- 0:16Speaker 1: Yeah, great team effort.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Just thankful that you know, a small market team like
- 0:23Speaker 2: us can come into a place like Mile High and
- 0:25Speaker 2: get it done.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Welcome to jag Zam.
- 0:28Speaker 4: It's a small market show to talk about your favorite
- 0:31Speaker 4: football team that's now playoff found. I'm Kindannie Stephens, Brian Text,
- 0:34Speaker 4: and John Oser with us today and there's a whole
- 0:36Speaker 4: lot to talk about after a huge win in Denver
- 0:38Speaker 4: over the weekend, and now things are official as the
- 0:41Speaker 4: Jaguars are headed to the playoffs. So let's start off
- 0:42Speaker 4: with our big Things for you today, brought to you
- 0:44Speaker 4: by g EHA Government Employees Health Association.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Big Thing number one has to be clinched.
- 0:48Speaker 4: Brian things, we'd ninety nine point something something percent sure
- 0:52Speaker 4: before Monday Night Football after the Colts last the forty
- 0:55Speaker 4: nine ers, Jaguars are heading to the postseason.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Listen back to little antic climactic because I think everybody
- 0:59Speaker 1: around here has realize that this is a playoff team.
- 1:01Speaker 1: But it's earlier than twenty twenty two, John, when they
- 1:04Speaker 1: had to go all the way to the season finale
- 1:06Speaker 1: against the Tennessee Titans to knock this one down. I
- 1:08Speaker 1: think what's interesting is is that they've clinched it in
- 1:11Speaker 1: twenty twenty five. But I think all of us can
- 1:13Speaker 1: see that this will be a playoff team going forward,
- 1:16Speaker 1: that what they're building here is substantial, that it's sustainable,
- 1:20Speaker 1: and that it's something that this year. Well, it's a
- 1:23Speaker 1: story that we're going to watch and tell and there
- 1:26Speaker 1: is no possible ending. It's all in front of them.
- 1:30Speaker 5: Look, when you follow this as long as we have,
- 1:33Speaker 5: you clinch when you get a chance to clinch, because
- 1:35Speaker 5: this is a weird league, so you get in. I
- 1:39Speaker 5: thought it was cool that they clinched on the weekend
- 1:42Speaker 5: where they turned in their biggest, most significant victory.
- 1:46Speaker 6: It felt like they earned it.
- 1:48Speaker 5: It certainly felt like a playoff clinching statement thing on Sunday. So, yeah,
- 1:54Speaker 5: they're in for the ninth time, and I think they're
- 1:57Speaker 5: in with the best team and the best chance they've
- 1:59Speaker 5: had in over twenty five years.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Absolutely, let's go to our second big thing, which is
- 2:03Speaker 4: a huge win in Denver. So believe the hype. We
- 2:06Speaker 4: talked a lot about maybe not a lot of national
- 2:09Speaker 4: people not believing in the deck where it's going into
- 2:11Speaker 4: this game. They don't care about that, obviously, but Trevor
- 2:14Speaker 4: Lawrence certainly doesn't care about it. He's been dealing out
- 2:16Speaker 4: probably his best month of football we've seen so far,
- 2:19Speaker 4: and his teammates are buying it as well.
- 2:22Speaker 7: I mean, I guess the numbers don't lie. I mean,
- 2:24Speaker 7: he's doing a great job. But we always knew that
- 2:27Speaker 7: he could do this, and he's playing confident. I mean,
- 2:31Speaker 7: when somebody's confidence, there's nothing you can do about that guy.
- 2:35Speaker 1: You can know, nothing you can do about that.
- 2:36Speaker 7: Man that's confident, raid to role, trusting his teammates and
- 2:41Speaker 7: just we've been making plays for him and that just
- 2:45Speaker 7: keeps that going, and we just want to keep rolling
- 2:47Speaker 7: with that.
- 2:47Speaker 4: Orka Washington had a career day, but the guy thrown
- 2:50Speaker 4: him excuse me, the guy throwing him. The football has
- 2:52Speaker 4: been having a month as I've been talking about John,
- 2:55Speaker 4: and seems like he's only getting better.
- 2:56Speaker 3: By the week.
- 2:56Speaker 5: Yeah, I finally figured out where I put my hat.
- 3:00Speaker 5: Sor Hunter had him post.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Look.
- 3:05Speaker 5: Trevor has been probably too criticized early this year, So
- 3:11Speaker 5: to say that he has come out of nowhere and
- 3:14Speaker 5: all of a sudden has gone from bad to good
- 3:16Speaker 5: is not true. But the way that he is ascending
- 3:21Speaker 5: I have believed all along he could get there. I
- 3:24Speaker 5: didn't think he would get there as quickly and as impressively.
- 3:28Speaker 6: He's in the MVP conversation.
- 3:30Speaker 5: I don't think he'll get it because I think Matt
- 3:32Speaker 5: Stafford will still get it. But you can't have a
- 3:34Speaker 5: conversation without him. This is a good team, it's an
- 3:38Speaker 5: ascending team. But Brian, the reason they've got a shot
- 3:41Speaker 5: at this YEP is because of Trevor Lawrence.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Well, let me take it a slightly different direction because
- 3:46Speaker 1: a lot has been said over the last few weeks
- 3:48Speaker 1: about the way that Trevor has been playing. This is
- 3:51Speaker 1: the best offense in Jaguar's history, no doubt. They are
- 3:56Speaker 1: scoring twenty seven points a game, which is more than
- 3:59Speaker 1: two thousand and seven ten in two thousand and seven,
- 4:01Speaker 1: which were the other two teams that scored more than
- 4:04Speaker 1: four hundred points in a season. Look, they don't have
- 4:07Speaker 1: Jimmy Smith's hundred and sixteen catches in sixteen hundred yards,
- 4:10Speaker 1: or Fred Taylor's seventeen touchdowns, or Maurice Jones Drew's sixteen
- 4:14Speaker 1: hundred yards which led the NFL. They don't have that
- 4:17Speaker 1: superlative star performance in terms of numbers around him because
- 4:21Speaker 1: he's distributing the balls so well, everybody's getting a piece
- 4:24Speaker 1: of the pie. But this offense has scored more than
- 4:27Speaker 1: twenty five points twelve times. The best offense next to
- 4:30Speaker 1: it in Jaguars history eight and no one had more
- 4:32Speaker 1: than six in a row. They've got eight in a row.
- 4:34Speaker 1: So this is the best stretch of offense that we
- 4:37Speaker 1: have seen in Jaguars' history. And it's being made because
- 4:41Speaker 1: the quarterback is playing the best that any quarterback in
- 4:46Speaker 1: Jaguars history has played. And I don't mean to take
- 4:47Speaker 1: away anything from Mark Brunel. Some of the moments, the
- 4:50Speaker 1: moments he had in Denver, John in January of nineteen
- 4:53Speaker 1: ninety seven epic still some of the best moments in
- 4:56Speaker 1: franchise history. And lots of players have played at a
- 4:58Speaker 1: very high level. This stretch with this team right now,
- 5:02Speaker 1: it's the best we've seen.
- 5:03Speaker 6: Yeah, I completely agree.
- 5:04Speaker 5: It's a little hard to compare eras because we've gotten
- 5:08Speaker 5: far enough away from the nineties era that the game
- 5:10Speaker 5: is so much different. The Jaguars offense didn't try to
- 5:14Speaker 5: play the way this offense did in the nineties, but
- 5:20Speaker 5: this team right now plays offense the way this league
- 5:24Speaker 5: plays offense, and right now it's playing better than anybody
- 5:28Speaker 5: else in the league, maybe outside of San Francisco, which
- 5:29Speaker 5: is also really hot. But this, this Jaguars offense is
- 5:32Speaker 5: as good as any in the NFL right now.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Trevor elevating everybody around him, which makes it all the
- 5:37Speaker 4: much cooler. Our final big thing today gonna be Ristct
- 5:40Speaker 4: some disrespects going around, still getting it for the Jaguar
- 5:43Speaker 4: and Liam Collins because he doesn't care.
- 5:46Speaker 2: We don't care, you know, we really don't care about
- 5:49Speaker 2: the narrative. You know, it's I'm sorry to say that,
- 5:52Speaker 2: but it's only helping us. So I want the narrative
- 5:56Speaker 2: to keep coming.
- 5:58Speaker 4: Brian, a little bit of acknowledgment throughout the league, I
- 6:00Speaker 4: think now with that big win over Denver, but there's
- 6:03Speaker 4: always going to be somebody and they'll find them.
- 6:05Speaker 1: Well, how about this. The Pro Bowl list is out today,
- 6:08Speaker 1: and when people see it and see how few Jaguars
- 6:10Speaker 1: are being recognized for their great seasons, that will be
- 6:14Speaker 1: the next hammer that they have to hit. There's no
- 6:16Speaker 1: shortage of them. But that's what this team needs, John
- 6:21Speaker 1: is they need the edge right now, and they've got
- 6:23Speaker 1: lots of it.
- 6:23Speaker 6: Yet I'm glad.
- 6:25Speaker 5: I'm not glad the Pro Bowl thing happened because there's
- 6:27Speaker 5: guys who are deserving that I wish would be honored.
- 6:30Speaker 5: But for Liam's sake, I'm sort of glad it happened
- 6:32Speaker 5: because he can hammer that like a nail the rest
- 6:35Speaker 5: of the week. Look the respect thing. More power to
- 6:40Speaker 5: them for really playing it up. They until the last
- 6:44Speaker 5: few weeks, you understood why the league wasn't watching them
- 6:47Speaker 5: a little bit. And now that they're playing to this level,
- 6:51Speaker 5: the league's watching and the people within the league knows.
- 6:54Speaker 5: The media is starting to catch up with it. They'll
- 6:56Speaker 5: get the respect. Good on them for acting like they don't.
- 7:00Speaker 3: We gotta earn it. Stay with a Sara and jag Zam.
- 7:02Speaker 4: We got a lot of video from a big win

- 7:17Speaker 3: Zipchair is furniture for fans.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, it's just the team's coming together.
- 7:22Speaker 8: I feel like we have a lot of confidence, but
- 7:23Speaker 8: we don't take our preparation for granted.
- 7:26Speaker 1: You can't just show up and win games in this league.
- 7:28Speaker 8: You got to prepare the right way, and you got
- 7:30Speaker 8: to have that edge and that mindset come Sunday.
- 7:31Speaker 1: And I think that's something.
- 7:32Speaker 8: Our team does a really good job of, is playing
- 7:34Speaker 8: with that chip on your shoulder and that edge and
- 7:37Speaker 8: attacking people and getting after them. And I think that's
- 7:39Speaker 8: something that's been huge for us, can't be understated. So
- 7:42Speaker 8: we have to continue to do that. You know, it's
- 7:44Speaker 8: not You're not just going to show up on Sunday
- 7:45Speaker 8: and win games no matter who you're playing, and especially
- 7:47Speaker 8: against a good team in Denver. So proud of the guys,
- 7:50Speaker 8: and we came ready to go, very.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Good stuff and Trevor Lawrence locked in at this point.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Sounds in the game coming out a little bit later
- 7:57Speaker 4: this week, you'll see even from the pregame they were
- 7:59Speaker 4: ready to go when they got to dene where they
- 8:02Speaker 4: were ready to go.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Let's put that way. He's so calm, and there have
- 8:04Speaker 1: been times where I've wanted to see more intensity from him,
- 8:07Speaker 1: but that sound bite right there after such a huge
- 8:11Speaker 1: win just tells you exactly who he is. And as
- 8:14Speaker 1: loud as the stadium was and all the emotion and
- 8:16Speaker 1: energy around that important of a game for them to
- 8:19Speaker 1: be so locked in, but a testament to his leadership,
- 8:23Speaker 1: which I think is a word that we use to
- 8:25Speaker 1: loosely around professional football. I think he's the complete package
- 8:28Speaker 1: right now.
- 8:29Speaker 5: He's uber impressive right now. And I'm not normally a
- 8:34Speaker 5: stat guy, and I gotta come in here and talk
- 8:35Speaker 5: about stats a whole lot, But if you look at
- 8:37Speaker 5: his Pro Football Reference page wherever they start listening, numbers
- 8:42Speaker 5: the last four games are unbelievable, And in this case,
- 8:46Speaker 5: I think it reflects what we're all seeing. I those
- 8:48Speaker 5: numbers weren't the same, you'd still be saying clean zeros
- 8:52Speaker 5: on interceptions, yep, crooked marks on touchdowns and big crooked marks.
- 8:57Speaker 6: This is a special run.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Well, I heard one that I just thought was so impressive.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Abo'll mention it. I heard he's got a ninety nine
- 9:02Speaker 1: point nine quarterback efficiency rating on third down that's.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Insane compared to last year as well.
- 9:07Speaker 4: Like, think about where the scene, what you were begging
- 9:09Speaker 4: for a third down and yet.
- 9:11Speaker 1: But what that says is is that in that pivotal
- 9:14Speaker 1: moment on any drive, when you face a third down,
- 9:16Speaker 1: especially against that defense and those conditions, his quarterback rating
- 9:20Speaker 1: is so high. It's just another way to measure how
- 9:23Speaker 1: great he has been the last month. I think great
- 9:25Speaker 1: is probably not a good enough word to use.
- 9:27Speaker 4: All right, let's look some of the tape, because it
- 9:28Speaker 4: was a fun one to go over, a little defensive
- 9:30Speaker 4: heavy early on, but then that touchdown to Parker Washington
- 9:34Speaker 4: was an absolute dot. The trust is there throwing four,
- 9:38Speaker 4: Parker's even close to the spot that he's going to
- 9:40Speaker 4: be catching it at. And Parker Washington also just doing
- 9:43Speaker 4: crazy things. I think the game plan obviously catered around
- 9:46Speaker 4: him a little bit because they were trying to take
- 9:47Speaker 4: away Jacobe and DTJ, but Parker really just flourished.
- 9:51Speaker 5: Well, sometimes you talk about players around here and it's
- 9:55Speaker 5: different than what you talk about, and what I'm getting
- 9:58Speaker 5: at is last week we all talked about, well, who's.
- 10:02Speaker 6: Certain going to take away?
- 10:03Speaker 5: And I remember saying it doesn't matter because I know
- 10:08Speaker 5: it's a sayment about Parker. But you had Parker, you
- 10:11Speaker 5: have Ja Kobe, you have Brenton Strange, you have Travis Etn.
- 10:14Speaker 5: I'd even gotten to Brian Thomas Junior, Tim Patrick. This
- 10:18Speaker 5: was purely a case with Parker where they knew Certain
- 10:20Speaker 5: wouldn't Gona be autumn.
- 10:21Speaker 6: So they said, okay, don't cover Parker.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Fine, And what would they have done if Travis Hunter
- 10:25Speaker 1: was on the field, right, I mean, just to mention
- 10:28Speaker 1: that there's an abundance of weapons and the one that
- 10:32Speaker 1: you drafted number two overall that everyone was most excited
- 10:35Speaker 1: about it hasn't even been on the field since the byeway.
- 10:37Speaker 6: Yes, some of that goes to what we've been talking
- 10:39Speaker 6: about too.
- 10:41Speaker 5: Clearly, perception in May, August, June mattered nothing to how
- 10:48Speaker 5: these guys are going to use players, because once again
- 10:52Speaker 5: they have completely shifted this on the fly and found
- 10:55Speaker 5: these guys to be stud players.
- 10:57Speaker 6: For them who people weren't even talking about in May.
- 11:00Speaker 5: It has been a remarkable season on that front, and
- 11:02Speaker 5: I think Parker's probably, you know, the shining example of that,
- 11:06Speaker 5: along with a couple others.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Let's take a look at the Jaig Wars second touchdown.
- 11:11Speaker 4: So as we talk a little bit about Travis etn
- 11:14Speaker 4: and then also Brent Strange getting involved, we talked about, yeah,
- 11:17Speaker 4: the running game needs to get involve I think if anything,
- 11:19Speaker 4: if it was going to be picky, that you need
- 11:21Speaker 4: to get the running game going a little bit more.
- 11:22Speaker 4: But I mean growing up against the second best runs
- 11:25Speaker 4: off the defense, so that's understandable as well. But they
- 11:27Speaker 4: did have big plays when they needed them on the
- 11:29Speaker 4: ground and then a huge catch from Brenton Strains have toucheddown.
- 11:32Speaker 1: You know, I was with you on the run game
- 11:35Speaker 1: and wanting to get it started. But the fact the
- 11:37Speaker 1: matter is is everyone's taking it away, and it's just
- 11:39Speaker 1: another measure of how well the quarterback is playing. Oh
- 11:42Speaker 1: you want to take away that which we consider a
- 11:44Speaker 1: bedrock part of our identity. We'll look at this guy
- 11:47Speaker 1: here and look at the throw that he makes to
- 11:48Speaker 1: Brenton Strange. I guess teams are going to keep trying
- 11:51Speaker 1: to take the runaway. We'll see what the Colts and
- 11:53Speaker 1: the Titans try to do in the final two weeks.
- 11:55Speaker 1: But good luck to you.
- 11:57Speaker 6: Somebody to me once in the NFL.
- 11:59Speaker 5: If it team wants to stop you running, they're usually
- 12:03Speaker 5: gonna do it, no matter how good you are at it,
- 12:07Speaker 5: because they can scheme it. The key is to be
- 12:09Speaker 5: able to counter that with what they're doing. I thought
- 12:12Speaker 5: the play you showed Kai spoke to exactly what we're
- 12:14Speaker 5: talking about.
- 12:16Speaker 6: They didn't run great.
- 12:17Speaker 5: I think they ran twenty seven times for Liam. I
- 12:20Speaker 5: think that's the key is, Okay, you can keep stopping me.
- 12:23Speaker 5: I'm going to keep at it, and I'm going to
- 12:25Speaker 5: keep at it enough to where when I don't run,
- 12:29Speaker 5: you're not.
- 12:29Speaker 6: Going to know it.
- 12:31Speaker 5: I'm in Indie and Peyton Manning always used to talk
- 12:33Speaker 5: about you have to have the threat of the run
- 12:35Speaker 5: is much more important than actually having the run. If
- 12:37Speaker 5: you have the threat of the run, then you know
- 12:40Speaker 5: the defense will play a certain way and you can
- 12:41Speaker 5: beat it. I think Trevor's at that point right now.
- 12:43Speaker 1: And one thing they have shown the ability to do
- 12:45Speaker 1: kai is to be able to run when they absolutely
- 12:47Speaker 1: want to, when they want two or three yards, They're
- 12:49Speaker 1: able to get those two or three yards. And how
- 12:51Speaker 1: the last couple of years we've talked about their inability
- 12:54Speaker 1: to get the yards when they absolutely had to have
- 12:56Speaker 1: them and they wanted to run.
- 12:57Speaker 3: Now they can do it. Brock is to make a
- 12:59Speaker 3: little bit over run.
- 13:00Speaker 4: And then when we talk about this team battling back
- 13:02Speaker 4: against adversity, had the penalty on Antonio Johnson then led
- 13:05Speaker 4: to that big R. J. Harvey touchdown that's tied up
- 13:08Speaker 4: the game at that point. And john we talked earlier
- 13:11Speaker 4: in the week saying, you know, you got to be
- 13:12Speaker 4: careful with whether it's turnovers or penalties, because of penalty
- 13:17Speaker 4: like that can affect the game in a big way.
- 13:19Speaker 4: And fortunately this team is so well versed at this
- 13:22Speaker 4: point that they.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Can kind of battle through that.
- 13:25Speaker 4: But I think it's just another example of them kind
- 13:28Speaker 4: of dealing with what came their way and then bouncing
- 13:30Speaker 4: right back.
- 13:31Speaker 6: Yeah, it feels like you got penalties to playing football.
- 13:33Speaker 3: I mean, there's a lot of rep things going on
- 13:35Speaker 3: in that game.
- 13:36Speaker 5: Well, and look, by the letter of the law, helmets
- 13:40Speaker 5: hit a bit. I don't necessarily think that Camp is
- 13:43Speaker 5: pulling Antonio aside and saying you can't.
- 13:46Speaker 6: Do that in that situation soon as it happened.
- 13:49Speaker 5: But the resilience shown after it.
- 13:52Speaker 6: It was interesting being there.
- 13:54Speaker 5: The Broncos stayed with them, and a funny we're talking
- 13:57Speaker 5: that way about the team that's supposed to be the
- 13:58Speaker 5: best in the league.
- 13:59Speaker 1: They hung with the.
- 14:00Speaker 5: Jags, and the crowd would get excited and every time,
- 14:04Speaker 5: you know, a kind and I were sitting in the
- 14:06Speaker 5: press box and it's shaking, and five, six, seven times
- 14:10Speaker 5: you just.
- 14:10Speaker 6: Felt that stop and it's like, oh they scored again. Ah,
- 14:13Speaker 6: they scored again, and I'm sure we're about to see
- 14:14Speaker 6: then scored.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Again the eerie quiet.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Yeah. We talked about being a physical team all year.
- 14:20Speaker 1: They were clearly the more physical team on Sunday.
- 14:25Speaker 4: Trevor had a rushing touchdown with some penalties on that drive,
- 14:27Speaker 4: but then we get another big Parker catch in another
- 14:30Speaker 4: each can't run and those were two of my favorite
- 14:32Speaker 4: plays of the day just because of what we've been seeing. Well,
- 14:38Speaker 4: these are the penalties and then Trevor rushing touchdown, which
- 14:42Speaker 4: is just another example of Trevor.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Throwing it well, but then also using his legs.
- 14:46Speaker 4: I think what's cool about how he's using his legs
- 14:47Speaker 4: now is he still is running around to try to
- 14:52Speaker 4: throw and when he.
- 14:52Speaker 3: Gets in a situation like this, he's like, oh, I
- 14:54Speaker 3: can go.
- 14:54Speaker 4: Score, but it's not at a loss for him throwing
- 14:57Speaker 4: a football anymore.
- 14:58Speaker 5: Yeah, if you haven't seen it, dan Orlowski did a
- 15:01Speaker 5: great breakdown of some of these touchdowns and the scheme
- 15:05Speaker 5: on Trevor's run where they got the defense going the
- 15:08Speaker 5: other way and he basically just walked in another testament
- 15:10Speaker 5: to Liam Cohen, h Parker Washington. You know, just because
- 15:15Speaker 5: he's not the biggest wide receiver in the league. He
- 15:17Speaker 5: might have the strongest legs.
- 15:19Speaker 6: Yeah, and broke tack. You know, just made play after
- 15:24Speaker 6: play after play. Right now, the league is so DPI.
- 15:30Speaker 5: Oriented, defensive pass interference oriented. You're gonna get calls like
- 15:33Speaker 5: Parker got I think.
- 15:35Speaker 6: Twenty years ago.
- 15:36Speaker 5: It's probably not an interference in the end zone. The
- 15:38Speaker 5: key right now in the NFL. Both teams get those
- 15:40Speaker 5: penalties because they're throwing DPI like it's going out of style.
- 15:43Speaker 5: The key is who can take advantage when they get
- 15:46Speaker 5: the break because all teams are getting them right now.
- 15:48Speaker 1: And these guys do.
- 15:49Speaker 5: That's a little bit of a sticking point mee Brian,
- 15:52Speaker 5: I think the league is over dpied right now.
- 15:54Speaker 1: But that's there's not for another day. There's a lot
- 15:56Speaker 1: of fun.
- 15:57Speaker 3: There's a lot of refereeing that is interesting. Let's put
- 16:00Speaker 3: it that way.
- 16:01Speaker 4: Let's take a look at one of the Denver turnovers
- 16:03Speaker 4: fumble and then another Parker catch because maybe a little underrated.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Because at this point it's still I mean, you felt like.
- 16:10Speaker 4: That Jaguars were in control of this entire game. I
- 16:12Speaker 4: didn't feel like they weren't at any point, but like
- 16:14Speaker 4: getting into close to the fourth quarter and getting down
- 16:17Speaker 4: here adding a field goal at the end of this,
- 16:20Speaker 4: that's where you're like, okay, like because when we talk
- 16:23Speaker 4: about the Texan game where they weren't continuing to finish
- 16:26Speaker 4: throughout the fourth this is a point where you're like, Okay,
- 16:28Speaker 4: they understand the stakes here and they're continuing to play
- 16:30Speaker 4: really hard.
- 16:30Speaker 8: Well.
- 16:31Speaker 1: They put themselves in a position where they could add
- 16:33Speaker 1: some points, but more than that, they could make the
- 16:36Speaker 1: clock work to their advantage. There just wasn't going to
- 16:38Speaker 1: be enough time for the Broncos to be able to
- 16:40Speaker 1: come back. If the Jaguars could milk a little clock
- 16:43Speaker 1: and add to the thirty one to seventeen make it
- 16:45Speaker 1: that three score game, it felt like the breaking point
- 16:47Speaker 1: in the ball game when a Manuel Ogbo fell on
- 16:50Speaker 1: that ball.
- 16:50Speaker 6: Yep.
- 16:51Speaker 5: It's again, it's such a situational league right now that
- 16:56Speaker 5: once you get a situation like that. They did their job,
- 16:59Speaker 5: they took advantage, They got the points.
- 17:02Speaker 6: Ifs and buts, if the Broncos hadn't fumbled there and
- 17:06Speaker 6: go score.
- 17:08Speaker 5: The feel of the game to me, I would ask
- 17:12Speaker 5: somebody who was saying that that play turned the game
- 17:15Speaker 5: to tell me when the Jaguars were gonna get stopped
- 17:18Speaker 5: offensively because in that game. Now, I'm not saying they'll
- 17:21Speaker 5: score every drive the rest of the season, but the
- 17:25Speaker 5: theme of that game to me was that whenever the
- 17:28Speaker 5: Broncos did something, the Jaguars hadn't answer offensively. I don't
- 17:33Speaker 5: think we see any evidence that that wouldn't have happened
- 17:35Speaker 5: had that fumble not happened.
- 17:37Speaker 4: Let's do a couple of defensive plays to close things
- 17:39Speaker 4: out because getting lost and all of what we're seeing
- 17:42Speaker 4: with this offense and his high scoring is the defense
- 17:44Speaker 4: is still playing really well on the course, will takeaway
- 17:46Speaker 4: or forcing turnovers, getting takeaways, And I just love what.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Coach Camberton nabers.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Listen. I heard Robert Sala last week, the Niners defensive
- 17:57Speaker 1: coordinators say that he finally got it right. He finally
- 18:00Speaker 1: understood the yards don't matter, it's the points. And what
- 18:02Speaker 1: the Jaguars defense. Forget the yards they gave up. They
- 18:04Speaker 1: only gave up twenty points, and they closed the door
- 18:07Speaker 1: in the fourth quarter with the two takeaways. And you
- 18:10Speaker 1: go back and look, you know they closed it at
- 18:11Speaker 1: the end of the first half against the Jets, and
- 18:13Speaker 1: they closed it early in the third quarter against the Colts.
- 18:16Speaker 1: This team, the defense shuts the door on opponents, or
- 18:19Speaker 1: at least they have in the last month.
- 18:21Speaker 5: Look, the league is not set up for low yardage football,
- 18:26Speaker 5: so you're not going to get low yards football very often,
- 18:30Speaker 5: especially against the team as good as Denver. Defense now
- 18:35Speaker 5: has become a situational game where if you get stops
- 18:40Speaker 5: in big situations and put your team back where the
- 18:45Speaker 5: offense is playing downhill, which it felt all day like
- 18:47Speaker 5: it was the defense does its job when that happens,
- 18:50Speaker 5: and they and they did its job in the fourth quarter.
- 18:54Speaker 5: Somebody asked me, well, wouldn't they have been better off
- 18:56Speaker 5: because it was fourth down if Jan had knocked the
- 18:58Speaker 5: ball down?
- 18:59Speaker 6: And my response to it, you go tell.
- 19:01Speaker 1: A dB to knock it down that one, right.
- 19:04Speaker 5: The interceptions are too rare and uh he had gotten
- 19:08Speaker 5: uh jobbed a little bit on a on a penalty earlier.
- 19:11Speaker 6: I thought, uh, I.
- 19:13Speaker 5: Forget the situation, but it was it was again DP,
- 19:16Speaker 5: I like it's going out of style.
- 19:17Speaker 6: It got called for. It made the play there that
- 19:20Speaker 6: basically sealed the game.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Good for him, Absolutely love to see it. Say it
- 19:23Speaker 3: was here on Jack Zam. We're not gonna do hot takes.
- 19:25Speaker 4: We're gonna talk a little bit about our Chris Christmas
- 19:27Speaker 4: wish list and.
- 19:28Speaker 3: What we want to see come playoff time.
- 19:38Speaker 4: Exam today brought to you in part by fire House Ups.
- 19:43Speaker 1: You down.
- 19:44Speaker 8: You want to show every Sunday and you got a players.
- 19:46Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 19:47Speaker 3: No matter where we're at, we playing the snow and
- 19:49Speaker 3: the rain or whatever you want to do.
- 19:51Speaker 1: I think the JAG's gonna.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Be ready to play playing the snow, playing the rain.
- 19:55Speaker 3: It was really playing in the rain.
- 19:56Speaker 5: Not so much sure, but I think Brian, to Jaron's point,
- 20:01Speaker 5: that does sort of There's many things that define teams
- 20:04Speaker 5: when they get this hot m but being prepared. I
- 20:08Speaker 5: mean you're talking what now, thirteen or fourteen games.
- 20:12Speaker 6: The only game they didn't.
- 20:13Speaker 5: Look like they were absolutely hair on fire ready to
- 20:17Speaker 5: go was the Rams, and I'm not sure they weren't ready.
- 20:19Speaker 5: I think they just got out played that day. But
- 20:21Speaker 5: this team, these guys get prepared and they're ready to
- 20:24Speaker 5: play well.
- 20:24Speaker 1: And then there's think about where they could go in
- 20:26Speaker 1: the playoffs. Is there any place in the AFC that
- 20:29Speaker 1: you wouldn't feel comfortable that.
- 20:30Speaker 6: They could go and play no, no, no.
- 20:33Speaker 5: Because, as you mentioned, what people are going to continue
- 20:37Speaker 5: missing about this team because now you've got the shiny,
- 20:40Speaker 5: long haired quarterback playing well.
- 20:42Speaker 6: So it's going to look like, oh, glamour team.
- 20:45Speaker 5: They're a physical team first, and they're a potentially a
- 20:49Speaker 5: great team because they have a physical team with the
- 20:52Speaker 5: long haired, glamour quarterback and they.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Shut the door defense and a glamour senior of course.
- 20:57Speaker 6: I mean that was that a long time guy.
- 21:00Speaker 4: Normally we do hot takes right about now, but we're
- 21:03Speaker 4: playoff bounds, so we're going to do a little Christmas
- 21:05Speaker 4: wish list. I think last year we had a lot
- 21:07Speaker 4: of stuff on the wish list for the Jaguars at
- 21:09Speaker 4: this time of year. A little bit different now. So
- 21:11Speaker 4: when you're looking at the playoffs, Brian, what are you
- 21:13Speaker 4: hoping for to see from this team?
- 21:15Speaker 1: I'm hoping that Trayvon Walker can stay relatively healthy, all right.
- 21:19Speaker 1: I mean, he's still playing with some device on his wrist,
- 21:22Speaker 1: and he's got a knee on the left side also
- 21:24Speaker 1: that he's got a brace on. But if he does
- 21:26Speaker 1: the relentless energy that he played with on Sunday, you're
- 21:29Speaker 1: talking about a guy, by the way, that in the
- 21:30Speaker 1: last three games has made a fourth down stop on
- 21:34Speaker 1: the run, right, I mean where he has changed the
- 21:37Speaker 1: trajectory of what the other team's offense wanted to do.
- 21:40Speaker 1: He is playing at a insanely high level. Now, is
- 21:44Speaker 1: he getting to the quarterback and creating the sacks that
- 21:46Speaker 1: everyone loves to see? No, but is he getting to
- 21:49Speaker 1: the quarterback and forcing quicker throws? Yes, this is a
- 21:52Speaker 1: guy who's playing at an extremely high level. People have
- 21:55Speaker 1: heard the comparisons Aiden Hutchinson playing on the glamour team, right,
- 21:59Speaker 1: the long haired pass rusher, although they could cut his
- 22:01Speaker 1: hair and uh, and Trayvon Walker just doesn't have those numbers.
- 22:05Speaker 1: But when you watch Trayvon Walker in the way that
- 22:07Speaker 1: he plays football, U there will be an appreciation for
- 22:10Speaker 1: who he is and how he plays the game. If
- 22:12Speaker 1: he stays healthy through the postseason.
- 22:14Speaker 5: Well, he said he had to stop on fourth down
- 22:16Speaker 5: on the run again the last couple of weeks, and
- 22:18Speaker 5: he had a an insanely quick pressure on the pass
- 22:22Speaker 5: where bow Nick sort of had to do like the
- 22:24Speaker 5: chess pass in basketball.
- 22:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:27Speaker 5: I can go on on about Treymont. He's he is
- 22:30Speaker 5: playing at a high level and has for two or
- 22:31Speaker 5: three years. I went a little bit of a different
- 22:33Speaker 5: direction in a fun week. There's many things you want
- 22:36Speaker 5: for the playoffs. We have time to talk about that.
- 22:39Speaker 5: I want one point one million because that's that's supposedly
- 22:42Speaker 5: the population of Duval County. Liam Cohen masks for this
- 22:47Speaker 5: city because, Brian, you know, I'm not sure that this
- 22:50Speaker 5: team has ever had a coach that that that this
- 22:54Speaker 5: fan base could identify with quite this way.
- 22:57Speaker 6: Hey, great coaches. Tom Coffin's a great coach. So it's
- 22:59Speaker 6: really about that.
- 23:01Speaker 5: But I covered Florida in the nineties when Spurrier got there,
- 23:05Speaker 5: and a buddy of mine called me one day and
- 23:07Speaker 5: he was like, John, I just.
- 23:09Speaker 6: Love spury or so much.
- 23:10Speaker 5: This is a prominent local attorney much in his life
- 23:14Speaker 5: and said, I would tie to keep Spurrier at Florida.
- 23:17Speaker 5: I love him this much because of the identity and
- 23:21Speaker 5: the love that fan base had for him changed the
- 23:25Speaker 5: culture and they said, yes, you will lead us out
- 23:28Speaker 5: of our abyss. Liam feels like that to me, where
- 23:33Speaker 5: you know, a unbelievable coach, but he gets it. He
- 23:37Speaker 5: sort of leans into it, and he sort of likes
- 23:39Speaker 5: the whole small market. He's going to go to fisticuffs
- 23:42Speaker 5: with leading with solid he's going to embrace it. I
- 23:48Speaker 5: think he probably knows they're getting a little respect, but
- 23:50Speaker 5: he's going to keep playing that card of Hey, guys,
- 23:53Speaker 5: nobody cares about us.
- 23:54Speaker 6: He is Duval to his core.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Is it ironic that he got so much crap saying
- 24:00Speaker 1: it wrong at his introductory press conference, and yet nobody
- 24:04Speaker 1: says it better than he does right now? Right now,
- 24:06Speaker 1: I'm not talking about the actual Douval, but bringing the
- 24:09Speaker 1: emotion and bringing the lack of respect and bringing the
- 24:12Speaker 1: personality of what that means here in North Florida to
- 24:16Speaker 1: life every Sunday afternoon. So he tripped at the very beginning,
- 24:21Speaker 1: but nobody does it better than he does. Right now,
- 24:23Speaker 1: he's embraced it.
- 24:24Speaker 5: The funny thing is I get emails all the time
- 24:28Speaker 5: about him said, even early.
- 24:32Speaker 6: On, what does he have the fire? The fire?
- 24:35Speaker 5: I mean, look, he can call plays, and he's a
- 24:39Speaker 5: brilliant play caller, clearly, but.
- 24:42Speaker 6: Never think this guy had the fire.
- 24:44Speaker 1: By the way, all of that stuff, all the respect
- 24:46Speaker 1: and all the posts game stuff is great, but none
- 24:49Speaker 1: of it matters as much as the brilliance as the
- 24:51Speaker 1: play calling and as the leadership that he has done
- 24:54Speaker 1: to turn this thing around from where it was last
- 24:57Speaker 1: year to where it is right now. I didn't know
- 24:59Speaker 1: if it was possible. It's been an amazing job.
- 25:01Speaker 4: So much of coaching, especially as a head coach, is
- 25:04Speaker 4: about finding the way to get through to your players
- 25:06Speaker 4: and finding the way people are motivated.
- 25:08Speaker 3: And Liam Cohen is clearly a person.
- 25:09Speaker 4: That is motivated by negatives that whether you know you
- 25:14Speaker 4: didn't get recruited, people saying you're not gonna be a
- 25:16Speaker 4: good coach, people.
- 25:17Speaker 3: Criticizing your first do wall and he uses that to
- 25:20Speaker 3: his motivation.
- 25:21Speaker 4: He's finding a lot of his players are motivated by
- 25:23Speaker 4: that as well.
- 25:23Speaker 3: And I don't know.
- 25:24Speaker 4: I love to see it be a little petty. It's
- 25:26Speaker 4: always entertaining for me. I get it for me. My
- 25:30Speaker 4: playoff wish list is for two home games. As much
- 25:32Speaker 4: as I enjoy going on the road and traveling with
- 25:35Speaker 4: the team, I want to stay home in Dubal County
- 25:38Speaker 4: for a little bit longer if we can. And as
- 25:40Speaker 4: the playoff seating is still kind of up for grabs,
- 25:42Speaker 4: I think that's very much a possibility. And I just
- 25:45Speaker 4: love to see the bank with a big game. Jaguars
- 25:48Speaker 4: fans can come out and support this is the real deal.
- 25:50Speaker 4: If you don't believe it now, then you're never gonna
- 25:52Speaker 4: believe it. And to see them in the postseason, I'm excited.
- 25:55Speaker 4: This will be my first postseason game, so I'll be excited.
- 25:57Speaker 5: You know.
- 25:57Speaker 1: I haven't looked at it. I think the one is
- 25:59Speaker 1: unlike because when you look who the Patriots played, they
- 26:02Speaker 1: played the Jets with Brady Cook and they play the
- 26:04Speaker 1: Dolphins with Quinn Yuler's right. However, they can get to
- 26:08Speaker 1: the two if the Patriots win both those games and
- 26:11Speaker 1: the Broncos lose one of their final two games, and
- 26:14Speaker 1: the Jaguars win both of them. Right. In other words,
- 26:16Speaker 1: if they have the same record, if they're both thirteen
- 26:18Speaker 1: and four, the Jaguars could have number two, which would
- 26:21Speaker 1: have them home for the wild card and the division.
- 26:27Speaker 6: Potentially home if it's something false, if the.
- 26:30Speaker 5: One would lose, in that case, you could have three
- 26:33Speaker 5: home games.
- 26:33Speaker 6: Here, I believe.
- 26:35Speaker 4: So that's another scenario for people to pay attention to, right,
- 26:37Speaker 4: because when I'm looking at this playoff picture, there's so
- 26:40Speaker 4: much parody there.
- 26:40Speaker 3: I wouldn't be surprised if.
- 26:42Speaker 4: Any low seed upsets a higher seed at any point
- 26:45Speaker 4: so that's where I think multiple home games is definitely possibility.
- 26:48Speaker 5: It felt like the shot for New England to lose
- 26:51Speaker 5: another one was Sunday against Baltimore. Yeah, but again we
- 26:56Speaker 5: all would have assumed that, and Houston almost lost.
- 27:01Speaker 1: I was just about to say to Vegas, so.
- 27:05Speaker 5: Never think that weirdness can't happen in the n of season.
- 27:08Speaker 5: That's why again getting in get in right, because it's
- 27:13Speaker 5: professional football.
- 27:14Speaker 4: And the Jaguars have been a part of it on
- 27:15Speaker 4: the other end, spoiling seasons and so many years when
- 27:18Speaker 4: they were out of it, so we know what that
- 27:20Speaker 4: can be. Can never underestimate your opponent. Say, let's well
- 27:23Speaker 4: tell you what's coming up the rest of the week.
- 27:25Speaker 4: Here jagg Man brought to you by Hyundai, right here
- 27:37Speaker 4: in the Hondai studios.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Again quarterback.
- 27:45Speaker 9: Unbelievable, Parker washing Ticketstorian job.
- 27:55Speaker 1: So proud of you.
- 27:56Speaker 6: I love you, guys.
- 27:58Speaker 9: The job's not even completely even close, ain't even close,
- 28:03Speaker 9: not even close.
- 28:05Speaker 2: Okay, but that's one more man, that's eleven.
- 28:08Speaker 1: That's eleven, all right.
- 28:10Speaker 9: But we're just a small market team.
- 28:26Speaker 1: The legend of Liam, the way that he stirred him.
- 28:28Speaker 4: Up, absolutely Parker Washington. We love a Parker Washington shouda.
- 28:32Speaker 4: I think I think I still say it like Liam.
- 28:33Speaker 4: Sometimes I'm just like Parker wash She.
- 28:37Speaker 3: He's gonna be with us. I think tonight for.
- 28:39Speaker 4: All access actually at the beach at Strings, So if
- 28:41Speaker 4: anybody wants to come down to that little pre Christmas edition,
- 28:44Speaker 4: because we're having that tonight on Tuesday, and uh, the
- 28:48Speaker 4: team will be practicing tomorrow limited and then they've all
- 28:53Speaker 4: died the schedule a little bit for the holiday, but
- 28:54Speaker 4: they will still be here all week preparing very much
- 28:57Speaker 4: to head on the road to take on the Cold Twitch.
- 28:59Speaker 4: We're not gonna be with you as the rest of
- 29:00Speaker 4: the week, but that's gonna be a big game in
- 29:01Speaker 4: it of itself. We know they lost on Monday Night football,
- 29:04Speaker 4: but as we discussed, anything can happen, and it's a
- 29:06Speaker 4: divisional game.
- 29:07Speaker 1: Well that's the thing. It's a divisional game. They know
- 29:09Speaker 1: you very well. They recall what happened to them when
- 29:11Speaker 1: they were here a couple of weeks ago. Their offense
- 29:15Speaker 1: doesn't really frighten me because if you take away Jonathan
- 29:18Speaker 1: Taylor and put it on what do we know, it's
- 29:21Speaker 1: gonna be a forty four year old quarterback or is
- 29:22Speaker 1: it going to be Riley Leonard. I mean it's but
- 29:24Speaker 1: their defense, well, listen, it's a divisional game. They've got
- 29:27Speaker 1: some players that can wreck your season. You know what
- 29:30Speaker 1: you've got in front of you if you're not careful and.
- 29:33Speaker 6: They're playing hard.
- 29:34Speaker 5: I mean, the last two weeks they've taken the Seahawks
- 29:37Speaker 5: and the forty nine ers, who may be two of
- 29:39Speaker 5: the best five teams in the NFL, and give them
- 29:42Speaker 5: all they wanted. There's a chance they're still in it technically,
- 29:46Speaker 5: but they still feel like they're in it spiritually or whatever.
- 29:51Speaker 6: As long as they're playing hard, they're dangerous.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Well, I guess actually clarify what I mean. What they
- 29:55Speaker 1: can take away from you is your chance at the
- 29:56Speaker 1: number two, right or even the number one, And that
- 29:59Speaker 1: is it's so important for the Jaguars to still be
- 30:02Speaker 1: lasered in on what they can do and see if
- 30:05Speaker 1: things fall their way. You don't want to slip up
- 30:07Speaker 1: against the Colts to cost you a chance at the
- 30:10Speaker 1: home games. And Duval counting, yes.
- 30:11Speaker 5: Well, if the Texans win of Ust, the Colts could
- 30:13Speaker 5: cause us a dish. So I don't think focus will
- 30:17Speaker 5: be an issue.
- 30:18Speaker 4: Even with Krima right, Lillam says we're not done yet.
- 30:21Speaker 4: We certainly are not. We're going to take a Christmas
- 30:23Speaker 4: break here.
- 30:24Speaker 3: On jag Zam.
- 30:24Speaker 4: We hope you enjoy the holidays with your friends and
- 30:27Speaker 4: family and enjoy this weekend's game. We'll be back with
- 30:29Speaker 4: you on Monday. Right and early on jag Zam, we
- 30:32Speaker 4: talked about it.
