker 4: They SPT you.
- 58:39Speaker 1: Out, but we'n start will be on it now. Come
- 58:43Speaker 1: on down six pm Friday.
- 58:44Speaker 6: Uh starts here down right outside the right outside the stadium.
- 58:48Speaker 1: They'll be in the plaza.
- 58:49Speaker 6: They'll have photo ops, a DJ, a drum line, giveaways,
- 58:52Speaker 6: including to tickets to Sunday's game. So I hope everybody
- 58:55Speaker 6: come down. Vince Wilfork and other Patriots alumni will be appearing.
- 58:58Speaker 6: So that's uh yeah, six to eight here at Gillette Stadium,
- 59:01Speaker 6: and they're gonna cap it off with the All Access.
- 59:04Speaker 3: Part of our own promotions. It's amazing. So it's amazing.
- 59:09Speaker 1: Come down. It starts at six, So this party starts
- 59:13Speaker 1: at six out outside and then the All Access show
- 59:18Speaker 1: starts at seven. You can either be in the plaza
- 59:20Speaker 1: where the main stage is, or up at the Harp,
- 59:23Speaker 1: the bar here at Patriot Place that overlooks the plaza.
- 59:27Speaker 1: They'll be showing everything in there on the monitors as well.
- 59:30Speaker 1: Uh so either one and then you know, stay at
- 59:33Speaker 1: the harp and watch college football that night. So yes,
- 59:36Speaker 1: so it's a big night. Come on down six o'clock.
- 59:39Speaker 1: It's all free.
- 59:40Speaker 6: I told Paul, I'm gonna calm. I think we're gonna
- 59:42Speaker 6: bring my family. We're gonna have dinner here at Patriot Place,
- 59:44Speaker 6: and then we're gonna walk buy and then we're gonna.
- 59:46Speaker 4: Heckle do so thing we usually.
- 59:52Speaker 1: Got to dinner Friday night.
- 59:53Speaker 4: And why we come out of the sushi place?
- 59:56Speaker 6: Maybe maybe maybe that was on the list. Actually we
- 1:00:01Speaker 6: were discussing it last night. Nothing against we love you know,
- 1:00:04Speaker 6: we love some saga hibachi up here, but that barbecue
- 1:00:07Speaker 6: has been a.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: Minute we went there. So yeah, bbn NH writes in first,
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: Fred's all right to start. Every show makes my day.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: It never changes, and it's always great. Speaking of never changing.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Regarding the debate amongst Fred, Paul, and Evan about how
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: it will feel, why isn't deuced part of it. It's
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: about how it will feel if the Patriots lose. Paul
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: and Fred simply speak with the rationality of older folks
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: who don't care what anyone thinks or says about them.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: They know what passes their eye tests, and that's that.
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: Evan is entangled in the web of the populace and
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: doesn't want to see the opinions of silly people who
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: negate his ball knowing anyway, Go Patriots, Let's see DMX
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: have another three hundred yard game and get another touchdown
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: the Chisholm. I guess it's Drake may Drake may X.
- 1:00:55Speaker 4: I agree with with him, though it's a it's my
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: LEAs favorite part of sports fandom at the moment is
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: the Twitter machine. It is the noise that comes from it.
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: For some people, it's easier to not than others. Like
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: I've I've started to get there at my old age
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: of thirty three. I'm starting to get to the point
- 1:01:15Speaker 4: where I don't give a crap of what's going on
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: in my phone. But that's not the norm. I would
- 1:01:21Speaker 4: say the norm sports fan right now is you know,
- 1:01:24Speaker 4: chirping other fan bases and whatever. Like it's just the
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: NonStop cesspool.
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: I like that email Yeah yeah, Tony and potton Uk
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: on the seat, we told you you're a fraud. And
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: those saying they don't want an easier schedule of that
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: was given to that. I don't know what that means,
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: but as you've all said, we've had this schedule because
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: we have been more than useless the previous two seasons.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: The NFL's creates the schedules in this way to create
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: interest in even the playing field. In that way, it's
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: been a success, and the Patriots were able to recruit
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: well and take advantage of that schedule. However, without the
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: great work from the recruitment and coaching staff, we would
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: never have been in a position to take advantage of
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: the schedule. I'm with Fred and Paul, but I'm also
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: a similar age. Just turn that social crap off if
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: we lose and forget about it.
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: Well, and I would say, if it really bothers you, yeah,
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: Like I know, I'm saying.
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: You're trying to explain the mentality of the people. That
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: Fred brought up is that this is the way that
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: this is the climate now, is that we have to
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: listen to Cam Newton on TV and then you have
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: to listen to the people on your phone and all
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: these people are just yelling at you telling you how
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: easy the schedule is.
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: I guess I picked in that, but I would never
- 1:02:41Speaker 3: look at Cam Newton and take that seriously for a second.
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: No one's taking it seriously.
- 1:02:46Speaker 3: But you know, I mean I would look at, you know,
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: the the haters that are going to throw the schedule,
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: and I'd be like, yeah, yeah, well, you know, I
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: don't think that they played a very good schedule either,
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: so I can sort of agree with that. Now, again,
- 1:03:00Speaker 3: those guys are going to just claim you wouldn't have
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: been in the playoffs in the first place even if
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: they win. So you can't beat those guys. I don't know,
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: because those are just loud mouths. It's just because a
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: lot of teams that have really really bad schedules have won.
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: Oh yeah, it won't be it won't be nearly as
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: loud in those.
- 1:03:15Speaker 7: Oh it won't.
- 1:03:16Speaker 3: No, it won't be as loud.
- 1:03:17Speaker 6: I've seen a couple of historical things of like a
- 1:03:19Speaker 6: lot of Super Bowl champions, Like I mean, I think the.
- 1:03:22Speaker 3: Rams they benefit from very bad like the benefit from
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: very bad kind part of the formula, And I mean
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: a light's getting shown on it this week.
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: But I think it's a bigger question of do you
- 1:03:32Speaker 6: think it serves the team better to yeah, maybe they
- 1:03:34Speaker 6: don't play the iron during the regular season, and they
- 1:03:38Speaker 6: feast and they get confident, and they beat up on
- 1:03:40Speaker 6: some teams. But you know, a team that maybe has
- 1:03:42Speaker 6: had ups and downs and battles and had to fight
- 1:03:44Speaker 6: through some injuries and they sneak into the playoffs, but
- 1:03:46Speaker 6: they've been tested a little bit.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 1:03:48Speaker 6: And I'm not saying, you know, this will be another
- 1:03:50Speaker 6: example of how true or not that is.
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: I think there's two sides of that, And I would
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: say it's inarguable that the first part worked for the Patriots,
- 1:03:57Speaker 3: right they got they had a little soft spot, you know,
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: and they had some they got some confidence underneath him,
- 1:04:02Speaker 3: and then they went to Buffalo and won. Yeah, and
- 1:04:05Speaker 3: it was like they took off there.
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: There goes the greatest there was.
- 1:04:10Speaker 3: You need to brush up on your third and medium.
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: So Evan stays for the whole show.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: That's too bad, because Pauli in La says Evan FM all,
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: no one can take away the fun of the season.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Losing is as important as winning and how you handle it.
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: Focus on the positive and shut out the noise.
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: That's kind of how I am, Like, I don't it
- 1:04:28Speaker 3: doesn't really it bothers me that my team lost it
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: doesn't bother me because what other people say about it.
- 1:04:34Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it doesn't.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: Know, I really affect. I understand what Evan is.
- 1:04:37Speaker 6: But I'm with you guys in that I've kind of
- 1:04:39Speaker 6: slowly extracted myself from needing to you know, you want
- 1:04:42Speaker 6: to hear what I think about the Patriots. I talk
- 1:04:44Speaker 6: about six hours a week here, and I talk about
- 1:04:46Speaker 6: it whatever four hours on the weekend.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: Like you know this is in some weeks.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: You have more TV shows to talk about to disappointed
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: this week, so you have a little less Yeah, well,
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: can't give your meeting with Wherry.
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: I know why the Jason clarifies that DMX means Drake
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: may ten. Oh okay, we got a new one DMX,
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: so like TV twelve, I think y'all going to make
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: me lose my mind one.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: Speaking of DMX, I saw something that made me chuckle
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: a little bit today. Jamie Erdall, who hosts the NFL
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: what was it called, Get.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: Up, Wake Up, Good morning, Hell Up, Good.
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: Morning football, Good morning football, Get the hell up. She
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: they were all asked to list their teams, the most
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: consistent team and she picked the page of poss right
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: but the and they write them out on the white
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: board and they show them. She wrote the new New England.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: Patriots Patriots, you know, like Drake Drake, Yeah, yeah, good,
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: I love it.
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: Kevin, Yeah, I think it was New New England Patriots Patriots.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: I've heard this one too, and I don't understand, uh
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: scared the charges may have the Patriots number based on
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: how bad they beat the Patriots last time they played. Yeah,
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: that's I've heard your shows. I've heard this on your
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: show that I.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: Have not heard that on show. You know, I don't
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: think it has any relevance because this does. These are
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: not the same player if they were the same team,
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: like I would say, okay.
- 1:06:12Speaker 6: Yeah, sure, I generally agree. I will just say though,
- 1:06:15Speaker 6: I don't dismiss the fact of Justin Herbert came into
- 1:06:18Speaker 6: the stadium and played well and should have familiarity with
- 1:06:21Speaker 6: how it is and confidence, and I agree it definitely
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: doesn't matter. But I do think that that doesn't mean
- 1:06:26Speaker 6: nothing to me. It means a little bit.
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: It means nothing to all. Right, We're going to take
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: a break now, and probably during the break will uh
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: you know, run into Rabel. So we'll either be back

- 1:08:51Speaker 14: shout of the playoffs, Yeah it was big. We talked
- 1:08:54Speaker 14: all week. I mean we still had you know, business.
- 1:08:56Speaker 8: It is a division opponent, so you know, come in
- 1:09:00Speaker 8: here getting fourteen wins on the season. That was you know,
- 1:09:03Speaker 8: our big thing was just finishing what we started. So
- 1:09:05Speaker 8: he was able to do that. You know we're going
- 1:09:09Speaker 8: now it's a new season, so we're aside.
- 1:09:11Speaker 15: For Christian, you've been here back to back four win seasons.
- 1:09:15Speaker 15: Now you know game wraps up fourteen wins. You're on
- 1:09:18Speaker 15: the precipice of playing in your first playoff game. I
- 1:09:20Speaker 15: know this one just standard. You've got a week to go,
- 1:09:21Speaker 15: But what's the mindset heading into your first shot at
- 1:09:24Speaker 15: the postseason.
- 1:09:25Speaker 8: I'm excited, very excited to be able to play in January.
- 1:09:31Speaker 8: I mean, it's it's a it's a as a kid,
- 1:09:34Speaker 8: it's a dream come true. Really, I mean just being
- 1:09:36Speaker 8: able to play in the playoffs. And we came in
- 1:09:40Speaker 8: and Brays came in and said, you know, win the
- 1:09:42Speaker 8: division and host home playoff games, so we are able
- 1:09:46Speaker 8: to do that.
- 1:09:47Speaker 16: So, like I said, my understanding is the Cardinals ask
- 1:09:56Speaker 16: permission to talk to Thomas Brown. I was wondering what
- 1:10:00Speaker 16: he's provided, what he's done for you.
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: Yeah, we'll focus you know, I mean I want the
- 1:10:04Speaker 2: best for every single coach that's here. I do, and
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: we'll focus on that. Whenever they can talk to our coaches,
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: we'll approach that. I'm excited for every one of them
- 1:10:12Speaker 2: that could get an opportunity. I'll help them however I can.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: But our focus is obviously on the on the Chargers
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: this week and a and a huge task against a
- 1:10:22Speaker 2: a really good football team.
- 1:10:23Speaker 17: Other than the obvious physical tools, what does drum and
- 1:10:25Speaker 17: James bring to the table.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: The beats so good? Uh, you know, I think he's
- 1:10:30Speaker 2: got really good instincts. You know, when he blitzes whether
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: to go inside or go outside, I think he uh,
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: you know, there's a passion, there's a there's a love
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: for football. There there's a play demeanor. He's a very
- 1:10:42Speaker 2: good tackler. You know, he can cover, he matches up,
- 1:10:46Speaker 2: he has versatility to play down or you know, close
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: to the line of scrimmage. He can play you know,
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: in the deeper part of the field. And again I
- 1:10:58Speaker 2: just having the luxury, uh to coach a Pro Bowl.
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: He was on that team and just an unbelievable person.
- 1:11:08Speaker 2: I remember his mom was getting married and he's like coaching.
- 1:11:11Speaker 2: He like he like communicated, like reached out like hey,
- 1:11:13Speaker 2: I'm gonna miss it down. I was like, buddy, this
- 1:11:16Speaker 2: is I don't think there's any rules to the Pro Bowl.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: And so just remembering that about him, I always have
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: a lot of respect for him. Obviously the player is,
- 1:11:24Speaker 2: but the person.
- 1:11:25Speaker 18: I said, Drake has a lot of answers to defensive
- 1:11:29Speaker 18: tests this year. What is it about you and Josh
- 1:11:32Speaker 18: the whole staff being sort of proactive about making sure
- 1:11:36Speaker 18: he's ready when he sees something.
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: Maybe that there's a lot of growth there. And I
- 1:11:40Speaker 2: think a lot of growth as we've worked from the
- 1:11:43Speaker 2: off season through training camp and joint practices versus the
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: Commanders and the Vikings and against our defense, and then
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: working through the regular season, you know, just trying to
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: give him the best chance and to put us in
- 1:11:57Speaker 2: the right situation. And I think he's learned from some
- 1:12:02Speaker 2: of those instances where maybe he could have gone to
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: something else, and I think he's learned from that. So
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: that's been really good to see. And that's you know,
- 1:12:11Speaker 2: credit to Josh obviously.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: In Ashton Chargers playing style, you talked a.
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: Lot about your own with you kind of learned.
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: About, you know, what they do with big, physical football team.
- 1:12:23Speaker 2: They don't really beat themselves. They statistically excellent in every
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: category across the front. Defensively, they don't just stop the
- 1:12:32Speaker 2: run well or they don't give up, you know, but
- 1:12:34Speaker 2: they're good on third down, or good on the short yardage,
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: excellent in the red zone, and I think it's uh,
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: you look at a play that broke against the Texans
- 1:12:46Speaker 2: of was the screen to the left, and you know,
- 1:12:49Speaker 2: every single guy on defense is chasing the ball and
- 1:12:51Speaker 2: Khalil Mack wins the race and hammers the football out
- 1:12:55Speaker 2: and causes the fumble. So those those are the things
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: that I can appreciate, you know, with with a defense
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: or for a team. And you know, this is certainly
- 1:13:05Speaker 2: a team that's gonna you know, play that way Moses
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: meant to your team. And in the slaughter host great
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: veteran presence, I think that he's played well. It hasn't
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: just been a presence. I mean he's protected the quarterback
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: and uh it's been out there and you know, we
- 1:13:22Speaker 2: got some guys sick today Morgan will be in one
- 1:13:26Speaker 2: of the that group of guys that are that are sick,
- 1:13:29Speaker 2: so he won't be getting the physical reps. But just
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: I think, uh, everything that we've we've wanted him to
- 1:13:38Speaker 2: be and needed him to be as far as changing
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: over some personnel and and adding him. So that's been
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: it's been fun to watch that group. Joel like who
- 1:13:47Speaker 2: else is sick? Brad Berry, Anthony Jennings, Verderian Lowe.
- 1:13:56Speaker 17: Does you rely on team identity as you get into
- 1:14:00Speaker 17: what you've been able to build since really day one year?
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: Well, we've said this numerous times. You can't just play
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: hard and hope to win, you know, run like this
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: with the football and hope that you're going to be
- 1:14:13Speaker 2: able to break tackles or gain a bunch of yards.
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: So you need production, you need execution. So I think
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: that it helps you. I mean, it's it's critical and
- 1:14:25Speaker 2: being able to keep our composure with whatever happens in
- 1:14:27Speaker 2: the football game, making sure that we execute in critical situations,
- 1:14:34Speaker 2: you know. So again I think that the identity is important,
- 1:14:37Speaker 2: but execution and guys making plays and us you know,
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: all sticking together, you know, is going to mean the most.
- 1:14:48Speaker 2: Chargers are second in the league in time of possession.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: What do they do well that allows them to put
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: onto the ball and in a.
- 1:14:55Speaker 2: Playoff situation, how dangerous is a team that holds onto
- 1:14:58Speaker 2: the ball for.
- 1:14:58Speaker 9: A long time?
- 1:15:00Speaker 2: Well, they certainly you know, either a one or two
- 1:15:02Speaker 2: based on whatever you look at. They they do a
- 1:15:08Speaker 2: nice shot. They don't mind it being in third and three,
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: and you know, run it to stay on track. And
- 1:15:16Speaker 2: because they're really good on third down quarterback that can
- 1:15:20Speaker 2: that can scramble for a first down, they can run it,
- 1:15:23Speaker 2: and they can multiple different route concepts and those down
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: in distances, and so just probably the more that they
- 1:15:33Speaker 2: possess it, obviously the less that we get it. But
- 1:15:36Speaker 2: I also think it's a mentality where they're trying to
- 1:15:38Speaker 2: wear you down and and win the game in the
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: fourth quarter and put the five minute tea you know,
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: I mean, put their five minute offense out there and
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: and and run it, run it to win it. Like
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: last time when we had a playoff game here, you
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: were the visiting teams, Hyph coach, you describe this place
- 1:15:56Speaker 2: I have as a fifer stead. I know it's been
- 1:15:59Speaker 2: a couple of years, but what did that turn meeting
- 1:16:00Speaker 2: to you back then and what does it take to
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: leave you with that kind of reputation and your currency? Well,
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: I mean it just got to be a tough place
- 1:16:08Speaker 2: to play in January. If we're able to get there
- 1:16:10Speaker 2: in January like we are, we have to create an
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: environment that that makes it difficult to play. Whatever the
- 1:16:17Speaker 2: record was back you know, when I was looking at
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: the stats in twenty nineteen, twenty one and three or
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: whatever it was in January. I'm going to be off
- 1:16:24Speaker 2: by a couple of games because it's a few years ago,
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: but that you know, we were talking about, you know
- 1:16:31Speaker 2: what we would have to do to come in and win,
- 1:16:33Speaker 2: and we need to create a hard environment. We need
- 1:16:35Speaker 2: to play well and let our crowd feed off of
- 1:16:38Speaker 2: us and let us feed off of them.
- 1:16:41Speaker 9: Personally in peril.
- 1:16:43Speaker 17: Latery he comes back this week dealing with injury. Do
- 1:16:46Speaker 17: you have a sense of where you might be from
- 1:16:47Speaker 17: a pass rur standpoint midweek or do you have to
- 1:16:49Speaker 17: find out the first quarter kind of when the giguet.
- 1:16:51Speaker 2: Is going on a past rush?
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: Yeah, how much rush you might have with just your typical.
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: Cour No, man, I don't think that's a something that
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: you could tell in practice. I mean, you got to
- 1:17:03Speaker 2: go out there and win and live action, and not
- 1:17:04Speaker 2: only win, you have to be able to you know,
- 1:17:07Speaker 2: get the guy on the ground. You know, Justin's just
- 1:17:11Speaker 2: great play strength, toughness. You know, can avoid and scramble
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: for a lot of yards and can stiff arm you
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: and you know, so again, I think that'll have to
- 1:17:21Speaker 2: be determined Sunday night from Walder Stevens, and he.
- 1:17:27Speaker 16: Was named AFC Offensive Player in the League, which was
- 1:17:29Speaker 16: actually the first time he's gotten his award his career.
- 1:17:32Speaker 4: What was it like to see him get that recognition
- 1:17:34Speaker 4: for his performance?
- 1:17:37Speaker 2: Always excited for our players, and you know, sounded like
- 1:17:40Speaker 2: a broken record, but I think he continued to do
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: the things that we needed him to do to help
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: us win, and in turn was rewarded for it with touchdowns,
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: with rushing yards, with you know, big catch there, but
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: also he protected a quarterback. So I'm excited and happy
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: for him, recognized him, and then we moved on.
- 1:18:03Speaker 4: Like it's the first game this season where it's wait
- 1:18:06Speaker 4: or go home.
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: He said, it's a heightened sense of urgency around here.
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: You know. I mean, we need to embrace the preparation
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: and I want them to continue to enjoy, you know,
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: the execution and everything that goes on with us. I'm excited.
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: I'm excited for these guys to prepare them, excited to
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: coach them. So I mean, I hope they'll we're locked
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: in every week and imagine we'll we'll get everything we
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: can out of them.
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: Like he's just kind of alluded to it to just
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: to be in this position.
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: Bringing playoff football back to Ploxborough.
- 1:18:39Speaker 2: Here, I don't want. Yeah, I mean I'm I'm happy,
- 1:18:42Speaker 2: I'm excited, but also we're not here just to you know,
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: get here. You know, we we have to you know,
- 1:18:48Speaker 2: be able to host games and compete for championships. So
- 1:18:52Speaker 2: there's not going to be any consolation prize for anybody.
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: You know, we understand what we have to do.
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: Previous matchups with Great Roman, what have you noticed about
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: how he operates?
- 1:19:03Speaker 2: Does he kind of have a style that he appears
- 1:19:05Speaker 2: to or receive Well, I mean, you know, Greg's gonna
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: they're gonna be physical, and then they're gonna marry the
- 1:19:11Speaker 2: play action pass and they off the run actions. They're
- 1:19:15Speaker 2: gonna look at things that they have given you trouble
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: in the past. They've got their core concepts, mixed personnel,
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: use big people, Lamar Jackson, So it's probably a little
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: different with with as much quarterback run. You know, they
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: have it. You know, we'll have to be ready for it.
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: I just don't know if it'll be as much as
- 1:19:37Speaker 2: what he did with Lamar Jackson, but you know, there's
- 1:19:39Speaker 2: a lot of carryover. There's also a lot of growth
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: and what he's done with mixing personnel, you know, keeping
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: your guessing, keeping you you know, moving guys around, motioning
- 1:19:51Speaker 2: to get guys at the point of attack.
- 1:19:54Speaker 19: This year about Drake as a leader, how have you
- 1:19:57Speaker 19: seen him demand more from his teammates and would this
- 1:20:01Speaker 19: be the kind of week where you'd expect him to
- 1:20:04Speaker 19: lead in that fashion.
- 1:20:05Speaker 2: I would hope that he would lead as our quarterback
- 1:20:08Speaker 2: every single week. This is a next week, It's an
- 1:20:12Speaker 2: important week. I think just the command that he has
- 1:20:16Speaker 2: in the huddle. You know, at practice, you see you know,
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: communication with guys off on the side when you know
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: maybe the defense is working. You know, I see something.
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: I see things during the game where you know he's
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: trying to get guys on the same page and you know,
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: communicate to him and and that relationship there. So I
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: think he's continuing to work at it. And again it's, uh,
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: everybody's trying to become a little better leader.
- 1:20:44Speaker 12: Obviously, you've got got a lot of successes here with
- 1:20:47Speaker 12: a lot of head coaching.
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: Movement around the league.
- 1:20:49Speaker 3: If you look back and think of through year off
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: from being a head coach as being beneficial.
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: That was probably it was the only option I had,
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: so I guess I didn't have a choice.
- 1:21:01Speaker 17: Mike, you talk offensively about X plays coming from seventy
- 1:21:04Speaker 17: percent of guys may go to play thirty percent scheme defensively.
- 1:21:08Speaker 17: Does that whole true? Because I know obviously LA has
- 1:21:11Speaker 17: been really really good at denying those X plays, and
- 1:21:12Speaker 17: it seems a lot of it is structural. But where's
- 1:21:15Speaker 17: that balance?
- 1:21:19Speaker 2: Well, I mean, I imagine that for this was league
- 1:21:21Speaker 2: wide when I just did like a quick you know,
- 1:21:24Speaker 2: when you look through each week, you know, I mean,
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: some of those numbers may be off where but you know,
- 1:21:30Speaker 2: I think sometimes schematically, I think way you tackle goes
- 1:21:36Speaker 2: into that a lot, you know, I mean, the way
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: you play the football down the field, you know, split
- 1:21:42Speaker 2: safety versus post safety. I think there's some things going through.
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: I just was saying that there. It's not always gonna
- 1:21:48Speaker 2: just be, you know, the best player making a play.
- 1:21:51Speaker 2: Sometimes it's gonna get schemed open. Sometimes we're gonna have
- 1:21:54Speaker 2: to go make a play and it's a one on
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: one matchup, and and that's kind of how those things
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: are created. Running backs, you know, be like, that's a
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: really cool run was untouched and everybody was blocked. Sometimes
- 1:22:05Speaker 2: you got to make a guy miss and break a tackle.
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: You mentioned Herbert.
- 1:22:09Speaker 2: Don't take me too literal here, I apologize. I just
- 1:22:12Speaker 2: try to say that it's a it's a combination.
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: You mentioned justin Herbert a couple of times. Just with
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: his physical skills. How how much of the challenges.
- 1:22:20Speaker 2: He break control A lot? A lot. He's got toughness, uh,
- 1:22:24Speaker 2: great arm, talent, great athletic ability. You know he's under duress,
- 1:22:30Speaker 2: I mean, and it doesn't really affect him. You don't
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: see him get frustrated. A lot of respect for him
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: as a as a as a person man obviously as
- 1:22:39Speaker 2: a player, and you know, he's lived up to everything
- 1:22:41Speaker 2: that they thought he'd be as a franchise quarterback. And
- 1:22:45Speaker 2: he's it's really just one of the best quarterbacks in
- 1:22:49Speaker 2: the league.
- 1:22:50Speaker 20: Seems like the packages where you have seem the six
- 1:22:52Speaker 20: offensive line packages has been a very big reason for
- 1:22:54Speaker 20: the wrong game success recently led to the decision to
- 1:22:57Speaker 20: maybe lean on those looks more and also why hasn't
- 1:23:00Speaker 20: been so successful for you guys.
- 1:23:02Speaker 2: I don't think any time that we blocked the you
- 1:23:04Speaker 2: know guys at the line of scrimmage and we blocked
- 1:23:06Speaker 2: the support player that we're able to run the football.
- 1:23:10Speaker 2: So that's six linemen. If we need seven, I'll probably
- 1:23:14Speaker 2: draw the line there. But you know, however, many guys
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: we need to put out there that can that can
- 1:23:19Speaker 2: move somebody off the line of scrimmage and block support.
- 1:23:22Speaker 2: That's what I'm in favor of.
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: Thanks guys, Thanks, and now great moments in history.
- 1:23:37Speaker 21: Andrew used to go to the same gym as Andy
- 1:23:39Speaker 21: Hart right on run over here, so we'd see him
- 1:23:42Speaker 21: every morning before work. So he said, one day at
- 1:23:45Speaker 21: the gym, there's this guy and there was a boxing
- 1:23:48Speaker 21: one of those big boxing bags and the guy was
- 1:23:50Speaker 21: like hitting it really hard and grutting and whatever and
- 1:23:53Speaker 21: like making a big scene. And here was like six
- 1:23:56Speaker 21: point thirty in the morning, Like what is this guy doing?
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: So he was about to go to Andy.
- 1:24:00Speaker 21: He'd be like, check out this guy. And all of
- 1:24:02Speaker 21: a sudden and as soon as the guy was done,
- 1:24:05Speaker 21: Andy went over and he started doing the same thing
- 1:24:09Speaker 21: to the bag and Andrew. Andrew was like, he was like,
- 1:24:13Speaker 21: I was literally like seconds away from being a hate
- 1:24:15Speaker 21: check out this guy.
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: So that's part of Andy's routine that he never really
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: told us about. The heavy bag. We didn't know that
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: that was something he uses the heavy.
- 1:24:22Speaker 21: Bag, and Andrew was about to make fun of the other.
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: Guys, So they must have to stand really close with
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: those short arms. Yeah, that's another great moment from all
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: right back here and Patriots Sunfiltered eight five five past
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: five hundred is the hotline podcast at Patriots dot com.
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: Is the email addresses Paul and I Evan left for Vrabel.
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: And then Duce got a text that there's a lot
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: of people in the locker room. So he had a
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: run to be part of that, right like he took off.
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: I gotta go here. It's crazy in the locker room
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: on Ion Evan, and you know, Duce has to be,
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: you know, in the mix. This is like get a
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: vibe chance. This is like, you know, for him, it's
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: like the pre party at the Academy Awards. He's got
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: to be in there, you know, hobnobbing with everybody.
- 1:25:11Speaker 3: A little you were a little dismissive friend, a little
- 1:25:13Speaker 3: bit anything from Rabel stick out to you. He has
- 1:25:17Speaker 3: a lot of respect for the Chargers and in the
- 1:25:19Speaker 3: way they play. I felt like that when I listened
- 1:25:21Speaker 3: to him on Monday.
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean other than like you said while we
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: were watching, maybe he's a little upset that no one
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: offered him a job.
- 1:25:27Speaker 3: Last Yeah, yeah, he asked me. Was asked a question
- 1:25:30Speaker 3: sort of later in the press conference, did he feel
- 1:25:33Speaker 3: like the year away was beneficial at all?
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: And he's like, well, you know, it wasn't really my choice.
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: I didn't have much of a choice or something.
- 1:25:38Speaker 3: I was always said. So I kind of got the
- 1:25:40Speaker 3: impression he's still a little angry that he didn't get
- 1:25:43Speaker 3: an offer last year.
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: I didn't think it was uh, you know.
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: No, I thought he was pretty complimentary of the Chargers.
- 1:25:51Speaker 3: I thought I think he I didn't get the impression
- 1:25:55Speaker 3: that he was necessarily saying things that you were like
- 1:26:00Speaker 3: when Belichick would talk about the Cleveland Browns and say that,
- 1:26:02Speaker 3: you know, this is an explosive team that can score
- 1:26:04Speaker 3: any from anywhere on the field, and you look and
- 1:26:06Speaker 3: they're like thirty second in scoring. You know, I didn't
- 1:26:09Speaker 3: get any of those. Yeah, the things that he talked about, I.
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: Really think, and he talks about the punter.
- 1:26:14Speaker 3: Looked, Yeah, I've looked up some of these stats that
- 1:26:16Speaker 3: Mike has talked about on Monday and today, and I
- 1:26:19Speaker 3: already was aware of what the Chargers have done well
- 1:26:22Speaker 3: this year, and those are the things that stick out,
- 1:26:24Speaker 3: I mean, top five and a lot of different things.
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: The other thing that you know, again, the differences between
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: Rabel and Bill Belichick. Of course there are many. But
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: the first question was about Thomas Brown getting an interview
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: with Arizona and if that was posed to Bill, Bill
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: would be like, we're focused on this game, and Rabel says, no,
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: We're always cooperate what we want our people to get
- 1:26:48Speaker 1: these opportunities, and we're always helpful, you know, so.
- 1:26:51Speaker 3: Like it'll be interesting to see not just head coaches,
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: but if people are looking at some members of the
- 1:26:59Speaker 3: Patriots staff in general because they've had such a great year.
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: Yep.
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: They obviously have an interesting situation on defense with Terrell
- 1:27:08Speaker 3: Williams dealing with you know, his health problems, a guy
- 1:27:14Speaker 3: like Zach Krer, it would be you know, maybe on
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: someone's radar for a defensive coordinator. You know, I don't
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: know necessarily if that would be you know, something that
- 1:27:22Speaker 3: he'd be you know, Core would be interested, they would
- 1:27:25Speaker 3: get permission, all that kind of stuff. But these are
- 1:27:27Speaker 3: the kind of things that happen to teams when when
- 1:27:29Speaker 3: they're good playoff teams and the kind of listen.
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: You know, you'd be like, why would they want to leave?
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: Blah blah blah, especially if the pages make a deep run.
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: You got to if you're a person in the NFL,
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: you got a family, whatever, you got to strike while
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: the iron's hot.
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: So you know, in that particular case that that I
- 1:27:47Speaker 3: just brought up, And if that's a complete hypothetical, I
- 1:27:49Speaker 3: have not heard any noise about that at all. But
- 1:27:53Speaker 3: if Terrell Williams comes back, you know, and let's face it,
- 1:27:56Speaker 3: we all hope he does, he's you know, stronger and
- 1:27:59Speaker 3: healthier than ever. That's what everybody's hoping for. If he
- 1:28:02Speaker 3: comes back and is the defensive coordinator next year. If
- 1:28:05Speaker 3: you're Zach Khorr and you go back, well, now I'm
- 1:28:07Speaker 3: not the coordinator anymore, and someone wants me to be
- 1:28:09Speaker 3: their coordinator, right right, Why wouldn't.
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: You conside I may not get that opportunity next year.
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: So I don't blame any of these guys, just as
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: I don't blame free agents for changing teams or coaches
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: for that matter.
- 1:28:21Speaker 3: And we've talked a lot about they have a handful
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: of former head coaches on staff. You know, Thomas Brown
- 1:28:27Speaker 3: is one of them. He was an interim coach for
- 1:28:28Speaker 3: the Bears. You know, Doug Moron. Todd Downing has been
- 1:28:32Speaker 3: an offensive coordinator elsewhere, Josh McDaniel's former head coach elsewhere.
- 1:28:37Speaker 3: I think there's going to be interest in some of
- 1:28:38Speaker 3: these guys. Yeah, these are again, these are the problems
- 1:28:41Speaker 3: that good teams face.
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: Yep, all right, eight five to five past five hundred.
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: Let's get back to the phones. Todd's and Gardner. What's up, Todd?
- 1:28:49Speaker 7: I just want to thank you guys for the journey.
- 1:28:52Speaker 7: You know, when to start in the preseason and.
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: Don't stop believing.
- 1:28:56Speaker 7: Yeah, we have we have some concerns with Hollins or
- 1:28:59Speaker 7: Williams Daber. We weren't sure what we're going to get
- 1:29:01Speaker 7: and I just want at that time was looking to say, hey,
- 1:29:04Speaker 7: I don't want to be in the basement in the AFC.
- 1:29:07Speaker 7: That was my goal for the year, and with everything
- 1:29:11Speaker 7: that's happened, I think I actually will be disappointed if
- 1:29:13Speaker 7: we don't win this game. So that's how far we progressed.
- 1:29:16Speaker 7: And you guys got us there like you guys took
- 1:29:18Speaker 7: us through this whole journey, and we went there together
- 1:29:19Speaker 7: with the ups and downs, and I really appreciate it,
- 1:29:22Speaker 7: But I wonder how far have you felt that you
- 1:29:24Speaker 7: progressed from where you started, say, preseason treating camp, and
- 1:29:28Speaker 7: where you got to now?
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: All right, guys, okay, thanks. I mean for me, it's
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: you know, it's come. I've you know, I didn't think
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: they would do this in the beginning of the season.
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: So how far have I come? I've come to now
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: thinking we're going to beat the San Diego Charges in
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: the wildcard round of the playoffs. Yeah, I mean that's
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: I would agree. Who'd have thunk?
- 1:29:51Speaker 3: And you know, I think Todd said you would have
- 1:29:54Speaker 3: been happy just not to finish last, and that's what
- 1:29:56Speaker 3: I was thinking. I figured they'd finish third. I thought
- 1:29:59Speaker 3: they would be of the jets behind my second in
- 1:30:02Speaker 3: the I'm on record saying you did. You did, and
- 1:30:04Speaker 3: you were a little bit more optimistic than I was.
- 1:30:08Speaker 3: But I mean, I felt, you know, somewhere, you know,
- 1:30:11Speaker 3: six seven, eight wins was was definitely reasonable, and I
- 1:30:16Speaker 3: felt like there were and there were a lot. It
- 1:30:18Speaker 3: wasn't just one or two people. There were there were
- 1:30:19Speaker 3: a handful of people in the local media here that
- 1:30:23Speaker 3: were predicting ten eleven, twelve, one had thirteen, and I
- 1:30:28Speaker 3: will be the first one to admit I laughed at
- 1:30:30Speaker 3: at something. You know, you know, ten. Okay, if everything
- 1:30:33Speaker 3: goes perfectly and Drake May is really good, yeah ten,
- 1:30:36Speaker 3: I thought ten was the ceiling. But yeah, thirteen I
- 1:30:39Speaker 3: thought was outrageous and they ended up winning fourteen. So
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: that's how far my mind, right.
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: I mean? Yeah? How about uh, George and Kansas? What's up? George, George, George, George,
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: George of the Jungle. Remember that cartoon George Georgie? Are
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: you there, George George? All right, George is gone? Kansas.
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: Oh there's another person from Kansas, Daniels in Kansas. What's up, Daniel, Hey, guys,
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: what's up on? What's happening?
- 1:31:14Speaker 7: Shut you guys out, Thank you very much. Just that
- 1:31:17Speaker 7: work here only Patriots fan in a like one hundred
- 1:31:21Speaker 7: mile radius here in the middle of nowhere, Kansas. Just
- 1:31:25Speaker 7: a quick one for you, guys. Do you think Hunter
- 1:31:28Speaker 7: Henry is excited for this weekend? And do you think
- 1:31:31Speaker 7: he'll have a big game considering the Charger struggled against
- 1:31:35Speaker 7: some sight ends this season?
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: All right, thanks, Daniel.
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: I do think Henry's been a pretty important guy for
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: Drake May all season long. He's been pretty consistent and
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: I expect that to continue. You know, Evan sort of
- 1:31:48Speaker 3: felt like Diggs and Henry would be the focal point
- 1:31:51Speaker 3: for Jesse Minter and the Chargers defense. But I think
- 1:31:54Speaker 3: that's what's one thing to say, we got to take
- 1:31:56Speaker 3: these guys out. I'm not sure they're going to be
- 1:31:57Speaker 3: able to do that. I would expect Henry to have of,
- 1:32:00Speaker 3: you know, an impact on the game.
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: But as Evan said, he's he thinks that the Charges
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: will have a plan for dayson Henry, right, And why
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: wouldn't they?
- 1:32:11Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:32:11Speaker 3: No, I mean, those are the two guys that you
- 1:32:13Speaker 3: would worry about at the top of the list. I
- 1:32:15Speaker 3: just feel like they're also at the top of that
- 1:32:17Speaker 3: list for a reason.
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, Ted says, and he's in Vegas. The Patriots
- 1:32:25Speaker 1: have the worst strength of schedule three ninety one, and
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: Denver has the second worst strength of schedule for twenty two.
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: But I never hear people complain about Denver's easy schedule.
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: And you don't listen high.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: I only hear people complain about the Patriots schedule. Why
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: does Denver get a pass?
- 1:32:40Speaker 3: You're not listening hard enough. There's a lot of people
- 1:32:42Speaker 3: that are questioned both of those teams there being paper
- 1:32:45Speaker 3: Tigers are fourteen wins.
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: Yeah, a matter of.
- 1:32:47Speaker 3: Fact, around here, if you listen around here, it's a
- 1:32:50Speaker 3: complete dismissal of Denver because they played so many close games.
- 1:32:53Speaker 3: I think they have eleven to one score wins or
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: something like that.
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: The dismissal I hear of Denver around here is because
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: of bo Nicks. But I think he's pretty good.
- 1:33:02Speaker 3: I just don't think he plays anywhere near the caliber
- 1:33:04Speaker 3: that makes no.
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: But like I think in crunch time, he's got some sand.
- 1:33:09Speaker 3: He's been good when he's had to be, but he's
- 1:33:11Speaker 3: not very consistent, and I think in a playoff scenario
- 1:33:14Speaker 3: you end up not being good for the balance of
- 1:33:16Speaker 3: the game and there's no game.
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: To come back for, right, But he's got some sand
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: in it.
- 1:33:20Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a lot of criticism for the for the
- 1:33:22Speaker 3: other teams. The Patriots have not just the worst schedule
- 1:33:25Speaker 3: this year, it's historically the weakest schedule since they really
- 1:33:29Speaker 3: been tracking this stuff.
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: Chris in New Hampshire has a question how many wins
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: constitutes a playoff run and does the number depend on
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: whether or not the team hosts the game. Can a
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: wildcard team win less games but still be on a run? Also,
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: to get more into the Semantico minute, what constitutes a
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: team having a little bit of a playoff run? Hopefully
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: the spark's an argument. I think one game would be
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: a playoff run. Right, you win a game and then
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: you're on a run.
- 1:33:58Speaker 3: So is he yeah, you can't make a play you
- 1:34:01Speaker 3: made a run to the playoffs?
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: Yeah, oh right, that's right.
- 1:34:04Speaker 3: And if you lose the first game, you didn't make
- 1:34:06Speaker 3: a playoff run.
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: Yeah right. I think he's talking about once you.
- 1:34:09Speaker 3: Get in there, Once you get in I think you
- 1:34:10Speaker 3: have to win a game.
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: Yeah yeah? Is that yeah?
- 1:34:13Speaker 3: Okay, So he's no argument.
- 1:34:14Speaker 1: He's wondering, That's what I'm saying. But he's wondering if
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: so for some people that doesn't constitute a run. You
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: have to win two or more?
- 1:34:23Speaker 3: No, I think you you win a game, you made
- 1:34:24Speaker 3: a run.
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: Yeah. There's only four games total to get to the
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: you know three.
- 1:34:28Speaker 3: And I think his point is is by winning a
- 1:34:32Speaker 3: wild card. In other words, if the Patriots losing the
- 1:34:34Speaker 3: division round and the Broncos losing the division round, did
- 1:34:39Speaker 3: either one of them make a playoff run, or did
- 1:34:41Speaker 3: only one of them make a playoff run because the
- 1:34:43Speaker 3: Patriots won a game and then got knocked out and
- 1:34:45Speaker 3: the Broncos had the buy and got knocked out. Yeah,
- 1:34:47Speaker 3: I mean semantics.
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: Eric from Amherstburg, Evan being so worried about losing sounds
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: like you might want a writer on call if we lose.
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: To cover Evan, I'm thirty two, and if he's being
- 1:35:00Speaker 1: worried about going one and done, it's weak mentality.
- 1:35:04Speaker 3: Wow, well, so I'm not sure I'd like to follow
- 1:35:09Speaker 3: up on that email. Is it weak because you're worried
- 1:35:12Speaker 3: about losing or week because you can't handle losing?
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: I think can't handle it?
- 1:35:17Speaker 3: Oh okay, yeah, yeah, I mean I would largely can't
- 1:35:20Speaker 3: handle it.
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: I would largely say yeah. Jay in Minnesota says Evan
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: can't keep doing this. I think on Wednesday and Thursdays,
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: we need to move up the show an hour early.
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: Too many times we have let Evan sneak out early
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: because he's in a great argument with Paula Fred. We
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: can't keep letting Evan think he's won the argument because
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: he walked out. Also deuce what vibes are we looking for?
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: In the locker room. I vote for an hour earlier
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: for the show.
- 1:35:46Speaker 3: Well, there's another show on before us on Wednesdays from
- 1:35:50Speaker 3: ten to twelve, right, it's called Catch twenty two.
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: Yeah, Evan, you know.
- 1:35:54Speaker 3: And really originally that was kind of the plan, was
- 1:35:57Speaker 3: Evan was going to do Catch twenty two and then
- 1:35:59Speaker 3: Mike Bred and I would handle Patriots on Filter. But
- 1:36:03Speaker 3: Evan can't get enough Fred, and he stays here for
- 1:36:06Speaker 3: another hour, yeah, and joins us for our show. Yep,
- 1:36:12Speaker 3: there's a lot of other things going on here, Like
- 1:36:14Speaker 3: just that's the bottom line.
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: This isn't our main job. This is my main job.
- 1:36:18Speaker 3: This is what I love to do because Fred and
- 1:36:20Speaker 3: I like we majored in arguing, in bickering. Like Jerry Madelon,
- 1:36:25Speaker 3: our famous host loves to call us the odd couple.
- 1:36:27Speaker 3: I think it's very appropriate. But everybody, we all have
- 1:36:30Speaker 3: a lot of other things.
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: To do too, Anthony writes in just a Story about
- 1:36:35Speaker 1: being bummed out. I live in New York, as you
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: may know. Well I didn't really, but so when the
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: Patriots lose I hear about it. Not only does it
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: kill my mood and depress me. Every single person knows
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: how much I love the Patriots. Afterward, they'll either give
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: me that haha, sucks for you look, or the ah,
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: sorry about your team, kind of condescending. Look. The twenty
- 1:36:57Speaker 1: eleven Super Bowl was the worst. Some of my closest
- 1:37:00Speaker 1: friends are obviously Giants and Jets fans. I watched in
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: a room full of Giants fans, about twenty people. I
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: walked out immediately after the final play. That lost did
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: something to me, and now whenever they lose, I just
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: feel terrible.
- 1:37:13Speaker 3: That's a little different, Like you watch the two thousand
- 1:37:17Speaker 3: and seven Super Bowl with a room full of Giants fans.
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: Yeah, like that.
- 1:37:20Speaker 3: Don't you think that's a little different than just like
- 1:37:23Speaker 3: my tea, my team lost, sure, and now I'm going
- 1:37:25Speaker 3: to get you know, I mean.
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like PTSD shit man. Yeah, I mean that's crazy.
- 1:37:30Speaker 3: You're with the Giants fans. They they like, that's not
- 1:37:33Speaker 3: like they're making fun of you. Like their team just
- 1:37:35Speaker 3: won a colossal upset in the super Bowl. Like, don't
- 1:37:39Speaker 3: you think they should be happy?
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, Christen Virginia. Amongst the MVP debate, here's a
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: short quiz relating to MVPs in the postseason for Paul
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: since two thousand, the Patriots have faced the MVP in
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: the postseason eight times. The record against the MVP in
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: postseason is seven one. Can you name the MVP who
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: was defeated by the Patriots in the following seasons?
- 1:38:05Speaker 2: Oh?
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: One, right, Three.
- 1:38:09Speaker 3: McNair and Manning. That's right, mvph four. I'm gonna guess
- 1:38:14Speaker 3: Manning again.
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: Six lt that's right.
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: Sixteen Matt Ryan, that's correct. Eighteen Mahomes, that's right.
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: You got it. Finally, for a bonus point, who is
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: the only MVP that the Patriots have lost to in
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: the postseason since two thousand?
- 1:38:45Speaker 3: You're not gonna give me the year for that?
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: One?
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: Huh thirteen Manning? That's right. There you go. You can't
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: stump the grump.
- 1:38:54Speaker 3: I would I needed the years, though, I don't think
- 1:38:56Speaker 3: I would have gotten all those like that. I needed
- 1:38:59Speaker 3: the years.
- 1:39:00Speaker 2: I think.
- 1:39:01Speaker 3: I think Mahomes he won the he won the MVP
- 1:39:07Speaker 3: in the Super Bowl in like twenty one. Maybe I
- 1:39:12Speaker 3: don't know one of those years that the Chiefs won
- 1:39:14Speaker 3: and that was kind of broke a streak.
- 1:39:15Speaker 1: I think it was the net was it nineteen?
- 1:39:18Speaker 3: The next year, maybe it was nineteen, I don't know.
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: Yeah, let's see Nick and Connecticut. After listening to calls
- 1:39:25Speaker 1: and emails for the past week suggesting nicknames for Drake,
- 1:39:29Speaker 1: I thank god the Patriots unfiltered listeners are not responsible
- 1:39:32Speaker 1: for creating nicknames.
- 1:39:36Speaker 3: Wow, that's a listener and listening to crime.
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: I like it. The whole thing about Nick Day. You
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: can't create it. It just has to be organic, like
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: it just happened, you know.
- 1:39:44Speaker 3: It's funny. I was listening. I was watching the John
- 1:39:47Speaker 3: Elway documentary on Netflix. Have you seen any of this?
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: Fred? I know you like that way too.
- 1:39:51Speaker 3: I watched probably like the first forty five minutes or so,
- 1:39:55Speaker 3: and then I got sidetracked. I had to shut it off.
- 1:39:58Speaker 3: But just like they called him the Duke, you know,
- 1:40:01Speaker 3: because they kind of thought he walked a little bit
- 1:40:03Speaker 3: like John Wayne. They called him the Duke of Denver, yep,
- 1:40:07Speaker 3: the riflemen.
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:40:08Speaker 3: So it's like maybe there's more nicknames out there than yeah,
- 1:40:12Speaker 3: And we kind of thought.
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: This one came in yesterday. But I saved it because
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: I do want to answer it. I don't want to
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: duck it. Robert in Portland, Maine says early in the season,
- 1:40:23Speaker 1: when Andre Stevenson had fumbles in two different games. At
- 1:40:26Speaker 1: the time, the PU Crew said that the Patriots didn't
- 1:40:28Speaker 1: have a deep enough bench to take Romandre out of
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: the rotation and that even if Ramandre never fumbles again
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: this season, the Patriots should move on from him in
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: the offseason. Romandre only had one more fumble this season
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: and has had multiple clutch plays. As we enter the playoffs,
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: where does the PU crew now stand on Remandre.
- 1:40:49Speaker 3: I think I might have said that they will move
- 1:40:51Speaker 3: on from him, not that they should. I would not,
- 1:40:55Speaker 3: but I am higher on ramondre Stevenson than most. I
- 1:40:58Speaker 3: think he does a lot of different things that helped
- 1:41:01Speaker 3: the team win. And I think I probably changed my
- 1:41:05Speaker 3: viewpoint from what I had earlier in the season based
- 1:41:07Speaker 3: on the way Mike Rabel has talked about him throughout
- 1:41:10Speaker 3: the year. I think he's a Rabel kind of guy. Yeah,
- 1:41:14Speaker 3: I wouldn't be surprised. And the reason why I thought
- 1:41:16Speaker 3: they would move on from him was had almost almost
- 1:41:19Speaker 3: nothing to do with the fumbles. It was about I
- 1:41:23Speaker 3: feel like Mike Rabel did all he could to sort
- 1:41:27Speaker 3: of move past what was already here and the ones
- 1:41:31Speaker 3: that he didn't with the guys that had contracts that
- 1:41:34Speaker 3: kind of prohibited it. It wasn't cost effective. And I'm
- 1:41:38Speaker 3: thinking of guys like Mike oh Winu, Christian Barmore, Ramandre Stevenson.
- 1:41:44Speaker 3: There were a handful of guys that just got extensions
- 1:41:47Speaker 3: from the previous regime that it wouldn't have necessarily been
- 1:41:51Speaker 3: cost effective to do so, and Stevenson was one of them.
- 1:41:56Speaker 3: But I think he could be. I think he could
- 1:41:58Speaker 3: be part of the future.
- 1:41:59Speaker 1: I have to walk it back. I mean, if I
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: remember the feeling. I don't know if I was the
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: one who said those words, but I remember the feeling
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: like you just can't tolerate that. You just can't have
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: a guy out there dropping the ball. So I remember
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: thinking that. But listen, that's why Mike Vrabel's a head
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: coach in the NFL and I'm not. He dealt with
- 1:42:22Speaker 1: the situation perfectly, and he did, and so thank god
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: I'm not the head coach and he is. But I
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: think people do forget.
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: And I agree with you that I thought Vrabel handled
- 1:42:32Speaker 3: it really, really well. His workload was drastically reduced.
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: Oh it was, and had to be.
- 1:42:39Speaker 3: He didn't get to he didn't get benched.
- 1:42:41Speaker 1: That's negligence. If you can't get out.
- 1:42:43Speaker 3: But I think people, I think people with you know,
- 1:42:48Speaker 3: the results of the last month have rewritten history a
- 1:42:53Speaker 3: little bit like, no, nothing changed, Oh no, no, something changed. Yes,
- 1:42:57Speaker 3: his workload was diminished in the immediate aftermath of those
- 1:43:01Speaker 3: those tumbles, and he gradually earned the trust. I remember
- 1:43:06Speaker 3: you had Gibson back there, yes, right, Yes, that's part
- 1:43:09Speaker 3: of where he lost some carries to and then Henderson
- 1:43:12Speaker 3: eventually emerged because Henderson got off to a slow start,
- 1:43:15Speaker 3: and then you know, about halfway through it was probably
- 1:43:18Speaker 3: that Tampa game that Henderson hit a couple of big
- 1:43:21Speaker 3: plays and was like, whoa, you know, now we got
- 1:43:23Speaker 3: this explosive guy. And eventually I think Stevenson, you know,
- 1:43:27Speaker 3: earned his way back in a circle of trust.
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: Let's just say that Gibson got hurt in training camp
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: or never made it the season, or he got hurt
- 1:43:33Speaker 1: in the first game or whatever, and you only had
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: Henderson and Stevenson. I don't know if then in the
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: trade deadline, if Rabel would have gone and gotten a
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: running back.
- 1:43:43Speaker 3: So at the trade deadline Gibson had been hurt, they
- 1:43:46Speaker 3: could have made a move.
- 1:43:46Speaker 1: Then that's true, that's true.
- 1:43:48Speaker 3: But I'm just saying I want to say the last
- 1:43:51Speaker 3: fumble that that Rimandre had was the Buffalo, the first
- 1:43:55Speaker 3: Buffalo game, which is like week five, Week five, So
- 1:43:57Speaker 3: there were a couple of weeks there that that he
- 1:44:00Speaker 3: didn't get as many carries as he had.
- 1:44:02Speaker 1: That's true, he didn't.
- 1:44:03Speaker 3: He is and then eventually, you know, like he was
- 1:44:05Speaker 3: out there like late game pass protection situations. You know
- 1:44:10Speaker 3: that that's when he got his snaps. He didn't get
- 1:44:12Speaker 3: as many touches there for a couple of weeks.
- 1:44:14Speaker 1: It's true, Rick in Riverside, Rhode Island, it's a lot
- 1:44:18Speaker 1: of ours. Like most Patriots fans, I believe we are
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: currently playing with house money. But I think the Patriots
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: can win it all this year. One, the run game
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: has found its groove hitting the playoffs. Two overall team
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: health is improving. Three the players seem bought into Rabel's
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: message four Drake Drake may may win loser draw. This
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: has been successful. Let's hope for four more wins.
- 1:44:41Speaker 3: Okay, I would largely agree with everything about that email. Yeah,
- 1:44:46Speaker 3: it's a rarity for.
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: Me, Joe. If the haters are right and you weren't
- 1:44:52Speaker 1: really that good, then be happy you got a fun season,
- 1:44:54Speaker 1: and you probably shouldn't have full's gold is the only
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: is only a bad thing if you don't believe that
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: you have gold. I largely agree with that too. That's
- 1:45:03Speaker 1: a good way of looking at it too. If you
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: really don't think you're that good, then it's all gravy.
- 1:45:08Speaker 3: But you also, I would look at it as, you know,
- 1:45:11Speaker 3: again from completely from the team perspective, maybe I'm not
- 1:45:15Speaker 3: that good this year, but I'm only going to get better.
- 1:45:18Speaker 3: That's the way you look at it as a fan.
- 1:45:20Speaker 3: Imagine what we're going to do next year. Now, I
- 1:45:22Speaker 3: would be disappointed because I think this is an opportunity
- 1:45:25Speaker 3: because I don't look at the teams in the AFC
- 1:45:27Speaker 3: as being better than the Patriots next year. The Patriots
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: could very well be better than they are now, but
- 1:45:33Speaker 3: they might be two teams that are have reloaded and
- 1:45:36Speaker 3: better than you. Yeah, and it'll be that much harder
- 1:45:38Speaker 3: to make a run, you know what I mean. But
- 1:45:41Speaker 3: I would look at it as, yeah, maybe maybe we're
- 1:45:44Speaker 3: not quite as good as our record this year, but
- 1:45:48Speaker 3: Drake may is going to be better. You might get
- 1:45:50Speaker 3: another weapon to work with on the outside. Maybe Kyle
- 1:45:53Speaker 3: Williams becomes a really dangerous guy next year for him
- 1:45:56Speaker 3: after you know, a slow rookie year, I think you
- 1:45:59Speaker 3: only caught ten pass all season. Maybe next year he's
- 1:46:02Speaker 3: a guy who catches seventy passes for you when you
- 1:46:04Speaker 3: have become a dangerous offense all over again. So this
- 1:46:08Speaker 3: I think there's a lot to be excited about in
- 1:46:10Speaker 3: the future, not just now.
- 1:46:12Speaker 1: Max in Atlanta. My post vote MVP take Drake May
- 1:46:19Speaker 1: is the MVP, and unless voters accidentally watch the games,
- 1:46:21Speaker 1: he probably won't win it. At this point, MVP voting
- 1:46:25Speaker 1: feels like sort by touchdowns than closed spreadsheet. For example,
- 1:46:30Speaker 1: the other two most efficient seasons in my opinion are
- 1:46:33Speaker 1: Breeze in eighteen and Golf in twenty four and eighteen.
- 1:46:37Speaker 1: Breeze at seventy four percent, four thousand yards thirty six
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: touchdowns lost to Mahomes who had five thousand yards and
- 1:46:44Speaker 1: fifty touchdowns twenty four.
- 1:46:47Speaker 3: Yeah, which one of those two you think is better?
- 1:46:51Speaker 1: I think Mahomes probably a loss.
- 1:46:52Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, go ahead.
- 1:46:53Speaker 1: Twenty four Goff at seventy two percent, forty seven hundred
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: yards about and thirty seven tds lost to Josh Allen,
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: who had four point two thousand yards in forty seven tds. Again,
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: I don't know last year.
- 1:47:10Speaker 3: Last year, well, Josh Jared Goff wasn't really even in consideration.
- 1:47:14Speaker 3: It was Lamar Jackson last year who had vastly better numbers.
- 1:47:17Speaker 3: So if they were just painting by touchdown numbers, Lamar
- 1:47:19Speaker 3: Jackson would have won.
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: On last year. May has been more efficient, more consistent
- 1:47:23Speaker 1: ADS rushing, which should matter, but history says it probably didn't.
- 1:47:28Speaker 1: Feels like another year where voters rewarded stat Padford and
- 1:47:33Speaker 1: called it a day.
- 1:47:34Speaker 3: See that's oh, that's got good.
- 1:47:36Speaker 4: I like that.
- 1:47:37Speaker 3: Evan just said that stat Padford.
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: Yes, oh I didn't. I didn't hear him.
- 1:47:41Speaker 3: Oh that was in the whole one yard touchdown past
- 1:47:43Speaker 3: ran So like those don't count, you know, like the
- 1:47:46Speaker 3: touchdown on fourth and goal in Tampa Bay, the digs,
- 1:47:48Speaker 3: that doesn't count. It was a one yard touchdown. See
- 1:47:51Speaker 3: here's the thing, though, you don't count. Isn't this You
- 1:47:53Speaker 3: can't say that.
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: The one yard touchdowns don't count and then say, oh,
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: the Patriots have trouble in the red zone. Well that's
- 1:48:00Speaker 1: where you have one touchdown passes in the red zone.
- 1:48:03Speaker 3: That's a great point. That's a great point, you.
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: Know, like, yeah, so listen, I think Drake May should
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: be MVP. Two.
- 1:48:12Speaker 3: I think you should be MVP. He would get my vote.
- 1:48:15Speaker 3: I don't have one. Unfortunately, I just don't look at
- 1:48:19Speaker 3: this as not being close the way so many Patriots
- 1:48:25Speaker 3: fans have tried to.
- 1:48:27Speaker 1: Ben in Manhattan, says Paul. Dismissed the notion that the
- 1:48:31Speaker 1: difference in quarterbacking between May and Stafford is significant enough
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: to impact the team's record this year. I would argue
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: the Patriots have won against the Raiders Week one or
- 1:48:40Speaker 1: the Steels Week three with Stafford, but I can't imagine
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: Stafford would have been able to pull off the game
- 1:48:46Speaker 1: against the Bills in Week five. May didn't account for
- 1:48:49Speaker 1: a touchdown in the stat sheet, but this was undoubtedly
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: a game that was razor thin and required pure athleticism
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: to evade constant pressure for both underneath completions and deep balls. Great,
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: this game wasn't won by McDaniels, but by the freakish
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: athleticism and aggressiveness of May in the second half. So
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you this is so funny.
- 1:49:09Speaker 3: It's almost like this that email was listening to Mike
- 1:49:13Speaker 3: Dusseau and I, oh, yeah, you know, about nine o'clock
- 1:49:17Speaker 3: this morning, I was talking about the different thing. I
- 1:49:19Speaker 3: was like, you know how like these random things pop
- 1:49:22Speaker 3: back in the minad. I go, you know, like that
- 1:49:23Speaker 3: guy yesterday that was claiming that I was saying that
- 1:49:26Speaker 3: Drake May didn't win any games, couldn't have been further
- 1:49:29Speaker 3: from the truth. Oh it was the way he said
- 1:49:31Speaker 3: that was what kind of rankled me. Not that he
- 1:49:33Speaker 3: disagreed that they would have had the same record or not,
- 1:49:37Speaker 3: but I think you could make a strong argument that
- 1:49:39Speaker 3: if they had Stafford they might have gone sixteen and one.
- 1:49:42Speaker 3: Because I don't I agree with the email, and I
- 1:49:44Speaker 3: don't see them losing to the Raiders or the Steelers. Now,
- 1:49:47Speaker 3: I just say fourteen and three because Stafford lost to
- 1:49:50Speaker 3: some bad teams. Stafford lost to Carolina, Stafford lost to Atlanta.
- 1:49:54Speaker 3: Like they lost to some bad teams. It happens like
- 1:49:56Speaker 3: you can have a you know, a subpar game that
- 1:50:00Speaker 3: was actually I said, this is all sort of flawed
- 1:50:05Speaker 3: because you don't the game isn't the same. But the
- 1:50:09Speaker 3: Buffalo game, which is exactly the game I brought up
- 1:50:11Speaker 3: to Douce I said, Stafford doesn't win doing that right,
- 1:50:15Speaker 3: doing what Drake May had to do in the second
- 1:50:17Speaker 3: half in Buffalo with some of those plays. Stafford's not
- 1:50:20Speaker 3: capable of making those plays anymore. Now, maybe he wouldn't
- 1:50:23Speaker 3: have had to. Who knows, But I would say, just
- 1:50:29Speaker 3: on the surface, if you had a really good quarterback,
- 1:50:34Speaker 3: you were going to win fourteen games with that schedule.
- 1:50:37Speaker 3: I think Mahomes would have won fourteen games with that schedule.
- 1:50:39Speaker 3: I think Josh Allen would have won fourteen games, you know,
- 1:50:43Speaker 3: if he was playing for the Patriots this year. I
- 1:50:47Speaker 3: don't think that's disrespectful. But if you want to tell
- 1:50:50Speaker 3: me Jacoby Brissett would have won fourteen games, no chance
- 1:50:54Speaker 3: they would not have been over five hundred with Zakoby
- 1:50:56Speaker 3: Brissett playing quarterback. Again, I think you don't just like
- 1:51:00Speaker 3: plug in any stiff. I'm asking the guy who's going
- 1:51:04Speaker 3: to finish second in the MVP voting to Drake May,
- 1:51:06Speaker 3: what would he have done with the Patriots?
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: The only the only thing I would say is with
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: the talent around him, would a quarterback who doesn't have
- 1:51:18Speaker 1: the mobility of May been able to do what to
- 1:51:22Speaker 1: win those games? I think he would have because so
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: often even in games that against these lesser teams. May
- 1:51:28Speaker 1: had to run around No, I know, but did he
- 1:51:30Speaker 1: have to or did he I think he had to?
- 1:51:33Speaker 3: I don't, Okay, I think that that's the way he
- 1:51:36Speaker 3: likes to play. I think that some of the sacks
- 1:51:39Speaker 3: that he took, I don't think. I don't think Stafford
- 1:51:41Speaker 3: would have been sacked nearly as many times as May,
- 1:51:43Speaker 3: all right, because he wouldn't have He wouldn't be holding
- 1:51:46Speaker 3: the ball looking to extend plays like that. Now, he
- 1:51:48Speaker 3: probably would have sacrificed some big plays that May made,
- 1:51:52Speaker 3: but he may have gotten.
- 1:51:55Speaker 4: From the locker room.
- 1:51:56Speaker 20: What was the mood where the player's friendly to that
- 1:51:59Speaker 20: none will look.
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: Like Devin Henry And like, what was it like in
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: the lock.
- 1:52:09Speaker 2: Well?
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: It was busy to live up to your expectations. No,
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: it was, it was it was tough.
- 1:52:14Speaker 6: We went right into Stefan Diggs biggest scrumb I scene,
- 1:52:17Speaker 6: and then it was literally like we got out of
- 1:52:19Speaker 6: digs and then Campbell was already like completely insulated by
- 1:52:22Speaker 6: like five layers of cameras, so I couldn't even get
- 1:52:25Speaker 6: in on him.
- 1:52:26Speaker 11: Uh.
- 1:52:26Speaker 6: You know, we also heard from Robert Splaine talk to him,
- 1:52:29Speaker 6: and we talked to Christian Zalez so start with Spulaine
- 1:52:33Speaker 6: targeting this week to come back and feels good and uh,
- 1:52:36Speaker 6: you know, seemed really excited, ready to lead this.
- 1:52:39Speaker 1: He's ready to look he's back.
- 1:52:40Speaker 6: And ready to lead them because I forgot he said
- 1:52:43Speaker 6: he had two playoff games before. I'm guessing one was
- 1:52:45Speaker 6: with Pittsburgh. But he just said a lot of talking
- 1:52:48Speaker 6: lock room two just about the young guys and there's
- 1:52:51Speaker 6: a lot of guys this would be their first chance
- 1:52:53Speaker 6: to play, and you know, he just said, let's go
- 1:52:55Speaker 6: out there and let it rip. So they all seem excited. Diggs,
- 1:52:58Speaker 6: you know, continues to just calm, cool presence and saying
- 1:53:02Speaker 6: little talking a little about we all we got, we
- 1:53:03Speaker 6: all we need, and that's kind of become the mantra
- 1:53:05Speaker 6: now for the playoffs. So it's it was a lot
- 1:53:08Speaker 6: of energy in the locker room and just from the players,
- 1:53:11Speaker 6: it seems like they're, uh, they're just really excited to
- 1:53:13Speaker 6: host a game at home and to get the crowd going.
- 1:53:15Speaker 6: They were all talking about how excited they were to
- 1:53:17Speaker 6: have the fans, a lot of national people, a lot
- 1:53:20Speaker 6: of really I didn't recognize it. Nobody, nobody, I noted, nobody,
- 1:53:24Speaker 6: like a little soupal or anything like that. Nobody that
- 1:53:26Speaker 6: I recognized, but the NBC people yet, No, not that
- 1:53:29Speaker 6: I've seen. But there were just you know a lot
- 1:53:30Speaker 6: of new faces. Uh, and the other Terrell Williams, the
- 1:53:33Speaker 6: defensive coordinator, walked through as well through and he's.
- 1:53:36Speaker 2: Look at it.
- 1:53:37Speaker 1: Look fine.
- 1:53:38Speaker 6: I mean, you know, he wasn't moving too fast, like
- 1:53:40Speaker 6: he doesn't really. He kind of kind of ambles, but
- 1:53:43Speaker 6: good to see him there. He kind of took note
- 1:53:45Speaker 6: of Will Campbell being surrounded by all the cameras.
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: I remember there was a day when your rookie lineman
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: wouldn't talk to the media. All the talking was done
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: by you know.
- 1:53:55Speaker 3: Rookies in general. Yeah, no, check didn't a lot of
- 1:53:58Speaker 3: a lot of rookies know.
- 1:53:59Speaker 6: And then we'll he's been pretty much every week.
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: He's a spokesman. Yeah. He does really good good at
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: it too.
- 1:54:04Speaker 6: I mean he's just he's got a short can be
- 1:54:07Speaker 6: my favorite player.
- 1:54:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:54:08Speaker 6: He doesn't get himself in trouble trying to overtalk or
- 1:54:10Speaker 6: over explain things. He just you know a little smile,
- 1:54:13Speaker 6: a little southern drawl and says what he says.
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: But but now I want a shopping spree. With him
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: at basketball, you'd be excited, a good way to go
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: about business.
- 1:54:22Speaker 6: Yeah yeah, so so good vibes and uh yeah, just
- 1:54:25Speaker 6: a little bit of it. You can just feel the
- 1:54:27Speaker 6: energy kind of up, a little bit of uptick in
- 1:54:31Speaker 6: terms of the vibes.
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: And now would you say the energy is that the
- 1:54:34Speaker 1: energy from the media or the players. Well, that's a
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: good question.
- 1:54:37Speaker 6: Fred I would say probably generated more from the media
- 1:54:39Speaker 6: right now, where it feels like the players are kind
- 1:54:41Speaker 6: of like.
- 1:54:42Speaker 22: Yeah, well, Dig's well Dig specifically, you know, Dick specifically said,
- 1:54:47Speaker 22: you know, he's when you guys talk to me on Wednesday,
- 1:54:49Speaker 22: this is I kind of try to keep it calm
- 1:54:51Speaker 22: during these days and you know then game day I
- 1:54:53Speaker 22: let it rip and let it all out, so, you know,
- 1:54:55Speaker 22: a little reserve, but you could just tell they're holding
- 1:54:59Speaker 22: it back a little bit and there's just you know,
- 1:55:01Speaker 22: there's there's an urgency now that I would say kind
- 1:55:03Speaker 22: of hovers over everything, Okay, Evan Evan, I mean in
- 1:55:07Speaker 22: the scrums, I mean I I it was hard to
- 1:55:09Speaker 22: because there's so much Trald No.
- 1:55:13Speaker 1: I think he held his own.
- 1:55:14Speaker 6: Bart was there to protect him as well, So the
- 1:55:16Speaker 6: two of them banded together.
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: But anybody, did you have to fight anybody?
- 1:55:23Speaker 6: No, no, Lazar fights, but everybody. Everybody's there, all hands
- 1:55:29Speaker 6: on deck today.
- 1:55:29Speaker 1: So I wonder how many of the people that are
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: bothering Evan on the various social platforms are actually people
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: in the media going under home, And I hope that
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: would be great.
- 1:55:41Speaker 6: Like Barth has a burner that he just trolls Evan
- 1:55:43Speaker 6: constantly with, right, that would make sense to me.
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: Yeah, uh so, so good stuff, Yeah, good stuff for sure.
- 1:55:49Speaker 6: You know, I cut out just ten minutes early so
- 1:55:51Speaker 6: I could come back in and share. So I'm sure
- 1:55:52Speaker 6: there'll probably be another scrum or two in there.
- 1:55:54Speaker 1: But yeah, ready to go. Robert splane Landry around you
- 1:55:58Speaker 1: see him?
- 1:55:58Speaker 6: Not see Landry Tonga, did not see Tonga? Okay, But like,
- 1:56:04Speaker 6: like I know, Mike, name some of the guys that
- 1:56:06Speaker 6: sorry brabes that are sick.
- 1:56:08Speaker 1: Uh so, maybe they were with them a lot of
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: part of the media. You have to call them rabes. Okay,
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: thank you. But again, I'm kind of buried in the scrum.
- 1:56:16Speaker 6: So guys are walking through all the time, so it's
- 1:56:18Speaker 6: very possible they walked through and I didn't see them.
- 1:56:20Speaker 6: But I did not see them.
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: Okay, a lot of cameras, a lot of cameras. I mean,
- 1:56:25Speaker 1: it's a fight, playoff time, Freddy.
- 1:56:26Speaker 6: I thought that because like my arm got kind of
- 1:56:28Speaker 6: like sandwich between a girl and a camera, and I
- 1:56:31Speaker 6: was like, I'm gonna precarious get hot here right now.
- 1:56:34Speaker 6: I was very worried about where my hr I was.
- 1:56:37Speaker 6: I was very concerned about that, and then I saw
- 1:56:39Speaker 6: my opportunity. I had to remove my arm from that
- 1:56:42Speaker 6: position because it was I think it's funny if like
- 1:56:45Speaker 6: a media person went down and like you know, Vrabel
- 1:56:48Speaker 6: came out and put hands on them.
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: Rise my son, go forth. By the way, I meant
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: to tell you, I was on one O nine and
- 1:56:57Speaker 1: at your memorial somebody put a wreath made up toilet.
- 1:57:01Speaker 1: I thought that was.
- 1:57:02Speaker 3: Really for the holidays when you're doing this just driving
- 1:57:05Speaker 3: by there it is. It was off of that.
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: But yeah, all right, that's gonna be it for this
- 1:57:12Speaker 1: edition of Patriots Unfiltered. We'll be back tomorrow, Big Day
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: with Picks with Picks playoffs. Won the regular season and
- 1:57:22Speaker 1: we'll move into the playoffs, so we'll just let it go.
- 1:57:25Speaker 1: We don't need to announce it. It'll be all right,
- 1:57:27Speaker 1: We'll see you then.
- 1:57:32Speaker 10: Hey, this is Alex. Thanks for tuning into the show.

- 1:57:44Speaker 10: everything else we do here at the Patriots.
- 1:57:46Speaker 1: It's a lot
