- 1:06Speaker 1: I'm your host Siaminson, sitting across from me as a
- 1:08Speaker 1: guy who criticizes my intro every week with his little smirk.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen. The co host, Chad Daniels, Hello, everybody,
- 1:18Speaker 1: listen to me. I'm not in the mood.
- 1:20Speaker 2: I know you're not.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Oh, I know I'm not in the mood.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Nobody is.
- 1:25Speaker 1: As a Viking fan, I'm not in the mood. And
- 1:27Speaker 1: it's not just that we lost to the Bears last
- 1:30Speaker 1: week the way we did. It's that that happened, and
- 1:35Speaker 1: now it's Packer week, and I know you have a
- 1:40Speaker 1: lot of relationships with Packer fans. I don't know what's happening,
- 1:45Speaker 1: but the amount of trash talk early and often from
- 1:50Speaker 1: Packer fans is hitting me at a aggressive level.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Sure, I'm just gonna throw this out there. I believe
- 1:59Speaker 2: that the Packers and the Eagles should get all their
- 2:01Speaker 2: primetime games taken for the next seven years, because that
- 2:04Speaker 2: was the worst game of football I've ever seen.
- 2:07Speaker 1: By the way, you know, how everyone's like right now
- 2:09Speaker 1: when the team's not doing as well as say they
- 2:11Speaker 1: were last year. It's interesting what happens to the fan base,
- 2:15Speaker 1: right Some people get really negative and really really critical.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Some people get really really defensive and really really homery.
- 2:23Speaker 1: You know. It's kind of like, Oh, I don't know
- 2:25Speaker 1: the American political system, and there's no gray area whatsoever.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Rights there is, we exist in it, but the gray
- 2:35Speaker 1: area doesn't get discussed. And the only thing I will
- 2:37Speaker 1: say about some of the I've heard some people who
- 2:41Speaker 1: are very positive and homery who are really upset. And
- 2:45Speaker 1: I had one friend go like, I'm embarrassed. He was like,
- 2:48Speaker 1: I'm embarrassed by how dramatically we're reacting to some struggle.
- 2:51Speaker 1: And I go, let me, let me tell you a
- 2:53Speaker 1: little bit about reacting to struggle in a fan base.
- 2:57Speaker 1: A friend of the program, Blake Wexler, like Flong Eagles
- 3:01Speaker 1: die Hard, sent me this. There is an Instagram account
- 3:07Speaker 1: right now whose sole purpose is comparing a coach, an
- 3:14Speaker 1: assistant coach on the Eagles to Saddam Hussein. That's what's
- 3:20Speaker 1: happening interesting over in Eagle Land where they're a super
- 3:23Speaker 1: Bowl favorite. So I actually think we're doing okay.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I wonder if the person that started that account
- 3:29Speaker 2: is the same guy that ate the cop horse crap
- 3:31Speaker 2: after they won the Super Bowl.
- 3:33Speaker 1: That's the only way I could have done that to
- 3:34Speaker 1: his brain to make him do that.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Somebody's got worms.
- 3:38Speaker 1: But here's the thing, man, Like, I am a little
- 3:41Speaker 1: riled up because I've been getting just and I'm not
- 3:46Speaker 1: in the mood to engage back. This isn't a fun year.
- 3:49Speaker 1: This like or moment for Packer Week for me, so
- 3:54Speaker 1: like I want to win. I still dislike them, and
- 3:56Speaker 1: I shouldn't say it's not fun. It's like I don't
- 3:58Speaker 1: really have the ammo to go back, right, you know,
- 4:01Speaker 1: you can't quite go back as hard. So what I've
- 4:03Speaker 1: been doing, and I want you to tell me what
- 4:05Speaker 1: you think about this, I'm not engaging at all. I'm
- 4:09Speaker 1: only I'm not trash talking bast silent treatment, yeah, silent treatment, no,
- 4:13Speaker 1: not quite all they trash talk me. If any of
- 4:17Speaker 1: the Packer fans trash talk me, I just send them
- 4:19Speaker 1: back a fact about their state that I think is absurd,
- 4:24Speaker 1: and then I no matter what they say after that,
- 4:27Speaker 1: then they get silent treatment. So, for example, somebody said
- 4:32Speaker 1: some really negative things to me, some heavy duty trash talk,
- 4:35Speaker 1: and all I wrote back was Wisconsin once had two
- 4:39Speaker 1: local towns argue over who would get a thirty foot
- 4:42Speaker 1: tall fiberglass badger statue, so enjoy the game. A Milwaukee
- 4:49Speaker 1: resident legally changed his name to Count Justinian de mort
- 4:55Speaker 1: Or a Cape daily slept in a coffin shaped bed,
- 4:58Speaker 1: and petition the May to declare his birthday vampire appreciation day,
- 5:04Speaker 1: and I'd still rather hang with him than talk football
- 5:08Speaker 1: with you. That's the sort of stuff that I'm sending back.
- 5:11Speaker 2: That's smart.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Wisconsin currently has seventeen hundred and sixty bridges that need
- 5:16Speaker 1: to be repaired, and I assume that's because your fans
- 5:20Speaker 1: keep walking on them. That is the sort of stuff
- 5:25Speaker 1: it's It could be a heavy foot joke. I'm not
- 5:27Speaker 1: gonna let you paint it the way you wanted to
- 5:29Speaker 1: paint it. That's an interpret it however you want it.
- 5:32Speaker 1: But that is how I am just I'm just taking
- 5:35Speaker 1: shots at Wisconsin culture in response to the football trash
- 5:39Speaker 1: talk I'm receiving.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Well, that's a smart way to do it. I mean,
- 5:43Speaker 2: there are a lot of those. I've been to Wisconsin
- 5:45Speaker 2: several times, so have you to perform live stand up comedy, and.
- 5:49Speaker 1: You know it is that's actually the origin of our friendship,
- 5:52Speaker 1: don't right. No, I don't know how many people know that.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Our friendship not the birth birth, but I think the
- 5:58Speaker 1: growth of our pl when it flourished. You want to
- 6:01Speaker 1: tell it, you want to tell the people.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Well, we were in Appleton, Wisconsin, which is just south
- 6:06Speaker 2: of Green Bay, and we were working at the Skyline
- 6:09Speaker 2: Comedy Cafe and what year do we.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Think this is? Back in twenty two thousand and seven
- 6:17Speaker 1: it was the far of year. What year was far
- 6:19Speaker 1: twenty nine, two thousand and nine.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Okay, so we're there and we're doing We used to
- 6:24Speaker 2: do this decathlon thing where we would do ten events
- 6:29Speaker 2: that were somewhat athletic. Right, it was like wiffleball, home run,
- 6:33Speaker 2: derby contest. Yeah, just stuff like that that wasn't the
- 6:37Speaker 2: actual game game, but it was derivative of it. So
- 6:41Speaker 2: we would do that and then on the and then
- 6:43Speaker 2: we were playing cribbage at the club for I think
- 6:47Speaker 2: it was the tenth event.
- 6:49Speaker 1: And then it's funny how the athleticism started with the
- 6:54Speaker 1: athletes or with athletics and whittled down to let's play
- 6:58Speaker 1: cards and move toothpick.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Well towards towards the end of the week. You don't
- 7:02Speaker 2: have access, right, you can't like quick run to the
- 7:05Speaker 2: ry Ymca in between sets. But what you can do
- 7:11Speaker 2: is right before a set is you can put on
- 7:13Speaker 2: a Vikings Brett Favre jersey like you did. And then
- 7:18Speaker 2: I heard you get I heard you get introduced, and
- 7:21Speaker 2: then I heard just thick booing without you having said anything.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Now, it's it was right before. It was right before
- 7:29Speaker 1: the first game that Brett Farve played the Packers as
- 7:32Speaker 1: a Viking. It was the it was the Saturday night
- 7:35Speaker 1: before that was going to happen, I think on a Monday.
- 7:39Speaker 2: Yeah and uh. And the people were I'm gonna go
- 7:41Speaker 2: with less than pleased yeah.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Uh.
- 7:45Speaker 2: And so that's when I thought to myself, like, yeah,
- 7:49Speaker 2: I think that he and I have a pretty similar brain.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I the way I know we have similar brain is
- 7:55Speaker 1: because you might not remember this. So I went up
- 7:57Speaker 1: on stage. Cliff, who ran the club, pulled the lights
- 8:01Speaker 1: up because and I quote, he was pretty sure somebody
- 8:04Speaker 1: was going to throw a glass at me because I
- 8:07Speaker 1: was doing the Hulk Hogan like bump up up like
- 8:10Speaker 1: hand to the ear motion, over and over. And then
- 8:14Speaker 1: you ran to the booth and as I was going up,
- 8:18Speaker 1: played the Monday night football theme music. That's the one
- 8:21Speaker 1: thing that I remember. And here we are years later
- 8:27Speaker 1: with the team letting us be involved, which.
- 8:30Speaker 2: That's right, and our friendship barely hanging on.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Jay the producer just said that people throw pool balls
- 8:37Speaker 1: on the field at players during that game. During the
- 8:41Speaker 1: Lambeau game, when Farv went back there for the first
- 8:43Speaker 1: time and had signs comparing Farv to Fredo from The Godfather.
- 8:49Speaker 1: So I didn't get the pool balls.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I knew it was you, but.
- 8:52Speaker 1: You could you know, you could feel that that would
- 8:55Speaker 1: probably be the reaction in that room night, because I
- 8:57Speaker 1: believe Appleton is where the opposing team stay. So Appleton
- 9:01Speaker 1: they're not just pack Vans. I think they feel like
- 9:03Speaker 1: they're really a part of it.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Yeah, because I went to a Vike's Packer game Lambeau
- 9:11Speaker 2: and Brett Farv was still the quarterback Dante Culpeppers for US.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Dante Culpepper was getting murdered. I'm saying straight up murdered,
- 9:21Speaker 2: and Brett Favre would get touched on the shoulder. It
- 9:25Speaker 2: would be like you wouldn't even know if he was
- 9:27Speaker 2: down playing touch football and they'd throw a flag. So
- 9:31Speaker 2: I start freaking out. I'm screaming down the field and
- 9:35Speaker 2: here's the section around me, right, just a couple rows
- 9:39Speaker 2: started chanting all before I know it, within the minute,
- 9:45Speaker 2: the entire stadium. Here's the crazy thing about this stadium
- 9:49Speaker 2: is they don't have to know, they don't have to
- 9:52Speaker 2: have witnessed what happened. They just know if somebody sends
- 9:56Speaker 2: out the bat signal, we have to join in. And
- 10:00Speaker 2: so this entire stadium was chanting that. And then we
- 10:05Speaker 2: were at the bar afterwards back in Appleton, because we
- 10:08Speaker 2: were staying at the same hotel that the Vikes were
- 10:10Speaker 2: staying at, and we're at the bar right next door,
- 10:13Speaker 2: and then this Packer fan comes in. He goes, oh, man,
- 10:17Speaker 2: somebody from Minnesota really got it tonight because everybody was chanting.
- 10:22Speaker 2: And my buddy goes, he's right here, this guy. And
- 10:24Speaker 2: I really didn't even do anything to deserve it other
- 10:27Speaker 2: than yelling. Because remember when Farv and even even Rogers
- 10:31Speaker 2: that whole thing. The Packers got a lot of calls.
- 10:34Speaker 2: They were the chiefs. They were the chiefs of the
- 10:36Speaker 2: early two thousands, so it was tough.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Can I ask you a question about Lambeau, please, because
- 10:44Speaker 1: begrudgingly I think we can both admit such a cool place.
- 10:48Speaker 2: It's great.
- 10:49Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe this is a dumb comparison, but it's the
- 10:51Speaker 1: closest you get to the English soccer vibe, where a
- 10:54Speaker 1: tiny town of a few tens of thousands has a
- 10:58Speaker 1: giant stadium in a team. That's what it feels like
- 11:02Speaker 1: it's so incredible. But the question I always have, and
- 11:05Speaker 1: I always ask when I meet somebody from Green Bay
- 11:07Speaker 1: or who lives there, like in today's modern age, with
- 11:11Speaker 1: how big it's all become, how do you experience that?
- 11:13Speaker 1: Because you and I Alexandria Fergus Falls, my dad's from
- 11:18Speaker 1: Detroit Lakes, were right near Detroit Lakes, and we know
- 11:21Speaker 1: what it's like when we Fest comes to Detroit Lakes, right,
- 11:24Speaker 1: And I know a guy who told me once he's like,
- 11:26Speaker 1: I would rather eat my own foot than be in
- 11:30Speaker 1: Detroit Lakes during we Fest. And I wonder, I mean,
- 11:34Speaker 1: you either have to lean one way or another. If
- 11:36Speaker 1: the Vikings move to Fergus Falls, Yeah, and you still
- 11:41Speaker 1: live there, are you loving every minute of that? Or
- 11:43Speaker 1: do you want to get out of Fergus Falls and
- 11:45Speaker 1: travel to where the Vikings play? Would you love a
- 11:47Speaker 1: pro team in your tiny small town? No?
- 11:50Speaker 2: No, no, because too many people come, so you know,
- 11:52Speaker 2: even in the summertime, have a little cabin up there.
- 11:56Speaker 2: There's a town called Battle Lake that has I think
- 11:59Speaker 2: I think eight thousand people in it. No, that's way
- 12:03Speaker 2: too big. Maybe, I mean we might be talking about
- 12:05Speaker 2: even hundreds of people in it. And then in the
- 12:07Speaker 2: summertime it's thirty thousand people. Yes, and so that's too
- 12:13Speaker 2: much because you never know. You don't get to vet
- 12:15Speaker 2: who's coming. No one has to fill out an application
- 12:19Speaker 2: to get into the town, and I'm not into it.
- 12:22Speaker 1: It would be you know, of the imagination scenarios of
- 12:28Speaker 1: ways you could get rich. I do think one of
- 12:30Speaker 1: the cool ways would be like, yeah, we just owned
- 12:32Speaker 1: a couple of houses in Green Bay, kind of near
- 12:34Speaker 1: the stadium, and then twenty years later we're like, well,
- 12:38Speaker 1: let's go buy a palace and retire somewhere. Yeah, that's
- 12:41Speaker 1: all time real estate because those houses and they're like
- 12:45Speaker 1: that is one of the cooler parts of the vibe
- 12:48Speaker 1: is just walking past that row of houses that are
- 12:50Speaker 1: all partying and tailgating. That feels so authentic and uniqueere
- 12:54Speaker 1: You're like, that's a neighborhood, that's a stadium, and Chad
- 12:58Speaker 1: could probably hit both of them with a baseball.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Yeah, it's pretty interesting. And speaking of owning things, and
- 13:06Speaker 2: the Packers, boy do their fans love to tell you
- 13:09Speaker 2: that they own the team. But when you say, hey,
- 13:12Speaker 2: call down to the field and let's run this one,
- 13:14Speaker 2: they don't have any access to that. So you don't
- 13:16Speaker 2: own anything. Let's just stop it. They gave you a
- 13:19Speaker 2: certificate so you could feel important.
- 13:21Speaker 1: I couldn't agree more. I think that's a great place
- 13:23Speaker 1: to take to break because I want you to have
- 13:25Speaker 1: that last negative word. We're gonna come back. We're going
- 13:28Speaker 1: to talk about other stuff. But I couldn't agree more
- 13:30Speaker 1: with that assessment. Actually I lied. I'll tack on top
- 13:33Speaker 1: of it. I do think they're a lot like trust
- 13:34Speaker 1: fund kids. They just keep getting stuff no matter how
- 13:39Speaker 1: you know, no matter what happens, they just keep getting good,
- 13:41Speaker 1: nice things. But let's we don't need to devolve. Let's
- 13:44Speaker 1: get into the game itself. Yeah, growing up, like you're
- 13:48Speaker 1: you're thirty years older than me, so we you experienced
- 13:53Speaker 1: this as a later stage adult, while I was experiencing
- 13:56Speaker 1: it as a child. But it's interesting to think back
- 14:00Speaker 1: to that mystique that was built and that existed through
- 14:03Speaker 1: most of our formative years. I think some younger fans think,
- 14:07Speaker 1: like lambeau is this forever iconic, and it's not. They
- 14:10Speaker 1: had split their games with Milwaukee before ninety five, and
- 14:14Speaker 1: in ninety five they go full lambeau Field. From that
- 14:19Speaker 1: point on, they go on an absurd twenty five because
- 14:23Speaker 1: it coincides with the rise of farb They go on
- 14:26Speaker 1: a twenty five consecutive regular home season win streak. I
- 14:31Speaker 1: think it's the second largest in NFL history. I think
- 14:35Speaker 1: the Dolphins had like twenty seven. And that streak ends
- 14:40Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen. With the Randy Moss game boo yeah,
- 14:46Speaker 1: ninety five to the Randy Moss game September seventeenth of
- 14:50Speaker 1: ninety five to October fifth of ninety eight, they did
- 14:53Speaker 1: not lose a home game, and then the winter thing
- 14:57Speaker 1: still persisted. They were twelve and zero all time in
- 15:01Speaker 1: home playoff games. And then do you remember when Vic
- 15:05Speaker 1: shattered that. You remember when he came in in that
- 15:08Speaker 1: two thousand and three playoff game. He was like twenty
- 15:11Speaker 1: two years old and just throttled them in a way
- 15:15Speaker 1: where everybody went, what that's not right, You're up like
- 15:18Speaker 1: twenty four zero. So I don't know if home field
- 15:22Speaker 1: advantage has changed for the entire league, if people are
- 15:26Speaker 1: more prepared for weather and the elements, if just the
- 15:29Speaker 1: technology and advancements of being an NFL team have changed that.
- 15:33Speaker 1: But we I do remember a time where it's like,
- 15:35Speaker 1: go to Green Bay lose.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure.
- 15:37Speaker 1: It's very nice that that is not that way anymore.
- 15:42Speaker 2: Yeah, because it used to be, well, you know, it
- 15:44Speaker 2: would get so cold so early. And that's what I
- 15:47Speaker 2: love about that stadium is it's a lot of bleachers
- 15:50Speaker 2: and so you are smushed together. It's you are surviving
- 15:54Speaker 2: because of a stranger's body heat. It's it's perfect.
- 15:58Speaker 1: I do.
- 15:58Speaker 2: I really like that stadium, but I really like to
- 16:01Speaker 2: watch them lose in that stadium New York Giants.
- 16:03Speaker 1: I'd like to watch them lose. I think if they
- 16:05Speaker 1: do lose, I normally we do game previews, but I
- 16:09Speaker 1: want to Can we do a player spotlight as a
- 16:12Speaker 1: dude I've been talking about all year and I can't
- 16:14Speaker 1: stop talking about him. And I don't think even though
- 16:16Speaker 1: other people are talking about him, the credit is anywhere
- 16:19Speaker 1: near where it should be. And I think it really
- 16:22Speaker 1: clicked last game Bears game, Tom Brady said, and I
- 16:27Speaker 1: think everybody picked up on it. Maybe it's common knowledge,
- 16:30Speaker 1: but he goes. Brian Flores told them that Jalen Redman
- 16:34Speaker 1: has been our best defensive lineman. It's on the line
- 16:37Speaker 1: with you know, Jonathan Gernard's some other good players. But
- 16:40Speaker 1: I totally agree, and I think this guy is not
- 16:45Speaker 1: only doing that right now, but like, if you're looking
- 16:50Speaker 1: for hope, if you're looking for enthusiasm to me on
- 16:54Speaker 1: the defensive side, I got one for each side. But
- 16:57Speaker 1: it's he's a place to put a ton of it,
- 17:00Speaker 1: because not only is he like this unique story, but
- 17:04Speaker 1: I didn't understand this. So he grew up in a
- 17:06Speaker 1: place called Midwest City, Oklahoma, which is the funniest name.
- 17:13Speaker 1: It's like being from town. Yeah, I'm from town, Illinois.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Hey, we need a name for our city.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Well, where is it pretty south near Texas? Well, let's
- 17:24Speaker 1: call it Midwest City. Brother, Midwest City, Oklahomer. So, he
- 17:30Speaker 1: didn't play varsity football his first two years of high school.
- 17:33Speaker 1: He was just a basketball player. And I know there's
- 17:36Speaker 1: like basketball players in college who went on to play
- 17:39Speaker 1: football in the pros, and I guess maybe some of
- 17:42Speaker 1: them never played high school football. But the first time
- 17:44Speaker 1: this dude ever touched a football he was a junior
- 17:47Speaker 1: in high school. First year high school, eighty two tackles,
- 17:53Speaker 1: fourteen sacks. They played like nine games in high school.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Du senior year. Listen to this second year ever playing
- 18:03Speaker 1: football his senior year starts, he's only been in the
- 18:05Speaker 1: sport for a year, eighty seven tackles, thirty four for
- 18:11Speaker 1: a loss, nineteen and a half sacks, and he becomes
- 18:15Speaker 1: the number sixteenth nationally ranked player. Wow.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Now I have some stats here too. From his high
- 18:22Speaker 2: school sophomore year basketball scored one hundred and sixty four points,
- 18:31Speaker 2: eighteen dunks, one shattered backboard, fourteen tackles, And that's why
- 18:37Speaker 2: they asked him to move to football.
- 18:42Speaker 1: Dude, think about going from never touching a football to
- 18:45Speaker 1: the sixteenth ranked prospect in a sport that everybody desperately
- 18:49Speaker 1: wishes they were a prospect in in two years. Like
- 18:54Speaker 1: that's I think they should take the Jalen Redmond story
- 18:57Speaker 1: and show it to you know, when a bunch of
- 18:59Speaker 1: eighth graders are going to play basketball or football for
- 19:02Speaker 1: the first time, they should set everybody down and go,
- 19:04Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, I'd like to talk about Jalen Redman
- 19:07Speaker 1: and they should tell all this and then they go.
- 19:08Speaker 1: So when you get mad at your coach for not
- 19:12Speaker 1: playing your son correctly, which by the way, he's just
- 19:15Speaker 1: a dad and he's volunteering, when you do that, I
- 19:19Speaker 1: want you to ask yourself yes, could my kids start
- 19:22Speaker 1: playing football at sixteen and be a nationally ranked recruit
- 19:26Speaker 1: by eighteen? And if your answer is no, maybe take
- 19:30Speaker 1: a breath, change your tone, and refocus.
- 19:34Speaker 2: Because this high school was in Oklahoma, so many dads
- 19:40Speaker 2: had to be screaming about this basketball player turned football
- 19:46Speaker 2: player starting to get all these things and then after
- 19:51Speaker 2: one game. This is my impersonation of so many dads
- 19:54Speaker 2: in Oklahoma. Yeah, all right.
- 19:59Speaker 1: He so he goes to college. He ends up having
- 20:02Speaker 1: a medical issue in college. Carol Levin, I believe did
- 20:06Speaker 1: a really great story on this. But he doesn't get drafted,
- 20:11Speaker 1: right despite his combine. It's like he has the second
- 20:14Speaker 1: best forty yard dash time among interior defensive lineman's second
- 20:17Speaker 1: best ten yard split, and the best broad jump and
- 20:20Speaker 1: vertical jump. Like he's an off the charts athlete and
- 20:23Speaker 1: he's still Oh, by the way, only been playing football
- 20:26Speaker 1: significantly less than a decade, so he's undrafted, signs with
- 20:30Speaker 1: the Panthers, plays in the XFL. Everybody knows this part
- 20:33Speaker 1: of the story. But man, it's not that I like,
- 20:37Speaker 1: I'm not focusing on him because I want to focus
- 20:40Speaker 1: on the fact that he's been good. I'm focusing on
- 20:44Speaker 1: him because I think guys like that who learns so
- 20:48Speaker 1: quickly and becomes So what's he going to look like
- 20:51Speaker 1: in two years? I don't think he's at a ceiling
- 20:53Speaker 1: are you? Are you all of a sudden going what
- 20:55Speaker 1: have we found ourselves here? And with the way I
- 20:58Speaker 1: think Donovan Jackson is played on the offensive line, the
- 21:01Speaker 1: whole talk in the off season was we've got to
- 21:03Speaker 1: fix the trenches. We got to fix the interior trenches.
- 21:06Speaker 1: And they went and got a couple of big name
- 21:08Speaker 1: free agents on both sides, and then I think the
- 21:11Speaker 1: Donovan Jackson draft pick, even though it was a number
- 21:14Speaker 1: one pick, and this Jalen Redman thing which happened the
- 21:16Speaker 1: year before, they kind of flew under the radar. And
- 21:19Speaker 1: right now, if you're looking at the future of those interiors,
- 21:22Speaker 1: I feel really good about it because I think both
- 21:24Speaker 1: these guys have a chance to be incredible studs. We
- 21:29Speaker 1: should move to the game preview. We should do that
- 21:32Speaker 1: part of the show, because that is I could have
- 21:34Speaker 1: just talked I could have just talked Jalen Redmond the
- 21:37Speaker 1: whole time, but we do have to preview the game.
- 21:40Speaker 1: That's an important part of our job. Okay, one thing
- 21:44Speaker 1: I'm really looking forward to this weekend. Justin Jefferson. He
- 21:47Speaker 1: passed last Sunday Tory Holt to climb to number two
- 21:51Speaker 1: on the list of most receiving yards in a player's
- 21:54Speaker 1: first six seasons. He only needs one hundred and ninety
- 21:57Speaker 1: seven to pass Randy Moss and come number one. Everybody
- 22:01Speaker 1: else is either on this list in the top five.
- 22:04Speaker 1: I mean, you're talking it's Randy Moss, Tory Holt, Jerry Rice,
- 22:08Speaker 1: Calvin Johnson.
- 22:09Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Yeah, we're already, We're already to the prediction segment because
- 22:13Speaker 1: I think he's getting it Sunday. So the uh, I
- 22:19Speaker 1: think the interesting thing about it, The thing I like
- 22:22Speaker 1: about it is now that they play seventeen games, it
- 22:27Speaker 1: can be kind of baked and you're like, well, he's
- 22:30Speaker 1: that gay all the extra games, but with one hundred
- 22:32Speaker 1: and ninety seven to go, it's feasibly could break it
- 22:34Speaker 1: in the next couple and that shortens that, Like it's
- 22:36Speaker 1: not like he needed the extra games. He's just breaking
- 22:39Speaker 1: the record purely based upon breaking the record. So it's
- 22:44Speaker 1: kind of wild that we have, you know, in our lifetimes,
- 22:49Speaker 1: we have got to have Randy Moss and Justin Jefferson
- 22:53Speaker 1: and Chris Carter.
- 22:54Speaker 2: That's unbelievable.
- 22:55Speaker 1: It's pretty it's pretty strange. It's pretty great.
- 22:57Speaker 2: J Let me let me tell you this. So Chris
- 22:58Speaker 2: Carter was at the game and they were talking to
- 23:01Speaker 2: him about Vikings Bears matchups, and he's down on the field.
- 23:05Speaker 2: They go, so what do you think about the Chicago
- 23:06Speaker 2: Bears and he goes, I gotta tell you I love
- 23:08Speaker 2: the Bears. Without the Bears, I wouldn't be in the
- 23:10Speaker 2: Hall of Fame. And the place goes crazy. It was
- 23:15Speaker 2: such a good line, and it's exactly what everyone needed
- 23:18Speaker 2: because we were tense.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Let me give you two things to feel good about,
- 23:25Speaker 1: and then let's do our prediction. Okay, okay, Aaron Jones
- 23:29Speaker 1: is returning to Lambeau. This is take two for that
- 23:32Speaker 1: journey last year. Pretty good. Week four twenty two. Carries
- 23:37Speaker 1: ninety three yards, four receptions forty six yards. He's done
- 23:42Speaker 1: very well against the Packers on the whole, with one
- 23:44Speaker 1: hundred and forty total rushing yards seventy six receiving yards.
- 23:48Speaker 1: But in addition, our wide receivers have done exception really well.
- 23:53Speaker 1: Jefferson and Addison combined four in week four one hundred
- 23:58Speaker 1: and fifty seven yards and two touchdowns, and then Jefferson,
- 24:01Speaker 1: Addison and Naylor in Week sixteen combined for two hundred
- 24:06Speaker 1: and forty two yards and two touchdowns. So this is
- 24:10Speaker 1: a This is a group of weapons that has had
- 24:15Speaker 1: success against the Packers. And if for no other reason
- 24:20Speaker 1: that I have a bunch of unfinished trash talk chats
- 24:24Speaker 1: in my phone right now, hm, I would love to
- 24:27Speaker 1: see that continue. What do you got for prediction score is? Uh?
- 24:32Speaker 2: Listen, I'm gonna tell you something. I got up at
- 24:35Speaker 2: three point thirty in the morning to fly home from Washington,
- 24:38Speaker 2: DC to watch the same mistakes being made over and
- 24:42Speaker 2: over and never taking a chance to fix them. I'm
- 24:46Speaker 2: going Viking six Packers three. I'm in a negative headspace
- 24:51Speaker 2: right now.
- 24:52Speaker 1: You're in a negative headspace. I actually I am in a
- 24:54Speaker 1: little bit of a negative headspace too. I'm gonna go
- 24:59Speaker 1: I also think the Packers are going to score three
- 25:01Speaker 1: Vikings one hundred and twenty seven. And I think this
- 25:07Speaker 1: is a breakout week for my boy Jalen Redmond. I
- 25:09Speaker 1: highlighted him on the show. And then if he does breakout,
- 25:12Speaker 1: I mean he's already broken up. But I'm like, oh,
- 25:15Speaker 1: he has like a monster game, and if that happens,
- 25:17Speaker 1: I will convince myself that I played a role in it,
- 25:20Speaker 1: and then we might have to do a player segment
- 25:22Speaker 1: highlight thing on every show. Because I deal with obsessive
- 25:26Speaker 1: compulsive disorder and I believe in a lot of silly stuff.
- 25:29Speaker 1: I'm very superstitious those aren't the same thing. I just
- 25:32Speaker 1: happened to have both of them coexisting in my brain.
- 25:36Speaker 2: For my player prediction, I'm gonna go Aaron Jones gets
- 25:40Speaker 2: a Lambeau Leap Purple Edition Purple E discion.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Are you when was the last time you were at
- 25:47Speaker 1: a game in Lambeau? Was it that one you got
- 25:50Speaker 1: boot at? Or have you been to one since I.
- 25:52Speaker 2: Went to one? Since? So my uncle, who my great uncle,
- 25:56Speaker 2: he ended up he had the high school rushing record
- 26:01Speaker 2: in Green Bay for I think into the nineties. And
- 26:05Speaker 2: this is my great uncle, and so when he was little,
- 26:09Speaker 2: he used to sneak in to practice under a fence
- 26:14Speaker 2: all him and his friends could watch. And it was
- 26:17Speaker 2: just just this really cool, really cool experience to get
- 26:21Speaker 2: to bring him to a Packer game, and it was
- 26:26Speaker 2: it was the game that Adrian Peterson ran wild on them,
- 26:31Speaker 2: so it was really really fun to see. But I've
- 26:33Speaker 2: got to bring him into the little museum, the Packer
- 26:37Speaker 2: Hall of Fame, and he started crying and I was like, oh,
- 26:41Speaker 2: this dude was tough. So it was it was a
- 26:43Speaker 2: really interesting fun moment. So the juxtaposition of having that
- 26:48Speaker 2: chant happen at one game with my buddies and then
- 26:51Speaker 2: getting to watch this guy like really have a great
- 26:53Speaker 2: time was very fun.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Here's what I think. Should let me give you a
- 26:57Speaker 1: pitch because we're both in a little bit of a
- 26:58Speaker 1: negative headspace and I'd like to push us into a
- 27:00Speaker 1: positive headspace. So clearly that's my NonStop goal. Here's my pitch. Okay,
- 27:09Speaker 1: I think if and when they allow us to keep
- 27:12Speaker 1: doing this show next year, which I can't imagine why
- 27:14Speaker 1: anyone would, given who you and I are as like
- 27:18Speaker 1: people like the closer they let us, the more insane
- 27:22Speaker 1: we become. But I think I think Chatty Daddy Insie
- 27:29Speaker 1: recording from Lambeau next year. Yeah, sure, we'll do it
- 27:32Speaker 1: on the fan absolutely will help with the pregame show.
- 27:36Speaker 1: How about you have the We're the you know how
- 27:39Speaker 1: you wake up and you're like, what time's Colin Coward on.
- 27:41Speaker 1: But there's that other show that's on in the morning
- 27:42Speaker 1: that keeps switching, like the Breakfast Ball or whatever. Give us,
- 27:47Speaker 1: make us breakfast Ball to the pregame show. Put Cy
- 27:51Speaker 1: and Chatty Daddy out in Lambeau and let's just see
- 27:54Speaker 1: what comes back.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Yeah not Chad and Si we don't come back, and
- 27:59Speaker 2: body Bags made.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Thanks again Chad for being here. Thanks all of you
- 28:04Speaker 1: for listening to the show on our podcast. Fend that
- 28:07Speaker 1: needs a ton while you're here, give it a review
- 28:09Speaker 1: like if you haven't done that. Finally, a huge shout
- 28:12Speaker 1: out to Ticketmaster, the official ticket marketplace of the Minnesota Vikings,
- 28:16Speaker 1: for helping make this show happen. Enjoy the game, everybody,
