- 2:49Sunny mornings send you. In local news, health
- 2:54officials have reported that the risk for West
- 2:56Nile virus is high in Boston and several surrounding
- 3:00areas, following two human cases in Massachusetts.
- 3:05A man in his 60s contracted the virus in Middlesex
- 3:08County, joining another man in his 90s who was
- 3:11exposed earlier. Public Health Commissioner Robbie
- 3:14Goldstein emphasized that those who are older
- 3:17or have compromised immune systems are particularly
- 3:21at risk. With 184 positive mosquito samples detected
- 3:26statewide, residents are urged to use repellent,
- 3:30dress appropriately, and eliminate standing water
- 3:33around their homes. While most infected individuals
- 3:36may not show symptoms, some can experience fever
- 3:40and body aches. Now on to sports. The Southeastern
- 3:49Conference issued a statement emphasizing its
- 3:52belief that athletes who leave college athletics
- 3:55and sign professional contracts should not then
- 3:58be permitted to return to college competition.
- 4:01This comes amid discussions about former Ole
- 4:04Miss tight end Daquan Wright, who hopes to clear
- 4:07waivers with the Cleveland Browns to return to
- 4:09college and play for Louisiana State University
- 4:12in what would be his fifth season of eligibility.
- 4:16Wright's situation is unprecedented, possibly
- 4:19setting a trend due to ongoing legal battles
- 4:22between the NCAA and athletes seeking a fifth
- 4:26year of eligibility. The SEC statement highlighted
- 4:30concerns about blurring the line between college
- 4:33and professional sports. In local sports, the
- 4:37Red Sox are riding high, four straight wins after
- 4:41topping the Marlins 4 -2 last night in Miami.
- 4:46Rangers Suarez battled five innings and Aroldis
- 4:49Chapman closed it out for his 30th save. Jaron
- 4:53Duran went two for four. Boston is now 72 and
- 4:5859, up one to zero in this series, and they're
- 5:02back at Lone Depot Park tonight at 640 with Peyton
- 5:05Toley on the mound, looking to set up a sweep
- 5:08tomorrow. Behind the scenes, the managerial search
- 5:12is heating up. Interim skipper Chad Tracy holds
- 5:15the edge for the permanent job, per insider Chris
- 5:19Cotillo, though Rob Thompson and Don Mattingly
- 5:22could enter the picture. A decision is expected
- 5:26once the season wraps. Over in Foxboro, the Patriots
- 5:31are dealing with punter Bryce Behringer's injury,
- 5:35signing veteran Matt Hacht to fill in, while
- 5:38cornerback Christian Gonzalez returned to practice
- 5:41Monday for the first time since contract talk
- 5:44stalled. That's a good sign for his health and
- 5:46the extension. Meanwhile, the Celtics are already
- 5:50building chemistry out west. Peyton Pritchard
- 5:54has been running in formal workouts with Jason
- 5:57Tatum, Paul George, Derek White, and Sam Hauser,
- 6:01getting early reps and ahead of a retooled roster
- 6:04after the Jalen Brown trade. In top news, Should
- 6:10you stop using your hands to apply your skincare?
- 6:14We asked a dermatologist. Every time you apply
- 6:17serum or moisturizer, you are transferring whatever
- 6:21is on your fingers onto your face. This has led
- 6:24many to skip using their fingers altogether and
- 6:27opt for hands -free applicators. According to
- 6:30dermatologists, as long as you use clean fingers,
- 6:33applying skincare with your hands is fine. The
- 6:36real concern is introducing bacteria into the
- 6:39product. Hands -free products like roller balls
- 6:43and mists can be convenient, but they are not
- 6:46automatically more hygienic. Always wash your
- 6:49hands before applying skin care. In business
- 6:53news, Visa and MasterCard stocks hit fresh records,
- 6:58underscoring a resilient United States consumer.
- 7:02Aggregate spending has been strong. even if American
- 7:05shoppers are getting choosier about what they
- 7:08buy. Visa and MasterCard shares notched their
- 7:11first record closes in more than a year, helping
- 7:14to paint a picture of sturdy consumer spending
- 7:17despite an array of pressures on American shoppers.
- 7:21Shares of Visa, which investors view as a gauge
- 7:24of consumer spending, finished 3 .1%, higher
- 7:28on Monday to close at $382 .41. A new high. The
- 7:35gains made for the stock's first record finish
- 7:37since June 11, 2025, when it closed at $373 .31,
- 7:45according to Dow Jones Market data. In crypto
- 7:49movement, Bitcoin is up 4 % to about $81 ,000.

- 9:05ringmaker, with offices in San Francisco, California
- 9:08and Finland, plans to raise up to $3 billion.
- 9:13This valuation represents a significant increase
- 9:16from $10 .9 billion last September. Hora generated
- 9:21$500 million in revenue in 2024, roughly $1 billion
- 9:27in 2025, and expects close to $2 billion in 2026.

- 9:46news, Harlan Coban's 8 -episode Netflix thriller
- 9:50is officially one of its top 10 shows of all

- 10:40comes from the American naturalist and essayist,
- 10:43John Burroughs. And he said, the lure of the
