Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: I need to tell you two things.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Cubby and Christine's.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Two pretty cool things.
- 0:07Speaker 2: I have a reason for you to skip the elevator, Christine.
- 0:10Speaker 2: An analysis involving more than 480,000 people found that people
- 0:14Speaker 2: who regularly climb stairs had a 39% lower risk of
- 0:17Speaker 2: dying from heart disease and a 24% lower risk of
- 0:20Speaker 2: dying from any cause compared with people who didn't climb stairs.
- 0:25Speaker 2: Stair climbers, yes.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Are you saying every morning we're going up the stairs?
- 0:30Speaker 2: Yes. I think it's good for us.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Let's do it.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Stair climbers were also less likely to suffer a heart attack, stroke,
- 0:37Speaker 2: or heart failure. One of the studies suggested about six
- 0:40Speaker 2: flights of stairs a day that works out to roughly
- 0:42Speaker 2: 60 to 90 stair steps a day may provide the
- 0:46Speaker 2: biggest benefit, but even smaller amounts appear to help. And
- 0:49Speaker 2: the findings don't prove that stairs alone are responsible for
- 0:52Speaker 2: a longer life, but climbing them is an easy, free
- 0:54Speaker 2: way to sneak some cardio and strength exercise into your day,
- 0:58Speaker 2: no gym required.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Okay.
- 0:59Speaker 2: And we just got a new routine walking into work
- 1:02Speaker 2: that requires stairs or an elevator.
- 1:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:06Speaker 2: I'm thinking stairs. Okay. We'll be on Light FM till
- 1:09Speaker 2: we're 120.
- 1:09Speaker 1: That's okay. Yes.
- 1:11Speaker 2: I know the study says you're not necessarily going to
- 1:13Speaker 2: live that long, but it can't hurt, right?
- 1:15Speaker 1: I climb a lot of stairs at home too, so yeah, 150. Yeah,
- 1:19Speaker 1: let's go.
- 1:19Speaker 2: All right. What do you have as a cool thing?
- 1:21Speaker 1: There are so many beautiful tributes coming in for Dolly
- 1:23Speaker 1: Parton Cubby because so many of her friends are very
- 1:25Speaker 1: upset by the news of losing her. The buildings in
- 1:30Speaker 1: the state were lit up in pink last night.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Across the state.
- 1:32Speaker 1: I heard about that. Yeah. But AMC Theaters is hosting
- 1:36Speaker 1: a special memorial film retrospective featuring Steel Magnolias and The
- 1:40Speaker 1: Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. And they're doing that this weekend. Today,
- 1:44Speaker 1: August 28th through September 2nd. They're going to run some
- 1:48Speaker 1: matinees of both showings. And I'm looking. It's in our area.
- 1:52Speaker 1: It's in the tri-state area. So if you want to
- 1:54Speaker 1: see Dolly as an actress and she also sings, you know,
- 1:57Speaker 1: I Will Always Love You is featured in the film.
- 1:59Speaker 2: I love the movies you mentioned. What was that second
- 2:01Speaker 2: one again?
- 2:01Speaker 1: Yeah, that one.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Best Little Whorehouse?
- 2:04Speaker 1: In Texas.
- 2:05Speaker 2: That was a good one.
- 2:05Speaker 1: That's where she sings I Will Always Love You.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Yeah. And then, of course, Whitney redid it in the 90s.
- 2:11Speaker 2: But Dolly was the OG on that song.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Yes, that was her song.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Light FM. Right.
