- 0:03Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:06Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:10Speaker 1: Amy Torber and coming up on today's show, brand Beckham
- 0:14Speaker 1: implodes as Brooklyn dishes the dirt on his own parents
- 0:17Speaker 1: and Matt Zukowski reveals the truth about his three-month marriage.
- 0:21Speaker 1: But first, I feel like I'm 16 again because Hilary
- 0:24Speaker 1: Duff is finally back performing a We were watching so
- 0:28Speaker 1: many TikToks of her at our family dinner. I think
- 0:30Speaker 1: everyone was getting annoyed and were like, just shut up
- 0:33Speaker 1: about Hillary. There was someone in our Facebook group who
- 0:36Speaker 1: did a welfare check asking if we were okay because
- 0:38Speaker 1: it has been a massive week in pop culture, particularly
- 0:42Speaker 1: our Queen Hilary Duff being back. It's hard to believe
- 0:44Speaker 1: it's been over 10 years since she's performed live because
- 0:47Speaker 1: she was on point. I was frothing all of the
- 0:50Speaker 1: video clips. I'm like, she better come to Adelaide. I mean,
- 0:52Speaker 1: in saying that, I definitely will travel to the Eastern
- 0:54Speaker 1: States if she appears there. And these live shows have
- 0:57Speaker 1: been part of this series of limited intimate concerts called
- 1:00Speaker 1: Small Room Big Nerves Tour. And I think their marketing
- 1:03Speaker 1: is absolutely genius because she has created such a buzz.
- 1:07Speaker 1: There's this scarcity around tickets. So everyone feels like they're
- 1:10Speaker 1: missing out on going. And I think when her album
- 1:12Speaker 1: drops in February, she's going to release a worldwide tour. Kate,
- 1:16Speaker 1: you kept mentioning that this was a live concert. When
- 1:18Speaker 1: I first saw the clips of Hillary singing, I was like,
- 1:21Speaker 1: oh my God, she sounds amazing. Is she lip syncing?
- 1:25Speaker 1: But I've looked into it and I've watched closely a
- 1:27Speaker 1: lot of the videos and it does appear that she
- 1:29Speaker 1: is actually singing live. And I saw her voice coach,
- 1:32Speaker 1: write down in one of the comments under one of
- 1:34Speaker 1: the videos saying, we've worked so hard to get to
- 1:37Speaker 1: this point because she sounded incredible. I know she's copped
- 1:40Speaker 1: a lot of stick in the past, people saying, oh,
- 1:42Speaker 1: she can't actually sing, it's all auto-tune. But you can
- 1:45Speaker 1: tell she's gone away and she's really worked on her voice.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Yesterday my life was stolen It's interesting because it was
- 2:07Speaker 1: the first time ever she's actually performed What Dreams Are
- 2:10Speaker 1: Made Of live. So that was because Disney had all
- 2:13Speaker 1: these stipulations around it because it was in the Lizzie
- 2:15Speaker 1: McGuire movie. I love that Hilary didn't take herself too
- 2:17Speaker 1: seriously and was able to pay herself out because I
- 2:20Speaker 1: think everyone has seen that viral clip of her from
- 2:23Speaker 1: Good Morning America. It was from like 15 years ago
- 2:25Speaker 1: where she's dancing and she's giving it absolutely nothing. It
- 2:28Speaker 1: looks like she can't be bothered to be on stage
- 2:30Speaker 1: and she ended up getting some of her fans up
- 2:32Speaker 1: to do this dance with her and it was absolutely hilarious.
- 2:42Speaker 1: And the best thing is her new music is really good.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Like I can see Roommates being a real hit on
- 2:47Speaker 1: the radio. I couldn't help but think about her children
- 2:49Speaker 1: having to hear some of the lyrics though. Oh yeah,
- 2:51Speaker 1: it was something about touching herself listening to porn. And
- 2:54Speaker 1: I was like, God, her son, is her son like
- 2:56Speaker 1: 16 or something? He's probably getting so much flack at
- 2:59Speaker 1: school about it. There's also an oral sex reference in
- 3:01Speaker 1: there that they've put on a billboard to promote the album.
- 3:04Speaker 1: So I mean, I'm sure a lot of men have
- 3:06Speaker 1: those sorts of lyrics and everyone's like thinking of their children.
- 3:09Speaker 1: It's fine. I just need to keep remembering that all
- 3:10Speaker 1: of her audience is now late 30s. It just seems
- 3:13Speaker 1: like she's still away from the squeaky clean Disney girl.
- 3:17Speaker 1: That's why it's just funny. Well, it actually seems like
- 3:18Speaker 1: she's had some control over the lyrics and she's been
- 3:21Speaker 1: working with her husband, Matthew Cormer, and I really love
- 3:24Speaker 1: her husband because he's her biggest hype girl. Yeah, he
- 3:27Speaker 1: seems to be in awe of her, which I completely understand.
- 3:29Speaker 1: She has three more shows coming up. The next is
- 3:32Speaker 1: over the weekend in Toronto. and then in Brooklyn and
- 3:35Speaker 1: LA in the next couple of weeks coming up. So
- 3:37Speaker 1: we should be seeing a lot more Hilary content over
- 3:40Speaker 1: our TikTok feeds, which I'm a huge fan of. I
- 3:42Speaker 1: want to start a petition to get Hilary Duff on
- 3:44Speaker 1: the podcast. Oh my God, wouldn't that be absolutely incredible?
- 3:47Speaker 1: Because we have met her back in the day when
- 3:49Speaker 1: we were 17. I think I barely managed to utter
- 3:52Speaker 1: a word to her. Hopefully now I might be able
- 3:55Speaker 1: to string a sentence together. Let us know if you
- 3:57Speaker 1: want us to share the photo. It is pretty embarrassing.
- 3:59Speaker 2: No way.
- 4:00Speaker 1: No, I'm putting it out there. I'm putting it out there. Actually,
- 4:03Speaker 1: if listeners rally behind us to get Hilary Duff on
- 4:05Speaker 1: the show, we'll get a new photo and put the
- 4:08Speaker 1: other one next to it. Yeah, start sliding into her
- 4:09Speaker 1: DM saying you have to go on the Outspoken podcast.
- 4:13Speaker 3: It was pear-shaped before.
- 4:15Speaker 1: The worst kept secret of 2026 is out. Matt Zukowski
- 4:19Speaker 1: has made his way into the I'm a Celeb jungle
- 4:22Speaker 1: off the back of his high-profile divorce from Tammy Hembrough.
- 4:25Speaker 1: The podcaster didn't wait long to drop his famous ex's name,
- 4:29Speaker 1: using his time in the spotlight to share his side
- 4:32Speaker 1: of the story. Now, Soph, it's clear that Network 10
- 4:35Speaker 1: sees Matt as a drawcard for viewers. Yeah, they know
- 4:37Speaker 1: that young people are going to tune in in the
- 4:39Speaker 1: hope of Matt airing his side of this divorce because
- 4:43Speaker 1: up until now, both parties have remained pretty tight-lipped. So
- 4:47Speaker 1: there is still a lot of intrigue around what actually
- 4:50Speaker 1: went down. And the producers ended up leaving Matt and
- 4:53Speaker 1: fellow contestant Cyclone Cyrel as the final celebrity reveals. And
- 4:58Speaker 1: Matt did not hold back in his teaser clip, painting
- 5:01Speaker 1: a very unflattering depiction of his marriage to Tammy Hembrough
- 5:05Speaker 1: straight off the bat. Let's take a listen to what
- 5:08Speaker 1: he said.
- 5:08Speaker 3: I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous
- 5:11Speaker 3: about going in there, but I just got out of
- 5:13Speaker 3: a pretty scary marriage, so how scary can this actually be?
- 5:17Speaker 1: The fact he said scary marriage and said that I
- 5:19Speaker 1: got out of... That is putting all the blame on Tammy.
- 5:22Speaker 1: I think he was very deliberate in his use of
- 5:25Speaker 1: the word scary as well. And if I was Tammy,
- 5:28Speaker 1: I would be getting very nervous about what he is
- 5:31Speaker 1: actually going to reveal on the show because when celebrities
- 5:35Speaker 1: get asked to go on the show, and I do
- 5:36Speaker 1: use the term celebrities quite loosely because I don't know
- 5:40Speaker 1: a lot of these contestants, but usually they are invited
- 5:43Speaker 1: on because They give them an opportunity to reshape a
- 5:46Speaker 1: narrative that's been built about them or to share a
- 5:49Speaker 1: personal story that they've never told before. And in this case,
- 5:53Speaker 1: when Tammy and Matt's divorce broke, a lot of Matt's
- 5:57Speaker 1: friends were sliding into influencer watchdog accounts, including our own
- 6:00Speaker 1: page and shopping around some quite troubling stories about why
- 6:05Speaker 1: the couple broke up. And for legal reasons, as we've
- 6:08Speaker 1: mentioned before, we aren't going to share Matt's friends' claims,
- 6:11Speaker 1: but It seems like Matt is appearing on the show
- 6:14Speaker 1: to tell his side of the divorce and to change
- 6:16Speaker 1: the public's perception of him. And by using the word scary,
- 6:20Speaker 1: there's almost like a threat there that there's a scary
- 6:22Speaker 1: situation involved. The thing is, though, Channel 10 wouldn't be
- 6:26Speaker 1: able to air the claims that Matt's friends were sliding
- 6:29Speaker 1: into our DMs with. But I suppose that's probably why
- 6:32Speaker 1: they allowed the word scary, because it paints a picture
- 6:34Speaker 1: without actually saying that much. And I think like he
- 6:37Speaker 1: has done on his podcast, he will continue speaking in
- 6:41Speaker 1: riddles about the relationship, which is probably how Channel 10
- 6:44Speaker 1: can get around it because the state that the network
- 6:47Speaker 1: is in, they can't afford to be sued by Tammy Hembrough.
- 6:49Speaker 1: It's interesting off the bat that Channel 10 have been
- 6:52Speaker 1: referring to him as the reality bad boy, because I
- 6:55Speaker 1: know he was on Love Island and he was a
- 6:57Speaker 1: bit of a wanker, but I thought that maybe they
- 6:59Speaker 1: would have sold it to him as like, this is
- 7:01Speaker 1: your big chance to change the way people perceive you.
- 7:05Speaker 1: But labelling him as a bad boy, he wouldn't be
- 7:07Speaker 1: keen on that. Yeah, but they're providing him a redemption
- 7:09Speaker 1: arc by initially referring to him as a bad boy.
- 7:12Speaker 1: So they're giving him the opportunity to change the public's
- 7:14Speaker 1: opinion on the show. Well, it's pretty funny because on
- 7:16Speaker 1: the show, they actually often have a little super that
- 7:19Speaker 1: comes up with the contestant's name and who they are
- 7:22Speaker 1: essentially under it because everyone's clueless. And during the second
- 7:26Speaker 1: episode he was on, it said reality hunk. So they've
- 7:29Speaker 1: already changed the narrative there. Well, it's interesting because you know,
- 7:33Speaker 1: the narrative about Matt throughout his relationship with Tammy is
- 7:36Speaker 1: that he was a bit of a dirty dog and
- 7:37Speaker 1: he was talking to other girls behind her back. Is
- 7:40Speaker 1: that going to be the next super that pops up, Matt?
- 7:43Speaker 1: Dirty dog. But the thing is, it sounds like from
- 7:45Speaker 1: all reports that both parties played a pretty big role
- 7:48Speaker 1: in this turbulent relationship coming to an end. I think
- 7:52Speaker 1: that he is going to have a bit of a
- 7:53Speaker 1: redemption arc because months ago, friend of the podcast, Amber
- 7:57Speaker 1: from Influencer Updates, She shared a rumor that Matt would
- 8:00Speaker 1: be appearing on the show and the anonymous user said
- 8:03Speaker 1: that they actually overheard Matt talking at a pub about
- 8:07Speaker 1: the show and how he made it into the finale.
- 8:09Speaker 1: To me, this indicates that the show is going to
- 8:11Speaker 1: paint him in a favorable way and he's been able
- 8:14Speaker 1: to win over his fellow contestants. Well, we saw a
- 8:16Speaker 1: similar thing with Sky Wheatley. So she went onto the
- 8:19Speaker 1: show as a bit of a controversial influencer with a
- 8:21Speaker 1: string of scandals behind her, but the public loved her.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Her fellow contestants loved her and she ended up winning
- 8:26Speaker 1: the show. It's going to be interesting because It's the
- 8:29Speaker 1: first time since COVID that this show has been pre-recorded.
- 8:33Speaker 1: So we're only finding out now when the episodes drop
- 8:36Speaker 1: how the public are actually going to start perceiving him.
- 8:40Speaker 1: According to Women's Day, this season was actually recorded in
- 8:42Speaker 1: November and production wrapped before Christmas. So a production insider
- 8:47Speaker 1: told the publication, it's a bubble. Phones are gone, they're
- 8:50Speaker 1: under strict contracts and they're surrounded by a crew that
- 8:53Speaker 1: can swell to several hundreds of people when you include
- 8:56Speaker 1: camera operators, medics and security. The insider also said that
- 9:00Speaker 1: the pre-recorded format allows 10 to work on the episodes more,
- 9:04Speaker 1: adding that the extra time has paid off. What does
- 9:07Speaker 1: that mean? Massaging the storylines and obviously creating redemption arcs and,
- 9:11Speaker 1: you know, telling the story that they want, essentially. Does
- 9:13Speaker 1: this mean if they get a panicked call from the
- 9:15Speaker 1: Hembros being like, we're going to fucking sue you if
- 9:17Speaker 1: you say anything, they're like, shit, we can edit this out.
- 9:20Speaker 1: We can edit it. Probably. Also, do you think it's
- 9:22Speaker 1: a chance to play on how the public perceive the contestants?
- 9:25Speaker 1: So maybe they're looking at social media reactions and going, oh,
- 9:29Speaker 1: we need to put more of this person on because
- 9:31Speaker 1: the public are loving them. There's also been a lot
- 9:33Speaker 1: of confusion about how the winner is going to be
- 9:35Speaker 1: selected because it is by a public vote. And this
- 9:38Speaker 1: insider revealed that it is still Australia who chooses the winner,
- 9:42Speaker 1: saying that multiple endings have been pre-recorded, which will then
- 9:45Speaker 1: match up with whoever the public vote for. How awkward
- 9:48Speaker 1: would that be having to pretend that you won?
- 9:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Doing the reaction. We That happens every year with MasterChef
- 9:55Speaker 1: so the winner doesn't get leaked. That kind of ruins
- 9:57Speaker 1: it a little bit. I think we really need to
- 9:58Speaker 1: get into the episodes. aired on Tuesday night. A listener
- 10:01Speaker 1: suggested that we should have had a watch party for it.
- 10:05Speaker 1: And I really liked that idea, but I thought it
- 10:07Speaker 1: would be best if we saved our thoughts for now.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I would have loved to have done a Gogglebox style
- 10:11Speaker 1: reaction to this. We've joked in the past that we
- 10:13Speaker 1: should create our own YouTube show called Vlogglebox where we
- 10:16Speaker 1: watch vlogs, but I'm excited to talk to you guys
- 10:19Speaker 1: now about it at least. I mean, what were your
- 10:20Speaker 1: thoughts on Matt? How do you think he came across initially? Well,
- 10:23Speaker 1: it seemed like the whole first episode was really centered
- 10:26Speaker 1: around Matt and it seemed like all of the contestants
- 10:28Speaker 1: had been told to ask him a lot of questions.
- 10:30Speaker 1: So contestant Nath Valvo, who is a comedian from the
- 10:34Speaker 1: Cheap Seats, was talking about how his life tip is
- 10:37Speaker 1: to marry someone who is the complete opposite of you.
- 10:40Speaker 1: And this was the perfect segue for Matt to drop
- 10:43Speaker 1: that he had an ex-wife. And the conversation quickly turned
- 10:46Speaker 1: to children. And Nath asked if Matt wanted a family
- 10:50Speaker 1: or kids someday. And he replied very nonchalantly saying, I
- 10:54Speaker 1: can't have kids, I shoot blanks, which I shouldn't laugh
- 10:57Speaker 1: because it's actually so brave of him to open up
- 10:59Speaker 1: about his fertility. But just the way he said it,
- 11:01Speaker 1: just off the bat, oh my buddy, I shoot blanks. Like, See,
- 11:05Speaker 1: I actually thought he was quite uncomfortable about it. He
- 11:07Speaker 1: kind of wriggled around nervously as he said it. I mean,
- 11:10Speaker 1: I know he shared it publicly on his podcast before,
- 11:12Speaker 1: but this is a whole new level of audience that
- 11:14Speaker 1: he is opening himself up to. I almost got the
- 11:16Speaker 1: vibe that he almost expected everyone there to already know
- 11:19Speaker 1: that about him. As in, you know, how do you
- 11:22Speaker 1: not know this about me already? I'm a pretty big deal. Well,
- 11:24Speaker 1: Denny Hines clearly had no clue who he was and
- 11:27Speaker 1: she was amazing. She did the Lord's work because she
- 11:30Speaker 1: fired all these hard hitting questions at him. So She
- 11:33Speaker 1: said to Matt that he can always try IVF if
- 11:35Speaker 1: he wants to have a baby one day. And this
- 11:37Speaker 1: is when Matt dropped Tammy's name. Let's take a listen.
- 11:41Speaker 2: So my ex-wife, we did like- Ex-wife, excuse me.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Would you like to rewind on that one?
- 11:45Speaker 2: So I mean, like we were trying to like, we
- 11:49Speaker 2: were figuring it out. Like we had a call on that.
- 11:51Speaker 1: When I heard this, I was like, oh my gosh,
- 11:53Speaker 1: is he dropping a bomb that they were trying for
- 11:55Speaker 1: a child? But then I remembered that when Tammy appeared
- 11:58Speaker 1: on his podcast ahead of their wedding, she They touched
- 12:01Speaker 1: on the fact that they would like to have a
- 12:03Speaker 1: child of their own and they were open to investigating
- 12:05Speaker 1: every avenue. Well, he also spoke about it on his
- 12:08Speaker 1: controversial inherited interview. And it's pretty interesting because that episode
- 12:12Speaker 1: dropped in May, but Matt revealed on I'm a Celeb
- 12:16Speaker 1: that the couple actually were only married for three months.
- 12:19Speaker 1: So potentially he and Tammy were broken up when he
- 12:22Speaker 1: recorded that interview. Well, it's interesting because during this segment
- 12:26Speaker 1: on I'm a Celeb, he did say, oh, well, publicly
- 12:29Speaker 1: it was seven months. that we were married, but in reality,
- 12:32Speaker 1: it was only three months. And it was quite funny
- 12:34Speaker 1: because Barry Williams, who played Greg Brady in the Brady Bunch,
- 12:38Speaker 1: joked that by Hollywood standards, that was quite good to
- 12:40Speaker 1: reach three months. I love how there was a bit
- 12:42Speaker 1: of confusion around who Tammy Hembrough was and people had
- 12:45Speaker 1: to explain. And then Mia Favola was like, nah, I'm
- 12:48Speaker 1: all across that. She went and told the camera that
- 12:51Speaker 1: she hasn't got a clue a lot of the time
- 12:53Speaker 1: the actors and movies from the 90s that a lot
- 12:56Speaker 1: of the cast were referencing, but she's like, this, I know.
- 12:59Speaker 1: It was clear that Denny Hines had absolutely no idea
- 13:01Speaker 1: who Tammy Hembrough was as well. And when she got
- 13:04Speaker 1: Matt alone, she asked him to tell her more about
- 13:07Speaker 1: this three-month marriage, admitting that she was very intrigued. Do
- 13:10Speaker 1: you think the producers told her to ask more questions?
- 13:12Speaker 1: Because you know, it was coming from this person that
- 13:15Speaker 1: didn't really know much about him, didn't know who Tammy
- 13:17Speaker 1: Hembrough was. It all seemed quite innocent. Oh, 100%. They
- 13:21Speaker 1: would have been in her ear saying, hey, could you
- 13:22Speaker 1: ask him X, Y, and Z? It was pretty funny
- 13:25Speaker 1: because she was like, how did this relationship even start? Like,
- 13:28Speaker 1: I got the feeling that she seemed to think that
- 13:31Speaker 1: Matt was being scammed on the internet or something because
- 13:34Speaker 1: he said, oh yeah, I slid into her DMs. And
- 13:36Speaker 1: then I asked if she wanted to attend my podcast
- 13:38Speaker 1: live show. And Denny was like, oh, so did you
- 13:41Speaker 1: know her before you messaged her on Instagram? And Matt
- 13:43Speaker 1: was like, oh no. To be fair, there's a lot
- 13:45Speaker 1: of catfish pretending to be Tammy Hembrough. I mean, Tammy
- 13:48Speaker 1: Hembrough has referenced them in a podcast interview with Jade
- 13:51Speaker 1: Tunchi saying that she's well aware. that this man is
- 13:54Speaker 1: getting scammed. Yeah, and they all keep commenting on our
- 13:55Speaker 1: posts now. I saw someone, one of the listeners commenting, like, mate,
- 13:59Speaker 1: this is the wrong post. Like, this isn't Tammy. Maybe
- 14:01Speaker 1: Denny has heard of these scams before because she was like,
- 14:04Speaker 1: and what made you think that you were going to
- 14:06Speaker 1: have a relationship with someone that you met off the internet?
- 14:08Speaker 1: And he was like, oh, Denny, that's sort of how
- 14:10Speaker 1: relationships start these days. I mean, has she been living
- 14:14Speaker 1: under a rock? Has she never heard of dating apps before? Yeah. Well,
- 14:17Speaker 1: she ended up asking him what happened during the marriage
- 14:20Speaker 1: for things to end so abruptly. Let's take a listen
- 14:23Speaker 1: to what they said.
- 14:24Speaker 3: It was pear-shaped before.
- 14:26Speaker 2: I was very much convinced that things would get better
- 14:31Speaker 2: once we were married and things would change and it
- 14:35Speaker 2: actually got a lot worse.
- 14:37Speaker 1: It's interesting because from what he says, it seems like
- 14:39Speaker 1: he believes that he is the victim in this relationship
- 14:43Speaker 1: and he was sort of just going along for the
- 14:45Speaker 1: ride and Almost as if, you know, he was this young,
- 14:49Speaker 1: impressionable guy that was being misled by this powerful, rich influencer. Well,
- 14:55Speaker 1: he's almost alluding that there was bad behavior on Tammy's
- 14:57Speaker 1: end and she did a lot of convincing that I
- 14:59Speaker 1: won't behave in that way. Once we're married, it's all
- 15:01Speaker 1: going to change. I mean, it's very against what came
- 15:04Speaker 1: out publicly and what he addressed on his podcast when
- 15:06Speaker 1: there was that whole Grand Prix cheating scandal. I mean,
- 15:09Speaker 1: I think it's almost worse when you're talking riddles because
- 15:12Speaker 1: then people are you know, paint up all these different
- 15:14Speaker 1: scenarios that might not be true. But maybe, as you said,
- 15:17Speaker 1: he has to talk in riddles because, you know, the
- 15:19Speaker 1: rumours that they've been shopping around, you could hardly go
- 15:22Speaker 1: on national TV and start saying those as facts.
- 15:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:25Speaker 1: It was pretty funny because Denny told Matt that he
- 15:27Speaker 1: needs to stop thinking with his dick and start thinking
- 15:30Speaker 1: with his head and asked him if he wanted to
- 15:32Speaker 1: get married one day. And he said, yeah, I think so.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Matt then told the diary room camera this.
- 15:39Speaker 2: I did love my ex-wife and I did do it
- 15:41Speaker 2: out of hope that we could work on things and
- 15:44Speaker 2: make it work. I gave it my all to try
- 15:48Speaker 2: to make that work. I definitely did. I lost a
- 15:51Speaker 2: lot of myself in that relationship.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I saw this hilarious TikTok that was saying, did you
- 15:57Speaker 1: really try and give it your all? I mean, your
- 15:59Speaker 1: marriage lasted for three months. I don't think there was
- 16:01Speaker 1: much effort going in. I mean, I was the researcher
- 16:04Speaker 1: behind our five-part Tammy Hembrough series. And to be fair
- 16:09Speaker 1: to Matt, it seems like a lot of the drama
- 16:12Speaker 1: went on before the wedding. It wasn't just like, oh,
- 16:15Speaker 1: they were so happy before the wedding and suddenly it
- 16:17Speaker 1: all crumbled. I mean, clearly they shouldn't have gotten married,
- 16:20Speaker 1: but they did. He said it was pear-shaped before the wedding.
- 16:22Speaker 1: It's a bit like Olivia Rogers' short marriage to Justin McKean.
- 16:25Speaker 1: It almost felt like that wedding went ahead because of
- 16:28Speaker 1: the pressure from social media. And I wonder if it
- 16:31Speaker 1: was the same with Tammy and Matt. There were probably
- 16:33Speaker 1: heaps of times where they could have called it off,
- 16:35Speaker 1: but they would have been really embarrassed. Well, it's also
- 16:37Speaker 1: because they wanted to prove their family wrong. It was
- 16:40Speaker 1: sort of like, we'll show them. Now, I'm a Celeb
- 16:42Speaker 1: ended up sharing a snippet of this conversation to their
- 16:45Speaker 1: Instagram account, and it went absolutely viral. At the time
- 16:49Speaker 1: of recording, it's had over 200,000 views and 1,400 send-ons.
- 16:54Speaker 1: One person in the comment section wrote, let's be honest,
- 16:56Speaker 1: he wouldn't have even got the spot on I'm a
- 16:58Speaker 1: Celebrity if he didn't marry Tammy in the first place.
- 17:01Speaker 1: But this is what happens when you meet someone on
- 17:03Speaker 1: socials and propose three months later. Another said, his ex
- 17:07Speaker 1: is why he's on the show, Denny. Whilst another said,
- 17:10Speaker 1: not disrespectful, disclosing their private life with a smile. He's
- 17:14Speaker 1: seeking fame. She has young children. Think of them, not
- 17:17Speaker 1: you on national TV. Disgusting. Do you think that Channel
- 17:21Speaker 1: 10 tried to get Tammy on the show first and
- 17:23Speaker 1: she declined or her figure was just too large to appear?
- 17:26Speaker 1: Because she is appearing as a contestant on Channel 9's
- 17:29Speaker 1: show Shark. which I doubt will be as popular as
- 17:32Speaker 1: this show. Well, potentially she could have a multi-deal show
- 17:35Speaker 1: with Channel 9, which means that she can't appear on
- 17:37Speaker 1: I'm a Celeb. I mean, I think the producers would
- 17:39Speaker 1: have way rather had her on there than Matt. Well,
- 17:42Speaker 1: there are reports that Rachel Hunter, she's probably the most
- 17:45Speaker 1: well-known person in I'm a Celeb. She's apparently getting around
- 17:50Speaker 1: $ 140, 000 to $ 170, 000 for her appearance on the show. So
- 17:53Speaker 1: Channel 10 probably just didn't have enough in the kitty
- 17:55Speaker 1: left to pay Tammy and thought, We could get Matt
- 17:57Speaker 1: for cheap and the same viewers will tune in to
- 18:00Speaker 1: hear all the goss. Well, they've also got Robert Irwin
- 18:02Speaker 1: whose star is just on the absolute rise at the
- 18:05Speaker 1: moment as the host and, you know, his paycheck's probably
- 18:08Speaker 1: gone up. I think Channel 10 needs to get Tammy
- 18:11Speaker 1: on as the next Bachelorette and that's how they'll bring
- 18:14Speaker 1: the show back. That would be a good revival but
- 18:16Speaker 1: I feel like the tide is turning on Tammy because
- 18:19Speaker 1: this week she posted a story which was really a
- 18:22Speaker 1: subtle dig at Matt and and obviously came off the
- 18:25Speaker 1: back of his appearance on I'm a Celeb. So on
- 18:27Speaker 1: her Instagram stories, she revealed that she was finally getting
- 18:30Speaker 1: her wedding date lasered off her as well as her
- 18:33Speaker 1: matte tattoo. Let's take a listen to what she said.
- 18:36Speaker 4: So my tattoos that I'm getting removed are my wedding date.
- 18:41Speaker 4: No surprise there that I don't really need that one anymore.
- 18:46Speaker 4: And then I have my ex's name down on my hip,
- 18:51Speaker 4: which I also don't need that one.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Now, a lot of people thought it was quite tacky
- 18:56Speaker 1: of Tammy to try and piggyback off Matt's appearance on
- 18:59Speaker 1: I'm a Celebrity. People were like, why are you doing
- 19:01Speaker 1: this now? I mean, we all know Tammy Hembrough is
- 19:03Speaker 1: calculated with what she puts out there. My favorite part
- 19:05Speaker 1: of this whole story is that this was part of
- 19:07Speaker 1: a paid partnership that Tammy had with a numbing cream
- 19:11Speaker 1: called Nummit. And that name will sound familiar because Matt
- 19:15Speaker 1: also had a brand deal with Nummit ahead of their
- 19:17Speaker 1: 2024 wedding. So ironically, in his video, he was using
- 19:22Speaker 1: Numbit Cream to get a tattoo to remember their wedding.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Let's take a listen.
- 19:27Speaker 3: I wanted to get a tattoo to dedicate my love
- 19:29Speaker 3: to my fiance, but the pain I was not about.
- 19:33Speaker 3: I wanted to enjoy this sentimental moment and not think
- 19:36Speaker 3: about the sting of the tattoo. So I have partnered
- 19:39Speaker 3: with Numbit Numbing Cream, which is number one numbing cream
- 19:42Speaker 3: in Australia pharmacies.
- 19:44Speaker 1: It seems like Tammy and Matt never learn because Matt
- 19:47Speaker 1: also used num it to get a tattoo dedicated to
- 19:50Speaker 1: his ex-girlfriend Jen removed from his ass. It's so funny
- 19:54Speaker 1: because a lot of influencers now have to be really
- 19:56Speaker 1: creative in how they weave in ads. I'd love to
- 19:59Speaker 1: be a fly on the wall of all the marketing
- 20:01Speaker 1: chats with Tammy where they're like, yeah, can you just
- 20:02Speaker 1: mention your failed marriage as part of this or just
- 20:04Speaker 1: a little snippet about it? And I'm probably already had
- 20:07Speaker 1: these ads scheduled into their diary going, yeah, that relationship's
- 20:10Speaker 1: going to end. They're going to get shit tattoos. And
- 20:12Speaker 1: here we go. More promotion for us. Well, alongside the
- 20:15Speaker 1: tattoos dedicated to Matt was this other big tattoo that
- 20:18Speaker 1: I didn't even know Tammy had on her side. So
- 20:21Speaker 1: I'm guessing that originally it was like, oh, well, you
- 20:23Speaker 1: can use the number for that tattoo. But she's sort
- 20:25Speaker 1: of gone, oh, actually. I think I'll have a pot
- 20:28Speaker 1: shot at Matt at the same time. Well, talking about
- 20:30Speaker 1: pot shots, Tammy's bestie, Isabel Laws, went into bat for her.
- 20:34Speaker 1: So underneath Matt's I'm a Celeb intro video, she wrote, Confused.
- 20:38Speaker 1: I thought you had to be a celeb to go
- 20:40Speaker 1: on this show. That speaks absolute volumes. It's clear that
- 20:44Speaker 1: Isabel Laws did not have any time for Matt. I mean,
- 20:47Speaker 1: she unfollowed Matt before Tammy actually announced that they were
- 20:51Speaker 1: no longer together. Before we wrap up about Matt, we
- 20:53Speaker 1: have to talk about the challenge that that he did
- 20:56Speaker 1: because it raised a few eyebrows and the podcaster was
- 20:59Speaker 1: accused of fake crying and acting during this challenge. So
- 21:03Speaker 1: he was asked to face his biggest fear, which he
- 21:06Speaker 1: claimed to be heights. And in order to earn food
- 21:09Speaker 1: for the camp, Matt was lifted into the air on
- 21:12Speaker 1: a beam and had to walk across it to collect stars.
- 21:14Speaker 1: That looks so frightening. Like I'm actually legitimately scared of heights.
- 21:18Speaker 1: And I was like, there's no way I could do that.
- 21:20Speaker 1: So the beam gradually kept moving up higher and higher
- 21:22Speaker 1: until it got up to 50 meters. And then Once
- 21:25Speaker 1: it reached 50 meters above the air, he then had
- 21:28Speaker 1: the option of jumping off to collect one final star.
- 21:32Speaker 1: And this is where he broke down in tears. Like
- 21:35Speaker 1: it was funny because they had one of those GoPros
- 21:37Speaker 1: attached to his helmet and the faces that he was
- 21:40Speaker 1: pulling were literally perfect for memes. It was pretty funny.
- 21:44Speaker 1: And people have accused him of faking this and saying
- 21:47Speaker 1: that actually heights isn't his phobia. We actually had a
- 21:50Speaker 1: listener send in a photo of him climbing the Sydney
- 21:53Speaker 1: Harbour Bridge and Which is quite ironic because when he
- 21:57Speaker 1: was asked about his phobia from Rob Irwin, he said,
- 22:01Speaker 1: I don't even go on roller coasters. I don't do anything.
- 22:04Speaker 1: I won't even go out on a balcony of a
- 22:06Speaker 1: hotel room. Like, I just don't like heights. I don't
- 22:09Speaker 1: like them. To be fair, for work, I climbed the
- 22:12Speaker 1: Adelaide Oval. And I'm scared of heights. So I don't know.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Are we picking on him a bit too much? I mean,
- 22:19Speaker 1: it's kind of clever when you think about it. Do
- 22:22Speaker 1: you be honest and say what your actual biggest fear
- 22:24Speaker 1: is and know that this show is going to put
- 22:25Speaker 1: you to the test, particularly when this is a PR
- 22:27Speaker 1: exercise for Matt? He has got a lot riding on this.
- 22:30Speaker 1: He has to look good. Well, that's the thing. People
- 22:32Speaker 1: were saying on Twitter, oh, he's got invisible tears. There's
- 22:35Speaker 1: nothing coming out of his eyes. I think he looked
- 22:38Speaker 1: legitimately shit scared. I think if anything, he would have
- 22:41Speaker 1: been quite embarrassed by how he was reacting to his
- 22:44Speaker 1: fear yeah but I think most of the audience would
- 22:47Speaker 1: be women watching this or families and I think that
- 22:49Speaker 1: they would have a soft spot for Matt for him
- 22:52Speaker 1: showing his emotions like that but what I'm saying is
- 22:54Speaker 1: for him I think he's got a lot of close
- 22:56Speaker 1: mates and those photos would have been doing the rounds
- 22:58Speaker 1: in his group chat like paying the shit out of
- 23:00Speaker 1: him so I don't think that he's like oh I'm
- 23:02Speaker 1: gonna really ham it up I'm gonna cry on this
- 23:04Speaker 1: show so that I can look like a legend and
- 23:07Speaker 1: come back to camp you know winning all of these
- 23:09Speaker 1: meals for everyone I don't think he's actually that calculated.
- 23:14Speaker 5: Brooklyn's wedding was a very special day and their first
- 23:17Speaker 5: dance as a married couple was very, very classy and.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Be honest.
- 23:23Speaker 5: I am being honest.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Be honest.
- 23:25Speaker 5: I am being honest. What did you do during Brooklyn's
- 23:28Speaker 5: first dance at his wedding? So Brooklyn's first dance was... No,
- 23:32Speaker 5: one answer.
- 23:32Speaker 1: All right, well, it's not a simple answer.
- 23:34Speaker 5: What did you do during Brooklyn's first dance?
- 23:36Speaker 1: It depends. No, no, no, no. What did you.
- 23:39Speaker 5: All right, during Brooklyn's first dance at his wedding, I
- 23:41Speaker 5: got on the stage and twerked.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 23:43Speaker 1: The long-rumoured family feud between David and Victoria Beckham and
- 23:47Speaker 1: their eldest son, Brooklyn, has come to a head. Earlier
- 23:50Speaker 1: this week, Brooklyn broke his silence in an 800-word statement
- 23:54Speaker 1: shared to Instagram. In it, he confirmed he was estranged
- 23:57Speaker 1: from his family and has no intentions of reconciling with them.
- 24:01Speaker 1: He also dropped some explosive claims. Now, Kate, before we
- 24:04Speaker 1: get into those, let's get listeners up to speed with
- 24:07Speaker 1: how the Beckhams got to this point. So rumors of
- 24:10Speaker 1: a feud first emerged in the aftermath of Brooklyn's wedding
- 24:13Speaker 1: to Nicola Peltz Beckham. That was back in April 2022.
- 24:16Speaker 1: For those not familiar with Nicola, she is a 31-year-old
- 24:21Speaker 1: American actress who comes from a prominent billionaire family. So
- 24:25Speaker 1: her dad, Nelson, is a businessman and investor who is
- 24:29Speaker 1: a MAGA supporter. So he actually donated to Donald Trump's
- 24:32Speaker 1: campaign in 2020. Now, rumors of a rift first started
- 24:36Speaker 1: when Nicola didn't wear a wedding dress designed by Victoria,
- 24:39Speaker 1: despite early reports that she would. At the time, Page
- 24:43Speaker 1: Six went as far as to report that a Cold
- 24:45Speaker 1: War had erupted between Victoria and Nicola in the lead
- 24:48Speaker 1: up to the wedding. Now, despite this tabloid speculation, Brooklyn
- 24:53Speaker 1: and Nicola continued to appear alongside the rest of the
- 24:55Speaker 1: Beckham family at public events. That was until they were
- 24:59Speaker 1: a no-show at David's 50th birthday celebrations in May last year. Now,
- 25:05Speaker 1: rift rumors intensified further when Brooklyn and Nicola held a
- 25:08Speaker 1: vow renewal ceremony in May last year without the Beckham
- 25:13Speaker 1: family in attendance. There were then reports that Brooklyn sent
- 25:16Speaker 1: his parents a cease and desist style legal letter after
- 25:19Speaker 1: Victoria liked one of his cooking videos on Instagram. Then
- 25:23Speaker 1: in December came the great unfollowing. So super sleuths noticed
- 25:27Speaker 1: that the Beckhams were no longer following Brooklyn and he
- 25:29Speaker 1: was no longer following them. Now, the speculation caused Brooklyn's brother, Cruz,
- 25:34Speaker 1: to address the rumors a few days out from Christmas,
- 25:37Speaker 1: writing on Instagram, Gosh, it's all been brewing for a
- 25:46Speaker 1: while now. We need to get into Brooklyn's statement as
- 25:49Speaker 1: it was absolutely explosive. So he confirmed longstanding speculation that
- 25:54Speaker 1: that the riff was over his relationship with Nicola. He
- 25:57Speaker 1: went as far as saying that his parents tried to
- 25:59Speaker 1: ruin their relationship and consistently disrespected Nicola. Brooklyn also used
- 26:04Speaker 1: this statement to shift the narrative that he's being controlled
- 26:07Speaker 1: by his wife. He wrote, I do not want to
- 26:09Speaker 1: reconcile with my family. I am not being controlled. I'm
- 26:13Speaker 1: standing up for myself for the first time in my life.
- 26:17Speaker 1: I feel like it's fair to say that Nicola has
- 26:19Speaker 1: received somewhat of a Meghan Markle edit the last couple
- 26:21Speaker 1: of years. In fact, this situation seems like a repeat
- 26:25Speaker 1: of what happened with Harry and Meghan back in 2020
- 26:27Speaker 1: when they left the royal family. People have always drawn
- 26:31Speaker 1: parallels between the Beckhams and the royal family before this rift.
- 26:36Speaker 1: I mean, when you think about it, both families have
- 26:38Speaker 1: provided a lot of scandal and entertainment to the UK
- 26:41Speaker 1: public and the world for so many years. So it
- 26:44Speaker 1: is fascinating when you consider the treatment the women marrying
- 26:48Speaker 1: into these British families have received from the press and
- 26:51Speaker 1: general public. I mean, the biggest difference between the Beckhams
- 26:54Speaker 1: and the Windsors is old money and new money. That's
- 26:58Speaker 1: the sort of the vibes. Yeah, I mean, definitely. But still,
- 27:02Speaker 1: Nicola has been painted by the press as this fame-hungry
- 27:06Speaker 1: American interloper who is intent on splitting the Beckham family up.
- 27:10Speaker 1: which is a copy and paste of the Meghan Markle narrative. Well,
- 27:13Speaker 1: it tells magazines, doesn't it? It is also interesting when
- 27:16Speaker 1: you consider, you know, it's this American marrying into a
- 27:18Speaker 1: British family because there is a big difference when it
- 27:22Speaker 1: comes to Brits and Americans when you think of, you know,
- 27:24Speaker 1: communication style. Americans are very direct. I mean, humour as well, class, self-promotion,
- 27:30Speaker 1: the list goes on. So I think that there is
- 27:32Speaker 1: a culture clash going on between both of these families
- 27:34Speaker 1: that has caused this feud. I find the timing of
- 27:38Speaker 1: Brooklyn's statement really interesting because he's doing so at a
- 27:42Speaker 1: time when his parents have never been more popular off
- 27:44Speaker 1: the back of their recent Netflix documentary series. In comparison,
- 27:49Speaker 1: he's gotten a pretty bad rap in the press lately.
- 27:52Speaker 1: He's often labelled as this nepo baby who's yet to
- 27:55Speaker 1: find career success and pretty much as painted as someone
- 27:58Speaker 1: who just leeches off his parents. Yeah, and there's also
- 28:01Speaker 1: been accusations that he's hitting out at his parents who
- 28:04Speaker 1: have funded his lifestyle. now that he's married into a
- 28:07Speaker 1: billionaire family. People are also accusing him of trying to
- 28:10Speaker 1: get his own Netflix doco. That's why they think he's
- 28:12Speaker 1: released this statement. And it's clear to me that he's
- 28:15Speaker 1: put this statement out in an attempt to get public
- 28:18Speaker 1: support and to change this narrative. But we will go
- 28:20Speaker 1: into that a little bit later because I'm not sure
- 28:22Speaker 1: how successful it's been. Coming off the back of Brooklyn's statement,
- 28:25Speaker 1: Victoria has been painted as this nightmare mother-in-law. And the
- 28:29Speaker 1: most explosive claims from Brooklyn... are centered around his mother.
- 28:33Speaker 1: So he claims that she backed out at the last
- 28:35Speaker 1: minute of designing Nicola's wedding dress and sabotaged the couple's
- 28:40Speaker 1: first dance. So Brooklyn claims that when Mark Anthony called
- 28:43Speaker 1: him to the stage for his first dance, which was
- 28:45Speaker 1: supposed to be with his wife, his mom was waiting
- 28:49Speaker 1: there to dance with him instead. Now, if you cast
- 28:52Speaker 1: your minds back to the reports that were coming out
- 28:54Speaker 1: in 2022 following the wedding, Mark Anthony supposedly introduced Victoria
- 28:59Speaker 1: as the most beautiful woman in the room, which, I mean,
- 29:04Speaker 1: what the fuck? God, can you imagine at your wedding
- 29:07Speaker 1: if someone introduced your mother-in-law as the most beautiful or anyone,
- 29:10Speaker 1: any other woman except you? Like that is just a no-no.
- 29:14Speaker 1: As for the dance, Brooklyn wrote, she danced very inappropriately
- 29:18Speaker 1: on me in front of everyone. I have never felt
- 29:20Speaker 1: more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life. He then
- 29:24Speaker 1: said the reason that the couple recently renewed their wedding
- 29:27Speaker 1: vows was to create new memories of their wedding. Now
- 29:31Speaker 1: everyone is asking for the receipts and it seems like
- 29:33Speaker 1: it's unlikely they'll be coming as Brooklyn and Nicola reportedly
- 29:36Speaker 1: are the only ones who have access to that vision.
- 29:39Speaker 1: I wonder if... if they got a Netflix doco, if
- 29:42Speaker 1: they would air it. Well, I mean, if you're going
- 29:43Speaker 1: to be making outlandish claims, basically referring that your mom
- 29:47Speaker 1: has the hots for you. I mean, because that's essentially
- 29:48Speaker 1: what he's saying here, isn't it? That this dancing is inappropriate.
- 29:52Speaker 1: We're all getting this vision of hers grinding up against him,
- 29:55Speaker 1: particularly because he said that It was a very romantic song.
- 29:59Speaker 1: I mean, that was the vision that I had in
- 30:01Speaker 1: my head when I read this statement. But surely we
- 30:04Speaker 1: would have known about that by now if there were
- 30:07Speaker 1: 500 guests there. I mean, potentially their phones were taken away.
- 30:10Speaker 1: But surely this information would have leaked because so much
- 30:13Speaker 1: has been leaked to the press about the wedding. I
- 30:15Speaker 1: just can't get over these claims. I think because I
- 30:18Speaker 1: now have a son, I'm putting myself in the position
- 30:21Speaker 1: of Victoria and how hurtful and upsetting it would be
- 30:25Speaker 1: for this child that you have invested so much of
- 30:27Speaker 1: your time, energy, love into, to then come out and
- 30:31Speaker 1: humiliate you in that way. I mean, who's coming up
- 30:35Speaker 1: with these claims? Was it Brooklyn or did Nicola find
- 30:38Speaker 1: it weird? Well, I think the public reaction has been
- 30:40Speaker 1: interesting because I think there's a divide between boy mums
- 30:43Speaker 1: like ourselves and those who have had nightmare mother-in-laws. And
- 30:46Speaker 1: I think the boy mums are on Posh and Bex's side,
- 30:49Speaker 1: while anyone who has a nightmare in-law is team Brooklyn.
- 30:54Speaker 1: And I think people are definitely projecting their own family
- 30:57Speaker 1: dynamics onto this situation because as a boy mum myself,
- 31:01Speaker 1: I find this whole competition between a mother and daughter-in-law
- 31:04Speaker 1: really gross, not to mention this incest element that is
- 31:08Speaker 1: being pushed. It's incredibly misogynistic. I also want to point out,
- 31:13Speaker 1: and this is not just directed at Nicola, but to
- 31:16Speaker 1: be fair, there often is a red flag when someone
- 31:19Speaker 1: cuts off their entire family once they're in a new
- 31:21Speaker 1: relationship with someone. I also have to say- that quite
- 31:25Speaker 1: often when it comes to weddings, it's the bride's family
- 31:30Speaker 1: who kind of get the better deal. The mom gets
- 31:34Speaker 1: to come and help with the dress and she's usually
- 31:37Speaker 1: there in the morning. Whereas The groom's family are sort
- 31:40Speaker 1: of playing second fiddle. So for Victoria, they're coming into
- 31:44Speaker 1: this situation where Brooklyn is marrying a billionaire. So one,
- 31:49Speaker 1: I wonder who funded most of the wedding if it
- 31:50Speaker 1: was an equal split. So she's probably thinking, well, of course,
- 31:53Speaker 1: I mean, you're acting as if they haven't got much money.
- 31:55Speaker 1: They're also close to billionaire status. Like they're not poor.
- 31:58Speaker 1: I understand that. But the pelts seem to come from
- 32:01Speaker 1: old money. Like they scream old money. So I feel
- 32:04Speaker 1: like they were very traditional and they probably were like, no,
- 32:06Speaker 1: we're calling the shots with this wedding. And I feel
- 32:08Speaker 1: like Victoria and David felt like they were just invited
- 32:10Speaker 1: to the wedding, that they weren't actually part of it.
- 32:12Speaker 1: So maybe this is where Victoria thought, hold on a second,
- 32:15Speaker 1: I need a moment in this wedding. So I would
- 32:18Speaker 1: like a dance with my son. So maybe she did
- 32:20Speaker 1: hijack it in that moment, but I kind of get it.
- 32:23Speaker 1: I don't know if I can agree with you there, Sophie,
- 32:24Speaker 1: because even if you feel like you're on the outer
- 32:27Speaker 1: at your son's wedding, I don't think you should hijack
- 32:29Speaker 1: the wedding and make it about yourself. I think you
- 32:31Speaker 1: could have a private conversation that you were feeling a
- 32:34Speaker 1: little bit unloved. But I think you do that after
- 32:36Speaker 1: the wedding. I'm not saying that she should have made
- 32:38Speaker 1: it all about her, but when you reflect on weddings,
- 32:40Speaker 1: there's this really beautiful moment where the dad walks the
- 32:43Speaker 1: daughter down the aisle. Quite often the mums get left
- 32:46Speaker 1: out of things and maybe she thought, well, I want
- 32:47Speaker 1: to have a really nice moment with my son. I mean, yeah,
- 32:49Speaker 1: maybe she was passing it off as this surprise and
- 32:52Speaker 1: it sort of has backfired on her. We also know
- 32:55Speaker 1: that Victoria loves a dance and we have seen that
- 32:57Speaker 1: with a lot of the memes that have been coming out.
- 32:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Well, the internet has absolutely exploded with memes and parodies
- 33:03Speaker 1: of what people imagine this dance was like. And I
- 33:05Speaker 1: have just been laughing nonstop. Like they continuously are in
- 33:08Speaker 1: my feed. Super Sluice also pulled up an old tweet
- 33:11Speaker 1: Victoria posted at the start of last year, which read,
- 33:14Speaker 1: never met a dance floor I didn't like. There's also
- 33:17Speaker 1: a recent clip from Christmas 2025 of Victoria dancing with
- 33:21Speaker 1: her father that has resurfaced. So At the time, there
- 33:24Speaker 1: was commentary that the clip made people feel uncomfortable and
- 33:27Speaker 1: people were saying, you don't dance with your dad like that.
- 33:30Speaker 1: So I just wonder, is this just the way Victoria
- 33:32Speaker 1: dances with everyone? Well, Cruz Beckham liked one of the
- 33:34Speaker 1: parodies and it was by a UK comedian who put
- 33:37Speaker 1: up a video of himself pretending to be the DJ
- 33:40Speaker 1: at the wedding. And he's like, the mother of the
- 33:42Speaker 1: groom has requested pony. I genuinely think that this might
- 33:47Speaker 1: be a class or cultural divide between the Beckhams and
- 33:51Speaker 1: the Pelts. I was like, We all have seen that
- 33:54Speaker 1: Victoria loves a cheesy dance. I mean, the dance she
- 33:56Speaker 1: did with David to Islands in the Street went absolutely
- 33:59Speaker 1: viral off the back of the Beckham doco. I think
- 34:01Speaker 1: this has just been all taken out of context. Well,
- 34:04Speaker 1: while Victoria copped the brunt of this statement, David wasn't
- 34:07Speaker 1: let off the hook. So Brooklyn addressed why he wasn't
- 34:10Speaker 1: in attendance at his father's birthday. He claims that he
- 34:14Speaker 1: and Nicola made the trip to London to spend time
- 34:17Speaker 1: with his dad, but they were rejected by David. So
- 34:20Speaker 1: Brooklyn alleges that David gave him two options. The first
- 34:23Speaker 1: was to meet him at the party with 100 guests
- 34:25Speaker 1: and cameras at every corner or in private under the
- 34:28Speaker 1: condition that Nicola wasn't invited. Now this led into the
- 34:32Speaker 1: other bombshell claim that the Beckhams put brand ahead of family.
- 34:36Speaker 1: So Brooklyn said he grew up with overwhelming anxiety and
- 34:40Speaker 1: claims that for his entire life his parents have controlled
- 34:43Speaker 1: narratives in the press about their family. He went on
- 34:46Speaker 1: to write the performative social media posts family events and
- 34:49Speaker 1: inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I
- 34:52Speaker 1: was born into. Now, Brooklyn also brought up the trademarking
- 34:57Speaker 1: of his name. So in his statement, he claimed his
- 35:00Speaker 1: parents pressured and bribed him to sign away the rights
- 35:03Speaker 1: to his own name's commercial use before his wedding. Now,
- 35:06Speaker 1: the trademark was set to expire in 2026. So for
- 35:10Speaker 1: people who were confused about this, in 2016, when Brooklyn
- 35:14Speaker 1: was just 16, Victoria registered a trademark for his name,
- 35:18Speaker 1: So this means that Victoria owns the legal right to
- 35:20Speaker 1: use his name for commercial products. And it's pretty typical
- 35:23Speaker 1: behavior of celebrities. So the Kardashians have all trademarked their kids' names.
- 35:27Speaker 1: It's basically safeguarding their names against other people bringing out
- 35:31Speaker 1: products under their names. But what it means now is
- 35:34Speaker 1: that Brooklyn can't control how his name is used. And
- 35:37Speaker 1: this may be why Brooklyn has been using Brooklyn Pelts
- 35:41Speaker 1: Beckham publicly since he got married. I think he would
- 35:43Speaker 1: have changed his last name regardless because he really comes
- 35:46Speaker 1: across as a wife man. Like he is all in
- 35:48Speaker 1: it for Nicola. Doesn't he have a weird tattoo of
- 35:52Speaker 1: her face on his arm? I think he has like
- 35:54Speaker 1: 15 tattoos of her. He's very devoted to her. I
- 35:57Speaker 1: can see why the Beckhams have probably got red flags going.
- 36:00Speaker 1: I mean, that's a little bit over the top. The
- 36:01Speaker 1: part that got me in Brooklyn's statement was him saying
- 36:05Speaker 1: that he and Nicola wanted privacy. I'm like, well, why
- 36:07Speaker 1: have you just aired all of this dirty laundry? Like, clearly,
- 36:10Speaker 1: you know, this is going to blow up. It's a
- 36:12Speaker 1: bit like Harry and Meghan calling for privacy, but then
- 36:14Speaker 1: doing every Netflix show. I mean, I think it's been
- 36:16Speaker 1: a massive mistake for Brooklyn to go public with this
- 36:19Speaker 1: statement because there's no going back after this. And Moving forward,
- 36:23Speaker 1: he's going to be defined by this and he's going
- 36:26Speaker 1: to be continuously asked by the press about his statement.
- 36:30Speaker 1: And he's not working on equal footing because the Beckhams
- 36:33Speaker 1: have spent the last 30 years elevating themselves essentially to
- 36:37Speaker 1: legendary pop culture status. And I mean, that's only intensified
- 36:41Speaker 1: off the back of their Netflix docos. People really feel
- 36:44Speaker 1: like they know Posh and Becks. I mean, their dramas
- 36:47Speaker 1: have been a constant soap opera in so many of
- 36:49Speaker 1: our lives. And all Brooklyn has done is add to
- 36:52Speaker 1: the theatrics and cemented his parents further into these pop
- 36:55Speaker 1: culture characters. And if you think about the public's perception
- 36:58Speaker 1: of Brooklyn, it's that he's a spoiled little brat who
- 37:00Speaker 1: doesn't have a job, which whether that's fair or not,
- 37:03Speaker 1: that actually is the perception of him at the moment. Also,
- 37:06Speaker 1: when it comes to Victoria, it's really difficult for people
- 37:10Speaker 1: to see her and Posh Spice as separate entities, even
- 37:13Speaker 1: 30 years on from her being in the Spice Girls.
- 37:16Speaker 1: And with the reputation that she's gotten from working in
- 37:18Speaker 1: the high fashion industry, I feel like Brooklyn's accusations are
- 37:22Speaker 1: really on brand for Victoria. It's sort of what you
- 37:24Speaker 1: expect her to be like. It almost plays into that
- 37:26Speaker 1: character more because I can imagine Victoria finding it very
- 37:30Speaker 1: difficult not to be a main character in her son's wedding.
- 37:33Speaker 1: And I think that we kind of take a look
- 37:35Speaker 1: at that and think, oh, that's kind of funny. Like that, oh,
- 37:38Speaker 1: good on her. That's why we've seen the internet explode
- 37:39Speaker 1: with memes because it's kind of like, well, they're all
- 37:41Speaker 1: characters in this soap opera and it takes the seriousness
- 37:45Speaker 1: away from some of his claims because it's like, we're
- 37:48Speaker 1: just like taking the piss out of the Beckhams. Like
- 37:49Speaker 1: Victoria Beckham has had the piss taken out of her,
- 37:51Speaker 1: her whole career. And, and as you said, Amy, everyone
- 37:54Speaker 1: loves poking fun at Brooklyn for being a nepo baby.
- 37:56Speaker 1: Can you imagine though, if these claims were reversed and
- 37:59Speaker 1: it was actually Harper making them about David saying, oh,
- 38:01Speaker 1: he danced with me inappropriately. I feel like that would
- 38:04Speaker 1: almost be taken more seriously on the internet. I do
- 38:06Speaker 1: remember there was this clip going viral on TikTok of
- 38:09Speaker 1: David giving his daughter Harper a kiss on the lips
- 38:11Speaker 1: and people were put off by it. I mean, I
- 38:12Speaker 1: do think it's true that people wouldn't be taking the
- 38:14Speaker 1: piss out of it if that was the case. What
- 38:16Speaker 1: do you guys think Victoria and David are going to
- 38:18Speaker 1: do next? They have been active on social media. So
- 38:21Speaker 1: I saw today that Victoria wished Emma Bunton a happy birthday.
- 38:24Speaker 1: What is an interesting twist in this story is that
- 38:26Speaker 1: Victoria and David would have had to read Brooklyn's statement
- 38:30Speaker 1: in the press. They wouldn't have got a heads up
- 38:32Speaker 1: first because they're blocked on his Instagram. So they couldn't
- 38:34Speaker 1: have even clicked on it and seen what he said
- 38:36Speaker 1: about them. I'm assuming one of their managers had to
- 38:38Speaker 1: awkwardly send it to them I mean, everyone's saying, oh,
- 38:41Speaker 1: are we going to hear from Victoria and David? But
- 38:44Speaker 1: I think it's best that they say nothing. I mean,
- 38:46Speaker 1: that's been their long running media strategy. We saw it
- 38:48Speaker 1: on the Netflix doco. They didn't talk about David's well-publicized
- 38:52Speaker 1: affair with Rebecca Luz. So I think that they're just
- 38:55Speaker 1: going to do what they normally do and ignore it.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Because if they do comment on it, that opens themselves
- 39:02Speaker 1: up to every time they face the media to be
- 39:05Speaker 1: asked about it. But if they remain quiet, then they
- 39:08Speaker 1: don't have to say anything. Yeah, I don't think they're
- 39:10Speaker 1: going to comment on it, but I think their PR
- 39:12Speaker 1: team will be working in overdrive, feeding different stories to
- 39:15Speaker 1: the media about Nicola. Surely Bram Beckham will also leak
- 39:18Speaker 1: the vision of Victoria and Brooklyn dancing at the wedding
- 39:20Speaker 1: if it's in her favour. What I find so hypocritical
- 39:23Speaker 1: in that statement is Brooklyn being like, all my family
- 39:25Speaker 1: do is get their PR team to put out negative
- 39:28Speaker 1: stories about me and Nicola. Well, how? did the press
- 39:31Speaker 1: have all of the stories which were favoring him and
- 39:33Speaker 1: Nicola out originally? Because these stories about the wedding came
- 39:36Speaker 1: out in 2022.
- 39:37Speaker 4: Exactly.
- 39:38Speaker 1: There's been leaking on both sides of the family. I mean,
- 39:41Speaker 1: what can they really do? They're David did speak at
- 39:46Speaker 1: a social media conference a day after Brooklyn's statement came
- 39:49Speaker 1: out and he kind of had a bit of a
- 39:51Speaker 1: smile as he said, oh, you know, kids need to
- 39:52Speaker 1: learn by their mistakes and that sort of thing. So
- 39:55Speaker 1: I think it's going to be a few offhand comments
- 39:57Speaker 1: because in saying not much, they're saying a lot. I mean,
- 40:00Speaker 1: the sad reality is the only way I can see
- 40:03Speaker 1: the Beckham family, you know, getting over this and reuniting
- 40:06Speaker 1: is is if Brooklyn gets divorced. Well, that is where
- 40:09Speaker 1: we are going to leave things today. Thank you so
